As a bridesmaid, Y/n meets one of the groomsmen, Zuko, at her sisters pre wedding dinner and hit it off so well, he asks her out. Y/n's sister warns her not to get too close. She decides to follow her advice but keeping him at arms length proves more difficult than she expects...

Wait listen‐totally out of the blue but modern!au atla in a high-school or college setting. Zuko x reader btw

Listen listen. Zuko drops down from being a cool popular kid after he joins the gaang,but also? He's kinda the school's crush. Like yes, most of azula's fans and many kids in general from the fire nation dont like Zuko anymore, but many people develop a crush on him. And he's so painfully oblivious to it.

And the gaang is always making fun of his loser aesthetic, posting him on social media and forcing him to actually start using his social media account. He never does use it much except for reposting photos and statuses his friends have on there.

Until you.

He was especially struggling with a problem and awkwardly asked you for help. You were technically just polite out of general respect but you were... really nice. And he groans into his pillow at night when he realizes that small interaction has an irrational grip on him. To make it worse? Sokka from the other side of the classroom saw it and made it his personal mission to track down your socials.

With a lot of pain and difficulty (none, actually. Turns out Suki is quite media-literate), the gaang manages to find your account and send it to the group chat. For once, Zuko's.. actually trying to do normal social media things. Some of them start bickering on whether or not Zuko should send a follow request, but by the time they're done, you've already accepted it, and Zuko curiously scrolls through your profile. The gaang frantically tells him not to like your old photos, he's confused at the concept, but begrudgingly listens anyway. If this happens when they're all meeting up, then they huddle around Zuko and watch the tiny screen and point out all things about your little profile, and ogle at every tidbit of your life. If it happens when they're all at home, then they collectively cyberstalk you, sending various screenshots to the groupchat and discussing about you.

You on the other hand, only know Zuko as the kind of cute, awkward guy who needed your help with a math problem. You wondered if you messed something up while explaining the problem to him, and then brushed it off and forgot about it entirely until you woke up one day and noticed his entire friend group had viewed your status. A few of them had even liked it. (Ahem, Aang and Toph).

It's not soon until one of them actually comes up and talks to you, because Zuko is deathly afraid of messing things up, and he stutters so much everytime Sokka makes him practice talking to you, it's like a lost cause. Of course, in the end, it's Katara and Suki to the rescue! All three of you get along surprisingly well. It's only a matter of time until you actually get added to the friend group. Until then, maybe pretend Zuko's acting skills are believable as he asks for your help with the simplest problems, to borrow your stationaries, and make awkward small talk. You go along with it anyway. He's cute.

Avatar AU where everything is the same except they all have phones for no explicable reason. This AU features:

-Aang, with the oldest, lamest phone possible. He doesn't know what emojis are.

-The White Lotus, as a Facebook group that pretends to be about Pai Sho and plant care.

-Toph, constantly explaining that yes, she has a tiktok, and yes, text to speech is a real feature that blind people use to read things on the internet. Yes, she knows what the internet is.

-Sokka creates an Instagram for Momo. It is almost entirely pictures of Momo sleeping or eating. It has 60k followers.

-King Bumi has a tumblr. And only a tumblr.

-The Firelord's official Twitter account (the one that makes bs statements about current events and has the coldest takes known to mankind, you know the type) isn't run by Ozai, but by Azula. (This is her only experience with social media, largely because Ozai is "too busy" to run his own twitter, and makes his fourteen year old do it.)

-Ozai's personal account is pictures of him shirtless and trying to be sexy. Most people think it's a parody account.

-Zuko's first experience with social media is when he tries to set up a few accounts on different platforms to advertise the Jasmine Dragon. He has no idea what's he's doing (not unusual for Zuko).

thank u for asking me abt my secret tytara agenda so like i said in the server it's gotta be a modern au with social media, and it's gotta be enemies to lovers. ideally enemies to friends to lovers. ty lee has to be portrayed like. accurate to her actual character and not the nonsense way most people portray her as. so she gets to be mean, manipulative, fake as hell, AND also full of love and light. she can be all of those things! canon supports that version of her! so ofc with all these awful traits, ty lee is an influencer. i'm thinking tiktok but like addison rae tiktok like she's marketing herself to straight white neurotypicals, the whole shebang. she is, naturally, problematic but popular anyway.

katara on the other hand... well first, she's herself again not like fanon katara. she is a social justice advocate who's like twitter famous and also makes video essays on youtube. she does a whooole video essay about anti-indigenous racism in influencer culture, dissecting language and appropriation and colorism and all that kind of stuff, and she namedrops ty lee as one of those racist influencers.

