The most fascinating thing about this whole Joe Hills sexyman campaign to me is that it's so quickly becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. Would I have picked Joe out of the lineup to win at the start? If I'm honest, probably not. But now, after all the art and the feral campaigning and the pure dash-flooding energy of the past few days? Yeah. Absolutely yeah. The event itself is moulding Joe into the pinnacle of Tumblr sexyman in the course of its own progression, and that type of meta is so hilariously in line with the Joe Energy we know and love. this truly is the Joe Hills Difference

Taehyung and jungkook's relationship is overlooked by 90% of the fandom solely because they are so controlled by the narrative of the fandom/company that they cannot quite accept that anything outside is even a remote possibility. Ive been more of a quiet observer for years now [my sister's an army since 2015] and I've seen the boys, moreover I know how marketing and kpop works. It's quite evident if u observe close enough of the pattern on how this group of seven guys who genuinely love music is marketed you would understand to what extent you're being brainwashed. Im not talking about this like a conspiracy theorist. It's quite simple and right infront of you. Yall refuse to accept it that's all.
1. There are a certain set of stories that are made to be told by them, over and over again. Even if it disturbs them or they are bored. E.g: 2018 disbandment story, vmin dumpling incident, jikook rain fight/tokyo trip, mind you there are many things that happend between people who lived together for 10+ yrs but if it cuts the flow of events you are made to believe happened you aren't gonna hear from it, ever.
2. Like stories there are dynamics that each pair is supposed to portray Taegi as annoying/annoyed duo, taejin/jikook as flirty HS boyfriends, namseok/taekook the awkward old friends and no matter how much the relationships change or evolve you won't see it cuz again, it won't FIT the narrative that has already been shown.
3. Like relationships there are characteristics that thankfully some members chose to break out of during their solo era: hoseok always being sunshine and loud ( he's quite serious and very dedicated infact ), jungkook being that muscle dude who only knows how to follow his Hyungs ( he's very independent and has a lot of targets he wants to achieve individually, he's very thoughtful and organized) and Taehyung being WEIRD and weak ( he's extremely intelligent and super strong he's strategic and disciplined)
4. This brings us to the whole Taekook narrative, the fact that they've been seen so much during solo era yet people had the audacity to still call them distant and awkward solely cuz it wasn't via company but through Taehyung's ig or jungkook mentioning him in interviews etc. I think it's needless to say they aren't comfortable being touchy and showy on camera for content, hell if they were to shoot everytime Taehyung and jungkook hangout there would he enough CONTENT till 2067. They're supportive of eo and have a very big shared friend circle, when jungkook went missing for almost 2 months we got to know Taehyung was the one he was with.
5. The thing is everyone [ including my own sister ] thinks that Taehyung is being desperate or such whenever he mentions Taehyung cuz a. Yall have actually led jokers run so fucking rampant that everytime the man mentions him actually doing something you're ready to throw him under the bus and call him a liar or such. b. Im not saying jungkook isn't close to anyone else but when he isn't working or shooting content and just wants to be himself the one you saw him most was around Taehyung and yes it matters. In the name of hating shippers yall have not only dissed the quite frankly PRIVATE bond they seem to share but went as far as dissing Taehyung himself cuz of the extreme level of manipulation yall are under.
Ik imma find armys [jikookers ]under this sooner or later calling me names but to be honest I'm sick and tired of yall dissing very real people and their very real human relationships solely based off the content yall are made to believe is 100% candid. Go touch grass, get friends, go date, don't obsess over them for a while then come back and try seeing it from a neutral perspective.

Why are you telling people to vote for the guy committing genocide :/
because voting is not an endorsement it's harm reduction.
Trump is going to be at best doing the same as Biden and likely much worse for Palestinians and all the countries suffering from American Imperialism than Biden is.
Republicans want to bring back child labor and get rid of social security, medicare, Medicaid. As someone who is surviving on Medicaid and social security I don't want those taken away. The Republican majority house already put a lot of limits on food stamps in this past term and I don't think we'll still have food stamps if we get a republican Congress and a Republican president.
They've made it pretty clear that if they get a republican Congress and a Republican president they're going to enact project 2025 and call a conference of states and try and take our rights back to the days when only wealthy white men had any rights when women and racial minorities had no rights, they want to make it illegal for LGBT+ folks to safely exist in public and get lifesaving healthcare.
In short
Do I support every single thing Biden has done as president?
No.
Do I like him?
Not particularly. But I'm still voting for him because apathy is not a choice.
Do I think that Joe Biden having another term means that we can actually make more progress for labor rights, trans healthcare, abortion access, advancement of the rights and protections for disabled people and so much more?
Yes absolutely.
Do I think that the genocide in Gaza needs to end and the United States needs to stop sending weapons to israel?
Yes, I think that un restricted flow of humanitarian aid into Palestine needs to happen, the siege needs to stop, and the country of Israel and the United States need to be held accountable at an international level. I think that the soldiers of the IDF/IOF need to be held accountable for their war crimes and pillaging that they continuously post evidence of on social medias. I'm trying to put a read more here so ce I've put a few linked articles and quotes from them.
A quote from the article below:
"While our map focuses solely on high school aged youth (age 13-17), some states, such as Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina, have considered banning care for transgender people up to 26 years of age. "
I've seen lawmakers in some states try to make it felony punishable by life in prison to get your trans child healthcare to keep them alive because they want to make it illegal for us to exist and a legal for anyone who helps us exist.
some quotes from the article above:
"Led by the long-established Heritage Foundation think tank and fueled by former Trump administration officials, the far-reaching effort is essentially a government-in-waiting for the former president’s second term — or any candidate who aligns with their ideals and can defeat President Joe Biden in 2024. With a nearly 1,000-page “Project 2025” handbook and an “army” of Americans, the idea is to have the civic infrastructure in place on Day One to commandeer, reshape and do away with what Republicans deride as the “deep state” bureaucracy, in part by firing as many as 50,000 federal workers. “We need to flood the zone with conservatives,” said Paul Dans, director of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project and a former Trump administration official who speaks with historical flourish about the undertaking. “This is a clarion call to come to Washington,” he said. “People need to lay down their tools, and step aside from their professional life and say, ‘This is my lifetime moment to serve.’” The unprecedented effort is being orchestrated with dozens of right-flank organizations, many new to Washington, and represents a changed approach from conservatives, who traditionally have sought to limit the federal government by cutting federal taxes and slashing federal spending. Instead, Trump-era conservatives want to gut the “administrative state” from within, by ousting federal employees they believe are standing in the way of the president’s agenda and replacing them with like-minded officials more eager to fulfill a new executive’s approach to governing. The goal is to avoid the pitfalls of Trump’s first years in office, when the Republican president’s team was ill-prepared, his Cabinet nominees had trouble winning Senate confirmation and policies were met with resistance — by lawmakers, government workers and even Trump’s own appointees who refused to bend or break protocol, or in some cases violate laws, to achieve his goals. While many of the Project 2025 proposals are inspired by Trump, they are being echoed by GOP rivals Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy and are gaining prominence among other Republicans. And if Trump wins a second term, the work from the Heritage coalition ensures the president will have the personnel to carry forward his unfinished White House business. “The president Day One will be a wrecking ball for the administrative state,” said Russ Vought, a former Trump administration official involved in the effort who is now president at the conservative Center for Renewing America. Much of the new president’s agenda would be accomplished by reinstating what’s called Schedule F — a Trump-era executive order that would reclassify tens of thousands of the 2 million federal employees as essentially at-will workers who could more easily be fired. Biden had rescinded the executive order upon taking office in 2021, but Trump — and other presidential hopefuls — now vow to reinstate it."
"There’s a “top to bottom overhaul” of the Department of Justice, particularly curbing its independence and ending FBI efforts to combat the spread of misinformation. It calls for stepped-up prosecution of anyone providing or distributing abortion pills by mail."
Personally I think that voting for Joe Biden is better than someone who wants to enact this stuff on day one. It's like they read handmaid's tale and want to make that the reality of this country.
"Chapter by chapter, the pages offer a how-to manual for the next president, similar to one Heritage produced 50 years ago, ahead of the Ronald Reagan administration. Authored by some of today’s most prominent thinkers in the conservative movement, it’s often sprinkled with apocalyptic language." Ronald Reagan is a big reason we have a lot of problems we have today with our economy and with a lot more things. The people that supported Ronald Reagan do not need another term in office.
A quote from the article linked below:
"Trump has given no indication that he would be more sympathetic to Palestinian claims, nor that he would place more pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire. “The approach of the United States would be that Israel needs to win this war, it was attacked brutally,” Trump’s ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, describing how Trump would act. Friedman is now a campaign surrogate for Trump."
Personally I think Trump telling Israel to finish the job is indicators that another Trump presidency doesn't mean that weapons would stop being sent to Israel from United States
I fail to see how another term of Donald trump will be any better for the victims of the ongoing genocide in Palestine than President Joe Biden.
i think our system is absolutely messed up and broken but I don't think abstaining from voting is going to actually help.

