this man is so loyal and will put his heart and soul into the relationship. i think it would take a lot for him to trust someone in a romantic type of way because he wants to make sure that he is with the right person. he doesn't want to waste his time or potentially have his feelings hurt by someone who is not putting in the same amount of trust and effort into the relationship as he is

his main love language is quality time. which... is hard, because he is very busy. but he will make a special effort to try to hang out with you, maybe in his lunch break, he will see if he can meet up with you for a quick coffee. or if he is reallyyyy busy but just wants to see your beautiful face, he will give you the option to hang out in the studio

if you do decide to join him in the studio he will be super happy! will show you how he produces or will ask you for your input for new song ideas. if you like a certain genre he will try and incorporate that for you in his new song!

cafe dates - hongjoong's go-to date is probably finding a cute little cafe to go with you, so you guys can just sit, relax and talk together about anything and everything. he loves these dates because its quick, convenient, requires no planning and also just has the perfect atmosphere for a date!

cultural dates - i'm talking museums, art galleries, going into book shops or record shops or any unique place that catches your eye. he just loves experiencing these things with you

photography dates - if you both are into photography this will be a date he would love to take you on! just having both your cameras and going on walks, working on your photography skills together. he will probably take more pictures of you than the actual scenery because he says you're prettier <///3

restricting myself solely to bwbs3 for the moment because i am going to finish DIA tonight so that'll have to be a separate. thing. about narrative

i'm not interested in it for theory's sake, but because I think a lot of content around minecraft does not scratch the itch I want - sure you can teach me how to copy a build block by block, or even explain a process for massing a roof, but these still aren't enough. what I truly, truly want is many people having a conversation that would include things like...

how do i move around in the game? where do I spend my time? what are the implications of that?

how do i build the infrastructure necessary to support the continued playstyle i prefer without devolving into base chores and in fact encouraging the development of goals and completion of them in a game with no prescribed finish?

how do I interpret meaning from the world I build around me? how do distance, color, texture, scale, size, lighting, shape, time spent navigating, terrain, machines, mechanics, movement, etc. and their interrelationships impact the meaning I derive?

these are mere starting points; concretely, a conversation could look like moving from "what's the best most efficient farm objectively i can build?" to "how do I choose or construct a farm that matches its output and ease of access to my current needs and goals?" farm throttling is a huge concern in my imaginary discourse, since it's highly variable even across a single player's single world. (this may shock you to learn this is something I appreciate greatly about etho.)

bdubs is making really, really big arguments about what visual representation can signify not in isolation but in concert across many dimensions: he loves his fog and render distance settings because of what they do to an environment, and his builds interact with those distance limits; he is constantly pushing himself further beyond simple gradients into texturing into doing ambient occlusion on flat walls to suggest crossbeams and now expanding scale to increase possibilities for meaningful coherent block palettes. it's got his usual wrapping of bluster and pride but he's a lot more mellow and didactic in bwbs3! like, he is arguing for this approach in terms you would expect with historical art movements, about how to communicate meaningfully through art. he is doing pointillism!

today he talked about building in all those terms and more, and then also in the fourth dimension of time; this is the first thing I built and it is a time capsule of my skill and style at that point in time, and I am going to build this today as a capstone to my current skills and style, a proof of concept and a temple and a focal point and a new scale marker (since the mountain he built is now tiny in comparison lmao). he is playing minecraft in 4D! this is a really neat and meaty line of thinking - if you're playing a world, what could you build to be a snapshot of where you are now?

that turns the world, built-up, into a historical register. it's not that groundbreaking to do in retrospect, but combined with the foresight and level of intent and skill and on top of that articulating that to the audience makes building with bdubs season 3 really special to me. it's a cross between a seminar and a let's play; it's not building with like s1/s2 senses of just recording himself while building and talking in detail, it's building with in the sense of instruction and encouraging you to go try it out. it's his pitch for his theory of building! from what I can tell, it's pretty unique for that.

honestly the derrida and perec and everything is relevant and ripe but my first turn to theory with bdubs was bernard tschumi's advertisements for architecture, because some of them work so well with his life series builds (another post, another time). however, check this shit out!

