the thing about this z library thing is that I see small authors rejoicing in the fact that ppl can’t steal their books anymore bc they were “losing out on sales” and. this may be immoral to say? but I kinda don’t care

i know this is a movie based blog but do the mods have favourite horror books/authors? :)
Mod L: David Demchuk, Gemma Files, John Langan, Elizabeth Hand, Paul Tremblay, Anne Rice (unfortunately formative). There was a point when I would have included Caitlin Kiernan on this list, but they've unfortunately gone off the alt-right deep end, so . . . get their books from the library, if you get them at all.
Mod Z: *panics in learning disability* So, I guess I gotta tell u what my fave horror books are. I don’t really read much, embarrassingly so, but now the occasional horror classic is my one exception. I got started with a push from my dad back in 2022 to dive into Stephen King's work, and now I'm totally hooked! "Carrie" and "Christine" are total classics, and lately, I’ve started reading "Different Seasons" and "Two Dead Girls." Also, "Vampires Never Get Old", a vampire story compilation, is iconic, especially Schwab's "First Kill" – it's gay as fuck! "Squad" by Maggie Tokuda-Hall is a great graphic novel by Maggie Tokuda-Hall with similar vibes to Jennifer's Body, and just as gay. My taste is really all over the place, but if you’re like me, these reads are a must!
Mod Sus: *guilty look at all Stephen King books they've read* I could answer this so much easier if I had a better memory and/or access to my old library records. I tried to think of more books than Stephen King's and Rats by James Herbert, but I can't remember what everything I've read even though I used to read so much as a teen. Being chronically online has rotten my brain and ability to read adult literature. I should start from small and basics again to get back in touch with reading. R. L. Stine's Goosebumps works if you are having hard time getting into reading long texts and books, it a good warm-up.

Do you have any resources you reccomend for researching more about DID? Or like, key words to search for to find academic articles? Thanks!
i prefer to give people the tools do their own research more than anything else, so i'll start with that.
google scholar, zlibrary and openlibrary, as well as sci-hub.
i'm specifically linking zlibrary there because zlibrary has been taken down before, and there are now scam websites masquerading as the actual zlibrary to take advantage of people for things like bitcoin and phishing scams. there's one specific way to access zlibrary and to make an account if you don't have one, and it's through that link. ONLY trust that link. not zlib.io or zlib.is or any similar wrong urls. there's a list at the top of the *correct* website's page that'll show which domains are not trustworthy.
sci-hub is a website where you input the DOI (digital object identifier) into the website and if they have the paper being requested, they will give it to you to download, for free. the DOI can typically be found at the top of a page, but if you're on a computer, which WILL make this much easier, then you can just control+F and search DOI to find it more easily. older research may not have a DOI, don't be discouraged by that and ignore it if you can't find it on sci-hub or there's no DOI.
with that out of the way, i'll give you some papers and show you how to use them.
go into google scholar. the papers you should look for are titled something along the lines of "dissociative identity disorder - an empirical overview" and "examining 6 myths about dissociative identity disorder". just toss those, or even just "dissociative identity disorder", into the google scholar search and read them.
when you're done reading a paper, go into the references section of the paper and look at the references used. look for anything that seems interesting and copy and paste the name of that source material into sci-hub or z-library (usually it'll say if it's a book or an article). then read through that source material, go into the references section, rinse and repeat until your brain is huge and full of knowledge.
i personally have an external hard drive. of the many things i keep on there, my DID research library is one of them. i recommend keeping a USB to keep the research on, and most importantly:
don't forget to label and organize your files so you can search through them easily. personally i organize them in the following manner: ((shortened) title)-(author)-(year). makes it so much easier to sift through everything, just trust me.
hope that helps!

hey. hey you. are you a gen x or millenial or gen z artist.
even if you're not, have you been seeing a bunch of younger artists like half your age who seem like they're doing work better than you were at their age? maybe better than you are now?
Number 1, this is an ENTIRELY subjective question, but you may not be wrong!
younger kids may be better than you are, in whatever definition of the word you wanna use.
this is okay. really. it is.
you're not a bad artist if someone younger than you can draw "better" than you, but I also want to bring up something that I think nobody has really mentioned before:
kids these days have access to not only programs and technology that you did not, but a general library of knowledge that you didn't have access to, either.
how easy is it now to search for a shading tutorial?
how easy is it now to look for tutorials on effects and shading, on animation, on almost any damn niche art-related subject you can think of? and not just one tutorial, but several versions, a walkthrough, maybe a tutorial for different KINDS of shading?
how much rarer is it now to NOT find a tutorial for what you're looking for?
those who remember the old web and trying to do digital art pre-2010, do you remember how damn hard it was to find information on digital art? I REMEMBER.
I REMEMBER BECAUSE I HAD TO FIND AND CREATE SOME OF THOSE TUTORIALS MYSELF.
clip studio paint now has a function that, pretty decently, will auto-color images for you.
i started with photoshop elements like... 3.0? whatever was cheapest around 2004.
the newest versions of microsoft paint have as much, if not more options now. and that's just. a default program that comes with windows.
kids these days have it a LOT easier than us growing up on the old internet--and this is good!! this is SO SO GOOD! There are so many kids who now have access to creating art in ways that you or I never had! they have so much information at their fingertips to do amazing things with, things that us older web users had to find out by ourselves. sometimes, we even created those resources ourselves.
give yourself some credit. younger digital artists have a lot of advantages that we just plain did not have, growing up on the internet. you were pioneers. you had to make do with a wild, unknown and undiscovered space in digital art.
ngl, sometimes I do feel bitter, seeing what younger digital artists have access to these days that I literally dreamed about having when I was younger.
but that's how it's supposed to work. we helped make things as they are now. we put on those bulky, uncomfortable space suits so that the generations after us could build colonies on the moon.
cut yourself some slack. and see what new, wonderful things have been opened up to kids who would have never gotten these opportunities when we were growing up.
we had to learn a lot of stuff the hard way. but so too does that give us knowledge that younger generations might not have.
and in this way, we all make each other better.

