Management Styles Pt. 1
I find it deeply fun that both the Queens have very similar management styles albeit for different reason. Both Riddle and Vil operate essentially on "might makes right" and "shame to tame".
Vil will cut you down for not acting in a way that fits his definition of beautiful, especially if you're lazing about. Riddle will cut you down for not acting in accordance with his rules, especially if you're lazing about. Both aspire to this lofty concept - order and beauty, and for the most, strong arm people into agreeing. They're quite aggressive so they will seek out behaviors to correct.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Idia who couldn't give two shits about what anyone in his dorm is doing because he's got the most antisocial dorm ever and they're pretty self governing. When they bitch about each other, its always personal because their otakus who will disagree over the slightest differences in interpretation. But like management? structure? what is that?
(Which is what makes Idia's attempt at asserting leadership in Ch 6 sooooo funny. He doesnt really have a way of getting people to fall in line so naturally the other folks started bitching at him)
Now, Ortho's management is a little more advanced. He operates more on a "distract with the shiny" to get them off his back while he actually gets to work. He never actually works with other people because he is in fact not that great of a team player (super robo boy with five million advanced programs can do it all so why ask for help?) but hes better at tricking people to get off his back so he doesnt have to deal with them anymore than necessary
Incidentally, Jamil is the same way. He also prefers to do everything himself and if people are working with him, you better believe that they are under his Direct Supervision. But, when people dont fall in line with his wishes, he relies on his unique magic/signature spell to make up the difference. He's not like either Riddle or Vil who browbeat into obedience simply because that shit would not work on Kalim. However, Kalim can be distracted with shinies at the risk of making more work later if Kalim gets particularly "inspired" by said shiny. In short, Jamil doesn't manage people more than he magicks them into complacence.
Now, somewhere in the middle between outright authority and fuck it I'm doing this myself, there's Azul and Leona. They mostly take control of people via bribes. They are canny negotiators who know what people want and give it to them for a price. Of course, if directly challenged, Leona will throw down and Azul sends out the twins. But for the most part, they rely on clever tricks to get what they need from people. They will avoid violence - mostly because that's just trying too hard.
(And yeah, Leona absolutely believes that Riddle and Vil are too high strung)
As for Malleus... He mostly gets his Dad to do things for him.

an impolite use of magic
Tumblr media
I was rereading Malleus’s Dorm Uniform vignettes to gather information for another post! Something that stuck out to me upon the reread was how magic can be used in an insulting or disrespectful way. We often hear about how both NRC and Twisted Wonderland itself has many rules and regulations which govern magic and its uses—but it seems there is a social component too.
A quick summary of the aforementioned vignettes; they center around Malleus trying to make it to a dorm leaders meeting. After his peers fail to successfully remind him of their appointed time and day, Malleus decides it would be easier the other dorm leaders come to him rather than him going to them. He then casts a spell which transfers those he wishes to meet with (the headmaster and dorm leaders), bringing them directly to him. This is where it gets interesting, because it is Malleus using this spell on his peers that offends them.
Azul indicates that he had never been treated with such disrespect and that Malleus’s act is an insult. Vil and Leona express upset that Malleus seems to think of them as nothing more than objects, luggage, a pen, or a book. Malleus says he does not understand why everyone is mad because the same spell he used on them, they use all the time to summon their magical pens to them. Riddle clarifies: “PENS ARE OBJECTS AND WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS!!” Lastly, Idia likens the situation to being treated like a familiar that Malleus sees fit to summon at his beck and call, which is also just as irritating.
Judging by the other dorm leaders’ reactions, we can infer that most mages find it extremely impolite to have a spell which is typically used on objects cast on them/living beings. Riddle implies you must obtain consent before doing so, otherwise it violates decorum. (This aligns with the idea that magic is usually formally regulated; for example, medical mages must still get their patients’ consent to operate on them or to heal them.)
Reviewing the other lore we know of, this piece of magical manners (?) makes sense. It seems to be okay to cast object-oriented magic so long as permission is granted. For example, in Floyd’s Labwear vignettes, Adeuce are shown practicing color changing magic on an apple. Vil would use similar color changing magic to alter his and his father’s clothes when they were being hounded by the paparazzi. A similar situation would occur in Lilia’s Suitor Suit vignettes, in which Malleus uses his magic to create a suit on Lilia that perfectly matches his image. I’m sure there are many other examples you could think of; these are just the most obvious ones that come to my mind.
Where does that leave us? Well, with a bunch more questions!! Firstly, what else is considered rude use of magic? Secondly, are spells which violate control over one’s mind and body also considered transgressions of social norms??? They must be, right?? Then why was everyone so chill when discussing how Ruggie and Jamil used their UMs in the main story compared to Malleus casting his transference spell? Isn’t having someone else’s will overwrite your own equally as, if not more, degrading and dehumanizing??? (We do see the the other students upset about the magic being casted on them after the fact, but talking about the possibility of it isn’t done with horror; maybe because it was already established that doing these things is a no-no.) In which case, Ruggie and Jamil, who have UMs meant to be used on living beings anyway, is also “impolite” because their spells still violate other people’s autonomy. Why isn’t this banned by law or at least regulated?? Because it’s too hard to control through legislation alone? (That actually makes sense 💦)
What about when Deuce cast a floating spell on Ace to launch him at the chandelier in the prologue? Or the time NRC students made rude Halloween goers (Magicam Monsters) leave campus by floating them over the school gates?? Were those instances considered impolite too???? And is it more impolite to use magic against a non-mage (since they cannot defend themselves) than against a mage? They mention in Terror is Trending that there are laws against using (attack) magic on non-mages, but what about non-attacking spells and with consent like color changing magic???
What are the rules around casting magic on sentient objects like the Mirror of Darkness, is that considered rude as well since the object is “living”? Do ghosts count as “living” enough to be offended by having an object-oriented spell cast on them? Where do blessings and curses fall in this, since those can be cast without consent (Lilia on baby Silver in book 7) and can also be cast on objects (Vil with the gifted cake and pie in book 5).
I must.. know… 🤡

