Coming of age movie hot takes // Matt + Chris
YES, I realise that this is not a proper piece of writing, but don’t worry babies, mommy has got u covered for the weekend coming (hopefully) *nervous laugh*.
You guys can ignore this absolute yapping if u want but it’s really something that I must get off my chest because I think about it an unhealthy amount and make up too many scenarios for each of them in my head with themes and certain plot lines included. Plus, I feel like some of u are absolutely gonna eat this up lol.
But… here are my individual hot takes for both Matt and Chris and what kind of coming of age films they look like they’d star in + with specifically random but accurate details included. (Obviously these are all my own ideas and they may be vastly different to someone else’s, but I felt as though tumblr was the perfect place to brain dump this onto all of u lovely readers)
Matt:
Tumblr media
So first up is Matt. Matt gives very much one of those low budget indie coming of age movies where the quality may not be as good but the cinematography is beautiful, as is the plot line. Matt’s movie is the kind of movie you would go to watch and sob at for the entire time because it’s so irrevocably soul-crushing that it tears your heart up piece by piece. If he were to be in an indie movie I feel like it would low-key give off the same kind of energy as something like ‘All the Bright Places’ or possibly even ‘Five Feet Apart’.
Something absolutely tragic is bound to happen in Matt’s movie, and I feel like him dying due to some kind of terminal illness is a high possibility because I don’t know why, it just fits his vibe in a really weird way? Like- his coming of age movie has to be unbareably depressing for some reason.
He’s delicate and gentle, one of those really interesting characters that has so many layers/complications to him. Him and his main love interest share such an odd but heart-warming relationship that you just can’t help but be stuck thinking about the movie days after it’s finished. It bothers you so much that their happy ending was just out of reach.
For the soundtrack, I’m mostly getting Phoebe Bridgers vibes (specifically her Punisher album), something that’s mind-numbingly sad and fits the overall heartache of the cinematography so well that you just want to cry whenever something like ‘Smoke Signals’ or ‘Halloween’ plays beneath the ensuing dialogue. Also, in addition to Phoebe, I also get heavy Current Joys vibes such as ‘In a Year of 13 Moons’ and ‘A Different Age’. The very thought of imagining it makes me want to flat out sob.
Outfit / aesthetic wise for Matt, I envision very much warm brown leather jackets and baggy blue jeans with beat up sneakers and knitted sweaters. He always carries a tattered notebook and drives around a beat up pick-up truck. He smokes red Marlboro cigarettes and constantly seems to have one neatly tucked behind his ear (what-? It would literally look so pretty matched up with his beard and fluffy hair combo… don’t kill me). He’s shy and likes to keep himself to himself but is also hopelessly in love with our main character that also sort of keeps to herself, so he decides to pursue her before it’s too late.
I also feel like this Matt would for sure write 100 love letters to the main character but she would only discover them hidden within his notebook after he had died because when he was still alive he would never tell her what he was writing down whenever they shared moments together. Possibly Matt never got the chance to confess his feelings whilst he was alive, so they stayed forever friends and nothing more right up until he slipped through her fingers at the very end…?
(Bye I’m sobbing, why the fuck does my mind have to be so vivid and imaginative??)
Chris:
Tumblr media
For Chris I feel like it’s a little different. His coming of age movie would definitely be a mix between a light-hearted comedy of the classic ‘underdog that finally gets the girl’ whilst also incorporating really important life lessons into the mix of the colourfully bursting screenplay. In contrast, the cinematography is just as beautiful as Matt’s, but in a hazier way, so I’m getting very much party + late night hang out vibes from what Chris’ gives off. This includes darker, more moodier lighting, almost like ‘Euphoria’ in a way. I think his movie would more so correlate with either something like ‘Perks of being a Wallflower’ or even something like ‘10 things I hate about you’. I think the added comedy matches up with Chris’ personality in real life perfectly.
There’s definitely got to be one of those cliche scenes where they lock eyes at a party and all of the other guys on the football team are staring at the most well-known girl in school but Chris only has eyes for our main character. There’s some form of blue/pink/purple flashing lights and everything seems to take place in slow motion as they tentatively peer at each other from opposite sides of the random fish tank before them (Romeo and Juliet style) or some other form obstacle in the way.
For Chris’ soundtrack, I’m thinking something a little more upbeat, and I was possibly debating on Lorde, her songs fit Chris perfectly in my opinion, and no one understands the young mind quite like she does. The emotional vulnerability of her songs mesh together beautifully with Chris’ love language of touch and teenage curiosity and I can just envision something like ‘Perfect Places’ or ‘Hard Feelings’ playing over the back of one of those ending monologues where the movie cuts to a bunch of different scenes as maybe Chris says something really sappy and sentimental over the top of them in his voiceover.
Finally, outfit / aesthetic wise for Chris, I would normally put him in his baggy light-wash jeans and then pair it with a white t-shirt and some form of a zip up hoodie with a backwards cap, but to be honest, most of what Boston Chris used to wear way back when works pretty well too. I’m thinking, typical high school student attire, he’s on the lacrosse team, and is always wholesomely trying his best to impress the girl he’s had a crush on for years with his skills, giving the movie that light, feel-good atmosphere that leaves you with a fuzzy glow after you’ve rewatched it for about the 5th time.
(Again, actually sobbing, I wish these two brief ideas of movies actually existed wtf)
Author’s notes: I’m sorry if this is literally so stupid but I think about it so much, and I think about a lot of other possible movies the triplets look like they could star in. In fact, I even have a whole entire second series sitting in my camera roll of me explaining what horror movies I think each of them would look good in, so if u guys end up liking this one, then I would consider giving u a breakdown of my horror movie ideas if anyone were to wish it hehe. But thank u for listening to my rant and I hope it makes as much sense in your head as it did in mine… 🎀
People who I think would entertain this yapping and enjoy what I have to say here: @luv4kozume @luverboychris @lovingmattysposts @luvmila444 @rootbeerworshiper @nicksmainbitch @lacysturniolo @thesturniolos @strniohoeee @asturniolos @sturniolosreads @sturniolosstar @meanttomeet @sturniolowhore @mattscokewhore @matthemunch @mattestrella @vecnasnose0 @ellie-luvsfics @imwetforyourmom @breeloveschris @kvtie444 @stursweet @bernardsgf @fake-sturniolos @mattslutt @1800chokedathoe @orangeypepsi

It felt like they wandered for hours, no sign of Marlene - Sirius nor Remus knew if it was a good thing whether or not the screaming stopped. All they knew, was that they were getting quite concerned for their lost friends.
Remus tripped over a pumpkin at one point - someone must have put it on a grave for Halloween. Not too out of the ordinary in Sirius's option.
They were both on edge, though neither wanted to admit it. What started as an idea for a fun night, was now turning into a sort of nightmare.
Remus wanted to just grab James, Marlene, and Sirius and leave. Go back home and sit on the couch, maybe watch a movie and drink tea and then go to sleep. Was that too much to ask for? Apparently so.
Lets just hope they can find the others soon, it was late, and hell knew what they were going to do if they can't find them.

Kimetsu Academy!Genya Shinazugawa X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Genya spend Halloween together watching a horror movie that you say is romantic, but Genya doesn't see it.
Warnings: None
A/N: Modern!AU, Kimetsu Academy, Female Reader, Genya Shinazugawa
Update: I'll be posting this story on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays so I get a couple of days time rest between the chapters! Thank you for understanding, please enjoy the story!
PART 1 II PART 2 II PART 3 II PART 4 II PART 5 II PART 6 II PART 7 II PART 8 II PART 9 II PART 10 II PART 11 II PART 12 II PART 13 II PART 14 II PART 15 II PART 16 II PART 17 II PART 18
Genya groaned as his phone's alarm went off and he reached to close the alarm. The school would start soon and he would have to get up and get ready. It was his turn to prepare breakfast for you and him and he took his turns very seriously.
"Good morning, sunshine!" You called from the kitchen and Genya blinked as he looked in your direction, "Mor- Wait, why are you awake already?!"
"I couldn't sleep," You replied as you moved around the kitchen, "Breakfast is done!"
