RAINBOW DASH REDESIGN!!!!

i was really excited about this one ! she was born with a floppy ear and she’s half blind. it doesn’t really cause issues when flying, but sometimes on the ground she bumps into stuff (she’s a way better flier than walker, sometimes leading her to hover instead of walking). she got her cutie mark from the sonic rainboom like in the show, however she has to be careful because they do take a toll on her. she’s the only recorded pony to ever be able to do one, and when she did it the first time she got her cutie mark but she also got a “rainbow shaped scar” on her back leg that looked like her cutie mark in a way too. every time she does a rainboom, she gets a new mark from it, so as of now she has 4. she always had the white cloud markings though.

additionally she’s the smallest of the mane 6, even smaller than pinkie. i decided to do this because since she is smaller, her speed is like so crazy that sometimes her friends can’t even see her zip around. i might make a height chart for all my redesigns of the mane 6 later when im done.

her and pinkie are good friends in their late teens because they work together for their jobs ~ pinkie is a event planner and rainbow is a wonderbolt / stunt flier, and she stunt flies for parties as well does weather control and collects rainbows. additionally she loves the spa and her hooves are so shiny cause of rarity (she paints her hooves, they’re usually duller).

part 2 of my mlp next gen, these two are my appledash kids

pazazz and honeycrisp (zazzie and honey) are twins attached at the hip since they were foals.

despite this, they are very different (shocker). honey is as sweet as, well, honey and has big plans for her future, namely following in her mum's hoofsteps and becoming a wonderbolt, whereas her sister zazzie only really needs her paintbrush, a canvas, and her family to consider her life complete. pazazz is also the more abrasive of the two, often butting heads with other ponies (mainly ery) and being easily riled up.

zazzie and honey got their cutie marks on the same day, the confluence. slipping away to both help on their own way; with honey trying to buck as many trees as fast as possible and zazzie painting a mural on the barn for her family to return to.

apple jack is a transmasc lesbian... definitely uses almost exclusively they/he prns, but is cool with rainbow dash using she/her for him bc they know she wont do it in a misgendering way. also hes autistic! they and rainbow are dating :3

rainbow dash isnt just a butch lesbian, shes THE butch lesbian. any prns user, definetly partial to rain/bow's or rainbow/rainbow's neos (got called rainbow alot growing up so it feels more natural than any "standard" prns.) probably a bit genderfluid, doesnt really care that much honestly. why think about gender when you could think about your gf and the wonderbolts? (also they have adhd.)

rarity is absolutely a lesbian. claims men are "out of style" and "dont get fashion like girls do". she/they + lots of glam themed neos!! very femme, obviously. also shes transfem!! rarity will always be transfem in my heart tbh, idk what it is.

fluttershy is bungender and agender! uses almost strictly neos, but is far too shy to correct anyone. lovess plant and animal themed neopronouns, and is definetly a gender/pronoun hoarder!! petal's definitely also audhd :)

i feel like twilight could be transmasc, but also has far too much post-gifted child guilt and a natural goody two shoes attitude that it doesnt really feel "right" in her mind to explore her gender. i feel like she'd be open to any pronouns though, and the first time someone accidentally calls them "he" it definetly awakens something lol. also pansexual, and they have adhd and autism and ocd!!

pinkie is pansexual, i mean her cutie mark is literally the flag colors! also she definetly uses any/all pronouns, but mainly likes she/they and fun neos! also a neo/gender hoarder, loves sweet/fun themed prns :D

🧁Nopony knew why, but for some reason, ponies seemed to be vanishing from thin air. No reason for them to have left, no mention of a move, no clues as to where they had gone. Nothing. But, there was no reason to suspect foul play, either. I mean, this was Equestria, for pony's sake! Stuff like that just didn't happen here. At least, that's what everyone thought until Rainbow Dash went missing. Friend to many, aspiring future Wonderbolt, known far and wide for her speed and precision, the Element of Loyalty… It was impossible for someone like that to just vanish. The loss was felt far and wide and, needless to say, everybody in town was paranoid. You included.

