The first time they actually meet, finally!
I had wanted to draw this for so long, but other things always seemed more important at that moment, so I just kept postponing it🙈

Hey have a fun AU I came up with the other day after reading a bunch of fics with related tropes
It's a raised Sith AU. Anakin was found by Sidious well before he was found by Qui-Gon. He was raised by the Sith, is a classically horrible monster stalking about TCW to be Vader (mask and all, just as an intimidation factor instead of life support) while Ventress and Grievous and Dooku do their own things in a different section of the war. He's got a Really Fucking Weird dynamic with Obi-Wan, mostly attempting to kill him etc.
At some point, Palpatine allows Anakin and Padme to meet. The romance that blooms is one that Sheev decides is useful to him, so he lets it happen.*
Padme gets pregnant. Sidious arranges for her death. Anakin loses his entire shit and tries to kill Sidious. Obi-Wan is off trying to save Padme, unaware of Anakin getting his remaining limbs cut off by his this-universe Master. (This is important, because Anakin does remember Obi-Wan trying to save Padme.)
So we have Anakin, who was raised Sith, and just lost the only things that have mattered to him since his mom died when he was a kid, and Palpatine has pushed him further into the Dark than he ever has. Anakin… knows more about the Sith Secrets in this universe.
Anakin finds a Sithly Time Machine. Maybe on Malachor. There's an owl? Whatever.
Anakin, someone who's been Vader for the vast majority of his life, wakes up at age nine. Maybe even younger, like six. His mother is already dead at Sidious's hands. He's already roommates with Maul. He's already being trained as a baby Sith.
Anakin, being a 20 year old war veteran, is much better at escaping than Sidious has planned for. He reprograms a medical droid to take out his slave chip, steals a ship, etc. All the stuff that Maul wasn't very good at, and Anakin was too young for, so Sidious didn't have the preventative measures in place for yet.
Anakin heads for the one place and person he thinks he can trust: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
(Obi-Wan is still a padawan. But this Baby Sith just declared him Adoptive Teen Dad, so.)
@lizasweetling (all indented bits from here will be hers):
Because Sith. Bad for mental health of the user and generally bad for their environs But also baby. And if hes dragging Maul around no doubt the dude is constantly himself confused why he is here Like yeah, Sidious sucked, and this 6-9yo is way powerful and knowledgeable on the dark side (?????) But why are we going to the Jedi? And not even trying to kill them apparently?????
Anakin is very much being affected by Baby Brain and Baby Endocrine System. He cries a lot more than he should.
I WASN'T THINKING OF HIM BRINGING MAUL BUT YEAH. THAT'S. THAT'S A POSSIBILITY.
Jedi Council trying to decide if this is more "Adult Sith got shrunk" or "child got evil man's memories." Vader wants to know why it even MATTERS. (He didn't actually plan on telling them, but he has very little self control right now.)
The first Good Act he does is tell them where to find Ventress and Ky. (In the original timeline, he viewed Ventress as like. Cool older cousin.)
Vader's right, that distinction does not matter Aaaw, she deserves that, that's nice Maybe she will be like 20% less homocidally traumatized
Anakin is furious when Maul and Obi-Wan pick him up under one arm like a package. He is a GROWN MAN he is an ADULT he was a SITH LORD and about to be a FATHER, he is TOO OLD FOR THIS.
They point out that he is Baby.
😂 sorry lord of evil, you're too baby, have a nap and maybe your feel better. Assuming the crisis on Naboo is still happening, and as such the vote of no confidence is right now, it might be a great time to report Sidious as a Sith lord. Post-escape from Sidious, both he and Maul definitely will need a nap. It's that kinda place.
Oh, it's probably at least a year before. Anakin keeps trying to sneak off to kill the man himself, but the Jedi are more ready for his Sneaking than Mustafar was, so he keeps getting caught before he can reach the Senate.
At one point he tries to just CHARGE the place and you get Mace and Obi-Wan sprinting after him. The News captures videos of this very small child getting chased by an older Padawan and a Master and they are mostly yelling for him to PUT DOWN THE SABER.
(Sidious might see him but what's he going to do? Might cause too many problems for Sidious to be aware of Anakin's presence with the Jedi, though. Best not.)
It's probably more expensive on average to hire an assassin on a child, just in general But on a jedi youngling??? If he can even find someone to do that, it will be so very, ridiculously expensive And likely 70%+ upfront payments
Ahsoka definitely seeks him out. Toddler baby child. She adores him for reasons unclear to anyone and everyone.
!!! Baby has baby!! Vader's probably a little thrown by this. Been a while subjectively since someone just loved him. And not even for like, a reason. Baby Vader coerced into sitting obediently for nap by tired kiddo: [The council liked that]
The number of times that vader could only be convinced to nap by Obi-Wan grabbing him, caging him in his own lap, and forced to Sit Quietly until he just fell asleep like that...
He has things to do, he's not tired 😡😡😡💢 (He's 9. Distances are between 150 and 195% longer when measured with steps, he's hungry (subjectively) all the time, and has only middling coordination He so is too tired)
Anakin doesn't know Qui-Gon at all but he keeps getting stuffed into the man's top because he's just. Small enough to fit.
Like the bomb boobs gif, but it's a small child.
the indignity
You just. You can't let him get too self-important.
Vader is Disgusted every time the pediatric healers try to talk down to him like they do to other 6yos.
The difference between this and other "Vader goes back in time to the Jedi" AUs (like Force of Many Sights) is that this Vader has never been a Jedi, and doesn't know anything about them except how they fight when he's trying to kill their friends.
Also Maul's there.
Because even he has a hard time taking himself seriously when hes so easy to manhandle Rest of the time; I am fear, I am death personified As luggage child: I am so small. The tiniest. I crave violence He's probably very annoyed they keep taking away his saber And hey! Obi gets practice not losing his! Woooo!
Tumblr media
Something something Anakin clinging to Maul's back (piggy back ride) and chewing on his head or something stupid like that. Perfect height for head biting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know, the classic anime head bite
Maul probably has been nominally talked into this because this 9yo is a powerful darksider But he is also the world's most annoying tiny kid Maul would've thought his phenotype would make him immune to this ridiculousness He was wrong At least the teeth are a bit less pointy than his other little brothers'? Appreciating the little things
tfw your unwanted little brother drags you to what you think is a cult but actually they're way less culty than your last two places so you just stick around to keep an eye on the little shit
Anyway. ObiMaul for this one.
They're peers They're tired They just want to sit down and not have to chase this weird little murder child They have a lot in common 😊
They are all just a little bit stupid, I love them.
Qui-Gon is a Cool Mom (throws condoms at them and books it).
Yeah, that's about as much involvement as would be appreciated They probably did a lot of sparring before the tension broke Which did not relieve said tension, generally made it worse (Competence, athleticism, sweat-) Vader is confused, but probably doesn't mind He's probably glad they're distracting each other from stopping assassinating a certain someone (Which- that is 9yo hubris. He would need help to do that)
I still can't decide where on 6yo-9yo he falls but somewhere in there
Babies means easier hiding in shirt, teenie Ahsoka, and longer for him to convince the Jedi council to do a Sith hunt before the Naboo situation
Also longer for Maul and Obi-Wan to faff about being all Tension
* Vaguely inspired by the backstory of Rulebreaker/Wildheart, which is great but significantly more of a romance fic than this.

Without hope, we have nothing.
(Spoilers and speculation included a bit further down)
This is actually a post about the Bad Batch and not Star Wars Rebels, but this bit is important so...
Try not to cry when you remember that Tech is the one who taught Hera Syndulla how to mask her ship's signature, a move that made her a massive threat to the Empire and a move that she often used to her advantage. She was such a threat to the Empire that they wanted to capture her alive so they could make an example of her for her years of defiance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then also try not to cry when you remember that when Hera was taken prisoner by the Empire, Kanan Jarrus sacrificed his life to free her and save the future of the Rebellion. Try not to cry when you think about the fact that Kanan Jarrus aka Caleb Dume was the Jedi padawan the Bad Batch protected (except for Crosshair) from the Empire during Order 66 by claiming Hunter killed him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hunter, Tech, Wrecker and Echo lied to the Empire to protect a Jedi.
And Tech taught Hera how to evade the Empire when the Bad Batch helped her family (Chopper included) escape Ryloth after being accused of treason.
Clone Force 99's actions had a direct outcome on the success of the Rebellion. They refused to commit treason against the Republic and all they did was commit treason against the Empire. They were strong enough to resist the effects of the inhibitor chip (Crosshair and Wrecker for awhile), outright ignored Order 66 (Hunter and Tech), or were tortured and turned partially into a machine against his will by the Techno Union and used as a weapon against the Republic who, upon rescue, immediately jumped back into Separatist territory and fucked their asses up (Echo). Luckily, with the help of Rex, they got their chips removed after Wrecker tried to kill all of them.
Everything under the cut is pure speculation. I'm having a galaxy brain moment, I just have no idea if it's pointing me in the right direction or not lol.
If you disagree with me, I don't need you to rudely tell me why.
After his time on Tantiss, Crosshair can now identify with Echo more than anyone else in the Bad Batch (and Tech if CX-2 is Tech).
When they went to rescue Echo, Crosshair is the one who snidely told Captain Rex that he would have left Echo behind too.
Which is exactly what happened to Crosshair when the Empire turned him into a weapon against his own brothers. He had no choice because the Empire attached him to a machine and amped up the effect of his inhibitor chip so he could not disobey orders.
Rex told Cody "I think Echo is still alive" and Cody told him that was impossible. Anakin accompanied him on this rescue mission with The Bad Batch (we know Cody would have too if he hadn't been injured).
I think that if Tech is CX-2, Crosshair already knows or highly suspects it. He's terrified of Tantiss. I think we're going to have a parallel moment of Crosshair possibly saying the same thing, knowing that he could never leave a brother behind again after what he went through, especially if CX-2 is Tech. (I also wouldn't be surprised if Omega suspected something after her trip back to Tantiss with CX-2.)
We never saw Echo's body after the explosion. Instead we got this image. An empty helmet and a droid arm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crosshair defected from the Empire when he witnessed the Empire tell him that Mayday was only a clone and not worth giving medical attention to. Those actions resulted in the death of Mayday and that's when Crosshair chose to shoot an Imperial officer between the eyes (similar to Dogma's execution of General Krell in many ways).
If Tech is CX-2, that is the second Bad Batcher the Empire has turned into an enemy against his brothers.
This is the last we saw of Tech.
Tumblr media
Hemlock was fucking lying when he said that Tech's glasses were all they recovered. Why the hell would he have found Tech's glasses and not Tech? All we see below him are clouds. And this is the last bit of Tech we see. That gun is in the shot with his glasses for a reason.
Tumblr media
I feel like this is going to parallel Echo's rescue from Skako Minor. Tech and Echo are both highly intelligent huge ass nerds (remember that the battle plans being used against the Republic were written by both Rex and Echo, and Cody acknowledged that Rex was one of their best strategists in the GAR) who always ended up working best together.
Part of me wonders if we are heading into a show centered on the clone troopers in a post Order 66 world going up against the Empire as they try to rescue more of their brothers. Enough to become a problem for the Empire.
Part of me also wonders if the inclusion of Force sensitive children in the Bad Batch means Rex will need to call Ahsoka into the fray. Wolffe has only appeared once so he hasn't even switched sides, let alone even started blocking Ahsoka's messages to Rex yet. During the Clone Wars she had to save Force sensitive children from Darth Sidious. During the Rebellion, the saved more Force sensitive children from Darth Sidious. It makes me wonder if she is also going to save Force sensitive children from this too? I might be reaching a bit too much here, but it could be a possibility! She seems to always show up when Force sensitive children need to be rescued from Darth Sidious.
No matter what ending we get for the Bad Batch, I know it's going to leave us with hope for the future because the message in Star Wars has always shown us that hope will always be stronger than fear.
A simple act of kindness can fill a galaxy with hope.
Without hope, we have nothing.
These episodes are all relevant to Echo's journey. The Domino Squad was referred to as a bad batch and Echo was the one who seemed to struggle the most with orders that conflicted with doing what needed to be done. He is the one who memorized the regulations manual after all. And now the Bad Batch are on a similar journey because they have never trusted regs before, but now it seems they might have to trust the regs to come to help them the way they helped Rex and Echo before the war ended. The way they helped Gregor after the war ended.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but that's a fanfic I can always write!! I don't want to get into who I think is going to die or survive, but I have my suspicions there too and I'm already in too much pain to keep going.

