chat noir needs to stop getting himself hurt whilst protecting his lady 2k22
AO3 / FFN
Pairing - Marichat
Prompt - ‘Healing’
Summary -
Warm, salty tears seeped through his bandages, lightly stinging his wounds but it was nothing compared to the agonising pain of knowing that he made her cry.  Again.  "Why...? Why do you always do this to me?" Her words were barely a whisper yet the impact was enough to make his heart pound incredibly hard. "How many more times are you going to make me see you die before me?" Marinette pulled her head back and finally faced him with tear-stained cheeks and reddened, watery eyes. "How many more times are you going to die until the cleansing light stops bringing you back to life?"
(Or, AU where the cleansing light doesn’t heal all of Chat Noir’s injuries and he ends up having to get constantly patched up by his Lady)
~(x)~ . . . "Owch! Hey! Ow-ow-ow! You! You did that on purpose!" The feline hero scowled at his companion with as much venom as a baby kitten, his tail swatting irritatedly against her mattress and his faux ears plastered miserably to his blond locks. Marinette simply glowered back wordlessly with enough intensity to make him shiver in fright, bandages tight in her tense hands as she continued to patch up his wounded chest. A chest that was very bare and very naked, the teen hero having had no choice but to zip his suit down to free his arms and torso in order for his partner to apply the necessary medication to help him get better sooner. Though, Marinette was doing an excellent job in paying no heed to the sight of her partner's half-nakedness much to the feline's utter dismay and continued to sort him out in silence. She didn't even bat an eye at the way he tried to wiggle his kitten ears, his need for her undivided attention to his pleading face and for something to get rid of the suffocating tension that wafted in the bedroom was indescribable. "You know, this would've been a hundred times easier if you allowed me to show my identity to you too." He continued to pout pathetically, leaning his face into her personal space only to get pushed away by the nose with her pointer finger as Marinette continued to work. Before he could come up with anything else to break the agitating silence, a very unmanly and high-pitched squeal leapt out of his throat as soon as she tightened the bandages without mercy or a word of warning. "Hey!?" "Oops." The girl casually replied with a cool, unapologetic tone. Her raw anger towards her partner still burned within the pits of her stomach as she patted his body down to check for any more injuries or pain he could be hiding (he's done it before in the past, like the absolute idiot he is). She paid no mind to the way his heart instantly elevated under her careful touch and the way his cheeks bloomed with a light, rosy glow. "There. All done. I want you to take these remedies home with you. Be sure to take plenty of painkillers and sneak away to the doctor for anything else that I may have missed. And for the love of god, rest. Don't even think about stepping outside for patrol or whatever that isn't an emergency." His ears flickered up, noting the sheer pain in her voice (that she tried so, so hard to steel) and the unconditional worry glittering within her baby blues. Unadulterated guilt sewed his organs together tightly within his throbbing chest, a pain that was so much more intense than the physical wounds he wore. Wounds that he gained from sacrificing himself to save her. Again. . "Marinette...? Marinette?? Talk to me, please," He placed his hands on hers gently, his partner slightly taken back from the tantalising warmth of his bare skin upon hers, his blunt fingernails grazing the skin on the back of her hands. "I'm really sorry...I didn't mean to make you worry..." A shuddering, wet gasp left her throat despite all her restraints and Chat Noir immediately brought her into his chest and held her tight as she scrambled for purchase over his shoulders. His heart practically shattered from the way her tiny frame shivered and trembled with silent sobs within his protective arms. "How many more times are you going to die until the cleansing light stops bringing you back to life?" "I...I have faith in you to bring me back, every single time-" He didn't get a chance to finish off his half-hearted reasonings as Marinette pushed him back onto the bed with a strength that would rival her alter-ego's, hovering over his body with clenched teeth and tears cascading down her face and splashing against his. "...Marinette...?" "You said you love me, right? That you'll always love me, right? Is that all a lie?" Ice filled his veins from head to toe and the provoked boy immediately sat up with an incredulous, angered expression. Cupping her face, he brought her even closer towards him so that their lips were merely just centimetres apart. "Of all things you should question, my love and my devotion for you aren't one of them. Don't you dare underestimate me like that, Marinette." His body shook with both fury and pain, biceps trembling as she placed a tender hand on one of his arms. "There's nothing in this world I love more than you. Nothing. I would do anything for you. I would destroy the world a million times over for you if you wish. I'm yours in every way you want me to be. So don't question it again!" He didn't expect her to place her forehead on his chest reverently, pinpricked hand now tracing the heated skin above his heart and her tears still trickling down. "Then...why don't you live for me? If you love me so much, why don't you try your damn hardest to live!?" Taking advantage of his awestruck, flabbergasted face, Marinette crashed her lips against his. At first Chat Noir was frozen from pure shock, body as stiff as a board and lips unmoving whilst hers bruised his. Then, determination, selfishness and the urgent need to prove even further just how much he loves her pushed his senses back into action and he immediately kissed her back hungrily. It was anything but graceful, yet, it was better than anything he's ever dreamt of in his entire life. His mind and his senses were filled with nothing but Marinette. Sweet, sweet Marinette. His Lady, his Princesse, his amour, the love of his life and the girl he would do anything for in a heartbeat. The way his fingers greedily tangled up within her midnight hair and then traced the length of her spine just to make her curve into his frame made the experience so much more passionate and amorous and the way her hands cradled the back of his reddened neck made him purr with delight. Every sound she made, he swallowed. Every sound he made, she breathed in. Marinette slowly pulled away with a pant, eyes still fluttered shut and melting into her partner's touch as he trailed tender, tender butterfly kisses down her soft jawline. She didn't even need to open her eyes to know that he was lovingly peering at her under his unfairly long lashes, watching her every move as he rested one of his strong arms around her slim waist. "What was that for?" He finally broke the peaceful silence, murmuring against her flushed, heated skin before deciding to steal another kiss from her soft, dewy lips. And another. And another. And another. "And I want you to be honest with me, Marinette," He had her chin tilted up to face him with one of his fingers and then warmly tucked a few strands of stray, mussed-up hair behind her ear. "Please," She took the time to study his pleading and earnest face, memorising the way his dark lashes shadowed over his feline emeralds and enraptured by how they managed to peek under his messy, blond fringe. Marinette didn't even think to stop herself when she naturally placed a trembling hand on his heated cheek, the duo simultaneously melting into the considerate touch and their faces only a breath away. Then, she traced his bottom, peachy-pink lip with the pad of her thumb, tugging the kiss-bruised flesh down only for her Chaton to delicately nip the digit with the sharp of his fang. Her face was on fire but her heart was soaring. "For every battle you come out unscathed or without losing your life by sacrificing yourself, I'll kiss you." Her baby blues was the calm ocean and his fiery green eyes widened at the delectable deal she was trying to propose. "Isn't this a sweet proposition? You have nothing to lose if you agree." The only answer she got was him pushing her down on the bed this time round, his body perched on her lap and his hands on either side of her head. "I'm not going to let any akumas even have the chance to imagine hurting you, let alone touch you when I can easily stop them. And if my death guarantees your health and safety then I'm more than happy to never be able to kiss those lips of yours ever again." His expression remained firm and resulted despite the way hers crumpled. "Chat Noir...don't you see that seeing you die over and over again is killing me? Why can't you just do as I say for once!? Why do you have to be so stupid and selfless and selfish and just so stupid!" She didn't let him even breathe, bringing him back in for another harsh, powerful kiss that lacked any sort of finesse but set his entire body ablaze in the best way possible. But, what she whispered into his lips next both made and broke him. "Why can't you see that I love you too..." Once again, the injured hero was left speechless, lips parted in awe and eyebrows furrowed under the mask, not knowing whether to be elated by her heart-filled words or to cry from the excruciating pain written all over her sullen face. Either way, tears began to form in his eyes without much prompting and his vision started to blur into splodges of colours. "Wha...what?" His lips were captured by hers again, mouth insistent and teeth brutal. "Marinette, when? How? I thought there was someone else- mmph- you can't keep kissing your way out of this-" He pushed himself back up (reluctantly), cradling her tearful face and then pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Close enough to bask in her warmth but far enough to resist the temptation to kiss her senseless. "Always...I have always loved you." She quietly admitted, fingers running through his hair and her shyness prominent in both her expression and body. "And I also love him too...but..." "But?" "As much as I love him too, as much as I'll forever treasure the day he went out of his way on the first day of school to seek forgiveness from me and gifted me his umbrella..." She pushed his head down to rest on hers. "I can't help but keep choosing you. You. My partner. My other half. My future." She clung to him tight, unaware of the realisations that went through his head simultaneously. "I can't have you die! Never again! Please! I want us to be together and happy without worrying about Le Papillon or anyone else! I want to be your bride and even...I even want you to be the father of my children, Chat Noir! So please, just listen to this selfishness of mine!" . "De-transformation," She almost swore she was dreaming as her partner glowed with a brilliant flash of neon green and blinding white. His hair became shorter and neater, his bare, bandaged chest was adorned with a familiar shirt and his eyes... His green, green, green eyes. The very same gorgeous eyes that captured her heart on a daily basis both in and out of the mask. Oh, the way they sparkled and glittered and the way her reflection looked just so beautiful within. She couldn't utter a single word as her Chaton unveiled himself to her as her Adrien. "I want it too," His voice was so wrecked and so raw, his hands clasping hers tight and his nose grazing her softer one. Lips just a breath shy away from hers. "I want it so badly, so, so badly. I want to be with you forever, Marinette," He pressed his lips against hers. Once, twice, thrice and they lost count. "Adrien..." The way she breathed out his name with so much love and so much relief made his heart grow wings and skyrocket out of his chest to cloud nine. "Mon Adrien," "I can't promise that I won't get hurt again when saving you," He placed a firm kiss on her cheek. "But I promise, I'll try. I'll try my hardest. Because I want to be with you forever." "Forever, and always," . . . ~(x)~

A Story of Questionable Decisions
A Story Of Questionable Decisions by myfanatickingdom
Chat wants Ladybug to notice him as a love interest, and flirting just isn't doing the trick, so after meeting Marinette, who is similarly broken-hearted, they begin to 'date', because what better way is there to make your crush notice you, than to make them jealous? (Hint - there's a few). Marichat fake-dating fanfic.