"Oh, okay, thank you, I'll just go refresh quickly." The young man said as he got up and went to the bathroom to wash away all his sleep and get ready for the day. Once he was done, he joined you in the kitchen and as soon as he sat down, you put a plate before him, followed by a jar of Nutella.
"What's this?" He asked, and you smiled, "French Toast!"
"Oh?" He smiled, "It's my first time trying some."
"I hope you like them!" You chuckled as you took a seat across from him and spread some Nutella on your own toast. Genya copied you and after a layer of chocolate spreading he bit into it and his eyes widened. It was absolutely delicious!
"These are so delicious!" He said as he took another bite quickly. You were so happy he enjoyed them, "I wanted to make this day special!"
"Why?" Genya asked and you absolutely beamed, "It's Halloween!"
"Oh?" He blinked and you nodded eagerly, "Yes! I love the whole holiday! So spooky, and fun!"
"I see," Your partner really didn't get the whole idea of Halloween, he and his big brother didn't really celebrate the spooky holiday, other than maybe watching a horror movie or something like that.
"Yes, and I want to celebrate this Halloween with you!" You said happily and Genya smiled a little. If this holiday was so important to you then he would celebrate it also.
"Sounds… Fun?" He nodded, "What do you have in mind?"
"I've already prepared our lunch boxes but I was thinking…" You grinned, "Do you mind if we order something today? I want to eat something unhealthy like pizza, burgers, or fried chicken!"
"Chicken sounds good." Genya said and you nodded eagerly, "Yeah, let's see what we are craving later today!"
"What else there is?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, uh, if you want to do something else than just order out?" Genya asked and you smiled, "Yes! I would love to watch some horror movies with you!"
Ah, he knew a little about them. While not the biggest fan, he did enjoy a good horror just like any other person.
"Sounds good. Should we get snacks and something like that?" He asked and you nodded, "Yeah, I was thinking that we could drop by the store and buy some popcorn, potato chips, Cola, and candy."
"Alright, I'm down with that." Genya nodded and you were smiling happily, "I know this amazing romantic horror movie! It's so sweet, it's one of my favorite movies there is!"
"Romantic…? Horror?" Genya was baffled, he had never heard of romantic horror movies, but if you said that it was good then they must have been.
You had been living together for a week already and Genya had noticed that you had an impressive collection of manga, games, and movies. There was no doubt some horror there also.
The two of you ate your breakfast and grabbed your lunch boxes as you left to go to school. Lady stayed behind, sending you guys off with a cute and small meow.
As you made your way to the school, you both talked about movies, but Genya was really curious about this romantic horror movie you mentioned.
"So…?" He started, "What kind of movie that your favorite one is?"
"My what?" You blinked. You had forgotten the whole movie and earlier conversation. Genya had to remind you, "The romantic horror movie?"
"Ooh!" You nodded as you remembered again, "Yes, it's really good!"
"Can you tell me about it?" He asked, "You made me really curious."
"I can't tell anything so I won't spoil it for you." You smiled like a fox, "But I'm happy that you are interested! You're going to love the movie!"
You managed to make Genya even more curious, but he thought that this was a chance to learn more from you, his girlfriend. If he learned what kind of romance you liked then he could use what he learned to properly charm you.
The two of you went to your own classes and as usual, met in your usual room where you ate lunch together. You had done your best again and you had prepared a meaty lunch for you and your partner. A meal that you both ate happily before lunchtime ended and then you headed back to your classes again.
By the time the school day ended, Genya waited for you by your shoe locker, and once you had switched your shoes the two of you headed out and towards the grocery store for some candy and snacks. Of course, you both picked your favorites and you were pretty generous with the amount of treats you bought.
Once your bags were heavy with treats, bags that Genya insisted on carrying, the two of you started some Halloween-themed small talk.
"How do you feel about vampires?" You asked and Genya hummed as he thought about your question and how he would answer, "They are okay, I think? Why?"
"There is this funny vampire anime I really like. Maybe we should watch it someday?"
"Is it scary?"
"Not at all." You chuckled, and Genya looked at you, "Is this movie we are going to see a vampire movie? Wait! Is it Twilight?"
"What!? No!" You shook your head, "I'm not touching those movies. No, this movie I picked is way better than some Twilight!"
"Then what is it?" The young man asked and you grinned, "You will see once we make it back home."
Genya frowned, but he knew how stubborn you could be so he knew that you wouldn't tell him until the movie would start. Once the two of you made it to your shared apartment, you moved quickly to fill the bowls with potato chips, candy, and popcorn.
Your partner tried to ask if you needed any help, but you had just told him to make himself comfortable on the couch while you set everything ready for your movie night.
"Are you sure I can't help?" Genya asked but you just shook your head as you placed the bowls filled with treats on the coffee table in front of Genya.
"Nope, I'm about done." You said as you walked to the bookshelf where your movie collection was. You looked around a little before you spotted the movie you wanted to watch, picked it up from the shelf, and went to put it on TV.
"Okay, now you can see what we are watching!" You said as you threw the DVD's cover to Genya, who caught it midair and looked at it.
"The Boy?" He read out loud. That didn't sound like a romantic movie. No, it appeared to be one of those creepy doll movies.
"Yes!" You smiled as you sat next to Genya on the couch, "Are you ready?"
Genya nodded and you put the movie on. The two of you watched the movie and little by little Genya started to-!
Aah, now he got it! Greta and Malcolm would band together to help Brahms' soul to move on from the haunted doll and then they would get together at the end.
"I think I understand the plot?" Genya whispered and you chuckled, "We will see."
What did you mean by that?
As you watched the movie go on, Genya grew wary when Greta's abusive ex Cole destroyed the doll that Brahms had possessed. But what happened next made him gasp in shock and surprise, "He was alive!?"
"I know, right?!" You cheered as you watched Brahms kill Cole and then chase after Greta. The movie went on and you and Genya were at the edges of your seats.
"Nooo, why did you stab him, he loved you!" You cried out and Genya also frowned as he watched Greta and Malcolm escape the mansion.
The end credits started to roll and you turned to look at your boyfriend excitedly, "So, what did you think?"
"It was pretty good, but I wouldn't necessarily call it romantic?" Genya thought out loud, and you nodded, "You're right, it's not necessarily romantic for everyone."
"You still think it was romantic?"
"Yeah, kinda?" You blushed a little as you averted your gaze from Genya and stared at the credits, "Imagine someone loving you as much as Brahms loved Great? It's… Scary but flattering."
"I- I-!" Genya swallowed nervously as he blushed. He wanted to say something romantic, this was a perfect moment!
"Oh well, are you hungry?" You asked as you reached for your phone on the table, "Wanna order that chicken?"
"I- I love you!" Genya finally managed to exclaim and you looked at him in shock, before you chuckled, "Ah, you like fried chicken that much?"
What? No! It was you that he loved!
"N- no, I meant…" His blush grew a deeper shade of red, "I love you! Like Brahms loved Greta!"
You stared at Genya with your eyes wide in shock, followed by you blushing furiously as you looked aside, "Ah, I… I love you too…"
Genya was happy to hear you say it, but Gods, you were both so awfully awkward.
"May I… May I kiss you and show it to you?" You asked carefully and your boyfriend went rigid as he nodded shakily. You turned to face each other and you were both so red it was almost funny.
Carefully, you placed your hands on his shoulders and leaned forward to catch his lips with yours.
Despite living together for a good week, you hadn't made kissing a habit yet. So when you kissed, it was new and special but the two of you had a lot to still learn.
This was one of those moments when you wanted to learn how to kiss better. As you kissed Genya, he did something new and bold, and pushed forward, so your lips were moving against each other instead of just staying pressed against each other.
You were started by his boldness and yelped a little, but slowly you moved your lips against his and it felt so different than just holding your lips together.
Finally, the two of you pulled apart and you were both crimson red… But smiling also.
"That was… New?" You said bashfully and Genya nodded shakily, "G- good or bad?"
"I… I didn't dislike it… It was nice." You said as you looked at him, "Maybe we should kiss each other more often? Build our tolerance?"
Genya's face turned beet red as he registered your words. Did you actually want to kiss more?
"I- I-!" He swallowed nervously, "If you want to?"
