Sanemi is the most feared Hashira amongst his peers and it is not difficult to see why.

With his lack of patience and the anger coupled with the brute strength which could rival a demon it really isn't so shocking to see why so many people run away from him. Just who in their right mind would ever approach him willingly? What, got a death wish or something? He is notorious for his mean taunts and insults so harsh that being bitten by a demon almost feels like a merciful act.

Therefore, imagine just how flabbergasted every single person is once they see how... decent Sanemi is around you.

Gone is the angry and bitter attitude nor is he reaching for his sword to cut you down. He was acting like a normal human being, something that honestly terrified the people around him a lot more than it should have. Perhaps he did have a heart? An actual real, bleeding, beating heart?

Who would have thought!

Sanemi almost treats you like glass sometimes. Sure, he yells, complains and grunts but he never has the nerve to fully go against you either. No matter what you did he could ever resent you for anything you did, ever.

What mostly made him mad were the people who took up so much of your and his time.

What, can't a guy drink tea in peace?! So what if he's with you?! Leave him be!

If it were not for Gyomei, countless slayers would have lost their lives because of Sanemi.

When he's with you his hard and tough attitude melts, like an iceberg that just barely got touched by the sun but it was still touched none the less. He loved being with you but he would rather die than say that out loud. God knows what would become of him if people were to find out about his weakness and he just was not willing to share you like that. You were his to treasure, his to protect and his to love.

And there was no one else who could fulfill that role.

He would not allow it.

CHARACTERS: shinazugawa sanemi (21), reader (12), nezuko (14), tanjiro (16)

☆ sanemi hates demons.

☆ that much is clear from the spectacle he made of your older sister, nezuko, at the hashira's headquarters with that horrrible temper of his. needless to say, you don't like him at all and he clearly doesn't like you or your sister, either. it certainly doesn't help that master kagaya seems to have a sour sense of humor as you're now stuck with him as your babysitter.

☆ both tanjiro and nezuko vehemently object to master kagaya's orders. the servants of the residence had to literally rip you from the ironed grips of your older siblings, who were screaming bloody murder as if you'd be separated for the rest of eternity. they were certainly being a tad bit dramatic, but you'd be lying if you said you weren't just as upset.

☆ with the deal set in stone, however, sanemi drags you to his home as begrudgingly as humanly possible and condemns you to one of his spare bedrooms. apparently he lived alone (expected tbh) in a traditional style home, complete with the koi ponds and bamboo deer scares. it's nice, you'll give him that, but his nasty attitude doesn't seem to match the beauty of his residence.

☆ although your living conditions are less than ideal, you're old enough to know that staying under someone else's roof is almost never free. you try (keyword: try) to do what you can to help around the house but sanemi is constantly hollering at you to leave him alone or to not mess with his stuff.

☆ he insists you stay in your room and out of his way, but you still tail behind him from afar out of your debilitating boredom. if he notices, he says nothing, and simply ignores you as if you're not even there. at least when you were with tanjiro and nezuko there was always something to do—sanemi is so boring.

☆ sometimes sanemi gets really angry for seemingly no reason and at any given time. he'll storm outside and take it out on the poor practice dummies that litter his backyard, grunting in oblivious rage when he accidentally kicks one of their heads off. you're not sure what it is about you that makes him so angry; you've kind of already ruled it out as his perpetual state of being.

☆ and, well, sanemi doesn't... hate you. you remind him so much of his younger brother, genya, and most of his anger is only borne out of pain. as the eldest of the family he once knew, it's not like the instincts he acquired to take care of his siblings just went away. you simply remind him of who he used to be and the weaknesses that tore his family apart make him inexplicably angry.

☆ considering your resemblance to his late younger siblings (and genya), sanemi does get protective over you in his own ways. sometimes you meddle too close to the windows during the day, so he'll yell at you to move. or sometimes when you're scarfing down the raw meat he gives you, he yells at you to slow down lest you choke.

☆ it may seem like he's not paying attention to you at all, but he's always peeking at you with watchful eyes. he's notices that you like to watch him train but can't be out in the sun, so he hung up a blanket in the branches of a nearby tree without saying a word to you. you smile knowing that you're growing on him.

☆ during the evening, sanemi often catches you out in the garden picking flowers. usually he'd shrug his shoulders and turn his nose up, but he felt compelled to see what you were doing out there all the time. plus, he couldn't have you wandering out beyond the walls.

☆ "what're you doin', kid?" sanemi's booming voice scares you and you drop your basket of colorful flowers on the ground with a squeak. you scramble to gather them again and you're surprised to see a pair of scarred hands helping out, too.

☆ "i'm gonna make flower crowns for when tanjiro and nezuko get back." you answer once all the flowers are back in the basket. sanemi snorts. "flower crowns?"

☆ you nod. "yup! here, i'll show you how to make one." sanemi has zero time to refuse as you grab his hand and pull him down onto the grass with you. you take a length of string that you had stolen from one of his many rooms of junk and began to attach the flowers to it with a clever weaving pattern.