Latest Story: I'm Not Allowed to Love You
Whelp. *smacks lips*
I know. I haven't written in a while. And look at me, finally motivated to do so! I sat down with all intention to write a new section of a slow-burn, smut, MariChat story I'm working on. Instead, I couldn't get the closing of season 4 out of my head, and this ball of angst tumbled out onto the paper (if you will). Shouldn't surprise me. I seem to routinely aim to write fluff and end up with a flaming ball of angst instead.
Meh. Writing is writing. A story is a story. I'll take what my Muse gives me.
Summary: Ever since that night on the Palais de Chaillot, when Chat Noir refused to abandon Ladybug, things have been different between them. Ladybug blushes around him a bit more. She's been more vocal about how upset and scared his needless risks make her. She laughs more at his jokes, and forgets to berate him for making them in the first place. She's even flirted with him a bit more. Adrien is fading from her thoughts as he's slowly replaced by Chat Noir, and it terrifies her. Then, one night, Chat Noir takes his shot, and asks Ladybug out one last time. Neither of them could have anticipated the can of worms that would open, and how painful her answer would be.
Rating: Everyone (Although, a bit of a CW here, there are references to Chat Blanc, and so death and destruction are both talked about in passing)
Word Count: 2363
Status: completed one-shot
**SPOILER ALERT: Story takes place after s4, so there are spoilers for Strike Back.**
Continue reading below, or find this story over on AO3, on FFN, or on DA.
I'm Not Allowed to Love You
“Chat Noir, I'm sorry, but I can't.” Ladybug hugged herself as she stepped back from him, her head low as she stared at the rooftop they were on. His feet came into view, and she whipped her gaze away, unable to even see that much of him.
“I don't understand.” His voice was soft, confused, and had a hint of pain hidden behind it. “You love me, don't you? I know you didn't love me romantically at first, but you do now. I know you do. Right?” There was no malice in his voice. No anger or aggression. Yet Ladybug still flinched each time he asked her if she loved him, and every step he took to try to close the gap, she took one to keep the distance. Three steps in, he stopped.
“Look, if you don't love me that way, I get it. It hurts, but I get it. I've already gone nearly two years loving you when I knew you didn't love me back the same way. I just- I don't understand. I thought-”
Her light sob stopped him cold.
“Ladybug? I'm- I'm sorry. I didn't mean-”
“I can't love you, Chat Noir.” She hugged herself tighter, clawing at her shoulders and wanting to rip herself apart in frustration. “Don't you get it? I. Can't!”
“Oh.”
Ladybug didn't need to see him to know how much he deflated with that one word. She knew how he lost a couple of centimeters as he slumped; his knees buckling slightly and his shoulders rolled forward, his tail hanging limp behind him. She didn't need to see; the image already stabbed her right in the heart.
“I do though,” she whispered. She wasn't sure if she said it in desperation just to get it out, or if she hoped it would be a balm for his wounded soul.
“You- you do?”
She couldn't stand the hope that rang through his words. She shouldn't have said anything after all.
“You love me?”
Her curling further into herself was all Chat Noir needed as confirmation. He didn't allow her to retreat this time. He sprinted to her and pulled her into a hug before she registered what was happening.
“I don't understand, Bugaboo. Isn't this great news? I love you and you love me. We love each other. I don't get why this is so bad. I promise I'll protect you as much as I always have, and I'll keep you focused on the problems at hand. I know I haven't been the best at that in the past, but I'll be better. This won't be a distraction from our duties as heroes. I swear.”
“No!” She shoved him away. Covering her ears, she started muttering to herself. “No. No no no no. No, this won't work. This is terrible.”
“I don't-”
“We can't be in love with each other. I can't do this again.”
“Again?”
“I can't see-” She finally allowed herself to look at him again. To her, his eyes were a haunting blue, and his costume white. She yelped and clenched her eyes closed to the sight. She couldn't see him like that again. He was in so much pain. He caused so much death and destruction. He was so broken, and she absolutely could not let him become that again!
“Ladybug, why can't you just tell me what's wrong? Why aren't you happier about this? About us? I know it will be a bit tricky dating without knowing who the other fully is, but that can come later, after we defeat Shadowmoth.”
“It won't happen.”
“Of course it will. I know we'll win one day. Our love won't-”
“Our love destroys the world, Chat Noir!” She clapped her hands over her mouth. Her eyes widened, and she collapsed to her knees. She wasn't supposed to say that. He wasn't supposed to know.
“What?” He stumbled back, as if retreating from a flame. Catching his balance, he collapsed to the rooftop as well. “How? How could-? No! There's no way! I don't believe love could ever be destructive like that. Especially ours.”
“I saw it.” Ladybug stared at her open palms, now resting on her lap, unsure what else to do with them.
“You-?”
“A few months back, I screwed up. I did something stupid as Ladybug. Something for personal gain. As I was running home as Ladybug, Bunnyx found me.”
“Bunnyx? Alix from the future? The Rabbit Miraculous holder?”
“Mmhmm. She brought me to the future. Not that far, either. Only a few months, maybe a year; tops. Everything was destroyed. The whole world. The moon was broken in half. Paris was flooded. All the citizens were petrified. The Eiffel Tower was knocked over onto its side. The only building still standing was the Montparnasse.”
“How did it get that bad? Was it Shadowmoth? Why didn't Bunnyx get me too? Why haven't you told me any of this?”
“I- I don't know what caused it. Bunnyx said it was best for me to never know that much of the future. She just told me to do what I do best: purify the akuma and use my Miraculous Ladybugs to fix everything. But-" Her breath caught in her throat; clogging it in a failed attempt to stop the next words from spilling out. "-then I saw who was akumatized.” Ladybug slowly raised her eyes to meet Chat Noir's.
“Me?” He gasped. When Ladybug nodded, he shook his head violently. “No! I couldn't! I wouldn't submit to an akuma! I wouldn't have kept it! You would have saved me. I know-”
She stilled him with a gentle hand on his chest.
“I don't know why he kept his akuma, but that Ladybug – the one that should have purified the akuma and fixed everything – she was one of the people frozen in stone. She was reaching out; pleading. A couple meters away from her was a petrified Hawkmoth with his hands up to protect himself.”
“No. No, I wouldn't kill you! I wouldn't kill anyone! That wasn't me!” Chat Noir jumped to his feet. “You have to know that's not me!”
“I know it's not you, Kitty. It wasn't him either.” Ladybug stood up and took Chat Noir's right hand. He ripped it from her, but not before she felt him shaking. “He didn't want what happened. He asked me to save him. I did, by the way. I was able to return him to himself, and then I came back to our time to erase my mistake. That stopped everything from happening, but I'm still terrified that I may screw up again, and then you'll become him.”
“Is that why you can't love me? Because you're afraid I'll become the akumatized version of me that destroys the world? Do I scare you?”
“No! No, you don't scare me, Chat Noir.”
“Don't trust me then?”
“I do trust you. I know I haven't shown it lately, but I do.”
“Then, why? I still don't understand how any of this makes it wrong that we love each other. I don't get how our love could possibly destroy the world.”
“Because he told me that's why he was akumatized.”
“What?” Chat Noir froze.
“He told me that our love is what did that to the world. He said that we were happy until Hawkmoth found out.” Ladybug quickly wiped the tears away before Chat Noir could spot them. “I don't know how Hawkmoth – or Shadowmoth – figured out that they were – that we were - together, but I can't chance it.”
She turned her back to Chat Noir. It hurt too much to tell him all of this; to watch him as she confessed one of her greatest fears. “It was bad enough that Mayura almost manipulated you into giving up your Miraculous with that sentimonster of me. Now that Shadowmoth has nearly every Miraculous, who knows what he could do to try to manipulate us?”
