This is why you can't have a discussion nowadays. People's narrative being "My opinion is the only opinion, Idc what you say you are wrong."

Bitch Honey, if you can't deal with someone else's opinion, maybe don't post shit in the internet for everyone to see.

You can't put up with morally dark characters who are actually morally dark and not trying to justify their actions.

Besides, the worst thing we actively see Eris do in all of the books is saying that Morrigan dresses like a slut and calling Cassian some slurs. Plus we know that he left Morrigan at the border without touching her (what was he supposed to do, take her to Beron? Srsly, use your brains people. Please.)

None of these things were nice.

But how does this in any way compare to slaughtering a whole village of people for revenge (Cassian)?

Or better yet, to leave a head on a spike in the garden of someone else for shits and giggles, be a ruler for centuries and yet not manage to stop women in your territory from being mutiliated, even though you call yourself the "most powerful High Lord to ever rule" or some shit. Or SA your apparent future wife, also just for fun because he could have left Feyre in the cell in acotar and no one would have given two shits except for Tamlin and Lucien who would have been worried for her. Stealing millenia old artifacts. Threatening to kill everyone who doesn't share your opinion, constantly and therefore jeopardizing an alliance against the main enemy. Keeping mass destruction weapons in your posession without telling anyone outside of your "family" about it. Misusing your wife and mate as a breeder and not even informing her about the fact that she will likely die in childbirth, instead leaving your sister in law to sacrifice the brunt of her own magic to safe her sister. Belittling a man dealing with heavy depression and PTSD for really no apparent reason other than your own petiness, telling him he should kill himself when he's at his lowest AFTER he saved your mates life, your life and essentially turned the tide in a war. And I could go on.

How are the narrative and part of the fandom able to find excuses for Rhysand's fucked up behaviour over and over and paint him the misunderstood hero, but Eris is evil incarnate because he did what again? Left Morrigan at the border, most likely knowing she would be found and taken care of (at the ripe age of...very much younger than her, too, mathematics say) and called Cassian a brute.

"Good to know that after five hundred years, you still dress like a slut." -Eris in acowar to Morrigan. This is him saying she dresses like a slut. Not calling her one.

I'm not trying to make excuses for Eris here. He's an asshole, I'm aware of it, and the absolute majority of his stans are aware of it. But that's about it. So if you make some post about "abusive men", and include Tamlin and Eris, then reflect on what fucked up shit your favs did. Because if saying someone dresses like a slut and leaving her lying around injured but untouched by you (when you have no responsibility for her state at all) is horrible and abusive, I'd like to know what you would call all the shit Rhysand pulled.

On the other hand, I'd like to say something about Neris shippers being racist, because I don't see how? I could honestly care less for how Cassian looks or his ethnicity, this is about him having literally no backbone and treating Nesta like shit throughout acosf when she was clearly not in a good place, mentally. If y'all wanna be degraded for having ugly trauma I can't help you. I liked Nessian in acowar, they had potential. But acosf? Nah.

Alright so. I didn't really think of much for Murphy, like my main issue is whatever Harry and Murphy had romantically going on, I don't really have problems with her as a character. And this is my first time doing headcanons so the formatting is off.

Marcone:

Actually kind of a bastard. He's friendly with Dresden because in the long run it's convenient. Convoluted convenient but Marcone keeps playing the long game.

I really don't think his sexuality matters to him. He has bigger problems. Life-forms are chess pieces to him. If he wants to be successful both on earth and in the never-never, it isn't really useful to contemplate that part of him.

Marcone has kinda had it with Dresden, on the outside he's so professional and so collected. I think it's customer service.

(honestly why does Marcone act vaguely flirty with Dresden? There has to be more reason to it, based on Dresden's descriptions of him (even tho Dresden is an unreliable narrator...))

Is the cold, calculating, magnificent bastard we think he is, and take it some steps further.

If I were to completely ignore canon I would say that Marcone deep down is really anxious. Maybe he shoots up from bed some nights in dread from dreaming about how badly his new enemies could plunge Chicago, the States, and the entire world. (Hehehe and he doesn't know what else would make everything so much worse). Do you think he ever gets that way?

Have you ever thought about what Dresden does with the non-human entities that come onto him? He. Says. No. Every single time. He's actually very interesting like this. He's dealing with creatures that use beauty as a weapon AND HE KNOWS IT. And because he's so lonely and touchstarved his libido is like hmmmmm potential...

I think if he were to just stop, no world to save, no one in danger from forces that he would be best against, no plots using him, he would realize how miserable he is.

So many times has he told his friends to blindly trust him even though he wants to tell them the full truth, and the guilt gets to him.

What he really wants in life is a safe place, a safe life with Maggie, Thomas, McCoy, Karrin, his other friends, and his magic. No monsters to slay, no Chicago on the verge of destruction, nothing out to harm him and his family. Just a calm, happy life.

When he loves people he really, really does love. He wiped out an entire species to save his kid. He held a torch so bright for Susan that their love still had an effect on him for over a decade.

Ignoring canon I would say that if he were real I'd beat him up. Idc if he'd wipe the floor with me I would add to the horrors inside his mind. I'll have to convene with the board (my irl friends) if I am truly that terrifying.

Mainly because I am sick of his love life idc idc he needs friends not this bs.

Mab:

Now you might be thinking, Autixel, what the fuck are you doing? Writing about Mab before Thomas? Molly? Any other more shown character?

But Mab is becoming one of my favorites and it's about how she rules.

I think one facet of her mindset is ends justify the means. She does what she must for the result that matters. This is why Maeve would have never worked. She didn't get that there is a bigger game to it all, or Maeve saw it and didn't care.