☆ sanemi is fuming in embarrassment as you eagerly teach him how to make a stupid flower crown. this is ridiculous. but why can't he just get up and leave? when you hand him the string of flowers to try it out for himself, your childish giggling is contagious as he fumbles clumsily and accidentally crushes the delicate stem in his callous grip.

☆ in the end, sanemi finds himself enjoying making flower crowns with you, but he threatens you violently with a ruffle of your hair should you tell anyone about it. he would never admit it but as he looks at the crudely made flower crown that you helped him with, he feels a distantly familiar feeling of warmth igniting in his heart again.

☆ the rest of the days you spend with sanemi begin to feel more pleasant than it did initially. sanemi no longer leaves you to your own devices, but instead tries to find things for you to do during the day when you can't go outside. he'll bring you puzzles and teach you how to read with children's folktales written on tarnished scrolls that he said he kept from his old family home.

☆ you're not sure what happened, but sanemi dotes on you now. once you had tripped and split your finger open, and sanemi rushed to your side like it had been your head. it healed within a few seconds, but sanemi still scolded you for walking around unsupervised.

☆ and when you get feverish due to your refusal of eating human flesh, which is often, sanemi tarries by your side day and night in order to make sure you're as comfortable as can be. cold, damp towels on your forehead, fresh raw meat at your bedside, and anything else you want, he gets for you. the worry etched into the lines of his forehead shows how much he cares about you.

☆ by the time tanjiro and nezuko return from their mission to collect you, sanemi doesn't even want to let you go. in fact, you've both grown attached to each other and while you're overjoyed to see your siblings again, sanemi has also become something like an older brother to you. you've grown to love the big residence and his presence.

☆ you're in tears as sanemi pats your head and smiles crookedly at you for what feels like the last time. you beg tanjiro to let you stay longer but he firmly tells you no. sanemi makes tanjiro promise that he'll take you to visit him or else he'll kill him (he's serious).

☆ when you inevitably depart from sanemi (tanjiro has to pry you away from him), he feels about as lonely as the day is long. the residence feels too big without you following behind him like his own shadow, and every time he turns a corner he half-expects to find you doing something to cause trouble.

☆ sanemi takes the flower crown you both made and seals it in a glass jar. he hopes that you'll visit again before it withers, or else he might just go out and find you himself.

Gyomei Himejima:

He’s a shy giant once realizing you have such a naughty mind. While his face is completely red, realizing that you’ve always stared at his chest and ass, something inside him doesn’t mind it and he actually likes it.

Gyomei would rather not have you touch him inappropriately in public, but once at home, you can touch him as much as you’d like. Sure, he’s a bit embarrassed, but he loves feeling your hands on his abs and ass.

Sanemi loves a good chase and a good fight. His favorite thing to do when facing off against demons is to toy with them, using only the surface of his strength first, letting them think they’re getting the upper hand to prolong the fight. It’s a sick sadism on his behalf and at the same time, a way to blow off steam before he whips out his breathing technique and beats the demon to a pulp.

Likewise, you’re his cute little stress toy. But you’re no demon- no, you’re far too innocent and cute to be one- but you’re such a wonderful partner to him, he can’t help but get a bit selfish with you when he’s lost everything.

It’s not like you mind it anyway. It’s such a wonderful thrill to run along the hallways of his estate, helpless and weak when he chases you around. He doesn’t even use his full speed because if he did then he’d catch you in mere seconds and he doesn’t want that. A/n- I apologize for not posting, I had to take a break to recuperate. Though I'm back and have a new story coming!

Affection — how do they show their love and affection?

Tsundere at heart, Sanemi isn't touchy unless he is punching or kicking angrily. Though, quality time and gift giving are his affections.

Blood — how messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Barbarous, will ruthlessly strangle or impale the threatening person. Sanemi has no tolerance for people or demons when it comes to you, you are his top priority.

Cruelty — how would they treat their darling once abducted?

Even how feral and insensitive Sanemi can act, Sanemi is tender and caring beneath his calloused surface. When around you those traits are exposed. He can be caring, relaxed, and attentive.

Darling — aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Though he's more considerate towards you but eventually he'll want to get intimate with you, forceful or not. Besides that, forcing you to give affection and forcing you to become a housewife/husband.

Exposed — how vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Rarely, only because he doesn't want you to abuse his sensitive side.

Fight — how would they feel if their darling fought back?

Irritated, he'll start cursing and manhandling you. He hates it, he wants you to come willingly, and wants to comfort you but doesn't know how to deal with your distressed attitude.

Game — is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

No, Sanemi is serious and he is serious with your relationship. He hates and gets frustrated from your attempts to escape.

Hell — what would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

He had forgotten to secure the door before leaving for the mission. Noticing this, you made a run for it. Just as you exit out the door, you collide into Sanemi. You shitted yourself, almost literally, as he stared down at you furiously.

"Where the hell are you going!?" Sanemi seethed, shoving you back and onto your bottom.

"..."

"Quiet now, huh!?" He sneered, shadowing you.

