Lackadaisy (Animated PILOT - Webcomic.) Lackadaisy has its own Animated PILOT on YouTube, and a Webcomic you can find on the official lackadaisy website! The series is about a webcomic set in Prohibition-era St. Louis, Missouri. It chronicles the events of a cast of anthropomorphic cats as they struggle to keep the titular speakeasy afloat.

Murder Drones (Animated series) Murder Drones has recently gained popularity, but is still a small project. You find it on youtube. On a post-apocalyptic exoplanet, worker drones struggle to survive by hiding from rogue robots called Murder Drones

Epithet Erased (Animated series - book) you can find the first 7 episode Animated on YouTube! Season 2, however, Is a book. based on the tabletop roleplay series Anime Campaign! With unique powers called epithets, and characters attempting to steal an amulet rumored to have the ability to take a person's epithet.

Lego Monkie Kid (Cartoon) The tale begins when an ordinary boy, Monkie Kid, finds Monkey King's legendary staff, and he becomes the chosen one. You can watch on PRIME VIDEO!

Recreyo (YouTube channel!) Oddly enough, I'm recommending a YouTube channel.. a Comedy podcast with a group of friends with trust issues are thrown into different chaotic scenarios where they have to survive by learning to trust each other.. or not.

I'm running out of ideas or media's so.. uh yeah guys you should watch those silly fnaf rps like Oddities or The Famous Films!!! There's more, but I don't know them all lol

EDIT ; The amazing digital circus is a new media too! Though, the fandom has grown largely. It's a animated pilot on YouTube, under the GlitchProductions channel. (creators of murder drones)

EDIT ; Spooky Month! Halloween is one of everyone's favorites, and so is October! I'm sure you've all heard of this show, made by Sr. pelo. Every year, near Halloween, a new episode for this series released! Last year, it grew huge in popularity.

That's a great question, let's go through some of the tags I use in this blog.

Also. This will be a bit long.

GENERAL TAGS

The most well known and used is ofc, #ryeblog ,which is given to any post I reblog. It comes from "rye" and "reblog". Another interesting fact is that when I reblog many posts in a short time, I call it a "ryeblitz" (ryeblog + blitz [German for lightning).

For original text-based posts of mine, the tag is #handful of grains, which comes from the fact that I am Rye; but also because originally there was a tag called #sack of grain that never got used and was intended for large text-based original posts.

Images and videos get #pics and flicks, except if these are art. If the art was posted by the artist it gets #art of them and if it's someone else's art it gets #art of those.

#letters to rye will be the tag used in this post, as it is for the asks I answer.

Must be understood that this system isn't 100% reliable. If I don't have a tag for a media because I have no knowledge of it or even interest; it won't get a tagged or have a tag.

Imagine this, a fanart featuring characters from the shows A, B, C and D. I only have tags for B and C. Only appliable media tags are #B and #C.

This is why you can find stuff like few Chainsaw Man fanart in my blog, but a tag for Chainsaw Man doesn't actually exist. When I reblog Out of Touch Thursday, I don't do it with a tag for the Lucky Star anime. Characters don't have tags in my system.

TAGS THAT USE TOKI PONA WORDS

#pilin This Toki Pona word describes many concepts, like feelings, emotions, the heart in its both physical and emotional form. However, in this blog, this tag shall only be used for the heart (organ or not) and heart shapes and heart-shaped things.

#kili This word describes fruits and vegetables, all the edible parts of a plant. I also use this tag for stuff made with kili, like French fries, jam and jelly or milkshakes.

#mun This word doesn't just describe the Moon but also all night-sky objects and space objects. This tag replaced the now abandoned #astronomy as stuff like a blanket with sun and moon motifs or the fanart of a furry on the Moon aren't quite related with the science of space.

#kala This word describes fish and all the aquatic animals. Axolotls, whales, jellyfish and crabs may not be fish, but they sure are kala.

#pan As a Spanish speaker you probably have realised this word is for bread. That's right, it's for grains and all grain products. Stuff that is pan but not bread: tortilla, beer, peanut butter, crackers, communion wafers, tejuino. This tag isn't for pansexuality, Tumblr just colours it like that.

#pipi The word for insects and all the little bugs and crechurs, so it includes stuff like spiders and worms.

#waso The word for birds, flying animals and winged animals.

#soko The word for fungi. This tag replaced #mycology.

#akesi The word for reptiles. This tag isn't used for "non-cute animals" as the original meaning of the word expressed and was corrected in 2021.