🎉 Thankfully, though, Pinkie Pie was always there to try to cheer everybody up. She put up a brave front, but everyone could tell she was fighting against the pain. After all, Pinkie was friends with everyone in Ponyville! And she and Rainbow were so close… She was always at the forefront of search parties, going out all night just for a sign. And then, the next day, she'd throw an open-invite party with freshly baked cupcakes to lift morale. You felt honored to know someone so compassionate.

🧁 Slowly, more ponies disappeared. Never too many and never in a close proximity of time, just enough time for new ponies to move to town to fill their place, only to strike again once the hurt had started to fade. And in this time, you really grew close with Pinkie. You'd been friends before this, of course, (Everyone was friends with Pinkie), but never as close as the Elements were with each other. You'd stay down at Sugarcube Corner most of the day and help Pinkie in the kitchen, talking together for hours and hours. She seemed really interested in what you were passionate about, asking you about everything you liked in great detail and… Pulling out a pen and paper to write down? And you thought Pinkie was affectionate before, but now you could barely go a minute without Pinkie giving you a hug or just wrap a hoof around you.

🎉 Some nights, you'd have sleepovers together! It was a lot safer than sleeping alone, and a lot more fun! And Pinkie really opened up to you then, seeming to no longer feel the need to perform and be the funniest pony in the room. She hugged you, mane even deflating a bit as she confessed to you how stressed out and worried she was, how she hoped everything would work out okay. And despite how it hurt to know your friend was in distress, you also couldn't help but feel giddy. Pinkie trusted you enough to open up to you like this! It never lasted long, though, and soon she'd be joking and dancing and zooming around the room. As you laughed at her antics, you thought about how lucky you were to have a friend like Pinkie Pie. You didn't know what you'd do without her… Good thing no ponies ever went missing the nights you stayed over.

🧁 But, on one occasion, Pinkie seemed even more excited than usual. She was especially eager for you to try a new batch of cupcakes she had made especially for you, and how could you resist? As always, the cake base was light and fluffy and the frosting creamy and sweet, with just a hint of something else - whatever Pinkie calmed to her secret ingredient that made them so good. You were excited to have another fun night with your friend, but soon found yourself feeling… Extremely tired. Too tired to keep your eyes open, in fact. And your friend is just so sweet and doting as she leads you to bed.

🎉 You woke somewhere dark and cold. Your limbs ache and your head swims as you look around, your dizzy, blurry vision only just able to make out that they were strapped down by your sides. You squirmed and writhed but to no avail. You were stuck. Where- where were you? Where was everybody? 

"Ah! Yay! You're finally awake!" A familiar voice sang. 

And Pinkie Pie stepped into view. Your eyes bugged out as your foggy mind began to clear and process what was happening - and what she was wearing. A dress made up of different cutie marks, marks belonging to the many ponies who'd gone missing. Broken, lifeless wings sewn into the back of her dress. And a necklace of multicolored sawed-off horns that clicked together as the mare bounced in delight. This… It couldn't be true! This had to be a nightmare!

🧁 She explained that it was all her work. Everypony going missing? It was sad, yeah, but sometimes you gotta do the hard thing in order to do what's right! How else would she be able to make such crazy good cupcakes? As the pieces fall into place in your mind, Pinkie continues her explanation. Your number had finally come up - but don't worry! She loved you way too much to let you now! Pinkie had instead promised herself that when your number came up, she'd finally confess her true feelings to you and take you all for herself! Now, life could be a party forever and ever. And don't worry about anypony finding you and taking you away from her. Who'd expect an Element of Harmony and Ponyville's premier party pony to do something like this? And she'd had Sugarcube Corners basement soundproofed for a long time now, and it's not like the Cakes ever came down here. You'd be together with her forever…

