Now to the list! In no real particular order cause I really just drift from thing to thing.
Penny Polendina (RWBY)
I love my quirky little robot girl. She's the absolute best, a brilliant fighter and very emotionally intelligent. She is such a cheerful ideal, someone who tries to see the best in people. She knows when they've gone too far and isn't afraid to stand up for what she wants! Which is the whole core of her little arc. Being a weapon given a soul and all. It is a beautiful story of a little girl who cares so much and wishes to be able to just... be that cheerful little girl without the weight of the world. Its just so sweet.

2. Kafka (Star Rail)
In all honesty she's the reason I'm even playing Star Rail. She is such a mysterious character, with a voice to die for. Yes, Hoyoverse characters tend to be rather shallow (that's a gacha game for ya), but Kafka just hits everything I love in a character. Her character short when she was fully released is... *chef's kiss* just amazing. I will admit, every time she does her ult in game I join her in saying "Boom." ^_^;

3. Lyse (FFXIV)
Shocker, the leading lady of Stormblood is still my favorite? Honestly, all three of the ladies from Stormblood are the trifecta of favorites. (Lyse, Fordola and Yotsuyu) The various storylines that cause them to interact is such a delight. I wasn't too bothered by the whole "Yda was my sister" thing, cause well, Yda was barely in the game post ARR... And like, it was always Yda and Papalymo. Never just one or the other. So when Lyse got the chance to shine and actually take center stage, I was smitten. She's tough, gentle, sassy, collected, brilliant, a bit silly, and more. Such a well written character. I'm still upset she left the scions tbh. Could've added a little hair color diversity by a little bit. :P

4. Gideon Nav (The Locked Tomb)
Ok, seriously, this series grabbed me by the throat and would not let me go. Gideon is such a lovely first viewpoint (and I adore all the viewpoint characters). She takes no shit, talks a lotta shit, and can fight a whole heck more shit. The way she interacts with Harrow at first, then the other Necromancers and their Cavaliers is such a delight. Sure you hate Harrowhark so much Gideon, why are you obeying her command to not speak a single word to literally anyone else, hmmmmmmmmmmm?????? Also the gay panic that Gideon seems to have on the regular is just. Great. I don't want to speak too much more on Gideon, cause this series is just great and you should read it.

5. Raiden Ei (Genshin Impact)
Last time it was Eula, now it is Raiden Ei. It is always a toss up between them, if I'm being honest. Ei is just... such a sad puppy? XD Its the best way to describe her. So trapped in her own past and trying to do what would best preserve her sister's memory... She's just SAD guys. Yeah, she may not be the best governing force for her nation, and she indirectly killed a lotta people with her retreating away and leaving a puppet behind, but we the Traveler showed up and fixed things! Also she gets two amazing boss fights, I honestly wish I could do the story one again but I ain't working through Mondstat and Liyue again. >.>;

6. Karlach (Baldur's Gate 3)
KARLACH IS THE BEST AND SHE IS SO SWEET AND LOVELY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO BACK TO HELL OR DIE OR [redacted]. She is such a lovely goofball that even shows platonic love if you don't romance her and I really think that is great! Her arc tying into Gortash was delightful, bringing her much more into the story instead of just a bystander like a couple of them. (Like out of all the origin companions Astarion barely has any connection to any of the major players in the story, he's pretty self contained tbh.) Her sweetness, the way she says she's gonna eat dirt if you leave her camp, and her cheerful demeanor are just.... Amazing. I'm really running out of words for Karlach cause she is my favorite. I'm gonna have to start BG3 up again and actually play my romance run of her soon.

7. The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Ok, a bit of a cop out since, you know, they are the star of the show. BUT COME ON. The Doctor in their various iterations have been so enjoyable. My personal favorite is Tennet's 10, but Capaldi's 12 is a strong second. Its just a good show to binge at times. There are a lottta good episodes, a few really bad ones, but overall its a good time. The scene at the end of the special where they rescue Gallifrey is still one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise. And hell, the Archeologist is based (loosely) on them, so how can I not include them?

8. Xion (Kingdom Hearts)
Have I mentioned I love tragic characters? Xion is literally the definition of tragedy, with all the problems with her just existing lol. Her presence in 358/2 Days really made the game for me. Roxas was kinda bland and having someone that was similar in age (like Sora, Riku and Kairi were) to interact with made it all that much better. AND SHE GETS THE HAPPY ENDING. Eventually. Boy is it a long road, but that's Kingdom Hearts for ya.

8. Lucina (Fire Emblem)
I really wanna pick someone else in all honesty, but Fire Emblem has a worse problem than Hoyoverse games in their bit characters. :/ Lucina is a strong character that really delighted me when I played Awakening. She's such a surprise that it really helps make that Fire Emblem my favorite. She's got a good supporting cast too, with Robin and her dad Chrom, but Awakening was really her game. Chrom was kinda there just to be her dad lol

9. Trevor Belmont (Castlevania)
Full disclosure, I have not played his game, in fact the only two castlevania's I have played both feature non Belmont's as the lead players (Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclasia). But the way Trevor is in the show, OH BOY. He is rough, he is blunt, he is smart, he is SOOOO dumb, he is loyal, he is a fighter, he never gives up, HE IS JUST GREAT. He's also one of my biggest Bi panics when he shows how much of a badass he is in episode, I think, 4 or 5 or later? Its been a hot minute since I watched that series. When he first uses the flail weapon that I forget the name of.

10. Aigis (Persona)
Aigis is a super cutie and I love her interactions with the female protagonist. I really wish P3 wasn't such a long game and Aigis actually showed up a little earlier. She's just a doll! I do need to try and find a copy (or emulate) FES to play the storyline with her as the lead singer. Its just so rough to get thru P3 I just lose motivation. T.T I've made it to the vacation part with the female lead, like, three times and no further cause my motivation tanks. WHICH IS WEIRD CAUSE THAT'S WHEN YOU MEET AIGIS. Its just too long for me I guess. XD

The emotionless red eye and the refreshing smile that seems to have no meaning have not changed at all.

Akatsuki: "There's a girl in Rhodolite who loves books. A girl who is kind and compassionate to everyone…"
Akatsuki: "What books does she usually read, what kind of things does she like, what happened to her the other day…"
Akatsuki: "The more I talked about you, the more interested Gilbert became."
Akatsuki: "The story of a kind-hearted girl from a foreign country must have been a kind of entertainment for him."
Akatsuki: "I also ended up saying that this was something I was not involved in." **
Akatsuki: "I never thought this would happen…"
The owner, with his head in his hands, seemed to seriously regret his decision.

Silvio: "Such as?"
Gilbert: "There's a bakery near her house, run by an elderly couple. She likes their sandwiches."

Gilbert: "One time, she read from morning till evening, and she caught a bad cold."
Gilbert: "At the time, everyone in town was worried. It seems there was a bit of a commotion."

