“Oh my goodness.” you mutter as Abby’s jeep halts in the small parking spot right outside your home. You hastily wipe some excess sweat off your brow, the adrenaline and stress from the day finally catching up to you. You slowly reach out your hand and rub your wife’s arm as she sighs softly from the driver’s seat. “Long day?” Abby asks.

 “Like you can’t imagine.” you giggle. “And we also have to unload the presents from the truck, and go downtown to get the photos, and send everyone the thank you cards-”

 “That can wait.” she cuts you off gently. She reaches out to unbuckle her seatbelt and a second later, she’s outside the car. Instead of heading towards the front door though, she appears outside of the passenger’s seat, opening the door for you and extending her arms out. “C’mon baby” she whispers to you. “It’s only appropriate that we do this right now.”

 You let out a high pitched giggle, silently agreeing. You have done this countless times with Abby, letting her lift you in this manner, usually after she fucks you in the living room or the kitchen and she carries you to bed to rest. You wrap an arm around her shoulders as she hooks a burly arm around you, lifting you up and closing the car door with her foot.  “Hey back.” she lets out, as she carries you bridal style to the door, fumbling in her pocket for the keys. As you enter your house, you feel the familiar smell of cinnamon and something vaguely floral hit your nostrils, and you sigh in content. You’re home, with your wife-you still couldn’t get used to blurting out the phrase, your brain still in an intermediary place. You gently try to wiggle out of her grasp, and at the same time you throw your shoes off your feet, trying to ease your aching soles. “You gonna let me go, Mrs Anderson?” you ask, even though you’re already familiar with the answer. 

 “No way baby” Abby shrugs, and you feel her grip tighter around you as she heads up the stairs, discarding her loafers at the bottom of it as well. “You think now that I got ya, I’m gonna let go? I took my vows very seriously, you know.” 

“Mmm, I hope so dear” you close your eyes and nuzzle into her neck, breathing in her sandalwood cologne and something else, a musky, earthly scent you have come to associate with Abby only. You could just wish to immerse yourself in it, feel Abby’s touch, taste and smell and nothing else.  Abby smiles at your excited expression, and reaches for a utility lighter on the dresser. In a few steps, she’s lighting the candles, and you watch her enamored at the notion of such a romantic setting.

“At noon, while you were getting all dolled up. I thought you might appreciate the ambiance.” She leans over the bed and lights the ones on her nightstand, as you notice that her usual book is missing. Good thinking, you think to yourself. You spent so much time worrying about the wedding preparations, the last thing you need now is a house fire. 

 “I do babe.” You crawl on the bed and reach for her, straddling her lap. There are a lot of stories I have started reading in the middle of it and intend to catch up the beginning of them. But I can instantly get hooked on so many stories, as long as someone puts "previous | next" buttons, I'm in danger of falling into a story's universe. (I also have the hardest time to follow everyone but I try to.)

@matchalovertrait (OF COURSE YOU) I still need to catch up before I met sassy toddler Dulce. I can't believe she's a preteen now. I do enjoy following people's legacy challenges and I like how I forget that it's one with how you really create your own storylines around the base requirements.

@ice-creamforbreakfast I'm not going to lie, I came for the CC, I stayed for the BACC challenge and I am now following the Romano legacy.

@gooretrait I really do love following legacy challenges. Also, console player?? It's also a good reminder of all the fun you can get without cc and mods, just very inspiring imagination-wise.

@eurosimmer breaks the fourth wall in her captions and it's hilarious to me. It's also a legacy challenge, but oh boy I forget it everytime.

@pleasanttaleswithkaityb completely changed my way of playing! (and also of sharing content on tumblr) I also have a soft spot for taking townies as a base, because we kind of all know the backstories for them a bit. (I say that and I never played Sims 2, just binge-watched Sims lore videos.) I love how people change their stories.

