Design notes:

oooooh my god I'm so happy I finally got to draw the super tall monster high heels on someone!! Vil was by far, the character I had the most references saved for. I gotta say, the main inspiration to me was actually Vil's overblot form, probably my favorite design in game, mixing a bit of the religious references it had, I thought of a fallen angel for his scare-itage! I almost went with vampire, inspired on Elissabat's character, but I want to avoid as much as possible repeating the types of creatures the twst cast will be in this AU, and the vampire idea is reserved for a very obvious someone else from diasomnia!

The cons of having too many visual references and inspirations is that it's so difficult to choose only one outfit for the final version. I searched a lot of inspiration in drag, and the ones that clicked with my idea the most were some stuff Pabllo Vittar and Gottmik wore (I'm obssessed with them, you have no idea), if you squint you can see I loosely based Vil's makeup look on Gottmik's lol

There's also the two different patterns I made for Vil's dress. Neither of them were what I originally had in mind, turns out stained glass art is pretty difficult to replicate, but for now I judge these two look decent enough? I struggled to choose only one of them to put on the official character sheet, and I just went with the one on the right because it took longer for me to draw it 😭 you can consider both of them "canon" I guess? I don't think I have a preference between the two

Lore-wise I don't have any really relevant or detailed notes. Vil's personality and backstory pretty much remains the same, I think it fits in this universe as well. I could add to the story that the real reason he doesn't use his wings is because angels lose parts of their supernatural powers once they are cast out of heaven, but Vil prefers not to admit it. Also I think it would be fun if their actual angel form was one of those otherworldly cool burning wheels while this one is baisically just a cloak, for practicality, you know?

My guy Vox once again graced us with lovely Goyuu fanfics, and the way it follows you home, the stories i never told, made me go FERAL.

Time travel? Two Gojou Satorus? Double affection for our sunshine Yuuji? Yuuji sandwich? What feels like possible continuation of (you'll whisper, serpent tongue) what you fear you have become???

FUCK.

I need to stop indulging my imagination too much. I should’ve been content with writing long-ass comments but noooooo, my brain goes “you gotta draw it”. DAMMIT VOX, YOU AND YOUR DELICIOUS WRITINGS HHHHHH

So… usually I should’ve picked a favourite scene that is within my drawing capability, but I just… love all three chapters??? So I made a questionable time investment? I can’t stop??? Help???

This is probably the most ambitious fanart project I’ve ever done so far. Fair enough, considering I might combust if I keep these welled-up emotions inside from reading Vox’s Goyuu fics. Fuck.

Currently, it is 3 chapters out of 8. And it’s gonna be NSFW chapter 4 onwards, so don’t forget to read the tags first, folks!

The drawings are under Read More, because I have lots of thoughts surrounding each chapter and drawings. It’ll be hella long if I didn’t hide it here. It was a mess down there. A combination of hours before, during, and after I read said fic. I’d say good luck finding the art among the sea of jumbled words but… you’ll find them easily. Don’t worry about it haha

SPOILERS FOR ALL 3 CHAPTERS! I highly recommend reading those first before diving into these drawings!

Also for the comics, read from right to left please!

From here on, I will be referring to the Future!Gojou as Gojou and the teenage one as Satoru.

Overall, drawing all these is fun! Really fun! This project pushed me quite hard, forcing me to test my limit (because I rarely draw this much back to back). Since this is a combination of drawings and comics, the coloring style will not be consistent. In a way, I want to try some brushes I never get to use, as well as try out my new graphic tablet. Drawing these got me giggling because I was finally able to let loose during line art. It's much easier to do so, and sometimes I just get to reread the fic and giggle to myself for the nth time.

CHAPTER 1:

Whooo. Whooooooooo—

Ok, ok, the premise is just that good. It intrigued me, fascinated me, and I just… oomph. I cannot refuse a Time Travel Yuuji Sandwich. Sign me up.

Honestly, there are two scenes that are just… a bit too clear in my mind when reading this chapter. That would be the one I drew above, and the other is when Yaga called Gojou to come outside of the class. I love, loooove how Vox wrote Satoru’s POV. And when Yuuji fucking giggles?

I lost it.

Can you imagine, drawing Yuuji grins, with shiny stuff, maybe some sunlight, just purely happy and indulging Gojou?

Help me, for I am drowning in my love and adoration for Yuuji.

Page 2 is an experiment on using harsh black as shading (kind of?). I really enjoyed colouring Yuuji, and drawing those buffalo skulls! I wish I can grasp the concept of contrast a bit better tho :v

CHAPTER 2:

This is probably the only chapter where I picture still images instead of comic panels. A bit like those cool chapter covers in mangas. The one I really, really want to draw is the scene with Satoru on the table. Can’t pass the opportunity to highlight Satoru being a brat, albeit a really cool brat.

Cool idea drawing always proves to be a challenge, because of course my artistic skill just so happens to be below the requirement. Thank you, Sketchfab, for the chair and desk’s perspective otherwise I’m screwed lmao

The second scene that I want to draw the most is this:

Gojou is one step away from climbing Yuuji. Also, I have a bit of a problem picturing a man pouting that makes him look crazy instead, so please have Gojou pouting adorably instead. Because, as Yuuji said (with love), Gojou is (also) a brat.

This is possibly my favorite art in this project, after Yuuji's in Chapter 1 page 2. It's clean because I don't have to draw background, and I was having a fun time drawing Yuuji. And Gojou's squishy cheek as well.

Oh, actually, there is a “manga” scene in this chapter. It’s when Yuuji said, “I love Satoru.”

