Last minute Swifties

Contrary to what many thought and some posted, I do think the OL cast's Taylor Swift experience was a last minute promo idea, very much monitored by *** and Tall Ships. I was wrong about minder/security guy (still, eerie...) and I never have a problem publicly admitting it. But quite unlikely I am wrong about this one. And sorry for the length, but you know how I am when I am looking for something, right?

Let's unpack: cast thanked the 'organizers' (and minders, really) in very specific terms, leaving NO much doubt:

Louisa McCulloch. Remember this name, we shall meet her in one hot minute. So thank you Louisa and Maril for organizing this: ask yourselves why did Maril, who (as far as I know) is based in the US, have to come to Edinburgh just for the gig. Damage control, perhaps?

And Sophie S., with a remarkable choice of words:

'Thank you ***, TS and her team for making it happen'. In my book, this means a strong, common effort to secure the box last minute. Because 'making it happen' means exactly that: 'need to do everything you can to facilitate it'.

Clearly Skelton, who is a Swiftie in her own right, was particularly appreciative of the efforts it took to ensure everyone could attend the concert. If that were a long planned event, her enthusiasm would have been more temperate, I think. 'Adding more Swifties to the clan' - LOL, Sophie, you mean S and C had no idea of the lyrics and were unable to sing along with you, John Bell, Izzy and Co (I keep forgetting their names and I like them a lot, in the show)? People of my generation are already too damn old for Taylor S. And this different sort of music might be more of S's real preference: otherwise why post it in his stories, as if to say ' TS is a different thing altogether'?

James. A Manchester rock band, formed in 1982, popular in the Nineties. I see no lies: he was clear 'JAMMF is a Swiftie'. And we are, after all, Children of the Nineties, not TS's crowd. And yes, I knew S was into the same kind of music as I was, in the Nineties (he seems to have stayed put, right there, unlike me, LOL):

Anyways, back to the mysterious woman up and front on three pictures in a row, that got many speculating. Nope, that was not Wendy, the MUA and S's bestie:

Her name is Louisa McCulloch, née Radcliffe and she is the one S thanked, along with Maril (see above). It was a bit hard finding her, because her IG account is private. But I found her alright on Facebook, and then LinkedIn (of course):

Based in Lockerbie, Scotland. 20 years experience as a media publicist:

Worked with *** and Tall Ships since Season 3, after a short stint as Head of Publicity at the Paramount Pictures London Office. Got promoted from Unit Publicist to Publicist during COVID, for Season 6. So yes, she is the one who made it happen, locally, on what I think was a quite short notice.

Attention successfully diverted. Impeccable timing and giving a younger crowd what it wants. Trying to capitalize on TS's huge Instagram fan base: 283 million followers (wow! I had no fucking idea she was so huge). A win-win situation for just about everyone and an elegant way out from sordid waters:

And it worked. Lost among the hundred of thousands of likes and comments, look who's jumping on the bandwagon:

Sharon Stone. With a Blue Check and her 3.9 million Instagram fanbase. A Nineties deity, need I remind you (this blogger spotted her during the Berlinale 2007, while I was going out for drinks, blissfully unaware we were all staying at The Adlon, LOL)?

They mutually follow each other on Insta, by the way. I wonder why *urv did not pounce on that one. I feel robbed, for once, of a wonderful fanfic.

[Later edit] Several comments take on this person without a proper justification. I am editing this post to remind you she is only responsible for the implementation (in Scotland) of decisions taken elsewhere (in the United States of America). She is NOT a decision maker and as Publicist, was probably responsible for the local implementation of a hasty decision to attend an event (secure VIP box at Murrayfield, sell content to the local press). The direct contact with TS's team was, very likely, Maril and upwards, in the hierarchy. In all fairness, she has nothing to do with a billboard spotted in Los Angeles, USA - nothing of the sort in Europe. I am all for taxing, but let's tax people who are really RESPONSIBLE: she is just a very well paid underling. Thank you all, I am sure you understand fairness can only add to our credibility as a group.

