Say Something - Draco Malfoy x Reader
Request: Hellooooooo! I miss your imagines so much but do take your time of course! Could I please get one where draco and a Slytherin reader are a thing but he has been ordered to kill you by voldemort because not only are you Harry's twin sister but also draco's gf/weak spot so he treats the reader terribly because he really does not want to hurt her and he thinks breaking up with her can somehow convince voldemort that you aren't worth it. can there be a lot of angst but also some fluff? -Anon
Warnings: angstyyy
Y/N/N: Your nick name
Tumblr media
You sprinted after Draco as fast as you could, silently thanking Merlin you were able to see him before he saw you.
Draco has been ignoring and neglecting you for a while now. Every time you attempted to talk to him, he would disappear before you could even get to him. And in moments where you finally got to him, he always excused himself claiming to be "busy."
At first, you thought it was a fluke. You went from constantly being around each other to almost never seeing each other.
Sure, Draco and you would fall into sour moods and avoid each other over stupid reasons. Almost every couple does at some point, but you would eventually talk about it. And there was always a catalyst, but this time it was different. Draco never acted like this before, and if something was truly bothering him, he would’ve told you by now.
You tried to distract yourself and focus your mind on anything else other than him. If he wanted to talk to you then he needs to be the one to make the first move since he was the one who became distant in the first place. You would constantly remind yourself of this but it was no use.
The thoughts plaguing your mind only worsened as you went about your days because all you could focus on was him. You couldn't help but think if something happened between the two of you and you were just too oblivious to see it?
Being Harry Potter's twin sister brought a lot of baggage due to the feud between the two of them, but Draco ultimately had nothing against you. And he always made sure of that from the moment the two of you started dating.
"This has been absolutely ridiculous! Will you talk to me!" you shouted, grabbing onto his Slytherin robes and yanking him around, frustrated with playing this game of cat and mouse.
Draco stopped momentarily, irritated. A grimace was plastered on his face as he remained silent.
"For the past few months I’ve been worrying over you constantly!" you shouted, jamming your finger angrily into his chest with each sentence, "I have no idea what I’ve done to you and all you have been doing is ignoring me! For Merlin's sake, we're supposed to love each other and this is how you treat me!?"
He crossed his arms over his chest, looking away.
"If you wanted to break up, why don't you just man up and say so instead of acting immature and avoiding me! I thought you were better than that!" you yelled, tears brimmed from the corner of your eyes. You wiped them away, scowling at him, and closed your eyes quickly composing yourself.
Draco's jaw clenched, eyebrows knitted tight in anger. His lack of response was pissing you off more and more as each second passed.
"Your silence is speaking loudly for yourself, is that what you want?!" you stomped your foot, "SAY SOMETHING!"
What happened next surprised you. Knowing how Draco tends to act in your past arguments, he would explode just as much as you. But he didn't this time. Instead, he scoffed and took a step back, creating even more distance between the two of you.
"I don't love you and I have never loved you. Thought you would've taken the hint by now, but you're just as stupid as your brother," he spat lowly, making you flinch, "Just leave me alone and never speak to me again, Y/N."
Your mouth hung agape as your named rolled off his lips, taking a step back this time.
The halls were quiet, which otherwise would've been considered peaceful if it weren't for this given moment.
You looked at him with deep hope to hear him say he was wrong. To hear him say that he didn't mean it, and this was all some cruel prank. That none of this is happening. But he didn’t.
With as much strength as you could muster without breaking down, you spoke.
"I see."
You turned on your heel, finally allowing the tears to flow down your face, and left a very heart-broken Draco alone in the hallway.
You didn't know where your feet were carrying you too, you just knew that you needed to be anywhere else but here. Maybe you'll grab your broom, and soar off to Merlin knows where. Maybe you'll grab some Floo powder and allow it to take you somewhere random. Hell, even just wandering different grounds out of Hogwarts seemed like a good plan.
You continued walking through the castle, deep in your own thoughts until you heard familiar distant voices. Walking down the curved staircase, the voices grew louder and you faced the back of your brother and Hermione deep in discussion.
They hadn't noticed your presence just yet as they continued their conversation.
"I keep having these dreams, Hermione, and I'm telling you that it's all somehow connected. I can't quiet explain it right now but... I hear him more and more each day."
She placed her hand on his shoulder, as they gazed through an opened window, facing out towards the ocean in Hogwarts.
"I believe you, trust me. We've just somehow got to," she paused, "Y/N? Are you alright?"
Hermione saw you out of the corner of her eye when she began speaking to Harry.
Harry's head snapped at the mention of your name, and he whipped around. The smile he had on his face quickly faded when he took in your appearance. With no questions asked, he rushed forward and pulled you into a bone-crushing hug. You wrapped your arms around him just as tight, letting out a sob into his shoulder. Hermione also rushed forward, hugging you, brushing your hair down with her hands.
"Y/N," he whispered, lovingly, "What's happened?"
You shook your head. "You're not going to care," you cried.
You really didn't feel like being lectured by Harry and getting the 'I-told-you-so' speech. Harry always hated Draco since day one, and somehow the satisfaction of him rubbing it in your face wasn't gong to make you feel any better. You just needed the love and comfort of your brother and friends.
"Nonsense, Y/N/N, tell me what’s wrong. Please, I don’t like seeing you like this.” He said with a worried expression. You knew he wouldn’t stop asking if you didn’t give him an answer.
You sniffled, staring blankly ahead in his embrace.
"Draco and I broke up."
Harry tensed against you. His hatred for Draco ran deep, and as much as he hated seeing the two of you together, he now hated him even more for breaking your heart.
"That pathetic, foul little git," Hermione cursed, "You deserve so much better, Y/N."
"Let's take a trip to Hogsmeade and get some butter beer, yea?" Harry suggested, pulling you out of the embrace and staring into your eyes. He wasn't going to make you talk about it unless you wanted to and you appreciated it. You nodded, and linked hands with him.
~*~
Almost another month and a half had passed and each day felt like a drag. However, you must admit you don't feel as hollow now as much as you did a month ago.
Harry made you feel a lot better, and constantly tried to keep your mind off things. You began spending even more time with him than you did before. Not to say you wouldn't hang out with your own twin, but it was different when you were dating Draco. And actually, you had been more busy with going on Harry's missions with Voldemort than you thought you would've been, some more dangerous than others.
Which, of course, was not in Harry's plan to distract you but that's just what was going on at the moment.
Some days were harder than others, and a part of you still feels like you needed answers or some sort of closure, but another part of you is trying its best to move on.
Since your break up, you unironically hadn't seen Draco as much as you used to when you were actively hunting him down. And when you did, it was only quick glimpses of him turning around a corner or exiting from somewhere.
Did you actually believe that Draco no longer loves you? No. You don't just wake up one day and decide you no longer lover someone. You knew something had to have happened and the more you came to terms with it, the more you just wanted to understand.
It wasn't until one night, you accidentally spent a longer time in the Slytherin Common Room than you had anticipated to. You were sitting on the couch facing the fireplace studying for an upcoming test when you heard shuffling.
Draco silently closed his dorm room door, and made his way down the stairs. Fixing the creases in his suit, he headed to exit the Slytherin Common Room.
You silently closed your book and turned around.
I shouldn't say anything. Just let him leave and go to bed - you thought to yourself.
However your lips worked faster than your brain and before you knew it, you spoke.
As he passed the main room and was about to exit, a voice he's been longing to hear snapped him out of the dark thoughts clouding his mind.
"Draco?"
He stopped on his heels, his back towards you, freezing. He was not expecting you to be up at this ungodly hour at night, let alone even in the Slytherin Common Room. You should've been in your dorm, asleep. He didn't dare turn around, instead he kept eyes glued forward. Before he could take a step, you placed your book on the couch and made your way to him and placed your hand lightly on his shoulder.
You felt him tense up.
Sliding your hand down his arm, and to his hand, you attempted to entwine your fingers. Draco gave no reaction to this, and remained limp.
Staring at the back of his perfectly kept blonde hair, you could see his jaw tensing. He wanted to say something, but kept holding himself back.
"I know the last thing you want to do is talk to me... but I would really like some ans..answers," your voice cracked- you hadn't meant for it.
You took another deep breath, trying to compose yourself. "I promise to leave you alone but can I just know if I had done something that made you treat me like this?"
You were over it. You were over being angry and upset. You wanted answers, and as each day went by you grew more and more desperate.
You were at your breaking point, actually you were past it.
His hand twitched. He wanted to pull his hand out of your grasp, tell you to go away, and walk out this door.
But he couldn't. These months were just as hard on him as it was for you.
This time, you stepped around him, facing him face to face. His lips were turned upside down into a frown, but not the angry kind. He looked depressed; completely and utterly miserable. He refused to look you in the eyes.
He knew he was going to break any moment.
Reaching up, you hesitantly cupped his cheeks with both of your shaky hands. You furrowed your eyebrows, getting a good look at his face.
His eyes were bloodshot, dull, and sunken in, with heavy bags underneath them. His skin was pale, more so than usual, making him look sickly. He looks like he hadn't ate in days and his face was so cold and skinnier than how you remember him.
He closed his eyes, fighting the battle in his mind. You let out a deep breath that you had been holding in for what felt like a long time.
"What did I do to make you fall out of love so suddenly?" you whispered, each delicate word became more quiet than the last.
You would've expected him to snap at you or push you away by now, but him not doing so tacitly confirmed that you knew something was wrong.
Instead, his eyes began to water. You lightly rubbed his cheeks with your thumbs, as it felt like he lightly sank into your touch.
"I.." he began, with a shaky voice. You caught on that he was trying to stop himself from talking.
"Please," you begged, becoming as emotional as him, "Talk to me."
The silence in the room dragged on, and the tension only grew.
And then, he gave up. He lunged forward, suddenly pulling you towards him. He wrapped his arms around you desperately, not wanting to let go. It felt like every emotion Draco kept bottled up these past months were finally being released. His cries sounded so violent, you couldn't help but cry with him, missing being in arms.
"I can't," he cried into your hair.
"You can't talk to me?"
He squeezed you tightly, sniffling.
"I can't kill you. I won't."
You froze, your heart dropping.
"W-What?"
"He-He wants me to kill you," he sobbed, wetting your Y/H/C hair with tears, "But I won't!"
This time you lightly nudged him off of you, taking a small step back. You stood there, staring at him confused. Beyond confused, actually.
You inhaled sharply, lips twitching, trying to remain calm.
"What are you talking about? He? Voldemort?"
He silently nodded his head.
You're not sure what to say. You cannot say you're shocked Voldemort wants you dead. Hell, if he wants Harry then of course he's going to want you too. But what's confusing you is if this was the case, why wouldn't Draco have told you in the first place? Unless he actually planned to do it, but stopped himself?
As Draco attempted to get closer, you snapped out of your thoughts and took a step back.
"You're scared of me." he says quietly.
It might be true. You can't really tell.
Softly, he calls your name in an attempt to get you to look at him. "Look at me, please."
Your gaze locks onto his. He's unable to read your face. He looks around the open space of the Slytherin Common Room.
"Can we go somewhere more private?"
You scoff, gaining back some of your confidence, "I am not going anywhere with you. Whatever you have to tell me, you can tell me right here."
"Y/N, I would never put you in harms way, trust me-"
"-trust you!? Now, you want me to trust you after all these months!?"
This time, he exploded. Not out of anger, but out of frustration.
"I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PROTECT YOU!"
His voice echoed off of the walls, you wouldn't be shocked if others might've been woken up.
"I have been trying to keep you safe this entire time," he choked, lowering his voice, "please."
This time you shut up, and bowed your head. He took that cue to begin walking.
The corridors exuded a serene aura when they weren't congested with student groups attempting to navigate their way around Hogwarts. Your footsteps on the chilly stone were the only sounds audible as you kept up with Draco.
The faint candles positioned on the walls provided only partial guidance in the extensive corridors. You trailed the corridors until you came to the top of the astronomy tower's stairway.
You followed him inside as he opened the hefty wooden door. Following him to the railing, he leaned over it facing the outside. You followed suit, alongside him keeping just a little distance between the two of you.
"I don't know how, but he found out we were dating," Draco began, keeping his gaze straight ahead, as the wind gently blew through his hair, "As you know, Voldemort wants your brother dead. He thought the best way to get to Harry was to get to you since you're his only family. He wanted to kidnap and use you to trap your brother."
He paused. His mouth was slightly ajar, like he was trying to find the right words to say.
"After finding out about us, he confronted me about 'hiding' you from him. So, rather than kidnapping you, he intended to kill you. But to punish me, he ordered me to be the one to do so."
The wind howled, blowing the trees, having the branches sway harshly, leaves flying all throughout the wind. Your heart began to pound as a fit of shivers shot through you, causing you to pull your cloak tighter around yourself.
"Never once was I ever going to go through with his plan. I thought trying to prove to him that I wasn't involved with you would've somehow made him change his mind. That if I could prove to him you meant nothing to me and your death wasn't worth it, but he didn't believe me. He could see right through me and threatened to kill me if I didn't kill you."
You anxiously bit your lip, this time turning to face him.
"To convince him, I had to convince myself I wasn't in love with you. I had to shut you out. I needed to convince myself that I didn't need you.. but I'll always need you. As long as you were around me, your safety was becoming constantly going to be in peril. I couldn't keep up with my plan if I was still around you."
"Why didn't you just tell me?"
He let out a breath, that almost sounded like a scoff. "How could I? I thought it would've been easiest to make you hate me."
You don't respond. The words you wanted to say, abruptly got lost inside you, scrambling around as you stare at him in the quietness resting between the two of you.
"As much as I tried, Draco, I could never hate you," you frowned.
This time, Draco turned his head and finally locked eyes with you with what felt like in forever. His watery eyes softened.
Draco stepped closer to you, and reached for you, wrapping his fingers around the back of your neck. His thumb gently pressed into your skin, making slow and deep circles. This is the closest you've felt to Draco in a while.
"You should," he whispered so quietly you almost didn't hear him. For a few moments, he just holds you. You're not quite sure whether he expects you to say anything else.
Without a second thought, you feel yourself leaning forward. He closes his eyes, fighting the pain in his mind. Your eyes flutter closed, the both of your lips so close to each other that you could feel the warmth radiating off of his lips without actually touching them.
“I love you.” You whisper, ever so slightly against his lips. He takes that as a sign to finally press your lips together. After months of being apart, the feeling of his lips against yours felt like coming home. He had been longing for your touch, he craved you every second of the day.
The kiss was desperate, as though he felt like he would lose you if he let go; a combination of fear, relief, and love seeping into the physical gesture. Draco moved his lips roughly against yours, you could taste the salt on him left from his tears, the same salty droplets still leaking from your eyes.  You deepened the kiss, grabbing onto the front of his shirt and balling it in your fists.
His hands slid down from your neck to your waist, pulling you closer as you raised your hands to his smooth platinum hair. You ran your fingers through his locks, lightly tugging.
Pulling away, you rested your forehead against his, brushing away the stray tears from his cheeks. You gave him a sad smile and kept one of your hands on his cheek.
"Next time, please, just talk to me. I would've been more understanding."
He nodded his head, turning his face slightly to press a kiss in the palm of your hand.
