Heads up: This post is related to the Shubble and cc!Will topic. Basically, this post outlines how the rest of my content will go here on out.

Just some updates about how my future Dsmp Rewritten/Healing AU-related content will go!

Upon hearing the news, I felt that it would be more appropriate to start giving the AU its own identity. I’ve been wanting to give it its own name to somewhat set it apart from canon DSMP? Just so people know that I’ll be focusing more on developing that storyline and characters to make it stand out from the canon. (It’s still related to DSMP of course, and would still have the characters from that fandom. I just think it would be nice to give it its own identity.)

In terms of drawing c!Will, she has and will always stay completely separated from the actual content creator, as it had always been with the other characters! I love her dearly and I’m not quite sure if I’m ready to let go of my interest for the characters + AU just yet. I’ll still continue to draw the characters (SMP characters and Bursonas), just not anything for the actual real life guy.

I considered giving c!Will another alternative name, Willow, which I thought sounded nice. :] I wouldn’t consider the characters my OCs yet? I feel like the AU needs time to kind of build itself and grow to really stand out as “original”.

At this point in time, the news has pushed me to try and span out to different interests. Not just developing the AU into its own thing to stand out of DSMP, but most likely delving into other interests and making fanart for a wider variety of fandoms. It’s very difficult to let go of my old interests though; this is an interest that I’ve held dearly to my heart for years, and I doubt I’ll fully quit making things for it in the future. I just feel like this might mark a different direction for my art going forward. For sure I won’t stop drawing fanart for it, but things are surely just going to feel different. I won’t be using any cc!Will tags, only tags related to his character.

The situation at this point in time is super stressful for a whole lot of me and my friends. If anyone needs context, I’m not sure if I can give the best insight on what happened or explain it properly. I highly suggest reading about it from other folks instead.

for awhile I was telling myself the only way to get reblogs and likes (b/c happiness boost) on my stuff is to make fanart. It was stupid of me to think that because at first I really liked making fanart a lot but just recently I haven’t been enjoying it. And a really long time ago I saw a post that went like “Don’t force yourself to make fanart. If you create personal art, make your audience like your personal art.” And I guess I just experienced that???

In the past couple months, a handful of you guys have gotten invested in Ranne and honestly that makes me very excited. I make art for myself and the fact that people like what’s going on in my brain is nice. I’m still on my art journey to get better and I’m glad you guys are tagging along.

That being said, I do want Ranne’s story to go somewhere. I’m sure you’ve all seen it, the image with the diver being eaten by the shark and that shark eaten by a bigger shark with the captions about lore? That’s me. I would love to get better at animating and learn how to draw comic/manga panels so I can draw my OCs fleshed out. I do dream of Ranne’s story turning into a graphic novel or web series.

Ranne reference sheet will happen as well as fleshing out Lorelei and altering Cymbeline a little bit. I do have other character designs lurking in my mind too.

To wrap it up, you’re not gonna be seeing a lot of sleep token art soon. Vessel Vs. Tangerine is on hold (if anyone wants to pick it up and take it, it’s all yours) as well as soulsborne Sleep Token. You might see some dark souls, Elden ring, and bloodborne prints soon. Ranne art is going full throttle. I plan on doing some character concept and drawing more dynamic / out of my comfort zone poses.

It’s weird how fans of the character feel that canon Sansa quotes from the books is anti Sansa.  Meanwhile Arya and Jon stans have to deal with murder baby Arya and incompetent Jon or unrelated quotes randomly put together to rewrite relationships. Maybe that's why the Arya and Jon tags are so full of headcanon Sansa that most of the time feels like an unrecognizable OC.

And then in the comments there is someone who has ‘not read the books in years’ telling me that I lack reading comprehension  😂

And this is while there is so much racist Arya fanart from Sansa stans on the Arya Stark tag despite repeated requests from poc to stop doing this.

It's honestly so depressing to go on the Arya Stark tag and see fanart on the tag or sidebars - because racist art is so popular in fandom!! - where canonically white Arya is differentiated from her more classically beautiful sister by simply drawing her in darker skin tones. At this point it's clear that artists are aware of the racist implications of doing this and still continue to do this because they don't care.