advertisements for architecture frequently also engages with murder and the erotic as components of architecture - "Murder in the Street differs from Murder in the Cathedral in the same way as love in the street differs from the Street of Love. Radically." the erotic is less relevant, but the call to baser human desires is a fun touchpoint when considering the meaninglessness of death and especially in the context of MCYT the use of architecture even more explicitly than irl as prompts for interesting, novel, unpredictable interactions. at the same time, many built things in MC are mere facades (grian hcs7 megabase...... not to be rude but jesus).

and so the novelty and love for a guy who cares about and executes well a manifesto on unifying aesthetics and function in a dynamic four-dimensional framework. with that basis, you could start engaging piaget on play, baudrillard on simulation and simulacra, derrida on bricolage, perec on space, any number of theater-centered theorists from any number of lenses (marxist critique of the gradient trend when?) and so on endlessly. but I'm always overjoyed and intrigued by bdubs' arguments. he's so breezy about it, too, like he's driven toward something he's figuring out for himself and trying to share as he learns. nothin else like it

i really didn’t want to have to do this but i’ve had some recent health uh-ohs that i had to pay for out of pocket and that kinda sucked. i can’t work any more hours and i can’t pick up a second or new job because i need to be home to care for the family—

i’m opening commissions. BUT nothing big or fancy. my skills are kind of limited, and i reserve the right to decline any offers that don’t tickle my fancy, so keep that in mind. see below for things i am willing to create, and things i am not. i’m not really in a dire situation, so this is more of a, “if you happen to see this post and wanna help out, i’ll welcome it with open arms” kinda thing. not at all obligated to help by any means.

Im a lil baby writer - my art skills r more developed, but when it comes 2 making characters, theyre usually for stories I wanna write. Someday. Writing's hard. & I think it��s cool that one of the tips you gave was to interview your characters - my current fav OC group are all in a band, and when I first came up with them I pretended to interview them for a music magazine X)

(2/3) Plot’s a struggle for me too - tbh, the reason I started developing my OCs/worlds more was bc I tried to write a story plot-first, & ran into a brick wall bc I didn’t know the characters or setting that well. With that in mind, how do u know when ur done? When is a character or setting complete enough to write about? Theoretically you could just keep going forever, but do u have any markers you use 2 figure out when an aspect of character creation or worldbuilding is “finished”?

I've always been character first, handwave plot for a few years until it puzzle pieces together into...something. Nothing water tight, but something I can at least give a semi in-depth synopsis of *most* of the things that go on in the story lol

I think its SO COOL that you gave your band-members a little interview for a music magazine -- that's exactly what I'm talkin about! And so fun, too!! And it sounds like it'd be something that would end up in the world itself, which is perfect.

"When is a character complete enough to write about?" I definitely recommend keeping an eye out on advice from your fellow writers, but... I personally think you can go on as much as you'd like to! As long as it hasn't become an excuse to delay in actually sitting down and writing for them in your story. (like ME lmao) Because sometimes smaller details just end up filling themselves in as you go along. I think you're fairly set if you have a good grasp on their personality, how they would react in a varying level of situations, what their goals, wants and fears are (and what have they experienced to have those develop) You may even want to write a character-focused little one-shot separate from the story that would help feel things out, while also establishing a mundane or significant moment in their lives, independently from everything else. This goes for multiple characters who are like a package deal. Like a pairing or a close-knit team that influence each others lives. Maybe even to convince you that the character is who you say they are. Like, it's one thing to say a character's charming, it's another to write about a moment where they're interacting with others in a way you actually find endearing and likable to back that up in your own head. Even while I was writing a rough script for a scene in a potential web-comic idea for Damian and Rio (the merman and vampire) a lot of small things started falling into place about the characters and world-building just started to SPRING FORTH, and I only had a general idea on how the scene would have gone, with key moments. From writing dialogue and character actions on the fly, I discovered: more about both characters body language, vampire lore and more how vampires function, a solid example of what an emotionally heavy conversation looks between the two of them, and more examples that convinced me of the chemistry between the two of them, in ways that I wanted.

Sometimes you get caught up in a creative current and suddenly you've blasted through like 3 pages of ideas. This goes for world-building too because characters are so frequently affected by the world around them in various ways. World-building is often something I overthink and I end up a fretting over about a lot of things that probably would be cumbersome to list in grand detail about anyway, but sometimes its fun to just think about, y'know? and if you're having fun then that's all that really matters. I'd say a general knowledge of what a general day of living in this world would look like, and maybe how it would affect the people living there long-term. What really sets the stage and how does it change over time, if at all. What makes waves and changes what was normal in either the world at large or for your characters.

