Beneath a Steel Sky, I remember playing this game many years ago. The odd thing about this game is that every so often I catch myself thinking about it. What's strange about that is that this game wasn't exactly ground breaking at the time of its release, the gameplay isn't that hard and well... the writing wasn't that clever. That's why it’s so strange to me that it has a sequel, a recently released one at that. Full Throttle doesn't get one or Day of the Tentacle (both of which got re-releases fairly recently) but Beneath a Steel Sky that one gets a sequel, one that I intend to get at some point.
Thing is even though I have essentially slated this game throughout my earlier paragraph I do have a great fondness for it. It has a certain amount of charm that many within this genre never achieved. I also admit I kinda love the god awful British accents that appear in this game, you get so used to hearing American voice talent that its jarring to suddenly hear someone with a deep brummie accent speaking. Or just hearing some of the word choices that are oh so British like 'bum' instead of butt or the unironic usage of the word 'mate'.
Oh, and despite what Steam tells you this game was not released in 2020, its original release was in 1994, it came to Steam in 2020.
