Addressing the issue of water pollution, the artists collected samples from 100 locations across Taiwan, first freezing the liquids and then preserving their creations in resin.
People need to realize how the internet changes the context of things, because everyone acts like an authority or like they're an example of common public opinion when they're online. I recently met someone who had a lot of reddit environmentalist takes irl. And while those are things that would seem like serious climate takes online, when they say them irl in an actual conversation my internal reaction tends to be "do you need help, I don't think thinking about this is good for your mental health". And now I'm thinking of analyzing things I read online (or even say online) as if they were meatspace statements. '
Someone calling a kid's interests cringe. Imagine them doing that irl. Imagine how disgustingly unseemly an adult making fun of a teenager's interests to their face would be. Or if they're calling you out for not being good enough at something that's a hobby, imagine them saying that to you while you're showing off your hobby, imagine how terrible they look.
Someone has a hot take about how it's wrong to be attracted to adult women with short heights or flat chests, imagine someone telling that to a guy with a petite girlfriend. Someone tells you that enjoying a story with incest means you support incest, imagine someone telling that to someone reading an ASOIAF book on the train. Someone says you can't enjoy something with a problematic creator, imagine them saying that to someone reading Lovecraft on the train.
Someone has a hot take in activist space that seems really violent or somewhat facisty. Imagine them saying that irl, even with fellow activists. Imagine someone trying to defend Stalin in an actual human conversation, or trying to defend population control for environmentalist reasons.
I know I'm privileged to live in a large city and be pretty socially active, and even I can easily fall into overly online ways of thinking. But remember, even if you can't touch grass, you can imagine how things would be on the grass.
Many politicians pledge to be dedicated to the environment, and to put environmental issues first, but in reality many people often prioritize their own needs before those of the earth's. If we want a place to live in the future, action needs to be taken now!
"Umurangi" meaning "red sky" in Te Reo (fucking spell check, thats a real fucking word, damn it.), a native New Zealand language.
this game is angry. and i love it, unlike jet set radio and bomb rush cyberfunk, this game is actually pissed at police and shit. rather than going "haha, wouldnt it be funny if cops would go absolute ape shit over some street art on places that dont really hurt people." (oh wait)
but aside of the great and cool cop hate (fuck cops, hate them, never once have they made me feel comfy, if anything, they have made me feel uncomfy and made me want to leave.), this game is also mad about climate change kaiju,
"its just weather
its just earthquakes
its just kaiju
its just the end of the world."
"its just weather
its just heatwaves/blizzards
its just inevitable"
i just love how fucking pissed this game is about the world, i get this energy of politics these days that "wow this other place is so much better" but like, if you did move there, your quality of life would probably aither go lower or stay the same, and then we tend to forget that most other countrys are doing the same shit as america is. but they are better in some ways, and the same in others.
new Zealand and Canada all have the American treatment of natives. stealing their land and going "nah, we live here now" which isn't a knock on the family's and joe schmoe's who just moved in there without knowing, but it is a knock on the land lords, and the country's that just let it happen in the first place.
i love how they used the imagery of evangelion, and/or kaiju and mecha in general to make this jet set radio like photography game. which actually makes me want to get into photography.
Inside of a pond just 5 miles away swam over 200 wild fish, a plethora of unique plant species, a fresh batch of 29 tadpole eggs, and 31 tadpoles that had just hatched.
Inside of an office sat one person without a clue about fish, but a passionate rage toward Petco and their cruel practices.
Inside of the Petco, about 3 minutes later, sat 20 new betta fish that had just been delivered.
Inside of the pond, 30 seconds later, swam over 200 wild fish, a plethora of unique plant species, a fresh batch of 28 tadpole eggs, 31 tadpoles, and one that had just hatched prematurely, but perhaps if fate were to be in its favor, could live for a few more days.
Inside of a tall, beige minivan, 5 minutes later, sat the passionate man, on his way to Petco.
Inside of the Petco, about 10 minutes later, stood the man, with 52 unique betta fish in his shopping cart.
Inside of the pond, 12 minutes later, swam over 200 wild fish, a plethora of unique plant species, a fresh batch of 28 tadpole eggs, 31 tadpoles, one that had just hatched prematurely, but perhaps if fate were to be in its favor, could live for a few more days, and 52 unique betta fish.
Inside of his home, 6 hours later, the man slept easy, happy with himself for saving the fish.
Inside of the pond, at the same time, swam 127 wild fish, a few unique plant species, a fresh batch of 12 tadpole eggs, 8 tadpoles, and 48 unique betta fish.
Inside of the pond, a few days later, was almost nothing.
Yeah I'm gonna keep doing this and y'all can't stop me😈!
The good news will flow and we will keep fighting for a better world!

Remember, whenever you think it's hopeless, when you think the system is inevitable, or that climate change can't be stopped, there is an oil executive whose very happy that you think that way. If you think it doesn't matter what you believe, remember that an entire ecosystem of propaganda exists to make sure people like you don't believe change can/should happen. If it takes knowing that someone truely awful doesn't want you being hopeful to make you hopeful, then let that be the reason you know that the world can be saved.
I hate people who say they don’t care about the environment. “Oh ItS nOt My FaUlT tHiS is HapPeNinG-“ you’re right, it’s not, but guess what? We all have to live in it. Drive less. Stop driving at all if possible. Stop burning fossil fuels. Take electricity powered public transportation. We all have to start caring about the fucking environment or by the time your children grow up winter won’t exist.