#kijetesantakalu The word to describe procyonids and musteloids, like ferrets, racoons and tanukis. For the non-Toki Pona speakers. The reason why this word is long and very specific is because it's an April Fools joke that just got too popular.

#in front of them sensors I wears glasses, I like characters that wear them too. So this tag is for that. It also applies to stuff like sport/lab goggles, sunglasses and other eyewear.

#the florist's For flowers. The name is as in a flower shop, just like the butcher's or the chemist's.

#city made of light For photographs of, or art depicting urban light during the night. The night scared us, so we killed it; some beautiful examples of this massacre to our health are Times Square, the Las Vegas strip or Hong Kong neon capital of the East.

#KÖT For cats! The word "köt" isn't for cat in any language btw.

#i do the squeaking For ratas and mice. Tag name based on that one post with the mousegirl house wife.

I don't tag furries for some reasons: First is, what is a furry? Are Moomins furry? Are Sonic characters furries? Furries' opinion on what is furry and what is not a large broad spectrum of thoughts. Second is so people don't block furries from me. If you don't wanna see furries, go and try and see how many tags you need to block to see none, and you will still see some cuz not everyone tags. Also, furries don't get tagged any of the animal tags.

#boyfriendposting Those posts that are like "yeah, sorry that your boyfriend..."

#fake posts Those posts that are made to look like many and have some theme.

#fauxnetics People trying to spell pronunciation using non-standarized methods like the IPA, usually just causing more confusion. Example: "How do you pronounce Chara? Car-uh, Care-uh, Chair-uh or Char-uh?"

#illinois chess Games (doesn't have to be chess, but if chess, funky non-standard chess) [usually board games] with strange setting or rules, impossible to understand. Tag named after this thing from 20020.

#present as the past from the future Meme/joke posts describing modern/contemporany history or the current world as how we speak of the past. Example: "Cowboys were a sort of itinerant warrior class common in Meiji-era Texas."

I've been watching youtube web series

So I decided to compile a list and talk about them.

Some of these will have spoilers.

All these can be found for free, either on youtube or on the creator's website.

Starting off with some animated series:

-RWBY: "Story follows Ruby and her friends getting into Beacon Academy, a school where they learn how to hunters and huntresses to protect the world against Grimms, but their journey isn't as easy as promised". Probably one of Rooster Teeth's most famous and popular series. The show's premise and the worldbuilding is absolutely fantastic. Though it could do with more diversity, I love the characters, and I enjoyed the series overall. It is still ongoing (as of writing this) and I will admit, I liked the first few seasons more than the most recent ones. The animation did truly get better as the show progressed, though!

-Camp Camp: "Max is a cynical child disillusioned with humanity stuck in a fraudulent summer camp with the ever so happy Camp Counselor David, whom he hates with a passion, though the latter has made it his mission to find a way to make the kid like camping". Staying in the same Rooster Teeth realm, another one of their animated shows! Again, love the premise, and the show lent itself to some pretty serious and emotional scenes. Suffering from... white Christians think they can make holocaust jokes and be funny. Really, the amount of anti-semitism in this show is worrying.

The characters (save... child Hitler) are very engaging and it's been interesting to see them grow and influence each other. And also whatever is going on with the Quartermaster. The magical shit wasn't expected, but... Sure I accept it.

Technically still ongoing, though (as of writing this) there is no news of production.

CW: Dark humor, as stated before lots of antisemitism, some F-word fake-outs, implied sexual contents, a squirrel, as well as a hamster, dies.

(More mature(?) show. Maybe 16+. Seasons 1-3 available on YouTube with a wide arrange of subtitles, all seasons for free on Rooster Teeth.com with eng subs available)

-Bee and Puppycat: "Bee is an adult who doesn't want to grow up. Along with her companion, Puppycat, she goes on various adventures taking the odd jobs to make a quick buck, while all her friends are growing up and moving on around her". Going over to Cartoon Hangover for a wonderful surrealist show that hit me in the heart and had me questioning my existence. It's episodic at first, I guess to let you get a feel for the characters and for the overall universe. Though I don't usually enjoy that, it really does come together in the end.

(First season is available on Cartoon Hangover's YouTube with wide arrange of subtitles available, a second season is scheduled to come out sometime in 2022 on Netflix.)

-Epithet Erased: "In a world where a percentage of the population is born with an Epithet that allows them to achieve great fits, Molly finds herself trapped in a Museum as it's being robbed by two different people with only her Dumb Epithet to protect her. What's so special about this amulet anyway?" I feel like everyone and their mothers knows about this show by JelloApocalypse. If you like beautiful animations and smooth movements... This show is not for you. The animation style will put some people off, but the story is engaging and the characters extremely endearing!

