people who complain about people singing at concerts are so annoying if you only want to listen to the artists thats what listening at music at home is for. concerts are a social experience you go there to be with other people who like the music as much as you do, you dont get to stop them enjoying it because you dont know what a concert is

Venus Sign Observations- 011
Tumblr media
Venus in Leo’s are those girls in hs you think “how early does she get up to get ready?” You rarely ever see this placement have ugly days they are all so well kept & usually smell incredible. The types to wear their hair in really trendy styles, wear designer outfits and perfumes. BIG on luxury. In a relationship they LOVE being shown off and given lots of attention and compliments. they also love when their partner begs for their attention.
Venus in Libras are really easy to impress lol, all you really have to be is semi attractive. My libra Venus friend every time we go out would be like “OMG THAT GUY IS SOOO CUTE” but say that about 15 other guys that day😂 the women can be VERY obsessed with the opposite sex. They are such flirty people.
Venus in Taurus gives conventional housewife vibes lol. They are into classic feminine hobbies such as sewing, cooking, making jewelry/ clothes, art. If you marry a women with this placement you hit the jackpot.
Venus in Scorpio men tend to be cheaters. Everyone talks about their loyalty but they are only really loyal once they feel they’ve truly found their soulmate (in most cases are rare cuz they’re picky) a lot get bored of their relationships once the passion dies (similar to Aries Venus). They tend to prefer emotionally complex women to keep them on their toes.
Venus in Aquarius’s tend to look really good with circle frame glasses. They pull it off soo well. Also if you have this placement and are looking for new fashion ideas. Look up cyberpunk/Dystopian aesthetic. Y’all would look amazing in that type of style.
Most Venus in Virgos I meet are not big on the physical aspect of love. It takes them SOOO long to open up physically. This causes a lot to get friend zoned. They express their love very differently from most Venus signs which can cause some confusion in their relationships. They are big on acts of service & the intellectual side of love.
Venus in Aries usually always makes the first move when liking someone ( man or woman) they can jump into relationships fast just for it to end just as quick. They really date for the excitement and fun of having a new crush. But once that it becomes deeper than a crush and gets serious most usually back out. Also they can get turned on my arguing. When things become dull they will normally create some issue to keep the sparks alive. To more sensitive signs this can be very draining.
Venus in Geminis are very hard to pin down. I notice their feeling for their partners never seem quite genuine? I notice even in relationships they try to seek out attention from other people. They need a lot of mental stimulation to keep their full attention on one person. And if they’re partner fails to stimulate them they’ll find someone else who can. It’s very rare they catch true feelings for someone but when they do they’re surprisingly loyal.
Venus in Pisces kinda irritate me lol. The men are always talking to different women. They are big on following their heart, but if their hearts tells them to talk to five girls they would😭 it’s very rare to see the men of this placement settle with one woman. The women of this placement I notice are amazing lovers but tend to give it to usually terrible neglectful partners:( I’ve seen women with their placements bust their ass for men that barely give them the time of day.. y’all deserve a lot better than that.
Sagittarius Venus’s tend to date people who are a different ethnicity as them or date from foreign countries. They have a deep appreciation for culture and traveling. So they may also travel with their partner a lot. This is imo the most loyal Sagittarius placement. I’ve seen people be in relationships for years with this placement.
Cancer Venus’s are extremely sweet and nurturing in a relationship. Gives Mommy vibes 🥺. The types to bring you home cooked meals get your bath water running. A lot a notice tend to be very submissive/vanilla. They require a lot of emotional attention and babying even themselves. They types to prefer at home dates compared to traveling or going out.
Capricorn Venus tends to take partnerships like it’s a job (similar to Virgo Venus) they see attending to their partners needs more like a duty which is why they can appear cold in their affections even though they mean well. Emotionally it can be harder to connect with this sign but once they trust you they’ll show you a very sensual romantic side they’ve been hiding. They mostly express love through gift giving. These partners give some of the best most expensive gifts. Just know you’ll be taken good care of if this placement loves you 👌🏽
Venus in Scorpios look AMAZING in black. Any dark aesthetic look great on them. And they may prefer partners with a darker aesthetic as well
Venus in Aries women tend to feel more comfortable having male friends than other women. Usually we’re tomboys growing up
Libra Venus’s are usually really good at makeup or look amazing with a full face of makeup.

How Can You Enhance Your Beauty?
What can you do to acentuate you features and which style/aesthetic suits you best? Lets take a look!
Please pick a card; (1-4, left to right)
Tumblr media
Pile One(Ace of Spades)
Cards; The Empress, The world, King of Cups, Ace of Pentacles.
Pile one you have that supple, vivacious feminine beauty. Think of ancient portrayals of feminine goddesses. The way women were portrayed in renaissance paintings. Fuller figured, softer around the edges. You may be a romantic in terms of kibbe body types. You may have a wide set body and thicker bones. You could be tall, and may appear larger than you actually are. That is to say, because of the rouded nature of your appearence people may expect you to be heavier than you are or weaker/lacking muscle. A good example is Marylin monroe who was actually quite petite and was said to diet often despite her voluptuous appearence. You could have big eyes and a vacant look about you, a natural poise and grace. Despite this overt feminity, you could have androginous features. That is to say, you may have a larger nose than others, a wider jaw, slighty bigger feet, some 'traditionally masculine features' bleed into your appearence. But these just add to your beauty in a subtle way. You have a welcoming, receptive energy at first glance, think of a cancer rising. You may have had issues with people underestimating you or looking down on you because of this initial soft and welcoming appearence. People may have even sexualised you in the past, placing strange expectations on you and im also hearing that some of them outright started telling you about their sexual fantasies involving your body? Pile one, you look best when you look abundant. When you look like you are well taken care of and happy with your life, determined. When you are at a place in your life where you feel fulfilled and balanced, there is a natural glow that comes over you and enhances your beauty. Jewelry also enhances your beauty, specifically jewelry that looks expensive and tasteful. You may look really good in business casual style outfits. When you combine feminine and masculine elements in your look, it really complements your features . You look really good when you give your soft features an 'edge' this can be with makeup, fashion, whatever way you want. It's good to let some of your personality shine through, to communicate that you look soft but have a backbone. You may favour more structured, masculine looks but have had poor experiences with styling these because they may not have fit the way you wanted/imagined them on your body. Find a way to work around that, incorporate things like shoulder pads, strategically loose clothing, boots etc. There're some pictures of jennifer lawrence walking dogs that went semi-viral, her outift in those pictures would suit you well. That kind of quiet luxury fashion look.
Pile Two(Ace of Hearts)
Cards; Queen of cups reversed, 3 of swords reversed, King of swords reversed, The Fool.
Pile 2 you have a melancholy sort of beauty. There is something haunting and sad about you. When people look at you, there is a depth that they can feel. Your emotions, your sadness, you wear them on your face. This is not to say that you are sad all the time, its just that it's easy for people to attach those qualities to you. People wonder what you could be thinking about when they look at you, how your life may be going and who your friends are. Sad girl aesthetic, you may like to wear muted colours, grunge/emo fashion. You could have saturnian features; strong bone structure, deep set eyes/an intense gaze. Prominent eyes. I'm seeing that some of you have undereye circles and forehead lines/crinkles. Freckles as well. Whatever you do, it seems picturesque; perfectly imperfect. If someone were to capture you in the moment, the picture would come out with a raw, dark academia feel. You have a certain vibe that transcends what you wear/look like. You can enhance your beauty by trying something new. A lot of you who chose this pile have a comfort zone that is enforced solely through force of habit. Don't be afraid to try things that pique your interest even if it may seem strange to the people around you. Some of you want to completely change your aesthetic but are worried that you will regret it and have to buy a whole new wardrobe/makeup collection etc afterwards. It seems that a lot of looks, aesthetics appeal to you but you're not sure which to focus on. Some of you used to have a more sexy/mature vibe but feel the need to cover up/dress more conservativly recently. You'd do well to slowly incorporate the new style and grow comfortable in it day to day. For others, you're perfectly fine the way you are but are feeling stagnant. Social media trends hold quite the sway on you and you are worried about how people perceive you because you don't have the newest clothes/jewelry/shoes and dress similarly each day. You may also like to thrift your clothes and have some well loved favourites that you wear constantly. It seems there's really no issue, if you feel the want to change, try it to see if the satisfaction is as great as you would have thought. Otherwise, its not really worth the hassle. It seems that you also need to change your perspective/the content you consume. Content that aligns with your interests and natural inclinations will help you feel more secure in your habits and the way you choose to present yourself. Some of you could be thinking about undegoing surgery and making a more permanent and drastic change to your features. You are being advised to think long and hard as to why you wish to do that, and if you will really be satisfied with the results. Beauty standards change, you may find that your 'flaw' will be the next beauty trend or that you never really hated the a way a certain feature looked after all.
Pile Three(Ace of Diamonds)
Cards; The Magician. Nine of wands reversed, Ace of pentacles, Three of pentacles.
Pile 3, you have the ability to present yourself however you desire. You have a very versatile look and many makeup and fashion styles suit you. Some of you are aware of this and take advantage of the fact. But others aren't and like to stay within a single fashion/makeup style. Either way it looks good on you and you are often complimented for your looks. You are quite creative too, and customise your clothes/hair makeup to fit your personality. Something about your hair stands out. It seems that your personality may come as a surprise to people who perceive only your looks as a first impression. You could also be quite spiritual/witchy and use glamours and charms to exert a specific appeal depending on your goal. You can enhance your beauty by going for an understated look. I'm seeing that you haven't really tried simplistic makeup before, or you don't wear it often. Consulting an external influence could also help you enhance your looks. Such as colour analysis, analysing your features(like the kibbe body types), or even asking a friend what they think you should do. I'm seeing that you are generally happy with where you are in terms of looks/beauty and could just be looking to spice things up/suggestions because you are an open minded and optimistic sort of person. A message for you is also to utilise beauty sevices like spas, make up studios, stylists etc. You are good at styling yourself but other factors in your life may be occupying your time/energy and taking care of yourself may start to feel like a burden. Take the opportunity to treat yourself and relax, you deserve it!
Pile Four(Ace of Flowers)
Cards; 7 of swords, Knight of cups,4 of swords reversed, 3 of swords.
Pile 4 you have a duaity about you. I'm seeing that you dress according to how you feel. You have moments where you don't want to talk to anyone and would rather stay at home. During those moments you wear athleisure, comfortable clothes and put little effort into your appearence. But when you feel more confident and extroverted you put on bold and colourful clothes to match your bright and energetic personality at the time. You could be tall/look tall, and have a preference for baggy silhouttes. Something about your lips is prominent. You could have long limbs and be slender, regardless of your weight/fitness. You are someone who's talkative, or very expressive. You have a lot of opinions, even though you may keep them to yourself. You're quite involved in your own inner world and even when you are not talking to anyone, your face is very expressive in reaction to your thoughts. You may be cheeky as well, and like to have something going on that nobody knows about. Your personality is really shining through here, despite it being a beauty reading lol. That's your appeal, you're a whirlwind and people can't help but notice you. Your looks just add to your character. You can enhace your beauty by increasing your activity level. Becoming fit, going to the gym or participating in an active hobby. It'll suit you well to have something that occupies your mind as well as your body. Also, to try a more somber look in regard to fashion and makeup, like a dark feminine siren type of makeup style/clothing. It seems that there is also something that you have been struggling to accept about yourself, this weighs on you and is cauising visible tiredness/strain. For some of you, it is a body part that you are insecure about, for others its a tendency to overthink and neglect yourself in the process. Learning to accept that part of yourself and developing healthy coping mechanisms to distract you in your times of mental strain will have you feeling and looking more confident.
******
That's it! Thank you for participating in this pick a card reading! If you would like to book a private reading with me, you can do so here. If you're interested in my other PAC's, you can check them out here!