Things Aren’t Always What They Seem and Sometimes They Are
Tumblr media
Pairing: Anakin Skywalker x padawan!reader
Summary: You’re Anakin’s padawan and after your master has a close call you develop nightmares of his death. Every time you close your eyes you see it, so you decided staying awake is the best way to keep your mind at ease and keep your master safe.
Warnings: Angst, fluff, platonic relationship, crying, nightmares, reader uses she/her pronouns, small mention of blood, reader has at least shoulder length hair, description of throwing up, description of death, light description of head being cut off, detailing insomnia, I made my own cw battle, I think that’s it let me know if I missed anything
A/N: I just needed this. Either Anakin can be used, but both Anakin’s are the same to me. Also readers nickname is stub btw due to her stubborn nature(gimme Ik). In this storyline Ahsoka is Kenobi’s padawan, but Anakin still uses Snips for Ahsoka since they’re still always around each other due to Ahsoka being readers best friend and Kenobi also always being around. This is also longer than I planned, sorry.
Tumblr media
No.
No, no, no, no, NO!
This is not happening. This is not happening! It’s impossible, he’s survived far worse than this, right? A building exploding with him still inside it was a piece of cake when it came to my master. So why isn’t he answering his comm, and why can’t I feel him?! His force signature is gone!
He’s dead.
That’s why I can’t feel him. Everything around me was basically nonexistent to me, all I could focus on was the rubble in front of me that had my master trapped. He couldn’t be dead, he just couldn’t be, and I refuse to believe that he is. I wanted to go search for him, to help get him out of there because he needs me, but I couldn’t move and all I could hear was my heart beating loudly in my ears. Until a louder noise snapped me out of it.
“COMMANDER!!!” Rex yelled as he grasped me by my shoulders and was roughly shaking me, which snapped me out of my shock. “Commander the tank lifters are here to remove the debris.”
“Hurry, Rex.” After Rex leaves to go give the orders I turn back to the rubble as I tried to dig deeper into the force to try and sense my master’s force signature. I came up empty handed until I felt a pull towards the other side of the destroyed building. I followed it until I heard a voice. Dooku. I know that slimy voice from anywhere. I hurriedly hid behind a large rock, that I could tell used to be a wall, as I listened to Dooku’s conversation.
Tumblr media
“And you’ve found nothing?” Dooku voiced to a battle droid.
“Nothing. We’ve looked everywhere.”
“Hmm” Dooku wasn’t so sure, Skywalker wasn’t easily terminated, how ironic it would be for him to be taken out by a simple explosion. He closed his eyes to focus on any life signature, but the only ones he found were weak and they were all similar in some way, confirming they were just feeble clones. And he was about to call this a success until he felt a stronger force signature, and it wasn’t under the rubble, definitely a Jedi. Dooku opened his eyes and looked to his right, looking straight at the stone you were hiding behind, but before he could act his holoprojector went off. “Yes master?”
“Return to your castle, I have more important matters for you to tend to.” A blue tented hooded figure spoke.“Now.” The hooded figure quickly added sensing the hesitation his apprentice gave off.
“Yes, master.” The holoprojector cut off and Dooku called for all the battle droids to fall back, and they left taking their victory. And their victory? The termination of Anakin Skywalker.
Tumblr media
I quickly ducked behind the destroyed wall before Dooku could see me, even though I was certain he could feel me. But to my luck he was called away, I waited for the last separatist ship to fly away and that’s when I left my hiding spot. I started looking around the same area Dooku was to try to find any sign of my master, but there was none. A sickly feeling washed over me, I was close to letting the breakfast I had this morning back up, but was able to keep it down. Though I couldn’t stop my eyes from welling up with tears.
“Master?” I whispered fearfully, my voice not able to speak any louder without cracking.
“Master.” I said a little louder, as the tears started rolling over at this point.
“MASTER! WHERE ARE YOU??!!!” I finally screamed, the tears are now unstoppable and so were the sobs. The cries broke free. I was sobbing uncontrollably, and soon found that my legs were not able to hold my weight anymore as I dropped to my knees. The pain from the rubble that was made up of stone and metal went unnoticed. Bracing my hands against the ground to keep myself up and grounded as much as I could. I started pleading to the force to give Anakin a few more strings of luck, so he could make it out of this alive. So caught up in my own pain, I didn’t even hear the stones moving to my far left, let alone the foot steps.
Tumblr media
After Anakin no longer felt Dooku’s presence and when he was sure he wasn’t coming back he used the force to move the destroyed stones that were surrounding him and some of his troops away from them. And they started climbing their way out from the rubble. After he made it out and helped some of his men out as well he looked around making sure there was no danger as he was catching his breath. When he looked to his right, he spotted his padawan. His padawan who‘s supposed to be on the other side of the explosion sight. What is she doing here?! Dooku and his droids could’ve seen her and he wouldn’t of been able to get out from under the rubble in time. It’s like she does the complete opposite of what he says, to stress him out on purpose. He sighed and started his walk over to his padawan, and when he did he seen and heard the predicament she was in. She was crying? Why is she crying? He wondered if she was injured. She was clutching her hands to her chest, which made him worry even more. He hurried to her side, and as he dropped down next to her, he grasped her shoulders, turning her towards him to look her over.
“What is it? Where are you hurt?” Anakin’s heart was racing at this point as he panicked. All he knew is he needed to help her, but his padawan on the other hand had a different reaction upon seeing him. Regardless of his efforts to get her up she wasn’t moving, and she heard nothing he was saying. All she could do was stare. Her master was alive? How? His force signature was gone and that only means one thing. Death. So how was it her master was kneeling in front of her trying to make sure she was okay? For the second time that day she had to be shook harshly to snap her out of her shock. But it still did no good to help her understand what was going on.
“(Y/n)! What’s wrong?” Silence.
“(Y/n), talk to me!”
“Master?” Was all that she could whisper out.
“Where are you hurt? I can’t help if you don’t tell me.
“You’re alive.”
“Wha-? Yeah? Why wouldn’t I be?”
“The building- I mean you were still inside. Your signature was gone.” Having to explain what she thought happened only brought the tears back, unable to stomach the loss of her master, someone who’s like a father to her, and the closest she would get to having one. The thought of losing him was unbearable, and not to mention against the Jedi code. Attachment was forbidden, and she knew her attachment to Anakin was way more than it should be. She threw herself into him, much to Anakin’s shock. Her face buried in his neck, with her arms wrapped around it as well, as she let the rest of her tears out.
Anakin’s heart broke at the sound of her sobs, they sounded so broken. The original plan was to plant the bombs and get out of there which you were able to do successfully and get to the extraction point unscathed, but the separatists knew about their plan and next thing he knew hundreds of battle droids blocked them in. He was able to keep the ceiling from crushing him and his men around him, and was able to cloak his signature from Dooku. And that meant from everyone else as well, so he could see how that might have scared you. Wrapping his arms around his padawan, he made sure to keep a firm comforting grip, letting her know that he was here and not going anywhere. She cried harder at his promise, she could feel it, he was telling the truth.
Tumblr media
𝟺 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚑𝚜 𝙻𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚛:
It’s been 4 months since the incident, 4 months since I believed my master was dead, 4 months since I’ve had a good nights rest. Ever since the Battle of Aravion I haven’t been able to sleep. Every time I close my eyes my darkest fears come to life. So I do my best to stay awake as long as I can. Some would say that’s unhealthy or dangerous with me fighting in a war and all, but I’m doing fine . . . .mostly.
“Hellooo, Coruscant to Stubs.” I hear my master say as he comes into my line of sight, snapping his fingers in front of my face which I turns snaps me out of my daydream. “You with me?”
“Sorry, Master. What were you saying?” Shaking my head to clear and focus my thoughts.
“I said if you don’t focus you’re going to get stunned, and I’m sure you don’t want that to happen, right?”
“No, master. I’m sorry, master.”
“Sorry?” Anakin mumbled to himself, you never say sorry to anyone even when you are, unless it’s in front of the council or something, you show your apologies more so with actions, not words. And there’s usually a snappy comeback by now. What’s going on with you?
“It’s fine, what’s on your mind?”
“Nothing.” I’ve might’ve said that a little too quickly. Oops.
“Stub, I know you. What’s wrong?” Anakin knows how to get me to crack. It’s just something about his soft voice that makes me feel like he could fix whatever’s going on with me. No matter how big or small. But not this time, my problems will go away on their own. I just hadn’t got the incident through my system is all. After all, part of becoming a Jedi is being able to let go of your personal feelings, and that’s not something that you can’t rely on people for, it’s a matter of you.
“There’s nothing wrong, I was just wondering when our next mission would be. We never stay here at the temple for very long. I guess I’m just a little anxious.”
“Yeah, I was like that too at the beginning of the war, but I just learned to relax whenever I’m given a peaceful moment. It keeps your head clear and it helps keep you balance.”
“I will try.” I took a deep breath as I turned away from my master and walked back to the where the 501 boys were waiting. I got into my starting position, lighting my lightsabers. I had to focus, that was the only way to get Anakin to believe me, so I had to last my usual time or he would know something was definitely up. I gave Rex a nod, letting him know that I was ready. He gave the signal, and for the next three minutes it was going well. Until I was hit in the back, then everything went dark.
Tumblr media
BOOM!!!
I groan as I sit myself up. I must’ve been stunned about 5 or 6 times, my body isn’t usually this stiff after waking up due to growing a tolerance. But wait a minute. Stun shots don’t sound like explosions. I quickly stood up to scan my surroundings only to see I was in the middle of a battle field. I must’ve been hit with a blaster shot, but I didn’t feel any pain besides the stiffness. How did we get onto a battle field, we were just in a training room a few minutes ago.
BOOM!!!
I turned towards the front and could see nothing but fog. I lit my saber and started deflecting the blast that were coming my way. Maybe they couldn’t wait on me to wake up. What was the mission again? Wait. My master would never leave me behind, regardless of the mission, unless it was safer somehow. So where is he? I looked around again and heard a groan this time. I turned to my right to see a trooper. I quickly ran to help in any way I could.
“Trooper! Are you ok?!”
“I’m fine as I can be commander.” He groans.
“What battle is this? What was the mission?”
He coughs harshly. So harsh blood comes up. “The plan was to blow the factory. Groan. I suspect the others have made it there already.” He cuts himself off due to coughing more.
“Help will be here soon trooper stay awake.” I tried comforting him as I squeezed his hand. Trying to keep my emotions at bay.
“They knew we were coming. Gasp. We didn’t stand a chance. But you insisted we go on with the plan. General Skywalker agreed, trusting your judgment. Gasp. Half of us were wiped out. You walked us to our death.” All of a sudden the comms in his helmet we’re getting louder. I heard the screams of the troopers in pain. The yells of orders being thrown out by Rex. The explosion that seemed closer than it should’ve been in the comm, like it was right next to that poor trooper that was unlucky enough to get hit. I back down towards the trooper I was comforting only to see he was deadly still. And I knew he was. His eyes were staring straight up towards the sky. Like he embraced the call of death on his life. I heard the sobs and even looked around to see where they were coming from, but they were coming from me. I did this, all this was my fault. This was my mission, the troops were following my orders, I lead them to their deaths knowing it was a trap to begin with. I hurriedly stood up and started running forward. I moves as fast as I could until I could see the building and could hear the explosions more clear. I ran until I got to the front of the lines using my saber to block incoming blasts, and thankfully as always Rex was there.
“Rex!”
“Commander, you’re alright!”
“Yes. Where’s General Skywalker?!” I had to yell for him to be able to hear me over the sounds of battle.
“He went to set the bombs, he should be back by now.”
“I’ll go help!” But I was stopped, a hand gripping my arm.
“The bombs are about to detonate any second!”
“Anakin is still in there!”
“I’m sorry sir, but I can’t let you go in!” After that statement the building collapsed in a fiery blaze. We were far enough away to feel nothing but the strong wind the explosion put off.
“Rex, hurry and get the tank lifters here. I’m going to find Anakin.” And I took off regardless of Rex’s yells. I made it to the blast sight, but upon arrival Dooku and his mindless droids were there. I hid behind a large rock when I was struck with a hard case of deja vu. This has happened before, maybe the first time was just a vision. The force letting me know everything was going to be ok. I peaked around the corner seeing Dooku talking through a holoprojector to a cloaked figure. After their conversation ended, Dooku ordered all the droids to load up and evacuate. After he left I ran to where I was last time waiting for my master to unmask his signature. When he did I hurried to that area and helped with moving the debris that was around them. After getting him and the troops out safely I walked to my master to check and see if he was ok.
“Master, how are you feeling?” I was a lot calmer then last time, a little too calm. But he’s fine maybe for once things will actually go our way.
“I feel fine, but where were you stubs. We could’ve used your help.” He was out of breath, but still managed to be sarcastic. He was fine. I let out a light laugh.
“Come on master, let’s get you back to the transports so we can get you checked for any brain damage. Well, more than usual.” I smirk and turned to walk off, but felt he wasn’t following, so I turned only to see him standing really stiff.
“Master, what’s wrong?” I was so close to him. My hands were on his shoulders just in case he might fall. Suddenly, a red light pierced through my masters chest and would’ve passed through the top of my head if I hadn’t of moved just in time. Only to realize it wasn’t just a light, it was a lightsaber!
“NO!!!”
As my master dropped to the ground Dooku was standing right there over him. The color of his lightsaber reflecting on his wrinkled face. I paid him no attention though, I ran to my master hoping by some miracle he was still breathing. I lifted him up and moved myself behind him, so he could lean on me, hoping it would give him some kind of comfort. But maybe it was just to comfort myself.
“Master! Master, get up! Get up!” I was trying to pull him up, help him stand, so we could get out of here, but the only response my master gave was falling to the side, hitting the ground. “No! Master, get up. No, no, no, no. Let’s go. Please, let’s go.” Rows of heavy tears rolled down my closed eyes as I was sitting on my knees praying that this wouldn’t be true. I grabbed my masters ungloved hand, still warm though it has only been a couple minutes since it happened. It felt like hours. Dooku didn’t even have the courage to give my master a fighting chance. What coward stabs someone in the back, and calls it a honorable victory. Falling forward, I hugged my masters dead body as I sobbed so loud the stars could hear me across galaxies. My voice coming out in squeaks as I try to tell him how sorry I am, how sorry I was of failing him, how I didn’t see Dooku coming, hoping he would believe me, or at least hear me in the afterlife.
“Feeble child.” Hearing his voice only made me angry. I gripped my sabers and ignited them, quickly turning around striking Dooku down where he stood. And of course he was able to keep himself up, all he did was drop to his knees. But what I planned next no one could walk away from. I slowly stood, and walked towards him tauntingly, I wanted him to know what was coming. Before he could even attempt at grabbing his saber, I made sure to cut through his useless hands. I then lifted my sabers, crossing them at his neck as I looked him in the eyes, pulling my sabers apart. The body dropped and I watched as the severed ball rolled in the opposite direction. I looked down and seen a red lightsaber, but it wasn’t Dooku’s. I looked over to my other saber seeing that they were identical. The red I was seeing was coming from my lightsabers, but I couldn’t find it in myself to care. And unbeknownst to me, my eyes reflected the damage I’ve done as well. A piercing yellow with red rimings, the eyes of a sith.