And yet using a Sansa book quote is supposedly 'anti Sansa' and needs to be tagged as such. I guess the tags should only be used for headcanons of racist caricatures of ‘ugly’ Arya and beautiful blue eyed, whitey white Sansa being the best sisters ever and nothing else.

I think the problem for many Sansa stans is that they stay in their echo chambers with their made up headcanons so that when they do venture outside that chamber to posts by other readers on the tag using the books, they are shocked and think there is some sort of unfair crusade going on against their fave.

I am not saying staying within fandom spaces is totally wrong btw. We all curate our fandom experiences on Tumblr. This app in particular allows us to block out ships or opinions we don’t particularly like. I am sure my group of mutuals and fans, including me, who reblog and follow posts have a similar kind of groupthink.

However, what’s fascinating with Sansa stans in particular is that Sansa is so much of a self-insert at this point that 90% of the character is headcanons. Her most popular ships are crackships, her relationships with her siblings has been re-written, she is now the underdog and outcast etc.

This has happened to me so many times -  I make a post, a Sansa stan responds saying I am wrong, I don’t know how to read, I am a hater etc., I respond with book quotes and ask them to read the books, I am called uncivil and then immediately blocked (they just have to get that last word in!) Rinse and repeat.

Take the post that got me the above message for example.

“I’m not like Arya,” Sansa blurted. “She has the traitor’s blood, not me.”   - Sansa, AGoT

This is really not what happens in that chapter at all. Sansa does not really think of Arya, admits to forgetting about her at the end and it’s only in the next chapter she thinks that Arya may have gotten away on the galley Ned had arranged for them (Which does not happen thanks to Sansa’s tattling of Ned’s plans and Cersei placing Lannister guards on the galley).

At this point Arya is still trapped in KL trying to get out and it’s only been 3 days since Ned has been arrested. However, as per this person, Sansa is begging them not to torture and kill her and therefore names Arya, who she thinks is already safe in Winterfell, 3 days after the Starks and their men are taken down....

In the OP, I have used the most basic quotes, but in the actual chapter it’s far worse. Sansa is actually still dreaming of marrying beautiful prince Joffrey when she is taken to meet Cersei:

That night Sansa dreamt of Joffrey on the throne, with herself seated beside him in a gown of woven gold. She had a crown on her head, and everyone she had ever known came before her, to bend the knee and say their courtesies.

“Sweet Sansa,” Queen Cersei said, laying a soft hand on her wrist. “Such a beautiful child. I do hope you know how much Joffrey and I love you.”

“You do?” Sansa said, breathless. Littlefinger was forgotten. Her prince loved her. Nothing else mattered. (---)

“She is a sweet thing now, but in ten years, who can say what treasons she may hatch?”

“No,” Sansa said, horrified. “I’m not, I’d never … I wouldn’t betray Joffrey, I love him, I swear it, I do.” (---)

“And yet, I fear that Lord Varys and the Grand Maester have the right of it. The blood will tell. I have only to remember how your sister set her wolf on my son.”

“I’m not like Arya,” Sansa blurted. “She has the traitor’s blood, not me. I’m good, ask Septa Mordane, she’ll tell you, I only want to be Joffrey’s loyal and loving wife.” - Sansa, AGoT

And then at the very end of the chapter:

It was not until later that night, as she was drifting off to sleep, that Sansa realized she had forgotten to ask about her sister. - Sansa, AGoT

So yes, Sansa is scared of not being able to marry Joffrey anymore, frightened of being accused as a traitor like her father and therefore throws out Arya’s name as the traitor - when as far as she knows Arya is in KL and Lannisters could have Arya, the same as her.

Next,

This is the funniest part! - ‘I haven’t read these books in a few years, however, it’s you who is very much lacking reading comprehension’ 😂😂😂

Make it make sense please. And then we are back to the usual Sansa is just a child, she’s 11 goddammit! She’s a teeny tiny baby! It’s totally justified for her to throw her even younger 9 year little sister under the bus as a traitor to be tortured or killed by the likes of Joffrey and Cersei instead of her.

