Hi everyone!!!
So I’m listening to everyone and I’m writing a part 2 for this story! I’m putting it out there so now I have to do it :P so part 2 will wrap this story up in a sweet bundle of fluff and happiness.
However! I received a request for an angsty, sad Peter Pan x Reader and I have a fun idea I want to write. So I’m going to write a Part 3. Part 3 will pick up from Part 2 but it will end … not happily. So for those that want a sweet and cute ending, you can stop reading at Part 2, but if you want a sad ending, you can read through to Part 3.
Absolutely your choice what kind of ending you want. Hopefully I can execute this right and it will be satisfying and well rounded regardless of which ending you read.
But thanks for sticking with me! I am writing the parts now so bare with me! If you want to be tagged for those parts please let me know!!

I Told You To Stay
Pairing: Peter Pan x Reader
Prompt: Peter told you to stay.
A/N: Ayoooo lol I'm alive. Anywho Y'ALL I GRADUATED COLLEGE and the first thing I accomplished after was writing this fanfic. How have y'all been? Now I have some free time and a desk job so I have time to write more. I literally got the idea for this scenario from a dream I had. So... This one gets a little heated but nothing explicit.
Tumblr media
"Where do you think you're going?" Peter teases you as he grabs your arm to spin you around.
You were the second Lost Girl to have ever made it to the island. The first will always be Wendy. Wendy continues to be the mother figure around the island while you were free to run off hunting and exploring with the Lost Boys. You could never shake the feeling that either Wendy hated you or envied you. She would be stuck cooking and caring for the boy while you were almost like a sister. You two never got along too well, the feeling of competition was always there.
The second that you came to the island and met everyone, it was no surprise that Peter was the one that caught your eye.
However, you were always hesitant to let any hope blossom in you since you thought that Peter and Wendy were together. And if they weren’t, she would have first dibs on him anyway. But that fact never stopped your crush and admiration of him from growing. Day in and day out, you were running through the forests with him and protecting the Lost Boys together.
Tonight was a quiet and warm night and everyone had had their dinners and was heading to bed. Wendy had made dinner and stayed back at the camp to clean up. You were heading towards your cabin before Peter grabbed your arm.
“You aren’t going to bed already, are you?” Peter asked with his usual smirk.
“Why, huh? You got something in mind worth my while?”
“Only one way to find out, I suppose.” He hides his smile from you as he leads you into the forest. That leads to where you are now. Running through the trees and climbing up the cliff as Peter is bounding off in front of you.
Coming to a stop behind Peter, you drop your hands to your knees and your head drops to start gasping for air. “Are we there yet? I feel like my lungs are going to explode!”
All of a sudden you’re squealing in delight because Peter ran over to you and scooped you into the air, carrying you bridal style. He takes off flying and your arms shoot out and wrapped around his neck.
“What are you doing?!”
“Taking you up to see the stars!” He yelled over the whistling wind as you continued laughing until tears formed in your eyes.
Daring to peek over his shoulders, you gasp at the beautiful aerial view of the island before he dives and does a giant loop in the air. Hugging him close, you shove your face into his neck and breathe in his scent. Though the night was cool, you felt warm against him. Wanting this moment to last forever but you know it can’t, you decide that you will hold this memory so you can always relive this happiness that you feel.
Feeling dizzy either from the adrenaline or from him, you rest your head against him and press a soft kiss on his neck.
Suddenly, Peter tosses you lightly into the air and you are airborne before he catches you but now your position has changed. Now you are sitting, straddling his hips, as his hands come to your behind to carry your weight. Your arms wrap around his neck again but now you are face-to-face with him.
As a blush covers your face, you whisper, “Well hi there.”
He gives you a small smile as he looks at your thorough hooded eyes, “Much better don’t you think? Now I can see you.”
You sit there, chest to chest with breaths mingling, completely suspended in the air over a cliff. “What are we doing, Y/N?” His whisper caresses your skin and he leans in just a little bit closer.
“What do you mean?” You can’t help but do the same, almost like a string pulling you to him.
“You know exactly what I mean. Have you casted a spell on me? Making me dream of you every night and thinking of you every minute the sun is up? Have you made yourself my personal magnet to me so I can never not be near you? Are you bewitching me?” He continues to whisper as one of his hands drags up your body and grips the back of your neck, pulling you in closer until your noses are barely touching.
Your breaths are coming out shaking but your fingers find their way to his hand and you tighten your hold, desperately keeping him close.
“What if it’s you that is playing with my head?”
Your lips are brushing against each other but not quite touching. Your brain fogs with desire but it’s all pulled away from you as Peter abruptly pulls away and starts flying back to land.
“Wha-” You’re dizzy from the sudden change but you aren’t able to be stable on your feet before Peter is hurriedly pulling you through the trees. Silently giggling and running through the forest, your heart is beating out of your chest.
Coming to a clearing, you see a small and simple log cabin sitting by itself. There are a few steps leading up to a porch that surrounds the little cabin.
“Where are we, Peter?”
“This is my place.” He finally slows down to a stop.
He comes up behind you and wraps his arms around you as he shoves his face into the crook of your neck. The movement pulls a giggle out of your throat but you don’t take your eyes off the cute cottage.
“I thought you had a tent back at the campsite with everyone else, hm? Are you keeping secrets from us now?” You tease.
“I always have secrets, don’t you know. But this is my own quiet place. I come here when I need to think. Or when I’m scheming.” He tickles your sides and gives your neck a quick kiss before he straightens. “Come on, let’s go inside.” He takes your hand and walks you into the cabin.
The inside of the cabin matches its look on the outside. Comfortable. Simple. Nothing extravagant. The main room is open. One side seems to act as a dining room with a large table with a few chairs beside it. The other side of the room has a matching large table but this table is covered in maps, scrolls, trinkets, and many other items you did not recognize. You see a door towards the back of the cabin which you could tell leads to a bedroom.
“Here, let me get you some water before you pass out on me.”
But before Peter could take a step or before you could even respond, a voice calls out from the back room.
“Peter darling? Did you just get home?”
The blood drains from your face and your eyes grow to saucers as you see Wendy walk out of the back room. Your ears started ringing and it feels as though everything is happening so fast yet so slowly.
Peter marches over to Wendy and angrily argues with her though you couldn’t hear anything over the muffling in your ears. “What are you doing here? Who said you could be here?”
“What are you talking about, baby? Don’t be like that.”
Wendy tries to run her hands up Peter’s front side but her hands do not get far before he grabs her hands and throws them off of him.
Your eyes shoot back and forth between Peter and Wendy and you could hear yourself mumbling, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know. I didn’t-” You hadn’t realized that you were backing up until you felt the front door hit your back.
Before you knew it, Peter was in front of you. All you could do was stare up at him with your heart ready to leap out of your chest. You were confused and hurt and scared and you wanted to be mad. But looking up at him. With his face soft and full of worry. All you could do was trust. Trust in what, you weren’t sure. But a wave of calmness fell over you as you looked at him and his hands came up to softly grip your shoulders.
Peter was gently moving you through the cabin and you could hear Wendy protesting but you couldn’t clear your head enough to hear what she was saying. Peter leads you to the back room which is his bedroom. He sits you on his bed and whispers to you, “Stay here.”
“Peter, I can go. I should’ve known you two were together. I shouldn’t be here, I can go.” But before you could make a move for the door, Peter grips your face gently but firmly, “I said ‘stay here’. I will figure this out. I’m not with her. She isn’t welcome here. You. Stay. Here.”
Peter slammed the door behind him as he left and all you could do was sit on the bed as you were told. Looking around the room, there wasn’t much there to keep you entertained. There was a nightstand by the bed with a few nicknacks on it. A desk with papers covered in writing you couldn’t read. No pictures. No posters. Nothing. Twiddling your thumbs, you tried to not overthink. You sat as patiently as you could but as the minutes ticked by and their angry whispering didn't stop, your anxiety started to kick up.
What if he is lying? Why would she just randomly be here? She’s comfortable enough coming in and out of his place like that. He could just be telling me what I want to hear. Of course, they’re together. Even a blind person could see that they were together. When did I become so dumb?! I need to get out of here.
Your breathing starts to become more rapid as your mind starts spiraling. Looking around the room, there was only one door, and that led back to the main room where Peter and Wendy are. The only other thing in the room was a window that sat above the desk. That was your ticket out. You thank the stars that you weren’t on an upstairs floor or anything or else this escape plan was going to be harder than you thought.
Swinging the window wide enough for your body to fit through, you quietly climbed up onto the table, careful not to disturb anything, and started to push out. You managed to make your way out but you accidentally made a loud thump as your body hit the back deck. Before you could stop and think about what to do, you jumped to your feet and took off running into the forest.
You ran until your lungs burned and ran some more. All around you were trees, trees, and more trees. Everything looked the same yet you didn’t recognize where you were. “Shit I should have been paying attention on the way here. Where the fuck am I?”
Coming to a stop, you drop your hands to your knees to try and catch your breath. After a few deep breaths, you stand up tall and prepare to take off again, at a more reasonable pace this time that you’re far enough away.
But before you could head off, something flies into you and you go slamming back into a tree. A warm, hard body pushes up against you and holds you flush against the tree with no room to escape. It’s still too dark in the night and the trees are blocking the moonlight so you can’t see what has you pinned. You start wiggling around and try to use your hands to push yourself free but a hand wraps around your wrists and pins them above your head. Something comes close to your ear and you could feel the anger radiating from this figure.
“I thought I told you to stay.”

Come Back to Me
Stay Away From Him pt. 2
Pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Reader
Prompt: Miguel has been away on a mission for too long and he comes back different.
A/N: I LOVE YOU GUYS! I am so happy that you guys loved part 1 so much that I knew I had to write some more. 99.99% of everyone asked for fluff, but unfortunately for everyone, I excel in tension and dramatic ass scenes. This scenario literally came to me in my dreams so I had to write it. I'm tagging everyone that left me a message or mentioned they would like a part 2. I hope you guys like it and don't hate me if you don't!
For new readers, welcome! You do not need to read part 1 to understand this part. If you guys hate this part, I will write more and I'll write some fluff to make up for it lol
Part 1
Tumblr media
Taking a deep breath and letting out a sigh, you roll your shoulders and stretch out your muscles. You were inside Miguel’s chamber at your desk where you work. It was quiet there, only a few people were working about but none were talking above hushed whispers. Looking over the top of your monitor to see who was around, you notice that a few people were already looking at you before their glances shot away when you made eye contact with them. You think it was strange but you have been catching weird glances from people for a few weeks now.
 Looking over at the empty dais, your heart pangs a little when you are reminded that Miguel isn’t there. It’s been about a month since your incident with Miguel. And every day since then, things have been awkward. Miguel was sending you off to help other people and giving you work that would keep you away for days at a time. He barely said a few words to you and looked at you even less.
A week after the incident happened, a mission came up and Miguel went to handle it. That was 2 weeks ago. It’s been radio silent since then. Jessica assures you that Miguel is checking in with her and everything is fine. She says that she’s been in contact with him and helping him through his mission, but still, that didn’t reassure you. Miguel always went over every mission with you. You always assisted him through every trip. You were his eyes and ears then all of a sudden he doesn’t even want to tell you he’s leaving or where he was going?