I just—

AAAAAHHHHH YUUJIIIIIII YOU AND VOX ARE GONNA BE THE DEATH OF ME. That secure relationship between Yuuji and Gojou? Satoru’s description of how Yuuji’s smile could blot out the sun??? Not me screaming 💀 I also see bits of hints of possible co-dependency, though I could be reading those wrong, but either way I’m good. Secure and possessive relationships are fun to consume hhhhhh

But yeah. There are too many wholesome Yuuji smiles in this fic, and I… I am not confident enough to draw genuine happiness. It’s too much for me ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

For this chapter, another reason why I chose these two scenes is just because I want to try and draw cover-worthy pictures of Yuuji and Satoru, and Yuuji and Gojou (cough)

CHAPTER 3:

We start the chapter with Nanamin. Ah, Nanamin. I forgot what his teen self looked like and was surprised to see his design again lmao

I want to draw Yuuji and Nanami scene because… I just want to, I guess. I have never drawn him before (Yaga as well) so that's an interesting challenge. I got two ideas on how I want to draw it. One is a bit painting-esque, and the other one is like another chapter cover. In the end, I chose the cover one because I want to emphasise the difference between teen!Nanami and the Nanami from Yuuji’s original timeline, and how the watch feels like a connection between the same (yet not) person. It’s a bittersweet feeling? In a way?

I’m not really good at explaining my intention ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

AND FINALLY.

A Yuuji SandwichTM scene.

And oh B O I do I love it. Have I told you I like every chapter? I probably have. But this one? Satoru’s curiosity, Yuuji’s on-brand self-deprecation, and Gojou come strolling down to show more of Yuuji to his mini-self. I want to draw this whole scene, from Gojou finding them, feeding Yuuji snacks, bitch-slapping Satoru into the backroom, to Yuuji growling. Them trying to hide a boner from Yuuji’s growl got me cackling so hard I LOVE IT 😭

I love it all. Please love Yuuji in my stead, Satoru and Satonyan :3

Oh! Also! 40-finger Yuuji sounds really, really cool! I’ll be happy with whatever Vox will give us in future chapters, but 40-finger Yuuji… possible scene with this timeline’s Sukuna… my god. The action! The drama! The bloodshed! One can only hope.

However, as much as I love that whole scene, it’s still too much for me :”) I’m still not yet confident in delivering the humour and action. Also my already-long drawing plan had my brain groaning in protest so I can’t push my luck :'D

When Gojou said "He looks sweet, but he's a bit of a beast", I kept picturing Yuuji staring innocently, but there was an edge to his look. As if the moment Satoru looks away, he will pounce. But in the end I just stick with innocent-looking Yuuji because I accidentally drew his eyes that way and I want to keep it in lol

Since Satoru points out how soft and cuddly Yuuji is, I also want to draw soft Yuuji :v

And the last one… is the last scene. For some reason, I read that both Gojou and Satoru share Yuuji’s lap and was having a frustrating yet fun time figuring out how it’s… physically possible, without having their butts on the ground because they both are not small at all. As I lined the art, I reread it again and… perhaps I read it wrong? Satoru is beside Yuuji, and not on his lap? So yeah, this one might be the least accurate, but hey, at least you can view it as a crack drawing or something :v

ULTRAKRILL

Sisyphish (Lion's Mane Jellyfish) and Minnows (White Ribbon Eel) Prime

Glubriel (Caribbean Reef Squid)

SubmarV1ne (Longfin Mako Shark (+ Sailfish)) and SubmarV2ne (Great White Shark (+ Sailfish)) (also inspired by the little articulated snake toys)

Rambling about why I chose the beasts that I did under the cut.

Originally I was gonna use yellow tangs for Sisyphus but then I was looking at his design and was not sure how I would deal with his face while going with a fish for the tail. And then I remembered that jellies' tentacles kinda look like the way his hair does in the concept art, and while I was looking for yellow jellies I saw a lion's mane and went. Yes, that one. Very happy with the way it looks it was a lot of fun to draw.

Minos was originally gonna be a deep sea giant isopod, but after I remembered that jellyfish existed I considered going with a sea snake, couldn't find ANY naturally white snakes, thought about an albino moray, then found out about white ribbon eels (which are related to morays, very cool). He's technically the only fish unless you count the V models jkgjkhgf

Gabriel was originally gonna be a paradise/mustard gas betta but I ended up deciding that if I ever drew/wrote about them all I would be so annoyed about there being just. One freshwater fish in the ocean with saltwater creatures just,, bothered me so much that man would be In Pain. So I decided to look for color changing sea creatures, most cephalopods obviously, and one of the first ones that came up was the Caribbean reef squid. I checked to see if they could be red and they sure could so I decided that worked.

Also, his crown(?) is meant to look like gorgonian coral.

V1 was originally going to be a shortfin mako because they're slightly faster, but the silhouette was so similar that I was STRUGGLING to find differences. Longfin wasn't much better though. Regardless, mako shark because they're known for being the fastest shark and among the fastest fish.

V2 is a great white because strong scary y'know y'know. I considered dunkleosteus for the same reasons, but switched to a shark because V1 was also gonna be one and I wanted them to mostly match.

V1 and V2 both have two sailfin sails because 1. big fin to mimic their wings, 2. fast fish. Very cool.

Also the doodles on them are meant to show that the sails can fold back for speed and open to stop quick. The other one is to show that they can swap the tails out for legs if they wanted to.

Now this is a hella hot take but I personally think KaiAo is much more interesting than ShinRan (for me). And fun too, because I've always been drawn to fun and teasing dynamics like these over the more romantic ones (if you get what I mean by more romantic). KaiAo and Shinran both are such wonderful couples though. *Bangs fists on table* THEY'RE BOTH SO UNBEARABLE CUTEEE

Someone told me I have very similar vibes to Aoko and I've been reevaluating myself XDD. No but I can see it. I think we have a similar energy (in my brain at least, I'm much more tired when I go out) and even preferred fashion.

Would give her a kiss anytime. Definitely. Let's go out on a picnic and have a fun hangout. We would be good friends.

3. SHINICHI/CONAN

Drawing was inspired by that scene where Conan gets suspicious of Hanzawa-san (from The Culprit Hanzawa, a spinoff of dcmk.)

Ok, so the thing is, I have a very strange relationship with him.

He's so silly, right? He so fun, he's adorable, so caring and well meaning, but I'm scared of him. I wouldn't want to meet him. I'm terrified even though he's so nice 😭. So I'd rather observe from a distance (hence the drawing ^ but I'd definitely set off his senses a lot.)