Technically still ongoing, though (as of writing this) there is no news of production.

-Confinement: "Connor, or SCP-XXXXX, is unable to die. The researchers at the facility are happy to exploit him as a D-Class, convincing Connor he's one of them, regardless of the fact he doesn't hold the same freedoms". Do you like SCP? Have you always wanted to see them in a more constructed story? Well this (as of writing this) unfinished series is for you! Seeing Connor go against all those creatures of varying humanity is truly engaging!

And now onto some Live Action:

-Platoon of Power Squadron: "Four superpowered humans walk into an apartment. The start of a joke? Nope. That of a beautiful... Friendship? Well Jonas, Virginia, Sebastian, and Donald live together as they learn that their powers are not quite as they seem". The reason I started this journey in the first place. If you like rooting for the protagonists even though the protagonists are objective jackasses this is the perfect story for you! Not a single one of them is actually a good person, but the villain of this story is even worse. I love how they approached the powers and the universe itself has good worldbuilding.

CW: Lots of references to and lots of attempted sexual assault, instances of mind control,

-LUCIDS: I can't even give a small summary without spoiling the whole thing. It's about dreams and that's just about all I can say. An absolute trip. The start truly confused me and I just about dropped it, but getting through the tiktok-made prologue was absolutely the right decision.

CW: Real unreality shit. Lots of derealization.

-2Kawaii4Comfort: "4 Anime fans prepare themselves to go to an anime convention. A fight breaking through the group causes unforeseen events". Got real serious real fast. The cringe is strong with this one. Really hits you with the ugly side of anime fans. The shitty people that make it bad and take the fun away for everyone else. Suffers from... having slurs in it for narrative reasons.

CW: N-word and F-word usage, talk of mental issues (mainly psycosis), sexual harrassment.

(All episodes on YouTube, unfortunately unfinished, missing just the finale, though in my opinion, it works anyway. Eng subtitles, as well as some others, available)

-The Wayward Guide For The Untrained Eye: "A set of fraternal twins are the creators and producers of The Wayward Guide podcast, a podcast that follows the more unusual stories from all over the country. One day they're offered a story that at first they want to ignore, but as their boss gets interested in it they find themselves in a small town, their worldview shattered" My least favorite (as of writing this) of the whole bunch. I don't know, usually this is my shit, but this story really fell flat. A little too quick, a little too absurd for how much it took itself seriously.

Day 52: Epithet Erased Style

Congratulations to jelloapocalypse and the rest of the crew behind Epithet Erased and Prison of Plastic.

Thought it would be fun to draw Grumbot in this style and for fun I grabbed a random word generator and generated a few all at once to say ‘if one of these fits him, I might say he has an epithet’ and record showed up and felt fitting. The second image is based on the promo art the epithet erased twitter was showing off.

But yeah, the first season is a 8 episode long thing which you can find on Youtube on Jello’s channel and as of today, Prison of Plastic is released as a book with an audio book version with the voice actors. They weren’t able to do a show again because it is expensive, but that’s another reason to support them! (Jello has also said it will not be animated again unless some miracle happens, but basically, the answer is no as it was a nightmare in production.)

Now I may not post tomorrow bc apparently the audio book itself is 11 hours long, but I’m also going to try and read at the same time since it was mentioned that some of the jokes work better as written words.

Hi there everyone! I've started a new tumblr account and I'm basically gonna be here to post art and try and make more friends who are into the same niche things that I'm into!

Here's a bit about myself:

My name is Quincy, but that is subject to change. This is because I only found out pretty recently that I'm non binary and at the moment I'm just testing the waters when it comes to names and such.

Cartoons to watch if you have watched all the popular shows out right now part 2

This is a part 2 to this post , but as a reminder this is for the people who have already watched shows like Owl House, Amphibia, Infinity Train, She-Ra, Avatar ETC. This for when you have literally nothing new to watch in terms of animation.

I highly debated putting Hilda on the list since it is fairly well known if you dig deep enough but i’m putting it on here anyway. If you like cozy shows with a fair bit of action, then you’ll love Hilda. Its about a girl who moves from the magical countryside to the city Trolberg where she might still encounter beasts of all sorts. You can watch this on Netflix.