╰┈➤ summary : you and your reliable partner grim are the most famous interdimensional travelers under the Official Isekai Association. you're used to traveling into psychological thrillers and horrors. however, this time something goes wrong, and you suddenly turn into the protagonist of… an otome game?!
— characters : jade leech, leona kingscholar | kalim al-asim, azul ashengrotto | lilia vanrouge, idia shroud
⌞tags⌝ : gn reader, fluff at times, occasional angst, typical manhwas tropes, mention of a typical isekai manhwa death by truck hit... yeah, you go from the first route to the last (from jade to idia), hence the parts are connected — w.c. : 4.6k+
Tumblr media
⌞notes⌝ : i've been reading too much isekai mangas/manhwas lately and here we go lmao. also forgive me for not writing for so long, i've been experiencing a huge burnout ;; i originally intended to write for dorm leaders but then gave it a second thought and came up with another plan hhhhhh i hope i'll manage to finish other chapters on time but pls be patient with me, i'm preoccupied with too much work lately 😭😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sigh and stretch out your hand, looking at it while lying on the bed, and wonder, how in the dimension did you manage to land in an otome game realm. You heard your colleagues complaining how annoying those can be, not to mention many of you forgot about romantic relationships long long ago—when you probably got hit by a truck in your original world?—and to think you somehow appeared in a world which didn’t belong to your department.
Your specialization was horror and psychological thriller stories, and even if you possess no magic (which is strange, given after transmigrating for so many times, you don’t remember getting magic abilities at least for once, but whatever), you’ve got an excellent, strategic mastermind. And if something dangerous happens, you have your partner and friend, Grim.
“It’s been a while since we’ve isekaed into a high school setting,” you say to yourself, system windows appearing before your eyes.
“Main goal: TO GET A HAPPY ENDING WITH *name*!!”
Ah really…
You set a reminder and throw a quick glance at already fallen asleep Grim before going to sleep yourself. If you can’t escape the world until you complete it, then so be it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Event: TO BECOME A SCHOOL COUNCIL PRESIDENT: success!!”
One mention of a school student council you’ve encountered in many worlds (though possessing not really sweet memories of dealing with many psychological intrigues and schemes), and the local headmaster named Crowley happened to be fairly overjoyed and excited to proclaim you as a council’s president, much to everyone’s indifference chagrin.
You were quite surprised to realize that the school that large didn’t invent such a common structure. On the second note, it was easy for you to operate and deal with information provided through leading the council. Much to your chagrin this time, you needed to pick a route to escape this world.
It was an otome game. You couldn’t care less at first, assuming you and Grim landed in another horror, however a fantasy atmosphere lingering everywhere made you two slightly confused. And the conclusion was made right after you saw heart-shaped indicators above six people’s heads.
“Do you remember what our colleagues told us about otome games?..” You asked Grim, sitting in the auditorium that Crowley assigned as the Council’s room.
“Nah,” Grim yawned. “Not my field.”
“As if it’s mine,” you frowned. “What, not even MC’s words? She ended up transmigrating into a closed apartament and had only 11 days to get an ending…”
“Come to think of it, we have 11 days till the festival.”
You raised your head, turning to the voice’s source, and slightly parted your lips.
“Jade,” you said, standing up. “Good afternoon.”
Jade Leech, to be more precise. You’ve scanned through his profile when you first interacted with him two weeks ago when you ended up transmigrating here in Twisted Wonderland. As expected of a fantasy world, he wasn’t a normal human being, but belonged to merfolk. You don’t remember having much experience with them, and maybe picking him as your first route wasn’t exactly your best choice.
“Good luck on surviving the event,” Grim said, jumping off the chair he was sitting on, and headed to the exit.
“Ah,” Jade’s feigned surprise made you blink at him questionably. “How unfortunate, you’re supposed to help us with the preparations, Grim-san.”
You saw a system window popping up above your head as a reminder of not forgetting your main goal, and sighed.
“Not this kind of event he meant…” You mumbled, knowing exactly well that Jade heard you.
“How about we discuss the budget, Yuu-san?” Leech took a seat beside you, to which you nodded.
Appointed as a council’s treasurer, Jade actually managed his sources with an outstanding performance. Since you had no experience in entering otome realms, it was quite hard for you to predict what was going to happen next. Your fellow transmigrators you barely saw in the interdimensional space used to exchange their thoughts on their journeys before traveling to the next world, and somehow you, who witnessed a ton of horror stories, possessed psyche of a solidity, while otome novels and games travelers happened to be constantly overworked and heavily damaged in terms of their minds.
You never asked why. They’ve mentioned the necessity to go through an endless amount of routes and paths, to make people fall in love with them, and then leave them behind in their worlds. You also heard the system was erasing their memories, so they would live happily after experiencing love and joy of being loved, but the system never really cared about the travelers themselves.
The department you were assigned to provided you with a psychotherapists’ help if needed after coming back to the office, so you would heal after experiencing terrible things and emotional drainings, but your and Grim’s emotional state has never reached the point of damaged position.
Some of your colleagues even stated that you were emotionless and—
“Yuu-san?” you found Jade leaning closer to you, his face showing slight hints of a false worry made of politeness. “Is everything alright?”
“Yes, I am sorry. Let’s continue.”
“I’ll be honest with you,” Leech stood up and came to the bar counter of the Mostro Lounge you’ve been occupying for the council discussions regarding the upcoming festival.
“You don’t seem like the type to be honest with people,” you let the conclusion slip of your tongue before meeting his gaze you couldn’t decipher.
“Then would you like to consider this an observation? A remark of sorts.”
“Alright then.”
“Sometimes it’s quite peculiar how you’re so composed and calm for a magicless person who got here in a school of magic,” a majestic coffee aroma filled the room. “Not to mention we’re fairly… uncommon individuals here.”
“You seem quite normal to me,” you answer emotionlessly, closing your eyes. “But you can say my opinion of what ‘normal’ is may differ from others. Yours, too.”
“Then I would be really willing to know how exactly.”
His voice suddenly appeared really close to your ear, but you didn't even raise an eyebrow, accepting a coffee cup from his elegant hands and looked at him.
Normally you wouldn’t want to have people interfering in your business, but a heart-shaped vitreous icon with a pink liquid in it made you widen your eyes in surprise.
There was no liquid in it before.
Now that you think about it, yes, your colleagues said there were indicators showing your progress, and apparently you really made it further, somehow managing to get Jade interested in you more than he was.
“You’ve seemed to be spacing out a lot lately, Yuu-san.”
“Now that the festival is almost here, I guess I’m slightly nervous.”
“You don’t seem to be the type to get nervous so easily.”
You suddenly chuckle with a light grin on your face at his reversed pun and sip a coffee he brewed.
“It’s brilliant,” you compliment his work, staring straight at his mismatched eyes and seeing something in there. “May I ask you to brew this exclusively for me when the festival comes? In order to celebrate our successful and thoughtful work.”
“It would be my greatest pleasure.”
Tumblr media
You had no idea about how romance works, but you did know you needed to get on Jade’s route as quickly as you could and come back to the office immediately. You wanted to get the detailed information about how you ended up transmigrating into an otome game, so now, sitting in the library and reading mycology books, you hoped to find something useful.
“Aha!” You exclaimed, summoning your transmigrator’s interface and taking a screenshot of a book page containing a mushroom’s drawing. “This is it!”
A mushroom which could be served as a component of a firework supplement, making it iridescent in rainbow colors right in the sky, which also was overflowing when put in soil. You found yourself smiling at the thought of Jade’s reaction, and headed to the mountain near the school.
Unfortunately, you’ve spent all the transmigrator currency you’ve earned during the previous isekai on preparations to the festival, thus you couldn’t afford any equipment for climbing. Well, even if something happens, you still have the system to save your progress, so you could reload and try again. Thinking about the demerits you could get for being not careful and damaging your body made you cringe, though.
You've reached the mountain, and a deep dark forest loomed before your eyes, a cold and moistened fog made you shiver in displeasure. How unfortunate that such a beautiful colorful mushroom grew in such an obscure place.
You made your way further, checking the map with the system tools, and took one more step to darkness. A small iridescent light on the ground made you rash towards it, and you grabbed the mushroom you were looking for.
“Here you are!” You smiled, grabbing more of them, but…
A sudden feeling of ground slipping under your feet made you scream in horror and turn off all the system signs, alerting you about the danger you’ve encountered.
Who knew there was a cliff?!
You tried to grab onto the branches of the occasionally falling trees to slow down your uncontrolled flight, but they were more likely to do more harm than good. You somehow felt someone’s gaze on you, but there was no time to think it thoroughly. You were ready to collapse on the damp ground, but a sudden prehensile grip prevented your fall, and you opened your eyes in a daze.
“Are you alright?!”
You could promise a genuine—this time—worry slid over Jade’s confused face, but he quickly tried to regain his composure. You took a look at his grip and wondered if he’s going to let you go, but at your gaze he instead tightened it, holding you even closer.
“What were you thinking, going to the forest unequipped…”
“Don’t worry,” you’ve tried reassuring him, but receiving only a frown. “I would have survived.”
“Falling from this height?” He asked, his voice raising slightly.
“”... I believe you’re not the type to worry about others,” you mumble.
“What made you think I was worried?” He chuckled, still not letting you go. “Would have been troublesome if you died on the school grounds.”
“No,” you answered with a suspicious calmness you’d better hide. “You’re worried. Your pupils tremble.”
“... Let this be at least in theory,” he sighed. “But what made you come here?”
“Oh,” you sigh and finally unclench your scratched fists and hand over only one mushroom you’ve managed to preserve. “Here. I wanted to give you this mushroom. It’s iridescent and can be used for— Huh?”
Jade chuckled, looking into the sky which suddenly shone pretty bright with glimmering stars, and sighed heavily, finally letting you go of his grip, but holding your shoulders nevertheless, obviously scared of you falling.
“So you did this for me.”
“Yes, I did, but what… Ah.”
You looked up at his head where the heart icon was, seeing the liquid feeling almost to the top, and gasped.
So he was genuinely worried.
“It seems you’ve realized something,” he said, fixing a strand of your hair and smiling rather wearily. “I’ve never thought you’re the type to risk your life for getting gifts, Yuu-san. Especially for me, given how actually twisted I am.”
You found yourself giggling softly at his remark.
“I’m the twisted type myself. I believe.”
Tumblr media
When the festival came, you thought you wouldn't be able to see Jade due to how busy you two were.
He was busy with calculations, and also constantly disappeared in the kitchen due to the insufficient number of workers, but somehow everything went smoothly.
You were greeting the guests by showing them the area and were up all day long actually dreaming of laying down, while Grim helped with the special effects on stage spraying his blue flames along with the rest of the guys.
Finally, it was time for the fireworks show, and you, making sure everything was under control and the visitors were enjoying the show, went to the roof of the school, dreaming of relaxing on the bench alone.
Being in an otome was tiring you out more than you thought it would, and you laughed at how you presumed you would just allure the love interests and get back home.
You grew to genuinely like Jade maybe not as a love interest, but maybe even someone closer than a character of another world.
“Resting here all alone?”
A familiar voice was heard, but you didn’t dare to look, continuing keeping your gaze fixed on the night sky, knowing exactly well who came.
“Ashengrotto has finally freed you from the kitchen?”
“You could say so, even though Leona-san asked for an extra meat dish I’ve created yesterday…”
“Is that so…” You smiled as Jade sat right next to you, lying on the bench. “The fireworks show is going to start soon, right?”
“Not just soon,” he chuckled. “Right now.”
There were loud bangs just after a thin thread of light pierced the night sky and burst into a bouquet of multicolored lights that shimmered in rainbow colors right under the stars, and you released a smile from your lips, surprised at your sincere joy.
“It’s beautiful.”
Jade silently watched the show with you and then bent over your face, covering the view of a clear night sky when the show was over. An unfamiliar expression on his face made you blink in surprise.
“It is beautiful, indeed.”
“Somehow I feel you’re not talking about fireworks?..” You questioned, chuckling, and gasped the second after.
The heart icon was fully filled, a bright pink light radiating from it and covering Jade’s cheeks with a slight pink hue. Or wasn’t it an icon?..
“You know, Yuu-san,” Jade smiled. “You were right when you said I’m not the honest type, but right at this moment, let me tell you something.”
“I’m all ears.”
“Thank you for your beautiful gift,” he said. “I’ll treasure it. And also… you.”
You couldn’t bring yourself to say something, stretching your hand and touching his cheek, cold because of a night breeze and maybe just because he was always naturally like that, and dared to cover his eyes with your hand.
“Thank you for appearing in my life. I’ll treasure you too.”
And with that his soft chuckle dissolved in a bright light and system notifications, congratulating you with getting a happy ending.
Happy ending, starting again in your room with a piercing pain in your heart.
“Ah…” You said, seeing Grim sleep peacefully next to you. “So that is why they said otome games are hard to escape.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shit, you thought, waking up the next morning.
You came to the conclusion that it wasn’t really necessary for you to fall in love with the love interest (it was enough just to open up to him?), and weren’t sure if Jade really grew to like you.
But you definitely came to a realization that it was painful to see him in the hall, talking to his brother and noticing you, nodding in a greeting way with a familiar feigned politeness, a glimpse of warmth, which appeared in your previous walkthrough, was no longer lingering underneath his eyes.
You found yourself wanting to taste a coffee he brewed for you exclusively, but he was no longer here by your side, his profile image became gray, and a ‘COMPLETED’ line appeared in capital letters in the system interface.
Was that it? All the feelings both of you developed turned into a finished story without any chance for rereading it? Otome games were unfair. But transmigrating still was your main job you couldn’t decline, and even in thrillers and horrors you used to enter so often there were people who you genuinely liked and treasured.
Still, you knew that once the story ended, you got back into the office and traveled to another world, then another, and another, and… There was no point in developing feelings anymore.
You chuckled to yourself when Jade passed through you, and raised your head, meeting someone else’s intense gaze.
Leona Kingscholar. The system made a melodious sound, letting you know about your next ‘target’. You quickly checked his profile, appearing right before standing in front of you Leona, and wondered, what type of a character he would be.
Slightly older than his classmates, and he also belonged to royalty, how very interesting. You closed the system interface with a snap of fingers and greeted your next… target.
“Good morning. May I help you… Eh?”
Leona approached you, his face suddenly extremely close to yours, and sniffed your neck, then clavicles and stared at your eyes, allowing you to notice how beautifully the emeralds of his were shining.
“What a strange smell.”
“Excuse me, I took a shower in the morning.”
“Not that,” Leona sighed, a heart above his head being absolutely empty and transparent. “The smell, not of magic, but similar. Also like that fish guy.”
“Fish guy?..”
He was probably speaking about Jade, but how in the world did he manage to sniff that?! Your eyes widened in shock for a brief moment.
“If you’re talking about Ja… Leech, then maybe it’s because hu just was there.”
“Whatever,” Leona shrugged, sniffing you once more, to which you attempted to distant yourself. “There’s also a dirt smell. And also raining, alcohol, hospital… A blood? What the hell, herbivore?”
Now this wasn’t funny at all. The last world you’ve transmigrated into was centered around a story about doctors, crimes and, well, the usual horror stuff you had to deal with, and how did Leona manage to casually sniff it on you like that?
Naturally, you wanted to get rid of any suspicions and shrug it off, but you also needed to get him on your side and find a way to reach a happy ending with him. A slight fearful thought of collecting people’s hearts like some sort of a hobby slid through your mind, making you nauseous, but you swallowed the feeling and forced a cheeky smile.
“Care to figure it out?”
Leona looked at you with an unreadable emotion and made his way to the exit, leaving you all confused.
“It’s not my business, herbivore. But do something about this smell, it’s disgusting, Savanaclaw students are really sensitive to the smell this strong.”
“As if I can just wash it away…” You mumbled to yourself, following Leona’s distancing figure with your gaze and parting your lips in a surprise way when noticing a little amount of pink liquid in the heart above his head.
So you did pique his interest, after all.
Tumblr media
The progress with Leona’s route was incredibly slow and strange. You took the sequence the system suggested automatically, providing you with calculations regarding the difficulty on each walkthrough, and at first you blinked questionably at Leona’s one, seeing only 40%, since now you’ve been feeling all 100%.
He wasn’t hard to find — the botanical garden was his second alma mater, and yet when his words he said to you the first day of his route lingered in your mind, ‘It’s not my business’ line repeating in your head like an annoying pop song, you almost thought that it really was not his problem at all, as if he totally didn’t care.
You almost convinced yourself, but small steps you took towards him also helped you in discovering concealed aspects of his character.
At first you visited the botanical garden just out of a habit you’ve managed to form in other isekais, and ended up finding Leona there without fail every time. At first you were silent, observing him and his unwavering composure—you thought of that as indifference—but not so long after you took the first attempt to start a casual conversation.
“Leona,” you once said, seeing him sleeping under the tree and knowing he heard you talking. “Do I still, uhm, reek?..”
“I sense the strong smell of that fish guy.”
How in the world did Jade’s lingering scent still remain on you?
“And also that bat.”
“Bat?” You asked, wondering who he meant.
“Lilia Vanrouge.”
You knitted your brows together at his reply. You saw Vanrouge only once, right before Leona came into the garden one day, and briefly talked to him. Lilia was also listed among your potential ‘love interests’, but a 100% difficulty level was confusing to you, and the one talk you had did really confirm that he’s going to be a tough character to deal with. To make him fall in love with?..
“I see… I wonder how it works for you beastmen, your sense of smell.”
“Like a second skin,” Leona opened one eye and glanced your way. “I don’t get how you humans live with such a short range of smell.”
“I think that’s only about you,” you suddenly said, meeting Leona’s gaze. “No one from Savanaclaw other than you mentioned what I smell like.”
A short pause stretched between you two, but somehow you didn’t find it unpleasant, more like relaxing and thoughtful. Kingscholar chuckled, tapping on the spot beside him with his tail and attracting your attention.
“Yes?”
“Come here.”
You did as he said, wondering what was that about, and ended up being held in his arms. He sniffed you once again, but with more care and politeness than he did the first time, while you couldn’t tear away your fixated gaze on his bright focused eyes.
“Those strange scents are still on you. What kind of life did you live before getting here, herbivore…”
“And you said it’s not your business, huh,” you grinned and gasped the second after he suddenly laid on your lap. “Hey!”
“It’s still not my business though.” He answered, closing his eyes and resting comfortably. “But don’t get near other Savanaclaws. It’s really a disgusting smell.”
“Which is why you’re on my lap, am I being correct?” You chuckled. “Still, I don’t think others have the audacity to come near me. Or such a strong sense of smell like you do. You’re impressive, Leona.”
For a moment you thought he stopped breathing, but then heard a bitter laugh coming from his lips.
“One day you’ll take your words back.”
Till today you really wondered what he meant by that, seeing no particular reason to actually question his skills. Even despite his poor attendance and self-deprecating lines, he really was an amazing, outstandingly clever person you really did want to get to know more.
And today an occasion came up, when you visited the botanical garden again, now it was more out of a habit, and found Leona with the first-year students you didn’t know, challenging him in chess.
“Good afternoon everyone,” you greeted them, hearing excited ‘hello’ from other students and receiving a light nod from Leona. “What are you doing?”
“Miserably failing to win Kingscholar-senpai in a chess match,” one of the students answered. “No one has succeeded yet…”
“Check and mate,” Leona announced, when the first year he played cried out of indignation.
“How are you so talented in chess, Kingscholar-senpai!!..”
“Hmph,” Leona chuckled, but you somehow knew somewhere underneath his ever-so-mighty persona he was genuinely happy to receive those compliments. “Right, herbivore. Come play with me while I’m in the mood.”
You tilted your head, thinking beforehand. You couldn’t remember the last time you played, but possessing a naturally inquisitive and quick-witted mind due to your job, you nodded, taking a seat in front of him.
The match was silent, and if at first you heard first years hitched breaths, during the second hour passing of the match, even those students left, leaving a silence lingering between you two.
“I really admire you, Leona,” you dared to break the silence, seeing Leona’s hand holding a chess piece stop for a second.
“Flattery will take you to nowhere,” he replied, performing an en passant of your pawn, to which you pouted. “Huh, you can be cute sometimes.”
“And you can be sweet, I see,” you flirted back. “But… I’m sorry. Checkmate, Leona.”
Two knights endgame, huh.
Leona was staring at the chess board for a fairly concerning amount of time before bursting into laughs.
“W-what’s wrong?..”
“Remember I said you’ll take your words back?” He raised his gaze to meet yours. “Take it now. Tell me I’m not impressive anymore now that you’ve outsmarted me.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, feeling annoyed.
“What are you saying.”
“I can’t believe it, huh,” he laughed again. “You, a magicless human, out of people… Hah! What a ridiculously clever herbivore you are. It pisses me off.”
“You know what? Shut up.”
You grabbed his shirt, seeing his absolutely unimpressed expression, and clenched your fists with even more force than you thought you would, and pressed your forehead to his, chess pieces scattering around the table.
“Even when you have no one to believe in your abilities, even you yourself doubt them…” You took a deep breath. “I myself will be that one person who will believe in you AND believe you.”
You heard a splash, realizing it was the liquid in the heart above his head filling half of it, and then a genuine laughter came from Leona’s chest.
“You’re insane, herbivore.”
Tumblr media
You really were insane, indeed.
To the point you couldn’t even take a quick look at Leona in the past week due to him being anywhere but near you, which annoyed you for sure. You had a whole month planned for you two to spend together in case his route appeared too difficult to reach an ending, so many things to witness, but instead…
Instead you managed to meet Jade thrice or even more, then stumble upon Lilia ‘ku-fu-fu’-ing at you cheerfully and mysteriously, and all those were driving you crazy slowly. You wanted to have a chat with Jade who portrayed no such interest you used to witness in his route, much to your dismay, but you also wanted to finally find Leona and genuinely get to know him more.
“Oh, Yuu-san.”
You were resting at the school yard, students walking here and there, chatting and playing, and you saw Jade approaching you, nodding to him.
“Good afternoon.”
“Oya, isn’t it Yuu?”
… Jade and Lilia. And no signs of Leona or whatsoever. You blinked at them, trying to conceal your honest feelings, and listened to them talking.
“It’s rare to see you all alone,” Jade noticed.
“Indeed, you could be often seen in Leona’s company. Did you two have a quarrel?”
“We…” Despite how much you wanted to protest, you weren’t sure anymore.
“We have not.”
A sudden warmth spreading in your chest and a heart pounding faster than it was made you turn to Leona, who appeared behind your back, and you smiled at him.
“Herbivore,” he called you, shoving his nose into the crook of your neck and making you giggle. “One week of me being busy, and you already have such a strong scent of those two. How come?”
“Look who’s talking.”
“My my, do you have a problem with us?” Lilia obviously tried to tease Leona, but the last one suddenly fell silent.
“Leona?..”
“Yeah, I have one.”
His arms enveloping you made you yelp softly, and an unfamiliar burning on your cheeks made you bite your lips and stare at Leona’s cheeky expression.
“I liked it more when you had an aroma of garden’s flowers on you more. And also…”
A kiss he pressed on your lips was bright, passionate, also confusing to everyone else, and very much awaited by you.
“That way I don’t need to worry anymore. Care for another game of chess, herbivore?”
You smiled at him, wanting to reply instantly, but the heart icon above filled to its max, and splashing beats of bright light covered your watering eyes.
“Yes, let’s play one more time, Leona!..”
You…
You really were growing to hate otome games to your very heart.

