#tag talk #I made three new earrings. I've wanted to turn pennies into earrings for a while and I bought a small grinder wheel attachment last month #and I finally felt like making them. two are a silver wire pair for my sister and one is a blackened wire single for me #I refuse to give presents exactly on Christmas but I'm going down there because I care about my sister even if I don't about my parents #and she cares a lot about Christmas so I'm glad I made her something. she's one of the only people I feel comfortable giving gifts to tbh #anyway I'm not posting pictures because I don't feel like it and idk. I don't feel like posting on tumblr for real. #but I still wanna say the words into the void yaknow? #first new earring design I've made since march/april since my lantern earring #I've had even more people asking whether I sell them and like. no I don't. For the last several months I've been resisting the siren call of machining while enjoying the new-to-me channel Pask Makes, with its woodworking and tool production.

But yesterday I watched two videos from Adam Savage in a row, with all their semi-chaotic plotting, layout work, and winging it. I now desperately need access to a machine shop and I'm being so brave about it.

That said, I have just downloaded FreeCAD to get as close as I can digitally to that thought process without the metal shavings, blue stained fingertips, and sulfuric lubricant smell. Or at least as close as I can for free.

#started writing this post and had to pause for about an hour to search desperately for the name of my Intro to Machining Technology teacher #i'd thought of him and gotten to the point of being *pretty* sure he'd vanished from linkedin before #i confirmed he's definitely not there (or at least not the account that connected with mine) #and another person with his first name overwrote my memory of his last BUT this time i managed to find the right search terms #that pulled up his spot in the school's whitepages directory #so i emailed his school account knowing full well he probably doesn't have access anymore as an old adjunct #i certainly don't - it was almost ten years ago #but if he does or there's some email forwarding possible he's gotten a thank you message #because that was one of the classes i loved the most from my community college and tbh my whole school experience #anyway this isn't just impulsive yearning to machine #if I'm doing it right the project after next will have a lot of assets that parametric modeling would help #including vehicles if I'm brave which i need to be if I'm really using it as an environment artist portfolio piece #specifically they might require nurbs which would need me to download and practice with the silk add-on #which i think common sense dictates should happen after i understand how to use the vanilla toolsets #so gaining that familiarity might be what we're up to some stream soon #ramblings #tag you're writ

isagi yoichi is endearing. he's so bad at being normal around you. his face flushed a cute red, and his words barely managing to leave his mouth as you talk to him so sweetly. he doesn't know how to handle a crush. and it's so cute to tease him because he just doesn't know how to respond properly.

the times where he does manage to gain enough confidence to talk a conversation with you, he's never taking the lead in any of them. he's talking [somewhat] normally to you, answering your questions and [attempting] to reply to your thoughts and responses. of course, just don't flirt with him too hard. there's like a 50 percent chance he will understand it or not.

he can't even admire you correctly. when he attempts to give you a compliment, he's saying all the wrong words and apologizing profusely like he offended your entire bloodline. he's so utterly enchanted by you, he wonders if you're an angel sent just for him.

"you're so nice, y/n." "huh?" "i-i mean you're really cute! wait- i didn't mean that! fuck- not that i don't think you look cute! you're really a great person, you know?! sorry! i'm just gonna go back to practice...!"

nagi seishiro is so lazy that you can't help but watch over him. you understand why reo adores him (a little too much). he's a boy with pretty privilege and talent. he talks to you with such honesty that he unintentionally flirts with you. he doesn't know a lot of things well, but even he's had his fair share with understanding liking people (but that's only with the random dating sims he's tried).

when he manages to get on his feet, whether it's for a soccer match or you, he's stuck by you like a cute koala. he whines about everything being "too much of a hassle." but he finds himself walking around looking for you, no matter how far you are. he whines to you about how he had to get up to find you, and he's cuddling close to you. his mouth turned into his signature X shape as he pouts at you, annoyed that you just had to be away from him for more than a minute.

he tries so hard to be around you but at the cost of his laziness, he mutters to you about how much easier it would be if you just stay with him all the time like his purple-haired companion or his cactus pet. he fell for you first, but he makes it so easy for you to fall harder.