“Wait.” Chat Noir paused as he tried to wrap his mind around everything. “So, let me get this straight. At some point in the future – probably the near future; possibly right now – you and I start dating. It goes well, and we're happy, but Shadowmoth finds out. Somehow that results in the moon getting destroyed, Paris toppling, the citizens all getting frozen in stone, and the city – possibly the whole world – flooding. Somewhere in there, I'm also akumatized. It may be because of the disasters. But it's more likely that I created those disasters somehow?”
“He could throw his Cataclysm like an energy blast, and he could do it as often as he wished.” Ladybug shuddered as she remembered that massive glowing orb Chat Blanc used to threaten the end of the whole universe. All because it hurt too much for him to lose her love. Is this a mistake? Am I going to turn him into Chat Blanc now because I'm denying my love for him? Ladybug shut her eyes tight to the thought. She didn't know what to do. Loving him could cause the world to end. Breaking his heart could cause the world to end. Why did she have to fall in love with him? Why did he have to fall in love with her first?
“But all of it was because Shadowmoth found out. And the akumatized version of me called him Hawkmoth instead?”
Ladybug nodded again.
“So, either Shadowmoth is going to go back to calling himself Hawkmoth, or that future is already officially erased. Isn't it? No problem then.”
“We can't be sure!” Ladybug whipped back around. “And what if it's not exactly the same, but our love still gets you akumatized? What if I let my guard down, and it causes you to- I can't! I can't take that chance! Don't you understand? I can't! I won't let him turn you! I have to protect you! I'm doing this to protect you! Please, understand. Please. I can't-”
“Hey!” Chat Noir pulled her into a hug. “Shhhh. It's okay. I'm okay. We're fine. We're fine.”
“I can't do it again.”
Chat Noir gently stroked her hair as he whispered soothingly in her ear. “You won't. It's okay. I'm so sorry you've carried this alone. I'll be careful. And we don't have to be together right now, okay?”
“I'm sorry,” she sniffled into his chest, “I'm sorry I can't love you. I can't. I can't-”
“Shh. I get it. I get it, Ladybug. It's okay.”
She pulled him close. So close that she might have broken his spine if he wasn't also a superhero. She clawed at his back as she tried to pull him even closer. As close as possible to try to protect him. Her tears streaked her mask, her cheeks, and the chest of his suit.
She loved him. She loved him most of all. As much as she thought she loved Adrien, this was more. This hurt more. She wished to protect him all the more. The fear of losing him overwhelmed her. The need to have him beside her was also her will to keep going. She could do anything if Chat Noir was there to support her.
Anything, but love him. Yet, that was exactly what she was doing. She loved him more than she could bear.
Chat Noir was gentle with her. He was patient. He gladly endured the clawing at his back, and the unbearably tight hug. He knew all too well the emotion that flooded those actions. Gabriel never knew, but Adrien saw him do the same thing to Emilie the last night Adrien saw them together. There was a pain and pleading in such an embrace. A pleading for the other to just stay with them, and Chat Noir could never deny his lady. So he stayed.
He rocked her. He played with her hair. He whispered reassurances in her ear. He let her weep. He took her pain into his own chest as he wondered how he could ever scare her like that.
Eventually, she stilled. Her breaths became even again, and her grip loosened.
“I'm sorry, Chat Noir.”
“No. I'm sorry you carried this worry. It's okay, Ladybug. I promise you, it's okay.”
“But-”
“I get it. For the safety of the world, we can't be together. At least, not until we stop Shadowmoth.”
“Is it wrong that I'm more worried about your safety?”
A single tear spilled down Chat Noir's left cheek. “No, Bugaboo, it's really sweet.” He pulled her close, and kissed the top of her head.
“This isn't fair.”
“I know.”
“I don't know how I can do this. How do I stop loving you now that I do?”
“I'll just have to stop being so charming, I guess.” He gave a goofy, cockeyed grin and a shrug. “Won't be easy, but I'll try my best.”
Ladybug let out a soft, sad little giggle. “You could always go back to punning more.”
“Hey! My puns are paw-some! You just haven't learned how to a-purr-eciate them.”
“Yup. Feel myself falling out of love already.” Ladybug nuzzled against Chat Noir's chest.
“In that case, m'lady, do you mind?” He leaned back in to catch her eyes, his own half-lidded and longing. “Before you fall completely out of love with me?”
Her heart fluttered. He always knew how to cheer her up when she was at her lowest. She closed her eyes and leaned towards his mouth, craving its gentle touch.
His left hand interlaced with her right, and his right hand wrapped around to her back to help pull her in. The warmth of his sigh hit her lips a split second before he did. His soft lips gently reaching out for hers. It was a simple, chaste, close-mouthed kiss, but there was still unquestioning passion behind it. Heat still shot through both of them, and an indescribable ache still pulsed in both of their chests. Their woven fingers gripped tighter, begging to not have to separate.
It was bittersweet; knowing that they finally had something they both wanted so desperately, only for it to possibly be their last kiss as well.
At least this time, they would both remember it.

20 Questions: Writer’s Edition
thanks for the tag @carpisuns!! (Mayrssa my friend maryssa <3)
How many works do you have on AO3?
145
What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,369,437 (I have been posting since 2011)
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
6 (plus a few misc crossovers). Undertale, Deltarune, Kingdom Hearts, Miraculous Ladybug, ATLA, and Danny Phantom are the big ones
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Your Kitty
Charcoal Lines
Two Hundred and Fifty-Four
The Wrong Balcony
A Secret Worth Keeping
Most of these are marichat lol and all of them are ML. Probably helps that ML is a fandom that's still very active, but also ML fans tend to be much better about leaving comments/kudos overall from what I've seen. I appreciate it :)
(also gonna put the rest under a cut)
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
yeah!! I'm not always fast but comments always make my day and I want people to know that :D
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
The Undying, which is kind of a necessity for writing an aborted No Mercy (Undertale) fic. I still think it ended the best it could under the circumstances, but (not really a spoiler) Papyrus and Toriel are dead of course and there's no getting around that ;; So it's pretty bittersweet overall
OH WAIT I 100% forgot about Necromancy, which is a Danny Phantom fic where Sam dies in a ghost attack and comes back as a ghost herself. There's also a good amount of body horror in that one. I think it's still bittersweet, and I don't want to spoil the ending, but it's definitely a lot angstier than my other stuff.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics have happy endings so I'm not sure how to rank them haha. My ML fics in particular tend to have very good identity reveal outcomes
Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve written?
Very rarely but yeah. Tied between Kingdom Hearts/Megamind (Villain Capri-tiaSUN) and Kingdom Hearts/My Little Pony (Vanitas Does Not Like Ponies) lol. Coincidentally those both involve Vanitas
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yeah but usually it's dumb lol. My Vanqua fics (kingdom hearts ship) tend to get hate for being a rarepair and because im still a fool who posts to FFN (most of my old reviewers are still there). I've also had hate for making Vanitas ace before (it came up late in the fic after he was already in a relationship and people did not like that despite that being. literally what happened in my personal life LOL)
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
nope
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that I know of
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Some of my ML fics have been translated into russian! shout out to translaters you guys are the real ones
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Me and Winter share headcanons so much we're essentially cowriting Undertale stuff lol. Also she beta read a bit of Home Base and fixed it enough I counted her as a cowriter dslkf
I also cowrote Villain Capri-tiaSUN with @ma-tsu-the-male-goddess!
What’s your all time favourite ship?
Vanqua (Vanitas/Aqua kingdom hearts) my beloved. I've been writing them for almost 10 years now so yeah
What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I believe I will finish everything I currently have posted but First Dance, Second Chance is definitely the one that gets abandoned for the longest periods of time between updates oof
What’s your writing strengths?
Dialogue and making fics have angst and humor at the same time
What’s your writing weaknesses?
fight scenes. staying on task with one fic instead of jumping between a million wips. descriptions
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
only if it's specifically meant to not be understood by the narrating character. but even then it can be kind of annoying lol (I put Japanese lyrics in an Undertale fic before because Undyne was listening and had no idea what it meant dksfjs)
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Pokemon. None of those are on AO3 though and they were garbage anyway lol (I really liked N from Black & White). Pretty soon after was Kingdom Hearts
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
you would have me choose between my children I'm very attached to Cast a Shadow and its sequels even though it's by no means my best fic. (I started writing it in 2014 and it shows.) For ML it's probably The Wrong Balcony, and for Undertale I'll say... aaaaa I can't choose actually ;; Let's Do the Mortal Coil Shuffle is my comprehensive post-pacifist fic, so I'll go with that.

Day 27 - Secrets
Marinette let out yet another annoyed sigh, and Chat couldn’t help but ask as he wrapped his arms around her from behind, "All right, that's the third one. What's wrong purrincess?"
A softer sigh escaped her, "It's just," she turned around to face him, "I'm sick of Lila, Kitty. It's been nearly a month since you let everyone know you were dating someone, and Lila has been dropping hints for days that it's her."