Heyyy, I recently (today) started playing Ridgeside Village and Ian has my heart😭
I saw that your requests are open and wanted to know if you'd be able write some headcanons about him having a crush on the farmer? I'm in desperate need of some fluff lmao
Thank you so much and don't forget to drink enough water and take a break every now and then, love💞
Helloooo! Thanks so much for caring ❤️ I sometimes need reminders like this to remember to rest so I don't burn out. The headcanon turned out a little longer than I planned😅 but I enjoyed writing about Ian. Thanks so much for the question and have a good day ☺️🫰
RSV Ian having a crush on the Farmer:
Ian didn't immediately realize he had a crash on the Farmer. Slowly but surely, when they came into his life more often, when Ian opened up to them about his family, when they always supported him.
Then a realization clicked in Ian's head that made him freeze in place, stopping his work, "oh, I've.... fallen in love with them..." The poor man couldn't stand knowing what to do.
Questions and doubts immediately began to swirl in his head. What if they just want to be friends? What if they already have someone and he will ruin the friendship with his desire to date? Is he even worthy of Farmer? Ugh, he need to focus on his work!
Sean will be the first to notice that Ian's behavior changes every time the Farmer comes into Odd Jobs Services for something or just to chat. After they leave, Sean notices Ian's red face and wide smile and jokingly asks, "Dude, do you have a crush on them or something?" Ian's widened eyes and even redder face gave Sean an immediate answer.
"Then ask them!", easier said than done, Sean. It's hard enough for Ian to open his mouth in front of them now, but to ask them on a date... And anyway, who'd want an uneducated clumsy person like him? He thinks he's hardly a good candidate.
But Ian's friend and colleague was of a different opinion, so Sean pestered Ian until he agreed to try his luck in love. It’s better to resolve this issue once and for all, otherwise Ian will continue to be distracted at work.
Although Ian is not used to making extra expenses, trying to save money for his sister, but he has tender and sincere feelings for Farmer, so he decided to take the best bouquet of flowers from Pierre for them. Even though the flowers cost Ian a good cash.....
Unfortunately, all of Ian's plans for the timing of when he would give the bouquet to the Farmer went awry. Because as he left Pierre's Shop, he met up straight with the Farmer! The universe had decided to play a joke on him, he swears...
He didn't have time to think of something, so he just sighed and decided to tell them everything: "Hey! I wanted to say... That you... That I... You and I, we- Well, um... *Sigh* I'm not very good with words... So, here... For you."
All nervous, all flushed... For Ian, the few seconds of silence lasted an eternity. But immediately he jumped a little on the spot when he heard the Farmer's... laughed? "........"
Of course they laughing. Surely he should have expected it.... Why did he even expect them to be interested in him? Ian looked like he was going to cry. But as soon as the Farmer stopped laughing, they pulled out of their bag.... An equally beautiful bouquet of flowers. And handed them to Ian. Wait, what?
"Sorry, it just happened to be so coincidentally funny! I wanted to tell you that I really like you, but only decided to say it today. And I decided to buy you a bouquet. Didn't know you felt the same way..." A slight blush came over Farmer's face, and Ian thought they were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He still wanted to cry, but now out of happiness.....
"I've got chocolates on sale here. Special discount for young lovers!" Pierre, go back to your shop. Don't bother Ian and Farmer, they're having a love here.

Day 68: Ancient Zora Waterworks
The sun is high before I reach the very peak of Ploymus Mountain to join Sidon below - and I suddenly see where they've put Mipha's statue. She's beautiful under the blue sky.
Tumblr media
I stay with her for a moment. Then I leap off Ploymus Mountain, and dive into the beacon of light.
Nothing happens, again.
Wasn't Sidon supposed to meet me here? I look around, treading water, and spot him on a large chunk of ruin, watching me. I sigh, and swim over to join him.
There's a strange chime in the air, and golden light. I've seen this before. I see now why I needed Sidon - this is his quest, really.
Tumblr media
Then Sidon really shows off. He swims to the beacon, and swims so fast around it that he creates a whirlpool.
Tumblr media
An entrance at the bottom, he says. NOW I can jump in.
The caverns below - the Ancient Zora Waterworks - are wet, and dark. In the centre of the space, a tall structure that looks not unlike a shrine. I wonder how to reach it.
Tumblr media
There are blocked pipes throughout this place. If I unblock them, maybe the water will carry me to the top?
I find a bubbulfrog in a side cavern. They're in every cave, even places which I wouldn't expect them to be. And yet only ever one at a time. Are they territorial? How do they come to be? Does the cave itself manifest them?
It's a tricky place to traverse - everything's so wet! It's hard to climb, and easy to slip.
The centre of the waterworks ruins turns out to be one of those green panels which reacts to Rauru's hand. A green beam punches through the water of the lake and releases a waterfall from the sky island above, its impact on the lake almost washing Sidon away.
Tumblr media
When I rejoin him at the lake, he says that to Zora a waterfall is as good as a path - so this really is a path intended for him to follow. I'm honoured to be a part of his journey, especially if it culminates as I think it will - with him becoming the Sage of Water. I can think of no better candidate.
Tumblr media
And there's that chime again. A voice, inviting us - inviting Sidon - up to the chain of sky islands above the domain. Up we go.

"Which Doraemon Movie Should I Watch First If I've Never Seen/Read Doraemon?"
In reviewing the Doraemon movies, I've gone over which ones are my favorites, but ranking a movie highly doesn't necessarily mean I'd recommend it to someone who has never seen Doraemon before. Of course, the obvious way to experience the Doraemon movies would be to watch them all in the order they were originally released in, but seeing more than 40 movies from an unfamiliar franchise is understandably a daunting commitment. One of the nice things about the Doraemon films (at least from a newcomer's perspective), however, is that they generally don't contain any plot-relevant references to the events of the other movies, so for the most part they can be viewed in any order without missing much context (with a few exceptions that I will cover shortly).
After giving it some thought, I have narrowed down my suggestions for "someone's first Doraemon film" to the following three:
Nobita and the Birth of Japan (2016): Doraemon helps Nobita and his friends run away from home to… 70,000 years ago, before humans lived in Japan. (@killdeercheer can attest to the effectiveness of this one as an intro to Doraemon!)
Tumblr media
New Nobita's Great Demon (2014): Doraemon and friends explore Central Africa and discover a secret civilization.
Tumblr media
Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 (2022): Doraemon and friends help tiny aliens overthrow a dictatorship.
Tumblr media
As it happens, all of these are recent remakes of classic Doraemon movies, so they're based directly on stories written by the original manga author, but have a more "modern" art style and often flesh out certain aspects of the plot. That wasn't something I had in mind while coming up with this list, but in a way, it makes sense: I think these movies combine the strengths of both the current and classic Doraemon series.
My main reasons for recommending these three:
I expect their storylines to be of relatively broad appeal without requiring much prior knowledge.
They're a good showcase of the main characters and their dynamics.
They offer a good sense of what to expect from most Doraemon movies (i.e., they don't deviate much from the usual formula).
I personally find them enjoyable (obviously).
I think any of the three would also be solid choices for one's second (or third) Doraemon movie, but some other candidates I'd pick for those roles include:
Nobita and the Legend of the Sun King (2000): Doraemon helps Nobita switch lives with a prince from a Maya-esque civilization.
Nobita and the Windmasters (2003): Nobita keeps a small typhoon as a pet, leading Doraemon and friends to discover its connection to a hidden village.
Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration (2019): Doraemon helps Nobita make an alternate reality where rabbits live on the moon.
For those who have gained some familiarity with the franchise, my top recommendations would be:
Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld (1984): Doraemon helps Nobita create a world where magic exists, which results in them having to fight literal demons.
Nobita and the Steel Troops (1986): Doraemon and friends defend humanity from an army of alien robots.
Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds (1992): Doraemon and friends build a kingdom in the clouds, only to find an actual civilization hidden in the clouds. (This is an unusual one in that it references events from the regular Doraemon series, but I think enough context is provided that one can still appreciate it without having read the relevant manga or TV episodes.)
There are a few movies that I suggest a first-time viewer avoid. As previously mentioned, some movies do contain explicit continuity references to older films:
It's best to watch Nobita and the Galaxy Super-express (1996) before Nobita and the Spiral City (1997).
It's best to watch Nobita's Dinosaur (either the 1980 or 2006 version is fine) before Nobita's New Dinosaur (2020).
It's best to watch Stand by Me Doraemon (2014) before Stand by Me Doraemon 2 (2020). (I suppose that one's obvious.)
A couple of movies I don't recommend because I honestly think they're terrible and not worth anyone's time. I'd only suggest watching these two if one either is a completionist who wants to see all the Doraemon films or really enjoys riffing on bad movies:
Nobita's Great Battle of the Mermaid King (2010)
Nobita and the Island of Miracles (2012)
Last but not least, though I've seen other fans suggest otherwise, I very much do not recommend Stand by Me Doraemon (2014) as an entry point into the franchise. Regardless of my personal opinions on its quality, I maintain that its primary target audience is viewers who are nostalgic for Doraemon and the specific manga chapters it adapts. It certainly does not provide one with a good idea of what the other movies are like.
If anyone does end up taking these suggestions, I'd be interested in hearing whether or not they hit the mark! I'd also be interested in hearing from other fans which movies they'd recommend to someone unfamiliar with Doraemon.