When she goes to the human world I kinda imagine her in some 1950s fashion, the sleeker dresses remind me of her.

There's nothing tremendously wrong with her I'm just sick of her crush on Dresden. Both need some hot cocoa and a good cry not whatever the fuck is going on.

I want to believe that she would have made my immortal levels of bad fanfic, maybe one got infamous and was never finished.

Where and who does she swing? Kinda getting pan vibes.

Idc how often the big(ger) blogs praised that part of the story line - it was NOT necessary if the end goal was always to have Buck doing the breaking up for once. Buck cheating, getting bitched at for it, and broken up with? Not my favorite course of action, but: - TayKay would have been able to leave with her head high and - actually facing a consequence of his stupidity could have helped Buck realize that he can't keep falling back on old habits because he's now hurting other people (opinion on TayKay is irrelevant here)

But since Buck had to be the one to leave first, Kristen had to turn TayKay into the bad guy (for real) again to "justify" the split. Buck walking away from a gf who has (in many people's minds) been good to him since coming back in s4? Cheating while she's stayed loyal and making the decision to end things before she can? No, no, no. Buck needs to be the victim. So what's the solution? Drop the cheating arc as if it never happened (TayKay never got brought up when the firefam was "joking" in the truck, remember) and turn TayKay into the women we met back in s2. I might not care for MW and AK (I've never followed their careers), but at least I can admit that the show runner fucked them over for no reason other than to continue babying a grown ass man that doesn't even exist irl.

Hi I’m the anon from before! I definitely wasn’t trying to shit stir lmao and I really appreciate you answering! I have to agree with jily deserving each other but still being awful. I do think it’s interesting that JK called out people’s interest in Draco saying that they were girls who had a “I can fix him” attitude when the relationship she wrote as the golden couple is such a “I can fix him” relationship, not a lot of self awareness with her smh (Also idc about Draco I just think it’s interesting).

Follow up question from the last post: Do you think if lily was made aware of the extent of the bullying (the werewolf incident, him continuing after he was made headboy) after they got married would change anything for her? Or would she just ignore it? Or not even care?

Draco is an interesting one. I wasn't such a huge fan of him when I first started reading the series, but I still think if JKR was even a little bit surprised that the rich haughty blonde boy with a touch of danger (being from a 'dark' family) had a slew of teenage fangirls, then she's forgotten what it's like to be a teenage girl XD

There probably was an element of 'I can fix him' to his popularity, but mostly, I think it was primarily the 'wanting what you can't/shouldn't have'. The same reason that the 'bad boy' persona is attractive in fiction.

The issue of Draco aside, your question is a very difficult one to answer, and it really does depend on how kind you want to be in your interpretation of Lily.

If I were being unkind... the extent of the bullying doesn't matter. By the time Lily's married to James, she's committed to him and their life together, so she would take his side (like a good wife). And I suspect she would take the moral high-ground about it and retroactively justify it with 'well, he's a death eater, so why should I care?'.

If I were being kinder... I think it still wouldn't make much of a difference. It would probably sour her relationship with James, but... like with her friendship with Severus, I think she would 'put up' with a lot of awful shit until it got pointed more directly at her, and only then would it cross a line.

Disclaimers: Near uses they/them pronouns in this, kinda short because I just randomly found out it’s his birthday , idc if this doesn’t line up with the canon timeline/events, this is more centered around his relationship with the other successors because while I do love him it’s hard for me to think of headcanons specifically for him, may have written characters as softer than they are, but that’s only because I’m soft

*I heavily ship him with Matt

*I don’t know what it is. It’s something in the way they look at each other, the way they dress, they way they carry themselves, idk but whatever it is it’s perfect

*I like to imagine them driving in the nighttime while cool music plays in the background

*Before Mello was placed in the successors program, he actually really liked Near

*”No one gets to bully them but me” type of thing

*Was originally the one teaching Near to write before he got mad they were learning it faster than he had

*Even after Mello started distancing himself away from them, Near still tried to reach out to him for a while (I’m imagining Near as a little kid like preschool/kindergarten age in this)

*Mello looked up to Beyond a lot and saw him as an older brother

*Would force himself to do things with Beyond that scared him because he wanted to seem tough (drunk of that big kid mentality like my iPad kid self discovering what woo-hooing is while reading fnaf fanfiction on wattpad in elementary school)

*If Beyond picked up on the fact he was too uncomfortable/scared he would try to deescalate the situation (As I’ve stated before, he cared about very few people in his life, but this is his little brother we’re talking about)

*Would encourage Matt to do better and rank higher while also not wanting him to rank higher than himself (he didn’t say that though)

*Mello used to be one of those little kids who would snitch on you for absolutely anything

*But that stopped when he was trying to be cool to impress Beyond

this is a huge diary post that i will put under a read more, part 1 is venting bs i have written a thousand times and part 2 is my ocs talk

i don’t mean to be like this but i hate my ex best friend today. i mean i hate her everyday and like i don’t want anything bad to happen to her but i also hope she never has friends ever again lol. like realistically that’s not possible bc i’m sure she’s manipulating and creating another cheating relationship as we speak lol. i still think of her as slimy, disgusting, and vile. it rly tears me up to think of someone this way but i genuinely don’t think she really deserves any relief happiness or comfort until she actually sees how horrible she is. which will never happen. is it okay to say hope she rots? because i do and i don’t. i think if she left her abusive husband she’d be free but since she’ll just force herself to stay and cheat on him until the end of time like. may they both suffer lol

an irl friend pointed out that she was manipulating me the second time we tried to be friends when she randomly started saying she missed me/missed our connection/basically saying she missed what we had. i opened it, left on read, and didn’t reply for two days to say i don’t feel the same way. and she coped and suddenly said “i was just feeling sad and lonely” 💀 what? then added “i just really missed our connection” omg… bc she saw the real me who was soft forgiving and gentle and she called me dangerous when i started having a backbone. like when i established boundaries and said i wanted to break up she was so mad at me for having boundaries. she wrote me 16 pages in a google doc on how it’s all my fault and literally wrote 16 pages abt how her using me is my fault. lol

she literally said “i used you”. like i’m not over this idc if this was like a year ago jow this is so fucked is extra bc she inserted herself into my father’s funeral and then coped and basically said she still liked me “but just psychologically i’m actually over you” basically LOL… she’s not over me. she inserted me into her marriage. she misses my attention, not me.