I gasped as I quickly sat up, looking around. I was able to slow my heart enough and calm my raging brain to notice I was in my room. How’d I get here? Was everything that just happened a dream? There’s was only one way to find out, find Anakin. Fearfully, I got up and walked out of my room, cautiously but quickly searching for my master, too riled and unfocused to use the force. I walked straight across the hallway to his quarters and knocked. It went unanswered, taking it upon myself to open the door, only to find he wasn’t there. Everything left untouched his messy bed from yesterday still in the same state it was, saying he’ll fix it later. I took off to the training room, still nothing. Then to the cafeteria. Nothing. At this point I was starting to worry. I didn’t want the grand masters to see me like this knowing they would sense my fear and unease, but this was Anakin, I’ll risk it. I went to the council room, also empty. This sickly feeling washed over me, and I ran to the closest bathroom. Passing Obi-Wan and Anakin padawan in the process.
“Stub?”
“I thought you said she was resting?” Obi-Wan crossed his arms at his former padawan’s ability to keep up with his own padawan.
“She was. Why is she up this late?” He mumbled, his confused frown deepening as well. Even if she was up, why was she running through the halls? Either her and Ahsoka were sneaking around in the pantries again or something was wrong. Without so much as a warning to Obi-Wan, Anakin took off to follow his padawan. He caught up to her only to see her burst into the women’s restroom.
“She had to use the bathroom.” Obi-Wan stated the obvious.
“Why not just use the one in her room? I think somethings wrong master. She’s been acting strange lately.”
“Anakin, your padawan is your responsibility. You should know why she’s been acting differently.” He scolds.
“I know that, Master. But-”
“But what?”
“She usually comes to me when she’s ready, so I don’t push it.”
“Anything could be going on with her Anakin, whether she wants to or not it’s your job to find out what’s causing her trouble.”
“That’ll just push her further away. I know Stubs, if I push to hard it’ll just delay the progress of her telling me. I know because I’m the same way.”
“You’ve never been that way with me.”
“That’s because I knew you years before I even became your padawan. Stubs and I are only a year in.”
“And you both are already so much alike that you would think the two of you share the same brain.” Anakin rolled his eyes at his masters comment and walked up to the women’s bathroom door, but when he did he could sense waves of fear going through you. He almost walked into the room, turning towards Obi-Wan seeing if he would stop him. It’s not like anyone else was in there, they only felt her.
“I’ll keep watch to make sure nobody else goes in. Go.” Anakin nods, closing his eyes as he walked into the bathroom just in case you were actually using it.
“Stub?” He calls out softly, his voice echoing throughout the walls. His only reply though was the sound of soft gagging. “Stubs?!” He called again this time his eyes are open as he ran and found the stall you were in. It wasn’t even locked. He found you on your knees, head above the toilet dry heaving into it, while also trying to catch your breath. He went to get some paper towels from the dispenser, wet them, then came back to keep your hair out of your face. Once he was sure you were done, he knelt down in front of you and turned you towards him, brushing your hair behind your ears to keep it out the way and started cleaning your face. He was worried, yes, but he knew you didn’t needed him playing 20 questions right now.
“Can you stand?” He spoked as softly as he could.
The whole time you didn’t know who was helping you, you barely noticed someone was there helping you at all. But when your eyes focused as you looked up, a small gasp came from you.
“Master.” A sense of deja vu washed over him.
“Are you able to get up?” He started to panic because tears started rolling over your cheeks. He was about to ask what was wrong but your body slamming into his stopped him, again. Confused? Way more than he was before. Worried? Even more so. Anakin maneuvered you so he was able to pick you up, and carry you out of the bathroom, simultaneously throwing away the paper towels. The door opened and he came face to face with Obi-Wan. Who only gave him a ‘take my advice’ kind of look. Receiving a tired sigh from Anakin.
“I know. I’ll see you tomorrow Master. Good night.” To which Kenobi responded back with a good night of his own.
He made his way back to your room as he constantly looked down at you to check and make sure you were ok. Your eyes were barley open, you looked exhausted, as your head laid in his chest. You should be, he wondered how long it was going to take you to break after not sleeping for months. He was hoping his heartbeat would’ve put you to sleep by now. He knew you thought you were keeping it a well kept secret. That’s the whole reason you both haven’t been on a mission yet, he asked the council to give the both of you a few days off, refusing to let you put yourself in anymore unnecessary danger. He was surprised the council agreed, chalking it up to Obi-Wan putting in a word for him. He could’ve just banned you from coming on missions until you told him what was wrong, but that would’ve just made you retreat and hide your restlessness better. This was the best choice. Making it to your room, the door slid open, and he gently laid you down on your bed. He was about to let you rest and get to the bottom of this in the morning, but your hand quickly grabbed his, keeping him from leaving.
“Don’t go.” You whimpered, breaking his heart of what felt like the thousandth time that night. He complied and released a heavy sigh.
“You have to tell me what’s going on with you Stubs. I’ve given you enough time to figure this all out and tell me what’s going on, but this has gone to far.” He kept his voice low to let her know he wasn’t upset with her just worried. You sat up regardless of him trying to lay you back down but true to your nickname, you’re just stubborn. He stayed where he was kneeling in front of you, letting you have the height of the conversation, physically and metaphorically.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t look him in the eye knowing that I would start crying again.
“I just had a bad dream, that’s all.” Trying to play it off as nothing.
“Yeah. One among the many for the past few months, right?” That caused me to lift my head involuntarily. How did he know?
“How-“
“Look Stubs, I understand what it’s like to have constant nightmares, ok? I just don’t understand why you won’t tell me about them.” He chuckled, an unamused one with a confused frown on his face.
Looking back down towards my bare feet, trying to keep the tears at bay. But failing at that too, a breathless sob breaks out.
“I just- I just don’t understand why they keep coming back! I mean I’m starting to think-” I cut myself off not wanting to speak into existence. Instead, I shoved my face into my hands. I’m not sure I can keep going with these nightmares, they keep getting worse.
“You’re starting to the think they’re visions.” To which I nodded to. “Are they the same dream or is it a different one every time?”
“It’s a different one ever time, but they always have the same outcome. You said you’ve had nightmares before. How did you stop them?
“Tell you what, if I tell you about my dreams, will you feel comfortable enough to tell me about yours?” Anakin didn’t like sharing his past with anybody, but for the sake of getting his padawan to trust him completely, he would do anything. You gave him a nod, to which he nodded back.
“It wasn’t that long ago actually. It was around the very beginning of the clone wars. They were about my mother.”
“Master-“
“And how she died. I didn’t understand it at the time, but they weren’t nightmares. They were visions.”
“I’m sorry, master.”
“I’m not telling you this so you could feel sorry for me. I told you so you would understand when things like this happen you should talk about it to someone not hold it in, because one day you might be able to save a life.”
“But if it is a vision. . .I fail.”
“Not all visions are set in stone. And they can be almost impossible to understand by yourself.” As he explains he reaches out to gently grab her hands giving them a gentle squeeze.
“They’re about you.” Going back to looking down at my feet.
“What about me?”
“You die. And I’m always to slow to save you.” Looking up to see his expression, he doesn’t look scared if anything he looks amused. “Why are you looking at me like that?” I ask confused.
“Is it ok if I see it?”
“How can you do that?”
“Easy. Hold still.” After he says that his hands move to the side of my head, our eyes closed , and our foreheads laying on one another’s as he searches for the memories. When he finds them they suck him in deep, so deep he has to take a deep breath to keep himself grounded. Your fear, your pain, your anger. But right before he pulled away, he was able to see where they all started. Guilt flooded through him. He didn’t realize how much he scared you. He pulled away and moved to sit next to you on the bed. He paused for a moment trying to figure out the best way to reassure you.
“Listen, Stubs. I’m not going anywhere. And I’m sorry I frightened you. Why didn’t you come to me?”
“I was afraid. Everything I was feeling, everything I am feeling is forbidden for a Jedi to feel. And I didn’t want you to look at me any different.” I replied, looking the opposite way shamefully.
“Stub. I am the last person to judge you. I have your back, just like I’m sure you have mine. Whatever I can do to help you, I will do. But I can promise you, I’m not going anywhere. And you don’t have to be scared of that happening anytime soon, or at all for that matter. Understand?”
“Yes, master.” Not giving him time to reply. I threw myself into his side, wrapping my arms tightly around him. He returned the gesture, pulling me into him even more.
“Bed time.” He pulled away, lightly pushing me to lay down, and pulled the blanket over me.
“Master? When’s our next mission?”
“We don’t have any, and we won’t until you’re well rested.”
“Huh?”
“Oh yeah, you don’t know. We won’t be completing any assignments for a while. I requested to take some time off, due to my padawan deciding it’s ok to go into battles with little to no sleep.” He smirked knowingly.
“You knew.”
“Of course I did. Now get some sleep, please.” He replied as he turned to leave.
“Master?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you.”
His playful smirked turned into a soft smile. “Good night, Stubs.”
“Good night, master.” I responded as I laid down already half asleep, ready to catch up on all the months that were missed.

Hi love! Could I request an Anakin X reader where he comforts reader after a panic attack?
Reacting to Reader having a panic attack: (Anakin Skywalker x Reader)
A/N: Of course you can! Here you go. You can thank Ahsoka for breaking me and getting me back into my feels for this disaster of a human being 😅

Anakin is much more a man of action rather than a man of words and will actively look for a practical solution for any problem, including panic attacks.
It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t fully understand them, or that there isn’t necessarily a physical threat that he can fight on your behalf, he will do whatever he can to best help you.
That would include using his trademark sass and boyish jokes to distract you whenever he senses you’re feeling low (something you both love and hate in equal measure).
“Hey, Y/N. I was thinking, how does a moon cut his hair?"
“Anakin… I swear to the maker-"
“-Eclipse it."
It’s easy to see why Obi-Wan started to turn grey the day he took Anakin on as a Padawan.
Then again, as much as you may protest against it, it’s hard to do anything other than laugh at his desperate attempts to cheer you up.
Anakin also creates private rituals for you both to follow whenever you feel an attack creeping up on you.
These include things like going to exercise together, as you find sparring or racing around a local park is a great way to burn off any pent up anxiety (and often leads to you both rolling around on the floor, sweaty and too busy being wrapped up in one another to feel anything other than pleasure).
It also sometimes involves him taking you aside and helping you to ground yourself to him and your surroundings.
It even sometimes involves him crawling into bed and holding you whilst you sleep, knowing his warmth and his presence helps to keep your worries at bay.
On that note, we know he has no problem bending the rules when it comes to those he cares about and you’d be no exception.
Nothing else in the universe matters more to him and your well-being comes before anything else, including the Jedi code.
It doesn’t matter if the council will reprimand him later, if you need him he’ll be there. He’d find a ship and get to you the minute you called, or the minute he sensed your panic through the force.
A smaller thing Anakin would do, is he starts carrying around sour candies for you, knowing how you like them and how they help distract your brain when it starts to feel overwhelmed.
You almost couldn’t believe it the first time he handed one to you without so much as a word. Instead he simply unwrapped one for himself and winked.
You also can’t tell me he wouldn’t be keeping a special eye on you, reaching out at the first sign of trouble, just as he sensed his mother’s distress before. It doesn’t matter if it’s the middle of the night, he’ll call you if he isn’t with you, just to make sure you’re alright.
Even if it isn’t too bad an attack, he would still pull you from any duties you may have for the rest of your day, insisting you rest for a while even if he has to make you.
He also strikes me as the kind of friend who tries to act like they’re less stressed out about your issues than you, but inside is panicking like crazy. So much so, he has to instruct Rex and Ahsoka to keep an eye out for you if he can’t, else he’ll be too worried to ever leave your side in case you need him.
He may or may not have written a very extensive list of things to do and not to do if you ever have one without him - something both privately tease him about...

It’s been an entire week since I shoved a bunch of STAR WARS fic recs at everyone, but I’m back with more because this fandom is amazing and ones that are some real doozies, like, I inhaled some of this fic and absolutely needed to scream about it. Whether it’s time travel fic (so many good time travel recs holy crap) or throwing two random characters together (time traveling Cal as Obi-Wan’s padawan, I never knew I needed that in my life!) or good character pieces for those who deserve it (Mace Windu my beloved) or some absolutely feral Obi-Wan and Anakin dynamics or peeling back Anakin Skywalker’s character like an onion until you see all the fascinating complexity underneath or Jedi Order worldbuilding (I love those weird psychic space wizards so much), there’s a little something for everyone here, I hope. One thing I will always appreciate about this fandom is that, whatever else you might say about it, there are some tremendously talented people writing fic that makes me fall in love with the characters all over again, who bring comfort with their writing when we’re having a bad day or bad week, who brighten up the world just by being in it and sharing their crafts with us, who make my world better just by being there. People who love these silly characters from our shows just as much as I do and are having some fun out there and giving me a whole lot of feelings and even the occasional sexy times fic to make the day just that much more fun to get through. I may say this every time, but it always remains true, this list is just banger after banger for me, every one of these made my brain light up with joy or fizziness because it was so good and punched me right in the feelings or the fun, fritzing out my thoughts place, to the point that I cannot believe I have 45+ of them for just this one set! And I’ll have that same amount to do again next time! There are so many in my to-write-recs for pile! Because this fandom is just nuts with how amazing it is and I love everyone in this bar for it. STAR WARS FIC RECS: PREQUELS RECS: ✦ Unexpected Awakening (The Rewrite) by Rhiw, obi-wan & qui-gon & bruck & feemor & jaster & dooku & rael & cast, time travel, 127.9k wip    The life of General Kenobi is cut short at the hands of his Padawan, but the sight that greets his eyes upon awakening is not that of blinding light of the Force, but the Jedi Temple he knew when he was still a youth. As he struggles to understand the path laid out before him, Obi-Wan unwittingly captures the attention of a singularly unusual Temple Guard, and that of a reluctant Qui-Gon Jinn. ✦ Crazy Centaxday by Killbothtwins, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cody & padme & mace & palpatine & cast, body swap, 4.8k    Anakin and Obi-Wan are having an… out of body experience. Unfortunately, no one seems to be noticing. Fortunately, the Team’s weird shenanigans might be enough to save the galaxy in the end. Just why are Skywalker and Kenobi acting so out of character? ✦ A Jedi’s Cloak by ImperialKatwala, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & cody & rex & cast, 6.4k    Or: Jedi cloaks are weird. Here’s a series of events showing why they’re made that way. ✦ a distant fire is burning by e_va, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cal & cody & cast, time travel, 32.9k wip    Cal Kestis can move backwards in time (kinda-sorta-not really), and his confrontation with Darth Vader in the Fortress Inquisitorius plays out a lot differently. Fixing the timeline while stuck in his 10-year-old body will be quite the task, but Cal is up to it. He has to be. (Obi-Wan, Anakin, and the clone troopers have no idea what to make of Kenobi’s weird new padawan. At least the kid fits in, though.) ✦ all in mail, never clinking by calika, obi-wan & ahsoka, 2.9k    Of course, it’s only after she’s been thoroughly humbled by the deceptively slippery rocks and swallowed what feels like half the stream that her grandmaster, having arrived unnoticed, deigns to speak. ✦ Saving People Counts as Revenge, Right? by ImperialKatwala, dooku & obi-wan & anakin, time travel, 4.3k wip    Count Dooku of Serenno is an intelligent man. His methods may be a bit severe, and he may not be allowed true freedom to plan campaigns in the war he helped create, but he has always had an eye for strategy. Moving the pieces around the board and plotting out where they will need to be next. So, when he opens his eyes after Anakin Skywalker cut his head off, he knows to take a moment to assess what’s going on. ✦ eat well; be well by gingerbeer, rainsoaked_benevolence (oceans_bluem), obi-wan & ahsoka & mace & yoda & shaak & feemor & depa & quinlan & aayla & kanan & jedi cast, 18.6k    Or, Obi-Wan and his (almost full) family gathers to drink tea. ✦ Garberwool by Blue_Sunshine, obi-wan & anakin, 1k    Or: Old Ben Kenobi has a question. Young Obi-Wan Kenobi has a vision. And Darth Vader is left with… a robe. ✦ mazarine by maragny, anakin/aayla, NSFW, 3.6k    Anakin and Aayla take advantage of finally being on the same planet as each other. ✦ a soul that’s born in cold and rain/knows sunlight by Killbothtwins, obi-wan & qui-gon & anakin & cast, time travel, 43.4k    Obi-Wan Kenobi travels back in time to fix things. He also annoys a lot of people. ✦ Patterns Form and Feel Important (It Overwhelms the Nervous System) by ImperialKatwala, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cody & cast, 8.6k    Obi-Wan and his Padawans have been captured. Obi-Wan has been betrayed. Obi-Wan is dead. Obi-Wan is fighting his Padawan. Obi-Wan is being forced to turn on the people he loves. Obi-Wan is locked up and barely holding onto consciousness. All of these things are true. And yet only one of them is real. ✦ from the wild winds around you by gingerbeer, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cast, 2.3k    Or, the Mortis arc goes a little bit sideways. (It’s fine. Don’t worry.) ✦ Creché Duty by sadieadlersimp (ethantorchiomybeloved), anakin & grogu & cast, 1.3k    Anakin Skywalker gets put in charge of the toddlers while Yoda attends an emergency council meeting. Surely the Chosen One can handle a few toddlers, no? (Spoiler alert, he can’t.) ✦ On Hugs and Warm Blankets by moonlightpadawan, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cast, 1.3k    [or: Anakin’s reaction to pain meds leaves him acting overly affectionate.] ✦ Lightsaber Lesson by AdaliaK, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 3.1k    Anakin and Ahsoka’s relationship goes through some growing pains when Anakin disciplines Ahsoka by taking away her lightsaber. Obi-Wan is an amused bystander. ✦ Last Rites by Siri_Kenobi12, obi-wan & ahsoka & mace & cast, 3k    “I’m so sorry Ahsoka.” He said after a moment with a slight tremble in his voice. “I know from experience how it feels to have someone you love die in your arms. To feel them take their last breath…” Obi-Wan is back from the dead, he tries to help his Grand-Padawan through her grief. ✦ deep cuts by gigglesandfreckles, anakin & satine (referenced obi-wan/satine), 3.8k    [or: anakin ends up on a mission with satine, things are tense.] ✦ How to Train your Droid by hellowkatey, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & rex, 2.9k    A bored and michevious Anakin Skywalker is a recipe for something to go awry. After all, reprograming Artoo’s language core is a great idea for a prank… but it turns out, Artoo has a lot to say. OBI-WAN/ANAKIN RECS: ✦ Electric Love by thedeadparrot, obi-wan/darth vader, NSFW, 3.4k    Vader stepped forward, deeper into the cell, and reached out one hand. It pressed against Obi-Wan’s tunic, clean metal meeting dirty fabric. Vader’s suit only had the most rudimentary of sensors – he preferred to use the Force over his physical hands. But this was Obi-Wan Kenobi offered up for him, and nothing less than physical touch would do. ✦ Redolent of you by Himboskywalker, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, omegaverse, undercover mission, 15.5k wip    Anakin and Obi-Wan are sent on an undercover operation as an alpha and omega bonded pair in the middle of the Clone Wars. Someone on Cantonica is funneling credits to the Separatists, and it’s going to take infiltrating a top secret alpha-supremacist group of Core elites to find out who’s upping the financial ante of the entire war. This act of espionage is going to require some class A play at antiquated alpha and omega dynamics, only problem is Anakin has never submitted in his life and it’s certainly not within his nature,or so Obi-Wan thinks. ✦ tender like a bruise by stardies, obi-wan/anakin & cast, NSFW, omegaverse, 15k wip    In a stroke of desperation, Obi-wan mates Anakin Skywalker by force on the fiery planet of Mustafar to stop his Fall and save his life. Taken back to Coruscant and imprisoned, Anakin feels the senate’s pressure for justice, and Obi-wan, his mate and former mentor, is determined to give him another chance. ✦ Neutron star collision by thedunesea, obi-wan/anakin & cast, NSFW, 113k wip    In the aftermath of Order 66, Anakin Skywalker’s miraculous survival after his confrontation with the new Sith Apprentice Darth Vader ignites a sparkle of hope in the remaining Jedi, in the fledgling rebellion and, above all, in his former Master, who thought he had lost everything to darkness. But darkness is generous, and it is patient. ✦ How to Save a Galactic Republic Without Really Trying by Sharp_Tongue, obi-wan/anakin & mace & quinlan & cast, nsfw, time travel, 23.9k    After defeating Vader on a barren, nameless moon, Obi-Wan had let go of the past. But the past hadn’t let go of him. ✦ Heal Me, My Darling by wasureneba, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 12.4k    Anakin gets sick. Obi-Wan takes care of him. For two weeks. Alone. ✦ Suckerpunch by intermundia, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 13.6k    In this universe, Obi-Wan goes to check on Anakin about Clovis after Anakin’s violent altercation with his rival, instead of before, and everything changes. Padmé has already kicked him out for scaring her, and he’s in a crisis of loneliness and grief. He breaks down, and Obi-Wan is there to pick up the pieces, even if the weight of Anakin’s crimes is too heavy to imagine. ✦ Slow Learner by Is0lde, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 12.6k    Four times Anakin tried to fit Obi-Wan’s big dick inside him and one time he managed it. ✦ Hold Fast by Ripki, obi-wan/anakin & padme & cast, nsfw, time travel, 41.4k    The Republic and the Jedi Order have fallen, people everywhere facing a dark future. His world shattered, Obi-Wan tries to change the fate of the whole galaxy – and not least because he cannot let go of the man he loves. But will Anakin hinder or help him? ✦ Baby, It’s Halloween (And We Can Be Anything) by secretsolarsystem, obi-wan/anakin & cast, NSFW, modern au, 5.3k    Anakin goes to his office’s annual Halloween party, looking hot as hell and fully intending to get drunk with his work friends. He can hardly enjoy himself, though, seeing as his work crush never comes to the office parties. ✦ For He, too, is King by MayMeows, obi-wan/anakin & padme & cast, NSFW, historical au, 7.7k    “I am here to present myself to the man who now calls himself King of my people.” ✦ pure uncomplicated love by TheSopherfly, obi-wan/anakin & cast, NSFW, modern au, 4.2k    Hours before he’s due to arrive at Open Circle Studios’ annual celebration, screen actor Anakin Skywalker finds out that his ex, Obi-Wan Kenobi, will be in attendance. Anakin wishes he could be angry—but all he wants is for Obi-Wan to take him back. ✦ Fever by dirkygoodness, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, nyanakin, 3.5k    Obi-Wan wakes up to a cuddly (Ny)Anakin and is met with something he isn’t expecting. He’s going to have to deal with it though. And enjoy himself as he does. ✦ Hooked on You by whohatessand, obi-wan/anakin & padme & bail, NSFW, modern au, infidelity, 5.2k    With his wife’s approaching senatorial election, Anakin Skywalker tries desperately to be the perfect husband she needs. Little does Padmé know, her husband has been sleeping with her campaign manager, Obi-Wan Kenobi, for quite a while now. ✦ The Same Cloth (in foreign stars) by Himboskywalker, obi-wan/anakin & dooku & quinlan & cody & rex, NSFW, historical au, 11.1k wip    Welcome to 18th century Scotland, the only thing Anakin likes here is Obi-Wan Kenobi in a kilt. ✦ such selfish prayers (and i can’t get enough) by decideophobia, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, ~1k    He keeps taking whatever Anakin offers him: takes it with possessive hands, a greedy heart and a gluttonous soul, and the dying embers of a guilty conscience. ✦ sail through the deep, the dark of space by treescape, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, space pirates au, 2.7k    They slipped in and out with the Empire none the wiser. Well, it was more like they crashed in and out with the Empire a lot the wiser, but in the end it was really the same thing—not that Anakin expected Obi-Wan would see it that way. ✦ Of Devotion and Defilement by al_mp4, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, d/s, punishment, 5.3k    Anakin Skywalker wants to be good, to be useful, yet it seems he can only beg for pleasures he doesn’t deserve. ✦ Prompted - Chapter 21: Beer and Paint by intermundia, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, modern au, 6.1k    Artists AU, drunk sex. ✦ and when you look at me, the weight of how i feel is heavy on me by brahe, obi-wan/anakin & ahsoka & mace & depa & cast, nsfw, 37.9k    5 times Anakin asks Obi-Wan to marry him, and one time Obi-Wan asks ✦ stay til the dawn, i’ll give you the sun by tennessoui, obi-wan/anakin & cast, NSFW, royal!obi-wan, 40.2k    Jedi Anakin Skywalker crashes in a field on the planet Stewjon. Out of respect for the Jedi Order, King Kenobi takes a personal interest in his recovery…especially when they accidentally form a Force bond, scant hours after Kenobi alerts the Jedi Council to Skywalker’s presence so they can come retrieve their Jedi. But if Anakin can’t remember who he is, is he really still their Jedi? What’s stopping him from being Obi-Wan’s? ✦ short shallow gasps by mysticmjolnir, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, modern au, d/s, spanking, daddy kink, 4.9k    Obi-Wan gets surprised by Anakin when he comes home from work. ✦ illicit affairs by Urgirl415, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 2.2k    Anakin needs something that Obi-Wan is more than willing to provide. Even if it means having his doorbell rung in the middle of the night. Or, Anakin cheats on Padme with Obi-Wan. The attachment issue, Luminara and Anakin
So you know there is moment in clone wars where Barris and Ahsoka get buried under a ton of rocks and their teachers argue about how going rescuing her.
This moment I believe was made to show the problem when the attachment part of the code gets interpreted to it´s extreme conclusion imo.
Here Luminara talks to Anakin about his "attachment issues" that he needs to "let his apprentice go" obey the "will of the force" etc and you know, in normal circunstances, she would not be wrong about telling Anakin "letting go" of people who died some years or even days ago even if it definitely is insensitive and the last thing a grieving person would like to hear at that moment.
Tumblr media
The problem here is that she is already talking about Barris and Ahsoka as if they were already dead mere minutes after being buried by rocks and in this particular case, not looking for them after a crash like that, could count as the reason WHY they died, in these cases time is essential to rescue as much people as you can because their oxigen could be cut or they could be crusched etc and I believe a Jedi Master like Luminara would be aware of this but she is too busy criticizing Anakin on his "attachment issues" instead of looking for both padawans with her jedi senses.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Anakin is so used of this happening of having this discussion with the Jedi Order, that he no longer argues with Luminara, he already had this same discussion with Obi-Wan hundreds of times so instead he barely pays her attention because HE IS TOO BUSY looking for Ahsoka to make sure she is still alive to RESCUE HER AND BARRIS but he also takes the time to comfort Luminara when she believes Barris is already dead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For her part Barris is already getting ready to die almost as if it´s the WILL OF THE FORCE, it isn´t, this made me sad because she truly ressembled the clones who told Plo Koon about no one going looking for them because they are expendable, in Barris case it isn´t the will of the force, she is giving out way too early and is telling Ahsoka to do the same but they are Jedi, they are trained, they can try to scape or call their masters for help which is what Ahsoka does because that´s what Anakin teached her.
Tumblr media
In the end Luminara IS HAPPY for getting her padawan back but she still believe she was 100 % right about giving anakin the attachment issue talk not considering the actual circunstances at all, Anakin is happy because Ahsoka and Barris are alive and Ahsoka is happy because she is alive and her master came for her just like he said he would in cases like this one.
Tumblr media
But you know who ISN´T COMPLETELY HAPPY? Barris, she is grateful for being alive but she also expected, maybe, a little more worry from her master? who she loves as a mother?
I love how this goes unsaid because before this incident Barris was criticizing Anakin as well, about his "war mongering ways" and while she has not changed her oppinion about him she looks a little bit jealous of the kind of relationship Anakin and Ahsoka have, not because she wants Anakin to be her master, in fact Anakin and Barris are almost the same age but because she would like to have that kind of relationship with Luminara.
Tumblr media
This is what I meant when I sa that while in theory the Jedi code is functional, in practice and in it´s interpretation it´s become unbalanced and it´s become a reason for the Jedi lose their balance as well because they have become so dettachted, they have become used to let their own or other people die way too early imo and this is part of why Anakin really could not agree with them, people should care for others, after all that´s what his Mom teached him "the biggest problem in the galaxy is that no one helps each other" right? and in this particular moment he is 100 % right and gets to rescue everybody, for his worry and compassion, those are some of his best qualities and as a jedi he put them in practice to honor his mother.
This also brings the question, does Anakin have attachment issues or he has a problem with the Jedi interpretation of attachment? some food for thought.

