Nerve pain is quite literally a nightmare, I hope you got the surgery and that it helped!

It is, I did, and it did! My microdiscectomy was performed laparoscopically and took less than 2 hours; later that same day, I was taking my first pain-free steps in over a year! I still have some nerve damage, but that pain is nothing compared to before.

#i remember those first pain-free steps because i was immediately flooded with white hot rage where the pain used to be #they could and should have given me the surgery after they saw my first cat scan but instead #i was strung along with epidurals and physical therapy and suggestions to lose some weight to make it easier on my joints #i actually don't remember that period in my life that well because the body only keeps the score to a certain point before it gives up #which is fortunate. everything i do remember sounds like a bad cliche:#distant screaming i suspect was mine. what morning birdsong sounded like on my 6th day without sleep. daytime talkshows on the TV in the ER #anonymous #assbox