when i broke up for the final time i literally said we were never best friends. a best friend doesn’t use you like that. she lost all her friends bc of this but it’s also her fault for not keeping up with everyone and trying to tell her side. what kind of side could she tell? lol? “yeah i used (whatever name i used at the time) because they gave me attention and made me feel special but when (name) didn’t want to be my side piece and started to have boundaries i started to maliciously say cruel things to hurt (name) as well as allowed my husband to make (name) continuously uncomfortable and told (name) it was his problem and that i liked conflict and when (name)‘s father died i inserted myself there because it made ME feel better” like. how would she justify what she did to me. fr.

it’s like i know one day i’ll feel better about it but i’m not even victimizing myself. i know i said a lot of rworded shit and that i was flip flopping with my emotions but she continued to being deliberately cruel and deliberately pushing my boundaries because it wasn’t the same as before and i wasn’t going to be her dog anymore

the next thing on my mind is the dream i had. i have 3 ocs who are young trans boys, for whatever reason, i am always seeing through their eyes and also i get to basically “be them”. last night the boy i got to be was a trans non-binary boy named arthur, i think that name was 100% from my subconscious bc i’m using it lately.

i wanna mention my two other child ocs, artur who is a 14 year old cis french boy who has middle child syndrome and keita, a 15 year old japanese american transboy in foster care. they both came from dreams and both have different stories

so although this oc’s name was arthur in the dream i actually wanted to call him ilya. some of his story was taken from the dream about artur— has the same type number of siblings

in ilya’s family there is mom, step dad, older brother with different father, older sister with another different father, ilya’s father lives somewhere in europe. in dream was france but i think the story may be more interesting to have his father be german. he has two younger siblings from his step father who he calls by first name.

he has a complicated relationship with his family, and he has a complicated identity. every summer since he was born, his parents would trade him off (no matter the difficulty) so he could be with his father. his mother and father had a one night stand 14-17 years ago (not sure of ilya’s age yet) and this coming summer, is the second year in a row his father has had work in belgium during june and july. i think ilya is american but speaks fluent german as well as taught by vatti. he probably just calls him dad lol.

i think ilya by exact definition would be a demiboy. he doesn’t necessarily know all those terms but he is rollin w da lgbt. lol

his family does call him by his name and pronouns. and the reason his father is dodging him is literally because of work. he’s always gotten to have a mostly good relationship with ilya— and he is proud of him for coming out. but, he’s a bit of an absent father, always more concerned with his own life. he was 27 when ilya was born, and has always adored him. due to his own upbringing, he’s never been that expressive. but he’s nothing like his own father, or even his brother (i think the cousins from his father’s brother would be in contact with ilya online and whenever he comes to visit. they love him because ilya naturally has an easy going and artistic nature.)

while keita’s rising sign personality is “cool charmer”, i think artur’s is “funny sweetheart” and ilya’s would be “easy going artsy type”. in the dream ilya was doing the art for some kind of project in school. i remember looking at lockers in a school highway through his eyes

i remember ilya having a cis male best friend, they were touchy and it was normal. but i felt that ilya had a crush on this boy, who was oblivious and also still called ilya as a girl but ilya didn’t mind. i think ilya would say “i don’t care but you have to call me ilya”. and his friend would be like, oh cool okay. his friend is a bit of sunny jock who had a gf. i remember ilya wasn’t rly jealous of the gf though, the feelings for the best friend felt sincere in the way he’d rather his friend be with someone he actually has romantic feelings for. i think there would maybe be some drama where the kids are getting drunk at some stupid high school house party lol and ilya admits it on his friend’s lap. his friend feels shocked and pretty bad :( idk what to name the friend maybe ummm… dylan! that’s good!

okay, i think i’ll stop here for now, i have written a lot and it feels better to write my feelings and oc ideas out

In other words, you know what isn’t in their show? Poc playing human non-servant characters. But you know what IS in their show? ✨Incest✨

Yup. With nothing more than an offhand comment this show is gonna have two literal cousins play love interests. Idc if they change the cast later on like how was hinted at in an interview the normalization and nonchalance attitude about COUSINS playing those roles was already established as just something u can brush off with a “not thinking about it”.

And there’s a lot of servant object roles and also a lot of poc/minority roles so obviously it was bound to happen for a myriad of reasons that some of the white characters get leads and some of the poc get the objects. That’s normal. What ISNT normal is how they could bend over backwards to justify why the plus size white girl getting belle is revolutionary and inclusive but not even attempt to 1. Not have incest and 2. Cast even one poc character as a lead.

They tried to make us out as crazy when people got mad Kourtney wasn’t Belle by trying to be like “oh we were throwing you off” but the reason that excuse fell short was because they didn’t throw us off at all. The case scenario was NOT that one week they dropped something that had us thinking it was one girl and the next week had us thinking it was another. It was that they always had us thinking it was going to be Kourtney. They weren’t throwing us off they were leading us on. In the end it comes off as we rather have a weird incest vibe going on than have the black girl we baited you with be an actual lead.