@ruthplaysthesims Talking about appropriating Sims townies and make them evolve, I LOVE Kaori's story. In TS4 we all know the lore is meh (with it being on supposedly another timeline etc). The Mt. Komorebi storyline is SO interesting, I really have to play in that world someday without ruining them all. And somehow, Ruth made it even more interesting! Like I already wanted to know more about them, now I'm looking for any little bit of detail referencing their childhood or something. Anyway I highly recommend, I love all the new stories she put out as well (Raina 💖)

@kamiiri Back to other Sims lore game, I LOVE Strange! I watched a LP of Sims 2 on PS very recently and somehow found Strange at the same time... The setting, the weaving of all the storylines together, continuing all of them together... I love it. It's also very cinematic I'd say? There's something in those screenshots, I love it.

@holocene-sims One day I saw a notification of them and next thing you know I was trying to read everything about Grant from the start on mobile (but it's hard to read on mobile so I have A LOT to catch up). So now I'm catching up the recent story posts! But as I'm writing this post, I know I have a lot to catch up already.

@cinamun Add it to the list of "I should really read the beginning of it but for now I'll just keep on trying to catch any post they make", Things Fall Apart's universe has really sucked me in and I really like how cinamun interacts with everyone! (I admit I am a lurker but I want to try this lemon pepper wings recipe someday and share them with all the readers.) Reading TFA really gives me the vibes of watching a daily evening TV show with my family: we did not necessarily watch since the beginning, we just one day started watching all together, and now we're eating dinner in front of it every night. (And of course sharing our reactions)

@havenroyals If you like some spice and love messy stuffs, you'll be served. I also really like the Gossip queen edits it's just such an interesting way to add variation to tell stories.

@theroyalsims In the same vein of the Gossip Queen edits, I really like how we follow the story of the royal families with articles about them and not from their direct point of view. (I'm also currently trying to guess who is getting married soon because I know there is a royal wedding soon among those sims.)

OK small pause because we've entered the royal simblrs that I follow. There are a lot, it's how I found the simblr community in the first place. One thing I have to say is that I love all the collabs people do, the way so many stories are interconnected through everyone's sim and I genuinely think it's a lovely community (even if I'm not part of it myself as I'm just a reader).

@sosa-royals is the first royal simblr I came across and read everything. The drama? I LOVED it.

@officalroyalsofpierreland After meeting child Maria Aisha I had to learn more about her family. I was not disappointed.

@funkyllama this inevitably led me to want to learn more about the Ionian Union and I really like the world building in general? Also those last edits? I love it.

@empiredesimparte of course there is the complete Europeansim on my list. I particularly enjoy reading in French sometimes when my mind just wants to rest from reading in English. I also love Hortense and everytime I see a big event in the story I would be like: "oh J'AI LA REF ! It really looks like in real life." (you are very talented at building). And in general, I really recommend the worldbuilding tag? Because I love it?

@anachrosims' @prydainroyals Talking about someone talented at building? Yeah, I still have to catch up from the beginning. But this one should be feasible as it is more recent? (I don't know, you're also a good writer, PLEASE tell me what you can't do.)

@nexility-sims Among stories that are easy to start digging in someone's universe, I would recommend reading 1992. Eventually I'll read the story it's a spin-off of and @/armoricaroyalty's story, but yeah. My list of stories to catch up is already long for now.

@trentonsimblr and @ardeney-sims I'm putting both of them in the same bullet point because I've been wanting to enjoy their stories for a while and only decided to fully commit when Between A Rock and A Hard Place started. Similarly to 1992, it can be enjoyed without having the whole back story but yeah. I'll definitely enjoy reading the back stories of main characters and "side" characters (which you see glimpses of in BRHP).

@thegrimalldis Very similarly to the previous bullet points, I started reading with a "spinoff", the prequel "Maximilian" rather than the main story after seeing the username a lot of times. I have since caught up the main story I believe, but I may have to reread to be sure. I also have to read the story of succession (because it's complete and I like complete stories).

@theroyalthornoliachronicles and if we have to go back in time, I would highly suggest Ali's story! Though I can't wait to see modern Thornolian generations? 👀 Also, I'm a reader from after Ali lost her blog and I would say now is the best time to start reading if you're like me and have a massive TBR pile, since we're at chapter one!