You were tempted to ask him not to go but you held your tongue. Ever since Miguel left, you had a bad feeling in your gut but you ignored it. Maybe he just doesn’t want to talk to me. That’s fine! If he wants to get all moody and dramatic then fine. He can check in with Jessica then. Have her run around for him. Huffing out a breath again, you refocus on the task you were working on.
You were pulled out of your focus when you heard in the distance, “Everyone, we are going into a soft lockdown. I repeat, soft lockdown. Gwen and Hobie meet up in Room 5. Keep it quiet. Y/N is still in the dark. Let’s keep it that way.” It sounded like Jessica’s voice coming through someone’s personal intercom. Picking up your own device, you check if you had accidentally turned it off since it didn’t go through yours, but it’s on. This means that Jessica purposefully sent out the message to everyone else, except for you. Y/N is still in the dark?
Pretending to stretch and yawn, you sneak a glance around the room again. The few people that were left in the room were huddled together, a few were walking out of the room urgently. But what made a shiver run up your spine was that everyone was looking at you. Everyone is hiding something from you. That is clear now. You weren’t sure what they were hiding but something in your gut is telling you it was bad. And it’s something to do with Miguel.
Room 5. She said they were meeting in Room 5. Not really sure where that is or what’s in there but it has got to explain why everyone has been acting so strangely. Standing up from your desk, the conversations in the room immediately stop and it’s utterly silent. Trying to act as normal as possible, you slowly walk out of the room.
After what felt like hours with your heart beating out of your chest, you finally found “Room 5”. Slowly creeping into the room, you can see that it is empty except for a giant cage in the middle of the room. The room is dark and there seems to be only one light directly above the cage. Surrounding the cage were Jessica, Gwen, Hobie, and Peter B. Parker, and inside the cage … was Miguel.
Except, it wasn’t Miguel. The Miguel in the cage was feral and animalistic. He was hunched over and crouched down low as if he was ready to attack. His arms are held out low to his side and his claws are extended. Though Miguel is already a naturally large guy, his tensed and flexed muscles seem to be bulging out more, giving him that beast-like appearance. His hair was a completely tangled mess, wild and unkempt. His breathing is frantic and unstable. Though he looks a mess, he is standing utterly still.
This isn’t Miguel. This isn’t your Miguel. Something is wrong. Something is seriously wrong.
Sneaking into the room and sticking to the shadows, no one in the room senses that you’re there. Everyone except for Miguel. As you slip into the room, he turns his head and watches you from over his shoulder but doesn’t make any other movements. Seeing him now, you could see that his lips are pulled back so that his fangs are out and on display. His eyes are wild and bloodshot red, though when he sees you, his eyes focus on you as if you’re prey. He doesn’t move and doesn’t make any sounds at you so you remain hidden from everyone else.
Everyone is oblivious to your presence and their conversation continues. Gwen is arguing with Jessica and it looks as though Peter is trying to keep the peace, though he’s not doing a good job. Hobie is casually leaning against the wall nearby giving off a nonchalant appearance but the look on his face indicates that he is upset.
“You can’t do this, Jessica! It could kill him!”
“What choice do we have? The next time he escapes, who knows what could happen. If the antidote doesn’t kill him then the poison that’s already in him will!”
“We still have time to find another way. Maybe he just needs more time and it’ll wear off.”
“Gwen, he doesn’t eat, he doesn’t sleep. He doesn’t even talk! All he does is growl and attack anyone that gets too close. This is getting out of hand!”
“Why don’t we tell, Y/N? Y/N should know about this. And you know as well as anyone else, he has a soft spot for her. Maybe she can help!”
“He’s been back for two weeks and he hasn’t gotten better. If he was going to get better he would have shown signs of it by now. If Y/N knows and he doesn’t snap out of it, how do you think Y/N would take it?”
“Why don’t you ask me?” You finally had enough and decided to make yourself known. Everyone turns abruptly as you step forward further into the room to be seen under the light.
“Two weeks?” You whisper as you look each one of them in the eyes and feeling betrayed, “He’s been back for two weeks and no one told me? None of you told me.”
Inside the cage, Miguel turns his body completely to be fully facing you now. The entire time, his eyes never leave you. Finally having the time to look him over completely, what you saw broke your heart. He looked tired but also on high alert to attack. There were dark bags under his eyes and his face seems sunken in. His eyes seem to soften slightly as he looks back at you but his face is still grimacing. While you were too busy watching him, what you didn’t see was all the knowing looks that everyone else was passing to each other.
“Not only did you keep this from me, but now I learn that you want to kill him?!” Instead of feeling hurt, now your adrenaline is kicking in. You’re feeling angry and upset and … panicked. Your mind feels like it’s on a high and you’re acting without thinking.
“No, Y/N, we aren’t killing him. We managed to create an antidote but it only has a small chance of working … and a big chance of killing him. But it’s the only choice we got!” Jessica tries to reason with you.
“And you would take that chance?” How could they even consider this an option? I have to do something and do it quick.
“We don’t have another choice.” Peter jumps in now, speaking in a calm tone.
“Let’s think about it some more.” Gwen is speaking to Jessica now and their original argument from when you first entered the room resumes. The three go back to arguing with one another and Hobie still stays on the sidelines. Except this time, he’s not watching them. He’s watching you. He’s giving you an intense look as if he was trying to tell you a message.
Slowly but pointedly, he looks at the door of the cage. Following his line of sight, you look back at the cage. The cage is locked but the key is a fingerprint pad. Which means that anyone who has clearance can open it. And you have clearance. Being Miguel’s assistant, you are allowed clearance to nearly everything he is. Looking back at Hobie, he inclines his head slightly to the cage and gives you one firm nod of confirmation.
Throwing a quick glance at the arguing three to confirm that they are preoccupied, without giving it a second thought, you take off running for the cage. Before anyone could react, you slam your hand down onto the pad. Less than a second later, you are throwing the door to the cage open and slamming it shut behind you. “Are you out of your mind?!” You hear Gwen yell at you and the others are yelling too but you’re not listening.
Now you’re staring face-to-face with a feral Miguel. Miguel has crouched low at your sudden entrance and his claws and fangs are fully on display, though he doesn’t move close to you. He’s standing still and watching you for your move. The world seems to fade away and your sole focus is on him but you could feel the flurry going on outside of the cage. But you don’t look, you keep your attention strictly on his face.
Half expecting to be mauled to death the instant you got inside the cage, you are happily surprised that Miguel seems more cautious of you at the moment. Testing your luck, you hold out both hands in front of you and take a hesitant step forward. Again to your surprise, Miguel inches back. Testing it again, you take a full step this time, and again he backs away from you.
“Careful, now.” Hobie sounds close. Turning to look over your shoulder, you see that Hobie is walking closer to the cage. Miguel lets out a low growl and your eyes shoot back to him. But looking back at him, his stance is different. He looks like he’s ready to pounce. His expression has also turned more deadly and angry. But rather than looking at you like you expected, he’s staring over your shoulder. He’s watching Hobie.
You can hear Hobie’s steps getting closer and the closer he comes, the more agitated Miguel gets. Miguel is starting to walk closer to you now but his eyes are still fixed on Hobie. Seeing that Miguel is moving towards you, Hobie says. “Y/N, I think it’s time to go. Let’s not push our luck, yeah?” Hobie is speaking in a serious tone, he’s not asking.
Without warning, Hobie shoots out his web onto your back and pulls you back towards the door. Your body is jerked back but you don’t get far because suddenly Miguel is there. He jumps forward and wraps one arm around your body and his other arm shoots to your back and slashes the web off of you. The web breaks easily under his claws and he is pulling you back further into the cage. He stops in the middle of the cage where he abruptly lays you down on the floor.
Thinking that he’s attacking you, your hands shoot up to your face but when nothing hits you, you peek through your fingers and look up at him. Miguel is crouching on all fours atop of you as you’re laid out completely on your back. His knees are straddling your thighs and his hands are on either side of your head. He is hunched low as if he was protecting your body. His face is looking up, you assume it’s towards Hobie still.
“Hey.” You whisper. He only shoots you a quick look but his head jerks back up again. Finding the courage, you try again, “Hey.” Except this time, you gingerly bring your hand up and let your fingers touch his cheek. He jerks at the touch and turns his head to look down at you. That motion puts his face firmly in your hand and now you’re cupping his face.
“Hey there, big guy.” He’s leaning into your touch and his body falls even lower. Your other hand comes up and it rests on his chest and you could feel his heart beating as if he just ran a marathon. All he does is just stare at you. You were waiting for something to happen. Maybe he’ll snap out of it and become normal again. Maybe he will just snap your neck and be done with it. But no. He doesn’t move. Just looks at you.
“Y/N, can you get out?” Jessica asks from somewhere in the room.
“I’m not going anywhere. He’s fine. Keep working on an antidote that will actually help him. I’ll keep him calm.” No one responds back to you but you can hear footsteps receding and you know that you two are now alone in the room. A few beats go by in the silence before Miguel starts showing signs of relaxing.
His lower body lowers and is laying on top of you. Miguel falls down to his elbows and it brings his face even closer to yours. He nuzzles the top of your head and you could feel the tip of his nose run through your hair as he travels down your body. Your hand that was resting on his cheek travels down his neck and lands against his chest. Your close your eyes and will yourself to keep a clear head.
The tip of his nose runs down to your cheek and he stills for just one moment when his lips graze yours. “What happened to you? I’m scared. Come back to me.” You whisper against his lips. You suck in a breath when his tongue darts out to lick your bottom lip but he doesn’t respond. One of his hands comes up to cup one side of your neck, keeping you still. His hand tightens ever so slightly there, not hard but putting enough pressure to make your heart skip.
He continues his exploration of you with the tip of his nose. His nose drags along your jawline which makes you tint your head up in response to give him more access. Taking it as an invitation, Miguel continues and comes up to your ear, and gives you a little nibble there. You notice that your breathing has turned to panting. He continues to play with your ear by tracing with his lips. Goosebumps appear on your skin as your body grows warmer and warmer. Your head feels intoxicated and no thoughts filter into your head, only your senses are alive.
You let out a loud gasp when Miguel suddenly nuzzles into your exposed neck and you could feel him smiling against your skin. His hand around your neck tightens some more and it pulls you closer. He runs his lips softly over your skin, feathering light kisses wherever he pleases. To your surprise, you feel a nick of pain on your neck and you realize that he gave you a bite with his fangs. You feel his tongue come out again and lick up the bit of blood that escapes. A shiver of excitement travels down your body and you have to mentally shake yourself. This feels wrong but you don’t have the heart to tell him to stop.
“Come back to me.” You whisper again almost like a prayer this time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s many hours later, well into the night,  and Jessica and Hobie came back to check on you. They’re standing side by side outside of the cage staring at the spectacle that’s in front of them. Jessica with her arms crossed in front of her chest and Hobie with his hands on his hips. “Huh. Ain’t that something?” Hobie asks.
In the middle of the cage are you and Miguel, sleeping soundly. You are curled into his front and he is curled around you like his limbs are vines. An arm is under your head, keeping you off the hard concrete floor, the other arm curled around you and wrapping up your back. His lower body is curled up tight against you. His body acting like a shield. You two fit perfectly together. Your hair was a mess and even from across the room, they could tell that your clothes were all rumpled.
“You think those two ever going figure it out?” Jessica asks.
“We’ll they haven’t so far. They wouldn’t be able to see what’s right in front of them even if a bus hit ‘em.”
She lets out a scoff of amusement, “I know. Remember when Y/N snapped at him and he was mopey for a whole week? God that was hell."