Anakin Skywalker x Jedi!Reader
Link to Chapter 28
Warnings: literally nothing, protective Ani, tiny bit of reader angst (as I have mentioned before--things are getting darker, and also, clone wars plots are not a thing in this)
Summary: As you and Anakin prepare to enter the battle on Felucia, your continuing nightmares complicate your relationship with your Master
Word Count: 3k
"Yuma," Master Windu said in a serious tone, "you have the floor."
You quickly pulled your head up, snapping your mind back into attention. You stood in the middle of the council chambers, atop the High Council Tower, surrounded by the seated council members. You'd rarely been in this room—under normal circumstances, you would have been reverent, and fully focused.
But you felt the worried presences around you now as if your head was in a beehive. The buzz of the different feelings and thoughts had started to drown out the spoken words of the council members. The hum around you had even begun to drown out your own anxiety about why you had been called to this meeting—you were desperate to return to the field, but you had a sneaking suspicion that Master Yuma was not about to let you participate in this new mission without a fight. The hum swelled, as if many people were speaking, rather than one person. You shook your head, trying to block it all out. You knew you needed to focus.
"Thank you," Master Yuma said, giving you a brief and significant look before addressing the other council members. "Though I have already made my thoughts clear on this subject, I find my must repeat myself—while Y/N's force abilities have been an asset to us in the past, it is my position that under the current circumstances, they will be a liability on the battlefield. Given her experience with Count Dooku on Geonosis, I firmly believe that she should not be asked to serve in this war until we are able to make more progress with her...enhanced empathic abilities."
You felt your face flush with anger and defiance, but you worked to control your reaction. You kept your eyes blank, glancing at Yuma's worried face before looking beyond her, out the window toward the teeming city below. You breathed in and out. You wiped yourself of emotion, pulling your Force presence densely and minutely into yourself.
"With all due respect, Yuma," Master Plo Koon replied, looking between you and your former Master, "isn't Y/N the one who saw through Count Dooku's pretenses before the war even started? If we had listened to her warnings—"
"I am not trying to belittle nor diminish my former Padawan's abilities," Master Yuma quipped harshly, cutting off the end of Master Plo's sentence. "I, more than anyone else, understand that her abilities far outstrip many in the order. But it is the nature of her abilities, not their potency, that we must consider now. She is not ready to face the realities of war."
You kept still, allowing yourself to focus outward and take in the presences around you. You didn't turn around to look at them all, but you felt in the minds of the council members that Yuma's words were falling on deaf ears. Your insides grew spiky at the thought—with fear, or with excitement, you did not yet know. You held your breath.
"Your perspective on this is valuable, Yuma," Master Windu replied, his voice full of authority. He turned to Yuma and leaned closer, his tone pacifying. "But we cannot afford to spare either of you any longer. The situation on Felucia has worsened. This could turn the tide of the war altogether." At his words, you felt Yuma's frustration swell, and something else rising in her presence. It felt like electricity, shocking her from her insides. It was panic, you realized.
"Agree with Master Windu on this, I do," Master Yoda stated in his sage voice. "Worthy of our faith, Y/N has proven herself to be." You turned to look at Master Yoda, feeling a burst of affection. Why could Master Yoda find it within himself to have faith in you, when your own Master could not?
"Very well," you heard Yuma reply shortly, and you avoided her eyes, turning instead to look at Obi-Wan, who sat on the other side of the circle, his legs crossed casually.
"Perhaps," Obi-Wan said, meeting your gaze before turning to face Yuma, "Y/N might better serve under your leadership on this mission." You wrinkled your eyebrows, confused. "As Commander," Obi-Wan clarified, "of the 415th." The 415th was Master Yuma's clone battalion.
"We have new battalions that need leadership," Master Windu protested, but Master Yoda held up a small, wrinkly hand.
"Time to train a new battalion, there is not," Master Yoda said. "Right, Obi-Wan is. For the moment, serve as Commander Y/N will."
"If she does well," Obi-Wan said, a twinkle in his eye, "she can advance in rank when we return from Felucia."
"Right," Master Windu agreed, his intimidating stare lingering over you for a moment before he looked down at his holopad. "It's settled, then. Now, we have other business to attend to before we adjourn. Y/N, you are excused."
Tumblr media
"Commander," you whispered angrily, "is the rank of a Padawan."
"At least you're coming with us," Anakin whispered back, giving your hand a small and inconspicuous squeeze. The two of you hurried toward the hangar, your Jedi cloaks sweeping behind you.
"As if I am not the youngest Knight in recent memory," you continued, like he hadn't said anything. Anakin sighed. "As if I am not more skilled than half of the generals in the Army of the Republic."
"You're more skilled than all of the generals," Anakin replied, his face forming a small, teasing smirk. "Present company excluded, of course."
"Then why?" you continued, Anakin's attempts at distracting you failing miserably. "Why does Master Yuma treat me like I'm weak? Like I need protecting?"
Anakin didn't respond. The truth was, you did need protecting. Anakin knew it, and so did Yuma. Your empathy, for all its uses in interrogation, in meditation, in spiritual practice, was dangerous when it came to war. Your tendency to hesitate before the kill, your reluctance to make the difficult choices required of a soldier, your inability to face darksiders without succumbing to their influence—all of these things meant that you were not to be trusted on the battlefield, at least, not on your own. And it was a good thing that you would not be on your own, Anakin reasoned, looking at your face as you huffed along beside him, your angry pout causing a warm and spiraling feeling to rise in his torso. You would be with him, and he could protect you. That was all that mattered.
"Yuma is overreacting," Anakin said quietly as the two of you emerged out of the blast doors and onto the large hangar. This, he thought, was at least a partial truth. "Because she's worried about you." Anakin leaned away from you and took a step to the side, making sure none of the clones that littered the hangar would have any reason to suspect his relationship with you was anything more than professional.
"But you aren't," you said, turning to Anakin and giving him a blazing stare, your eyes piercing. "Right? You have faith that I can do this?" Anakin's insides flipped. How he had assumed he could keep his thoughts to himself around you, after knowing you so long, he didn't know.
"Of course you can do this," Anakin replied swiftly, taking a tentative step toward you and holding your gaze. "I know you can do this." And he wasn't lying, not really. The two of you, together, could most certainly take on any battalion, droid or otherwise.
You stared at Anakin for a brief moment, narrowing your eyes, looking for any sense of falsehood. Anakin gulped. Then the sound of familiar footsteps interrupted your standoff, and he watched you subtly take a step away from him, putting on a casual demeanor.
"Are you ready?" Obi-Wan asked, glancing at Anakin before turning attentively to look down at you, paying you extra attention. You nodded fervently, and Anakin saw a hint of irritation cross your face.
"Where's Yuma?" you asked, keeping this frustration from entering your voice.
"Already aboard, assembling the 415th," Obi-Wan answered, looking more closely at your face, as if to make sure you were okay. You nodded at him, keeping your face stoic, but Anakin noticed a bit too much color in your cheeks. Obi-Wan turned to face him. "Anakin, you'll need to assemble the 501st on the right flank vessel," Obi-Wan instructed, "and then meet us for briefing on the command ship."
"Right," Anakin said, his mind snapping back into leadership mode. It was hard to reconcile these two sides of him—the side he was with you, and the side he was with his clones, his soldiers.
After making sure Rex had his battalion accounted for and in tip top shape according to protocol, Anakin boarded the command ship, walking swiftly through the halls as the vessel took off. As he approached the forward command center, he heard voices.
"...just want to make sure you understand the gravity of the situation," he heard Yuma's voice say.
"I understand, Master," Anakin heard you reply, your voice devoid of color. Anakin pressed the panel on the wall and the door opened. You and Yuma stood on opposite sides of the command deck, all but glaring at one another. Obi-Wan's tired face emerged between you. Next to Obi-Wan stood Marlo, the captain of Yuma's clone force.
"Good, we're all here," Obi-Wan said, nodding to Anakin. "Yuma, if you please."
"Of course," Yuma replied, turning away from you somewhat reluctantly. "As you all know, the situation on Felucia has come to a critical point." Yuma summoned a memory chip from atop the navicomputer with the Force, dexterously catching it between her fingers and sliding it into a spot beneath the command center's holo-deck. A holographic display of the Felucian terrain rose from the deck's consol. "The separatist army has taken control of the eastern front, and with it, they've gained control of the farming villages on this side of the river." Yuma pointed out the snaking form of the body of water in the middle of the hologram. "Our forces have managed to hold the line here, keeping control of the Commerce Guild headquarters, but the droid armies continue to launch attacks on the front." Yuma stood up straight, eyeing her fellows, taking on the posture of General. "If we lose the headquarters, we lose the planet, and with it the Perlemian trade route."
"Once we arrive with our reinforcements, it shouldn't be hard to retake the eastern villages," Anakin said, cocky as ever. Yuma shook her head.
"You mustn't underestimate the jungle environment. We're losing Clones to more than droids on Felucia." Yuma's face was tight.
"What does that mean?" you asked, looking between Yuma and Obi-Wan.
"It means poisonous fauna," Obi-Wan answered, stroking his beard and looking down at the holographic map, deep in thought. "It means disease, and bugs. It means jungle rancors," Obi-Wan looked up at you all somberly. "We'll need to strategize around the limitations of the planet."
"Certainly," Master Yuma agreed. "Now, I suggest all of us retire to get as much sleep as possible during the journey. Rest will be hard to come by once we arrive." You nodded, your eyes glazed over. Anakin took a step closer to you as Obi-Wan turned away to give orders to the pilots. Yuma continued to converse in hushed tones with Marlo, discussing various possible strategic maneuvers.
"Just like old times," Anakin whispered, feigning an unserious tone. You didn't look up. Your eyes were unfocused, clouded. Anakin reached for your arm, giving it a small shake.
"Except for, you know. A galactic war," you responded slowly, finally focusing your eyes in on his face, giving him a small smile.
"That," Anakin said quietly, glancing at Obi-Wan's turned back before reaching up to stroke your cheek, "and, now I can do this." Anakin watched your face relax as he softly pulled his fingers across your jaw, gently placing his thumb on your bottom lip.
"Rest," Anakin heard Master Yuma's voice repeat from behind him, and the two of you quickly stepped away from each other, blushing.
Tumblr media
You were running through a hot, arid desert, your skin scorched from the sun, your face bruised. You screamed into the hot, dry wind—for Anakin, for your Master, for anyone who could come and help you—but you heard no response. The dry air caused you to choke, and you fell down onto the ground...through the ground.
You were topsy turvy, wrong side up. You fell through space until you landed, with a thud, on a snowy planet. Men in unfamiliar white uniforms surrounded you, and you put your hands up, as if to block your face. Where was your lightsaber? You felt your side, but couldn't find your weapon in time—the men started to shoot. You saw the light from the bullets...
You blinked, and suddenly, you were surrounded by lava. Someone was coming, you knew, someone you needed to fear. You looked around, wondering where to hide. You blinked tears out of your eyes. It was all too much, this anger, this hate, this horrible feeling. It felt like everything in you was burning, like everything was wrong, like nothing would ever again be right. You felt a lurch somewhere in your middle.
You blinked again, and suddenly, you were staring into a pair of bright, violet eyes, intent on the kill...
"No!" you screamed, sitting up with a start, flailing your arms in the air, looking around for some weapon, for something with which you could defend yourself. You breathed heavily, gasping, trying to figure out where you were.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to disturb you," you heard a familiar voice say. You blinked again, pushing your sweaty hair away from your face. Your breathing calmed slightly.
You were in your bunk, on the command ship, and Yuma was entering to sit on the bunk across from yours. The dreams that had plagued you for months flashed again through your mind, but you quickly pushed the thoughts out of your head, pulling into yourself, sucking your presence out of the air.
"It's okay," you said, quickly, swinging your legs off the bunk so you could face your former Master. "What is it?" You avoided Yuma's eyes, feeling the worry in her presence fill the cabin.
"I wanted to make sure..." Yuma began, her voice sounding hesitant. You finally looked up to meet her gaze. "I wanted to see if everything was okay," Yuma corrected.
"Everything's fine," you said in a calm voice. You knew you weren't fooling anyone. Your hands were still shaking. You clasped them on your lap, trying to calm yourself.
"I also wanted to make sure you knew," Yuma continued, watching you carefully. "That my reluctance for you to join me and my batallion has nothing to do with my estimation of you, as a fighter or as a Knight." This was a loaded statement. You knew there was more in Yuma's presence behind these words.
"I know," you said, in a mollifying tone. You had to remind yourself to breathe.
"With great power," Yuma said, staring you in the face with her kind eyes, sparkling as they did against the gold rings in her braids, "Often comes a great burden. You are very powerful, Y/N. You thus have a great burden to carry."
"I know," you repeated, your voice shrinking.
"That is why it will be crucial, while in the midst of battle, for you to follow my orders exactly." At these words, you felt a flame spark inside you—the flame of the old resentment, the frustration that had grown in the six months you'd been benched from the field.
"I know," you responded flatly, staring at the wall. Yuma's presence softened.
"Is there anything...you feel the need to confide in me?" Yuma asked quietly, and you felt in her presence that she was dwelling on your nightmares, the visions you'd accidentally shown her in the meditation room, and the visions that she had read from you in your sleep. Yuma's perception through the Force was flawed when compared with your own—she didn't read the fully formed images, thoughts, or feelings from you. Instead she read an echo, as if she were watching your thoughts through muddy glass, or as if she heard the inferior version echoed across a large cave. She didn't know the true essence of what plagued you in your sleep.
For a moment you wanted to confide in her—tell her everything that you'd seen, tell her how deep the fear and terror was in each of your dreams. You wanted to cry into her shoulder and allow her to stroke your hair, the way she used to. You wanted her to tell you everything would be okay. But you held back—you knew that not even Master Yuma could make all of this okay. And you didn't want her to think you weak, not now, when you were finally being allowed to join in combat, against her wishes. You felt yourself close a shell around your vulnerability. You wanted to prove to Yuma that you could be a true soldier.
"No," you said, trying to be convincing, but failing. "I'm ready for this," you added, swallowing as you looked into Yuma's eyes.
"I know you are," Yuma said, smiling warmly at you and patting your head softly as she stood. Behind these words, Yuma's presence was unsure, fearful. You sighed.
"You should get some sleep," you told Yuma, and she nodded, taking this as her cue to leave your quarters. She walked to the door and pressed the panel on the wall.
"Rest well," Yuma said softly, turning back to look at you before exiting into the hallway of the ship.