Thinkin' 'bout ghoul teeth. Let's go.
-Aether has some serious chompers. His teeth are designed to crush and crack bone, but since he doesn't do a lot of that on the surface, he mostly gnaws on sticks or, well... bones.
The ghouls need their enrichment toys, and in Aeth's case, he needs something to wear down those saw blades of his.
If he doesn't blunt his teeth, his canines grow out of control and he winds up with little tusks, which isn't really an issue aesthetically, but it can make his mouth feel crowded and impede his ability to speak.
Also, it hurts, so... Yeah.
-Dew's teeth are the closest to human teeth than the other ghouls', which is largely because fire ghouls tend to be closer in likeness to humans in general.
Something about their biology aligns more with humanity's quirks, it's what makes them such good servants to the lord below, so good at mimicking the inhabitants of the surface...
Anyway, Dew's teeth are ever so slightly sharper around the canines, but that's about it.
Even pure fire ghouls like Alpha or Ifrit have more "human smiles" about their features, so it's not exclusive to Dew.
Funnily enough, this has resulted in an odd habit among fire ghouls; Their bites don't really hurt, so they nip at each other a lot, and biting is a pretty common form of greeting amongst pack members.
Fire ghoul parents also tend to carry their kits around in a similar fashion to cats or dogs, so their teeth being blunt helps prevent harming their babies.
-Rain's teeth are serrated and sharp.
They're made to rip and tear, but also to trap and pin prey.
The edges dig into flesh indiscriminately and cannot be pulled free from without causing serious damage; The serrations run opposite the tip of his fans, so they hook into the skin when he bites.
These types of teeth are more common in the salt water variant of water ghouls, who spend most of their time in deep water and have to latch onto their prey and prevent it from floating/swimming away.
Usually, if Rain bites someone on he surface, that's his way of asserting dominance, because no one, absolutely no one, is stupid enough to pull free or struggle when he sinks his teeth into them.
-Mountain's teeth are rather long and sharp, and made to pierce.
For some reason, earth ghouls' teeth are designed to draw blood, and some speculate -mostly easily frightened siblings of sin- that this is partially where some of the legends of vampires come from, because they certainly do have an interest in blood.
Mountain usually doesn't show off his teeth, but it is known that, compared to other earth ghouls, his are a bit duller, if only because he's needed some corrective work done due to a couple of his fangs growing in a little crooked and making it hard for him to eat and drink properly.
-Cumulus' teeth are little, needlelike things and so sharp you wouldn't know she'd bit you until the pin pricks of blood showed up a moment later.
Air ghouls seem to carry a sort of venom within their bodies that can be transferred via bite, and it leaves the victim feeling light and floaty.
Cumulus tends to avoid biting people.
And lastly;
-Multi ghouls usually have the teeth of whichever element is their dominant one; Water wins over fire, fire wins over earth, etc...
However, as is the case with most -if not all- human/ghoul hybrids, Swiss has a full set of human teeth, and it is haunting.
There's no subtle sharpness to them, they're uncannily human simply because they are.
Swiss' smile, unlike the mimicry of fire ghouls, IS human.