You nodded bashfully, "I- I would love to…"
"Then…!" Genya nodded, "May I kiss you now?"
"Please do."

a harry and mia blurb in which mia drags harry to a halloween party and it ends up being not so bad? 3k words fank u. takes place only months after h and mia get back together <333
***
Halloween dress up party tonight at Zack’s. I’ll meet you there at 8
Harry sighs as he looks down at his phone. He types back a reply:
I am not going to any Halloween party. Especially not tonight.
Yes you are. You don’t have any plans for the rest of the night.
I just don’t care much for Halloween.
But Zack is, like, your best friend!!!!!!!!
After me, though.
Right?
RIGHT?!
What's the point if I don’t even like Halloween.
You don’t have to like it to celebrate it.
That makes no sense, Mia. You go and have fun though.
She doesn't text back for some time and he thinks she’s gotten over it, but minutes later, he gets a text that he reads in a very threatening voice.
You promised me a relationship, Harry. Get up and get ready for this party. You have plenty of time.
If she’s on the verge of an angry rant, he needs to brace himself. He’s never been a fan of Halloween, and he’s especially never been a fan of the couple-y part of the holiday. What was wrong with watching a nice horror film back at his place, under some blankets, drinking hot chocolate?  Maybe he can use that to bribe her.
Let’s say I decided to go. I don’t even have a costume. I do, however, have plenty of horror movies at my place.
I don’t like scary movies :(
I also have the Scream movies, you nut
Still scary :( Just wear a suit with a bow tie and call yourself James Bond. Easy fix
If he had a nickel for every time someone said this to him, he’d be richer than he already is.
That’s so boring though.
His phone suddenly rings as Mia calls him after his text is sent. When he picks up, she starts talking immediately, but her voice is far away as if she’s put him on speaker. He can hear the shower running in the back.
“I don’t care what you wear. You are coming with me because I want to go and you promised me we’d go out more,” Mia says. He hears something fall.
Harry sighs, rubbing his forehead. “You are so difficult.”
He can imagine her grin when she says, “I am. I also have costumes I want to wear so I’m not taking no for an answer. Come on. You still have so much time to get ready. You don’t even have to do much at the party but drink and pretend to be interested in all the ghost stories Amara wants to tell. And trust me, she has a lot to say about ghosts and paranormal stuff in general. You know up until the age of 13, she swore she was some kind of mediator? It’ll be fun.”
“Mm,” Harry says half heartedly. “Sounds like so much fun.”
“It will be. I’m going to start getting ready now.”
“What are you planning to be?”
“A surprise.”
Harry raises his eyebrows. “Will I like the surprise?”
“I think you’ll love it more than anyone.”
“If we go to this, then you have to stay over with me tonight and watch some movies.”
“Okay! But no scary ones.”
“Only scary ones.”
“I don’t like those!”
“I’m compromising, Mia. It’s my only day off this week.”
“Fine!”
“Good. See you soon then.”
Harry should have known something was up her sleeve.
Ever since he started spending more time with Mia, it’s been hard to concentrate on anything else. He loves that she feels so familiar to him still, kissing and loving him as she always used to. A part of him feels sad about never realizing just how much she loved him when they were in their previous relationship, because everything she does now resembles what she used to do.
And if she loves him this much now, she must have been holding herself back from suffocating him with love months ago.
He ends up being a decent outfit. Since it’s his day off, he doesn’t want to put himself in a suit. It’s too boring, like he said, and he’s just not in the mood to wear formal clothing tonight. It’ll also mess up his planned outfits for the upcoming work week.
It’s all thanks to Google that he finds a costume that he has the clothing for, and something that he thinks Mia will appreciate.
He shaves his face first, because it’s what Mia likes and because it’s a part of the costume, and then he takes a shower.
He has pomade in his cabinets, but this outfit in particular requires heavy duty gel. He doesn't have any, but Mia’s kindly left some over from one of her previous visits, as well as some hair spray.
So he stands before the mirror in just a towel after his shower. He reaches for her gel and opens it, scooping some out. He looks at himself in the mirror and sighs. The things he does for this girl.
Carefully, he begins to smooth the sides of his hair back until the strands rest flat against his head. It’s difficult to do since his hair is so curly, but he finally manages. Anything that doesn’t rest flat goes behind his ear. The top of his hair gets more gel, and it’s combed over to one side, the long lengths at the front getting twisted so they hang over his brow.
He scowls. Yup. That’s a greaser look.
“Good enough.” He washes his hands.
The black jeans and white shirt combo isn’t hard at all to gather, and he has plenty of belts, but he really has to dig through his closet for that leather jacket he was once gifted all those years ago. He recalls telling himself to donate it, but in that moment he’s glad he didn't. He throws it on, as well as some perfume.
He calls Mia as he’s leaving.
“You better not be calling to back out of this, Harry,” she says upon picking up.
Harry sighs and locks the door behind him. “Why don’t you ever say hello when I call?”
“I need to be on my feet at all times around you.”
“I’m just calling to let you know that I’m leaving now and that you need to bring a jacket because it’s bloody freezing outside.”
“I’m from New York, I can handle some cold weather.”
“I brought you an extra jacket because I swear I knew you were going to say those exact words.”
There’s a smile in her voice. “You’re the best.”
“Mhm. See you soon. Bye.”
“Bye!”
***
Amara really does love her ghost stories, Harry realizes as she seamlessly transitions into a new story about some paranormal activity she noticed when she one stayed overnight in a hospital as a child. Harry calls bullshit on it because how is it that only her room lost power and not everyone else’s? Someone must have been playing a prank on her. But he doesn’t say anything because 1. that’s Mia’s best friend and 2. Zack’s glaring at him from over Amara’s shoulder.
Zack isn’t someone who should be messed with when it comes to his girlfriend. That much Harry understands. He respects it.
Mia texts him that she’s here ten minutes after he’s arrived, and he looks over at the entrance, waiting for her. Unfortunately, the moment he does, Zack hauls him over to grab a drink, and Harry has no choice but to comply.
“Amara said Mia is coming as well,” Zack says as he pours Harry a suspiciously fruity drink that Harry has no plans on drinking. Even garnish it with a bit of mint.
“I know.”
“How are you guys doing?”
Harry looks at Zack skeptically. “How are my girlfriend and I doing?”
“Don’t bust the messenger’s balls, Ponyboy.”
“Why can’t Amara just talk to Mia about us? Isn’t that what they love to do?”
“Amara is under the impression that if something is wrong with your relationship, she needs to be ready to sweep Mia away if necessary. She doesn't think Mia will talk to her that openly if you are having problems.” Zack takes a long sip of his drink and then grimaces. “Wow. That’s sour.”
“I appreciate your girlfriend’s concern, but no, Mia and I are just fine.”
Zack smiles. “Good.”
“And I’m offended that she’d think I’d be the problem.”
Zack raises an eyebrow. “Wouldn’t you be?”
“Fuck off.”
His friend tilts his head back and laughs, and Harry can’t help but smile along with him as he takes a sip of his own drink, forcing it down his throat when his tongue is assaulted with sourness. He pulls a face and Zack gives him a “I told you so” look.
“What’s so funny?” a soft voice behind them says.
Zack looks over Harry’s shoulder, and Harry turns around to find Mia there, leaning against the counter, reaching for her own red cup.
“Hi,” she grins, her eyes flashing behind her black mask. “Sorry I’m late.”
In that moment, Zack is gone, the party is gone, and Harry no longer cares that his taste buds were just ruined for the entire night, because Mia is in front of him, leaning all sexy against the counter on her hip, in a skin tight black suit, her hair down, and her mouth painted red. Her eyeliner is sharp, and her nails painted black, filed sharply.
“Fuck’s sake,” Harry swears beneath his breath.
“Hi, Mia. I’ll tell Amara you’re here.” Zack walks away from them, giving Harry a pointed look over his shoulder as he heads back to Amara. Mia’s grinning still, sweeping up closer to Harry.
“Hello, handsome greaser,” she says, touching Harry’s lapels. She pulls on them slightly to bring him closer.  “I was preparing myself for James Bond, but this is so much better. And look! We still match! Even more now, I think. Wow, we look so hot!”