"I'm sorry, I was just afraid of-"
You shushed him. "You don't need to explain yourself to me anymore, I understand now. Moving forward, we need to work together through thick and thin, Draco. I knew being together wasn't going to be easy."
A small smile finally crept up on onto his lips, a smile you've been longing to see.
"I'll go through it all with you, Y/N."
Your heart fluttered, pulling him in once more for a long deserved kiss.

Wow oh wow - Please Read
Tumblr media
Y'all, it's been sooooo long, but I graduated College recently in the Fall! whooooo!
I've had quite literally no time and had also been really unmotivated to even want to begin writing more Imagines/One-Shots. I have so many drafts that are half-way done and then I just lose motivation or get writer's block and with the year I had, I just figured writing wasn't for me anymore like it used to be. Once I fall into my funk, it's really hard to get out of it.
I wanted to say, thank you to all of you who continue to read and support my work because although it may appear that I am offline, I do see all of your guys' lovely comments/messages and it warms my heart so much. It actually gives me motivation more than half the time which I why I have so many unfinished drafts, lol.
I also binged Hogwarts Legacy (shout out to y'all who played it) and it gave me more inspiration to want to complete at least one more request. And who knows, maybe I'll get more inspiration to continue completing some more!
BUT, I will say, I have a request coming out fairly soon and I am proud of myself for just about completing this one. I don't know what you guys may be expecting, but it has A LOT of angst in it, so be ready!

“Don’t you take one more step closer towards Draco,” you spat, holding your wand out in front of you.
Bellatrix let out a loud cackle and dramatically looked around. “And I suppose I’m supposed to be scared of someone like you?”
Draco and Bellatrix had gotten into a nasty fight that left her looking for him to bring him over to the Dark Lord. You didn’t know what exactly she was going to tell him or what he was going to do, but it wasn’t going to be anything good.
You didn’t care that his parents were involved with Voldemort, you had no faith whatsoever that they were going to be there for Draco because they haven’t before, what makes now any different?
“Really now, Draco. You’re going to have your little girlfriend fight your battles now?” she cackled, “You’re becoming more and more like those mudblood’s at your school.”
“He’s not my boyfriend-”
“-She’s not my girlfriend.”
“I don’t care! Draco, get over here now so you may face the the Dark Lord this instant!”
Draco’s eyes darted between you and Bellatrix. Walking backwards, you kept your eyes glued to hers as you slowly crept your way closer and closer to Draco. The three of you were in at the Atrium, alone.
“Listen, little girl, I don’t have time for this. Go on and move out of my way before I move you myself!” she shouted erratically.
“Y/N, go. I can handle myself,” Draco said to you.
“Over my dead body,” you gritted.
“Y/N..,” he muttered lowly, frozen where he was. He didn’t want to make any sudden movements for the fear of not only him getting hurt, but also you. Everyone knew how unpredictable Bellatrix was, but this didn’t stop you.
“Alright, if you say so.”
Waving her arms over her head, Bellatrix pointed her wand at you. “Avada Ked-”
“NO!” Draco shouted, running and crashing into the side of you, pushing you out the way. He just nearly dodged the curse. You felt the hardness of the floor slam into the back of your skull on impact, making you groan out in pain.
Draco was on top of you, his face just centimeters from yours. He held himself up on the palm of his hands, so he didn’t crush you completely. His face was frantic with worry. He caressed your cheek, moving the hair out of your face with one arm.
“You.. You’re okay,” he whispered, his eyes darting back and forth between yours, “You need to get out of here, I-”
Bellatrix cackled, clapping her hands together, making you turn your attention away from Draco and onto her instead. A lock of Draco’s hair was lightly feathering across your face as he turned to look as well.
“Well isn’t this cute, but I’m afraid I’ve run out of patience now.”
She began stomping up, raising her wand. Within the matter of seconds, your eyes widened, and you quickly wrapped one arm around Draco’s neck and pressed him tight against your body, having him collapse onto you. Sitting up as best as you could, you raised your other arm that held your wand tightly, and screamed at the top of your lungs.
“CRUCIO”
Your voice echoed amongst the walls, as a bright red light shot out the tip of your wand. Hitting Bellatrix right in the middle of her chest, she flew backwards writhing in pain.
Panting, you slowly lowered your wand and rested your hand against Draco’s back. He pulled away from you and examined your face. You smiled a bit as he whipped his head around, watching Bellatrix cry out.
“I can’t believe you just did that,” he breathed looking back at you, “We need to get out of here.”
You shrugged, opening your mouth to speak, when a man’s voice spoke for you.
“Y/N Y/LN.”
You both turned your heads around. Your eyes landed on leather boots. Slowly trailing up the man’s pants suit you came face to face with Cornelius Fudge and others standing behind him. The Ministry of Magic.
“S-Sir,” you stuttered as Draco moved off of you.
“You’ve just used an unforgivable curse,” he spat astonished, “This is grounds for immediate life imprisonment in Azkaban Prison.”
You quickly rose to your feet. “What!? No, you don’t understand, I was defending Draco.”
“It’s true,” Draco defended beside you, glaring at the man.
“And from who exactly?” Cornelius scoffed, opening his arms, and looking around, before back at you and raising his eyebrow. “I would’ve thought Hogwarts taught you better, especially for a Ravenclaw.”
“From Bellatrix Lestrange! She was trying to harm Draco and bring him to Voldemort,” you retorted.
“Nonsense!” he dismissed, looking back at the men behind him, and motioned them to step in.
“I swear, she’s just right over here!” you trailed towards across the room, looking for her, but she was no where in sight.
Your mouth remained gaped, turning in a circle, examining the entire Atrium. She had to have escaped, because there’s no way she would’ve just vanished into thin air from the cruciatus curse.
“Sir, you’ve got to believe me, I was protecting Draco,” you pleaded, before one of the men behind him stepped forward and roughly gripped your arm.
“Send her off to Azkaban,” Fudge dismissed and began to walk away.
“No!” you shouted as the man aggressively began dragging you away with him. You screamed while trying to stand up as he was pulling you too fast.
You flail your body around, trying to use your feet to push away from his hand, making him almost stop dragging you.
“Stop resisting!” the man shouted in a deep angered voice.
“Let me go! I didn’t do anything wrong!” you shouted right back at him.
The man roughly threw you over his shoulder, carrying you. You pounded your fists against his back as hard as you could, kicking your legs around. However, he had a firm grip around your thighs, keeping you in place, as he was walking towards one of the fireplaces.
Upon quick reflexes, Draco pulled out his wand and pointed it at the man who held onto you and spoke.
“Flipendo!”
The man knocked backwards with you flying with him. Your back crashed against a corner, making you cry out, however there wasn’t enough time to waste. Draco grabbed onto your arm and pulled you away to the other side of Floo Networks before the man could’ve gotten up.
The two of you ran as fast as you could and jumped into an empty fireplace as Draco screamed a destination, transporting the two of you away.
~*~
“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me!”
You snatched the poster off of the wall, running your eyes up and down the paper. Written in bold black words were:
WANTED Y/N Y/L/N. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS PERSON, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR NEAREST AUROR OFFICE.
"Y/N,” Draco mumbled under his breath, taking the paper from your hands. He ripped it up and crinkled it, throwing it away in the nearest bin.
“I’m a fugitive now,” you groaned, running a hand through your hair.
The two of you walked secretly through Hogsmeade on a snowy day. You had hoods concealing your faces as you’ve been keeping a low profile for a while due to obvious reasons. When Draco transported the two of you out of the Atrium, you landed headfirst right outside of Hogwarts. At first, you spent most of the time hiding inside the castle just waiting for when things would’ve calmed down by now.
Clearly, they haven't due to your face on posters everywhere.
You and Draco never really talked about that night and if anything, avoided it. You were already tense as is. You were a straight-A Ravenclaw student who never got into any trouble. Not even with your parents. And now you’re in trouble with the entire Ministry of Magic from a complete misunderstanding.
Draco, on the other hand, consistently had some sort of attitude with you. You never understood it, and he never bothered to explain himself, let alone talk about it. You tried your best to ignore his attitude, but you were over it.
“You’re not a fugitive,” he said, eyeing around, and pulled you down an empty alley and behind an abandoned building. Walking inside, you lowered your hood, brushing the snow off of your shoulders.
“We can’t hide forever,” you spoke, frustrated.
You’ve been hiding for a couple weeks now, going back and forth between this abandoned building and Hogwarts. Only to get the necessities like food or clothing. Luckily, Draco has been sticking right by you and you haven’t ran into Bellatrix or anyone else among his family.
“I don’t see a better option here, Y/N. One wrong move and you’re going straight to Azkaban,” he snapped, folding his arms over his chest.
“Why’re you acting like that,” you glared, giving him back the same energy he’s giving you.
“Like what?” he muttered, walking past you to add logs to the fireplace in the corner of the room. He lifted his wand and shot out a spark of fire, lighting up the wood and producing a warmth that will soon fill the room. He knelt down, staring into the fire.
“Like that!” you stomped, to stand beside him, “Why’re you treating me like I'm the bad guy here.”
“I’ve said no such thing,” he shrugged nonchalantly, not giving into what you want.
“You don’t need to say it Draco, I can feel it. I know this is about that night, are you mad that I defended you? Is that what this is about?”
He stayed silent, his gaze remaining on the fireplace. The flames produced a sun-kissed glow on his face, radiating warmth that filled the stilling silence.
“Are you upset that I didn’t want you to go to that monster!?”
“Enough, Y/N,” he growled.
“No! Why are you treating me like I did something wrong!? You should be thanking me!” you shouted at him, roughly pushing his shoulder, causing him to almost lose his balance.
“I don’t feel like discussing this right now, Y/N. Drop it,” he hissed, tossing a piece of rock from the floor into the fire.
You huffed, throwing your hands up in the air, pacing from one end of the room, to the other. Walking back near him, you stood, tapping your foot and crossing your arm.
“You know what, Draco. You’re unbelievable, I can’t believe that I literally almost got myself thrown in jail for you, almost got tortured for you, almost got killed for you!”
His breathing was becoming heavier as each second passed. You were getting on his nerves, and you knew this, however some kind of answer was better than no answer.
His eyes felt like daggers staring into yours when he looked at you.
“You should have just let me handle it myself,” he spat, “We wouldn’t be in this mess and hiding if you would have just listened to me.”
You scoffed, raising your eyebrow. “You would’ve just gone with Bellatrix and gotten yourself killed.”
“I would’ve been fine and you wouldn’t have a bounty on your head,” he snapped immediately, standing up and roughly poking your head back with his finger, as he muttered ‘on your head.’
Inhaling sharply, your lips twitched with anger. You were trying your best to remain calm, however your plan to evoke some kind of reaction out of him was backfiring and instead angering you.
“All this time!” you screamed into his face, “I’ve always looked out for you and you have been nothing but greedy and selfish about it! Everything I do has been for you!”
He turned away, but you reacted fast and grabbed onto his arm. He snapped immediately, and snatched his arm out of your grip, taking you by surprise.
“I’m not done talking to you-”
“-I am.”
You reached out to grab him once more but he grabbed onto your shirt and cornered you against the wall. His face was just inches from yours. His once bright silver eyes, were now a stormy shade of grey. His jaw was locked as he was fuming with anger while he towered over you.
You’ve never seen him this angry with you.
“I said I’m done with his conversation,” he gritted through his teeth, before roughly letting go of your shirt.
You scoffed, smirking and looking to the side. “Yeah, sure. Go ahead and push me away like you have with everyone else in your life.”
You pushed off of the wall, away from him, and headed for the door. That must've been the last straw because Draco then whipped out his wand, but you were quicker than him and pulled yours out too.
“Stupefy!” He shouted, angrily.
Gasping you, just barely shielded yourself yelling, “Protego!”
Silence filled the room. You couldn’t believe he just did that. Was he really trying to hurt you right now.
Your best friend.
Your. Best. Friend.
“How... DARE YOU!” you shouted, flicking countless spells in his direction that he deflected each one away. You don’t even know which ones you were yelling, you were just so mad that he tried to hurt you.
“I CAN HANDLE MYSELF! I DON’T NEED YOU!” he screamed, staring at you with what you assumed was pure hatred.
“THEN I’LL GO!” you yelled, tears brimming in your eyes, finally lowering your wand. “Azkaban seems a whole lot better than being in the same room as you!”
Pushing your wand up your sleeve, you turned away and finally headed towards the door. Not bothering to grab your hood, you opened the door and slammed it shut as hard as you could.
~*~
The snow crunched under your feet throughout the freezing night. You clutched your arm close to yourself, trying to preserve any sort of warmth you could. You were mentally cursing your stubbornness knowing that you should’ve grabbed your hood, not only for secrecy but also for warmth.
But you would rather freeze here than stay under the same roof as Draco.
You’ve been wandering around for at least a day if not more and didn’t know where you were going. There weren’t any clear walkways due to the blizzard ripping throughout the night. Since leaving Draco, you had gone through a forest and eventually wandered into a small town. The only light illuminating the roads were scarce street lights and the glow from the moon and stars. It almost seemed like an abandoned village, but it was also the middle of the night so you didn’t expect anyone to be out.
With all of the snow blazing, you needed to find somewhere and fast before you got frostbite. As the storm continued at its pace, you saw a cabin up ahead and closed your eyes briefly in bliss.
Thank Merlin.
Finally reaching the cabin, you held out your wand towards the handle.
“Alohomora,” you whispered. The door clicked and unlocked. Placing your icy hand on the metal handle, you twisted it open and stepped inside before closing it softly behind yourself.
Looking around, there wasn’t any presence of life besides yourself. It was pitch black, without a single light in sight. You let out a breath of relief and walked straight to the kitchen on the other side of the room. It was a really small space, but you didn’t mind as it was only you here after all.
It was a single story that had a few hallways. One of them leading to some sort of bedroom you assumed and a bathroom. The living room was across the way, almost connected to the kitchen. Turning on the water, you held your hands under the stream.
It didn’t take long for the water to turn warm, providing immediately ease to the cold. You hummed in contentment, before turning it off and running your warm hands down your face.
Exiting the kitchen, you looked at the mess rattling around the floor. Papers, books, and some broken furniture was everywhere slovenly. It seems like this place was robbed or destroyed of some sort. Only further adding to your theory that this place was empty.
Walking to the living room, you sat down on the small couch and rested your head on the arm rest.
Could you have gone to the bedroom? Sure. But you didn’t plan to stay for that long anyways and being near the door was your best option of escaping at any given point.
Luckily there was a quilt on the couch that you pulled closer and over your body. Tucking your knees into your chest, you let out a sigh sitting in the stilling silence, except for the howling blizzard outside. You were exhausted not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
You couldn’t find it in your brain to figure out what you did wrong. Sure, you used an unforgivable curse, but it was out of self-defense.
Not that he even deserved it anyways.
You closed your eyes and left them that way. You were dozing off and allowed yourself to finally be consumed by sleep.
~*~
“She’s gotta be in there!”
“Would you be quiet!”
Your eyes shot open, and you grabbed your wand that was underneath you. Slowly moving the blanket off of you, you crawled down onto the floor on all fours. Light illuminated through the window that was just behind the couch. You quickly ducked, feeling your heart pump against your chest, so violently that you could feel your pulse throbbing in your throat.