And Tim would probably see this and say something like “That’s not what I meant. I didn’t think of it that way when I cast this person as this and that person as that.” and it’s like of COURSE you didn’t. Of course you didn’t think of what the black people, and the latino people, or the asian people might think of how you’re portraying the characters that look like them on screen. You’ve never had to. Tim may be gay but he is also white and a man and that awards him privileges even within his own minority group. So of course it’s not even slightly surprising to me that all these things slipped by him without any notice. It’s cuz he can afford not to notice. But it being unsurprising doesn’t make it any less upsetting. It’s still bullsh** that they would literally rather contradict their own plot points than have the minority characters be anything other than harmful stereotypes just because THEY don’t see why it’s so bad.

P.S. this is not for any hate directed towards the actors. All of them are just workers locked under contract trying to do their jobs and get payed. They have no control over the stories that Tim and his writing team decide to write. If you take anything other than that the writers are responsible and try to go after the actors for just doing their jobs then you’ve completely missed the point of ALL of this.

I'm annoyed when women criticise certain characters it's always labelled as misogyny. For example criticising peggy for literally working with n*zis and knowing what they did in her agency. But we don't even have to go to TWS and later films to criticise her. She wasn't that good in TFA. She literally shot Steve (she barely knew him) out of jealousy. I don't care even if they were dating and he cheated on her she had no right to shoot him (also it wouldn't be cheating cause he was literally SA'd but even if he willingly kissed the girl he would be doing nothing wrong). Or the fact she got upset he chose bucky aka his best friend over her because she put on a red dress boohoo or when she romantically ignored him until he got buff or when she (also hayley atwell is responsible for that cause "she couldn't help herself and had to touch chris Evans's chest) touched his chest without constent. Or kissing him without consent. One character who was hated because of misogyny was Sharon now I really don't care if people like her or not but only thing people criticise her for is her getting kissed by Steve(also idc about how he "turned out to be her uncle" because this bullshit started way before endgame). But most won't call that misogyny. Same goes for Wanda. She is mostly hated for misogynistic reasons but yet most people don't call it out. Carol I think gets called out more but still most is based on misogyny. God forbid Sylvie and Peggy get criticised though...

Ain't that the truth.

I vividly remember the only hater I've had to deal with on here last year claiming I was a misogynist for not liking Sylvie, they sent me a few messages defending all women but shit-talking Valkyrie. At that point I checked and they had been defending white women but not Val... kind of makes you think, doesn't it? 🤷

I never liked Peggy because she felt like a man's dream. She's perfect. She's not allowed a damn flaw, everything she does is supposedly right... I hate characters like that (which is why I love Wanda and Carol and Val and Nat and Yelena, they're all flawed and have done some shit but they don't hide it).

Also, the fact that people think that scene of her shooting at Steve is a feminist™ move drives me up the wall, especially when you compare that to how Steve handles it when he thinks Peggy and Howard are "foundeing": he only asks, looks a little hurt but he leaves it there. She acts like she owns him and she's the only one for him. Reverse the roles and people would be calling Steve all kinds of names (and they weren't even dating when that woman kissed him!).

I could write a million words about how much I don't like her so I'll just leave this post here that explains it all really well.

As for Sharon, I always liked her. She was great in TWS and CW: spying on Steve without him realizing it (that's not easy!), she stood up against Hydra and defended her coworkers, she passed info about Bucky and grabbed their suits for them... and yeah she got a kiss. So freaking what? I never understood why so many people got mad at that but the part that pisses me off is that from that point on anything and everything Sharon does doesn't matter because the only thing that defines her is that kiss. Then they turned her into a villain in TFATWS... sigh.

Now, about Wanda I gotta say I've read so much crap since the MoM trailer was released... I think people are justified in expressing the double standards in Marvel but I hate how the context of Westview is ignored, based on a lot of posts on here you'd think she kidnapped that town because she felt like hurting innocent people (never mind her state of mind at the time). I'm not sure those criticizing her do it out of misogyny, it could be that they just don't like her character, but it does surprise me the level of vitriol against her.

And I'm afraid most if not all of the hate Carol gets is from fanboys who hate Brie for being a wonderful out-spoken woman who's not afraid to speak her mind. That and being the first woman to get a movie for herself.

So yeah this got long enough, sorry about that 😅 I'll just add that misogyny is definitely a thing in fandom, and we need to call out those who talk shit about women, but we also have to differentiate between the fans who don't like a female character (and give reasons as to why they don't) and fans who don't like a female character because she's a woman.

And just one more thing: you don't need to defend all women to be a feminist. Feminism isn't about putting women above men and acting like we're all perfect, that shit is exactly what the patriarchy has been saying all this time. We're flawed, we want to be allowed to be flawed, and some of us are seriously fucked up. Calling that out is not anti-women and it will never be.

i think killing techno would only really be moving of there was a genuinely reasoning behind it and not just because you want to see techno die. like some narrative purpose. like if you want character development you don’t really need death to do that.

death can be used as a powerful device but only if it’s actually meaningful and necessary. it’s like writing abuse or something along those lines. it impacts more if written as a plot point and cause rather than some add-on character aspect.

here’s and example of techno dying in a meaningless way that doesn’t actually lead to any character development when actually look at it:

techno dies for or dies to philza for what ever reason. it reinforces the strength of their bond but doesn’t actually make him think of the other characters in any other light other than enemies and presents him as a torture martyr rather than the flawed character y’all want. techno dying for phil? will not have as big as you guy want if you are looking for character development.