A sigh of relief is breathed as the identity of the unseen horror is unexpectedly revealed.
Luke: "… Hey. Why is he so interested in the story of a common woman?"
Akatsuki: "I don't know. I've never asked why..." // "I don't know. I never heard the reason…"
Akatsuki: "Perhaps it was because of the resemblance."
Rio: "Of who?"
Akatsuki: "Emma."
Emma: "I'm like Prince Gilbert…?" // "Prince Gilbert is like me…?"
Luke: "No way."
Rio: "That's not true!"
Cyril: "Uh… certainly."
(Hm?)
Mixed in with Luke and Rio, who shake their heads in dismissal of the joke, I hear only one affirmative voice.
Everyone's eyes were on Cyril.
Cyril: "… Well, to be precise, it was "similar," wasn't it?"
Cyril: "You see, young lady, you are the kind of person who looks out for others and not yourself, aren't you?"
Cyril: "You protected Prince Gilbert from the deadly blade during the soiree... That's how it is."
Akatsuki: "Oh, yes. He's a different man now, but he was once a man with a beautiful heart."
Akatsuki: "... To the point of being very dangerous."

Emma: "… Is it a national secret?"
Akatsuki: "It's not like that, but if you know, you'll end up becoming a traitor to the country of roses."
Emma: "Eh…"
Rio: "… What do you mean?"
(Traitor... that can't be right.)
(I love Rhodolite, and I know all about it.)
But for some reason, his expression becomes tense.
It was as if I had something to be guilty of, even though I had no idea what it was.
The owner seemed to have noticed the subtleties of the situation.
Akatsuki: "Emma… don't feel sympathy for Gilbert. Don't empathize."
Akatsuki: "The kind-hearted young man is gone. The current Gilbert is now a "Trampling Beast".
The owner reaches for a stained tag that was on the table.
Akatsuki: "... It is easy to dye white to black. But it is difficult to dye black to white."
Akatsuki: "To sympathize with him means that you will be dyed black."
(… Owner…)

Rant of the week: RWBY
Ah yes, I was waiting for this one. If you ever wondered what really grinds my gears and what kind of shape my ideal fictional world would have, well you're in luck. Because RWBY is the one show that probably comes the closest to that.
I remember when my then-best friend showed me this animated show and told me she loved it. Back then only 3 seasons were out and the show looked like it had a budget of around 7 $.
Yet I still fell in love with it. The perfect synergy of building characters, story, comedy, and voice acting made this my all-time favorite.
Season 9 finished a few months ago and I still had the exact same amount of fun watching as I did over 7 years ago.
So put on your seatbelts and let's dive into the world of remnant!
RWBY takes place in a world that is probably the most comparable to My Hero Academia but much darker.
The story revolves mostly around our four main characters: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long.
All of them have the same goal: They want to become Huntresses.
On remnant there are creatures to be found that are lured by negative emotions and death. They torture the human race and it seems like they have only one goal: destruction. These are called: the creatures of Grimm.
Hunters and Huntresses are the ones whose primary focus is protecting the human race from these monsters. Usually, they are assigned into teams of four where the letters of their names combined make out their team name.
In the world of remnant, every person also has a special kind of natural ability called a semblance. Naturally, Hunters and Huntresses make good use of them in combat.
The story starts off by introducing us to all these characters in a very unique way and then proceeds to show us their school life.
Along come several hardships.
Ruby struggles to be a team leader because she is the youngest and thinks she doesn't have what it takes.
Weiss comes from a rich family, can't stand Ruby at all and it's abundantly clear that she isn't good at working in a team.
Blake is very quiet and seems to have a dark past that she doesn't want to talk about. On top of that: she is a Faunus. Magical creatures that are basically humans with animal traits. Therefore they are different from humans and of course, that means... they face discrimination.
Yang is Ruby's older sister and tries her best to support her and become friends with the rest of the team. She is the one that mostly contributes to comedy but has a knack for letting her emotions get the better of her. Also: she seems to develop a certain attachment to Blake
I could go on but it would make this post waaay too long if I did and would also spoil stuff for people who might wanna watch it.
Besides team RWBY there is another team that plays a major role in team JNPR which contains my favorite character which is why I mention it xD but saying more about that certain character would probably lead to spoilers. People who know the show can probably guess who it is:
Pyrrha Nikos. The rising star of Beacon Academy. Everyone seems to think she is the best of the best and put her on a pedestal, whereas in reality she just wants to be seen as a normal person... yet almost nobody seems to treat her normally... almost.
I don't think I wanna make the post much longer so let's go to the question we've been waiting for:
What makes RWBY so great?
This is gonna sound a bit anticlimactic but I honestly don't really know what fascinates me so much about this show.
I always watched it and there was never a single thing, a single plot hole, or bad character development that bothered me.
The show is not perfect by any means and there is quite a lot of drama around the producing company Rooster Teeth with them not treating their employees right...
On top of that after 2015 the show took a drastic turn which is very much noticeable because the original creator Monty Oum died.
Despite all of this I love RWBY with all of my heart. The introduction of the characters. The unique world-building. The simple yet effective design of the story. It's just nothing you'd ever see in any anime. There was never a major necessity of explaining lore to the viewer until Volume 6.
The voice acting is sometimes a bit weird in the beginning but usually still very decent which is amazing considering Monty Out just picked up Kara Eberle (voice of Weiss) from a receptionist's position (hilarious trivia xD).
But he knew what he was doing and it really showed.
I can only recommend watching it for yourself. You will find most of it on Rooster Teeths website except for Volume 9 which is only on Crunchyroll.
The first couple of episodes are also very short but effective.
If you love fantasy and shows with characters with special powers... *cough* and girl-bosses *cough* this is the show for you xD
Hm... I always feel like I'm missing a few things in these posts. I don't even know if I describe the series optimally so I'm a bit unsure about these extremely long posts.

Ruby or Mulan, Maleficent or Cruella, Dragon Queen or Outlaw Queen, Shadow Queen or Regina x Kathryn?
Gaaah! Thank you for the questions! These are challenging, for sure!
Ruby. But it's close! The werewolf thing wins it for me, and also because she was in Season One. I have a lot of Season 1 feelings. And also her friendship with Snow! And "Red-Handed" being one of my favorite episodes. She's a great and tragic character who does her best to help others no matter what she's going through herself.
I do love Mulan a lot, though. I may be in love with both Red and Mulan. Oops! I just wish we'd gotten more of Mulan. I loved her dynamics with every character she interacted with. She's such a badass. Mulan x Aurora x Phillip is one of my favorite ships in the show, and I also wouldn't have said no to Mulan and Ruby ending up together. Mulan deserved better.
Cruella. I agree with you about having a lot of room to explore with Maleficent, as she could have done with a bit more development in the show. I'd have at least loved to have seen more of her relationship with Lily. She was an adorable mom in the one episode we got to see them interact. But Cruella makes me laugh out loud. She has some of the best lines. "Sympathy for the De Vil" is one of my favorite, most unique episodes. She just wants to murder people! Let her have her happy ending, Isaac! xD. I don't know, she's just so fun, but I do still really enjoy Maleficent. I wish they'd explained what the heck happened with her and Aurora's parents. I like to believe she was in love with Briar Rose, and it went terribly wrong.
Definitely Dragon Queen. I've just been having a discussion on a different website about how Robin Hood was possibly evil the whole time. Looking at the evidence, his words don't match up with his actions. If he wants to steal from the rich, why date Regina? His code says he can't divorce his wife, but he'll… let her die instead? In the book, there is a page which shows that when he met Marian, he planned to kidnap her for ransom, yet he tells Will that he tried to steal her horse, didn't because she was poor, and from that day forward, he chose to steal only from the rich and give to the poor. Yet, in "Heart of Gold," we see that he only decides to steal from the rich and give to the poor long after he and Marian are a couple. Not to mention he shot at Regina without hesitation when looking for the Wicked Witch and, knowing at the time that the Wicked Witch had bright red hair, hid in the bushes and aimed his arrow at the back of a clearly dark-haired Regina's head for a good while before making his presence known. It's just a theory, but I do wonder if he had a plot for revenge against her all along, at least at first. I think that would have made him a much more interesting character. Otherwise, I struggle to make sense of why Regina, post formation of the Evil Queen, would want to be with someone like him. She kinda had to change her personality during their interactions just to make it make a little sense. It's just not for me. But power to those who like it, and I may adopt the revenge plot theory as headcanon, which might make me more invested in them.
Dragon Queen, on the other hand, has to be canon, right? I mean, the intensity of the moments when their noses almost touch. I think they should have kissed. There is so much blatant subtext there, and it's so wonderfully gay. Okay, so Regina rode home on a dragon. Okay, girl, I see you. "Are you a bad girl, Regina?" "The worst." I mean, come on! Everything that comes out of their mouths when they interact just screams "we are exes who can't stop flirting with each other." I love it! I wish it was more explicit!
Okay, this last one is really freaking hard. I do love both almost equally, but I've been thinking a lot about Regina x Kathryn lately and their potential, and I just wanna go back to season 1 and make them fall in love. I want the angst post-season 1. I need it! I honestly would have been ecstatic if Regina had ended up with either of them. And it's totally cool that she ended up single at the end. That was a nice way to demonstrate that happy endings/beginnings don't have to involve romantic love. But goddamn, I wish Facilier didn't die. I know love triangles aren't popular, but heck, if they'd brought Facilier in earlier and had a Kathryn/Regina/Facilier love triangle, I would have been very happy. Idk, I love both pairings, but the Kathryn x Regina friends-to-lovers gets me. And we could have gotten so much more Kathryn. *Cries forever*.