"why do you always have to do stuff?" "it's my job, sei." "you should just stay with me all the time. you take care of me so well."

shidou ryuusei is annoyingly desperate for you. if isagi was endearing, shidou was insolent. he speaks before he thinks. he has no shame in chasing after you. it's quite a feat that you haven't even shooed him away as much as sae has. you sort of find a friend in sae because of that. he always rolls his eyes when you mention him. he wonders why you keep being around the blonde jock, and you tell him, "who doesn't love a pathetic man?"

when he talks to you, he just can't read a room with you in it. he's the type of guy to say "this shot is for you." and it hits the goal post and then to his face. of course he'd never actually miss in a real match but i can guarantee that it would happen during a practice match. he unintentionally humiliates himself every time he tries to be cool. if sae is there, it's even worse. he's trying to bump up the flirting up to a 200 and failing miserably to woo either of you.

he's like those tweets where it's like, "how did i pull them? easy. i just went, PLEASEPLEAPLSEPWPLEAPLELA-". without fail, he basically tries to re-enact that but he doesn't even pull you because you'd much rather wait for him to actually be a decent man and grow the rest of his brain. though it doesn't seem he'll learn his lesson anytime soon.

bachira meguru is confusing. he's clingy, blunt, teasing, a little stupid but has the spirit, and an absolute cutie. he's passionate about what he likes. and surprise, surprise, he likes you. he's an infodumper but you don't mind at all. but sometimes those talks take a hard left into just telling you how much he likes you. you better hope you're strong because he will be jumping on you for a hug.

when he's just buzzing with excitement, he can't help but scramble by your side to cling onto you in any way that you will allow him to. he's not as boy failure as the others on this list because even when he fails to capture your heart, he's still succeeding in his book. he loves when you give him any sliver of attention. that's probably his thing as a boy failure. he is a hyper and needy dog who's too big to cuddle with but doesn't care. and you can't say no because then they just stare at you with those big eyes until you cave.

he's the type of guy to be confused when people ask if you're dating him and you say no. "what do you mean we're not dating? i thought this was the dating." he's never actually confessed, but he considers his "s-tier affection" to be confession enough. but he's kind of coward whether he realizes it or not. he's scared to actually say that he wants to be yours, but that's like an angsty story for another time, SO SHUT.

In all honesty, you never really knew the feeling of being deeply loved by someone. You never consider yourself as worthy and deserving of such a special treatment.

That changes when you meet Kento Nanami, of course. It started when you got transferred to Jujutsu High to try improving yourself both academically and wanting to become a jujutsu sorcerer yourself; even when your mother was against it at first, but eventually supporting your decisions.

You don't know how, but it has gotten you two in a very special relationship as right now too.

Nanami surely may appear as a man of a few words, yet he still makes a clear effort for you. He would always, and always, try his best to be there for you. It's one of his traits that you adored so much.

But despite everything, the insecurities and doubt still existed within you; not really knowing on how to possibly get rid of such feelings. You couldn't help yourself, which causes your mind to sometimes make you anxious, and rethinking the same thought over and over again.

Today is just one of those days, and you don't have the courage to confide your problems to him-- afraid of burdening him with your mere thoughts. So, you decided to just try to ease your mind by settling yourself on the couch after turning the TV on, since it's the weekends after all.

And of course, while your eyes are on the TV, you aren't focusing a word from it at all.

Though, not too long after, the sounds of feet approaching can be heard, yet you didn't even spare any glance at the source of sound because you fully know on who it is, taking a seat next to you on the available space of the couch. One of his hands reached for your shoulder and give it a comforting squeeze.

He doesn't even need to ask much judging by your facial expressions alone. He knows; he knows that something is bothering you. The slight slump of your shoulders has given it more away too.

"Did anything happen?"

Nanami tries to ask in a very delicate manner, yet understanding if you're not ready to tell him about it. The concern is evident at this point, and it made you feel guilty in a way.

"No, nothing happened," you shake your head with your gaze lowering. "It's just one of those days-- or just me, I guess."

You genuinely didn't know on how to talk to him regarding matters as such. But the thought of potentially ignoring him and pretending that you're alright makes it pretty worse than it actually is.

But of course, it wasn't enough to convince him, clearly knowing that there's something that you're hiding on. Upon noticing on how you didn't even look at him, Nanami gently uses his fingers; tipping your chin up so that you're facing him now.

"Are you sure?" It might seem a simple question; meant to be asked by anyone when one doesn't believe the other, but this one has a hint of genuine care and concern lacing his voice. He doesn't believe you.

Those three words are enough to make you completely go silent for a solid few minutes, before finally giving in, knowing that he's not going to give up on the matter.

"I mean it. It's just-- my thoughts, they're quite a mess right now, and I don't even know what to actually say.."

"Was it because of the exam?"

"Well, that's a part of it." You chuckled lightly, but your inner turmoil hasn't even subsided yet. "It's kinda ridiculous though.."

"I don't care if it seems ridiculous or not," Nanami still maintains his voice in a soft way, never intending to raise his voice or even using any harsh words. "If anything, I would be glad to listen to any of your problems."

Even if it's a minor thing from the past or so, he would always lend you an ear whenever you needed to talk to him.

