- who is in the federation of heros? What founded the federation? Are they powered like cellbit?

- how is cellbit one of the first few born? I feel theres a science experiment plot caught in this and he broke containment. I wonder if he found this out due to being able to scare himself, and that fear immediately projecting to others, making THEM just as scared. Id imagine hed be diagnosed with severe paranoia/etc and then like. Oh SHIT its not. That. Oh fuck.

- what was that leadup that made him a supervillain? Something so minuscule yet so big as fear, to be considered one of the high villains of the city is insane. Some people would probably laugh it off an say physical destruction was scarier than mental, until they see what he actually does.

- who did he murder?????? I wonder if it was someone who defied the "everyones fears projected back to them" ability. Someone unaffected by this, like maybe their own ability counteracted it. One of the federations lower ranked heros attacked... as a citizen... i feel theres more than meets the eye here..... but of course it ended with murder. I feel there could be done with something of luzu and his look alike there.

- i still keep thinking about breaking dawn and how forever is also considered richas's dad, and just thinking about it being kinda switched in this scenario. Cellbit walked into forevers life again an now richas has another dad to annoy the piss out of. Though i do feel him an jaiden would be at each others throats in investigation. She would totally be a foh member to me. He tries to take down them through HER.

- why jaiden? Shes probably the most visible with her apparent ability. I imagine her having hummingbird like abilities. Flying at such a fast rate it can change the force of wind itself, etc etc etc (running on coffee an headaches atm sorrie) but she KNOWS something. She knows the foh is fucked up. She knows its dictating the definition of right an wrong, but she doesnt have the power (YET!!!!!!) to kill them from the inside out.

- heros who are seen as the light amongst the city, vigilantes who are the underbelly of a growing problem/an antibiotic refusing to kill the infection, and singular villain who wants to put a stop to it for all. God. I am jn love with this au im sorry can u tell

- and then theres fucking SPIDER MAN. nobody knows who he may work for since, by the logic of q city, if your a vigilante, your working for someone else directly related to the foh, and being sponsored as such. But theres no calling for spiderman, theres even active "have you seen this person" signs around the city, marking them as a non verbalized threat to the standing of foh. Cellbits key.

- now he needs to convince his friends to help him find spiderman. For....... research. Yes. Totally. He wishes to interview spiderman in hopes to figure out "who he works for", which not really. Hes not the best at lying, nor was he really trying. He wants to crack down the foh to its rotten core.

- he even tries to ask roier for help at some point, right? He talks about the signs around the city, says its a shame that hes on a watch list- and how he swings around to actively web heros against the walls to stop them from hurting another person.

- and its convinent theyre on a coffee date (cellbit didnt even notice, roier did, an hes just awkwardly like... hahahahabah thats really weird why would spiderman stop him but also yeah i get that- why would thet get rid of MY hero <:((("

- cellbits subconsciously like. Shit. Pretty boy is pouting about the vigilante. More reason to find the motherfucker.

SORRY ITS SO LONG ENJOY THE RAMBLEEEE

WOW OKAY so let’s see:

1. It’s a lot like the Federation from the canon qsmp, but it’s also more overtly focused on ‘Protecting the City’ from superpowered threats. It stepped in to fill the shoes of the former police state, and by getting rid of the majority of police officers it both opened up opportunities for villains (and thus heroes and thus the Federation) and for heroes (see: previous parentheses.) The founder is anonymous, a “Mister Duck”.

2. I’m actually lowkey playing by MHA rules. Basically, at some point a couple of decades ago, kids started being born with superpowers. It was the more obvious ones that were discovered first, like a girl in France being born with little duck wings. Cellbit’s ability is less obvious, but his parents were constantly overly worried about him because babies and children are always very very scared of everything. Eventually he realized what was up when he was around nine or ten, but he didn’t really tell anybody because even back then he knew that he would “get in trouble” for it.

3. As for villainy, it was an accident. He needed money after his parents died (of sudden heart attacks, and he pretends he doesn’t know what that actually means), and he isn’t a very intimidating guy on his own, so he kinda… helped himself out a little. And it worked super well, so he kept doing it. And he kept doing it. And then he started going a bit overboard with it and the people he was robbing started dying, too.