hi! I hope you’re doing ok! I’ve never written an ask before so I have no idea how to do this, but you’re one of the only people I follow who is posting about Palestine, so I wanted to ask. And as a brown person I’m really worried rn.
Elections are next year and I’ve seen so many saying that people should vote for Biden because he’s at least better than Trump which is… I don’t know what to say, but it’s completely absurd. This is going to be my first time voting and all I get from people is the same “lesser of two evils” rhetoric. It’s genuinely disheartening to see that these are the only options that are shown to people. I was wondering about what you think of what’s happening, and whether voting third party seems possible
I’m sorry if this was rude to ask you, but thanks for taking the time to read this!
It's not rude, I'm glad I made you feel safe enough to ask this!
I only have one answer for you: Do not let anyone tell you who to vote for or make you feel like an evil person if you choose not to vote for the person they want you to.
Vote, definitely vote!!! Especially in local elections, those are the best ways to get people you want in power and they are in charge of a lot of important changes.
As for the presidential elections, I've had so many people I thought I admired or at least felt comfortable around attack me for my choice not to vote for Biden. I've had people claim I was spreading "pro-Trump propaganda" (which is just ridiculously bad faith in all ways), tell me that I—a queer POC—am anti-LGBTQ, and tell me I'll be deported.
They do this all while ignoring and invalidating the very real anger and hurt the Muslim and Brown populations of the US are dealing with, all because their comfort is being threatened. And instead of pressuring the party that's doing that harm and try to listen to why we feel so betrayed by Biden, they double down and attack us. In fact, they are showing their true colors. They, like Biden, only ever pretended to care about us. So I am going to vote for people who actually do care about me, even if they say I'm going to "waste my vote"
Here's the thing; as long as you vote for who you feel the most supported by, as long as you go into that voting booth and step out feeling good about your vote, then you are not wasting it.
Putting this under a read more cause it's getting long
Personally, I'm voting third party. I've had my eye on the Socialist Party but am also keeping an eye out for the others and whether or not they stand out to me
At this point, unless the DNC decides to put another candidate forward, which they most definitely won't, the Democratic party has lost me forever. I'm lucky that my Dem representative has at least shown they're on the right side of history, but I don't think I will ever vote for the Dem party again. I've forced myself to do it for the last decade and I've been disappointed or betrayed every time, so no more.
I agree this two party system is a joke and we are all being made to be a part of it when no other democratic nation has something like this. Even other countries say our "progressive" party is just centrist. And that just doesn't reflect my values.
Liberals and "vote blue no matter who" are going to tell you that you're wasting your vote by voting third party, but in actuality they are the ones supporting a flawed system that only benefits itself, not the people. The more people who vote third party, the more the dems will be pressured to put forth progressive candidates like AOC or Rashida who are actually on the left. By voting third party, you are saying you won't stand by a broken system any longer
does this mean Republicans might win and we get another trump administration? Yes, probably, but here's the thing: when you look at the last 3 years, and I mean really look at it, have things improved all that much under biden? I, as a queer poc can't say that it has. Both are evil, one just pretends not to be. At this point I see no difference between Trump and Biden. Both don't give a shit about me.
The lesser of 2 evils is still evil, why vote for them? Why would I vote for either of them?
Why would I reward anyone who support genocide and cheers for it? Both Trump and Biden openly do. Their only difference is Biden is a better actor.
If my people were the ones being slaughtered (and they were. For a long long time they were), would I be okay with sitting back and letting these parties walk all over me? No, I don't think I would be.
The fact of the matter is that change does not come fast or easy. These things take time and pressure and a refusal to give in. Voting for Biden after all the horrible things he's done the past couple years is just rewarding a system that is fundamentally broken. You can keep trying to chug along on a broken wheel hurtling you towards doom, or you can take the time to force it to change.
I do believe the younger vote has a big chance to change things, to pressure our government to actually support its people, not just the white ones with money.
Ultimately you get to decide who to vote for. Use your right to vote, don't ignore it and don't waste it by voting for someone you don't actually believe in.

So KH III said there are 7 new lights (well really 6 since Kairi is still a princess of heart) and while I'm not sure what happened to the original 6 the power has apparently passed on. So far we have Rapunzel, Elsa, and Anna and it makes sense they're 3 of the most recent and have been super popular over the years and yeah Rapunzel not being pure light with her story? Laughable.
That being said I'm hoping we see more expansion of the 7 princesses of heart and I have some guesses as to who the final 3 might be.
Merida, I feel pretty safe in saying she's a candidate since the term pure light may not have to be like innocence but pure conviction. And Merida is nothing if not steadfast in determination. She'd also be one of the more proactive POH
Moana, she's also pretty recent and her story would not only make a great world but she would make a great pure light. Chosen by the ocean, compassionate and already trying to save her world her heart just so happens to help maintain the balance of all worlds and she doesn't know it? Queen shit.
Finally this one is less likely but imma throw it in anyway and say Mirabel. She's the newest and like Alice not an official princess or in the disney princess lineup. But a repeating theme with all these girls is their dedication to their family's and homes that make them "pure" and counting Kairi this would make of the poh woc which is a plus.
I also realized the last 3 all start with m which is funny but those are my predictions. I wanna see Kairi actually interact with her fellow princesses of heart come on Nomura give it to me!
I think a funny thing they could do would be to include Raya from Raya and The Last Dragon because -while I've never seen the movie myself- I'm pretty sure the place she's the princess of/ the kingdom she was from is literally called "Heart". So she's literally a princess of heart.
Anyway, yeah I agree with those being likely candidates. I'd honestly be surprised if there was no Encanto considering how popular it was when it released. They got Frozen in kh3, I don't see why Encanto wouldn't be put into kh4 for the same reasons lol.

