Tickletober Day 19: Revenge - (Switch Mr. Hippo, Switch Orville.)

Summary: During one of Mr. Hippo’s speeches, he remembers some trickery bestowed upon him and decides to take his revenge. Their captive audience member is amused.

...

"So you see, there I was..." Mr Hippo drawled in his usual way. "Out there on a picnic with Orville, when suddenly Orville pointed to something in the sky. I followed his finger and I saw it was a simple Blue Jay. Yeah, it was quite pretty. I could look at it all day... But you see, I was in the middle of eating a sandwich. And when I looked back into my hands, the sandwich was gone!" He said, recounting his surprise.

I noticed that him walk over to the prize counter and drag Orville back into the office. Orville looked a little nervous. Knowing what was about to happen, I smirked. Well, as long as I was here, I may as well be entertained!

Mr. Hippo grinned at Orville. "Right. You remember that Orville, don't you...?" His fingers fluttered slightly at his sides. Orville jumped, refusing to let out a sound. "Oh, don't you know...? Orville's very ticklish. You should have seen him that Sunday when we went bowling. After a losing streak, I wanted to find a way to cheer him up. I playfully poked him, and imagine my reaction when he yelped and jumped ten feet in the air! The rest is history.”

I chuckled to myself. These two would never get old.

"EEEEEEEEE! HEEHEHEEHEHEHEEAHAHAAHAHAHAAAAA!" Orville shrieked as Mr. Hippo got his underarms. "NOHOHOHOOT THEEHEHEHEHERE!!!"

"Heh-heh. He's got you now!" I teased in a low tone.

"NOHHOHOHOOHOOOOOOOOOHOOOO!" Orville whined, laughing and thrashing in his friend's grip.

"Oh, just try to turn the tables Orville! You know I'm barely ticklish!" Mr. Hippo chuckled.

"Oh yes...? But you're still ticklish somewhere!" He shot back, reaching and tickling in any place he could reach. Trying his ribs, sides, and underarms.

"Heheheheehee! Nice try, Orville!" Mr. Hippo smiled, getting Orville's belly.

"EEHEEHEHEHHEEEHEE! NOHOHO FAIHIHIHIIHIHIR!"

Suddenly Orville brushed his fingers along his neck and Mr. Hippo squeaked. "EHEHEHEEHEHEHHEHEHEEEEEE!! WAHAHHAHAAHAIT!"

"I’ve found your weak spot!" Orville chuckled, and continued brushing his fingers along his neck. "Now let's see: where else might you be ticklish? Perhaps... Your belly? Or your hips? Or your feet?"

As he tickled every spot he mentioned, Mr. Hippo laughed, the dam already broken. It was impossible to tell how sensitive those areas really were.

"HEHEEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEE! COHOHOOHME OHOHOHOOHON OHOHOHOHRVILLE!"

Watching the two silly robots, I laughed and sat back in my chair, munching on the provided popcorn. While this would be a long eternity, I made sure to cherish any and all breaks I could get.

also in the 'til we meet again scene, sequence for the ages that it is, shoutout to what can bootly be seen of joe ross (main guy (corbin bleu)) reacting to the unfolding wonders (orvphil)....first of, all, very fun that like we have this conflict for joe that allows for character growth in that he's both genuine about theatre & performance & art & the togetherness of putting on a show & all that, but in being aware of that can sure deliberately use it to his advantage including in maintaining convenient ambiguity over how much the Acting can bleed into / overlap with [we are all acting all the time] genuineness lol, & not in some way posited to be like ohh callously calculated & nefarious, but in that like, he's still having to navigate this more consciously & take more risks including ceding some Direction as director, even while he's been holding the show / troupe together....just great to have a relevant enhanced effective arc there, as is bestowed on all the characters, but also all that is an intro to me saying that it's fun how from the start though we do see joe act a bit differently with phil as his partner here, & give him the like "behind the scenes" look/info at how joe's operating, while phil also just seems to be on his wavelength where it makes sense he's privy to that as someone also very in charge of fundamental parts of every show as Writer & More, aware of what it takes to try to hold things together & make it work & the playing it by ear that they've been up to....hence like in this very scene you get both joe & phil individually reacting to the goings on with the leads, & joe having silent momentary sidebars with phil, & phil getting to have a less silent sidebar with him like what are you doing, joe, & then take over with his own alternate approach while joe is not loving that but is also not going to try to win this one nor even to try to kind of Sell phil on how totally actually fine everything is as he does with others to get over a particular hurdle or speedbump (vs issues so fundamental that they end up needing to: recast the leads, revamp the numbers in even the styles of music & choreo (also shoutout to like, the bonus of changing choreo to make it not just zingier but easier on jane as someone with any experience but not That much. instead of solely her having to be run ragged & Deal With It, that's that))