First Life Day
Crosshair/Reader
Words: 1,618
Summary: It's the Bad Batch's first Life Day on Pabu, and you want to get something special for one of them. The only problem is that you have absolutely no idea what.
Note: this is a @cloneficgiftexchange gift for @starrylothcat! You will likely get another gift at some point in the future, but i am assisting your original gifter by making sure that you get a little something extra in this exchange :)
Clone Troopers Masterlist
Tumblr media
What should one purchase a slightly reclusive, often sarcastic, ex-Empire clone sniper for Life Day? Kriff if you knew.
And to make the stakes that much higher, you had feelings for him. If this gift didn’t go over perfectly you faced the potential of losing the friendship you had spent so much time cultivating, and that was not a fate you wanted to experience.
Ever.
But the issue was, you were completely stumped on a gift, and you couldn’t just go up to Crosshair and ask him what he wanted for Life Day. Best case scenario, he looks at you with a confused expression before muttering something tiny. Worst case scenario, he tells you that he doesn’t want anything from you, and that you had misread every interaction you’ve ever had with him. Neither of them were really great, if you were weighing the options here.
You couldn’t even ask his brothers for ideas, because they were all brand new to the concept of Life Day as well. That, and you didn’t really want to admit why you were so stressed out about what to get Crosshair. The things you had purchased for Hunter, Echo, Wrecker, Tech, and Omega were all simple and functional, nice things that you hoped they would be able to utilize in their daily lives but still would have never purchased for themselves. But in your mind, Crosshair’s gift had to be different, had to be perfect for him in a way that he would never forget.
You had first spoken to him a few months ago, after spending ages watching the stoic newcomer sit on the docks to watch the sun rise and set. Because fishing was your primary trade, the odd hours you kept made it so you crossed paths with him quite a few times, and eventually you mustered up the courage to greet him kindly and make sure that he knew he could come to you if he needed anything.
It took a few more interactions for you to really get through to him, but soon you were at the point where you considered him a friend. And since he would sometimes seek you out at random points in the day to talk or ask questions about whatever was troubling about his new way of life, you liked to think that he considered you a friend as well. And as you walked through Pabu’s open-air market, you could feel the pressure of getting the perfect gift only growing in your mind.
Some of the options were purely functional, and that was an option, but you weren’t sure if that would really communicate to him what you were trying to get across. Some things were purely aesthetic, and as much as you believed that he deserved to own nice things, you weren’t sure if he would want those either. Earlier this year you had given a home decoration to Hunter just because you thought he and Omega would like it, and it took a moment for him to really understand what the purpose of it was. Crosshair seemed like the type of person who might value something more if it was some combination of pretty and useful. But even then, what should you get him?
A fishing rod would be functional, but would he enjoy it? You enjoyed fishing, but of course there were certainly people on the island whose skills and interest lay in other areas, and maybe that was the case for Crosshair. His eyesight was keen, but what if he wanted to move away from that kind of activity and start something more artistic?
You passed by all sorts of trinkets and treasures, wondering the whole time about what he might want, when eventually you laid eyes on a simple black bag. It looked unassuming at first, similar to the satchel you had purchased for Echo, but a smile crossed your face when you saw what was inside.
A deep blue blanket, made of the softest material you’ve ever felt, appeared in your vision, and you instantly knew that this was a perfect gift. Yeah, maybe it wasn’t as useful as the things you had for his brothers, but there was no doubt in your mind that he deserved it. You’ve been to the house where they were staying, you knew that Crosshair had taken to sleeping on the couch (despite the fact that his brothers always offered to procure a bed for him), and maybe this would help make that experience just a little more comfortable. You could see that he sometimes struggled to allow himself simple comforts, and maybe if you handed one directly to him, he would be more apt to relax.
After talking with the seller and purchasing the blanket, you walked back to your home, content in the fact that you were going to (hopefully) play in important role in making sure that Crosshair’s first Life Day was as wonderful as it should be.
***
Despite its origins as a Wookie holiday, the people of Pabu always went all out when it came to Life Day, especially in the last few years. It was a source of happiness in a time where things often looked bleak, and spending time with one’s loved ones while sharing gifts and a meal certainly helped stave off some of the mounting dread about the Empire’s growing reach and inevitable dominion.
And this year, you had certainly gone all out. Anything you could put on the walls to make the inside of your home brighter, you did. By the time the Bad Batch were knocking on your door, you had put up so many sparkly decorations that you wondered if you would be blinding them as they arrived.
But of course, it was all worth it to see the reaction you got from Omega as she stepped inside. “Wow! This is amazing!”
She raced over to you, and you gave her a hug. “I know, right? And this isn’t even the best part!”
Her eyes got wider, something you didn’t even think was possible. “Really?”
You nodded, telling her to wait right there while you got something from another room. Gift usually came around after the meal was finished, but sometimes traditions were made to be broken.
The rest of the Batch had just finished settling down in your living room as you stepped back into the room, arms laden with bags and wrapped gifts. “I have something for all of you.”
Echo’s eyes grew wide. “What?”
“Part of Life Day is giving presents,” you said brightly. “And I wanted to make sure you guys got the whole experience.”
“But we didn’t get you anything,” said Omega, and you could see worry start to form in her eyes.
“I don’t mind,” you said. “But I’ve always liked giving gifts better anyway.”
You could see most of that worry evaporate from her face, and you handed out the bags and boxes to each of the recipients. You watched with a smile on your face as everyone opened their gifts, and you were overjoyed knowing that everyone liked them. Omega gave you a big hug as she opened the small fishing rod, because she had been begging you to teach her to fish for some time, and she couldn’t stop hugging the small plush creature you had wrapped alongside it.
You watched Crosshair out of the corner of your eye, wanting to see his reaction when he opened the blanket, and your nerves were soothed as you watched him smile when he took the blanket out of the bag. He didn’t put it down, and you really hoped that meant you had picked the right gift for him.
Hunter, Tech, and Echo refused to let you finish cooking the meal (which you weren’t really complaining about), and Wrecker was playing with Omega somewhere outside, which meant that you and Crosshair were by yourselves in your living room. As you sat next to him on the couch, you wondered if you were going to be the one to speak first, and what you would even say.
But surprisingly, he was the one who broke the silence. “Thank you, for all the gifts.”
“You all deserve to have a nice Life Day,” you said. “And I hope I succeeded in making that happen.”
“You certainly did,” he said softly. “I don’t think I can ever repay you for the kindness you’ve shown me since I arrived.”
“I don’t need to be repaid,” you responded. “You will always deserve kindness Crosshair, no matter what you think about yourself.” Your words were a little more personal than usual, but you had talked to Hunter enough about his past, and seen him out in the middle of the night too many times to not realize what was going through his head sometimes.
If he was surprised about what you said, he hid it well. “Thank you,” he said, and you knew that this tiny gesture was coming from a place of sincerity. He fluffed the blanket out so that it covered both of you, and you couldn’t help but smile at the way he couldn't stop running his fingers across the soft material.
You didn’t need a confession of love or some kind of grand gesture from him, especially not when he was still working on healing his own troubles and adjusting to his new life. The smile on his face and the clear happiness he was feeling was worth so much more to you anyway.
Maybe things would change between you in the near future, but at this moment in time, you couldn’t help but believe that you were exactly where you’re supposed to be.

🍒Venus sign observations part 2🍒
Tumblr media
Gemini Venus I know you guys are closet romantics, you love all that romantic shit just won’t admit it. The kisses, hugs, hand holding, the thought out gifts, the corniest compliments that would make anyone else wanna gag, you may move from person to person but that’s just because you constantly need to be mentally stimulated as you’re ruled by Mercury, it’s funny because you’re “picky” but the people you choose are usually guys/girls people don’t expect you to pick because it doesn’t matter if they’re less attractive than you you’re just more picky personality wise. Also you’re closet has the most random aesthetic clothing, you like to try out all styles.
Libra Venus okay since this is its planet ruler along with taurus I see taurus being more of a luxurious aesthetic while libra usually tends to go with the trends, tiktok must have a libra venus because y’all see anyone wear anything and role with it, but as for your love style you guys loves to be flirty just for fun, kinda like Aries except they like to be chased rather than chase themselves, very feminine venus reminds of “the girl next door” type vibes, warm and kind energy.
Scorpio venus WOMEN WITH THIS VENUS ARE SO FINE and magnetic even the men, it’s like on the outside say you have a air or earth sign sun making you seem calm and collected but being around you I can just feel there’s more underneath, you exude mystery and it’s hard to FULLY get to know you, very possessive which personally I find attractive, you might be a little selfish but it’s just cause you don’t like to share what’s yours typically friends or romantic interests you get mad if they’re around certain people. Trust issues.
Cancer venus I know this one gets hate because they’re “emotional” but personally I think it’s cute sometimes you guys are so vulnerable and put your emotions out there so I don’t have to guess what it is you’re feeling, people with this can be very nurturing the type to buy you gifts or food when you’re sick and take care of you. Such warm energy and trust worthy but will not hesitate to fight anyone who hurts those they love.
Pisces venus I fucking love pisces and the rollercoaster of emotions you take me on, I don’t care how innocent this placement seems to appear because they’re “naive or delusional” half the time they’re the ones tricking you since they can mirror you so well you start to like them because they remind you of you, but this can be a very confusing placement as you’re constantly in the battle of taking people on and off the pedestal after any minor inconvenience, you guys are a little emotionally unavailable but mask it with you just have unrealistic standards, but the aesthetic is chefs kiss.
Sagittarius venus such a colorful closet, very extroverted, type to have the best fits at raves, might get confused for Leo’s just because of the confidence they exude, kinda intimidating ngl, they might love smoking 🍃 or doing psychedelics I’ve noticed but this is just such a fun person to be around it’s always an adventure with them, they’re sometimes pretty judgmental though I’ve noticed.
Tumblr media
Venus in the 5th house can SOMETIMES be a placement that screams red flag especially if they have like a fire sign mars, they may have a tendency to enjoy flings, temporary people in your life. But nonetheless very creative, interesting, and passionate even if it’s for a short while
Venus square ascendant during their younger years might be pretty insecure because they have a hard time seeing their own beauty even if they get a million compliments they’ll feel as if people are lying to them but eventually they’ll realize they’re hot and put themselves on a pedestal
Venus square mars you’re energies within are very confused because you’re constantly changing what it is you desire so if a person appeals to you one second when you wanted something when you want something different you’ll hate them it’s like people aren’t good enough for you because you yourself are confused on what you really want since you keep going back and forth mars is masculine and venus is feminine so you might like chasing then want to be chased and resent the person for already getting comfortable in the position of being chased by you. Love hate relationships for a reason
Venus in the 2nd house has amazing taste in clothing, aesthetics etc.
Venus in 7th house attracts pretty people :)
SYNASTRY
They’re not lying when they say if you want to be someone’s type then go for someone who’s venus falls in your 1st house bonus points if it’s conjunct
Venus conjunct descendant synastry the ascendant person likes the way Venus carries themselves in a relationship as it falls in their 7th house (whole signs) but sometimes the Venus person might find the ascendants sense of style unattractive or at least just not their type since it’s opposite to theirs
Venus in 12th house can make them confused or even unaware of your feelings for them as it’s in a house of things hidden

