i posted about this on my sideblog but it's on my mind again. has anyone considered poe (and rey and finn, also) comes across as different in tros because....it's been over a year since the last movie?

Like, they go through a lot of development in the first two movies, sure - but they also take place across like. the same fucking week from hell. Of course by comparison (a year or so more), they....feel different?

Finn has had time to settle into finding purpose and a belief (he's doing what he was raised for, but he has a cause he actually believes in and a family, of course he's more confident And sure of himself); by extension, Rey has had this time to find someplace she really belongs to and is struggling more with her own negative feelings/draw to the dark because she's afraid her new family will reject her; and of course, Poe's been helping Leia lead the Resistance for the last however long it's been, and is afraid they're fighting a losing battle...of course he's a little less jubilant than before.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course but I just started thinking about it from their povs recently and remembered how much time there actually is between movies finally, and started thinking about this.

oh boy, the one that came to mind first is probably the one people will hate me for the most but whatever. it's not the first time I've said it. I think Han was kinda creepy in the way he pursued Leia in TESB. I still love him, like he's one of my favorite SW characters hands down, but I stand by that this makes me a bit uncomfy

this is very simple but I like to think Jyn and Cassian would be inseparable after Scarif. Cassian wakes up in the medbay with Jyn slumbering in the chair next to his bed and that's it. they're a set do not separate. like... I think Jyn as a Pathfinder does make a lot of sense, probably more than Intelligence, but I just want them to stay together so I always headcanon and most often write her as joining Intelligence tbh. sure, they will have separate missions every now and then, but I think they make a great team which even Draven can see, so they very often go on missions together (sometimes joined by Kay, sometimes not)

Guess who's sick...I feel miserable. My head hurts every time I cough, it's annoying as hell.

The news that Disney is trying to milk the Skywalker saga for money again, is just pissing me off and making this day worse. The SW saga ended with TESB , Force Awakens if you squint. Rey was meant to be a Solo. There's enough proofs out there to back it up. Only to have Disney destroyed the whole saga with two movies.

More movies for Disney to spit on Luke, Leia, Han and probably Finn and Poe as well.

just saying that disney’s portrayal of luke as a sad lonely old man is WILDLY inconsistent with the way legends writers have been writing him for years. like i cannot stress enough how many girlfriends he had. so many strong women looked at his sword wielding farmboy ass and decided that’s what they wanted, and in retconning this and writing him the way they did disney just made him even MORE queercoded. so.