"Yeah? You shoulda seen how this one was sighing around while he was 'away'." Hobie shoots back at her with a chuckle.
"Anywho, I didn’t think the poison would’ve been that strong though. I was hoping to have this done in less than a week.”
“Eh, I might have given him a little more than we planned.” “Of course you did,” she lets out a sigh, “Guess that explains why it took him so long to calm down. It should be wearing off soon right?”
“Yeah, day or so.”
“Good. Let’s see them try to deny their feelings after this.”
I Told You To Stay
Coming to a stop behind Peter, you drop your hands to your knees and your head drops to start gasping for air. “Are we there yet? I feel like my lungs are going to explode!”
All of a sudden you’re squealing in delight because Peter ran over to you and scooped you into the air, carrying you bridal style. He takes off flying and your arms shoot out and wrapped around his neck.
“What are you doing?!”
“Taking you up to see the stars!” He yelled over the whistling wind as you continued laughing until tears formed in your eyes.
Daring to peek over his shoulders, you gasp at the beautiful aerial view of the island before he dives and does a giant loop in the air. Hugging him close, you shove your face into his neck and breathe in his scent. Though the night was cool, you felt warm against him. Wanting this moment to last forever but you know it can’t, you decide that you will hold this memory so you can always relive this happiness that you feel.
Feeling dizzy either from the adrenaline or from him, you rest your head against him and press a soft kiss on his neck.
Suddenly, Peter tosses you lightly into the air and you are airborne before he catches you but now your position has changed. Now you are sitting, straddling his hips, as his hands come to your behind to carry your weight. Your arms wrap around his neck again but now you are face-to-face with him.
As a blush covers your face, you whisper, “Well hi there.”
He gives you a small smile as he looks at your thorough hooded eyes, “Much better don’t you think? Now I can see you.”
You sit there, chest to chest with breaths mingling, completely suspended in the air over a cliff. “What are we doing, Y/N?” His whisper caresses your skin and he leans in just a little bit closer.
“What do you mean?” You can’t help but do the same, almost like a string pulling you to him.
“You know exactly what I mean. Have you casted a spell on me? Making me dream of you every night and thinking of you every minute the sun is up? Have you made yourself my personal magnet to me so I can never not be near you? Are you bewitching me?” He continues to whisper as one of his hands drags up your body and grips the back of your neck, pulling you in closer until your noses are barely touching.
Your breaths are coming out shaking but your fingers find their way to his hand and you tighten your hold, desperately keeping him close.
“What if it’s you that is playing with my head?”
Your lips are brushing against each other but not quite touching. Your brain fogs with desire but it’s all pulled away from you as Peter abruptly pulls away and starts flying back to land.
“Wha-” You’re dizzy from the sudden change but you aren’t able to be stable on your feet before Peter is hurriedly pulling you through the trees. Silently giggling and running through the forest, your heart is beating out of your chest.
Coming to a clearing, you see a small and simple log cabin sitting by itself. There are a few steps leading up to a porch that surrounds the little cabin.
“Where are we, Peter?”
“This is my place.” He finally slows down to a stop.
He comes up behind you and wraps his arms around you as he shoves his face into the crook of your neck. The movement pulls a giggle out of your throat but you don’t take your eyes off the cute cottage.
“I thought you had a tent back at the campsite with everyone else, hm? Are you keeping secrets from us now?” You tease.
“I always have secrets, don’t you know. But this is my own quiet place. I come here when I need to think. Or when I’m scheming.” He tickles your sides and gives your neck a quick kiss before he straightens. “Come on, let’s go inside.” He takes your hand and walks you into the cabin.
The inside of the cabin matches its look on the outside. Comfortable. Simple. Nothing extravagant. The main room is open. One side seems to act as a dining room with a large table with a few chairs beside it. The other side of the room has a matching large table but this table is covered in maps, scrolls, trinkets, and many other items you did not recognize. You see a door towards the back of the cabin which you could tell leads to a bedroom.
“Here, let me get you some water before you pass out on me.”
But before Peter could take a step or before you could even respond, a voice calls out from the back room.
“Peter darling? Did you just get home?”
The blood drains from your face and your eyes grow to saucers as you see Wendy walk out of the back room. Your ears started ringing and it feels as though everything is happening so fast yet so slowly.
Peter marches over to Wendy and angrily argues with her though you couldn’t hear anything over the muffling in your ears. “What are you doing here? Who said you could be here?”
“What are you talking about, baby? Don’t be like that.”
Wendy tries to run her hands up Peter’s front side but her hands do not get far before he grabs her hands and throws them off of him.
Your eyes shoot back and forth between Peter and Wendy and you could hear yourself mumbling, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know. I didn’t-” You hadn’t realized that you were backing up until you felt the front door hit your back.
Before you knew it, Peter was in front of you. All you could do was stare up at him with your heart ready to leap out of your chest. You were confused and hurt and scared and you wanted to be mad. But looking up at him. With his face soft and full of worry. All you could do was trust. Trust in what, you weren’t sure. But a wave of calmness fell over you as you looked at him and his hands came up to softly grip your shoulders.
Peter was gently moving you through the cabin and you could hear Wendy protesting but you couldn’t clear your head enough to hear what she was saying. Peter leads you to the back room which is his bedroom. He sits you on his bed and whispers to you, “Stay here.”
“Peter, I can go. I should’ve known you two were together. I shouldn’t be here, I can go.” But before you could make a move for the door, Peter grips your face gently but firmly, “I said ‘stay here’. I will figure this out. I’m not with her. She isn’t welcome here. You. Stay. Here.”
Peter slammed the door behind him as he left and all you could do was sit on the bed as you were told. Looking around the room, there wasn’t much there to keep you entertained. There was a nightstand by the bed with a few nicknacks on it. A desk with papers covered in writing you couldn’t read. No pictures. No posters. Nothing. Twiddling your thumbs, you tried to not overthink. You sat as patiently as you could but as the minutes ticked by and their angry whispering didn't stop, your anxiety started to kick up.
What if he is lying? Why would she just randomly be here? She’s comfortable enough coming in and out of his place like that. He could just be telling me what I want to hear. Of course, they’re together. Even a blind person could see that they were together. When did I become so dumb?! I need to get out of here.
Your breathing starts to become more rapid as your mind starts spiraling. Looking around the room, there was only one door, and that led back to the main room where Peter and Wendy are. The only other thing in the room was a window that sat above the desk. That was your ticket out. You thank the stars that you weren’t on an upstairs floor or anything or else this escape plan was going to be harder than you thought.
Swinging the window wide enough for your body to fit through, you quietly climbed up onto the table, careful not to disturb anything, and started to push out. You managed to make your way out but you accidentally made a loud thump as your body hit the back deck. Before you could stop and think about what to do, you jumped to your feet and took off running into the forest.
You ran until your lungs burned and ran some more. All around you were trees, trees, and more trees. Everything looked the same yet you didn’t recognize where you were. “Shit I should have been paying attention on the way here. Where the fuck am I?”
Coming to a stop, you drop your hands to your knees to try and catch your breath. After a few deep breaths, you stand up tall and prepare to take off again, at a more reasonable pace this time that you’re far enough away.
But before you could head off, something flies into you and you go slamming back into a tree. A warm, hard body pushes up against you and holds you flush against the tree with no room to escape. It’s still too dark in the night and the trees are blocking the moonlight so you can’t see what has you pinned. You start wiggling around and try to use your hands to push yourself free but a hand wraps around your wrists and pins them above your head. Something comes close to your ear and you could feel the anger radiating from this figure.
“I thought I told you to stay.”
Hello Everyone!!!
Thank you so much everyone for enjoying “Stay Away From Him”! Lol I loved across the Spiderverse so much I just had to!
A few people have asked me to do a part 2 and I would love to, however, when I originally wrote the piece, it was intended as a one shot so I wasn’t thinking about where else it could go.
So if y’all are down for a part 2, please give me some ideas and let me know how intense you want it 👀
If not, then I’ll be happy to do more one shots (it’s what I do best)
Let me know! But in the end, I’m still so happy that the piece is doing well and y’all like it so much!
Stay Away From Him
Pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Reader
Prompt: Miguel is jealous of your closeness with Hobie and tells you to stay from him.
A/N: Well I have had too much free time at work and all I've been doing is writing. Kinda love it. Also, how did y'all like Across the Spider-Verse? I saw it four times in theaters, it's like a drug in my veins. Anywho I figured I wanted to do a fanfic in a world that I haven't done yet so here it is!
Part 2
Tumblr media
“Hey, Y/N.”
“Hey, Peter!”
“Hey, Y/N”
“Oh hey, Peters.”
“Oi! Y/N!” Recognizing the accent, you look up in the air and see Hobie swinging his way over to you.
“Hobie! What are you doing here?!”
This was your second week working inside the Spider-Verse headquarters. You were the only person there who wasn’t some version of Spiderman. One day, Miguel O’Hara was in your universe for a job, bing bang boom, next thing you knew, he offered you a job. Your job here at headquarters was to act as his assistant of sorts. Help him with errands, help him on missions, and fetch him lunch because the poor man will work until he starves. That was exactly what you are doing now. You had finished locating the latest anomaly and went down to the cafeteria to grab him some empanadas.
Working at headquarters was like a living dream. So far, everyone seems to like you and you’ve already made friends. Hobie and Gwen welcomed you with open arms and the three of you became inseparable. During your time working with Miguel, you may have developed a little crush on your boss. You never told anyone about how your heart starts beating faster or how your breath gets shaky when he stands a little too close. Though, you never had to say because everyone could see it. And everyone warned you away from the infamous Miguel O’Hara.
“He’s not for you. He’s obsessed with his work and barely knows what having fun or being nice is. I doubt he even knows there’s a life outside of this place.” Gwen said one day during lunch.
“Who’s not for me? What are you talking about? I’m just here to work.” You shovel food into your mouth in an attempt to hide your face.
“Mmhmm, sure. You can deny it all you want but if you keep staring at him all weird like that, even he’s going to start to notice. Just trust me, you should just try to stay away from him. Which I guess isn’t possible since he’s your boss but you know what I mean.”
“Though it does raise the question as to why he recruited her, don’t it?” Hobie chimes in.
Hobie jumps on your back and it pulls you back to the present.
“I’m here for it! Whatchu think? I would willingly come here? Nah.”
“Actually! We just finished a mission so we just came to check in with Miguel.” Gwen swings down and lands right next to you. The three of you continue walking side by side down the hall to Miguel. Hobie throws his arm casually around your shoulder, keeping you close to his side.
You walk into the main room and see that Miguel is standing on his platform up in the air. There are a few people milling around the room, minding their business. People tend to hover around Miguel in case any missions come up or if he needs help.
“Miguel! I got you some empanadas!” You yell up at him.
He turns and barely glances over his shoulder at the three of you. He grunts and rolls his eyes in annoyance but his platform starts its slow descent. Gwen runs over to Jessica and they start talking. Hobie walks with you over to your little desk that sits on the ground floor …. like a regular person.
“So we still on for tonight?” Hobie asks.
“What’s tonight?” You turn and ask Hobie. You lean your butt against the desk to look up at him. He gets in close, places his hands against the desk on both sides of you, and cages you in with his arms.
“Whatchu mean what’s tonight? Did you forget already? Thought you and Gwen were staying in my place tonight!” Hobie teases you.
