so i've started working on a couple research projects for school this quarter and one of them involves you guys!

this is geared specifically for creators like me who are writers, as well as artists, but is also open to tiktokers, reviewers, readers, & whatever else it is we creators do with our love of the fandom.

what do you have to do? just fill out this google form as honestly as you can.

what's the catch? no catch! it's completely anonymous. i don't gather any data about who you are, your social media, your name, anything.

is there a due date? i need responses by may 10, 2024

there's no judgement, no "hey i don't like your answers" or "hey i think you're a bad person". this is a purely academic endeavor meant to combine my love of the fandom with my love for learning, writing, & activism.

It is absolutely comical how frequently this happens:

I'm scrolling my dash.

I see a reblog of some Star Wars (but specifically, Clone Wars) art from someone I've never heard of in my life.

I instantly think so myself, "Oop, I bet they're an anti" based on nothing more than the style of the art.

I check their blog real quick to look for a shipping DNI, and oh yup, there it is.*

I have a good chuckle over how the 'anti art style' in this fandom is like a mathematical formula at this point.

I block them and add their username to my 'filtered post content' list.

I have been wrong about this once since I noticed the phenomenon 2-3 years ago and it still happens at least a few times a month. Friends will occasionally send me links like, "I found another one!" because it's so blatant. 🤣🤣🤣

*For anyone who is blessedly unaware of this particular brand of fandom wank, the DNIs are always some combination of clone shipping, Rexsoka, and Obikin or master/padawan in general. And they're almost always right next to DNIs for things that, you know, actually hurt people, like racism, transphobia, etc. Toooootally logical behavior to equate those things. 🙃

Thinking a lot about how by the time TCW comes about Anakin has already committed a grievous sin, already committed a massacre, already chosen his side in some ways. The man Ahsoka knows, the only version of him she ever gets to know, is built on an assumption of purity he has already lost.

He has already begun to fall, and this slip contributes in so many ways to his inability to pull himself back. Because the only person other than Padmé he tells his crime to is Palpatine, because he's the only person who won't judge him (and that in and of itself is a measure of his immaturity–– because he deserved to be judged).

And this contributes so much to Palpatine's control because he has this piece of the puzzle, this ability to go "Oh, but what about this?" any time Anakin tries to pull back from Palpatine's confidence. Because they both know if he ever admitted it to the Order he'd forever lose their approval, and that's what matters most. So Palpatine has this advantage, because he knows more about Anakin than anyone else and Anakin doesn't feel he can confide in anyone else.

But the thing is: for so long, Anakin wants to be better, wants to amend himself for this sin and more than once wants to confess to Obi-Wan, but every single time Palpatine is able to go "Oh but he thinks he's so much better than you, he would never understand you, he would judge you and tell the Order and they'd cast you out" but... Obi-Wan would have forgiven him anything.

I think a lot about Obi-Wan being such a Perfect Jedi (in the eyes of everyone else if nothing else) and how much that hurts Anakin. Because every time he tries to pull himself back from the ledge this epitome of what it means to be a Jedi is just there in his face reminding him of his own failure

You cannot tell me that the ARF Troopers aren’t insane- you just can’t.

You don’t just CHARGE INTO THE ENEMY while riding a walking laser cannon or try to throw hands with a Commando Droid that just knocked your buddy into the air with a SINLGE PUNCH and then grabbed them mid-air to throw them into the ground like a empty bottle of water without being totally insane
