Description: after missing your flight to toronto for your next tour stop. you’re stranded in a random city with nothing but $20, a guitar, a suitcase full of clothes and a small tattooed guitarist who seems to not like you very much.

“know where you’re going?”

“of course i fucking know where i’m going” you huffed, one hand on the suitcase, the other hand gripping the phone, google maps displayed on the screen.

“doesn’t seem like it.” you snap your head to glare at the other person beside you. she’s staring at the sky, cigarette between her lips. leaned up against the wall, suitcase settled beside her with the guitar case propped up on the ground.

“have you nothing better to do than complain?” you tilted your head, squinting as the rain splashed down aggressively on your head. one hand over your eyes. the tattooed woman shrugged her shoulders. “s’kinda fun watching you just give out” she gave a nod towards the phone in your hand “stop getting distracted princess. we have places to be”

“we have places to be” you mocked in a high pitched tone as you rolled your eyes “and whose fault is it that we’re in this situation?”

“hey, don’t blame me! blame the taxi cab”

“ oh yeah. i’ll blame the taxi driver who was late bringing us to the airport because you lost your goddamn phone in the hotel room” you waved your arms in the air as your voice got louder

“how could i leave my phone there? it had all my documents, my lyrics and bank details on it!” julien snapped back.

“we missed the fucking flight, julien! a flight to goddamn canada! we’re in california” you sighed loudly, getting more annoyed.

“there isn’t any more flights this week, due to this stupid fucking storm. we’re stranded here and we have a show in two days” you wiped the rain off the phone screen, zooming in to look at the nearest location to a hotel.

“it’s fine-“ julien leaned off the wall. grabbing her suitcase and guitar. “get a cheap hotel for the night, rent a car and drive over to toronto, simple. we’ll make it there in no time”

“that’s easy for you to say” you scoffed, walking ahead of her, following the map.

“it’s true. what’s the worst that can happen?”

A silly little SK appreciation post (may or may not be silly and or little)

Wow, 15 years. One long time, isn't it? I feel like starkid has sorta become a personality trait of mine. I'm the "starkid obsessed" one in my friend group. I make it very very obvious that I adore this group, everything they've done. From the fandom least favorites, to their most adored shows, I love it all. I don't think I'd really be the same person without these shows. I feel like that's a really big thing to say about something I'm not a part of nor have I been in the fandom for too long (i mean 2 and a half years is kinda long?) but I do think I can say I wouldn't be the same. It's gotten me into musicals that aren't Hamilton, that's already a great thing they've done! I've met some of the most amazing people through this fandom, talking about the shows themselves, they've made me laugh, cry, and throw things at my wall more than most pieces of media ever could. I'm rewatching avpm and just finding myself feeling really nostalgia for that old starkid feel. I mean I'm SO excited for Cinderella's Castle, I think from a technical standpoint it'll be their best show yet, but that put together college vibe just hits something for me, I can't describe it. The poorly made sets, the cheap costumes, the fact it's so low quality just makes it a better experience. And the music from these shows is just spectacular! Starkid has some of the best composers ever, I don't know how they find such talent.

I feel that since Hatchetfield released, npmd especially, those older shows aren't as talked about. Which is fair, we may be running out of things to talk about, but I think just rewatching them is an experience. If you haven't gone back and seen starkids older shows, there's truly no better time to start than now. You won't regret it. The fact some of yall don't know the amazing talent of their older actors hurts my soul to think about, we need more appreciation for just all the actors that aren't in the Hatchetfield shows.

Anyways, long story short, starkid is amazing, it's changed my life for the better, I love you all members of SK (doubt any of them will see this but I'll say it anyways), something something fuck clivesdale, something something this is all jafar's fault, and it's been totally awesome :)

The hammer came down on the crucible, taking out the guardian. But the relief of its defeat wasn’t there for Gwenifar. Gale was too close; he was too injured. Seeing it coming down behind him, right in front of her, Gwenifar knew the shock would be too much. And she didn’t make it in time. The force sent him flying forward and she raced to catch him.

               “Gale! No!” He wasn’t responding. She knelt down with him in her arms, looking him over. Fear sank like a cold knife in her cut, her hand cupping his cheek then moving down, trying to feel a pulse. It was there. Good. He was just…Knocked out. But even still. Seeing him like that, bruised, bloodied, and unconscious caused a painful twist in her chest. “Gale, darling. Wake up, please!” A small prayer from her lips and a warmth from her hand as it rested on his chest. A little healing, a little jolt to awaken him.

               “Is he…?” Shadowheart began, walking towards them from the lever, preparing her own healing spells. The hand around Gwenifar’s own drew her attention back to him, seeing warm brown eyes gazing up at her.

               “You know, being held so close by you,” he managed out, “is to be next to the heavens.” Gwenifar released a breath she hadn’t realized she had been holding, smiling, and shaking her head. “I’d bet the gods themselves are jealous.”

I’ve been doing a slooow reread of AGOT over the past couple months and thinking about Sansa who honestly… is a little bit mean in the first book lol. Part of it is the trauma of what happens to Lady, part of it’s the ludicrously high expectations she’s also trying to meet, partly it’s how she’s been raised… but besides all that, yes, she is occasionally just a bit of a snob, sometimes uncaring, and often selfish. Nothing irredeemable, nothing she can’t grow from, and none of it negates her positive qualities. But yeah.

I think though that this is also because Sansa is just the most honest portrait amongst the kids of what a kid is actually like lol. Bran and Arya are the kids we all like to think we were, but honestly I remember what I was like at eleven at the answer is: frequently an absolute dickhead. I think of all the eleven year olds I knew, and they were also: absolute dickheads. I think of even the kids who we all thought of as ‘the nicest in our class’ or whatever: and they too were still given to moments of vindictiveness and childish cruelty.

Bran and Arya are really sweet kids but I think it’s a shame that Sansa so frequently gets painted as a nasty kid in comparison. What she’s compared to isn’t a realistic standard. And compared to most of the kids I’ve known, she’s practically whitewashed. Most times I actually kind of wish GRRM had brought some of the ‘less appealing’ childishness he gave to Sansa to her siblings as well, it’s good texture