now ty lee has a brand to protect. she is NOT getting canceled in this lifetime! so she reaches out to katara, fake as ever, saying she saw the video, she's been doing some theory reading, etc, and she wants to know if katara would be willing to sit down with her and do a video where they discuss where to go from being called out. all for pr purposes ofc, ty lee is a girlboss that way.

katara messages back, thinking ty lee is being fake as fuck which she is, and calls her on her shit. they start a little feud in their dms that katara, who is a cancer, would expose through screenshots because she's messy and passionate that way. ty lee says, "fuck, now i've really got to get a handle on this." she asks mai and azula what she should do. azula is not helpful, suggests framing katara for a crime or cancelable offense (now is not the time for white collar girlbossery). mai is reasonable and suggests ty lee just try actually learning the error of her ways or something because she's exasperated with this conversation. ty lee begrudgingly reads a book or two and then issues a more sincere but still petty motivated apology to katara and anyone else she's hurt with her actions.

katara sees this, shows her friends, and toph encourages her to be messy and do an actual video with ty lee after all to see if she really has changed, esp since katara has been getting death threats and crazy shit like that from ty lee's deranged sycophants. and azula on her burner account that she had to be taught to make for this purpose. katara goes through with it, realizes ty lee is a bit of an asshole but she's not fundamentally a bad person, and also katara has gay panic because ty lee is 100% very flirty and friendly during this.

FBI zukka and the Coldest Flames?

so that's about Zuko as an FBI agent and he hires Sokka and it just really really cute anyways onto my FBI zukka story

it's a little different in that Zuko is part of the BAU (serial killer unit) and basically he cracks down on a big case on two serial killer brothers, captures one, and the other is presumed dead.

They. Are. Not. Dead.

zuko and sokka are quite open about their relationship on social media and so this guy is able to quickly find out where sokka is and he’s a bit of a sadist and wants to get revenge on zuko

so he kidnaps sokka and leaves clues for zuko, with the intention that the final clue lead zuko to sokka’s mutilated dead body.

zuko, however, is quite stubborn. and his boyfriend will not die.

the coldest flames is a firebender!sokka au where kya was attacked in a raid and nine months later sokka appeared, however he looks identical to kya soooo the swt fam is hoping for the best

when sokka is three he firebends for the first time: hakoda was in the meeting hall discussing winter supplies and stuff when a blizzard hit and they had to stay there; kanna was caring for katara because have you tried to entertain two kids during a blizzard that shows no sign of ending soon, yeah didn’t think so

so it’s just kya and sokka in the igloo and the fire goes out, sokka wakes up, relights it, and then goes back to sleep. in the morning, their igloo door is blocked by snow and so while the men are trying to dig them out, kya explains to sokka that he can’t firebend around the village (tries to sell it as: it’s our little secret kind of thing)

sokka doesn’t tell anyone, kya dies, the men go off, and aang appears. at some stage (idk when) the gaang will learn of sokka’s bending and the news will travel that there is a swt firebender, all the way to the fire nation court

remember that asshole who attacked kya? yeah he’s now a general because his older siblings died in the siege of Ba Sing Se and he became heir, and then lord of the estate, and he hears of the kid and doesn’t really think much of it tbh

but then on the airships when sokka breaks his leg and is dangling toph over the side he pauses, and walks forwards and then:

“You look just like your mother.”

cue the kidnapping :))))))

Zuko's P.O.V.

As Naomi watched my daughter I couldn't help but to pace back and forth outside the temple, with one of my hands on my hips. I was trying to wrap my head around this whole thing. Was she really gone? No she couldnt be gone. Could she? I was also scared to lose her to my sister, but over her giving birth I never dreamed. Maybe she was too stressed. I know we both were. In which case Azula technically did kill her and I'll be planning my revenge against her.

"Zuko..."

"Uncle dont try to talk me out of anything because it wont work. Azula did this to her and I'm gonna make her pay"

I could hear the anger rising in my voice as I spoke.

"I wasnt going to nephew, I was just going to say I have laid Y/n down to rest on her final resting place if you would like to say goodbye to her"

Once again I started to pace.

"No....I can't say goodbye to her...I won't just...let me get back at Azula for what she did"

"Get back at me, yeah right I'd like to see you try,"

He mocking tone sent fire coursing through my spine and I didnt even notice how I had made fire daggers appear in my hands.

"You did this!!" I shouted in pure rage.