techno dying in a fight would mean nothing because that’s unrealistic and even then shares the same problem because that still will not make him want to be a better person.

yall wanna kill techno? make it matter.

for starters, cut out the immediate desire for death and actually at the goal at hand.

this is a scene where techno realizes that what he is doing and who he is, is not a good person thing. okay. this is an awakening, an intervention. not all those involve death.

the death itself should not be the thing that changes technos mind.

if we want to give meaning behind the previous situation, then make the focal point not the death itself, but the thoughts behind it.

let’s start off with the characters himself. techno believes the ends justify the means. it shows in the way he thinks in a lot of cases his judgment will benefit others no matter how much they don’t agree with the same sentiment. he also seems to be blind and ignorant to a lot of emotional struggles and turmoil other people face while wanting people to acknowledge his own.

techno’s death should embody growth and play a small but important role in solidifying his development.

if y’all want betrayal so bad then i give you this:

philza and ranboo find out more about the events of season one. they don’t agree with it. they try talking it out with techno but he gets defensive and explains it from his perspective. they respect that, but combined with the influx of conflicting emotions techno being stubborn, it ends with a falling out.

techno is now pretty alone. philza and ranboo haven’t stopped caring about him but they can’t talk to him right now. but sides are strained and techno assumes they have left him like everyone else.

techno would still try to justify things. its a defense behavior when confronted with information you don’t want to hear. he goes to tubbo and tries to reassure himself that the firework thing didn’t matter as much as they are making it out to be. that tubbo probably doesn’t even think to hard about it. instead tubbo explains that just because he forgave him doesn’t make the trauma and the scars fade. it doesn’t mean he was all healed. even if it was peer pressure, tubbo still died and it was by technos hand. he has the right to fear him, to see him as a threat.

and that would probably stick. intentions aside, it still happened. he was still capable of doing it. and while it wouldn’t be an immediate change, it would be a seed.

continuing on a trail of little moments that make techno realize that a lot of his actions, intentions aside, warranted a lot of the responses. that his willingness to play into his “The Blade” persona was what made people so willing to see him that way. that while he knows he wants to be a good person, not many others know that.

and so he makes slow changes. slowly but surely trying to fix this disconnect between how he sees himself and how others see him.

and this goes on with the other plot points too. i don’t think techno will probably be the one to free dream. i think it’s most likely wilbur will or at least someone else. plus this is a drabble idc.

anyways so yea, dream is free and he is set on taking revenge. the entire smp doesn’t like this man so i don’t think he’ll have techno on his side initially. instead i want it to parallel tubbo’s execution.

techno is forced with the decision. kill everyone one or don’t. the tensions are a lot higher here as well.

and instead he declines. refusing to continue to be some formless weapon for people. dream tries to convince by comparing what he is doing for the others by standing and fighting with them as the same, but here’s the thing. techno is with them because he wants to be and wants to protect his loved ones. he isn’t some big boss card here to turn the tides. he is just another soldier.

and so dream decides fine. another soldier then just another casualty and tells techno to kill himself if he won’t kill the others. and he does, but not before promising to return the favor.

boom development. it was his decision not death that was meaningful here. it was the journey not destination that mattered.

techno dying means nothing if not given proper meaning.

Really from a story perspective i dont mind jacob moving on and dating cole it just should have been handled way way better like

- i actually liked drew. im so sorry to everyone who hates her but full offence, why. think about it this way ok, first of all drew became hc because silena died. silena was the traitor, the one who betrayed chb, yet after she died campers celebrated her as a hero? and then drew suddenly has to replace her and live up to idk that legacy she left behind,, when all of a sudden this girl named piper swoops in and takes her place. idk abt u but i wld be salty abt that too. not only that, but as an asian, the chances of drew having faced racism/bullying as a child is pretty high (she studies at brooklyn academy). which means that when she finds out shes a demigod, and arrives at chb where most of the campers are white (this is an assumption btw), she’d obviously be scared of being bullied for her skin color right?? so the first thing she wld do before the campers get to bully her is to bully them before they can do so. (sentence structure here is wack i apologize) ofc this might not even have happened, drew could have had a perfect childhood && was a b1tch for no reason, BUT EVEN THEN HER ROLE AS A BULLY WAS PRETTY VITAL BECAUSE THAT FURTHER SHOWED THE CONTRAST BETWEEN HER AND PIPER,, HIGHLIGHTING PIPER AS A HERO//GOOD CHARACTER,, AND THEREFORE MAKING READERS LIKE PIPER MORE. anyway stop hating on drew please. AND THEN GREEK DEMIGODS COME TO CJ AND ONE OF THEM BOMB IT UP?? octavian has been told all his life that greeks are scum and this dude called leo valdez attacks cj. sure it was an accident, but did octavian know that? no. so it was honestly justified that he was such a salty prick im just saying. also some of yall be hating on octavian for cutting a teddy bear open and thats the funniest shit ive ever heard i swear

- luke didnt go to elysium

- travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

- tratie shldve been canon idc idc

- demigods of the demeter cabin arent talked about enough and i love the fact that meg was demeters kid. like she isnt the child of one of the big three yet shes so powerful.