spoilers present!!
My first time reading the light novel series, Ascendance of a Bookworm had only 20 English translated volumes available then and I opted to read the rest through the web novel by MTL along with the short stories and Hannelore's 5th Year.
I reread my favorite volumes after as I can't get over it and Hannelore's 5th Year hasn't concluded yet. The last I remember about it is Dregarnuhr and the gazebo proposal. I feel bad for Hannelore😭.
My obsession with it hasn't ended there though. I still reread it from time to time. Recently, I rewatched the anime and reread the translated LNs available from Part 1 to Part 5. It feels like dejavu sometimes as I feel like it's something I've seen myself do it in the past already—which I of course, did. It still made me cry a lot and it's still as enjoyable to read as ever. I'll probably reread it again when the English-translated LN Part 5 volumes 8 to 12 will be available.
I ain't really a fan of reading LN as they're more expensive than English novels and has more volumes than I could count but I'm glad I've chosen to read Honzuki. In fact, I want to read more and see what happens after Alexandria is established as a duchy and see who ends up with Hannelore and Charlotte.
Hannelore and Wilfried would have made a cute sincere pair. Ngl, when Hannelore accepted Wilfried's hand during that intrusion in the ditter game, I really rooted for Hannelore's liking for him but I Hannelore deserves better. I know Wilfried tied him to his circumstances and the people around him (his retainers) doesn't help either but I can't believe he's still so naive until now. How can he reject my favorite character Hannelore twice? I'm not sure if it's only my imagination or my poor memory but is it because he likes Brunhilde? I'm not sure if that's a fact and it's been so long since I've read the WN and rereading the LN didn't really mention anything about that. Must have just been my imagination and different comprehension before or because of MTL. I can't think of any good pair for Hannelore tbh. I only like her with Wilfried because she likes (liked?) him. Kenntrips is nice but I still can't swallow the fact that they're cousins and that such stuff is commonplace in Yurgenschmidt. On the other hand, I don't really have much of an impression on Ortwin except that he's smart and plays Wilfried like a harspiel which is not a good impression either. Hannelore's ideal guy is someone opposite of Lestilaut and she seems to like sincere guys that will do everything to get the love of their life (the Sylvester kind, not the Anastasius kind- I believe there's a distinction between the two). Wilfried has the sincerity I think... but he's still immature and frustratingly naive. With that said, I really can't think of anyone to root for for Hannelore's partner. I'm not comfortable with yuri but the only person I can trust Hannelore with are Rozemyne and Charlotte. There's not many archduke candidates we know of and I believe the only one left is Melchoir but he's much too young and if I remember correctly, he'll only be a first year at Hannelore's last year. I can't root for either Kenntrips nor Ortwin 100% but they have the best chances. And I'd rather root for the former than the latter despite them being cousins only for the fact that Kenntrips seems to understand Hannelore in some way. In any case, I will make a note for the future me to read the LN if ever Hannelore's story be made into one.
In Charlotte's case, I envy her mental and emotional strength. Given that she aspires to be an Aub though, I wonder if she will take interest in genwinnen and perhaps a bit of ditter as unlike Rozemyne and Hannelore, she doesn't have much experience in battle and strategy yet. In any case, I also wonder who's gonna be her partner. No one really comes to mind.
I'm just glad that Ehrenfest has Charlotte and Melchoir as archduke candidates. With them, I think Ehrenfest will be fine. Considering the law that grooms and brides be only married into Ehrenfest and not the other way around for 5 years, Charlotte may be able to stay there if she finds someone that'll support her as an Archduchess when she graduates.
Melchoir has a great sense of responsibility and seems to be more mature than Rozemyne. He has the potential to become Aub but I see him more as a support role like Bonifatius. I hope he takes the good points of his brother and sisters and grow up suited to be an Archduke.

Is Ashe going to join Talon?
Short answer? No, she isn't.
Long answer?
Ashe is a character I've seen people talk about joining Talon, and yeah on the surface that seems likely. I honestly think that Ashe would be a likely candidate for joining Talon if it wasn't for one detail.
Talon's whole goal is to instigate a new Omnic Crisis, something that 4/5 of the founders of Deadlock (and most likely a lot of the general members) were effected negatively by the crisis. even if Ashe doesn't get along with two of the original founders she still understands the damage that the Crisis caused.
Another reason is that people are misunderstanding her character as "money hungry", which she isn't.
She's good at business, sure, but it's shown both in present day and in the Deadlock Rebels Novel, that she will prioritize the people she cares about over money and since it's also hinted in the book that BOB has PTSD from the Crisis, I doubt she would willingly side with the people who are making the people she cares about most relive they're darkest years.
Now, do I think she's going to join Overwatch?
The only way I see this happening is if the entirety of Deadlock is taken out, which is unlikely. Otherwise I do see Deadlock as a whole working along side Overwatch for a short period of time, mostly to take out Null Sector.
In conclusion, if given a choice between Talon or Overwatch, Ashe is going to choose Overwatch.

I know you don’t write much for Four, but how do you answer the question of “Why the fuck did D4 send a 14 year old boy to the murder competition” in your canon? I generally headcanon the Capitol picks from Career candidates each year and the trainers more or less have to let them take whoever they want for fear of retaliation, but in your D2 universe, the mentors and Centre seem to be left to their own devices unless the Capitol specifically wants to intervene. So I was wondering what you think happened behind the scenes with Finnick. (PS: I am Bad At Tone but to be clear I love your work and I love seeing how other people interpret the Careers! I hope it doesn't come across like I'm trying to poke holes in your universe, I actually think your D2 world is very clever and fascinating and definitely the most developed I've seen in the fandom)
even in my universe D2 is not the other Career districts, that's kind of the point -- when they DO meddle and demand a specific volunteer (like Cato & Clove) it's rare enough to make people uncomfortable. meanwhile I think in D1 it's much more common for the top pick to be approved in advance
D4 I have it be more loose, if someone from the after-school athletics club who's also in the 17/18 range gets reaped, then they're good to go in, but if it's someone younger or someone unprepared, then they have a stand-in volunteer ready (which was Dash, in my universe, but an older kid was reaped so he didn't have to)
how Finnick happened is up for interpretation; I've never settled on a 'definitive' answer and I'm happy to let the fic I read take it in whichever direction they like. whether he caught the eye of the Capitol and banned volunteering for the year, or he was young and confident and volunteered ahead of the designated person (and unlike D2 that's not a huge deal worthy of punishment, more ... oh kid why'd you do that), either of those work for me! the only one that never really sells me is the theory Mags picked him to volunteer on purpose, of her own volition. that one, ehhhh
for me backstory is more .... exploration potential? rather than locking down One True Way it happened. I've written the same character's backstory multiple ways for different fic depending on theme, haha

WHY GREGORY CAN'T BE PATIENT 46
In the last few months, I've seen lots of theories about patient 46 and what's clear is that no one really know who it is, but a big part of the fandom think that Gregory is a good candidate which... I have some thoughts about it.
Additional note: GGY is probably canon and that means that maybe Gregory IS patient 46, but honestly the only way for this to work its of Gregory is possesed and has no memory of what's going so. So, this theory still applies, because Gregory, as we know him in Security Breach, can't be patient 46.
I thinks there's lots of in game evidence which contradict this conclusion, so here's why:
Patient 46 and Gregory have complete different personalities. Patient 46 doesn't talk a lot, and when they do it or talk about themselves its described as objective, like they're telling things that didn't happen to them. They have fun when they know that the animatronics are acting weird, they don't like to go outside, they don't like the light, and they like masks. Now, you have Gregory: he talks a lot, he's sarcastic and makes jokes, he says "lame" when he got something of mr. hippo, he cleary doesn't like how the animatronics are acting, and he shows lots of emotion during the game, from fear in some moments to sadness when freddy dies at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to this: Gregory spents half of the game using a camara that can blind animatronics because of the flash, but he doesn't have problems with the light, wants to get out of the pizzeria, and he's also worried about the dissapearence that took place in the complex, which doesn't make sense if he was patient 46.
2. "Gregory is violent, and Patient 46 killed the therapist, so that's a link!" -> Actually, no. I think Gregory is a gremlin, but I don't think that his violent acts are unjustified. The kid spent hours inside the pizzeria with robots that are 1) Bigger than him 2) Stronger than him and 3) Are trying to kill him. His acts are more in self - defense that anything. There's a diference between destroying animatronics that are trying to kill you and killing your therapist because she's about to uncover something.
And yes, Gregory also kills Vanny in one of the endings, but again: Vanny was about to kill him.
3. Patient 46 is a hacker, but Gregory isn't. This was one of the things that made me be sure about this theory. Gregory is good with videogames (if the GGY that are in the arcades are him), he knows about animatronics and how things work, but that's the thing: he knows about mechanics, not about programming. He may know some things about technology, but programming is a whole different story. A mechanic or mechanical engineer will know some things about programming for their projects, but usually it has nothing to do with creating a virus or hacking a whole company. They just, can't do that. So, Gregory is a mechanic, Patient 46 a hacker.
In some parts of the game, Gregory has acces to computers, he could have made things easier for him, he could even acces the security protocols or open the doors, but he didn't.
4. Patient 46 is a manipulator, and the game makes you believe that they're the one manipulating Vanessa: they go to the same therapist, they had met Vanny and knows the technics of the pizzaplex. Gregory, on the other hand, is afraid of Vanny, runs away from Vanessa and also he didn't know the identity behind the mask. But Gregory looks surprised in the fire ending, and he also tries to save Vannesa in the Vanny good ending, which wouldn't make sense if he was the hacker:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If he was the one manipulating her, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do that or hide everytime he sees her. Yes, Gregory lied to Freddy about the stolen parts and about his friends, but I don't think that was he trying to manipulate Freddy, and just a kid having like, the worst night of his fucking life and doesn't want to make his new robot dad and only ally sad or mad at him.
5. Who would bring Gregory to the therapist? Like, that's an important fact. Sure, maybe he could go by himself, but if he is in the United States, doesn't therapist charge like, a lot? How is Gregory going to pay it? Also, he's a kid, the therapist has to talk first with his parents or legal guardian, they can't just accept a random kid. Patient 46 has, or at least had, parents. That's stated by the therapist, but she obviously didn't know them. So, who is bringing patien 46 to therapy? And who's paying for it? Gregory, at least from what you see, doesn't have parents, but also I don't think a 12 year old could afford therapy.
I think that patient 46 had parents, but there was some type of tragedy. Now, he's in someone else custody, and whoever this person is, is the one paying for the therapy. Maybe to control de therapist, to have Vanessa under vigilance, I don't know, but there has to be someone behind it, a kid can't just do that (I'm not from the United States, so if there's someone who has better knowledge about how therapy works there, please tell me if I'm wrong).
Gregory, on the other hand, is more of a mistery. We see that he's homeless, or at least doesn't have a place he wants to go back to.
Things they have in common are:
·They like candy -> Lots of kids do.
·They have a rebel side -> But they show it differently, and Gregory has reasons for the things he do.
·We don't know a lot about their past.
In conclusion, for Gregory and Patient 46 to be the same person we have to assume that Gregory had been lying and pretending during the events of all Security Breach, even during moments when he didn't have to.
And let me tell you, if he really spents all the game acting, he deserves an Oscar, at least. But other than that, the motivations, personalities and abilities of both characters doesn't match each other.
You could also say that Gregory is a robot and his memory was messed with by someone, but robot Gregory is a theory for another day and I prefer to believe the little evidence the canon gives us instead of creating theories that gives us an explation at the expenses of what we see in the games. Maybe we shouldn't know who patient 46 is for now, or maybe we didn't conect the pieces together, but I'm pretty sure that Gregory isn't the one behind those tapes, and I needed to explain why.
Thank you if you read this theory, and I hope you have a good day!

