This is a bit of an old post of yours but I saw @/thisismisogynoir reblog it and i just wanted to say: your post about ppl being way too comfortable associating underaged characters with sexual stuff put what i've been thinking for the longest time into words. That stuff genuinely makes me SO uncomfortable yet almost no one around me understands. Its so disgusting how often underage characters are sexualized in fandom spaces and the worst part is, it starts with grown ass pedo adults doing it then it SPREADS to most of the KIDS in the fandom who then see that behavior as normal!!

It's particularly sickening for me since i come from a culture where "childhood" lasts alot longer, like 21 year olds are still considered kids and still at the age to be pampered and cared for by their parents so you can imagine my horror when I got into fandom spaces and saw people justifying making NSFW content of 16 YEAR OLDS. I once literally got called SENSITIVE in an Instagram comments section by other PJO fans for saying that it's creepy to make sex jokes about Percy and Annabeth, and they said I was overreacting bc "they're almost adults anyway, real teens have sex at this age"...... Like just because irl teens do doesnt mean you should be encouraging that and normalizing it!!

So in current canon Pjo,Percy and Annabeth are not 'almost adults',they just ARE adults as their latest apperance in the timeline has them at 18 with confirmation from Rick.Yet fans choose to make these jokes about them as minors even though that book has been out for 4 years.Much like this,Spiderman fans do sm*t of Mcu Peter and Spiderverse Gwen even though in the comics which have way more material they are adults.This also applies to Naruto,Bleach,Toh,Httyd,Atla and other media that have the protagonists start out as kids but grow up either as the story goes along or in an epilogue

If you have the option between sexualizing an adult version of character and an underaged version of the character that're both presented as equally canon and you choose the latter,you are a pedophile.Full point blank.That's the definition of pedophillia.You saw a grown up and a kid and found the kid more attractive.There's no excuse for that.There's no reason for an adult to want to see a child in sexual situations over another adult in sexual situations.You've made a disgusting choice so people have a right to call the pedo a pedo

The fact Viggo was able to tame a Skrill so easily.

Like, he knew that dragon for an hour or two max and it was ready to fight and die by his side for him.

I think about this a lot for a few reasons. One, it implies that dragon taming really is as simple as just "show you're trustworthy and be kind."

Two, it implies Skrills aren't as aggressive or untameable as previously assumed. (Which goes with my personal headcanons)

Three, it's a powerful as fuck scene. It shows how far Viggo has come and how much he's willing to change, to give up, for those he cares about. Truly cares about. I mean, this man had spent months in a war against Hiccup and, pretty much overnight and with the help of one of the dragons he'd arguably be the most afraid of (assuming that one scar he has is, in fact, from a close call with a Monstrous Nightmare) he changed his entire world view. He decided to give up everything, his life's work, his life itself, all to help Hiccup get closer to stopping Krogan and Johann. This man gave up everything for an adversary turned friend and a couple dragons, and that's probably one of the most honorable and memorable ways to go out I can think of.

Okay, but what if Hiccup got a traumatic brain injury from being hit by the Red Death’s tail? It knocked him out cold for 2 weeks! What if he woke up and not only was his leg missing, but a good portion of his memories, including that of the event that caused all this? What if he had aphasia and headaches and sensitivity to light and sound?

His recovery would be so much harder and longer, but so very interesting. I can imagine the angst that would go into this AU. So much. Just so much.

Who wants a rant about how much Hiccup suffered on Berk and how he felt🙋‍♀️I love angry Hiccup!

Snippet of my httyd runaway AU fic Symphony of Shadows:

Do you know how hard it was for me to live on that godsforsaken island? The amount of misery I suffered daily? Being told I was nothing but a screwup, that I was different in a bad way, constantly being told I needed to change? For fifteen miserable years that was all I heard. I was body shamed by pretty much everyone in the village, even my own father. Do you know what that does to someone?" Hiccup felt his breath come out in a rush and his hands were waving around, communicating his points. He was now caught up in his ramble and becoming increasingly upset by having to relive the life he left in the past. Astrid was clearly dumbfounded at his confession and it only fueled his rant.

"Of course you don't. You're perfect Astrid who everyone loves and worships because you were born a warrior queen. Did you ever think about anyone but yourself? While you were throwing axes in the woods, do you know what I was doing? Trying to be the model viking, trying to make friends, trying to be good enough. Good enough for the village, good enough for my dad. But I never was good enough. I was ostracized for being Hiccup, Astrid. And then when I started to improve at Dragon Training, all of a sudden, everyone wanted to be my friend. Do you know what made it so much worse? I was cheating…”