The best drawing and digital art apps available for everyone in 2022
Drawing on paper with a traditional pen or pencil has a certain satisfying feel to it. But command+Z doesn't work when you need to delete mistakes. You can count on technology to help you out. With the best drawing apps on a portable device, artists and designers can make quick changes and iterations on the go.
Which of the top apps for digital drawing should you use?
If you're in the market for one of those amazing drawing apps, it's worth your time to do some research to find the best fit for your creative workflow before making a purchase. Some of the things that modern digital art can do and how it works may come as a pleasant surprise.
Here are the best—there's something for everyone!
Drawing apps For Beginners
Here are some easy apps for beginners. These are easy-to-use drawing apps. They have many resources and a large community to support them as they learn.
1. Procreate
This app runs on an iOS device and can be scary for a designer who is just starting out. Explore the Procreate forums for more information on how to use the program. Anyone interested in digital art can find a lot of resources online, such as tutorials and videos from very skilled artists. Check out the animation tool; it will give your projects a whole new dimension.
2. Adobe Photoshop Sketch
The app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This drawing program has been used by artists for years. Like other Adobe products, Photoshop Sketch has a beautiful interface that is also straightforward and easy to use. The brush panel on the left and the few design tools on the right make a large digital canvas for painting. If you're a fine artist looking to incorporate digital elements into your work, you'll love this app! It's made with you in mind, with streamlined features that let you focus on making art.
3. Adobe Illustrator Draw
This program is intended for the graphic designer who already uses other Adobe products. Adobe Illustrator Draw on the iPad makes it simple to transfer your work to an open Illustrator file using CC Libraries.
The app takes a minimalist approach to Adobe Photoshop Sketch, and it's gorgeous to look at, but the learning curve can be steep for those not used to working with design software. The good news is that users of any experience level can take advantage of the app's extensive tutorial platform and active community. It works on both iOS and Android.
4. Adobe Fresco
There are some unique features in this program, such as live brushes that can be dragged across the screen, stunning vector graphics, and 3D-looking blending effects. Adobe Fresco can be sent to Photoshop for more advanced editing, and its simple interface makes it good for designers and illustrators who want to get their ideas down quickly without getting bogged down by extra features.
Digital painting and drawing have never been easier than with this beginner-friendly app. You'll need an Adobe ID to access it; it's available on the App Store and Windows.
5. Inspire Pro
An excellent way to get started with digital drawing is with Inspire Pro. The interface is easy to use and gives you access to a wide range of powerful editing and design tools. This app is a strong contender for the best drawing app on the App Store due to its quick rendering times. This app is designed for Apple's iOS and provides a basic set of tools for digital drawing.
6. Pixelmator Pro
Even though this app is more of an "image editor," it can still be considered one of the best digital drawing apps. It can add different effects to text layers, use vector graphics, change colors, and make clipping masks. This little app can make a graphic designer's or photographer's wildest dreams come true.
Pixelmator Pro is a photo editing app for iOS devices that, like Lightroom and Photoshop, focuses on providing a variety of options for graphic design.
7. Assembly
This app is classified as a "Mobile Vector Design" application. Assembly comes with elegant shape packs and a lot of other useful tools that would be welcome additions to the toolbox of any graphic designer or illustrator. The minimal design makes the most of the available canvas area. There is a sizable group of talented people already familiar with the app who are eager to share their knowledge, and there are also some entertaining tutorials available to help you get started.
With this iOS app, you can make vector graphics and use shapes to make illustrations.
Top-Rated Design Apps for Serious Artists
These apps have more features and are easy to use in a professional setting. People who have never dabbled in design before may find the learning curve more challenging, but the payoff is substantial once they do.
8. Autodesk Sketchbook
This is the app to look into if you need to create technical drawings or focus on minute details. It can scan your artwork and digitize it for you. Many industrial designers, architects, and other professionals use this handy little tool as part of their workflow. It makes it easy to draw and gives new users a smooth start with the Autodesk family.
Architects, industrial designers, and illustrators can all benefit from the precision and accuracy of Sketchbook's technical drawing tools. It's compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems.
9. Affinity Designer
When compared to Adobe's suite of design applications, Affinity Designer holds its own. The possibilities for its use are seemingly endless because of its powerful structure. More and more artists are using this tool in their work, and the tool itself has a huge collection of tutorials. This app has caught the attention of many people because it offers the best value for money among digital drawing apps, requiring only a single payment to unlock both the mobile and desktop versions.
This drawing app is an add-on to the desktop version of Affinity Designer, and it supports both vector and pixel art. It was developed for use with layouts intended for print or digital media.
Discover the best drawing app for your needs!
Whether you're an industrial engineer or a fine artist, you can find a drawing application that suits your needs in today's market. These art apps liberate artists from their desktops so they can create wherever they happen to be. With one of the aforementioned drawing apps, you can now make digital drawings wherever and whenever you like!

How do you take a physical quiz game for children and create a compelling digital experience?
Tumblr media
When compared to offline games, online versions offer many opportunities for increased user engagement. We were proud to partner with a leader in the field of educational game creation — Skillmatics — to help them bring an already successful card-based offline game to the digital world. Along the way, we incorporated a range of instructional design and technology-enabled elements — from sound and avatar design to built-in timers — to enhance player engagement.