Some spoiler thoughts for episode 2x05

I haven't done a rewatch yet, so these are just some initial thoughts on the episode (spoilers):

Daniel was so not let go after those 3 days. Bank on it.

Daniel already said it -- the drug den thing was a fabrication of his memories being rewritten. But, more to it, Louis' memories of that time were also rewritten. Between that as well as his extensive burn? Who knows what Louis even remembers of the 1970s either.

Neither Louis nor Daniel remember a damn thing of what happened during what would be the Devil's Minion period! (Particually because who knows how long it took Louis to even heal. With those types of burns, I'm going to say a few years at least.)

The show left things extremely open-ended for both Daniel and Louis' characters at the end of the flashbacks which can be filled with whatever the show writers might have ideas about that time period over how many whatever seasons. They haven't locked themselves into one single thing going forward leaving it open-ended that way.

Yeah, even if they want Louis and Daniel to have had sex sometime later. Because again, they both don't remember anything. 😏

But Armand -- Armand does. He remembers all of it. And oh you dear, f-ed up gremlin, I really did think you might not have been responsible for Daniel's memories, but now I'm starting to wonder . . . .

Louis, in 1973, doing what he does in Merrick. Because it was remembering Claudia -- how she manipulated him -- that sent him running into the sun. And even though he tried -- and failed -- to do it in 1973, he's going to fully remember it in the present day too IMO and, this time, he'll succeed at doing it.

Because yes, in Merrick, Louis actually succeeds in killing himself. It's only because of how vampire blood works, and a lot of it being poured over Louis' body, that he is revived. And I really think we are headed toward a "rule of three" wrt this. I think Armand clocked Louis was close to killing himself sometime directly after Paris because of maybe almost really trying so, and that is why Armand put a veil up over Louis' mind.

Because even back in 1973 it's clear that Louis actually didn't remember the bit about Claudia until he drank Daniel's drugged-up blood! Between that and Arman directly saying "She didn't love you!" (which yes, was a line taken directly from toward the end of the IWTV book that Armand says to Louis about Claudia), whatever cloud Louis was actually under in 1973 lifted for a bit . . . enough for him to run out into that sun and almost succeeded -- which I feel we'll learn/see was actually his second attempt.

His third (and final) attempt will be in the finale. And that time will be the one that succeeds. (And then he'll be resurrected/reborn).

"Am I going to be on suicide watch for the next 1000 years?" Yeah, Armand, it looks very well that you are -- will be.

I loved Luke as young Daniel! And I feel very sure we're going to see more of him. He and Jacob had such a bouncy chemistry.

And oh, the scenes between him and Assad as Armand -- so creepy and sinister! Just what it should be at this point in time between Daniel and Armand, at the beginning of things. They even had Daniel held prisoner in the house for three days, the same length of time he was held in the cage in the books. But everything Armand did to Daniel here was so much more unnerving, particularly the chair thing.

So . . . Armand really didn't know the Talamasca was watching then? Hmm, okay show but I'm side-eyeing that one. Because really, he should have IMO.

Though I did notice that Daniel strategically didn't show Louis the pictures of him and Armand taking Daniel out of the house. Which I still don't think makes any freakin' sense, them doing it the way they did, even with Louis being hurt like that. I supposed Louis wanted to make sure Armand didn't hurt Daniel still, but . . . .

And oh, Armand. I can see any and all attempts to defend you wrt what is coming have really slipped away much after this. I know why you are doing all of this, I get it I do, but . . . *sigh*

You should have told Louis that Lestat was saying, "I love you." But you are still so scared of being alone . . . this is all going to bite you back next season Armand. So, so much.