And then finally, the predictable conclusion:

Because of course made up headcanons are ‘alternative interpretations’ and if we point out it’s fanfiction then we are being uncivil.

I can only say that I am glad that my side of the fandom don’t engage in this much fanfiction, projections and headcanons. It’s frustrating as a book fan to be told that I lack reading comprehension because I don’t accept their ‘alternative interpretations’ of how Sansa thinks Arya is safe in Winterfell three days after the Lannisters massacred all the Stark men and imprisoned Ned stark. And while Arya herself is still stuck inside KL unable to leave.

At this point I really do think there is no point in engaging with these stans because they are not doing this in good faith. Just block rather than waste time discussing. They seem to think that we need to accept their headcanons as book canon and if we don’t then we are simply anti Sansa posting anti Sansa stuff on the tags. It’s certainly a fascinating fandom aspect of a self insert fan favorite. It’s the reason she wins polls above more complex and well written characters in the books, the popular version of her is entirely about what fans project onto the character rather then actual written version in the books.

I looooove ur art ❤️ prioritize drawing what you want to draw, so do OCs and original content if that makes you happier, maybe spend less time thinking of how you feel making fanart makes you a lesser artist. It comes across as you thinking less of people for doing it, even though I’m sure this isn’t what you’re going for. really the two keys to posting art is 1. knowing how to use tags, and 2. having a dedicated art blog

tumblr only tracks the first 20 tags on a post, everything after that is Just For Funsies. tracked tags will show up in search, both for the whole website and on your blog.

if you're not sure what tags to use, see what other popular posters are using! i think i mentioned this in my tumblr guide post, but generally you want to tag fandom, characters, ships (if applicable), and any AUs or similar things. oh, and content warnings if those apply, too. then if you want you can try stuff like mediums and other general tags, that'd be your #art, #illustration, #fanart, #fanfic, #digital art, #(program you used), etc etc. you don't really have to use those, but if you want to keep your blog Super Extra Organized or if you're posting original content with no fandom tags to lean on then they are good options. (you can use things like #ocs, #original characters, #character design, #concept art, and genre tags for those!)

You want to have a dedicated art blog so you can keep your art front and center, if people have to dig to see your art or you post a lot of content they aren't familiar with aside from your art, they are less likely to stick around or follow you! this goes for all social medias really, not just tumblr. it's okay to make the occasional non-art related post, you don't have to completely separate art and artist here, but if you have an art blog you want it to be 95% things pertaining to your work. I have a main blog where I post everything that isn't my art, but occasionally I will reblog important things here or share other artists work because it's good that artists support each other :D

TL;DR - Get familiar with tumblr's tagging system and what the popular tags are for the types of artwork you want to post, and have a dedicated art blog! 💖

Bonus tip: Not everyone is online at the same time, and many people don't scroll to the bottom of their dashboards to catch up on every post they missed. You can schedule your posts so you post consistently at the same times, and you can schedule a reblog of your post later in the day. I for example will make all relevant art posts at 12PM CST, and I set the post to reblog at 8PM CST. The tumblr userbase is more active in the evenings, so if you don't post around that time it's definitely good to reblog things then!

À propos OCs: Do you or your other followers have original characters that exist outside of the context of a specific story you are working on? And if so, do you talk to other people about these characters often or at all?

I have approximately 100 OCs that exist within different universes (2 to 20 characters per universe). I occasionally doodle some if them and rarely ever write anything about them down, but I spend a lot of time watching them act out their lives and/or major plot points in my head. When I was younger I did original RPs, wrote a webcomic and some web serials, and would talk to my readers or other authors/artists/RP partners about the characters and their stories, but nowadays I pretty much never mention them. I might post art of them and caption it with “drawing [name] for once lol” and I’ve recently started tagging posts with my OCs names or their canons, but that’s it.

One time, a very nice person on here found one of those tagged posts and asked me about the OC and I was seriously stumped because I didn’t really know what to say.

