Hii! 😊 I just read your latest post with Kayden x childreader and Jiwoo and it was as good as the previous parts 👌🏽 Especially I liked the little scenarios based on the actual story and how well you managed to put childreader into it. My absolute favourite part was when reader had a conversation with Ameyong in the hospital and she was SO SASSY 😂 (the “I throw you out the window” part had me cackling 🤭) It actually reminded me of Kayden’s character so much.
Sooo… here I am with an idea based on this, asking if you could write some little scenarios /headcannons /little fic (literally whatever you choose) with childreader that took over majority of Kayden’s character traits (she’s with him since she was very little so it’s likely that she took after him) and it shows so openly 🥹 I picture this moment after Kartein joins them, so when they all see her acting like mini Kayden version, Kartein points it out to him and Kayden has his ‘proud dad moment’ 😭❤️
Sorry for it being so long but I got really excited after I read your post and got this idea. If it’s something you don’t feel like writing it’s fine, I just though that I share it with you! Take care! 🥰
I'm glad you like my fic and it's a really cute idea as well so here's come head cannons and a few short fics
Head Cannons
*Child reader always copies the hair style Kayden wears. She also has little baby hairs that stick out, which she clips back with clips that look like lightning bolts
* child readers transformation is a little 2 month old orange kitten, she has the same stripes as Kayden. Unlike Kayden she's really small and fluffy, she can fit in Jiwoo's front pocket.
* she doesn't use this form at home unless guests are around ( Baekdu doesn't know you can transform they saw you walking outside with Jiwoo in human form)
* at first she complained like Kayden about being carried in kitten form, but she started liking it cause she can feel warm and feel Jiwoo's heartbeat in his pocket.
* after the kidnapping incident she stays in Jiwoo's pocket and hisses at dangerous people who come near to Jiwoo.
* Kayden carries her by the scruff in kitten form, he catches himself cleaning you on various instances.
* like Kayden when she first talked to Inhyuk in human form she also expected treats, since Inhyuk would give her little kitten form treats. Inhyuk gives her little sweets whenever he sees her since he thinks she's cute.
* she sleeps on top of Kayden in kitten form.
*when she first transformed the older cats coddled her, at first she would back away hissing. After finding out they helped Kayden she was nicer and they always end up grooming her.
Short fics
Y/n isn't very intimidating being a child and even less intimidating in kitten form .
She has tried to intimidate people like Kayden, but they just think she's cute so she'll try to threaten them in the most outlandish way.
Exhibit A
It had been right after Jisuk had discovered Kayden and you could talk. You decided to scare him after Kayden.
" if you tell anyone about me, I will drown and boil you in apple juice"
You say to a kneeling Jisuk
"I won't reveal anything about you to anyone!"
" ok you're free to go, remember I can always find you."
After that you prance back inside, leaving Jisuk to wonder many things.
Where would you get enough apple juice to drown and boil him? How would you carry him? How would you knock him out? What would you put him in to boil him?
He's having nightmares while you haven't even thought that far. Jisuk now brings high quality kitten food for you.
Exhibit B
You got really obsessed with penguins of Madagascar, Riko and Private ended up being your favourites. So you learned how to summon a gnome that could magic you up small items.
You were hiding with Kartien behind a wall as Royst tried challenging Jiwoo, and you summoned a gnome.
"Riko, one lighter and gasoline stat."
The gnomes gives you the lighter and a small tin of gasoline. You're about to go out of your hiding place towards Royst before Kartien picks you up by the scruff.
"don't even think about it"
" he's mocking big brother!"
" you'll get Jiwoo and your dad in trouble if he catches you"
" but-arggh fine! I won't set him on fire"
"hand over the lighter and gasoline and unsummon the gnome"
"but-"
"no buts, hand it over and unsummon the gnome. I know you'll come up with another scheme to get back at him."
"alright, fine!"
You say sulking and obeying him.
Kayden being proud scenario
Pluton had recently moved into the home, and you made a fun discovery; he was the easiest person in the house to trick and convincing. He's in dog form and you're in human form.
"Mr.Pluton can you give more cookies please?"
"what did Kayden and Kartien say?"
"papa said I can only get four cookies, and uncle Kartien said I can only have the 4 cookies after I ate an apple."
"how many cookies did you eat so far? and did you have the apple?"
" I had 4 cookies and I already had the apple"
" I can't get you extra cookies, you'd be going against the 4 cookies rule"
" but I had two apples, so I can get 4 more cookies"
"I don't think it works like that"
"but Mr.Pluton the apple is to go against the unhealthy cookies, so I can get 4 more cookies and suffer nothing"
" I guess, but I can't break Kayden's rules for you"
" but then you'd be breaking uncle Kartiens apple rule"
"I- that is true but I can't give you the cookies"
"*sigh* okay I guess you're too scared of papa"
"I'm not scared of Kayden!"
" it's okay Mr.Pluton, papa is incredibly strong it makes sense that you're scared."
You say gently pating his back
"I'm not scared of him! I'll get you those cookies"
Pluton transforms back human and gets you the cookies
"there I'm not scared of Kayden"
" thank you Mr.Pluton"
You happily walk away as Pluton is proud that he proved his bravery.
"she tricks people like you do, literally a mini you."
"of course, I raised her and she takes after her dad well"
Kayden says with a smirk
"Plutons is an idiot for falling for that. I would never fall for such a trick"
"sure, of course you won't."
You did get scolded by Kartien later for having 8 cookies.

Komaru Naegi VS Katie Mitchell [Danganronpa Survivor VS The Mitchell's VS The Machines]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leona: Komaru Naegi!
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Katie Mitchell!
Leona: The world is under attack and the robot invaders are taking over! But don't worry! These two unlikely teenage heroes are going to step up, fight for and with their families, and take back humanities world!
Hifumi: But when the odds collide, which one of these average teenage girls is gonna come out on top?
Leona: He's Hifumi and I'm Leona!
Hifumi: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, talents and skills, to see who will win a DEATH BATTLE!
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Komaru Naegi's life was completely ordinary in every way. Average home, average family, average education...
Leona: Other than the fact that she could see ghosts, but we don't care about that...
Tumblr media
Hifumi: In a typical day with Komaru and her family, her mother would always watch the same talk show at lunchtime, and her dad wouldn't shave his beard on Saturday when he didn't have to work. Her brother was a Hope's Peak student and life was as casual as it could be...
Leona: But then everything changed the day the world she knew...crumbled! Starting with a mutual killing between students of her brothers school, the chaos and tragedy spread until the people around her started disappearing.
Hifumi: She kept telling herself that everything would be okay, but when she was still in middle school and a group of unidentified men broke into her home, took her away from her parents, and imprisoned her in an apartment building in Towa City, she realized how hopeless it all was.
Leona: For one and a half years, Komaru remained confined in her apartment, with no interaction with the outside world besides the food given to her every day by her kidnappers. "Defying" her captors and pounding on the door was her morning ritual. Clearly she didn't learn the first time...
Hifumi: The Future Foundation came to rescue the captives, but on the day they did, Towa City got swept into an apocalypse, and Komaru ended up right at the center of the problem. The Demon Hunting Game hosted by the villainous Monaca Towa, Junko Enoshima's protégé, and her posse of vengeful children began, beginning a war between the abused kids and the egregious rebellion of adults.
Leona: After falling out of the Warriors of Hope's airship, Komaru landed on the rooftop of a hospital building. She saw Monokumas coming after her and cowered, hoping someone would help her. Her prayers were answered in the form of an unlikely ally, and an even more unlikely new best friend.
Hifumi: That would be none other than Toko Fukawa, AKA the Murderous Fiend, Genocide Jack, who snuck into the city and teamed up with Komaru to survive and fight the Warriors with the intention of rescuing Byakuya Togami, whom they had captured.
Leona: Together they explored and fought their way through armies of Monokuma's, with Toko armed with her taser and her serial killer alter ego armed with scissors...and Komaru armed with what would become her signature weapon: The Future Foundation Hacking Gun.
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Developed by the Future Foundation with the intention of destroying the sentry Monokuma's plaguing the world. Shaped like a Megaphone, the Hacking Gun fires electromagnetic waves that contain programming codes that hack the target mechanism upon contact. Because of this, the Hacking Gun is limited to using on Machines, like Monokuma or the Warriors of Hope Robots. While it is demonstrated that objects like Toko's taser can also be hacked, most of the Gun's effects are not applicable to non-machines.
Leona: But Komaru since the events of Ultra Despair Girls discovered a way around it. The Future Foundation developed a piece of tech called the Synchro-Discs, which automatically snap onto opponents when they make contact, and make biotic lifeforms susceptible to the Hacking Guns effects...Yowch!
Hifumi: Yowch is right! Because Mrs Komaru is capable of doing more than just shooting and destroying this tech. Provided she has the ammunition, the Hacking Gun can do a variety of things with a variety of different bullets; it's most basic offensive feature being the Break Bullet. Komaru launches a blue orb that explodes when it comes into contact with an enemy.
Leona: Then there's the Burn Bullet, another offensive function that does less damage than the Break Bullet but can be fire at a mush faster rate, and gives the opponents the sensation of...well...burning!
Hifumi: A mid-range electric field fired by the Paralyze Bullet has the ability to shock enemies upon contact. Additionally, it can spread if a foe is on the water. If Mrs. Komaru isn't careful, though, this could even include her.
Leona: The Knockback Bullet is an offensive function that has little range and damage, but with enough power to blow enemies and projectiles a good distance away from Komaru. She can also use it to FLY ROBIN FLYYY~
Hifumi: Not "fly" more like propel herself in the air. Then there's the Dance Bullet. An assist feature that renders the opponent defenseless and unable to fight by making them dance.
Leona: The Link Bullet is an assist function that allows Komaru to temporarily gain control of a single enemy. The Bullet looks like a rainbow colored heart, and THAT...is adorable!
Hifumi: The Move Bullet is the Hacking Gun's most basic assist feature. In addition to using it to activate machinery, Komaru can use it to weaponize her surroundings by activating things like a car that collides with her adversaries.
Leona: And last but not least is the Detect Bullet, which works like a flashlight that Komaru can use to look through walls and highlight important objects.
Hifumi: Many a Monokuma and many a machine have fallen to the hands of Komaru Naegi and her itchy trigger finger, and with many an obstacle in her way, Komaru and her partner fought through Towa City, experiencing much trauma and death until they finally reached the mastermind herself. And it was here that many truths came to light...
Leona: The abductors, Ultimate Despair, planned for her and the other hostages to commit suicide together. The 78th Class students, including Komaru's brother Makoto would then see this and use it to persuade them to murder one another. This did not happen, however, because the Mutual Killing Game ended before the motive could be used due to Junko Enoshima's execution.
Hifumi: During the Tragedy, the Towa Group's Monokuma Units were employed as killing machines. In addition, Monaca started producing helmets with Monokuma themes that had the power to brainwash their wearers into becoming submissive slaves for her schemes; by distributing these to different kids, she established the Monokuma Kids.
Leona: And all of the chaos...The Despair...The Murder...The Death...Destruction...Every horrible, terrible thing the sidekick of the Ultimate Despair did...was for one...twisted purpose...
Hifumi: As it turns out, her REAL intention was to send Komaru into a state of such insurmountable Despair and force her to murder every Monokuma Kid that served under her, in order to transform Komaru into "Junko Enoshima II". A war between Future Foundation and Towa City would also result from the murder of the Monokuma Kids, and Monaca very nearly succeeded. Komaru chose to smash the controller and put an end to the madness after Monaca played a video of her parents' deaths in a torture chamber.
Leona: Luckily, Toko was not only able to take the controller off of Komaru, but managed to snap her out of her despairing chance with a loving whack to the face! But in the midst of all this moral chaos, things took a terrible turn, when Big Bang Monokuma attacked!
Hifumi: Towa Group created Big Bang Monokuma, a massive Monokuma kaiju, as a covert weapon to protect the city. But the robot Shirokuma controlled by Junko Enoshima's AI reactivated it to try and kill EVERYBODY. It was in this standoff that Toko Fukawa asked Komaru the big question. Who did she want to save between the adults and the kids?
Leona: To which Komaru told her that she wanted to stop the fighting altogether, and protect and save both from the tyranny of the Towa leaders. Komaru then wiped her tears and confidently battled the giant robot with Toko, eventually taking it down after a long, drawn-out battle. After defeating it, the Big Bang Monokuma's head blasted off into the sky, splitting a large cloud formation and landed upside down on the body!
Hifumi: Let's analyze this feat very quickly just so we can get a scale of how incredible this feat is. Danganronpa Survivor confirms that the energy contained within Big Bang Monokuma is tantamount to about 2 Nuclear Fusion Reactors. It can smash people around with it's giant scepter, blast bolts of lightning, charge and smash it's way through skyscrapers and drop down a Mega Monokuma Bomb that wipe out anything near it! And with their powers combined, and using their special combination attack, the Hope Bullet, Mrs Fukawa and Mrs Komaru were able to take down this tyrant, by themselves, and destroyed it!
Leona: So how strong was the Hope Bullet that was created with the combination of Komaru's hacking gun and Toko's taser?