Would I say it's my most favorite episode of the show ever so far? Not yet. But I known it's the one of Season 2 that I'm going to rewatch over and over the most so far. Yes, I love it for the beginning of Devil's Minion that it gave us, of course. But I love that it also really started to show the friendship and trust that Rolin Jones kept saying last season was between Louis and Daniel. Louis and Daniel just being friends is something I never expected going into the show and has become such a favorite dynamic of mine too.

So yeah, it was a wonderful episode. I do think it was hyped up a bit too much in the "most disturbing thing I've ever seen" department because I actually did not find it to be all that disturbing in the horror department. But as far as character development and dynamic building goes it was stellar and revealed some great things, so I can ignore my little nitpicks.

So... do the antis know that Elriels aren't typically concerned with or have a big stake in the Mor & Emerie ship or Lucien & Vassa??

Like they're always trying to bring up "If you think Gwyn doesn't have enough development in the books to be with Azriel then how do you still ship Mor & Emerie?? HUH??"

Except the thing is ... I don't.

It's not necessarily the gotcha moment they think it is. I think THEY immediately shipped Emerie & Mor (I guess them being the only lesbians in ACOTAR made them suddenly soulmates now?) and expected everyone else to do the same.

Except that's not the case. I don't have a vested interest in Mor and Emerie, nor do I expect them to end up together. Honestly I don't really care even what happens with their storyline. Not when there are still more pressing stories to be told for the main characters.

Like the reason Gwyn nor Emerie showed up in that fated mates quiz is because they are not main characters. That's it. Lucien showed up because despite being MIA for 3 books, he's still grudgingly a main character. This argument of "Well, SJM isn't going to spoil Gwynriel through a quiz and Emerie isn't there either when we all know she's going to end up with Mor" is so odd? Because nobody expected Emerie to show up on this quiz either. Again, she isn't an MC. And neither is Gwyn.

Their logic is always so backwards. They're fighting the air at this point, trying to argue against a defense literally no Elriel has used against Gwynriel.

Would Vassien & Emerie/Mor be cute ships? Sure. But I'm not out here screaming that they are 100% endgame or even going to happen. I'm focused on Elriel.

Whereas the Gwynriels NEED Elucien to happen and Mor/Emerie (whatever their ship name is idk even), to make the Valkyries stay relevant past ACOSF.

I really don't get the obsession, tbh. Like was ACOSF decent and the Valks were badass? Yes. Do I want to read 2 more books about that? Absolutely not.!

Is there a term for when “woke” places are more expensive than their normal counterparts? Like the Woke Tax, like how there’s the Pink Tax?

Friend is going to a campground that markets itself as an inclusive campground, in relation to your average one. I felt like the price seemed high so I did some comparing

Both are in a state park, same weekend, both are cabins with electricity but no air conditioning, for 1-4 people, public bathrooms and showers, access to food you can buy on the grounds, minimum 3 night state

Inclusive campground: Roughly $460 (However there is a caveat that I found three different rate structures on 3 different pages but for this specific weekend it looked like a flat $300 to cover the three days rather than per night as that seems to be the rate for that cabin on holiday long weekends which this would be)

Regular campground: Roughly $190

The inclusive site says it occasionally has programs it encourages LGBTQ+ and BIPOC people to attend but they don’t say what or when those happen, I could not find any other examples of how it is inclusive.

The state park site lists everything you can do and how to go about doing it and what to do if in danger from someone and what rules there are for the area.

It also does not say how inclusivity is provided or enforced, just that it’s there. My guess is the idea is the only people who would go here would be the type to like it, but this is the only campground with cabins for this particular place so it’s either free tent camping or you pay for cabins here, so I’m not sure how they regulate the people who are here out of convenience and may not like inclusivity stuff.