Moments With ZB1
All Members.
Fluff.
Bullet-points + Small scenarios for some.
I apologise if some are longer than others. 🙏

✿ 𝚂. 𝙷𝚊𝚗𝚋𝚒𝚗 -
• Hanbin likes to make coffee for you and his members in the mornings.
• If you're not already with him in the dorms but he knows he will see you, he will make one in your own special to-go cup.
• You both have one and you decorated them yourselves.
• They're filled with cute stickers, doodles, and sweet nothings.
• When you are in the dorm you can count on being wrapped around Hanbin's waist as he drags you along whilst making coffee.
• If or when he makes food, you are his professional taste tester.
• If Hanbin is in the kitchen, chances are you will be too.
• Hanbin is obnoxiously a morning person.
• Like I mean this man is up and ready to go in 10 minutes whilst you and all of the other members are still waking up.
• And so if you get too sleepy Hanbin will sit you on the counter and come over to cuddle you whenever he gets the chance.

• Being the oldest of the group, when everyone orders takeout, you and Jiwoong sometimes take responsibility of ordering food when Leader Hanbin isn't available or just to help him out.
• You basically tag-team it. One person finding out and writing down orders and the other ordering the food on the phone.
• Most of the time, it goes smoothly.
• Mother and Father moment.
• When everything has been ordered, you proudly smirk at eachother and share a smooth high-five.
• The 04s watch and commentate on it like a sport. When they know food is about to be ordered they gather, tell you their orders first and watch it go down.
• Gyuvin narrates what is happening and Ricky adds a comedic remark here and there.
• This also means you and Jiwoong find yourselves swatting them away when something doesn't go according to plan.
• Almost like a military operation. Theres a lot of hungry people waiting and a lot of food to order. It's of utmost importance!
J: "Okay, is that everything?"
Y: "I am 98% sure."
J: "We don't need 98% Y/n we need 100. Can you give me 100% certainty?"
Y: "Yes sir!"
G: "It looks like our players have a bit of a mixup on their hands. They're rechecking the orders. A recount! Will they make it in time?"
J: "Yah Gyuvin! Out!"
R: "Oooh and Gyuvin strikes out!"
Y: "You too Ricky!"
R+G: "Fine..."
J: "Wait... Should we ask again?"
Y: "Babe. I'm sure it's right."

• Sometimes when you get to the ZB1 dorms, finding Hao is difficult.
• My guy tells no one where he is off to.
• Which is fair because if he wants privacy, it needs to be that way.
• However, chances are that when you can't find him, he will be somewhere playing his violin.
• His violin is a way for him to relieve stress.
• You are another.
• He instantly calms down when you are around.
• He says you help clear his head and help him get his thoughts straight.
• He thinks more rationally when you are around.
(Realising he legit said this about Hanbin •-•)
You walk up behind Hao. He is sat on a stool facing out of his window, his hands skillfully playing a chorus of notes on his violin. As you reach him you carefully place your hands on his shoulders and a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"Hi baby." You say lovingly, your hands moving further down his chest, leaning fully on him, as he lowers the instrument.
"Hello my love." He responds with a sweet smile.
He sighs in content as he holds your arms and closes his eyes, resting his head against your shoulder.
"Long day?"
"Mhm."
"Want to lay down and talk about it?"
"I think I'd rather just lay down with you."
"We could also do that."

• You and Matthew are the couple that always have one show that you are watching together.
• Whether it be a soppy K-drama or a cringey YA series, you both are addicted.
• I'm not kidding, everytime you guys meet in one another's house, you have to watch at least one episode.
• You often shush and shoo away people who intrude, not wanting to miss important scenes.
• You also often disagree on situations in the show.
M: "I'm telling you, she's gonna end up with ___"
Y: "No! But ___ is so good for her! They'd be great together!"
M: "Yeah, I get that, but he likes ___ and so he's gonna get with her."
Y: "No, you're wrong, that's what the show wants you to think!"
H: "Hey, Matthew, have you seen my-"
M: "Shh! He's confessed!"
Y: "Wait it's a cliffhanger?!"
M: "Oh my god! How could they do that?!"
H: "Nevermind..."

• Many times Taerae has tried to teach you how to play the guitar.
• But to no avail.
• Instead he offers to play an acoustic version of your favourite songs for you to sing along to.
• He provides excellent backing vocals.
• He sits on one end of your bed, watching you sing.
• He thinks you look beautiful whilst singing.
• When your eyes flutter shut, how you scrunch your face to reach the high notes. Your laugh when you forget the lyrics.
• He truly is your biggest fan.
• When you get tired of singing he will serenade you.
• Singing cheesy love songs to make you blush.
• Not only will he sing to you for fun. He will also sing you to sleep.
• You lay next to him, Taerae resting on his elbow looking down at you as he gently brushes hair out of your face. He quietly sings a slow song as you fall asleep.

• You and Ricky love going out and exploring the city.
• Whether you go shopping, find a new café, or just walk around or take pictures, you both love it and have so much fun.
• As the night gets later the temperature gets colder, and eventually it is so cold that the two of you can see your breaths in the air.
• A lot of the time you get much colder than Ricky and he ends up giving you one of his jackets.
• You and Ricky usually decide to find a few street food stalls to walk around, both for the food and the warmth they would provide.
• If your hands get cold so he offers to feed you so you hold a heat pack or put your hands in your pockets.
• Ricky always gives you the last bite.
• You buying something you found interesting such as a new drink or a new food and giving him a sip/bite.
• Watching his face either light up as he smiles and nods, or as he scrunches his face because he doesn't like it.
• A lot of the time its the latter.
• He may love food, but he is picky.

• A lot of the time this is to play video games.
• One of Yujin's favourite things to do is to watch you play video games.
• He likes to sit you between his legs whilst he hugs you from behind and watches you play Animal Crossing on the switch.
• Snacks are also a necessity.
• He will feed you chips one at a time whilst you run around your island keeping everything in check.
• The members have often walked in on this and think you two are freaking adorable.
• But like actually it's something so adorable to witness.
• Sometimes Yujin will fall asleep on your shoulder and it's something that you just have to capture because omg this absolute sweetie. 😭🩷
• His head is on your shoulder, eyes closed, slight smile still on his lips, his arms wrapped securely around your waist.
• You would want to stay there forever if your legs werent going numb...

Omg apocalypse au 🤯
Having to choose which group(dorm) to take shelter, but that comes with a price...
Just wait till the repopulation part arrives
>:D I will share some basic thoughts about how each dorm would function!
Heartslabyul is very rule-oriented. Everyone has a job that they're expected to do so that the compound won't find itself swept up in chaos. Riddle is very good at keeping order within the group he leads, though sometimes his patience and restraint are tested when a certain few (Ace and Deuce) get on his nerves. Riddle is welcoming to all, but he's extremely cautious. After all, he can't risk letting anyone who may be infected with blot into this sanctuary. Trey and Cater are usually the ones who are permitted to lead a select few to scope out the nearby areas and go on supply runs. They probably encounter you on one of these runs and bring you back to Riddle when you beg for help.
Riddle has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to disobedience. Everyone gets three strikes, and if you breach the third infraction you're thrown out and banned from the compound. He's ruthless when it comes to this rule, so Ace is always toeing the line of a third strike. You've come to his rescue more than once, which infuriates Riddle because he assumes you're taking Ace's side, when in reality you're just trying to save your friend from impending doom (not that you approve of his mischief in such an uncertain time). The outside world is nowhere near as safe as it is within the walls of the Heartslabyul compound. Ace would do well to remember that.
Deuce is more well-behaved, and so sometimes he'll join Trey or Cater on supply runs. He's well-versed in fighting, so he can hold his own in a physical fight. When it comes to magic, he's still improving, but he wants to help out in any way that he can. He looks up to Riddle greatly and wants to prove himself as someone worthy and strong. Ace likes to tease him a lot, but it's usually Deuce who reminds him that he ought to be more serious. Apocalypses are nothing to treat lightheartedly. One wrong move and you could lose everything.
- - -
Savanaclaw is not very rule-oriented. In fact, the only rule that's made abundantly clear is that you have to fight to survive. You're either weak or you're strong; there is no in between. Leona was made king of the compound after dethroning its previous leader. He'll let anyone into the compound so long as they can hold their own in a fight and are useful. This usually means a test of strength, whether physical or mental, and if you pass Leona will recognize your worth. Ruggie is usually in charge of supply runs and any other operations. Sometimes they'll gather; other times they'll steal from nearby groups and compounds. Jack doesn't approve of these methods; he thinks everyone should be given the chance to survive, but Ruggie and Leona remind him that if everyone got to survive then the world's population wouldn't be sitting at what it is now.
It's Ruggie who takes you as a prisoner when he finds you snooping around just on the border of Savanaclaw's territory. Jack's there to remind Ruggie of respect and whatnot as he forces you along towards the compound. Jack doesn't talk much, but he does watch you keenly as you're led to Leona. He's studying you to determine whether you pose a threat, sniffing the air to see if he can pick out any foreign, perilous smells. Once you're deemed harmless and you manage to pass Leona's test, you're welcomed into the fray. Jack sticks with you, helping you adjust to the way of life in the group. Leona may seem lazy and hard on you at times, but he does secretly care. He just expects everyone to be able to hold their own. The world's filled with liars and cheats; Jack's realized that there's no helping it, especially when the world has become so unruly.

Octavinelle is a safe haven. It's as if Azul has thought of nearly everything in order make the compound as safe and welcoming as possible. Unlike the other compounds, which are all on land, Azul's makes use of both the land and the sea. Half of it is underwater, with nearly indestructible glass tunnels that connect into a labyrinthine structure built of the strongest, sturdiest materials, while the other half is built upon the land to make use of both environments. You may think the sea isn't as bad as it is on the land, but it's so much more frightening. Those dark, dangerous depths hold all kinds of infected things: monsters, mers, mer-monsters...
Azul is willing to accept anyone into the compound, even those who may be infected so long as they stay in a specific layer of the compound (the one far below the land in the sea) and will take the medicine necessary to curb the blot infection (it's not a cure, but it is something he's managed to conjure after much trial and error. Only Octavinelle can brag that they have something akin to a cure, and Azul is only willing to share for a very steep price). Azul himself is infected, as are Riddle, Leona, Jamil, Vil, and Idia, and perhaps even Malleus, and he's constantly finding ways to suppress the monstrosities of Overblot. Azul has built the compound upon lies and secrets, all of which rest at the foundation. He'll pile sweetness onto poison so that you won't ever find the truth amidst so many falsehoods. Anyone who proves to be an issue or has seen and learned too much will be cast into the sea, but not before being thoroughly interrogated by Jade and Floyd. There's always new information to be found!
Jade and Floyd are swift and strong enough to brave the horrors of the ocean in order to search in sunken shipwrecks and husks of plane to find anything that might be useful. They're a formidable duo and aren't afraid of anything. Either you learned of the rumors of a very welcoming compound and came to Azul willingly or the twins dragged you to him by force. In any case, you'll find yourself at Azul's feet, hoping he may take pity on you. Make no mistake; Azul will accept the poor, unfortunate souls left hopeless by the apocalypse, but that doesn't mean they're permitted to stay rent-free. You'll likely be given many tasks in order to earn your keep. Octavinelle runs on information; it's become somewhat of an intelligence hub, where Azul keeps note of what goes on within the other compounds and the world beyond his safe haven, trading and taking info as he sees fit.
- - -
Scarabia has also thought of everything to combat the apocalypse. Kalim is a little too carefree when he throws celebrations in order to keep morale high and to distract those from the gloomy situation beyond the compound. It's Jamil who really runs everything. He knows everything about everyone who steps foot in the compound and he's very picky with who gets to stay. He isn't one to act rashly, rather he'll think through every action that can be taken in order to solve a problem when one arises (which happens quite often considering how restless some get within the compound). He plans behind the scenes, allowing Kalim to think he's everyone's great and glorious leader who can bring happiness to all. In secret, he's getting information, keeping an eye on anyone who may pose a threat to the compound (such as any traitors), and he's ready to curb attempted usurpation at once.
Jamil does not trust easily; Kalim does. In fact, Jamil probably doesn't trust you when Kalim makes the decision to let you stay (he always lets everyone in; it's up to Jamil to turn those who he thinks are infected away. You can never be too careful in the apocalypse, so some may think he's heartless when it comes to deciding who can stay and who must go. But this is for the sake of the compound; you have to make sacrifices because this isn't an ideal world). Like the other compounds, you'll be given work to keep yourself busy and exercised. Whether that's by preparing ingredients for food, helping in the gardens, doing inventory of weapons and other supplies, etc. it's expected that you help out.
Kalim is quick to forgive those who may have broken too many rules or intentionally stir the pot, but Jamil won't tolerate it. Safety comes first, so he'll do whatever he must in order to ensure everyone else can continue to live at the cost of a life or two. He's had to harden his heart; the apocalypse isn't kind to those with pure hearts, yet somehow Kalim's still surviving. At least he can be a ray of sunshine amidst stormy situations.
- - -
Pomefiore is also quite orderly. Vil has everyone and everything under control, so much so that you'd think he's taken a page from Riddle's book. But being one of immense beauty (even during a crisis like an apocalypse) while having quite the famous reputation and status works well for keeping the masses at ease. Vil's word is law in the Pomefiore compound. He will not tolerate any mischief, rebellion, or foolishness, and if anyone thinks it's wise to act stupidly without regard to the rest of the compound Vil has no issue casting them out. This is to be a safe, responsible compound and he's the leader. It would be poor etiquette for a leader if he always let things like that slide, so for that reason Vil can seem quite strict and immovable. He only has everyone's best interests in mind, the biggest being survival. You must understand that he's doing what's right for his compound, even if the right thing is achieved at a few lost lives.
The towers in the Pomefiore compound are perfect for analyzing faraway areas with scopes, binoculars, and anything with ranged sight. It's also good for sniping. Rook usually mans one of the towers, taking down anything he deems a threat to the surrounding territory that Pomefiore has claimed as its own. He usually leads a group to hunt and gather, often returning with wondrous success. Epel wants to accompany him on these runs (he always arms himself with his trusty brass knuckles; he's actually quite good at hand-to-hand combat, and he's always improving each time he spars with Vil or Rook), but Vil forbids him from going on these runs. Until Epel can beat him or Rook in a fight, he will stay within the compound and complete other tasks. Epel usually works within the fields and gardens, tending to livestock and crops because he has expertise in doing such things. You will probably join him for these duties if you can't fight, use magic, or hunt as well as the others can.