Harry has to put his drink down and place his hands on her waist. She never wears clothing this tight, and he nearly groans to himself when his hands touch the smooth latex around her hips. His grip around her waist hits perfectly, as if it’s meant to belong there, and then he crushes her against his chest.
He leans down and presses a slow kiss to her red lips. “Catwoman, hmm?” he murmurs. “You look fucking ravishing.”
Mia giggles as Harry kisses her neck, tilting her head back to take a sip of her drink. She doesn’t wince like Harry did, and he feels her throat work when she swallows. He pulls back and kisses her mouth again, tasting the sour mix. When he pulls away, her lipstick slightly ruined, but he runs a thumb under her lip to fix it.
“I knew if I showed you what I was wearing,” she whispers, “you’d show up to my place and never let me leave.”
“You’re so right about that,” he growls softly. “Would have locked you in my room.”
Harry's hands travel a bit south until Mia giggles and pushes him away. “There are people here!”
He pulls away and rests his hands on the counter on either side of her now. True, Zack’s house is now filled with more people and the music is louder. He slides his drink over to hers.
“I don’t want mine.”
“It’s so good though.”
“It’s too sour.”
She takes another sip of hers and then reaches up onto her tiptoes to kiss Harry’s jaw. “I love when you shave, you know?”
“Mhmm. That's why I did it.”
“You do so much for me.”
“I do.”
“What an awful girlfriend I am,” she quietly teases. “Making you come out on your day off. To a Halloween party, hm?” She drags her hands down his chest. “Making you get all dressed up just to drink sour drinks.”
Harry smiles. “You’d be the worst, but everything gets better when I look at you.”
Her eyes light up. “You haven’t even seen how amazing my ass looks.”
“Don’t have to see it to know it.” He raises her chin to kiss her softly, wanting her lipstick on him. “I would love to see it though. Just to make sure.”
“Yeah?”
“Show me.”
She shivers at his voice, but only smiles coyly. “I want to go join the party, actually.”
“Mia,” he warns softly.
She reaches for his hand and turns around to lead the way. He does exactly what she expects him to do, look down at her ass. He groans and swears again, reaching for her soft waist, tugging her back to him. She squeaks when he squeezes her extra tight, pressing her against his cool belt.
“Behave,” she throws over her shoulder softly.
Harry kisses her temple, gently dragging his fingers over the base of her neck. “Are you really going to be the one telling me to behave?”
“Yes or there will be consequences.”
He chuckles. “I’ll behave only because it seems like it’s hard to take that suit off of you. Or I would be dragging you off already.”
She shivers again. “It was hard to get into so I bet it’s harder to get out of.”
“You’ll need some help, hm?”
“Shh,” she says, since they’re nearing people. She has to let Harry go to hug Amara. Harry is absolutely and shamelessly looking at how beautiful her thighs look in the latex.
He knows tonight is going to really test his patience, but he’s ready for the game.
***
He does manage to sneak her off to a vacant room upstairs, pressing her against the locked door as he kisses her fervently. She’s had a few to drink, so she clings to him even more, her hands running through his hair, messing up his style.
His own hands roam all over her body, lifting her hips to meet his, and her legs wrap around his waist.
“You are fucking killing me,” he whispers, digging his fingers into her thighs. “This suit. You never told me you bought it.”
“Told you it would be a surprise,” she gasps, her eyes fluttering shut when Harry’s lips migrate down to her neck and collarbones. He gives her a small bite that has her whining and bucking her hips into his, desperate for some type of friction. He’s never been one to be very interested in latex, but his mind is reeling right now, racing with several thoughts of things he wants to do to her, positions he wants her in, the sounds he wants her to be making.
“I’ve,” he whispered, “endured enough of this party for you. Let me take you home.”
“We haven’t even taken any shots yet,” she complains half heartedly. “I wanna take some. Amara spent all night making jello shots.”
“You are so difficult. And it drives me insane that I love that about you.” He pulls away, grabbing her face between his fingers. He kisses her hard, messily. “So much.”
Mia tugs on his hair, whimpering into his mouth. He presses his hips against her to relieve some of the ache, but it only makes matters worse.
He can’t breathe, overwhelmed by her presence. Finally, he loosens his grip on her face and slows their kisses. He releases her back to the floor and then rests his forehead on hers, both of them catching their breath.
“I bet you like Halloween now,” she says, grinning. When she tilts her head just right, he can see her lipstick smeared all over her cheek. He makes no move to fix it this time.
“Love it,” he murmurs, holding her tight to his chest.
“You’ve gotta stop grabbing my ass though. Amara keeps laughing at me about it.”
Harry drops his hand and gives her a squeeze. “Can’t help it.”
“Ouch!”
Harry pulls away and gives her a look. Then he slides down to his knees and wraps his arms around her thighs. “That does not hurt. Little liar.”
Her voice comes out all breathy. “Oh. What are you doing?”
“Showing you what really hurts.” He kisses her right thigh sweetly before biting it, sinking his teeth into her flesh.
She whimpers and grabs his hair, wrapping it around her fingers tightly. “Fuck.”
He grins when he releases her, but he doesn’t come back up to his feet immediately. Instead, he pulls out a little comb from his back pocket of his black jeans and hands it to her. “You ruined my hair. You fix it.”
She takes the comb with shaky hands and then works it over the sides of his hair, perfecting it back into its signature greaser look. She messes with the top a bit until it falls over his right eye, the gel now dissipating. The curls in his hair are returning, making him look even more attractive.
“Thank you,” he says, kissing her thigh where he bit, finally standing back up. “Back to the party?”
“Mm?” Her eyes are a bit glassy.
Harry smiles. “Or do you want to go home?”
She blinks out of her stupor. And then scowls. “You can’t trick me! You can’t just do something sexy and expect me to go home with you.”
“Mia, you are definitely going home with me. It’s just a matter of when.”
“You’re so cocky!”
“Am I? Or am I just correct, Catwoman.”
She shivers. “You…you can’t take me home early!”
“No?” he says innocently. “Good thing that’s not at all what I was trying to do.”
“Liar! I can see right through you. I’m so much smarter than you.”
She reaches behind her to grasp the door handle, yanking it down to open the door.
“Of course you are,” he chuckles, reaching for her hand, tugging her closer to him as they walk out side by side. “So much smarter, my love.”

💫✨ people I’d like to get to know better ✨💫
thanks for the tag @caffernnn !!
last song i listened to: So I'm actually going to plug three songs that I've been absolutely obsessed with over the past weekend and have been listening on repeat as a result, all by the same artist -- Lydia the Bard, over on YouTube.
Lydia makes villain songs for the Disney princesses (among other Disney female characters). Her first handful were just lower pitched versions of their songs (or songs from their movies), but as she progressed she started changing lyrics, and now she's really grown and is making the songs more and more unique, culminating in finally creating a wholly unique villain song for Tinkerbell, which just came out and is my favorite.
"Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall" recontextualizes Tinkerbell's animosity toward Wendy. In this version, Tinkerbell and the other fairies of Pixie Hollow brought Peter Pan and the other Lost Boys there because, due to the nature of fairies' existence depending on humans believing in them, fairies were dying all around them as humans grew up and stopped believing. So the only way to secure their own lives was to make sure their humans never grew up. But Wendy threatens that by making Peter and the others long for human lives. Therefore, Tinkerbell sees her as a threat who must be taken out to save her own and her friends' lives. Not only does this song make Tinkerbell a far more compelling character, but the vocal performance is stunning, and the animatic that goes with it is amazing as well. Literally obsessed.