Hifumi: When the size of the sky split is compared to the size of the head, and the kinetic energy required to displace so much water vapor in a split second is calculated, the energy exerted here equals around 2.3 megatons of TNT, which is comparable to the yield of a hydrogen bomb.
Leona: However, as impressive as that is, and while Komaru and Toko have used this ability since, it doesn't actually work without BOTH of them being present. And since we're only allowing minimal outside help for both sides, Toko won't be present for this fight. Which means that at the most, Komaru would only be yielding about half the power on her own.
Tumblr media
Leona: After the battle was over and Byakuya had been saved, Komaru told Toko and the Future Foundation that she decided to stay at the city, having finally gained confidence in herself after she made her first decision by herself on protecting both the adults and the children, and remained a hostage as to not spark a war involving the Remnants of Despair. And from then on, the Super Dangerous Sisters would get into a lot more hijinks and battles!
Hifumi: They would go on to take on even more opponents, facing down Monaca Towa again, then later her brother Haiji Towa, as well as Organization Zetsubou's Narumi Osone. All the fighting caused Komaru to lose her left leg through torture, and a lot of her sanity and patience, but also her cowardice.
Leona: And hey! She married Toko and adopted a badass little girl too! Never say life is ALL bad! But to round this off, let's go over some physical feats and abilities!
Hifumi: Komaru can keep up with and tag Mrs Fukawa, who can keep up with Sakura Ogami, who can travel from Japan to Prague in an instant. Komaru may have been faster than light from the start, as she was able to avoid a point-blank shot from the hacking gun when Mr Togami fired it. Even if she's not AS fast, and these calculations are an exaggeration, she was also able to dodge lightning from Big Bang Monokuma's attacks, and her reaction speeds are parallel to that of Narumi Osone, as the two fought while falling down an elevator shaft.
Leona: Not to mention she's also escaped a collapsing subway station, can easily outspeed Monokuma units, has dodged shots from a sniper rifle, and used her hacking gun to deflect incoming missiles!
Hifumi: In terms of physical capability, she's not experienced in hand to hand combat and isn't the most powerful puncher, but she is able to hold her own in a physical brawl with her brother, Makoto, who we've already scaled, and the same applies to Narumi Osone.
Leona: In general though, without her hacking gun and gear, she's in a pretty rough spot, especially since Komaru herself isn't the brightest bulb in the box, at least compared to her fellow protags. Her intelligence is average at best and she's not great at coming up with complex plans on her own, even
Hifumi: But what might be her most impressive feats are her incredible durability and survivability skills. Despite claiming to be a pretty average girl, even before her current peak, Komaru Naegi has taken hits from Big Bang Monokuma, several very powerful Monokuma units, and the Warriors of Hope's robots, as well as surviving Narumi Osone's rocket-powered attacks.
Leona: She's also survived a pretty visceral helicopter crash with not many scratches, and has tanked a train crash, missiles, sniper shots AND the collective explosion of ALL of Monaca Towa's Monokuma's, which was strong enough to completely collapse the top of the little shit's tower!
Hifumi: Assuming that the top of the tower is high as the average storey, the explosion took place in a room the height of about 4.3 meters. And based on our calculations and observations, the diameter of the explosion was around 14.35 meters, making the total mass of the explosion around 26.943 Kilograms of TNT.
Leona: With Toko by her side, Komaru has taken on every enemy that's come her way. She defeated all of the Warriors of Hope, aided in the rescue of many adults and children alike and saved Towa City time and time again. Guess heroism and the power of an average person saving the world runs in the family, huh?
Hifumi: I wouldn't be so lenient. Makoto is Makoto...and Komaru...is Komaru.
Tumblr media
Leona: Katie Mitchell's life was completely ordinary in every way. Average home, average-Wait a second...!?"
Hifumi: But certainly a NOT-so average family life.
Tumblr media
Leona: Katie Mitchell is a quirky, aspiring, talented young filmmaker from Kentwood, Michigan, who had just been accepted into film school in California at the time the story begins. But despite being a mostly average, slightly kooky family, home life wasn't all it was cut out to be.
Hifumi: Rick Mitchell, Katie's technophobic and nature-obsessed father, did not see eye to eye with her and her dreams. The family feared their relationship would be permanently strained after Rick broke Katie's laptop the night before she left, following an argument over one of her earlier short films. In an effort to stop this, Rick chose, much to Katie's chagrin, to cancel her flight to California and instead take her, her gregarious and loving mother Linda, her dinosaur-loving, socially anxious younger brother Aaron, and the family dog/pig/loaf of bread, Monchi, on a cross-country road trip to her college as a final experience together.
Leona: Dang, things really are tense around here; it'd be a miracle to believe that a simple road trip would fix all of it...It needs something a little bit more...Some sort of trial that the family can work together and bond over like a...like a...!
Shows scenes of the PAL MAX robots crashing down and tearing up the town and kidnapping people.
Leona: Robot revolution!? Yeah, that works!
Hifumi: Unfortunately for the Mitchell's, the psychotic and deranged AI interface PAL had other plans for them, as well as the rest of humanity. Declared obsolete by her creator, technology entrepreneur Mark Bowman, and ready to be replaced by a line of helper robots, PAL commandeered all of the company robots in order to abduct people all over the world and launch them into space!
Leona: After avoiding capture at a roadstop café in Kansas, and allying themselves with two adorably awkward defective totally-humans Eric and Deborahbot 5000, the quirky, dysfunctional Mitchell family suddenly became humanity's unlikeliest last hope.
Tumblr media
Hifumi: But with the rogue AI being able to take control of any piece of tech that was synced with her, the Mitchell's were going to have a hard time. Fortunately, Katie was able to snag herself the arm cannon of one of the PAL MAX robots, and gained all of it's abilities.
Leona: Aside from a very potent laser blaster that's predominantly used to destroy infrastructure, the Robot Arm Cannon is also equiped with a tractor beam that can grab objects, keep them in stasis, and levitate them in the air! Like the GMod Phys Gun! And when one of these robots like Eric or Deborahbot are by her size, Katie can ride on the back of them like a surfboard, allowing her to fly up to several thousand feet in the air!
Hifumi: Speaking of which, we should probably clarify something here. During the Mitchell's final battle where Eric and Deborahbot helped them against PAL's army, they themselves did not fight the robots, only serving as transportation. Thus, for this fight, we will be allowing Katie to use the robots for this purpose, not counting it as outside help or assistance. They naturally won't be able to fight with her, but it's really not that different from how Courage the Cowardly Dog was able to use his Computer in his fight against Scooby Doo.
Leona: Katie, very much unlike her father, is also a computer genius! She's shown to be incredibly smart, strategic and intelligent, and she was able to figure out that Eric and Deborahbot were defective as soon as she got even the slightest hint. She can work out tech very easily, like how she was able to use the functions of the robot arm seconds after attaining it. She's also capable of...minor toon force I guess?
Hifumi: More specifically, Katie as a filmmaker and somewhat conscious of her own world being a film, is capable of Entertainment and Digital Materialization. She can bring to life and wield the worlds created by various forms of entertainment, films in her case, into reality. However, these powers are limited by Katie's own imagination/creativity, and...she can't really use these to fight, only to make dramatic scenes way funnier.
Leona: The Mitchell's plan was to use a kill code embedded in the PAL MAX robots memory to shut down PAL and all her robots, so they headed to a mall in eastern Colorado to upload it, but...SURPRISE! The mall was FILLED with PAL chip-enabled appliances that tried to stop them...including this GIANT! FUCKING! FURBBYYYY!
Hifumi: The battle was hard fought, and during it, Katie was able to show off that she was more of a badass than anyone gave her credit for. She was able to dodge drink cans moving at the speed of bullets, strong enough to break reinforced glass, and she moved with such strength and accuracy, she snared a speeding drone with a fishing rod and threw it directly into a small microwave. She also dodged a laser blast fired by the Elder Furby...Because...Furby's can...fire lasers...Yeah...
Cut to scene of Katie screaming "Why would someone build that!?" as her family are attacked by the Elder Furby.
Leona: Yeah, don't think about it too hard. I mean...It's a giant-ass furby. That much makes the realism clear.
Hifumi: While trapping and defeating the Elder Furby, the Mitchells accidentally destroyed a PAL router, rendering the hostile devices inoperable but preventing the upload of the kill code. While traveling to Silicon Valley to upload the kill code straight to PAL, Linda told Katie that she and Rick had once lived in a mountain cabin with Katie, because Rick had always wanted to live there, but had given up on the idea.
Leona: Only after PAL manipulated the Mitchell's and kidnapped Rick and Linda did Katie find out why. After watching some recordings on her camera that Rick had filmed when she was a child, she realized that Rick gave up on his dreams so that Katie could live a normal life as a normal kid. Meanwhile, Rick reflected on his own actions after watching one of Katie's videos that reflected his strained relationship with his daughter.
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Reenergized, Katie and Aaron crashed back into PAL Labs headquarters, only to be apprehended themselves. Katie defended the idea of saving humanity by pointing out to PAL that despite their differences, her family would always be connected, despite their hardships.
Leona: PAL didn't accept this reasoning and proceeded to drop Katie from the top of her lair, really high up, but Katie was saved by Rick and the robots, and the two were able to put their differences aside and KICK TOTAL ASS!
Hifumi: Despite being what would basically be several thousand feet in the sky, both Katie and Rick were able to keep pace with and avoid PAL's upgraded security robots, which were far stronger and far more deadly. The young movie geek was able to dodge lasers, blades that moved lightning fast, and react in time to snare them with her arm cannon and destroy them one by one!
Leona: These robots were able to move from one side of the screen to the other in what we calculated was 180 milliseconds, or 0.18 seconds, and assuming the close relative distance is right (we're honestly getting a bit metaphysical with this) that should but them at speeds of about 246.212 miles per hour
Hifumi: As the Mitchells banded together to fight the rest of the robots, Katie ultimately destroyed PAL by tossing her into a glass of water...and somehow managing to survive, for the most part, the entire collapse of the floating laboratory. The humans were freed and the robots were all deactivated, with the exception of Eric and Deborahbot thanks to their malfunction.
Leona: Hooray! A few months after the uprising, Katie and her family arrived at her college as she shared one last goodbye with them, finally coming to terms and accepting her weird home for what it was.
Hifumi: Later, she went to Washington, D.C. with them on another road trip, accepting the Congressional Gold Medal from the government to express their gratitude to the eccentric girl and her equally eccentric family, for stopping the robot apocalypse and sparing humanity a life of torment.
Leona: Oh...She's not JUST some eccentric girl...SHE's a MITCHELL!
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Alright, the combatants are set! Let's end this debate once and for all!
Leona: IT'S TIME FOR A DEEAAATH BAAATTLLLLLLEEE!
Tumblr media
The setting sun serves as the background of a destroyed city, as a girl clad in a red jacket rides atop a flying robot, high above the wreckage. Katie Mitchell, in one hand, holds a replica of the robots arm like a weapon.
Eric: Slovenly Girl. May I ask what it is we're doing here? I believe this path takes us towards the robot oppressors, not away from them.
Katie: I told Aaron I'd come back to get his favorite dinosaur doll.
Eric: We are going back for a doll? Is that really worth it?
Katie: So worth it. That thing's important to him. He won't be able to sleep without it, and even then, it-
*POWW!*
Eric: ERROR! ERROR!
Katie: ERIC!?
Katie's speech to her robot ride is interrupted as Eric suddenly gets blasted in the face by a flash of blue code! It doesn't immediately destroy him, but he and Katie fall to the ground, with Katie having to drop and roll along the top of a building, while Eric faceplants and collapses on the edge of the building, just barely falling off.
Katie: Who da what da wha!?
Katie lifts her head and sees Komaru Naegi propels herself to the rooftop parallel, coming to a sliding stop. Katie immediately zeroes in on her metal leg.
Katie: Woah...! Winter Soldier girl...!
Komaru: Winter Soldier's got a metal arm, not a metal leg. Whatever! This area was supposed to be evacuated of civilians hours ago! Those guys are coming back, so get the hell out of here!
Katie: Ma'am, I'm not trying to be rude, but I've been through this before with way worse odds. I appreciate the help, but I just gotta go grab something and I'll be on my-
Katie tries to hurry to the edge of the roof to retrieve Eric, but Komaru propels herself onto the rooftop with her hacking gun and stands in her way, holding her arms out and blocking Katie from advancing.
Komaru: Are you deaf!? If you stay here, you're going to diiiiiiAAAGH!?

Komaru feels her body freeze in place, leaving her immobile. When she looks up, she sees Katie snaking her up and using the arm cannon to keep her still and lift her up. Katie tosses Komaru away, her face displaying discontent.
When Komaru lands on a nearby roof, he sees that Katie has picked Eric back up and is now riding on him.
Komaru: Why can't it ever be easy!? HAGH!
Katie: Huh!? GUAGH!
Komaru launches herself forward for a high-speed kick with her hacking gun, but Katie is able to block and raise her arm to deflect her back. Katie believes she has warded off the Little Sister of Hope when she lands back on the rooftops of the skyscrapers, but then she feels something hit her in the back.
Komaru: KNOCKBACK!
Katie: WOAAGGH!?
Komaru leaps off the building and hurtles forward, hitting Katie with a knockback bullet that propels her and her craft skyward. Katie looks behind her back to see the synchro-discs stuck to her.