(What does it say about me that I'm scared of Shin/Cone but not Kaito? I'm working on overcoming my fear of Conan/Shin, I promise *on my hands and knees* I REALLY AM)

(My irl friend understands why I'm so terrified, I've explained the crazy stunts he's done and his very illegal spy equipment to them... they actually got a nightmare about Conan that night. He's such a law breaking little gremlin (affectionate)) So...no kisses for you, detective... only because I'm too intimidated 😭 But I'll gladly make content dedicated to you and fawn over you <3

If it's not already obvious, Kai > Shin/Cone for me. But he's definitely a close second.

Shin's/Cone's aesthetic? So peak. His detective work and general vibes with the series is so banging. That clean formal attire - I love wearing more formal stuff out. Being judged for it? At this point I don't really care hahaha. His mismatching outfits are so endearing, but I don't really vibe with them.

Canon is kinda frustrating for me. Well, as usual, I love to pick out the pieces I love and keep them dear to my heart. Ugh I want more identity issues and character relationship focuses. And more Shinran, this is literally ridiculous for slowburn lol.

HELLO EVERYONE THE CHRISTMAS BOY IS DONE

insane ramblings abt this below the cut

a huge part of making this is obviously just color editing like the base coat is the same cuz i am NOT drawing but i rlly like how many aspects i didnt only take from christmas robin but christmas chrom as well

like from robin you can see the uh. apron thing. also the stars on the buttons, and the right boot specifically. some of the fur trim is from robin but most of it is from chrom even tho the texture is different because it already had a curved shape that was easier to work with

the chrom elements are the coattail pattern in which i frankensteined chrom's on there and covered the shitty flow with the ribbons (which are taken from christmas lissa!). the brooch on the top left button is also chrom's, as well as the left boot and the cuff on the right boot. why two different boots? because i wanted to. you may note that the pants are also different, and are, in fact, brave chrom's pants. i didn't only want to add minor details and call it a day hence the change in pants and boots to add some difference to it from base morgan. also chrobin win but like. you know me. you know.

also i DID in fact make his hair slightly longer. wanted to make it messier but then realized messing with the base hair would be horrible so i drew some. i had to draw some minor elements besides especially on the boots n pants to slot them together, since brave chrom has these uhhh shin guards on his boots that make a huge gap between the boots' v shape otherwise so i added some there. i also tweaked shading where i frankensteined the coattails because otherwise it just looked bad.

i'm not gonna point out all the recoloring like you can tell the pants arent blue anymore you have eyes.

all around!! I'm super happy with how this turned out even if it took five billion hours!! (more like. 6 hours. yeah six hours sounds right).

i've never done an edit this major before and it was a ton of fun!! thank you salem for the random suggestion of "christmas morgan" that somehow triggered my innate hubris.

His only saving grace was being smart enough to figure it out even when he didn't read the textbook, and honestly it was your saving grace, too, when you were just too lazy to read said textbook. Really, he hardly ever needed to study, but one of his favorite excuses to hang out with you (and get you in his bed) was dragging you over for a study date, specifically when his parents weren't home. And also because he liked helping you out when you were stressed. Though, his help sometimes strayed from the kind you needed.

"Tony, I'm serious," you laughed, trying to push him away from your neck and earning playful smooches to your arms instead.

"Studying is boring," he argued, a tempting uptick in his voice that alluded to his less-than-boring thoughts. You'd managed to get him through endless chapters of chemistry with no issue, but calculus II was where he drew the line, apparently.

"I don't want to fail," you said back, more stern this time. He whined in protest, but knew he didn't have a good reason to argue against your concern. "Then can we make it fun?" He quickly sat back up with a newfound idea, much more excited and smiling wide at your small laugh. "Depends on your idea of fun."

He leaned back in, your noses nearly touching as he glanced down at your lips. "When you get it right," he started with a sultry tone, "I'll give you a prize." The offer was as tempting as he was. You'd play along.

"Don't get me too distracted," you teasingly warned. You were a little disappointed when he backed off, snatching up the nearby textbook instead. Unfortunately, however, his little game depended on you getting answers right. Answers to math problems that you had already been struggling on.

"Wrong."

Wrong.

"Maybe try it again?" His question was unsure, almost scared to suggest it after you looked over at him with a nearly murderous look. You sighed heavily, going back to square one even with the discouragement.

"Close," he cheered, probably not meaning to sound so condescending. You dramatically fell backward onto the bed with an audible whine. He watched you silence for a moment.

"Here, maybe you can learn from me," you heard him say before the notebook in your hands was carefully tugged on. You let him take it without a fight, but the heavy textbook that replaced it didn't feel much better.

"You just want me to kiss you when you get everything right," you pouted, sitting back up and pointing your pencil at him.

"And then I'll kiss you when you get them right," he sassed back, taking the pencil and flipping to a blank page to work in. You sighed as you flipped through for another example problem, not having very high hopes. But he wasn't just scribbling incoherently onto the paper or sorting it in his head. You watched him work at a much slower pace than his brain was probably working at, making sure you could keep up. He was even drawing little arrows to help you connect the dots. You smiled, leaning in for a quick peck to his cheek and hearing his diligent writing stop. "I haven't even done anything yet," he looked at you, a knowing smile hiding on his lips. You shrugged.

"You didn't have to," you whispered, resting on his shoulder. He looked down with that smile that finally broke through, getting back to whatever he was doing, but you'd lost track by now. So by the time he was boxing in his answer and looking over at you, you hadn't even checked the correct answer yet. Really you didn't need to look to know he was right. That, and he was already leaning down to you for another kiss, knowing he was right. You teasingly avoided his lips, instead kissing at the bridge of his nose. He hummed in disappointment. "Not what I was hoping for."

You ignored him with a giggle, looking through the study guide for another problem you needed help with. "Do this one," you pointed almost excitedly at the jumble of math. Within minutes he was done, or maybe it was really that easy. That expectant gaze turned to you again, only this time, the grin on his face was a little more smug. You flipped through the pages to find the answer, almost afraid to correct him when you saw it.

"It says this should be a three," you trailed off, tapping your finger on the page. He studied the page for a few moments.

"I rounded it," he shrugged, deadpanning.

"It says not to round up."

