TPW headcanons
i miss them so much(spoilers ahead)
if they were in the modern world, altan and rin would wear glasses and everyone would make fun of them. they would actually have abysmal eyesight even though they are super cool warriors.
also modern world; altan would be so technologically illiterate that everyone would make fun of him. hes like a grandpa, and rin (+ ramsa) would be obsessed with her phone. this is the only place nezha and altan would agree on!!! neither can use their phones and would have to ask rin and chaghan/the cike to help
altan and rin squabble like siblings over the dumbest stuff and then get over it in the next hour after swearing to everyone that they hate each other and would never talk to each other again. -> everyone is sick of their shit
conversely, nezha and altan also love fighting over shit!! altan mistrusts nezha bc.. yk, and nezha does not trust altan bc.. yk!! and rin is so done with them and she starts arguing with them too
kitay loves snakes and this freaks nezha out
altan has a phobia of spiders (i saw this somewhere else and it made sense)
ramsa and kitay are best friends. they are the chaotic duo. imagine it though… ramsa’s destructiveness and kitay’s gigantic brain. cross one of them and your room will smell like shit for the next three years.
qara and venka best friends!!!! i dont have any reasoning for this but they would be and gossip about everyone
altan and chaghan
during exam season, kitay would make fun of everyone else not being able to study easily like he can (not everyone can have a photographic memory, ok???) and everyone would tell him to shut the fuck up (he would not)
“haha i dont know how you guys do it!!! like having to memorise things after sooo long,, must be a struggle”
“THIS IS THE FIFTH TIME KITAY PLEASE SHUT UP I DONT KNOW THIS SUNZI QUOTE”
until a year before he went to sinegard, nezha didnt know how to swim. i know that it very uncanon but i would find it so funny if nezha (water boy) did not know how to swim
obviously his parents would not be very happy with him. poor nezha, cant catch a break…
altan may appear to be tough and cool and sexy (i love him) but he has the most childish sense of humour. sex jokes etc etc, and rin would have such a distaste for this they would start arguing again.
altan is also so soft on the inside. if any of qara’s birds were injured he would stay up to help them no matter what!!! altan trengsin - murderer, killer and the protector of birds <3
after he dies and rin melts down his trident, he would be so pissed at her for destroying his legacy yada yada yada, but would probably forgive her
chaghan was devastated when rin destroyed the trident. he wanted it because it was the last piece of altan :(
however nezha would probably sleep with those swords after rin dies.
kitay and rin would share a tombstone in arlong, to be joined by nezha after he dies… probably bc of the hesperians lol
altan and rin have a tombstone in speer. even though nezha hated altan, he would make one for him.
‘here lies altan trengsin and fang runin, the last speerlies, under the heart of the phoenix that they followed home - everything changes on speer’
unegen and enki visited them. idk where they went off too after leaving the cike, but i like to believe they lived, and found speer.
nezha and chaghan regularly visited speer to pay tribute to their speerly bros that died and that they loved lol. once they saw each other and they were like ‘oh you too?’.
i feel like jiang knew (even subconsciously) that rin was his daughter and loved her as such :( he also loved his nephew altan but couldnt protect either.
rin and nezha have opposite music tastes
kitay hates music because it hurts his head
I MISS THEM SO MUCH. if someone wants to talk about tpw i am here 25/8/365