OK I think I had most of my currently followed stories. I'm 100% missing people but I will try to reblog more of people's stories so you all can see what I'm reading at the moment!

Round 7 - Summer 2 (Part 2) - The Hansen-Wiggins Family

Back to my BACC for a few rounds! Let's see what occurs in this (very slowly) growing town!

ROS is a simple one for the Hansen-Wiggins family this round - someone needs to buy a new outfit. Simple enough! On we go!

Jennifer decided that she needed a new outfit to suit her more senior role in Politics and her advancing age.

Iris nodded and helped Jennifer to pick out a similar but more mature outfit to suit her.

Back at home, Monique was helping nooboo Elliott to learn how to talk. He wasn't enjoying it.

"...Wh-What?" He looked up, eyes staring at you in confusion, before morphing into what looks like fear at your expression.

You wore a smile, but even a child could tell it was nothing but a fake, even your eyes remained absolutely dead and dark as you stared at him. But the more he stared into them, the more he realized you only held one emotion toward him; Spite.

Chills travelled down his spine as you let out a chuckle, sounding slightly strained, almost as if you were holding back from screaming at him. "You want to know a little secret?... Actually, no, how about I ask you this instead: Do you know how long i've waited for you?... To come back to me?"

He took a step back, but hesitantly reached out for you. Back then, when you were near your breaking point, he would reach out gently caress your face, before you would crash into his arms and began sobbing about whatever was troubling you.

But that was then, this was now.

You slapped his hand away without a second thought, not a single drop of remorse left in you as he flinched at your harshness, you weren't even holding back. "I watched the two of you purposely make out in front for nearly 5 whole fucking years! Do you really think I would be dumb enough to take you back when you had the audacity to act like I didn't exist!?"

"Th-That was different! I-I thought she genuinely loved me— like you did..." His voice trembled, but soon looked away with furious expression. "Until I found her with that motherfucker..."

"That sure sounds familiar, doesn't it?" You sneered, reaping pleasure at the way he trembled at your words that stung deep in his heart. "History has repeated itself, didn't it?"

Now, it was your turn to watch him suffer, as he did with you.

"I know... I left you without a legitimate reason, it was a horrible choice, I just felt stressed and scared that you'll leave me because of colleg—" You're not sure which one made you swing your hand across his face with force strong enough to create a sound that echoed throughout the empty neighbourhood. But you knew the emotion that washed over you at every word he sputtered out; Fury.

Your palms stung, but the hatred towards him burning within you nullified the pain. You glared daggers at the male who nearly fell onto the ground, his face bright red with your hand leaving a visible print, nearly cutting his skin.

The male panted heavily, hunched over with his hand hovering over the red area as he slowly looked at you. He had never seen you so furious before, he once knew you as a kind-hearted angel that could quell his emotions with a touch. Now, you were like a vengeful spirit, out to erase him from existence, just as he did to you.

"That's the lamest excuse i've heard from you, and I heard a shit ton of them already." You spat. "Instead of logically asking for my reassurance when you felt insecure, you decide to go around and sleep with random women who you barely knew while pretending like i'm worth jack shit to you? We've been together for almost 3 years! We were even best friends for 8 years before that!"

Your vouce cracked halfway through, your eyes starting to grow watery, and it wasn't from the rain. "What kind of boyfriend are you!?" You screamed, ignoring the potential of alerting your neighbours, not that you could care anyways.

You let out quiet sobs, your fury gradually turning into pain and tears as memories of how he treated you flooded right back into your head for who knows how many times.

"...I used to love you! I wanted to spend my whole life with you! You told me I was your one and only... I told you that my heart was for no one but you... and you decide to just rip it into pieces instead!" Your skin felt less numb as you felt tears travelling down your cheeks, the cold breeze of the rain brushing against the suddenly sensitive flesh.