The thing that personally always stumps me is structures of power and politics, and those are often times the real gear grinders of stories.

BAH I'M RAMBLING, MYSELF. I honestly wish you the best of luck with your characters and worldbuilding and I truly can't wait for you to fall in love with them. So, not to brag, but

I may have already unlocked the rainbow glasses for Belial and the special skin for Djeeta as well (she gets a really pretty sword, I'll take a picture later), because those are my mains and Rising let me import my old save data, thankfully

Compared to Versus, it seems they streamlined a lot of stuff which can be both good and bad

In Versus you got Renown Pendants for every round of Versus you played. A pittance, but you got some. It stacks up a bit during Arcade Mode, where you fight seven straight battles. You can use those to unlock art and music in the gallery, but it takes a while to be able to afford that stuff.

Then the Campaign had dailies where you got skill jewels + draw tickets for reaching certain goals and levels

The campaign also featured a Tower of Babyl where you got some resources that you could trade with Siero for special weapon skins, but some of those were also enemy drops sometimes

Granted, I don't know much about the campaign in Rising yet, so maybe I should shut up. I think it's different, I didn't see the Tower anywhere, thank God, but I also only had time to play a short time. You mainly used your rupies in Versus to level up weapons, so I hope that's not how to do it anymore, because you need rupies for everything else. I had such an organized, basically maxed out grid because I had enough money to upgrade everything that needed money to upgrade, but now you need money for other things

There's still draw tickets, but you can buy them with rupies in the store. Because yeah, Rising in dealing in rupies first and foremost. You get rupies for dailies now, there's three daily quests that you can do in any mode, such as "do two SSBAs" and they reset at 5 am JST, so at the same time as the Mobage. There's a countdown to the change which is not at all anxiety inducing lmao

Anyway, you can just straight up buy weapon skins now, thank God! I also bought two stages with money, you can get a costume for Siegfried that way, so let's hope more costumes become unlockable through in-game grind rather than paid

I have not yet bought the SSR glasses and I'm sorry, I straight up didn't see them until after I'd spent some money and they're kind of expensive, but I promise to get him the Gucci glasses he deserves

In any case, the process feels a lot more streamlined now. I managed to buy a skin and weapon I've been trying to grind to get in Versus and now I just have it, so that's great, I'm thrilled

It's a bit obnoxious that everything is the same currency so you gotta budget, but on the other hand, it's more practical this way, too. Everything is in the same spot and pretty straightforward. I just hope there's other ways to make rupies instead of just doing dailies, but I'll figure it out

Also, I think you gotta unlock/ buy/ win photo mode stuff, which is why it took a while for Sandalphon pictures to emerge

So yeah, it's definitely cool. I'm looking forward to playing more

Especially because it's just a tremendous feeling of relief to try and get a weapon and skin for months and then you can just buy it in ten seconds

She probably reforms from the crystalisis in dukes shop, bc he kept all the bodies for a reason, if a duke wants to do a thread w rhay then -fingerguns\ hit me up

Can no longer attack Ethan. At all. Circa 7 when ethan was first infected and couldnt fight elder eveline, but could fight everyone else. hes the host now, she cant do anything to him. I’m guessing it was the same for miranda, so while she was disdainful towards her, and wouldnt have fought her anyways bc momma would be disappointed, she definitely physically cant now. The Mold says no.

As with my personal canon from transferring my Faerie Halfling char into cassie, she still has fae blood which likely was a delicious treat for the good old mold. do w that what you will. but even mutated beyond belief shes still a halfling, but anything regarding that is primarily reserved for persy and owlys threads unless others want to experiment there, and she was just a witchy human in canon compliant verses.