Xanatos/Cody - Love at 1st Snark
“Oh, stars and stupid little birds,” Obi-Wan says, entirely exasperated. “Why did it have to be you?”
Cody raises his head from where he’s been trying to chew through the gag. Anything that can get his general sounding like that promises to be entertaining, to say the least.
“It’s pronounced thank you, little brother,” a posh-sounding voice—no Coruscanti accent, but something more liquid, a lot less Core, which is interesting—says, precisely aimed to cause maximum irritation. “And I take payment in credits or peggats, whichever you have on you at the moment.”
“I'm naked,” Obi-Wan says, offended. “Clearly I don’t have any credits, Xanatos—”
“A shame. I suppose I’ll have to leave you to Hondo, then.” Steps sail past Obi-Wan’s cell, and there's a curse, the sound of struggling, but they don’t turn back. Cody raises a brow, and a moment later the fancy bastard who matches the voice sweeps around to the door of his cell, raises a lightsaber with a gleaming white blade, and brings it down sharply. The door thumps down flat, and Xanatos steps over it, then sweeps a look over Cody, brows rising.
“Well hello,” he says. He purrs, and Cody levels a brow right back. It makes Xanatos grin, sauntering into the cell.
“He doesn’t have any credits either, Xanatos!” Obi-Wan calls from the other cell, annoyed.
“For him I’ll make an exception, and rescue him out of the goodness of my heart,” Xanatos calls back, smirking at the sound of offense it gets him. Sinking down to one knee, he pulls a very nice knife from his sleeve, then leans in to cut through Cody's gag, and then says, “You will be repaying my altruism, I presume. You don’t seem as rude as Obi-Wan.”
Cody doesn’t laugh, just leans to the side so he can spit the gag out, then says, “Of course. Wouldn’t want anyone’s altruism to be without some kind of benefit, right?”
“Obi-Wan!” Hondo says, loudly and delightedly, from the next cell. “My friend, you seem to be in a bind! Perhaps this old pirate can help you out?”
“If my choices are you or him, you’d be my first choice every time, Captain,” Obi-Wan says sincerely.
Xanatos rolls his eyes, moving to deactivate Cody's binders. “I don’t know why I bother,” he says. “This whole family is a nightmare. I should have run away when I was fifteen and joined a circus.”
“You’d make a beautiful clown,” Cody tells him gravely, and surprise washes over his face for an instant before he laughs.
“Thank you, I like to think so too.” Getting a hand under Cody's arm, he tugs him to his feet, then asks, “Every limb still attached?”
“All the important ones,” Cody says mildly. “Commander Cody, thanks for the save.”
It gets him a lazy smile, full of intent. “Xanatos, with the 501st, but I think you can call me whatever you like.”
If this is the Jedi Rex has been refusing to introduce Cody to, Cody's going to have to turn Rex upside down and dunk his head in dye or something. “Yeah? That include—?”
“Cody. You don’t even know where he’s been.”
“Sorry, General,” Cody says, not sorry at all. When Xanatos sweeps his fur-trimmed cloak off and offers it, he takes it with dignity, slinging it around his shoulders.
“Well now,” Xanatos says, and that smirk is an invitation. “That’s quite the look, Commander. Makes me want to lay you down in front of a roaring fireplace—”
“Xanatos.”
“I think if we keep scandalizing the general, he might have a coronary,” Cody says gravely. “Be a shame to rob Hondo of his company.”
“You’re right, of course.” Xanatos offers Cody his arm, and, wholly amused, Cody takes it like he’s a senator at a fancy gala. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
“I'm going to toss you out an airlock,” Obi-Wan says crossly, limping down the corridor to join them. Hondo has one of Obi-Wan’s arms pulled over his shoulder, and his hat is askew. “You’d better not have dragged Feemor along—”
“Oh no, my dear padawan brother,” Xanatos says airily. “I brought Qui-Gon.”
Obi-Wan blanches, at in the same moment, something distant explodes, shaking the whole base.
“Time to run,” Xanatos advises Cody, and takes off, hauling Cody right along with him.