His hand, though the pain in his cheek still stinging like hell, took your hand into his once again, as gentle as he could compared to before. "...And I was at fault for that, I deserve to rot in hell for what i've done to you."

You stilled, the heat from his palm all too familiar to you. But at the same time, it was such a foreign feeling that you could barely recall those fuzzy memories. "...I doubt I could make up for everything i've put you through, but please... i'll change myself for you, so that we could be together again. And this time, I swear i'll never treat you like before ever again. I love you, [Name]."

You hesitantly look up into his eyes that were shining with hope and love, waiting for you to accept him back into your life once more and to start over, so that the two of you would never part ever again.

"...I'm sorry, Scaramouche. But I can't."

It hurts you more than it hurts him, just seeing all the hope in his eyes immediately replaced with pain and despair. You looked away with guilt, but you couldn't bear the pain of the past everytime you saw him. And you don't think you ever will.

"I think it'd be better if we see other people. It's for our own good." You added, slipping your hands out from his grasps that shook at the loss of your warmth.

"W-Wait! I promise, I won't treat you like shit, honest to the archons! [Name], please!" He begged, but you had already turned your back towards him.

"I'm sorry, Scara. I really am, but I hope you can find someone that makes you happier than I did before." His pleading went under your deaf ears as you walked back into your house, grabbing the doorknob to close the door. That proved to be a huge mistake on your part.

The male immediately intercepted the door by slipping his foot in, a choked gasp leaving your lips as he grabbed the door and forcefully opened it enough for you to see a pair of deranged indigo eyes glaring back at you. "What the fuck do you mean 'see other people'!? Don't you love me anymore!?"

Using your foot, you tried to shove his leg out while trying to close the door with both hands. "Is it because of what happened before? You selfish bitch, do you think the world revolves around you!? I already said sorry, what more do you want!?"

Your knees buckled, your foot starting to feel numb at ever kick. Your vision began to blur as tears began streaming down, sobs leaving your lips. "G-Get out!"

"Fuck you, damn whore! You'll never find a guy like me to date your ugly ass, you ungrateful cunt!" He continued barking as you continued trying to close the door, his insults stung you, a lot. You almost felt like giving up at that moment, your strength was starting to fail you at every word he spat out at you.

It felt like a decade had passed by, his degrading words thrown at you endlessly to the point his voice began growing hoarse and weak at how fast he spoke.

Even his eyes began tearing up, as if he didn't want to do this, but you had left him no other choice as his emotions caught up to him. Just hearing you call him 'Scara' instead of 'Kuni' made his heart ache.

His voice began wavering just as his strength did, allowing you to sucessfully nudge his foot and hand away from the door. With what little energy you had left in you, you shut the door at his face and scrambled to lock the door while using your body to hold the door close.

You flinched and backed away when the door suddenly pushed you foward with a loud 'thud', the screws in the hinges clicking at his harsh pounding, screaming at you to open the door.

"S-Scara, stop! Please!" You begged, digging around in your pocket, only to realize you had left your phone in your room.

"Then let me in!" He spat back, but fatigue began washing over the both of you and the relentless pounding on your door slowly ceased. A soft thud came from the other side, followed by muffled sobs and quiet cries for your name.

You dragged yourself away, but soon fell onto the ground, your whole body numb as though you were on fire. At last, your tears streamed down your face and onto the ground, the wound in your broken heart left you to suffer at the memories.

"...Scara... Kuni, i'm sorry. I still love you..."

'...I still love you too, [Name].'

But you will never hear those words from him ever again.

Wusel builds a new town part 6: Whiteman Family

It’s probably no surprise that I still can’t make good Sims, so you’ll have to believe me that these two are totally Charles Whiteman and his adopted daugther Esther who made it safely through the Throat and arrived in my BaCC 🙂

I found it hard to come up with good traits and aspirations for them… Charles is adventurous, ambitious and family-oriented. He’s looking for inner piece in life – mostly because I don’t think I’ve ever used that aspiration.

Esther is adventurous, too and wants to master mind and body.