The offline game
The game in question — Guess In 10 — is designed to build and test general knowledge. A fun family learning game suitable for players across age groups, Guess In 10 is an easy-to-learn dice-driven game with some strategy elements, including Clue Cards and Bonus Questions. By asking a number of questions, players have to guess the animal or country on the Game Card.

The offline game is fun, educational and engaging. However, by taking it online, the digital version of the game opens up new possibilities, making it more interesting and easier to play for groups, especially while travelling.
Going digital
Hornbill and Skillmatics discussed and determined a number of e-learning elements that could be added to enhance the game, made possible by the digital medium.
Hornbill FX played the role of a trusted and high quality execution partner in creating the online version of this card game. The digital game retains all key elements from the offline game using design and content elements from Skillmatics.
On-the-go gameplay
When travelling, players are likely to find it challenging to carry multiple decks of cards or other forms of content. That is the biggest advantage to going digital. With a single smartphone, you can access unlimited content packs and don’t have to carry a physical set of cards for each topic. Just like with e-books, you can have access to your whole library any time.
Digital gamification
How do you keep track of scores and winners while playing offline? Usually, a separate notebook or application is required. The Skillmatics digital game does away with this issue with the automatic tracking of scores for players and teams, and also automatically declares results and the winner or loser of each game.
Gameplay is also simplified, since the number of questions asked, clues requested and guesses made are also automatically tracked by the digital game.
The Skillmatics game is suitable for players of all age groups, each with a different knowledge level. Based on need, the game can be played at different difficulty levels, with more or fewer guesses allowed, clues available, etc.
Enhanced User Experience
The digital game adds certain elements to make gameplay easier. By adding an introductory video with fun characters, the rules of the digital game are properly explained — and at the same time, the excitement of the game begins even before gameplay does.
The game also comes with the option to undo clicks made by mistake. This is especially useful since the game is targeted to both children and seniors.
The experience is enhanced by an added layer of music and SFX. The background music and sounds for celebrations, oops, etc, make the overall experience of the digital game that much more engaging.
An online game and an offline one serve very different functions. Hornbillfx is one of the leading Game-based learning solutions companies in India, Dubai, and the USA. We at Hornbill FX were delighted to support Skillmatics in creating a digital version of the game. By working closely together, we were able to create a game that has the same great content and graphics but is even more engaging thanks to the unique elements that technology can deliver. Do contact our experts today — we’d love to work with you to take your offline game to the next level, online!

The Siren Song of Dark Academia
Tumblr media
Tweed uniforms, reading Kafka by candlelight and sitting in the university library for as long as there is more than one star twinkling in the sky. What do all of these share in common? A passion for knowledge and antiquity integrated with the soul of chaos and the tortured artist. That’s the shortest description I could think of when trying to describe what dark academia is. Dark academia has transformed into a complex aesthetic that consists of dark and earthy tones, old books, and a lack of modern technology. The theme has made its way through various forms of media, such as film and literature, but has truly been seized by Gen Z during the past couple of years. It’s accessible escapism available to anyone who feels the flames of chaos licking their ankles in midst of a global pandemic and political upheaval.
As a university student who was sent home during my first year due to the pandemic, I’m not surprised at the rise in dark academia and aesthetic lifestyles in general. When told to essentially stay in one place, you start to pine for something different than the life you have in front of you; the idea of the life you could have on campus becomes exciting and romantic, and an “anything but this” mindset is the fertilizer an aesthetic needs to become pervasive. Dark academia creates this fantasy world where scholarship is beautiful and seems to offer more than just a way to find a lucrative career.
I’d be a hypocrite if I said that I didn’t love dark academia itself. I can’t pretend that I haven’t stayed up late to do homework while listening to a playlist that consists of Chopin and Debussy, or that I’m not doing that in the campus library *right now*. However, I believe that the aesthetic has a certain ugliness to it, one that can get especially worse when given the chance. Social media sites -especially Tumblr- can quickly lead users to view unhealthy content and does a pretty good job of keeping users stuck in a chasm that endlessly echoes back at them.
How does an aesthetic go wrong and what happens when it does?
How Tumblr Created Aesthetic
Of all the social media sites out there, Tumblr is the least expected to be unfamiliar with the aesthetic, or event the term “aesthetic” in general. In more ways than one, Tumblr birthed the concept of online aesthetics. Older users know that the website was one of the first to be image-centric when it was launched in 2007 (Mirny 2021). The emphasis on imagery as content combined with the utilization of tags called for a culmination of users to curate communities quite literally with the touch of a button (or maybe a few). Using tags to label images are posts makes searching a lot easier, but because Tumblr tags allow so much creative freedom, it can become difficult to describe a community when it consists of so many different ideas and images. Naming an aesthetic “dark academia” is much easier than saying “things that look like Dead Poet’s Society” and hoping for the best.
In philosophy, aesthetics refers to the principles that govern perceived beauty and artistic taste. Tumblr is no different. The various aesthetics you see such as “basic”, “cottage core”, “retro”, “e-girl”, etc. are all forms of artistic expression that resonate with specific groups of people. Even the aesthetics that are very apparent forms of rebellion against beauty standards have some type of standard themselves to constitute as an aesthetic, such as “goth” and “punk”. Users will create image posts and connect them with their respective tags. Images that users feel make the most sense in the aesthetic receive more notes and reblogs, and reach more users exponentially, while images that don’t cater to the target community tend to dissolve. This system pushes communities to create a concentrated aesthetic that shares a very specific feature.
When a majority of Tumblr users are young, that no doubt significantly influences what the mainstream aesthetics will look like.
