I love him, Your Honor

One of the very few headcanons I have is that Krel has lil pet frogs to keep him company while he works on new inventions in his workshop. He's quite fond of how they look and is intrigued by all the different kind of croaking noises frogs can make.

The lil frog guy needs a name tho. I didn't get that far into the headcanon lol

My precious child, Berenice Carter- or Bernie for short.

Bernie is a Polymorph Changeling Troll raised in Trollmarket by Vendel and had her Changeling magic enhanced by the Heartsone. Vendel did this as he believed she was the chosen one who would fulfil the prophecy in becoming a champion who has a foot in all worlds (made up lore on my end cause I wanted to give Bernie more purpose to the story).

Her Changeling powers have evolved and gives her the ability to shift into any species so long as she has some relation to them. The stronger the relationship is, the more flexible her shifting becomes so she can alter her shifted appearance to her liking (this is also made up lore. Just clarifying in case anyone thinks it's canon).

For example, Bernie can't shift into a cat unless she has both met and bonded with the cat. If they bond to the extent that both trust each other and get along, Bernie is able to not only take the form of the cat but also change the fur and eye colors to her liking. If the bond is very surface level, Bernie will look identical to the cat and can't change her features.

Did that make sense? Probably not :/

Bernie is roughly around 400 years old (exact age is unknown as she doesn't have any memory of her childhood before being taken to the darklands) and is currently reaching the end of her Troll adolescence (more made up lore cause I couldn't find anything on how trolls age). Her human form appears to also be reaching the end of her human adolescence and she attends Arcadia Oaks High.

She's best friends with Jim and Toby and up until Bular's death, she's kept her Changeling secret from them and Trollmarket (only Vendel and Kanjigar knew of her powers). Throughout the series she befriends most of the friendly cast, notably she becomes best friends with Krel and Douxie as they all bond over their love of music.

She absolutely loves music and her ultimate dream job would be either to become a famous musical artist or open her own music shop. She busks at her local park every Fridays or whenever she feels like it, as well as earning a bit more side money through offering her musical skills to teach others how to play certain instruments. All the money she makes is partially added to her growing savings account (money she plans on using to achieve her future career goals) and spent on instrument parts as she likes to refurbish old instruments.

I'll stop ranting about her for now cause this is already long enough. Might post more about her later, depends if anyone's interested.