- we need to hype clarisse up more her character arc was phucking amazing

- rachel is overhated. sis found out greek gods exist and regularly come down to earth to fuck around and went “ok cool”. queen shit behavior methinks

- the floor 19 crew of mcga is srsly underrated. like do u even remember halfborn gunderson, mallory keen, tj, etc??? bc i feel like we only remember samirah, magnus, alex, and sometimes blitz and hearthstone

- sadie (tkc) was kinda annoying at first. i like her more now tho but i rmb not liking her for a phat while

- tkc and mcga need more love

- carter kane and jason grace arent boring. theyre just really sweet boys who are too good for this world and yes yes yes

- hazel and frank (especially frank) need to be hyped up more. i hardly ever see anything about them. also yall seem to forget that frank was literally made praetor and that even hecate admired hazel and was willing to fight beside her because of how powerful she was

- frazels age gap is kinda sketch but i still think theyre really cute

- nico definitely had trauma from going to tartarus on his own

- GROVER IS PERCYS BEST FRIEND

- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.

- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong.

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up. the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

Everything is perfect, really. I don't know what to add, YOU COMPLETELY NAILED IT. Unfortunately I don't remember the book perfectly, so I probably won't be very helpful😩 BUT-

First thing: I TOTALLY FORGOT HIS FULL NAME WAS ALISTAIR OMG THIS IS FATE

And YES. Alastair and Lister are similar in so many ways (especially if we consider their backstories and struggles, apart from the alcoholism). Also, I always got the feeling that Lister carries a deep loneliness around, even when he spends time with his friends (probably bc of his interior struggles) and with Alastair....isn't exactly the same??? Like, even when he's around people he cares about (like Cordelia or Thomas) he seems so lonely and melancholic, as if he constantly felt the burden of his past mistakes and fears. Wow, I made myself sad :)

And TOM AND JIMMY? OH MY GOD. WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME CRY GIRL????

They basically share the same personality😭 both unsure and quiet, but affectionate and kind. And I always thought Thomas might have anxiety (basically bc of everything you've just pointed out) so when you compared him to Jimmy it totally made sense to me.

Also Jimmy is the one who write songs, right? (I could be wrong tho) beCAUSE IN THAT CASE- ouch🥺 Do I really need to comment this?

how would you rank the seasons from least to most favourite?

alright okay right off the bat worst season season 7. for starters i think this season has no staying power i mean like since i’ve been running this blog 4 so long now my knowledge of charmed is encyclopedic and insanely vast more than like it ever need be but for the longest time. i could not remember season 7. like wtf even happened there?? evidently leo became human??? cole returned? the avatars??? like all of it was just. it’s not even necessarily forgettable it’s just i straight up could not remember it for the longest time. and i’ve said it before the concept of utopia was way to advanced for a show like charmed to tackle i am not watching charmed for moral philosophy i am watching bc i love these girls ♥ hee hee hoo hoo magic adventure ✨ tho if i am to offer a single comment on utopia: it’s awfully rich for a show to go on about destiny and fate and then take a stand against utopia in the name of free will. but w/e. i don’t like leo in the avatars i don’t like his dynamic with piper in this season i don’t like whatever phoebe’s doing this season there’s like leslie?? maybe there’s someone else? boring & flavorless they should have been setting up her endgame instead of puttering around. and kyle. zoo wee mama. could have been a great antihero. morally gray. duplicitous. self serving. but no. they gave him all those traits and called him hero/love interest. s7 left a lot to be desired out of the characters and their relationships also gave us phat L’s such as the charmed ones are werewolves don’t worry about it and feminism peaked with naked women. shout out to zankou: demon, dilf, dub & the noir episode.

you know what? fuck it i’ll say it second worse season 5 genuinely fuck season five. this is probably a Very Specific beef 2 me But. i hate what they did to the charmed universe. this was the season that marked the transition of charmed from supernatural drama to campy soap which like. i love camp! i do! but fr. fuck this season and what it did to the worldbuilding. the early season have Such A Vibe to them man with warlocks and witches and just a couple niche monsters from assorted lore that the show took and made their own. season five opens with mermaids goes directly into fairytales then gives us superheros whatever the fuck was going on in that mummy episode the sandman leprechauns and nymphs. and i hate it for that. it takes away from this urban fantasy things that go bump in the night what lurks in the shadows of the back alleys of san francisco in favor of the ugliest cinderella dress ever put to television and an onslaught of horrible irish accents for a full episode. other issues with season five: cole’s still here? why? they don’t know and neither will you! we’re not redeeming him! phoebe’s not getting back together with him! yes he died we just refuse to let him go! the cherry on top of course being a cole-centric 100th episode. shout out to. hmm. lemme think about what i actually liked about this season. i like jason dean as a love interest i don’t remember what he did in s5 but i know he was there. the season finale i’ve talked about how stupid & shitty it was but idc i still love that episode and then shout out to bacarra the only original villain this season that was a proper serve. the crone gets second place.

next on this come on we all saw it coming season 8. it’s a bad season! and i get bts there was a whole lot happening budget cuts missing actor etc. but it goes beyond that. it was a bad season. billie and christie were bad. and i’ve said this before but billie in herself is not an inherently bad character. she was just the literal worst for the show. she was a dollar store buffy blonde confident cocky skilled and ready 2 fight evil But. we are not following her like we followed buffy we are following her mentors. it’s like if we had a show called giles that aired for seven seasons And Then buffy showed up. billie was insanely irritating to watch from our perspective and in general wasn’t like. well written. attempts to humanize her / give her more depth often fell flat. and then christy. oh nelly. oh my god. barely a character. not well acted but hey it would have been a miracle if she was. negatives include dumain who was a mess omg bringing back the triad bringing back the source billie & christy obvi and also involving homeland security. which is season 7′s fault which is why it’s the worst. dubs on the other hand include both coop and henry i really liked them the shoehorned love interests weren’t great but i like their characters i though the way the got rid of leo to save on the budget was really creative and gave us a great piper episode and of course the sugary sweet finale i love it i do what can i say.