He tried to smile, "Ignore her mon coeur."
"I can't!" She said frustratedly, "She is driving me crazy! I swear she is purposely doing it when I'm around, like she KNOWS something."
"Hey," he whispered lovingly, putting his hands on either side of her face, "we have been nothing but careful. There is no way she knows the truth. We went five months without saying anything, and no one was the wiser. Let her spout her lies,"
"But everyone believes her." She said, pulling his hands from her face, "You can see it in everyone's faces that they know what she is implying, and you should hear the things she says about you."
He rubbed the back of his neck, thinking back to all the things he had heard Lila saying. If truth be told, he was getting sick of it too. He wanted to try and be the bigger person, and just leave Lila to her lies, but seeing how upset his purrincess was, maybe it wasn't the right route to take anymore.
"I can only imagine." He relented, pulling her back into his arms and staring down into her beautiful bluebell eyes, "So, what do you want to do? I'm game for a little of this, or a little of that." He wiggled his eyebrows at her and she giggled, "Oh I'm sure if I set my Kitty after the rat, you'd have far too much fun."
"I do quite enjoy a game of chat and mouse." He said with a smirk, "but you're my favorite mouse to catch." He squeezed her closer and a light blush dusted her cheeks much to his delight.
She completely ignored the comment and told him, "Unless we flat out reveal our relationship, I really don't know what to do. She is a master manipulator, and she'll turn anything I say in her favor. I say anything, and by the time she's done, she'll even have ME convinced that you are dating her."
"Hmm," Chat mused, his eyes suddenly sparkling in mischief that instantly made her suspicious. She stared at him hard as a wide grin spread on his face, "I think I have an idea. It might be a bit risky, but we won't have to tell anyone anything."
She knew this probably wasn't a good idea, but asked anyways, "What's your plan?"
'They should be on their way to the bakery from Alya's any minute now. Have fun Kitty ;)' Marinette's text read, making him grin.
He stretched out of his comfortable position on the rooftop, getting to his feet and checking to make sure the small package was securely in his pocket. With the bait in hand, he started vaulting quickly across the rooftops.
Most people were going about their day, but he was glad that a few people noticed him. This was the one time he wanted eyes on him. This way, there were a few witnesses at least.
He found Alya's cinnamon scent, along with Nino's musky herb scent. They were close. He smiled wider, spotting them just across the street. He couldn't have asked for a better set up. He vaulted straight across their path, letting the small package drop directly in front of them.
Alya let out a small gasp in shock, instantly looking around. He jumped down instantly, feigning relief, "Oh thank god it didn't fall far." He picked up the small box and saw Alya's eyes widen in joy, "Chat Noir! This is yours?"
"Yeah, sorry about that." He said sheepishly.
Alya was already pulling her phone out of her pocket, Nino shaking his head, "No sweat man. It must be important."
Chat nodded, smiling down at the little box, "It is."
Alya had her phone pointed right at him, "What is it? A gift for your mystery girl?"
He smiles into the camera, "We can't hide anything from the great Ladyblogger, can we? Yes, it's an anniversary gift for my girlfriend. I would have hated to have lost it."
Alya's face lit up with the joy of the scoop, "Anniversary huh? One month? Three, a year?"
Chat smirked, "Now, now Ladyblogger, you know the rules. You don't get any details. I told you the truth about having a girlfriend, but that's all you get."
Nino chuckled at Alya's obvious disappointment, "You did promise you wouldn't pry Als."
"What's the harm in knowing how long they've been together?" Alya tried, but Chat shook a finger at her, "Tisk, tisk, fur shame Ladyblogger. No details means no details," he added it for good measure, "or Ladybug would have my tail."
Alya asked again the same thing she had the first time, "And, Ladybug is NOT your girlfriend?"
He sighed, "No, m'lady is the best, dearest friend I could ever ask for. I do love her, that will never, ever change, but she is NOT my girlfriend."
Alya looked just as disappointed as she had the first time, "Right. Ruin my LadyNoir ship why don't you."
He saw the smirk on her face and knew what was coming, "Since you won't give me details about her, maybe you'll give us a peek of her gift? I'm dying to know what it is."
Jackpot.
He held the small box protectively, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"What are the odds that I know her Chat Noir? There are thousands of people, of girls, in this city. Odds are, I'll never see, whatever it is, ever again." Alya tried, knowing that she would actually see whatever it was on Lila at school soon enough. Lila would be tickled to know that she had run into Chat Noir and knew what the gift was before her.
Chat looked at the box with a frown before looking up at her, "No recording."
Alya beamed, putting her phone away. He told them the second the phone is in her pocket, "You have to swear you won't say anything about this to anyone, at least until Monday morning. I want it to be a surprise."
Nino and Alya instantly agree to keep their silence, and he reluctantly opened the small box.
It's a ring, a white gold band that looks like a tiara. The middle of the tiara is heart shaped, and the small diamonds lining it don't overcrowd it. It was a simple design, but absolutely beautiful.
"Wow, that's legit dude." Nino told him, impressed, seeing the usually suave and confident black cat looking nervous, "You think so? You think she'll like it?"
"Without a doubt man." Nino said without a hint of hesitation.
Alya nodded, thinking that it was a little simple for Lila's usual style, but knew it was true anyways, "It's absolutely adorable. She is going to love it."
Chat gave them a bright smile, "Thanks." He lifted the ring out of the box, showing them the inside, "I even had it engraved for her."
There, etched into the white gold, was an elegant script that read 'My Purrincess'.
"Do you really call her that?" Alya asked, teasing.
Chat put the ring back in the box and nodded not the least bit embarrassed, "Every opurr-tunity I get." He told them again, "And you won't say anything right?"
They nodded again, "Not a word." "We'll keep your secret dude."
Chat gave them a quick, two-fingered salute before vaulting back up to the rooftops and disappearing as he headed for home. He landed in his room and pulled out his baton, texting her happily, 'The secret's been planted purrincess.'
It didn’t take long for her response to come through, 'Good job Kitty, now will you PLEASE tell me what the secret is?'
He laughed to himself, proud of all the secrets he was juggling at the moment, 'Tomorrow mon coeur. I promise.'
Monday morning, Adrien walked into school with a pep in his step. Not only had he managed to surprise his purrincess with the ring for their sixth month anniversary, but she had finally relented and asked to know who he was under the mask.
She had cried when she saw that it was him, which he'd panicked about initially before she explained that they were happy tears. They knew it was going to be a dangerous road going forward, but it was working out for the best. Adrien wasn't allowed to have a girlfriend at the moment, but there was nothing stopping Chat Noir from continuing to date her.
Marinette hadn't batted an eye when he told her that as Adrien, his father didn't want him to date anyone right now because of the brand. To his mild surprise, she actually thought their dating in secret would be for the better anyways. This way, they could date out of the spotlight, and not paint a bigger target on their backs for being together.
Lila’s too sweet voice immediately broke through his thoughts, "You sure you are okay Alya?"
He only looked around for a few seconds before seeing Lila walking towards the stairs with Alya who was frowning, "Yeah, everything is fine. You are sure you didn't see anyone special this weekend?"
Lila giggled, making him roll his eyes, "You know I can't tell you if I did or didn't."
He followed behind them at a safe distance, keeping his smirk to himself. He knew what Alya's problem was. There was no ring on Lila's finger.
"H-Hey Adrien. Good morning."
He turned instantly, smiling brightly as she walked up to him slowly, "Good morning Marinette."
They smiled secret smiles at each other before Marinette held out a small box to him, "Oh, I brought these for you."
He took the box as he told her softly, a slight blush on his cheeks, "You didn't have to do that." He opened the box and saw the small array of goodies. There were chocolate covered croissants, a couple of cheese danishes that he was sure weren't going to make it past the first hour if a certain kwami got a hold of them, and his favorite passionfruit macarons.
She said it somewhat teasing, "Well if you don't want them, I'm sure someone else,"
"NO!" He told her, holding the box to his chest, "I want them."
She giggled and leaned up, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek before whispering it, "I thought so Kitty."
He whispered back with a grin, "Careful purrincess, or someone might see."
She tapped his nose with a wink, "I know how to keep a secret. Trust me."
They laugh before heading upstairs together to class. As they took their seats, with Lila nowhere in sight, Alya told Marinette instantly, "Someone looks extremely happy this morning."
Nino snickered as Adrien pulled out a chocolate croissant, "Here too."
Adrien took a bite and melted against his seat, "Don't judge me Nino." Nino laughed anyways and turned to Marinette, "Where's the treats for everyone else?"
Marinette's response was instant, "You ate them all this weekend when you and Alya came over. Adrien didn't get any since he had that photoshoot."
Adrien nodded instantly, "Exactly! I missed out and deserve these."
The girls giggled, Marinette's right hand going to cover her mouth. The tiara ring twinkled beautifully in the light, and Adrien made his move as he saw Alya eyeing it in shock, "Hey, that's new, isn't it?"