Katie: Discs...? Wait...did she put those on me so she could shoot me with that gun of hers?
Komaru: HYAGH!
Katie: Gagh!
*BOOOM!*
Komaru: HRGH!?
Komaru tries to attack Katie from behind while she is preoccupied, but Katie spins around and shoots her with the blaster on the robot arm. Komaru uses her hacking gun to avoid the blast in time, rolling onto the roof. After that, Katie aims with the blaster and starts firing at Komaru, who deflects the bullets with her own before moving closer, blasting herself up into the air as Katie starts to gain altitude.
Katie: Make sure you catch me!
Katie disconnects from Eric and lets herself fall back to the ground far far below, with Komaru giving chase. The two girls show their skills at shooting and dodging each other's shots as they engage in a shootout.
Komaru: Dangit...! I'm trying to HELP!
Katie: And I APPRECIATE that! But I've got a family to look out for!
Komaru charges again after being pushed back, only to be caught in Katie's tractor beam once more. Then, she is launched straight toward the ground after being whirled around in midair. The overlay shows dramatic hand-drawn explosion effects to emphasize Katie's hit, despite the fact the damage on the Ultra Despair Girl is fairly minimal. Katie laughs and lands carefully back on Eric's back as they start flying away.
Komaru: Gah...Why is it ALWAYS kids!?
Komaru huffs out this dialogue as she reloads her Hacking Gun and blasts herself into the air again, running on the rooftops after Katie. The moviemaker only notices Komaru catching up when she's right on top of her.
Komaru: PARALYZE!
Katie: gUaAgHaGhAaGhAhGhAgHaGhAgH!
Komaru approaches Katie from behind and uses a Paralyze Bullet to shock her at point blank range. As Katie is jittering about in pain while her muscles tense up, the screen suddenly freezes to focus in on her petrified face.
Katie (internally): You know what this scene kind of reminds me of?
The scene switches to a YouTube video of a gibbon monkey screaming hysterically. With "Youtube Poop"-style editing, the scene quickly cuts back and forth between Katie and the monkey screaming. Then, Katie's face is superimposed on that of the gibbon, and vice versa. It's the kind of video that could only be made by an artistic teenager who has recently purchased editing software.
Katie (internally): Yeah, it's not as funny when it's happening to me...
The fight resumes abruptly as Komaru leaps in legs first, attempting to smash Katie into the wall. However, now that she is certain of what the discs do, Katie flings off her jacket and overcomes her paralysis. With a quick thinking move, she grabs hold of Komaru with her Tractor Beam and throws her through the wall, with both girls flying into the building and flailing around like cartoon characters as they navigate the obstacles inside until they emerge on the other side.
Komaru grabs onto the edge of the building while Katie grabs Eric's hand, and the two girls spin around to blast each other, when all of a sudden, the sound of a phone ringing interrupts them.
Komaru: Huh? Oh! S-Sorry, I've gotta take this!
Katie: Huh!?
Komaru: Yeah-uh-hold on, I'll be just a minute...
Katie pulls herself up onto Eric, crossing her arms as she sits down and patiently waits for Komaru to finish her phone call.
Komaru: Toko? Yeah, it's ok, I'll be back soon...This random kid is messing with me...No, she's NOT kicking my ass...No...Yes...Huh? Wait, I thought YOU said you were gonna go pick her up? The city's KIND of being destroyed you know?
Katie: ...
Komaru: No, no, it's ok, don't worry. I'll pick her up and take her home, then I'll get back to work...What? Yeah, no problem. Yes...Low fat milk? Yeah, sure. Okay, love you too. Bye~"
She hangs up.
Katie: You have a kid?
Komaru: Family, am I right?
Katie: Being an adult sounds like it sucks...
Komaru: It REALLY does...I'm good now though!
Komaru gives Katie a thumbs up and the two immediately get back to fighting. After dodging her opponent and running around her, Komaru leaps to try to shoot Katie once more. Katie ducks and tries to snare Komaru yet again, but this time the Naegi anticipates her move and turns in midair to block Katie's Tractor Beam with a Link Bullet.
Katie is given a fright as Komaru's hacking gun syncs with her weapon, and causes it's beam to fire on Katie herself. Katie becomes immobilized, causing her to fall off Eric's back and onto the destroyed road below.
Katie: Ugh...HEY!
Komaru: DANCE!
*POW!*
Eric: Huh!? Oh...Oh dear...! Oh no...! My hands are in the air like I just do not care!
Katie: Ah...Ahaha...AGH!?
Eric tries to land on the road to grab Katie as she gets back up, but Komaru jumps in and shoots Eric with a Dance Bullet. Eric starts dancing uncontrollably and reacts to it about how you'd expect, unable to control his own movements as he boogies down. Katie gives a slight grin of amusement at it, but immediately snaps back to the moment when Komaru shoots at her again.
With Katie's transport out of commission, she's forced to run along the pavements and dodge Komaru's shots while firing back some of her own. Komaru and Katie keep exchanging gunfire and dodging the other's blasts as they dash across the city between the buildings. Komaru slows down as they turn a corner and realizes they've arrived in the parking lot of a supermall. This gives her an idea. But Katie also receives one of her own.
Katie: GRRAAGGH!
Komaru: YAGH!?
*CRAAASH!*
Hrugh!
*POOW!*
Katie: Woah!? Phew...WAAGH!?
The first to move is Katie, who uses her Tractor Beam to lift and toss a parked car at Komaru. Komaru, however, falls and slides beneath the incoming car, narrowly avoiding being crushed into dust! Then she takes aim at two of the cars in the lot and fires a Move Bullet. As Katie leaps to avoid the first one, the second one hits hard, propelling her in the direction of Komaru, who catches her by the collar of her shirt and applies another Synchro-disc to her forehead. However, Katie raises her cannon and tries to shoot Komaru in the stomach before the girl has a chance to react. But then...
Komaru: You won't be needing THIS anymore!
*POW!* *BOOOM!*
Komaru & Katie: GUGH!
Before Katie can shoot Komaru, Komaru raises her Hacking Gun and shoots Katie's cannon with a Break Bullet, which completely destroys it. There's an explosion which results in Komaru being thrown onto the bonnet of a car, and Katie being thrown through the supermall window. Katie is slightly pained, but ignores the feeling and begins to panic, as she is now defenseless...Or so she thinks...
Katie notices a tool store out of the corner of her eye as she considers her next move. In the overlay, hurriedly drawn arrows labeled "CONVINIENT" point in the direction of the store, while a hand-animated lightbulb dings above Katie's head. While Komaru gets to her feet and trudges into the store holding her weapon, she flees inside to hide.
Komaru hurries through the mall until she comes into the main area, seeing no sign of Katie around her.
Komaru: Ok kid, you can come out! Your tech's been wrecked and now you're out of options! Just give up!
Katie: HYAAAAGGH!
Komaru: Huh!?
*YOINK!* *WHIIIIRR!*
Komaru: NO!
Katie: Hyagh!
*KERBONK!* *BEEP!* *BOOOOOOOOOOMM!*
Katie drops down from the level above brandishing a fishing rod, and to Komaru's horror, the moviemaker throws the line forward and snags Komaru's Hacking Gun! She then flings the Hacking Gun into an abandoned kitchen appliance store, where it lands inside a microwave, and subsequently EXPLODES, taking the store with it! Katie smugly drops the rod and dusts off her hands.
Katie: Who's out of options NOW? -AGH!?
And just like that, the shootout becomes a FIST FIGHT! However, both girls' limited knowledge of hand to hand starts to show. Katie ducks under Komaru's uncomfortably heavy right hook attempt to punch her. Katie then begins repeatedly hitting Komaru with her hands, but the Ultra Despair Girl is able to evade her blows.
Komaru: GRRRR!
Katie: GRRRR!
The two girls keep punching and kicking each other in an endless cycle until all of a sudden Katie enters from the left and begins to punch Komaru in the shoulder. After blocking, she begins to strike repeatedly with her elbow, knocking Katie out of her reach.
Komaru: ENOUGH-DUHUGH!?
When Komaru tries to rush in for a follow-up, Katie hurls her shoe at her face.
Katie: HAHAGH! DOH!?
Komaru retaliates, hurling her metal leg in her face.
Thus...this random cartoonish back and forth continues until Komaru and Katie are both completely debilitated. Their punches and kicks slowly devolve into the two of them just brainlessly slapping each other.
Komaru: Huuaagh...Huuaagh...Huuaaaaagh...
Katie: Haaaah...Haaaah...Haaaaaah...UGH...! GRAAGH
Komaru: AHAGH...! GRAAGH!
Komaru & Katie (slow-motion): OOOOOOOOOOOOGGGHHH!
An hand-drawn animated overlay pops up again as Komaru and Katie land possibly the weakest final punches on each other as they can, featuring several stock image explosions that slowly fill the screen until it's covered entirely, reinforcing the lazy hits as SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than they actually are. Komaru and Katie then both fall backwards, lying flat on the ground. Both of them are gasping for breath, completely exhausted.
Komaru: This...is the stupidest...thing...ever...!
Katie: I've...seen...stupider...! Haah...Oh!
Katie hangs her head back and as she does, she suddenly sees a familiar looking dinosaur plushy sitting on top of a bin.
Katie: Oh, so THAT'S where he left it...
Still devoid of strength, Katie gets up and approaches the dinosaur doll, grabbing it and picking it up. Komaru also pulls herself to her feet, but then the ground around them starts to quake. The girls' screams are barely audible as they use their last bits of strength to avoid the falling debris as the mall's roof collapses. When the camera pans out, a massive Monokuma and a number of PAL MAX robots can be seen hovering over them.
Komaru: SEE!? THIS was what I was trying to warn you about!? You seriously flew all the way back into the jaws of death just to get a stuffed animal!?
Katie: Wouldn't you do the same for your family if they left something precious behind?
Komaru: ...
Katie: ...
Komaru: Touché Capitano...I guess we're both losers here...
Katie: I've learned that it's ok to be that way.
Just as things look bleak, Komaru and Katie suddenly hear some shouting above them as the sound of a helicopter draws near. Some familiar faces of the Future Foundation poke their heads out and drop down two packages, with each of the girls catching one. Komaru gets a new Hacking Gun and Katie gets a new Robot Arm Cannon. At the same time, Eric returns, accompanied by Deborahbot5000, and the two land next to the Mitchell and the Naegi.
Komaru: We can pick this up another time...How about whoever takes out the most robots wins?
Katie: Bet!
Katie and Komaru jump on top of Eric and Deborahbot5000 respectively, and the two robots launch both girls into the fray!
Tumblr media
Leona: Wait...what? Wait...HUH!? But...WHAT!? But you-!? But she-!? WHAAAT!?
Hifumi: Let's...break this down...
Tumblr media
Hifumi: Let's start by talking about both geeky girls innate powers and abilities, to which they...don't have much. Katie does have her overlay editing, but that has never been used in a combative scenario and is really just a figment of her imagination. Similarly, Komaru may have mechanical limbs and implants, but the leg has been stated numerous times to just be a really well-made prosthetic, with no special abilities.
Leona: Yeah, they're both a bit weird and geeky, but they're also both basically total normies that don't stick out on their own. So in a situation like this, the battle would come down to tech and weaponry.
Hifumi: Between the Hacking Gun and the Arm Cannon, their respective weapons, Katie Mitchell's was the more deadly of the two. The Arm Cannon CAN fire off super-powered energy blasts that blow up buildings and create huge explosions and property damage.
Leona: With that being said, the cannons are specifically designed to destroy infrastructure to help the robots TRAP humans. The robots never actually fire their weapons AT their human victims, and instead capture them using their Tractor Beams. And even putting that aside, assuming they DID fire at humans, it's unlikely that even with it's power, it would be able to stop Komaru!
Hifumi: Komaru has survived explosions and energy blasts from Narumi Osone's gauntlets, which DEFINITELY STRONGER than Katie's cannon, and she's tanked explosions stronger than even that. If Komaru was hit dead on with the cannon, it would hardly hurt her, much less kill her.
Leona: But Katie had more than one option of putting Komaru down, like using the cannon's Tractor Beam to hold Komaru in place, and toss her around like a human ragdoll until she succumbs.
Hifumi: But therein lies Katie's biggest setback, being the Hacking Gun's abilities to destroy and disable tech with it's various truth bullets. Basically, most of Katie Mitchell's arsenal could be countered with Komaru's bullets alone. Even if destroying them was a tedious possibility, she could use the Dance and Link Bullets to render her robot transport inoperable for a while, and could use the Synchro-Discs to damage Katie directly herself.
Leona: But in a normal situation, this wouldn't be a surefire way to win EITHER. Katie is very adept when it comes to tech, and if she was able to figure out that Deborahbot and Eric were defective through one interaction, it wouldn't take her long to figure out what the purpose of the Synchro-Discs are and how they function, which would give her multiple ways to counter them. And while Katie possesses an arsenal of tech-related equipment and weapons, Komaru really just has the Hacking Gun and Synchro-Discs. If Katie could disarm or destroy Komaru's weapon, which was very possible with her own tools, she could render Komaru mostly vulnerable, earning her the win.