Tumblr media
Though not the majority, a large portion of users consists of people between 15 and 25 years old. People can struggle at any age, of course, but the 10-year period is difficult. Imagine going through physical puberty, immediately followed by emotional puberty. Younger users are more likely to yearn for a sense of community to feel like they belong *somewhere*, meaning that aesthetic communities are bound to be more popular with that demographic: “Access to the public sphere in traditional ways has decreased substantially for youth during the past two decades, while surveillance by parents and institutional authorities has greatly increased. Teens' use of social media is a reflection of their need to find new ways to achieve privacy and assert some control over their personal space” (McCracken 2017). The very need to gain back the control McCracken mentions is reflected in the rise of online aesthetics. It serves as a form of self-expression in a place that the self is otherwise restricted, and users can portray themselves however they see fit. People want to be with others who understand them. But it’s in that sense of community where users can stumble into something that would’ve been better off left alone (this seems to happen so often that the site should be rebranded to Stumblr).
Romanticizing Mental Illness
***Content Warning: Discussion of eating disorders and self-harm ***
Those familiar with dark academia imagine a flurry of images when they hear the name of the aesthetic. Among those images are primarily scholars. Dark academia concocts a reality where chasing your thirst for knowledge is for your own personal development and enrichment. In the 1989 film Dead Poet’s Society, teacher John Keating tells his students, “We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.” Passion for knowledge is at the core of dark academia, but eventually to a fault. The b-side of the aesthetic includes dark circles and eye bags, madness, and the ever infamous “thinspo”.
Anima Shrestha cites 16-year-old Tumblr user Laura who wishes she could be “mysterious, haunted, fascinating”. The transition from demonizing mental illness in media to desiring it is largely due to the “echo chamber” sites like Tumblr provides (Shrestha 2018). Vulnerable teenagers and young adults will go into Tumblr seeking advice or sympathy and find themselves accidentally caught in a riptide of negative content. Once the algorithm catches onto a user’s preferences, the user will see more of that type of content. Repeating the beautification of mental illness within this closed space may eventually lead to impressionable/vulnerable users to desire mental illness for themselves (Shrestha 2018). Black and white images portraying melancholy and despair remove the very real pain of mental illness and converts the concept into its own aesthetic. This simultaneously harms the people with desire who do not have a disorder and delegitimizes those who do have a disorder.
The the two most inescapable disorder-based posts on Tumblr are arguably depression and anorexia, especially within dark academia. As mentioned earlier, the core of the dark academia aesthetic is a burning passion for knowledge. This can materialize in the form of a student who stays up for hours on end to research their interests, or an alcoholic professor who is a nihilist because he “just knows too much”. More often than not, “the tortured artist” is the most revered trope: a misunderstood character in pain over the unfair nature of the world; someone who is too intellectually profound for their own wellbeing. Nihilism and depression combine to create this image of superiority because “nobody gets them”. Physically harming and neglecting the self is an integral part of the tortured artist archetype, so it will surely flow over if one embraces the aesthetic wholly. However, how a user connects to this archetype can turn into a “what came first”-type riddle. In the height of Covid-19, students were already at the mercy of academic stress, so it’s not impossible that the tortured artist/scholar serves as a figure of relatability and comfort. In a sense, the character makes the pain feel like it’s all in the name of something greater than we can comprehend, making it worth it. However! Users are still at risk of exacerbating the situation if they stay within the echo chamber.
On to thinspo: the first time I searched up “Dark Academia” on tumblr I saw an image-post of very thin white women with the tags #an0r3x!a (leetspeak for “anorexia”) and #I will get skinny.
I was horrified - why is it so blatant and so accessible?
Not surprisingly, it’s because we like skinny women. Using the royal we, our online society prefers thinner woman to the point where 97.7% of them were the subject of a photo (Wick and Harriger 2018). I don’t think anyone will fall out of their seat in shock when I say that we still have exceptionally strict beauty standards online for women and femme-presenting people. They are expected to be skinny, hairless, and white (or European-looking at the very least). Placing people with these features on a pedestal further separates people and creates a homogenous community. With dark academia being an aesthetic, it will inevitably prioritize how things (and people) look.
Classism and Racism in Dark Academia
A quick question: did the photo I included at the very top of this post seem out of place? Did anything about it scream “THIS ISN’T DARK ACADEMIA!!!!” ? I’d be surprised if it gave off that impression because most results when searching for “dark academia” show images of preppy-looking students, marble statues, and old European-style architecture. The fashion, architecture, and very interests of dark academia are heavily Eurocentric. Donna Tartt’s The Secret History is potentially THE template for the aesthetic, with it’s preparatory school, white students in uniforms, and mystery.
Is there anything wrong with thinking that Oxford University looks nice and that French seems like an interesting language? Of course not! But the fact that the aesthetic is so blatantly European begs for questioning.
Dark academia associates itself with decadence, elite scholarship and mysterious prep schools, all of which have been historically exclusive to wealthy white men. With the efforts of British colonialism, nations have been ravaged of their wealth and knowledge, leaving few resources to recuperate in time before Western ideology became the mainstream. Dark academia preserves the past and remains within the aesthetics of 19th and 20th century England and the east coast of the United States. Even the fashion of it is that of the modern-day Tory (wealthy and conservative English people). An overwhelming majority of images with the dark academia tag depict white people, and they are treated as the default. If you want to find traditional/cultural dark academia, you need to specifically search for it, showing us that BIPOC users are not included within the aesthetic normally.
The lack of BIPOC people within the community reflects the reality of how academia tends to bar People of Color from entering the space, especially women. BIPOC women who do enter the sphere of education face microaggressions and betrayal from colleagues and mentors alike (Marbley et al. 2011).
The aesthetic contradicts itself because it’s very presence on social media makes it *not* elite, yet somehow it is gatekept. Dark academia prides itself on individuals learning about and embracing culture, but only European cultures and languages are treated as classy. There is nothing inherently white about wanting to chase knowledge, but because of colonization and mainstream Western ideology, non-European cultures are erased and ignored by the aesthetic.