Whoever it was has to be with the Ministry of Magic. How did they even find you.
“Do you see anything?”
THUD.
“Ow!”
“Shut up!”
“Shit..” you muttered under your breath. You had to move quickly and now. Crawling, you went across the room and into the kitchen to hide behind the counter tops. Pressing your back against the cabinet near the floor, you held your breath.
The door clicked, indicating someone was coming in. You mentally cursed yourself as you held your wand close to your body. There was only one way in and out, and unless you wanted to jump through a window, there was no other way to leave. You were going to have to face them one way or another.
Footsteps thumped against the hardwood floor, steadily. You could tell they were trying their best to stay quiet because it would become dead silent for moments, and the footsteps would continue every so often.
Soon enough, you heard them going down one of the hallways and into the bedroom. This is going to be your only chance to escape.
Briskly getting onto your feet, you sped across the room and to the front door. Throwing it open, the blizzard was still blazing as hard as ever. The harsh winds caused the door to loudly slam against the wall, giving away any sense of secrecy. Mentally cursing yourself, you ran a hand down your face to wake yourself up. You were still hazy from being woken up just moments ago.
The men began running away from the bedroom and instead closer to you.
Without turning around, you sprinted.
“HEY! STOP!”
You ran as fast as you could while also shielding your face from the pestering snow, it almost becoming painful. You pushed every muscle to the max, widening your strides.
You ran through the dimly lit streets, throwing whatever spells you could behind you to buy you more time. You kept turning around different corners in an attempt to lose the men who were chasing you, however this almost made you lose your footing due to the ice coating the floor.
You eventually ran all the way to the forest you met just a day or so prior. Just enough light from the moon allowed you to see well enough to avoid running into a tree. However, some branches that were hidden in the shadows cut you as the forest seemed to get darker with every step you took.
You never slowed down, tripping over the occasional trunks that stuck out of the once-mushy woodland ground that was now beginning to ice over. Suddenly, you dropped onto the cold earth under you as a result of your foot becoming trapped in a hole on the ground that was deeper than it had appeared to be in the gentle moonlight above. You let out a silent cry in pain as you crawled forward, dragging your foot out of the pit. You limped, with no time to waste.
Eventually, your sides started to cramp, and breathing became difficult. You stopped moving and crouched down behind a tall tree trunk, bracing yourself against your knees, ignoring the pain coursing through your ankle.
In an effort to conceal your presence, you tried to suppress your panting. You examined what little of the forest you could see as you peeked around the tree. There was no sign of the men who had been pursuing you. Letting out a huge sigh of relief, you turned back around, leaning against the tree your chest rising and falling rapidly.
Just as you were about to wipe the dirt off of your face, a hand clamped down over your mouth. You were about to scream when you heard-
“Y/N, it’s alright. It’s me.”
Turning your head, you locked eyes with Draco. There he stood, right next to you. He let his hand fall from your face as you examined him up and down. You furrowed your eyebrows, looking behind you and back at him.
“H-How did you-” you stopped to cough, your voice hoarse from all the running, “How did you find me.”
He softly held your face in hands, turning you slightly as he inspected your face. Fresh cuts and dirt from the branches littered your face and body. You pushed his hands away from you and looked to the side, his hands lowering.
“I shortly followed you after you stormed out the other day but I lost you,” he began.
Your face contorted into confusion, before you rolled your eyes and glared at him.
“That doesn’t explain how you found me, but it doesn’t even matter,” you mumbled stubbornly, “I don’t want to talk to you, I thought I made that perfectly clear.”
Putting your hands on the floor, you attempted to stand up. He held out his hand, but you ignored it and used the tree for support instead. Leaning on your one good foot, you crossed your arms over your chest. He stood in front of you.
Draco shook his head. “Y/N-”
“No," you snapped, “Correct me if I’m wrong, but you made it quite clear that you don’t need me.”
“I didn’t mean-”
“And you know what! You have some nerve coming all the way out here when it was you who said you could handle yourself. So why do you bother looking for me to begin with.”
“If you would just let me-”
“Like, c’mon Draco! What can I possible be to you when you’ve been nothing but unsupportive when I almost gave my life to save you!”
“I-”
“Not to mention, that you literally tried harming me with-”
CRUNCH.
You gasped, turning around and instinctively flew into Draco’s arms when two men emerged from behind you, the floor crunching underneath them. Draco held onto you protectively when the men came closer breathing rather heavily.
One of them collapsed onto the floor on their hands and knees heaving, while the other leaned against the tree directly across from you two, holding himself up with his arm and the other on his hip.
“M-Malfoy, I’m sorry bu-but,” the man against the tree wheezed, out of breath, “She’s re-really fast.”
“I’m gonna hurl,” the one on the floor grumbled, still trying to catch their breath.
You felt Draco’s chest rumble against your back as he chuckled. It was still dark, so it was hard to make out their faces. Confused, you looked up at Draco and back at the men.
“What’s going on,” you asked.
“If you would have let me speak, you would’ve known that I sent Crabbe and Goyle to look for you,” Draco answered.
You shook your head in disbelief. “Goyle..?”
“Yes,” Goyle panted against the tree trunk.
“Crabbe..”
“Mhm.” Crabbe said not looking up from the floor and instead motioning a thumbs up, still on the verge of vomiting.
Sudden realization hit you that you were still in Draco’s arms. You cleared your throat and took a step away from him, having his arms fall to his side. Standing on your good leg, you kept a little distance between the two of you. Your face was hot with embarrassment.
“When I couldn’t find you, I needed help, so I called them. We sought out in different directions, assuming you couldn’t have gotten that far. Eventually we met up in that town just down there, and split up to look for you. When I left one house, I saw you running down the street and I followed you from a distance because I wasn’t trying to startle you,” Draco confessed.
“I nearly lost my hand running after you because of the spells you were throwing at us,” Goyle said.
“And my dinner,” Crabbe mumbled, still nauseous.
Guilt coated your chest. “I’m sorry,” you apologized, your voice considerably more quiet than it had been seconds ago.
Draco cleared his throat gaining the attention of Crabbe and Goyle.
“Do you mind giving us a little privacy,” he said.
They nodded as Goyle helped Crabbe to his feet. They began to walk to some other part of the forest, their heavy breathing drifted the further they walked. Soon it was you and Draco alone once again.
You huffed through your nose and shifted your weight. A sharp pain shot up your leg, reminding you about your swollen ankle, having you silently cry out in pain. Almost losing your footing, Draco immediately noticed and held onto your arms steadying you.
“You’re hurt,” he frowned, feeling guilty this time.
Avoiding eye contact, you tried balancing on your own and away from his touch. “I’m fine.”
Draco closed the distance between the two of you, and firmly held onto you. He shook his head.
"Y/N, stop it. You're hurt, here." He grabs the shirt he was wearing and rips off a thick piece of cloth from it. Draco bends down, the top of his head now becoming your line of vision, and he lightly grabs onto your calf, raising it. You didn’t fight him off this time.
He looks up at you, concern lacing his eyes.
“Where does it hurt?”
You hesitate before answering but give in.
“My ankle,” you whisper. He looks back down and took off your shoe. He began binding it with tightly, having you wince and eyes water. You sniffled, barely realizing your eyes were watery, wiping your nose on the back of your hand.
Was it because of the pain or Draco.
Maybe a little bit of both.
“M’sorry, it needs to be tight until I can take you to better care,” he apologized.
After he finished, he slipped your shoe back on and stood up. You nodded, holding your arms close to yourself and looking to the side, a few tears lightly trailing down the side of your face.
Why do you feel so shy around him suddenly.
Draco’s face now just centimeters from you, lightly grabs your chin between his thumb and pointer finger. You can feel his breath fanning over your face. You don’t pull away from him this time. He then cups your cheeks with his hands.
“Y/N,” he whispered softly. You blinked up at him with blurred vision. He wiped away your tears with his thumbs and frowns. You held onto his arm.
“What you did,” you began, “What you said. It really stung deep, Draco.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to harm you. I was just so angry at you for putting yourself in harms way, but more so mad at myself for allowing you to be in that position to begin with. I don’t know what I would’ve done with myself if you had actually gotten hurt or worse, killed. All because of me. You didn’t deserve any of it.”
You wanted to look down, however he kept a firm, but soft, grip on your face keeping eye contact.
“You can’t stand here and tell me you wouldn’t do the same if I were in your shoes,” you frowned. His lips fell into a straight line and he grimly nodded.
“I most likely would have,” he admitted.
The wind howled, swaying the trees. The cold, chilling air once again took its place surrounding you, filling in moments of silence. Swallowing, you took a shaky breath.
“Draco, I'd never let anything happen to you,” your voice wavered.
“As I wouldn’t either. I’m deeply, truly, sorry about almost hitting you with stupefy. I don’t have any excuse other than I was so blinded with rage, I let my emotions get the best of me. Y/N, forget everything I said, because I didn’t mean any of it. When you left, I felt immediate regret and couldn’t bare that you were out there all on your own,” he says without hesitation.
He holds eye contact with you, waiting for you to say something. You bit the inside of your cheek, not knowing exactly what to say in the moment. Of course what happened was not okay, but you could see and feel the guilt emitting off of him.
“Y/N, I am so ashamed of how I acted towards you. You are my best friend and I am truly the worst one there ever is to exist in the history of best friends,” he frowned.
You blink, a small smile forming on your lips.
“So, I guess you need me after all then,” you whispered.
Tears began slowly collecting in Draco’s eyes. He dropped his hands to your waist, as yours wrapped around his neck, pulling you in close for an embrace.“I need you, Merlin, I need you so damn much, words cannot express.”
The two of you stayed in each others arms, lightly swaying from side to side for a moment before pulling away. Looking at you with loving eyes, Draco spoke once more.
“Forgive me?”
“Of course, Draco. I could never stay mad at you-”
“OH MY MERLIN, CRABBE’S PASSED OUT AFTER THROWING UP!” Goyle yelled somewhere in the distance from wherever he was.
You and Draco held your breath for a moment, before you snorted and he let out a small chuckle, leaning his forehead against yours.
“Maybe next time you try hunting me down with Crabbe and Goyle, make them announce themselves, so I can avoid making them chase after me,” you joked.
“I should’ve known,” he laughed, “There won’t be a next time. Now c’mon, lets get you out of here.”
He bent down to pick you up with one arm under your knees and the other on your back since you were unable to walk. Holding you bridal style, he held you close to his chest, not letting you go and off to find Goyle and a passed out Crabbe.

hey guys,
given what’s been going on in the US right now, I have this one request that’s been in my inbox for a while however it discusses the terms around teenageish-pregnancy and abortion. There is absolutely no hate to the person who’s requested it, but I feel morally obligated to ask those who read my fics.
I would just like to know where your guys comfort levels are at, and if you would be okay reading content like that right now.
(I would also just like to preface that I am a hardcore pro-choice feminist and if you are uncomfortable or disagree with that then by all means, no one is forcing you to read or support my content)
Let me know below whether it be with a heart or comment, thanks!

“You will be completing this project in partners,” Professor Snape spoke aloud.
You smiled to yourself grabbing Draco’s hand under the table and giving it a light squeeze while the rest of the class let out a murmur of cheers. He squeezed your hand back, keeping his focus on Snape.
Almost every project the two of you had together, you aced. Draco was really smart, more than he let off. He was the brains behind the projects. You were creative and provide a new perspective on things Draco never could have imagined on his own. The two of you were a perfect match. It was also an excuse to get to spend more time with each other after hours. If caught, the two of you could blame it on “studying.”
No one ever questioned it. It was a win-win.
“Looks like this is going to be an easy A,” you purred in his ear, quietly. He gave you a smile in agreement. Snape’s grim face remained emotionless as he spoke once more.
“I will be assigning your partners-”
The class groaned.
“-Collect your things to sit next to your partner once I call your pair.”
Your head snapped back towards the front of the room. Uneasiness settled in your stomach. Every partner project was always with who you were sitting with, which was Draco. Why was this time any different?
Your grip on Draco’s hand loosened in disappointment. He raised your hand to his lips and pressed a chaste kiss against your knuckles before lowering your hand back under the table.
Snape began reading numerous names of partners. You bit your lip in anticipation to who you were going to get partnered with.
“Draco Malfoy... you are going to be with Astoria Greengrass.”
Your face hardened as Draco stood up to move.
Her?
Of all people, her?
Draco and Astoria had a past. You knew they grew up together, and were very close with each others families. You could sense that Astoria always had a crush on Draco, and is ultimately just waiting for the two of you to break up. However you didn’t know if the feelings were reciprocated. Draco consistently assured you that there was nothing between them and that all his feelings are promised to you. Of course you trusted him, you just didn’t trust her.
Draco gave you an assuring nod, and sat down next to Astoria- which just so happened to be all the way in the back of the class.
Snape read off a few more partners before finally settling on your name.
“Y/N Y/L/N...”
Your eyes darted around the room. Almost everyone had a partner and there was no one left over. Were you going to be by yourself? You didn’t mind, but having a partner would certainly make whatever task at hand easier. Maybe even joining another pair and making it a group of three.
Continuing to survey the room, you eyes landed towards the right side of the classroom.
No. There’s no way.
“You are going to be paired with Harry Potter.”
You made eye contact with Harry as you watched him stand up. He walked over to come and sit next to you as he gave you a shy smile. Returning the favor, you looked at your hands folded in your lap.
You didn’t have anything against him, as a matter of fact, you thought that he was a pretty funny guy. However, you’ve always kept your distance in respect to Draco. You didn’t know much about their feud, but you knew enough that Harry was basically Draco’s worst enemy.
You craned your neck to look at Draco and felt him burning holes through the back of Harry’s head. Giving him a weak smile, you returned facing towards the front of the classroom.
Snape went around handing each pair papers for the assignment waiting to come.
Harry shyly turned to look at you.
“Y/L/N,” he greeted with a small smile.
“Please, call me Y/N,” you returned as Snape placed a few papers on the desk in front of the two of you.
On instinct, just as you were reaching forward to grab the papers, so did Harry. Your hands brushed against each other and you immediately pulled away.
“Sorry, you go ahead,” you apologized.
“No, that’s alright. You can go for them,” he chuckled, shrinking back a bit.
You both took a pause, before letting out a breath of laughter. Shaking your head, you reached for the papers and began to read it. The project was basically just a huge research paper that the two of you have to do together and create a presentation on it. Sounded like a piece of cake.
For the remainder of the class, you went over the instructions with Harry and basically planned out how you were going to go about the project. All of your worries and concerns were pushed out the window when you both kept piggy-backing off each others ideas. You had more in common than you thought.
This was going to be a piece of cake. The only extra step you had to take would be the two of you meeting outside of class to get the project done and do the required research.
Soon enough, Snape announced the end of class, however you and Harry didn’t notice until moments after when the classroom became silent. You were too lost in conversation, until you you began looking around. There was no one there, not even Draco. You collected your things and stood up with Harry.
“Well, look at that,” you grinned.
“Time flew by,” he chuckled.