"It's the same thing," he reasoned, head tilted with a pout. You sighed, unable to keep up your playful banter and leaning over to him. You could feel him smile into your kiss, and hear his whine when you pulled away so shortly after. He let you pick out another one and patiently worked it through with you in mind, playing along with that back-and-forth game, but whether he got bored of the work or just wanted to take control, you weren't sure.

"Your turn," he sang, pulling the textbook from your lap and offering that notebook in its place. You hesitantly swapped with him.

"Just look at my work while you do it," he calmly instructed, reassurance radiating through his tone. You only nodded, watching him flip between pages until deciding on the easiest one. Well, the easiest to him, probably. Regardless, you didn't complain, following along with those silly arrows Tony drew.

"See, easy," he flouted before you even had a chance to finish writing it out. You turned to him with a frown, ready to make some remark or another, but your mind blanked when lips softly pressed to yours. But just as you had done, he didn't stay for long, quickly pecking beside your nose before pulling back. He returned to the text in his lap, continuing to throw whatever problems he deemed fit at you.

"Look at you," he cooed, feigned impression in his voice as you boxed in another answer. You happily accepted another one of his kisses that had been steadily growing longer each time. And this time, he parted your lips with his, going in harder to leave you breathless. You teasingly bit his lip when you pulled away.

"Thanks," you said quietly, interrupting him before he could successfully chase after you. It wasn't much, but he did help you out a little. His eyes fluttered open to meet yours, glancing between them and your lips with a sigh before brushing it off with that always proud smile at being praised. He sat back up, taking the notebook and pencil from your hands and sliding over to the bedside table to discard those stressful study tools for the night. "Don't thank me yet," he remarked sarcastically. You huffed a half-hearted laugh, watching him flop into his usual spot on the bed and roll onto his side to look at you.

"You could at least try to believe I'll pass."

"If you don't, I'll buy you an ice cream or something," he said flippantly with a wave of his hand. You snorted, falling in place beside him. "You'll be fine," he reassured you in a whisper. The way he was looking at you made it so easy to get lost in his bright eyes and smile, chasing away any of your doubts. For tonight, at least.

You scooted a little closer, his lips already pressing to your forehead and arm circling over you to draw you against him. You yelped in surprise when he suddenly rolled you onto your back, laughing at the rapid-fire kisses being peppered around your face. He dove into your neck, each one starting to linger just a little longer than the last. You bit your lip with a smile when those sweet kisses became soft nips, and your breath hitched at the slow hands finding their way under your shirt. His hands slid their way over your ribcage, coaxing you to curl into him when they slid to your back, expertly twisting apart the hooks of your bra. Tony sat up, bringing you with him, and patiently waited for you to pull your shirt over your head. As soon as it was tossed to the side, your bra was pulled down your arms, joining your discarded t-shirt somewhere on the floor. His quickly followed. Along with your jeans, pulled down with your underwear in one swoop (if not a bit awkwardly while you laughed at his efforts). Even that playful smack to your thigh didn't stop you from giggling.

But the sight of his cock in his hand when he finally undressed did. You spread your legs in want, inviting him to settle in between them and gripping at the sheets when he did. He leaned over you with one hand anchored at your side while another lined himself up at your entrance. You were greeted with that familiar burning stretch when he entered you, clenching around him and squirming when he stopped moving. You felt his huff against the top of your head, where he still placed one more kiss before draping an arm over you.

Hey! I'm a really big fan of your art and I have a question. Do you have a certain process for drawing hands? I've been trying to get better at it since forever and maybe you have some tips bc yours are awesome for a beginner :D

:O THANK YOU SO MUCH! Hands are like one of my only artistic talents that I just had beforehand so I'm more than happy to show you my process! I have no official training by the way, everything I'm telling you is just stuff that I've learned from drawing them and observing them.

This is a simple sketch that is eventually going to turn into something for Taddy, but it will do for right now! I'm going to walk you through how I sketched this.

First step: ALWAYS ALWAYS START with the outline of the three big fingers. These determine the proportions of the rest of the hand. Where you might be getting tripped up is trying to draw the whole pointer finger first, and you should not do that. Doing one finger and then another one messes with the proportions; it's much easier to fix three lines than it is to redraw the whole finger. Make sure you curve for the knuckles!

Second step: In this picture, only the index finger and thumb are fully visible, but if the others were to be visible this is where you would draw the rest of them. You should have three distinct sections, and those sections should be CURVED. Your fingertips have a very unique curve to them and it can take a few tries to get it right.

Third step: the thumb. I hate doing the thumb. This one might take you a bit because the thumb is always smaller than people think it is. The tip of the thumb should come out to just below the first joint in your index finger. The line going across the back of the hand should always be over the one coming down from the fingers. Your thumb is also not flat; it curves inwards and then back out as it goes down to your wrist. It should only have two sections!

Fourth step: the pinkie and the "back" of the hand. PINKIES SUCK EVEN MORE THAN THUMBS! I normally choose hand positions that don't feature the pinky because I hate drawing it. But cheat sheet: the pinky never extends past the second joint of your ring finger! Your pinky still has three sections, just smaller than the rest, so the second joint of your pinky is roughly level with the first joint of your ring finger. The "back" of your hand also has a slight bump to it: the pinky curves out and then it curves back in at the wrist. The transition from back of hand to wrist isn't supposed to be smooth like it is from the thumb.

Fifth step: knuckles! This one can be ignored if your art style doesn't do knuckles. I choose to do little v-shapes like that or just bumpy lines whenever I feel like being extra, but they're always pointing downwards and they're bigger than you think!

Some extra details that might be helpful:

A bunch of the stuff above I already mentioned, but for the ones I haven't mentioned...

-The skeleton lines you drew at the beginning should always curve away from the thumb. Not by a lot, just a little!

-The top joints for the three fingers are roughly equal with the index and ring, but the middle finger top joint is higher up. The second joints are all roughly level with each other

-Middle is tallest, than index, than ring and finally pinky. The thumb is shorter than the pinky

I think that's it? I've never really done an art tutorial before so let me know if I need to explain anything else! This was pretty fun though :D

Straw Hat modern!AU v.1: Jobs and Random Bits of non-plot Headcanons

Yes I know Oda already gave a list and far be it from me to disagree with canon (/s) but hear me out

Jimbei - full-time activist, former soldier/bodyguard. Lorge. Still does work as a bouncer from time to time, this is how he meets Luffy.