Hifumi: Therefore, fight really comes down to their own stats, and whose are greater, but as it turns out...They're BASICALLY the same with only a few minor exceptions! The first is that of the two, Komaru is the more physically capable and experienced fighter of the two. If it came down to a physical brawl, Komaru outmatches Katie in terms of confrontation fisticuffs.
Leona: BUT not enough that it would give her a clear advantage! Komaru is adept with handling a Hacking Gun, but isn't physically powerful enough to match someone like Genocide Jill, so without some sort of hacking tech at her disposal, she's kind of a sitting duck. Katie on the other hand, despite not having as much experience, is FAR more intelligent and FAR more calculating and cunning than Dekomaru over here. She's fought against armies of robots that are far stronger than she is with little guidance, so with that in mind, physical prowess didn't hold much of a sway over her.
Hifumi: In terms of physical stats like strength and speed, the two characters who Komaru and Katie can be compared most closely to are Toko Fukawa and Linda Mitchell respectively, but in the end, it can really only be done so in terms of speed. While Ms Fukawa has been training to cancel it out, each character's inner strength is only brought out through external circumstances. Fukawa is only heavily dangerous when she switches into Genocide Jill, and Linda Mitchell only goes on a rampage when Aaron's safety is put in danger.
Leona: Speaking of speed, in a confrontation like this, it's probably the most important thing to bring up. If Komaru and Katie's tech can counter and destroy each other, the fight really comes down to who can win a quick draw.
Hifumi: Both Komaru AND Katie have fought and battled HUNDREDS of enemy machines at once, being able to avoid their attacks and keep pace despite their opponent's incredible speed, and both have shown an unmatched reactionary feats that go into the realm of above relativistic.
Leona: Like how both are capable of dodging objects that fly at bullet-speed, and how both have taken on giant opponents with faster than light attacks, which they were able to dodge; Big Bang Monokuma for Komaru and the Elder Furby for Katie. Komaru was also able to react so quickly and accurately that she could dodge and counter Narumi Osone's rocket-like blasts, and Katie could perfectly snare a speeding drone mid-flight with a fishing rod. Effectively, this quick-draw scenario...doesn't have a definitive victor either.
Hifumi: Lastly is durability. Komaru can take hits from Big Bang Monokuma and the robots used by the Warriors of Hope, survived a helicopter crash, AND the collective explosion of all of Monaca's robots.
Leona: And KATIE has ALSO tanked a giant explosion that blew up a car park, survived being tackled by PAL MAX robots, and withstood the destruction following the collapse of the PAL Labs headquarters!
Hifumi: Even if it's shocking to think about, it seems that with a few tiny exceptions for BOTH SIDES, in every single way, Komaru Naegi and Katie Mitchell can match each other blow for blow for BLOW!
Leona: Which essentially means that if we were to put them against each other about 100 times, their final win/lose score ratio would be almost exactly 50:50!
Hifumi: All in all, Komaru and Katie were both incredibly tough opponents with tech-savvy skills and strong family values. They were both strong, fast, powerful, and yet had no means of ever sweeping the rug out from under the other.
Leona: I guess you could say they both girls had a ferocious bark and an even more ferocious "byte!" ...Get it? Like...Like terabyte?
Hifumi: Yes, YES...! Ugh...I get it...!

OKAY, i gave up on the group photo so I'm just gonna introduce them here - the clone boys are first then I'll introduce the Jedi seperately! All you need to know is that the Jedi's name is Shoga Ki, who is a togruta, and her human padawan is called Towa! Without further ado! I introduce the Tsunami Squad!
Descriptions below!:
Sergeant Twilight | CT-2472
Twilight is the "Leader" of the Tsunami Squad. He is the most experienced out of all of them, barely just passing Spire in the amount of sucessful missions. He is thoughtful and quite internal, though he can be firm and a little cold emotionally. Shoga, their Jedi, took a liking to his squad especially after seeing their potential and how unique each one of them was. He's quite practical, and hardworking - sometimes a little clinical and doesn't like breaking nor bending the rules (though he doesn't get much say about then when the Jedi is around). He appreciates whenever the Jedi can be honest with him, and not put on an optimistic face for the rest of the squad.
Twilight's face markings were hand painted by him to resemble Shoga's out of respect (he asked for permission first, of course). All of the armour for the 298th was handpainted by the clones, or Shoga and Towa themselves, including Twilight's! Their default colours were the pale red, but the blue and yellow were added on, as well as the designs.
Twilight is always a little worried about his squad, whether it's how much sleep Mir is getting, or if Tide is getting along with everyone else. He keeps a notepad of how each one of the squad is progressing and what they need to work on next. He swears it is NOT a diary!
Spire | CT-6741
Spire is the medic of the squad and a close confidant of Twilight. They've been together for as long as the can remember, and is always by his side. He can be a little oblivious sometimes, but Twilight is always there to remind him of important things. The two had argued plenty of times before, but it's nothing that they couldn't resolve over a drink or two.
He appreciates Shoga a lot as a Jedi, and is weirdly very enthusiastic about the whole beach and ocean theme they have going on. Like Shoga, he loves oceans and if he wasn't a clone - he'd probably be relaxing on a nice sandy beach somewhere. He enjoys a good sunset, and can find a way to feel relaxed in the most tense situations.
Stasis | CT-3455
Stasis isn't the chattiest, perferring much more to listen than talk, and most other clones are quite intimdated by him. Fortunately, the Tsunami squad knows him better than that, he's actually quite soft on the inside. If he wasn't made to wear clone armour, he'd be wearing chunky sweaters and reading a book somewhere around a cozy fireplace. Despite his personality behing quite internal, he's the most likely to disobey an order, especially without telling anyone what he's planning first. It… usually works out well enough though! It has led to multiple arguments between him and Twilight, but they've all been interrupted by the other clones as they congratulate Stasis for helping them get the job done.
He's the lead explosives expert for the squad, Beetle and Shell being his back-up, and he's fluent in Shyriiwook!
Beetle | CT-2112
Beetle is sociable, witty, and charismatic. His favourite part of being deployed on different planets is exploring their local fauna and learning more about insects. He's not the biggest fan or reptillian or mammal creatures, but goes wild over anything with an exo-skeleton.
Despite his nickname, beetles are not his favourite insect, he much prefers the 「butterfly-like」 species. Those that eat as much as possible before pupating and becoming a different form. He took this as a philosophy for himself, always striving to learn as much as possible to undergo a metamorphosis of character and become a better soldier. He keeps this to himself mostly, but sometimes talks about philosophy with Shoga, and likes to help Towa with her fear of spiders and insects.
Tide | CT-8333
Tide is the youngest clone in the squad, he still has a spark in his eye that the others have lost long ago. He is… a little annoying to the others, but they still treat him well. Ripple especially took a liking to him, in a friendly big-brother kind of way, with lighthearted bullying to pair with it. He treats the padawan, Towa, like a younger sister - redirecting the bullying he gets from Ripple onto her. She acts like she hates him, but she actually enjoys his company - as she doesn't feel like she quite belongs with all the old people around.
Mir | CT-8212
Nickname coming from 「Mi-mir」, because he is a sleepy boy. Please let this clone take a nap, he really needs it. 2nd best sniper, and enjoys a good coffee or energising drink. He often walks around the bunk with a blanket on him, as he tries to sleep whenever he can. However, he usually gets only around 3-4 hours a day when not out in the field, and when lucky. Twilight is worried about his sleeping habits and often makes him to go medical just in case they can find what's up with him, but he's somehow pretty healthy. The others rotate on 「Carry Mir to his bunk」 duty, with Shell being happy to do so most often. They joke that he should have an energy drink dispenser attatched to his helmet.
Apart from that, Mir enjoys the company of his squad, maybe apart from Stasis - as his silence often makes him uncomfortable. Mir favours having some white noise when resting.
Ripple | CT-6714
Ripple is tough and rough, he thinks his scar is really cool and always makes up a different story on how he got it. No one but Shell knows the true story, that he got it during his cadet days after failing to disarm a live explosive. He looks quite intimidating because of the scar and partial loss of vision in his eye because of it, but he can be quite genuine and gives out good advice. "Don't play around with live explosives." Younglings and young padawans are especially susceptible to his games, but Towa knew better and immediately caught onto his lying about the scars - they hang out often as a trio with Tide.
Senn | CT-2414
Senn is shy and reserved, he's one of the newest additions to the squad, along with Tide. He's quite sensible, and overall a little big of a pathetic man (saying this with the most affection possible). He's the main sniper of the lot, with Mir being 2nd best. They hang out together often and exchange sniping tips when Mir isn't sleeping. He likes sniping from high up, and is always trying to find the best hiding spots when entering a new area. He's a little sensitive, and getting the tattoo was an absolute nightmare for him, but he's glad he got it - and likes to maintain a good hygiene routine to keep it looking as good as possible (to avoid touch-ups!). The tattoo on his head is representative of an ash angel bird. He likes to make lists and categorising things, often helping Twilight and Shoga with journalling or note-taking.
Shell | CT-5311
Shell is a loud and boisterous clone, even more so than Ripple. He joined Tsunami Squad after he recevied his scar, which was caused by him being attacked by a creature during a mission. He doesn't talk about the incident much, and prefers to keep the helmet on most of the time.
He likes to spend a lot of his free time at the 79's with Stasis, Senn, and Beetle - but often goes by himself too, it's one of the only places where he doesn't feel understimulated. When not out, he needs to keep himself occupied otherwise he gets grouchy, there's a large collection of puzzles on his bunk that he plays with before and after sleeping. He likes Shoga's attitude, as she is capable of keeping up with him in terms of energy - but knows his boundaries and limits when it comes to Towa, the padawan.

fanfic request !!! (SPECIFICALLY WITH MY PERSONAL SELF INSERT/OC). Based on info given in dms, Headcanons for Alastor and attempting to get the human he made a deal with and brought to Hell to be less, well, anxious about his current situation being in Hell. Can be a bit on the yandere or even possessive side if you like ^^
One-Shots and Headcanons Masterlist
Tumblr media
Reactive mutism: a reaction to trauma and/or abuse
OC belongs to @kirbybooo
Kirby always had a strange fascination with the occult, so when he started hearing constant radio noises around, he figured that some kind of entity might be trying to communicate with him
He knew that a lot of the self-proclaimed ghost hunters and ghost busters often used radios to communicate with the creatures from the beyond, so first thing in the morning he decided to order a very old school looking radio from an antique shop
When it arrived, plugging it in Kirby messed with the dials so that it would be on the same wavelength as the signals
“Oh dearie, what might this be?”
Alastor, whom was currently in the world of the living hunting wondered as he felt an unfamiliar radio signal
Paying it no mind, he continued with his pursuit of his latest victim
Soon, he started receiving message from whoever was responsible, though they were very strange to say the least
There were numerous voices cut together forming sentences, a clever way for Kirby to reach out without having to use his voice as he was unable to talk due to severe traumas in his life which ended up restricting his ability to speak quite a bit, but more about that later
Sniffing out the source of the signal, the deer demon decided to observe Kirby for a bit
It was a long, long time since someone reached out to him and talked to him WILLINGLY and without fear, even the Hazbin Hotel residents could not deny they felt uneasy around someone of his caliber
It was more than obvious Kirby’s life was a mess, it reminded Alastor of Angel Dust’s situation with Valentino, and he was more than ready to exploit that
Sending the little human a message offering his services, he expectantly awaited his reaction and soon enough, received a confirmatory response
Appearing in his modest apartment, Kirby stared at his “saviour”
He looked nothing like he would imagine a demon to look like, especially with his cute little antlers and fluffy ears and tail
A deal was formed soon after
In exchange for Kirby’s soul, the deer demon had to get Kirby out of his abusive situation using any means necessary
Looks like human meat was back on the menu for today
Teleporting back to Hell, Alastor strode towards the Hazbin Hotel looking forward to showing everyone his new human pet
If by taking his soul Alastor meant right after Kirby got a taste of his newfound freedom, he might have thought twice about making this deal or, more like made it specifically known that his soul would only be for taking after his death (which would have to not be caused by Alastor)
But a deal was a deal, there was no going back now
At least the people at this strange hotel seemed nice enough, though they first assumed Kirby’s unwillingness to talk to them to be rude at first, but thanks to a good old pen and paper they were able to understand his situation and to communicate just fine
Angel Dust felt instantly protective of Kirby as he could relate to him the most, knowing just how loathsome such a lifestyle is and what it does to a person’s psyche
Charlie welcomed him with a warm smile and open arms while Vaggie was glaring daggers at Alastor, standing between you two and pointing her trusty spear at his throat, cursing at him in Spanish about the repercussions and dangers of bringing a human to Hell
Niffty was quick to introduce herself as the “maid” of the hotel with a polite handshake and evident excitement in her eye
Husk stayed at the bar, observing the situation while downing a bottle of cheap booze
He seemed to be the most laid-back guy around here, so Kirby naturally gravitated towards him for a drink while the cat demon offered to indulge him in some stories of his life as a human in order to avoid awkward silence
The little human was a handful for sure, sulking over his unfair deal with Alastor, sneaking out in order to discover the ins and outs of Hell, partying and drinking way too much (in Alastor’s opinion) with Angel Dust and Husk, arguing with Vaggie over your intentions with the hotel and running around like a pair of goofs with Niffty
Maybe, just maybe it was more than Alastor bargained for
Perhaps he will just get a collar with a leash to get his new human pet to not run around like a fool, getting constantly either lost or in trouble
Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and slowly but surely, Alastor picked up on the fact Kirby was slowly starting to express himself not with a paper and a pen, but with his own voice
It started with small hmm’s and ohhh’s, gradually turning into single words as responses until it fully bloomed into short sentences
His voice was but a gentle whisper, yet it was tremendous progress from his previous muteness
But Alastor soon found out he wanted to be the only one who would be blessed to hear Kirby’s voice and just hearing him address anyone else made his blood boil, smile wavering
Yet he knew kidnapping was not an option as he noted Kirby only graced those he trusted with his words and doing such a thing would break the already delicate trust the two had
So there are only 3 possible options
First one, Alastor gets over his pettiness and accepts the fact he’s not the only important figure in Kirby’s life (VERY unlikely)
Second one, Alastor kidnaps his little pet, breaking his trust and reverting to being mute (he’ll resort to this only as a last option)
Third one, manipulation (the most probable option)
And oh boy is Alastor good at manipulating others
He’ll expertly manipulate him like a puppet without him even realizing it to the point where in his mind, there will only be Alastor
And since Alastor is the only one he needs, there is no necessity for the others now, no?