I guess that’s another question: If you ever ask people about their original characters, what kind of responses are you looking for?

I eventually gave a quick rundown of his background and life and how it related to the post, but despite being asked for this information, and then some, I still felt like I was being annoying and embarrassing myself. I’m not used to people caring about my characters outside of a specific story they are reading (and I’m admittedly a lot more insecure about my creative work now than when I was a kid/teenager).

I say all this as someone who loves seeing other people’s original work and standalone OCs, so I understand that the interest can absolutely be genuine. Personally, I prefer reading public posts and meme fills, looking at OC-centric meme/aesthetic collections, and buying OC “merch” and art books to private conversations about them, so I don’t have much experience in the latter.

In a recent ask, an anon mentioned buying fanart; do you guys buy more fan art (if any) or art of original characters (if any)? If you buy OC art, is it usually just for aesthetics or are you interested in the characters themselves, even if they aren’t part of a story you are a fan of?

While writing this ask, I was mainly thinking about OCs in original works or RPGs, but my questions apply to fan characters too. …Wait, do people still differentiate between OCs and FCs? Or was that never even a common practice in the first place?

I tend to make characters in the context of a particular story, though if I like them, sure, I might rework them for other things. RP isn't really my thing. I do daydream, but that tends to be either very private and raw or the step before writing a story or making a specific concrete artwork with those OCs.

OC vs. FC was only in certain parts of fandom. I'm vaguely familiar with it existing, but it isn't something I've usually encountered.

For me, an interest in OCs is exactly equivalent to an interest in asking some published author about a character in their work. If someone's good enough, I may even like their OC better than the canon characters and go seek out fic in other fandoms where they used that OC. Any artwork is a chance to fall in love with new characters... But for me, yeah, it's very much about that work.

I don't find character creation sheets interesting or useful, including when I develop characters for something I'm writing. Even if one isn't literally using one of those sheets, you know what I mean: some people develop characters a lot and see where the characters take them. I see a plot I want and make characters who would naturally fit in it. I create only the level of backstory I need for that work. Maybe one or two stray details don't make it in, but I don't know what my characters eat unless it's relevant. I don't know what their first pet was called. Yadda yadda. I find that knowing all that makes the characters feel flatter in the final work than if I knew only "The one in blue who likes martinis" or some other couple of characteristics they need to stick in the mind in the scene where they appear.

I don't think in that RP way where the character is a separate entity from the artwork containing them.

I buy art that I find pretty and want on my wall. Now and then, it's from something specific and I do like showing off that I'm into that thing. The aesthetic might imply things about my tastes or values. It might be more than just "this object is abstractly nice looking in a way with no cultural connotations". But art is definitely for decoration for me. If I don't have wall space or it doesn't go with my decor, I don't get it.

General Question to Superbat Fans

Why do some superbat fans disrespect Clark so much? 🤷‍♀️

Whenever I see superbat posts in the Clark/Superman tag most of them ignore his history, his trauma, personality, his family/friends/allies [Lois, his parents, other Justice League members, Jimmy, Kara, Perry, John Henry, Pete, Steve, Cat and etc] his city, his children, [Conner, Chris, Mia, and Jon] and general mythos.

It seems people are only interested in Bruce's character and his family. The general vibe I get looking into this fandom is an odd combination of being heteronormative [strict top/bottom debate], misogyny [Lois, Selina, Talia, Diana, Lana] and sometimes even highly abusive! [Evil Clark but no Evil Bruce] It's a very crazy combo, but that's how it seems to me from looking at the majority of works.

For example, people typically make Bruce the bottom or feminine one. When realistically they would be switches. Yet, overwhelmingly all the work is dedicated to "Brucie Wanye." Even though most of the time his true personality is a cold, macho, caring man. Heck, I see Clark preferring more the bottom role. But, why the strictness when it comes to these positions?

To my other point I'm personally going to focus on Lois since, I prefer Superman's stories more than Batman. Anyways, this brings me to the lack of care towards Lois, where she is either villainized or not made to be an important person in Clark's live. Regardless of ships and platonic/romantic feelings, Lois is Clark's closest friend. Yet, none of that is rarely displaced in fanart, headcanons, and fics. Yet, Bruce's people are always made sure to be included.