Thoughts on volume 9 finale for RWBY
So, I felt like the final fight against the Curious Cat at the end was a little too short, but for what we got, it was a damn good fight. As soon as I heard the melody from Red like Roses, I screamed. And seeing Ruby get back into her groove and kick some ass was so satisfying. And it was so cool seeing Team RWBY fully fight together again, that was some good animation.
We got a little more into what happened to Summer! I’m hoping we’ll get the rest soon, I’m intrigued that she knew she was going somewhere dangerous and that Raven was involved.
It was interesting to hear that the Brothers Grimm actually came from the Ever After first, then left to create Remnant. I wonder if this will be brought up again, ‘cause I feel like a confrontation with them at the end of the show is inevitable.
I actually did not expect Neo to live, but I’m glad she decided to stay and find herself. I wonder if we’ll ever see her again.
Hearing Jaune’s voice when he got young again was so jarring, I almost forgot it sounded that high pitched. XD
Overall, even if I felt like the ending was a little less climatic than I wanted, I still really, really like this season. Season 3 is still my favorite, but I say this is my second or third favorite (might have to rewatch season 6 before I make a final call on that). I can see why this volume took longer to make, there was a lot going on, but I do think it was well worth the wait. Now I just hope season 10 can get greenlit.

*deep breathes* would you care for some long overdue Dragon AU Smarty-Pop tidbits before I go into work?
(I must point out; I have yet to find a medival name for Poppy XD if my sources are correct, poppies symbolized blood drawn in wars back then, so I don't think her parents would want to name their daughter after that. I'm thinking maybe she could be named Flora? But for now, I'm just gonna refer to her as Poppy)
- When Smartaz started to like Poppy more, he gave her one of the few rooms in the castle that was still in tact (after they took over this place, the dragons had 'renovated' most of the castle to suit their needs, so this really was a rare commodity in their place). Before, Poppy just slept... Wherever really, usually near one of the dragons to ensure she didn't escape. But now she can enjoy her privacy ^^
- Not a headcannon necessarily, more like a scenario. When he trusted her enough not to try to run, he brought her to the abandoned village right outside the castle. It was overrun with nature, but Poppy loved it. And this was in the middle of spring. So you know what that means; flower crowns.
Smartaz: *eyeing the huge circle of flowers in Poppy's hands confusedly* What's dat supposed t'be?
Poppy: A flower crown. Spending time in the castle gardens back home was one of my favorite pastimes. I've learned a few things about the flora of our world.
Smartaz: ... Awright, but that doesn't tell me why it's so big.
Poppy: *stands up, showing off the completed crown* Bevause it is for you ^^
Smartaz: What?? You ain't putting dat thing on me!
Poppy: *tilts her head to the side* Why not? Are you allergic?
Smartaz: Wha- No! Why- Why do you wanna put flowers on a dragon???
Poppy: *smile falls, looks down to the crown she worked hard on* ... I just thought... I wanted to show you something I liked...
Smartaz: ...
Smartaz: *huffs through his nose before lowering his head down for her* Awright. Don't expect this t'be a common occurrence though.
Poppy: *smiles softly before placing the crown carefully on his head* Thank you... I think it looks good on you.
Smartaz: *scoffs* They're just gonna die, ya'know. They're gonna wilt away. Might even fall off when I fly 'ya back.
Poppy: *looks deep into his eyes* I know. They may not last like silver and gold. But that is all the more reason to treasure them while you still can.
Smartaz: ... *definitely not thinking about applying that advice to the princess right now*
- When they get together, Smartaz wanted to adorn her in jewelry from his own horde. Both to show others that she's a part of his treasure now, and show her that he trusts and loves her enough to share with her.
- Poppy isn't as fond of jewelry as he is, but she does this for him because she loves him and knows this is important to him. But her most favorite piece of jewelry he's given her that she refuses to take off now is a ruby encrusted bracelet, that matches his ruby ring. This is their equivalent of wedding rings.
- Speaking of Smartaz' treasure; instead of being a seamstress who can mend his suit in this AU, I'm thinking Poppy volunteers to help keep his jewelry clean and sparkling. She can probably clean them more efficiently than he can, being able to see and reach the little details better than him. She knows he doesn't expect her to, but she wants to do it for him ^^
- When Poppy was first taken, she at first kept her wedding ring from Ben on (a small part of her that she was ashamed of was disappointed that the dragons didn't take it). Not because she wanted to, but because she felt like she had to be loyal to a marriage she had no say in. But when she and Smartaz got together, he chose to keep the ring. Just so he could snidely give it back to Ben when he finally came for Poppy and tell her that she wasn't his anymore.
- Poppy is the only human he let's ride on his back. Smartaz will have one of the others carry any human prisoners or just drag them by the teeth or claws himself. It's partly a 'I'm the leader, I don't have to do that work' sort of thing, and partly because he's trying to establish dominance as the smallest dragon. But for Poppy, he's willing to lower himself and let her climb on his back before taking off with her. After making sure she's secure and won't fall off, of course.
- Now that she's with him, Poppy is also around when they come back from raides and gets to see any prisoners they may bring back. Poppy is the one who tries to encourage Smartaz to be more merciful and will treat the prisoners kindly despite his annoyance at that. Unfortunately, this has led to some desperate prisoners trying to take advantage of that and use Poppy to escape. Whether that be them trying to threaten Smartaz her life for their freedom, or manipulate her... I don't think he'd react kindly to that at all.
This is all I can think of right now XD I hope you like these! ^^
//*puts on Kitty's psychology cap* I think what we are dealing with here is an example of Lima Syndrome. The opposite of Stockholm Syndrome, this is when the captor starts falling in love with their prisoner and grapples with wanting to let them go free. And in some cases does.
Also Smartaz being the only dragon who lets Poppy ride on his back in the cutest thing I'm imagining the most sour-faced dragon with beady golden eyes carrying this fragile, white clad maiden around with him and she's soft-faced and innocent and kindly and he's just seething with rage all while expressing a totally tender gesture 😆😊
Also oooff the medieval level of loyalty to her husband even though he's a shit 😓 She deserves a knight...or a dragon!
I love mean-looking dragons wearing flower crowns. I think she tugged his blackened heart with that last sentence! 🥲 (and it tugged mine too Omg I love sentiments like that! 😩)