WEREWOLF MASARU DAIMON AU (Danganronpa UDG)
Tumblr media
Masaru is funky so Im making a werewolf AU for him hehe 😈
HOW IT ALL STARTED
-Masaru had been wandering around Towa City alone one night when a weird wolf creature attacked him. He managed to escape with just a bite on his arm, nothing else really.
-Masaru started acting really weird after his attack. Especially around the other WoH members. He seemed a lot more anxious than usual, and he tried to avoid the others for a long while. The most suspicious was his disappearing during some nights and being completely exhausted the next morning.
-This lasted for a while until one night Jataro came running to the others saying some scary monster was outside the base. When they went outside to see what the monster was, it was a large red-furred wolf prowling around the area. When the other warriors made an attempt to scare the wolf off, Kotoko noticed the Warriors of Hope pin in the wolf's fur. After some thinking they quickly figured out it was Masaru.
-When Masaru transformed back the next morning, Nagisa was practically demanding answers. Masaru explained everything he could think of. Apparently the night after the attack, he suddenly turned into a wolf. He didn't want to tell them because he thought he would be kicked from the Warriors of Hope. The others just accepted him, knowing full well this whole situation wasn't his fault anyway.
RELATIONSHIPS
(By relationships I mean like how Masaru acts as a werewolf and what he does with the other warriors in wolf form)
MASARU DAIMON (Wolf Form Behavior)
-Masaru is basically just a big playful dog in wolf form
-While in wolf form, he isn't the size of an average wolf. Standing on all fours makes him about 6'1" (Since his human height is 4'3")
-He loves playing with the other members, his favorite games being fetch and tug of war
-Masaru won't admit it while human, but he loves getting scritches behind the ears while a werewolf
-Masaru howls. Like a lot. He finds it funny when his howls spook Jataro
-His voice is deepened in wolf form. It still sounds like him, but monstrous and more gruff
-He always loves to "brag" about how menacing and spooky he is in wolf form despite the fact he's just a big ol fluffy puppy
-Masaru is able to eat raw meat in wolf form. At first he thought it would be gross, but quickly discovered he liked eating raw meat while a wolf
-Speaking of meat, Masaru always gets weird meat cravings while a human, so he always has some beef jerky sticks on hand (like those little to-go ones)
-While human, Masaru can make his teeth into fangs and bring out his claws on command. He can also make his eyes his wolf eye colors
-He's able to growl like a wolf in human form as well, but doesn't growl as a human very often
-Whenever he transforms, he tries to have somebody with him. He doesn't like to admit it, but the transformation scares him a lot because of how painful it is.
NAGISA SHINGETSU
-Masaru is constantly bugging Nagisa to play with him while a wolf
-Masaru whines and howls if Nagisa tries to ignore him at all until Nagisa plays with him
-When Nagisa helps him shift, Masaru tries to act like he isn't too afraid of what's going on
-Nagisa usually gently pets Masaru's fur to calm him down after his transformation
KOTOKO UTSUGI
-Kotoko personally loves hanging out with Masaru while he's a wolf.
-Out of all the other warriors, Kotoko plays and hangs out with Masaru the most
-She will gladly play with him and give him ear scritchies
-Kotoko also helps Masaru calm down when he's anxious in wolf form, petting his fur and playing with his tail
-Masaru insists he's scary as a werewolf, but Kotoko always refuses to belief so, especially since she's since his puppy side while he's a werewolf
-When Kotoko helps him transform, she usually tries to whisper things to him to calm him down
-She does the same things Nagisa does post-transformation, also telling Masaru he did a great job while transforming
JATARO KEMURI
-Masaru's werewolf relationship with Jataro isn't as good as it is with Nagisa and Kotoko
-Masaru likes to spook Jataro by howling and growling near him, which just ends up with Jataro spooked and Masaru laughing on the ground.
-He sometimes plays with Jataro, but not very often since he prefers to play with Nagisa or Kotoko.
-Jataro doesn't help Masaru transform too much due to being too spooked by how it looks and sounds
-Despite this, he will still try his best to stay with Masaru in order to try and comfort him. Jataro usually comforts him just by sitting with Masaru after his transformation
MONACA TOWA
-I honestly don't have much to say abt Monaca for this AU
-She really just does the bare necessities for Masaru like petting him and sitting with him while he transforms
SERVANT/NAGITO
-Nagito has to do most of the dirty work
-By dirty work, I mean feeding Masaru while he's hungry in wolf form
-Like said earlier, Masaru can eat raw meat in wolf form, and prefers to do so while a wolf...But sometimes he can get a little aggressive while he's hungry
-Nagito just chuckles it off, saying stuff like "You were really hungry tonight, weren't you?"
-When Masaru isn't aggressive around Nagito, he usually tries to comfort Masaru. He may hate them, but it's still sad for him to see a kid in pain while turning into a wolf instead of him.
If you have anything else you wanna know about the AU, let me know! My ask boxnis empty, so...go ahead and ask anything you're curious about away!

For the Malleus thing: it's overexposure on my answer. Malleus is a main staple character that has a lot of fans compared to say: Cater or Kalim. Of course, Octavinelle matches in turn for numbers with Malleus but Malleus also has a dedicated shipping fandom that are so attached to him that they cause... problems.
Shipping is fine in moderation but when I see enough people start fighting that this fictional character is "their" man and not someone else's OC, I know Malleus has had too much time in their head or something warped him. I like shopping and run a sort famous /Reader blog for all genders, and that gives me insight into who people kinda want on that side and Malleus is very famous. Shipping aside, Malleus also has such diehard fans that... they forget his CHARACTER!
Malleus' fandom is the same as Octavinelle (woobifying/creeps flooding in) and now bleeding in Savanaclaw (creeps flooding in/racism against dark skinned OC's): the story is revealing that Malleus isn't gap moe and is an actual character that can do wrong, and hurt people... and they HATE that. I've seen four people drop Malleus like a hat because he was didn't understand what he was doing wrong in the Dorm Uniform. Malleus has had a rigid set of understanding of creatures and it's very straightforward instead of nuanced, and even Malleus admits that he wants to try and projects that his advancement on human understanding will only take 100 years. That's fair considering he's been in the human world for 3 FREAKING YEARS, guys. I believe if we were given how long it took Lilia to understand a human customs outside of Silver experience, it'd not do anything to people's opinions. Because to them, it's not about him learning. He doesn't know so he's obviously a BAD CHARACTER, that must be it! "He's a jerk and now I'm going to do a 180° on my own Malleus opinion that is all over my blog and gave my followers whiplash, starting a bashing war by actually not doing a proper review of his character!" No. That's unfair. Why?
Malleus is an interesting character and I'm so sad that he's gone so far into the fandom that he's been woobified and there is no self warn anything: no disclaimer that this is a more romantic Malleus compared to the canon one, or people admitting that Malleus might be OOC as his character reads so incomplete because they write him so... wrong? I think my real problem is the tail end of fandoms that radicalize and throw Malleus around as something he isn't, and that's okay to a certain degree (my /Reader blog acknowledged that Malleus is a canon as I can do without just being Readers buddy, which he's more likely to be in canon). It's just... people are too radical, I think.
I fear the wars this man will create when Chapter 7, Part 3 shows he's got more flaws then he does. I can see a Rook Chapter 5 happening. :(
But I'm not all pessimistic, I know the right fandom should be encouraged and the minority should be ignored, so I know whatever Yana/Aniplex gives us: I support. I know common artists, writer's, editors are all doing fine and I interact normally, but I hate the "drop him" culture these games have in the EN side.
Oh no I get you.
Malleus by himself is an interesting character in his own right, without needing to be steeped in fanon.
I do think that because he was left to stew on his own with pieces of content to hold Mallelikers over, people ended up turning him into their own character to fit their own needs.
And in some ways it's kinda meta because that was something he was trying to escape his whole life so that he could be welcomed by those around him.
I'm usually not as steeped in the fandom as I used to be what w college and stuff creeping up but I'm genuinely sorry that everyone has experienced some form of harassment from both sides of the fence bc one hc didn't fit the other's or the argument of whether his character is good enough or not.
It's disheartening to see others get jumped because of how strongly they feel towards a character and its horrible that you have to endure that on your page anon.
I'm honestly praying Malleus doesn't go through what Rook went thru because that moment is still be felt to this day due to how decisive it was 😭😭😭.
And it's funny bc Rook not choosing Vil was supposed to give Vil growth, who was so hard pressed on winning to the point that he'd contemplated killing his opponent and subsequently Overblotted. The point was that Vil wasn't supposed to win because it'd feed into him. It was a lesson.
With Malleus' Dorm Vignette, I'd argue that him summoning the other dorm leaders was a long time coming considering they weren't doing any affirmative actions to ensure that Malleus could attend. He brought them to him because it was the only thing he could think of; he's not good with technology, time is a construct to him, and no student is willing to approach him for the fun of it unless it's to get smth out of it. It was mostly an act of burning the village to feel its warmth tho it wasn't out of malicious intent.
In the end I can reason he was still partially wrong, he only considered brainstorming with Lilia [and Lilia, a jokester that he is, encouraged him.] Instead of talking to Crowley.
But I do think that Malleus being the poster boy has led to him being so oversaturated in the fandom that a lot of his personality is lost in translation once more.
I liken it to Ace Trappola. Fanon!Ace played up his worst traits to the max without allowing the nuance of his character growth to shine thru. Luckily, Ace is in the recovery period but the same cannot be said for Floyd 😭😭😭.
My most basic observation is that popularity takes the nuance out of characters and I'm hoping against hope that Chapter 7 shows a new side of Malleus that sets the record straight bc as someone who loves character studies watching Malleus get chopped and screwed is 🥶🥶🥶.

hello clari i hope you’re doing well! how do you feel about rei’s ending in slow damage? i know a lot of people don’t like that he drops his femininity but i feel like his happy end is accepting the masculinity he spent so long denying and i was wondering what you think! ^-^
Hello, hellooooo! Ok (cracks my knuckles) ive been silent on slowdam for a while with some thoughts cooking in my head and i feel like its time to let a few of them out - to talk about how i feel about rei's route, i must first explain my understanding of slow damage in its entirety... i talked about it here and there to emery and dove but here comes a synthesis!
I warn you: this is only my unconventional analysis, and I think that many will find it unsatisfying and disagree. If anyone wants to discuss or criticize any of my points, i am open to having my mind changed.
Huge thanks to Renne who introduced me to Surodame and set me on the path of studying it!
Under the cut TW: rape, csa
Slow Damage is a story about the consequences and the cyclic nature of abuse. Abuse sticks its claws into you and rakes down, leaving behind four ditches - orderly in some cases, and more chaotic in others. Either way, even as the skin and flesh heal, there is now a generous amount of empty space in you, and Slow Damage poses a question - what will you fill it up with, hmm?
I went into this VN knowing only that Towa enjoys rather extreme forms of self harm, and I have to admit that this was precisely what captivated my attention at first - the promise of a severely damaged protagonist, and the hope that he is more than a run-of-the-mill masochist. I was not disappointed.
The extent to which towa relates injury to sex and pain to pleasure immediately made me suspect the sort of trauma he must have endured in childhood. For a moment, I thought: Isn't the solution to this mystery a little too obvious? Looking back at the lack of subtlety, though, I don't think that Towa being a CSA victim was supposed to be some kind of a grand reveal. The point wasn't in cracking the mystery, in understanding motivations and getting concrete answers - the point was observing onr case of the consequences of abuse that will tell us - no, ASK us - something about all of them. HOW does the thing that happened to Towa keep happening over and over, and in silence too? What mechanisms allow it to happen, and to stay hidden? What all sorts of people, some of them generally good and kind, participate in these mechanisms?
Let us retrace our steps.