[Anakin Skywalker x Padawan!Fem Reader]
Masterlist | Wattpad | AO3 Not My Code Masterlist
Summary: You were certain that the Order would never make itself known to you again until your communicator woke you up. You find out that Anakin has stepped onto a path he shouldn't have.
Tumblr media
Warnings: angst | hurt | descriprions of pain | mentions of injuries | kissing | subtle sexual references | fluff Author Note: So, the inevitable has come – the finale! I can't believe it's over already – NMC has brought me immense joy, but it's now wrapped up, exactly in the way I envisioned this ending from the start. So, my dear ones – play Duel of the Fates and I invite you to enjoy the read! Word Count: 3,3k
When the first signal on your comlink sounded, you were so groggy that you thought you were still dreaming. You slept through the night without a single interruption, unable to determine whether it was due to emotional exhaustion from the previous day or thanks to Anakin's warm embrace, ensuring your utmost comfort until you fell asleep. In any case, you wanted to continue your carefree rest and reached out for Anakin, who should have been lying on your left. Well, he should have been. You groped around for him but only encountered a cold pillow, the realization of which made you instantly open your eyes.
"Ani?" you called out in a slightly hoarse, 'morning' voice, but all you heard in response was dead silence. Rubbing your eyes, you noticed that his side of the bed was in disarray. Completely disoriented, you took a few steps to see that his boots were missing by the door, and the coat you sometimes borrowed from him was absent from the wardrobe when you needed a quick cover-up. Trusting that he had just stepped out for a moment, you decided to go to the kitchen and grab something to eat. However, once again, you heard a sound that seemed like a dream – the sound of the communicator.
"Um… Who's speaking?" you asked, answering the call blindly. "It's Rex." you heard from the other side, and you couldn't hide your confusion. "Rex? What's going on? Why…"
"Ma'am, I'm afraid something really bad has happened." The captain cut into your words, and you instantly felt a chill running down your spine. It was a tone you definitely didn't like. "What happened?" you asked, becoming increasingly certain that what you were about to hear would cause you considerable pain. "It's about Anakin. Please come to the Temple, preferably as soon as possible."
You froze for a moment, envisioning hundreds of possible scenarios at once when you heard Rex's words. Did someone harm him? Is he in danger? You didn't want to get worked up, but you felt like you were panicking more and more.
"Rex, I'll do everything in my power, but please tell me, what happened? Did someone hurt him? Is he injured?" You could only think of him. Only about how maybe he wanted to avenge yesterday's events and got into a fight, that someone laid a hand on him. You didn't want to imagine it, not when you couldn't be there for him, when he might need you.
"I don't know about him, but there are wounded. There are also dead." .....................................................................................................................
You've never been more grateful for the existence of air taxis in Coruscant than now - if it weren't for the available fare, you probably wouldn't have had a way to reach the Temple. You were surprised when you noticed Anakin's ship wasn't on the landing platform when you disembarked, but the Captain you had been communicating with just a few minutes ago was waiting for you right at the entrance.
"I arrived as fast as I could… I thought I'd find Anakin's ship, but…"
"Ma'am, you need to know something, now." Rex caught you by your arms, interrupting whatever you were about to say.
"I'm not waiting." You replied, hearing muffled cries from a distance.
"We had a massacre here… Obi-Wan and Padmé went after Anakin, and he… lost his mind." Your insides boiled upon hearing the Captain's words.
"How did he lose his mind?? Where is he at all??? And what about… Padmé?" You weren't surprised that Anakin struggled to say her name - over time, you found yourself feeling the same way as your attachment to him strengthened, and jealousy grew in equal measure.
"On Mustafar, Ma'am. The Senator didn't get clearance, she shouldn't have been there, but…"
"Of course, she shouldn't have been there." At this point, you tried unsuccessfully to break free from the Captain's grip.
"Let me go, I need to…"
"This could be deadly danger for you, you can't…"
"If so, am I to understand that he is also in deadly danger?" You cut Rex off before he could finish his warning. "I'm afraid…"
"Don't finish. If he dies - I die too." You looked deeply into the captain's eyes before he released his grip and you could return to the landing platform.
"Please, be careful." he called after you, and you turned around to nod in gratitude. Among all the ships parked on the platform, you chose the one you were most familiar with, wasting no time as you jumped into the vehicle. Before even slamming the door shut, you punched the coordinates into the console. You had no idea what you would find, and your heart was pounding - not because you're heading towards the most fervent planet in the galaxy, not because you're flying completely unarmed - but because you're afraid you might lose him. ..................................................................................................................... You landed on the platform near the command chamber - there you also noticed two ships familiar to you, which you almost brushed against when positioning your own. As you stepped out, you almost recoiled from the heat - you had only been on this planet once, and its atmosphere sent shockwaves through your body. However, you quickly felt that the physical heat was a minor inconvenience - you felt a boiling sensation in your veins when you saw Padmé sitting at the end of the platform next to Obi-Wan's parked ship. The senator had her hands on her head, and although her posture wasn't standard, you could have ignored her and continued, but at this moment, you needed to know one thing - where is Anakin.
You had no intention of exchanging pleasantries; you were distant, and acutely aware of it. "Where is he..?" you asked with a cold voice, wanting only one straightforward answer in return. Amidala remained silent, locking eyes with you, and with each passing second, you felt yourself slipping into growing fury.
"If you don't tell me, I'll find him myself. But if, before I do, anything bad happens to him, I'll come back, and I'll make sure something bad happens to you. So, I'll ask one last time - where-is-he?" you uttered through gritted teeth, making dramatic pauses between each of your last three words."
"Now I have no doubt that it was you who got to him." Padmé declared, and without hearing the response you needed, you provocatively withdrew. "So, you've chosen option number two. An exceptionally unwise move…" you began to walk in the opposite direction very slowly, feeling the tension building within you. "He attacked Obi-Wan… And me… They went there, I didn't want to witness it..." she finally replied, then you turned towards the direction indicated by Amidala. "You shouldn't be here." you muttered under your breath as you walked where the two men were supposed to go.
"Especially not you." she replied, as long as she still had you in sight. You stopped before disappearing behind the command station wall and threw the senator a final glance.
"I'm here for someone I love because I know how to keep promises, unlike the ones you threw to the floor like dirty rags." you retorted, and you heard no response. Instead, the sound of clashing lightsabers reached your ears. You immediately quickened your pace, heading towards the source of the sound. You cast off your covering just as you approached the edge of the platform, which was being flooded by molten lava, and you froze when the silhouettes of the apprentice and the master finally came into view before your eyes.
"You underestimate my power…!" You heard Anakin's scream and tried to get as close as possible. Skywalker stood on a detached piece of ground amidst the spreading lava, with Obi-Wan above him, positioned on a secure spot on the edge. "Don't try it…" You didn't understand what Obi-Wan meant until your vision sharpened, and you saw that Anakin was attempting to jump towards him from his precarious position. Too late. "NO!" you screamed desperately, straining your lungs, as Kenobi severed Anakin's legs in mid-air, also cutting off his left arm, which remained suspended along with them. You ran desperately, stumbling over irregularities in your path, crying and shouting, seeing your beloved one fighting for survival, clinging with one hand to the rocks. You collided with Obi-Wan when you reached Anakin. He looked at you with eyes you had never seen before - you didn't care whether they were consumed by darkness - you were doing everything in your power to save him. Dazed by the drastic sight, you didn't even hear Obi-Wan's cries behind you.
You pulled Anakin up by his shoulders, trying not to slip off the cliff yourself - you sobbed and drowned in tears, hearing his agonizing groans. You couldn't lose him. "Please, lean on me, please…" you pleaded with a broken voice, doing your best to prevent him from coming into contact with the lava. "I loved you… Both of you... But I can't help you anymore." Obi-Wan managed to shout at you before he left, and you exchanged a last glance with him - probably the saddest you've ever shared.
When you managed to pull Anakin to a safe point, you fell powerless and laid him back on your knees. His face was worn out, eyes visibly circled and reddened - he breathed harshly and deeply as you combed through his sticky hair with trembling fingers, and your tears fell onto his torso. "I… I…" he tried to say between deep breaths, but you quickly interrupted him, seeing that speaking was causing him tremendous effort. "Shhh, I know… Please, breathe deeply." you whispered, seeing the pain written on his face. Each rise of his chest was torture for him, and you could do nothing but wait - wait for someone to take pity on you and come to help.
"Don't close your eyes, love, please, don't close your eyes!" you cradled Anakin's overheated face with your hand as his consciousness seemed to drift away - you weren't surprised he couldn't endure it- you doubted you could bear such pain yourself. "Please, stay with me! Ani, I love you, please, stay with me!" he heard from you before his conscious vision was covered by a haze. And then, darkness fell. .....................................................................................................................
"Does it hurt him? Please, do something…" you asked, leaning with trembling hands against the Venetian mirror that separated the spacious but dingy operating room. "You must know, young Lady, that this pain will strengthen him." replied Palpatine standing at your side. When he took you from Mustafar, you could barely recognize him - almost until now, you were afraid to look him in the face, but you had to get used to it - just as you would have to get used to the new shape of your beloved. Anakin looked as if he were sleeping, but he winced painfully with every movement of the surgical tools - each involuntary reaction of his body broke your heart. You couldn't stop the tears that flowed down your cheeks one after another.
"Don't worry. This boy is the strongest being I've ever known. And soon - even stronger." added Palpatine, seeing your despair. Your legs buckled under you from stress, so you sat on the nearest seat, in a section of the room that resembled a hospital waiting area - with the difference that everything around was incredibly sealed, as if prepared and reserved specifically for him, just in case.
"Only a blind man wouldn't see the feelings that connect you two. What a shame that the Jedi would prefer to exile both of you in the name of their code." you stared at the wall as Palpatine spoke those words, and at that moment, you felt how far you were from the life you once led. "This is not my code anymore." you responded with a somber but confident tone, drawing Palpatine's gaze. "And I have a feeling it never was." you added after a moment, and a semblance of a smile appeared on the hooded man's face.
"I believe so too. That's why I had to set you free." he responded to your words, and you didn't say anything, just looked at him, feeling a complete emptiness inside. "Anakin swore allegiance to me- our cooperation can be fruitful like never before. But if you harbor feelings for this boy, you'll have to stand by him and strengthen him, just as he does for you. Together, you can be stronger than anyone in history and build your own." he continued. Barely after he finished, you heard a signal coming from the adjacent room - the procedure was over, and the doors opened. You rose impulsively and felt the urge to run into the room immediately, but you knew you had to maintain relative calm. "Please be cautious, Ma'am." said one of the exiting medical droids as you approached the table where Anakin lay, and you nodded, not wanting to make any abrupt movements. His torso and thighs were half-covered with robes – from the knees down, new leg prosthetics were already in place, and his left arm also had a replacement – each clad in black, leather-like material.
Only his face was as it was before – maybe not as bright, but his facial features, beneath all that pain and exhaustion, were still beautiful – temporarily concealed by sleep that you didn't want to interrupt. Temporarily, because Anakin woke up as if he felt your presence nearby. You pulled a stool towards you and sat down, gently brushing the matted strands of hair from his warm forehead with a soft hand motion.
"Hey." his voice was still rough and tired, but as soon as you heard it, a smile appeared on your face.
"Hey, love." you replied in a whisper, seeing a smile growing on his face as well. His eyes were darker than ever before- you focused on them, remembering how dynamically their shade changed on Mustafar – back then, there was red, there was yellow, but now, there was definitely more calmness emanating from them.
"For a moment, I thought I lost you." you said, and after a while, you felt his right hand – the one you both were already accustomed to – reaching for your cheek.
"It seems you'll have to put up with me a little longer." he replied, and you laughed, a reaction he also instinctively mirrored, but he quickly got winded and started coughing.
"Slowly, my love, take it slowly." you signaled to Anakin, placing your hand on his chest, not wanting him to exert himself. "You need to rest… Your body needs to regenerate and… Adjust." you whispered to him, running your hand over his shoulder, looking at his new prosthetics, to which both of you would certainly need to adjust.
"Where will you be?" Anakin impulsively asked, seeing you rise from the chair.
"If you want, I'll be here with you, but you need to rest." you replied, and you saw a smile on his face – now, without a doubt, knowing he wants you by his side.
So, you sat back down, glancing occasionally at the apparatus surrounding you. Anakin's heartbeat was stabilizing, and at this moment, that was the most reassuring thing for you. As usual, you would want to listen to it as closely as possible – just like you used to fall asleep, with your head on his chest – but you couldn't afford that, not yet. Instead, you leaned against the free space on the headrest of his medical table and gently stroked his exposed arm, ensuring he felt as comfortable as possible.
"Hold my hand." his eyes were closed when he whispered these words to you, and you immediately reached for his hand, enveloping it with your warm fingers, hoping he could feel your touch to some extent, as if it were his own skin.
"One more thing." you heard after a moment, and your eyes once again shifted to his, still peacefully closed. "Kiss me, please." he added in a whisper after a while, and you instantly felt warmth in your heart. You rose very gently from your seat and pressed your lips to his, uniting them in a sweet, tender kiss. His lips had a metallic taste of blood, which came from the small wounds caused by biting them in pain. You didn't want to press too hard to avoid additional pain, but Anakin deepened the kiss, so you held as much as he needed. Well, both of you needed it so much that you certainly wouldn't leave this room for a long time, but for now, it had to be enough.
When your lips finally parted, you returned to your position, never letting go of Anakin's hand. For the first few minutes, it was tightly clenched in yours, but little by little, the grip loosened, and his breathing evened out. You watched with tenderness as his chest rose and fell calmly, and his tired face peacefully sank into the pillow. In a moment, there was no more pain, no more fear and sadness – there was only a peaceful sleep that soon visited both of you. .....................................................................................................................
"Watch out, QT." you said to your droid, who occasionally had a habit of rolling over your long, trailing black gown that you decided to wear today. The past month had turned your lives upside down, but it was better. You could feel it.
"You are so…beautiful." you heard behind you as you combed your hair in front of the mirror. In the reflection, you saw Anakin, leaning against one of the pillars in your new apartment. His new style was much darker, but it suited him well. Your style had also changed, and you could almost say it had adapted to Anakin's. You chose long dresses more often than jumpsuits, while Anakin opted for black robes with small metallic accents that complemented his leather gloves.
"It’s only because I’m so in love." you responded, turning to your beloved and smiling at the sight of his dreamy face. "No. No, it’s because I’m so in love with you." he replied, approaching you with a wide smile, grabbing your hands—adorned with lace, black gloves to harmonize with his.
You left a short, sweet kiss on his lips and playfully grabbed his cheek, unable to look away from his face, which had remarkably healed since you started your new life. "I see you're getting used to it already." you said, looking first at the hand embracing you and then at Anakin's legs. "It was easier with the hand. Well, I'll definitely miss them…" he chuckled, but quickly returned to a neutral expression, his hand gently gripping your chin. "Do you know what else I miss?" he asked after a moment, and you quickly understood what Anakin meant, even just by his gaze.
"I know." you responded with a tender tone, and it was evident that both of you missed it. "Aren't you afraid anymore, the first time? With this?" Anakin whispered. "Honey, you know I'm not. I just don't want to cause you pain." you replied, stroking his cheek, to which he smiled gently. "You won't, I believe it will be perfect…" you approached each other, but soon heard a knocking on the door. "Come in." you said, and soon R2-D2 emerged from behind the door, emitting a few informational beeps.
"Yes, yes, we're coming." Anakin responded to his droid, and you looked at him with interest. "Are you ready?" he asked after a while. "If you kiss me, maybe I will be." you replied teasingly, but Anakin fulfilled your wish faster than expected, pinning you against the wall and overpowering you in a passionate kiss. "So, are you ready now?" he replied breathlessly after a short attack on your lips. "Like never before." you answered, embracing Anakin at the waist, but soon one of your hands dropped to grab his.
"I can't believe it… We're getting married, my love…" "We're getting married."

— Chapter Six: Reunited
Bedtime Story Masterlist | Main Masterlist
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
“Echo?” Omega asked, looking at her brother, “What are you doing here?”
Echo allowed a small smile to grace his lips, “I’m here to continue the story, of course.”
Omega’s eyes widened with glee at the implication - Echo would finally be making an appearance in the story; how exciting!
“Master,” You started, now a year into your training under Mace Windu, “What happens if we don’t take back Anaxes?”
“We’ll lose the war, Padawan.”
A few moments passed before Captain Rex noticed a figure behind you, immediately walking to speak to him. It felt familiar to you - resulting in you zoning out, thinking of the various possibilities.
Your Master’s words snapped you out of your daze, “If the trooper has a plan, I’d like to hear it.”
Someone you believed to be long gone stepped up to the holotable - Echo. A gasp escaped your lips at the realization, but you needed to keep composure in front of your Master - if you hadn’t needed to, you would’ve ran to him immediately.
Echo’s idea was risky, to say the least. Taking a small unit to Admiral Trench’s ship was risky in itself, but feeding him information was even more so.
“Master, if I may,” you interjected, “I’d like to be part of the team that goes to Trench.”
Echo’s eyes finally made their way to you - eyes of admiration and determination, “I was also going to suggest that, General Sir.”
Windu took a moment to think, “Fine.”
You nodded and walked after Echo, a smile tugging on your lips, “Echo!” You called more emotionally than you’d preferred.
The clone stopped and turned to you, teary eyes blinking, “Commander. It’s good to see you.”
“Are you kidding, Echo? I thought you were dead!” You looked at where Master Windu stood and deduced you were out of his line of vision, before opening your arms to him, “I’ve missed you so much, Echo. Are you doing okay?”
He hesitantly walked into your arms, accepting the embrace, “I’ve never been better, but I’ve been as good as dead for the past couple years, so that’s not saying much.”
“What happened?” You took a step away from him, still holding onto his biceps, “I mean, after the Citadel.”
“I was sold to the Techno Union - they used my brain against the Republic,” He paused, taking a sharp breath, “I was only rescued from Skako Minor a couple rotations ago by Captain Rex, General Skywalker, and a special-ops Clone Force.”
Could it be?
”I’m glad you’re alive, Echo. I never forgot about you - I could never forget about you.” You looked around for any gazing eyes before pulling up your robes, “You’re a part of me.”
His eyes widened at the ‘1409’ tattooed on your flesh, “I’ve missed you too, Commander.”
“Echo! Commander!” Rex’s voice called from afar, startling you, “Time to go - General Skywalker and Clone Force 99 are already on the ship.”
Ah, so it is.
“We can talk more later.” You offered before jogging to the familiar ship, Echo in tow. You smiled as the ramp laid itself down for you, as it did on your departure from the Batch, “Home,” you whispered to yourself.
“Good ‘ta have you back!” Wrecker’s jubilant voice boomed throughout the Marauder at the sight of you.
A voice came from behind you, “Home is right, Commander.”
“Should’ve known you’d be so desperate to see us again.”
“I see BD-99 is doing well.”
Your family surrounded you - your full family, “It’s old home week - first Echo, now you four.”
“Commander, did you receive the image that I sent to your inbox a few rotations ago?” Tech asked, “We had an assignment on Yalbec Prime, hence the Yalbec queen in the photo.”
You nodded, “I did see it, Tech. How interesting that the male Yalbec tried to mate with you after Wrecker cut off the queen’s stinger! Did you know it’s a delicacy on various planets?”
“This is why you are my favorite.”
Wrecker was next to speak, “How’ve ya been treating Lula’s kid? I mean, how has Lula’s kid been treating ya?”
You laughed at his attempt to cover up his concern for his tooka doll, “Lula the Second is great, Wrecker. I think she misses you, though. She’s in my quarters on the Endurance currently - I’ll return her to you after the mission.”
An ‘ooh’ escaped his mouth, “You did remember!”
“I could never forget, Wrecker.”
“Nice to see you haven’t gotten yourself killed. Or maimed.” The velvety voice of Crosshair filled the air.
“Aw, so you do care!” You retorted with a laugh, “I’m glad you’re alive too.”
Anakin cut in, “Sorry to break up this heartfelt reunion guys, but we have to go.”
“On it, General.” Tech made his way to the cockpit, starting the engines.
“You know this lot, Commander?” Echo asked you, surprised at the less-than-cordial interaction.
You nodded, “I worked with Clone Force 99 for a year after Master Umbari…” You trailed off, leaving Echo’s mind to fill in the blanks.
“They weren’t just working with us,” Hunter interjected, “they were part of our squad. Always will be.”
“I remember when you were assigned to their squad,” Anakin reminisced, “They were odd circumstances.”
“That they were,” You replied, “The Council thought it best to assign me to Clone Force 99 while they found me a new Master.”
“I expressed interest in taking you on as my Padawan,” Anakin started, “The council declined, regardless of how desperate they were.”
“What happened to Ahsoka?” Echo asked, a new conversation spurring between the two.
You left them to their conversation, heading to the cockpit with Hunter trailing right behind you.
“Just like old times,” You spoke to the four clones that surrounded you, placing a hand to your heart, “It’s nice to be back in the Marauder. The Endurance is…”
“Awful? Terrible? Horrible?” Hunter replied, “It’s nice to have you with us again, Commander.”
Tech called Echo to the cockpit, as the ship was nearing Trench’s. Echo plugged in his arm, transmitting Separatist transport ship codes to disguise the Omnicron-class shuttle you were on. It was a genius plan, but you could tell the Batch didn’t trust him.
“Let him do this,” You said to the group surrounding you, “He spent so long unwillingly helping the Separatists, let him do this. For the Republic.”
That seemed to get them off Echo’s back, as they allowed him to lead the rest of the way. The mission was going smoothly until Echo was scomped into their database, receiving a new order that Trench activated a bomb on Anaxes. Echo notified your Master as he tried to decipher the sequence numbers.
“If you can’t get the sequence, maybe Trench will give it to us.” You said before running out of the room, feeling for Trench’s presence in the ship. You ignored the voices behind you calling your name, instead trusting your gut. You ran through the ship, finding Trench in the command deck.
After taking out his droids, you found yourself with your green blade at his neck.
“You won’t kill me. It’s not the Jedi way,” He clicked, very sure of himself.
You sliced off his artificial arms, proving that you indeed would kill him, “You had my best friend taken prisoner and used his mind to your advantage. Don’t tell me what I won’t do.”
Trench begrudgingly gave you the last digit to the code - 7. You adjusted your comm frequency to Master Windu’s, hearing them discuss the sequence.
“Let me take the guesswork out of it, Master Skywalker,” you said into the metal device, “Try seven.”
After your master successfully disarmed the bomb, you felt an excruciating pain in your left arm, accompanied by a thump coming from the floor. You groaned in pain before looking the culprit in the eye and stabbing him with your ignited lightsaber.
You turned your comm frequency to Anakin’s and called him for help, which he rushed to give you. After seeing a dead Trench on the floor accompanied by your missing hand, he tapped a few buttons on a nearby console, a hand-held detonator popping out of it.
“You’re okay. You’re alright, Padawan.” He consoled you, “I know what it’s like. Everything will be alright.”
You felt a sharp pain in your head, followed by your eyes closing. Before you could fall, Anakin caught you - “I gotcha.”