4. And as for the murder, Cellbit and the hero were both civilians when they got into an argument. The hero, new to the whole thing, ended up using their ability and actually attacked him. He attacked back, notably without using his ability, and he accidentally killed them. The Feds were NOT happy about this, so they messed with the court proceedings and got him sent to prison for three years. But, hey, at least he got therapy there?

5 and 6. Jaiden is 100% working with the Federation in this au. She and Spider-Man are taking very different approaches to what is fundamentally the same issue here. I think her ability is more parrot-y, but she does work for them now. (It’s a very recent development.)

8-10. Spider-Man is a fan-favorite and the Federation does NOT appreciate him ruining their image!! And he knows that he isn’t well liked by them at the moment, and he doesn’t care because it’s fine if Spider-Man dies. He has a job to do, and he is going to do it.

11-end. And it’s a good thing that Cellbit is such a big Spider-Man fan! It’s something Roier thinks they can use to bond. Definitely. Bonding.

This will be in 1st person because its easier to write :)

Part 1/??

Dead. Every last one of them. I jogged crying baby Suki on my hip desperately trying not to burst into tears myself. As i walked further into the house I felt tears start to well up the sights of my dead family. The village was silent. The smell of death hung in the air like a dark raincloud at every house blood leaked out of the hole where their front doors used to be. I walked into my bedroom at the back at the house which was upturned almost as if the demon was looking for something. I grabbed the bare necessities for myself and Suki and sprinted out the house not knowing how much longer I could hold up the facade.

I don't know how long I walked. My chest hurt, my eyes were dry, my back hurt and my arms were killing me from holding up baby suki for so long. I knew it wasn't safe but what other chance did I have? It was stay there and get malled or run and protect ourselves. After what seemed like hours walking I reached a mountain and began to trek upwards ignoring the scream from my legs. The last thing I remember is walking into a clearing calling out for help before collapsing and seeing a red headed boy and an old man with a strange mask sprinting towards me.

I woke up with a start remembering the events from the night before. I scrambled up and and pressed myself against the wall looking around at the unfamiliar place I was in. The faint sound of footsteps sounded beside me as I darted across the room desperate to get away from this unknown place. 'I am not here to hurt you,' a deep voice said I front of me, 'I just want to know how you ended up on thst mountain'

I looked up jn fright to see the man from the night before standing in front of me. I attempted to answer but it was like my voice had left me. Suddenly I remembered, 'Suki!' I thought. My eyes snapped up to the man and I suddenly found my voice. 'Where is my sister!' I yelled, the man seemed taken aback and then relaxed, 'follow me.' He said as he stepped into another room where I spotted the red headed boy who was with him last night bending over a girl. Straying my attention from him my eyes fixed onto Suki in the corner of the room. 'SUKI' I yelled and scooped her up into my arms. I started to cry as I realised that she is now all I have, and I am all she has.

The redheaded boy walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder, ' My names Tanjiro what's yours?' He said with a smile. 'My names Y/N and this is Suki.' I said

'How did you end up on the mountain?' Tanjiro asked with a tilt of his head, 'I ran away' I replied digging my face into sukis hair as images of my families dead and bloodied corpses flash through my head, 'won't your family be looking for you?' He said. 'My family's dead,' I stated my voice wobbling. Tanjiro looked at the man in the doorway as he nodded to him.

The man brought us into the main room and explained to us what had happened to my family and to my surprise, to Tanjiros too.

'I realised I have not introduced myself yet,' the man said, 'My name is Urokodaki and I am part of the demon slayer corporation. The role of the Corp is to eliminate the exact things that killed your family's. Although I am retired I will train you two to become demon slayers if you are up to the challenge.'

Me and Tanjiro looked to each other then, back to Urokodaki nodding firmly. This was the best option, the wisest one. I am not going to let the person who ruined my life ruin any others again.

I learnt that Tanjiros sister was called Nezuko and she was also a demon, except she didn't eat humans which I found strange. Urokodaki promised to take care of Suki and Nezuko so me and Tanjiro could start our training.

As he led us up a steep mountain I began rethinking my desicion as the sun set. 'You must make your way down to the house before sunrise' He stated. I spun around to question him but he was gone. As I peered down the mountain I began to wonder if I could do this. I shook my head and pushed the thoughts away, if not for me, for Suki.

'We can do this' said Tanjiro. I nodded and we began our descent down the mountain.