He'd gotten abusive, smacking you and degrading you. Assuring you that everyone would believe you're deranged if you ratted him out, that you'll never be able to leave him.

Ideals — what kind of future do they have in mind for their darling?

After riding the demons, Sanemi would love to wed you and later on have kids with you.

Jealousy — do they get jealous? How do they handle it?

Obviously, Sanemi hates when people's attention is on you. Sending a warning glare at the person firstly but if the person's ogling or flirtatious comments doesn't falter, then they become food for the demons.

Rough-jealous sex or plenty of affection will soothe his envy attitude.

Kisses — how do they act around or with their darling?

Calm and blithe, a simp, only if you behave; though if you misbehave, he is forceful and selfish. Even if he isn't giving physical affection, he is in arm's reach distant listening to you. He'll prepare your favorite meal or purchase your needs and wants.

Love letters — how would they go about approaching their darling?

Small conversations, a simple how you are doing before taking his leave. Progressing to more words over time and the two of you do not have to exchange words, he's content in your presence.

Mask — are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

He's a lot more tender with you than he is in front of his coworkers, but he is still that stubborn and foolhardy man at times.

Naughty — how would they punish their darling?

Without a doubt, he does not tolerate you misbehaving. He goes farther than verbally attacking you: slapping you, degrading you, isolating you, and breaking bones if bad enough.

Oppression — how many rights would they take away from their darling?

Sanemi steals the majority of your freedoms, and the only one you pretty much got is being able to go outside but only to the vicinity of his estate. If you go farther than that, he considers it an attempt to escape.

Patience — how patient are they with their darling?

Depending on his days, if he feels irritable then he can be snappy and stand offish towards you. But on particular days that he is untroubled then he has patience that no one has seen.

Quite — if their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Sanemi is enraged if you successfully escape, cursing loudly and preparing to throw hands with everyone. He spends his free-time searching for you. With how much he travels, it would be rather hard to stay hidden. You better hope he doesn't find you because there will be hell to pay.

Sanemi goes into shock if you pass; his face is stoic in front of his peers but within and behind closed doors, he is grieving hard. He becomes more rash and abrasive than he was before, giving people and demons hell now that the person who eased his aggressive side is gone.

Regret — would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling?

Sanemi is aware that what he is doing is wrong, but he can't find the reason to care. You're his, and no matter how resentful you are towards him he is happy that you are in his grasp.

Stigma — what brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Your sweet, patient, and easygoing nature reminded Sanemi of Kanae, he missed that and he wanted that again—even though you weren't her but he loved all of you. When you came from a mission with crucial injuries, near fatal, he was emotionally distressed. He kidnapped you to protect you, he doesn't want to lose you like the others.

Tears — how do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

Distressed, frustrated, and panicked. He doesn't know how to comfort people in these types of situations, and he comes off as angry when he is panicking and trying to figure out how to comfort you—he hates seeing you this way.

Unique — would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

He is more violent than a typical yandere, he is also very possessive.

Vice — what weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Take the time when he is on a mission. For being one of the strongest hashiras, Sanemi is sent on lengthy missions and is rather busy.

Wit’s end — would they ever hurt their darling?

Yes, when he's blinded by anger he'll hit you or hurt your feelings.

Xoanon — how much would they revere or worship their darling?

To a certain extent, he worships you but he also wants you to worship him as well.

Yearn — how long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

For a while actually, for a couple of months he'll become acquainted with you before you get seriously injured and he kidnaps you.

Zenith — would they ever break their darling?

Maybe unintentionally, it could be one of those times when he gets violent and you become emotional and mentally dead.

You didn’t feel comfortable with the situation ( seeing as this man nearly beat someone to death ) , so you wished him a good night , and started to walk away.

★ Sanemi was reminded of his mission , when his crow checked on him as he was taking a few steps to follow you. He just decided that he would finish his mission , and go look for you , but by the time he had killed the demon , you were long gone

★ Over the span of the next couple of days , Sanemi couldn’t stop thinking about what dangers you could be in. He finally had enough and decided that you would be a lot safer with him. He made his way back to the red light district , and be an asking around for you. It did not take him very long to locate you. When he went to your boss to demand you , he was then informed about all of the debts that you had . Within a couple of seconds of your boss saying that , there was a bag of gold in front of him.

★ Sanemi had paid all of your debts

★ That being said , Sanemi technically owned you . When your boss called you to the front , you thought that it was just another customer, until you looked up at the tall man in front of you. You immediately started to back away , before suddenly Sanemi grabbed you , and started to drag you away while muttering under his breath.

★ You knew that you were not in a good situation.

★ You started to cry for help , but it was too late. Sanemi had already dragged you too far away. You tried to run but before you could even take a few steps , everything went black. When you opened your eyes , you noticed that you were tied to a large bed , and sitting in the corner of the room was the same man staring at you while you struggled against your restraints .

I'm 20+ female who identifies as asexual and bi-demiromantic.

I've had a rather rough past that left its scars on me. As such I appear stoic, cautious, and reserved, but people have described me as loyal, dedicated, earnest, caring, and kind.