Of the two, the regular campground had stated accessibility information and the woke camp did not. The regular campground also had options for multiple languages if you preferred not to use English

And yes it’s not totally fair to compare a state run place with a for profit place as far as price but the point is the state park is the baseline and the for profit is meant to provide much more for the extra price. That’s why people go to KOA, it’s about as expensive as this place but you also get a ton of cool extra amenities you wouldn’t get at a state park run campground

I feel like “inclusive” now is like with weddings, where you can charge twice as much for the same thing so long as you put that word there. You can say a place is inclusive, and put up whatever the newest pride flag is and a Black Lives Matter poster and charge people twice as much and then that’s it, that’s all you have to do. You say your cafe or book shop or clothes are inclusive and now you charge even more because people want to support inclusive places

The sounds of abundant chatter from customers and the shuffle of footsteps from workers could be heard. It was a busy day at the Mostro Lounge. The point-card system you proposed was now being implemented and based on the large crowd inside the campus cafe, it certainly attracted a lot of students.

By reaching a certain number of points via orders, customers may redeem a free consultation with the manager — namely the one and only Azul Ashengrotto, Housewarden of Octavinelle known for his ability to make any wish or desire come true.

Who wouldn't be drawn to that kind of opportunity?

After hearing about the new promotional offer, your friends immediately placed in their orders to start collecting points which delighted Azul as he thanked them for their prompt orders. Your friends cheerily walked away to take a seat while Jade and Floyd went to where they were assigned and started to work. But you? You stayed right where you were. Azul then turned to you.

"What about you? Are you not going to order something?" He asked confusedly.

"Nope. I'm happy the place is packed but that means you'll have your work cut out for you, right? So let me help! The more hands to help, the better!" You said enthusiastically.

Azul protested, wanting for you to just relax and dine with your friends yet you insisted on helping around, showing him that bright smile of yours. You started to walk away to start taking someone's order when he suddenly held your hand and pulled you back to him, surprising you.

"Wait," Azul said, his cerulean eyes boring into your (e/c) ones. As you stared back, you took the chance to appreciate the beautiful shade of blue orbs looking at you.

"Yes?" You asked. "I still have some energy so I really don't mind helping out if that's what you're worried about. Oh! Or if it's money, you don't have to pay me back either."

"Nonsense! I can't have you work and not reimburse you," Azul retorted. He opened his mouth to continue speaking but a staff member was calling for his attention. Most probably matters related to the lounge.

"Just go. I'll be okay," you reassured him with a smile. "I've already worked here a few times before so it'll be fine. Let me help you."

Azul sighed. "You're not going to give up, are you? ...fine. But we'll talk later," he said, still speaking in a businessman-like manner, though you couldn't help but think that there was a hint of.. softness to it?

You nodded and hummed in agreement. You were about to start working but you couldn't leave yet.

You're still holding my hand. I wonder why. I wonder about a lot of things.

"Azul?" You called him softly.

Azul had a dazed look in his eyes and so you squeezed his hand once more. He then noticed he was still holding onto your hand. "Ah! Right, of course," he said before reluctantly letting go and clearing his throat. "Ehem. My apologies." You could see tinge of pink on his cheeks.

"It's alright. Don't worry," you giggled.

The two of you then set off to do some work. Fast forward the time and now Mostro Lounge is finally closed. After the last customers have left, you felt the tiredness seeping in. You sat down on the nearest couch and let out a sigh of relief, closing your eyes to rest. Your friends have already left together with your dorm mates, Yuu and Grim, who were called in by Headmage Crowley for whatever reason, unfortunately. You were thinking about today's events when a smooth, calm voice rang in your ears.

"I see the day has worn you out," someone said. Your eyes sprang open in surprise.

It was Azul. Still looking as handsome as always with that crisp dorm uniform. His confident aura that commands such power. Those lips that curve into a teasing smile. And the eyes. Oh, those ocean-hued eyes! You could stare at them all day long.

You're so charming. I find a lot of things about you attractive. I wonder.. what do you think of me? Am I attractive too?

It's only been a few hours but you honestly missed him already. Although you saw him while serving customers with their orders, stolen glances and subtle smiles were sadly not enough for you who craved his presence.

