I just finished reading The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe. I don’t have an exact quote but in part of the book she talks about the role of fatherhood being the illusion of protection and the actuality of control, and I-
I’ve suddenly realized why I hate the idea of marriage with a man and the idea of family. It’s not about the emotional vulnerability that position will put me in. It’s the control over my life and body that I will be writing off to a man.
The book was amazing I can’t wait to see how the movie turns out.

What tv shows/ movies are you convinced your fav book characters would like or would be consuming rn and why ? 🤭
First I'll need to pick some characters, right? That's not gonna end well, my god. I'll have to restrict myself to like five for now, but let me know if you want to know more in the future.
Kit Herondale
Superhero Movies of course, especially older Marvel & DC ones. I'm also convinced he loves all the X-Men movies (even Dark Phoenix). His favorites are definitely X-Men 1 & 2, all the Spiderman movies (heavy on Into/Across the Spiderverse) and Ant-Man.
Nora O'Mally
My girl loves romcoms & high school movies from the 2000s, just because Iris likes them. And she‘s obsessed with all types of Netflix shows featuring whiny teenagers and drama (to make fun of, of course).
Kinsey Locke
She‘s definitely into Indie & artsy movies in general, especially pretty & well made horror or psychological movies. Midsommar would definitely be at the top for her and she would also enjoy the Menu and all the Hunting of Hillhouse (is that what it‘s called??) series.
Chen Kitay
Into animation, definitely. And also a fan of documentaries and movies that include science. I also feel like he would enjoy more complex & strategic stories or even like war movies?? That feels kinda wrong tbh. I feel like he would love Interstellar, Shutter Island and all of the How to train your Dragon films. Weird mix but I think it makes sense somehow.
Nikolai Lantsov
This man loves romantic comedies, that's for sure. And also classic & dramatic love stories like Romeo & Juliet or Titanic. And he knows all the Twilight movies by heart, I don't take criticism on this!

theres a million blogs these days with names like "puppygirl-macrobulge" and "netflix-for-girl-balls" and whatnot who make 150 posts a day like "theyre all out of 'piss from a girl who's been holding it in all day playing factorio' at trader joes, whats the fcuking point of it all" and i gotta say, i didnt expect that to be its entire own genre of posting in the 2020s.