Marinette blushed instantly, looking at the ring on her middle finger, "Oh, uh, yeah."
"Can I see?" He asked innocently. She held her hand out to him, Alya and Nino both leaning closer to get a better look. Adrien thumbed the ring lightly, the shocked exchange of looks between Nino and Alya didn't go unnoticed.
"Wh-Where'd you get that dudette?" Nino asked, trying not to sound nervous.
Lila walked into the room at that exact moment as Marinette answered, "Oh, someone special gave it to me last night as a surprise. It's pretty, don't you think?"
All three of them nodded, and Lila of course, stopped to add her opinion, "Wow, that is such a cute ring Marinette. It's simple, but perfect for you." She said it with a slight flair in her tone, "MY special kitten gave me a ring when we first started dating. I can't wear it out of course, it's so big I'm sure someone would try to steal it."
Adrien saw the slight scowls on Nino and Alya's faces, knowing that they knew now that Lila was lying. He asked them concerned, "Are you guys okay?"
They both instantly smiled, trying to act like nothing was wrong. He smiled at them, before turning back to Marinette, "Do you mind if I take a closer look at the ring?"
Marinette pulled it off and held it out to him. He started commenting on it out loud, making sure to keep Lila's face in his peripheral, "The band is white gold, not silver or a gold-plated overlay either. You can see the Maker's mark for 20 karat gold, which is the highest quality of white gold out there."
He smiled to himself, seeing Lila's face harden, "And the design is simple, sure, but elegant. The tiara is beautifully crafted and the way the heart is integrated into the design is genius."
He held it up to the light, the diamonds catching and sending small prisms everywhere, "The diamonds themselves are flawless and colorless, easily D quality, not one has a bit of cloud or yellow tinge. Based on how many there are, despite them being smaller, there is at least a carat and a half worth of diamonds here."
Lila looked like she was practically seething in jealousy now, and he brought the ring closer, adding it innocently, "Whoever gave this to you must love you immensely. Even the inside engraving of 'My Purrincess' is flawlessly done."
She took the ring back from him, putting it back on her finger quickly as she said it hushed, "You weren't supposed to see that."
He glanced at the others, seeing the surprise on their faces before he faked it himself, lowering his voice, "Purr-incess, that sounds a lot like, are you the one dating Chat Noir Marinette?"
Marinette blushed heavily but didn't say anything to confirm or deny it. Lila stormed off towards her seat without another word, Alya asking her again, "Are you?"
Marinette smiled at her, saying it calmly, "My boyfriend just has a thing for cat puns, that's all."
Adrien grinned at her comment, giving her a small wink as Nino and Alya held knowing stares.
Marinette grinned happily, knowing that his plan had worked, and glad that their secrets were working out after all.

Note
I'm shocked that Mari doesn't get salted much considering she is the protagonist, and even if she is, it's always just a simple call out, a critics on her behavior. whereas whenever I saw Adrien or Alya salt, it's always being upped to eleven. It's not a simple call out or critics, they just being sent straight to punishment, deemed unworthy of forgiveness. I think the closest fic I've read that have Mari "salt fic" vibe is Truth and Consequence but it's not even salt fic. Curious since usually it's the protagonist that got salted a lot, not the deuteragonist or minor character.
She definitely gets salted in posts and comments and things, though I don’t see it that much on tumblr (not exactly something I go looking for though). But on reddit, instagram, youtube even I think? People have some pretty negative opinions about her.
As far as fanfics go... yeah I’ve seen only like, maybe ten total saltfics for Marinette on AO3 in the year and a half I’ve been in this fandom. And most of the ones I have seen don’t go as bonkers as the Adrien salt and Alya salt does on a regular basis. Heck, even the page on TvTropes for Fandom-Specific plots does not, as far as I can tell, list a single example of a Marinette saltfic plot.
I have been told that there were fanfics out there that treated her vilely in the past, even one popular one, as well as several fanfics that just made her kinda powerless while in the Marichat dynamic. I have not been able to verify this for myself however, though I have attempted it.
There certainly ARE a few very loud people on AO3 who hate Marinette’s guts, but they don’t tend to write a ton, and those sorts of stories aren’t very popular. When I was entering the fandom back in March 2019, I went through the top... 1000 fics I think on AO3? And only stumbled across maybe one or two that salted on Marinette, and even those it wasn’t like she was treated as irredeemable or punished beyond just being yelled at.
I’ve heard that part of the reason why Chameleon salt initially took off the way it did was because Marinette was salted (in comments and posts at least) by a lot of the fandom for a long time, and it was really mostly her that bore the brunt of it, rather than a ton of different characters. Then when Chameleon released a lot of people became very sympathetic to her, so it was a sort of backlash against the years of general dislike against her.
And theeeeen people took it way, way, WAY too far in ways that were absolutely disgusting, projecting the most heinous things onto the other characters (seriously where the hell did this notion come from that Alya would beat up or poison Marinette and destroy her things?! I haven’t even seen much justification for it beyond “well if she continues along this path this is an obvious conclusion of the sort of thing she’d do”, without anything to back that up.) and even making Marinette, whom the saltfics try to boost up, act in ways that frankly, made her a pretty despicable person in a lot of them, only somewhat mitigated by making everyone around her even worse. Though sometimes the fics don’t even do that and just have her like, abuse her power as class rep so she can get satisfaction out of setting it up so Adrien’s in close proximity to Lila as often as possible and delight in watching her sexually harass him, or try to get everyone arrested or fired or just generally take pleasure inflicting pain and suffering on her former friends while crowing about how they deserve it.
I reaaaaally don’t like Saltinette. Marinette wouldn’t either.
As for why Marinette bashing fics, the ones that go to the same extent as many of the saltfic plots that TvTropes lists, aren’t as popular (again, at least on AO3, though looking at FFN and Wattpad they didn’t seem super popular on there either. And PLEASE, if you want to direct me to where they’re popular, PLEASE don’t just say “they’re on this site”. I’ve gone to Wattpad and FFN. I’ve just found more of the saltfics TvTropes lists, not Marinette saltfics), I dunno. Demographics I guess? Maybe the people who hate Marinette’s guts aren’t as likely to read or write fanfics. Even the Marinette bashing fics I HAVE seen aren’t all that popular.
On the one hand, I’m glad she isn’t as often treated in as gross a manner in fanfics as Adrien, Alya, most of the class, a LOT of people in the show have been for the past... nearly two years now.
On the other hand, it’s easy for me to resent her with how almost all of this bashing is supposedly done for HER sake, often while making her into a horrible human being along the way.
I basically can only go to AO3 with filters on for the usual bashing tags, like “Adrien bashing”, “Alya bashing”, “Classmates bashing” and “Marinette Deserves Better” (and yes that is a bashing tag, if it’s used you can be pretty damn sure someone in that fic’s being bashed on Marinette’s behalf, and probably not only canonical antagonists).
Generally after that I have to rewatch some of Miraculous Ladybug or read some fics where everyone’s in-character to get the bad taste out of my mouth. Because in the show? it’s not like this. Not at all. Marinette can have a bad day sometimes, but it’s just the sort of bad day typical people might experience. She can be upset or unfair or petty, but at normal person - especially normal kid - levels. Sometimes she’s scolded, sometimes bad things happen as a consequence, but she’s never treated as some piece of scum. If she’s upset, her friends and family are there for her.
And Alya and Adrien? Sometimes they can be careless about what they do or say and irritate her. Sometimes their words or actions aren’t as helpful as they want them to be.
But they don’t want to hurt her, they care for her, ABOUT her. Nor would she ever want to hurt them or lose them, even if she was justifiably angry with them. We saw that with Chat Noir especially, during the NY special.
Marinette loves and cares about her friends and family, and they love and care for her back.
At least I can be pretty sure that whatever insane bashing and twisting of characters happens in the fandom, the show will continue to be nice to the characters, to treat them as people deserving of love and affection. Maybe saying they made a mistake when they didn’t, or letting stuff slide that would be nice to be addressed, but on the whole, allowing them to continue to just... be friends. Be people. Be kids.

Truth, Lies, And Everything In-Between (Miraculous S4 Story)
SEASON 4 (Truth and Lies episodes) SPOILERS:
After Kagami broke up with him, Adrien feels like he needs to do something to clear his head... so he puts his ears on and runs, wherever his feet lead him.
After Luka broke up with her, Marinette feels the weight of the world on her shoulders... so she goes up to her balcony to think.
As usual, they meet up and get to talking... but not much else on this night seems usual.
One-shot.  A bit of MariChat sweetness.
Truth, Lies and Everything In-Between on FFN/AO3
A teaser:
A troubled young man dashed and leapt across the rooftops of central Paris.
When life proved troublesome for him, when good intentions led to bad resolutions, when doing the right thing led to the world kicking him in the groin anyway... there was a certain relief in action for action's sake.
He couldn't will an Akuma fight into existence... and despite his recent encouragement of such (of which he didn't feel particularly proud), he knew that he shouldn't... so there were no ten-meter babygolems or howling banshees or floating violet mothstrocities for him to punch and kick and vent his frustrations upon.
