Writing an "Oh. Oh." moment, except instead of "Oh shit, I am in love" it's "Oh shit, I am traumatized."

Me: First drafts are there to only exist. Not to bee good, not to be perfect. They are there to be edited later on the line. You can't edit a blank page!
Friend: Good! So finish your first draft.

I, of mostly sound body and spirit, request that if I’m ever to die, someone post a new work on my AO3 that says “sorry, she died, ongoing stories postponed forever” because don’t I want my fanfic buddies to think I ghosted them. Amen or whatever you say in a will.

I’d be UNSTOPPABLE if I didn’t have to sleep.
Being a writer and being in school and having hovering parents is an insane balance more fic writers should get credit for because how am I supposed to finish this fic by Christmas if I have to sleep and do homework and like function normally? And try to avoid explaining to my parents I’m writing fanfiction about some dead gay guys from the 70s?

If you don't know your character's entire DNA sequence, you're doing character creation wrong.

What if we’re living in an AU on AO3?
What if there’s another version of us in cannon running around killing monsters, but some random person wrote our lives ‘Alternate Universe—Modern Setting’ style?
What if that time you said ‘That’s make a good TV show’ the author was telling an ironic joke and giggling to themself?
What if when you meet a weird person on the street you never see again, the author was doing an Easter Egg for the readers where that was another character from the story?
What if you’re straight in canon but so queer-coded the fandom decided you weren’t?
What if you’re written OOC?
What if—

Sometimes I am forced to come to terms with the fact that most people don't think of prose in terms of Rhythm
[am reminded of a John Rogers blog post where he talks about the sound driving how he directs a show]
[Also those Hunger Games text analyses talking about how the prose sentence structure changes depending on the setting and the stress that Katniss is under.]
I was really into "this is how poetry works" in middle school.
Considered poetry as a direction for my writing, never quite fit, but the format of "this is how stress and diction and punctuation affect the tone and mood" has been in my prose pretty much ever since.

The amount of round about ways I have to go about not naming things my main character wouldn't know the name of is hilarious.