“Oh, Hobie! I forgot about that, I can’t come over.” Gwen yells over before she turns back to her conversation.
“Guess it’s just us then.” He mumbles and gives you a wink.
Before you could respond, Miguel’s voice booms through the large chamber.
“Y/N isn’t going anywhere tonight.” Looking over, you see that Miguel has lowered his platform as far as it could go and he is staring directly at the two of you with a deadly look on his face. All the conversations in the room died down and you could tell that everyone's eyes were looking between you and Miguel. Everyone treads carefully around Miguel … everyone except Hobie.
“What? You keeping her hostage now?”
All of a sudden feeling nervous, unsure as to what put Miguel in a foul mood and not wanting to make it worse, you try to straighten up and stand in attention but Hobie isn’t moving.
“We’ve got work to do here, Hobie. Unlike you, some of us have things we have to do.” Miguel crosses his arms and stares down at Hobie.
“What work? We caught all the known anomalies already. Plus I was going to work on my bike, give it some more bells and whistles.” Jessica pipes up.
“There’s more work to do than just waiting around for things to happen.”
“Then what do I gotta do, hmm?” Jessica sasses back to him.
“Nothing. I, uh, just want to do some surveillance. Never know ”
“And what Y/N got to do with it, then?” Hobie asks, giving Miguel a weird look.
“Y/N is my assistant. Y/N must assist me. And get off of her Hobie.”
“Right, but it don’t sound like there is any real work to do. I don’t see why Y/N gotta sit here and suffer being around you. And, uh, I’m actually quite comfortable where I am.”
“No no, I don’t mind. It’s my job. I can stay” You rush to say as you start pushing at Hobie’s shoulders.
Hobie turned slowly to look at you without budging and you just stared up at him. “Move.” you mouth to Hobie with beseechment in your eyes. But all he does is smile at you and barely visibly shakes his head ‘No’. Eyes wide, you think to yourself, I’m not going to have a job after this. The room is still silent and no one speaks as the tension rises.
“Everyone out!” Miguel booms, “Looks like no one wants to work anyways. It’s not as if we’re trying to save the entire universe or anything.”
“Oh! Miguel, we wanted to check in about the-” Gwen is cut off when Miguel turns back around to his monitors and yells, “OUT!”
Everyone exchanges nervous looks around the room while they pick up their things. The whole time though, Hobie is looking down at you with a knowing smirk on his face. “What are you smiling about?” You hiss at him as you push him up so you can grab your bag and head out.
“Oh just something I think you should find out for yourself. And you might soon.”
“Ugh, I’m going to kill you.”
Hobie throws his arm around you and leads you out, “Yeah sure, but hey, looks like you can come over after all, aye?”
“Everyone except for Y/N!” You whirl around at the sudden sound but Miguel is still just looking at his monitors.
“Damn, looks like you’re going to find out real soon. See ya sweet cheeks.” Hobie gives you a wink and walks out with everyone else.
You stood in the doorway waiting for Miguel’s instructions but after a few beats, you realized that he wasn’t going to turn around and talk to you. Slowly walking back to your desk, you couldn’t help but notice how the tension in the room did not leave along with everyone else. It still lay thick and heavy in the air. Taking off your bag and placing it on your desk, you turn around to face Miguel. You open your mouth to say something to break the silence but he cuts you off.
“Come up here and help me look at this.”
Your eyes grew wide and you hurried over to the dais. Your heartbeat started quickening with excitement, you have never been invited onto the platform before. Miguel looks down his nose at you with a disgusted look on his face as you struggle to even get your leg on the platform.
“Sorry, don’t got webs like y’all. Give me a second.”
You finally heave yourself up and flop over on your back, gulping down deep breaths of air. “You know, I’m starting to think I’m out of shape.” Figuring that it was time to actually get to work, you jump up to your feet and face the monitors.
“Alrighty, so what am I looking at?” All of the monitors were showing different videos of different universes. Some other monitors had new articles and alerts of potential disturbances.
“Just, uh, keep an eye on some of the security cameras we have posted around. See if you catch any suspicious activity.”
“Were you expecting something to happen tonight? Did you get a tip?”
“No, just doing our due diligence to keep everything in line.”
Your brows furrowed in confusion and you gave Miguel a side-eye look. This is what he’s keeping me here to do? To watch some cameras?
The whole time he was talking to you and giving you instructions, he did not glance at you, just busily pressing buttons and typing something.
About 10 minutes went by in absolute silence with Miguel working and you … “working”. Getting bored and tired on your feet, you start leaning around the table and let out a sigh. Miguel looks at you over his shoulder but turns back to his work. Another 10 minutes go by before he asks, “So you and Hobie are friends?”
Surprised by the question and surprised he even spoke, you responded, “Yeah, I would like to think so. He’s nice, I like hanging out with him.”
“You two have gotten close?”
Getting confused by his line of questioning, you give him a weird look that he doesn’t see. “I mean, I don’t know about close. We hang out with Gwen too. It’s usually the three of us.”
A few silent beats fall between the two of you before he responds, “I didn’t know you were visiting different universes.”
“Hmm, I’m not really. Besides my own home universe, I’ve only just been to Hobie’s. I haven’t seen Gwen’s though not even she goes back there.”
Again he doesn’t reply immediately and the comfortable silence continues.
“I would advise you to stay away from Hobie. He could be a bad influence on you or something.” He mumbles so quietly that you almost didn’t catch it.
“I’m sorry?” You asked, turning your body full to look at him now.
“I said ‘you should stay’-”
“No, I know what you said. But I don’t understand why. What’s going on with you? Are you stressed about something? Do you not like Hobie? Because Hobie has been nothing but nice to me and he’s a friend. He keeps me safe even when I visit his universe.”
“And exactly how many times have you visited his universe, hmm? You two seem pretty comfortable flying across universes together.” It was his turn to turn and face you. Standing at his full height, the tops of your head barely came up to his collar bones.
“I-I- … I don’t know. A few times I guess? 4? Maybe 5 times? But-”
“5 times?! You met him not even two weeks ago and you’ve already been hanging around him that much?” You were trying to explain to ease whatever caused his temper to rise. However, with every response you give, it only seems to anger him more. With every response, he is taking a step closer to you and walking you backward.
“I guess? But he’s my friend! And I’ve always been safe if that’s the issue. He keeps me safe. I know I’m not a Spider-Man like you but-” Miguel ignores your argument and cuts you off again.
“Right right and he keeps you safe which I am sure he is more than happy to do seeing as how he’s always getting up in your space. And what exactly do you do in his universe? You run around town like some hooligans and go back to your home universe when it’s late enough to be considered morning?”
“Ah- No, we hang out at his place and have dinner and stuff, I don’t know! And when it gets late I just stay over at his place!”
“Stay over?! What? Like overnight? He’s got guest rooms now? He’s hosting house parties?” There’s sarcasm dripping in his words but your brain was running too fast to notice.
“N-No he doesn’t. He’s not. He just lets me use his bed when I’m too tired to go home and I’d just wake up the next morning to come here.”
All of a sudden, he takes one last step forward and you take one step back but your backside hits the table. He drops his hands on either side of you, exactly like how Hobie had you pinned against your desk earlier but this is different. This feels different. The tension is palpable. With Hobie, it was friendly and playful. With Miguel … it feels like you’re getting hunted and just got caught.
“He what?” Miguel’s voice isn’t loud and angry anymore. No. It’s low and deadly. His question comes out always like a whisper as he leads in so close that your noses are practically touching.
“I don’t understand what’s happening. Hobie is just my friend. Why does this feel like it’s a problem?” You whisper. Miguel doesn’t reply. He simply stares at you with such intensity in his eyes, you’re surprised you didn’t evaporate. Suddenly, he’s looking at your lips. Acting almost instinctively, your tongue shoots out to wet your lips and his eyes immediately shoot back up to yours. There’s the intensity in his eyes again, only this time, it’s different. Definitely not anger.
Suddenly, an alarm from Miguel’s monitor goes off and the sound is thunderous in the silent chamber.
After a few beats, Miguel drops his forehead on yours, closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath. The whole time, you never take your eyes off of him. Your heart is beating so fast and the blood is rushing in your ears. Very abruptly, he pushes off of the table and whirls around to the monitor. He turns off the alarm and starts typing away, completely ignoring you. Slowly pushing up from the table, you turn back to your own monitor and stare blankly at the empty alleyways and random buildings.
Where there was comfortable silence before, now, the silence is deafening.
“You should go home Y/N. I can finish this up on my own.”
Not sure of how to act or how to respond, you slowly climb down from the platform without saying a word and fetch your things.
“And I mean home, Y/N. To your home universe. To your own house. To your own bed.”
Looking back up the dais, Miguel is still facing his monitors, not even looking at you when he talks. Hitching your bag higher up on your shoulder, you respond, “Of course. Goodnight, Miguel. And … for what it’s worth … he always slept on the couch.”
And with that, you take off running down the hall and teleport back home.
Tumblr media
“Loki, dear, you really should get some rest. You haven’t eaten or slept in days. This isn’t healthy for you.” A feminine voice carried through the room.
“I’m fine,” A deep voice grumbled.
“You certainly don’t look fine. At least take a shower or-”
“I said I’m fine, mother, leave it alone.”
She sighed and the room went quiet.
“She’s been unconscious for nearly a week now and the doctors don’t know when she will wake up.” He said.
“The doctors got her stable. She’s safe, she just needs to build up her strength and when she is strong enough, she will wake. You don’t need to fret.”
“How could you say that?! She was bleeding out right in front of me, I thought she was going to die. The doctors say that they stabilized her, yet she still lies there like a corpse. How can I not worry?”
The room was quiet for a beat before the woman spoke in a soft and quiet tone, “Loki, who is she? Who is she to you? I have never seen you worry over anyone, let alone a woman. I’ve seen her around before but I never thought she was someone of importance to you.”
The man never replied. The silence was deafening.
You were conscious enough to hear the conversation but all you could see was black. Using all the strength you had, you forced your eyes open. Your eyes only opened a sliver but it was enough for the bright sun to burn your eyes.
Wincing, you let out a small moan in protest. Goodness, it felt like knives were shoved down your throat. What happened to you?
“Y/N? Y/N, can you hear me?” The man’s voice asked you. You recognized your name so surely, he must know you.
You still keep your eyes tightly shut, afraid of the sun, but you felt his arms around your shoulders and back giving you support. You put your trust in him and use his support to slowly sit you up.
“I’ll go grab the doctors,” the woman called out before you heard heels clicking away from you and the sound of a door shutting behind her.
“Y/N, can you open your eyes? Let me see you,” the man’s voice cooed.
Shaking your head slightly while scrunching your brows together, you let out a moan of protest. You didn’t want to open your eyes, you were already feeling a headache coming on.
“Come on, I’ll shield your eyes. Try again for me, I need to see them, please. For me?” Whoever this man, you felt like you could trust. Something about him made you want to please him. There was this feeling of … home that settled in you when you heard his voice. That feeling should’ve frightened you but you liked his support.
Cautiously, you peel your eyes open. The room was still bright, but nearly as much as before. You could see his hand hovering over your eyes, blocking the sun from hitting your eyes. You take your time to adjust to the light and to take in your surroundings. The man next to you is patiently watching you with a conflicted look in his eyes.
“Are you alright?” You croak.
He lets out a chuckle in disbelief as he slowly lowers his hand, gauging your reaction. When he sees that you aren’t flinching away from the light, he walks away to a table on the side of the room.