Doc Holliday x Reader
Holliday likes what he sees, and he will let it be known.
Dedicated to @callsignscupcake
They of course wouldn’t actually say this back then, but how can I resist?
♡♡♡
Tombstone was a unique place. Therefore, it brought along some unique characters. One such person was a favourite of yours.
John Holliday, or Doc to literally everyone.
Doc didn’t know you at all. You had never dared approach the man, but you have seen him around a lot. Gambling, drinking, walking and talking with the Earp brothers. He always seemed to be around somewhere.
The man in question was up ahead talking to Wyatt Earp. You were doing some chores in town when you spotted him. You couldn’t help but admire him. The pair seemed to be in deep conversation, so you could admire them without concern of them catching you.
Doc was a dying man with a strange sense of humour, but you liked that about him. He was kind to those who gave kindness and stood up to those who tried to start a fight. Doc was also quick on the draw. You had been lucky enough to even witness his gunslinging skills.
A voice called out to the pair from behind you. The two men turned to see who was there. You had a split second to move and make it look like you hadn’t been standing there staring. You kept your head down as you walk, hoping they hadn’t noticed at all.
A pair of eyes follow you as you walk across the street and then disappear out of sight.
You don’t see Doc for a couple days after that. You’ve been busy getting on with things. Keeping to yourself. Business as usual.
It wasn’t until one evening, while making your way home, that things changed. You were lost in your own mind as you made the walk through town. A walk you knew like the back of your hand. You hadn’t even noticed him step out of the shadows until his arm was around you, and you were then facing the other way. Your snapped back to find yourself tangled up with Doc Holliday himself.
Hs hand was settled on your hip as his arm crossed over your stomach, blocking you from moving. He was flush against your side, or more so, you were flush against his. His crystal eyes shone with mischief as his lips quirked upward into a cheeky grin.
The fox had the rabbit.
“A fine evening for two fine people to meet, wouldn’t you agree?” He says, coughing a little at the end.
“Pardon?”
“Not yet. I feel your eyes on me, but our gazes never quite meet. Always fleeing the scene before we ever get a chance to speak.”
You look around you, but only find that everyone else is just passing by and getting on with their day. You’re not quite sure what’s happening and find yourself at a slight loss.
“I don’t understand,” you say.
He chuckles slightly and lowers his arm from you. You find yourself turning rather chilly without his touch upon you.
“I see you often, but you always disappear before I can even make a move. Are we destined to be in this town together but never meet? Does a dying man not get a chance with pleasant company? Perhaps my reputation chases you away.”
You frown.
“Not at all. You’re one of the best gunslingers in this town.”
He perks up at that. Plush lips quirked into a cheeky grin.
“Is that so?”
“You know so,” you say. “If you don’t mind, I was on my way home.”
Holliday does not move. Instead, he offers you his arm. You stare at it with confusion. He couldn’t possibly be offering to walk you home. Surely, he has a game to win, a drink to have, Earps to keep company.
“May I?” He asks, seeing you not make a move to accept.
Well, you do after that.
Doc feels rather smug as you take his arm and allow him the honour of your company. You both walk casually through town, with you guiding him the way.
Not once does he take his eyes off of you. You can feel his steely gaze on you as you walk.
“What is it that captured your gaze, darling?”
You avoid meeting his eyes as you look ahead.
“What are you talking about?”
“Do you think I don’t know? That I haven’t seen you? Always looking from afar, never stepping any closer. The beauty that’s forever out of reach. Never have I wanted something more,” he says, voice dropping low, lips drawing ever closer to your ear.
You swallow softly.
How can one man hold all the cards and show them to you before the game is over? Unless he’s bluffing, but what does he benefit from that? He doesn’t know you.
“Your pursuit signals are confusing me. Is this genuine?” You ask him.
“I have never been more honest in my life.”
“How could John Holliday possibly want to waste his time with me?” You ask.
“Waste? Not at all. People like you are rare in a town like this. I am lucky to even be given a moment of your time now.”
“You came up to me,” you remind him.
“Exactly. You were never going to come to me willingly. I had to take matters into my own hands and snare you into my trap.”
“Trap?”
“These arms, dear. A cage you may never wish to be freed from.”
He was smooth. Smoother than you thought possible. It was clear why people were either fond of him or despised him. He knew how to work the opinions of others.
You come to a stop, and he stops with you.
“This is me,” you say.
Doc turns to the house. It’s small and out of the way of the main city streets. Yes, it’s quite you, he thinks.
Reluctantly, he lets go of you. Yet, you don’t move from his side. You meet his eyes at last and he smiles.
“I feared you were repulsed at the sight of me.”
You’re shocked to hear that.
“How could anyone be repulsed at the sight of you? I’m sure handsome men like you get many gazes from others,” you say.
“Quite. Not all friendly.”
You laugh softly. That seems to please him.
Holliday reaches for your hand and holds it within his. He keeps his eyes on yours as he stares at you. You have to turn away after a moment as his gaze becomes too much to hold.
“May our paths cross again.”
“Should you be so lucky,” you say, finding your boldness.
“Oh, I do not need luck.”
You find yourself smiling at him.
“Then I look forward to our next meeting, Doc.”
He grins.
“As do I, darling. As do I.”
He releases your hand from his and lets you move to your house. He stands there and watches you go. Before you are able to disappear into the house, he calls out to you.
“Perhaps next time you would like to ride with me, as opposed to away from me. Save the horse, ride the cowboy, dearest.”
He tips his hat before taking his leave.
You’re left staring at his back as he goes.
Something tells you you’re in for quite the adventure wherever he is concerned. It’s one adventure you find yourself eager to take part in. Doc Holliday was right. His arms are a cage you would willingly fly into.
Perhaps sooner than you think.