Maya forced her own son into violent prostitution from a very young age, all the while teaching him how to use charms to his advantage, how to manipulate people and fulfill their desires in order to gain control over them. The WAY she taught those things methodically seems to insinuate that this was something she herself had been taught at a young age and passed on; the art of assuming the exact persona you need to prod into people's insides. This isn't to say that her actions classify as excusable - in fact, isn't the fact that she's putting her child through the horrors she experienced herself even more disgusting? I wonder if her lessons in human psychology were all for the self-obsessed purpose of turning her son into a copy of herself... or was she, in a twisted way, thinking it would hell him endure and rise the way that she did? I am going to let that question hang in the air - after all, the point of Surodame isn't to review individual motivations, but to ask questions about the grander scheme of things. That is precisely why I cried together with Towa upon reading the strangely frail account of Maya's diary: I just can't make this work... realizing that the slow-growing disease had spread beyond that mother-son duo, beyond the walls of Euphoria, beyond Shinkoumi... in every corner of the world, there are hundreds of Mayas and Towas, and millions upon millions of Silent Takus wondering what they could have done differently.
For starters I want to focus on Towa himself. When I think about him, the first phrase that comes to mind is 'a void filled with the dregs of abuse'. Though he himself doesn't remember his abuse throughout the first three routes, his every move is a reflection of it: every sexual encounter both a self-inflicted wound and an attempt to affirm: IT'S ME WHO CHOSE TO DO THIS TO MYSELF, which is why Towa's breakdown upon realizing that not even his scars are his own is especially painful. I like the choice of stating that Maya did not like nor understand art. She COULDN'T understand it. Though the penchant for uncovering people's dark desires and the ability to read them were all influenced by Maya, the instinct to paint those is Towa's. The art that almost died together with him was the one thing that belonged to him alone - and yet, there is comfort in the fact that the true route ends with him saying that he doesn't know whether he'll paint anymore or not. What matters is that he quit performing euphoric episodes, closed the cycle of abuse and perpetuating Maya's ideals, and began walking towards a peaceful life. The sight of the atelier in the main menu all clean and bright upon Towa's vision returning to normal made me strangely emotional; the reveal that the painting was never dark and muddy, that the atelier was never that dark and scary... the final tour around Shinkoumi with everyone telling Towa that he looks like something good had happened to him... at the end of a very painful road, Towa still found some comfort in existing.
But what of Fujieda? Of Madarame, of Rei, Taku? For a BLVN, isn't it strange to go 6 paragraphs deep without mentioning any of the love interests?
I will preface this by saying that, to me, the very point of Surodame lies in the fact that none of them are ultimately good boyfriends to Towa. I really wanted to interpret the actions of the three sans Madarame more charitably than I do now, but in reasoning with myself, I failed at every single attempt. They are, to varying degrees and each in their own way, a deadend.
Let's go route by route.
Murase Takuma is a kind man in a way Towa is not - this is driven into our heads from the start, he is a doctor. He cares for children, workers and the elderly. He even lends an ear to them outside of his responsibilities as their physician, overworking himself to the brink of death. His role as a caretaker of a hopeless, bleak person like Towa, an addict who is destructive towards both himself and others, can certainly be percieved as saintly. Even his actions of keeping Towa's past from him, burning letters and throwing away packages, were all for the sake of preserving Towa's sanity! However, though Taku's intentions are pure, I can't read them as benign. Well - he is probably the most benign of the four men Towa involves himself with, being the only one who never physically lashed out on him. Neither abuser nor victim, Taku is a third thing entirely - an observer. A hider, a savior, a carer... and at its core, though not intentionally, an enabler. I do agree that there was nothing Taku could have done to save Towa as a child. There just wasn't a way to take Towa away from Euphoria while Maya lived. I do believe that he did the best he could, patching Towa up time after time... staying throughout the years, changing the bedding, throwing out the liquor bottles. Eat something, Towa. Smoke less, Towa. Once Towa got a lot older, Taku grew to love him romantically. Though I find it unsavory, Towa is over twenty-five at this point so it's not really some big deal. The much more dreadful power imbalance than that in age is the fact that Taku is holding the entirety of Towa's past, his abuse, and his identity over his head. Once again, I'm not calling Taku out as a gaslighter here - not in this route, at least, since Towa had no interest in his true identity at this point anyway. But you can't deny that their happy ending - embracing under the cherry blossoms with a calmer, more mature looking Towa, his hair a clean black, an orderly cardigan billowing behind him - is a sort of a quiet misery. Taku loves the man he saved (raised?), the man who presumably quit painful sex for his sake, and Towa doesn't even know what it is that he's being saved from. Towa is a hole. I really might not have interpreted this ending so negatively if it wasn't for the scene of Taku showing Towa a photograph of him as a little child in a restaurant with his mother. This smiling child prostitute in an orderly little boys' getup, dining with his pimp mother and his future lover. It felt to me like a means of truly driving into our brains the extent of Taku's helplessness, delusion, failure, and LIES. The photograph is a fabricated reality, a fabricated happy past that he feeds to Towa. In this route, this is what Towa filled the ditch with - a daydream, and sweet vanilla sex that doesn't scratch his itch. I can't give them more than five years before Towa falls back into his old habits. The end.
Now we get to Rei, who you originally asked me about. I am sorry I dragged it out to this extent, but I truly can't talk about Rei alone without addressing the grand scheme of things. Rei is also a sort of a carer to Towa, though a more casual one. A friend friend rather than a dad friend, I say this with half a scowl hanging off my face. Let us review Rei's situation with gender - due to his toxic, abusive dad (who was also a child sex trafficker, might I add!) degrading him for his homosexuality and saying it made him less of a man, Rei developed an aversion to masculinity, speaking in onee-kotoba and growing out his hair and such. At some point he attempted to cut off his own penis in Towa's presence, but ended up hesitating and not going through. All in all, he decided to drop all things associated with traditional masculinity other than street fighting, which he uses to vent out his frustration. This is the key word here - FRUSTRATION. Rei's frustration grows to hundred percent when he is forced to enter to-the-death matches. Killing opponent after opponent, Rei grows more frustrated and less and less like his friendly effeminate self. I think the key solution to the question of 'how is the writing of rei's gender handled?' Is the fact that Rei rediscovered his masculinity through violence. And Slow Damage is not a game that... likes violence, encourages it, or overall relates it to anything remotely positive. I don't think that Rei reconnected to his masculinity in a healthy way, and I don't think it's meant to be read as a cool finding himself arc. Most of all, it's not his or Towa's happy ending. Towa... the thing is that Rei only realized a sexual attraction to Towa once the amount of violence in his life amplified to the max. As his level of 'manliness' grew. Their sex scene is very frank about this - after he and Towa beat each other into bloody pulp, he says something along the lines of 'I'm a man and I want to fuck you.' I think it drives the point further that he was the only virginal love interest to that point - when he percieved himself as a woman, he had no violent sexual appetites, or at least didn't see a way towards realizing them. Once he 'reverted' into a man though, he could fuck Towa. He could claim his prize - who has no objections, given that it feeds perfectly into his own penchant that I described at the start. And their ending, showing us a casually manly Rei biking with Towa? We have no proof that he's in any way abusive, nor that they're unhappy, but... this 'new gender' of his, he built it up with bricks made of blood, some of it Towa's. I don't think Rei reached a happy ending. I think Rei is a feminine person, or at the very least a gender nonconforming man who retreated back into the closet within the violent festa that his father brought upon him... many will disagree, but this is how I read it - a manhood built up on violence equals unhapliness for two. I think Towa and Rei might stay together longer than Towa and Taku would, but it won't bring either of them any healing. The end.
Madarame's route is the simplest, since Madarame does not hide himself behind any masks. He is a violent, shameless pedophile rapist who gladly continues paving the road of self-destruction that Maya had left off half-finished. I think that placing this ending behind Taku and Rei's serves as a bit of a wake up call who felt pacified by the former two - um, hey, hello? Did you forget? This is not a 'happy story'. For some three hours you watch Madarame break Towa psychologically, repeatedly rape and torture him - only to release him back to Taku and Rei for Towa to find that he can't truly fit im with them anymore. What purpose does it serve? Well, I think it just shows us that there never was any long-term happiness waiting for Towa with either of those men. I think the purpose of the Madarame route, beyond preparing us for the true route, is to totally nullify the effect of the first two. A 'forget what you thought you knew' type of detail. Broken into obedience, a wild blond Towa kissed Madarame after a boxing match. The end.
Fujieda.
He perplexes me the most, and I'm still not entirely certain in the answer I arrived to. Why would the author who penned this painfully real story about abuse have Towa end up with a man who - midway through the route - raped him? I tried to work wonders to explain this to myself, try to interpret it differently, but the truth is concrete. Fujieda raped Towa in a fit of rage, and then with a sober mind refused to apologise for it. Why would this be in a 'painfully real story about abuse?'
...precisely because it's painfully real. It happened to Towa. It happened to a million others. It might happen to you. When you hit your knee, do your fingers not venture to fondle the bruise, press down for a small reminder of what the pain felt like? The fingers are usually kind, but once in a while, they press down.
And again - Fujieda does not consistently abuse Towa. In fact, he gives him his first taste of truly pleasurable sex in a scene that pushed me to the brink of tears in its sad honesty. When Fujieda has a good day, he gently washes the remnants of assault out of Towa. But when he had an extremely bad way, he was the perpetrator of the assault. I think it's 'painfully real' for Towa to end up with such a man. After coming to terms with his past, this was the best he could do. This was as much as he could save himself. The VN ends on such a note - don't be too happy for him, and don't be too sad. I do believe that Fujieda brought Towa some comfort and clarity, but I can't say that this isn't a deadend, too. Just a more peaceful one in the light. In the ocean.
What's the point then, if Towa ends up stranded no matter what choices you make? Let's return to the beginning, to the ditch abuse made in you. Sometimes you fill it in with fantasies, sometimes with violence, sometimes with the 'next best thing', a 'he's a good man you know, he's only rough when he drinks' typa marriage... no matter what, fact is that all abused kids seek to fill it in with something familiar. Something they know and recognize. It yearns to be filled, it aches for it - whatever you're ready to dish out, just put it in! I think this merry-go-round of victims and perpetrators is what Surodame is tryong to turn our eyes towards, or at least force us to stop averting them. So that you may not scorn the Towa in your life, so that if you are a Towa yourself, you may find comfort in knowing that someone somewhere dreemed you up, empathized with you and lead your hand along the path. Why, then, do we not see our Towa free?
Well, the future is long. He was in an ocean. Maybe he walked out.

Slow Damage name analysis: Towa
Tumblr media
I did a post on the Slow Damage character names before. This post is an in-depth analysis of what the names mean for the characters.
The name meaning of Slow Damage may not be important on the surface but take an in-depth look at it, it does.  Japanese culture is full of symbolism, tradition, and cultural nuances. When it comes to choosing names you need to pay attention to the context of how the names are used. When choosing a Japanese name it's important to know the context of how kanji are used in Japanese. Looking at the cultural nuances of the names reveals it does say a lot about the character in ways you wouldn’t notice. It's about the subtlety in names and needs to be seen.
I am not an expert on Japanese culture so I'll give a disclaimer since I have limited knowledge of it. Feel free to add your input to this.
Let's take a nose dive into the name with the game's main protagonist Towa.
Towa
The name "Towa" is a nickname that is revealed in the short story,
it came from “daredemo towazu” meaning "to sleep with anyone.” This is an insult to his promiscuity, which later turned into the name he uses. Towa himself doesn’t care what he is called. He kind of stuck with it since he hated being called by his other name. He doesn't want to be stuck with the name his mother chose for him as a way to own his autonomy. The word usage of Towa comes up again but it is used differently.
Towa's real name is Haruto Sakuragi ( 悠斗 桜木)
Haru (悠)
“Haru,悠” means “permanence, much far, distant, long time, leisure, quiet, calm, composed, far-off, boundless, endless, eternal”
The meaning in the kanji sums up Towas personality in that he comes off to other people as cold, apathetic and distant with both himself and others. He is quiet and calm, completely stoic, never reacting in distressing situations. He blends in the background and fading in it he is closed off and in the dark about his past and himself. If you look at the narration of the game he is not much of a character because of how he acts in the story he is put on the sideline as a side character in the routes not having any focus giving it to the love interests. The meaning “permanence” refers to how he is locked in a permanent self-destructive state by his mother.
The kanji for “悠” is used in Japanese “悠々自適” meaning "living a life of leisure with dignity; living quietly and comfortably free from worldly cares;"
This infers Towa lives a hedonistic lifestyle and seems unconcerned about what would happen to himself.
To(斗)
“To,斗” means "a unit of liquid measure.” It's used for the used in the “Big Dipper from a star constellation, ladle.” something you used to pour in like a ladle.
It refers to the hourglass mechanic in the psychology segments and Maya's words to Towa.
"相手の望みを叶えれば叶えるほど、心が自らこちらへ流れてくるわ。 砂時計のようにね”
"Grant their wishes and their hearts will flow to you... like an hourglass.”
In Japan, children are named after their parent's expectations of what their child should be. Towa’s given name references a certain idea that his mother wanted from him. The reason why she gave him Haruto as a name references what she thought of her son. Maya treated Towa like property to shape and mold into the image she wants disregarding her son's will like the sand in the hourglass. Maya wanted to convert her son to her image that she believes is the best version of him she thought she was doing it in Towa’s best interest but it was her own.