I ran out of money while building their home, but I guess they have more than Alfred and Henry had in the beginning… of course they are living off the grid and simple living is activated.

“Hi, friends – we’re here now, too!”

“Hey, Wusel, Love Day was absolutely awful!”

“What did you expect? You came into my game a few hours before Love Day ended and the only other Sims living here are your daughter and a happily married couple… it will be better next year!”

Food might be more important right now than love anyway…

Thanks for tagging me @niamh-sims and @12raben! I used to play TS1, but have been playing TS2 pretty much since it came out!

What’s your favorite Sims death?

So I've been playing for year and years, but I still haven't seen some of the deaths (like the murphy bed one?). I'm going to go with the satellite-falling-on-Sims death, just because the first time it happened, I was totally unprepared for it, I didn't know it was so risky to have Sims sky-gazing! XD

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Alpha CC all the way.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Nope.

Do you move objects?

Yes, both for building and moving Sims past annoying obstacles.

Favorite Mod?

Recently really loving the trait-related mods, and my community lots couldn't function without the visitor controller.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

It was the complete TS1 set with all the expansions.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Live like aLIVE. But never really stopped to think about it until now.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Probably Madeline Morleigh from my old victorian hood. Love love her cheekbones, I still use that Sim as a base sometimes when making other Sims.

Nope.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?/ Favorite EA hair?

I don't use any Maxis hairs except the bald and the cropped hairstyles

Favorite life stage?

I don't have much of a preference, I'm just not a fan of the infant stage, I frequently age them up to toddlers with some cheats.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Depends on the mood. I sometimes have this grand idea and spend hours decorating, only to arrive at something completely different than what I wanted to execute. But mostly gameplay. Recently I'm also posing and decorating for picture-taking, that's fun too.

Are you a CC creator?

I've tried, only to discover how hard it is! I want to get a little better at it, because I have a lot of ideas, but I'm not skilled enough to execute them yet!

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

Not really. But everyone is super nice, and I love following other simblrs doing BACCs/medieval/historical NHs!

Do you have any sims merch?

No.

Do you have a YouTube for sims?

No.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

As soon as I discovered what CC was all about, I started spending a lot of time hunting down cool stuff. I used to have a fantasy-ish NH, and I even uploaded a few stories on the Exchange a while back (ages ago!)- it was actually pretty formative, because it taught me (very basic) picture editing. After a long break from the Sims, I came back to it and created mostly Victorian-ish NHs, like with my first simblr @janyasims2. Then I got bitten by the medieval CC bug, and I got excited about this new medieval/zombie apocalypse challenge, which I started posting over at @ts2mortalswar. Sadly I lost this save because of computer issues. Now back to medieval-ish content, over at @ts2cambremon, but mostly using the Sims as a way to worldbuild and weave in stories with gameplay. The Sims is such a versatile game, I have taken long breaks from it before, but I keep coming back to it!

How long have you had Simblr?

It was during the covid shutdown! So... April 2020?

How do you edit your pictures?

I try to edit as little as possible because honestly it's not something I enjoy, so I usually just crop pictures, and that's pretty much it. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll add some light gaussian blur and make the colors a little warmer. I usually rely on in-game lighting, especially with colored lights, makes all the difference.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Open for Business! (also the 'fame/hollywood' one for TS1 was amazing, I really wish we could have had something similar for TS2!)

Tag Game for Historical Simblrs!

Thank you so much for tagging me, @sasaofastora and @sims-half-crazy! 3rd time’s the charm- Tumblr has been weird this post twice now!

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

I really liked the Thorpes from the 1900s (Frederick, Sybil, Lydia, etc) and loved their house and the fashion of that time period. I’m looking forward to all the future decades, honestly. I have such great CC for all of them that I’m excited to dress sims in!

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

I think it’s impossible for me to choose, but I will say that @gilded-ghosts Forties Film Noir Collection is my go to for dressing sims currently. It’s amazing!

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

My current favorite sim hasn’t appeared on my Tumblr yet, but her name is June and she’s just so cute and wholesome. 