“Seppie Tag”
Summary: Downtime on the Dominator could only mean one thing. A “training” in stealth and stamina
Pairing: 501st x Gn Padawan reader (ok ok ok take a guess what it is…. Did you say platonic? Good job!)
Warning: None please enjoy!
Word count: 1179
Notes: don’t be scared to suggest any ideas or pairing!
Tumblr media
The halls echoed and magnified any footsteps near, at the moment they were quite. Too quite for a ship housing the infamous 501st.
You peaked down the corridors for any sign of life. The silence eased you a little as you turned back to the panel on the wall to open the next door.
'Tup, I repeat Tup was tagged I saw it with my own eyes!' The voice that belong to none other than Fives sounded from your comm. Echos voice going over what you could assume was a strategy was heard from the background.
That made Tup, Jesse, and Hardcase the 'Seppie' of the game, their goal is to tag everyone else aboard the Dominator.
The door swooshed open as the comms erupted by a few troopers and their comments on the new tagger.
Looking ahead down the new hall the bottom half of some plastroid armor quickly vanished behind another corner.
Listening for a moment the quite footfalls gave no hint about who it could be, but it definitely ruled some heavy footers out.
Making your way down the corridor your head constantly on a swivel listening for anything that could hint at another person.
Quite shouts filled your senses as you started a brisk jog trying to get to the bridge of the ship. It was one of the better options you had to hide out in.
"Why would we ever do that?" Someone whispered from somewhere to your left.
"Do you have a better idea Vod we need to find more people." A voice responded "it's better so we wouldn't get picked off as quick.
You crouched down by a nearing vent assuming that’s the place some people were holding a normal conversation. "Planning to sacrifice your brothers Fives? How noble of you."
There was bumping around for a moment until the hatch popped open.
"Maker Y/N" Echo grabbed his chest as he slumped against the wall after he crawled his way out. "I thought someone found us."
"No no." You put your hands up as a mock surrender. "But we could help each other you know."
Fives stood behind you now he added. "You know that wouldn't be such a bad idea si-." He was cut off by the comms buzzing before he could finish.
"We have news boys." Jeese laughed onto the comm channel. "Rex has become a Seppie and is on hot pursuit of the General."
You looked around at each of the clones for a second, this was bad- if anyone could finish the job quickly by tagging everyone it was the Captain and the General together.
A dangerous duo on and off the battlefield.
Fives looked at you now , giving the 'Well now what commander?' face.
Another door further down the hall scraped open. In a flash the form of General Skywalker came rushing towards you. Close behind was Rex very hot in his tail.
Echo was the first to react jumping from his seated position and booking it in the same direction Anakin was heading .
Fives and yourself were quick to follow, the laughter of Anakin and Fives filled the halls.
"Run men. I'll hold him off." Anakin shouted and slowed a bit.
"Noooooo Master!" You shouted playing at the role he set.
Rex came up on Anakin after his small lead, Anakin now with his back to you outstretched his arms and slowed Rex as well.
Rex laughed as he almost crashed into Anakin himself. Reaching to his wrist Rex spoke into his comm. “Hate to disappoint you boys but General Skywalker fell to the Seppies.”
On your own comm as you continued further and further down the hall erupted with laughter, complaints and well wishing to anyone still left running.
You followed Rex and Fives cutting through more and more hallways and doors. The noise of Rex and Anakin faded into the background as the twist and turns became too confusing.
“We could loose them in the bridge if they’re still on to us.” Echo called back keeping his pace. “Good places to hide.”
“Only problem is.” Fives panted “It’s closed off so if we don’t do it right we’re going to get flanked.”
The ARCs and yourself now stood waiting for some noise to die down before turning another hall. “The vents or maintenance hallways could work.”
Earning a few nods from the men you waited a second more before turning again. This final corridor would lead you straight to the Bridge of the ship
Your trio paused right before opening the door, Fives and Echo falling into position in front of you as you listen and felt for anyone in that room.
The skills and trust you acquired from training and campaigns blossomed now.
“Should be clear, maybe one or two others but I can’t make out who so stay alert.” You spoke strongly “let’s move.”
Echo went through the door first followed by you and then Fives bringing up the rear.
“We make it to those vents or hallways we’ll have the entire ship we could get to.” Echo looked around the room, empty enough.
Clearly it wasn’t.
“Well well well what do we have here.” Rex emerged from the shadowy wall he was leaning on. “Lost your way.”
The mocking tone of the captian made everyone stand on edge. Fives flashed you a glance but you were out of cleaver ideas. All you could hope now was to run.
Hardcase stepped out into the light next from the left flashing a devious smile. Soon enough Tup himself emerged from the vents you were planning to get to.
Talk about dramatic entrances, maybe everyone was picking a few things up from the General.
Now moving into the center of the room to get away from the taggers, behind the stuck trio the doors just previously went through opened.
Through them came your master, the smuggest smile on his face. “I thought I taught you to be less predictable Y/N.”
“Maybe it was just too good of an idea and somehow you thought of it Master.” You responded back.
The four men closed in on your group. In an instant the three of you dispersed. Echo and Fives were taken down by Rex and Hardcase before they could get a few feet where as you were almost to the door but your own master tagged you.
“How could you betray me to the Seppies master.” You grabbed your chest and flopped into his side.
“Alls fair in love and war my padawan.” He stated matter-of-factly. “Thought it was tricky to try and mask 4 people with the force, I’m surprised it worked.” Rex came up besides you now “there’s still a few other left.” He hinted at you.
You sprang from Anakins side smiling at the group of taggers now. “I call going after Dogma! Ooo or Appo I might know where they would be.”
You pulled rex with you to the exit, some laughter sounded behind you about your enthusiasm.
Rex smiled alongside you. “Let’s go get ‘em commander.”

a bingqiu star wars AU ficlet for @luukeskywalker 💫
Luo Binghe senses Shen Qingqiu’s presence an instant before his father does. It’s a shiver up his spine, a spreading warmth that is not to be found within the familiar chill of the dark side. He stops dead in his tracks, overcome by a sharp pulse of anger-love-hate-desire.
“It appears we have a visitor.” Tianlang-Jun spares a glance over his datapad, piercing red eyes alight with an unreadable emotion. “Take care of it, will you?”
Luo Binghe nods. He holds his hands behind his back, gloved fingers slowly curving into fists. It has been…a very long time since he last saw Shen Qingqiu.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The Imperial Palace does not often house such an esteemed Jedi Master. You cannot imagine how happy I am to see you.” Luo Binghe lightly grips Shen Qingqiu’s chin, tilting his face towards the dim glowpanel doing its best to illuminate the dreary little cell. It hadn’t taken much effort to trap him. If Luo Binghe didn’t know better, he might think his master came here with the intention to be caught. “To what do we owe the honor?”
Shen Qingqiu releases a soft breath, eyes falling closed in barely concealed antipathy. Of course he doesn’t wish to look at the monster he threw away. Of course he holds no more tenderness in his heart for Luo Binghe.
This is something Luo Binghe knows very well. He was forced to come to terms with his master’s conditional love when the truth of his birth came to light.
But still, he yearns.
“Binghe,” Shen Qingqiu says quietly, “it is not too late.” He looks up through long eyelashes; Luo Binghe wants to carefully run the tip of his index finger along them. “The dark side of the Force is seductive but you can still—”
“I hope Master can forgive the last minute accommodations,” Luo Binghe cuts him off. He can’t allow Shen Qingqiu’s words to sway him. His master is not to be trusted. “For some reason, I did not receive a transmission alerting me of your intention to visit.”
“Would you have allowed it?”
“What use is asking such a thing now?” He stands, feeling the ache from the loss of proximity intimately. Luo Binghe’s movement is far from abrupt but still, Shen Qingqiu’s arms tense in his stuncuffs. What does he think Luo Binghe will do? If anyone should fear harm from another person in this room, it should not be Shen Qingqiu. “I was under the impression that you threw such formalities away at the same time you left your apprentice to fend for himself in Wild Space.”
Shen Qingqiu’s expression shutters, a strange blankness overtaking his features. It’s enough to give Luo Binghe pause, to make him linger at the door. He shouldn’t chase this. He shouldn’t ask the question that has burned within him for all the years they’ve been apart. It will hurt.
Exactly, something whispers to him. The dark side is never quiet.
“Do you regret it?” Luo Binghe asks, the unwanted words tripping from his tongue. He waits.
Shen Qingqiu says nothing. He won’t even meet his former Padawan’s gaze. Luo Binghe nods to himself, a sardonic smile on his lips. Of course. Why should he have expected anything else?
He leaves his master, before the pull of the dark side can compel him to act in ways he will regret.

It's been a long week already, so why not a little WIP Wednesday??
From a later chapter of my tropey old school whump romance, Rabbit Heart, set during Dooku's training Rael era. Spoilers, obviously, for Rabbit Heart.
Click for a little Dooku and Rael and Sifo-Dyas.
“Sy!” Rael threw himself at the seer, leaping onto the bed.
“Rael!” Sifo-Dyas opened his arms and the boy slammed into his chest, hugging him fiercely. “--Oof!” He winced and turned it into a laugh, tightening his arms around him and giving him a little shake.
“Knight Sifo-Dyas,” Dooku corrected his apprentice on the informality, and received twin looks of complete disregard from the pair.
“Are you doing better?” Rael asked.
“Hmm, that’s a good question.” Sifo-Dyas grinned through his split lip. “Not sure. How do I look?”
Rael pulled back to scrutinize him. He frowned. “To be honest? Really damn bad.”
“Rael!” Dooku did not enjoy how his usually measured voice came out as half a yelp.
Sifo-Dyas snorted a laugh. “Okay, well, I guess I’m still working on the getting better part.”
“So does that mean we can’t spar while you’re here?”
“That’s right.” Dooku cut in sternly. These two had him feeling like a sour magistrate ruling an anti-fun regime, but someone should remind Sifo-Dyas that he was terribly injured and traumatized and supposed to be taking it easy. “Rael, Knight Sifo-Dyas has been through an ordeal. He needs a lot of rest and quiet over the next few days. I don’t want you coming in here and bothering him at all hours. And absolutely no sparring.” He said it for the both of them, although he realized the irony in the fact of him trying to keep someone from lightsaber play.
“I don’t mind Rael visiting,” Sifo-Dyas waved away all of Dooku’s Masterly authority with a slim dark hand. “I’ll be bored if I have to stay in here by myself for the whole recovery.” He turned back to Rael. “We can play Dejarik!”
“There’s not a board here,” Rael pointed out sadly. “There’s nothing interesting here.”
“I’m certain that we can find something fun to do. This temple is supposed to be one of the oldest and strangest in the Order. Once I’m back on my feet, we can explore together.”
The Padawan studied Sifo-Dyas again, and Dooku could feel him looking with the Force, too. “What happened to you, anyway? Master Dooku said you had a vision.” He shot Dooku a dark look, as if providing him with misinformation about Sifo-Dyas was just one of his many crimes. “But you’re all beat up.”
“Rael!” Dooku caught himself sputtering again. His heart constricted.
This child.
At his age, Dooku had been compulsively anxious to say the right thing, worrying if the questions he asked were stupid or presumptuous, and keeping quiet if he wasn’t sure. By contrast, Rael usually blurted out the very first thoughts that came into his head the very moment they entered his mind. In that way, he was more genuine than Dooku. Less controlled by self doubt and anxiety, always curious and willing to say so. But it also led to very awkward, uncomfortable moments. Like now.
Of course, Sifo-Dyas wasn’t rattled by the prying. He met Dooku's eyes blithely. “It’s okay, Doo. I don’t mind telling him.”
Dooku stared back at his friend with increasing dismay. He wasn’t sure Sifo-Dyas even knew the extent of the violence that had happened to him, let alone in an appropriate way to tell a child who had just turned twelve.