Body morph/types Twilight you're average pony body, not too chubby but not too thin just the perfect pony body, They have scaring from their endeavors as a pressure of magic, most notable is the Lichtenberg-like scar that stems down from Their horn from the day they got their cutie mark. Rainbow dash, has an incredibly toned body, being part of the Wonderbolts he had to undergo vigorous training to get his body in the right shape, having major upper and lower body strengths but also keeping his body thin enough to make nimble movements and perform tricks. his scars are minor just small ones from flying accidents, he has top scars on his belly I don't care if magic exists Oddment has a bit of muscle mass but not too much, mostly from lifting heavy geodes with his magic and his hooves Oddment has a few scratches here and there but his coat is wonderfully intact, his vitiligo paired with albinism tends to go unnoticed with how pale his coat is Fluttershy is very Tall and very noodly thin, they have bat wings due to the day they turn into a fruitbat, some of the changes remained including sharp K9s and the bat wings, she also has a large claw mark scar on her shoulder from facing a manticore AppleJack is a very muscular pony she really doesn't mind her large build and she can't lose the muscles anyways because she is a workhorse, she has a few scars and stretchmarks from her muscles Pinkie pie is small and chubby with a bunch of energy, they have stretchmarks from her weight, and funny enough they have a burn scar on her lower left leg because of a misfire of a confetti canon, they weren't allowed to party for a bit. Discord tho he might look like a tube, she is actually a bit chubby, they have a large scar on his stomach from some magic during its chaotic rein. Neurodivergent (:D Projecting! TwT I need to project on my fav characters shhh) Twilight, Echolalia, and Autism, Twilight to me often have a hard time responding to people, They have a liking for routines, schedules, and major preparation to make sure things go right, and things go their way. They tend to have major meltdowns when things don't go right "Lesson Zero" being one of them. They miss social cues a lot as well. I believe they would stim while they are reading like chewing on their hooves or when they get their wings stretching and folding their wings as well as fluttering them when they are happy some vocal stims would be squeaking definitely or imitating spike's roar when he sends off a letter. Rainbow dash is def autistic and has dyslexia as well. RD can be pretty blunt and straightforward, sometimes seeming to not have a filter, he st in the Wonderbolts. after getting into reading RD has gone out and got some special glasses to help with reading. some stims involve wing flapping/buzzing, tail swishing, and bobbing his head when he is listening intently. Some vocals still are defiant "20% cooler", Chirping, as well as saying awesome and Awh yeah.

Oddment has mild OCD his workspace is organized as he likes it, and he has his own system with things. His OCD doesn't go so far that it hinders his everyday life but it is enough to cause him mild discomfort when things aren't the way they are supposed to be. Fluttershy has selective mutism, they may come off as shy but they truly are a talkative person just can't do much so they squeak and stay away from ponys since she found that most don't know ESL Equestrian sign language. Applejack has some mild anxiety, it gets so her sometimes and causes her to freeze up but it isn't too much Pinkie pie Add Majorly, and is slightly on the autism spectrum, she hyperfixates on parties and making others happy. She kinda feeds off the happiness of others to mask her own more blank and monotone expressions. Oh, she has too many stims to list "Yippie" "Party Time" are a few vocal ones, Discord has Synesthesia, which is when your sensory stems experience 2 sensory outputs, most commonly described as being able to see colors when you hear certain things. I wonder if some of the guys racism and bigotry and power obsession comes from struggles trying to achieve a possesion in power as a guy. I also wonder if fluttershy would have been bullied less for being timid if she weren't a pegasus, Stuff like the pegasus leader pre-equestria being a commander and pegasi being called 'brutes' and generally shown to be thought of as aggressive makes me wonder if perhaps stuff like being outwardly 'tough' is valued in pegasus culture, and thus being timid esspecially looked down upon. I think about spikes egg all the time: no way did celestia randomly find a dragon egg. I imagine a dragon's egg is just as if not more protected than a dragon's hoard, like... Celestia definitely did some shady stuff to get that egg I'm saying. the majority of upperclass society like those in canterlot are unicorns. What’s your opinion on the later seasons of the G4 TV show? And does it still feel like it falls under the same MLP you grew up with? I’m curious :D

This is going to be very long, so I apologize, but Tumblr allows you to auto-shorten long posts on your dash now, so here we go.