4. What is your favorite world?

Probably Henford or Windenburg, but most worlds have their merits and work for certain time periods.

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

Definitely gameplay. I don’t really have a “story”. I have a spreadsheet of ideas for each decade, but so far 90% of the time what happens in the game as I play has lead me in a different direction entirely. Maybe those ideas can be recycled for next time!

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

I don’t really play with pets in the game at all. I love animals and I don’t think my own home would feel full without pets, but in the game it feels like the life span is really short and even when I lengthen it I’m still horribly sad when the pets pass. So I avoid it entirely, for the most part.

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

I wish we had the ability to edit the worlds or create our own, so we could leave out some of the background buildings and decor that doesn’t fit the time period and add it as the story progresses.

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

I really like the stove that looks like it would burn wood. There’s also a really cute little silhouette picture thing from Paranormal that’s so perfect for historical builds.

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

This is not a unique answer, but bands. At this point, I’ll even accept it as a kit - just give me drums and a bass guitar, for the love of all that is holy. I can use the club system to create my own band.

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Cottage Living, absolutely. But to give an answer I don’t see often - Strangerville is good for the military outfits and also the world is perfect for a little 1940s/1950s town square vibe.

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

Kuttoe’s Enlist in War mod is so good! I love that it is out of the player’s control who survives and who doesn’t. 

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

Between 4-6 sims is ideal for me. The Thorpes have all had 7. The first three generations each had 5 kids (some unplanned by me) so then I decided to make it a “thing” and have all generations have 5 kids. I’m starting to rethink that now that infants are in the game, but I’ve also kept it going long enough it would feel weird to stop now. 

13. Do you use poses?

I do not. I admire the people who have the patience to use them. It adds depth and realism to their stories. I have such a limited time to play that when I do, I just want to play. And since I’m not really story driven, I don’t have plot beats I need to pose sims for.

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

No, for some reason they make me nervous in a way that other CC doesn’t.

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

I’ve played off the grid when playing a BACC, but not in Decades. I think it limits their cooking too much, and I need them to be baking bread and canning from day one!

16. What lifespan do you play on?

I use MCCC to set a custom lifespan that falls somewhere between normal and long.

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

I first became aware of the Decades Challenge when I stumbled upon a Twitch streamer playing it. The challenge is what finally made me love Sims 4. I started using Tumblr to find CC which lead to me stumbling upon lookbooks of characters which lead to me following those stories…and here we are! I think I’ve been playing the Thorpes for over a year now, and they’re not my first Decades attempt.

Episode 4: The Mayor Problem.

Hmm, the mayor mistaking the ninja for the new ninja?

There we go, the Ninja having to break the law. Crime bois, I feels like they're breaking some of the six core virtues of spinjitzu with this. Speaking of which, I find it kinda funny how with Ninjago core made a big deal out of the six virtues, when we've seen the ninja break them in the past. Kai and Zane lying about the Slug race back in Master of the Mountain comes to mind.

So wait, when the entire ninjago royal family ate it, did that leave the mayor as the top brass position in Ninjago? Also, the confusion over which ninja did what, what colors they were wearing, and the new, new ninja stuff is top tier stuff.

I know the title is suposed to be Ninjago City vs Ninja, but V. Is apparently how they actually do it in court stuff.

Episode 8: Kryptarium Prison Blues

For a long time, I’ve been obsessed with two different challenges: the Build a City Challenge, and the Decades Challenge (any version of it, really). While playing through the Ultimate Decades Challenge, and keeping track of my side households, I thought to myself, “wouldn’t it be fun to do this, but these side households are their own families, and I actually give them more time than just occasionally visiting them, like in a BACC?” And so I came up with this idea. I toyed with it a long time before actually deciding to write up some rules. 

Now, I will be setting up a set of rules, but these will not be strict. If you decide that some part of this challenge doesn’t fit you, please change it for your own gameplay. After all, we’re all here to have fun, aren’t we?