Thank you for kindly answering my “ask” even though it was more like a monologue/message. I’m still working up my courage to DM you one of these days…

JK live was just so 💎pure💎 and had an effect to move even dark crumbling souls 🧹🪨 like mine. (😅Not to sound so dramatic, but I’ve been stuck in darkness yet again🧟‍♀️). His reaction to the FESTA 💌 project (and other fan songs), + the euphoric experience of listening to him sing 🌿✉️🌿…this fandom is so very spoiled. 💜😌💜

Anyhow, I am here again because I have two thoughts/items I wanted to share with you. ❤️

The NYT article has been gifted via the reporting journalist’s tweet above. I’m not at all familiar with this artist or his group, and do not know anything about J-pop…but am somewhat familiar with the conservative social landscape of Japan. IMHO the fact that such a fuss needs to be made to apologetically disclose such a personal matter is wrong, alas that is where 🇯🇵 and many other societies stand. I applaud his courage, and hope the best outcome…truly, but I reckon it remains to be seen.

2. I was watching JK’s live and noticed there were numerous spamming from the TK shipper side of the fandom (as usual). But the curious thing today was, every time (at least a handful of times) I tried to hold it or swipe it to report the comments as I’ve done in the past, they disappeared before I even had the chance(!) Memorizing the usernames and scrolling back to find them was futile also, they were just *poof!* gone a moment after they appeared. I’m curious if you or anyone on your blog have noticed this… in all cases the ship name was a part of the comments—perhaps the term is now being screened(?).

Yet another stamp📓💮 collected!

1. I'll have to check this guy out! I hadn't heard of him before, thank you for sharing!

2. Interesting. I know weverse is monitoring their lives more now I believe for inappropriate comments. I *think* but it's possibly they are trying to cut down on the stupidly overwhelming number of shippy comments to get to actual more actual engagement types of comments. But who knows! It's Interesting regardless. I personally turn the comments OFF whenever I watch lives unless I'm rarely adding some of my own. Simply because it's too distracting for me and people saying stupid shit jn an attempt to get noticed detracts from my enjoyment at just seeing the members lol so I can't speak to seeing anything like this for myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi! I have just recently deciding to switch careers and leave the vet industry , go into tech. Have spent past 2 years in tech school to become a vet assistant but after being in my field, I always wondered how it would be like to have a career in tech, ive always thought for so long that being in tech comes w Math and science and i suck at both 🤣🤣🤣. so I’m deciding to enroll myself in a completely online program to become an IT tech yet i have always admired hacking and coding so without getting sooo much into it, which leads me to my question:

- what do I have to do to be in the code career?

- do I have to go to boot camp out of my state or should look into going online completely?

- is coding beginner friendly especially as someone who doesn’t have ABSOLUTE NO IDEA about coding?

Please let me know and I love that I have found a community of women jn the tech industry, it’s pretty inspiring which why I want to go into the tech career.

Hi Stone, first of all welcome to our small and growing community.

I'm glad you're giving yourself this chance to try technology and see if it's for you or go back to vet or even go to art(yes I stalked you UEUHEHUEHUE) and I also thank you for finding my opinion relevant.

As you said that you wanted a career and that you are interested in coding and hacking, here you need to choose which one to prioritize. Because whether back-end, front-end, mobile, fullstack or cybersecurity there will be a lot to study, practice, make mistakes and practice again.

Here I give an addendum that if you don't know what these areas mean in technology, I recommend doing a search, reading and watching videos on youtube about it to see what might please you.

So based on what you've told me, again I think the best first step is to know what you want to prioritize and what you want to make money from.

Because trust me, you won't be able to study everything together at the same time. And if you manage to find an hour, there will be a burnout, so take it easy my friend. (from personal experience)

Even more so if you want a job, it's best to focus on 1 and then move on to others. Then find out what might be best for you / what you most identify with.

I also like hacking, I have books and I have already found courses. But this is something I want to study as a hobby and a safety measure (after all, there's no shortage of motherfuckers doing shit with others with that knowledge). So I put it in the background. Because my priority is money and hacking has work, but not in my country.

Now about entering the code career. Despite being a junior/student, I've seen a lot and I've also learned in these 2 years in the technology community in my country and watching you from the outside, so I can have a more mature view to help you with that.

So let's go:

1) - To know what you need to do to enter your career in code, you need to know how the technology market is in your country.