1 - I am
Tears fought through breath.
Breathe through pain and panic.
Breathe and think.
Think of the stars.
I am.
I am a mosaic of the people around me.
I am the one who didn't tell me no when I needed to hear it.
I am the one who broke me.
I am those who loved me when I couldn't, when I can't, when I won't be able to.
I am my dead brother.
I am his laugh, his anger, his humour.
I am his stupidity and his wisdom.
I am his empty steam profile.
I am the candle my mother lights still on his black tombstone.
I am the beers my father drinks to forget. His son and his older brother. His father and his mother.
I am my parents' guilt.
I am the red to his blue.
I am.
I am sad.
I am better.
I am in love and loved.
I am me.
But I am also them.
And that is the best me I can be.

! Red Camellias !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw:- character death, talks of suicide(typical dazai stuff)
genre:- hopefully angst!
pairing :- dazai x gn!reader
Tumblr media
The sky was a clear blue.
fluffy clouds making their way above the heads of many.
Many who had no idea he was gone
But,whether it be by bad luck or fate, you didnt know.
A suicidal fool with the wackiest sense of humour now lay dead before you.
Six feet under.just as he’d always wanted…
You sat down before his tombstone, name and date still clearly visible in the freshly cut marble.
A bouquet of Red camellias hit the grown right beside you.
Red camellias, mostly used to honour the dead and the seemingly dead.
He’d told you this everytime you passed  a florist;much to your annoyance at the time
But now the only feeling that threatened to overwhelm you was grief.
Grief for the man you loved.
Grief for dazai osamu.
You pulled out a flower from the bouquet and began scattering the petals all around you,all while not moving from your spot on his grave.
After you were done you just sat and thought.
Just a week ago at this very time he’d been telling you about one of his discoveries in the field of suicide methods.
Something about getting stuck in a barrel?
He followed up this statement with a fond memory he had had, getting stuck in an actual trash can with no one to rescue him.
You couldn’t help but scoff at how enthusiastically he recounted the event, looking over at you once every few words to see your reaction.
You ,knowing this, made sure not to give him any such reaction.
The truth was, you’d fallen for him
The suicidal maniac whose motto was "Have a pure, cheerful, and energetic suicide."
He may have been a pain in the ass every now and then, but he knew how to make you smile.how to make  let your guard down.how to listen and comfort when listening and comforting was desperately needed.
He by no means had all the answers, but he always made sure to at least try,and now you cursed him for being able to worm his way into your heart.
“Hey y/n!” he’d said right after popping out of a random alley, “how would you feel if I Actually dieddd”
The smile on his face would have been a concerning  sight for anyone, anyone that is,except you.
You were used to his senile laughter and weird little questions, its one of the reasons you’d fallen for him in the first place.
“id celebrate and dance on your grave <3” was your answer
For a moment it looked like he stopped all together, but then that turtle-looking smile of his spread across his face.
“wouldn’t expect anything less of ya!” he said while slinging an arm around you and as you walked together,he rambled on,but you didn’t mind.
But now he’d never ramble again.not to you.not to chuuya ,not to atsushi not to, kunikida not to anyone.
And with that thought, your tears began to flow.
The memories would fade, time would pass, his headstone would crumble and decay, but tragically enough, you knew your love for him wouldn’t waver

WHICH FAMOUS WRITER DO I WRITE LIKE?
I write like Hector Hugh Munro 'Saki'
After all, my author partially inspired me in Saki's alter ego and self-insert, the witty upper-class hater and trickster Lord Clovis Sangrail.
I embrace Saki's lost queerness, which he was never allowed to express and enjoy and which had to remain a secret for homosexuality was a crime during his lifetime in England. Queerness we only know about because even after his death his sister hated him enough to let the world know he was a queer, all that while burning into ashes the bulk of his works.
I express spite against the rich and spoiled, using his clever language and subtle humour of the oblivious.
Just like Saki, I will die young in a war no longer mine and only a handful of people will ever appreciate my acts of bravery and mischief.
I write like Saki, and embrace Saki. I wish I could kiss his tombstone and lay a lily on it for healing me with unrest.
Or I wish I wrote like Saki, because he was my inspiration and he is part of me, and because his story wounds me.
I was not tagged but I stole this respectfully from the lovely @saviourofzaun