Speaking as he pours a glass of water, he says, “If anyone should be asking that, it should be me to you. I wasn’t the one that was stabbed nearly to death.”
“I was stabbed?” You have no memory of this. Come to think of it, you have no memory at all. Touching your stomach, you wince slightly from a sharp pain there. Looking down at your gown, you slowly touch your side again and sure enough, you can feel bandages under your clothes.
The man comes back to your side and hands you the glass before he sits himself at the end of your bed. You greedily gulp down the water as he watches you.
“You don’t remember? The doctors warned me that you would most likely suffer from some short-term memory loss. You lost a lot of blood. We’re just happy to have you here alive. Don’t worry though, the doctors assured me that it would only be for a short time. Your memory will come back as you heal. If not, I know some very good witches that could help you as well.”
Water had never tasted so wonderful. You were so desperate for water, you didn’t even are as drops of water slipped from your lips and ran down your neck. Take a deep breath of air, you remove the empty glass away from your face, and hold it in your lap.
The man is smiling kindly at you as he reaches up to wipe your face. “Thank you. You’re very kind. I’m still very confused but … I think I would be lost if you weren’t here.”
He chuckles to himself, “You would be the first person, and most likely the only person, to ever say that to me,” he whispers.
“I’m sorry. You must be really important to me. I feel ... safe with you. I feel horrible for having to ask but …. Who are you? And, I guess, who are you to me?”
The man stares blankly at you for a second before he looks away, staring into the corner of the room. He’s sitting right beside you, but yet, at that moment it felt as though he was miles away. Whatever he was thinking was pulling him away from you.
Quickly backtracking, you say, “I’m sorry. Don’t even worry about it. You said it’s just some short-term memory loss. It’ll come back to me soon. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt or offend you. I just … can’t remember.” You hurried through your sentence but your voice died out towards the end. The longer he wasn’t looking at you, the worse you felt. It felt like dread was sinking in your stomach.
“No. It’s alright. You can’t help it. I’m not upset with you.” The man spoke but he still wasn’t looking at you.
“I know the woman who hurt you,” he whispered.
“You do?”
He responded with only a nod. The room felt stifling. It was dead silent and the air was still. You didn’t like what fell over him. You wanted the man who was doting over you mere seconds ago.
“I’m sorry-” you started to say.
“No.” The man said roughly before he quickly stood up from your bed.
“It isn’t you who should be sorry. I am. I’m sorry. It’s because of me you’re in this predicament.” He was looking at you as he spoke but he felt different. His eyes were staring daggers but yet, it didn’t feel as though they were directed at you.
A sinful, mischievous smile appeared on his face and he straightened to stand at his full height, towering over you now. “But not to worry. I will take care of it and make sure it will never happen again.”
“I don’t understand,” you mumble, frightened at the sudden change.
“You don’t need to. You need to focus on healing and getting your strength back. There should be food on the way for you. I must leave now.” With that, he quickly stepped back and headed for the door.
Right as he twisted the handle and pushed to leave, you protest, “No, please! Don’t go. I don’t know what’s going on or who anyone is. Please, I need you.”
He stands there in the doorway, looking out into the hall, not even glancing back at you.
“Please. You never even told me who you were. I’m scared,” you end with a whisper.
It feels like an eternity as he stands there, not moving.
“I’m sorry …. I must go.”
And with that, he pushed out and leaves. The bright room suddenly feels dull as you sit there, more confused than ever.
Together
Prompt: Persephone and Hades meet and fall in love before they are demanded to separate.
Pairing: Hades x Persephone
A/N: Hey guys! I know it’s been ages since I’ve written on here but I suddenly had the urge to get back to it. No one requested this but I simply love Hades and Persephone so I just started writing. It might be a little long but I really liked what I was doing with it so hopefully you like it too and have a read.
Tumblr media
Persephone opened her eyes and found herself very confused. She looked around her and found herself laying on a velvet couch in a dark cave. She couldn’t remember how she got there, the last thing she remembered was running around in a field of flowers she was tending. She could hear her friends giggling through the trees. Persephone had seen a shadow moving through the bushes and she tried to follow. Persephone grimaced and let out a sigh, this was why mother never let her go out, especially on her own. She always got lost. Everyone is probably worried sick.
Blinking her eyes to adjust to the dark lighting, she took a look around the room. Next to her, near the head of her couch, there sat a gold throne with black cushions. The room was big around her and her breath caught in her throat when she saw sitting in the middle of the room was the biggest god she had ever seen. If you could call it a dog. It was massive with three heads and she could see it’s sharp teeth every time it breathed. She was rather thankful that it was peacefully sleeping. She definitely didn’t want to find out what it would do to her if it was awake.
Slowly, Persephone pushed herself to sit upright on the couch and she froze in her seat when she saw a large, tall dark figure standing over a table, facing away from her, at the end of the room. She could vaguely see different dishes of food on the table and the man was picking a little of everything to put on his own dish. Persephone watched him move with a given grace to his movements and she found that she wasn’t scared. She felt oddly … content and at peace exactly where she was.
Persephone held her breath as the man slowly turned to face her. He lifted his head and gave a slight look of surprise when he saw her. In his hands was a plate of food and glass of water. He didn’t take a step towards her, simply just standing there staring at her as she stared back at him. “Hi,” she whispered but it seemed to echo off the walls.
He’s Mine
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Prompt: You and Loki are the classic, enemies to lovers. All is well until someone attacks you.
A/N: Hey y’all! It’s been a loooooong time and I haven’t been writing a lot lately but I thought of this prompt and I just had to! It got me really excited about writing again so hopefully, I can do more for y’all! Hope you all are well and I hope you like this piece!
Tumblr media
Walking through the thick of the crowd, you kept your eyes peeled out for a certain green god that was lurking around somewhere. You were in Asgard for a party being thrown for Thor for some sort of victory or another, you didn’t bother to care. You only cared about one of the brothers and it certainly was not him.
You and Loki had a complicated relationship at best. You two are enemies. Plain and simple. Or … at least that’s how it should’ve been, but not quite. You have lost count of how many times he held a knife against your throat, but funny thing, he never went for the killing strike. You have poisoned him numerous times and stood over him to gloat, but in the end, you gave him the antidote that would save his life. Now it has become a dance between you two and it’s all about winning to gloat, not to inflict any true harm, but it’s fun to have an “enemy” of sorts.
Reaching up to fix your black lace masquerade mask, your floor-length emerald green satin slip dress brushes against your skin. A hand knife is concealed and holstered to the inside of your thigh, in case you wanted to have a little fun. The party was abuzz and everyone had masks that hid their faces. You push your way through the room and find your place along the wall as music signaled it was time to dance. The lights cast a soft gold glow throughout the room, creating a romanticized atmosphere.
You watched as the couple twirled around one another while still looking for your little green friend. I was probably walking around with his horns being dramatic. That thought made you chuckle to yourself. Before you had a second to think, an arm snaked its way around your waist where a hand laid against your stomach and pulled you back into a hard body, holding you there. A tingle traveled up your back and the hairs on your arms stood on end. Without your control, your cheeks warmed and turned a peach-like pink.
“Something amusing you, my darling?” His voice whispered and tickled your ear.
“You, my dear. Ever so entertaining.” You smirk to yourself as you felt him lay his face against the top of your head chuckling softly.
The closeness wasn’t foreign, it felt …. almost right, but you never let yourself think too much into it. This was all just a part of your dance together. Nothing more, or at least that’s what you told yourself or else you would spend your nights dreaming of him. But even as you two had fun beating one another, it was almost as though you two were friends, strangely enough.
You felt him straighten up to look at the crowd before speaking, “You could get dizzy looking at all those spinning skirts. All a bunch of buffoons if you ask me.”
Y/N sighed, “There you go again, you’re never fun and you don’t know how to have fun either.” You lean your head back to look up at him. You always enjoyed teasing him, it came naturally and easily.
He was in his usual extremely dark green suit but donned on his face with a gold mask that covered the top half of his face from your view. His eyes still shined through and there was no mistaking it was him.
“Oh? Is that right? Because I thought you had plenty of fun with me,” he retorted.
He was smiling down at you with his usual mischievous look that he has so proudly on his face.
“Oh, I do. Especially since I’m always kicking your ass. But lucky for you, the dance floor seems to be calling to me tonight and you’re blessed to be my partner.” You twist from his hold and pull him forward towards the middle of the room, all while smiling back over your shoulder at him.
Right as you reach the center of the dance floor, the music slows down and the lights dim slightly. Everyone and their partners come closer together to sway romantically to the melody. Before you could back out or change your mind, Loki tugs you in close to him. The tug makes you lose your balance and you fall into his chest but he’s quick enough to catch you.
“Don’t go falling for me now.” He smirked. That damn stupid smirk is making your stomach feel funny.
“Hell would have to freeze over for that to happen.” You quickly stabilize yourself on your feet again and let the music move the two of you.
With his arm wrapped around your waist, you’re pulled up flushed against him. Suddenly, it was as if the rest of the room didn’t exist. Hell, the rest of the world didn’t. At that moment, all that mattered was him. You didn’t want to be feeling like this. It will only ruin the strange relationship you had with him but you couldn’t help it. You loved him.
He reached a hand up to your face to push a hair and tuck it behind your eye. Instead of lowering his hand, he rested it against your face, cupping it. The arm around your waist tightened and he slowly turned your head to look up at him. There’s was a look on his face that you couldn’t read but his eyes were soft. A small smile appeared on his lips and he looked at you so tenderly.
“Stay with me tonight,” he whispered.
“You know that would only lead to trouble. You know, I came here with the intention to kill you tonight,” trying to bring back the playful bickering between the two of you, you let out an awkward chuckle.
He, however, did not do the same.
“Please. I don’t think I can let you go. Stay with me.” His eyes were lowered, looking at your lips. His voice was soft as his hand moved to head to turn upwards to him.
Your heart was beating out of your chest. You didn’t know what was going on but all of your feelings for him and all of your fear came rushing out. You wanted this, but this is all so new.
You suddenly push away from him, your nerves were too much. This is all too much.
“I need the lady’s room.” With that, you dashed through the crowd and ran to the bathroom.
You rushed into the dark, marble bathroom. You have your hands flat against the countertop, leaning over, you’re trying to catch your breath. You loved being in his arms, it just felt right. But at the same time, you were scared. Could you trust that he has the same feelings for you or is this one of his tricks again? Is he trying to mess with your head for his own fun? Or could he truly ……
“I’ve been waiting for you,” You jerk your head up at the feminine voice. Using the mirror in front of you, you see a woman in a black sleek dress step out from one of the stalls. She’s standing behind you now, staring at you. She’s looking at you as if she hates you. There’s disgust on her face.
“I’m sorry, do I know you?” You ask as you stand up fully.
“No. But I know you. And you have something that I want.” She’s standing behind you now.
On high alert, you reach down to get a hold of your knife but she is much faster than you. One of her arms wraps around you, trapping your arms to your side while her other hand holds a knife to your neck.
“I wanted him. But he wants you. His heart belongs to me. You don’t even want it so why can’t I have it? He’s mine.” She sneers into your ear.
“Tell Loki I said ‘hello’,” and which that, she stabs her knife into your stomach and slices it out of your body.
You let out a scream as she yanks out her knife and throws your body against the counter. Barely catching yourself, you hold your side together as blood seems through your fingers. Looking around the room, you don’t see the woman anymore. She’s gone.