yet another controversial choice aptly coming in fourth is season 4. i respect what season 4 set out to do. i think it was a good idea. long form narratives, keeping a darker tone, focusing on character-driven drama and growth. too bad it fucking failed miserably at all of this. cole as the source and phoebe as the queen of hell was just so so botched. they had a very unique opportunity following the death of prue to explore these characters and what it means to them to be charmed, to be witches. they saved the world but the cost is insanely high. they’ve lost an older sister. they’ve gained a new sister. how do you even begin to cope with all this? episodes such as hell hath no fury and brain drain fuck so hard because they work with exactly that. had the whole season been like those episode season four would sit at number one with flying colors absolutely no competition. but alas. we can’t have nice things. the show got so bogged down with phoebe & cole, in a way that was just so, so messy. for starters, whether you loved cole or hated him before, we can all agree source!cole sucked. he was such a strong 180 from what we had seen that the show had to make the source some type of possession to justify half the shit they were trying to pull. and then to pit phoebe and paige against one another over a man was just. disgusting. and the ending of course felt rushed because it was! they wrapped up that entire issue in a nice little bow much faster than they reasonably should have been able to. it could have been a great season. it was definitely not. shout out to the seer an iconic mastermind on barbas levels, as previously stated brain drain and hell hath no fury Specific shout out to piper’s scene at prue’s grave shout out to paige as a character i like what they did with her and um. yeah that’s it.

okay we’re exiting the shit tier in favorite of the good tier welcome to the upper half. kicking us off is season 6. season 6 did what season 4 could not in that it gave us a long form plot that still left plenty of room for like. normal demon of the week episodes. i love phoebe early in this season with her faboo haircut her brand new empathy power and her relationship with jason dean. obvious strikes against for whatever the fuck that baby crazy stint was and also the mata hari episode. yikes. i love paige’s hair color in this season nothing paige as a character necessarily stands out to me however i like how they seem to have hit the blend of work-magic with paige where she wants a life and career outside of magic however she still loves the craft and embraces is with an open heart and mind. season six also gives us chris who was a very fun male lead imo we really didn’t have many like him he’s bitchy. he whines and bitches a lot he’s got an agenda he’s a bit secretive but at the end of the day he just wants a family i like him. i like the character growth we see out of piper i like seeing her try to move on from leo i love seeing her get back together with leo i like her dynamic with chris and her fears about motherhood. i also liked richard but that one takes a lot of justification. L’s are witchstock hyde school reunion used karma off the top of my head also the paige/richard/addiction plotline was so tone deaf. also the girls were mean to darryl : ( he deserved so much better. dubs were chris as a character, tbh the episode little monsters, phoebe with empathy specifically saying i love you too to jason i could write a dissertation on that line alone also the courtship of wyatt’s father and i thought the reveals of evil wyatt and chris being piper and leo’s son were both fun and interesting plot twists.

coming in third is actually season 2 a season i really do love it’s just. it lacks structure. imo there is a lot to love about season 2 morality bites and pardon my past are both delightful time travel episodes we get jack sheridan and bane jessup two of my personal favorite prue love interests we get p3 h2o and a great prue plotline regarding the death of patty we get the super cute cupid episode it’s a great. collection of episodes. it’s not a great season. there’s just imo not a strong enough thread connecting the stories together it’s mainly held together by having the same characters in it over and over again i really liked dan personally but like. i knew we were wasting time there. he was just an obstacle. a super cute loving and caring obstacle who’s great with kids but lbr piper and leo were always endgame. wasting our time on dan was stupid. i do love the sister dynamics in season two “gotta hand it to those pesky little demons they sure have brought us closer together” but again. this season could have benefitted from a rex and hannah type or even like a cole or zankou. this season is less of a season and more of just like a handful of episodes, and while there are some fat dubs, there are also some definite swings & misses. shout out to the time travel episodes the prue centric episodes phoebe’s character growth and maturity throughout this season (e.g. her going back to college) and i also think the fashion got a lot more fun this season.

second place i’m saying season one season one was a really strong start and gave us these really compelling characters with interesting relationships between one another But. a lot of it just kinda falls flat. and credit where credit is due it was a brand new show getting its feet under it but the fourth sister feats of clay which prue is it anyway they just simply aren’t dubs imo. also i don’t like that 70′s episode bc again i am an asshole concerned about The Lore i can’t believe one bitch ass warlock caused the Charmed Ones to grow up without powers. it just really bugs me. all in all the plots as a whole like aren’t great imo they’re nothing to write home about (save for from fear to eternity) it’s really the characters that make this season so goddamn good.

first place congratulations to the one the only season three. this is just because it kinda hits all my requirements in that it has some banger one offs (e.g. all halliwell’s eve, the good, the bad, and the cursed) it has an overarching plot at the exact same time as the source becomes more prominent and obvi cole is also there with murderous intent i like the character growth we see especially from prue i like piper and leo finally get married overall i really like the aesthetic of this season that blends a darker urban fantasy tone with still some charmed fashion and whimsy. strikes against tbh phoebe and cole’s relationship i am insanely picky with my enemies to lovers and the do not come remotely close to cutting the mustard in fact they are almost immediately disqualified however from afar i can see and respect The Drama. shout out to recasting victor prue with pistols death as a character and shannen directing episodes

#and of course this is a matter of opinion i'm not expecting everyone to agree w me Howver #i think you'd also be hard pressed to talk me out of my opinion #like the closer you get to the top there's more wiggle room like what's the best season i think changes with the wind #but the shit tier stays shit tier in my mind it's a matter of personal preference and i personally prefer my season to be good #charmed #💌

I wrote this a while ago. I just want to share it here because this is my new Mysme blog.