The other two I'm obsessed with are Meg's (where Hercules betrayed her as well & she kills Hades & takes his power) and Isabela's (where Mirabel doesn't get to her in time, and her resentment over the arranged marriage drives her to snap). Meg's is a bop and has a killer line in "In time they'll say I was cruel 'cause I cared", and I'm sorely tempted to use her final look at the end of the animatic as my Halloween costume this year. Meanwhile, Isabela's is also killer musically of course, and has equally fire lines like, "What could you possibly expect was gonna happen when you made me? / Tend to a plant with poison and expect a flower, are you crazy?" They're both just so good.
favorite color: Purple! Specifically cool shades, and especially cool shades that are more pastel, mixed with grey. I also like blues and greens that are faded like that, too.
currently watching: A little while ago I had started rewatching Sabrina the Teenage Witch since I hadn't watched it since middle school, but once I got to season four it got . . . bad . . . and it has continued to be bad . . . so I've kind of stopped watching lmao. I've lately been rewatching Jenny Nicholson's videos, but I finished that, so now I've gone back to rewatching Jenna Marbles videos. Oh, and I really love this series on YouTube called Bistro Huddy! It's hilarious, and Drew (the guy who portrays all the characters) is fantastic, he really melts into the roles so you almost forget it's one guy doing all of them. Highly recommend checking it out.
spicy/savory/sweet: Honestly depends on my mood, but I do have a strong sweet tooth, so honestly it's hard to go wrong by offering me ice cream or a cookie or something similar.
relationship status: Currently dating the lovely @skimmingthesurfaces 💜 She's actually going to be here this weekend for my birthday! (My birthday is on Tuesday, so I'm very blessed to have her with me for the whole weekend.)
current obsession(s): Aside from the songs mentioned above, I've been really thinking about one OC in particular of mine, and her story / novel . . . she's a character that I first created when I was about 13 or so, and has gone through a lot of development since then, but I've been fleshing out a lot more of her story and how she fits into this new original world I've created (since she was originally created for a Legend of Zelda role play, albeit even back then she came from a country outside of Hyrule). I really love and cherish her a lot, even though most other characters think she fulfills the "girl who is stupid" role in the adventuring party, and on some level she also believes this about herself, and to be fair she's not academically gifted at all, but to be even more fair the school and in fact overall society she was raised in was extraordinarily fucked up and no one actually tried to teach her in a way that would help her learn and in fact learning disabilities were seen as personal failings and --
Ahem. Anyway. I have long since described her as "pure of heart, dumb of ass," and in many ways she is, but for the second half, she's not in the way most everyone around her growing up assumed she was (including herself), or like, even if she is it wasn't 100% her fault (like yeah she slept in class and that was on her, but also she wasn't going to learn whether she was awake or not because her teachers were not going to be able to teach her the material because it was a One Size Fits All approach to teaching even when it really wasn't -- and that's only scratching the surface of the problems in her school / culture, it's a huge systemic thing). But yeah I've just been thinking about her a lot. Karin's my girl and I love her lots.

A Haunting In Jackson

A Haunting In Jackson - A "Visitation Rights" Short Fic (Absolutely can be read as a standalone fic)
Summary: A campfire story told by Tommy Miller leaves you spooked
Pairing: Joel Miller x F!Reader; Miller family dynamics (includes Ellie)
Rating: 13+
Warnings: Just an eerie setting, reader being nervous, fluff and Miller family dynamics. Some swearing. A spooky ghost story told around a fire pit on Halloween night.
Word Count: 3,200 (ish)
Author's Note: For the Halloween writing challenge made by @pedrocontestsrus ; set after Visitation Rights and Morning Routine, but definitely can be read on its own if you're not interested in reading the other two. That's why I'm submitting it for the contest. It's a standalone in this fic verse. Happens 7 months after Morning Routine (for anyone who cares about the timeline).
Prompt #2 Theme: A Dark and Stormy Night ⚡️
Must include: A lit candle, bare feet, a creaking sound
I keep visiting this Jackson verse, but I don't mind! Funny how Visitation Rights was basically just a spur of the moment fic.

Jackson, 2025
You hadn't watched a horror movie in over twenty years, but you remembered one that had an eerily similar scene setting to this. Thunder rumbling in the distance, lightning flashing, rain pelting against the roof, wind howling, blocking most sound out and causing the branches of the old ash tree behind the house to smack violently against a window in the spare bedroom that your boyfriend, Joel Miller, used as an office and workstation for his smaller projects.
You were padding cautiously down the short hallway to the stairs in the dark of night barefoot, you know, like any sane person who'd been startled awake by a loud thump, armed with nothing but a burning candle stick in your left hand. (The electricity had gone out right before you’d gone to bed that night and the stick was closer to you than a flashlight.)
Paranoid you was mentally bashing yourself for not waking Joel, letting him stay curled up in your shared bed, completely unaware that something might be going on. Joel might be half deaf, but he was a strong and capable fighter even at 58, and you could've used back up in the form of his broad frame, just in case.
Logical you however, had managed to convince yourself that whatever you'd heard couldn't be anything you couldn't handle on your own. You'd survived more than twenty years by yourself in a fungal apocalypse with nothing but dogs for company. Besides, it had to be nothing. A raccoon, if anything. Or a squirrel that managed to chew its way into the house. It couldn't be an intruder. This was Jackson after all. A small town filled with a community of proven trustworthy people and guarded by a fence and patrol twenty-four-seven. It was for that same reason that it couldn't be one of the infected. They never could get even close to the fence line, the Jackson patrol, which you and Joel were a part of, made sure of that.
And it definitely wasn't a ghost. It sounded stupid in your head even as you were denying it. Billions of people had died since outbreak day, most on that very night or during the following few weeks, and you'd never run into anything that suggested ghosts existed. If you couldn't find evidence for them after such a tragic and violent event, you figured there was nothing to find.
That somehow didn't stop you from being on edge anyway.
Damn you, Tommy, you cursed silently. Damn you for getting it into my head.
x
You'd always hated horror stories, ever since you'd been a little girl around a campfire, your friends swapping scary stories as tradition insisted. Your friends had fun with it, but you didn't, spending half the night lying awake in your sleeping bag, listening for any strange sounds, even though you were always camping out in the relative safety of each other's backyards.
You'd braved a few horror films here and there in your twenties, but only for dates with guys you were really interested in, and you always lived to regret it, spending hours on edge, looking over your shoulder just cause you felt like someone was watching you.
When your life had become a literal horror story, the infected one of the greatest nightmares ever seen in fiction and reality alike, you'd hardly slept for days. Most people probably hadn't, as they feared the infected attacking and tried to comprehend their massive losses, but you had especially not been equipped to cope with the fungal spread. It probably hadn't helped that you'd taken off alone, with only your black Labrador Raven to comfort you at night. But she'd been a lot better than nothing. A second set of ears that allowed you to sleep enough to remain sane.
So you were the least likely person to understand why Tommy was insisting on telling a scary story as if you were all back in middle school.
It was Halloween night, and while it wasn't an official holiday Jackson still celebrated (for obvious reasons), Tommy and Maria had still invited you, Joel, and Ellie over for a chicken dinner and a marathon movie watch of The Addams Family DVDs he'd found in a store the month before while out on a supply run. Popcorn was even included.
It was later followed by supper over the fire pit in their backyard, which consisted of beef sausage made from one of the cows recently slaughtered in town. Joel had showed Ellie how to cook one over a flame on a stick pulled from Tommy's tree line and sharpened by the pocket knife you'd gifted him last Christmas.
It was after everyone had finished eating that Tommy brought it up.
Joel had groaned. "Don't we live enough horror?"
"This one's a good one," Tommy insisted. "You'll love it, Ellie. It's based on a true story."
She was the only one who looked remotely curious. You supposed that was enough since Tommy was settling into his seat and clearly mulling over how to tell the story. Maria seated herself right alongside him, willing to humor her husband.
Joel was distracted, and likely would remain so. He was seated cross legged in the grass next to his one and a half year old nephew, receiving handmade wooden blocks over and over as the toddler willingly passed them to him. Joel had accepted each one with a grateful smile that mesmerized you a little. The kid was too young to know, but Joel had made them himself not long after he'd returned to Jackson with Ellie, months before you showed up. But you knew. You knew how much his nephew meant to him, and how much he valued his time around him. You were so focused on their endearing interaction you almost didn't catch on that Tommy had begun telling the story. (You'd later wish you hadn't caught any of it at all.)