Also, what's with the influx of evil Superman and poor innocent babyboy Batman. Look I like dark tropes, fluff, and all in between. I wouldn't mind the dark stuff so much if we at least kept the same treatment with both parties. Instead of only favoring one person.

To me and I'm sure many other people, it's deeply upsetting and disturbing to see the kindest original hero immigrant aka the champion of the oppressed. To be used for such weird, oc, fetishistic works.

Again, it's odd due to Batman having so much privilege and is known for being very controlling, yet it's never displayed in these darker takes. Batman is a good man, and can have troubling qualities, as all good characters have. Clark has his darker attributes too, but that’s okay as long as it presented fairly. Which from the looks of things isn't in this fandom.

Lastly, Clark and Bruce have a close friendship. Yet, again I see no one making art/fics about Clark's other close relationships. But, everyone seems to be a huge fan of being a multishipper for Bruce. Example being Selina, Talia, Joker, Harvey, Ghostmaker, Hal, Barry, Arthur, Diana, and etc. Seems to be to be a bit biased no, for fans that claim to love Clark and ship superbat have no problem doing this for Bruce.

Where's the love for other Clark ships like Lois, Lana, Lex, John Corben, Brainiac 5, Hal, Arthur, Diana, Barry, Maxima, Volcana, Blanque, and etc.

Also, just want to point out it's not really special that Clark recognizes Bruce's heartbeat as the go to superbat trope. He does that with everyone like again to list Lois, his parents, his children, his friends both in the Justice League, at the Daily Planet, and in Smallville. Heck, he's even given Jimmy his own personal watch to call him!

This is not an attack towards anyone's preferences. I just sincerely want to know why there's such a strong bias in superbat. It's so overwhelming, this disparity. I personally, do like superbat as long as they are both treated like equals.

***TLDR

I’m tired of Clark Kent being used as a tool to prop Bruce or the batfamily, rather than a true equal.

It just seems to me everything that makes Clark a beautiful character, with his engaging personality, mythos, and family/friends were thrown under the bus for the superbat ship.

To me a ship or an OTP should be an additional expansion and fun for both characters. Not a definite favoritism towards one person in the majority of content.

If you like one character in a pairing a lot, why wouldn’t you want to know more about their partner? It just doesn’t make sense to have an extreme bias. Again, this is in reference to the majority of superbat shippers, not to anyone personally.

What better way to celebrate Valentines’ Day than to celebrate it with your favorite idol boys in love! 

This is an Ensemble Stars themed Valentines’ Day exchange where you can share your appreciation and creativity with fandom friends and receive a special something in return. Only Ensemble Stars characters and OCs are allowed (OCs must include a reference sheet!).

In your application form you will be able to include what type of gift you would like to receive, including with who you would like it with! If you have something specific that you would like to see, please include as many details as possible. (Please be sure to include at least one canon character with your gift details if you are requesting an OC related gift).

Here are the cut off dates for the gift exchange. Please be sure that if anything changes that you send a direct message to us ASAP so that we can accommodate accordingly. 

Sign Up:  January 1st - January 10th 

Assignments will be sent out by January 14th!

Creation Time: January 14th - February 13th 

Posting Period: February 14th - February 21st 

Creation check in will be February 1st!

RULES

1. No NSFW. This is an all ages event!

2. This Valentines’ Day exchange event only accepts original fanart or fanfiction. The fanart must be at least finished line art and the fan fiction must be a minimum of 500 words.

3. No pedophilia/incest ships. Graduates x Third years is fine but anything else is not allowed. Platonic/familial relationships between the entire cast is allowed.

4. OC content is allowed HOWEVER at least one wish must include only canon characters for creators who are not comfortable with making OC content.

5. If you are unable to participate at any point before the creation period has begun, please let us know ASAP so that we can accommodate accordingly.

6. If there are any changes to your contact info (email, tumblr url) please contact us so that we can continue communication for a smooth exchange. 