(Does karate at the national level. Works out at Zoro's gym, teaches classes sometimes.)

Brook - musician, naturally. Classically trained, accidentally achieved popular fame after the band he was in with his old buddies for fun was scouted out. Lost his bandmates. :( Was depressed for years and just tuned pianos and guitars and other instruments until the Straw Hats brought joy to his life again.

Franky - freelance handyman. Is an engineer, has a engineering degree and certification, but no firm will hire him because he refuses to wear formal clothes (main client is the local university, they asked him only to work at night to avoid students and claims plausible deniability if he chooses not to wear shoes on his own job sites) but he doesn't mind his lot in life because fuck 'em anyway also because trauma and also he's in love with one of the profs

Robin - university professor, teaches history/linguistics/historical linguistics/archaeology. Has like four PhDs. Was wrapped up in some shadiness in Central America while a grad student, but does such high-quality work and is in love with her building's handyman that no one tries to get her in trouble for it

(Robin and Franky meet and bond over keeping the fucking ancient anthropology building both up to livable standards and eligible for the national heritage register. They talk A Lot about historical building materials and methods)

((Note I said 'up to livable standards' and not 'up to code'. Franky's nickname is short for 'Frankenstein' for what he's done to the building's wiring, though somehow it still works))

Chopper - third year med student at 15. Already accepted into the residency program Law is an attending at. Also, he has his driver's license now!! He's the DD for the Straw Hat crew when they go out to bars, and is also self-appointed booze coordinator and hits the brakes for people when he senses alcohol poisoning coming on. Not even Whitebeard Himself can argue when little Dr. Tony gives his super-serious little disapproving pout.

(No, a 15yo cannot legally drive at night, much less operate a car full of drunkards. No one tells him this because he takes the responsibility for the well-being of his friends so seriously, and also no one gives a shit, and also everyone else is drunk anyway.)

Sanji - sous-chef at Baratie (I know, I know, shocker) which is next door to Zoro's gym. He takes classes at the university so that he'll be able to run his own restaurant one day.

(If he finds the FUCKING SHITHEAD who's drawing that Sora, Warrior of the Sea-inspired comic in the school newspaper someone's gonna have to fake an alibi to get him out of murder charges. Even if he does approve of Germa 66's ugly designs and cries over Sora's successful escape and loving words to her lost son)

Usopp - physics major, art minor. Draws a weekly comic for the school newspaper called The Adventures of Sniper King. Picked up boxing due to high school requirements, works out at Zoro's gym.

(Yes it's him. He's got a yellow stripe painted down his back due to the vitriol Sanji spews at his pseudonym daily. He really didn't mean for it to take off! Sanji told them all his story once and Usopp was heartbroken because he lost his mom too and one day he got an itch and he drew a comic about what he thought Sora'd say to Sanji, or what he thought Banchina might say to him, or some weird combination--and then sent it instead of the next installment of Sniper King to his editor ON ACCIDENT and PEOPLE WANTED MORE and HE'S SO SORRY AND HE'S SO SCARED. SANJI'S GONNA KILL HIM AND USOPP WILL DESERVE IT)

((Sanji condemns him into being busboy at Baratie for a month and refuses to speak to him for three days. But he also gives him spicy ginger desserts every night for a week, because Usopp's Sora is truer to life than the original Sora in terms of the love she embodies, and because Stealth Black's rumored escape is shown in the light of triumph. Sanji could hear her in the monologue of Sora's thoughts to her son when she learned he'd escaped Germa 66's clutches. How proud she was that the circumstances of his birth and life hadn't chained him down forever. It was the first time since the age of 9 that he could clearly remember what she had sounded like because, whether through pure miracle or the shared sympathy of orphan-hood, Usopp had gotten her voice exactly right, and it soothed something old and hurting in Sanji to hear it.))

Nami - business/finance, computer science double major. She REALLY wanted to study geography and GIS systems but her family needs the money so she's tilted her dreams--she's going to build the most precise geographic information system in the WORLD and market it to rich assholes while "losing it" to low-income thieves in need.

Stole 50% of her college tuition and negotiated down the other half in a meeting the bursar's office can't actually quite remember fully? But it's their signatures on the papers.

Zoro - business major. Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds. No he is not passing any of his classes. But Kuina had been determined to inherit the dojo and keep it flourishing, even if her dad didn't think a woman could. Then she died; and Shimotsuki-sensei died when Zoro was in high school; and now Zoro has two dear friends' dreams on his shoulders, and damn his lack of an MBA or any common sense but he will succeed. Sanji, Nami, and Jimbe are helping.

He did rename the place, from just 'Shimotsuki Dojo' to Kuina's Asskickers, and opened it to all sports. All classes and all tournaments are co-ed, all ages. He tried to get "ASSKICKER" on the gym's competition uniforms/gi but some of his students are toddlers so that wouldn't fly, so he uses 2001 instead. People think it's the founding year and get very confused when the gym is technically 50+years old; 2001 = the number of fights Zoro lost to Kuina.

(Nami asks him why he didn't use "KUINA"; Zoro looks at her funny. "But that's not [male student example]'s name? Why would I put that on his back? Do you want people to get confused??")

Luffy - biology major. HEAR ME OUT. Garp insisted he go to college for at least a semester and while still an undecided liberal arts major, Luffy discovered a whole BUILDING FILLED WITH COOL BUGS!!! AND PEOPLE GO OUT AND FIND THEM?? AND BRING THEM BACK!! THAT'S A JOB???? SO COOL!!!

So yeah. Technically he's on the road to become an entomologist, but is struggling due to his undiagnosed (but incredibly obvious) AuDHD and a lack of care for statistics (and math in general) and research writing (and reading/writing in general). Robin, Chopper, and Usopp are working HARD to get him to the general area of passing. Luffy also is getting a minor in Portuguese (which is his first language) because he plans on exploring the Amazon Rainforest looking for cool beetles when he graduates.

Ace - fire fighter with shady connections. (more later?)

Sabo - activist with much shadier connections. (more later?)