But he could run. By God, he could run until his lungs burned, and with the aid of his faithful Kwami, he could run in ways and places that few others could.
There were time limits on his freedom, of course; he didn't want anyone noting his absence around the mansion, and he'd want to dash through the shower once he got home, lest his father's assistant wonder how he broke a raging sweat while studying Chinese grammar rules.
He paused to catch his breath on a familiar-looking rooftop. The nature of his powers made it very difficult for him to reach that desired state of exhaustion, that full-body ache that could temporarily quiet his brain and his emotions. He did have limits, however... and on nights like this, he managed to reach them. Walking in slow circles to regather his composure, he looked out over the edge of the roof at the city, and noted where he was... and at whom was visibly close at hand, perhaps two leaps away from where he stood.
Chat Noir laughed quietly to himself. Of course, he smiled. Even when I'm not consciously intending it, whenever I feel down and need some friendly company... look where my feet lead me.

picture me (just like this) - Chapter 2/2
Still for @lnc2 (I know it's no longer strictly Marichat, but I don't think you mind some Ladynoir). :D
AO3 + FFN
Summary: Chat Noir’s finished Ladybug’s gift.
She didn't forget about the photos.
(Or what they meant to him.)
Chat Noir on his part hadn't uttered a single word about the project or any plans for a gift exchange to Ladybug—unlike his usual M.O. of telling her anything and everything under the sun that didn't possibly have to do with identities—so she easily deduced that it was indeed supposed to be a top-secret surprise for herself. Of course, that wasn't exactly a possibility at this point. (Not that Chat had to know such.)
He did, however, try and show Marinette the finished product, and whilst it was extremely tempting to agree, she'd forced herself to impose some sense of curtailment on her eagerness in the end. So instead, she'd insisted on waiting until Ladybug saw it, as it would be more special and intimate for her to be the first one to see it before anyone else. She'd figured she already technically ruined her own surprise, so the least she could do was wait and keep as much suspense as she could—even if there was a desperate desire to just sneak a little peek.
(But he'd sounded so giddy over the phone about it; so she could be patient for him.)
That didn't mean she arrived to patrols without bated breath and searching eyes. According to Tikki, her patience sucked.
Eventually, he showed up one evening with the precious little cargo tucked underneath one arm, and she had to contain the urge to squeal and make grabby-hands.
"What's that?" she blurted as his boots touched the rooftop.
According to Tikki, her acting skills sucked too.
Chat made a show of glancing down confusedly. "You mean this?" He gave it a little shake.
"Yeah, is it a gift?"
Tikki may have been somewhat right.
Chat didn't seem to notice though. "Maybe. Maybe not," he wheedled, rocking on his heels.
"Well, it sure looks like a gift to me," she huffed, impatiently crossing her arms.
"Somebody is the curious cat tonight."
"And unlike you, I deserve my satisfaction," she sniffed primly.
"And someone's not going to deserve her gift instead," he taunted.
"Told you!" she grinned, putting forth her hands expectantly.
"You did not!" he retorted, yanking back the present against his chest. "You were just being nosy."
"Was not."
"Were too."
"I don't see how I was being nosy when it's my present."
"But you didn't know that at first."
She scowled. "I had a feeling."
"How?" he pouted.
"Uhh," she stammered. "Well, who else would you be carrying a gift for?"
"Ah ah ah, I think," Chat declared, hiding the present from her line of sight behind his back, "you just don't want to admit you like my presents. And didn't want this to be for anybody else."
"Pffft," she scoffed, waving a hand, "sure, the diamond earrings and Chanel bag were some nice momentos, but they're a little flashy."
And extremely expensive. And the nicest things she owned that had to stay tucked away in her closet because he refused any of her vetoes, and she couldn't be seen with them without raised eyebrows and questions; but she did admire them from time to time. They were sweet gifts nonetheless.
"Alas, she has specific taste," Chat said, inching the gift back out into view.
Her eyes automatically followed the movement of it. "Please," she blinked very kindly up at him.
He sighed. "Who am I to resist the wiles of my Lady." He dropped the gift into her hands with a flourish.
She grinned triumphantly, appraising the book-shaped object covered in her favorite shade of pink and black polka dotted wrapping paper, topped off with a cute little white bow in the middle.
"I will warn you," Chat informed, astoundingly shy all of the sudden, "it's no diamonds or Versace; in fact, I sort of made it, so it's definitely nothing amazing—"
"Don't be silly—I bet it's one of your best gifts yet," she winked, slipping a finger under one of the folds on the backside.
She was pretty sure it could look like a three-year old did it and she would love it still.
Encased in the wrapping was a simple black leather book with the title Adventures of LB and CN and a yin and yang symbol in the corner.
"Uh, I actually was able to commission Nathaniel to do a little edit of the yin and yang symbol to fit our themes...since, you know, we're like yin and yang?"
She nodded, smiling as she softly grazed a finger over the area.
Flipping open the book, there was the dedication on the first page:
For My Lady, My Partner, My Best Friend
She was certain her cheeks couldn't stretch any further.
The first few photos were definitely from the beginning of their partnership. Like their first fist bump, first pose for the press, and one of their first selfies even—they all were lined against the pages, showcasing the novelty and surrealness that encompassed the first couple of weeks. She shook her head in amazement. Even as it felt so long ago, it was as if it were just yesterday she opened that little box of change and responsibility.
It was clear as she continued that Chat had arranged them in a linear-timeline, as the photos became newer and more comfortable. The photos he had first shown her that night in her room were peppered amongst others she noted, and there were quite a few more photos in between. If she were more courageous and self-disciplined, she would ask him to tell her what they meant to him again. And if she were honest enough with herself, she really wanted him to answer the same way he had that night, just so she could see that sparkle in his eye again—honest, hopeful, yearning, all in a way that made her feel warm and funny inside. He'd talk all night if she'd ask, and she would sit beside him and listen just because she could.
By the time she was about halfway through, more photos including other members of the team started popping up. Viperion and Pegasus posing ridiculously back-to-back, Carapace atop Chat's shoulders, Rena pranking Kim with an illusion, there was even a picture of Queen Bee cracking a reluctant grin and peace sign—they all were moments that somehow got captured. Some of the group photos had little descriptions underneath or beside the photos, like, "Goofing around with our buddies—the gargoyles," or "Ice cream and hang with the gang." Some were left by themselves, with little decals matching their respective kwami-animal theme sprinkled throughout.
"I actually got some of these photos from them," Chat said as she landed on a selfie of Viperion and Ryuko. "I mentioned to Rena what I was doing, so she offered to have herself and the others send some photos as a contribution."
If anything, the thought of her team each pitching in some of their own photos was even more touching, and her cheeks were already aching from all the smiling she was doing.
"That was nice of them."
It truly surprised her—the amount of pictures that had been taken and printed so she could relive them all, each photo recalling each moment with clarity and affection.
But to finish it off, at the very end was a photo of her and Chat sitting on a rooftop, her head on his shoulder and their backs to the camera as the sun set; two figures against the fevered oranges and yellows of the sky, side by side. Underneath read—
Ladybug,
No matter what happens, I hope you can look back upon this with fond memories and remember some of the best times. Because my best times are when I'm with you. So here's to all the memories—even good and bad—and many more that will stand the end of time, just like us. You and me, against the world.
Your Partner, Chat Noir
By the time she got to the ending line, it was becoming too blurry. She swiped a knuckle under her eye, not wanting to risk a single teardrop lest it mar the precious page.
"Oh my god, you're crying! I messed up, didn't I— I'm sorry, this—"
She effectively cut off his rambling worries as she threw her arms around him, hugging him fiercely. "You didn't mess up a thing. I love this."
"You do?"
She fervently nodded her head against his shoulder as she laughed, the ends of his hair at the nape of his neck tickling her cheek. "I do. This is amazing."
"On par with Versace?"
"Better," she corrected, running a hand over the front cover reverently. "This is the best gift ever, Chat." She already knew its rightful place where it belonged; nestled in between the two dried roses in the box tucked in the secret corner of her closet.
He grinned, looking simultaneously shy and pleased as he stood before her. "Well, I thought you could use something that'd bring a smile to your face."
'And—and she just looked so happy, so carefree, standing under her umbrella in the rain with a smile that could turn any cloud in the sky away as she explained. I couldn't help but take a photo, because I knew then that as long as I know her, I'd always try to get her to look like that. Happy.'
"You make me happy."
The words slipped past her lips, unbidden, honest, and completely unchecked; but she wouldn't take back the words for anything.
"I do?" he blinked, voice colored with surprise and wonder, as if any foresight to insert the usual flair of charismatic self-assuredness into his tone disappeared.
And maybe, that was why it only felt right to be honest: "Of course! I—I may not say it often enough...but you're my partner. My best friend. You've always made me happy."