Struggling with your feet, you push your way out of the bathroom and back into the party. You need to find him. He can help. He always helps. Your visit is starting to go dark. Blinking, you try to make your eyes focus but the loss of blood is starting to strain you. Your blood is not completely soaked through.
Finally making it back to the ballroom, no one seemed to have noticed you yet. Looking around the room, you see Loki standing on a platform, making him taller than anyone else in the room. He has a sad and upset look on his face and he’s standing by himself. He’s scanning the room, almost like he’s looking for something. Or someone.
Finally, he sees you and it seems as though he lefts out a sigh of relief. His face softens when he catches your eye but that is short-lived. He sees you and your red dress. He sees the pained look on your face and he is instantly jumping off the platform. He’s shoving people out of his way as he tries to reach you.
“Y/N!” You can hear his voice through the crowd though it sounds quiet. The candle-lit room looks as though not even a single candle is lit. Breathing is starting to become difficult. It hurts to stand. Sleeping sounds so wonderful right about now. You’re starting to feel tired. And cold. And sleepy.
But you fight against all of that. Because, even if this is the last time, you want to see him. Just one more time. You want to be able to finally tell him how you feel. Just this once.
The weight of you is too heavy now. Your knees give out and fall to the floor. You barely catch yourself with your hands. Looking up, you finally see Loki made his way to you. Pure panic is on his face as he’s running to you and all you wanted to do was to comfort him.
Finally seeing his face was all you needed. Smiling up at him one more time, you whisper, “I love you.”
You weren’t sure if he heard you but that was all the energy you had left. You close your eyes as everything goes black and your body hits the floor.
Dance With Me
Prompt: You’re an intern to the BAU where you stay late to help Hotch on some paperwork and feelings start to develop.
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Reader
A/N: Hey y’all! I’ve been binge watching Criminal Minds like my life depends on it! My favorite is Hotch right now because .... daddy. Lol, if you want to see other pairings or any requests, just let me know, but in the meantime, I hope you like this! I wrote it was 1am in one sitting ..... good luck. I know I didn’t write a lot of dialogue but if y’all wanna see more of that, let me knooooow
Tumblr media
It was already hours past midnight, most of everyone had already gone home for the day. You were Penelope’s intern for the time being. You’ve been on the team for a few months now, working alongside Penelope in hopes of one day joining the team permanently. After working with the team for a few weeks, you started to notice that Aaron Hotchner tends to spend some late nights in his office working on cases or paperwork. And those were the days he got out early, there were times when you came into the office early and saw he had spent the night in his office.
After you realized that he spent nights cooped up in his office while the rest of the team was able to go home and rest, you started staying late with him as well. First, you would occasionally poke your head through his door and ask if he needed any help. Grabbing him some fresh coffee or maybe some snacks if he started to get hungry and then go back to your desk out in the pen. Then he started asking you to help him on some paperwork and even look over some cases with a pair of fresh eyes. It somehow morphed into nights where you stayed in his office with him just to keep him company so he wasn’t working alone.
Those nights, he made sure there was a babysitter at home with Jack. Though your late nights together weren’t as frequent, they were often enough for you to keep your schedule open. At first, it was just to win some brownie points but then you started to really enjoy his company. More times that you were willing to admit, Hotch would catch you glancing at him. At times …. even staring at him, though you would never say you were. You thought you were being subtle! But there was no hiding it once your cheeks started to get warm. He was nice enough to never call you out on it but you always caught him smiling down at his paperwork after.
Lately, you two have been spending more time talking and laughing with each other than getting any work done. There was always some sort of take out for a late dinner and seeing him smile gave you butterflies in your stomach. During the day, it was rare to even see him smirk. Seeing this new side of him was like a complete switch and now you live to see him smile at you.
Maybe it was the exhaustion and deliriousness talking, but you could have sworn that there was some tension happening between you two. You were too shy to ask or do anything about it. Maybe you were going insane because he’s your boss! He’s professional. He’s just being nice, that’s what it has to be! You’ll just have to keep telling yourself that before you do something stupid and get fired.
Penelope had left for the night and you were just tidying your things from her cave of technology before you went to check on Hotch. You were hoping for another late night with him because you were starting to look forward to spending time with him but you didn’t let yourself get your hopes up on it. There was music playing softly through the speakers in the room as you out papers away into your briefcase. It was a mellow romantic song that made you want to dance. You started to sway around the room, twirling and gliding across the room while you grabbed more of your things. You were wearing a soft light blue dress that fell right above your knees. It flared out at your hips so when you twirled, it spun around your body making you want to dance more. You were so lost in your movements and packing up that you didn’t notice Hotch walk into the room.
You turned around to grab the remote that was on a table by the door and let out a little scream when you saw Hotch standing there with a smirk on his face. His smirk turned into a smile as he was leaning against the wall watching you. You quickly straightened and you could feel your face get hot, “What are you doing here?! You can’t just sneak up on me, you nearly gave me a heart attack!”
“Well, I believe I work here?” His smile only grew wider when he saw irritation on your face.
“I bring a peace offering, how about that. Do forgive me, I’ll make sure to stomp in the future so you can hear me coming.” He lifts up a white bag with take out boxes inside.
“That depends …. What’s in the bag?”
“Chinese. From that place you like down the street. That is if you don’t already have plans.”
“You know my ass will be sitting right there in your office shooting spitballs at you. I’m getting better at my aim I think.”
“Unfortunately so.” He chuckled at you as he pushed up from the wall. “Aren’t you on the clock? You know dancing does not make us look very professional to the murders we hunt.” He teased you.
Your cheeks grew a little warm at the reminder of what he saw. Though you were always a tough nut to crack and never backed down from a challenge, which worked against your shy nature but you couldn’t help it. Straightening your back, you lifted your chin and narrowed your eyes at Hotch.
“Oh really mister poopy pants. You don’t know how to have a little fun. You’re just jealous anyways cause you know you would lose to a dance battle with me. Just you watch, any unsub would fall to their knees when they see me dance!” You gave him a look and started to sway again with a smirk on your face. If you died, it would be from embarrassment but there was no stopping now. You closed your eyes and started to get into it more.
Letting out a little chuckle, you turned around to grab your bag and head out with Hotch but you barely took a few steps towards your things before you felt an arm go around your waist and spin you around. You let out a small gasp as he fell into his chest. Your eyes widened like saucers and they shot up to look at him. He was looking down at you with a look you haven’t really seen from him before. His eyes were hooded, any trace of humor left his face but he was staring at you so intently. You couldn’t look at him for long because you felt like your heart was going to beat out of its chest and your brain went completely blank. You looked down at his chest and you felt him lean down until his lips rested right at the top of your head.
You both stood still like that for a while. Your hands were resting on his chest while his arms were wrapped around you in a tight embrace. One of his hands slowly slid up to grab onto one of yours that was resting on him. Your eyes were glued onto the sight before you, how perfect your hand looked in his. You couldn’t count the amount of times you dreamed of something like this. Lately, all that occupied your dreams was him.
“Dance with me.” He whispered into your ear. Slowly leaning your head to rest on his chest, you two held each other in a soft embrace as he slowly started to sway you side to side. Your eyes slid closed and you just breathed him in. Soft music continued to play around you, it felt like something of a movie. It had to be another dream, it had to, so you were just going to enjoy every second of this before your alarm clock woke you up.
He felt warm. It felt like home being in his arms. Everything just felt …. right. You could have been out in the middle of a jungle but you knew, if you were in his arms, you had nothing to worry about. You didn’t want to leave this dream. You were almost too afraid to open your eyes. You didn’t want this moment to end, not yet.
His hand lifted from yours and you blinked over your eyes hazily. You felt his fingers right under your chin, urging you to look up at him. You did as he wanted and looked up at his hard expression.
“What’s wrong?” You whispered. Your eyes grew wide as reality set in and you gasped. You quickly tried to take a step back and out of his arms, “Oh! I’m so sorry, please don’t think I’m just trying to sleep my way-”
Your words were cut off as he quickly pulled you back into him, “Tell me to stop. Tell me you don’t want this. You don’t want me. I don’t want you to feel pressured into anything because I’m your leader-”
Thinking to yourself that it was do or die, you leaned up on your toes and pressed your lips into his and cutting him off before he could back out and away from you. Your hands reached up to cup his face as you pulled him down deeper into you. His arms tightened around you and pulled you flush against his body. You felt the world tip over, your head was spinning but you couldn’t find it in yourself to let him go.
Finally you both pulled away to get some air. He rested his forehead on yours as you both shared a look. He smiled down at you in a boyish smile that made your insides melt. Feeling your face go hot again, you shoved your face into his neck and wrapped your arms around him. He let out a deep, genuine laugh as he hugged you tight and kissed you head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unknowingly to you, Penelope had security cameras installed in her room, ever since she got hacked not too long ago, she wasn’t taking any chances. When Hotch had first entered the room earlier, an alert had gone off on her phone. Penelope was having dinner with the rest of the team, they had already suspected something going on between you two and knew that it was probably best to let you two have your night alone.
When Penelope opened up the cameras to see on her phone, her eyes widened. “GUYS! It’s happening! Come look!” She yelled out to the rest of the team. Everyone quickly ran over to her to see what was going on. Everyone huddled close with some shocked and some knowing smiles on their faces as they saw you two kiss.
Penelope’s mouth was hanging open as she turned off her phone once you two left the room to go back to Hotch’s office.
“Well I would say it was about time.” Morgan said with a cheeky smile.
“I knew it was going to happen just … I can’t believe that.” Penelope said, still surprised.
“Atta boy.” Rossi said smiling back at Morgan.
“I would say, they keep staring at each other like kids at school. How long has it been huh?” Emily said.
“Approximately 6 days after Y/N started so I would say 3 months, 19 days-”
“Too long. I was sure I would grow old before either one of them did anything.” JJ cut Reid off but still gave him a smile.
“Never a dull moment with the BAU.” Rossi said as the team gathered together and went home for the evening.

Prompt: Persephone and Hades meet and fall in love before they are demanded to separate.

A/N: Hey guys! I know it’s been ages since I’ve written on here but I suddenly had the urge to get back to it. No one requested this but I simply love Hades and Persephone so I just started writing. It might be a little long but I really liked what I was doing with it so hopefully you like it too and have a read.

Persephone opened her eyes and found herself very confused. She looked around her and found herself laying on a velvet couch in a dark cave. She couldn’t remember how she got there, the last thing she remembered was running around in a field of flowers she was tending. She could hear her friends giggling through the trees. Persephone had seen a shadow moving through the bushes and she tried to follow. Persephone grimaced and let out a sigh, this was why mother never let her go out, especially on her own. She always got lost. Everyone is probably worried sick.
Blinking her eyes to adjust to the dark lighting, she took a look around the room. Next to her, near the head of her couch, there sat a gold throne with black cushions. Slowly, Persephone pushed herself to sit upright on the couch and she froze in her seat when she saw a large, tall dark figure standing over a table, facing away from her, at the end of the room. She could vaguely see different dishes of food on the table and the man was picking a little of everything to put on his own dish. Persephone watched him move with a given grace to his movements and she found that she wasn’t scared. She felt oddly … content and at peace exactly where she was.
Persephone held her breath as the man slowly turned to face her. He lifted his head and gave a slight look of surprise when he saw her. In his hands was a plate of food and glass of water. He didn’t take a step towards her, simply just standing there staring at her as she stared back at him. “Hi,” she whispered but it seemed to echo off the walls.