Poetry and literature from all cultures should be celebrated in the community because it only provides more perspective on how the chaos of the world around us falls into place. Luckily, users are slowly integrating more content that features people of color in dark academia.

NSFW ABC- MALIA TATE
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
She's super cuddly after sex, she's attached to your hip and will be the big spoon.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
She loves her fingers, she loves seeing how flustered you get when she traces shapes or plays with your hair.
She adores your legs. She practically drools over them.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Malia will mark her territory. She'll rub it on you as it was perfume.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Malia has this pillow she likes to pretend is you, she'll spray your perfume and ride the pillow as if she was scissoring you.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
She doesn't know what she's doing until she met you.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
She loves it when you sit on her face and she eat you out as the same time. It's the best of both worlds for her.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
She loves to hear your giggles and see your smile. She has no shame tickling you during sex.
H = Hair (how well-groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
She's completely shaved, she thinks it's easier access for you to lick her clit.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
She's more needy than romantic. She'll cut to the chase and fuck you.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
She'll touch herself if you're in the same room. She'll use this as punishment or if she wants your attention.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
She secretly wants to blindfold you as you wiggle underneath her
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Anywhere is good for Malia. As long as she can taste your honey-like wetness.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Just wear shorts around her and she's wrapped around your finger.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn-offs)
She won't use her claws (knife kink-wise) during sex. She also refuses to use her stregth
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
She loves getting. Don't get her wrong, she lives for your pussy but nothing can compare to your mouth.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
She's a very fast and rough girl. She's on top, gripping your waist as her pussy collides with yours.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
she hates it, don't even ask about it. You'll put her in a bad mood.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
She's willing to do a threesome (maybe group sex). ONLY with girls though. She doesn't trust guys near you.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Malia can go on for hours and hours. Hope you have a water bottle near, it'll be a long workout.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Malia LOVES toys. She loves the feeling when you push them inside of her and she adores seeing you squirm when she presses the vibrator to your throbbing clit.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
More like how unfair YOU are. Yes, Malia is a tease but she isn't a criminal.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Malia is a huge whiner. Moans, gasps, snarls, and giggles fall from her mouth
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Malia has no shame in public sex. She once ate you out under a library table while studying.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Malia has a very athletic body and she never disappoints to dampen your panties.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Super high to the point where you buy vibrating pantie for her to wear so she's distracted.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterward)
In a snap, she'll wake up a couple minutes later to shower with you.

hello yes can i just say i l o v e d your gen z hcs and may i acquire more
for starters, i am not religious, but i am PRAYING you don’t think i was ignoring your ask. i’ve been thinking about it since i got it, it’s just that i’m a college student with worms for brains, so hopefully you understand. this is something that i’ve had on my mind for a long time [i’ve been at this on and off for months], and it most definitely can be associated with/attributed to gen z.
for a fleeting, wonderful period of time, there was a trend on tiktok that went, “buss it, buss it…” are you familiar?
that should be enough of a summary, right? ah—for future reference, “o7” is like a saluting emote, for anyone who might not know. reader is g/n as usual, enjoy!
[a/n: so because this is so long, this part is going to be, like, the lore, and then the actual headcanons will be right here]
trendy
the two things most corrosive to the human spirit are easily named—capitalism and boredom. while it would be easier and less taxing to explain the former, the latter was the problem at hand. it’s not that there was nothing to do in the devildom—quite the opposite, actually—it was just that you wanted some time to yourself every now and again. the trouble with trying to take time for yourself in a completely new location, the residents of which are always enamored with you in one way or another, is that there isn’t anything to do. the house was full of adventures for you to take—the trap door under the rug in the library, the other trap door under the dining room table, the small door behind the couch in the living room, and whatever other poorly hidden doors your seven roommates thought you didn’t know about.
trouble was, you didn’t want to leave your room. you, intelligent creature that you are, knew that the chances of you running into mammon or satan or beel or asmo were all too high, and even higher were the chances of you agreeing to spend time with them if they asked, and you knew they would. what were you to do?
you stared at your ceiling from your bed, d.d.d. resting on your stomach as you let your mind wander. your d.d.d. was full of things for you to do, the devildom’s ethernet at your fingertips, but you weren’t interested in finding new things right now. you wanted something familiar, like—like your phone.
what was the point of lucifer taking your phone, anyway? it’s not like you could use it—being here rendered it a useless brick of glass and metal, so it wouldn’t have been a big deal if you still had it. it was funny, though, that you couldn’t use your actual phone when it was still possible to access the human internet from down here.
at least, you assumed so.
how else would levi be able to keep up with his human idols, get tickets for their shows—the works, you know? luckily, you were fully capable of asking.
d.d.d. now in your hand, you rolled onto your stomach and found your messages with levi, nails clacking against the glass as you tried to reach him.
hey, you texted, can you help me with something?
his reply came faster than you expected: ?? what do you need
how do i access human websites and apps, you asked, rolling onto your side. you know how to, right?
lololol, it’s not possible :p
a grunt, more aggravated than you’d care to admit, escaped from the back of your throat.
don’t lie.
a few minutes passed with no response, and you wondered if you were too harsh.
“he’s a sensitive guy,” you mumbled, inhaling deeply. “i probably came on too strong or something.”
just as you started typing out an apology and a, “forget i ever said anything,” you got a response.
a vpn and a proxy site.
a smile crept onto your face as air came out of your nose, the closest thing to a laugh you could muster.
can you set it up for me?
after another few minutes of no response, you sit up, wondering how you could’ve possibly fucked up a second time, your d.d.d. buzzed.
levi sent you a file and a link, with a host of instructions.
click on the file and it’ll take you to the vpn you need to download. don’t worry about bugs or anything, i made it myself.
you let out a low whistle, flopping onto your back once more.