✧Xingqiu's victims friends✧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧Xingqiu✧-member of the literature club and in honors English, he's the second born son of the CEO of Feiyun Corp. He discovered his love and reading and writing at a young age. when he was 10 he wrote a fanfic as a joke but to his surprise it went viral. he forgot the account's password so he never got around to deleting it. comes off as an absolute gentleman, but he's actually a bit of a gremlin, he means well though.
Tumblr media
✧Chongyun✧-Not affiliated with any clubs, but is usually dragged along with whatever Xingqiu is interested in. Xingqiu moved into his neighborhood and found chongyun at their local library reading about ghosts when they were six. Since then the two have been inseperable, and Xingqiu's helped Chongyun be more social. Though he never directly states it, he's really grateful for his friend.
Tumblr media
✧Xiangling✧-President of the cooking club, her father owns a famous restaurant where she works part time. Her and Xingqiu met in elementary school when she gave him one of her strange original recipes. Her recipes may sound disgusting, but they're actually pretty good (except for the slime smoothies, those are an acquired taste)
Tumblr media
✧Hu Tao✧-member of the science club (only attends meetings that involve dissecting things though). Her family owns a funeral parlor that she frequently advertises, she often stops people in the hallway telling them that she can hook them up with a free closet. Xingqiu met her when she offered to help out with his pet fish's funeral when they were kids. She might seem a little eccentric at first (she is) but at the end of the day, she's a true friend.
Tumblr media
✧Yanfei✧-member of the debate club. Her father is an attorney, and he taught her about laws and court rules. She knows the law like the back of her hand, and she's also great at finding loopholes within the law. She's helped her friends (only mainly Hu Tao) out of the Principal's office on numerous occasions, but she's also really great at winning arguments. Long story short, don't mess with yanfei

Hi!
Just came to ask on an issue I've ran into regarding neography.
People in my circle of conlangers/worldbuilders/neographists say that what I do isn't right and is not to be considered neography - here's what I did:
I made over 500 neographies made since the creation of my Reddit account last year, all documented on @thecrazyneographist
And while some of them are seen as cool and all, most are trash bullshit I throw at the wall waiting for something to stick. I literally have diamonds laying under heaps of crap.
I love neographying, this is out of question. But I, despite making a couple WIPs, cannot make a conlang for every script aesthetic I come up with, thus, 90% of my works are just English ciphers (and a devastating part of them are alphabets).
Question:
Am I a valid neographist if most of my creations are nothing more than "children-level ciphers" for English, or not? No matter the answer I will continue making them because that's what I like to do.
Thanks in advance.
Hey, sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, but there are a lot of issues in here, and I wanted to tease them apart, so I can be quite clear on each one.
First, "I am a valid x", where x refers to some sort of artist, is always kind of a sad question to me, because those who ask it are undoubtedly asking it as a result of one kind of gatekeeping or another. For example, fanfic authors who ask "Am I real writer?" are undoubtedly asking it because someone (or several someones) have told them that they're not because all they write is fanfic. There are often a set of assumptions that come with the definition of a given art, such that the belief is if you haven't fulfilled certain criteria, you can't claim to be an artist in that field. For me, I think the definition is rather simpler.
In any artistic field, you qualify as that type of artist if you attempt that type of art. Notice I didn't say finish. This is especially clear for conlangs, as no conlang is finished. If the criteria for being a conlanger is having one finished conlang then there are no conlangers, and there never have been. There's no such thing as a finished conlang. There is such a thing as a finished painting, though, but I don't think you have to have finished a painting to be a painter. You need to be working at, but you don't need to have finished anything.
This doesn't mean that anyone is an anything. For example, to be a novelist, you have to be in the process of writing at least one novel. If all you've ever written is short stories, you're not a novelist. You are a writer, though.
For a neographer (or orthographer or conscriptor or whatever term is in vogue), all you have to do is attempt to create one conscript. That is the only criterion that needs to be satisfied. You've done that in spades, so you are a valid neographer.
Now, when it comes to an invented script, there are a number of elements involved—or that may be involved. They are as follows:
A unique set of glyphs (i.e. letterforms that are crucially different from any other glyphs in any other script—at least partially).
A unique flow (i.e how the glyphs look when lined up to make wordforms).
A specific instantiation or presentation (e.g. the Roman script has a unique set of glyphs and a unique flow, but in presenting a script, Copperlate looks different from Arial, Times, Palatino, Verdana, etc. Each one is a specific presentation or font face or style).
A unique assignment to a set of sounds and/or words/concepts.
Each of these involve artistic decisions, and they all can be assigned different levels of importance/interest. The fourth bullet above seems to be where unhelpful people in your circle are complaining. That is, one thing to do with a script is assign it to, say, the English version of the Roman alphabet. This is a cipher. Here's an example that's used on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland:
Tumblr media
Let's evaluate this based on the criteria above:
There are a unique set of glyphs—kind of. However, if you kind of stand back and evaluate, you'll see that in fact, every letter is a stylized variant of a letter in the Roman alphabet—with, perhaps, the slight exception of I, which looks like a stylized eye (because this is for Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. It's a theme). So, actually, it's not super unique. Additionally, making each vowel glyph red is rather silly.
When written together, the script has a unique flow, but that flow is actually pretty poor. It's a bit like writing in all caps in English, but even all caps Roman has a better balance than this script. It's honestly kind of tiresome looking at this script on the wall. For an alphabet, the characters aren't distinct enough, so it gets poor marks there.
The style of the swooshes/wedges/talons is nice, for the most part (I and U cause me to raise an eyebrow—O, too). The distinction between the very short wedges (as in A, B, and N) and the dots (as in J, L, and M), and the few characters with an even smaller dot (E, X, S, and Y) is, frankly, baffling. Additionally, sometimes the wedges are balanced nicely (A and N are great examples), and sometimes they're way too close (cf. B and Z). While the line work is clean, this honestly even the best version of this style of this script, which is unfortunate, to say the least.
This is a straight-up English cipher. That can only be evaluated based on the goals of the script designer. If the script creator is doing it for fun, then there's nothing to say. That's their choice. If this were done for an Indiana Jones movie or television show, I'd cry foul (cf. Star Wars and their incredibly lazy work). However, this is for a ride. The intended level of interaction for this script is for fans who are standing in line anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours, depending on the time of year and time of day. There are actual messages written in this writing system that fans are supposed to decode. Given the time allotted, I think a cipher—and, in fact, a cipher that can be somewhat easily deciphered—was the right way to go. It's either do a cipher so park goers can actually read the messages without working at it beforehand and have some fun as they're waiting in line, or go all-out stylewise with the expectation that NO rider will ever figure out what's been written.
That's how a script needs to be evaluated. Sometimes purpose overrides style; sometimes not. It totally depends.
It SHOULD go without saying that if you're doing this for your own purposes, then no one can say shit about its intended purpose, or lack thereof. I always thought that in fora like r/neography posters share their script for the look of it, unless they say otherwise. There's both positives and negatives to that. Sometimes the way a script is used makes it cool, so presented without that background renders the script a bit less interesting, but other times, as with your scripts, it should be rather freeing. That is, it doesn't matter if the script is a cipher, is for a conlang, or is asemic: The question is, does it look good? If it does, it shouldn't matter what the hell it's for.
I've looked at your scriptwork here, and I've also seen it on r/neography before. Yes, some of it's a little sloppy, some of it's a little basic (i.e. variation on a theme without thought to how the system as a whole hangs together), and the presentation of some of it could use polishing, but a lot of it is quite interesting, quite striking, and presented quite well. Given the volume of work you've done, it's not surprising that some of it isn't as interesting, but by percentage, your work, on the whole, is outstanding. I honestly never noticed they were ciphers because it's, frankly, totally irrelevant. It'd be like going to an art exhibition and complaining that the titles of all the paintings start with the letter s. lol Like who gives af. That level of criticism is uncalled for and plain silly. Unless someone posts and says, "What do you think about this writing system that I created for a conlang?", I don't see the relevance of commenting on how the script ties to a phonology.
I would also like to take a moment to comment specifically on r/neography. I've frequented there for some time now, and I've seen a lot of good work, but the percentage of good work to bad work (or even relevant work) is extremely low. This is why I say so:
My biggest complaint is there are a metric ton of posts that are Romanization systems or Cyrillicization systems or the like. There is absolutely nothing ne about that ography. I joined that subreddit to see some NEW scripts, not already existing ones assigned to some phonology. There can be interesting discussions about that, sure, and I'm happy to see those types of discussions if I go to a forum specifically for those discussions. A place that purports to be about creating new scripts is not that place—period. If I were a mod, I would ban all of those posts as wholly irrelevant—and yet it is the majority of posts there on any given day.
The presentation of scripts is often abysmal. I mean ABYSMAL. For example, take an English-speaking preschooler writing their name. That's an example of the Roman script. Now imagine presenting that—and only that—as an example of the Roman script, which the viewer has never seen before. What would you say about that? I mean, it looks like garbage. You can't evaluate a writing system if it looks like it's written with one's offhand on a crowded train. And yet that is precisely the type of work that is OFTEN presented there. How can anyone expect to have their script evaluated if the way they present it makes it look like someone tried to handwrite "happy birthday" on a card but started too close to the edge? It's embarrassing—or should be, anyway. I couldn't imagine presenting my own work like that to anyone for critique or showcasing.
The scriptwork itself is often poor. Honestly, there's nothing much to say about this. I rarely comment there, because sometimes the most helpful comment I can think of is, "Maybe creating conscripts isn't for you", which is not a comment worth sharing. Part of it is talent, but part of it is patience and knowing (a) what makes a good glyph, and (b) what makes a good flow for your glyphs. A lot of it is subjective, but "subjective" means that there will be some scripts that 90% of viewers will think is subjectively good; some that 60% will think is "good"; some 20%... So even though it's subjective, it doesn't mean that every single script is equal. There's a lot of room for improvement.
Because of the above, the kind of feedback you get at a place like r/neography is, frankly, suspect, and often not worth the effort it took to type. For my own stuff, I respect the opinions of people whose work I respect. If I don't respect someone's script work, their criticism is worthless. For your own work, I'd recommend you adopt a similar approach.
Finally, I'd like to applaud you for the very last thing you wrote—that you were set to continue whatever I wrote. Because if you enjoy it, you should keep at it. There's no other reason to do it.
Thanks for the ask, and keep it up!