yippee for that dynamic but then the essence of this post's inspiration, what joe can be seen to do as The Phil & Orville Duet: Together The Two Men Execute The Love Song Beautifully is unfolding, which is that at first he is just kind of enduring this like it has to happen phil cannot be stopped & joe isn't going to Really try b/c it's crucial creative collaborator & bestie phil & he hasn't slept for three nights joe & all he wants is to hear the damn song sung right just once (just. once...) & he is like slightly bent down forehead in hand lmao & then thee frame pushes in b/c the scene also puts a spotlight on orville & phil there as they create & have a Moment, dimmer blue lighting on everyone else....but, delightfully, joe shifting from this pose of Defeat into like omg well hang on a minute can be imagined, b/c you can see him Considering by lifting a hand & waiting a second before then confidently quickly waving in The Chorus in time for the refrain that then grows ft. the [i know what this means!!] orville kneeling up at phil who is Living & etc, & we get joe turning to troupe members back at piano like, right? good? thumbs up? potential [you seeing this?] too lmao but like he's Back In It as director vs figuratively stepping back from it b/c phil cannot be reckoned with there....& then as the Moment is again becoming focused on orville & phil like, chorus decrescendo, lighting again highlighting them specifically, sitting back down gazing at each other harmonizing also then staring at each other well beyond the end of the song Or audience applause & smiling together, Well, you do see joe like now just Watching hand on chin at first going :0 then :) and then arms folded as we push back in & lighting refocuses on our beloved duo like joe giving I Am Looking Directly At It like. friend & ally. who was like "well sure :)" swinging into a dance with a Fellow Guy for a bit in a previous song (paper moon sequence i believe) & despite his whole thing being Main Guy, Holding This Troupe Together ft. a bit of extra theatrics if needed is out here keeping it realer with phil & letting go of the reins when phil is Really insisting on taking them here even if of course joe isn't thrilled about doing so. & then we just know joe is like zero questions asked I Support You as phil is out here having paroxysms of delight & going "what a guy!!!" over orville & walking him home like well alright boys!!

He’s in the kitchen one morning and he’s listening to Orville Peck and suddenly it switches to Korn’s freak on a leash. Slade is a little puzzled as to how that works but he lets it slide. Slade is more of a themed playlist guy. If he’s going to listen to music it’s going to be all the same category. Blame the army for that.

Absolutely gobsmacked by the double switch the Orville pulled with the Krill, Moclans and Kaylon. I thought for SURE we were heading for the classic "disparate warring factions all unite against the larger existential threat" and then in the last two episodes they Matrix dodged out of the way into "your former allies are now allied with your sworn enemy and now the killer robots are on YOUR side because you saved them from extinction???" I love that "everyone unites" trope but this is so much more interesting!!! Everything is complex and messy, no easy answers. Absolutely thrilling TV.

The idea of Gen V musical episode plagues me. But I really want it to be weird and surreal. Like there's no way to survive but to sing and dance. And everybody is bewildered, doing the routines the can't possibly know.

There is a possibility that everybody would have an original song, maybe even there going to be a TV-themed villain and everything would be broadcasted. Could you imagine?

But I do have some thoughts, mostly about Jordan. I don't know why, but Jordan and few Orville Peck songs I listen to just fused together in my mind.

Imagine a room that sort of resembles a barn with a small stage. Figure in a cowboy hat, with a guitar, is the only part of the room that's only somewhat illuminated. And the moment Marie steps closer through the faceless crowd, the stage illuminates fully, showing Jordan in the male form stuck in the broody-guitarist-cowboy pose.

But the moment Marie is close enough, Jordan can move. They switch and play the first few notes of Roses Are Falling.

The song is rather slow, but the crowd sways softly, starting to dance with their hats and Jordan, while singing, glances to the hat that lays to the side so Marie can join in.

And while the dance progreses, Jordan can move more. They stand up and go to Marie, who sways, maybe even sings along. When the song ends, those two hug, checking that they are both real. And since this is The Boys Universe we are talking about, the crowd probably should turn hostile.

Also, if we are making Derek dance, I really think it should be like almost a ballet number. With Marie or not, but very emotional.

I don't really know what song I would give to Marie herself, but I think many of Florence and The Machine songs would suit her well. Which Witch? Ship To Wreck? You've Got the Love?

I do have a song for Andre too. It's Power by Isak Danielson. I mean, Chance has a nice deep voice. We can't tell if his accent will show, but I think it could be great otherwise.

It's obviosly a song about Cate. Maybe in this number she even recruits him, compels him to go with her, where he tries to pull away and succeds or...doesn't. I think it could be both Andre giving in and saying goodbye to Cate and to Luke too, everything that was easy and seemingly safe about their friendship\love.

This number doesn't need much. Dark room\corridor, soft dance without touching. If Andre doesn't accept Cate's Godolkin rule, he leaves her in the darkness, now looking all bloody and feral, like in the finale.

I also have a song for Sam, which is Dirty Imbecile by The Happy Fits. It's a very easy choice at least because of the line:

'Cause I'm crazy in just too many ways

This basically could be about him being bored and dissapointed with his newfound fame and life. Maybe some of his emotions would come back through singing, we don't really now what else can break through Cate's influence. In case somene might think that I'm insulting Sam, the song, even though upbeat, it's from the persperctive of a scarred person who feels out of place, basically.

Anyway, I don't want to be cured from this hyper-fixation.

HaND office personnel Halloween costumes!

yeah oof this is like a day late because I’m a slow worker but uhhh yeah.. happy late Halloween :,)

Death and Quinn first!!! They have matching costumes! Death is Jack Skellington and Quinn is the pumpkin king.

Second is Joe and Jerry!!!! Joe is in one of those silly inflatable dinosaur costumes and Jerry is a bedsheet ghost with a twist.

Third is Patrick and Harriet!!!! Patrick is Rose Quartz with glitter (he’s slaying btw) and Harriet is Jason Vorhees.

Fourth (and alone) is Orville!!! He’s a demon because I didn’t realize he was a cauldron when I was first playing the game. (Graphics aren’t as good on switch)

Fifth are my favorite costumes, Muriel and Claude!!!! Muriel is in a performative (I know it says preformance I'm just stupid) metamorphosis inspired costume! (Gregor samsa), and Claude is a headless horseman.

And finally we have Jocelyn and O’sha!!!!! Jocelyn is a spooky witch (with a bit of green hehe), and O’sha is a (very drunk) vampire. (Man what a bad HR manager…).

Jacob, Mark and Burt aren’t on here because they don’t appear in the office. (And I don’t think Jacob actually celebrates Halloween, at least not after that prank death pulled lol).