You pushed some of your hair behind your ear, walking side by side towards the exit. “It really did, so tomorrow after school, want to meet at the library to get some work done?”
He nodded. “Sounds like a plan, see you then, Y/N,” he chirped, patting your shoulder and strolling off. You smiled to yourself, taking one step outside of the classroom, before gasping.
“Enjoy your little moment with Potter in there,” Draco spat out of the blue, startling you.
You had your hand over your chest, breathing in and out to catch your breath. “Draco!” you gasped, “You scared me!” You turned to face him. On his face was a hard glare as he was leaned up against the side of the wall, right next to the door.
The moment that class ended, Draco immediately gathered his things and waited for you outside of the classroom. He was waiting there for a while. Two minutes went by, and you weren’t there. Then three, then four, and finally five minutes when Potter had finally stepped out. He ended up going the opposite direction from where Draco was standing and never even noticed him in the first place. Draco was growing impatient and was just about to leave when he finally saw you take your first step out of the classroom.
You noticed his cold temperament, and playfully rolled your eyes. You threw your arms around his neck, pressing yourself against his chest. He kept his hands inside his pockets, glaring at you.
“Well.”
“Well, nothing Draco. We were talking about the project and lost track of time, that’s all,” you spoke innocently, not giving in to his temper. You knew that when Draco gets in these moods, the best thing was to not egg him on. You reached on your tippy-toes and pressed a quick kiss to the tip of his nose.
His stare remained hard, but the fine lines around his eyebrows began to disappear telling you that his anger was diminishing.
“You were in there for an awfully long time,” he continued.
“Maybe like three minutes-”
“Five.”
“Okay, five, but nothing more. I’m sorry, my love,” you cheekily smiled, pressing your nose against his and hovering your lips just close enough to almost touch.
He didn’t lean forward. You knew this was just him being stubborn.
“Oh, c’monnn. Don’t be jealous, give me a kiss,” you smiled. He scoffed.
“Jealous? I am not jealous of him.”
You rolled your eyes and was about to give up when he let out a sigh through his nose and roughly wrapped one of his arms around your waist to pull you closer and place a kiss on your lips. Your lips molded together just for a moment, before he pulled away and took his hand into yours.
Walking down the corridor, you kept a smile on your lips, keeping close to Draco.
The next following days, you were kept busy with assignments on top of more assignments. Your windows of free time had drastically reduced to almost no time at all. To Draco’s dismay, most of it was spent with Harry. And when you would have free time, you would go to Draco just to be rejected by him leaving to go be with Astoria.
You must admit, it stung every time that he said he was going to hang out with Astoria instead of you. However, you figured the way you’re feeling is probably the same way that he feels when you leave to hang out with Harry.
“Are we on for this afternoon?” Draco spoke aloud.
You shook your head, frowning. “I’m sorry, my love, I can’t. I’m meeting with Harry to go over our project.”
He rolled his eyes, his demeanor becoming cold. You could feel the tension radiating off of him.
“You’ve already met with him for the last few days, Y/N. Who’re you dating, me or that Scarhead.”
“That’s a ridiculous question and you know it,” you snapped. You took his hand into yours and press your cheek into his palm. He remained stoic, before giving in and bringing you into his arms.
Eventually, this ended up going on for about a week, however, by then your free time opened up and somehow Draco remained busy. Even more so than before.
Just passing him in the hallways, he wouldn’t even smile at you, let alone glance. He wouldn’t speak to you at all.
On another instance, you would normally be in his dorm chilling with him reading a book before dozing off for bed. However, one time he came back late and you stayed up waiting for him. He came in through the door, promptly changing into his night clothes and didn’t acknowledge your presence.
Instead he climbed into bed, turning his back to you, and immediately went to sleep. You turned towards him, pressing a kiss against the back of his head, before turning back around and going to sleep yourself. You figured that he was really tired and would tell you about his day the next morning.
This never ended up happening, and he was gone before you even opened your eyes.
One other time during the week that almost threw you off the edge was when you had asked Draco during lunch if he wanted to take a stroll with you through Hogsmeade. He declined claiming he was busy, just for you to see him hanging out with Astoria later on. He never noticed you, but she did. Astoria gave you a smirk, before batting her eyes and going back to talking with your boyfriend.
You intended on ignoring Draco for the rest of that day, not that it mattered. You eventually caught on that he was intentionally ignoring you.
The following week, you sat next to Draco pushing around the peas on your plate, with an unamused expression on your face. It was a big day for Draco as today was the day that Slytherin was going up against Ravenclaw in Quidditch for their tournament. They needed to win to make it to playoffs. Normally, he would be talking to you about his strategy and what he planned on doing, but of course, he was silent with you. This time, you turned to face him.
“Draco.”
He lifted up his fork to put a carrot into his mouth. You grumbled and tried again.
“Draco, would you look at me, please.”
He turned to look at you this time, with a monotonous expression. You had at least expected some kind of word to come out of his mouth, but at least this was something.
“What’s going on with you? You’ve been ignoring me for weeks and-”
He turned his head, going back to eating and didn’t bother to look at you anymore. Your mouth hung open in the middle of your sentence, but you closed it.
Now he was just being plain disrespectful.
You slammed your fork down onto the table in frustration, causing your silverware to clatter, catching the attention of others sitting at the table. You collected your things, standing up, and stormed out of the Great Hall.
Your eyes stung with tears threatening to spill, but you didn’t dare. You did nothing wrong and did not deserve whatever was going on inside of his platinum head. Instead, you carried on with the rest of your day without making an effort to see him.
~*~
Towards the end of the day, you remained by yourself in the Slytherin Common Room. You overhead a couple of first years cheering that Slytherin ended up winning playoffs and were celebrating somewhere in the castle. You didn’t bother going to the celebration because it’s not as if Draco was going to listen to you congratulating him. You didn’t care much for sports, and the only reason you would’ve gone would’ve been for him.
Maybe Astoria was hanging onto his arm congratulating him for you. Just thinking about it made your blood boil.
You were just about dozing off on the couch when you heard doors roughly slam open, jolting you awake. Your back was to them, so you didn’t see who came in.
You heard loud stomping and giggles entering the room, getting closer with each step. You rubbed your tired eyes, and craned your neck to peer at who came in and to your surprise, it was Draco.
Your boyfriend, if you could even call him that now.
“Y/N,” he loudly sighed, dragging his feet and sloppily sitting down next to you on the couch.
“Y/N.. Y/N... Y/N..,” he mumbled over and over. He hunched over, putting all of his weight on you and you could smell the liquor on his breath.
“Draco,” you grumbled, trying to get him to sit up straight. At first he sat up straight, and then fell onto you again... and then sat up straight, and fell onto you... and did it again.
You stifled back your smile, trying to remain serious. “Draco! Are you drunk right now?”
He chuckled, ignoring your question, and finally sat up for good this time. Actually, he stood up, wobbling from side to side. You quickly stood up, catching him in your arms before he tumbled backwards. Taking a good look at him, his hair was disheveled and he could barely keep his eyes open. His shirt was slightly unbuttoned, and his tie was undone, loosely hanging around his neck.
“Merlin... what is the meaning of this,” you huffed.
“Didn’t you hear, baby, we won,” he slurred, leaning down for a kiss, but you turned your face, allowing his lips to connect with your cheek. He pulled away, frowning. The way ‘baby’ slid off of his lips made you frown because this wasn’t sober Draco talking to you. This wasn’t right.
“Yeah, I heard about it,” you began.
Then his demeanor changed.
“An...And I was looking for you in the crowd...” he mumbled, “But you weren’t there.”
This time you stayed quiet. You felt terrible, but it wouldn’t have mattered because it’s not like he was talking to you beforehand.
“I almost fell off my broom getting hit by a bludger just looking find you,” he said under his breath.
All that was heard was the flickering of the fire in the common room. Everyone else had already gone to bed when you were knocked out on the couch moments ago, or are still out partying.
“Let get you to bed,” you sighed, beginning to tug him along.
“No!” he halted, walking backwards and falling down against the couch. You let out a squeal as he took you down with him, leaving you to straddle his lap.
Merlin, you were too exhausted for this.
“Goodness, Draco!” He sat up right, with his arms loosely around your waist. Unamused, you crossed your arms. When you attempted to move, he would tighten his grip and pout.
“I don’t have time for this, why don’t you go and ask Astoria to take care of you,” you mumbled under your breath, looking to the side.
“Why on Merlin’s sake would I want her,” he grimaced.
You scoffed throwing your hands up in the air briefly. You knew arguing with a drunk person would lead to nowhere, but you were too frustrated to care.
“That’s what I’ve been wondering too! You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with her instead of your own girlfriend, if I can even call myself that anymore!”
He giggled, shaking his head. You raised your eyebrow irritated.
“You find this funny?”
“Did you know you crinkle your nose a lot when you’re upset? You’re so cute when you’re mad, hey what do you say we go out right now and get a few drinks,” he slurred. You rolled your eyes, and grabbed onto his hands, attempting to peel them away from your waist.
“Enough Draco, I’ve had enough. You’ve been ignoring me for weeks on end, without so much as an explanation as to why, and then you try and act like everything is normal right now?! Well I’ll tell you one thing, and it’s not-”
“Please stay.”
His eyes were glossed and he held you tight to him. Those two words tugged at your heart strings because you could feel the sorrow emitting off of him. He buried his face into the crook of your neck, not letting go. You exhaled and instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck.
He didn’t move from this position. It went quiet for a very long time. You didn’t know if he fell asleep, zoned out, or just wanted silence. All you knew was that you missed his touch, his presence, his time, and that in this very moment, it felt like you had your Draco back.
After moments of silence, he finally spoke up. Sobering up a bit, he pulled away, gazing into your glossy Y/C/E eyes.
“I’m sorry.”
You didn’t say anything and let him continue.
“I didn’t mean to ignore you for as long as I did, but I was hurt. You were constantly leaving me for Potter and I didn’t know what to do with myself. You looked so much happier with him every time I saw the two of you together and I thought you would be better off without me.” He avoided eye contact with you, sobering up a little bit, and kept his gaze down.
You placed your hands on his cheeks, lowering your face to look at him in his eyes. You knew he was very vulnerable right now.
“Hey..,” you hushed, keeping your voice light, “Look at me.”
He darted his eyes to glance at you.
“I never in a million years would choose Harry Potter over you. I love you and only you, Draco Malfoy. You have my heart and I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you. I’m only around him because I’m trying to get an A on this project. I wish you would have just come to me so that we could’ve talked this out.”
“I tried,” he defended, “But you were always busy and had to rush away to Potter, so I decided to keep myself busy as well.”
“Draco.. it seemed like you were trying to make me jealous of Astoria just because I was hanging out with Harry. That wasn’t very nice of you and it really hurt my feelings. You know how I feel about her, and she knows as well. She would see me upset that the two of you were together and taunt it in my face.”
This time he stayed quiet.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled once more. He didn’t know what else to say. He knew he was in the wrong and he wasn’t trying to hurt you any further than he already has.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. You didn’t deserve it, I don’t deserve you. You could do so much better without me and find someone who is better worth your time...”
At this point, these were just drunk words rambling off of Draco’s guilty conscious. It was breaking your heart to see him this way. He kept rambling on and on, until you pressed your finger to his lips to shush him. His glossy eyes locked with yours once more.
“I’m not going to say it’s okay, because it’s not. But I forgive you.”
He shook his head. “I don’t deserve your forgiveness,” he drunkenly mumbled.
You stifled back a laugh this time. You could get use to drunk Draco.
He pulled you tight to him once more. “I love you so much... I love you... I love you..” he mumbled over and over.
You smiled, cupping his cheek, and ran your thumb along his bottom lip. You could feel his hunger and eagerness. You bring your lips closer to his, just close enough for your lips to almost touch as your hand is now caressing slowly down from his cheek, to his neck, to his chest. His grip tightened. Every time he leaned slightly forward to fill the gap, you would pull back just enough to keep the tension.
“Y/N...,” he whimpered.
You leaned forward brushing your lips against his this time, and pulled back just enough to deny him his desire of a kiss. His grasp tightens on you again, before you ultimately giggle to yourself and finally cave in. He moves forward eagerly, meeting your lips hungrily to his. What would’ve been a sweet delicate kiss, turned into a fiery passion of desire.
As he lowers your head down to press a passionate kiss to your lips, you grasp his broad shoulders. His tongue slipped into your mouth, exploring every inch of it like he’s done multiple times before. You tasted the alcohol on his breath, letting you know just how intoxicated he really was. He didn’t know what to do with himself. The warmth and dampness of his lips made you moan against him. He turned his head to give you a deeper kiss.
You press your chest against his, wanting to feel more of him. Your hands glide up towards his platinum locks and begin to lightly tug at it, receiving a moan in response from him. You whimper faintly and clench your hips at his reaction. He kisses you again deeply, sighing quietly as you nip his bottom lip, pulling away for some air. He looks up at you, his eyes clouded and his cheeks rosy. His hair was all over the place from you running your hands through them.
Catching your breath, you speak.
“As much as I would love to continue this, it’s late and you need to get to bed,” you taunt.
His mouth opens agape, as his cheeks remain flushed. You could feel his hard-on right underneath you and as much as you wanted more, this would be punishment enough for him.
“You’re joking,” he gaped, grabbing your waist to pull you closer to him again. You put your hands on his chest to stop him from pulling you closer.
“Nope.” His arms sunk from around you in disbelief. You took this opportunity to stand up as you pressed one last longing kiss to his lips.
“C’mon,” you held your hands out for him to grab. He begrudgingly grabbed onto you and stands up, having to readjust himself.
“Consider this punishment for what you put me through, my love,” you giggled whilst he groaned in response, stomping towards his dorm room.

Help me Decide :)
I’m working on two ideas, pretty basic, but I have a vision and don’t know which one I wanna do more.
What would you want to read next?
Draco’s giving you the silent treatment.
OR!
Either you coming back drunk/shit-faced and Draco takes care of you; or vice versa where Draco comes home drunk/shit-faced and you take care of him.

I Deserve Better Part 2 - Draco Malfoy x Reader
Request: Part 2 of I deserve better (Draco Malfoy)? I could imagine him, although quite out of character, to prove himself by kissing the reader in the middle of the great hall where everyone can see them and proving that he isn’t embarrassed - Anon
Warnings: angsty angst, fluffy fluff
Part 1
Tumblr media
While you pushed the food around your plate with your fork, your head rested in your hand. Gina kept an eye on you as you shifted your carrots from one side of the dish to the other, waiting for the right moment to speak up. You had told her the gist of what happened between you and Draco. Well, not all of it because you liked to keep most matters private, but she knew that you had broken up with him due to his lack of integrity and affection. Draco was never Gina's favorite, and most people weren't either, but she accepted him since he had to have some redeeming qualities to even have a chance with you.
With a sigh, you place your fork down and stared blankly at the wooden table that had suddenly captured your attention. You were sitting at a cafe in Hogsmeade. It has only been a couple days. A couple of long, miserable days. You've been avoiding Draco, so you don't know how he's been doing, but he hasn't made any attempt to come see you either.
“Go on and eat your food. How did he handle it? Did he seem bothered at all?” Gina ushered, taking a sip of her latte. You reluctantly took a bite before wiping the crumbs away from the corners of your mouth.