Because when he'd noticed she was feeling down, he'd taken the time and effort to make something special for her, just to try and cheer her up. And sometimes, she really wondered why she drew that line for herself, and when it had become so blurred. Especially when he looked at her like that as she held what she knew was going to be one of her most treasured possessions for the rest of her life.
It turned out she didn't have to ask again. "It goes both ways, My Lady; you make me the happiest Chat around." It was said with earnest veracity—the same veracity he'd wielded when talking about her on her chaise that night—eyes sparkling and honest, his smile hopeful and yearning. A photo wasn't necessary when her brain already committed that look to her memory.
She stepped forward. "Well," she said, before stretching onto tiptoes so her lips could meet the smooth curve of his right cheek. "Thank you again, Chat Noir. I'll cherish this forever." She pulled back, the tips of their noses barely grazing— "And the book."
Smiling, she launched off the rooftop, a blushing open-mouthed Chat Noir in her wake. As she landed on the facing building, she slid her yo-yo open and pressed the camera icon, giggling as the yo-yo audibly clicked.
This was definitely a memory for the books.

“Miaw I Have Your Chattention, Please~?”
The title is all your faults you filthy little shits I hate you both >:( @ultrakart @sereiaamy
AO3 / FFN
Pairing - Marichat
Prompt - ‘Chat Noir the attention Whore’
Summary -
There was his Lady, sewing away on the rattling machine and annotating her (absolutely GORGEOUS) designs and piecing together fabric scraps at the same time on her messy, cluttered desk, all whilst neglecting his cute, adorable self. HIM. Her CHATON. Absolutely, incredibly, stupendously ridiculous!!!
.
He entertained the idea of casually dropping his transformation right here and there just to see her reaction but honestly, she'd probably (definitely) boot him out of the window by reflex whilst screaming like the queen of banshees and he would end up as an unattractive splat against the dirty, Parisian floor.
Siiiiiigh.
Screw Le Papillon for getting in between a double reveal between him and his Lady.
Screw his sudden shyness as Adrien to ask Marinette out on a date.
And screw that damn sewing machine that came in between him and his Lady's affections!!!
.
So he did what was absolutely, definitely and most wonderfully the most mature thing one could ever do.
~(x)~ . . . Chat Noir was bored. . THUNK. Immediately, Marinette stopped what she was doing and twirled around from her seat, only to see a roll of thick fabric on her bedroom floor instead of against the wall like it was previously two seconds ago and her attention-seeker of a partner whistling away 'innocently' whilst twirling his belt tail with one hand. She directed a heated glare at the feline hero but she only received pleading kitten eyes in return without an ounce of apologeticness. "Pay attention to me~!" He whined pathetically, the pupils in his eyes blown wide open and his form now literally millimetres away from hers (personal space thrown out of the window). Thankfully for the talented designer, she was now quite immune to his shenanigans and childish schemes thanks to the constant times she's dealt with them as Ladybug in and out of battles. Rolling her eyes (a little more fondly than she'd ever admit), she lightly pinched the boy's nose, earning an offended "MEW!?" from him and continued to narrow her eyes even further. "Cause any more trouble for me again and I'll drag your sorry butt onto the balcony, out in the rain and leave you there. You can yowl and cry all you want but I'll be wearing my noise-cancelling headphones. Wouldn't want that, would you?" . Dammit, all he wanted was some love and affection! And no way in hell was he planning on giving up!!! ~(x)~ Chat Noir couldn't believe his umpteenth plan failed. . And by failed he means FAILED. With a capital F and marked in bright red on his forehead. Whilst he brooded over his comical failure, Marinette continued to do her work as if he wasn't hopelessly glaring at her on her lap. Literally. He was sitting on her lap, towering over her frame, in her face which was supposed to be a foolproof plan to get her to notice him and finally give him the attention he craved. Instead, she simply just nudged him to the side with one hand and carried on working! All whilst he was perched on her lap! No word, no acknowledgement, nothing! "Marine-eeeeeette..." He whined for the millionth time, gently resting his head on hers like his namesake. "You can't ignore me forever...love me~!" Finally, his busy partner paused what she was doing and faced the needy hero with a cocked (and very, VERY attractive) eyebrow, an amused smile resting on her pretty pink lips. "I literally cuddled with you on my chaise less than three minutes ago. And in that span of time, you knocked over three rolls of fabric, got your teeth stuck on a cardboard box and tangled up in a yarn of wool. How are you so needy?" The only response she got from her silly Chaton was him bumping his head against hers again, peering at her with his emerald greens and wrapping his arms around her. "You are so troublesome." "I just love you so much~♡" He retorted innocently, spying the redness that bloomed on her cheeks. "What will it take for at least an hour without you trying to get my attention?" Marinette huffed in defeat and then her expression quickly turned into pure regret when she spotted a cheeky little glimmer in his eyes. . "Kisses. Lots and lots of kisses on the lips~" His long tail was now waggling behind him in a manner that was identical to a little, mischievous kitten ready to pounce on its prey and all that Marinette could do was internally facepalm for digging such a deep hole for herself. Damn Chat Noir and his stupid cat tendencies and the fact that he made home with at least fifty percent of her heart! (Or was it fifty-four...? Sixty-two? She didn't want to dwell on that fact any longer). . Before Chat Noir could even blink, he found himself effortlessly pushed down onto the floor in an instant, a surprised mew escaping his lips until his brain finally caught up with what was going on. Meanwhile, his Princesse stared down at him with those electric baby blues, straddling his hips and her soft hands placed on his chest just over his pounding heart. It began to beat so much faster than ever as she trailed one of her dainty fingers on his cheek and leaned her face down. Closer. And closer. And closer. He fluttered his eyes shut and excitedly pursed his lips, so eager and yet so nervous to finally (finally) get a kiss he'd both remember and enjoy from the love of his life- "MIIIAAAU!?!?" Chat Noir jumped out from under her with an outstanding yelp and bounced against the bedroom walls just like his namesake before landing on the bed up the loft and covering his now sore lips. He glared at the cackling girl below, his eyes slightly watering with both pain and immense embarrassment and then he grumbled. "You! You bit me! Pourquoi!?" Much to his dismay, she continued to laugh like a drunk hyena, tears of joy now running down her reddening face as she gasped for breath. Why oh why does he always get the short end of the deal!? "Chat Noir? Chaton? Oh, mon Chaton~ are you too scared to come back down?" Marinette giggled at the kitten glower her partner blasted at her from her bed as she made her way towards him. By the time she sat down next to the boy, she noted that his glare was now much softer and his pout even more pitiful. His faux ears were lowered against his golden locks and his feline emeralds stared hopelessly at her dewy lips. Oh, man. Now she was starting to feel a little guilty. "Marinette...my lips hurt now." He went back to narrowing his eyes at her, tail snapping against the bed when her mouth turned into a small grin. "Do something about it." He was nothing but persistent, determined to get that kiss he's been dying to have ever since they first met. Luckily for him, she's just about madly in love with her Chat Noir too. Marinette crept closer to him, cheeks now pink in hue from the proximity this time around as she readied herself. Unlike all those other times she's kissed him, there's no Akuma around, no spells to break and no one to witness the scene (plus, Tikki was sound asleep). Using what was left of her courage and bravado, she beckoned her Minou to make the first move. "Come," She murmured softly, eyes fluttered closed with long lashes shadowing soft cheekbones and pretty sakura lips parted ever so slightly. On one hand, Chat Noir wanted to immediately pounce on his Lady and kiss her senseless with all of his pent-up feelings and indescribable emotions with all the passion in the world. On the other hand, he wanted to savour this moment as if this was the last drop of water in the middle of the most deadliest and brutal desert. He tenderly pulled her closer to him by the waist, sitting her on his lap so that he didn't have to bend down too far to reach her face. Chat Noir anxiously tucked a strand of hair behind her reddening ear and trailed his gloved, trembling fingers down her cheeks until his thumb rested on her lips. Marinette couldn't help but shiver and open her eyes, both jittery and impatient with how much time he was taking. Though, the nervousness dissipated within her just by looking at the sheer rawness of his feelings in his eyes. Once more, Chat Noir closed his eyes and ventured closer, making her follow suit. . Neither were able to tell whether it was their hot, shuddering breath or whether it was actually the first, sweet contact of each others' lips that sent a delicious fire coursing through their veins. Chat Noir feathered his lips against hers, each press becoming firmer and firmer than the last. Overwhelmed by the extraordinary (and wonderful) feelings alone, Marinette was about to pull away from his mouth only for one of his hands to desperately clasp the back of her neck and for him to really start kissing her. It was fire. It was clumsy. It was wet. But it felt so good. Chat Noir lost count of how many times he captured her delectable lips, making sure to kiss off every last bit of her gloss, smearing it all over his mouth and capturing all of her divine sounds of pleasure. His clawed fingers were tangled up in her midnight hair as they both lay on the bed, facing each other. They couldn't help but experiment. See how much he could taste her with his tongue. See how far she could tug on his bottom lip with her teeth. It was both a surreal yet heavenly experience and neither couldn't think of anything else they wanted to do more than have their mouths meet again and again and again. "Will all of this finally keep you at bay as I work?" Marinette panted against his warm cheek, her arms hanging around his neck loosely. She was met with a few more slow kisses, his legs tangled with hers and his mouth now resting on her sensitive jaw. "Why work when you can just stay here with me like this?" He husked quietly, his vulnerabilities on full display and his heart now in her palms again. . He got his answer with another sweet, sweet kiss. . . . ~(x)~

Hey girl! For your "Ask about WIPs" game, I'm interested in "I Don't Care" and/or "Seduce with Caution." Hope you're well, stay safe!!