Summer Camp Island is in the same realm of Hilda and City of Ghosts, its a cozy show about a magical summer camp run by witches. Its adorable and a good thing to watch in pajamas while drinking a hot beverage if you ask me. Its has a fair bit of lore but from my viewing, it doesn’t really rely on it to be entertaining and enjoyable. You can watch this on HboMAX

Now I thought Welcome to the Wayne got cancelled after its pilot, but apparently it got two seasons that just went unspoken about?? Its weird because I remember it got a lot of attention by its interesting premise. Its about three kids who try to find out the secrets of the apartment building they live in, encountering agents and creatures as they venture through the building. You can watch this on Amazon prime and Paramount +

For the people who mainly watch cartoons on streaming services, you guys are missing out on the independent cartoons on youtube! Like Epithet Erased, which is a god tier show in terms of writing and comedy. I love it to bits and holds a special place in my heart 💕. Its about a world where the majority of people are given words attached to their soul called Epithets and those Epithets give them certain powers depending on the word. But those words can range from Sundial and Barrier, to Dumb and Soup. Meanwhile there’s a chase for Arsen Amulet, which has the power to steal the Epithet from its user. I can’t recommend this show enough! You can watch this on JelloApocalypse’s channel, the full series can be found on his channel.

All Saints Street is a show that comes from China, its about a demon named Neil Bowman who decides to leave hell in order to experience the human world, so he decides to go live in China. He lives in Beijing with his roomates who are all sorts of mythical beasts, meanwhile a darkness looms in the shadows. If you don’t mind subtitles then this is the show for you, you can watch the whole show on PercyDan’s youtube channel.

Aggretsuko is the perfect show if your looking for something more mature but doesn’t use sex and swear jokes constantly. The show focuses on a red panda named Retsuko, an office worker in japan who has to put up with a sexist boss and annoying coworkers. She vents out her fury through death metal karaoke! Both the sub and dub are so good, so either which one you prefer, you’re good! You can watch this on netflix

Arlo The Alligator Boy is a pop musical movie about an Alligator boy named Arlo in search of his father. On his journey he meets new friends and maybe even family. This is a good show if like pop musicals (there all original songs) and cute characters. Then this is movie for you! You can watch the continuation series and movie on Netflix.

Forgotten Indigo is a series about figuring out some bullshit in the city of Indigo.

It's actual play livestreams and vods, using a hyper-flexible tabletop rpg system that the GM made called Windrose.

You can find the whole series and some spin-offs and add-ons on Stabbyness Twitch, as well as 13 episodes and a few spin-offs on the Stabbyness Youtube (it's still getting re-uploaded).

It's kinda hard to find a way to pitch this series, to be honest. So instead, I'll pitch the player characters (the ones that you know about right away, as well as one that I think is pretty important)

Cassius- Okay so this is a weird pull but uh. Disco Elysium? Fucked up amnesiac detective? Same concept but entirely different execution, far less fucked up, far more polite.

Martha Teach- G. Guess what her job is? Yeah I don't really have to tell you her deal, except that holy shit she's so poggers. She's my mom dude. (That's a joke a lot of the cast makes but she. Actually reminds my of my mom sbchahfya) She's such a stressed out workaholic woman.

Beretta Pietro- Yes she's named after a gun. This is intentional. In her spin-off series, Beretta's Endless Summer Time, she also gets called Glocktua which is really funny considering a later character. Anyways she's my favorite character by far, her family Invented The Gun and hasn't shut up about it ever since. She goes on lots of dates, meticulously schedules everything, and her character's Twist fucked me up so badly because I didn't watch her session zero. She's easily my favorite character.

Selyf (I forgot his last name :[ ) : good boy!!! Good owl boy!!! Holy shit dude. He just wants to go to school.

The Champion of Noctua (AKA Noctua AKA Nocti) : an NPC, technically, but she's listed as a player character on the reference sheet Discord server so. Yeah anyways she's a Slug and she has prosthetics on all four of her limbs and she wasn't even supposed to befriend the party but! Here we are! She won the popularity poll and has been non-canonically launched into space via gazebo. (If nothing else, please watch the popularity contest battle royale. It's so out of character (intentionally so) but it's so funny. Ooc Teach made my side hurt with laughter. It's not going where you think it's going at all.)

AAAAA but yeah I spent 15 minutes typing this. I actually watched the first official session of Forgotten Indigo live when it first happened. I didn't watch the session zeroes and was so confused (watch the session zeroes. The middle two if nothing else, please the context is so important)

Forgotten Indigo isn't going to be for everyone, but like. There are so many other shows across Stabbyness and SurpriseroundRPG. Want JJBA but cyberpunk? Boom, Carbon Interface on Stabbyness. Want JJBA but with a bunch of depressed people? Bang, Cheer Up on SurpriseroundRPG. Want TV show Epithet Erased if it was just. So fucking wild and also weirdly dark?? Red Stich Report on SurpriseroundRPG is new, only two episodes, and it's so good. It's actually a pretty good jumping-on point if you want to start watching a show live. (I've noticed that a lot of shows I liked are DMed by a Specific Person and that person is Lamp. She's so cool. She's a romance option in a dating sim called Pizza Game.)