Marrok x I’m no Jedi reader
A powerful match.
Angst / Fluff
“You wish for me to work with… Him?” I motioned to the tall dark figure.
His posture was tilted downwards to the left, as if he didn’t have a care in the world… It irked me.
But those were the first words I ever said in the presence of Marrok. I remember that clearly.
“The force has showed me the truth. I have seen it my padawan, you two would be more formidable together.” My master Baylan stood beside Shin.
I stared at the masked man who hasn’t even said a word. Why isn’t he saying anything?
“Wouldn’t Shin be a better fit?” I motioned to the girl who was like a sister to me. She raised her brow at me and I gave her a shrug.
“No. Shin still has much to learn about the ways of the force.” Baylan explained.
I crossed my arms as I turned away from the inquisitor, “You know I work better alone.”
“Yes and that is something we must fix.” Baylan sighed, “You must learn this for when you train your own padawan.”
“But Master-” I began to say something, but he cut me off with a raise of his hand.
“That is enough.” My master’s voice darkened and I knew then that I had to obey, “Do as I say, padawan.”
I bowed my head, “Yes master.”
“Shin come with me.” Baylan motioned for her to follow which she did, but not before passing by me with a smirk as if to say… Good luck.
I huffed as the door closed and my attention travel back to the inquisitor.
“Do you have anything to say?” I asked him with my arms crossed.
Silence.
I waved one of my hands about with an annoyed expression on my face, “Do you talk at all?”
Silence.
“Well this is going to be fun.” I sighed as I took a seat.
Just perfect…
Eight months later and I was still attached to the tall inquisitor. Nothing I seemed to do would make him leave. Not to mention the fact that it was like talking to a ship wall.
“This isn’t working!” I yelled, as I used the force to throw a boulder off a cliff.
We were on a planet as we waited for our next orders to free Morgan. It was filled with much crash and cliffs that overlooked a massive sea. It was away from any civilization which made it easier for me to throw boulders during my tantrums.
“You need to focus.” My master held in a sigh as he watched the two of us spar.
He’s been trying for months to make us fight as if we were one and yet the only thing we have managed to do is not slice each others heads off with our lightsabers.
“I am focused, but him!” I motioned to the cocky man who has not said one word to me for months, “He’s not following anything I’m telling him, he’s just doing his own thing! It’s… It’s frustrating!”
“To fight together is to follow each others movements. To know one another.”
“But I don’t know him! And he hasn’t said one word to me to even try to know me. And- and just look at him!” I motioned to the way he stood so nonchalant as if he had better things to do with his time.
Maybe he did, but I sure as the force didn’t care.
I groaned, “All I get from him is that cocky stance and brooding nature. What am I supposed to do with that?”
I glanced over at Shin who was trying not to laugh at my demise, but failed to hide the smirk on her face.
“I see you.” I glared at her to which her smirk grew.
Baylan shook his head, “I’m sending you both on a mission.”
“What?” I looked back towards our master, “A mission? But we’re not ready.”
“You need to find a way to work together before Morgan is freed or else we’ll have a bigger problem on our hands. Now.” Baylan pulled out his data pad, showing coordinates to a shipment yard on the world we’re currently on.
“I need you both to secure some parts for the ship. I’m sure you both can handle that.” Baylan raised an eyebrow.
“Yes master.” I said and this time I held in my sigh as I headed to my speeder.
“Try to keep up.” I muttered to Marrok as I hoped onto my speeder and took off.
I didn’t look back to see if he was, I could tell he was behind me as I felt his force signature.
I can’t believe I have to do a task as simple as this. I thought as I stopped behind a hill.
Over it was a shipment yard that were filled with workers from this planet.
“We’ll have to wait until night.” I spoke softly, before getting comfortable against the plushness of the grassy hill.
“I’d say we can talk about ourselves, but that would be a waste.” I muttered as I closed my eyes.
He didn’t respond of course, but I could hear the annoyance in his voice as he let out a huff. I could hear him make himself more comfortable a few feet away from me and I decided Now was a better time then any to take a nap.
A touch more gentler then I expected awoke me as I blinked back the heaviness of sleep. I looked up to find Marrok towering over me, his armor glinting in the moonlight.
“Are you going move?” I asked to which I received a shake of his head as he stood up and began to walk.
I followed the silent inquisitor as we made our way down to the shipment yard which was now relatively empty aside from a few security guards here and there.
“This is what we need. I’ll find these two parts and you find this one.” I handed him the data pad with the list, “You head that way and I’ll go this way. I’ll comm you when I’m done and if anything goes south, head back to the speeders.” I told him before walking off.
It was almost too easy finding the first part I needed and I was glad that it was small enough to shove into my back pack. Now the other part… The other one was safely tucked away behind a security building making it nearly impossible with the guards blocking its way.
Should I comm Marrok? I wondered, but immediately shook my head at the thought. I didn’t need him. I can do this on my own.
It seemed simply enough in my head. Sneak past the guards, grab the panel and make a quick break for it. Now I just need a distraction…
I looked around and found a grate. I used the force to lift it before sending it in a direction far enough from me. I could tell the guards took the bait as they immediately unholstered their blasters to check out the noise. I snuck by the moment their backs were turned and felt a rush through me when I grabbed the panel.
I did it!
Or so I thought I did…
A sharp pain in my gut had me dropping the panel as a young guard stood five feet away, his hands shaking vigorously as he stood there with a mixture of shock and fear.
“Nice… Shot.” I muttered as I fell to my knees.
I lifted my wrist up to my lips as I commed Marrok a simple command, “Run.”
“Don’t move!” The young guard yelled, “Who are you calling? Are there more of you?!”
I shook my head, “Just me kid.”
“I don’t believe you! We shoot thieves around here!” He yelled as he took a wobbly step towards me.
I motioned to my gut with a cringe, “I can see that. So why not finish the job?”
“I am!” He yelled and he seemed so certain of himself as he pointed the weapon at me again.
I closed my eyes and hoped that Marrok had gotten far away from here with at least one of the parts. Better one then nothing. I thought as I felt sadness flood through me. Of course this had to be the way I go instead of for something I believe in.
I waited for the final shot, but the sound was not what I expected as I heard a lightsaber ignite.
I opened my eyes to find Marrok killing the young guard in an easy motion before swiftly making his way to my side. He carefully picked me up in his arms and grabbed the panel before casually making his way out of the shipment yard. I could make out the bodies of a dozen guards as he walked by them without a care.
“I thought I told you to run.” I muttered as I began to feel the heavy weight of sleep take over me.
The last thing I heard from him was a rumble in his chest as he let out a deep, “Hm.”
Now
The ship was silent as we were being transported to a factory carrying a hyperdrive we will need. This will help us grateful in our attempt to build a spacecraft great enough to get us to Grand Admiral Thrawn. I leaned my head back against my seat as I tried to deal with the unsettling feeling in my gut.
I glanced over to my partner. To say that things have changed greatly in a year between us would be an understatement. After that night at the shipment yard where he risked his life to save mine… Something formed between us that brought us closer together. To say I was now attached to the silent inquisitor was absolutely true.
“Marrok…” I spoke his name, my tone growing much more gentler with him after these past few months.
I made sure to keep my voice low so that the droid pilot I call Lindt and Marrok’s battle droid wouldn’t pick up on our conversation as I waited for Marrok to respond.
The slight tilt of his head told me to continue.
I traced his helmet with my eyes, taking in details I have already memorized.
“Do you think we’re really going to find the… Grand Admiral Thrawn?” I whispered.
He didn’t give me an answer, but he listened and that was all I needed from him. I have since grown used to his silence and small hm’s as the days carried on. Before it had annoyed me to no end, but now… Now it has brought me an odd comfort in my life that I never thought I needed.
“I’m worried.” I continued as I turned my face from him to hide the guilt on my face at even speaking against my master and Morgan’s wishes.
But with him, I felt like I could tell him anything.
“I’m scared that we may be doing something wrong here… That the Grand Admiral is not supposed to be found.” I sighed as I closed my eyes, “I don’t know if my master can see the signs through the force and I know that I shouldn’t be questioning his wisdom, but I can’t help… But question all of this.”
A small part of me worried that he would stick his lightsaber through my chest and end me for good.
“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said anything…” I muttered sheepishly.
I was going to let the silence continue and pray silently to the force that hopefully he wouldn’t relay this to the others, but then…
I felt his gloved fingers dance across my arm before finding his hand found it’s rightful place in the palm of my hand and I knew from that touch he wouldn’t whisper what I said to any other soul.
The comforting squeeze of his hand brought a small smile to my face and a calmness that spread over my heart. I leaned my head on his shoulder as his thumb brushed against my hand.
“Thank you.” I murmured.
“We will be docking in one minute.” Lindt called out as he began our short descent.
“Thank you Lindt.” I said as I stood up, “I’ll go with you.” I told Marrok as I grabbed my lightsaber.
Except Marrok was already in front of me, gently stopping me with a placement of his hand on my shoulder.
“But what if something happens to you?” I asked worriedly, “How will we protect each other if we’re apart?”
He only shook his head and I knew that his order was final. We felt the motion of the ship dock, Marrok gently holding my waist to keep me steady.
My shoulders slumped in defeat, “I don’t want you to go alone… I want to be with you.” I muttered selfishly.
He gently placed his helmet against my forehead and I took a deep breath as another calm wave washed over me.
“Alright, but be safe and… Come back to me.” I stated, pressing a light kiss to his helmet.
A small hm could be heard from his modulator before he turned and descended the ship with one of his battle droids.
“I’ve been ordered to take us to a safe distance until Marrok is ready for pickup.” Lindt said.
“Alright.” I nodded as I took my seat once again.
I closed my eyes and felt his signature through the force, praying that everything will go smoothly… Minutes that turned into an hour passed and my growing anxiety to get to Marrok grew as I waited for the blinking light of the comms to signal he was done.
“It shouldn’t be too long now, right Lindt?” I asked the pilot droid.
“By my calculations, everything should be ready in about ten minutes.” Lindt stated.
I nodded my head with a sigh of relief. That didn’t sound so bad. I could wait for that…
But then I felt something different in the force and I knew then that there was a Jedi present.
“Something’s wrong. We need to get to Marrok now.” I told Lindt.
“But I was ordered to-” Lindt began to say, but I spoke over him.
“I don’t care. I’m telling you right now we have to go.” I urged and I was grateful when Lindt took off, flying the ship to the meeting point.
All I could feel was intense anxiety and fear as the ramp opened to find Marrok battling against a Jedi… Not just any Jedi, but Ahsoka Tano.
I urged him through the force to stop fighting and get on the ship and I was grateful when he did because knowing him… He would fight until his death and that was something I did not want to see.
I grabbed onto him the moment he stepped onto the ship as I looked him over. I could see him staring out at Ahsoka. I turned to the Jedi and watched as Marrok summoned his lightsaber towards us, something that Ahsoka easily dodged.
“I’ve only heard stories about her. She is powerful.” I murmured as I turned away from her to check for any wounds, “Are you alright?”
He nodded his head once and I let out a sigh of relief when I saw he had not been harmed. He held his own against a powerful Jedi and that my chest fill up with pride.
I placed my hand on the side of his helmet, tilting his head down to look at me, “You did well.” I spoke with a softly smile as I felt his fingers graze along my sides, “But I’m not leaving you alone again. Like Master Baylan said, we are more formidable together.”
Who would have thought my master would be right?

THESE FLASHBACKS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU REALIZE ON FIRST WATCH.  They’re not just flashbacks, if they’re flashbacks at all, they’re more a mirror of the current conflict between Obi-Wan and Anakin, possibly even an on-going conversation, softened through having it through the Force, more than that they’re a memory at all. Hayden Christensen not being de-aged in the footage makes a thousand percent more sense if you view this entire sequence through it not being a flashback, but an active conversation between the two of them.  They’re connected in the Force throughout the show, they share dreams while in the bacta tank, they sense each other, the entire story has been about how fixated they both are on each other, which draws their psychic connection to each other even closer. The cut-aways and cut-tos of the directing are split between the two of them, this isn’t just Vader’s or Obi-Wan’s scenes, it’s both of theirs.  And it’s following along as the situation develops between them, and it’s set here because it’s how Obi-Wan remembers them and because it’s how Vader remembers them, as well as he’s taunting Obi-Wan with this, he’s deliberately needling the wound of the loss of Anakin. Is this the face you want to see, Master?  Is this the face that haunts your dreams?  Is this the face that you still wish you could have seen if I’d never turned to the dark side? And then there’s the conversation they’re having: “Ah, there you are.” “Was beginning to think you weren't coming... Master.” “Good. Then, maybe I stand more of a chance this time. Are you ready?” “Are you?” “Then, let's begin.” The pause before Anakin says “Master” would be an odd choice for pre-Attack of the Clones Anakin, he’d be used to saying it without hesitation.  But if you’re a Sith Lord trying to rub salt in a wound, you’ll pause and draw further attention to it, make a formerly beloved term one of hurt instead.  If you’re a Sith Lord who still feels like a Padawan and you know your Master sees you that way, you go along with the appearance to make yourself and him hurt all the more, dig into the pain inside you, making you stronger in the dark side, and try to do the same to him. “Then, maybe I stand more of a chance this time.”  Obi-Wan stood no chance on Mapuzo and they both knew it.  Yet they both know that their conflict isn’t over and Obi-Wan hopes to stand more of a chance this time.  Are you ready, Vader?  Are you, Obi-Wan? It would help to watch the scenes within the episode, as showing just the flashbacks leaves out the context that’s immediately surrounding the scenes (but I can only have a clip that’s so long!), but if you watch the whole thing you see that their initial attacks coincide with Vader’s attacks on Jabiim, “You grow too aggressive, Anakin. Be mindful. A Jedi's goal is to defend life, not take it.” as Obi-Wan is gearing up to defend the people on Jabiim.  Obi-Wan even later says that Vader knows he’ll do anything to protect these people. “Mercy doesn't defeat an enemy, Master.  Which is why you're gonna lose.“ as Vader launches the Stormtroopers at Obi-Wan and the others. Later, “There's no way out, Master. Admit you are beaten.“ as flashback Anakin has Obi-Wan backed into the corner, just as Obi-Wan on Jabiim has been backed into the innermost bunker on Jabiim. Obi-Wan spins out around Anakin in the flashback, while on Jabiim Obi-Wan is speaking with Reva while on his knees, still radiating the most BDE you’ve ever seen, that he has seemingly given himself up to the Stormtroopers, but he’s actually figuring a way out around this, he’s not yet been beaten and still has more moves yet. “All he’ll see is me,” Obi-Wan tells Reva. In the next flashback, Obi-Wan has his saber spun out beneath him, sending him to his knees, “There. Your weapon's gone. It's over.”  Anakin and Vader are both so very sure they’ve won.  Meanwhile, Obi-Wan tells him, even now, “Your need for victory, Anakin, it blinds you.” On Jabiim, Vader has murder sashayed his way into the innermost bunker, grabbing the ship that’s taking off, forcing it back to the ground.  He rips it apart like it’s made of cardboard, so hyperfocused on Obi-Wan that he doesn’t sense they’re not in this ship, but that ship, allowing them to escape.  Vader needed to win so badly that he wasn’t thinking straight and fell for the misdirection Obi-Wan laid on him. In the flashback, Obi-Wan spins away from Anakin, disarming him and giving him the praise and advice of:  “You're a great warrior, Anakin, but your need to prove yourself is your undoing. Until you overcome it, a Padawan you will still be.” This is exactly what I could imagine Obi-Wan saying to Vader through the Force as they escape Jabiim, still yet one more chance to leave the door open for Anakin’s return to the light, but not over-investing himself in it any longer, because he cannot make Anakin’s choices for him, he can only give insight and offer hope, for both Anakin and the people he’s protecting on that ship, but they each have to be the ones to take it. Further, this works so well with George Lucas’ commentary on Obi-Wan’s words about Darth Vader, where it’s not that he and Yoda are trying to get Luke to kill Anakin, that’s not what they’re after, but that you have to be willing to accept that he may not take the hand you offer to him, he may try to kill you instead. “The mission isn’t for Luke to go out and kill his father and get rid of him.  The issue is, if he confronts his father again, he may, in defending himself, have to kill him, because his father will try to kill him.  This is the state of affairs that Yoda should refer to.“ --George Lucas, The Making of Return of the Jedi Obi-Wan has come to understand that about Vader.  You can offer him hope, offer him the choice, as he does on the Death Star, he holds his saber still and lets Vader kill him, leaves that ball in his court.  He understood the choice he was making, because he has offered that choice to Vader before, but it’s Obi-Wan’s time, he will not cling to life when the situation does not allow for it, and one last time, for his beloved former Padawan, who is still a Padawan on that Death Star, he gives him a warning, “Strike me down and I will become more powerful than you can imagine.”, he gives insight and a warning and a better path if Vader wishes to take it. All of that fits so well with the idea that those flashbacks are a conversation between Obi-Wan and Vader in the current day, where their sparring mirrors not just the happenings around them, but Obi-Wan’s desire to give Anakin one more chance, to understand what Obi-Wan is trying to teach him, to offer him advice for a better path, to show that Obi-Wan still has affection and love for him.  Yes, he’s leaving him to Reva’s sneak attack, has deliberately drawn Vader into a trap, but has also given him the keys to break out of his own personal prison, if he wishes it. He gives Anakin his saber back in the sparring session, just as he’s trying to give Vader back his life on Jabiim, your lightsaber is your life after all.  He says it with warmth, pats Anakin’s shoulder and smiles at him, because their conversation is softened through the Force, it’s set in a dreamy mental world where they are somewhat insulated against all the horror of the real world, because Obi-Wan has returned to balance, has returned to the light. Those scenes on Coruscant are so bright, they’re so clear, the day is downright sunny, compared to the darker and harsher reality of Jabiim.  They’re a kinder place where Obi-Wan hopes that maybe Vader can let go of even just enough rage to maybe see what Obi-Wan is trying to show him, trying to reach him with. He likely knows that it’s not going to happen, Vader is too far into the dark to accept it, but this is still the conversation Obi-Wan has with him, trying to reach him one more time.