Sooo. The main reason why people hate Yoosung so much it's because he's ''obsessed'' with Rika and wants MC to fill that void.

First of all, he only compares MC to Rika for like... 2 or 4 days. The whole story is 11 days long. People act like he does this throughout his whole route, which is not true AT ALL. If you're trying to get the good ending, the moment you tell him to STOP comparing you to Rika and that you are NOT her, HE STOPS. HE DOESN'T BRING IT UP ANYMORE. HE JUST STOPS. This whole Rika drama thing only lasts for literally 2 or 4 days. That's it.

SECOND OF ALL, I am not even mad that he wants MC to be Rika. It is totally understandable and justified. You know why? Because he never coped with her death properly. Rika was the most important person in the world to him.

I haven't played MM in uh... A year, so I don't remember the details. BUT, Yoosung became a better student thanks to Rika. He had goals and aspirations thanks to her. She meant everything to him. And no, he was not in love with her.

So Rika dies. And Yoosung finds out THE DAY OF HIS GRADUATION. Mind you, he was a GREAT student, so OBVIOUSLY, this day was important to him??? But now the person that means the most to him is dead? AND HIS FRIENDS WON'T TELL HIM ANYTHING!!

THAT IS THE WORST PART. ALSO, the rest of the RFA treated him VERY badly. And it's terrible considering he's younger than all of them and they're supposed to be friends... Rika's death clearly affected him so much. He went from being class president (I think?) and getting good grades, to skipping classes in college and playing video games all day. HE IS CLEARLY NOT DOING WELL AT ALL. NOT EVEN A TINY BIT. AND IT'S OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE OF RIKA'S DEATH.

And what do the rest of the RFA do??? Make fun of him for being obsessed with LOLOL, tell him that he is too short, that his hoodie is ugly, that his life is a mess. Seriously? Instead of making those comments, have you tried to stop and think WHY he's acting the way he is???

You think that it's normal that this kid who used to be an amazing student and had goals, suddenly doesn't care about his future at all anymore??? YOU THINK THAT'S NORMAL?? I love the RFA, but they're awful friends to Yoosung, idc. Specially the older ones. They really suck.

So yeah, Yoosung never coped with Rika's death well, so of course he wants MC to fill that void. He meets this new person who is going to be doing Rika's job and he gets excited. IT MAKES SENSE. YOU CAN'T BLAME HIM FOR THAT.

The RFA should have helped him, instead of making jokes about him and ignoring his problems.

Isayama is trying to make Gabi the Azula(Avatar) of Snk. They both look similar. The eyes, the hairstyle, related to a villain, better at everything, mental upbringing. I feel more sympathy for Azula, because I saw HER CHILDHOOD explain why she's so mean to others. All I see of Gabi is her with her brainwashed parents and thats it. No reason why she treats her own friends like shit. What's your comment on the theory on Gabi's character being inspired by Azula?

Ummm....they're NOT the same? Like, at all?

Ignoring the fact that Azula never (permanently) killed a fan-favorite character, she has quite a complex background that we learn more about as the series progresses. She wants her parents' approval, and while she has it from her father, she doesn't feel it from her mother. Of course, her father's "love" is entirely conditional on her loyalty and usefulness to him, and not getting it has some serious psychological ramifications for Azula that we see in the finale as well as the comics.

And I suppose you COULD compare Ozai to Marley in terms of their "love" being conditional on the loyalty/usefulness of others. But the difference between Ozai and Marley as they are presented in their respective narratives is that Ozai is NEVER portrayed as justified in any way. Marley, on the other hand, whether through the Warriors or it's citizens in Liberio, are suddenly cast as "not evil, just misunderstood". Where ATLA condemns Nazism, AoT embraces it. Or at least just enough to pretend to be more "neutral" than it really is.

Also, while Azula is her own character that parallels her brother Zuko, Gabi Braun is a complete ripoff of Eren, minus his redeeming qualities. And while Azula is never excused for her heinous actions, Gabi is supposed to be praised for hers. And objectively speaking, in terms of personality, background, development, and relevance, Gabi Braun is a terrible character. Azula is not.

And to get a little more wide-scale, both series tend to embrace the "revenge is bad" narrative, which has ALWAYS rubbed me the wrong way, because realistically, once you cross a certain line, death is the only suitable punishment (looking at you, RBA). And IDC if TLA is a kids show, I fully believe Katara should have killed Yon-Rha for what he did, much like I believe Mr. Braus, Nicolo, Mikasa, and Kaya should have killed Gabi Braun. That being said, I do not consider Katara weak OR cowardly for choosing to spare her mother's killer. She gets a pass because not only did she not forgive him, she also didn't hesitate to try to kill Azula when there was no other option, so she clearly isn't too weak to make tough choices.

Now, Mr. Braus? Fucking pathetic human for not avenging his own daughter, just letting her be part of the "family". Nicolo only needing a derpy "forest" speech to let go of his (justifiable) hatred? Pathetic. Mikasa sparing her friend's killer by stopping Kaya from getting revenge? Traitorous, and it made me lose all love and respect for Mikasa. I don't hate Kaya for suddenly NOT wanting to kill Gabi (despite the fact Gabi completely deserve to die), but it's definitely bad writing for Isayama to just make her forgive Gabi after wanting her dead. All because he suddenly had a boner for Gabi Sue and thinks his self-insert waifu deserves more screentime than the main characters whom the fandom actually loves and cares about.

Honestly, the fact that people could compare AoT with TLA as if AoT could ever surpass TLA in terms of quality, writing, character development, AND cultural relevance is laughable. How could anyone possibly think Gabi is on the same level as Azula when the latter is far more entertaining, complex and likable than GabBitch?