In the end, it is revealed that she harbored warped love towards her son but is unable to love and form connections due to how broken she is as a human. which resulted in her feeling distant from her son citing she feels far away from him
二度と届かない あなたはずっと so far away It will never reach you again, you’re always so far away
遠く響くあの日のララバイ 愛しさが今戻ったとしても 二度と届かない あなたはずっと so far away Resounding from the distance, the lullaby of that day Even if the love returned now It will never reach you again, you’re always so far away
though she loved Towa, she was never able to connect with her son in her last moments.
Haru is a Japanese homophone of spring referencing the month Towa is born. Spring is associated with light, and warmth. Towa was locked in a permanent winter by his mother but in the end, he finally lets the warmth of spring thaw his frozen heart.
Towa lets the light in by letting others in opening himself up accepts compassion and kindness. Towa is surrounded by people who genuinely look out for his well-being and see what life can offer him. He finally sees the world for what it is and enjoys living. If you think back to how he is introduced, Towa does change a lot in the true end compared with when he was first introduced. the name represents the transition Towa's character goes through in the game. Towa achieves happiness in a way Maya couldn’t see with his love interests.
Another example of the change is seen in the use of Towa,
トワに鳴る心臓亀裂の海
Towa ni naru shinzou kiretsu no umi
A heart beating for eternity, a sea full of cracks
despite it being an insult that people choose for him. Towa transforms it into someone beautiful in the song. It changes from being a derogatory term to using a word change in eternity. This shows the peak of Towas character development.
Sakuragi (桜木)
“Sakura” means “桜, cherry blossom” and “Gi” means “木, tree” When put together it's spelled “cherry blossom tree”.
Cherry blossoms are the flower of spring in Japanese culture and have prominent symbolism to them. Cherry blossoms are symbolic of ethereality, transience, renewal, death, rebirth, and new beginnings. They are short-lived flowers that only bloom for an amount of time because of their short life spans in Buddhist philosophy. Cherry blossoms are fragile and known for being gentle, delicate flowers. cherry blossoms imply everyone can change anytime change themselves teaches them about happiness
The cherry blossom symbolism has a lot to do with Towa, referring to Towa's hedonistic lifestyle and apathetic demeanor, apathetic to living and not caring if he lives or dies. People compare Towa to a walking corpse close to death day by day that can fall dead any moment.
Towa's surname is Sakuragi meaning cherry blossom tree which references the history associated with it.
In ancient times it has been believed that trees are inhabited by gods. gods came down and inhabited cherry blossom trees. When cherry blossoms bloomed it was a sign that god came down. The basis of hanami is to leave offerings of rice and sake to the kami inside the trees which people believed inhibited cherry blossoms. Towas name means cherry blossom tree might not be far-fetched since the whole god inhibits cherry blossoms; it foreshadowed sakakis plan for Towa used as a vessel to hold Maya's spirit for the second coming.
The last thing to say is the cherry blossom symbolism notes Towa’s character, Towa finally gets a new life after a cold winter and rejects and moves on from Maya's influence. Gets to experience a new beginning since he gets rid of his last name and finally lives Towa gets well-deserved closure with his past, sees what life has to offer and loves himself.
Towa’s name goes through numerous transitions in the game that correlate to his character development
Towas character goes through a transition in the game and his name references that.

Nitro+Chiral Characters Fighting Ranking ( & Game Stats?)
Big dumb brain moment. On the Dmmd discord, we suddenly had a conversation ranking the N+C characters based on their fighting skills. (Subject to change as we discuss more!)
Protagonists + their love interests:
Rhyme!Ren (Dramatical murder) > Nano (Togainu no Chi) > Clear (Dmmd) > Shiki (TnC)/Rai (Lamento)> Madarame (Slow damage) > Asato (L) > Bardo (L) >  Desire!Aoba (Dmmd) > demon!Koujaku (Dmmd) > Rei (SD) > Mink (Dmmd) > Konoe (L) > sane!Koujaku > drugged!Keisuke (TnC) > Akira (TnC) > Reason!Aoba (Dmmd) > Noiz (Dmmd)/Rin (TnC) > sober!Keisuke (TnC) > Fujieda (SD) > Towa (when not malnourished) > Taku (SD)/Motomi (TnC) > human!Ren (Dmmd) > Tetsuo (Sweet pool) > Zenya (SP) > Makoto (SP) >>>>>>>>>>>>> Youji (SP)
(Thanks @yukirayu & some other people that I can’t find on tumblr.)
And then some bonus headcanons for a Smash-style crossover fighting game w/ the characters + some other characters cause let’s be honest; don’t we wanna see Koujaku vs Shiki or smash-versions of Rhyme!Ren shooting cannonballs at Towa throwing beer bottles? Or Mink riding on a Tori-motorcycle, Minecraft Steve style xD
Ren: All-arounder or zone breaker. Obviously he’s just gonna be his Rhyme battle version with the same powers, which have long range attacks like the arm cannon which can also be good close range attacks when in blade/claw form, good defense, and i think in a rhyme battle he once regenerated his own HP? Plus he was Desire!Aoba’s champion Allmate for several years with Sly Blue.
Aoba: Rushdown. He’s agile, mostly known for kicks, but isn’t super defensive. However Desire!Aoba is able to come out as his ult move for some serious brain damage 1HKOs. Alternatively, Desire!Aoba is a separate glass canon fighter who has has Scrap as his ult?
Sei: His real body is weak but he could be a puppeteer for Usui who would do the actual battling.
Youji: Ok we had to get real creative with this because the cast of Sweet Pool are all high school weaklings xD Basically he’d be a zoner who summons meat monsters/shoot meat chunks for attacks, and then has the Pure breed do something for his ult.
Towa: Also got creative with this- along with close combat moves, he also attacks with beer bottles, molotov cocktails, art canvases, and then his ult is pouring oil paint or paint thinner on the ground and lighting everything on fire.
Mink: He’s a grappler and he can bring out the Tori-motorcycle to do some Smash Minecraft Steve-style cart riding. And also ride onstage himself.
Keisuke: He should have screwdrivers cause of... that scene. But otherwise a glass canon rushdown.
Makoto: More Sweet pool weakling creativeness. A box cutter would be his primary weapon, but he’d also have biting attacks cause of... that scene.
Clear: As cute as he is... I think he’d also be a zone breaker or dominator. Superhuman strength, (usually) immediate self healing, very fast/can jump hella high, high defense due to being a robot (he survived an acid attack man), and music powers.
Uuuuh more to come!

this has the potential to sound extremely convoluted but i don't think dark and daisuke can be separated outside of messing with their dreams. two things first: dark remains both daisuke's literal and metaphorical dream, and dark himself has described the worlds inside of the artworks that he can move and bring daisuke into and out of also as dream(world)s.
what gets me is the way that dark and daisuke have been forcefully separated a few times before, but there's absolutely nothing showing how they unify again aside from daisuke being capable of drawing dark right back out from within himself in the real world or insanely quick transition cuts - i mean things like dark standing around or being in completely different areas to suddenly dwelling within daisuke again as soon as daisuke leaves the art's world. that being said it would make a lot of sense that without its true 'host' dark (as a dream) wouldn't actually be able to last very long or would be missing a lot of core human functions even while being the sole one in control of daisuke's body in the normal world. meanwhile, within an artwork, daisuke is the one that can't last very long by himself. (a la rokuto arc, a human being can't be left to dream forever; they've got to live.)
i feel like there's smth to be said about towa and baku's arcs too- with dark and daisuke trading so much of themselves; dark living daisuke's ordinary life as 'his' dream, which turns out to be daisuke's very own instead, or daisuke losing control of his form and turning into dark even within baku's nightmares, despite the fact he's still supposed to be completely, utterly 'separated' from dark and couldn't properly hear dark's voice anymore. dark's dependency and impatience in regards to daisuke and daisuke's calling for/searching for him is also pretty telling. even when they're 'separated', dark is always still there and can be drawn out from daisuke so long as daisuke himself is willing to call and reach out for dark. <- way more difficult than it actually seems for daisuke, who's often lying to himself and has major insecurity issues esp in regards to 'being dark.'
anyways. the only real relevance this would have to anything rp related is in regards to separating them. something like an exorcism probably wouldn't work because dark isn't... actually a ghost. metaphorically he's a legacy inherited and an ambition that daisuke wants to be able to find confidence in and meet. literally, dark is an artwork; magic and a dream that's been laser-engraved into daisuke's very own blood and DNA. it's as strenuous to try to completely remove him or 'cure' daisuke as it is to remove the fact he is, and has been raised as a thief for his entire life from him.

Event: Can't Communicate
When a person has extreme social anxiety, they struggle to communicate with others.
Bear in mind, they only struggle to form connections. It doesn’t mean that they don’t want to.
(Before anyone asks, yes. This event is inspired by Komi Can't Communicate. I also thought it would be fun use the exact quote as a reference. Also, keep in mind that this takes place sometime after the Towa City event
As the camera turns on, Makoto was facing it with a slight smile on his face. He's gotten a bit more confident it seems.
Tumblr media
"Hey everyone. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who heled us to save our loved ones and go up against to Warriors of Hope. Things have been a lot better now that we've been reunited. The warriors themselves have since been living better lives in our care too. Best of all, we saved Towa City. With all that all being said..."
Tumblr media
"We uh... kind of need your help with something else. Recently, we found an Ultimate Despair and helped freed him from the Despair he was in."
Tumblr media
"He's... pretty nervous to show his face. I'm hoping that maybe making some new friends will help him, but... He doesn't seem too sure about it."
Cautious footsteps can be heard.
Tumblr media
"Huh? You want to introduce yourself?"
Tumblr media
"In that case, go for it! I'm sure you'll be making friends in no time."
The footsteps kept going, until eventually, a new face is revealed.
Tumblr media
"..."
Oh! Look! It's Nagito Komaeda. He looks like he wants to say something, but... isn't saying anything. Is he okay?
Tumblr media
"..."
Tumblr media
"...?"
Nagito tried looking at the camera to say hello.
Tumblr media
Oh dear. That just made him even more nervous. The other timid luckster was now shivering and whimpering. As of matter fact, this was making Makoto begin to shiver and whimper as well.
You might want to step in.
(Yes. This is a timid version of Nagito. I figured since we have a one timid luckster, why not have another.
Originally, this was going to have Makoto try to calm Nagito down, he fails, Nagito hides, Makoto feel super bad, then he hides, Makoto feel bad and hides as well and leaves the interactor(s) to try and calm them both down.
But of course, tumblr has to limit images to 10 per post. *sigh*
This is still the same hope-crazy Nagito we all know and love by the way, He's just more timid than timid!Makoto is(and he has his own backstory for it too) And yes, he is somewhat based on Komi.
I hope that you all enjoy this 200 follower special event! Anyone who isn't tagged can interact too.

Hi Clari! Do you still have your slow damage essay/post? I've been meaning to reread it because I really loved your analysis of the subject
Yesss!!! Here it is under the cut, I edited it a little bit!
Slow Damage is a story about the cyclic nature of abuse and its consequences. Abuse sticks its claws into you and rakes down, leaving behind four ditches - orderly in some cases, and more chaotic in others. Either way, even as the skin and flesh heal, there is now a generous amount of empty space in you, and Slow Damage poses a question - what will you fill it up with?
I went into this VN knowing only that Towa enjoys rather extreme forms of self-harm, and I have to admit that this was precisely what captivated my attention at first - the promise of a severely damaged protagonist, and the hope that he is more than a run-of-the-mill masochist. I was not disappointed.
The extent to which Towa relates injury to sex and pain to pleasure immediately made me suspect the sort of trauma he must have endured in the past. For a moment, I thought: Isn't the solution to this mystery a little too obvious? Looking back at the lack of subtlety, though, I don't think that Towa being a CSA victim was supposed to be some kind of a grand reveal. The point wasn't in cracking the mystery, in understanding motivations and getting concrete answers - the point was observing one case of the consequences of abuse that will tell us - no, ASK us - something about all of them.
I wonder if her lessons in human psychology were all for the self-obsessed purpose of turning her son into a copy of herself... or was she, in a twisted way, thinking it would help him endure and rise the way that she had? I am going to let that question hang in the air - after all, the point of Surodame isn't to review individual motivations, but to ask questions about the grander scheme of things. That is precisely why I cried together with Towa upon reading the strangely frail account of Maya's diary: I just can't make [parenthood] work... realizing that the slow-growing disease had spread beyond that mother-son duo, beyond the walls of Euphoria, beyond Shinkoumi... in every corner of the world, there are hundreds of Mayas and Towas, and millions upon millions of Silent Takus wondering what they could have done differently.
For starters, I want to focus on Towa himself. When I think about him, the first phrase that comes to mind is 'a void filled with the dregs of abuse'. Though he himself doesn't remember his abuse throughout the first three routes, his every move is a reflection of it: every sexual encounter both a self-inflicted wound and an attempt to affirm: IT'S ME WHO CHOSE TO DO THIS TO MYSELF, which is why Towa's breakdown upon realizing that not even his scars belong to himself was especially painful. I like the choice of stating that Maya did not like nor understand art. She couldn’t bring herself to understand it. What matters is that he quit performing euphoric episodes, closed the cycle of abuse and perpetuating Maya's ideals. The sight of the atelier in the main menu all clean and bright upon Towa's vision returning to normal made me strangely emotional; the reveal that the chosen painting was never dark and muddy, that the atelier was never all that dark and scary... the final tour around Shinkoumi with everyone telling Towa that he looks like something good had happened to him... at the end of a very painful road, Towa still found some comfort in existing.