Saw that you said you’ve seen 11 adaptations of Great Expectations? So curious on your rankings and which ones you like the most/reccomend!
OMG AHAH YES... It's even more than 11 now! Including theatre productions, even went to one recently :')  English is not my native language, BUT..
I rank them, but mostly for myself, as the criteria is very specific.
But I can recommend them! I'll talk mostly about the ones I liked, because the ones I hated could be talked about forever.
Naturally, the 1946 version is good, even if it has a romantic ending (which I personally can't stand, but it's present in 90% of the adaptations, so if it happens in the final seconds, you can tolerate it). At least the atmosphere is retained and the film is really great.
I also really liked the 1922 silent black and white Danish film, there's something special about it. Naturally, it was quite shabby, but the actors show everything perfectly with their facial expressions. And most importantly, it's atmospheric and funny. I highly recommend watching it if only for the sake of the experience! I was especially hooked by the very first scene. It's very rare that an adaptation pays more attention to it than the scene where Pip and Magwitch meet. When, as in the book, it's quite sad, as Pip strokes tombstones and fantasises about what his parents might have looked like. So in the film it takes a certain amount of time and he just lies by the tombstones while the wind ripples the grass and you can see the gallows in the background.
For me in general, the most important thing about an adaptation of Great Expectations is that it has to be funny and tragic. Humour is such an important part of the book, and black humour at that.
The 1999 series isn't bad either, although it's quite dark. But here I was sometimes confused by the presentation of the characters, but it's definitely very good compared to many others.
But my personal favourite is the 1989 series, I like everything about this adaptation. And it's naturally tasteful, but all the characters behave the way I expect them to! Especially Pip, Estella and Herbert, they generally often screw up in their character writing in adaptations. In this version, Pip is literally the best I've ever seen.
And Miss Havisham, how gorgeous she is! She is, by the way, played by the actress who played Estella in the 1946 version! (and who better to play Miss Havisham than Estella, ahah).
There's a lot in this adaptation that's often cut or portrayed in a way that's better not tried. Hammersmith with the Pockets family, Wemmick's house is charming with A.P. and Miss Skiffins! What a delightful Joe and Biddy there...... And the fight scene between Pip and Herbert? Wonderful. Funny, ridiculous and with a complete lack of any aggression, as it should be. Pip and Herbert are great here in general, very nice.
In short, yes. Favourite adaptation.
The 1981 series isn't bad either!
In other adaptations I usually only like certain elements, or the way certain moments are played around.
And it's often just a shame that good actors are used so poorly.
I don't like the 2011 and 2012 versions at all, although I've seen 2012 occasionally praised. But how bad is it for me.... Such disrespect to Estella's character. Not to mention the others, Pip I can't digest here at all. Literally the only good thing I could see for myself was the use of Handel's nickname. But there's a very strange Herbert here and it looks very vulgar and not sincere.
In both these versions Miss Havisham is played by eminent admirable actresses, but how strangely the character of the heroine is turned out by the writers... Such wasted potential with such a cast. There are especially a lot of questions for 2011 in terms of Miss Havisham. Brr. I also hate it when Biddy is made whiny and helplessly in love with Pip. So does Estella...
( Also a shame about Harry Lloyd as Herbert, how little he was and how hastily he was cut. It's a strange desire to cut Herbert out of the plot, to fuse him somewhere. Often, he and Pip aren't even close friends, it's like they're no more than neighbours and drinking buddies. There is no deep connection and no tender loyal friendship).
The 1974 version is neither good nor bad, but rather odd. But I was amused by the scene where Molly is forced to show her strength. She and Drummle wrestle at arm's length and he, of course, shamefully loses.
Here I decided to slow down and not describe absolutely everything I've watched so the post doesn't get any longer. (God I hope you find this post at all useful... And I hope you'll respond.Honestly, if you get the urge to discuss it, I'd be delighted!)
Although it's impossible not to mention the Australian cartoon 1983. It's so bad it's good. It's so fucked up. Had the odd pleasure of watching it, but of course it's bad.
But. Most of all, I hate the 2023 version with all my heart. It doesn't have a single silver lining. It's just disgusting and unbearable to watch, they wanted to look at the story in a new way but fucked up absolutely everything. What a waste of cool cast, impossible.