I wonder.. Did you miss me? I missed you. I'm sorry if I'm clingy. I just like being with you.

You couldn't muster a reply, too busy and lost in your thoughts as you stared at him.

Azul spoke again. "Too tired to even answer me, sweetheart?" He teased.

You blushed at his words. Particularly, that one word. Azul only addresses you by that nickname when the two of you are alone, or out of earshot from others. Even though he's been calling you that for some time now, you still blush every time he calls you by that term. He seemed to take delight in making your face flush pink. If only it meant more than just a teasing from a friend.

You let out a chuckle, trying to hide that feeling in your chest and ignoring the heat on your face. "Ehehe~ I guess I am feeling a bit tired. I've never seen the lounge have that many customers before."

"This is good news, of course," Azul exclaimed. "We made three times our usual profit. All in but a day's work! Your suggestion has definitely made Mostro Lounge even more successful. Now, shall we continue our conversation from earlier?"

You and Azul were now seated side by side on a comfortable leather couch inside a different room. Lots of books were propped on bookshelves and his desk was neatly piled with contracts and other paperworks. Behind his desk stood the entrance to his private vault. Soft, wavering lights from the aquarium gleamed across the room. This was Azul's office, also known as the VIP Room. You've been here a number of times before so it provided a sense of familiarity and tranquility to you. This place was also witness to some small but special moments you had with the cecaelia.

I wonder.. Did you think those moments were special too?

As you were reliving some memories, Azul's voice pulled you out of your trance as he offered you some tea. You thanked him and sipped on the warm beverage, he discussed what he was offering in exchange for the work you did for the lounge. You reasoned out that he didn't have to but Azul insisted that he give something back to you in return. In the end, you just accepted his "payment". Seeing as he's still in the give-and-take mindset.

You then enjoyed a scrumptious meal together with Azul and the Leech brothers. It was a delightful dinner, to be honest. Although most people probably thought the trio to be.. Suspicious? Shady? Terrifying, even? They could also be very nice and fun to be with. You enjoyed their company.

After finishing, you decided it was time to leave since it was starting to get late. You bid them your thanks and farewell. "I'll see you guys tomorrow! Goodnight!"

You were now heading back to Ramshackle Dorm. The peace of the night made you recall today's memories. The trip to the museum. Your heart-to-heart talk with Azul. Helping out at the lounge. Dinner with friends. It was really a nice day, and as you strolled along the path, your mind couldn't help but think. You did wonder a lot, after all.

I wonder.. do you feel the same way as I do?

I just feel the necessity because I'm part of the LGTBI+ community (I'm not sure if I've spell that right I always get it twisted) I'm part of the + part! (Also known as the usually forgotten) And I'm actually a double A like the batteries !

But you might ask, what's a double A Mai?

It's a term I invented right now! Just to refer to the aroace people, like me!

But... what is aroace?

Aroace is the shortened way of spelling aromantic and asexual, and we consider aroace people when they feel none or low attraction romantically and sexually

But that's impossible! Everyone loves people, are you psychopaths?!

Wrong! You can love people if you're aroace, or just aromantic, or maybe you're only asexual. There's plenty ways of love, but most people tend to mix it up, you can date someone and none of you want sex out of it (Wich should be more normalized, sex isn't everything in this life), or you could date someone and only want sex out of that person! Okay I bet that is the one you're more used to, but there are other types, for example there's platonic love, that's the one you have with your friends, and there's also the attraction one, that's the one you feel when you like the looks of someone. I could keep going on with the types of loves, but it's better If you get at least the simple idea.

I still don't get it, so you guys don't date people?

Once again, wrong! We can date people, because as I said before not all of us feel zero affection, I'm going to focus on the aroace spectrum because I'm on it, but it can also apply to only asexual or only aromantic . So okay let's put like the romantic love is sized in percentages, most people would have an 80% 70%, but in my case it'd be more of a 5ish %

So Mai, do you not love people?