"Guilty" she smirked with a mocking laugh.

I shot a fire blast at her throwing her back into the pole.

"I should've ended you when I had the chance!"

"But you didn't, why is that I wonder. Must be the good heart you got from mother. I'm glad I took after father"

I could feel the anger boiling hotter within the second and all I could see was the hot orange fire blast I had now aimed directly at my sister. Of course she had to immediately defend herself with her blue fire. At that moment I didnt care. I was determined to win. I breathed heavily from the rage and the will power it took to keep from breaking my end. Azula knew I was in a weakened state and unfortunately used this to her advantage. She made her flame larger, dissipating mine knocking me to the ground.

"Face it Zuko, you've never been as strong as me and never will be" Azula laughed mockingly as she stepped closer.

I rested up on my elbows again as I looked at her. I could see out of the corner of my eye Mai and Jett staying back and out of the way. Smart choice on their end. I stared at my sister directly.

"What are you waiting for then? End it,"

Azula smirked, "Oh I will and I'm gonna enjoy it,"

My heart raced as she made lightening come from her finger tips. Though I could feel at that moment a slight sense of peace because I knew I would see Y/n again.

"Zuko no!" My uncle called out.

"Stay back uncle its okay,"

"No!"

My uncle tried to go after my sister but all she did was knock him down and smirked back at me. I knew she was enjoying this too much. Just as she made the lightening bigger a large amount of air was shot directly towards us and my head turned so quickly to the side I almost gave myself whiplash.

"How many times have I told you Azula??? Leave me and Zuko alone!"

A bright smile came to my face.

"Y/n??"

Despite not wanting to tears actually came to my face seeing her. Not to mention even more pure joy seeing the look of anger that crossed my sisters face.

"What?! That's not possible!" Azula cursed in anger.

"Surprise bitch-"

A blue fire blast was shot her way but it was quickly extinguished with air. I smirked watching her feeling ever so glad to have met her.

Y/n's P.o.V

I laughed looking at Azula. A part of me honestly couldnt believe how pathetic she was.

"That all you got" I taunted.

It was worth it to see how angry she was becoming. She shot another fire blast at me and once again I blocked. Once the fire was diminished, I kept an air circle going and Naomi shot fire directly into the air circle causing it shoot directly at Azula. She looked shocked and a little scared. Again a fire blast from the girl only made this more fun for me. Noami threw a bucket of water into the air circle. I was able to manipulate the water and knock her directly onto her feet with it. The surprised look on her face actually made a laugh escape my lips. However she didnt give up as she stood to her feet shooting a larger blue flame at me. I made a side ways cyclone to dissipate it being knocked back a few feet. Naomi turned it up a notch and threw in several rocks, catching her off guard knocking her down again.

"Had enough yet?"

I smirked proudly.

"Never,"

She stood to her feet, forming lightning in her hands aiming it directly at me. I didn't hesitate for even a second making a larger cyclone appear. Noami took charge, throwing fire, water and earth into it allowing me to manipulate all elements giving it everything I've got making Azula fall weakly to the ground. She panted as I stepped closer.

"How?"

"I may not be the Avatar, Azula, but I am an Airbender and I know how to manipulate other elements, so yes I am stronger than you. Deal with it. Now I am going to take Zuko back to Ba Sing Se where our family is and you are never and I mean never going to hurt my family or friends ever again!"

She chuckled, "You'll never get Mai and Jett on your side," she mocked.

I snickered, "Sorry to tell you sweetheart but they took off...together, so you're on your own"

I turned my back to her laughing as I walked over to Zuko helping him stand up.

"You alright Zu?" I asked him softly.

"Yes I'm fine but...How are you alive?" He asked dumbfounded.

"I didnt mean to scare you love but it was the only way I could think to defeat Azula, please dont be angry with me"

He just looked at me for a moment before quickly wrapping his arms around me holding me tightly.

"Angry? I could never be angry with you. I was just scared,"

He buried his face in my neck as gentle tears fell from his eyes.

"Its okay I'm here my love, you didnt tell any of our friends I was dead did you?"

His eyes widened as he looked at me.

"Zuko?!"

"They had a right to know and I thought you were gone,"

I couldnt help to smile softly at him.

"I guess they did," I chuckled, "Come on we will go tell them together as we check on our daughter together,"

I took his hand smiling gently as I walked inside with him. I wasnt sure how today was gonna turn out but I can tell you one thing I'm not disappointed and now I dont have to be afraid anymore. I can finally be happy with the one I truly love.