Because with all these layoffs, we have a lot of professionals with experience and academically well qualified and depending on the country, we currently have more demand for professionals than job offers. (Here in Brazil this is happening, because the layoffs in North America reflected here).

And here I don't want to discourage you, I just want to give you a realistic parameter for you to enter the area without illusions and not get frustrated like me and a bunch of people on the internet. (I wish someone had guided me like that). Because what we have most on social media is people making it seem like programming is easy and getting a job is even easier, or that you're going to earn A LOT since you're just a junior and THAT'S NOT THE REALITY..

BUT all the effort pays off in the end.

Within that, here I think it's cool that you try to observe what vacancies in your country ask for juniors/interns.

From Skills like knowing python to asking college or accepting bootcamp. See what's most in demand out there and within that see if you like what's in demand.

I tell you this, because here in Brazil, for example, we currently have more vacancies for internships (and here you need to be enrolled in a college to do an internship) than for juniors without college and only with bootcamps. So if we want a job around here, the first thing is to go to college and not be completely self-taught. So again, research and study your country's technology market.

In my conception TODAY getting a job in programming without college will be 10x more difficult than in 2020 for example, things have changed. The market now is not lacking developers, quite the contrary, now it has hight demands from developers but not for JOBS.

What the market wants most are senior people (and I've seen seniors I know saying that after layoffs even for them it's more willing to get a job, again supply and demand), but there are still opportunities for us beginners, in some countries there are more and in others less.

Speaking in the sense of the United States from what I observed from the US (content producers and twitter) + my experiences here in Brazil.I don't know the current situation of the technology market in Africa, the rest of Latin America , Asia and Europe.

Of course, you can be lucky and succeed without , but I, for one, got tired of believing that I would be lucky and be one of those people who succeed and changed my strategy to get a job.

Or you could also join a job-guaranteed bootcamp. Check how it works and if you have this type in your country.

And here we come to your second question.

2) The answer is it depends.

For example, will this bootcamp in your state guarantee you a job or is it possible to do an internship at a company or will it connect you with companies after the program?Or is he recognized by technology companies in your state?

If so, I would recommend doing it and dedicating yourself to getting in.

Because look, if they guarantee you an job is even better , you'll just have to study and do what they tell you to get your job.

But if you don't guarantee it, but this training has merit/respect in the market, it also pays off.

Here, I wanted to take the opportunity and talk about apprenticeship.

In our community we have our queen @xiacodes @xiabablog (it's the same person), she did an apprenticeship and today she is a junior developer in UK .

She shared her journey on her blog and is also the most engaged and resource sharing person in our community.

Here I would like to say that FOR ME Apprenticeship is one of the smartest strategies today to get into the technology market.

I myself will start on a Monday and it was my solution to get a job in code by the end of the year. (I'll talk about this in another post too)

So I recommend looking for apprenticeship in your country / state and how they work there.

And obviously observe and read the rules of the program to see if there are any catches that put you in absurd debt or contractual fines.

And see if you can handle it if you have the possibility.

Here I give an addendum that if you find an apprenticeship but that you will earn little in the beginning, for you to analyze well before saying no. Because salary we can evolve after we have experience, the important thing for us juniors/students is to get the first experience and the rest later becomes easier. (At least that's what the Mid /seniors I know say)

Now if in your country you don't have this kind of opportunity, I would recommend trying to see if it would be possible to do bootcamp/online courses + college to get an internship.

And you don't even have to start with paid courses, in my opinion if the bootcamp won't guarantee you a job, it's not worth paying for it. We have a lot of free resources on the internt (youtube biggest school) .

But it's up to you.

Free Courses:

-Freecodecamp

-Odin project (And it has both fullstack with ruby and with node.js. )

For me, paying will only pay off when you don't find quality resources for what you want to study. So I would advise you to always think about whether it pays off or not.

Accessible paid courses:

- Codecademy

- Udemy (there are good courses there and there are always promotions)

+++ Here I also wanted to talk about knowing that public colleges (100% free) are not possible in all countries or when they are, they are very elective and difficult to get into for poor people as it is here in Brazil.

But here despite that, studying A LOT to pass the exams and having worked to save money and support yourself until you get scholarships to support yourself (and if you do), you manage to get into the best colleges that are free and that is more viable than being poor and being able to pay for college in the US, for example.

So I know that it might not be very viable depending on where you live and whether or not you are a resident of the country.