Growing up I loved G1 My Little Pony, it was my favorite toy. But I didn't watch the TV show regularly. (I did see parts of The Glass Princess and The End of Flutter Valley, which influenced my play, but they were multi-parters and I never saw the full plot.) So although I have a lot of nostalgia for G1, it's disconnected from MLP 'n Friends / MLP Tales.

Anyway, I also collect Transformers and most Transformers shows last three years or less. And watching MLP FIM I was like, "Well, now I know why."

Most stories end soon after the protagonist achieves their goal. Like the original Star Wars trilogy ends with the evil Emperor being defeated. Disney’s Cinderella ends with her marriage to the prince.

That's because the struggle is the interesting part of the story. We want the protagonist to have a happily-ever-after but we don't want to watch it play out decade after decade. Conflict drives stories.

From what I've heard, the show runners did not expect FIM to be renewed for a fourth season. So at the end of the third season, they gave Twilight Sparkle the ultimate triumphant moment and had her become an alicorn. Great!

Except. Then the series was renewed. And they had to keep going.

There are some later season episodes I really like, for example the one with the kirins. I liked Starlight Glimmer and her arc. I loved the friendship between her and Trixie.

But looking at the later seasons as a whole, they really degraded as they went along.

The writers did not know what to do with Twilight Sparkle as a princess. They tried to be meta about it, like "whoooa, SHE doesn't know what she's doing!" (And I love the "You'll Play Your Part" song, it brings a tear to my eye.) But lampshading the problem doesn't solve it.

Also, it was becoming less and less realistic for the main cast to still need lessons about basic social skills. So they brought in a pony who DID still need to learn them: Starlight Glimmer. As I've said, I liked Starlight, I thought she was a good addition.

The writers also created the cutie mark mission table, which was a fun excuse to send the cast to new locations and meet new creatures.  But for some reason they decided all the missions had to revolve around friendship. And I just . . . I don't understand why they took the name of the show so literally. Just let the friendship part be "We're the Mane Six, we're best friends" instead of "Hello griffons, we're here to teach you about friendship! You idiots." It was so weird, they felt like pony missionaries going out to proselytize to the heathens.

Why couldn't the table have just summoned them for problems like "Hey, the volcano's going to explode, find a way to stop it before it kills the endangered ferrets living in the valley below"? There are times when it's fine for problems to be purely physical. Like when you've run out of character-driven conflicts for your main cast.

As all this is happening, the rest of the Mane Six were gradually achieving their goals. Rainbow Dash joined the Wonderbolts, Rarity opened more boutiques, the CMC got their Cutie Marks. Okay, sure. The show couldn't string the ponies along forever.

But this goes back to the happy ending problem. The main conflicts / goals that had been driving the characters were getting wrapped up. So NOW what do you do with them?

Somewhere in all this the Movie happened. And I loved it. I wish they'd added Tempest Shadow to the main cast. That's all I have to say about the movie.

I have the impression the Movie toys didn't sell as well as Hasbro expected, though. I don't have any proof of this, but they seemed to reel back the toyline after it. Whatever the case, the show saw a major change with the introduction of the Student Six and the School . . . of Friendship.

Really? Really? The reason Twilight needed friendship lessons was that she was antisocial. Average ponies shouldn't need them. They should've made it a regular school instead of creating this weird implication that ponies (and other creatures) need to learn friendship in a scholastic environment. But whatever, the name of the series was Friendship Is Magic so everything had to be directly friendship-related forever I guess.

So, my feelings about the friendship school are complex. I think they were trying for a soft reboot. They knew they'd run the well dry with the Mane Six so they tried moving them to a support role. Which isn't a bad idea. Also, I always thought it would make more sense for Twilight Sparkle to become a professor rather than a princess. It fits her personality / interests. So Twilight as a teacher--yes!

But then the rest of the Mane Six also became teachers? Uh huh, I'm sure Applejack had plenty of time for that on top of running a farm full time. I wish only Twilight had been a teacher. The students could have interacted with the rest of the Mane Six after school and on weekends.