8th Anniversary!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it's still going on! I'm still writing it!!! With every passing year, I am rather glad (and surprised by myself) that I am still writing it and that I still love to write Watchdog of the Queen. At the same time, I cannot help but think/compare how much time has passed vs how much progress I've made with this story so far orz but I keep going, even if slowly, so that's something at least! And thank you so much for (still) reading this fanfic, even if updates are slow. Sorry for that!
No new update today. However, when I started writing WotQ, I was a teen with time/energy and far too many (often dumb) ideas. For many, I wrote the first chapter or the first few chapters and then shelved them, never to see the light of day - until today! If anyone's interested in some old, terrible Cloudia/Undertaker fic starters, they're under the cut. (They are posted as I left them.)
------------------------------------------------------------
The Princess
I am a fan of The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I reread The Heir and The Crown earlier this year and I loved them more than when I initially read them. Obviously, I had to think of a spoof of it. Cloudia having her own Selection, with Cedric (and Milton and Kamden (rip) and some others; this was an AU of WotQ, not just another Cloudia/Undertaker fanfic...) amongst the candidates. The notes file was last edited in 2016; the first chapter below in 2017. Very obviously based on The Heir. Just worse. (Why tf didn't I even change the kingdom's name??? I even made a cover edit, rip)
Tumblr media
The kingdom of Illéa had been reigned by born kings for a long time now. No matter if there was a girl born before a boy, the boy would become crown prince upon his birth and thus obtain the privilege to someday become king.
However, sometimes times changed.
The current king, King Simon, was an only child who had married a woman who had given birth to an only child too ‒ me, Princess Cloudia. And despite their efforts, I had always stayed an only child. Therefore, I couldn’t be overruled by a younger brother, and thus it was me who was to be the ruler someday.
Me, Princess Cloudia, the first queen to hold the title on her own.
The fact that after all these years a girl would ascend the throne wasn’t very pleasant for the Royal advisers. After all, such a case had never happened before. But knowing that they couldn’t change this fact even though they badly wanted to, they did their best to convince my father, the King, that I needed intense training ‒ an even more intense training than the one he had received as a young prince. Wanting to support my talents and making it able for me to be the best I would ever be, Father had agreed. And from that day on, I was tormented by the adviser’s ridiculous lessons and teachings.
Fearing that I could fail to be queen, they let me undergo a dreadful training. However, they had never imagined that I would learn so fast and surpass my teachers in a very short time.
I was Princess Cloudia Phantomhive, the genius, the prodigy. No one was as powerful as I was.
***
I was peacefully reading in the small forest in the Palace’s garden when Lisa Greene, my maid, approached me, and for some reason I had the fear that something incredibly bad would happen today.
“Princess Cloudia,” Lisa said after she had curtsied in front of me. “Your parents, the King and the Queen, want to speak to you in private.”
***
When I entered my father’s office, I knew that something was entirely wrong. Still, I sat down at the table and remained calm.
“Cloudia, how are you? We haven’t seen you since breakfast,” King Simon asked. Unlike his daughter and wife, Simon stood beside the window.
“I am fine. Also because you would have never summoned me here just to ask me how I was doing, I guess this is just something for you to avoid the topic you actually want to speak of.” Cloudia leaned back, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Don’t beat around the bush, Father, and tell me straightaway why I’m here.”
Simon sighed. “It is your fault, Penny, that she is such a bold girl,” he mumbled to his wife.
“Well, you could have chosen one of the other thirty-four Selected girls, Simon,” Queen Penelope replied with a soft smile on her lips.
Simon walked away from the window and positioned himself behind his wife’s chair, grabbing the backrest. “Thanks, Penny. These were exactly the right words.”
Cloudia frowned. “What are you talking about, Father?”
The King swallowed. He looked uneasy. “Well, Cloudie... as you know, the situation between us and the British Empire has sharpened lately. We are still trying to negotiate with them as best as we can, but if we do not manage to defuse the situation...” He swallowed again. “Our country’s people are feeling uneasy, suspecting that something is wrong. But we cannot allow them to know about our current situation ‒ it would just cause a huge panic all over the country. However, with our people feeling uneasy and suspicious, we cannot properly negotiate with the British Empire, and thus we cannot defuse the situation.”
“I know about our relation with the British Empire,” Cloudia said. “And I know about our people being uneasy, but why did you summoned me here? Just to tell me something I have already known?”
Penelope and Simon exchanged a look.
“Well, Cloudia...” Simon started again, his voice a little bit shaky. “You know how your mother and I met, and you know that holding a Selection for the future sovereign to find their consort is a tradition in this country...”
Cloudia’s eyes widened in the moment she understood why she was here.
No.
“No,” she said aloud. “No, no, no! I am not going to have a Selection! And definitely not because we have to distract our people somehow so that we can calmly negotiate with the British Empire!”
“Cloudie, dear, just listen...”
“No!” Cloudia raised up from her chair. “You cannot do that to me!”
“Sooner or later you would have to hold a Selection anyway,” Penelope stated. “Just because you are going to be the first Royal-born queen of this country does not mean that you can skip this country’s traditions.”
Cloudia clenched her fists. “I know that, Mother. But I am not ready to marry now. I am just sixteen. I cannot do that now.”
“But you do not have to marry straightaway after the end of the Selection, Cloudia. We would wait until you’re older.”
“But I also don’t want to settle on some stranger now! And what if... what if I just don’t find anyone suitable among these boys? Do I have to bound myself to someone I despise to all eternity?”
“There will be thirty-five boys, Cloudia. The Selection has worked so many times now ‒ why shouldn’t it work on you?”
Cloudia crossed her arms in front of her chest again. “Just because you two are basically a fairy tale doesn’t mean that I will find myself in one too.”
“And what about the kings and queens before us? They all fell in love during a Selection.”
“And what if they actually didn’t? What if they had to marry someone just because they were obliged to pick anyone at the end of the Selection, even though they didn’t like any of them? What if all we know about the previous Selections is a lie?”
“Now you are being ridiculous,” Penelope pointed out.
“I am not being ridiculous. I am being rational.”
The Queen leaned forward, narrowing her eyes. “Cloudia. We had planned to hold your Selection after you turned eighteen, but think about our situation... If we don’t distract our people and they find out about our unfortunate situation, we wouldn’t have to deal with problems outside of our borders, but also inside them. It wouldn’t benefit our negotiations.” Her gaze softened. “Please, Cloudie, we wouldn’t hold your Selection so early if we had the option to avoid it. During a Selection, the mood of our country’s people was always at its best ‒ like when you were born or your father and I were married. And we need something now which can lift their mood, Cloudie. There just isn’t something more effective than a Selection.”
Cloudia sighed.
Being a princess, especially one who was also the heir, was sometimes quite annoying.
“Very well... but I will only do it under two conditions: One, I want the Selected to be able to leave on their own accord. Two, if I simply cannot find anyone suitable during my Selection, I want to have the freedom to end it without me becoming engaged to someone.”
Penelope chuckled. “No, we cannot allow your second condition. You would eliminate all of the boys on the very first day if we did.”
“And what if I promise to let the Selection run for at least three to four months?”
Penelope exchanged a look with Simon who had started to look awfully uneasy and had not said anything for a while now. “Very well,” he silently said in the end. “We will do it like you have suggested it. We will announce your Selection during the next Report.”