In true tradition, here are my thoughts on my drawings, because it was in fact: 7 AM

Okay so Fernando I is, as stated, super ostentatious. Why? Because it fits him but also because it's based on the real life guy. In all the paintings I could find of Philip V, in most of them he is wearing at least some kind of armor, and if not, is dressed pretty dramatically imo. And I will not be drawing a full set of armor, but it felt a bit weird to leave it our entirely so. Also historically I do think it's so interesting he was portrayed this way, since he was described as someone who was "only interested in outward decorum and brave only in battle."(again: how fernando coded hahaha)

See! Super dramatic! Also I made this meme that is only comprehensible to me

Seriously, why is he pointing in half of his paintings???? I couldn't find a concrete answer so I will give my personal analysis 😤 I like to think that it's symbolism for how he's always moving forward, like "here's will I go will go next!" ....or the artists just couldn't figure out what to do with his hands, I feel the struggle.

Oh also important to note!! His heels!! I am obsessed with this fashion detail from the time:

Nandopoleon is super important to me, it's why @sweatyflytrap and I became friends in the first place 🥺🥺🥺 so it felt very surreal to draw him because I've been thinking about him for a while. I want to make an actual web weave with quotes lined up with Fernando's career, or stuff comparing their personalities. Or draw him recreating one of the iconic paintings(probably the one with Napeoleon crowning himself emperor, I think it's fitting.) But to draw him in that classic pose, im very happy :)

And as I said already, Hussars are very fun to draw because it is such a general AU. The joy of it is more about figuring out how to incorporate the details of the real life racesuits to the uniform. If I didn't only primarily love to draw Fernando and Seb, i would be like "request a driver for the Hussar AU!" But I don't know how well that would go 😭

Anyways end of post. I think the reason why I've been feeling a lot more creatively driven and passionate is because it's a lot easier to draw so much when you know other people will be interested/want to discuss it with you! I used to have a friend that I would talk a lot about my OCs with, and guess what, back then I drew a lot more of them than I do now. It's not that I need outside validation to draw, I draw plenty for myself, but more that it makes me feel more happy about it, because I know that I'll get to talk about it with other people and see other people's thoughts, rather than just me being the sole participant. As you guys know, I like to talk. A lot. So it's very nice for it not all to be in my head(I am crazy) 😭😭 So thank you to everyone for your continued interest <3 you sustain me 🥺🥺

Okay, I’m making this Corbin’s official design. Honestly, I’m kinda glad how this one turned out. Corbin is a bird, a crow specifically. I didn’t draw him with a beak at all the last time I drew his design, cuz the first time I did it, I kinda went about it wrong. For a while, I drew him like this;

I couldn’t do it anymore..... So I had to get some references from some pictures of OCs just to draw him the way I wanted the first time, and I’m glad I did.

Though at the same time, I’m not totally sure about this design. I mean, I still like it and prefer it, but I feel like I could do something a bit more with it. He’s not just a normal bird, he’s part of the Goetia family (the son of Raum). And as someone who is special, I feel like I should do more with his appearance.

Also, I’m still deciding on what I should do about his character (like his personality, his story, and his background). He’s pretty dry when it comes to his personality. Doesn’t show much emotion on his face, not even in his voice. Almost like he’s just un-caring about everything and is very moody and mellow all the time. Basically, your typical goth dude. Though he is a cool young man once you get to know him. He’s also Octavia’s love interest, so there’s that too.

As I said, he’s the Son of Raum. Raum is the Great Earl of Hell and the 40th spirit of Ars Goetia. He rules the thirty legions of Demons. I guess he’s not as powerful as Stolas since Princes outrank Earls apparently. Though at this point, I’m convinced Stolas isn’t as strong as he’s made out to be. The only time he decides to be strong in the show is when Viv says so. But still, Raum is a very powerful and intelligent man.

Corbin is the oldest of 4 children and was personally trained by his father to be the next Earl. Though Corbin gradually does turn out to be strong, smart, and almost talented like his father by the age of 17, he doesn’t care at all to take his father’s place. He’d much prefer to live his life in hell and play music (this sounds cliche, but just bear with me, lol!) Raum argues one day with his son that if he won’t follow in his footsteps, then he shouldn’t live in the mansion anymore, and probably cut ties with the family. And that’s what Corbin did.

He stayed with his first girlfriend for a while but broke up with her after she was found in her bed with another guy and left. He eventually met with Trixie (the imp clinging to his arm) and befriended her after a few days. One day, Trixie heard him singing and fell in love with his voice. He told her he had nowhere to live and she was quick to offer him an invite to live in her home as a roommate. The two now live as roommates.

That’s about the gist of it. I say I like what I did with his story. Still, I would love to hear some good critiques and see what you guys think. Do you think I can change some things about him? Anything I need to improve on perhaps? Is he fine the way he is? I don’t intend to change too much.

Things you might want to know before BATDR releases (in terms of lore)

I've had a lot of conversations in different corners of the fandom about the Bendy books, Boris and the Dark Survival, and now the BATDR trailer, and I think I've got a pretty solid grip on what those pieces of media tried to do to set the stage for this next story. So today I'm gonna go through the pieces and put together a guide with all the details I think you'll want to know for BATDR. We'll see how this holds up on November 15th.

Warning, spoilers for BATIM, Boris and the Dark Survival (BATDS), The Employee Handbook, Dreams Come to Life (DCTL), The Illusion of Living (TIOL), The Lost Ones (TLO), and Crack Up Comics ahead.

Our story begins at the end of Bendy and the Ink Machine. Henry makes it to the machine, he plays a tape that says "The End" after a brutal fight with the inky beast and a monologue from Joey about how he can fix everything. When the boss fight ends and the screen erupts in light, we see Henry enter Joey Drew's apartment. A calendar on the kitchen wall indicates that the year is 1963, the month is August (the calendar date actually changes randomly per playthrough to show it's any day in August except the 31st, you cannot get the 31st to load).

The bulletin boards are where I want to draw your attention. I'm going to focus on Allison's letter, because it gives us this nugget: she's working for Arch Gate. This was the first time we'd ever heard of Arch Gate, and it didn't have much meaning then, but now it does.