Okay, moving on to the Student Six: this is going to sound weird, but I think they would've fit G5 better than G4.

G4 was more cartoony (which I don't mean as a putdown), everything was very exaggerated. The Student Six were more nuanced. Gallus was stubborn, but he wasn't "the STUBBORN one" in the same way that Fluttershy was "the SHY one", you know what I mean? Being nuanced characters in a goofy world hampered them IMO. I never felt like I "got" them, although I did like them.

The other weird thing is they had no support from the toyline. Only two had brushables, I think. And only one brushable apiece. Meanwhile Hasbro was still shilling Pinkie Pie like their life depended on it. I would love to know what led to this situation. Maybe Hasbro had planned more Student Six toys but pulled them back because the Movie toys didn't sell well enough?

Then we get to the final season, which was just a mess. So Discord disguises himself as Grogar, purposely breaks a bunch of villains out of jail, and demands that they enact a villainous plan against the Mane Six. (And one villain is a baby pony? Why tho?) As the season progresses the writers hint that the villains (aside from Discord) are beginning to feel camaraderie for one another.

In the villains’ final appearance the Mane Six point out that they've discovered the magic of friendship--ha ha, just kidding! The Mane Six nuke them with magic, turning them into statues forever.

It's bizarre. The writers absolutely CLUNG to the idea of friendship through the whole series, we couldn't escape from it. Friendship letters, princess of friendship, friendship table, friendship school! But in the climatic moment, when the transformative power of friendship would've made narrative sense and given a satisfying ending, when it would've justified the whole premise of the show . . . the writers were like "Nah, let's just blast the bad guys and call it a day."

My guess is they wanted to "subvert expectations". God I'm so tired of that trend. If people anticipate the end of your story arc, it's because you properly set it up and foreshadowed it. The end of a story shouldn't be a jumpscare.

BTW Discord doesn't face a single consequence for encouraging a bunch of supervillains to murder his "friends", gosh no the Mane Six just can't stay mad at that scamp.

Anyway, that's how I feel about the later seasons of FIM.

Backstory:

Soul was created through unknown means. He was adopted by a pony family his mother was a unicorn, his father was an earth pony, and his older brother was a pegasi. Soul's mother helped him learn how to control his magic, and Soul became pretty good at it. Soul and his older brother would often run around and have lots of fun together. However, there was one person that Soul couldn't seem to bond with no matter how hard he tried, and that was his father. His parents would often argue about Soul being there as he was "not a pony" and also "not their foal." Eventually, his mother took the two foals and left their father. Their mother took care of the two fairly well, but eventually, as time goes on, things change, and his older brother moved out to pursue his dream of becoming either a Wonderbolt or part of the Royal Guard. Soul eventually also was enrolled into Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns. He worked hard to become a powerful unicorn despite the fact that he had no cutie mark. Soul did really well, and he eventually graduated, and he now works to create spell tomes, and he writes books. Eventually, he came to terms with himself being trans and bisexual so he came out to his mother and brother. His brother took it well. However, his mother didn't. Soul hasn't spoken to his mother since and continues to work hard.

The crash was Fumbleshy’s fault. It doesn’t matter how many times everyone else insists it wasn’t, it doesn’t matter it it was “completely unforeseeable” or “a freak accident”, it was all. Her. Fault.

If she hadn’t been such a baby, Hoops and Dumbell wouldn’t have paid her any mind, Dasher wouldn’t have felt obligated to protect her, and that stupid race would have never happened! Dasher had been cast to earth for Fumble’s shortcomings, and she couldn’t stand it. She visited her friend in the hospital, did everything she could to cheer Dasher up from the practical death sentence (“What am I without my wings? Oh god, what am I?”), she tried so, SO HARD.

Her mood would rise and fall, a d the same jokes would only work for the first five days, and so Fumble escalated it. She had a carefully orchestrated dance routine to keep her friend entertained, and it went horribly wrong. the curtains torn, dishes shattered, and a few of Fumbleshy’s bones painfully dislocated, but… Dasher was laughing, harder than she’d seen her laugh in such a long time, and that made her feel… warm.