Ignihyde is the perfect place to go to during the apocalypse. With the best, high-functioning technology, an abundance of resources, and a power supply that can last for many years to come, it is guaranteed to keep you safe. With STYX's technology and resources, the Ignihyde compound is thriving. It has been built meticulously and methodically; every part of it serves the whole. Walls rise high into the sky, it's enclosed with an indestructible dome to keep avian dangers or bad quality air out (usually putting such oxygen through a filter so that when it enters the compound it is fresh and breathable), the tech systems can create and simulate artificial sunlight, rain from sprinklers, and can even replicate the weather of the four seasons. This is probably the most sci-fi of the compounds. With the help of STYX robots and other technologies, any threats or enemies wanting to prey on the compound won't stand a chance. Any internal threats will be locked away in solitary confinement for further analysis.
Beneath the compound, there is a branch of STYX that conducts research on infected test subjects. Idia and Ortho will oversee the research, but it's Idia who is in charge and has the final say. All of the most intelligent doctors, researchers, and nurses can be found working at this branch. It functions as both a research lab and a hospital. STYX is hard at work to find a cure for the blot infections. Idia's overheard the recent success at the Octavinelle compound (he keeps tabs on every compound and knows more than you'd think), and he knows Azul wouldn't share his findings out of the goodness of his heart. Idia doesn't need his help, though. He has faith in STYX's research. They'll create a cure eventually; it's a process, not a miracle. Logical science always comes through in the end. After all, it's science that has allowed him to build up the compound so that it truly is the most OP compound in all of Twisted Wonderland. Besides, Idia's read, played, and watched his fair share of the apocalypse genre. He's very prepared for this.
- - -
Diasomnia may not be very technologically advanced like the other compounds, but what they lack in tech they make up for in magic. Some of the most powerful mages reside within the Diasomnia compound, with Malleus leading the fray. The concept of an apocalypse is not frightening nor foreign to he and Lilia. They've both lived long enough to have experienced, seen, or heard of things like famine, war, and natural disasters—each feeling like an apocalypse in its own devastating way—so an apocalypse such as this one is not very dreadful to them. They don't fear it in the way a human might, but they will provide protection to those who exist within the compound walls. The brambles that surround the Diasomnia compound's exterior are perfect for getting in the way of any enemies, and those with malicious intent will be promptly stopped by Silver and Sebek, both dedicated guards who have loyally sworn to fight for and protect Malleus. Though Malleus could also just incinerate dangerous people with a flick of his wrist if he was so inclined, commanding scalding, verdant flames to devour flesh and bone until all that remains is ash.
Lilia is very experienced in combat and in the art of war, so he usually trains those who show promise in fighting. He also scopes out the areas beyond the compound to search for supplies, sometimes going by himself and sometimes bringing Silver or Sebek along so that they may learn and train in the moment. Silver is a very rational mage; though he's prone to sleepy spells, he is a dedicated bodyguard who will always do the right, honest thing. If Silver encounters you, he will want to take you back to the compound to help you. Lilia will agree if he's there and happens to see you, a poor, little lamb in need of protection. He thinks you're simply darling. Though he may also have his own covert reasons for allowing Silver to help you. You'll never know what these are because he hides true intentions behind kind smiles and silly humor. If Sebek finds you, you may have to pray that Silver's with him to convince him into bringing you back, or you'll just have to hope he's in a pleasant mood. Sebek will not trust you, even if you appear to be genuine. Even if Malleus has made a good judge of your character, he'll still have lingering doubts. These will be snuffed the more he's reminded that the Malleus has said you aren't a danger and that you are allowed to stay and seek sanctuary with him.
Malleus grows quite attached to you the more he becomes acquainted with you. The apocalypse presents many dangers, but it also instills immense loneliness in him. He has witnessed human suffering; he knows how fragile mortals can be. And yet he knows that, as terrible as an apocalypse is, it has blessed him with one miracle: you. He won't let you out of his sights. In fact, none of the main four will. You'll always be monitored, whether upfront or in secret. If any harm were to befall you, Malleus would simply char the offender to ash on the spot. You are his most prized treasure in this grim world. He can't let you succumb to any dangers.
- - -
Rollo leads his compound fairly and responsibly. The apocalypse just reaffirms the idea that magic is harmful and dangerous and that all mages are bad, so he grows to hate magic even more than he already does. Despite this, he'll still use magic in some instances if need be. For the most part, the compound (which is essentially Noble Bell's campus and the many buildings that comprise it) is very self-sufficient. It has an advantage with the bell tower, as it's tall enough to overlook the ruined City of Flowers and what lies beyond. He'll utilize this structure as a lookout tower.
Despite the fact that he may come off as cold or unapproachable, Rollo won't turn those away from the compound unless he knows they're infected or are dangerous. He expects everyone to view him as a leader worthy of this position, and anyone who tries to go against his word will either be severely gaslit into believing otherwise or are simply never heard from again. Rollo doesn't have time to deal with insignificant pests who want to challenge his authority, so if you wish to be difficult you can take yourself and your difficulties down to the dungeons that reside underground. Punishments and interrogations are usually carried out there, far from any prying eyes so that the peace of the compound won't be disturbed. Rollo oversees everything that happens within cold, concrete walls, and he does not show any mercy to those who are traitors or spies.
Rollo will offer you protection and sanctuary when you find yourself at the compound's gates. So long as you aren't here for nefarious purposes and you aren't infected, he'll welcome you warmly. Rollo actually keeps a watchful eye on newcomers just to ensure they aren't a threat to the society within the compound. He'll give you a tour of the grounds, informing you of where everything is and it's purpose. He wants everyone to feel comfortable here despite the horrors that exist outside, so he'll do what he can to make everyone's stay tolerable. He quickly grows to like you, especially when you offer to help in any way that you can so that you can pay him back for saving you, which means you usually trail after him or deliberately seek him out looking for ways to be useful. Rollo likes that word—saving. He likes the idea of being your savior, of being the only one in this disastrous world who can offer you salvation, and since you claim you want to be useful he can think of plenty of ways you can put yourself to use.
Rollo won't ask for much. In fact, he's very sweet. You might not think so if you see villainous sides of him, but romance is hard to come by in an apocalypse. He'll give you two options: stay with him in the safety of this perfect sanctuary, or throw yourself under a deity's microscope in the outside world and hope that whatever may exist in the clouds above takes pity on your tainted soul. If you know what's best for you, you'll choose him. It's not like he's really giving you much of a choice in this matter anyway.

Helloo can I just request the dorm leaders + ortho(platonic obviously) with a gn!reader like shuri from black panther.
Like how would they react to them using their inventions against an overblot and them just being really smart.
Thank you and have a good day/night!
Going off the Wiki, but I love Shuri so freaking much. Also, I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MALLEUS’S OVERBLOT, SO DON’T SPOIL IT!
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts
Mans acts as formal as T’Challa, but is way more strict with the rules. Even though you joke around with him, he remains formal. Very rarely does he respond with an attempted joke of his own. However, you both have a mutual respect and love for one another.
You don’t stick to tradition very much, and that is something that tends to get on Riddle’s nerves because he’s very traditional. Well, that was at first. After his overblot, he learned that he needed to not be so stingy. So, you were the first to lead him through breaking tradition.
Speaking of, you assisted in taking him down when he overblotted. He knew that you were very intelligent, but the use of vibranium machinery to fight was a whole other level. Riddle stood no chance against your genius. It took a few seconds and an infirmary trip for him to really be amazed by your brilliant mind.
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar
He forms relationships based on trust and respect, so you both are actually perfect for one another. It didn’t take too long for the two of you to get together because of this. He’s not at all formal and also uses sarcasm, so it becomes a love language between the two of you.
Neither of you follow tradition or have the desire to, so that also pairs up very nicely. Sure, you will if absolutely necessary, but you won’t do it by choice. However, there were a few times where you did dress up in traditional clothing so that you can feel the comfort of being back home, and Leona doesn’t comment on it because he respects and loves you.
When he overblotted, he also stood no chance against you or the technology that you made to prepare for situations like these. You were always 5 steps ahead, using vibranium since it was the strongest metal there was in existence in any universe.
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
He also acts very formal and professional, but not as much as Riddle does. Sarcasm is thrown a bit here and there, but he doesn’t attempt to joke around with you. Respect goes both ways, but at the beginning it wasn’t always that way. He tried to get you to give up the vibranium you had access to, and you blatantly refused.
Azul doesn’t follow the traditions of the Coral Sea, and you don’t follow the traditions of Wakanda. However, the two of you are interested in each other’s cultures. So, there was one day where you met him in traditional Wakandan clothing, and he was absolutely fascinated.
You were prepared for when he overblotted, and made sure that the machinery you used would work underwater. Since you were intelligent enough to predict his overblot, you knew exactly how to fight him. What he didn’t know though is that you operated away from the actual fight, and were controlling your technology remotely.
Tumblr media
Kalim Al-Asim
Mans is the least formal person you will probably see, but he doesn’t understand sarcasm at all. He will joke around with you though, and it’s refreshing for you to see someone so light hearted at this school full of depressed people.
I don’t think he’s too traditional, but I could be wrong. You, however, are not traditional at all until he asks if you could wear something Wakandan to see the contrast. So, you did at the next party he threw, and he was amazed at how cool you looked.
When Jamil overblotted, you were nowhere to be seen. Kalim thought you got hurt and he was extremely worried until your technology showed up. You, with a speaker, said that you were operating it remotely, and that you were alright. Bro let out a huge sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
He’s definitely very professional, but he won’t hesitate to use sarcasm and wit to put someone in their place as a nonviolent solution. So, when you decide to joke around and be all silly, he will reprimand you by making a sarcastic remark.
Vil has had to wear all sorts of traditional clothing because of roles he was casted for in movies, so he understands if you choose to wear Wakandan clothing. When you do, he will compliment you on how it looks on you, but won’t give it too much attention.
When this Housewarden overblotted, he foresaw your using technology. However, after all the others, you were constantly making upgrades as you learned more about the technology in Twisted Wonderland and how you could use it to add an element of surprise. Needless to say, your tech was the victor.
Tumblr media
Idia Shroud
Mans really wanted to ask you to marry him once you showed him that your technologically inclined mind matched his. He just about made a ring when you helped him upgrade Ortho time and time again. However, he gets so flustered around you, especially when you get comfortable enough to joke around with him. Don’t expect him to make a sarcastic remark.
He understands not wanting to follow tradition, but he’s kind of forced to because of the curse that was placed on his family long ago. But, there was one time where you showed up to Ignihyde in traditional Wakandan clothing and he was shocked since he hadn’t seen anything like it.
You both actually clashed together when he overblotted, but luckily you didn’t tell him all of your secrets. You had the element of surprise on your side, and you used it to your advantage. Since your machines were made out of vibranium (the little key secret), they were nearly indestructible. He wasn’t even mad in the infirmary room.
Tumblr media
Ortho Shroud
You first became friends with him because he broke down due to a bug in his system. You took him to Ramshackle and gave a temporary fix that would last until you got him back to Ignihyde. Through that, you became very close, like siblings.
Ortho is aware of the Shroud family curse, and he followed in his brother’s footsteps as he followed the traditional route of the family. You had briefly mentioned your homeland of Wakanda, but nothing popped up when he searched the entirety of the internet. So he asked a bunch of questions as you helped Idia upgrade him.
During Idia’s overblot, the younger Shroud brother was also never informed of your technology because you did something special with it. It wasn’t connected to any Twisted Wonderland database, and therefore there was no way that Ortho would have known about it.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
He genuinely loves your company. Your mind is incredibly interesting, and while he has no idea what you’re talking about as you rant about how Twisted Wonderland’s technology backed by vibranium would be better, he sees the passion in your eyes.
This guy is all about tradition, but he doesn’t mind straying away from it every once in a while. After all, tradition is the reason why he has retainers. You are not one to follow tradition, but there was one time where you donned your Wakandan clothing and wore it to reminisce about your homeland, and he was very curious about where you come from. He’s not as technologically inclined as you are, but he’s seen how you use your creations in battle against all of the overblots and he is very impressed. You seem to have a lot of experience… if only he knew…