The Amazing Grim Reaper
... A uhm, recap series for between the arcs, with fourth-wall-breaking commentary from Cedric and Cloudia. I wrote three chapters for that and started the fourth and fifth. I thought of "alternate chapter titles" and even made edits of the chapter covers. The recaps were meant to be drawn, I think, and that's what (thankfully!!) doomed them. They were all last edited in 2016, and below is the first chapter. Yikes.
Tumblr media
Cloudia: I did not seduce anyone!
Cedric: *laughs* Of course you did, Countess! Shall I remind you what you said to our all-time favourite Lord Parrish? *imitating Cloudia´s voice* “You´re not that bad yourself, Lord. Your footwork is exquisite.”
Cloudia: *scowls at him* I guess that you need better glasses as you have obviously over-read this: “I wasn´t lying ‒ I found his footwork was as exquisite as the appetizers given out at this party.”
Cedric: I don´t understand how this should help you. After all, this sentence only strengthens the fact that you fell head over heels in love with Parrish and tried to seduce him. You are comparing him to food after all! Exquisite food!
Cloudia: I was not done! “I wasn´t lying ‒ I found his footwork was as exquisite as the appetizers given out at this party. Fairly, the man who dared to call himself a cook and prepared these abnormalities should be hanged immediately. I had to speak with the host, Baron Charles Worthington, about this when everything was over.” That´s the whole passage! I compared Parrish´s footwork to terrible food! How can that be evidence that I was in love with him?
Cedric: You´re a strange person, Countess. Perhaps this was the nicest comparison someone like you could think of. Also, Parrish could be a masochist or something in that direction and thus actually like being compared to terrible food.
Cloudia: Why am I even talking to you?
Cedric: *ignores her* Besides, I have more evidence that you were seducing him, Countess! Listen: “However, I have to admit that I haven´t danced for quite a while now, and I´m totally exhausted and heated up due to this instance. May you accompany me outside to get some fresh air?” Am I right in my assumption that you have said these exact words in January 1847, Countess Cloudia Phantomhive?
Cloudia: What exactly is so seducing about these words?
Cedric: Answer my question, defendant!
Cloudia: First, I am not a defendant. Second, now answer mine or you will never get any of Armstrong´s sweets again.
Cedric: That´s just cruel. Also, it´s seducing because you were saying that that you were “heated up” and wanted to go outside with Parrish. Alone.
Cloudia: Have passage like “We walked down the street, and I listened to his boring chatter. He was speaking of his company all the time. But I had to play my role, so I stayed polite, smiled and laughed at the right times, even though I was scowling inside.” or “She met his eyes, while her face showed clear disgust.” become totally irrelevant now?
Cedric: Yes.
Cloudia: ... You´re not supposed to answer it.
Cedric: But I did because “yes” is the one and only correct answer to this question. Besides, you´re forgetting this: “Lord Ronan Parrish was the reason why I had come to this boring, dull party all the way from my comfortable, quiet and orderly mansion in the countryside.” I guess this case is closed now.
Cloudia: ... Parrish was the reason why I went there because I was ordered by the Queen to exterminate him!
Cedric: You mean she ordered you “to find and marry him”? You know how much of a shipper the Queen is. After all, she sent us both to Wales once. Also, I said that this case is closed, Countess. I, Judge Cedric Kristopher Rossdale, name defendant Countess Cloudia Phantomhive to be-
Cloudia: Objection! I stabbed Parrish! I murdered him! If I had been in love with him, why would I have stabbed him?
Cedric: Because you were so disgusted with the thought that someone was able to touch the softest part of your little dark heart that you killed him.
Cloudia: I can see why the other Reapers don´t like you.
Cedric: Once again: I, Judge Cedric Kristopher Rossdale, name defendant Countess Cloudia Phantomhive to be... guilty!
Cloudia: *sigh* Also, I don´t think that you can call Ronan Parrish a “poor man.” He maltreated children and let them die in his factories like they´re nothing.
Cedric: I know but what if even though he hated children, he loved animals and was one of the main donators for a little zoo which has to close now?
Cloudia: I don´t even know if you´re serious or not.
Cedric: He could have been a very nice person apart from this thing. But we will never know because you have erased him from earth!
Cloudia: *rolls her eyes* You´re being ridiculous, Undertaker.
Cedric: I am not! You´re just being insensitive! Ronan Parrish could have been the nicest guy on the entire planet ‒ who just happened to like mistreating children.
Cloudia: You really want to die, don´t you?
Cedric: I mean ‒ what if he had been framed? What if he knew nothing of these kids?
Cloudia: I checked all the evidence to make sure that it was really Parrish who was behind everything ‒ and he was. Now, leave me alone. *turns to the audience* I will break this off before Undertaker can continue behaving like a moron. *Cedric yells something in the back* I apologise for his behaviour. Apparently, his mother dropped him as a baby and thus his brain is a bit damaged. Let´s just hope that the (irresponsible) writer does not let him take over the story again.

Ciel timeline chapters
This side fic (!) to WotQ had an actual title, but I'm holding on to it for now because maybe, maybe, really very maybe, I will revive this project. Not as extensively as I had planned initially, just something small and short (and this time, I would mean it!!). But that would only be for the far future. Until then, here's the first chapter from 2017. (I only wrote that, a bit of the 2nd, and a few snippets...)
Chapter One: The Gallery of the Dead
“There, Phantoms were trapped in drawings.”
INTO THE ABYSS ARC
Countryside, England, United Kingdom ‒ October 1889
It was awfully silent when Sieglinde Sullivan woke up. The darkness of the sky, when she glimpsed out of the window by her bed, told her that it was still night and day was not about to come in the next couple of hours.
Sighing, Sieglinde let herself fall back into her bed and hugged her blanket. She closed her eyes, but when sleep would not come, she turned and turned around in her bed, trying to find a position comfortable enough that she would fall asleep again, and ultimately kicking her blanket down. Accepting that she was unable to go back to sleep right now, Sieglinde grabbed her crutches and left her bedroom to take a walk in the spacious Phantomhive Manor.
During the day, the manor was filled with all kinds of noise: explosions coming from the kitchen, screaming, Ciel´s annoyed sighs, the sound of porcelain breaking, crying, Tanaka’s “Ho ho,” the sound of people hysterically running back and forth. During the day, Phantomhive Manor gleamed with life, but right now, the manor seemed to have died. The clattering of Sieglinde’s crutches pierced through this eerie silence.
It was hard to explore Phantomhive Manor during the day as someone would always bother you with something or as something would always come up which would distract you from your actual plans. But now, Sieglinde was able to enter rooms she had never seen before, and walk through corridors she had not known before. And, eventually, she entered one of the oddest rooms of all Phantomhive Manor.
The Gallery was located in the back area of the manor, an area nobody usually entered. But despite no light except the moonlight illuminating the room, Sieglinde was already captivated by the Gallery’s beauty: Chandeliers, more beautiful, more delicate and elegant than the chandeliers in the other rooms, hung from the ceiling. The ground was pitch black but the places which were touched by the light glittered, indicating that there was more to the blackness than initially thought. The faint white patterns on the pale golden walls shimmered silvery in the moonlight – and so did the hair of the boy standing all alone in this room.
Ciel Phantomhive seemed like a ghost in the way he stood unmoving in front of one of the many drawings – surreal and out of place –, and Sieglinde almost believed that she had simply imagined his presence, but when she closed and opened her eyes again, Ciel was still there.
Slowly, Sieglinde moved towards him, the sound of her crutches tearing at her ears. And while she walked, she glimpsed at some of the drawings – all of them bearing the sad, serious faces of people long dead and long forgotten.
When she reached Ciel´s side, she waited for him to move, to turn his face to her and say something, but when Ciel kept staring at the drawing in front of him like he was under a spell, Sieglinde positioned herself right next to him and did so as well.
The drawing showed three people: two men, and one woman. The woman was sitting on a chair which looked so regal that it could almost be called a throne, and the two men stood behind her – one left, one right. Even with this poor light quality, Sieglinde could clearly see the woman’s beauty. Her dark hair, her porcelain skin, her glowing eyes. The woman in the picture shone with confidence and strength, and the smile on her face reminded Sieglinde of one of Ciel’s vicious smiles. She was the centre of the picture, stole all attention from the two men in the background like a queen.
“Who is she?” Sieglinde whispered, not daring to speak louder.
“My grandmother – Cloudia Phantomhive,” Ciel answered after a long pause, and turned away from the drawing. “And now, let us get out of here.”