Heyya!
There are some things I want to write (specifically: another Field Museum field trip (featuring stuff I got to see on member’s night) and CG headcanons for Father from the show “Raised By Wolves” - he’s such a freaking good dad!) but I’m probably not gonna get those written until at least June. (I work in a school and I’ve got some end-of-year burnout keeping me from writing.)
But I’ve been feeling smallish, so I thought maybe I’d rave about some of my favorite childhood movies (in no particular order). :)
A Troll in Central Park I swear, every single time we went to Blockbuster, I wanted to rent this movie. I just adored it, and I really still do. It just makes me really happy.
Lady and the Tramp This is one of my favorite Disney movies. It’s so pretty, and I love the characters.
Cats (1998) Is it a “kids movie”? No. Did I understand the plot? Barely. But by gosh, I’d put on a leotard and paint whiskers on my face, and I would dance around the living room like I’d been raised to play one of the characters. 😸
The Rescuers Down Under I actually wasn’t allowed to watch this for most of my childhood because my mom felt like the bad guy was “too evil” - she tried to be careful about the things me and my siblings watched when we were really young. (Although, kinda funny, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” was never restricted. 🤣) But I was able to watch it a few times, and I really liked it.
The Prince of Egypt The MUSIC! My gosh, even when I was too young to really appreciate the visuals, I knew the music was great.
The Muppet Christmas Carol We still watch this movie every Christmas. One year my dad was on the phone with my grandparents while we were watching, and he couldn’t stop laughing at “Jacob and Robert Marley”.
Pollyanna I don’t really know WHY I loved this movie so much - it’s so dialog-heavy and I had (and still kind of have) a pretty short attention span. Still, basically every time I was at my grandparents house I wanted to watch their copy of it.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks I guess some people say this movie was a “Mary Poppins” knockoff? Honestly, as much as I do enjoy “Mary Poppins”, I personally like this more. Maybe ‘cause I like witches.
Kiki’s Delivery Service (1997 English Dub) The characters! The story! The music! AAAAHHH! This is still one of my all-time favorite movies, and it bums me out so much that the 97’ version is so hard to find. (I may or may not have found it online and saved it to my computer so I’ll always have it. XD) I still have the VHS copy I got for Christmas when I was really little.
Homeward Bound & Homeward Bound 2: Lost in San Francisco Everytime I hear the theme music I feel giddy. I like the first one a little more, but they’re both such nice, feel-good movies.
The Lion King 2 - Simba’s Pride … I like this movie more than the first one. 😱😂 The original “Lion King” is great, but I just alway liked this one more. The colors, the songs, the characters (good gosh, Zira is one of my favorite villains ever, don’t even get me started). It’s just really good!
Oliver and Company As a kid this was probably one of my top five Disney movies. It’s not quite so high on the list now, but I still really love it.
Hap Palmer’s Baby Songs This is technically a series and not a “movie”, but this is my list so I’m gonna count it. 😆 They’re mostly original songs, they’re super catchy, and the accompanying videos are a lot of fun. Most of the songs are on Hap Palmer’s YouTube channel; I highly recommend checking it out. (Also: I did not grow up watching “Turn on the Music”, but it’s also really good.)
The Ruby Princess Runs Away This movie is available on YouTube, but please tell me if you ever saw it as a kid - none of my friends had and I couldn’t believe it. This was one of my favorite movies and I watched it so much I can still recite segments of it; a few years ago my sister picked a random scene, played a few seconds, and I gave her the next lines of dialogue. That’s how wild I was about it. 🤣 It’s honestly not a great movie, pretty average and without much of a budget, but I still love it.

Favorite Male Character: Hooty. As Eda herself put it, he may have been a thorn in my side, but he eventually dug his way into my heart :D
Favorite Female Character: Luz. Adorable, earnest, optimistic, dorky, badass and utterly feral when shit hits the fan. After all the gushing I've done on one Ruby Rose, I feel like this choice should be pretty obvious XD
Least Favorite Character: This is probably going to get me some flack, but at the moment I'm gonna have to go with Hunter. To be clear, I don't outright hate him, its just at this point he's just a bit insufferable in the typical 'bad boy antagonist with angsty backstory' role. Sure, I actively hate someone like Kikimora, but she's FUN to hate. I get the feeling the team is going to do something more interesting with Hunter at some point down the line, but for the moment I'm just hoping for an Eclipse Lake rematch where Amity gets to kick his ass.
Favorite Friendship: Might be stretching the definition a bit, but Eda being Luz's new mom is always going to be amazing and adorable.
Favorite Quote: "Look kid, everyone wants to beleive their 'chosen', but if we all waited around for a prophesy to make us special, we'd die waiting. That's why you need to choose yourself." Though I must give an honorable mention to "Then how pathetic are you when you can't best me at my worst!" for being raw as fuck.
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: A bit predictable perhaps, but the Lumity Grom dance.
Saddest Moment: The ending of Agony of a Witch. Still hits like a truck.
Favorite Location: I mean, isn't if obvious? They named the goddamn show after it :D