So I don't know if college can be an affordable thing for you, but if not that you can find the best strategy to achieve your financial prosperity in technology!

And despite the layoffs, I still think there are more entry level openings there than here HUEHUEEHEU.

3) What do you mean by friendly?

If you mean easy, no, she probably won't be friendly to you at all AND THAT'S OKAY.

As you yourself said that you know absolutely nothing, it will be natural for you to have difficulty, to think about giving up and to make a lot of mistakes to get it right.

It's going to be a process of failing and trying again and again.

NOTHING IS EASY. And since you've already taken a veterinary course, I think you already know that things are really difficult. So this is another reminder that it won't be any different here.

BUT it will end well because EVERYTHING IS LEARNED.

And that also goes for math, if you ever have to deal with it (and if you go to cs college you will) you will make a lot of mistakes, but you will succeed, because EVERYTHING IS LEARNED based on trial and error.

And that doesn't mean you're bad or stupid, just that you're learning something completely from scratch. It won't be overnight that you will understand, it may take months or years, but persisting you will succeed. THIS IS NORMAL.

I cried (literally) to do conditional algorithms in 2021, I banged my head in books, said I would never make it and felt like the biggest dumbass in the world and today 2023 are the easiest things for me. I have no problem making them.

And that was only possible because I didn't give up.

Here I wanted to advise you to start your programming studies with low expectations, to help you manage your frustrations and maybe burnouts. It won't be overnight that you will become the best programmer and do many projects at the level of a senior developer or the people who do tutorials on youtube.

They will be small steps that lead you to your goals in studies. Again, constants.

There are people who could get their ek code jobs in 3 to 6 months of study.

BUT FOR ME, currently having a plan to get an opportunity between 2 years and 4 years (if you actually go to college) study is the healthiest way to pursue your studies and goals. If you get it sooner, even better for you, but if not, you'll be fine with yourself because it's within the period you stipulated.

Finally, I ask you not to take anything I say as absolute truth.

Question what you read Take what I said, analyze it and see how it works in your reality.

I also recommend trying to find women in technology from your country on linkedin and see if they can help you with tips and so on. I feel very good knowing so many Brazilian women in tech since I did this, my network there is composed only of them precisely to create a place without judgment but of welcome and inspiration.

Well, I invested about 3 hours answering the best way I can, I hope you read it and that it helps you.

what i think is going on wrt covid (basically a compilation of what people who actually know what they're talking about are saying) bc i think i need to write it all down for my own sanity

where we are generally

current worldwide dominant variant is either already or about to be jn.1 which is very immune-evasive (i.e. why it's suddenly winning)

symptoms can be pretty much anything, from asymptomatic, to something indistinguishable from mild allergies, to something indistinguishable from food poisoning, to (EXTREMELY rarely) death

no evidence that severity of disease is either better or worse than other omicron subtypes

at time of writing the UK is seeing an uptick in hospitalisations, which has generally a ~10 day lag on infection time, so we can surmise that covid is rampant atm

where we are w/ long covid

long covid rate per infection seems to have declined steadily since 2020. i like this piece on why the long covid problem has probably peaked already (well sourced, click around)

frustrating lack of cohesion with definition and diagnosis: the CDC defines it as problems going on for FOUR weeks; the WHO only calls it long covid after TWELVE weeks. (personally i think the CDC one is way too keen - it's really not uncommon to have a cough that lasts for 2-3 weeks post-virus and i dont think it necessarily indicates anything "wrong")

there urgently needs to be more clarity re: long covid subtypes: some people are suffering extremely badly with debilitating pain & fatigue, some people have a lingering cough, some people who were hospitalised have been severely deconditioned from lying in a bed for weeks - etc. all of these are conceivably diagnosable as long covid under the current guidelines, with extremely different needs. "long covid" currently comprises such an enormously broad range of symptomology that it seems almost impossible to tease out an individual risk from oft-yelled alarmist statistics like "1 in 10 infections result in long covid". like - ok - what kind of long covid are we talking? bc if you mean "1 in 10 people are still coughing at 4 weeks" i would believe it, but if you mean "1 in 10 people are severely debilitated for years" i would not.