“I want to say he took it poorly, but it seems like he only cared about himself and his reputation, as usual,” you frowned, “I was just tired of living in his shadow. I want to be shown off and not constantly feel like I’m last on his list, but I can’t help but sometimes think that maybe I’ve made a mistake..”
Gina choked on her sip and put down her cup, looking at you like you were crazy.
“A mistake? Y/N, what on Merlin are you talking about? He was not treating you how you deserved to be treated and you honestly went way below your standards giving him a chance with you after all.”
“You’re just saying that because you don’t like him. I’m just saying that maybe if I had just bit my tongue and-”
He took a stride closer to you and held onto the side of your arms. He was hurting on the inside. “Y/N, you don’t mean that. You know I love you.”
“-If I had just bit my tongue and given him more time, we would still be together. What if I’m overreacting?”
Gina placed her hand on top of yours, giving you a soft squeeze. “Y/N, sweetie, listen to me. This,” she motioned with her other free hand up and down, “is your heartbreak speaking. Let’s remember why you did what you did, okay?”
“Has he taken you out on a date in the last, I don't know, two weeks?”
You shook your head.
“In the last month?”
You shook your head once again, frowning. The last time you two went on a date, you were almost caught by someone and from then, he never asked you out on a date since.
“Okay, is he mindful of your emotions and how you’re feeling?”
You beamed your head up, sitting straighter in your chair, nodding. “I would say he does-”
“Ah, let me rephrase that, does he take your feelings into consideration when pressuring you to stay hidden behind him when it's not all just for his own benefit?"
You sunk back down into your chair, remaining quiet. Gina took your silence as an answer. You bit the inside of your cheek, reflecting on your relationship with him.
“And most importantly, Y/N, can you confidently say he would even remember your anniversary date given that everything has been so secretive?”
“No, I don’t think so,” you whispered. You wanted to say yes, but you were doubting everything in your relationship at this point. Was any of it real? Your eyes were stinging with emotion, but you were tired of crying. You didn’t have any energy left to exert.
“Sweetie, these are a few of the bare minimums that are expected in a relationship. I'm not sure what you could possible miss if he prioritizes his reputation over your guys' relationship.”
“Yeah, I guess so,” you muttered. Your feelings for him are not going to disappear just like that. No one knows the soft side of him like you do, and that’s what keeps you holding on. Of course, his harsh exterior would make anyone stray far from him, but it’s the inside and kind side of him that brings you back. You couldn’t expect anyone else to understand.
“I know you love him, but you need to remember that you come first and until he treats you like his priority, then-”
“Y/N.”
Gina's speech was cut short by the voice you'd been hoping to hear days ago. Your gaze slowly followed up his body and settled on his face as both of your heads pivoted. Gina looked at him with a disgusted grimace, while you were motionless. Your demeanor, on the other hand, was clearly despondent.
“Y/N, let’s go,” Gina urged, standing up to reach for your hand to pull you away. You slowly put your hand in hers.
Draco ignored her and focused on you. “Can we talk?”
“I don’t see what else there is to talk about you prick,” Gina answered for you, glaring at him.
He was becoming visibly irritated but you knew he was doing his best to keep his composure. You could see the tightening in his jaw and deepening of his voice that only does when he gets frustrated.
Huffing through his nose, he spoke again to you. “Will you give me a couple minutes?”
Gina scoffed. “You seem like the type to only need a couple minutes.”
You closed your eyes for a brief moment trying to stifle your laugh.
Draco’s had enough of her remarks. “Listen here you filthy little-”
“Gina, I’ll meet you outside. I’m fine,” you cut off Draco, giving her a small smile. She rolled her eyes and glared at Draco, before looking back at you.
“Remember what I said. I’ll be waiting right outside that door,” she assured, before brushing up roughly against Draco’s shoulder. He scowled at her before taking the chair she sat in, right across from you.
“I really hate that bloody git, I swear I’ll make her life a living-” He began rambling before looking into your eyes and getting back on topic, “Sorry. Y/N, can you tell me what’s going on with you?”
Your crossed your leg over the other and folded your arms over your chest, leaning back in your chair.
Did he really just ask that?
“I thought I made myself pretty clear the last time we spoke Draco. I deserve someone who will not be ashamed of me because of what others expect, and you deserve someone who will be able to live up to your expectations. Clearly I’m not the girl who can fill those shoes for you,” you said.
He scoffed, leaning forward, trying to get a good look at you. Draco wanted to know where all this was coming from. The only thing he knows is that one night you two fell asleep cuddled up and the next thing you were breaking up with him.
“Are you insane?”
“Am I insane?”
“No, I’m sorry that’s not what I meant. I just want to know what happened that night, everything was so all of a sudden. Did you have a nightmare and confuse it with reality?"
You turned your head, avoiding eye contact with him. “You’re not listening to me and I don’t know how much more clear I can be. I don’t matter to you, find someone who does. Plain and simple.”
“You do matter to me, I try my best to show you every time we’re together,” he scoffed.
“How?”
He groaned rolling his eyes and resting his temple against his fingers with his elbow on the table.”I don’t want to go back and forth with you.”
“I'm just asking you how you show me I matter to you. When’s the last time you asked me on a date?”
“We were just at the library a week ago,” he scoffed, looking at you dumbfounded.
“First of all, that wasn’t a date! We were studying. Second, that was three weeks ago,” you responded. Just because the two of you hung out together that one time does not mean it was a date. Hell, if that’s his definition of a date, then you must be dating all of your friends at this point.
“Y/N, my point is, I care about you deeply.”
“Are you embarrassed of me?”
“What? No, you sound ridiculous.”
“Intimidated?”
He let out a low chuckle, “Absolutely not.”
“Okay then, since you have no problem with me, I guess you’ll have no problem with me doing this,” you stood up, cupping your hands around your mouth.
His straightened himself, cautious about whatever you’re about to do. “Y/N, doing what..” he trailed off, eyeing you.
“ATTENTION EVERYBODY!”
“Y/N, what’re you doing. Sit down!” he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. A few people turned their heads to pay attention, others not so much. Either way, you were about to cause a scene and Draco was not having any of it.
“I JUST WANTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT DRACO AND I HAVE BEEN DATMMPH-”
Draco rushed onto his feet and threw himself at you, pushing the palm of his hand against your mouth. His chest was heaving up and down from adrenaline and frantically looking around. Just him grabbing you this close was enough to cause suspicion throughout the cafe. He hated all the wandering eyes on him.
He lowered his hand and grabbed your arm, pushing you through the cafe and through the doors to the outside, to the side of the building out of the way from others. He roughly let go of you when you snatched your arm back.
You had tears threatening to run down your cheeks. He just proved exactly what you were talking about.
“You’re stepping way out of line Y/N, what is bloody wrong with you! Have you lost your mind!?” he shouted at you, not caring how loud he was. He was fuming, not only from embarrassment, but from anger.
“Woah woah woah! Who do you think you are talking to her like that!?” Gina spoke coming from around the corner, overhearing his loud outburst. Draco didn't say anything to her and instead kept a hard glare on you. You peeked from behind Draco, looking at her, sniffling.
“Gina, please. I’ll meet you at Hogwarts.”
She huffed and nodded. She turned around, making her way back towards the Main Street.
“We’re just going to be going in circles at this point. I can’t let my reputation falter and you knew this the moment before we agreed to get in a relationship. That blasphemous stunt you just pulled in there.. I don’t know why you’re acting like this was new all of a sudden, you agreed there would be no hard feelings,” he snapped trying to comprehend what just happened, or could have happened.
You threw ran your hand through your hair, letting your emotions run free. You felt pathetic. You should have just gotten up with Gina and left him in that cafe alone. Seeing you like this broke his heart, but you guys were outside. There was only so much he would do.
“Answer me,” he scowled.
“I don’t know, Draco. I don’t have an answer for you anymore. I just want to feel loved and appreciated by my boyfriend. I want you to be proud of our relationship.”
“Y/N, I am,” he groaned, exasperated, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“No, I want someone who is going to be proud of me and not afraid to show me off. I know I agreed to whatever conditions we had in the beginning, but it’s not enough anymore. I can’t do it and this is torture that you’re having me go through this again days later from our last talk.”
He leaned forward pulling you into an embrace. Knowing he was the reasoning behind your pain killed Draco inside. Half of you wanted to push him away, but the other half wanted to stay in his arms forever. You hands slowly snaked around his waist as you silently cried into his chest. His grip tightened around you, comforting you. This is the man whom you’ve grown to love.
But at the end of the day, where are we? We’re hidden in the corner where no one can see the two of you.
“So this is it then?” he said, his voice softening. His hard demeanor was no longer cascading over him. He sounded defeated.
“I guess so,” you whispered. You wished he would have just said fuck everything and given it all up to be with you. However, that would be too good to be true.
You pulled away, wiping your nose with your sleeve. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, unable to look you in the eyes this time.
“Can I just ask you one more thing?” you muttered, looking up.
He nodded his head.
“Do you know when our anniversary date is?”
His face remained expressionless, you couldn’t make out how he was feeling. That was enough of an answer for you. You nodded your head one last time and walked past him, not bothering to look back.
Gina was right.
~*~
“C’mon hun, let’s get up. You have to eat and go to the rest of your classes. You barely lifted a fork this morning during breakfast,” Gina cooed, brushing your hair down with her hand. She sat on the end of your bed, next to you.
You kept your face buried in your pillow, allowing yourself to wallow in misery. You knew this feeling will eventually pass, but for right now all you can feel is pain.
Mentally.
Emotionally.
Physically too at this point.
“Mm 'ot fmibing it,” you mumbled into your pillow.
“Gotta speak up, I don’t speak gibberish,” she smiled trying to lighten the mood.
You turned your head, so that you were facing her. Your cheeks were stained with tears, your nose and eyes were red and puffy from crying all night, and you had some stray hairs flat against your face and others in a mess on the top of your head. You didn’t care for how you looked because you felt like crap.
“I’m not feeling it,” you whispered, your voice feeling hoarse and raw.
“Sweetie, you need to eat. Put some energy in that stomach of yours and wake up.”
“I’m not hungry,” you frowned, closing your eyes. You were all out of tears, if that was even possible. All you feel now is hollow. The moment you got back to Hogwarts, you went straight to your Y/H room and cried yourself to sleep. In the morning, you skipped breakfast, well, moreso slept through it and your morning classes. It’s not like you were missing anything significant.
Gina sighed through her nose. She was trying to get you out of bed. “You also need to get to class, we have important material to learn today in Transfigurations.”
“It’s just one day. Leave me be.”
“Y/N, It’s been four days,” Gina frowned, “Today was the first time I was able to even get you out of bed to sit down at the breakfast table.”
Your eyes shot open. No way.
Slowly sitting up, you looked around. “Has it really?”
She nodded. You knew you’ve been crying yourself to sleep, but you didn’t know about how many days had passed. It felt like just one long day honestly. Depression can do that.
Sighing, you laid back down, this time on your back, staring straight up.
“I don’t want to run into Draco,” you mumbled. You’re sure he’s doing just fine. You don’t think you can bare it, at least not right now. You’re too vulnerable.
Gina bit her lip. “You won’t, I haven’t even seen him these past couple of days.”
“You know, he couldn’t even tell me when our anniversary was?” you scoffed, “And let me tell you, it’s an easy date.”
“Y/N,” she warned. She’s been trying to clear your mind of Draco, but you couldn’t help it. Your feelings are still fresh.
“I know, I know,” you huffed, sitting up indefinitely this time and swinging your legs over your bed to the floor to begin getting ready again.
“Okay, great. I’ll meet you at the Grand Hall, mkay?” she smiled. You nodded, forcing a smile as she made her way out of your room.
You fixed your robes and brushed through your knotted hair, trying to make yourself look in the least bit presentable to the public eye.
You slowly walked through the corridors, taking your time with each step. Despite not really eating for a few days, you weren’t all that hungry. However, you knew that there was no way Gina was going to let you stay in the bed any longer. You knew you were pushing it this long.
Eventually, you came face to face with the Grand Hall and pushed the doors open. A few people turned to look at you, but went back to their day. You noticed Gina sitting at the Y/H table and you made you way over to her.
However, half way your eyes trailed over to the platinum blonde head that stood up clapping. Very loudly might you add.
Now see this was exactly what you were afraid of. You didn't have the energy to see Draco just yet.
At first you thought he was taunting you, a classic Draco move, but you soon came to find out it wasn’t like that at all.
“Y/N!” he shouted, and began walking to you from across the room.
You hadn’t even made it to your seat, let alone halfway through the hall before all eyes fell upon you. The chattering came down to a quiet murmur, with the clinking of silverware on plates being heard every now and then. You gave a weak smile to those around you, but returned to your stone face when gazing back at Draco.
Finally, Draco stood right in front of you, gazing down on you with his usual handsome smirk.
“Look, Draco. Can you just leave me alone? I don’t have the energy to put up with this anymore,” you mumbled, looking down at your shoes.
“May I have everybody's attention!” he shouted, ignoring you.
“Draco..,” you whispered, “what are you doing?”
This time you were the one who felt shy and embarrassed.
Instead of answering you, he placed both of his hands around your waist in one quick swift movement and dipped you without any warning. You gasped, throwing your hands up in the air and around his neck for support before he crashed his lips onto yours. He slowly, but hungrily molded his lips with yours giving you a long deserved passionate kiss.
A million emotions were running through your head all at once, you didn’t know what to comprehend first: the fact that you’re kissing Draco right now or that you were in front of the entire school.
The Hall filled with various sounds of either clapping, whistling, booing, and so forth. He slowly brought you back up after disconnecting your lips and kept his hands resting on your waist.
Your face was warm as you both had flushed cheeks, maybe moreso yours, as you turned your head slightly to get a good look around you. Gina was grinning, with her arms folded across her chest.
She knew of Draco’s plan and while of course she despised him, she valued your happiness over everything. And if Draco was the one who was going to bring you back to normal, then so be it.
You turned back to Draco.
“Can we go somewhere private?” you whispered, feeling very shy in that moment.
Smirking, he tiled his head. “Don’t tell me you’re embarrassed of me now?”
A small chuckle escaped your lips as you shook your head.
“Intimidated? he teased, continuing.
You grabbed onto his hand quickly before pulling him out of the Grand Hall, away from everyone, and to an empty corridor. Once alone, you turned to face him.
“Draco-”
“I’m sorry,” he rushed, “I’m sorry for everything. I don’t know why it didn’t click in my head sooner, but I need you. I can’t stand not being able to have you by my side and knowing that if anything were to happen to you, it would be all my fault because I’m not there with you. You deserve nothing but the best and I’m so sorry it took me this long to realize it. I hated being the reason behind your tears and pain. I know we don’t hang out as often as you would like, but this past week of being away from you felt different. It felt worse than all the other times, like I was missing my other half and I couldn't be whole again. I didn’t have you to come back to and hold in my arms and tell you how much I love you. I love being able to call you mine and I guess me keeping you a secret was my own selfish way of being able to still keep control in my life, but it’s not fair to you. I was never embarrassed or intimidated by you, I was honestly afraid that people would start to treat you differently if they knew you were my girlfriend, it wasn’t just my reputation but yours too, however I don’t care anymore. And for the record, I could never forget our anniversary. It’s on Valentines Day, my love. The one day I made the best decision of my life asking you to officially be mine. I’m proud to say you are all mine and no one else’s, if you’ll still let me that is.”