I- the gnome is Neon I take no criticism. They are often good-natured souls with a more mischievous side, and if that doesn’t describe Neon I’m not sure what does. Playful, funny, good intentions, that my good Bean is our lovable cat personified. Okay Parhelion dnd au with gnome Neon please /j.
I AM SMACKING THE GUN OUT OF YOUR HANDS [runs into a glass wall] dammit,, guess I gotta talk now
I- oh no,, time to fail the exam I guess (turns all your head canons upside down)
Okay they do sleep yes they do. Actually that’s a lie only Ciel sleeps, the other two are insomniacs. Ciel has all of her day to day life planned out to the minute, so she heads to bed at a certain time and wakes up at a certain time, the other two are more of a “we’ll sleep when we’re tired” kinda duo. Unfortunately due to Ilia’s night terrors and Neon’s ADHD they almost never rest. No they do not sleep in a SANE bed, ha why would they have a bed? They sleep in a hammock all tangled up with each other. It’s hard to tell what order they sleep in when they kinda curl into each other. They do not use a duvet, why have a duvet when Neon is a space heater? There are no pillows on the hammock X). OKAY THEIR ROOM, THIS I GOT, it’s a funky mess that is somehow organized thanks to Ciel. Ilia doesn’t own a lot in general but it was her life’s dream to paint her bedroom rainbow so guess what they have now. The other two are too soft and they supported her efforts and they love her despite her poor design sense XD.
I- why closet ASDFG I mean— No they do not share a closet they all have completely different fashion sense and if that was all in one place people would be genuinely terrified. But since they’re broke they had to make do with one walk in closet that they partitioned off into sections. YES THEY DO HAVE MATCHING OUTFITS THEY ARE SO CUTE LIKE THAT. They tend to be like those cute couple outfits with a few variations to match their own personal style. But their favorite matching outfit are these duck hoodies they own courtesy of once again Ilia living out her childhood dreams. No they don’t own many outfits because like I mentioned earlier they are broke x). Hmm thinking about each other’s styles… Ilia think both of her girlfriends have great taste, she loves the well, neon of Neon, and the prim and properness of Ciel. Neon just doesn’t care XD. And Ciel is just, she’s just standing there wishing she could help their fashion sense, but she holds back because “It does suit them in an odd way.” Ciel gets the most compliments on her style hands down, she looks organized and you can bet she saves money to buy outfits that actually accentuate her cuteness. They don’t wear makeup no time for that (in which you learn Z has little to no knowledge in how to apply makeup and doesn’t know how to answer that question)
OH OKAY I LOVE VIDDY GAMES. Ciel likes real-time strategy games because she’s insane and that’s literally all she knows in life thanks to being raised in an upper class family in Atlas. Neon likes open world games, something something she likes the chance for adventure and determining one’s fate for themself. Ilia has never once played a video game until after she defected from the White Fang but I can see her playing something light like Stardew Valley, low stakes kinda games. Hmm, they might play Animal Crossing together? Since it has aspects they all enjoy. They each have an individual switch (Ilia has a coral switch lite) and one shared PC. Okay game with most hours, maybe Minecraft? They still haven’t beat the enderdragon because Neon keeps getting distracted XD. Neon is the bomb at party games though, you can bet she has a perfect score on all the songs in Just Dance. Ciel is a sharpshooter, god knows who taught her how to shoot like that. The biggest splatoon fan is unfortunately not Neon it is Ilia, she loves all the colors in the game ^^. But she and Neon have wracked up quite a few hours in co-op.
Uhhh books!! Ilia likes fanfics :) it’s unfortunately one of the only ways for her to see positive representation of herself. Neon for some reason reads Epics?? Like her favorite is the Epic of Gilgamesh what is up with that?? Ciel reads webtoons :), she reads enough serious stuff for school work and such, she likes to just kick back and relax after all that. Yes they have schedules reading time courtesy of Ciel :). Uhh, they relax by baking together. None of them had many chances to indulge in sweets while growing up so they make full use of their time now. ?? SPOON?? Cuddle hours happen on a whim, the one thing that Ciel can never schedule because she never knows when it’ll occur. They relax the most in the kitchen x) because that’s where they bake, it’s not unusual to find Neon asleep on the counter while she waits for their sweets to rise. They read in the light, Neon is afraid that by reading in the dark that they’ll all ruin their eyesight. Ciel likes the sunrise because she’s up the earliest and is the only one to see it, the other two prefer sunset because that’s usually when their day is about to begin XD.
Favorite spot for dates! The park ^^, they like to go on picnic dates with all their baked goods. There is no plan, usually one of them will randomly pull the other two out of the house because they haven’t touched grass in a while XD. There are no ideas, they share one braincell and they spend too much time doting on each other to use it. Uhm favorite movie genre,,, they like comedy movies :). Their favorite place to eat is this tiny store on the corner of their street that makes mean gyros, they heccin’ love them. Coping with horror, Ilia is desensitized to horror because of the things she’s seen in life, Neon treats it like a game because she knows it’s not real, Ciel, is okay with it, but she gets shook more easily than the other two and they often have to reassure her. No they do not like theme parks, there are too many people around for Ilia and Ciel and Neon respects their boundaries so they tend to go to more quiet places. Uhm heights, Ciel is used to heights because she’s friends with Penny and woah can that girl toss her in the air like she’s a couple of grapes. Ilia doesn’t mind heights but she would prefer to have her feet on the ground. Neon loves the ground so damn much if it leaves her she will cry because man she can’t roller-skate in the air can she, what will she do if the ground is suddenly gone? They like evening dates because it’s normally the only time all three of them are awake enough for it XD. They end a night by sleeping I am not quite sure if there are other ways to end it lmao. They absolutely despise Neon’s roller skating dates but they love how excited she gets about them so they end up becoming as good as professional roller skaters because the smile on Neon’s face when they join her is dazzling.
I am slowly going insane. Yes each girl has a hobby I sure hope they do. Ilia knits, Ciel paints, and Neon writes. I would like to imagine that Ciel would try to schedule time for their hobbies she ends up giving up because all their sleep schedules are wack. Designated chef is Neon (probably made food for FNKI back in atlas), designated driver is Ilia (I mean I like to imagine she stole cars and stuff in the White Fang XD), designated decorator for stuff is normally Ciel though Neon does try to hijack a few of her plans occasionally, designated shopper is Ciel because the other two have no concept of Saving money, and they all work together to clean :). They don’t work together, they believe in keeping their work life and home life separate to prevent their feelings from getting in the way. They do not have pets, none of them have the energy or responsibility to do that, but Ilia did once bring a moose home one day for some reason.
I am nomming on your arm sir. Ilia and Neon get along with Penny surprisingly well, though I do think Ilia would get along with Weiss better? Ruby and Weiss look at Ciel and see a beacon arc Weiss and more or less adopt her despite Ciel being older than the two of them. They might like.. play board games together? Like some of those more team based board games I can’t think of anything off the top of my head, may the best polycule win. I cannot see them in a cuddle puddle to be honest ajcnjsanjs I am so sorry— hmm Ruby and Neon do not know the meaning of formal, as far as they are concerned these are their girlfriend’s friends and that means that by extension these are their friends. Weiss would like nothing to do with Neon after Neon insults Yang during the Vytal festival but she begrudgingly goes on outings with her and hey, now they’re make up buddies for some reason. The parhelion gals take the fs gals to the gyro place they like :). Parhelion gang Is a lot more vocal on their dates because their love language happens to be words of affirmation while the fs gang’s happen to be physical touch. Both polycules are very very affectionate though I will die on this hill.

(Parhelion angst! How do Neon and Ciel react to the news about the dust mine? How do they find out about Ilia getting expelled? Do they find out about the white fang? Is there any faunus stigma afterwards? How does Ciel react to people bullying her Faunus GFS? Does Neon talk to Ciel much after? Do they ever reunite? Does Neon attempt to help Ciel while she grieves Penny? Where the fuck is Ciel now? Is Neon still alive? Does Ilia ever think about them? Does Blake know about them from Ilia?)
BUDDY I CAME TO THE LAST ASK AND NOW ONLY DID I REALIZE YOU MEANT PARHELION BACK WHEN THEY WHERE IN BEACON THIS WHOLE TIME I’M CRYING. (This ask is answered under the assumption that they are already dating back in Atlas Academy) Ciel is fiercely protective of her girlfriends, though people only know that Neon is a Faunus because Ilia masks her traits during her time at the academy. Neon and Ciel are horrified about the news about the dust mines. They know that Ilia is a Faunus and that her parents were working there so they rush to see her as soon as possible. But they’re too late,,, Ilia’s already been expelled for attacking her fellow students. They don’t hear from Ilia for a few years after that and the two slowly drift apart, each blaming the other for not getting to Ilia soon enough. They don’t find out about the White Fang until they reunite with Ilia unfortunately, but they feel sad that Ilia had felt that they only way for her to get revenge for her parents was by joining a militant group (I’m working under the assumption that Sienna only took control of the White Fang shortly before Ilia joined). When Neon learns that Penny didn’t make it after the Fall of Beacon she hesitantly reaches out to Ciel for the first time in a year, and she does try to help. But for Ciel it’s blow after heccin’ blow and she pushes Neon away in a rage. Ciel leaves the Academy after that and goes rogue, working as a huntsman without a license for the poorer parts of remnant. Ilia is unaware of all this drama during the Beacon arc. The next time she hears of any news is during the Fall of Atlas, and she’s scared, scared because she’s still recovering and she just heard Ruby announce to the world that Remnant is under attack, and oh my gosh her ex girlfriends live in Atlas. Neon makes it out alive, though not entirely in one piece, she now has a prosthetic leg. Ilia is the first person to see her, it’s a tearful reunion and they haven’t fully made up yet, but hey it’s a work in progress, now they just have to find out where Ciel is, but when they do they’ll BOTH be there to greet her. Blake has no idea who the fuck Ciel and Neon are lmao, Ilia never told her anything about her past romances when she was in the White Fang.