Please be aware before you start: There will be death. That is part of the point of a decades challenge, especially an extended one. There will be death rolls, and there will even be the deaths of young children. If you feel you can handle that, read on.

General Notes to Read Before Continuing -

Unlock achievements are to be used to only unlock one things, just like the regular BACC. For example, if a sim maxes charisma, you can either choose to make that a CAS point, or you may use it to unlock a spot in a career that requires it. Either one, not both.

A lot of the aspects of this challenge will be subject to change, depending on how you choose to begin. I will be writing the rules from the POV of American settlers, but that is not a required start. This can start wherever you want it to - Canada, Japan, Mexico, etc. And the year is also optional - if you want to start in 1890 instead of 1600, to be more like the normal Decades Challenge, that's okay too. Heck, you can even start earlier than 1600!

Mods and custom content aren't necessary but I absolutely recommend using them. In fact, I will be including a list of recommended mods.

Round 3 - Summer 1 (Part 2) - The Neetor Family

ROS for the Neetors states that one of them must study logic and enter a gaming competition. There's nowhere to do that in Wildflats Peninsula as TS2 required more of a LAN party setup for gaming competitions. No one owns a computer yet, as far as I'm aware, so that one won't be happening. But ROS also wants a fire to break out... I am SO glad that Pietro studied Fire Safety because he's now going to be on call when that happens...

Bethany started her round feeling very excited. It had always been her lifetime want to become a top educator and, now that there were children in the town, she was hoping Jennifer would let her become their teacher. She picked up the phone.

"Hi Jennifer! I'm calling to ask if you'll let me become the teacher for Kyle and Ramona's son and Pietro and Lucas' girls. They'll need a teacher now and... wait, what?"

It turned out that Jennifer had already anticipated this situation and had previously employed the miraculous overnight builders to construct a school in Wildflats Peninsula. She had got a grant from SimCity to put towards the education of their youngsters and told Bethany that she could definitely become the town's teacher provided she could stump up the remaining §20,000 to pay the builders.

Bethany quickly and gladly agreed. She had used most of her inheritance lump sum already, but took out a loan and paid the builders for their hard work.

The rest of this post will be a pic dump showing off Wildflats' new school!

It was not my creation - all the hard work was done by @teaaddictyt and she shows this school off on her YouTube channel here (which is where I fell in love with it). She's Australian but I guess their schools are very similar to British schools because it felt very familiar (I'm a primary teacher and it just felt like every school I've ever stepped foot in)!

I had to make a few changes because (although she does acknowledge it's CC-heavy) I didn't realise it would come packaged with all her merged CC files! I had to work out just how much I could safely delete and replace and still keep the 'essence' of the school the same.

Placing the school (which is another community lot) also unlocks 1 more CAS point, bringing the total up to 5. We may have to add a family next round!

Exterior view - the field and basketball courts will be used for Outdoor PE and occasionally for lunchtime play. We have this thing in the UK where, if it's dry enough and the kids won't get muddy, they're allowed to go and play on the big field (most schools have a field). So at lunchtime there will be times when they'll be out here playing rather than the playground.

Classroom 1 - I'm only planning to have one school, rather than a separate primary and secondary, so this will be the kids' classroom. (I know that’s mad in a BACC because it will get big eventually, but at some point I’ll just start rotating days that children come to school!)

Classroom 2 - this will be the teens' classroom. My BACC rules dictate that we can't have a second playable teacher until Bethany reaches the top of the career, a university has been unlocked and our candidate has a degree. That’s a long way off so for the time being, I will probably rotate days as I mentioned above.

Multi-purpose room. It comes shipped as an art room, but can be set up for music, indoor PE, or whatever the day's timetable dictates!

Library (with computer suite at the rear).

Entrance/Office - we won't necessarily have someone on reception but it's here for decoration anyway.

Staff room.

Headteacher's Office.

Canteen - this was an outdoor picnic area in @teaaddictyt's version, but British schools have dining halls where the kids all gather and eat indoors because our weather doesn't suit outdoor dining, so I added this.

Playground - with a covered area for shade in the summer.