You gradually released your breath that you didn't realize you've been holding on, adjusting your posture a bit before finally deciding to answer him.

"You know, sometimes.. I can't help but to wonder; am I a good lover to you? I know that both of us are still young, but.."

You begin to fiddle your fingers out of nervousness that's slowly building up within you.

"I'm scared if I ever mess things up."

The blonde-haired male ponders over your confession for a bit, before he moves himself closer to you-- taking ahold of your shoulders, and made you look at him so you two are now face to face properly.

By this point, your eyes shifted upwards to meet his own, yet you couldn't find any traces of irritation or even lies as he tells you those words. It feels pure and genuine, clearly coming straight from what lies within his heart alone.

When he acknowledges the look you gave him, a small, yet content smile is present; partly as a sign of reassurance, that he only saves it for you. His hands didn't even leave your form either, determined on making you believe on each of his words. He doesn't want you to doubt him, because everything he says is the mere truth, not just something that you wanted to hear.

"You are already a great partner for me, so don't ever doubt yourself anymore." No matter how many times, he would gladly repeat those words for you. Because you mean a lot to him.

Who would've thought that someone like Nanami to ever speak out such sweet words to anyone; to you? An absolute sweetheart, you were rendered speechless for a while there after he finished speaking, affecting your whole being in the best ways possible.

And it almost made you feel foolish to ever have shown that you doubt yourself for it, when all he feels is genuine love and care for you.

Once the realization really hits you, your cheeks is slowly becoming more pinkish, finally able to absorb his words to your heart and mind; taking your time to understand it deeply in the process. He's really that one guy; one who simply doesn't leave you over something that could be deemed as ridiculous.

"With every fibre of my being, I do." You didn't even realize that your eyes have gotten teary, feeling a little emotional over this whole situation. He knows that you two could make it through this relationship, with proper care and effort from one another.

It's not something he would easily admit to someone, which makes it even more special to you. One of his hands now moved up towards your cheek, and the other around your waist as he tenderly brushes away the tears that managed to escape from you.

You didn't even realize that you may or may not have been bottling up your emotions over your silent thoughts, which makes it more evident when he pulls you into a warm embrace; all while whispering some comforting words to you.

most of the kuwei hate in this fandom is absolutely racially motivated and most of it is probably subconscious but i NEED to talk about this.

and not because i think people r thinking "i hate kuwei!! he's asian and i hate asians!!" tbh most anti asian racism on the internet goes way deeper than that.

basically, what i believe to be the most prominent type of racism against asians, especially on the internet, is stereotyping. specifically "uwu-ification." the east asian entertainment industry likes to paint asian people as cute, submissive and sweet because it markets disturbingly well to american audiences, and whether people mean to or not, they internalize it and it affects the way they think of asian people as a whole. This mostly happens to east and southeast asian women, but definitely a lot with men too, especially in more recent years with the whole yaoi culture thing (i fucking hated typing that) becoming more popular. simply put, it's fetishization.

so how does this relate to kuwei? well, when kuwei is introduced to us, and im not gonna dance around it— he is pretty stereotypically asian. he's shy, innocent, small, good at math/science and— you guessed it— no speaka engrish. leigh bardugo lays the perfect trap for fandom white girl weeaboos to gush over this guy. once i came across a modern au where kuwei's whole northern chinese-mongolian ass is a "shy japanese transfer student." i really wish i was making this up.

but then we find out that kuwei is actually a conniving little shit who is really quite terrible at science and spends all day making shitty drawings of his crush instead of doing math or wtv. The turning point where we are told this is the jesper kiss. This is the point where we find out kuwei is not the yaoi uwu baby we thought he was. and how does fuckin 2/3 of the fandom react?? hate. instant hate. If you search "i hate kuwei" on twitter there are tweets both defending and attacking him, but there is significantly more of the latter.

most of them claim to hate him for kissing jesper but like... jesper kissed him. He doesn't say anything because, in his own words, "we're all probably going to die anyway." does no one see how tragic that is?? he let his first (probably) kiss be taken by someone who he knew didn't even like him because he thought it would be the only one he'd ever get.

and yet the only thing people see is that he "got in the way" of wesper and he's evil. throughout the series kuwei is given no agency, and that's the point of his character. everyone on the planet treats him as a weapon or a bargaining chip. he gets tossed around like a rag doll and to white (or otherwise not asian) audiences, that makes him the perfect picture of a little asian cutie i almost vomited typing that holy shit. but the moments where he takes something for himself— insisting on going to ravka, kissing jesper back— that's what makes people hate him. and don't even get me started on the way people project their hatred onto the other crows, especially wylan. yall will act like wylan loathes kuwei with all his being. he doesn't!! wylan is not a hateful person and he always defends kuwei!! but nooo, kuwei sucks and he deserves it for daring to be a person instead of an idea.

and hey?? guess what?? kuwei was NEVER in the way of wesper. there was no love triangle. narratively speaking, there was never any threat that kuwei would end up with jesper instead of wylan. never ever. the kiss was literally only put there to create drama for wylan and jesper. we never even hear how kuwei feels about it. stop using that as an excuse to hate on kuwei when we can all see it's because you're subconsciously mad at an asian person not being nice.

also disliking kuwei does not automatically make you racist, im just saying a lot of hatred towards kuwei is rooted in racism.