“Hello.” They both continued to stare at each other, neither too captivated to do anything else. As Persephone looked at the man, she couldn’t help to notice that he was quite handsome. He might not have been traditionally handsome but he took her breath away and her brain turned to mush. He wore a black fittest suit and he filled out every part of it, he stood far from her but he seemed impossibly tall and his eyes were the lightest shade of blue she has ever seen. She felt a familiar pull to him and she couldn’t look away.
The man slightly swallowed and slowed made his way over to her. “I’m glad to see you’re awake. You had me scared there for a second. Here, I got this for you.” He knelt down next to her and nervously handed her the food and drink. She reached out and their fingers grazed each other as she took the plate and she let out a small gasp. Even when he was kneeling, he was as tall as her when she was sitting on the couch. Looking up, she felt a pull towards him like the small space in between them was too much. She wanted to be near him. She needed it.
“Thank you. May I ask how did I get here?”
He helped her sit up all the way, he reached around the couch and put a pillow behind her back to let her sit comfortably. “Eat, you need it.”
“If I eat, will you sit and talk with me?”
“Of course. If you’ll let me.”
“Please. I’d want nothing more.”
“Then I will be right here. I was walking through the woods early, I had business up with the living. I heard small footsteps behind me but I had just assumed it was just a bunny or something. I had gotten onto my chariot to come home and it wasn’t until I got here that I found you hiding in the back. Asleep. Was the ride too long and boring for you?”
Grimacing, Persephone looked down at her food. How embarrassing? What was she thinking. Being curious and sneaking to someone’s home are two very different things.
“Sorry. I don’t even know how I could explain that without sounding extremely creepy.”
“It’s alright. You gave me quite the scare. I thought you were dead.” They shared a laugh together and she looked at him again, she couldn’t look away from his eyes for very long. It was like she needed to see them to breathe.
They were speaking softly again and Persephone swore he could hear her heart beating so damn loud. “You’re Hades.”
“That I am.”
“I’ve heard a lot about you.”
He continued to stare at her and his express gave nothing away. “All horrible things I’m sure.”
Persephone didn’t answer. Because it’s true. For as long as she could remember, he was someone she was always told to stay clear from. That he would be no good for her. When she didn’t answer, he knew but he still gave her a small smile. Persephone knew that he didn’t smile much and seeing even just a small one felt like the sun was shining on her.
“I’m told you're no good. You’ll just hurt me when you can. You’re always with the dead so you always think of the dead. That would always want people dead.”
“Is that all? I would’ve thought the gods would’ve come up with better scares than that.”
“Also I should stay away from you because you deal with the dead.”
“Oh? And you’ll be dead if you deal with me?”
“I don’t believe so.”
“You shouldn’t be so trusting. You’re in the Underworld at the moment. You’re in my kingdom and you don’t even know me.” Hade has got a little smirk on his face, probably trying to scare her. But she didn’t feel scared. Somehow as they were talking, neither of them seemed to notice that they were both leaning in closer. Maybe she wasn’t the only one feeling this pull between them.
“I know you won’t hurt me.” Her voice was husky and his smirk slowly dropped. He started looking down at her lips then back at her eyes.
“How can you be so sure?” and now it was his turn to speak softly.
They were close enough to feel each other’s breath. Less than an inch more and they would be kissing. The tension was so strong and neither of them had the power or the will to turn away. Hades couldn’t describe what was happening to him. He didn’t know her, he never did anything reckless but at that very moment, he would do anything just to kiss her for even a little.
Unfortunately, Cerberus decided that that was the best moment to wake up and demand to be played with. Cerberus jumped up suddenly and let out wall shaking barks, scaring the couple apart. Hades jumped to his feet and Persephone sat straight up like a stick on the couch. Unsure of how his pet was going to react to a new person in their home, Hades jumped up to block Persephone from view. Damn it. He should have moved Cerberus out of the room but it was impossible to move that monster.
Hades was ready to wrestle Cerberus if he made a move for her. He didn’t know why, but he felt oddly protective of her. No one or thing was ever going to hurt her again. Though Cerberus had the keenest sense of smell and he had four little noses to help him too. The dog knew she was there and made a run for her. Even if Hades tried, he was an ant compared to the animal but he tried to push him off anyway.
Though much to everyone’s surprise, when Cerberus ran up to Persephone, he didn’t attack. He simply jumped around her, wagged his tail and gently laid all his giant heads on the couch, looking at her. Hades stood there, staring at his dog in disbelief as his monster of a pet was gently waiting for Persephone. She slowly and cautiously put down her plate and cup on the floor and even more slowly, reaching out to pet the dog. Her hand barely covered one of its noses but she could see his tail was wagging and she smiled brightly at him.
“Hello there. How are you. Oh aren’t you such a good boy, yes you are helloooo” she cooed at him.
“I have to admit, I’m shocked. He doesn’t take well to strangers. I should’ve put you in another room, I’m sorry. I’m thankful he wasn’t aggressive with you. I wasn’t sure what I would’ve done if he had attacked you. I apologize, I should’ve have put more thought into your safety.”
She looked up at him as he came over and started petting Cerberus too.
“See? You won’t hurt me.” Hades stared down at her and he didn’t know what to say. He had barely known the girl and she had left him speechless more than he could count.
Hades cleared his throat, stood a little taller before he spoke again, “Finish your food. I’ll call someone to bring you home.”
“No!”
His eyes widened slightly but she caught it. Nothing else of his face told her what he was thinking ande didn’t speak again, waiting for her. She took the time to compose herself before she spoke and made a fool of herself.
“I mean. There is no hurry. I’m … quite tired, too tired to make a trip. If it would be no trouble, if I could just … spend the night. Just a while more, to gain my strength.” She couldn’t bear the thought of leaving when she had just found him. He intrigued her and something told her to stay. She felt more at home wherever she was with him than she has ever felt with her friends.
“It will be no bother. I will have a room ready for you and you can reside there until you are energized for the travel back.” He called for Cerberus to follow him as he left the room. Persephone let out a breath of relief and smiled to herself. Staying made her happy and she couldn’t quite explain why.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Persephone let out a laugh at something Hades had told her and he smiled at her fondly. Cerberus was resting beside her feet as they all sat around the dinner table. The fireplace was lit across the room and candles were flickering around the table. It has been weeks since she first arrived and every night she asked to stay some more.
The first few days, she followed Hades as he dealt with business and they would spend evenings lounging together. After the third day, Hades showed her to a garden she could tend to, the plants looked dull and dark but with her care, they thrived and she took pride in them. After a week, she started to have her own schedule and agenda around the Underworld as Hades had his own duties to attend to. She met more people around and they started coming to her to ask questions and asking for her opinions.
Every night, she and Hades would come together to have dinner. After, they would simply enjoy each other’s company. No matter where she went, Cerberus was there nipping at her heels.
She was happy. She had a place here. With him. They haven’t kissed. He was always a gentleman and never crossed that line though she has dreamt of it plenty. She feared that she would never grow courageous enough to make a move on him but he never made her feel uncomfortable or pushed her which she appreciated. Ever since she had arrived, each day, she saw him smile at her more and more. He’s even making jokes now, who would’ve thought.
“And I told him, if he wanted that, he would have to go ask Hera instead of complaining to me.” He said dramatically as he told his story.
Persephone gasped loudly and laughed at him, “You did not! You could not be so cruel as to push him into Hera’s path. You know she would rip him into pieces if she heard what he was saying.”
“Exactly why I told him to talk to her!”
They laughed together and enjoyed dinner when suddenly they heard loud running footsteps towards them. Looking up from their plates, they saw one of Hades’s closest helper run into the room out of breath. “Sir!” he said quite urgently.
Hades’s face immediately changed to seriousness. Persephone hated seeing him so … blank. He never showed emotions when dealing with his godly duties but he always looked at her so warmly. Feeling the change in the room, she sat up taller in her seat and listened intently. She felt like it was her place to stand by him and she needed to be strong by his side as he is.
“What can I help you with?” Hades asked calmly.
“Sir. I’m sorry. There’s been a rumor circulating around that you have captured Miss Persephone. I know that is not true and everyone in Hades is spreading the word that that is a lie! But the other gods don’t believe it. I’ve gained news that Miss Persephone’s mother is causing an uproar above and Zeus is now on his way to demand you give her back. I tried to stop him sir but he is on a mission. He too believes you kidnapped her.” The helper’s face looked truly upset.
Persephone couldn’t believe what she just heard. Hades kidnapping me? They always think the worst of him of course they would make a wild rumor like this. How could she be so naive, she should’ve sent word to her mother but she had been so happy, it didn’t even cross her mind thus far.
Looking over at Hades with scared eyes, she wanted to cry and ask him to fix things.
After what felt like an eternity, Hades dismissed the helper and sat quietly, thinking. After she could no longer sit there, Persephone asked, “What are we to do?”
Hades looked up at her and she could see the sadness in his eyes.
“There is not much we can do. I believe that nearly every god out there believes that I kidnapped you and ruined you. For that, I’m sorry. My image is hurting you.”
“Stop that. You didn’t do anything. I was the one who ran to you. I wanted to stay. You never hurt you, I can’t see how they could not see how amazing you are.”
“I’m sorry my dear but we both knew our time was limited. We escaped reality for a moment but now it is time to return.”
Tears were building in her eyes and seeing them pulled at Hades’s heart strings.
“Please. I don’t want to leave. I fear that when I leave, I will never be allowed to see you again. And … I can’t have that. It hurts to be away from you. I can’t leave you.” Persephone whispered her last words and tears rolled down her face.
Hades reached over and covered her hand on the table. After a moment, he pulled her hand to urge her to stand and pull her into his lap. He held her close as she turned her face into his neck and she cried. They simply held each other in silence, her heart broke with every second knowing she would have to leave soon.
He finally pulled away from her and lifted her chin so she would look at him.
“I love your eyes.” She whispered, her face still damp from her tears.
“And I love how you smile.” She continued.
“I only smile at you, my dear.”
She didn’t stop to listen to him, her words seemed to be pulled out of her.
“I love how kind you are. And I love the way you hold my face. And I love holding your hand. And I love how you are always there for me when I need you. And I love how if you laugh a little too much you snort a little.” She giggled at that one.
She reached up to wipe his face as some tears escaped.
“And …. I love you. Just you. All of you. And no one can tell me I can’t.”
Before she could move, he cupped her face and slammed his lips down onto hers. She let out a breath and wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back urgently like she needed his kiss to be alive. She felt alive. And she felt love.
Hades finally pulled away from her and she let out a little whine trying to pull him back. He chuckled at her and said, “One second, baby. I think I have an idea.”
“To let me stay?”
“Sort of.”
Hades reached on the table and cracked open a pomegranate. Seeds fell out and rolled onto the table in front of her. Turning to face the table, she raised her brow in question. Hades picked twelve seeds and laid them out in a row for her. “Eat as many seeds as you want.”
“How is this going to help us?”
“Just trust me.” He kissed her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
“Okay, you weirdo.” She smiled at him before examining the seeds. She shrugged and scooped up six seeds and threw them into her mouth.
“There. I ate six. Now what? Is there a spell or something?”
“Or something. See each seed represents a month. You just ate six.”
“Ooookay? I’m still not getting it.”