driving with prefects
Tumblr media
in honor of constantly being reminded that leona can drive, i am writing up a brief dorm leader head canon post. i just think it would be a fun set of head canons, you know? (also it’s been a bit since i’ve posted like content).
i haven’t read any translations for the new event ft. leona and whatnot. so if my head canons don’t align with canon...take it with a grain of salt.
for the sake of these head canons, i’m mostly thinking about manual cars. because i know magic enhanced technology exists within twst. but when i think about driving, i’m thinking about like...regular cars, you know.
malleus draconia
unfamiliar is malleus with manual cars. after all, they’re so different from vehicles operated by magic alone. when he gets behind the wheel, he’s very cautious. sometimes, the things he does are reckless (your heart was beating so fast it would have exploded). but that’s because he isn’t used to driving with stick. or even having experience with manually shifting the car into different modes. he also needs to put his seat as far back as possible because of how tall he is and he needs a tall car so his horns aren’t squished. it can get very uncomfortable very quickly.
child of man, this car is very confusing. how do i activate the windshield wipers? i would not want us to get into an accident.
riddle rosehearts
getting on the road is honestly the worst for him. riddle is an anxious driver. he hates traffic, hates people honking at him, and most certainly hates getting on parkways and highways. he doesn’t mind driving in the countryside where he can drive smoothly and as fast as he desires. no one’s around after all. but with other people, he becomes a mess. he also has a bit of road rage within him. you’ve never heard someone curse as much as he did when someone cut him off. riddle also happens to follow the rules a little too well. he’s always going under or at the speed limit, always checking his blind spots, always signalling his turns even in parking lots. he is, arguably, the best parker.
oh come on! didn’t even signal while switching lanes! cut me off and everyone else too! there’s more than you in the world you know!
vil schoenheit
vil is an awful driver. not in the sense that he doesn’t follow the general rules of driving (because great seven forbid he gets into an accident and it becomes a scandal) but in the way that his braking tends to be...janky. his turns can range from being smooth to jarring. and the man lacks the ability to park. he’s horrible at parking. you learned your lesson when you got into the car with him driving (better off with rook). ironically, he’s a lot better at driving while he’s multitasking, like touching up his makeup or answering phone calls. honestly, he just needs a little practice. with every drive, he improves even in the slightest. he has no problem dedicating hours to practicing driving either. he just doesn’t have the time right now.
normally i don’t drive. my father had drivers for me. but i can. it’s just...been a while. i’m a little rusty is all.
leona kingscholar
leona, having driven for a while now, is one of the best drivers amongst the prefects (and arguably the whole school). he follows the general rules but definitely enjoys going fast. he especially likes to take scenic routes (there’s something peaceful about late night drives, you know). however, he is very possessive of the aux. you’re not allowed to play your playlists unless it’s a really long trip. besides, he prefers to listen to podcasts and audiobooks while driving. he kind of has a conversation with the audiobook or podcast. it’s cute to watch leona react in real time.
that is ridiculous! doesn’t she understand that he’s the bad guy? that he’s awful? she’s better off getting with the second lead anyways!
azul ashengrotto
putting a creature from the seat into a car is a bad idea. there’s only one person that is, arguably, worse than vil. and that is azul. now, it’s not really azul’s fault. he’s not really used to land traffic rules. but that doesn’t take away from the fact that you have almost gotten into a plethora of accidents with azul behind the wheel. he gets pretty anxious while on the road and does his turn signals, lane changes. but he’s pretty awful at guessing distance and lacks spatial awareness. naturally, this also inhibits his parking skills. his parking skills are pretty awful.
the coral sea traffic is not nearly as bad. i mean half of these rules don’t even make sense (y/n)!
kalim al-asim
kalim is a wonderful driver! his driving is really smooth and he’s a joy with to be in the car. there’s always something to talk about while he’s driving. and he’ll let you play your music, podcast, audiobook. the two of you have had so many lovely conversations while driving. there isn’t much to say. plus, kalim is pretty great at parking too. he’s always willing to go on errand runs with you and take you out on late night drives.
oh (y/n)! you need to get something from the grocery store? i was heading there anyways. hop in!
idia shroud
much to your surprise, you learned that idia is not an anxious driver. he seems like he would be. but no. he feels like he’s in a video game whenever he drives. and he absolutely loves the adrenaline rush that he gets from going fast. slamming on that gas petal is extremely satisfying to him. furthermore, traffic becomes a puzzle to him. a puzzle to solve on how to get out of traffic. everyone else becomes npcs. and you have almost thrown up from how motion sick you’ve gotten in his car.
ohohoho! traffic? guess we can play a game of how to escape! it should be relatively easy considering how all the normies drive.

At the risk of being overly pessimistic, I've got some thoughts to share about HI3rd and Part 2 and whatnot. This is more of a vent post than any proper discussion or analysis but I want to share these thoughts somewhere because it's been on my mind for ages, and learning that the new UI comes tomorrow with the new patch has finally pushed me to write this.
Regarding Part 2, I will say that I'm willing to give it a shot. I know quite a few people (at least in some parts of the honkai community) felt a bit iffy about the Salt Snow Holy City arc, but I ended up loving it. So even though I haven't even started the current Fu Hua story arc, I do want to catch up and continue with the story.
But when I think about the past of HI3rd... I can't help but feel a genuine pain at the wasted potential of this game, its stories, and its characters.
There's a charm about early HI3rd that I really enjoy, partially out of nostalgia but also thinking about what could've been. So far, it seems like Mihoyo is intent on going full steam ahead and moving on. I don't see any sight of older valkyries being given minor updates (i.e. voicelines and basic animations/emoting), nor the early story being reworked, and even the original UI is getting straight-up replaced with a new design theme.
What do I think about when I think "early HI3rd"?
Hyperion. St. Freya. Shicksal. AE.
Of course this includes classic stuff like the White Comet battlesuit, or the early story arcs like the Battle of Schicksal.
But I'm also thinking about the incredibly neglected Armada and Dorm systems.
I'm thinking about all the different Valkyries and Valkyrie squads that we're told exist, yet only serve the tiniest slivers of roles in the story. The Phosdjinns (Susannah's old squad). Wendy & the Valkyries at the Schicksal base she was stationed at. Jackal, before she quit Schicksal and joined AE. Ana Schariac. Alvitr. Ragna.
I'm thinking about the fact that we still know virtually nothing about Bianka's brief stay at St. Freya. Or about how Rita struggled to become an S-Rank Valkyrie as a relatively normal person who had no stigmata like Bianka nor Herrscher powers like Kiana.
In terms of aesthetics, I think about the bright colors we associate with Hyperion and the old menus.
I think about all the old weapons & stigmata, and even the new ones, and how they have tiny descriptions that hint as so many interesting things behind the scenes. AE's Project: MEI, for instance, or Schicksal's St. 1504 labs.
I remember how often some people used to go "oh Genshin, pffft whatever, Honkai is so much better and it has cool animations and songs and it's Depression Impact and all that stuff!!!" and I used to agree with that. In some cases I still do.
But then I think about how EMPTY HI3rd feels. Genshin has some issues, but it's story has continuously been getting better, and the early content is still a fairly solid foundation. There's tons of interesting lore archives and hidden details across countless weapons, texts, and archive entries. You can learn so much about the past of Mondstadt's Aristocracy or the civilization of Sal Vindagnyr, or about the Yakshas, and Adpeti, or the 5 Inazuma sword-forging schools, and Enkanomiya, and so on.
But there's almost nothing about Schicksal or AE. We know almost nothing about how these two factions operate, aside from "they have a bunch of fancy tech".
Hyperion's not the only flying ship Schicksal has. Aside from Helios we also see and hear about others like the shuttle that the Immortal Blades used in Arc City, or the large ships we see flying in the background of the Armada home screen.
Where are those ships built? Who's crewing them? What does Schicksal do with all these resources? How are the Valkyries in these ships and stationed in bases across the world fighting Honkai in their own way?
What about AE? Sure AE has robots, but robots alone aren't enough. AE still needs leaders and people to make decisions. We know about the obvious Welt, Tesla, and Einstein. But what about Raiden's father, Raiden Ryoma, who we saw play an active role helping AE in the Second Eruption? How does he use ME to help support AE's operations? Are there others like him who make their own investments and sacrifices to help protect their corner of the world?
What was Susannah's life like before and after she joined the Phosdjinns? What about the Phosdjinns themselves? We know a tiny bit about them: their squad leader, Matilla, seemed to come to lead the squad after the past leader died in combat. The other member, Zofia, seemed to promise the old squad leader to protect Matilla. And Matilla chose Susannah herself, so she may be at least partly responsible for getting Susannah up to the point where she could join the Immortal Blades.
What's their story?
What about Ragna and the Valkyrie Assault Squad? I remember there was a CG long ago, Idk if it was permanent content or a temporary event CG, but it revealed that Ragna knew both Rita & Bianka as well as Himeko. So the same person that trained Himeko and led her into battle also gave guidance to Rita and Bianka. What was her life like? How were these incredibly influential Valkyries changed by this role model they have in common?
And speaking of Rita... in the Meow Town Escape event, Rita told Susannah how she had to work hard to join the Immortal Blades and become an S-ranker. Rita has no legendary stigma like Bianka, nor is she a Herrscher like Kiana, nor a MANTIS like Hua. So how did she get to become an S-rank? What trials did she endure, what sacrifices did she have to make?
What about Sin Mal? What happened to Cocolia's orphanage after the failure of the X-10 experiment? How did Cocolia end up working with AE, and how did she end up serving as an agent(?) for World Serpent as well?
Speaking of Cocolia, what happened to her after the Second Eruption? She went from being a minor officer in the Red Army in the middle of Siberia, to running an orphanage that also ran a secret set of experiments. What did she endure in all those years?
There's so much more I could go on about. Wendy, Ana, pre-World Serpent Jackal, Alvitr, Amber, Dr. Nagamitsu, Sin Mal.
All these characters have hints of their stories throughout the game. Sometimes it's a small set of flashbacks, some are fortunate enough to star in a single arc, and some are unfortunate enough to get most of their character development in temporary events.
And of course St. Freya itself could do with more screentime since most of that story is told through manga, not even in the game itself.
But all of these details lead... nowhere.
HI3rd is full of countless seeds of stories, little snippets that tell us that there's so much more beyond the story of our main trio. These characters don't all need full story arcs, of course not. The main story is written and done (though I think the first few chapters deserve a solid remake).
But there could've been something more. Archive entries, weapon & stigmata descriptions, new Valkyrie Chronicles episodes, etc. Schicksal HQ OW could've been revamped to tell us more about the Immortal Blades, Otto, Amber, and Dr. Nagamitsu. Sakura Samsara could've been polished to meet modern standards, giving both Kallen and Sakura fans better content without having to write them into a new part of the story.
Heck, I even think Mihoyo could've even released a "St Freya semi-open world". Make a "Chapter 0" prologue that takes place in Nagazora when Mei awakens her Herrscher power and when she & Kiana meet Bronya. Then make a couple of short story missions mandatory in the Schicksal semi-open world, then lead that into Chapter 1. That way the Main trio gets a proper introduction and we're not thrown into an in-progress story with no proper beginning.
Then that Schicksal semi-open world could have been filled with all sorts of content that develop the early story without having to cram lots of stuff into the post-Selene events. Short slice-of-life stories in the St. Freya school days, little peeks at the past life of Himeko and Theresa, archive entries telling us more about Schicksal & St. Freya.
Players that want to advance the main story can do so almost right away, just with a bit of extra context going into the action. But old & new players alike could revisit this era of Honkai and learn more about these beloved characters, and the rest of the story could continue as-is without having to cram extra story arcs elsewhere somehow.
I've been thinking about all this stuff for months, hell maybe a couple years now. As someone who plays HI3rd, Genshin, and HSR, and enjoys all 3 games equally, I like to see how these games can all learn from one another. HI3rd has so, so much room to grow as a game and as a story experience, and Genshin & HSR provide a lot of examples of ways this can be done.
There's a lot of room to adjust the early story of HI3rd and add content without bogging down the pacing of the main sequence of events, just like Genshin & HSR have lots of side content like character stories, stuff that's important and enjoyable but also isn't part of the main story and doesn't get in the way of those events.
But as far as I can tell... none of this is ever going to happen. At least not anytime soon.
Part 2 is here, and the new UI is coming. We'll soon get introduced to a new cast of characters, and new stories will be told.
But I don't agree with the whole "let the past stay in the past" thing here, because these aren't finished stories. HI3rd has countless untold and unfinished stories already.
I think expanding on the stories of these characters and organizations will only improve the rest of the game.
Learning about Jackal's past will make her more than just a mustache-twirling villain that throws a tantrum when Senti breaks her toys.
Learning about Wendy will make her an actual character and not a shitty "look at this character and their sad back story, oh no they turned evil, oh no they died off-screen! how sad :(" character.
Learning about Himeko's past is obviously going to make her sacrifice feel more impactful. Final Lesson was already sad, but what if we had in-game story content that showed us what happened to her when her father died, and when she joined Schicksal? What if we got to witness her growth under Ragna's leadership and the way her life was changed when Ragna died?
All of these characters could benefit from a bit more backstory, even the Main Trio. Exploring these early stories would make HI3rd's setting feel so much more alive and thought-out. Not everyone cares that much about these characters, but Mihoyo has the power to give them a reason to care.
I know not everyone likes the way the Elysian Realm story played out, but I think nearly all of us can agree that the Elysian Realm did a great job at presenting the story of the Flame-chasers. We get archive entries that tell us key scenes of their past, and we interactions with them that show us their personalities. But so many other characters outside of the Elysian Realm get nothing like that.
Obviously implementing even some of these ideas would take a lot of time and effort. I understand why Mihoyo might've chosen not to address the early story, because for a given amount of resources they're gonna make more profit off of continuing to move on and make new characters and focus the story around them.
But knowing why things happen doesn't stop me from being disappointed about them. Even if Part 2 turns out positively, that won't fix all the broken things in Part 1.
As I write this, I'm listening to one of the Genshin OSTs from the Narzissenkreuz Ordo. Having finished that world quest series recently, I keep thinking about just how incredible that story was. The story of these characters and the tragedy they endured reminds me so much of the struggle of the Flame-chasers. But that was all side-content. It was unvoiced quests with minor characters with simple models. But they had so much life to them. They had interesting motives to push them through the story, and they had interesting connections with each other. The story of the Narzissenkreuz is just one part of the many intertwined stories of Teyvat, and it's a beautiful part.
And then I think about HI3rd, and I wish I could have this same experience with HI3rd, where I could think about the lives of these characters and their motives and the struggles they go through, but I just can't. Not without diving fully into the realm of fanfiction and dreaming up stories that give these characters the life they never got to live, and which they may never get to live in the canon of HI3rd.
All these seeds of stories that were planted years ago and neglected ever since. Never watered, never sprouting, never getting to see the sun.