Unrelated to WotQ but Cloudia/Undertaker stories:
Itamae Phantomhive
I was procrastinating from writing a chapter for WotQ (I cannot remember which one it was; I'm sure I was procrastinating from uni stuff too) by thinking of something idiotic (modern sushi shop AU: The Phantomhives run a sushi shop as a "front" to gather information. Their clientele are mainly criminals and shady people, and they don't know they're the Watchdog family. Only Cloudia can't cook for shit, so she just hires Tanaka when he comes to kill her). I wrote two chapters and a bit of the third and then I forced myself to pull the brakes and post the story on AO3. It stayed up for about 24h hours, got no or maybe one hit, and then I deleted it. From 2018.
Chapter One: Itadakimasu
After her father's death, Cloudia Phantomhive inherited the Watchdog duty—and the Phantomhive family's sushi restaurant. Unfortunately, she was only ever trained in the art of killing, not in the art of sushi.
Struggling to run the restaurant, not to accidentally poison her criminal clientele, and be accepted into the (criminal) culinary world, Cloudia finds fortune in the oddest of ways: through an assassination attempt.
The funeral parlour was dark and dusty when Cloudia Phantomhive stepped inside, and she already regretted choosing it just because it was so close to work. She closed the door behind her and turned on the lights – and a few weak lights looking like candles came to life, exposing rows of coffins, numerous skulls, loose bones lying around.
Well done, Cloudia, you have chosen the funeral parlour of a weirdo.
“Is anyone there?” Cloudia said but nobody replied and appeared. Instead, she heard laughter seemingly coming from everywhere, seemingly coming from one of the coffins.
Cloudia took a deep breath, cursing herself for not checking this place first and potentially endangering herself, before she pricked up her ears and knocked against the coffins to find out from which one the laughter was coming from. And when she finally found the right coffin, Cloudia tore it open and found the strangest looking man she had ever seen inside it. He had long grey hair which fell into his eyes, and he wore old-fashioned black clothes, which were too large for him, and a compatible hat.
“You found me!” he said and giggled, stepping out of the coffin and wandering around the room before sitting down on a large desk made of dark wood.
“You have to be the new Countess of Phantomhive,” said the man. “I have already awaited you.”
“Of course,” Cloudia replied. “We had an appointment after all.”
He grinned. “Please take a seat, Countess Phantomhive.”
She frowned. “And where?”
He gesticulated towards the coffins on the ground. “As you have checked them, you should know that they are empty. For now, at least.”
Cloudia sat down, and the man held an opened casket, from which bone-shaped biscuits reached out, out to her. “Do you want some, Countess Phantomhive?”
“No, thanks. And ‘Miss Phantomhive’ or even just ‘Cloudia’ is fine. You don’t have to be so awfully formal. After all, nobody really cares about old noble titles nowadays anyway – don’t you think so, Mr…?”
“Undertaker,” the man said.
“You’re an undertaker and your name is… Undertaker?”
Undertaker smiled. “Indeed.”
“I didn’t get a lot of sleep in the last week, so, please excuse me if I put this too bluntly, but are you shitting on me right now?”
“Of course, not, Countess Phantomhive,” he replied with no sarcasm in his voice. Cloudia wasn’t quite sure how she should feel about it.
Cloudia rubbed her eyes. “Very well, Mr Undertaker…”
“Just ‘Undertaker’ is enough.”
Then just ‘Cloudia’ should be as well. She sighed. “Very well, Undertaker. How are the preparations for my father’s funeral going?” she asked, clutching her hands together in her lap.
“Splendidly,” Undertaker answered, taking a bite off one of his biscuits. “As soon the late Earl is returned by the police, the funeral will be held.”
She took a deep breath. “No complications?”
“No.”
“No further questions?”
“No.”
Cloudia took another deep breath before taking her bag and standing up. “Then – it was nice to finally meet you, Undertaker.”
He put away the casket and tilted his head. “You came here just to ask a few questions you could have asked on the phone as well?”
I just had to go outside. “I just wanted to be here if you needed my help with anything,” Cloudia answered, smiling. “And now, I have to go again. Goodbye, Undertaker.”
***
London, just like every big city she guessed, was a noisy place. And even though it wasn’t her first time in London, Cloudia flinched when she stepped out of the funeral parlour and was met with all that noise. There were so many people, so many things to see – so much life, so much movement –, and Cloudia wondered when, if at all, she would get accustomed it. London was so much different than the little town by Phantomhive Manor where she grew up after all.
Cloudia put on her earphones to shut herself off the world a bit and kept on walking. Her mother, the last Countess of Phantomhive, had died when she had been very young, and instead of letting his daughter live with him at the family’s London townhouse, Cloudia’s father had decided that she was to continue living at Phantomhive Manor with only a few servants to look after her. It wasn’t because her father didn’t love her – it was because he had wanted to keep her away as much as possible from the world he frequented. He had wanted to protect her even if it meant that they could only see each other a couple of times a year. This had been the sacrifice he had made; this had been the sacrifice he had accepted.
And now, he was dead.
When Cloudia arrived, she took off the earphones, threw them into her bag, and counted from ten downwards before she unlocked the restaurant’s door.
The Phantomhives were a special family.
Cloudia didn’t know when it had started but for what seemed like forever, the Phantomhives served the British Crown as Watchdogs. They governed the Underworld – and just like everything neither the Underworld nor the methods to oversee stayed the same.
Cloudia still wondered why the old methods had evolved into this: A sushi restaurant frequented by criminals and run by the very person who would bring them down. A sushi restaurant whose basement was a technological Eldorado.
The restaurant was located in a place known for its criminal activity, and the whole reasoning behind this façade was that nobody ever suspected the quiet cook or the waiter wandering around like a ghost as long as nobody was poisoned. But even then, suspicion didn’t often fall on the waiter or the cook but on the person facing you. After all, it was easier albeit riskier to put the poison into the tea yourself instead of bribing the waiter or exchanging the cook, especially if it was a place whose employees were well-known to the Underworld and the Underworld was well-known to the employees too. And the “Funtom Tetra” was such a place. The criminals frequenting London, or even Great Britain as a whole, knew that the Phantomhives were running this place, knew who was working here. They also knew that the Phantomhives would never do anything to lose their clientele by doing something as foolish as taking a side and engaging in any underground wars or selling information. And they were right, but only partially – the Phantomhives didn’t take the side of a criminal but of the Crown; they didn’t engage in underground wars, they brought them to an end; they didn’t sell information, they only used it to cleverly take them down before presenting the truth to the Queen.
But why, of all things, a sushi restaurant? Cloudia had once asked her father that question, and the only answer he had been able to give had been a shrug.
With a sigh, Cloudia turned on the lights and locked the door behind her, leaning against it and letting her gaze wander through the restaurant. She had loved her father – she still did. She understood why he had let her grow up safe and sound at the manor. But now, he was dead, and the family duty was left to her.
And she had no idea how to run a sushi restaurant.
Ah, isn’t that every girl’s dream?

