I think that while it's rather obvious that Jiro was always going to win the elections, it's very important that what ends up changing the tide to his favour is the fact that he convices people with something that in unambiguously his own orignial thought.

Until that moment, he had been nothing to a yes-man to his father. The candidature was not really for him, it was for his father, Jiro was merely a symbolic gesture because health prevented Juzo from actually running.

Season 5 spends a lot of time talking about emanipation, especially where Haida is concerned. He has a lot of trouble obtaining an effective and real self-reliance that allows him to completely escape the grasp of his father. It also paints an interesting parallel between the two brothers: Jiro never truly emancipated neither. While his job allows him financial independence, said job is said to be enterely reliant on his father's legacy. And he only got that job because he was what his father wanted at every moment.

Haida had many problems, but one thing that he manged to do was to carve out an identity that was his own. Something that Jiro never truly haduntil he finally dared to rise his voice against his father, and run a candidacy that was based on what he believed, not what his father told him to believe.

We need to know about remnant juzo

Lol well this is the first time I’ve ever drawn him, but I guess it’s time for him to get the remnant treatment!

His design didn’t change much (largely bc I had no ideas) but this guys would be filled with so much guilt, I mean he could have stopped the Tragedy and just didn’t

(I know why he didn’t but when it’s the fate of the world on the line, you kinda got to prioritize the needs of the many just sayin)

He’d definitely be one of the heavy hitters for the future foundation remnants, much like Seiko and Sonosuke

Chibi Mermay - Juzo

Since making Artworks for all the side characters would take me another 2-3 years I decided to take a shortcut and release their designs as Chibis instead. This way I can finish up the Mermaid series this year and start a new series afterwards!

I hope that’s still fine with everyone.

Juzo’s fins are based of a Trilobite. 

I’m thinking about making these Stickers or Acrylic Charms in the future. I’d love to get some feedback from you guys, if anyone would be interested in that.

this has definitely been said before but if we want to incorporate the existence of juzo, apart from an intern covering that filler episode, then juzo and zabuza have to be half brothers who share a dad they both never met and grew up adjacent to each other and probably interacted a total of five times in kirigakure and the sixth was fighting over kubikiribōchō when they both defected

Chapter 4: Juzo

Hello babes!!! Chapter 4 is here and it is for the lovely Juzo!! Collab with my lovely @fireflykaizoku! Juzo seems very serious but I do think he would have a soft spot for his own child! I hope you all enjoy!!

“Dad you burnt the eggs” Camille softly spoke as she  looked down at her plate wondering if it was edible.

Juzo sighed “sorry kiddo. I tried...” 

“I will eat them still because you tried your best.” The cheeky smile on her face. The misdone braid in her hair he tried to braid it like her mother did. His wife was usually on top of this kind of stuff. When finding out her wife’s mother became ill she went to care for her, Juzo told her to go he was able to watch Camille after all he is her parent too. Seeing all the stuff his wife did around the house his appreciation for her grew. Juzo, seeing his daughter's face, was a bit saddened she was eating the eggs slowly. She didn’t really express herself as she was a rather bashful child. 

After Camille finished her plate Juzo began to walk her to school. Camille talked about all the things she was learning in school until she arrived at the gate of the school.  “I’ll be right here to pick you up when you get out.” He said 

“Okay!” Camille gave her dad a hug. Seeing her disappear on the school grounds, Juzo walked home. The sky had a few clouds and he could hear some birds chirping at a nearby tree he passed. He remembered a conversation with his wife before she left ~Camille is very self-conscious about her size. She won’t say it out loud but you could tell by her attitude she can become quieter and she will tug on her clothes. Talking to her it usually helps her feel better when she gets into these moments.~

Hours passed as he waited for 2pm to arrive and he got there a bit early. Seeing a few groups of kids talking and laughing, but didn’t see Camille. When his eyes finally caught his daughter she was by herself. She was looking down at her feet as she walked towards the gate. “Camille.” Juzo calls out to her, snapping his daughter out of her own mind. She walked towards him, giving her a weary smile. “Everything okay?” 

“Oh yeah, just tired.” Camille responded. Juzo nodded as they both began to walk home. That evening she was quiet and she didn’t say a lot. 

Deciding to really focus on his cooking as he didn’t burn it this time. “Ready to eat kid?” He asked.

She nodded walking to the table he watched as she pulled on her sleeve as she took her seat. Juzo placed the plate in front of her. The dinner was quiet, she hardly touched her food moving the peas with her fork. “Camille, you're not hungry.” He asked her. 

“No....” She let a little sigh out.  “I'm just tired... may I be excused?” She asked.

“Oh uh sure.” Seeing his daughter quickly leaving the table. Something must have happened today. She wasn’t saying anything. Thinking she may have been teased because of her hair. Walking to her room he opened the door Camille was on the edge of the bed. “Hey kid, I just wanted to check on you.”

“I’m okay dad, you don’t have to worry.” She said 

“Did something happen at school?” He asked her. Camille stood quite still looking down. “Camille.”

“Just I look different from everyone in my grade...” She said he could hear the bit of cracking in her voice as she spoke.

“How so?” Juzo looked at the 7 year old who was still looking at her feet. 

“I'm way bigger than all the kids in my grade... Sometimes it's hard to play with kids without them being scared of me...” She said.

As a kid Juzo was the opposite people never bothered with him. He did what he wanted  and was always ready to fight.  Now with his offspring a completely different story. She has her mothers sweet nature wouldn’t harm a fly.  “Camille everywhere you go there will always be people who will judge you base off your appearance....you may look different than them but let them get to know the real you and they will realize you have more in common with them than they thought.”  He remembered joining the Whitebeard Pirates they welcomed him. Pops never judged him from the start he always  encouraged him and pushed him to become stronger. He thanked Pops for everything he done for him. “You are beautiful on the inside and out. Don’t forget that.” His hand patting her head. 

She let out a small smile wiping her eyes. “Thank you, dad.”  She was looking around her room and she saw the flashlight on her nightstand. She walked to the nightstand grabbing it. “My teacher said diamonds can shine bright underneath light. I was wondering if it is possible to  use your devil fruit so I can see if it does?” She asked a bit bashfully. Without a word, Juzo uses his devil fruit to cover part of his body in his diamond armor. Placing the light underneath his hands both of them could see the shining reflections bouncing off the wall seeing the different colors almost like a disco ball was in her room. “wow.” 

Juzo watched his daughter's eyes widen as she looked around excitedly, he was happy to see the beautiful smile returning on her face. The rest of the night they finished their dinner and Juzo placed her into bed. He was sitting down drinking his beer and seeing a vivre card with the date. “Soon we will see you.” He said to him before taking another drink of his beer. His wife wouldn’t be able to attend the gathering but Camille would get to see the uncles her own father grew up with and the man he called ‘pops’