I do not love the way most people do, but I can assure you that my platonic love is also stronger than yours. But I'll talk of that later. I have a 5%, but some aromantic people have a 20%, and you probably don't understand what that means right? It means they can fall in romantic love, but is harder for them, in most of the cases they need to have a strong bond with that other person to even think about something happening! Everyone got it? (If not just send me an ask 😉) In the ace spectrum it's the same but applied with sex, in my case I feel 0% attraction, when most people is 80% (I'd dare to say higher since our society is so overly sexualized) and I'd dare to say this case is tricky, because not everyone consider the same things sexual and feels good with it, in my case I can't handle kisses (in the mouth, neck or any other areas but the cheeks), holding hands feels uncomfy and obviously any type of sex is a no no. But there's some people that maybe have a 5% and feel like yes to kisses, or that have more than a 5 and like sex when they have a proper bond. In this case I like to show the 3 types of asexuals to me, the disgusted one (me), the unaffected one, and the confidence one.

Those names are tricky, I don't get them

Calm,calm I'm going to explain them. So the disgusted one, this one is easy to me because I'm part of it, and I think is the one most infantilized, and basically we feel disgusted by sexual activities, in my case I'm totally fine reading about it if it's on a book or like that, but the moment is me the one put on a situation like that I feel disgusted, you probably will think that happens to everyone when you don't like the person, but the thing is that is not the person but the action, so things like masturbation at least to me is a nono, but there's plenty of asexuals that can do it, after all it's a very big spectrum, and the best you can do if your partner is ,is asking their boundaries and RESPECT THEM!

So now there's the one I call unaffected, these people are indifferent to it, they're the one that will do it if their partner wish it, although in many cases they won't get any of it. I'm sad I can go on more on this one, but the truth is I don't know as much as someone who is it, so if there's anyone there who would want to explain their experience, I'm all ears!

And... the confidence one, this are the people that won't feel like sex unless they have a good bond. This type makes me feel sad, because it's one that I consider is less respected, you can see it all over media how our culture tends to force this people to have sex when they're not ready.

It must be fine being aroace, right? You guys don't have as many prejudices as other parts of the community

Guess what! Wrong! Although being asexual can be pretty good seen in women, when it happens on their counterpart, men, society don't accept it, because this world we live in is happy when women wait for marriage for sex, but expect men to have had sex by the age of 15

And the funny part is that when you use aromanticism, is the exact opposite, Is good on men because they're supposed to be strong and over those feelings, but lord have mercy if you're a woman and you don't expect to date anyone ever, people expect women to be just for love, it's pretty easy to see that, since every time you see a woman in media, in most of the occasion they do everything for love, specially romantic love.

Well that was all I could think of, but if anyone wishes to ask something or to learn something, just ask me! I'm happy to help! And it's fine if you aren't sure of what you're, I started thinking I was bisexual, turns out I wasn't that wrong, I do feel the same for everyone, the thing is that I don't feel anything! (Romantically and sexually)

These fanon Tim Drake takes/fanfictions that paint him as the ultimate victim during the Morrrison era were always annoying, but if you're looking for a character to write fix it fanfictions about because they got abandoned by their family when they went through a lot of losses and lost themselves in the process, ran away from everything and only had the batfamily try to bring them back home ages after they had already run away and only after first blaming the kid and then not prioritizing bringing that kid back, then Damian from 2018 to 2020 is right there?

Where are my 1000+ fanfictions about that?

I was falling asleep and I had a funny thought about Luffy stealing an armload of library books for Robin. 1) because that's exactly the kinda thing he would do and 2) it’s not necessary, it’s a freakin’ library, but he heard the words “check out limit” and thought, “You can’t put a limit on my friend or what I would do for them.”