Tyranno Kenzan (Hassleberry) Headcanons 🦖💥
Because the inner machinations of my mind urge me to go feral, as I do, over this boy. Enjoy my madness.
Tumblr media
He's very familiar with plant life, to the point of knowing their scientific names and being able to recognize edible plants and herbs in the wild. He's confused Syrus and Jaden many times by picking a plant seemingly at random and munching on it as they walk back to the dorms.
He has this innate ability to sense when it's going to rain/storm, both because of his leg tensing/aching and he gets HORRID migraines when the weather changes significantly. And he despises them. He doesn't like being dizzy.
Doubly, his leg cramps far more that he gives off, but he doesn't want to bring it up most of the time. Jim's the only one that's noticed, because Karen will nuzzle her head against Tyranno's leg when it's sore.
[Cut for the sake of breaking up the text!!]
He gives such blatant neurodivergent vibes, like that is an autistic man right there!!! but the notable parts of it are him being the type to communicate with/subconsciously stim through growls and grunts, especially when trying to focus, and he chews stuff (his necklace, fingernails, pencils, random ass stick he found outside-)
He really likes creature feature films!!! He has a small collection of collectors edition copies of movies in the genre, and outside of Jurassic Park, his favorite is the original Godzilla.
On the subject of movies, he cries so easily at them. Like during any peak emotional moment, my man would be tearing up without THINKING ABOUT IT
He has an internal list of all of his friends' birthdays, music tastes and food preferences ^^ as the token mom friend does
If the others are ever running late for something, he'll just scoop them up and start SPRINTING, like man's got no chill, he WILL lift you like a bag of cement onto his shoulder and RUN
He absolutely HATES VR headsets, they only make his migraines come back, and they're also too high-tech for him,,
He can talk to Karen. Like, the two have full on conversations while Jim's doing something nearby. Jim would be working on homework and in the background its back and forth growling.
Every. Single. Time. They go to the beach, he will run off and start digging a hole in the sand. No purpose, he just digs. And usually Jim and O'Brien join him!
I imagine he was raised in a home that operated on the "take care of your own stuff first, but help when you can" discipline, and while he's happy to do stuff for his buds, they're not immune to a lecture on responsibility every now and then
He has a dino-themed apron and he's a stress baker, something Judai and the others discovered during his first exam season.
Additionally, I imagine he started spending more time with Prof. Sartyr (the Ra dorm leader) after their duel, where they get to cook together and he expands on his already decent homemaker skills.
Yes I said homemaker skills, that man is a malewife and a PROUD one and I will stand by it.
Tumblr media
⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ EXHIBIT A HE LOOKS SO HAPPY ABOUT IT!!!
I was informed by some lovely Discord people that he has some fascination with mob/yakuza films, and I can't unsee the idea of him throwing in some gangster phrases mid-duel. Like he comes out with the "swimming with the fishes" and everything.
(Which, sidenote, I also imagine he was super offended by the one Society of Light duelist who talked like a gangster and got a little snobby about it-)
He signs his name by drawing a little dinosaur in the "R" of "Tyranno". I know he does he told me himself.
Similar to the stuff with Karen, he's the kind of person to respond to animal noises with similar noises. Like, he meows back at Pharaoh when he meows.
He has a horrible poker face, and is generally not a great liar. He's easy to read since he's such a physically emotive person.
Rock. Collection. He absolutely has a small pile of rocks with fossils on them in his room somewhere.
I wrote most of these a long time ago but some are newer as a result of me needing to chill~ School is hell, I almost wish I was at Duel Academy instead,,
I think I might do posts like these with all my main favourite characters from all my franchises, lemme know what y'all think :>

Match-Up Commission for @unfinished-projects-galore!
Hi, thank you for the matchup request! Just a reminder, matchups are commissions on my blog!
Hm, out of the characters I feel like a lot of people could be good matches, but here’s the two I chose for you...
HxH — Feitan
Tumblr media
Surprisingly, he’s quite an artsy guy (he was actually reading an artbook in one of the Yorknew scenes). While yes they usually come in brutal or unconventional forms, he does have an appreciation for them, perhaps that’s one reason why he got so close to Chrollo too. Either way, if you happen to be into painting or drawing, he’ll likely be drawn to you from the start. He isn’t much of a reader but he likes artworks a lot, the weirder or darker they are the better for him. But if you like to make wholesome illustrations he does have a soft spot for them too, so really the limit is the sky haha. He won’t be able to outright say that he likes your work since he’s so emotionally constipated, but he will definitely be watching you do your work from afar. He probably doesn’t really care too much about your schoolwork since he isn’t really into academics, so whether or not you study for exams isn’t his business.
Speaking of which, he probably looks for people who are independent or are able to be by themselves for long periods of time. He can’t stand people who depend on others for too many things, almost like they’re not able to function without the other. Because of this, he likes that while you do give him some time you also let him do his own stuff. If you aren’t part of the troupe, this will be even more important because he a) doesn’t want you to get hurt if you follow the troupe around and b) he knows he can’t always be there for you because of troupe operations. He’ll check up on you from time to time because while he hates admitting it, he does like hearing your voice. Expect random calls from him at like 2am or 6pm, it really doesn’t matter when he’ll just pick up his phone and call you haha.
Another thing you two share is liking to be in smaller groups or by yourselves. He feels safe around the troupe even though they’re a big group because he’s known them forever, but if he’s supposed to survive in a room with more than four people he doesn’t know, he’d rather kill them. He values the strong, intimate connections people make when in smaller or 1-to-1 relationships, so you two won’t have a problem there. He likes spending time with you without a lot of people around since it helps him feel like there’s some privacy in the relationship. He doesn’t like knowing others are peering into his private life that much.
Speaking of privacy, he will want to keep things like PDA to a minimum. He loves you yes but he also doesn’t want people snooping into his private life. Because of that, the most PDA he will do outside is pull you closer to him if he thinks you were about to get hurt but that’s it. Hand-holding? Maybe if you’re lucky and only the troupe’s around, but no hugging and definitely no kissing is to be done when others are able to see you two. He’s surprisingly soft when it comes to physical affection, maybe he’s scared to break one of your bones. He also values time spent with you. He doesn’t see himself as a good gift-giver because he tends to think gifts = practical things one might need, so you might not get a fancy dress or new shoes for example. However, he does think that spending time with you is important, so he’ll go out of his way to make as much time available as he can with his busy schedule. If Phinks starts asking him where he goes half of the time Feitan will give him a quick glare but not say anything (he might be blushing slightly).
TWST — Vil
Tumblr media
Look, it’s Pomefiore! This bold dorm leader likes you because you two share similar hobbies but also because it’s sort of like an opposites attract moment. He has no issues being in the spotlight, having to converse with fifty new people at once, etc. But at the same time, he wants someone who will give him a bit of calm in his already chaotic life, which is why he values people that might want smaller groups of friends, more intimate relationships, things like that. He sees you as an escape from more or less the harsher world because he can be himself around you without putting on the perfect persona, and because you are chill he’s able to chill out too haha.
I think you two would have all-nighters talking about your favorite books or favorite artworks. He’s a big reader, he just doesn’t have all the time in the world to pick up as many stories as he would want to. Because of this, if you happen to have books you liked that he hasn’t read yet, I think he would appreciate it if you just talked to him about those stories, even stories you want to rant about he would love listening to you. He also is a big film critic, so if you have any films you want to watch, it might be fun seeing it with him. He points out different aspects of the film that you might not have thought about before, but he also likes to just appreciate the movies silently. It might be a good idea to do the classic movie date with him!
Something that might scare people away from Vil would be his cold exterior or his extremely rigid criteria for what is “beautiful.” However, I highly doubt he would actually judge people for looking differently from him or from the conventional beauty standards. If you wear things or style yourself in ways that make you comfortable and in ways that you like, I think that would be good in his eyes. He probably sees beauty as more of a “can you be confident in what you like” or “do you appreciate yourself” more than just “does it look aesthetic.” He will make you do skincare with him if he thinks you would be interested and he might enjoy doing your hair from time to time (he likes experimenting with styles bear with him lol), but in the end he thinks what you do with your fashion is what he’ll support. Now if he thinks what you wore that day was horrendous, he won’t cut corners, but that literally never happens since the only person he thinks has bad fashion is RSA HAHA! I think he would actually like your hairstyle, mainly because it’s so bold in his opinion.
He definitely has no issues with PDA unless fans or snooping news reporters are around. He loves holding your hand, playing with your hair, just sitting next to you. He might honestly be touch-starved because he had to grow up so quickly and be independent for most of his life, so I imagine any form of soft affection would make him flustered. He’s emotionally constipated, so he won’t know how to express he wants you to hug him, expect him to just give you a long stare as if you are able to read his mind. He likes giving affection through quality time the most though, mainly because he never had a lot of connections in his past and values getting to know someone.
Speaking of which, similar to Feitan I think he would want someone who can be independent. He’s extremely busy, which means he doesn’t have all the time in the world to take care of you. He tries to make as much time for you as he can, but in the end he still ends up with way more tasks than he asked for. If you’re able to take care of yourself when he’s not around, he’ll definitely appreciate it and find a way to make up for lost time. He loves you for who you are, and would honestly love every minute he gets to spend with you.

Shake it Up
What if you and the dorm leaders were in swapped positions? Now, Azul Ashengrotto is the magicless prefect from another world, while you are the conniving octomer ensnaring people in contracts.
Characters: Azul, Jade, Floyd, You (Reader), mentions of Crowley and Jamil.
Cw// acting out of character (kinda), overblot stuff, indentured servitude, Jade Leech typical behavior, Floyd Leech typical behavior, mentions/implications of injury
Tumblr media
Come winds of the Caspian Sea
- Azul…doesn’t want to be in this world. He’s got a lot to do, he’s helping manage his parents restaurant and he has schoolwork he’s desperately trying to catch up on. And, more importantly, he’s stuck in a world that is definitely not his own and he hates it
- He hates that he’s easily pressured into being a janitor for Crowley within hours of arriving in a dilapidated dorm. He hates how this motherfucker can lord his power so strongly over him and he can do nothing, because there’s no recourse.
- Azul has no Grim to worry about, surprisingly. He does have his braincell duo though, which just makes him want to bang his head against his wall. Yet, he can’t find it in him to turn them away when they show up begging for help with their dorm leader.
- you’re the housewarden of Octavinelle, the one who embodies the pure benevolence of the sea witch herself, an ultra-talented and betentacled beauty that additionally had time out of your day to manage each of your students dutifully, and run a cute little coffee and tea shop that sincerely set the mood that Octavinelle is a relaxing, calming place.
- Well, other than the fact your vice housewarden, Jade Leech, was helping to run a background operation focused on providing the…finer things in life.
- Azul, magicless and lost in a world he didn’t know, decided that steering clear of you and the shady mermen at your beck and call was probably the safest choice for him.
- He’d heard of you and the favors you could grant someone but…he knew better than to accept that something would come for free
- Bullied in his world for being “slow” and “fat”, he’s terrified of being seen as weak or worthless, which means being at the bottom of the food chain makes him insanely nervous
- What else makes him nervous? The fact that your eel mermen seemed to have taken a personal interest in him.
- “Eheheh, you’re like a little octopus yourself! I could just gobble you down, eh Jade?”
- “Fufufu, don’t taunt the poor thing Floyd, you’ll scare him off.”
- Azul. Didn’t want these two around. But he could not stop them from following him. Jade began to escort him from class to class, carrying his books for him and clearly trying to get some sort of information from him, but what it could be was Azul’s best guess
- Floyd took to hovering nearby and scaring off any would-be bullies, deciding rather quickly that Azul was under his protection and he was now the only one allowed to bother him.
- Azul is remarkably good at managing your cafe. Whether it’s because he’d perfected his customer service persona or because he had business tactics memorized from his own world, who knew.
- It was likely, however, to be related to his parents restaurant and his time working there while younger that helped him help you
- When you end up creating a school wide network of servants over the course of a few months, Crowley goes to Azul to get him to deal with it. Azul is, frankly, not interested, but after some blackmail persuasion he finally decides to get involved
- “You know, Azul. With one of my contracts, I could give you some magic. Perhaps not a lot, but enough to help you. You could protect yourself, excel in classes. I could even offer you a spot here in Octavinelle, if you’d like to make a deal.”
- It’s the perfect trap, carefully laid out by yourself and Jade, ready to ensnare him.
- “I…” Azul contemplates it. He can feel the tweels eyes on his back as he stalls, “I want to make a deal.”
- A deal is made, and Azul does indeed get magic. Slight problem though, you control how, when, where, and why he gets to use it. So really, he doesn’t have magic except when you need him to go corner some student who didn’t pay their debt.
- Unsurprisingly, he wants out pretty quick. He’s gonna miss having magic but anything’s better than this
- Remember how in the original timeline, Yuu/MC pulls out a supervillain plot? Yeah Azul does that, except he has no friends which means this dude is completely terrifying that he managed to do it at all.
- He starts with planting rumors about you, using his magic when it should be restricted specifically to spite you, creating connections and climbing the tower, and calling in a few favors from the previous overblot victims (Leona and Riddle) so when you finally catch wind that he’s been backstabbing you, he’s already hiding.
- Ruggie and Leona don’t get involved but the tweels do, taking him out for some ~quality time~ that definitely didn’t make him have three asthma attacks and end up in the nurse’s office for a couple days.
- Genuinely has no idea that anyone is merfolk and nearly shits himself when you overblot after he stole not just his contract, but every other contract he could get his hands on (which was roughly 30-ish, he only has two arms)
- He’s surprisingly good at fighting? Like, yeah he fought the other overblots but he had backup and the tweels aren’t even there, they’re still on their way to help
- Your overblot ends with you both covered in bruises and a whole lot of crying and apologizing. 30 contracts weren’t really a big deal in the grand scheme of things but Azul was being a bitch so I guess fairs fair.
- Oho, remember the Scarabia arc though? Guess who helps out Azul when he’s kidnapped held captive by Jamil?
- Ding ding ding we have a winner it’s you and the tweels (who have adopted Azul as their emotional support human. Floyd has five million nicknames for him but none ever stick because Azul’s Azul.
- Anyway, when he shows up covered in grime and exhausted, with a stolen flying carpet, you ask zero questions and immediately hide him from the Scarabian students following him. They take back the flying carpet and you grill them on what’s going on, since he’s half passed out behind the bar while Floyd pretends he’s not there and Jade’s off getting some basic medical supplies, and eventually they leave.
- It’s pretty quick for you to realize that not only is he in pretty bad shape, but someone’s been messing with his mind because he is CONSTANTLY complaining about hot weather and would not go into Scarabia willingly (you’d know, he straight up refused to follow a contractee in there when he was working for you) so the fact he was there for what, three days straight? Something’s fishy and it isn’t you
- After dutifully nursing your poor, unfortunate soul back to health (in the span of like, two hours he was back to normal, just tired and sore. He ate like he was getting ready to hibernate though which just made everyone else so concerned) he’s finally ready to spill what happened.
- Your plan isn’t really different than OG Azul’s plan. Everyone in this group is on equal intellectual footing and you basically have two Azul’s in terms of scheming. Even if Azul is completely out of it and also can’t remember key details of the last few days for some reason it’s. It’s fine he’s fine.
- Floyd doesn’t trade his UM for a deep voice though. He trades it for not having to do dish duty for the next month. Not an important thing but just so you guys know.
- Most of the Scarabia arch stays the same after that, with the acceptation that Jamil only NOW begins to hate Azul, which was honestly his own dumbass fault for bringing this dude in there.
- Anyway Prefect Azul and Jade end up studying together because despite the fact that he could pull the “you should talk to Y/N” he actually finds himself fond of this little magicless human. He doesn’t even poison him when he has the chance! And Azul appreciates his cooking and his tea skills even if he’s not a huge fan of the mushroom thing.
- Floyd and Azul are…a duo. One with wildly varying magical prowess, the other with a good chunk of brain cells, both with the urge to make things harder for other people for their own amusement. Azul has nothing to lose by not masking so he and Floyd end up getting into mischief quite a bit. OG Azul would not approve.
- Azul also wears clothing more on the comfortable part. He’s working hard all the time, shouldn’t he be able to wear something more comfortable? Also he can’t afford the expensive clothes crowley doesn’t give him nearly enough pocket money-
- Azul is an excellent barista in your cafe and earns bank in tips when he works though. Maybe it’s cause he’s cute maybe it’s because his drinks are good who cares
- Overall, Prefect Azul is a lot more chaotic but just as smart as OG Azul which means he’s just as terrifying. He may not have magic but he does have two eels that adore him and You, his benevolent sometimes-boss-sometimes-enemy-usually-friend to look out for him