We get a few more disconnected pieces in Boris and the Dark Survival. BATDS is a game where you play as Boris (or a Lost One or Sammy) walking through the studio to collect a set list of supplies for the safehouse. There are other collectibles hiding in lockers, Boris corpses' chests, etc, that give us a number of things to think on. The Milla Legna tapes give us an interesting story that I believe might be tied to Susie Campbell's backstory, but nothing is confirmed. What I'm going to focus on are Wally and Sammy's details. By collecting hidden pieces of pipes, we can assemble a mini game that has a high score set by Wally Franks. If we manage to beat his score, we can an audio log from Joey where he sounds extremely nervous. He begs his friend Nathan to help him out with financial trouble. Additionally, once we've unlocked Sammy (by finding his candles and mask to summon him), we can play as him, and he has two unique abilities. One is that he can teleport through cracks in the walls (which is necessary given he's the only character who can't run), the other is that he can play instruments in the hallway. There's a code for the instruments above where you place his mask (fun Easter egg, it's the same code that originally got us his secret lines in the pre-update version of Chapter 3), and if you play instruments throughout the level, you'll get an audio log from the Unknown Voice to tease Dark Revival.

If this voice sounds familiar, it's because we've heard him in both of the BATDR trailers, and now we have a face for him. Many suspected this was Sammy, the Ink Demon, or Nathan before this point, but it looks like this fellow might be named Wilson (assuming the guy on the posters and this dude are meant to be the same, I would not be surprised if there's something impostor-y happening). His voice actor is still being kept a secret at this time.

Turning to the books, there's not a lot for me to note from DCTL at this time. This book takes place in summer of 1946 and follows protagonist Buddy Lewek as he becomes a gofer for the studio and ultimately ends up falling into Joey's schemes. The big things we get in this one do more to further our understanding of BATIM, such as telling us why Henry left the studio ala Norman (to spend more time with his wife, Linda). We learn that Sammy got addicted to drinking ink and starting sacrificing people once enough of it was in his system, hearing voices, we get Norman's death off-screen along with most of the art department (save for Abby, we'll talk about Abby in a bit), we find out Joey purchased a theater to expand the JDS building, and we learn part of what the machine is for. Joey wants to bring his characters to life, in part to have meet-able mascots at Bendyland, the upcoming project he pitches to investors (and the scene where he refers to Bertrum as Bertie and pisses him off, we actually get to see it happening in real time!). We also get a cryptic mention from Allison at the party to not forget what happened to Susie when talking to Buddy, to which he responds "who's Susie?" This is important, we know Buddy has never met Susie within this year and that Allison is the voice of Alice Angel by this point.

We know thanks to the Crack Up Comics’ introduction that by 1972, Joey Drew is believed to be dead, and Nathan Arch, head of Arch Gate Studios (a location we see mentioned a few times in the background of the BATDR trailer) has purchased the rights and assets for Bendy. Nathan is a steel and oil tycoon, never having shown a real interest in cartoons before, so why would he do this? Thanks to the JDS website’s press archives, he tells us it’s to keep Joey’s legacy alive, but is that the full truth?

We assume he wants it for the ink machine, it’s an invaluable piece of technology. But we also see several things in the trailer and on the JDS website that point to media preservation. A museum dedicated to Bendy’s history, a banner advertising “Joey Drew The Man and The Demon,” which sounds like a documentary. Even the animation cell we see Audrey working on is taken from the cartoon Cheap Seats, the first time we as fans got to see Alice speak in a cartoon. TIOL and the Crack Up Comics are framed as being projects that archive Joey’s legacy with the way that they’re released, and while Nathan tells us that he hasn’t messed with The Illusion of Living (which was originally released as Joey’s memoir in 1942 in-universe, right as Bendyland was being conceptualized and Joey got into contact with Bertrum), we don’t know how truthful it is. His anecdotes and annotations within Joey’s memoir do leave you wondering just how good of friends they really were. It begs a lot of questions, what is Arch Gate up to? I get the sense the motivation is a little bit of wanting the machine for a greater purpose and another piece achieving Joey’s dream where he could not, bringing cartoons to life. But we can’t be sure. There’s a lot we have questions on for BATDR, but I suspect it’ll be an exciting ride going into it. The one question I have is will we see Abby Lambert.

For those who don’t know, Abby is a very important character to the books. She’s a friend of Joey’s in the late 20s, an artist who’s not super traditional (she wears a lot of men’s suits and I believe was described as having short hair?), and she’s responsible for connecting Joey and Henry. Upon going to an art show where Henry’s work was on display with Abby, Joey started getting ideas about producing cartoons. Then he tried to come up with main character’s concept, and Abby tried to draw it but missed the mark. So she invited Henry over to help, which Joey was a little miffed about since he didn’t want a lot of people to know yet, but with a little back and forth and critique, Bendy was born (and apparently he’s named after a dead photographer from the detective story in this memoir, but that’s a rabbit hole I’m not ready to go down). After that, Joey and Henry start JDS together, and after Henry’s left, Abby is finally available to come on and works as the head of the art department (according to Joey). He talks to highly of her in TIOL, but when we see her in DCTL, she’s exhausted, frustrated, and he’s kind of dismissive of her when Buddy’s caught stealing from the department. Abby is important to the history of some of our central characters, and while I don’t think we should need the books to understand BATDR, I do hope she makes an appearance with some context. Bendy exists because of three people, it feels like she should be there. That’s all I have for now for details you might have missed from the books and spinoffs that I suspect will be relevant to this game. Drew some more headcannons that I got for Raven!

•He's obsessed with chocolate. If he runs out of it in his room, he often sneaks into the kitchen to grab however much he can before the Talon guards show up. Ravess is the only one that knows he does this, as she caught him one night.

(also I like how the more I draw the dark ace, the more I draw him accurately in the show)

•He falls off the bed a lot.

•Dragons are his lifetime fixation! If anyone even mentions the word, he'll slowly involve himself into the conversation, until he's practically info dumping about them.

So imagine how he felt when he learned about the dragon training program on the island ;]

•Fun fact, his voice actor is also the voice actor for Chester V. from Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2. And because of that, I also headcannon that he has a really broad voice range, and often does different voices for if he uses disguises!