7. You MUST post your gift by the deadline or you will be banned from participating in the future. We want everyone to have a good time and that means making sure you can get your gift posted on time.

FAQ

What is a gift exchange? How does this work? 

A gift exchange is when you agree to make a piece of art (fan art or fanfic in this case) for another person without them knowing who you are, and then receiving a gift back from a secret someone! Once you submit the form to enter the exchange, the mods will assign you a secret valentine that you will create for. At the end of the exchange, you can show off your gift and you will receive a gift in return from someone else. 

How do I join?

Once you have read the rules you can complete the application form and wait for your assigned secret valentine! 

What does it mean to volunteer as a backup?

If you agree to be a backup, it means that you are a literal angel who agrees to create an extra gift in the event that someone drops out of the exchange. 

Why no NSFW?

Because we want everyone to be able to join regardless of age.

Are OCs allowed? 

As long as your OC is Enstars related, absolutely! Please be sure to have at least one canon character in your request as well in the event that your valentine is not comfortable with making OC content. Do not forget to include a detailed OC reference (links to pages or sheets are allowed!)

I’m really not comfortable doing what my valentine wants, what now?

Story I’m most proud of: From Now On… A prequel to Ready Now, where Layton decides to look after the Barde kids. I find it hard to write from Layton’s perspective (because he’s much smarter than me), but I think I wrote him well here, with a lot of references to his past. (Randall, Claire, vague memories of his brother…) And I like the parallels between the Bronev brothers and the Barde siblings. I was kind of hoping it would get more attention, so if anyone fancies checking it out… The link is here. Please don’t be scared off Descole fans. I know it says ‘Descole isn’t portrayed in a good light’ but I only put that because I’m paranoid and it’s no worse than what’s seen in PL4, I swear

Hiiii for what it's worth I'd love to see more of your art, even/esp ocs and non fandom! I know it's tough to feel undervalued for ur art though, wanting validation is matter of course, and the whole 'you have to separate the value of your work from the attention it garners' thing doesn't work for everyone. I hope you do end up figuring out a balance for posting what you feel comfortable with. If I may be so bold as to offer a word of advice- try to consider yourself at least half of the audience you're trying to reach, give yourself the praise and attention for what you make, and it might help you to be more confident when it comes to what you post and to who, and to find a steadier group of followers. We're all just along for the ride! You're the one doing the magic. Scroll through your files and admire your art. zoom in on the details that you're proud of. Sincerely, another creator who can't show their work to a lot of their friends (in the closet) and has had to learn to not take themself too seriously for it

This got long so I'll put more ramblings under the cut.

Your advise is pretty sound, especially the part about making sure that you're your own target audience. It's something I've had to work on teaching myself because in the past I would be discouraged from drawing when I didn't get any response from my art.

I think my issue now is that my feelings about validation are in bit of a schrödingers situation. If I don't post my art anywhere I'm usually able to gather more than enough satisfaction from myself alone because since I never post it anywhere I can tell myself that people would have liked it if I had posted it. But the second I post I have to face the reality that not everyone is interested, which can be a harder pill to swallow when you know that your past fanart has been more popular.  That, and I feel intimidated by the fact that I know how people follow me for one thing, which might not be what I’m posting that moment and I can’t get over the idea of cluttering their dashboard (silly I know, when blacklisting tags and unfollowing exists).

A little while ago someone tagged a drawing I did with the fact that they missed the artist (me) which made me feel a little weird because it wasn't like I had gone anywhere.

On the other hand people here have usually been incredibly nice to me when I've posted in the past (I see you and I thank you <3) and it's been incredibly encouraging, even if this support somewhat hinging on the fact that I've been posting stuff from a fandom they like. I recognise that that’s just how it is and I think it’s a totally fair way to enjoy something.

I'm going to try to post more of what I want when I feel like it because ultimately even if I'm 50% of my audience, maybe the single other person out there who'd make up the remaining 50% would have their day brightened by seeing my take on something they're interested in.

So! I think I've figured out how to tag both the leosagi and leochi ships.