THE GROUP.
Nation's Trophies, former Monster Rookies, 4th Generation Leaders  – all the titles attached to Night Child, mostly operating under the acronym NTCD, a fictional boy group under the south korean media tycoon MBN Entertainment. Debuting in late 2018 to massive success and never once losing momentun since then, NTCD is the crown jewel of their company, something near a second coming of acts like BTS or Blackpink.
A sinic band in private that can only ever bond over the cruel and sinister, they're in an almost deadly competicion against each other to see who's king. Detached from most things given their monstrous fame and magnum opus status inside their company, they only ever come down their shiny spot up the mountain to get violent.
Tumblr media
THE MEMBERS.
Tumblr media
i. Joseph 'Josh' Song - the Enabler. / ii. Kim Yongho - the Snake. / iii. Piyawat 'Code' Leeyao - the Fuckup. / iv. Kwon Dongwook - the Monster. / v. Jeong Jinsoo - the Creep. / vi. Park Gunil - the Nobody. / vii. Kim Hyunbin - the Freak. / Jang 'Cain' Inho - the Liar.
Tumblr media
THE CONNECTIONS.
LOOPiN - Rivals: Mostly motivated by the existence of Dongwook, a former Boy Of The Week member who was violently quicked out of the project by Seungsoo's intricate plotting, and has been obsessing ever since with the idea of revenge, of humiliating them one by one. Left no choice but to trust Gunil with a deeming secret after an accident, Haruki constantly puts him under trust tests; J.J's complicated and ever growing involvement with Dongwook keeps exiling him from his bandmates, pushing Jiahang further down a bottomless pit.
IDOLMAKER - Rivals: With IDOLMAKER's company being a subsidiary of MBN, they've had one too many sour encounters with NTCD. Yongho has the nasty habit of never letting Seunggi, IDMK's main rapper and his once boyfriend, take a step without his consent now that they're reunited; Hyunbin's obsession on pursing Tomomi has tired her and every single one for her members beyond cooling down; Josh's rising influence over the innerworkings of the company reminds Hosung too much of his deceased and despised brother.
AIR CASTLE - Rivals: The MBN group debuting right after Night Child's massive rookie year, girl group Air Castle has had to tippy toe around their seniors and their habit of uplift them just to tear them all appart. Cain's constant attempts to get back at his ex grilfriend, main vocalist and main star Evelyn, by pursuing Lihua, a bandmate that hates her, might cause a civil war inside their dorms.

Hmm I wonder if Crowley and the school staff, Riddle, Dence, Ruggie, Azul, Jamil, Epel, Rook, Idia, Malleus, Sliver and Sebek found out that some certain people skipped the school and went to the amusement park? Also how would they react?
Tumblr media
I’d imagine they'd mostly have the pretty normal and expected initial reaction of being shocked that the others snuck out on a school night to a sketchy theme park and managed to come back from a human trafficking operation in one piece. To give a little more detail to each:
Riddle would collar Trey, Cater, and Ace, then lecture them for breaking various school rules, putting themselves in danger, disobeying his command to not sneak out and skip school, etc. He especially lays into the seniors for "not setting a proper example" for the Heartslabyul students.
Deuce awkwardly stands off to the side and watches as they get berated, occasionally nodding and going, "That's right!" in response to their dorm leader. (Ace gets annoyed and tells Deuce off, probably saying something like, "Don't act like YOU weren't interested in going earlier, dummy!")
Ruggie wails about how he would've enjoyed hanging out at a place that offers free everything. He makes jokes to cope with the situation, like poking fun at how the "straight-laced" Jack has a rebellious streak and how Leona's soooo responsible and selfless for chasing after his juniors. Ruggie also jokes about how he's glad his walking wallet "best" employer Leona-san made it back safely... and hey, he wouldn't have happened to have brought back a souvenir for his ever-so loyal hench-hyena, would he?
Azul tries to present as cool and uncaring to the twins; he tells them that if they fucked up and lost their autonomy because of their poor decisions and giving into their curiosity... well, that's their bad and they deserve the consequences of their actions. Jade and Floyd pal around with him, draping themselves over his shoulders and teasing him about how "It's okaaay, just admit that you missed us, admit that you were worried!" Deep down, Azul really was (but he'll never say that out loud and let the twins have an upper hand over him).
Jamil has a fucking heart attack knowing just how close he was to a dead and/or missing Kalim. Not because he cares or anything, but because his own ass would be grass if anything happened to Kalim. Jamil looks him over like five times to make sure not a hair on his head is harmed (all while Kalim is laughing, reassuring Jamil that he's fine, and telling him stories about all the fun times he had at Playful Land). When Kalim starts to suggest inviting Fellow and Gidel to their next banquet, Jamil silences him with a firm, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!"
Rook waxes poetic about how he's so relieved that their beautiful Vil has returned to them. He'll faithfully fetch Vil whatever he needs to rest and recover from such a heart-pounding adventure!
Epel grumbles about how he wishes he could have gone too ("'N shown those puppets what fer!!"), only to get bonked and told off by his dorm leader. (Ace will tell him stories later, which makes Epel super envious.)
Idia tells Ortho that "touching grass" does them no good, it only brings misery and suffering like what he went through at Playful Land! The worry dies down and is replaced with keen interest the more Ortho tells him about the island's operations. They have a jammer that prevented Ortho's normal functions from working? Idia takes it as a personal challenge--who do they think they are, trying to trump this genius inventor? He'll show them what he's made of by powering up his little brother!
Sebek loudly insists they need to go and dismantle the shadowy organization responsible for attempting something so foolish as to entrap and sell THE Lilia Vanrouge off! Who do they think they are?! Man's absolutely appalled and enraged but also choking back tears at what he perceives is Lilia's nobility, so willing to throw himself into the heat of battle to save others!! Sebek tells Ace he should be "grateful" that Lilia saw it fit to save "such a pathetic lot of humans" from absolute destruction.
Silver frets over his father, but he's ultimately proud of him for acting the role of a reliable senpai and looking out for his underclassmen. (This is the reason he assumes for Lilia going to the shady park.) And, of course, he's glad to have his father back home with him. He insists on looking after him the day of his return, saying that Lilia has gone through a lot lately--and as the triumphant hero, he deserves to relax!
Malleus isn't worried about Lilia (he knows that Lilia can handle himself just fine) so much as he's disappointed that he wasn't invited to go along. He's curious about all that Lilia experienced in Playful Land and listens to his tales with wide eyes. Malleus is not really paying attention to the dangers present (after all, he is confident he could blow it all away if it dares to encroach on his autonomy). Lilia laughs and says they should take a trip to another amusement park sometime.
The staff would be collectively sad that their students would act out like they have. This is especially true of Trein, who is more disappointed than mad. He chastises the boys in a way that makes you feel bad for making like... a grandfather upset. He wonders if he has somehow mentored his students incorrectly or instilled the wrong values in them.
Crewel expresses his disappointment in a different way. He's harsher with his students: "Since you bad boys thought it fit to skip Crewel-sama's lecture, you must have already mastered the materials. Pencils out for a pop quiz!" That's his tough love out on full display, stemming from the desire to ensure that his students can survive on their own out there in the cruel wide world.
Vargas tries to not linger on the negative feelings for too long. He'll encourage the boys to get back on their feet and moving. Movement means more blood circulation, and less of a reminder of the stiff puppets the kids almost turned out to be. Vargas never vocalizes his intentions for fear that him having a negative outlook might influence his students. So instead, he wears a grin and belts out a hearty laugh to keep their spirits high.
Sam will listen to his customers' woes, just as any good shopkeep would! There's a lot of useful information to pick apart from the people who drift in. A strange business like Playful Land? It piques Sam's interest in the mysterious and the unknown--he's delighted with such fantastical tales, and invites his customers to tell more. Sam's always here to lend an ear! And hey, if you get thirsty from all the gabbing, why not buy a drink from the Mystery Shop since you're already there? :)
Crowley wipes his brow and sighs in relief... What could have been a massive PR nightmare was just narrowly avoided!! (He still crows at the students that snuck off though, since he's suuuuuch a caring instructor that deeply cares about their education!!)