“Well you ate six, so that’s six months, right? So from now on, for six months out of the year, you’ll have to be here with me. And for the rest of the year,” he waved his finger over the remaining seeds, “you’ll be able to be above with your friends and family.”
She let out a gasp, “You’re a genius! That way I’ll have time for here and up there.”
“Precisely.” He said proudly as she turned on his lap to face him.
“Do you think this will work?” She sounded nervous.
“I’m not sure but I hope so. I’ll negotiate with my brother. I’ll make it happen.”
“Promise me. Whatever happens, we do this together. If you’re going to talk to Zeus, I want to be there too. I don’t want him trying to say you kidnapped me!”
“Alright. Alright. Calm down, tiger. We do it together. And Persephone?”
“Yes?”
“I love you too.”
They smiled and shared a kiss as they heard Zeus coming to get them.
It was dinner time at the Salvatore School and all the students were crammed inside the dining hall. Josie absent minded pushed her food around her tray as Liz continued to ramble on about the latest gossip. If it were any other day, she would be trying harder to appear like she was paying attention but tonight, she had other things on her mind. A chill went up her spine as she bit her lip to hide a smile. Subtly sitting up a little taller, she scanned the room and her cheeks turned a slight pink when her gaze met Penelope Park’s.
Miss Penelope Park was the newest witch to join the Salvatore School and she caught Josie’s eye immediately. And apparently, she caught Penelope’s if all the slight touches and secret whispers meant anything. It was something about Penelope, something about her green eyes and cocky smirk that made Josie’s inside twist up in knots, and she wasn’t quite sure she wanted it to go away. Penelope gave Josie a little wink from across the room and let out a little chuckle when Josie got so flustered and dropped her fork loudly against her plate.
“Jo! Are you even listening to me?” Liz whined. Noticing that Liz was most likely scolding Josie, Penelope’s face fell and she looked ready to make her way over to them. Giving her a slight shake of her head, Josie fully turned to Liz to give her her attention again.
“Yeah, of course. You were talking about Hope.”
“Yeah! Can you believe that dad is taking her on a trip again?! He won’t even tell me why they’re going. Why can’t he take us out every once in a while?!”
“Well, last time he took us out towards the woods, you started complaining within ten minutes.”
Sneaking a glance at where Penelope was, Josie realized that she wasn’t there anymore. Sitting up to search the room, she couldn’t find her anywhere in the room. Slumping down in her seat, Josie started pouting and jabbing her food. She didn’t like how upset she was that Penelope wasn’t in the room. Ever since their little dance started, Josie noticed that she lived for the next small moment she could steal with Penelope.
First, it was accidentally bumping into each other then it was not so accidentally sneaking some small kisses outside of their rooms after dark. Josie was always a goodie two shoes. Always listened to orders and never broke any rules but since Penelope has come around…. well, she could turn red if she had to tell everything she has down.
“Well doesn’t matter anyway what we say, dad will always pick Hope to go with him. It’s fine, I have prom to worry about anyway.” Liz stood up with a humph as she took her tray towards the trash. It was getting close to curfew when everyone had to settle back into their respective rooms for the night. Everyone around them started getting up and suddenly the dining room was a maze to get out of. Josie had to squeeze through people and carefully walk around play fighting boys. Somewhere along the way, Josie lost Liz in the crowd. Figuring she would just meet up with her back in their room, she gave a little shrug to herself and heading out.
Since dinner was still technically going on, the hallways towards the rooms were practically empty. A few students scurried by as they headed to their rooms. Keeping to herself as she walked, she let out a yelp as she felt a hand wrap around her wrist and yank her into a room to her right. It was a dark room so she couldn’t see who was in there with her but she could definitely sense them. She was struggling against the hand still holding her wrist when she felt the person’s other hand come up and clamp down on her lips. Her yelps of alarm were muffled behind the hand and a warm chill went up her spine as she felt a warm breath caress her ear.
“Hey now, it’s just me.” Penelope’s velvet voice said quietly. Penelope’s hand released Josie’s wrist and it slid around her waist to pull her closer but she didn’t move her hand from Josie’s lips.
“Now, if I let my hand go will you play nice and stay quiet?”
Letting out a shaky breath, Josie nodded and felt her other hand fall away from her mouth and also go around her waist.
It was still dark and Josie couldn’t even see the tip of her nose.
Whispering to match Penelope’s tone, she asked, “Where are we?”
Without moving, Penelope answered, “Janitor’s closet. Janitor went on his break about five minutes ago. Figured we could put this room to good use.”
Josie’s hands fell and rested again Penelope’s collarbone, “What are we doing here?”
“Just wanted to check if you thought about my little invitation.”
“Penelope! You know we have a curfew, we can’t leave our rooms let alone leave school!” Josie whispered, worried that someone might overhear and find them.
“I know, but what’s a little fun? We wouldn’t be leaving the school grounds so we’ll be safe.” “I don’t think so, if we get caught we could get in a lot of trouble.”
Penelope’s arms wrapped tighter around Josie and she inhaled a shaky breath when you felt Penelope lean in closer and felt her lips come in an inch away from touching.
“Come now Jo Jo, be a little rebel with me.”
With Penelope being this close, Josie couldn’t think straight. She could barely register what Penelope was saying, she just wanted to kiss her. Josie’s eyes were starting to slide shut.
“Ummm, I not sure …uhhh ... I just don’t think....,”
She moves in a little closer, “Someone a little scaredy cat?”
“N-no I’m not…”
“Hmmm didn’t think so. Come with me. I promise it’ll be fun. I’ll keep you safe if anything happens just … come with me.” She was still whispering.
“Okay.” At that moment, Josie would have agreed with anything Penelope asked of her.
Their lips barely grazed before Penelope pulled back and simply held Josie while she got her bearings. Josie was shocked and slightly unstable at the sudden change and nearly toppled over. In the dark, Josie could hear Penelope’s soft chuckle as she keeps her from falling. Opening the door slightly, Penelope checked if the coast was clear before pulling both of them out from the dark room. Josie had to blink her eyes to readjust to the light and Penelope leaned up and gave her a quick peck on the cheek.
“11 o’clock. I’ll be waiting out outside your window whenever you’re ready.” Without waiting for an answer, Penelope turned and walked down the hall leaving Josie very red and flustered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Josie was laying uncomfortably still in the dark as she listened carefully for Liz’s breathing. It was getting close to 11 and she didn’t want to Penelope waiting outside. She had an unnerving feeling in her stomach at the thought of sneaking out but also a rush of excitement. Waiting until she heard Liz snore softly, she looked over her shoulder and saw Liz sprawled out on her bed across the room.
Carefully, Josie started to sit up and pull the covers off her as quietly as she cold. I grabbed her jacket that she laid out on her chair by the bed and tiptoed her way towards the window. Looking outside, Josie saw that Penelope was already waiting there. Josie slowly unlatched the lock on the window and started to pop it open. The wooden frame groaned under the moment causing Liz to stir and rustle in her sleep.
Freezing, Josie looked over her shoulder and prayed that Liz would stay asleep. She let out a shaky sigh of relief when the girl started snoring even louder this time. Turning back towards the window, through the pane, her gaze met Penelope’s who was now standing there looking up at her with her arms crossed, an eyebrow arched, her smirk in place and laughter twinkled in her eyes. Cautiously cracking open the window, Josie slid it open wide enough for her to wiggle through.
Unfortunately, her room was on the second floor and she knew she would have to jump out of her window. It wasn’t that far or a way’s down but it was enough for her to hesitate. She got half of her body out of the window and sat straddling the window frame as she contemplated her next move.
“You coming or what?” Penelope said in a hush, playful tone.
“I’m going! Just give me a second!” Taking in a deep breath, Josie looked at Liz one last time to ensure she was still sleeping before she swung her other leg out and jumped.
She miscalculated her jump and ended up landing right on Penelope and knocked them both down on the ground. Penelope let out a groan as she took the blunt of the hit on her back and Josie flopped down right on top of her. Quickly coming up on her arms, Josie looked down her Penelope with wide eyes of concern.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry! Are you alright?!”
“If you wanted to get on top of me, you could have just asked. I wouldn’t picked a less violent scenario but I gotta say, I love the outcome.”
Josie rolled her eyes as she gave Penelope a quick kiss on the nose causing Penelope to laugh at her as they both moved to get up.
“Come on, follow me. I found like place out in the woods that’s really cool.” Penelope grabbed Josie’s had, looked around quickly and pulled her towards the forest.
Josie kept up a slight jog to keep up and wrapped down her arms around Penelope’s. Her heart was beating so loud with adrenaline and she was having the time of her life. “You’re not going to try and kill me now would you?” she teased.
“Why would I do that? What benefit would I get from killing the most beautiful girl in school. You would be so much better hanging onto my arm everywhere we went.” Josie was thankful it was dark out and it was hard to see because she was sure her face was red as a tomato.
After a few minutes of follow Penelope blindly, they suddenly come out into an opening where a huge lake was peacefully still. What caught Josie’s eye was the small blanket laid out with a picnic basket and two candles lit set up near the water bank. Pulling her along, they reached the blanket and carefully sat down careful not to knock anything over.
“What’s all this?” Josie asked in a quiet voice.
“I thought a little midnight snack would be nice.” Penelope gave her a smile when she saw the awe on Josie’s face. She opened the picnic basket and started the pull out various small finger sandwiches, a bowl of cut up fruits and even a box of chocolates. They both sat with their legs stretched out in front of them and Penelope set the food in between them.
Pour two glasses of champagne that somehow fit inside that basket, Penelope handed a glass to Josie and made a toast, “To our first date and hopefully, to many more.”
She was taking a sip and watching Josie over the rim of her glass when Josie teasingly asked, “Oh so this is a date?”
“Well I would hope so or else this would be a little awkward.”
“It’s really nice, truly. I didn’t think you were going to do something this … fancy.” She shyly looked down at her glass and let her hair fall and be a veil covering her face.
Penelope reaches up and push her hair out of the way and behind Josie’s ear. She slid her hand down and softly wrapped it around the side of Josie’s neck, nudging Josie to look up at her. She smirked when she saw her blush spread and turn her little nose pink. She had leaned in close to Josie so when Josie looked up, their noses were barely grazing against each other.
“I had to. I don’t just do this for everyone you know?”
“Really?” They were both whispered almost afraid that if they spoke too loudly, it would wake them from this dream like moment.
“I like you. Like … like you like you, Josie. I don’t do things like this for just anyone.” They let out a little chuckle at her childlike words but Josie couldn’t keep her hopefulness and ecstatic emotions from show on her face.
“I like you too. And I never sneak out or anything like that for anyone before.”
A smile pulled on Penelope’s lips, “Good. Am I corrupting the prissy good girl?”
“You’re a bad influence.” Josie teased back as she leaned forward, her eyes slowly closing.
“Hmmm, maybe I should go then.”
“If you do, I’ll kill you.”
“Go out with me.”
Slightly shocked at Penelope’s desperate tone, Josie leaned back an inch and looked at her with hooded eyes. “What?”
“Go out with me. Officially. Be my girlfriend. I want to be able to take you out and show you off in front of everyone. I’m not playing games anymore.”
A smile spread across Josie’s face, “If you think you can handle me.”
“Oh honey, I’ll do anything to get you.”
Josie felt her heart sing and she truly felt happy and free. “Okay, let’s be official.” She gave Penelope a sweet smile before she cupped her face with both hands and pulled her closer until their lips finally met.