reinfections probably dont incraese the long covid risk by very much, if at all. if you don't get it the first time you're very unlikely to get it the second time

not many (? i dont even think there are any really) treatments for long covid but the patient community is really really driving the research forward

anyway, the outlook for the UK for the next month i think is probably pretty bad on a population level thanks to the new variant jn.1 gaining global dominance, regular seasonal socialising, colder weather, + i wouldnt be surprised if the NHS cant cope (again). there's obviously only so much you can do but you really dont want to be in need of hospital treatment at the beginning of jan, when i suspect things will be worst, when there are no beds + the staff are all overworked hard to say anything about how bad the wave will be on an individual level bc we dont really know anything about jn.1's relative severity one way or the other but the sheer numbers of infected will presumably make it bad at scale if you're in the UK and have plans for christmas (or sooner) i would try and avoid mixing much until those plans happen to be honest, all the data is a week behind at least + even that data is showing large increases in covid activity so the actual picture will be worse by now

also, people whose analysis i generally trust and find helpful - a mixture of doctors / statisticians / biologists etc: paul mainwood oliver johnson prof. christina pagel eric topol jp weiland omicron data there are also a serious amount of covid alarmists on the internet and i find this frustrating at best + actively triggering at worst lol like just bc you're on "the right side" (i.e. you aren't in favour of mass deaths and/or disabling events) you cant just create misinformation + wilfully misinterpret studies lol. like it sucks still but where we are right now is completely different to 2020. if you see anyone comparing covid to "airborne aids" that is your cue to block

Synopsis: Playing PC games. Divided into two teams with Yoongi as the MC.

Production: This one is disappointing. The first rule of video game let's plays is the audience needs to see what the player sees. We spend a lot of this episode not seeing the screen or not knowing who's screen we're seeing. Not a terrible concept but this wasn't the best execution.

28th March - ‘He began to wash his disciples’ feet’, Reflection on the readings for Holy Thursday (Jn 13:1-15)

Holy Thursday

I have a print of a painting of the scene in this evening’s gospel reading of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples at the last supper. It is by a German artist named Sieger Koder who died nine years ago at the age of 90. He was a prisoner of war during World War II. Having worked as an artist for many years, he went on to study for the priesthood and was ordained in his late forties. He combined his vocation as a priest with his work as an artist, and continued painting well into his retirement. The focus of his painting of this evening’s gospel reading is on Jesus and Peter. A kneeling Jesus is bent over a bowl of dirty looking water and the seated Peter has his feet in the water. Peter has his left hand raised in protest at Jesus wanting to wash his feet, ‘Never’, he says in our gospel reading, ‘you shall never wash my feet’. He is outraged that Jesus is performing for him a task that would normally be reserved to slaves. Peter’s strong protest is matched by Jesus’ strong insistence, ‘If I do not wash you, you can have nothing in common with me’. Peter’s eventual surrender to Jesus’ desire to wash his feet is depicted in the painting by Peter’s right hand which is at rest on Jesus’ shoulder. The artist doesn’t show the face of Jesus directly, only his back, but his face is reflected in the dirty water where Peter’s feet rest.

A painting that comes from the soul of an artist can speak more powerfully than words alone. Peter felt unworthy of this menial expression of Jesus’s service of him. We can all be like Peter. We feel unworthy of the Lord’s loving service. We struggle to receive the Lord’s gift of himself. Sometimes we have to learn like Peter to let go to the Lord and to allow him to serve us in the way he chooses. It is was difficult for Peter to accept that Jesus, his Lord and Master, could relate to him like a slave. No doubt Peter would have said, ‘It is your feet I should be washing’. Yet, this is the way that the Lord has chosen to serve us all. He gets down on his knees for us to demonstrate the depth of his love for us. What Jesus did at the last supper anticipated what he would do the following day on Calvary. At the supper, he laid down his garments to wash his disciples’ feet. On Calvary, he laid down his life to wash all of humanity in his love. Just as he humbled himself to wash the feet of his disciples, so he would humble himself even more when he submitted to death on a cross for each us all. The Lord who emptied himself to wash the feet of his disciples is the same Lord who emptied himself on the cross for each one of us. We can each say with Saint Paul, ‘I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me’. Like Peter, we can struggle to accept the way the Lord empties himself, humbles himself, in love for me personally. We can have our own way of saying Peter’s ‘Never’, ‘not me’. Yet, the Lord would be as insistent with us as he was with Peter, refusing to take our ‘Never’ for an answer.