8/10 unpopular opinion, i actually like this dress! I know it doesn’t really fit her charcter as i and others have said in the past. BUT if this were some sort of formal dress rather than an everyday one, I would give it 10/10.

The two new chapters were fantastic.
When she accidentally set alight to a house she did not actually mean to burn, she admitted to herself she needed to find Ruby and ask for her money back.
Hehe, accidental arson, we've all been there before. My pants have caught fire three times in the past two months, though twice it wasn't my fault.
Cinder had fled. She did not look at Jaune. She did not need to.
I have to say, I feel a bit bad for Jaune. He got to spend a - wonderful- night with her, but then got to spend a month probably thinking he'd never be with her again... and seemingly would've been right had she not gotten pregnant. Thank whatever power Is in charge of story creation that she did :) - and that she didn't have to spend the rest of her life thinking she didn't deserve love.
But she comes back and of COURSE Jaune Is the best not-a-husband-yet EVER.

What a weird way of spelling 'amazing cinnamon roll of a man', Cinder XD
The different parts of my brain leading up to the pregnancy reveal:
She was a murderer, and monsters like her had no family and came to no name, and were always hungry, wanting more than she deserved, never happy with what was given.
Still she wished that what he said that night meant he wanted to keep her, but she knew better.
They met as enemies. He may have desired her, but he did not love her. Love was not reserved for her.
It's times like these where I thank my lucky stars that you write happy endings. Because boy, I just KNOW you could break my heart with your stories if you tried. Admittedly my tears flow pretty easily when I'm reading, but still - your fics really are great at eliciting emotional responses. And with much less whiplash than my beloved jily fics, so thank you for that.
And of course, a staple of your fics, some sweet sweet carrying - not bridal this time but It still counts since she's his bride-to-be. And some Thirsty Cinder to go along with it XD, you get that ass, girl.
And the bath scene. THE BATH SCENE. I'd forgotten how good non-sexual intimacy could be. Well, non-sexual for Jaune... Cinder Is a different story altogether.
Absolutely melted my heart with that scene. Cinder being cared for as she should have been in the first place? The best.
She relented, “Why are you sulking,” with no rising tone.
I WONDER, CINDER. I WONDER WHY.

I swear at one point Im just going to faint from all the blood you make rush to my head. I couldn't find an appropriate GIF but rest assured, much swooning was done.

"Am I just some guy you’re sleeping with?” he said as he bottomed out. “I want to look in your eyes when I make love to you.”
Sera you cannot DO this to me, it's not RIGHT. Seriously, I can only be so giddy.
This is is my favorite of the ones you've written so far. From a more technical perspective, your writing is just so much better than what I'm used to seeing.
But the feeling is where it shines in my opinion. You can absolutely just feel the love that went into it, and the love the characters share.. It's got a little bit of everything good, everything I like, and I LOVE it. So many different emotions you've made me feel with just four chapters, and what a lovely note you ended it on.
Just. Marvelous. And on a more personal note it SERIOUSLY helped me on a particularly bad night, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. <3

Exactly, exactly, the height of fucking soap opera. This fic from the perspective of Raven must've been so funny. I mean it very much went that way after Cinder left (soap opera, dramatic cuts and reveal that is), but she's not wrong, the rest of the cast + sex + babies is not a thing you'll see discussed, Jaune and Cinder are the only two who can say the word 'pregnant' without Mercury appearing asking when he's finally allowed to swear in this show.
Waa I'm going to crie you're so kind about my writing... I'm so glad the emotional bits work because that's the stuff I really personally love as a reader and value. And yes I love tragic elements so long as they're tempered by true happiness. <3 <3 I'm not sure I could write true tragedy, at the very least you'd know when I'm doing it...

This is is my favorite of the ones you've written so far. From a more technical perspective, your writing is just so much better than what I'm used to seeing.
As I have mentioned to you before I generally assume I am progressively getting worse, so this is reassuring. Although I do hope my relatively older fics still hold up too <3 <3
But the feeling is where it shines in my opinion. You can absolutely just feel the love that went into it, and the love the characters share.. It's got a little bit of everything good, everything I like, and I LOVE it. So many different emotions you've made me feel with just four chapters, and what a lovely note you ended it on.
Waaaaa <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 I was kind of embarrassed about posting it but I went ahead anyway, so I'm glad the things that worked about it were the things that initially made me hold off. That's a good sign!

I think there’s a couple I’ve shamefully haven’t replied to, but yes, I always try to. I love getting comments and I like engaging with readers, so I look forward to it.

I guess memories are bullets (Isabelle/Raphael, Shadowhunters) it’s pretty angsty by design.

darkened underpass, risqué business (Discworld, Adora/Moist), quite a few of my Femslash February Drabbles series... I tend to love my open-ish, “things could still happen after this” endings, which makes this questions difficult lol.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven’t written any... yet. I try to actively resist the crossover ideas that invade my brain, I have quite enough with the ones that I have for my singular fandoms some. Some of them are pretty insistent though, so it’s not unlikely I’ll end up writing a way too serious Black Sails/Legacies crossover (Billy Bones meets Ablah the Jinni in Skeleton Island!!), OR an appropiately dumb Desperate Housewives/Supernatural case fic xDDD
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not hate-hate, but somewhat annoying comments, yes. I still remember someone that started writing completely unrelated prompts for me to write next lol.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do, but as for “kind”, it’s hard to say? Whatever the story calls. I haven’t gotten to post that much smut yet; a few PWPs, a longer one in an original story on my writeblr. Some examples were a PWP of a established couple trying something new and fun (Adora/Moist, Discworld); a one-shot about the morning-after kind sad sex between people who should be enemies (Anna/Ruby, SPN); or what’s supposed to be the one night stand of two people that nonetheless connect, find something they needed together, and will eventually be the love of each other’s lives (original work, femslash).

Nope. I’d love to, I’m. Kind of a translation/languages nerd and I’d be way too invested lol.

Nope, and I think I’m too propietary of my writing to ever do it lol.

