Latest read of 2023 finished is Heat Wave, the final part of The Extraordinaries cycle by TJ Klune This whole series has been absolutely excellent, with not just brilliant queer representation throughout, but also some of the best representation of neurodiversity and ADHD that I have ever read. There was so much I recognised in the book, that I felt seen not just for one aspect of myself but for many, which is probably what got me so hooked and how I burned through the whole series so fast The only thing bad with the series to me is that I want more! Literatura: Una docena de opciones

No todo es "Heartstopper" en el mundo de la literatura LGTBQ. Hay mucho por explorar y aquí te presento una docena de libros por si alguna vez acudes a una librería y te interesa llevarte algo que satisfaga tu curiosidad. No son reseñas como las que he publicado varias veces en este blog (en un futuro más o menos cercano podrías encontrar aquí alguna sobre cualquiera estos libros), sino una apertura a nuevas posibilidades de papel. Que los disfrutes.

Carry On (2015), de Rainbow Rowell

Trata sobre: Simon Snow, quizás la peor opción para ser el Elegido en un mundo de magia, vampiros y fantasmas.

Los extraordinarios (The Extraordinaries, 2019), de TJ Klune

Trata sobre: Nick, un muchacho con AHDH (Trastorno de Déficit de Atención) y autor de populares fan-fictions, conoce a su héroe.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there! Today's #SignedBookSundays theme is Dad Appreciation, and I just had to share #TheExtraordinaries because this has one of the best father/son relationships I've ever seen in YA. Q: Who is your favorite dad in YA? I honestly had a hard time thinking of ANY at all until I read The Extraordinaries. This one comes out July 14th (thanks @librofm for the early listening copy!) and I hope you all check it out - If a story where all the main teenage characters are queer, one of them writes fanfiction about superheroes, and said superheroes are real and save the city from evil sounds good to you, well trust me when I say IT IS GOOD! This story was so much fun and my heart is so full after finishing. Nick is gay and has ADHD. I rarely see such positive parent/child relationships in YA but this one, Nicks dad wins DAD OF THE YEAR award! It’s said early on Nick lost his mom recently and Nick and his dad are trying to cope with life “after” the accident. The father/son relationship is so real and genuine. Nick’s dad talks to him about being safe when having sex, much to Nick’s horror, and other typical dad stuff and embarrasses his son. Nick’s father is very prominent in this story and their relationship is one I will always go back to when looking for good parent/child relationships in stories.