Have you seen The Amazing Digital Circus yet?
If so, what's your opinion on it?
I LOVE TADC! It’s my favorite indie show at the moment! There’s just so much I like about it but my main ones are
1. The setting and execution being unique. A horror-like project taking place in an late 90s/early 2000s digital game is not a new idea and same goes with characters being stuck in a purgatory however it’s how the artists reinvent those idea that makes it new. The digital Circus made its own aesthetic that makes it stand out from other projects with similar concepts and designs. When I first watched the pilot, one of many things that stuck out to me was how new the story ideas felt. I couldn’t think of any other pieces of media similar to TADC beside for surface-level comparisons. The TADC created its own aesthetic and knows what it wants to be and I like it!
2. Soundtrack. Speaks for itself, the soundtrack for the pilot is so good especially Your New Home. That song is very catchy and emotional too. It has such a unique melody, everytime you hear the first few notes you instantly recognize it. It does a great job highlighting the dread and existentialism crisis of Pomni’s situation. I recommend to give it a listen if you haven’t.
3. The characters dynamics. I just love how the characters interact with each other. The majority of the jokes comes from characters’ interactions and dynamics and how well everyone plays off of each other. The best example is Jax with everyone, Jax is a funny jerk who likes bullying his peers. It’s funny to see what creative ways Jax will bully the other people whether it’s being sarcastic and making quips at them, or though goofy pranks and how the characters react because of their contrast in personality. Every character beside Jax is openly stressed or worried in someway while Jax, at first seem like a chill layback dude.
4. The characters differences. I adored the differences between each character from how they talk to their poses. After watching HH and HB, I learned to have an appreciation for character differences. It’s just refreshing to see characters allowed to be different instead of the same tired reused tropes and repeating the same type of dialogue again for every character.
5. Mystery and lore. There is so much to explore in the pilot, it’s make you wanting more. When going in to watch the pilot, I made the mistake of thinking the series will be predictable. I didn’t see how they could make this premise work because by the end of it, Pomni will go insane but then I watched the pilot and was speechless. The pilot does a good job setting up questions for the audience to ask. If Caine lied about the exit, what are other things did he lied about? How long has the cast been stuck in the circus? Who are these people? Are they previous game developers? Who were they in their previous lives? What is the company’s motivation to create the headset? What are the abstractions in game? Are they viruses to the game program? Who were the former cast? What horrors has Kinger seen to be as paranoid and easily frighten as he is now? Do the abstractions still have a consciousness? You just want to find out more about the lore to solve the many mysteries in the show. I find it impressive Gooseworx was able to stir up the theorists because they have admitted in an ask, there are already theories floating around that are almost right about the show.
One problem I did have for the pilot were the scenes containing the Gloink Queen. The pacing of the pilot was fine until we got to her then it was slow. I feel it dragged longer than it needed too but beside that, my issues for the pilot ends.
I can’t speak for the fandom on other platforms but the tumblr one is great! Most of the time everyone is being respectful towards each other and I love seeing what creative theories, AU, fanfics, and art the fans created. The only people causing drama are the anti-shippers, and it’s just dumb. All of the cast are adults, if age gaps ships makes people uncomfortable, that’s valid but they shouldn’t make it into other people’s problems. Gooseworx themselves admitted they don’t care for romance and they don’t want fans in the fandom getting harassed over shipping.
Overall despite what issues I had for the pilot and fandom, they’re overshadowed by the positives and I can’t wait to see the full show and the fandom’s growth.
#꧁rambles꧂#➥asks#the amazing digital circus#The TADC is the indie show and fandom I needed#After a year of critiquing Viv and her shows and being a fandom as toxic as HH & HB I just needed a break#I’m still active as you can see but barely posting and critiquing the shows anymore#I do check the critical tags every now and again to catch up and I’m just not interested in consuming any Viv’s content anymore#The last Ep I saw from HB was Unhappy Campers and the last video related to HH was the Happy Day in Hell one#I kinda don’t see the point of being very active on my HH amounts when I’m no longer watching Viv and I think everything to Viv is regressi#Viv is getting more careless about how she presents herself online and people are starting to noticed how much of an ass she really is#responding on a funny shitpost of “If the TADC was written by Viv” lightly making fun of her and she blew up once again#I’ve seen creators with a decent size following in other platform not just Twitter called her out and Viv and the fandom is be the-#reasons why Hazbin will fail#Her fandoms are notorious for being toxic/ fans going out of their way to attack not just haters but anyone who doesn’t praise Viv 24/7#Viv is actively creating toxic environment in her fanbases so she can protect herself from criticism and allegations behind her fans#But because of this Viv is contributing to the future downfall of Hazbin because no one wants to be associated with her because of her fanb#There’s just no reason to stay around#If the reaction to the Prime’s video Happy Day in Hell from outsiders is mixed then the reaction will be too for the full release#Plus the general attitude towards Viv has changed over the last three years#Despite her previous controversies she was see as a respectful creator but now views are mixed#People see her as the indie creator whose show took a nose drive in season 2/doesn’t pay her employees/is immature/and is now seen in a-#more negative light