Since this is mainly a BLOG and not just a random social media page, it will be easier for me to organize the tags as if this were a more traditional blogging site. So I will be trying to keep the tags as few and as relevant as possible.

I'll be mainly using YuiNardo / yuinardo from now on for just the Yuichi Usagi/rottmnt Leo ship, and stuff like my own fanart. it's specifically "show x show" for me (Yuichi x Nardo, bc those are their unique names in their respective shows xD) and not some of the fan OC stuff

leosagi for the general 2003 Miyamoto Usagi/Leonardo ship but maybe also i.e. crossovers where ppl draw all the versions?

katanashipping also for 2003 leosagi? like I guess I'll decide based on how specific it gets (edit 1.05.23) definitely about 2003 leosagi, since that's where it originated from

I can't remember any other names so those are it for now. I probably won’t use the longer names like Yuichi x Leo, Miyamoto x Leonardo etc just bc I find it tedious to use that many spaces in tags when tagging can be sorta annoying to do on mobile and then fix later on PC. I’m more of a “tag and go” kind of person and I like my tags to be easy to write.

like im sorry I write so much (I don't enjoy writing lenghty things) but i legit need to tag like an oldschool blog occasionally bc I ENJOY finding stuff on my own blog later. it just makes sense! it is so confusing going thru multiple tags for the same thing when it could have a singular tag. or a single new tag for a specific use. and I've forgotten to do that after using social media so much for so long lol

anyway this isn't that important i am just chillin and remembered that I thought of this and needed to post it so I wouldn't forget.

Thinking of that, I guess the tag clogging starts to make sense, considering how much people are more used to the "tag clouds" popularized by twitter and instagram and social-media-like sites before those (the sites inbetween blogging and web 2.0, maybe, but didn't really use those as much so I don't remember either) + the confusion about what the og leosagi was (+ maybe general tmnt fandom confusion over various versions of media for the franchise)

lol it's gonna take a bit long but I'll reorganize the blog more once I have a bit of time on the side from other stuff. now it feels nice that this blog isn't actually that big yet. I don't use sideblogs very long usually and it's my first time actually making anything TMNT related for this long, so it'll be interesting seeing where this blog will go in general. like how it's probably been subtle that while this userhandle/blog started as a tMNT sideblog, I actually have started blogging more about Usagi Chronicles now bc I like the show. and idk what else I'll post if I have time but I will probs keep it as a reblog blog anyways!

I try not to write long blog posts on tumblr anymore but I think the whole "leosagi-leochi tag clogging" point brought up in the "Why do we ship leosagi" video is also just a good point abt how we don't really treat blogs like blogs anymore. every sort of behaviour online has become so influenced by the want to make it trend or have it at least be read at all ("social media" aspect of online behavior now) that even stuff like ao3, a fanfic site, will have tags like "AO3 algothithm, PLEASE be nice to me" when sites like that don't even HAVE algorhithms. it's interesting to think about but also a bit sad on the side because that "tag clouding" does seem to be the only way for some works to become noticed on the above-mentioned actual social media sites. this almost makes me miss sites like deviantart and blogger because things always felt more centralized and easy to find vs twitter, insta or occasionally even tumblr.

ANYWAY

lol all this just to organize my thoughts on ship tags

Decided to fill in four requests (What. The. Hell) for Palmira to meet Peppino, Gustavo and Brick, changed up her route walking home (never been to the joint). Also who tf asks for that, it’s not gonna be that exciting…??

It’s a simple A-to-B comic, dialogue isn’t spectacular, it’s where she introduces herself… Also, I can’t find any spec info (height, weight, etc) on canon characters for ref, but she is in between Gustavo and Peppino height-wise yet still a bit taller than Noise. I originally had her set for 5’4” (still really undecided), but she fit the role of a semi-petite comedic sugar-glazed Glumbby™️, and the image on her shirt:

Because that shit fits her type of humor.

Not gonna put this in the main tag, just the OC tag because it’s just that, OC trash. I’m finishing up proper fanart, and trying to revive drawing a scene from my original merman fic. Stress and switching styles is difficult as hell.