Scary Show AU (cw for cannibalism and murder)

Ghost is a very well-known yet still semi-anonymous Voice Actor for spooky shit. There's a huge following for him because, regardless of what role he's playing, he does a phenomenal job. He's only listed in the cast list as "S.R.Ghost"

Typically he plays the role of the creatures in this super popular show called "Cryptid Season" which follows a gang of college kids desperate for extra credit in their Biology class so they hunt cryptids as evidence/to study for their papers. He does the voice over and some of the motion capture (he's a big dude) for the monsters and such, his most famous one being "Goatman" (from the demonic Goatman's bridge in I think Texas?)

Meanwhile Soap is this animator who's starting to become really popular, and he announces a new show in the work: "Consume", where he voices one of the two lead roles. It's presented as a show about a normal, if not very lonely man, being tormented by a demonic presence in his home.

Plot twist: dude's actually a cannibalistic serial killer and ends up quickly befriending the demon. The demon helps make the man harder to track by police forces in exchange for the bones and souls of his victims.

Cast:

Price voices the seasoned detective who's been working this case "too damn long"

Ghost and Soap ABSOLUTELY fall in love while recording scenes together. The banter, the flirting, the sexy scenario of cutting up a corpse together; it's too much not to fall in love irl

Just like any other actor, Ghost had to audition for the role.

His agent books it for him without consultation, knowing the project would be right up his alley—horror, monsters, no face required—and Ghost makes no argument in sending in his tape. He recognizes this process and takes no issue with it, and once out of his hands, he waits patiently for a congratulatory offer or a gentle rejection.

Just like any other movie, or show, or what have you. Consume is no different.

Supposedly. At first.

John "Soap" MacTavish is... many things. He's charming, according to most. Talented. A joy to be around. A man who wears more than several hats of a project, which certainly tells of someone trying to worm their way into the commercial industry.

He has the spirit and creativity, Ghost will allow him that. But he also doesn't know when to stop talking as soon as the important work is done.

Is Soap professional? Sure. Does Soap make sure all jobs are done with efficiency and done well? Yes, he does. Does it make him any less of a nuisance to Ghost? Absolutely not.

But Ghost would be damned if the project doesn’t find its way into his soft spots, despite its nature. He’d be damned if he doesn’t fall in love with Soap’s animations and the hard work and craft he puts into them.

Then he blinks, and the pilot is premiering. It does well (again, considering its content), and Consume is properly green-lit.

Which is when Soap proposes the idea of recording their lines in the same room. Together. Facing one another. Because banter, and chemistry, and whatever other reasons he insists upon.

Personally, Ghost wants to decline. He’s always felt somewhat awkward when recording as such with anyone, but professionally? He couldn’t really say no, could he?

And it is awkward, at first. There’s more takes than usual, and Ghost can sense Soap’s frustration, though the man never expresses it. He just plasters on a tight smile, calls for a break, and pulls Ghost aside.

Surely, surely this is where Ghost gets fired. This is where Ghost is told he’s going to be replaced, where he’s told to say goodbye to Gaz and Price and wish them luck, and move onto his next gig. This is where—

“Have I done something wrong?”

Soap’s face is so earnest. So painfully sincere.

Ghost clenches his jaw. Shakes his head.

“No, I—“ He sighs. “Just have to get used to the… face-to-face. Let’s—I’ll try again.”

Soap smiles wider, now, as he nods, something kind and warm and brilliant.

The second try goes much smoother. Ghost takes a deep breath and eases himself into scripted dialogue, into witty banter and subtle flirts like it’s any other project.

They continue to record lines as such, just the two of them, each episode at a time. At some point, Ghost worries, the line between script and show and reality gets blurred. At some point, he fears, that flirting becomes genuine.

And what would he know—the reviews only get better as that line becomes less and less clear. Natural, real-feeling dialogue, critics say. The relationship is authentic, claim viewers.

The love is actually heartfelt.

And fuck, if that doesn’t make Ghost realize a few things about himself.

About Soap.

Consume is no different, his ass. He might have to have a stern talk with his agent in the near future.