Some astro observations !!
For Nakshatras:
These are based on the people around me and some celebrities , these aren't facts just research data and observations .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌀Most spiritual people have vishakha and revati placements .
🌀Ashwinis have deep connections with their parents , they also might be the one to have the ability to communicate with their twin , if they have a premature death .
🌀Revati moon men may come off as childish or self absorbed but they are very in tune with their emotions and are simply introverts .
🌀Punarvasu Men and Uttara Bhadrapada men are the type to be devotional when in love , they see love as a sacred act .
🌀Purva Bhadrapada natives undergo many turmoils in life , in which their darksides subtly show , they may also have problems with their family , their family members may label themselves as detached when they themselves are fighting a war among themselves . At a point this may let to outbursts of anger and frustration but if they overcome that it leads to further being peaceful .
🌀Shatabhisha Mercuries have unique voices .
🌀Ashlesha ketu are the type to use relationships and breakup for their creative endeavours .
🌀Mrigashira ketu is the placement for modern day popstars like Miley Cyrus , selena gomez , Zayn Malik etc .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌀Purva Ashadhas are the most honest people I've met, it literally pains in their brains to lie .
🌀Vishakha placements tend to hold a lot of toxicity inside themselves , they might brush off something they feel isn't right only to realise later that they should've acknowledged it .
🌀Ashwini mars makes one hyperactive , you may start a certain task but lack the ability to complete it .
🌀Pushya is the most feminine Nakshatra .
🌀Uttara Ashadha denotes delayed but complete success that stays for a long time .
🌀 Ashleasha seems to be the Nakshatra that is most talked about .
🌀Krittika Nakshatra natives are perfectionists , they have the ability for precision.
🌀Shatabhisha natives are one of those who probably would not be hypnotized by the Ashleasha charm , would rather appreciate and acknowledge it as the deity of shatabhisha varuna is shown holding a snake sometimes.
🌀Rohini's are very keen on purity and cleanliness
🌀Rohini's can cultivate deep relationships with some people that would last a long time. The deity associated with their planet moon i.e. Soma (the consort) also gives them the elixir of life , they have a fine balance between emotions and intellect.
🌀Jupiterian woman initially crave for men , but at a point of their lives they come to realise that they are better off without them , they may become some of the most independent woman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌀Purva Phalguni's mostly like dolleta or coquette aesthetics .
🌀Maghas look the best in black and have had an emo phase .
🌀Having many Swati placements may have an otherworldly effect on the native , or they would like to always be with themselves imagining doing things .
🌀Vishakha ketu may also have a scheme of having issues with their children in their past life .
🌀If one can pass the themes of destruction of Purva bhadrapada they can achieve Nirvana in the particular life itself .
🌀Though Ashwini and Shatabhisha both can signify an occupation in the medical field , but Ashwinis can go for any sub field they're interested in , but when it comes to shatabhisha , since they're easily bored , surgery or research in medical field seems more comfortable for them.

Thank you for reading 🤍
Have a great day/night 💫.

@girlmaturin tagged me! What were my six favourite books of 2023?
This is going to be a difficult one. First of all because I appreciate books for different reasons, it can be because I learned a lot, because it made me think about new things even though (or because of the fact) that it made me uncomfortable, or simply because it fits my aesthetic or thematic tastes. It wouldn’t be fair to pit completely different books against each other, but I’ll try to do what I can!
There’s also the fact that this is the year that I’ve read the most books in my life since I started counting them. Maybe not 100 but 96! You can laugh at me, but to be fair a lot of these were short books, or essays or short stories that I saved as an e-book and counted independently. I’ve been reading a lot of older books that I had at home or bought secondhand and it really makes me think that contemporary books are so big! It used to be normal to find lots of books that were 100-190 pages long about a specific topic or just because the author wanted to type out their thoughts. I don’t know how much the cost of publishing has increased, but it seems as if every book has to be definitive and huge in order to justify the expense.
1) The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe
I’m counting this as a book since I found it as an e-book on Project Gutenberg. I was a child the first time that I read it, so a lot of the implications went over my head. This time around I was fascinated by how it synthesises the ideas of the epoch—the insularity of the upper classes in a time of increased social mobility (Poe was, after all, an American) countered with eugenic fears of fixing unfavourable traits into a bloodline through repeated inbreeding. It’s fascinating that the text lays it out so clearly. There’s this line that stuck to me, about how the house of Usher never allowed any branches to grow too far from the trunk of the tree, and then there was this part when Roderick Usher describes the psychological traits that afflict the family—I say afflict because they are disturbing to him—not as a result of the circumstances of their lives, but a part of their inborn nature. It brought to mind the way that Vincent van Gogh described his depression to his brother, who also suffered from it. “The root of the evil lies in the constitution,” that is how I remember it, though I could be wrong because it was in translation and it has been quite a while since I read about the subject. It reminded me of that, and how people describe dogs with behavioural issues caused by poor breeding.
Anyway, a little insect encased in amber for the neuroses of an age!
2) The Silver Metal Lover by Tanith Lee
A sheltered girl falls in love with a realistic robot—you would expect a pulpy romance novel but this was so much more than that to me.
It’s a story about a girl that has been sheltered all her life and does not realise that she is being abused by her mother, who controls every aspect of her life by making her feel that she is too innocent, too stupid to make a choice even with such personal things as her interests or her physical appearance. There were some mean-spirited interpretations of this little book, calling it a poor littlen rich girl story. But rich girls can cry too!
But besides, the heart of the situation, beyond all the fantastic, futuristic aspects, is one that can happen to anyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
One thing that I like very much about Tanith Lee is her ability to join different genres and settings. For example, in this one she described economic inequality and labour issues caused by automatisation and at the same time had the socialite characters talk in a droll, misogynistic manner that is right out of Saki. But writing this review I realise that these are not elements that are discordant with each other, though superficially they appear to be. Of the popular writers I have read she is one of those who best understands that the long 19th century may well be even longer—ha-ha, historians, don’t kill me!
I found it funny to be reading this book at the height of the AI-debate, as one of its main plot points was the fear that artists had of being replaced by machines that could “create” new and better works from the wealth of artworks that had been made by human artists before. I’ll probably remember that, if I live long enough to see what happens later.
3) Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire, edited by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, and Mike Merryman-Lotze
Before this year I hadn’t read any books by Palestinian authors, so when I saw that this book was being shared freely and that it had some names that I already recognised I thought it would be a good place to start.
The fact that so many people contributed to it was the main reason that I chose it, there are so many different points of view, everyone emphasises a different part of life in Gaza, their experiences with their family, their work, their fields of expertise. There’s university professor who describes not only the subject matter of his lessons, but also the difficulties faced by students whose classrooms and study materials can be destroyed at any moment. The architect talks about the settlement pattern in Gaza, and how families prefer to construct their own homes in a way that the extended family may continue to reside together, though logistically it is not always possible to do so. The student provides a narrative of her daily routine, and how everyone must plan their day around the water and electricity shortages, and what difficulties this presents to cooking, cleaning and studying, activities that a lot of us take for granted. Most of the writers talk about the anger and frustration of having to deal with borders and checkpoints, the separation of family and friends for years and decades at a time across relatively short distances in the Palestinian Territories, in Israel and neighbouring countries, as well as the loss of opportunities abroad when people are impeded from leaving or fear that they might be prevented from returning.
Somebody said that it wasn’t right that Palestinians should always have to humanise themselves to the eyes of foreigners, hoping that we might care. I agree, because it is true that we should care for other human beings without having every detail of their suffering described to us. This book has sad parts, parts that are extremely frustrating, but it has moments of fun and happiness too. And the authors wanted people to read it and remember, and I want you to read it too.
The publisher has shared it for free download here.
4) When the Angels Left the Old Country by Sacha Lamb
I listened to the audiobook for this one on the Platform Formerly Known as Scribd and have ordered a physical version to have at home. I was so sad when it ended!
I loved reading about Little Ash and Uriel, a Jewish demon and angel who leave their shtetl when one of the girls from the village goes missing on her way to America. The research that went into it made me want to read more about the historical period in which it was set, and it didn’t stay a resolution—I did end up reading a book about Jewish life in the Russian Empire!
As an immigration story, it made sense that one of the tensest moments in the book was the medical examination by the immigration officials—sadly, in many countries the discrimination of sick and disabled people is still a real problem, though I hope that it will change in our lifetimes, as it did with racial quotas. It’s sold as a Young Adult book but adults would enjoy it too, as it deals with complex issues in an accessible manner but without leaving them flattened.
5) The Idiot by Elif Batuman
As a reader of Russian literature I’m surprised that I didn’t find this book earlier! It was really funny and cute and you could tell how young Selin was supposed to be in this story. Like when she imagines her crush to be like a love interest in a Russian book even though they’re in the 20th century and he’s a completely different type of Eastern European just because his name is very similar to Ivan! There’s a very funny scene also where she talks with a psychologist about her mostly online relationship with this person and he says “Hm… He reminds me of the Unabomber,” and she gets all defensive about it because there is a kernel of truth to it, he is posing as this edgy intellectual and she does not truly know who he is outside these characters they have created in their epistolary world.
I love the way Selin talks about her friends and the books she reads, Elif Batuman really captured what it’s like to be that age, and it was refreshing to read a book about a girl where horrible things don’t happen to her and she can continue learning and being herself.
6) El miedo en el Peru, siglos XVI al XX, edited by Claudia Rosas Lauro
A series of academic articles about fear in Peru in the 16th to 20th centuries. What people were afraid of and what were the social, cultural, religious and political reasons that they might be afraid of a particular thing.
I am adding this to the list because of one specific article—it is introduced as being about the fear of one’s parents, but in particular it talks about a number of legal cases where people were attempting to leave monastic orders claiming to have been made to join under duress—either because they were underage at the time of their vows, or because they had been threatened with physical violence by their relatives, often their parents. I found it interesting, there is a clear parallel between being forced to join a monastic order and entering an unwanted marriage. The arguments that can be used are the same, that the person was too young to meaningfully consent, or only accepted to preserve a degree of bodily integrity. Many of these victims had been threatened, even with death, because the parents wished for their properties to pass on to another one of their relatives. Having taken a vow of poverty, a monk would no longer be entitled to it. It also happened sometimes that these young men would join a monastic order to escape violence in the home. There were other cases where it wasn’t a relative, but rather a priest or another religious authority that convinced a young person that he should take monastic vows, while being too young to understand them or not having received a proper explanation of the terms.
There were other cool articles, such as the one where the fear of piracy overlapped with the fear of heresy because most of the pirates that accosted the Spanish Empire were Protestants from Great Britain or the Netherlands, or the one about the people who chose or were made to starve to death under siege because of Royalist propaganda about the Republican army’s brutality.
This came out rather long… Because I haven’t been typing it directly on the computer where there are so many distractions. I ordered myself an AlphaSmart 3000 over the holidays, it’s an electronic typewriter that you can plug into your computer to transfer what you’ve written before. It’s very pleasant to type in, and it’s also satisfying to see how the letters appear on the word processor when the device transfers the text, it emulates a keyboard so it looks as if it were typing in real time. Don’t worry, I’m not being paid to advertise for a company that no longer exists. If people with similar tastes to mine found it fun or useful I thought I may as well try it out. So far I’ve written a story on this and half-way typed up a draft of a much longer one. Just make sure that if you use different languages on your computer that it’s configured to the English keyboard when you transfer text, otherwise strange symbols may appear!
I’m tagging @bacchanalium, @sifilide, @tetrachromate, @osmanthusoolong, @bogfox and @sherbertilluminated if they want to!