It gets funnier bc stealing an armload of books off the shelf all at once can only really end in two disastrous ways: 1) either he drops half of them as he trying to run or 2) he's trying to take them off the top shelf, and he’s about to knock himself out with about a thousand books crashing into him

If anyone's wondering why I want the info on all the cool animatronics from the books...

First: They're cool. I just think some of these guys are neat! There's a seadragon okay?? And sharks!! And that's cool as fuck!!

Second: Very relevant to Meteors AU! Meteors also gives me perfect opportunities to explore a world outside of the Plex, which can and does include other Fazbear locations. If there's a cool location or animatronic concept in the books, I can explore them through Roxy and Cassie's eyes in my own way. Like the penguins mentioned in Submechanophobia? Eddie can be repairing one that Roxy snags from the workshop to make friends while no one's looking. Felix/Sly the shark? Can get Roxy more comfortable with water stuff. Tiger Rock? Another access point to the horrors that Fazbear have committed.

And through all of this, Roxy has a unique perspective. She knows what Fazbear is like. She knows how it feels to be a fully aware animatronic. She knows what it's like to be expected to show a marketable appearance and to struggle to do so. She knows the fear of the consequences for mistakes that cost the company money. She can tell when an animatronic is acting of their own volition and not their strict programming. The question is, can they tell? Do they know what she was? What she is now? What she's trying to do when she talks to them one on one? Would they answer her if she asked how they're really doing?

And would they appreciate her offering a safe place to hide at the Pizzaplex should they ever need it?

I like the idea of this but it was a bit all over the place and I feel like the relationship development wasn’t great #the MC spends most of the book being pretty horrible to a very timid well-meaning autistic girl who isn’t mean back. #(like mutual antagonism can feel more even yknow?) Like yes this is the focus of their character development - we know why they’re like thi #the fact that they’re mean to her is very much addressed; they apologise eventually; the author is autistic and making intentional choices. #but......they apologise but then are mean again over & over. it keeps happening and it’s just not fun to read when it’s 80% of the book? #them being nice to her is a way smaller part and I just don’t really buy the love at the end. #I think the author’s strength is definitely in real world settings where it can just focus on the characters #- I feel like this kind of silly anachronistic fantasy world needs to be leaned into a bit more? #I also felt like Tillie was quite self hating (or: only focusing on the negatives) about being autistic and aroace with the MC there to tel #her that no it's ok! Of course that’s a realistic experience but I find when it’s so succinct like that it feels really….reductive; idk. #pet peeve i keep running into #I did kinda enjoy the detail of ‘I’m ace siren’s won’t effect me’ *immediately flings self overboard after hearing them* lmao #but yeah I feel like some sections of this could have been cut out and a couple things expanded on and I might have enjoyed it more

the most infuriating thing in a book is when there's someone who's constantly lying about things they said to the main character, things that happened and stuff like that, and it causes problems. and yet the main character doesn't at any point think to use their fucking smartphone (that they definitely own because it has been mentioned several times) to record any conversations they have.

like I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. at least write in a reason why they can't do that (phone is broken and they can't get a new one for some reason, the other person keeps surprising them in some way that makes it impossible to start recording, they can't find their phone because the other person hid it, etc.) or that the recordings are gone when they want to use them as proof (phone gets destroyed later, other person deletes recordings, etc.) or literally any reason why they don't think to do it.

security cameras are also a thing that I'm pretty sure everyone knows you can just buy for your own home at this point. they're not expensive. they're not hard to get.

honestly if this happens for let's say the fifth time and it's causing you massive problems, maybe... just maybe... you're a bit of an idiot for not at least trying to get some sort of proof.

I’ve just realised another reason why Edward Cullen is an idiot. He acts like provoking the Volturi is the only surefire way to die, but surely he could’ve had a similar effect by provoking some random nomads, and brought way less danger on the rest of the family? Sure, it would’ve taken longer, but he wouldn’t have had to go all the way to Italy or deal with a possible refusal, or Aro’s creepiness. Idk, just seems like a better way