“Something’s up with her,” Sooyoung muttered with narrowed eyes as she watched their youngest member slip out the door with a smile far wider than usual adorning her lips. Jungeun hummed in agreement, eyes glued to the front door. “Who?” Jinsoul questioned, clueless, receiving a playful punch on the shoulder from Hyejoo. “Yeojin, you dummy,” the youngest in the room scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “What do you think she’s up to?” Choerry asked, eyes dancing with curiosity. “Drugs?” Hyunjin pondered thoughtfully, earning immediate shouts in disagreement from all the members. “I was kidding,” she raised her arms defensively, shaking her head in amusement.
“We could always follow her,” Heejin suggested, eyes darting towards their leader in search of approval. “I don’t know, she’s old enough to be making her own decisions now,” Haseul mumbled, gnawing on the inside of her cheek. “Aren’t you even a little curious?” Chaewon spoke, raising her brows. The leader merely hummed, unable to deny her growing curiosity, but still remaining hesitant. “I’m not entirely opposed to the idea,” Kahei provided her input, eager members cheering victoriously. “Oh what the heck, let's do this!” Haseul agreed, everything jumping to their feet and toppling over each other as they rushed for the door.
“Just one small problem,” Heejin mumbled as they awkwardly stopped outside the dorm. “We have no idea where the hell Yeojin is,” Hyunjin finished her sentence with a proud smile. “That’s fine, Sooyoung unnie can just track her phone,” Jiwoo exclaimed with a grin, the mentioned girl nudging her side with wide eyes. “You have a tracker on her phone?” Hyejoo asked as a chuckle slipped past her triangle shaped lips. “She has one on yours too!” Jiwoo blurted out, Sooyoung running a frustrated hand through her hair. “Whatever, lets just find her,” the latter mumbled in defeat, pulling out her phone reluctantly. Everyone pushed and whined as they fought to look over her shoulder, yells of confusion echoing around them at the location displayed on her screen.
“That kid spends all her money on clothes we don’t even let her wear in public, there’s no way she can afford to go to an expensive restaurant like that!” Jungeun yelled, pointing at the screen in disbelief. “She’s probably on a date,” Hyunjin muttered, an alarmingly calm expression plastered on her face. “NO!” Several of the older girls screeched in protest, hands clapping over their mouths. “My child is growing up,” Haseul cried out, wiping nonexistent tears from her eyes. Hyejoo rolled her eyes in disgust at their exclamations, but still scrunching her face up at the thought of Yeojin on a date. “Let’s just go, and if you’re this loud we won’t go,” Kahei ordered, trying to keep her composure as everyone went wild.
Quieting down at the threat, they all began to wander aimlessly through the streets, following Sooyoung’s commands with every turn. There was the occasional grunt or shriek, but for the most part they maintained their dignity. “Are we almost there yet?” Choerry asked with an eager grin, their current map operator responding with a nod. They were all thankful that the restaurant wasn’t far from the dorms, having not thought about the possibilities of it being hours away before rushing out the door. “Is that her?” Jiwoo screeched upon turning a corner, glancing into the large glass window of a restaurant across the street. Jungeun smacks her arm in warning, the volume of the bubbly girl's voice alerting innocent pedestrians.
“Everybody be quiet!” Haseul whispered, silencing the group with her authority. They all stared wide eyed across the road, eyes locked on the easily recognisable Yeojin. “So she really is on a date,” Jinsoul muttered in surprise, squinting in an attempt to make out the mysterious person she was with. “Thank god she’s gay,” Sooyoung placed her hand over her chest, breathing out a sigh of relief. Chaewon snickered the oldest words, shaking her head in amusement. “The girl she’s with looks familiar,” Heejin muttered thoughtfully, leaning forwards to get a closer look. “Heekie you’re gonna get run over!” Jiwoo tugged the younger girl back as a car whizzed by, frowning as she pressed a kiss to her cheek.
“Oh shit,” Sooyoung muttered as she glanced down at her now buzzing phone, Yeojin’s contact lighting up the screen.
~~ You chuckled as Yeojin stared down at her plate of food with a twinkle in her eye, beaming at the expensive variation. “Dating an actress was the best decision I’ve ever made,” she exclaimed with a bright smile, beaming up at you. “I hope you like me for more than my money,” you teased, chuckling at the way she glanced around the restaurant in awe. “Of course not,” she assured, reaching across the table to grab your hand. “Although it is definitely a bonus!” She grinned, digging into the food. “What did you tell your members this time?” You asked with an amused smile, taking a small bite of your meal before focusing all your attention on her. “I managed to escape unnoticed,” she admitted proudly, eyes dancing with mischief.
Shaking your head fondly, you gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “How’s the food?” You questioned anxiously, patiently awaiting her answer. “It’s amazing, I can’t believe you’ve never suggested this for a date night before,” she spoke, reaching over to steal some food from your plate. “I wanted to save it for a special occasion,” you reasoned, playfully smacking her hand away. “It's hard to believe that we’ve already been together for a year,” you commented with a dreamy smile, Yeojin giggling at your expression. “It feels like it’s been longer,” she admitted thoughtfully, running her thumb over your knuckles. “Remember when we first met,” you brought up with a cheeky grin, your girlfriend groaning in embarrassment.
“It wasn’t that bad,” you insisted, laughing as Yeojin began to whine. “You only say that because it wasn’t you who practically forgot how to talk!” She groaned, blood rushing to her face. “I thought it was cute,” you stated, a fond smile tugging at your lips. “You’re the first person I’ve ever been shy in front of,” she confessed, face scrunched up in mortification. “Well I’m just glad you approached me,” you smiled sincerely, eyes crinkling into crescents. “Even though you couldn’t talk,” you added, unable to resist the urge to tease her. “If you don’t shut up I’m going to start regretting making that impulse decision,” she grumbled, narrowing her eyes at you.
“Nope, you love me too much!” You shook your head dismissively, eyes shining with joy. “You underestimate my ability to hold a grudge, Y/n.” Yeojin crossed her arms over her chest, sending you a threatening glare. “Fine, I’ll stop,” you concede, pouting as she turned her head away from you with a faux expression of anger. “Yeojin,” you whined, receiving only a cold glance in response. “I love you~ Please don’t ignore me!” You said her eyes narrowing slightly, the ghost of a smile creeping onto her lips. “I’m sorry for teasing you, but I would also like to remind you that your amazing girlfriend is paying for all this.” You grinned as she finally let up, dropping her arms to her sides. “You’re forgiven, but only because I love you. No more teasing tonight” she said, shooting you a warning glare.
Digging back into her untouched plate of food, she noticed you began to grow uncharacteristically silent. Glancing up, she found your gaze out the window, head tilted in confusion. “What’s wrong?” She questioned, worried by your sudden mood change. “Remember how you said you got out of the dorms unnoticed?” She hummed in agreement, raising her brows as she waited for you to elaborate. “I don’t believe you were as stealthy as you initially thought,” you winced, subtly nodding your head to the right. Following your gaze, her eyes widened in surprise, a groan leaving her lips. The urge to slam her head on the table had never been more strong, Yeojin pulling her phone from her pocket.
“Give a second,” she sent you a tight lipped smile, clicking on Sooyoung’s contact and raising her phone to her ear. She watched as the girl across the street almost threw her phone on the road in a panic before reluctantly picking up. “Hey Yeojin,” Sooyoung greeted, an audible gulp could be heard through the phone’s speaker alongside the hushed chatter of the other members. “Would you care to explain why you’re all staring at me from across the road like creepy stalkers?” She asked, voice sickly sweet as she plastered a faux smile on her lips. “Umm, would you believe me if I said we were on a treasure hunt?” Sooyoung attempted to come up with a lame excuse.
“Am I the treasure?” Yeojin huffed, meeting your concerned gaze from across the table. “Uh, no.. maybe.” Sooyoung winced at her own words. “Yeojin is that Y/n?!” Heejin’s booming voice met her ears, the bunny-like girl’s eyes wide at the revelation. “Yes,” the youngest admitted with little prying, audible gasps could be heard ringing around the group. “You’re dating THE Y/n!” Jiwoo screeched in excitement, everyone wincing at the volume of her voice. “Why didn’t you tell us?” Sooyoung asked with a frown, not liking the idea of their youngest hiding things from her. “Because she’s beautiful and you’re all feral lesbians,” Yeojin explained simply, a surprised cough leaving your lips as you choked on your drink.
“She has a good point,” Jinsoul mumbled thoughtfully. “We’ll can talk when I get home tonight, but for now let me enjoy my date,” Yeojin suggested, sending you a hopeful smile. “Fine, but you’re not getting out of this one easily!” Haseul yelled through the phone, beginning to round up all the members. “Great, now go away,” Yeojin bit back a grin as Sooyoung began to scold her. “Bye!” She exclaimed, hanging up with a sigh of relief. “All sorted?” You asked, eyes swirling with amusement at the interaction, your girlfriend hummed in agreement. “Just in time for dessert!” You exclaimed, chuckling as her expression morphed into one of pure excitement, cheering and clapping her hands as the waiter placed the sweet treats on your table.
“Does this mean that I get to meet your members?” You asked hopefully, eyes shining in anticipation. “I suppose so,” she agreed, nodding her head hesitantly. “Although I’m not sure why you’d want to. You saw how weird they are,” she shuddered at the thought, glancing across the street to make sure they’d actually left. “Yeah, but it’s kinda cute how much they care about you,” you smiled. “Care? More like nosy,” she snorted, watching as your expression fell at her words. “But if you really want to then I can arrange that,” Yeojin gave in, reaching over the table to grasp your hand once more. “Yay!” You cheered, eyes gleaming with excitement. If only you knew what you were getting yourself into.

Twisted Mafia AU??😊
Twisted Wonderland: The Mafias
(TW: mentions of death, blood, drugs, and numerous other topics associated with mafias)
Tumblr media
A Twisted Wonderland Mafia AU would be suuccchhh a cool thing to go about. All of the dorms have their own classification in the "Underworld" of crime as to what they're all about or how they handle things and how they are viewed. They're all at each other's throats constantly, but some are more likely to throw hands or pop shots than others are.
Heartslabyul would be the gang known as the Hearters, and they are typically in control of various runnings behind the scenes when it comes to either law enforcement or politicians. Riddle quickly was able to overthrow the last leader, despite his youthful appearance and small disposition, and easily was able to place Trey, the ever so silent but deadly "father figure" as his right hand man. However, when it comes to jobs dealing directly with said people, Cater is the go to man for the job thanks to his charisma and charm- but he's not above putting a bullet in someone's skull for a task. Ace and Deuce are both dubbed as the "wild cards" yet are rather high in ranking as well despite their young ages. They are the ones who could stalk down someone who screwed them over and beat them to a pulp if need be. Their trademark is a heart with a spiked mallet through it, and is usually seen on a type of pin near their neck.
Savanaclaw is a gang that goes by the name The Outlanders, and they are the ones most known to get physically violent the most often- but don't assume that means they're simply mindless. They are known for their counterfeiting, assassinations, bombings, and ways of psychological torture- and physical torture. Leona does an insanely good job of ensuring that everyone stays in line and remains cunning through it all, and this group is most known for operating on a patriarchal sort of standing. Ruggie is the type of operative that should be one of the last types you should hope to see- known for his excessive love for potential mutilation and torture devices. Jack is the one who constantly seems to be the least certain of actions against what he deems to be the "innocent", so he typically is sent as a hitman against worse enemies. Their trademark is a golden coin nestled between a set of pearly white fangs that is usually present upon the brass knuckles they wear or is a patch upon their leather jackets.
Octavinelle is by far one of the more considered "extravagant" gangs in terms of how they run things. Known as the Tenta-Couriers, this group is the most known for their more covert style of operations in the ways of money laundering, price fixing, and contract killing. Azul was easily able to seize control of the group after the mysterious disappearance of the last leader. He's the type of guy who could sit directly in front of you in his office chair with a bright smile on his face- and an unsuspecting gun aimed at your leg should you say something less than satisfactory. Jade is his cruel yet swift right hand man, known for a love of knifes and poisonings via shoving things into his victims' mouths- whichever comes first. But by far, the most terrifying of the main trio is Floyd. He is the one who you had better start either praying to whatever you believe will help you in the moment- or r u n. There is no escape and there is no end to the pain. Their trademark is a wad of cash with a tentacle wrapped around it that is usually present upon either their suits or the fedoras they wear upon their heads.
Scarabia is known to be even sneakier in their operations than Octavinelle, and thus, these two groups are constantly butting heads over their trades. Known as the Hypno-waves, this group specializes in their assassinations, electoral fraud, and antiques smuggling. Kalim is known as the bright, smiling face behind such a dark empire due to the ways of familial inheritance, so he typically is the one who treats his members more like they are family members than mere muscle or brains behind an operation. But, everyone truly knows Jamil is the one running things. A lover of the most intense kinds of psychological torture that will if and only if get physical unless his victim has a stronger mind than most, don't believe that his smile is kind. The snake isn't in the grass, here- it's right in front of you. Their trademark is a pair of ruby red eyes with a certain pattern within them that will transfix you if you stare for too long, and this is usually present upon either the henna tattoos on their skin or the special glasses they don to hide their true intentions.
Pomefiore is the most elegant in terms of the usual appearances of their members, easily able to blend in among the likes of famous pop stars, businessmen and women, and social media influencers. Known as the Shards, this group specializes in blackmailing, bribery, kidnapping, and organ trafficking. Vil is the leader in charge, with a wit and tongue almost as deadly as his looks. He is known for being the most charming of the gang leaders, easily able to coax and seduce most men, women, theys, and gays into doing his bidding. Rook is the deadly marksman of the gang, easily able to track down, identify, and execute his target with a swift hand and a cruel eye- if he's feeling merciful, that is. Epel is the newbie on the block, and it usually seems like he should be with The Outlanders due to his sometimes rash behavior. But, a charming smile here, someone inciting his anger there, and he'll be sipping a glass of sparkling cider while someone's body lay broken in the table in front of him that he just broke them over. Their trademark is a heart with a shard of glass spiked through it partially soaked with blood, typically hidden amongst their lavish accessories upon their person that shall only be revealed if it is already too late for you.
Ignihyde is by far the most quiet of the seven, and the most advanced in terms of their weaponry and technological standpoint. Known as the Soul Collectors, this gang specializes in computer hacking, embezzlement, identity theft, and securities fraud. Idia is the "silent yet violent" leader who is known to lose his temper if someone forgets who the true boss is. He's not above cyber-stalking people and sending ominous messages either directly to their phones or to their house to get them to get his work done- no matter how many times you change your address or number, he will find you. Ortho remains as the second in command, the quickest to the draw when it comes to possibly lighting someone on fire to make a point, or personally rewire the entire security system within your home simply to watch you freak out. Their trademark is a 8-bit pixel skull with glowing cyan eyes- and if you do happen to see it suddenly appear upon your phone, computer, tablet, television, or hear the chilling laughter that erupts from it being activated? You may as well cut the power out entirely- because they've already been watching you for a long time.
Finally, Diasomnia is by far the most dangerous of all of the gangs, and typically butts heads with The Outlanders in the field. Known as the Shadow Dragons, they are known best for their smuggling, drug trafficking, bombings, armed robberies, and illegal trading of nuclear materials. Malleus, surprisingly, typically is never really physically seen- in public or by his own gang. However, whenever he is known to make an appearance, an abnormal amount of strewn about body parts, blood, and maybe even burnt flesh typically follows quickly thereafter. Lilia is known as the mysterious face who definitely knows more than you may believe- after all, you could never see him in the shadows watching you, could you? Silver is known as the silent but utterly deadly assassin, known the best for striking opponents in the dead of night while they are sleeping. People near the victims of him have mentioned an odd uptake in the number of animals in the area before they pass on... Sebek is the newbie with a lot to prove- one who looks up to the leadership and power of none other than Malleus the most. If he even so much as hears you utter the name of his leader in a bad manner, expect to suddenly either hear his breathing on your neck- or a bloody bat about to knock you out and take you somewhere far, far away. Their trademark is a pitch black dragon with haunting green eyes that coils around like a snake with its wings extended, and typically is most visible going around the entirety of their necks in the form of a tattoo.
Now...the Ramshackle dorm's gang? No one quite knows about their operations fully, or even who the leader used to be. However, it is speculated that the Phantoms were once the most powerful gang of them all, and with the most skeletons in the closet.....

Azul Info Compilation part 3: Book 2, Diasomnia and Kalim
Azul has a small role in Book 2 of the main story, leading the planning committee for the Spelldrive Tournament that is the book’s main event.
Despite his position of authority, however, he is happily bribed into rearranging the logistics of the event for Leona and creating a magic-boosting potion so that Ruggie could create chaos. Jade claims that Azul knew exactly what Ruggie’s intentions had been, and Azul says “I was just thinking I wanted to refurbish the lounge, so this offer came at a most opportune time”, implying the deal that he struck was most profitable for him.

Azul is eager to extend his business network into Briar Valley but finds himself struggling to make connections within the “insular” dorm that is Diasomnia.
He attempts to get Silver indebted to him in a Halloween vignette by listening to Silver’s concerns that he is not being listened to by others in Diasomnia. Azul spends over three hours with Silver, trying to teach him how to get others to fear him as a leader, but when Silver attempts to apply this training to Sebek he fails spectacularly.
Sebek reveals that the only reason people do not listen to Silver is because he will fall asleep mid-conversation.
Undeterred, Azul tells Silver to “give Malleus and Lilia my most heartfelt regards”, later reflecting that “Silver is not indebted to me, which means I accomplished my true goal”, and that “we need every dorm operating at peak condition”, as “if the school’s Halloween event fails popularity, then more outsiders will come to visit, increasing Mostro Lounge’s clientele.”

Azul also attempts to do a favor for Sebek, selling him a special detergent to remove a ketchup stain that Sebek got onto Malleus’ lab coat.
Jade observes that “Sebek seems like a born sucker”, but Azul explains they must be careful, as “Diasomnia is also home to a number of people whose wrath we’d be unwise to incur.” Sebek returns to Diaomnia with the clean lab coat and Silver expresses concern, but Lilia assures him, “A schemer (Azul) may be, but he knows better than to make an enemy out of Diasomnia.”
Despite Silver’s apparent distrust of Azul in this vignette, we learn that Silver offered to do “anything” for Azul for his birthday in exchange for Azul lending him a textbook.

Despite this desire to connect with Diasomnia, however, he inadvertently insinuates to Malleus’ face that Malleus may have had something to do with the disappearance of a magestone during the Fairy Gala event.
During Vargas Camp 2 Azul attempts to earn Kalim’s favor by carrying Kalim’s share of firewood (Cater voices skepticism about Azul’s motives, but Jade appears to whisk Cater away).
Azul encourages Kalim to tell his parents about the favors Azul has done for him, and Kalim responds that he will be telling them about Azul but also about Lilia, Cater, Jade and everyone.