🍓 has been watching an old cartoon/anime called Transformers: Cybertron and enjoying the english dub. Finding out different voice actors is always fun but more than that, the sass and humour in the English dub has been a hoot for her.
[ Excerpt from the first episode: ]
Starscream: "You're next old man."
Landmine: "Landmine's the name. And you better remember it!"
Starscream: "Oh I will. And I'll put it on your tombstone!"
🍓 also has a THING for Jetfire. In her defense, he's the reliable type and that makes her swoon. Plus his design was cool to her back then as a kid and even now. Very different from his other animations but the green and white looks good for him! Better than the white and red of other animations or the super ugly old movie version from the second movie "Transformers: Revenge of the fallen". (Yes he is that old Jet plane Decepticon they found in the museum.)
Tumblr media
Also 🍓 didn't know Starscream had an immortal Allspark. How fascinating to learn that! If only he wasn't , yanno , kinda dumb¹ about the way he does things.
¹ - 🍓's onii-san would like mention that Starscream isn't kinda dumb but instead very dumb

I like to read your thoughts on IM comics. What were your thoughts on invincible iron man #6, i am ironman #3 and avengers (2023) #1
Hi anon! I'll gladly give you my thoughts.
Invincible Iron Man #6:
This run stays good, and has been consistently good for 6 issues now, which gives me hope that it will stay that good for the rest of it. I liked seeing 80s Tony, and his run-in with Emma was a fun and believable retcon. It does make me think that Emma and Tony being an item at some point in the future is likely, but at least Duggan builds it up, unlike Cantwell someone else. I think that even if the plot itself gets worse (which I don't really think it will), I will still enjoy this run because of the characterization. Look at these gems:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are so many characterization moments that just make sense, and it has been that way in every issue so far. I love it. I also love that all the call-backs to his past seem to serve a purpose, and to me it feels like Duggan really knows what he's talking about and not just making a surface-level reference. The blend of seriousness and humour that Duggan writes really works for me. I like that Tony has moments of self-reflection, I like how determined he is to stop Feilong. The mix of recklessness and calculation that Tony shows is peak Tony to me. He uses his brain, but his emotions run high. Yes!
Also there are always fun panels, like this one: insert meme caption [me when I write fanfiction at three a.m.]
Tumblr media
I Am Iron Man #3:
A touching issue. The start felt a bit weird and stilted to me, and I suspected that Tony was reciting lines/playacting. I was relieved when it turned out to be the case. The best part about this issue is the various Maria and Tony flashbacks. It made me a little emotional, to imagine that Tony's (only) best friend was his mother. They loved each other so much..... I am sad. This was my favourite panel:
Tumblr media
Tony and Maria working on a car together? chef's kiss.
Now, this might be a little bit of an unpopular opinion but I can't fully enjoy the I Am Iron Man series because I can't really get into the writing style and art style. But I almost always like the Tony characterization, the humour is fun, and I love the Tony-Rhodey friendship. Also, Ayodele and Akande LOVE Tony and that really shows through and it's so refreshing to read. As fellow Iron Man fans, I love that they're doing an Iron Man series.
My nitpicky thoughts about this issue: 1. The tombstone with "Tony's best friend" is touching but makes zero sense and I found it a little too on the nose. 2. Tony's armour and his facial hair do not match in the last panels. He had a goatee at the time.
I do think that I haven't really been able to get into the series because the execution of the story didn't really work for me. The themes are great, though. Next issue will take place during Director of Shield Tony, and I think it will make or break my general opinion of the run. I have a very specific interpretation of what Tony's headspace is like during that time.
Avengers #1:
(under a cut because this post is getting long and the issue came out last week)
Great start of the run. I really loved the Tony and Carol interaction, and that it reminded us that Tony and Carol are good friends and important to each other. Carol mentioning that Tony is her sponsor is so good. I liked how everyone was portrayed, it's very promising. Carol and her talk about the Avenger's purpose and what they do was amazing. MacKay's insistence that the Avengers are not cops, but people who fight every day to save lives, to save the world, is very welcome.
Tumblr media
I also really liked this:
Tumblr media
I think that MacKay knows what he's doing, and the voices and characterization of every character felt good to me. I'm excited that Tony is the Executive Officer of the Avengers, the number two. I think that this position is one where Tony has the potential to excel.
The interactions between team members were fun, too. No artificial hostility, a good deal of trust and familiarity, even some joking! I hope that MacKay will continue on this line of "the avengers are more than just co-workers". It's nice to have them be friends, even though there are tensions (between Sam and T'Challa for now). The plot itself seems interesting, but it's too early for me to form an opinion.
Thanks for reading! Have a soft Tony for the road:

An Album of Christmas Carols - 2
This older, black-and-white adaptation of A Christmas Carol has a very, very dear place in my heart. Let's get into it.
(The film, not my heart).
Tumblr media
"Scrooge" (1951, Alistair Sim)
He has this expression for most of the film. In this 1951 adaptation, we get some real mileage out of exploring the dynamic between Scrooge and Marley, including the touching scene of Scrooge waiting until after business hours to visit his dying "friend", then complaining he can't hear him through the death-rattle. Also the undertaker is my spirit animal. I love him.
Ghosts? Ghosts!
This version of the story spends a little time with some original scenes establishing Scrooge as a miser. He eats thin soup in a dimly lit tavern and reconsiders ordering more bread when the innkeep informs him it's tuppence.

We get the usual appearances from Marley, via door knocker and servants' bells, before the man himself appears before Scrooge in the woobiest fashion I've ever seen. Some Marleys seem actively delighted to torment their former partner, this one really drums home the despair of eternal damnation, and oh boy can he scream. We also get a harrowing scene of shades throwing ghostly money at a starving, freezing mother and child, lamenting that they can no longer help - and should have done before.
Scrooge runs under the covers and - I guess - somehow still manages to fall asleep.

Christmas Past appears like a wise, ancient figure who has possibly escaped from a care home in their pyjamas. The filmmakers do a good job of making him look 'eerie' and do manage to keep a bit of that androgyny, Scrooge is shown his school, his sister, his apprenticeship, his failed engagement, and then - my favourite part of the film - the extended original scenes of Scrooge and Marley's partnership. We see them grow up as businessmen, then ruthless capitalists, and finally Marley dying and Scrooge barely giving a fuck.
Scrooge turns up to the home to visit the ailing Marley and meets an undertaker waiting.
Scrooge: "Who's that, the doctor?"
Housekeeper: "No sir, the undertaker..."
Scrooge: "Don't believe in letting the grass grow under your feet, do you?"
Undertaker: "Ours is a highly competitive profession, sir."
He's great, I love him.

Christmas Present goes right for the jugular and even gets some good ol' Christian message in about Scrooge not having properly sought the Jesus. We see the Cratchits' dinner, the nephew's party, a few blistering remarks from Christmas Present and the object lesson of Ignorance and Want (which incidentally always comes off very strange emerging from a grown man's fur-lined dressing gown). He disappears off-screen to an echoing "are there no prisons!?" and blam:

Christmas Yet To Come blasts into existence with a pale hand and a big black robe and Scrooge reluctantly follows to see the Cratchits mourning Tiny Tim, and the vultures selling Scrooge's belongings at Old Joe's - with bonus extra appearance from the undertaker!
Scrooge is shown his own tombstone, which elicits as 12-second long wail as he collapses on his face (great lung capacity for an old geezer) and he awakes in his bedroom. Giddy for joy, he scares the living daylights out of his housekeeper by flashing her.
(Okay, he actually does a handstand on a chair but his nightgown kinda slips and the housekeeper screams after throwing her apron into her face for modesty).
Highlights & Humbugs
I didn't say much about Bob and Nephew Fred because they're both a bit wet blankets in this film - the best bits are all the original additions, from the undertaker, to the extended role given to Marley's (later Scrooge's) housekeeper Mrs Dilber, as well as Alistair Sim's constantly shocked/confused/digusted/bug-eyed expression throughout most of the proceedings.
For an older film I still feel it's held up pretty well. Pacing is a lot slower than you'd find these days but it lets the humour (and drama) hit hard. A strong 9/10 Humbugs. One deducted for not enough undertaker.