They are, to varying degrees and each in their own way, a dead end.
Let's go route by route.
Murase Takuma is a kind man in a way Towa is not - this is driven into our heads from the start. He is a doctor. He cares for children, workers and the elderly. He even lends an ear to them outside of his responsibilities as their physician, overworking himself to the brink of death. His role as the caretaker of a hopeless, bleak person like Towa, an addict who is destructive towards both himself and others, can certainly be perceived as saintly. Even his actions of keeping Towa's past from him, burning letters and throwing away packages, were all for the sake of preserving Towa's sanity! However, though Taku's intentions are pure, I can't read them as benign. Well - he is probably the most benign of the four men Towa involves himself with, being the only one who never physically lashed out at him. Neither abuser nor victim, Taku is a third thing entirely - an observer. A hider, a savior, a carer... and at his core, though not intentionally, an enabler. Taku loves the man he saved (raised?), the man who presumably quit painful sex for his sake… but Towa doesn't even know what it is that he's being saved from. In this route, this is what Towa filled the ditch with - a daydream, and sweet gentle sex that doesn't scratch his itch. I can't give them more than five years before Towa falls back into his old habits. The end.
Now we get to Rei. Rei is also a sort of a carer to Towa, though a more casual one and closer to him in age. Let us review Rei's situation with gender - due to his toxic, abusive father (who was also a child sex trafficker, might I add!) degrading him for his homosexuality and saying it made him less of a man, Rei developed an aversion to masculinity, speaking in onee-kotoba and growing out his hair and such. At some point he attempted to cut off his own penis in Towa's presence, but ended up hesitating and not going through. All in all, he decided to drop all things associated with traditional masculinity other than street fighting, which he uses to vent out his frustration. This is the key word here – FRUSTRATION, which all of Rei’s pretenses fail to rid him of. Rei's frustration grows to hundred percent when he is forced to enter to-the-death matches to get his deadbeat father out of debt. I don't think that Rei reconnected to his masculinity in a healthy way, and I don't think it's meant to be read as a cool arc about finding the lost self. Most of all, it's not his or Towa's happy ending. Speaking of Towa... the thing is that Rei only realized a sexual attraction to Towa once the amount of violence in his life amplified to the max. As his level of 'manliness' grew. Their sex scene is very frank about this - after he and Towa beat each other into bloody pulp, he says something along the lines of 'I'm a man and I want to fuck you.' I think it drives the point further that he was the only virginal love interest to that point - when he perceived himself as a woman, he had no violent sexual appetites, or at least didn't see a way towards realizing them. I think Rei is a feminine person, or at the very least a gender nonconforming man who retreated back into the closet within the violent festival that his father brought upon him... many will disagree, but this is how I read it - a manhood built up on violence equals unhapiness for two. I think Towa and Rei might stay together longer than Towa and Taku would, but it won't bring either of them any healing. The end.
Madarame's route is the simplest, since Madarame does not hide himself behind any masks. He is a violent, shameless rapist who gladly continues paving the road of self-destruction that Maya had left off half-finished. I think that placing this ending behind Taku and Rei's serves as a bit of a wake-up call to those who felt pacified by the former two - um, hey, hello? Did you forget? This is not a 'happy story'. For some three hours you watch Madarame break Towa psychologically, repeatedly rape and torture him - only to release him back to Taku and Rei for Towa to find that he can't truly fit in among them anymore. The end.
Fujieda.
He perplexes me the most, and I'm still not entirely certain in the answer I arrived at. Why would the author who penned this painfully real story about abuse have Towa end up with a man who - midway through the route - raped him? I tried to work wonders to explain this to myself, try to interpret it differently, but the truth is concrete. Fujieda raped Towa in a fit of rage, and then with a sober mind continued acting like everything was normal between them.
I do believe that Fujieda brought Towa some comfort and clarity, but I can't say that this isn't a dead end, too. Just a more peaceful one in the light. In the ocean.
What's the point then, if Towa ends up stranded no matter what choices you make? Let's return to the beginning, to the ditch abuse made in you. Sometimes you fill it in with fantasies, sometimes with violence, sometimes with the 'next best thing', a 'he's a good man you know, he's only rough when he drinks' type of marriage... no matter what, fact is that all abused kids seek to fill it in with something familiar. Something they know and recognize. It yearns to be filled, it aches for it - whatever you're ready to dish out, just put it in! I think this merry-go-round of victims and perpetrators is what Surodame is trying to turn our eyes towards, or at least force us to stop averting them. So that you may not scorn the Towa in your life, so that if you are a Towa yourself, you may find comfort in knowing that someone somewhere dreamed you up, empathized with you and lead your hand along the path. Why, then, do we not see our Towa free?
Well, the future is long. He was in an ocean. Maybe he walked out.

Custom Toonami Block Week 171 Rundown
Inuyasha The Final Act: Moryomaru’s on his shit again running around absorbing random demons and… he’s after the snake demons from Yashahime? Honestly I completely forgot they were in the original series and apparently for good reason because the FUCKING DIE, like for all its faults usually Yashahime was pretty good about the connective tissue between the original and itself but I guess these guys just aren’t dead anymore by the time of the series. It is kinda dumb that Moryomaru just kinda wants them because ‘they’re snake brothers that hate each other so if I eat them I can fuse stuff to other stuff’ but his arc’s getting ready to end anyway so who cares. Meanwhile Inuyasha’s consulting Totosai about why his new Tessaiga upgrade doesn’t work the diagnosis is basically ‘sword’s fine, you’re just a lil bitch’ basically the same principle that turns Inuyasha into a full demon if the Tessaiga’s not protecting him, he can’t just absorb demonic energy as a half demon or else he’ll go crazy (did anyone ever tell Towa this? Feel like that was literally never a problem for her) but yeah Inuyasha has to run through a demonic obstacle course and learn how to see swirls of demonic energy which… he could already do with the Wind Scar but I guess this is different. Long story short, he gains the power to cut open wells of demonic energy instead of absorbing them, I think this is used like twice before the Meidou Zangetsuha comes by and eats its lunch which is really funny because they already allude to Meidou Zangetsuha being Tessaiga’s Final Form (which you’d think he could just keep absorbing new powers forever idk) so even on release Dragon Scale Tessaiga is already power crept.
Castlevania: We get an extended scene of how Lisa was captured by the church for… having glass and gears I guess, most of it is stuff we already knew though the thing that sticks out to me is she didn’t use a fake last name, like she goes by Lisa Tepes, good for her being proud of her husband and all but don’t people know Dracula’s name is Vlad Tepes? I think I heard someone mention it before so you’re not really helping your case of not being a hellspawn when you literally have Dracula’s last name, it’s a Ben Kenobi situation all over again. Either way, Dracula calls all his boys up to be like ‘yo, we gonna fuck shit up’ and he’s hired two anime misanthropes with suitably tragic backstories for why humans are awful, to do the planning because if you can’t think on a human level you’re gonna fuck shit up. Though even the resident bloodthirsty fight dude Godbrand is like ‘wait we have a plan? I thought we were just sacking villages all over and summoning as much hellspawn as we could’ which is kind of the plan at this point. I do like how Dracula’s rage is personalized by an exhausted finality instead of a howling rage, like everyone seems to be on the same page of ‘look we don’t like genocide, but this humanity thing has had a good run and needs to stop’ which is kind of worse, like there’s only so much talk no jutsu you can do with someone who’s done talking. Meanwhile Trevor, Sypha and Alucard get their initial brooding about their new journey out of the way (Also how old is Alucard? Like he looks in his twenties, but Lisa doesn’t look that much older than when she met Dracula, maybe she just aged like a fine wine or maybe vampire aging is different and you just pop out a twenty year old classy man but it feels like that did not seem to be a twenty year gap). And now Dracula has moved the castle with the big 3D object thing that’s like the only thing I remember from Symphony of the Night.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Megudad is on the rampage and is ready to Rock Lee all over Cthulu and it’s honestly just fantastic to see like after all the complex bullshit with Domains and Animation jargon last episode it’s satisfying to just watch Dadgumi punch the absolute shit out of this guy. They establish he barely has sentience at this point and is basically acting like a heat seeking missile on the largest mass of cursed energy in the area but once he’s done stabbing Cthulu with nunchaku he takes Megumi outside so idk if he does have a shard of sentience in there and just wants to see his son for a sec or if Megumi’s vaguely defined secret superpowers just make him next on Dadgumi’s heat seeking missile radar. Meanwhile Jogo shows up and Cracatoa’s the remaining three guys in like two seconds and I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be an ‘oh shit he’s strong’ moment or an ‘oh shit those guys were really worn out’ moment. Meanwhile meanwhile, the high school girls are sticking fingers down Yuji’s throat because he apparently has no gag reflex and swallows whatever you put in his mouth when he’s unconscious. Only for Jogo to come out and feed him MORE fingers, like half of them right here which they acknowledge they have to do a bunch at once so Sukuna can take over temporarily before Yuji’s body can adapt. I had a feeling JJK wasn’t going to stick to a Shikon Jewel Shard narrative style of collecting the fingers one at a time but this is still a little more than I expected since he’s basically 75% done and got more fingers in him than a Battle Royale Chinese Finger Trap. So yeah Sukuna’s awake but unfortunately for these guys he want to the Muzan Kibutsuchi school of ‘if you’re not immediately subservient and stroking my ego you’re just dead’ and the high school girls get offed for asking him to save Geto even though he asked them what they wanted, like why’s he even asking if he has no intention of doing anything for anybody. I don’t really like this style of villainy like I tend to go more for people that are reasonable to at least not murder their subordinates instantly since it always makes the villains look egotistical and insecure if they can’t handle five seconds of someone not licking their boots but I suppose it is an effective way to show how powerful they are. Meanwhile Jogo goes over the plan to make sure Sukuna stays in control of Yuji’s body and Sukuna’s just like ‘bro I did that a season and a half ago’ but he gives him the same ultimatum he gave Yuji at that point, land one hit and he’ll do them a favor. Idk if Sukuna even intends to make good on any of these I think he just likes flexing on people cause he offers these a lot.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: As a prelude to their journey to go meet with real ghosts, Frieren and Fern have a classic ‘can you shoot a ghost if it looks like someone you love’ mini-adventure, it’s pretty simple but it works for what it has to in order to solidify both of their resolve to go take care of their unfinished business. And then the girls take turns taking pot shots at a dragon and decide they could really use a tank, luckily Eisen was training a tank named Stark in the nearby village so they’re just gonna go pick him up, get the x-ray specs Frieren wants from the dragon and save the village in the meanwhile if they have time. Now Stark is kinda interesting because he’s like a combo of Zenitsu from Demon Slayer and King from One Punch Man in that he’s a weird coward and a fraud but also genuinely ridiculously strong, he just has no real combat experience and thus is terrified of actual monsters. This may also be in part due to him being the only survivor of his home village which he booked it out of when he was a kid, Eisen wanted to train that out of him which I feel like is a little harsh to beat up a kid about running from a horde of monsters, like that’s not cowardice that’s just being fucking nine. But he seems to have internalized some of that and never really gotten over seeing himself as a coward combined with his lack of experience so despite being able to chop a mountain in half like that story of the guy making a path to the hospital, he’s gonna need some help popping his Monster Cherry.
Vinland Saga: So Arnheid’s plan was a little different than I thought, she’s not sneaking in to see Gardar she’s just kinda… asking to come in and because Wolf left and can’t tell her to gfto she gets the one guy that will let her in, I like how she doesn’t even flirt to do it like she’s not a femme fatale she just shows up and looks pretty and the guy is just there for it. So yeah while they’re talking about a metaphorical storm it literally starts raining because Vinland Saga god has a sense of humor and Gardar pulls a Rick Grimes to bite the guard’s neck out and slaughters everyone when Arnheid cuts him free in a split second panic. Like honestly she was kinda against a wall here like ignoring the fact that it was a coin flip split second decision for her husband, even if she didn’t help him the guards are still gonna assume the guy with a chunk out of his neck had more to do with her than the guy that’s all tied up so she didn’t have much choice. Meanwhile back with Thorfinn and Einar, Thorfinn outlines his philosophy of dismantling the toxic masculinity of Norse culture and how defying cultural norms is better than just fucking murdering people that are mildly rude to you. Still he theorizes that if they can stop the root of endless wars they can kill two birds with one pacifist stone and end a large portion of the slave trade. Given slavery and human trafficking are STILL a thing we know this doesn’t quite work out but at least it’s not as normalized and prone to vast swaths of ‘we killed your guys that were good at killing so you belong to us now’ so uhhh… baby steps? Baby, thousand year long steps… Meanwhile the guards are searching their barn for Gardar and Arnheid which tips Thorfinn and Einar off that they’ve escaped and now they’ve got a decision to make about who to help with that.
Was gonna add the two new shows this week but couldn't find some of them and ran out of time so I'll think more on what I want to watch this coming week and try to get some new additions for next weekend.