"This story happened here in Jackson," he started. "The Green family, husband, wife, their teen twin daughters moved here in 1925, lookin' to start up a ranch like most who moved out here back then." He took a beat. "Now, Jackson was a small town then, might've been even smaller than it is now, but it wasn't that safe. Most of the west had been tamed but there were still a few outlaws, and no matter how tame a place gets, there's always someone stirring up trouble of one kind or another." He paused, "Mr. Green was one of those men. Wanting so desperately to afford his own land, he took to gambling, and cheating when he knew he was about to lose. Ripped off a lot of people, and in turn pissed a lot off too. In revenge, someone lit up his little clock shop on main street with him inside. They didn't know his wife was there with him at the time."
"But their daughters weren't?" Ellie prompted, invested in the story already, hands on her knees.
Tommy shook his head. "Thankfully, no. They were at a friend's house."
"So, what happened after?"
Tommy sighed. "The sheriff found the burned bodies of the husband and wife in the morning, unrecognizable, but the twins recognized the jewelry they were wearing, and everyone knew he'd been there that night. The fire was immediately deemed suspicious, but the murderer was never found."
"Of course not," you couldn't help but huff out. You'd heard a lot of similar "true" stories like this.
Tommy ignored you. "The orphaned twins found their father's secret stash of money and were able to rebuild the shop, turning it into a sewing store. A place where they handmade clothes to sell to people and sold supplies to make clothes, depending on the customer's preference. They turned the second floor into an apartment, living in the same space together. It made their lives easier to be able to walk downstairs and immediately get to work."
"There was one hiccup though," he stated dramatically, "The twins kept hearing noises at night. It started out as random thumps and creaks they could easily explain away as the place settling or their cat knocking something over, but eventually turned into sounds like footsteps and dragging furniture. It freaked them out, especially since whenever they got up to check, the living room chair would usually be out of place. They couldn't believe it. Something was moving it, but they didn't know what. Didn't want to know."
"What happened to them?" Ellie encouraged him, frowning.
"About a decade after their parents died, their shop burned down mysteriously," Tommy told her, poking a stick at the burning logs in the pit, moving them around so the flames could get more oxygen. "Luckily, they weren't inside, but because there was no evidence to otherwise, it was deemed as an accident this time. The twins weren't convinced. They thought their parents' killer was out to get them. They thought their parents had been with them in their apartment and were trying to scare them out, like they knew it would happen again. Of course, they couldn't prove it. That didn't stop them from moving out of town, settling somewhere else. The locals heard that they lived out long, mostly happy lives after, but they were, to say the least, haunted by what happened until their last breaths. They never did get justice for their parents. Their killer was never found."
Everyone here that isn't under two years old could relate to that, you thought. Being haunted by loss and injustice.
"While that was the end of the story for the Green family," Tommy continued, "It was not the end for the town. The spot the shop was built on was used for other things. More shops, eventually a house when main street was moved over to where it is today. No more burned down, but the roof on one shop collapsed because of heavy snowfall one year. Of course, that's not the spooky part. It's that the buildings on that piece of land were always haunted. The owners always heard strange things a night, always found furniture moved from where they'd been left."
"Where is the piece of land?" Ellie inquired curiously, if not a bit nervously.
"You don't actually believe him, do ya?" Joel teased, glancing over at her.
"Of course not," she denied. "I just want the full story."
He grinned like someone who'd found a secret to weaponize against a friend. You were smiling too. Who knew Ellie was superstitious?
"No one knows where the piece of land is," Tommy declared. "It could be one of our houses for all we know. I don't think it's mine, but then I sleep through a lot."
"Tell me about it," Maria huffed.
You chuckled at her comment but couldn't help but shiver a little. It wasn't like you thought Tommy's "true" story had actually been real, but rather that the spirit of the story (pun not intended) had settled over you, so similar to the feeling you used to get after finishing up a horror movie. It may have been fake, but your body reacted like it wasn't, getting keyed up over the creepiness of strange noises happening in a house that should be quiet.
Joel, ever so vigilant, noted your shiver, but assumed it was from the cool wind picking up. It was probably close to ten at night.
"Well, we outta get home, huh?" he suggested, looking up at the sky. "The clouds are gathering. Might have a storm tonight."
"I'm certain of it," Maria told you both. "Can smell it in the air."
You never quite understood how people could do that, and wondered if your sense of smell was just bad.
You pushed yourself up off the log you were sitting on as Joel scooped up his nephew and handed him off to Maria. "See you tomorrow," he said to both her and his brother. They both nodded.
"Thanks for the story, Tommy," Ellie said, hopping onto her feet. "Even if it's totally fake."
"If you say so," he hummed, smiling. He almost convinced you that he believed the story and that it wasn't entirely made up. Almost.
Ellie was about to walk away when Joel stopped her with a hand. "Where are you going?"
"Some friends of mine are hanging out with Dina at her house," she informed him. "I said I'd stop in."
Joel gave her a disapproving look. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I won't be long," Ellie replied, giving him a pleading look. "You know them."
It was mostly true. You and Joel had seen her with her friends before and had met Dina herself, but you both weren't naive enough to think that wasn't just the tip of the iceberg of knowing them. Teens hid their truths well.
Still, against his better judgement Joel gave her the benefit of the doubt. "Be at the house by midnight the latest."
Ellie jumped in spot. "Okay, I will. Thanks!"
Joel shook his head as she jogged off. "Am I going to regret that?" he asked you.
"Probably," you said honestly.
You both turned to Tommy and Maria one last time to say goodbye and kissed their son on the cheek before strolling back to your house across the street.
The wind started to really blow and thunder boomed in the distance. An autumn storm was definitely on the way.
x
A wooden floorboard creaked behind you and you spun around, heart pounding in your chest. You relaxed instantly when you saw that the noise had come from Joel stepping on one of the house's loose floorboards (that he had been, in fact, planning to fix that weekend). In the dark you couldn't really see the details of his face, but there was enough light to see the outline of his sleep mussed hair and angular nose. You could also see that he'd slipped on the matching shirt to the gray sweatpants he sometimes wore to bed on chilly nights before following you.
"What are you doin’ up?" he murmured sleepily, voice as gruff as ever.
"I heard something," you whispered back. "Probably nothin’, but..."
Joel nodded, understanding. If there was anyone who could outmatch your anxious state of being at any point in time, it would be him. He already had the handgun he kept hidden in his nightstand in his right hand.
Of course he'd taken your concern seriously. Even though he'd been in Jackson for nearly two years, he still fell into old habits easily. He'd probably never quite believe that the town was one hundred percent safe. It was why he'd joined patrol.
He didn't know why you were worried, but you being worried was enough, and you decided not to tell him that the single thump wasn't really what had compelled you to get up.
The storm was dying down, and when another thump sounded, followed by a soft whine, your current dog, a senior black Lab named Penny, limped out of her bed, stopping by your side loyally and growling, neck hair standing on end. Though your heart was banging in your chest and your mind was once again wondering what the hell was in the house, there was still a part of you that managed to wonder how Penny had heard the sound at all. She'd been progressively losing her hearing during the past year, and her deafness was in both ears, unlike Joel's.
You and Joel glanced at each other anxiously and quietly made your way down the stairs, Joel automatically taking the lead, and you gratefully following. Penny smartly lingered at the top of the steps, watching you go.
Once you'd both made it to the kitchen, Joel tried flicking on the lights, and you were grateful when they worked, surprised that the men who dealt with the power supply had gotten it back up and running so soon.
Ellie, however, was certainly not pleased by that revelation. She blinked at you and Joel, squinting in reaction to the sudden bright light, and groaned. "Fuck."
She was seated in one of the kitchen chairs, bending slightly over to rub the big toe of her right foot, clearly having stubbed it on something when she'd stepped into the room. Her tied back shoulder length brown hair was soaking wet and she was still wearing the dark green raincoat Maria had gifted her on her sixteenth birthday.
She pulled her hand away from her toe to pinch the bridge of her nose, eyes avoiding both yours and Joel's. "How much trouble am I in?"
"Ellie, do you realize what time it is?" Joel lectured, immediately switching into dad mode. You liked to think it was trademarked to him. "It's four AM. You promised you'd be home by midnight."
"I know," she moaned. "But I fell asleep, and no one bothered to wake me up. Dina didn't know I wasn't supposed to stay over."