Hey right back! I am doing well. Hope the same for you and yours.
[WIP tag game: my list]
Ya know what, no one else has played yet, so I'll go ahead and indulge. 😀
I Don't Care
This story actually started life as a "tumblr exclusive" one-shot called Stranger in a White Dress (published here May 2018). It was actually one of the first fanfics I posted to Tumblr. It was inspired by the song "Play Me Like a Violin" by Stephen (*warning: the music video has flashing bits, so those with photosensitivity, please be careful if you watch instead of just listen).
I don't know why specifically I latched onto Gabriel Agreste and Emilie Graham de Vanily, but it seemed appropriate somehow. The story was them having a meet cute in college. Emilie would have blown into Gabriel's life for a few minutes, stole a kiss unexpectedly, and then blew back out of his life just as abruptly.
The story stayed like that for quite some time. Then, August 2019, I heard the acoustic version of Ed Sheeran's song "I Don't Care". At first blush, the song sounded like something my husband would sing, but the more I listened the more I realized it could be Gabriel singing about/to Emilie. This song was kind of the theme of the Agrestes' relationship, in my opinion. Hence stealing the song title for the story's title. I took the first verse about being at a party, and continued my story. Gabriel was dragged to a party by his flatmate, and Emilie coincidentally was there. The two reconnected, and Gabriel turned a one-time chance encounter at a club into a potential relationship.
I'm not entirely sure where else to go with this story, aside from knowing I want it to be the love story between these two. Possibly ending with Adrien's birth. Possibly continuing until Emilie's "disappearance." Not sure which yet. However, this whole story is a bit of a slow process while I wait for inspiration to strike again, mostly by way of new music. I have been a touch obsessed for the past year with the songs "2AM" by MK (feat Carla Monroe) and "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur as a back and forth between Emilie and Gabriel respectively (the fact that "2AM" has a female vocalist and "Say You Won't Let Go" has a male vocalist just makes it all the better). The only snafu there is that this would be a chapter about them drinking too much while out, and/or Emilie drunk calling Gabriel and asking for him to spend the night with her. As spontaneous as I like making Emilie, it seems a bit abrupt considering where their relationship stands at the end of the 2nd chapter. So I want to come up with a buffer one showing their first official date as my 3rd chapter. I'm just not sure what said date should look like yet. Thus this WIP sits in waiting.
If you want to read the first two chapters, you can find them over on AO3, FFN, or DA.
Seduce with Caution
This one is actually my current WIP. It's also my first foray into Miraculous Ladybug smut (aged-up, of course).
For some reason, August brings out the smut in me (is it the warm weather?), and I've written other smutty fics during that month in the past. Most have never seen the light of day. I've written a couple using the X-Men OCs created for my husband's play-by-post role-play game. I've written one using my D&D character and one of her partymates. The only smut I've officially published though was my interpretation of a handwaved sex scene in the book Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore (mostly because the series was fairly unknown and that book had been published 7 years prior, so I figured not many would even find my smut).
I have never tried ML smut before though, despite enjoying a lot of the ones I've found. I just couldn't get past the mental image of the Love Square as 14-year-olds.
Last year, however, while reading Dressed to Confess by @zenmisery , she had a bit where Chat Noir's costume acted as a bit of a magical chastity belt. For some reason, that gave me this fantastic concept for a MariChat sex scene. I started working on it, but I realized that it seemed too abrupt of an interaction between these two characters without also having the story be post-reveal and the two of them being in a relationship. The concept, though, would have been how MariChat could spend a night together without Marinette finding out who Chat Noir is under the mask first. The whole premise crumbles if they're already in a relationship and/or it's post-reveal.
I just couldn't get the balance right, and so I abandoned the story. Right around December, I tried again by backtracking a touch to include the seduction and foreplay leading into the sex scene. That too seemed a bit left-field. It felt like glorious crack, and I was tempted to just run with it because crack is a fantastic story "genre" but I... just can't find it within myself to do so. So the story was abandoned again.
This past August I revisited the story once more. After 3 or 4 false starts, I tried backing up even further with my story's starting point. Now this story has become a slow-burn, sexual tension, blushfest. There's implied masturbation, and later chapters will include make-out sessions with heavy petting, but the actual true-blue smut won't show up until the final chapter or so. So my "Porn without Plot" has become "so much pining with a sprinkle of smut thrown in for flavor". 😅
I still don't have a concrete story figured out, but the working summary is: "While 19yo Chat Noir tries to demonstrate to Marinette his new 'moves' to try to win Ladybug over, he accidentally seduces Marinette. Now she has to come to terms with the knowledge that she finds him sexy and highly desirable, all while still holding a flame for Adrien. Meanwhile, Adrien has to wrestle with the knowledge that he found Marinette getting hot and bothered over him a major turn-on. Chaos ensues."
Considering it kept me over a year to write just the first chapter (but only 3 days to write the second one), I want this story complete before unleashing it onto the world. I also need to build up the confidence to let the rest of the fandom read my first ever MariChat smut soooooooooooooooooo..........
ANYWAY, yup. That's what's up with I Don't Care and Seduce with Caution.
A romance story between young Gabriel and Emilie where I humanize Gabriel....
And a slow-burn MariChat smut story that will only really include anything explicit in the last chapter or so.
Thanks so much for the ask! This was fun. Feel free to ask me more!
I've also talked about my original WIP Glitches here, here, and here, as well as talk about my other Gabriel-humanizing project When Love Matters here.

Fictober, Day 8
Pairing: Marichat
FFN, AO3
Day 8: "Can you stay?"
"Ready?" Chat says.
Marinette nods.
He throws the bit of chocolate, which she tries to catch with her mouth. It bounces off her nose. She groans as he erupts into laughter and punches his fist to the air.
"Yes!" he crows. "I win!"
"Best of ten."
"No way. Just face it. I'm the champion."
She folds her arms and pouts. "I'm sure you're cheating. You're not even aiming for my mouth, are you?"
"I would never. Besides, it's no fun to win if you only win by cheating."
"Yeah, yeah." She chucks a chocolate at him, hitting him in the forehead. "Here's your prize."
"Throwing chocolate at my head was not the agreed pri—"
She pelts another chocolate at him, then another and another. His eyes narrow. Her lips curve.
"Don't you dare," he says as she reaches for the box of chocolates.
"Or what?"
His tail swishes and flicks behind him. Biting back a grin, she does not break eye contact as she closes her fingers around the last chocolate and launches it at him.
"That's it!" he exclaims.
He pounces on her like a cat. She giggles and tries to squirm free, but he's much stronger. It's easy for him to pin her down against her bed. Smugness gleams in his eyes. His hair tickles her face. That's when it hits like lightning—an inexplicable hyperawareness of all the points of contact between their bodies. Her pulse quickens, fluttery heat unfurling and coiling in the pit of her stomach. Judging by the startled shift in his expression and the light flush spilling out from under his mask, she wasn't the only one struck.
"I …" He audibly swallows and gets off her. "I should go now. It's late."
"Wait."
She catches his hand. Shyness sticks her tongue, but her eyes ask him the question that thrums through her.
Can you stay?
A shaky breath escapes him. His gaze flickers from her eyes to her lips and then back again.
Her heartbeat stutters.
"Chat …" She tugs on his hand, shifting onto her knees.
He doesn't pull away. It's like he's spellbound. Or maybe she's the one spellbound. His eyes are so, so green, and the heady warmth of him is like an invisible caress whispering for her to come closer. The stutters turn to pounding drums in her chest, and she holds his gaze as she leans in, pausing when their lips are almost touching. Their breath intermingles.
He closes the gap.
Soft. His lips are surprisingly soft. The kiss is the barest brush of contact, light like the caress of a feather. When he pulls back, her face feels warm and her body even warmer. Their eyes meet—a held breath, a hush of a million questions and a million yesses. Then they're kissing again, hands reaching for each other and bodies pressing closer, closer, closer.
It's like she's drowning and trying to get oxygen. Like she's a dessert and he's offering her a hundred years of missed rain. She drinks him in, shares his breath, tastes the chocolate lingering on his tongue and lips.
She kisses and kisses and kisses him until everything in her becomes a pulsing beat of fire and thunder.
"Marinette," he breathes into her lips.
Her heart sings and she pulls him in closer. They are no longer awkward fourteen year olds after all. She is definitely not letting him escape from her now.