To all fictives, factives, and introjects...
If you struggle with discomfort with doubles who are different from you, or with your source being different, that is an understandable reaction - someone who looks like you, has the same name, maybe even acts like you, having such fundamental differences can be startling, and if you have had issues with your identity, it may even feel threatening to you.
That being said, it is very unpleasant, especially if your system is active in your source's fandom or if you've been looking for sourcemates. It can also be very inconvenient. I really struggle with this. I avoid the "me" side of fandom, and I mute servers that have doubles in them, even though I feel I really ought to be more comfortable with them.
With all this in mind, here are some things that may help you.
You are you, and nobody else can change that.
If your existence is spiritual/metaphysical in nature, remember that there are infinite universes in which anything can happen.
If your existence is psychological in nature, different systems have different interpretations of characters, and that absolutely can affect what traits they were introjected with.
While I do not agree with 'you are not your source, you are a psychological construct made for [x] purpose', I do think it is healthy to have some degree of source separation, if possible. If it does not work for you, then it does not work for you, but I think it helps to be able to look at your source character/person and say "That is not exactly me, but I am a lot like them." Perhaps even, "That is the template from which I was created".
Most importantly: you are you, and nobody else can change that.
The most useful part of the post is over, but I have included some personal anecdotes below the cut if anybody is interested.
Let us look at two cases of this from our system - Hunter and myself.
Hunter is sourced from The Owl House. He is very strongly aroace and was incredibly uncomfortable when a new popular ship involving him and another character arose. It quickly became one of the "default" ships of the fandom, almost as popular as Lumity. He stayed around, but did not go anywhere near front very often. Recently, though, we have been able to contact him in our headspace. He now has antlers, and is now living his life as a forest elf, instead of what he was before. In his case, he found it helpful to distance himself strongly from canon. He is who he is, and he embraced new aspects of himself so he could feel more like himself. Because of how extreme his reaction was, we have stopped watching the Owl House and stopped engaging with the fandom, but we are still taking steps to help him distance himself. He seems to be doing quite well now!
Now, for myself. In canon, my source character is a presumably cisgender man using he/him pronouns. The way I am was actually affected by fandom - I am fairly sure that the amount of nonbinary headcanons influenced my gender as I formed. There are a great deal of headcanons and ships involving my source character, most of which I do not follow. I am a human, not a Zoroark, and I did not have any romantic relationships. I have found it hard to accept that just as character interpretations influenced my gender, different character interpretations have influenced other aspects of those with the same source character. There is a primal negative reaction when I see someone who looks like me, and has the same name as me, with similar aesthetics, who is very much not me despite everything. It is something I hope to lessen, and eventually get over. (In all honesty, I am mostly writing this post for my own sake.)
Separation is hard, and does not come naturally to us. We, as fictives of Team Sieben, are not the types who can read fanfiction and headcanons while feeling fine and unthreatened by other people perceiving us in a way we do not control. I wrote this post in hopes to build that skill. Maybe I will never be able to post art of myself and label it as 'fanart' without feeling nervous and wrong, but I hope I will at least be able to engage with fictives who are different interpretations and different versions of my source character.

Are Hearttypes/Synpaths *really* taken as seriously as Kintypes?
I’ve been having a lot of thoughts about my alterhumanity for a while, and a big question that comes up is “am I otherkin, or otherhearted?”  The muddly struggle of sorting out “ID with vs. ID as” makes up the meat of this conundrum, and could merit several posts on its own, but another facet of the issue is quite notably one less-possibly-subjective thing: how the community seems to present and identify otherheartedness.
It’s been brought up numerous times how nonhuman experiences outside of ’kin and theriotypy are horribly underrepresented; even resources for non-spiritual individuals within those communities are woefully scarce.  If you’re copinglink, a synpath, or even just don’t have memories from your ’type, you’re going to have a hell of a lot harder a time finding community, resources, and-- most tragically-- firsthand accounts of what it’s like to be any of those things.
You may have noticed, as I have, that most of what could be argued to be the “big name” bloggers on here who post informatives on otherheartedness, are also of an alterhuman identity that’s more talked about (therianthropy, fictionkin, daemon-having, etc.).  There’s nothing wrong with this, and I’m quite glad it gets talked about in-depth at all, but it’s rare to find experiences from people who are primarily otherhearted.  Go to the blog of anyone who’s both otherkin and otherhearted, and you can pretty much guarantee that their posts are 99% about kintypes, and that they mostly bring up their hearttype when asked specifically about otherheartedness, or they’re otherwise making an informative post about it.  Maybe they’ll reblog an aesthetic post once in a while, or show you some pictures of their hearttype they have hung up in their house.
In general, despite frequent and ardent claims as to otherwise, the vibe I pick up is that being otherhearted really isn’t as intense or personal as being ’kin.  It’s hard not to be a tad disheartened when I’m seeing somebody talk on about how being ’hearted is no less valid or powerful an alterhuman identity than ’kin, how it’s something that can most certainly mean wishing to be the thing and that it’s a lot more than just liking or relating to it... only for them to turn around and describe their own otherhearted experiences in detail, and speak at length at how it’d feel alien and improper for them to be the Thing, how in their life, despite degree of alleged connectedness, it kind of does wind up manifesting as a thing they like a lot, how they totally can’t see themselves being the Thing even if they have shifts of it or consider it something they have a non-’kin kinship with. The “with vs. as” confuddle makes a strong return in the issue here, but the strong emphasis on the “you are not, would not be this thing on any level”, despite sometimes including “feeling like you should be the thing” being listed as a frequent symptom of ’heartedness gets a little... I don’t know what it gets, but it doesn’t feel very nice, and it makes it feel like it’s less the right ID for me.
Outside a few scattered and small posts, you don’t see many folks talking about trying to behave more as their hearttype, or look more like it.  Lots of talk about feeling a strong connection to and fondness for them, but much less in terms or desire to do things like acquire gear, find others of similar types... less talk of longing and existential dysphoria, especially if the poster is already otherkin (notice how if you go into the otherhearted tag, how many of the posts are tagged also with a specific kintype. I know experiences can overlap, but do notice this). On one claw, it makes sense.  After all, if your hearttype is a dragon, why try and present as a dragon or mope over not being one if you already know that you’re truly a wolf?  But that’s exactly the thing I’m pointing at here.  It’s not taken as seriously or personally as part of one’s nonhuman identity.  I can’t read minds and hearts, so I can’t say how closely one may or may not hold their hearttypes to who they are and how they are, but that’s how it comes across to me.
I get very much pensive over how my personal experiences and feelings seem to stagger haphazardly somewhere between what defines “otherkin” and “otherhearted”, and wonder if either of those is even the accurate term for me at all. Sometimes I wonder if there are entities out there who are truly otherhearted or other sorts of alterhuman, but call themselves ’kin because the general firsthand accounts of what ’heartedness is like to experience don’t sound personal or deep enough to match how they feel their own nonhumanity.  I really wonder.