Tears pricked in your eyes. He placed his warm hands on either side of your cheeks, and wiped away your tears with his thumbs. You nodded profusely, gripping his green tie and pulling him closer to you to reconnect your lips.
“I never want to be apart from you again,” he mumbled into your lips.
Sniffling, you pulled away gazing into his eyes lovingly. “Never again, Draco.”

it’s so hard to be motivated sometimes. the little things inspire me.
just food for thought.
why are so many great writers leaving? It makes me sad that so many are leaving and that we cant read their content anymore or even say goodbye :(
tumblr used to be a safe place for so many of us, but recently, with the waves of unnecessary hate and bullying, many writers are discouraged to continue writing and don't feel that spark of happiness they used to feel while logging in.
if you're a content consumer, please support your favorite writers as much as you can; leave comments, reblog with tags or a little something like your favorite quote, leave an ask telling them how good their work was and you're endlessly thankful for the time they put in this... too many writers feel like their efforts go to waste because they think they "don't fit in" (this is what a writer friend of mine told me before deactivating, i'm just using her own words here).
writing is fun, it's a hobby for us. so when it slowly turns into a task, something we have to do instead of something we want to do, this is when many of us decide to leave

Hormones - Draco Malfoy x Reader
Req: Hii I have a Draco fluff request where the reader talks about her period for the first time to Draco so he tries to learn more about it and get her pads and chocolate and stuff to keep in his dorm for her. Thxx! - Anon
Warnings: n/a
A/N: I did a little different take on it, but same concept. Lemme know what you think!
Tumblr media
“Fuck fuck FUCK!”
Ginny and Hermione’s head whipped around swiftly. Ginny tilted her head whilst Hermione grabbed her wand in immediate defense. You had caught the attention of a few other students around, but you didn't care at that moment.
Sitting in the library, you were catching up on studying with your friends when you had been feeling uncomfortable for a while.
Your stomach began to twist and knot into a confining ache. You've dismissed yourself multiple times thinking it was just horrible bowel movements, or simply not eating enough at breakfast but to no avail, that wasn't the case.
Every now and then you would need to take a breather due to the fact that it felt like the wind nearly got knocked out of you. Ginny had even accidentally elbowed you in your breast resulting in a yelp and shoving her away.
It wasn't until you were looking for one of your papers to study when you noticed you were sitting on it. Shifting to the side to pick it up, you observed a crimson stain on it, resulting in all your concerns being answered.
"Bloody hell, Y/N, what's wrong?" Hermione gasped.
"You could say that again," you mumbled, picking up your robe and wrapping it tightly around your waist.
They looked at each other confused. Your face flushed with embarrassment as you closed your eyes for a brief moment before speaking.
"..I've just gotten my period."
"Do you need a tampon?" Ginny began, sitting up straighter.
"A pad?" Hermione alternated, raising her eyebrow.
"Painkillers?"
"A blanket?"
"A hug?"
You halted your hands up indicating for them to stop. "I'm alright, I've got a few tampons left I think... I'll pick some up at the store later," you dismissed, "I guess this is my cue to go for today. I'll catch up with you guys later."
They nodded in agreement telling you that if you needed anything to let them know.
Leaving it at that, you waved goodbye and made your way down the corridors heading to the nearest bathroom. The halls were pretty empty thankfully, but you couldn't help but still feel embarrassed that you've stained your skirt. All you wanted to do was get out of your clothes, take a bath, and relax in your dorm.
Turning around a corner, you nearly stumbled into your favorite Slytherin. You held onto his arms for support as a cramp hit you, making you close your eyes for just a brief second to compose yourself. His hard silver eyes met yours and immediately softened.
"Where're you headed off to in such a hurry? Are you alright?" Draco asked, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and drew you into a quick embrace. Pulling away, you left some space in between the two of you.
As much as you would love to drop everything and stay there with him, the crippling agony of your period dripping down your leg at any given time wasn't something you were going to risk. Once your flow started, it was heavy.
"I've just really got to use the bathroom is all if you don't mind excusing me," you apologized for the short explanation, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before hurrying past him.
Leaving Draco there, he watched your figure hurry down the hall with no chance of hearing his response. Nonchalantly, he shrugged it off. Sometimes he never knows what actually goes through your head and instead lets you explain it later on.
"Well alright then," he mumbled to himself, carrying on with his day.
~*~
You’ve nearly avoided Draco all day, not that you intended to, you were busy with, well, lady issues. During the moments when he would catch glimpses of you across the yards or throughout Hogwarts, you would always rushing to somewhere else.
You've been going back and forth in search of your menstrual products because you were down to just a few tampons left. With it only being just the beginning of your period, you were going to need hell of a lot more than that.
Your cramps, although already uncomfortable, were going to kick in stronger the more time passes. So, you want to hurry and get everything before you become too immobilized to do anything.
Eventually you exhausted yourself and headed back to your dorm, deciding that you were just going to attempt again tomorrow. if that was even possible.
Draco had thought he did something wrong. The whole day he’s been racking his brain as to what he could have possibly done. Also not to mention that no one would tell him about your whereabouts when you weren’t in his line of sight.
Desperate to talk to you, he had gone to Hermione to pry any information out of her. She refused to talk to Draco telling him that you were simply 'busy.' Ginny only shrugged her shoulders and wouldn’t give him the time of day.
He wasn't satisfied with that answer and tried every other friend of yours he could think of; including Harry Potter as well. No one gave him helpful answers or didn't know where you were either. Trying to take matters into his own hands, he stormed up to your dorm room and harshly knocked on the door.
“Y/N, I know you’re in there!” he shouted impatiently.
He actually had no idea if you were in there or not. However, he decided that if you weren't there, he was just going to sit and wait on your bed until you came in.
Turning the door handle, he stomped his way inside but came to a halt. Tangled up under the bedsheets laid your sleeping figure. Draco’s once tense body relaxed and quietly shut the door behind him trying to not make too much noise.
He took long stride towards you and sat on the edge of your bed right next to you. He brought his hand up to brush the loose strands of hair out of your face and cupped your cheek, lightly rubbing his thumb across it.
Stirring a little bit, your eyes fluttered open.
“Mmm Draco,” you groggily mumbled quitely, rubbing the crust out of your eyes, “What’re you doing here?”
“I haven’t seen you all day,” he spoke softly, “Are you avoiding me?”
He tried to hide the hurt in his voice however you caught on quickly, sitting up on your elbows to get a better look at him. His eyebrows were creased as he awaited your answer.
“Of course not, why would you think that?”
He turned his head to look to the side for a brief second before turning back to look at you. “I don’t know.. I just thought-”
You grabbed his tie and yanked him down so his mouth was inches from yours. Pressing a warm kiss to his lips, reassuring him nothing was wrong.
“I’m sorry I made you feel that way, I’m just going through my lady problems at the moment,” you apologized. He furrowed his eyebrows, looking at you curously.
“Lady problems?” he questioned.
You darted your eyes from side to side, confused on what he was confused about. Slowly nodding your head, you sucked in a breath as another wave of cramps came rolling out. He noticed your discomfort and sat up straight.
“What lady problems? Did you get detention because that’s a student problem.”
You sucked in your lips to stiffle back a laugh. This time you sat up with your back resting against the headboard, making more room for him to scoot closer.
Does he really not know?
“Draco, my love... my period came,” you chuckled, giving him a playful shove on his hip.
“Okay..?” he uttered dumbfoundedly, “Just push it all out and you’ll be okay for the remainder of the day.”
Did he really just say that.
“Get out,” you huffed and laid back down, turning over so that your back was to him. Normally you would have the time to dilly-dally through Draco’s insensitive comments, but you did not have the patience for it today. Your hormones were all out of wack and you were afraid you were going to blurt something you don’t mean to say.
You’ve gotten your period around Draco before, but he’s never really noticed. Some days are worst than others and you tried your best to conceal it most of the time.
“C’mon, Y/N,” Draco scoffed, “It can’t be that bad, you’re being dramatic.”
You really wanted to reach for his balls at that moment and rip them out. Let’s see just how dramatic you could get when his baby-makers are being crushed and thrown out the window.
“Draco, you have three seconds to get the hell out of my room before I roundhouse kick you in your dick,” you threatened, not bothering to turn around. He was taken back by your sudden violence and stood up, offended.
"You honestly need to relax," he grumbled, turning to leave the room without a second thought.
"Relax? You want me to relax?!” you shouted angrilly, sitting up this time to look him dead in the eyes, “Have you any idea what I go through on my period! I'm already emotional as is and you’re not helping. I’m bleeding out of my literal vagina, my excrutiating cramps are stabbing me over and over again, not just in my uterus, but also my back! My spine! My damn ass! And doooon’t even get me started on the tenderness of my breasts, it’s not the good kind. I can barely sleep without being woken up in pain and not to mention I am basically out of all my damn tampons! I’m going to become a bloody crimescene at any given moment! Hell I can barely smell anything without wanting to violently regurgiatate whatever is in my stomach and you have the nerve to tell me to relax?!”
Your chest was heaving up and down from your rant as Draco cautiously walked back over to you. Soon enough, your anger turned into sadness and you fought back the urge of crying.
All your emotions were heightened and you just wanted to feel cared for. He wasn’t expecting that and immedately felt bad for making you feel worse than you already do.
“M’sorry,” he apologized and wrapped his arms around you. Draco didn’t know much about menstruation, but from what you were telling him, it sounded like literal hell. At first you stubbornly tried fighting him away from you, but exhaustedly gave in.
He wanted to make you feel as comfortable as possible, so he laid with you in your bed until he felt your soft snores leaving your nose. Once you fell asleep, he carefully slipped out of your hold and made his way to leave the room to run a few errands.
~*~
“Love.. Y/N wake up.”
Draco was gently shaking your shoulder trying to get you to wake up. Opening your eyes, you adjusted to the darker atmosphere of the room.
Wait a second, this wasn’t your room. You sat up and looked around. You were in Draco’s dorm, in his bed. But when did you get here?
He noticed the confusion on your face and interjected.
“I carried you here, I thought you would be more comfortable,” he muttered, “But look.”
He bent down to pick a bag up before sliding under the blanket next to you. He dumped all the contents in the bag along your lap as you let out a gasp. You weren’t expecting so many things to come out.
Laying across your lap was boxes of tampons, pads, panty-liners, a heating pad, water, painkillers, endless amounts of snacks including candy, chocolate, chips, and even a necklace. The list could go on forever.
Your mouth hung open to form words, but you struggled.
“Draco.. I, this is.. wow. Okay, uhm, did you buy the whole store?” you managed to get out. He scratched the back of his neck nervously, with a nervous smile tugging on the corner of his lips.
He turned to the side and reached to grab another bag and a bouquet of flowers. Holding the bouquet of flowers out for you, you grabbed them. You loved the gesture, but this was too much. You couldn’t help but feel guilty that he went through all this trouble just for you.
“Draco-”
He stopped you to speak and placed the flowers in your hands.
“That bag is full of everything you need, or at least I hope so, for if and when you decide to go back to your dorm and this bag is for me to keep here in my dorm for whenever you need it. I’ve gotten nearly everything I could to make up for being such a dick. These flowers and jewlery are just a small gift to show you my appreciation. I don’t want to add more stress to you and m’sorry. Whatever it is you need, just tell me and I’ll right on it.”
Tears pricked in your eyes as you stared at him.
“Don’t cry, is it something I said?” he frowned. You shook your head, wiping under your eyes and sniffling.
“Just the hormones, thank you. I love you so much,” you gushed pulling him in for a much needed kiss and cuddled into him. He protectively wrapped his arms around you, and lulled you back to sleep, whispering words of affirmations.
“I’ll always be here for you,” he whispered and placed a loving kiss on the top of your head.

I Deserve Better - Draco Malfoy x Reader
Prompt: You knew Draco had a reputation to uphold, but when is enough going to be enough?
Warnings: lil angst
a/n: I had a dream similar to this and I wanted to bring it to light. Thoughts?
Part 2
Tumblr media
“Draco!” you gasped, letting the still air fill your lungs. Your eyes searched for something, anything, to focus on to calm the pounding of your heart. You gripped the sheets beneath your fingers, scrunching them in your fist. The other boys in the dorm stirred from your loud outburst, but, thankfully, didn’t awaken. The howling wind from outside filled your ears whilst your mind ran ramped.
You hadn’t slept in his room in a while. Actually, you haven’t seen much of each other for that fact. Other than short Grand Hall visits and passing each other through the corridors, it was like he was nonexistent in your life.
If it wasn’t for that fact that you asked to sleep with him tonight, you probably wouldn’t have been together right now.
Draco’s eyes widened in sudden-fear, being ripped from his slumber. Seeing you sit up, he looked at you curiously. He rubbed the crust out of his tired eyes and pushed himself up, leaning on his hands. The duvet, fell off of his torso, revealing his boxers that hung loosely around his waist.
“Y/N?”
You turned your head towards his direction. Opening your mouth, you couldn’t form any words. You licked your dry lips before attempting again.
Pushing himself off of his arms and, instead, putting his arm around you, you shivered at his touch. He lightly trailed the small of your back with his fingertips soothingly in an attempt to get you to relax.
“Love, you’re worrying me. Has something happened? Bad dream?”
His voice was deep and husky.
“Yeah.. you could say that.”
The truth of the matter is that you weren’t having a bad dream. Actually, it was a wonderful dream. Enough to make your heartache and eyes sting with a longing.
Grinning you reached out to grab Draco’s hand, turning around and yanked him towards you. You tilted your head so that it falls back against his shoulder, letting the sun hit your chest and shoulders, spreading a warmth over you. You were pressed up against his chest while your arms hung losely behind you around his neck. He placed his hands on your waist, pulling you closer into him as he bent his head into the curve of your neck.
Draco placed peppering kisses along the slide of your ear before speaking.
“In a good mood are we?” he lowly spoke, his breath sending shivers down your spine.
“Always when I’m with you,” you smiled, your eyes closed, enjoying his embrace. Words weren’t needed for a moment like this. It was nothing but pure bliss.
You opened your eyes for a split second and caught a glimpse of a couple Slytherin’s across the yard. Instincts instantly kicked in and you lowered your hands before turning around. His hands left your waist and he stared at you confused.
“Why did you-”
“There’s people around,” you spoke shyly, looking down at your feet for a moment because it made you feel like you were in trouble. He tsked and lifted his hand to pull your chin up to look at him.
“And what about them? Are they bothing you?”
Your eyesbrows raised in shock.
“N-No, I just-”
He chuckled. “Embarrassed of me now?”
You could hear the sarcasm lacing his voice. He found this comical as if there was nothing wrong with the situation. He hated others seeing you two in public like this, especially being affectionate.
In the beginning of your relationship, the two of you admitted that there were feelings there, however Draco informed you that he still had a reputation to uphold. He didn’t want there to be any hard feelings when the two of you were out in public. Hesitantly, you agreed not knowing what the future held.