It took a moment to realize that her flank was glowing with the magic of her cutiemark. it was a shock, really! To look back and see a set of balloons proudly displayed, and it only brought more confusion, and Dasher tearfully congratulated her.

It’s been years since that day, and Fumbleshy’s talent has made her miserable for every one of them. Fumbleshy is one of the more successful party ponies in the area, and she HATES IT! She hates being laughed at, she hates being the center of attention, she HATES being a clown! But she deserves it. Every moment of this horrible existence, she deserves. Because, Dasher Dreams would be a Wonderbolt by now if it wasn’t for her.

okay so my logic with the mane 6 ships are that

a) rarity wants to live in canterlot and marry a prince(ss)

b) fluttershy and discord are in an undisclosed type of relationship and they are happy and take care of animals from both their worlds

c) Apple Jack would stay on her family farm (love big family communities)

d) twilight sparkle, as Princess to take over for celestia, would end up in canterlot in the castle

e) pinkie pie throwing parties in canterlot

f) cheese is a traveling party pony who is also with pinkie

g) pinkie pie and twilight sparkle and rarity are in a polycule and pinkie pie is also dating cheese

h) rainbow dash would be part of wonderbolts and/or royal guard and help applejack (her partner) on the farm

I planned to submit my ideas about the mane 6, before I did any next gen bios. Oh well.

These are the designs of the mane six while the show was taking place in my next gen, so these are not their mom designs. Also many things play out different in this universe than in the show, so keep that in mind :D

First off with Rainbow Dash:

I like many others made Dash short. The shortest of the group to be exact. Someone that's so short with a Rainbow Dash level of confidence is endearing to me. Dash is second most physically fit, being in the wonderbolts and all. Kept her long hair, because she's rocking it. She has pretty big wings that help her with flight and being one of the fastest pegasi.

Fluttershy:

She is the most slender of the mane 6, but not the tallest. She's third tallest actually. Taller than Rarity but shorter than Twilight. She has very long hair, and it's all natural. Fluttershy has a little bit of a fluffy/feathery chest. Overall she is a little fluffy and cozy. I didn't end up changing much for Fluttershy, since I already really love her design.

Pinkie Pie:

Pinkie is the second shortest of the group and is also a little chubby(man, I need to get better at conveying body types). She has some dense curly parts of her coat to reflect her mane. Pinkie has some small spots scattered over parts of her body, even on her ears! Pinkie also has a little bit of fluff near her hooves.

Applejack:

She is the second tallest of the mane 6, only because one of them is an alicorn. Applejack was definitely the tallest before Twi became one. She is definitely the most strong and bulky, since she does a lot of manual labor in her day-to-day life. Applejack has a lot of freckles most noticeably on her face, shoulders and lower back. She has the same hoof design thing as her brother Big Mac, and the brown on her legs is actually the color of her coat, not dirt! I made a lot of changes to AJ, because once I filled her in with the canon colors I just thought she looked so boring. I wanted to change that so I gave her a bunch of details, and made her colors even more earthy.

Rarity:

She is about the average height of a pony mare(a little ironic, huh). Rarity has a more curved figure with small legs and thicker body. Changed up her mane quite a bit from the show. I actually spent some time drawing her mane so I knew how it worked. I wanted to do her justice. I gave her the body markings to make her look more regal, and in a blue-gray hue to go with her eyes and cutie mark.

Twilight Sparkle:

Twilight is the tallest being that she is an alicorn and thus has long legs, horn and neck. Before she ascended, Twilight was pretty uniform in her features. She was slightly shorter than Rarity, but had a longer horn. Pretty much the only design change I had for Twi is the slight tweaks I made to her mane. I think she looks very cute.

When I upload their mother design, I'll share my headcanons for their personalities and what they have accomplished. I'm not sure if their markings will all be passed down into their children. I'll have to make that decision, hmmm, but at least the very least they look nice in them! I didn't want to go too ham with the design changes for this universe, since the overall theme of it is that I've become too attached~ I plan to a different redesign of them at a later date and go crazy with it! Also I don't usually add hair shine to characters, but I wanted to add a little bit of spice, since most of them just have hair with one color. I think it looks nice though!