“this guy gets up to more than i thought,” you said, eyebrows raised. “someone get this man some physical affection.”
you continued to read, growing more fond of him with each sentence.
once you install it, pick the country whose network you want access to. from there, you’ll have a list of that country’s most used applications available for you. again, don’t worry about bugs.
what’s the link for? you asked, excitement getting the better of you.
for when you download internet applications. it’s added security, paste the link in before you search anything or you’ll trigger the firewall alarm.
you blinked.
you’ll trigger the what?
i’ll trigger the fucking What?
levi’s response was the fastest one yet: the Fucking Firewall Alarm. barbatos’ design. he has no idea i know how to bypass it. just do what i said. don’t try to solve any potential issues on your own, come to me for everything.
roger that o7, you replied, thanks levi ^_^
yeah, yeah. come to my room for a hxh binge tomorrow night.
you snorted. what a fucking nerd—in the greatest way possible.
of course bestie :] ily
ily2 normie -_-
in his room, unbeknownst to you, levi felt like he made a mistake of some kind. it’s not that he didn’t trust you, it’s just that you had a tendency to end up in undesirable situations, even if it wasn’t always on purpose. he was probably just worried over nothing, or so he tried to tell himself, but whatever. this isn’t even about him.
you sat up once more, this time leaning against your pillows as you started setting everything up. everything went so quickly that you barely wondered if all of this—subverting hell’s firewall, personally designed by a man eerily similar to a 2D crush from when you were in middle school—was worth accessing a few silly apps from the human world.
a few minutes later, your d.d.d. now a much, much cooler copy of your phone, any and all thoughts of regret and hesitation were absent from your mind.
your first order of business on your upgraded d.d.d. was logging into your tiktok account, however surprising it was that you even remembered the password. you put your headphones in and adjusted your volume, going back into the dumpster fire that is your for-you page with open arms.
after around half an hour of stifled laughter and small, offended gasps from being targeted by the algorithm, you came across a rare dancing video. the person on your screen was in casual clothes, making minor, silly dance movements as the music dwindled, only for them to drop into a squat in time with the music, suddenly dolled up. you shot forward, taken aback by their transformation and by their dancing post beat drop. did you watch it on a loop for a few minutes? well, that’s nobody’s business but yours. you clicked on the sound in hopes of finding similar videos, and much to your relief, there were plenty. about ten videos in, a smile still on your face, you got an idea.
you slipped your headphones out, arbitrarily looking around your room, before whispering to yourself, “i could—i could do that. i could totally do that.”
and you were right. you had nice clothes and makeup from various shopping occasions with asmo. your room had led strips, courtesy of levi ordering the wrong ones and being so kind as to give them to you. you could do it.
levi was the only person you’d spoken to since you retreated to your room a few hours ago, and the lights have been off the entire time, which meant that if you worked quietly enough, everyone else had reason enough to assume you were asleep. good! how could you possibly explain what you were doing getting all dolled up at, like, 11:00 on a wednesday night? you couldn’t, even a little bit—not in a way that convinced anyone, anyway.
come midnight, you were sitting cross legged on your bed, watching your final product. not to be vain or anything, but you were looking very respectfully at yourself. since when could you move like that, anyway? the wonders of being alone, you supposed.
you didn’t post it publicly, electing to save it as a draft just so it would save to your d.d.d. maybe you’d post it once you were back in the human world, when your friends wouldn’t swarm your comments asking where the fuck you were.
yeah, lucifer told you, “everything was taken care of,” but regardless of whether or not you believed him, you knew it wasn’t a good idea to risk finding out if he missed something.
boredom creeping up on you again, you elected to go through the messages on your d.d.d. it would be better to make yourself laugh before you were fully bored again, right? you stood up and stretched, opening the group text with the adults. luke doesn’t know about it; he thinks the one with everyone is the main one, and everyone lets him think that so he feels included.
walking around your room in small circles, you scrolled up to the older conversations and read through them, rolling your eyes and chuckling to yourself. very rarely did they talk about anything of importance. it was mostly diavolo, barbatos, and simeon making quips and jokes at lucifer’s expense for everyone to see. it was gold in its purest form.
you contemplated sending one of the many cursed things sitting in your camera roll, just to keep them on their toes, but just after opening your gallery, you resigned not to, figuring it would be best to leave him alone.
you stretched again, the hold on your d.d.d. a bit looser this time. it nearly slipped out of your hands, but you caught it, tossing it onto your bed. as soon as you resigned to start getting ready for bed, you turned back around and picked it up.
there was no rhyme or reason to your actions; if someone in that moment were to ask you why you did it, you would’ve said, “just ‘cause.”
human intuition is a wonderful thing.
your d.d.d. was still on, still open to the group chat. you’d sent something, evidently a second ago, as indicated by the time stamp. the thumbnail was of you, in casual clothing—the casual clothing you were wearing before you got dolled up, actually. huh.
huh.
the weight of your mistake came crashing down on you in full force, a chill sinking into your skin and running up your spine.
you were suddenly acutely aware of the concept of time, how it was of the essence and you had absolutely none to waste.
what were you to do? it wouldn’t be long before your favorite person saw it. you had to do something.
you could say nothing. you could tell the truth and say it was an accident and that you were embarrassed, but that was even worse than saying nothing because it meant you were set to be the target of teasing you didn’t even wanna try to imagine. you could say it was an accident and be confident about it, telling them, “enjoy!” but that was a dangerous game to play, and you knew it.
well, i do admire you for taking time to think, but, unfortunately, there was a checkmark next to your message. oh, a number as well—eleven. you just can’t catch a break. what were they all doing up at this time, anyway? it was a school night🤨.