Ooh! Thanks for asking! A Working Title is an Epithet Erased TTS AU!

Epithets are essentially a word connected to a person's soul that gives them special powers (based on their stats. It comes from a TTRPG). Not everyone has one.

The whole thing is sort of a race between 3 groups (though that gets muddled) from Corona to the Dark Kingdom to get a powerful artifact that steals epithets. They all have different reasons for wanting it.

There will be lore of Saporia, themes of corrupt justice systems, eugenics, discrimination, and much more!

I have made stat cards for some of the major players (which you can find on my blog under #a working title and will be editing more) in the theme of the show "Epithet Erased", which you can watch on Youtube! It is hilarious and only 7 episodes. I highly recommend it. (I also made an AMV for that show if you just want an idea of the vibe).

“BHA if it was even wackier and more wholesome” an Epithet Erased Review

(The Writer is aware that they are writhing this way after the series’s release date and what the writer calls the ‘hyped up’ period in which large quantities of fans and watchers will gush about how great/bad a show is by frequently posting thoughts and meme material on social media within a week’s time after the show has been aired.)

(The Writer is writing this in an attempt to polish their writing skills and hopefully have something to add to their skill portfolio, and now for the review proper)

Epithet Erased is a 7-episode animated Indie show from the whimsical mind of Brendan Blader who has an online presence on Youtube through his Channel Jelloapocaylpse, where he uploads an assortment of animations and animated critiques about various cartoons and anime. But that’s not really important right now.

Epithet Erased stands out from the rest of the animated Indie darlings by being unique in it’s animation style… which is to say it uses less animation. Indeed,with the exception of the shows opening and a handful of scenes in the shows runtime (courtesy of the fine animators from powerhouse studios), Most of show’s format resembles a visual novel or dating sim.

Most surprisingly, this format works very well, and it’s complemented by it’s cast, story and characters that all combines together into something that is truly worth a piece of your time.

The World of Epithet Erased takes place in a world much like our own except that a portion of the world’s population are born with superpowers known as Epithets. (Think My Hero Academia without the focus of institutionalized heroism).

Molly Blyndeff, our initially unwilling protagonist of the show has fallen asleep inside a museum and wakes up to find herself involved in heist of dastardly proportions full of danger, mystery, and heart to heart sewing circles.

Writing wise, the story of Epithet Erased strikes a fine line between wacky and interesting by presenting a great story that would honestly feel right at home with any cartoon television network.

It’s also full of the sort of tongue and cheek humor that tickles that funny bones of millenials who have a refined taste for smart jokes and existential nihilism. Jokes that would not have hit as hard if not for the delivery made by the show’s characters.

Like a box of crayons, the shows cast are a colour bunch characters each with their own charming personality which brought to life by show’s great voice talents. From Molly’s timid yet adorable personality played by seasoned anime dubber Dani Chambers to the unrelentingly loyal and often times dumb muscle that is Indus Tarabella played seasoned non-anime dubber Anthony Sardinha.

Back to the presentation format, as mentioned before, the show uses a visual novel sort of look (minus the text bubbles, but you can turn on the captions for funny lines of narration). Characters are limited to full body sprites that have a set amount of expressions that change depending on what character is saying.

For movement, character “move” their sprite forms from one place to the next or they’re reduced to small portraits on a map when conveying large distances. No fancy shot angles here, no siree.

The latter might sound more like something out of a tabletop game rpg and you’d be right. Blader has admitted that the idea for Epithet Erased came from a modified Dungeons and Dragons that he ran with friends.

The music of Epithet Erased is nothing to scoff at either. True it does not have access to an entire orchestra at their disposal like a certain absorbent yellow sea creature. But what the show does have in the music department is rather catchy to the ear. Such as the various character’s theme music and the show’s outro: “We’re great at crime.”.

In conclusion and if you mind my repeating myself, Epithet Erased is an unconventional animated show that’s a clearly a labour of love what with it’s stellar cast, delightful music and wonderful writing that leaves the audience wanting for more.

Although the show does not a have a definitive release date, or even a production date for that matter for season 2. Blader has a patreon account that fans could contribute to support him and his hopes of getting enough funds for another season.