"Why didn't you tell her?" Joel quizzed as he approached her. He sniffed the air. "And why do you smell like you poured alcohol over your head?" He stared at her disapprovingly.
Ellie grimaced. "I may have drank a little." She knew better than to deny it at least.
"Go get washed up and get to bed," Joel ordered sternly, eyes narrowing. "And don't think about spending time there next weekend. We'll talk more in the morning."
Ellie chewed her lip, but didn't argue, standing and bowing her head in defeat as she raced past you both to do as told.
Joel shook his head as he watched her go and scrubbed a hand over his face. You blew out the candle you were still holding and placed it on the kitchen table before reaching out to slip your newly freed hand into his. "Teenagers."
Joel grunted. "She listened better out on the road."
"Out on the road she was in survival mode," you reminded him gently. "Here she feels safe enough to make mistakes. To get into trouble."
"Are you trying to imply it's a good thing she stayed out all night and drank?" he huffed. "Did God knows what else?"
"No," you said simply. "I don't like it either. But at least it's normal."
And it was far better finding Ellie in the kitchen, even if she was a little tipsy, than some ghost.
You snorted at your train of thought.
"What're you thinkin' of?" Joel asked, having noticed.
You shook your head. "Nothin’. Let's get back to bed."
He agreed to it reluctantly, still stewing over what Ellie had done, and after you shut the light, you led the way back upstairs, past Penny, who'd climbed back into her dog bed in the hallway.
He got back into bed first, and you followed, wrapping an arm around his middle, burying your face against the back of his shoulder, and he accepted your embrace without protest.
You slept soundly for the rest of the night, what little there was left, despite Ellie having come home late.
There were worst things in life than a teenager coming home drunk.
At least you weren't living out a horror movie called A Haunting In Jackson.

KATE BISHOP SPECIFIC (not really) HEADCANONS
These are mostly if you were dating her.
I really wish she was real.
- She has your name written on the side of her bow, with a glittery purple sharpie to be exact.
- If there's a cute couple tiktok trend, be ready because she'll beg you to do it with her. Hard on the "would you still love me if I was a worm" one.
- One time she wanted to surprise you with heart shaped pancakes but she messed everything up and they came out all deformed (and burned too).
- When she was about 13 or 14 she had a crush on Clint. But one of those "I admire him so much and I want him to be my dad" kind of crushes.
- And before bed she always daydreamed about all the possible ways of how she could meet him and then it would end up with him adopting her and making her learn all kinds of tricks.
- She has a crush on any character that is linked with archery, epecially Katniss Everdeen and Legolas.
- She would always wake up about ten or fifteen minutes before she needs to just so she could spend some time cuddling with you (even if she sleeps attached to you like a koala).
- She often surprises you with flowers and your favourite sweets just because she likes to see you smile but also because she wanted an excuse to buy Takis for herself.
- When she's sad she'll listen Taylor Swift's sad songs at full volume in the middle of the kitchen floor.
- But when she's in a happy mood and home alone she would throw a concert with all Taylor's choreography while in her boxers and sports bra.
- Every single day she has to show off her abs to you, just to "make you see the progress she did while training".
- She is awful at math.
- She is THE gentleman.
- One time she ate one of Lucky's treats because she thought it was a piece of chocolate and she didn't realize until you told her.
- One time she splashed you with water as you were coming home from work. (Yelena was coming to visit her and Kate thought it was her.)
- She's a crybaby when it comes to cheesy rom coms
- She is terrified of spiders, even the little ones with teenie tiny legs.
- One time you arrived home finding her covered in green goo. (She tried the slime arrow inside the apartment and somehow she got it all over herself).
- If your first language isn't English she'll spend hours on Duolingo and on YouTube to learn your language.
- Katniss and Peeta were her bi awakening.
- You had gifted her a little golden retriever plushie and every time she goes away on missions she brings it with her since it reminds her of both you and Lucky.
- She would totally binge watch edits about her and mumble to herself how amazing and hot she is.
- She loves hugging you from behind and giving you sweet little kisses on your neck.
- Whenever she's watching a show or a movie she always falls asleep mid way.
- She's a boobies girl.
- One time she was taking a bath and she thought about that episode of iCarly where Carly got her thumb stuck in the faucet. She tried to do it and got stuck too.
- Her go to nicknames for you are "princess", "baby girl" and "pretty girl" and during spicy time she whispers them into your ear to praise you.
- When she kisses you she has either both her hands, or at least one, on your cheeks.
- She loves playing with your hair, especially when she's anxious to calm herself down.
- She is not a morning person and will always send you to walk Lucky at 6 a.m.
- She gives the softest, most knee shattering and heart melting hugs.
- On halloween matching costumes are a must. And they're something stupid like ketchup and mustard or Scooby and Shaggy.

7 movies 7 tags (stolen from @/clannfearrunt)
What better opportunity to talk about movies whereupon I always got to show it to people who'd never even heard of 'em!
Ultraman: the Adventure Begins (1987): did you know there's a Hanna-Barbera animated adaptation of Ultraman? well now you do, and it's still cheesy, but now it's American cheese. to this day, I must say the name Susan in a sinister voice and point (also sinisterly).
Hanuman and 7 Ultramen (1974): did you know there was also a Thai production of Ultraman? no joke, this was where I'd first heard of Hanuman, but I didn't get all the hindu promo because I had the Japanese-dubbed cut on VHS as a child, which had a label in English but no subtitles that I can recall (I might not have even been old enough to read yet anyway) and I have no idea where my birthparents even found it. I don't remember there being any box art for it, in fact, idk if it even had a case. anyway, it's another a cheesy movie even more continuity errors, but as an adult it's another fun one to laugh at with friends.
Mermaid Forest (1991): okay, now let's switch gears from good old monster fun to some grimdark monster horror, because god. I developed a taste for blood at a very early age. it's based on the manga by Takahashi Rumiko (of Inu Yasha fame), with a soundtrack by Kawai Kenji, and it revolves around the tale of eating mermaids for immortality... but with a catch. the odds are against you, as most eaters either are poisoned by it or turned into unaging monsters. what can go wrong!
Mermaid's Scar (1993): another Rumik World OVA, look at that! but Scar a different adaptation of a different chapter. Mermaid Forest is still my favorite between these two, but I can't introduce one without mentioning the other, and they're both great for the Halloween or Obon seasons.
WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3 (2002): okay, this one scratches an itch specific enough that if I had to pick one, it's possibly my favorite movie. yes, this is technically the third movie of an anime about utility mecha (called labors), but you don't need to have watched the series to watch this movie. I especially recommend going in blind the first time, no spoilers, ideally on a rainy day in the dark; but in every rewatch afterward you'll notice more and more hints and details. of course, if you do watch, content warning, WXIII (Wasted 13) is a crime drama, so prepare for a suicide near the end of this movie, too.
the Others (2001): is it time to dial it back a bit? well, how about a ghost story about a widow, her photosensitive children, their new housekeepers and the recent intruders. it's been a while, so idk if I still could, but I used to be able to recite this whole movie's script if I wanted to. another one for the spooky seasons, goes great with blackouts and thick fog.
Origin: Spirits of the Past, aka Giniro no Kami no Agito (2006): I'll finish with one more animated movie-- produced by the same studio as for Last Exile, if you like steampunk, but this one's more solarpunk. suspension of disbelief and all that, watching Origin is more about the vibes, okay? the opening is serenaded by Kokia while dragons made of trees hatch from the moon and enter Earth's atmosphere. and it's beautiful. peak grass-touching propaganda, no notes. don't ask about the volcano.
Tagging @child-of-crows, @fangenstein, @marismolotov, @mini-binni, @photochoco and @ruby-goulash.

CORDELIA: Buffy. You're really campaigning for bitch-of-the-year, aren't you? BUFFY: As defending champion, you nervous? CORDELIA: I can hold my own. You know, we've never really been close, which is nice, 'cause I don't really like you that much, but... you have on occasion saved the world and stuff, so I'm gonna... do you a favor. BUFFY: And this great favor is... CORDELIA: I'm gonna give you some advice. Get over it.