I keep seeing comments by the same el/riels crying that Gwynriel's stole their atheistic. You mean the dark and light aesthetic used in hundreds of fantasy books? The one used for Feyre and Rhysand? It's the way they want to make Elriel a Feysand 2.0 so bad.
Look, the way I see it is, both Elain and Gwyn have a light to them but in different ways.
Elain's light is warm, it is the light of the sun, she thrives in daylight, IT IS CANON she needs sunshine, her light is yellow.
Gwyn's light is that of moonlight, it is cool, she thrives in the night, as do the shadows, her light is white, which is a one of the colors that is associated with Gwyn.
Also, I saw your anon who stated she knows El/riels who have not read ACOSF, and THIS IS SO TRUE. An acquaintance of mine refuses to read ACOSF and she is an El/riel.
Always, I always believed if Azriel were to have a long lasting HEALTHY relationship, it would be with a new character and my theory is so far proving to be on the money. I still believe Azriel has major issues he needs to resolve before he can be with anyone, both Elain and Gwyn deserve better than a male who is pinning after Mor. But knowing SJM's writing patterns she will resolve Azriel's feelings for Mor before she has him move on.
And if El/riels really cared for Elain ( I think they are more so obsessed over Azriel and use Elain as self-insert) they would see the potential in Lucien, who is a good man that would love her like no one else ever would, because he is her mate. Their connection is between their souls, at a biological level. The fact that it already snapped shows it is going to be epic once they get to truly know each other. Because, I totally agree with your other post. The reason we've not gotten into Elain's head is because it would be a dead giveaway for Elucien endgame and SJM is playing the longtime with those two.
Yes! I love when people see the difference in their lights because I see it too.
I think people also take the "light to dark" aesthetic too seriously in the case of ACOTAR characters.
Because Feyre is not a 100% sunshiny character to Rhysand's brooding darkness. Yes, Feyre is a bit more forgiving than Rhys and yes she has Helion's light to "banish" the darkness that Rhys has seen in the past 500+ years but they really aren't all that opposite.
Feyre and Rhys both share a viciousness and the willingness to do whatever needs to be done for the greater good (no matter if someone gets hurt along the way). Think about how Rhys was willing to allow Claire to die in place of Feyre. Think of how Feyre was willing to allow the innocent citizens of Spring suffer in order to take down Tamlin. Think of how both Rhys and Feyre were willing to make an enemy out of a good male in order to steal from him. She's not the "good / gentle" to his "bad / aggressive".
That's why Elain and Az will never be light and dark in an SJM book. Because they are TOO opposite for how SJM does the light / dark aesthetic.
Elain is bothered by cruelty, Az's job is the definitely of cruelty. Elain likes parties, Az likes his solitude. Elain doesn't want to be coddled or treated like a child, Az thinks she shouldn't go near anything dangerous. Elain is bright and craves Sunshine, based on canon, Az's shadows are scared of sunshine and are prone to vanish when Elain is around.
This isn't SJM telling us what a beautiful light / dark aesthetic they would make. This is SJM giving us all the red flags as to why they're too different to work.
But Gwyn is different. Her light (which does come off as a cool moonlight type of light) matches perfectly to Azriel's shadows. That is light and dark but in a complimentary way. She is also not at all bothered by cruelty and took pride in the fact that she led the beast to the Illyrians in the Rite. She seemed glad that Az slaughtered every single soldier without mercy. That is a Rhys / Feyre type of light which makes sense considering Rhys tells us Az is extremely like him. Which means if Feyre was Rhys's perfect match and Az is like him, then his perfect match needs to have a light and darkness to them like Feyre. We know that Elain is canonically VERY different from Feyre, especially with their "darker" sides. So it's there in black and white that Elain is not a match to Azriel. However, so many things point to Gwynriel's compatibility. They both like solitude, they're both competitive, they both show an interest in weapons, they both have a hero complex which makes them both extremely brave though sometimes a bit rash. It's not that they HAVE to be the ones to save the day so they can brag about it, there's just a part of them that feels they're not worthy unless they're doing more.
And she has never had an endgame couple get together until we know for a fact that they've finally let go of their past so I don't doubt we'll see him move on from Mor before he and Gwyn are romantically involved.

biography
tw: cheating ( between shinji's parents )
what is a legacy? is it something created of what happened in the past or can it be made someone's own by actions of the present? for shinji it's a mix of both. he's proud of his family's legacy but at the same time always wanted to mark his own in the history of the sōwakatsus. so while respectful to the legacy of his great-great-great grandfather, shinji also knew that with him on top, it'll turn into a different kind of legacy. one that remembers his actions above all else.
he has never known anything else as a child, he remembers how everyone respected his father, how they all lived lavishly, his father enjoyed the money most of all, the now former oyabun ruled with an iron fist, he openly cheated on shinji's mother with so many women that it felt normal. but he knew it hurt his mother, catching her more than one crying in the corner of her room while his father was out. she always reassured him, told him that it was her duty as the wife to always stand by her husband's side. a stupid excuse for a broken heart.
his father eventually died of old age, or maybe it was years upon years of smoking non-stop that finally brought him down. shinji was ready, ever since he was young he was prepared for the moment that he would take over his father as the head of the sōwakatsu-kai and shinji vowed to do things a little bit differently than the former oyabun.
maybe it was the trauma of his parents' relationship that made him have a distaste those himself, as he spend a lot of time sleeping around, no string attached. his heart couldn't even pretend to care about anybody he slept with, maybe he got that from his father — at least shinji didn't put a ring on their finger.
but what was it like to have an entire empire on his shoulder? it felt heavenly. whatever people felt sōwakatsu-kai, it didn't matter to shinji. they were powerful, people feared them and their enemies couldn't lift a finger against them, as much as he was sure he wanted to. maybe that's why shinji laughs at the threat of death.
wanted connection.
his complicated-ship — will be sent to the main at some point. i have two ideas for them one of them being that some point they were fiancés but shinji dropped it due to his commitment issues and second being is that they're a power-couple type married anyway when i land on one i'll sent it, for now here's example one and example two aesthetics of their relationship. either way this person is probably the only one shinji cares about romantically.
adoptive kid — the kid was adopted when they were around 11-13, and shinji was 30, they should be around 24-26 right now. will also be sent to the main at some point.
exes — shinji wasn't one for relationships. he never saw anyone he slept with as something more than that so mostly like your character thought they were a thing but shinji didn't see it that way. depending on the ex, it could be someone shinji spend money on ( since he has so much ), if it's a clan member, maybe a bodyguard. it could also be a drunken one night stand. there are a lot of options for exes!
seeking help — maybe your character needs help with w/e and seeks shinji out specifically?
blackmail — i'm down for a negative type-connection where shinji has something over your character and has you do his dirty work in return or maybe your character pays money for "protection" in return.
im literally down for any type of connection, pls hmu !!