You shook your head and turned to the left to glimpse at the Slytherin’s once more. The were definitely looking at the two of you, but it felt.. nice? in an odd way?
“Never, you just.. you hated people to see us together so I just assumed that-”
He pressed his index finger around your lips silencing you. A playfull smirked tugged on the corner of his lips while he leaned down so that his face was merely inches away from yours.
“Let’s give them something to look at baby.”
“I.. I don’t think I can do this,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
“Do what.”
His voice came out harsher than he had intended, but he was apprehensive about what you were going to say. Had he done something? He was racking his brain trying to figure out the answer. You two were asleep just seconds ago.
“I need to go,” you dismissed waving your hand in the air and turned away from his touch. His arm slid away from your shoulders as you stood up, looking for your slippers in the dark room.
Draco rubbed his hand over his tired face, letting out a tired moan.
You frantically felt around for your wand on the table next to the bed.
“Lumos,” you casted as a faint light grew on the tip of your wand. Your slippers were burried a little far under the bed. Getting on your knees, you reached for them to put them on.
“Y/N, what’s going on with you,” Draco mumbled, still hazy from being woken up so suddenly. His platinum blonde hair was messy on top of his head with different locks fanning over his forehead. His eyes struggled to remain open whilst his cheeks felt the cold still of the air.
“I just need to go,” you repeated.
“Go where, enough of this nonsense and come back to bed,” he mumbled with a hint of annoyance in his voice. You put your wand away and ignored him, heading towards the door.
“Y/N,” he called again. You swung the door open and stepped through, heading back to your Y/H room.
Draco rolled his eyes and slumped back down onto his bed. Whatever it was that was bothering you will eventually come to light. A part of you wanted him to come chasing after you, but you knew that his ego would get in the way of that.
Why were you leaving?
You wanted to feel cared for. And not just when you two are alone, but in public as well. It’s hard enough dating the Draco you loved only in your dreams, just to back to reality and date the Draco who tries to please everybody else.
Yes, you understood that that is what you initally agreed to at the beginning, however you didn’t know what exactly it was you were getting yourself into. Finally being able to take off the rose-colored glasses allowed for you to start seeing things for the way they actually were.
When was the last time he, himself, had asked you on a date.
When was the last time he made an effort to make you feel like his one and only.
When was the last time he gave you self-assurance in this relationship.
He cares too much about his status to let even a glimmer of affection show. You didn’t understand why he could have such a loving and playful personality interior, but have a hard and cold exterior. If he truly wanted to be with you, then he will find it in his heart to have a real conversation with you; however until then you thought it would be best to distance yourself.
The next day, you hadn’t seen Draco anywehere. Maybe he slept in or just flat out hadn’t though about going to see you. This wasn’t anything out of the ordinary considering he would ignore you on a daily basis anyways. You weren’t going to go out of your way to try and see him, but you knew the feelings weren’t going to be reciprocated.
“Y/N, are you listening to me?” Gina groaned, hitting you with her homework papers.
She was your best friend and one of the only people who new you had a relationship with Draco. She didn’t care too much for him, but supported you because of how deeply in love you were. Or thought you were, to say the least.
The two of you sat at the Viaduct Courtyard, catching up on school work and chatting it up like most friends do.
“Huh? Oh, sorry, what were you saying?”
Her lips formed into a line as she stared at you. She squinted her eyes and folded her arms across her chest.
“What’d he do now,” she mumbled, rolling her eyes.
You sat up straight, shaking your head. Opening your mouth to speak, she squickly spoke.
“And don’t say it’s nothing, because I know you like the back of my hand.” She stared at you like you were hiding something because you didn’t have a response to what she said.
She pretty much knew your relationship, but you never spilled too much because you knew any problems to arise between you and Draco would only result in her hating him even more than she already does. So you kept nearly all of it to yourself except for most of the good things.
He had to win brownie points some way.
“It’s nothing major, I just haven’t seen him all day is all,” you murmured, “I just miss him.” You weren’t exactly lying. You hadn’t seen him, but that wasn’t what was on your mind.
“Oh good thing that he’s heading your way right now then, hmm,” she eyed, raising her eyebrow. She could tell something was off, but she wasn’t going to press.
Your heart spiked and you quickly whipped your head around. She was right, Draco had been heading your way, as a matter of fact, but he didn’t look to happy. His cold demeaner protruded with each step he took, warding off anyone that tried to address him.
“I’ll leave you to it, and by the way,” she said, lowering her voice, “I know there’s more to the story that you better tell me later or I’m kicking his ass. Toodles!”
And with that she gathered her things and walked away.
Seconds later, leather boots approached you. You didn’t dare look up, afraid of the confrontation that was inevitably going to happen. There was an awkward tension between the two of you. He knows that you knew he was there and vice versa. He was being awfully quiet which made you uncomfortable considering he was such a dominant person.
“Are you just going to sit there or are you going to tell me what the hell happened yesterday,” he snapped.
Taken back by his immediate aggression, you reluctantly stood up on your feet. He was clearly annoyed that you hadn’t gone to him throughout the day like you normally would. It fed his god-complexed ego and you weren’t having it.
He didn’t have to talk to you that way.  A simple ‘what’s wrong baby’ or ‘i’m sorry for whatever it is, lets get ice cream’ would surfice.
“Just leave me alone, Draco,” you mumbled, getting ready to walk away before he grabbed onto your arm to hold you in place. His jaw tightened and he was getting visibly upset. He didn’t know what he did wrong, but it doesn’t take a brainiac to understand it.
Instead of responding, he dragged you along with him out of the courtyard and through the corridors of Hogwarts before going down to the dungeons. He pulled you into the Slytherin common room and shooed everyone who was lounging around out. This left just the two of you.
“Y/N, I don’t know what’s going on with you,” he muttered, pinching the brige of his nose, “And none of this is helping because you won’t talk to me for whatever reason!”
You folded your arms across your chest, looking to the side. You looked anywhere but his face. It was intimidating you.
“Do you care about me?” you whispered, your voice fragile.
His brows furrowed and shook his head, clearly annoyed. “What kind of question is that-”
“-Just answer the question, Draco,” you rushed.
“Of course, I do!” he shouted. You flicked your pupils to his this time. His never left yours, in fact, he had a hard stare on you, almost like he was trying to read your mind.
“Then why don’t you act like it!” you shouted back in reflex. He stood at your toes, towering over you. This time he was waiting for you to finish, almost taken back by you matching his energy. You’ve never shouted at him like the way you did.
“You wouldn’t understand what’s it’s like to be in my shoes, constantly getting judged for everything single thing I do,” he glared. He was putting his walls up, you could sense it. Soon he was going to become rock hard and nothing was going to get through to him.
“I may not understand what that’s like, but I can sympathize,” you rushed, before he scoffed, slightly opening the side of his mouth to lick the inside of his cheek.
“I don’t need your sympathy or pity,” he spat.
“Then why do you want to be with me! You’re embarrassed to be seen with me. You won’t let me simply be in the same space as you..” you spoke, losing volume with each word rolling off your tongue. “I feel like a ragdoll.”
“Y/N, we’ve been over this. My rep-
“Your reputation, I know,” you scoffed, folding your arms over your chest this time. His eyes darted back and forth between yours, eagerly waiting for you to say something else. “You don’t care about anybody else’s feelings except for yourself and that makes you a selfish prick!”
For once, he was at a loss of words.
“I don’t think I can do this anymore, us,” you said, immediately regretting it when you saw his eyes soften at your confession, but you continued, “I deserve better. I deserve someone who isn’t going to be ashamed of me just because of what others anticipate and you deserve someone who is going to be able to fulfill your status.”
He took a stride closer to you and held onto the side of your arms. He was hurting on the inside. “Y/N, you don’t mean that. You know I love you.”
You bit the inside of your cheek, trying to look anywhere but his face. Taking a shaky breath, you nodded your head and finally looked him straight in his eyes. His were glossy, and his cheeks were turning a light shade of pink but you knew he wasn’t going to shed a tear. Not when anyone could walk in at any given moment.
“I do mean it,” you frowned, shaking his touch off of you, “Until you can prove to me that I genuinly matter to you, then this..- we are over.”
With the last bit of pride held in your spine, you turned on your heel and left him standing there. You were going to put yourself first and if that meant letting him go, then so be it. Any second longer and you would’ve felt yourself crumble at his feet.
It’s hard to love someone, but it’s even harder to let them go.

Hear me out, i can picture a series where the reader meets bucky w/o knowing about his trauma and falls madly in love bc Bucky is trying his best to erase his past. but it’s such a rocky rollercoaster bc Bucky ultimately knows that the winter soldier is apart of him and it even gets triggered again, endangering the reader thinking he is now damaged beyond repair; but clearly that isn’t the case. The whole series is basically about them, outside threats, himself, and their struggles together.
I have so many ideas regarding this if someone should/wanted to create it 👀

You’re Done - Bucky Barnes x Reader
Request: Can I get a bucky imagine where the reader messes up really badly on a mission, can she have fire powers, and bucky is there for her in the end. Maybe like a friends to lovers kind of vibe? Thank you! Love you!- Anon
Warnings: none
a/n: [For the sake of this imagine my bby Pietro is alive for his two seconds of fame ;)]         There will be a pt 2. Idk when, but eventually.
Tumblr media
“I need you all to lay low,” Steve’s voice spoke through the earpiece.
“Copy,” you along with the other Avengers said into the intercom in unison.
You have gone on many missions with the Avengers, however, this one was different. Most of the ones you’ve experienced were small track and point ones. Nothing like this where it was a life or death situation.
You had to capture one of the men named Azazel. He had vital information that was going to help the team out on a lead for the rest of the mission. You were a powerful asset to the team. The only issue was how much you underestimate yourself.
For weeks you had been training your powers and learning to keep them under control. There had been many incidents where you accidentally caused the sprinklers to go off at the tower for reasons we shall not speak of. But let’s just say they were all minor setbacks in your progress.
The team loved having you go on missions with them, but most of the time Steve wanted you to stay back at the tower and continue to train. You underestimate your powers and It took you many days to convince him to bring you on this specific mission. It wasn’t until you had a one on one with him that he finally gave in.
You had all the weight of the world on your shoulders. However, the adrenaline masked all the doubts running laps throughout your mind.
“I can see four of the guards standing by the door.. and I think a couple more on the other side of the building,” Wanda said slyly moving around the compound unseen.
“Could you at least try to make an effort to stay hidden,” Tony groaned, maneuvering around in the sky. “I can literally see your red head from here.”
“Listen Stark, you’d be caught long before I am,” Wanda smirked, sassily.
You softly chuckled to yourself.
“No, you listen Maximoff-” Tony began before Pietro cut him off.
“In all honesty, you’re not that witty Tony. Sorry, not sorry.”
“You know I don’t appreciate this slander on my title,” Tony mumbled.
While they bickered back and forth, you noticed one of the guards waving at the men to go inside the building. You ducked down when one of the men gave one last look around the area and went inside.
“They’re going inside,” you announced.
“Alright, here’s what we’re going to do,” Steve commenced going over the mission.
After listening to the entirety of Steve’s plan, you felt like there were some flaws in it. Naturally, you had your own plan in your head. Steve wanted everyone to go inside unnoticed and basically move around incognito. You, on the other hand, wanted to do it the old-fashioned way and all gang up together because there were more of you guys than there were of them. Or so you thought.
Sneaking inside the facility, you hid behind boxes and waited as Wanda and Pietro were the first ones to begin. Wanda would use her powers to mess with the men’s minds and make them fall asleep while Pietro would move their bodies to somewhere outside away from the rest of the Avengers. The building was old and looked like it could fall apart at any given moment.
Everything was going smoothly until one of the men, who had gone unnoticed by the rest of you, punched you harshly having you slam into the wall, sending an immediate alert to the people inside.
Clint and Natasha took awareness of this immediately and rushed by your side, but it was like the man had a vendetta on your head. He was overpowering all three of you and none of you understood how. Everyone was in full combat mode, and soon enough, almost a full army of them was coming out in groups. There was more of them than you thought there were.
Your fire powers were flowing out of your hand as you disintegrated any daggers or weapons they would try and throw your way. By this point, you were growing irritated and were having enough of this nonsense.
“Tell us where Azazel is!” you shouted holding one of the men up by the collar of his shirt. He smirked and pulled out a machine from the back of his pocket. You looked at it confused until you noticed a timer on it fastly counting down.
Your eyes widened.
“There’s a bomb in here!” you shouted into your earpiece.
“We’ll get this under control. Y/N, Bucky, and Clint get everyone out now!” Tony responded, already using his suit to find and defuse the bomb.
You were about to respond when you caught something out of the peripheral vision of your eye. You saw a door that was left cracked opened and decided to do a little digging for yourself. Looking around at the Avengers busy, you slipped away and entered the room. Silently closing the door, you moved behind a big crate to remain hidden.
Inside, you noticed a man dressed in all black with his back to you. You bet this was Azazel.
“Y/N, where are you!” Steve yelled into the earpiece.
You knew that you had to respond to Steve, but doing that would compromise your position. Without saying anything, you made a B-line towards the man.
“HEY!” you shouted, as who you assumed was Azazel, frighteningly looked up. He pushed boxes of glass out of his way and started to run. You weren’t going to leave him that easily and every place he tried to dodge into, you would blast up with your powers.
Picking up speed, you threw a firebolt at him hitting him in the back causing him to fall to the ground. You slowly sauntered over to him, a small triumphant grin on your face.
“Tell me what you know!” you fiercely shouted. Feeling bold, you had him exactly where you wanted. However, that confidence you once had faltered as his face then fell into a smirk. He pulled out a cylindrical device with a red button on top of it.
“Y/N! Do you copy!” Steve yelled again.
Ignoring Steve, you quickly extending your hand out to grab the device out of his hands but instead, you accidentally triggered your powers and blasted out an uncontrollable flame you’ve never seen or done before.
Azazel let out an excruciating scream of agony and the device slipped out of his hand. He was being burned alive.
“Oh no no no! What’s happening?!” you freaked, trying to get your powers under control. The flames emerged from your hands and began to consume everything within its path. It had a mind of its own and it was determined to burn everything to ashes.
Your screams rang throughout the room and Tony busted through the wall, frantically looking around. His eyes landed on you and the fire coming out of your palms.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Y/N STOP!” Tony yelled, wanting to get close enough to grab you, but the heat coming from the flames was too much, even for his suit. If anyone came close, they would have gotten burned as well. Pietro followed suit next to him.
You tried to stop them and bent down trying to grab onto Azazel, but this only made matter worse. It wasn’t until you felt a knife slice through the side of your arm, distracting you, that the fires coming from your hand died down.
You brought your hands up to your face horrified. His face and body were burned beyond recognition. You slumped to your knees and grabbed his lifeless corpse with one of your hands. His blood pooled out of his burnt clothes, coating your hands in warm crimson.
Looking further down his arm, you grabbed the device that was now barely holding together and looked at the odd wiring.
He was bluffing. It was a fake only to intimidate you.
“The bomb is going to go off! Everyone out-”
An ear-shattering explosion began to erupt throughout the facility before he could finish. For the most part, everyone was already on their way to the outside.