Monsters of London
Another book series I like is Monsters of Verity. There are monsters in that book called Sunai that "collect" (or, rather, consume) souls after playing a melody, so I decided to replace the Grim Reapers' gardening tools with musical instruments too. I also thought of more monsters and decided to make Cloudia unable to walk, based on the meaning of her name: "lame, crippled." I actually still like this idea and think the prologue isn't that awfully written as the things above, but the fic is binned because I simply have no time. From 2018.
Prologue: Elegy
Countryside, England, United Kingdom – June 1838
Even after all those years, he was amazed how naturally the melody came to him when he hoisted the violin to his shoulder and touched the strings with the bow. He closed his eyes and let himself be fully absorbed by the song, swiftly moving the bow and adjusting his fingers on the strings. When he played, he felt completely calm and at ease. When he played, he felt complete. And every time, the song came to its end, he had to force himself not to start again, but to take down the bow, withdraw the violin from his shoulder, and open his eyes again to see what he had done.
Cedric Rosene had never been a man, had only ever been a monster wearing the face of one. When he played his melody, he could pretend to be what he only seemed to be, but when he opened his eyes, he was always confronted with what he was: A monster which lured souls out of bodies to collect them, to safely store them away before they were ready to go on.
His kind was called Sunai, but over the centuries, they had become better known as Grim Reapers in tales and legends.
Cedric knelt down next to the corpse whose soul had surfaced while he had played his song. Gently, he tapped his bow to the shining soul to collect it and start the Cinematic Record – a voiced-over record of the corpse’s life. When Cedric had collected a soul for the first time, his hands had shaken when he had taken up his violin and started his song. Of course, the melody had taken away his tension and the feeling of nausea, but they had returned the instance he had moved to hold the bow against the dead body. And afterwards, he had been plagued by what he did and what he saw of the person’s record. Back then, Cedric had been haunted at day and at night. Now, his bad thoughts were only woven into his dreams.
After he had finished, Cedric left the room and searched for more corpses to find, for more souls to claim. In the distance, he could hear the melodies of his fellow Reapers who had come with him to this place; even though they were far away, Cedric could still make out every note.
From what he had found out of the Cinematic Records, the lady of the household had fallen ill in the middle of April and had only managed to fight herself back to healthiness a few weeks ago. The sudden and drastic decrease in the mistress’ health had caused great panic and worry for her family and the other household members. Everyone had focused to nurse her out of this horrible state; nobody had even wasted a single thought on the Season which had begun shortly before she had become sick. However, after she had triumphed over the disease and returned to her former self, preparations had been started to move to London for the Season.
The preparations had included to send some servants ahead to their townhouse so that they could ready it for their master’s family. And then, someone had taken the current state of the manor – understaffed, hectic – to their advantage to sneak into it and silently murder everyone inside.
How sad, Cedric had thought after the first Cinematic Record had finished before his eyes. Such tragedy after such happiness.
He found his path through the manor, following the faint hum of souls resting beneath not-beating hearts and collecting each of them. Eventually, Cedric arrived in what seemed to be a salon. It must have been a stunning room, once upon a time, but now, part of the carpet and walls were stained with blood; now, part of the furniture laid knocked-over, sometimes even partially broken, on the ground. Glancing down at the maid’s and butler’s unmoving bodies, Cedric hoisted his violin back to his shoulders and began to play. He took the servants’ souls, but right before he left, he blinked at the wheelchair, sitting lonely but upright in the middle of the room. From what he had found out of the records, the daughter had been born with legs which would never carry her. The wheelchair was hers. When the first had noticed what was going on in the mansion, the butler and the maid had hurried to the salon to find the young lady, but they had only found the wheelchair. They hadn’t been able to search further for her.
Cedric tore his gaze away from the chair and scanned the room. A Sunai’s song made a person’s soul surface and glow, and this effect wasn’t limited to those dead or dying. He stilled when he saw a silver glow shining through the thin gap between the cupboard’s doors. The soul of a dying or dead person was always black, but the souls of the living could have every possible colour.
For a moment, Cedric played with the thought to open the cupboard and lift the girl out and back into the wheelchair. And, perhaps, he would have even done it – helping the girl, revealing himself to her against the rules – if one of his companions hadn’t called for him.
With one last glance at the cupboard, Cedric turned around and left the salon – following the notes hanging in the air to the others.

300 Works on AO3 Check In
I now have 300 works up on AO3. The only harassment from Antis I've received is a hate Ask from an Izzy-Anti and a nasty comment from an anon really upset that I included a pit bull in my fic.
I've also gotten dogpiled, rude comments, and my works reported for talking about racism, but those people don't typically identify as "Antis".
For that matter, you get people who do identify as Antis but don't harass anyone. And most people in fandom have something they dislike but keep that to their own blogs rather than harassing anyone, even if they feel really strong about it. Like, in my current fandom (The Locked Tomb), a lot of the fandom really does not like John Gaius (my blorbo) or second cousin incest ship Camilla/Palamedes (my OTP), but I have not received any harassment for my fandom content here.
So let's talk about strawmen, exaggerated harm, and Making Up A Guy.
See, the reason I started doing these check ins is that I'd encounter breathless warnings about Antis harassing people across fandom. Don't leave comments turned on for your dark fic, the warnings would go, or you'll get harassed. You can't ship X without getting harassed, I was told.
And it just wasn't matching up with my experiences, even though I'm a prolific fic writer who writes a variety of content for a multitude of ships.
Oh, Antis who harass people exist. Like I said, I've encountered them. And I've seen the same happen with others. But I feel like the fear of Antis on a pan-fandom basis outstrips the actual threat. (It seems like some fandoms have a worse Anti harassment problem than others. Our Flag Means Death is bad, and I've heard horror stories about Voltron. But that's the thing: the warnings I see don't narrow their scope to a few specific fandoms; they treat it as if every fandom is as bad as Voltron.)
Now let's talk about Tiffany G. Last year, Tiffany G ran for the AO3 board. Now, like all candidates, she had to meet certain volunteer requirements; not just anyone can run for an AO3 board position.
Tiffany G made some comments about wanting to push back against misconceptions of AO3, and fandom lost its damn mind. She got accused, no lie, of being an infiltrator spy for the Chinese government. Hey, if you're ever wondering why the AO3 board isn't more diverse, it's because when a Chinese fan ran, fandom rallied together to slander her as a spy for the Chinese government. Fans openly celebrated when she lost. Which, you know, has to be a really shitty experience for a devoted AO3 volunteer.
And she was positioned as an Anti and a threat to fandom.
Fandom collectively Made Up A Guy. The phantom menace they'd made up didn't reflect who Tiffany G actually was or what she wanted. It was a caricature - a strawman for fandom to band together and destroy. But there was a real human person being targeted by all that ire.
So what's going on?
Well, out in meat space, there is a lot of censorship and repression, from the U.K. banning protests to the U.S. banning everything from books to gender affirming care to a thousand other shitty things happening all over the globe.
And that can make people feel genuinely powerless. Making Up A Guy to destroy is easy. It makes people feel like they've accomplished something.
But they haven't accomplished anything.
Well, except for probably making one dedicated AO3 volunteer (Tiffany G) feel like shit. Good job, everyone. You didn't stop fascism, but you hurt one random person.
And this is what all the warnings about Antis harassing people are about, why they're broad instead of narrow and why they tend to overstate the [real!] problem.
Because it's about Making Up A Guy that fans can feel so brave for opposing.
Because that's easier than actually doing something.

Hi hun, I haven't seen you around much and I know things have been super rough lately but I hope you're doing ok ✨
@vodkafolie Hey, hon 💙 Lot's been happening over here in my neck of the woods (literally, lmao). I'm gonna info dump.
Tumblr media
I've been doing odd jobs to keep me afloat.
I got selected for another mental health program. The person running it is a well-known psychologist. I applied for this back in late December. Didn't think I'd get in since there were 1800+ candidates going for it, and I'm 1 out of 32 that made the cut. If the sample group of clients I get for the next 8 weeks goes smooth, I'll have a full-time remote job by Summer. I'm not putting my eggs all in one basket, though. I'm still looking for regular work.
The business proposal with the mental health app picked back up. We are supposed to meet sometime next week to discuss further if we're gonna move forward and what the partnership might look like.
I'm speed running through one of my graduate classes and going at a snails pace in the other. The technical jargon is burning me out, but my grades are good.
My college advisor and profs want me to attend summer term for the program, but alas *opens wallet and watches moth fly out* I've been going back and forth with them on how unless they're gonna cover for me, I can't do it until I have stable employment.
I'm meeting a long covid specialist. My secondary PCP discovered I may have undiagnosed POTS, and this fungal blood infection I had in my body last Summer (late August, early September) might be making a comeback. Some symptoms have returned. I'm not surprised. That's how I got it in the first place last year cause of immunity issues post-covid. I had to go on a strict diet for almost 3 months, take some nasty as shit medication, and I lost over 50 pounds. Hindsight, the weight loss was good for me, but if I have to do that again I'm gonna be bones by the end of it this time around.
With all the parasites, fungus's and other nasty shit I've caught and lived through, I'm either gonna be super human immune to everything and my blood will be the universal cure for all horrible shit, or one day I'm gonna be patient zero for something god awful. I've made peace with either option 😂
I got a vendor spot at a convention that's happening in less than a week. I've been prepping for that and hoping I make some money.
I'm taking a break on some of my long fics and writing requests, bbbuuuuttttttt...I also had a batshit crazy idea for a Luis Serra fic, and I'm balls deep invested. It's the only thing keeping me from a full writers block right now.
It's been...a lot, but oddly enough I'm happier than I was. I'm worn out, tired, and still stressed about money, but I'm not depressed like I was. Things are getting better in some ways. I'm trying to self-care the best I can, and reign in the ambition so my body has a chance to recoup.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk 💙🫂😂 I hope you've been doing well hon! I've been re-reading some of your work as of late too. It's been fun for me!
