lucasworld is the nickname for the novel im writing but the current working title is Middle Of The Road. the main characters are:

Lucas Dixon

Noah Campbell

Lin McAster

Odin Lester

Madison Harpham

there are 3 others (crya, finn, and holly) but they're sadly not all that relevant. they also (mostly) have parents who make varied appearances. lucas noah and lin are 16, odin is 17, and madison is 18.

theyre all trans guys apart from madison who is a cis girl (unless you ask my bf he is adamant she has tgirl swag). the interesting thing with odin is that it isnt revealed that hes transgender until quite far into the book, for various reasons.

lucas and lin are the Main Characters, most of the book alternates between their povs, but occasionally odin gets a chapter because he's my Baby Boy.

important information about lucas: he's about five foot seven, he has shitty brown hair and wire-framed round glasses. he tried to cut his own hair once and it never fully recovered. he loves car seat headrest, he's anxious all of the time, and his biggest flaw is how much he projects his own issues onto others.

important information about lin: he's about five foot five, has silver hair in a middle part which he dyes exclusively with the cheapest box dye he can find, and he's very scottish. his mummy issues r what make him funny. he loves listening to music in the woods, he gets hatecrimed literally daily, and his biggest flaw is he either thinks too much or too little. no in-between.

important information about noah: he's about five foot eight, has a blond mullet which lucas would DIE for, and he's very pale. pale to the point he looks like a ghost... i wonder why. he likes lucas, lying about being dead (he is), and his biggest flaw is the fact he died.

important information about odin: he's about five foot ten, has greasy black hair he slicks back awfully, and is literally always wearing a shitty leather jacket. he thinks he's literally JD from heathers but cooler. he likes planes, bullying lin, and his biggest flaw is his INSANE internalised transphobia.

Headcanons for the rest of TLB were requested by @pitiful-anonymous-vampire so we’re starting with David!

He was the first of the boys to be turned, sired by Max sometime in the early 1800s

Grew up in a big city and prefers them over towns and the countryside

His jacket is a comfort item (cred @greatkateweathermachine)

He wears a lot of layers because he had anemia as a human, and then just never dropped the habit after he was turned

He’s not great at showing affection, at least not directly. He shows it through actions, like getting people things they’ve offhandedly mentioned wanting, or by remembering little details about their likes and dislikes

A lot of his outward personality is curated

Sure, he’s confidant and cocky and a good leader, but he’s also a lot mellower when he’s not out on the boardwalk or entertaining food

He keeps to himself more, just kind of going around doing his own thing, wrapped up in his own thoughts, but he’ll allow himself to be pulled into people’s laps or arms, and he’ll hop into conversations if he has something to say

He has a lot of practical skills

David knows how to sew and cook and draw (though his art isn’t that great), and he likes to make stuff in his spare time

He lets the people he’s comfortable with touch him casually (arms over the shoulder, hugs, cuddling, etc.) and the people he’s really close to (really only TLB and Michael) get the special perk of hearing his natural laugh

It’s a little messier, louder, and he always muffles the end with a hand over his mouth

its real kuroken hours

theyre both the anxious friend so they take turns being the one to order in a fast food place, being the one to actually go to the counter to get movie tickets, etc

that couple that were already dating for YEARS before they actually confessed

sometimes kuroo shows up to kenma’s house unannounced and sits and watches him build shit in minecraft for a few hours and thats how he de-stresses

kings of casual physical affection, when youve known someone since they were 8 taking a nap on them during lunch break is no big deal

yaku was PISSED when they announced they were dating bc he’d bet kai that they wouldnt get together for another 7 months

Kuroo: we’re like the blood in our vei- Kenma: im breaking up with you

not a super PDA-y couple because neither of them are into drawing attention to themselves but sometimes they link pinkies when theyre walking together

kuroo is ticklish, kenma is not, this has been used to kenma’s advantage numerous times

the team get worried that theyre having a fight like every other practice but kuroo & kenma just show their affection by being sarcastic assholes

kenma voice: oh you’d know if me and kuro were arguing

(grand total of 3 fights as a couple, the longest of which lasted 4 days, theyre not ‘perfect’ but theyre both willing to try and thats far more important)

Both have gotten really good at comforting the other when he has an anxiety attack. Kuroo gives Kenma his jacket, sits next to him and rambles on about chemistry until his breathing goes back to normal. Kenma hugs Kuroo and hums for him and waits patiently until he’s not crying anymore

Date night for them is grabbing take-out on the way home from practice, going to Kenma’s place and destroying each other in smash bros until they pass out at like 3am

Kenma’s parents LOVE Kuroo, they call him ‘Tetsu-kun’ and make his favourite food when he comes over for dinner and when he & Kenma announce that they’re dating Kenma’s dad jokes about Kuroo finally being his son in law

Kenma likes all of Kuroo’s family but he gets along really well with his grandmother, the two of them drink tea together and talk about the crazy shit she got up to when she was a teenager

Kuroo: yeah well my boyfriend is cuter than yours so shut up!

Yaku: I don’t even have a boyfriend?????

One time Inuoka asks Kenma how he and Kuroo got together and Kuroo dives across a table to put his hands over Kenma’s mouth

(Kuroo accidentally confessed, tried to run away, tripped and had to deal with Kenma laughing at him for 10 minuets straight before he finally helped him up and kissed him)

Kuroo has so much second hand video game knowledge and he has no idea what to do with it.

‘I know about the drop rates of leather boots in minecraft Kenma, when is that ever going to be useful to me?’

‘Yeah well thanks to you I could write a thesis about the Higgs Boson so we’re even’

Study dates that turn into movie marathons that turn into cuddle sessions whilst they take turns thinking of as many bad puns as possible

Kenma is the big spoon and every time Kuroo calls him a jet pack he kicks him

Kuroo: I love my tiny boyfriend~ he’s so short he fits under my chin perfectly, he gets me to grab books off of high shelves in the library, I love my tiny bf~

Kenma: if not for the laws of this land I would have slaughtered you

They are constantly bickering over whether or not mint is a good flavour. Kuroo buys more expensive toothpaste just so he doesn’t have to taste it, Kenma wears mint chapstick to spite him

Kenma, kissing Kuroo on the cheek: I love you but if you practice in your binder one more time because you ‘forgot’ to bring a sports bra so help me god

They’ve done matching Halloween costumes ever since they first met and Kuroo still has pictures from when they were 12 and dressed up as Ladybug and Cat Noir

Kenma voice: Tora you’re full of shit taking a nap together is absolutely a date activity

Kuroo touches up Kenma’s roots and complains about the smell of bleach the entire time

Their favourite movie to watch together is Pacific Rim because they have an in-joke about being drift compatible

(The joke comes from the first Valentines card Kenma gave Kuroo after they started dating)

The reason Kenma still calls him ‘Kuro’ and not ‘Tetsurou’? When Kuroo came out he hadn’t decided on a name yet so Kenma was like ‘well I’ll just call you by your family name until you think of something’ and then he just got into the habit

He’s saved as ‘Tetsu <3’ in Kenma’s phone tho, the team must never find out or he’ll never heard the end of it

Kuroo voice: it’s literally so unfair that you can steal my clothes but I can’t steal yours :’(