Pairing: Rainbow Dash x Reader

Summary: Rainbow Dash finally comes home to you after a long tour with the Wonderbolts.

Warning(s): mentions of a temporary long distance relationship

Word Count: 800+

Ever since Rainbow Dash had officially joined the Wonderbolts, she's had to go out on trips for days, sometimes weeks. This only increased when she had earned her spot as one of the best fliers, and a must-have pony at almost every single Wonderbolts show.

Of course, she wasn't one to leave you at home for months at a time. She couldn't dare do that to you. She couldn't even think of doing it to herself. Sure, the two of you tend to deliver letters to one another for longer periods, but it wasn't the same. She missed getting to stare into those pretty, round eyes and feeling the warmth of your silky pelt on hers.

Yet, despite both of your disdain for long trips, Rainbow Dash was assigned to a tour lasting two months. The two of you cared about her career, so you both had agreed upon her taking the opportunity. Though, the only thing that swayed her towards the trip was the prospect of earning enough of a pay to treat you.

The two of you bid your goodbyes, and she was off on her tour. She kept her mind focused on the task at hand, excelling more than ever during practices and performances. It was all she could do to keep her mind off of how much she missed you. Besides, she figured if she got practice over with faster, the sooner she'd get to sit down and write a letter back to you. It was much more reasonable than the times she considered flying to you and back just before a scheduled event. As much as she had confidence in her speed, she knew she'd be too tired out to truly commit herself to her work.

As her tour neared to an end, you had received the final letter. Rainbow was coming back soon.

The two of you were anxious messes. Rainbow's feathers were on the fritz as she constantly looked out the window in hopes of seeing Ponyville drastically closer than it was 30 seconds ago. A few of the Wonderbolts who had remained on the train with her had teased her at how she couldn't stay still with her hooves shuffling nearly every second of the ride.

You, on the other hoof, were pacing around just outside of your front door. You remember distinctly how Rainbow had told you in her letter, "I don't want you waiting for me at the train stop. It's gonna be chilly, and I don't need you catching a cold." You wished you didn't listen to her.

You had cleaned the house, put out lots of pillows and blankets to promote cuddles, and even baked her some treats as a snack. Yet, here you were having run out of busywork. You almost considered running off to the train station now, but you feared that if you had left, you might have just missed Rainbow who was just on her way back to the house. Then you'd be away from each other even longer than you'd have to! You simply conceded that it'd just be better if you stayed in one place.

A jingling of keys and the click of a lock made your ears perk up in the direction of the door. Your entire body followed your ears, and that’s when you caught sight of Rainbow Dash standing just outside the door. When her gaze met yours, a grin spread across her face as she dashed over to you, pulling you into a hug as she lifted you up off the ground in flight.

She twirled the two of you around, eliciting a bout of giggles from you until she let her wings stretch out for a slow descent back to the floor. "I missed ya, cutie." Rainbow sighed with content as she rested her head on top of yours. You stayed there for a moment until Rainbow backed away. “I have some gifts for you.” She walked towards the door.

You rushed over to help her with her bags, but Rainbow was quick to shoo you off. “It’s fine, cupcake. I can’t have you straining yourself.” She told you as she lifted her luggage with ease, kicking the door closed behind her with her hind leg. She set down the bags and opened up a bulging gym bag, the zipper taut as if it was just barely keeping itself together. You’ve never seen the bag before, so Rainbow must have bought a new one on the trip.

When the bag was unzipped, you gasped. Inside was a big pile of stuffed animals, some with different shirts that splayed the logos of the cities Rainbow had bought them from. She dumped the stuffed animals on the couch and beckoned you over with her wing. “Now, how about you and I get some well deserved cuddles in?”

You nodded eagerly, giving Rainbow the sign to playfully tackle you into the cushions, blankets, and stuffed animals. The two of you laughed together, happy to be in each other’s embrace all while being enveloped in what felt like heavenly clouds.