The Lord who washed the feet of his disciples at the last supper also did something else, as Saint Paul reminds us in the second reading. He gave himself, his body and blood, to his disciples, under the form of bread and wine. Like the washing of his disciples’ feet, this too anticipated what he would do the following day on Calvary. On the cross he gave his body and his blood as an expression of his love for us; he emptied himself for us. At the last supper, he brought forward this self-emptying love by giving himself, his body and blood, under the form of the bread and wine on the table. Just as he insisted that his disciples allow him to wash their feet, he now insisted that they eat the bread and drink the wine, which he identified with himself. They are to receive this gift of himself. His command to ‘do this as a memorial of me’ meant that the Last Supper was also the beginning of what we call the Eucharist. At every Eucharist, the Lord gives himself to us under the form of bread and wine. The Lord’s self-emptying love, expressed fully on Calvary, is present to us at every Eucharist, as it was present at the Last Supper. When we take the bread of the Eucharist and eat it, we are entering into communion with the Lord’s self-giving love. We are allowing ourselves to be caught up into the Lord’s servant love for us, and, in entering into communion with the Lord, we also enter into communion with one another.

Having received the Lord’s love at the Eucharist, we are then sent out to share that love with one another, to give as we have received. We are to wash each other’s feet, whatever form that might take. Such acts of self-giving love are to be found throughout the homes of this parish. The spirit of Holy Thursday is alive among us, and for this we give thanks.

I found a really well paying job in the small mountain town called South Park! I bet you’re gonna love it there! And get this, it snows almost 24/7! Dont you love snow?”

“Y-Yea but all ny friends here…” “dont worry! You can call all of them when ever and wherever you like!” “Ok..” “now get packed! The moving truck will be here later!” Wait huh?! We’re moving already!? Better start getting packed then!

Time skip!

Ok that took wat longer than I thought… time to move all this outside! The Moving truck is coming soon!

After the moving truck got here, we packed it all up in our car and the truck and sped off on the road to South Park, Colorado. But after a while of paying games and texting my friends, I fell asleep.

“Hija.. wake up! We’re here!” I woke and looked around. So this is South Park… not.. bad? But wow our house is huge! You could fit a whole car in here!

“Go pick your room!” “Ok!” I hope out the car and run to the biggest room. I still wanna know what mom’s job is.

there's something about yoongi being murderous that's just so hot like...i feel like in kpop we very rarely see believable darkness, like don't get me wrong there are alot of darker mv's and shit- but i always have a hard time believing the acting in them. not with yoongi though. i firmly believe he'd stab someone if he needed too.

Fourth Sunday of Lent

Gospel Jn 9:1-41

As Jesus passed by he saw a man blind from birth.

His disciples asked him,

"Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents,

that he was born blind?"

Jesus answered,

"Neither he nor his parents sinned;

it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him.

We have to do the works of the one who sent me while it is day.

Night is coming when no one can work.

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

When he had said this, he spat on the ground

and made clay with the saliva,

and smeared the clay on his eyes,

and said to him,

"Go wash in the Pool of Siloam" —which means Sent—.

So he went and washed, and came back able to see.

His neighbors and those who had seen him earlier as a beggar said,

"Isn't this the one who used to sit and beg?"

Some said, "It is, "

but others said, "No, he just looks like him."

He said, "I am."

So they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?"

He replied,

"The man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes

and told me, 'Go to Siloam and wash.'

So I went there and washed and was able to see."

And they said to him, "Where is he?"

He said, "I don't know."

They brought the one who was once blind to the Pharisees.

Now Jesus had made clay and opened his eyes on a sabbath.

So then the Pharisees also asked him how he was able to see.

He said to them,

"He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and now I can see."

So some of the Pharisees said,

"This man is not from God,

because he does not keep the sabbath."

But others said,

"How can a sinful man do such signs?"

And there was a division among them.

So they said to the blind man again,

"What do you have to say about him,

since he opened your eyes?"

He said, "He is a prophet."

Now the Jews did not believe

that he had been blind and gained his sight

until they summoned the parents of the one who had gained his sight.

They asked them,

"Is this your son, who you say was born blind?

How does he now see?"

His parents answered and said,

"We know that this is our son and that he was born blind.

We do not know how he sees now,

nor do we know who opened his eyes.

Ask him, he is of age;

he can speak for himself."

His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews,

for the Jews had already agreed

that if anyone acknowledged him as the Christ,

he would be expelled from the synagogue.