As I’m sure some of you have noticed I’m working my way through the books that are there to help people looking to transition to a “zero waste” lifestyle. By far this one has to be one of my favorite. The format was very easy to navigate and comprehend the tips. Each tip was described thoroughly instead of a blurb of “just do this and you’re doing good!” I also really appreciated how it addressed more than just swaps. Most of these books I’ve noticed really focus on actual changes in items or habits that you carry out during your daily life. Towards the end it really discusses the attitude you need to take to be the most successful when trying to be more conscious of your waste. Additionally they bring up the relationships you have with other people and how to navigate them as you go lower waste. I think anyone who has tried a lower waste lifestyle will surely say that they do have to try and explain and justify a lot of their actions. Not many people tell you that you will or how to navigate these reactions from others and handle them. As far as the more swap based tips they were described and often explained for why they are better and what benefits they have. I do still prefer the approach to name specific companies and products that do work well in these types of books for someone who just doesn’t know where to start. It doesn’t mean they have to buy them, but it makes d’or a book starting point in their research. Granted that is easier to do now as eco products are more and more accessible. However I think it helps point out ones that are more obviously not green washing or other practices that aren’t necessarily helpful from someone who’s done their research already. This is definitely a five star book for me and will be my new go to recommendation for anyone who wants to read a book on going zero waste! I did read this as an ebook that I downloaded for free to avoid purchasing it for something I was likely only going to read once for the review. You can get it for free at the z library online as an epub file! Hopefully if you’re looking for a book on going zero or low waste this will be one of your first options you’ll turn to!

Librarian Idyll - Done with Spells!
After a push in the last few days, I have completed Librarian Idyll Pre-Alpha 3.6! The spell system is working nicely, wrapping it up with just some rudimentary audio and visual feedback (which will be expanded upon later).
Tumblr media
Also got the active effect icons looking a bit nicer with some tooltips explaining their effects and source.
Tumblr media
Overall, I’m really happy with this update from a technical standpoint, both with the new systems for spells, active effects, and exertion, but also the work I’ve done on cleaning up the system for cursor targeting, making it a lot cleaner and intuitive to what the player is hovering over, with the context of what is in the player’s hand.
For 3.7, the focus of the update will be fully utilizing the spell system for its primary purpose currently - resource gathering. This is the capstone of the entire Pre-Alpha 3 version, tying in the plant and mineral node systems with the spell system to allow the player to collect resources from their environment. As 3.7 comes along, we’ll start looking towards version Pre-Alpha 4 which will be all about prettying up the game with a bunch of core visual systems.
Patch notes for Pre-Alpha 3.6 under the break.
Librarian Idyll Pre-Alpha 3.6 Patch Notes
Core Features
You are actually a wizard now! The bibliomancer can cast spells to do a variety of useful things.
You can access your spells through your spellbook, found in the Bibliomancer menu.
Spells are represented in your inventory as an item that you can put on your hotbar to cast. They’re not reals though - they’re just representations of the spell and will disappear if dropped and can’t be sold. However, you can always get a new one through your spellbook wherever you are!
You can now get tired. As you cast spells, you will gain exertion.
Your exertion is always recovering, although it will slow down when you’re tired.
If your exertion gets too high, you will become exhausted, slowing your movement speed and preventing you from casting spells until you’ve had time to rest.
There is a new setting - Self-Care Spellcasting - which allows you to set a pause before casting a spell that would make you tired or exhausted (your choice), in case you don’t want to overdo it with your spellcasting.
You will recover all your exertion whenever you sleep, and when you pass time until evening at your desk, you will recover exertion as well.
You can have a variety of temporary effects applied to you now, which can be viewed in the lower-left of the screen. All manner of things will use this, from spells to food to potions and more!
Content
Just 1 new spell for now - Pack - which is used to pick up furnishings you’ve placed in the world. More are on their way in the next update for use in resource gathering.
8 new Cob Indexes.
45 new books, including a bunch from community members as authors.
Changes
You can no longer pick up furnishings with your bare hands - use the new Pack spell. No more accidentally picking up a bookshelf when you just wanted to browse the stacks.
Cleaned up the Bibliomancer menu, now that it has a function. It will still receive a complete overhaul before adding more things to it, like the Studies system.
Being forced to sleep by staying up until midnight now applies a debuff the next day, lowering your exertion recovery rate.
The Furnishing Snap setting is now saved as part of an individual save file rather than across all saves.
The system for choosing what is under the cursor behaves much more intelligently now, and also has a slight tint to show what you are currently pointing at and can interact with.
Core books are now labeled as such rather than ordinary books.
Added a confirmation to exiting the game from the main menu.
Rescaled friendship levels, making it easier to hit the earlier tiers with NPCs.
Opening the dev console now pauses time.
Shop buy windows will no longer let you select a number to buy greater than the stack size of the item.
Bug Fixes
Fixed not being able to target things at the top of the screen.
Fixed the location of the sound effect for furnishings being picked up being at a higher position than intended.
Fixed player reach not being affected by the scaling on the y-axis.
Adjusted layering of herbs and ferns.
Fixed some issues with plant z-fighting.
Fixed the PlaceFurnishing action not functioning, which prevented the library from receiving its initial bookcases once built.
Fixed the hotbar not being disabled on bookshelf menus.
Fixed the hotbar selection frame appearing in container inventories.
Modding
Spells are a new configurable data type, with options for cast time, duration, effects when cast and while channeling, targeting info, and more.
Books can now have tags set for just the premium version of the book.