Hi Hanna! Hope you’re doing well, have been wanting to ask for a while and now that the Halloween is near, ( it’s almost September, I’m ready lol) I thought I finally bother you 🙃
What’s your fav Halloween franchise movie? And what’s your fav Friday the 13th?
Any other fav must watch slashers?
Also thoughts on conjuring? I just watched the original movie, that I thought I would never watch, and it wasn’t that bad.
Also also also, since I’m already asking 124363737 things- fav saw movies and are you going to see the saw x? ( I think you mentioned that you watch saw movies, if not, my apologies)
Hope it’s not too much, if it is, feel free to ignore.
Have a nice day! 🦇
haha hi! still not used to asks being this long now. first off this got me so excited that for the first time i'll be able to decorate my own apartment for halloween..!!
favorite halloween franchise movie: of the original franchise i'm a big fan of 4 & 5. and i love both rob zombie movies.
favorite f13: i really like part ii & vii (and special mention to jason takes manhattan)
some must watch slashers: folies meurtrieres (1984), just before dawn (1981), the prowler (1981), the mutilator (1984)
on the conjuring.. honestly not a lot of thoughts, i don't particularly care for it and due to patrick wilson reasons i never know which one is conjuring and which one is insidious. i stopped at 2, not my type of christian horror.
fav saw movies: oh it's been so long since i've watched them but the saw movies are dear to me, they were part of my 'im a big girl now' movies when i was like 13 and started renting horror movies by myself. so i have fond memories of the first 3, but i need to rewatch them. i never completed the franchise and i've no idea whats going on in saw world rn but i'd love to watch the new one if it ever gets released where i live with SUBS.
and ty! you too ^_^

Well, now that I've updated my favorite Christmas songs list. Here is my list of favorite Halloween songs. Note, this list is subject to change based on my mood.
Bonus: Locked Within the Crystal Ball by Black Moore's Night. It's not actually Halloween related but it has a very elemental magick feel to it so I felt it was worth a mention.
Also bonus mention for Queen's A Kind of Magic.
25. Witch's brew by Omnia. The lyrics are directly taken from Shakespeare's MacBeth but because the play is considered to be cursed the song may be cursed. The story goes that the scene with he three witches was based on an encounter Shakespeare had with some actual witches and as punishment for making them characters in his play, the play was cursed. Now actors and theatre crew consider it bad luck to say the name of the play. It's often referred to as "The Scottish Play" and the only time its name can be said is when you are talking specifically about the character. So because it might be cursed, I put it very low on the list.
24. Lost in the Shadows from the Lost Boys soundtrack. This is an old favorite as I used to watch that movie every summer but I associate it more with summer than Halloween which is why I put it so low on the list.
23. The Master's song, sung by Renfield in Dracula the musical by Frank Wildhorn.
22. Life after Life from Dracula the musical by Frank Wildhorn and sung by Dracula and Lucy.
21. Anything can happen on Halloween sung by Tim Curry for the TV movie version of The Worst Witch.
20. Hex Girl from The Hex Girls for Scooby Doo and The Witch's Ghost. From the Wiccan Eco Goth equivalent of The Spice Girls.
19. Touching old Magic AKA The Halloween song from the Halloween door episode of The Real Ghostbusters animated series. Surprisingly good for a song from an animated series from the 80s.
18. Halloween by John McCutchen. This was a pain to track down. I heard it on Halloween radio and liked it and it took me a while to find a decent recording of it.
17. Halloween by J. P. Ashkar. This song was a Tiktok hit last Halloween and the full (longer) version of the audio can be found on Youtube. It's really very catchy.
16. Creepy Crawlies by Scary Bitches. This song was (for many years) the unofficial theme song to the Spirit Halloween store. The first time I heard it was on the radio in a Spirit Halloween store.
15. Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) by David Bowie. Not quite Halloween related but it plays on Halloween radio and so does Magic Dance (which is listed under this one). The album Scary Monsters (and super Creeps) inspired Danny Elfman during his Oingo Boingo days.
14. Magic Dance by David Bowie for the movie Labyrinth. Sung by Jareth, The Goblin King, and his goblin minion, to entertain a human baby.
13. The Witches are back to the tune of the similarly named Elton John song, from Hocus Pocus 2.
12. One way or Another. The Hocus Pocus 2 version sung by Bette Midler.
11. I put a spell on you. Bette Midler's cover from Hocus Pocus.
10. Horror in Action by Kayak. For some reason this song makes me think of Cain and The House of Mystery horror anthology comics by DC.
9. You won't survive by Count Crow. A parody version of "I will Survive" sung by Dracula to his victims. I just think it's darkly funny.
8. Fright Night from J. Geils Band. This is the title track for the movie Fright Night from 1985 starring the late Roddy McDowall as a hasbeen horror actor who is dragged into the world of the supernatural when teenager, Charlie Brewster, believes his neighbor to be a real vampire. Peter Vincent must overcome his fears and becomes the hero he always pretended to be. Roddy McDowall's voice is even sampled briefly in the song.
7. Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett. How can I not love this classic? But my favorite version of it is a recording I actually only heard relatively recently. Vincent Price's cover from the 1970s.
6. Thriller by Michael Jackson and Vincent Price. I mostly love it for the iconic dance but most especially for Vincent Price's poem / "Rap" and of course his iconic cackle at the end of the song. My friend Sarah used Vincent Price's cackle from the song as my ringtone on her cellphone for many years.
5. Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr. This one is a childhood favorite. The title track to the original Ghostbusters movie and the theme song for The Real Ghostbusters animated series. The animated series inspired me to study parapsychology and made me want to be a parapsychologist when I was thirteen.
A recent interview with Ray Parker Jr. revealed that he loves the song because it always makes people smile. No one is ever crying when the Ghostbusters song is playing. He said how even little kids will answer "Who you gonna call?" with "Ghostbusters!" And that's what he likes about the song, it brings people joy. There's no negative emotion attached to the song. And I realized he's right. It's just a fun song.
4. Pet Sematary by The Ramones. Deliberately misspelt, this song was the title track for the movie of the same name, based on the novel by Stephen King. I actually like the song more than the movie. The song is from the point of view of someone who doesn't want to be raised from the dead. In role playing games I always made this the favorite song of my original character, Shelley.
A cover of the song was performed by Plain White Ts for the soundtrack of Tim Burton's remake of Frankenweenie (he was remaking his own short film but as stop motion). I actually prefer the original Ramones version. Though I do love it's use for a Frankenstein story.
3. Weird Science by Danny Elfman / Oingo Boingo. I love the song for it's bouncy nature. Yes, it's "Mainstream' but so what? Oingo Boingo fans who refuse to like any of their "mainstream" songs are (in my opinion) kind of pretentious. Yes, it was written for a cheesy teen comedy that later became a 90s teen sitcom on USA Network. But so what? The song is from the point of view of a scientist / sorcerer or alchemist attempting to create life. It's heavily inspired by Bride of Frankenstein and the version used in the opening of the Weird Science TV series samples clips from Bride of Frankenstein.
In role playing games I often made this the favorite song of my "therapist for monsters" character Percy Van Helsing.
2. Dead Man's Party. This song will now always remind me of a wonderful time I had with my cousin and soul sister, Jessica Louise Conroy and her son, Joey, at Six Flags last Halloween season. It played a lot over the speakers there and was already a Halloween favorite of mine. It's by Danny Elfman from when he was the lead singer of the rock band Oingo Boingo. And it makes reference to the scary story "Room for One More." Today Danny Elfman uses it as his encore performance at the end of his Nightmare before Christmas concerts but between 1996 until 2015 he did not perform it live. Now it's tradition that he adds it to his annual Nightmare before Christmas concerts. And the song became the basis for Six Flag's Halloween stage show of the same name, "Dead Man's Party."
1. This is Halloween. Written by Danny Elfman for Nightmare before Christmas it finally reached the Billboard Top 100 for the first time this year. My favorite recording of it is the demo version sung by Danny Elfman himself because it sounds like Jack Skellington is giving you a tour of his home town.
Another Bonus: I also love Halloween Bash by Irving Fink. I didn't put it on the list before because I couldn't remember who recorded it. I knew it as "Monster Bash" from Halloween Radio, a song I heavily associate with my dearest friend Lorie Pringle