For this reason his parents said,

"He is of age; question him."

So a second time they called the man who had been blind

and said to him, "Give God the praise!

We know that this man is a sinner."

He replied,

"If he is a sinner, I do not know.

One thing I do know is that I was blind and now I see."

So they said to him,

"What did he do to you?

How did he open your eyes?"

He answered them,

"I told you already and you did not listen.

Why do you want to hear it again?

Do you want to become his disciples, too?"

They ridiculed him and said,

"You are that man's disciple;

we are disciples of Moses!

We know that God spoke to Moses,

but we do not know where this one is from."

The man answered and said to them,

"This is what is so amazing,

that you do not know where he is from, yet he opened my eyes.

We know that God does not listen to sinners,

but if one is devout and does his will, he listens to him.

It is unheard of that anyone ever opened the eyes of a person born blind.

If this man were not from God,

he would not be able to do anything."

They answered and said to him,

"You were born totally in sin,

and are you trying to teach us?"

Then they threw him out.

When Jesus heard that they had thrown him out,

he found him and said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"

He answered and said,

"Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?"

Jesus said to him,

"You have seen him,

the one speaking with you is he."

He said,

"I do believe, Lord," and he worshiped him.

Then Jesus said,

"I came into this world for judgment,

so that those who do not see might see,

and those who do see might become blind."

Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this

and said to him, "Surely we are not also blind, are we?"

Jesus said to them,

"If you were blind, you would have no sin;

but now you are saying, 'We see,' so your sin remains.

Ash’s Age

Was commenting on Reddit then realized it was too long so I just cut it short here are my “fuller “thoughts

Canonically and as of journeys he is 10

But when you do the simple math of about 1200 episodes divided by 365 days a year and assuming an episode is a day (the multiple days in an episode and the multiple episodes covering a single day, balance out for simplicity)

1222/365=3.34

That’s about three years meaning 13 years old

So I think it would take a lot of work from the movies and specials to push Ash to 14 and over, let alone for the people who think he should be like 35 because of the 25 years since the anime started

I generally think 10-12 years old is better, it's still in that he’s a kid but not a teen range which makes more sense for Ash. As I think if they were to have said before Ash is 11 somewhere and 12 in journeys it would be no big deal

Obviously people would freak irl since he would have finally aged but in universe it doesn’t matter as it's just saying the traveling has been about 2 years

And honestly 13 either, I think so many see 13 as the teenager year they start associating it with stuff like dating and puberty and etc. But that’s not everyone, some start later (some earlier) Ash can still be a childish 13 year that hasn’t hit puberty and etc

And others like Serena would be like 12 in this case, are way more aware of stuff like dating since they are going through that process

And in other aspects, it kinda implies that a character like Brock is 18 now if the 15-year-old idea is correct which can make the Doctor thing line up more as he would be an adult

But basically to try not to contradict things too much

Original Series (Kanto-Johto) was 1 year [10->11]

Advanced to Diamond and Pearl (Hoenn - Sinnoh) another year [11->12]

Then Best Wishes (Unova) to now is [12->13]

As OS took longer than most series (276ep) and multiple things implying a year happened in that series alone

Hoenn (191ep) I think it’s reasonable to believe Ash is 11 and May can be 10 and lends more to he’s more experience here and in Sinnoh (192ep)

Then in Unova mostly because of the soft reboot can signify a new year, and the series starting in BW(140) are not as long as the previous series (at least episode count wise)

OS is about the same length as BW and XY (140) combined and AG and DP combined is more than SM (145) and JN (currently 136) combined and slightly less if you add XY

Obviously it's not exactly that range

Based on episode number Ash turned 11 in AG, 12 in BW, 13 in JN as I doubt every transition series started on Ash’s birthday but I think the breaks and transitions between series can mark cut-offs better as series like AG and DP go together BW and XY, SM and JN

Again I didn't go through every episode to see how many days each episode was, I'm not considering the weird seasons taking place in short periods of time, and how the schools there work, and etc

As I think journeys alone makes it so that they've gone through like 3 seasons (spring summer fall IIRC) and based on my personal journeys tracker, it's been around 130 days which would be about one season

So yeah Ash is 10 years old but based on the anime episode/day count he would be about 13 years old

And if you want to add the movies, specials, and such you can stretch to maybe 14 years old