5 new actions - ActiveEffectModifier, ActiveEffectTag, Exertion, LateToBedPenalty, EndActiveEffect
4 new conditions - ExertionLevel, ExertionPercent, IsTired, IsExhausted
14 new modifiers - Spell_Duration, Spell_Duration_[key], Spell_Magnitude, Spell_Magnitude_[key], Exertion_Max, Exertion_Recovery, Spell_Exertion, Spell_Exertion_[key], Tired_Threshold, Exhausted_Threshold, Spell_CastTime, Spell_CastTime_[key], Spell_Range, Spell_Range_[key]
7 new core configs - BaseMaxExertion, BaseExertionRecovery, TiredThreshold, ExhaustedThreshold, ExhaustedPenalty, LateToBedPenalty, SpellItemSound

"Understanding the Relevance of Information and News Literacy in the Midst of Social Era"
In the 21st century, Information Literacy can recognize when the information is needed and locate, evaluate, effectively use, and communicate information in its various formats. Meaning, not just the media platforms can also research, textbooks, blogs, and newspapers. According to (USC University of Southern California) Information Literacy is essential to students because They can presently don't go to reference books and different books at the library to look into data; they instinctually go to the Internet. Information Literacy assists understudies with perceiving deceiving, obsolete, or bogus data. It likewise causes them to sort through the information and deciphers it cleverly. Libraries brimming with books are as yet accessible and an essential asset for understudies. However, Information Literacy incorporates the Internet and past Info’s. In the end, Information Literacy is necessary for us in this Social Era. Many people will come thoroughly to find popular and scholarly sources in their research paper. It’s much more demand to handle the information. Information Literary has a greater influence for us being able to properly use the components of information so that we couldn’t be arrogance to our infos.
News Literacy can use critical thinking skills to judge the reliability of the news report’s source and credibility. News Literacy is very dominant because we can get updates to global information, and it has some flaws like Information Disorder, which introduces the “False Information.” According to (Smith), Generation Z is genuinely the original of substantial Internet clients, having web-based media accounts, just as phones, and so forth. They don't have the foggiest idea about the universe of previous eras and the battles experienced by not having these mechanical headways. These progressions have been gigantic and for the world as we probably are aware it today since we work all the more proficiently and can pick up information more rapidly than at any time in recent memory. Information is brought to us with a royal flair absent a lot of thought. In any case, this "made for you" information, a big help, has permitted us to fall behind regarding critical thinking, investigating, exploring, going to spots to get data, and having discussions with individuals in figuring out how to work on the internet. News Literacy is substantial for this Social Era. It is much easier to connect with people and updates to a specific event just using only a cellphone, unlike from the past, you had really to use some complicated way to pass information. You should be aware of the source of information like you are curious about the article you read. You should read it rather than share or just by looking it the article if it’s catchily called Click baiting. In the end, News Literacy is to enhance our critical thinking to become an officially active citizen to judge the reliability because we have the freedoms to speak, and information will be a leading indicator to our civil societies in the world.

THE GOOD AND THE BAD: HOW SOCIAL MEDIA AFFECTS ME AS A GEN Z INDIVIDUAL
As part of “Gen Z” I am actually thankful that I was born in this era, imaging being born in times when sending a simple message would take months before the receiver receives it, imagine having information taking weeks or even months to spread, that would be really hard, luckily things have improve drastically making things that were hard before easier, technology has never been this good and even now it still improves as time pass by, with the technology we have at hand, it makes things easier as I said and by easier I mean improving things like making the quality of life better and making simple things like sending a message, video or even files in the best way with just a click of a button, you can search for something in the internet and you would get results quickly not like before you had to go to a library and search for information you need in a book.
Communication has been made easier and so does spreading information, social media has improved to, you first got Myspace, then Friendster then the powerhouse Facebook that’s been above ever since, you also have twitter and Instagram, those are just to name a few. The social media has a big impact on me, it affects how I live, because social media can spread news and information easily and almost in an instant, as somebody who has access to this I rely on the social media for news and information, but don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in everything they say just because they say so, I also search about the news or information in sites that you can trust and are legit, don’t just go believing what they say because nowadays spreading news and information may be easy, so does spreading false information. So accept what they say but don’t believe in it without searching about the said news or information on other sites.

"The Good and The Bad: How Social Media Affected Me as a Gen Z Individual"
As part of Generation Z, we use Social media, such as twitter , Facebook and YouTube, and it revolutionized the way people get information , connect and interact with each other. Social networking has seen some rather positive impact in terms of inspiring and linking people in the relatively short period they've been in existence and they've created new outlets for some very negative and harmful behaviors.
As a Gen Z individual it affects me a lot for social media plays a huge role in my life. It affects me somehow in negative and in postive ways. Negative in a way that through social media I sometimes disregards things that i need to do but despite of that i still manage and strive to use it in a positive way by making it as a tool to make my life easier and conducive just like communicating to everyone especially to the people that i need.
There is always a good and bad side in everything and that does not exclude the social media. The social media sites are visited several times a day to click through their feeds, exchange content or even buy items. Millennials are highly motivated by their peers and by the history of the Fear Of Losing Out (FOMO). They seem to imitate social media posts of their friends more than other generations. One of the biggest pros of social media is that it nurtures and expands relationships. Improving communication and strengthening human connection is the reason social media emerged. Regardless of where a person lives, it’s possible to find others who share the same interests and concerns. Internet support groups, discussion boards, blogs, and other social media platforms have significantly enhanced the resources for individuals wrestling with mental health, behavioral, and/or addiction issues. The internet and social media boost productivity. These tools offer more information to the young individual users— including real-time news—than a library full of encyclopedias, and the information’s accessible at any time of day or night.