Perlman was so much more "class clown" than I was expecting-- having a ton of fun, a ton of energy, bouncing off of the audience quite energetically. Roy and Jay were great, too:

Like he said, not a straight man on the set! I'll bet that show was a blast to work on. If you can carve out a good chunk of time, it's worth watching the entire Q & A. It's one of my favorites of all the cons that were filmed and shared. I believe it was the first one after the show was canceled but everyone was certain that another network would pick up the show, and Koslow was pushing hard for a least one movie, and it was looking like we'd actually get one. Oh, well...

Also, everyone (including Perlman) not hearing Vincent's voice at times was side-splitting. XDDDD

Unfortunately after this con, Perlman made appearances at a couple others where he encountered some of the more, ummm, fanatical and aggressive Classic fans, in ways that soured him on doing any more of them. He finally relented and made the surprise appearance in 1995 at A Distant Shore in LA, which just happened to be the only con I was able to attend. I got lucky. We all did. He did another one in 1999, but I think that was it as far as BATB appearances.

Nan's thoughts on Diana were fascinating--

Yes, they were. She had such an influence on the way I learned to consume media and analyze aspects of a character that I might've missed. We didn't agree on everything re: Diana, but we shared a brain when it came to Vincent. Were you able to watch the full panel with Nan? It's well worth it.

recognizing why Vincent kept Diana a secret from Father for a bit and doesn't admit to her until there is a chance Diana fill find a way Below,

He wasn't going to share her until he absolutely had to. She was his little secret, and I love that about a character who's normally so open with his father.

noting what drew Vincent to Catherine (courage/beauty/warmth) vs. what draws him to Diana (imagination-- and smiles talking about it) and that he highly values imagination from people,

That's because his own ability to imagine things has been so vital to him. If you can't ever see the mountains, it's important that you be able to fully imagine them. One of the smaller details in Nan's writing that I appreciate so much is that she has Vincent sucking down all the movies and travelogues Diana rents for him, pausing a single image to study it, sometimes for so long that the VCR shuts off. It's the little things like that that make her writing so memorable to me.

Diana used her own status/experience to argue against Vincent's wrong path he was pursuing ("human standards apply to you, too; and you're WRONG")

This is so hugely important to their dynamic.

understanding that killing is a moral choice to Vincent (not a matter of expediency-- wait, wasn't killing an expediency to Catherine, especially in times of danger? Morals certainly took a backseat when it came to her rescue; but to V a life was a life),

Well, it was a moral choice and a matter of expediency. I think V believed that anyone who threatened an innocent with violence (not just Cathy) didn't fall within his own moral standards of where one might deserve a second chance. They were being an active threat to people he loved, so he eliminated that threat. Easy peasy. I kind of think he probably didn't give a whole lot of thought to those he'd killed until this toxic alchemy was created when the desire he felt for Cathy became hard to distinguish from his desire to protect her. When the one need began to feed the other, and vice versa. That's when things started to get sticky and eventually led to his downfall.

But Diana has been able to see things from both sides in a way V hasn't. She knows and is able to crawl inside the minds and emotions of both victim and perpetrator, so her moral authority is different from his - more highly refined, perhaps. And she expects him to operate on her level, not his. And, by God, he does it! He learns to see things differently, to make decisions more with his head than with his gut. She tells him flat out that he can't keep going around slaughtering people just because he's half out of his mind with grief and anger. Because that makes him operate in ways that betray her own moral standards and she knows he's better than that.

Sorry, I went on a tangent there, but the fic I'm working on right now explores a lot of these same issues, so it's up front in my mind.

emphasizing that the rules that applied to Catherine do not apply to Diana

Yes, sir, because the last thing D wants is for him to see her as someone else he has to kill for. She doesn't want that. She's determined that he not get caught up in that cycle of violence again. She making it clear that she's not Cathy, she's her own person with her own thoughts and needs and he has to accept that and respect it.

Her overall impression: “Man, Nanverse is hard mode.

Yeah, buddy, Nan never pulled any punches in her writing.

i was in the tags but I need to know more about your mastermind oc?? i SO so enjoy the red and diamond aesthetic you gave em (its also fun to look back and see which ocs get the good ol Red Diamond treatment?) oc lore!

I actually drew a lot of my Danganronpa ocs as the mastermind! It was a little art project I was doing (trying to draw all of my Danganronpa ocs as the mastermind) but then kinda gave up on. But the original one (and canon for the little universe I have set up with them) is Ziemaki!

I have so much lore for him it's insane.

In order to understand why Ziemaki is the mastermind, you need to understand his backstory. Before Hope's Peak, Ziemaki was always ostracized as a kid, to the point where his only friend for the majority of his childhood was a tree outside his school. One day, a higher-up at his school learned about this and decided to have the tree cut down. Not only so the school could expand, but also so, "That weird tree-hugger will finally have to get some actual friends." Ziemaki was, of course, devastated by this, and at the end of the school year, he followed that higher-up home and planted poison ivy (who he knew the higher-up was deathly allergic to) all around his house in an act of revenge.

Eventually he gets a letter from Hope's Peak claiming he's been scouted as the Ultimate Botanist, he gets his own little greenhouse and everything. It all seems alright (besides the Ultimate Nuclear Technician in the same class) for the first three years, until a Hope's Peak higher-up informs him that they're shrinking the size of the greenhouse to make more space for newer ultimates. He's unable to work out a deal with them and his greenhouse gets significantly sized down. A month or so after, Junko Enoshima from a class a couple years down from Ziemaki approaches him and manages to convince him to join her cause. He joins not for despair, but because he sees a very real possibility of forcing the world to recognize the beauty of plants through it.

He commissions a Monokuma from his classmate Hizzu, who originally designs it to be a companion. Later, once the Remnants of Despair have been created, he gets Kazuichi to install new technology into the Monokuma and reprogram it for his killing game. (Fun Fact! The fact that the Monokuma Ziemaki uses was not originally designed for the killing game is a huge part in the whole killing game falling apart.)

This leads into the event from his killing game. I'll gladly explain what happens if asked, but since this post is already getting very long, I won't include it in this post.