Gabrielle/Xena has a very, very special place in my heart. I haven’t written fic of them and I don’t know that I ever will. Some things are not meant to be touched. OTOH I plan to rewatch/complete my watch of the show eventually, so who knows lol.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Ideally I would love to finish strange bedfellows (Isabelle/Meliorn/Raphael) and forget the hearse ('cause I never die) (post-EG ironfam) one day, but I’ve stopped making promises. I consider the WIPs that I’m invested in at the moment a priority over those, especially wings high over me (but really, all my SPN and Black Sails WIPs lol).
15. What are your writing strengths?
I like to think my strength lies in characterization, in getting the characters’ voices right, both for dialogue and for the narration from their POVs. I also enjoy, and think I’m pretty good, on expanding on those characters, on creating details that enrich them especially when they were more secondary in fandom. Likes, dislikes, interests, routines, etc., that make them pop and feel unique and different from the rest.
I’m also still proud of myself for writing exactly 28 100-word drabbles for Femaslash February this year. I don’t know what I’ll do next year to top that lol.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing things <- keeping that LOL. I juggle to many ideas at once, struggling to get anything done ugh. And I still struggle with action and its description more than I will ever do for characters’ inner monologues, which come far, far easier to me. And I’m the worst when it comes to editing, because when I’m done with a chapter or story, I suddenly get SICK of it and can’t look at it for another moment lmao. I need to either let them rest -which I’m often too impatient to do-, or post them immediately and go back later lol.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I did a couple of sentences in one fic -and the footnotes option in ao3 was a blessing. I know I won’t ever do it in a language I’m not fluent in, that’s for sure. Too afraid of being called out on a bad translation xDD
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I became a lurker in the BTVS and HP fandoms at the same time, so either of those lol. The first fandom I posted for was Shadowhunters, with innocence, your history of silence and we stand up peerless on the 3rd of September of 2017. Late bloomer xD
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I think I’ve written about the ships I’d like to write, but I’ve definitely not posted for many of them. Almost none of my Black Sails ones, for one. I really look forward to that.

Hm... I dunno about favorites, cause they all love each other and he’s gotten some nice moments with most of them here and there! So instead, how bout some reasons why he loves each of ‘em in no particular order? :)
Blake - Fellow bookworm, major sibling energy (more accurate sibling dialogue than the actual siblings in the show), sassy interactions and great to just vibe with. They’ve got that thing where they can just be near each other and it’s comfy. They sit near each other in a lot of scenes, which was nice to see back when no one was really talking to him in v6. Blake just interacted with him like normal, which was nice and grounding when he felt most lost. While the others are off being chaotic or intense, they can just chill and talk about their favorite stories! Oscar used to dream about living through these books, but now he’s realizing he actually has, and that many of these books should not be classed as “fiction.” Blake asks him to autograph her copy of The Man with Two Souls.
Weiss - She’s the teammate he’s interacted with the least onscreen (which I think is a shame since he’s close in age to her brother and yet so different from him), but Oscar likes and admires all the Schneeblings (he remembers Winter fondly). Weiss went to the movies with him in v7! If only to get away from the bees XD She’s the one who tells the waiter when Oscar’s order is wrong. “It’s okay, you really don’t have to--” “Oscar you’re allergic to peanuts you could die.” “I mean, can I really though?” “No. I forbid it.” “So did god.”
Yang - She’s such a bro with him! Yang was the FIRST (and I think only??) character to ask how Oscar feels/what Oscar thinks about something. Ever. (Only took until Volume 7 for someone to ask that; maybe one day it’ll be asked to him and not just about him). Leaning on his shoulder was real cute :) Yang and Oscar were the only two to voice discomfort with lying to Ironwood, Winter, Penny, and the Ace Ops, both gently asking Ruby about her decision, disagreeing, but following her lead. Yang ruffled his hair in Monstra, that was such a sweet moment. She’s also the first member of her family to stop herself from punching him! (Okay with Ruby it was sparring but still) XD
Ruby - He looked up to her from the start, and now they treat one another like true equals. Ruby has always treated Oscar as his own person, even when he himself doubted it. She was the one to reach out and open up to him when he was more scared than he’d ever been, and that clearly meant a lot. During V6 he began to offer her comfort and support in return. V7 let them have discussions about what’s right, and come together to make decisions they could both agree on. They have a very healthy relationship to one another, where they’re allowed to disagree and talk and work together, remaining supportive and trusting through it all.
Jaune - They’ve both been the underdog, and are both still growing and finding their feet. Neither had their semblance when they met, and both feel like they have to work harder and train more than anyone else just to keep up. They practice together sometimes. “How’d you get to be such a good teacher?” “I had a friend help me like this when I was just starting out. Now it’s my turn.” They went to the movies in v7 and the huge smile and big hug in Monstra truly showed how much they’ve bonded and the effort Jaune’s put in to make sure he can be comfortable around him again. He’s given him compliments, called him brilliant, and has become a solid teammate and friend. Oscar lived alone with his Aunt. Jaune was always the baby brother. Now he has someone looking up to him. They are brothers, your honor.
Ren: Ren defended risking his life in the hopes of saving Oscar, truly viewing him as not only a part of the team, but as a friend. He was always soft with him, (even if he lost his temper when Oscar lost the lamp). After riding the hoverbike with Yang, Oscar switched to ride with Ren because no way was he going through that again. Ren is a much safer driver, especially with Oscar on board. He’s been more of a supportive figure from afar, a background comfort to him. Ren accepted him right from the start, patiently teaching him about aura and semblances, and encouraging him that it’s something he can work towards.
Nora: She’s always been so affectionate with Oscar, almost motherly (but like, the world’s most chaotic-yet-loving mother whose son is more responsible than her). She stopped calling him “little cute boy Ozpin” or “cute boy Oz” as soon as it became clear he values being his own person, and has only referred to him as Oscar since. She regularly greets him with tackle hugs, but when he returned after being shot, she gave him a soft, gentle embrace, just happy to see him safe. Nora and Oscar were also the most vocal about helping Mantle, and both confronted Ironwood about the morality and consequences of his choices. Both wanted to warn the people of the kingdom about the incoming attack, actively opposed his implementation of martial law, and explained why it will only cause more division to treat some people as not worth saving. Listen, they’re both commies and you cannot change my mind.
RWBYALPN has accepted Oscar as one of them, an irreplaceable part of the team, making sure he knows they want him around for who he is. <3