Pietro took awareness of you being out of it and quickly scooped you up into his arms and sped out of the exploding building. All of you had made it just in time before the entire building was already engulfed in flames. Pietro safely placed you down and grabbed onto your shoulders.
“Hey, are you alright?”
You nodded still shaken up.
“We almost fucking had him!” Tony exclaimed frustrated. “Let’s go.”
The ride back was silent. You had ruined the whole mission. You were mentally beating yourself up with a war inside your brain.
Why couldn’t you have just listened?
Back at the Avenger’s Tower, Steve ordered you to meet him at the office. You knew that whatever was coming wasn’t going to be good.
“Y/N, do you realize what you’ve just done?” Steve groaned, angrily placing his hands on the table in front of him. You looked around the room and at your hands that were covered in Azazel’s dried blood. You didn’t know that you were being set up. As a matter of fact, you didn’t even know that your powers had that much potential.
“I.. I didn’t mean to I was just-” you whispered, backing up to create some distance between you and Steve.
“You ruined the whole mission, Y/N! I told you that you were not ready!” he snapped, making your head jerk towards his direction. You opened your mouth to form words, but nothing came out. If you would have just had a moment to collect your thoughts, you would be better at articulating yourself.
“If you would just let me explain myself!” you shouted growing frustrated with overwhelming emotion, you felt your body getting hot. Taking a deep breath, you tried your best to calm the fire inside of you, quite literally.
Steve placed his hands on his hips and disapprovingly shook his head.
“You’re done.”
Your chest felt like it plummetted twenty feet underground. Despite the fire running through you, you felt your body grow cold. You had been training countless nights just to get where you are. There were so many things you wanted to say, while at the same time, you had nothing to say.
What was there to say anyway?
“What?” you managed to breathe out.
“Just go, Y/N.”
Steve then walked past you, leaving you standing in the middle of the complex. You clenched your fists and turned on your heel. You needed to get out. To blow off some steam before you burned the whole building down.
You rushed down the stairs, down every elevator, and all the way down to the empty field in front of the Avenger’s Tower near the aircraft. You felt the flames wanting to come out of your hands, but you tried your best to suppress them. Frantically looking around, you finally spotted a metal storage container.
Running inside, you shut the door and dropped to your knees finally letting the flames ignite. You cried your feelings out, this time not holding back. The flames engulfed the entire space.
A small part of you was fearful about not being able to contain it, but you knew you had to let it go. No one in this compound listens to you. It’s like they just want to keep you here to stay out of the way.
Was it for your benefit or theirs?
A knock on your door interrupted your thoughts, but you didn’t bother to turn around. Not that it would have mattered at this point. After releasing your emotions, you took a cold shower to cool off before coming back to your room at the Tower. The tower seemed empty. There was a stale stillness in the air that could be cut with a knife.
You couldn’t help but feel that everything was your fault. If you had just been able to stop underestimating yourself, maybe things would have happened differently. Or if you would have maybe just trained a bit more.
The door clicked signifying that someone was entering your room.
“Hey, mind if I come in?”
You turned around, lifting your gaze as your eyes fell on the handsome soldier before turning back around to face the window. There was nothing to be said. You and Bucky had always had this unspoken bond since the day you joined the Avengers. Whenever you were having a bad day, he was always there to talk about it and vice versa. Was there more underneath the surface than the two of you would like to acknowledge? Yes.
You watched as the trees flowed in the wind looking as peaceful as it could be, the opposite of how you were feeling.
“Do you wanna talk about it?”
He closed the door behind him and trudged next to you. He pulled up a chair and sat down, mirroring your actions by gazing outside the window.
“What’s there to talk about?” you dismissed.
“No one is blaming you,” he said, leaning back in the seat and crossing his arms over his chest.
You scoffed, shaking your head. “Oh really,” you mumbled, “I’m sure Steve would beg to differ.”
Gossip spreads like wildfire throughout the Tower and there was no way that anyone was going to be oblivious to what was going on. There was no easy way to sugar coat it. You fucked up and Steve knew this would happen. It’s plain and simple.
“Steve is just upset right now and will get over it. The mission was already a work in progress, to begin with. I don’t know exactly what went down, but your powers are stronger than you realize and with just a little bit more training-”
“Stop!” you shouted, standing up. Your chair fell behind you with a loud thud. Bucky jerked his head at your outburst but remained seated. He knew you were overwhelmed and wasn’t going to invalidate how you were feeling.
“No one listens to me! I was doing what I thought was right! I didn’t realize what I was doing until it was too late. It doesn’t matter how much ‘training’ I do, no one is there to help me!”
“And you have every right to feel that way. No one is blaming you, things happen. We live and we learn. It a part of life, Y/N. I recognize that I will never understand the struggles you are going through, but I can try.”
“Don’t patronize me, Buck,” you frowned. Truth be told, you just wanted someone to appreciate you.
This time, he stood up and placed both hands on either side of your shoulders. “I’m not. Look, how about we go out tonight to get your mind off things. Then, when you’re feeling better, we can discuss a plan to talk it out with the rest of the team.”
“They’re not going to listen to me.”
“I’ll make sure they listen, okay? Now, go get dressed before I dress you myself. You’ve got thirty minutes,” he winked pulling you in for a hug, to which you gladly returned.
Maybe you do need a night out.

Tumblr media
“How long are we going to be there for?” you asked, swinging your entwined hand with Bucky.
The two of you were on your way to a bar because Bucky said he had some business to handle. Normally this would’ve concerned you, however he reassured you that it wasn’t anything dangerous. You didn’t like it when he put himself in harms way.
“Not that long, it’ll be less than an hour-”
“An hour?” you huffed, “Without you?”
He smiled shaking his head. “Less than an hour, doll. I’ll try to be as quick as possible.”
Coming up to the entrance of the bar, the two of you entered and Bucky’s stoic face searched around the room. He made eye contact with someone in the back and nodded his head before turning towards you. He placed his hands on either side of your face and gave you a quick peck on the lips.
“I’ll be back before you know it,” he said.
You nodded, leaning into his touch. “I’ll be right by the bar waiting for you.”
With one last kiss, the two of you went your opposite ways. You dragged your feet across the floor until you reached a seat at the bar and slumped down. You pulled out your phone, mindlessly scrolling through whatever entertainment you could find.
The endless music and chattering throughout the establishment filled your ears as the bartender looked at you, wondering if you were going to order something. You shook your hand, giving a small smile, and looked back down at your phone.
Almost thirty minutes had passed before you felt yourself growing bored. You were about to get up to take a walk outside when you saw a shot slide down in front of you. You lifted your gaze, confused.
“I didn’t order this,” you said to the bartender who was cleaning one of the glasses.
“This is from the gentleman right over there,” he shrugged, motioning with his face towards a person sitting on the opposite side of you. You furrowed your eyebrows not seeing who he was talking about until you felt a tap on your shoulder. Turning your head, you were getting prepared to reject the man.
“Look, I’m not interested- wait.. Brandon?”
Your eyes lit up with a kid-like joy.
“Y/N? It’s been so long!” he exclaimed, pulling you in for a hug to which you gladly returned.
Brandon had been one of your high school best friends who you fell out of touch with a while ago due to unfortunate circumstances. At the time you two were inseparable and were even nominated to be Prom king and queen. However, his parents made him move schools in the middle of senior year and you never saw him again.
Of course, you would text each other as much as you could, but it wasn’t the same. The two of you had different schedules and eventually just stopped communicating one day. It was understandable, and there were no hard feelings about the situation.
Eyeing him up and down, he definitely looked different. You wouldn’t have recognized him if it weren’t for that beauty mark he had on the side of his eye. His physique was much fuller and muscular than you remember. His jawline was sharp enough to cut a piece of paper and he no longer had baby peach-fuzz surrounding his jaw. He had a full-on shaped beard. He looked amazing.
“What’re you doing here, how have things been going on with you,” you grinned, “Come sit.” You patted the seat right next to you.
He swiftly moved on the other side of you. “I live in the area for a while now, actually. I just got promoted,” he chuckled, earning a clap in happiness from you, “Things have just been look good. How about you?”
“It’s been great. I don’t really do anything exciting but I do get to go out and explore different cities as much as I can.”
“Tell me more.”
You lost track of time catching things up with Brandon. You had learned a lot about each other, even after high school up until now. However, every so often you would see his eyes dart past you making you curious until you finally spoke up about it.
You turned your head to try and see what he was looking at before turning back to him. You didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
“Hey, what is it that you keep looking at?”
He shook his head. “Oh, it’s nothing.”
You rolled your eyes. “Nuh-uh. Spill.”
He took a breath, scratching the back of his neck nervously. You placed your hand on his knee, soothingly rubbing it.
“Are you okay?” you asked.
“Yes, it’s just.. okay look,” he grabbed your chair and forcibly turned you around so you two were facing the same direction. His chest was pressed up against your back, as he leaned his head into your shoulder close to your ear to speak.
“Do you see that man over there?” he said lowly into your ear, slyly pointing towards a group of people. You tried to focus your eyes on a specific person, but to no avail couldn’t.
“Which one.”
“The one in the yellow shirt... sun glasses hanging on the collar of his shirt.. black jeans,” he drawled. You saw him. He was cute laughing it up with his group of people.
“Oh, yes. What about him?” you said turning back around looking at Brandon all flushed. He didn’t say anything which answered your question.
“You like him!” you gasped, jumping up and down in your seat with excitement. “Who is he?!”
He put his hands on your shoulders to settle you down. You knew he was gay since high school. However, he always remained closeted so he never had the courage to speak up. You felt proud seeing how much he’s grown.
“That’s Gavin. Gavin Lewdman,” he blushed. You mouth dropped. Gavin had went to the same high school as the two of you and you knew that Brandon had a crush on him for the longest.
“No way, shut up,” you gasped, “Shut up! Is he..?”
He nodded his head, giggling. You couldn’t contain your enthusiasm. You wanted to jump up and smoosh their faces together. That’s how eager you were to get them to talk.
“This is so exciting! You have to go ovet there!”
"I don’t know.. do you think he'll like me?" he spoke defensively.
“Why wouldn’t he? Who wouldn’t love you? Go talk to him right now,” you ushered, lightly pushing his shoulder playfully.
"R-Right now? No... no.. I can't," he blushed, looking over your shoulder again.
“Do you need me to go and drag you over to him? Because I will,” you threatened, “Don't you think for a second that I won't shout out your name to him in front of everybody.”
“He wouldn’t even hear you over this music,” he said nervously. You raised an eyebrow, challengingly.
“Oh really?” you smirked deviously.
You put your hands on the bar table and lifted yourself up to your feet, off the seat. Your cupped your hands over your mouth and was about to shout when Brendon reacted quickly, standing up, and throwing his arms around you. One arm held onto your waist tightly while the other grabbed onto your face covering your mouth.
Little did you know on the other side of the room, Bucky had walked out of whatever room he was in and locked eyes on you. His saw Brandon’s arms around you, holding you in a tight lock and his blood began to boil. Not only was he about to push everyone out of his way, but he was ready to fight. If looks could kill, you're sure that the guy would be dead on the floor.
However, he was held back by one of the men he was speaking to and he knew if he left abruptly, things would not end well. His his deathstare on Brandon, he roughly leaned against the wall facing you while talking to the man.
Brendon shook his head vigorously, with his eyes widening. “Stop, no! That won't be necessary,” he said making sure you don't move.
"But I-" you protested, trying to escape his grip and walk over to Gavin, however he then lifted you up and made you face the other way.
From an outsiders perspective, it looked as though you were being manhandled. You honestly had lost track of time and forgot that Bucky was going to be coming back at any moment. Had you remembered, you would’ve warned Brandon that Bucky gets wary and defensive about you around other guys he doesn’t know or that you don’t know of. You laughed, almost looking like you were crying, as you could hear his heart racing against you.
You loved to tease him.
Bucky, from afar, has had enough. He didn't like how this man, Brandon, was handling you. With his eyes locked on where you were, he furiously stomped over to where you were and roughly placed his metal arm on his shoulder. He violently yanked Brandon back off of you, causing him to lose his grip and almost fall to the floor if he hadn’t grabbed onto one of the bar stools.
“Oh my gosh!” you gasped, turning around alarmed still laughing thinking that maybe he tripped or something. You then made eye contact with Bucky and the smile you once had diminished the moment you noticed his demeanor. Brandon noticed the tension coming from Bucky and looked at you.
During the time the two of you spent catching up, you told him about Bucky being the love of your life. He knew exactly who he was and was surprised that you and him were dating. Not from the fact that he was the Winter Soldier, but due to the fact that you were able to even get to speak to the Avengers. He thought of them as celebrities. He had even joked around about possibly stealing Bucky from you because he knew he was attractive.
"I suggest you keep your hands off my girl," Bucky spat, trying to square up with him. You wanted to take him seriously, but you knew this was all a misunderstanding.
“Buck, c’mon,” you said grabbing onto his arm, pulling him back. He wouldn’t lose his stare on him, but Brandon wasn’t intimidated. Instead, he flashed his gaze towards you raising his eyebrows amusingly. Bucky didn’t like this one bit.
“Well, I knew you were vicious, but I didn’t think you were still thaaaat brutal,” Brandon spoke, standing up straighter and clearing his throat. He knew of Bucky’s past, but to him he couldn’t have still been that bad if he were dating you.
Bucky was one step away from charging on him and you were not about to let that happen. You moved and stood in between them to create some distance.
“Do you think this is some kind of joke?” Bucky glared at him.
“Babe, this is Brandon-”
“I don’t care what his name is,” he said angrily cutting you off, “If I see him lay another finger on you I’ll-”
“For god’s sake Bucky. This is my best friend from high school.”
You mentally face palmed and rolled your eyes. You grabbed Bucky’s hand in your left hand and Brandon's hand in your right.
"Brandon meet James, whom I call Bucky, my boyfriend that you know very well and Buck meet Brandon my gay best friend,” you sighed. The moment your words rolled off your tongue, his face flushed with embarrassment.
“The only reason his hands were on me was because I was on my way over there to get that guy’s attention for Brandon," You pointed in the direction of the boy Brandon wanted. His gaze followed your finger and back to you. His let out a rough sigh and ran his hand down his face in defeat.
Bucky, still very embarrassed, walked away, shaking his head.
“I’m very sorry about him. I should’ve said something earlier,” you half-chuckled, “You’re not hurt are you?” He smiled waving it off.
“Nah, I’m fine, don’t even worry about it. I can understand why he was upset. Hell.. I can see why you like him,” he winked. Your felt your cheeks becoming warm, as you glanced to the side looking at Bucky.
“I should go to him. Now, go talk to Gavin or I swear I will, and you will not want that," you demanded, “We’ll catch up again later?”
“For sure, maybe I could make it up to your boyfriend another time so there’s no hard feelings. Go handle your sexy beast," he smirked and began walking to Gavin after one last hug.
You exhaled as you strolled over to Bucky who was facing the corner shaking his head. You slid your arms around his torso and pulled his back into your chest. You grinned as you stood on your tippy-toes, bringing your mouth near his ear, pressing a kiss below his earlobe.
“You know... you are hot when you're protective.”