I got an ask for Qrow Branwen so here it comes !
My fav ship(s) for the character
I think my favorite ships for Qrow are Cloqwork and Fair Game !
Cloqwork lacked screentime in terms of canon content of course, but I love the potential here. I also have a things for shipping the sad men together xD There are a lot of REALLY great Cloqwork fanfics out there and I love seeing people write about these two <3
It's in the details but I think there's something interesting here. With Qrow who is convinced to be a curse, who came from such a harsh background... And with Ozpin who is so convinced of humanity's inherent goodness and that anyone deserves a chance. At the same time they're both very complicated people who I think would interact in cool ways. Ozpin is wise but does have a mischievous streak that I think also helped in making them both get along. Qrow is much more perceptive than he appears and that's also good for dealing with someone as secretive as Ozpin.
Fair Game also had a very good start ! The relationship was admittedly a bit tilted toward Qrow's recovery in the show, but they were nice to see together. Clover was perceptive & caring as well as patient. All great qualities for a relationship with Qrow, who has a hard time breaking down his walls and a shot mental health. At the same time, Atlas is very professional, straight-to-the-point and I think Qrow is a real breath of fresh hair in that environment. He brings a different viewpoint to the table, he's very loyal & caring and it's clear that his sass amused Clover greatly. We didn't get to learn enough about him, but Clover's VA hinted that Clover's trust was a fragile thing and he wasn't a fan of showing vulnerability. Qrow, who gives everything he has in all his relationships, would have been a great balm for that uncertainty. So yeah !
My least favorite ship(s) for the character
There are, of course, any & all ships between Qrow & the kids or Qrow & Salem's team. But outside of these obvious "nope", I'll have to go with Jailbirds. This is COMPLETELY personal but I have a really hard time liking Robyn's character as of V7 end/V8 so I'm barely interested in her dynamic with Qrow. I did appreciate her talking down Qrow from revenge because he was only doing it for his own sake but... That's about it. I find her way too abrasive (hidden behind her shiny Robinhood looks). And whereas Clover (imo) was pretty good at getting Qrow to face his issus head-on & building him up, I feel like Robyn relies more on humour & deflection... Which is an art Qrow is already acquainted with, and not the best coping mechanism for him. Aaaand I just feel like she put Clover down several time in order to lift Qrow up. That, plus the queerbaiting controversy, plus her having indirectly participated to Clover's death... The ship makes me a bit uncomfortable.
My fav & least fav platonic relationship(s) for the character
My fav platonic relationship for Qrow is his bond with Ruby ! I really hope they bring it back because these two were GREAT together. Ruby's admiration was adorable. Qrow's nonchalent but clearly protective streak. They care about each other A LOT and I really loved them together. I hope they can have more moments together like back in V3-V4 or V6.
I'm not sure what my least liked platonic relationship would be. Saying Robyn again feels like beating on a dead horse but I don't really have a problem with any other ones. They're all, if not kind & good for him, at least interesting (like Raven)
My favorite thing about the character
The combination of his sassy/cynic personnality and how loyal & caring of a person he actually he is. Qrow is rough around the edges, leans easily into banter but he cares so damn much. He fit so easily next to Ruby's peppy enthusiasm in Vol 1-3, and then he was just an incredible badass and yet so damn vulnerable human in Vol 4-6.
I liked that about him. How all the pieces fit together
My biggest criticism for the character
Well I have 2 things to say about that. First : V7C12 With Friends like these. What the fuck was this episode qkfazkfhkgh
Qrow's brain was nerfed SO DAMN HARD, I was genuinely pissed while watching the episode. This was just a string of dumb decisions from everyone except Tyrian. But I digress -
In a more general sense, I'd say... putting Qrow in the sidelines. Him falling further into depression was a sound decision. It was interesting and fitting of his character imo. But I feel like they tied "Ruby having enough of his alcooholism" and "Ruby growing away from adults" in a way that kind of.... just put Qrow to the side and doesn't allow him to do much. In V6 finale, Qrow expresses understandable concerns about their plan to steal an airship, but instead of dealing with that Ruby's frustration with his cynicism is aired out and... the timing kind of makes the whole thing weird becaus Qrow isn't allowed to disagree with their plan ("we'll do it with you or without you") and then has to trust Ruby and let her go which AGAIN is a great moment in itself. But all that put together just like... rid Qrow of his function as a parental figure because Ruby is the leader now and he's just... kind of following along.
When was their writing at the peak according to me (ex : best season)
Okay for this one Q, I'll have to go with Vol 4 and Vol 6 for very different reasons.
V4 was great because we really got to get to know Qrow. His complicated relationship with Raven. How BADASS his encounter with Tyrian was I freaking loved it. What his semblance and how it shaped his life. And it also let him be vulnerable through the poison & seeing Ruby repay his care was very nice.
Vol 6 for fleshing out, taking his issues & drinking more seriously. Showing more hopelesness and cynicism, and that he had a real drinking problem and he wasn't just a fun drunk. Plus the loss of faith in Oz showed how much Qrow needs stability and secure certainties to orbit around despite his nonchalant personnality.
But I like it a bit less because it was the starting point of putting him on the side kind of.
A song I think fits them & why
Ship in a Bottle (Steffan Argus)
➸ A song about being alone in your fight, in the sense that your life is like a sail on the ocean and you are the only captain, the only one who can choose what to do with it. At the same time, there are several mentions of a "captain" as if the singer/Qrow adresses someone else. It's reminiscent of his relation with Ozpin or Clover : speaking of a deal, of being honest and sharing what's on your mind. Qrow thinks too much, he's scared and he sinks more & more as he delves into his cynicism (V6).
Qrow cries, things get worse, the mention of the glass echoes his struggle with alcooholism. And the Scarewrow loses his brain, "lose touch with all the things that made [him] feel sane."

A headcanon to make up about them
Qrow didn't have the most normal childhood and because of that he had to learn a lot for Ruby & Yang. Notably, Qrow had absolutely 0 notion of what was an appropriate presents for young girls. As a result, he tended to simply bring back from his travels whatever shiny thing might have caught his attention. Could be a weird flower. Could be a pretty knife. Or even junk that his corvid brain latched upon.
Tai designed a look(Tm) that Qrow learned to recognize as "No, not appropriate." After a while, Yang learned to mimick it (but rather at random, she didn't really recognze what was appropriate and what wasn't). Ruby always liked his presents though.
What I would change about them if I was making a re-write
I CLEARLY would rewrite V7C12 so that Qrow & Clover keep their brains kzjhfkqhzk
There were ways to reach the same conclusion without like... having a Qrow-Tyran team-up which was REALLY weird
I see 2 main possibilities to stick close to canon content
- After the crash, Tyrian gets free but he keeps playing dead for a bit. Since there is no 3rd menace, Clover and Qrow's argument devolve into a fight as seen in canon. At one point, Clover manages to briefly disarm Qrow. They discuss for a bit, you can even put the exact same dialog as in the ep. Then Tyrian takes action, moving out of the shadows to kill Clover with Qrow's discarded weapon. Braincells saved.
OR
- Instead of having Qrow & Tyrian outright team up, Tyrian just... keeps instillating doubts in their mind. Qrow & Clover are temporarily allies in taking Tyrian down but because of this, they don't TRUST each other which cause missteps and make them less effective.
At one point, Qrow tries to attack Tyrian who is behind Clover. But because neither Qrow nor Clover really have faith in the other at that moment (and because Tyrian is poisonning their mind), Clover automatically steps back or aside. He doesn't entirely trust Qrow. Because of this small hesitation, Qrow's attack fails. Tyrian manages to disarm him. Tyrian uses Qrow's weapon to kill Clover.
There could even be some message here about the lack of Trust & letting Salem divide friends... something of that caliber in any case 🤔 It can even parallel V3 where Qrow did the same thing with Ironwood & Ironwood refused to stand aside even if he thought Qrow meant to attack him... Could lead somewhere ! Like, in V3 Qrow had faith that Ironwood wasn't to blame. Only Ironwood feared that Qrow blamed him, but Qrow knew & trusted that Ironwood wasn't to blame. In other words, Salem didn't divide them.
Here, Qrow & Clover let Tyrian get into their head. And as a result Clover dies. "Together we stand, Divided we fall"
My guess for their MBTI/Enneagram
I'm still mulling on it right now but I think he might be some kind of ISTP 416. He has some weird 7ish behaviour but his need to orbit around someone/a goal, his relationship with Oz, how close he stuck to Tai & Summer sounds closer to 6 fix. He wants people to go home to. Certainty and security. His independance definitely is there but seems emphasized moreso out of necessity.
One aspect that I think would be nice to delve deeper into ? (optional)
I'm not sure mhmmm maybe his relationship with Summer ? It would be both cute & interesting. As well as finally giving us insight into who Summer was