Once she wakes up, she loses the ability to turn into a swarm. all her buggos died off. She’d need to collect an entirely new swarm before she can do it again, but the contrast point there is she can be in the cold again. But, yknow, no buggy power lol.

she’s still violent, but given her entire family is basically dead… she gets a tiny pass for now.

probably the only person shes 100% trusting is the duke (lol 100% more like 50%), and maybe hatter @ owly, but not a lot else. If threads w post village others occur (unkie, auntie, fishy, etc), its a case by case basis. she did actually like her relatives.. mostly. but her momma being gone rly puts a damper on her trusting capabilities.

her hunting skills outside of the bugging are still present please dont think shes easy to hurt now, shes angry and volatile and will stab first think later.

she didnt wake up in her hunting dress. I actually picture it more like how zoe woke up in EoZ dlc, like the crystalisis became her current outfit, and she probably hasnt gotten and doesnt care to get anything else rn. her most important bits are somehow magically covered though so whatever.

she did not have any feelings regarding rose in the first place. she did not care that ethan was looking for his daughter. she doesn’t understand that point of view. while overly empathetic pre transformation, her empathy levels dropped significantly before she even turned, and afterwards she turned almost entirely into a sadist. While her desperate desire for family returns at the loss of her sisters and mom, she had no qualms about any of that before. Her only issues with ethan were that she was told he was her prey, and she wanted to succeed in her kill. Proving herself to Alcina is always her first goal, and ethan killing Bela and making alcina pissed off and cina telling cass to take care of him set her off even further on the hunt. She does not like ethan now because he killed her family, but she can no longer touch him. Probably, considering Rose’s own reality with the mold, she’d at worst consider Rose an irritating pest.. but one her mother tolerated. At best, maybe consider her a form of family because of the mold, but.. dislike her the way the rest of the family hates each other lmao.

her head wound is still there, the tattoo (which in my canon already wasn’t fully formed, because I like how in the concept art the filter makes it look less and less visible on each daughter going down, and i like the idea of bela being the only one with the full tattoo) has faded even more. At this point, it’s mostly just a portion of a rose and the bladed stem, but nothing else.

The dark splotches under her eyes that look like crying mascara stains are still there, not super dark, but there.

her hands still look corrupted and messed up, like if the gloves are off it still looks like gloves ghosting up her arms, thats still there. But the more claw like shape has faded to more proper hand like looks.

eyes the same, one gold one silver, no vision in her right eye. her balance is off because of dyspraxia. shes evil but shes trying be nice

Mitski Birth Chart Reading

This is just my interpretation based on Mitski’s birth chart and what I know of her music. Let me know if you have any suggestions of someone I should make a post on next! If you’re interested, I offer natal chart readings, just check my pinned post!

Libra sun: In terms of basic personality and ego, Mitski is focused on creating balanced, harmonic relationships. Intimate, one-on-one relationships are a major part of her identity. 🍎 KG2 Fanzine Interest Check!

hey everyone, i plan on starting a kindergarten 2 fanzine! :D basically it would be a fanmade book of illustrations and writing, that is centered around the content of kindergarten 2.

we’ve had a lot of fun, interactive stuff within our fandom, as small as it is-- like the kindergala, and dtiys challenges. i thought it would be a great time to band together to create a fanzine, and i’m thinking if we start now we could manage to get it done in time for the 2nd anniversary of kindergarten 2! ( july 29, 2021 ) or later, but the goal is around that timeframe for now

this would be purely for fun, and i would really appreciate it if people could spread the word about this! this post is to see how many people would either be interested in seeing this fanzine created, or how many people want to participate in making it. ( so, y’know, i don’t just set up everything only to have 1 person join or something. )

with that said, please reblog to help spread the word, and say in the tags/reblogs/replies or even private message me if you want-- to let me know if you’re one of the people interested in participating, or if you really really want to see this happen! another post will be created linking the application form, if there is enough interest for this project so please stay tuned!

a few things about the plans for this zine:

it is entirely non-profit, volunteer run, and will be distributed digitally for free as a multi-page pdf. this isn’t a professional thing by any means, and there unfortunately will not be merch available ( i would totally ship out kg-themed buttons if i could, but my school’s button club where i make the buttons is unavailable due to the pandemic, and shipping does, unfortunately, cost money that this zine will not provide)

i will need artists and writers to help create content for the zine, maybe even a few other people to help with the mod team

as of right now, the number of pages will heavily depend on how many artists/writers/creators want to participate and how much content they’re willing to make within the 5-ish month period. i know this is a pretty small fandom, so we won’t be able to make as much content as a large fandom would

the qualifications to apply are not strict at all in terms of skill. i greatly encourage anyone to participate no matter your level as an artist or writer! this is supposed to be a fun fandom-involved project, after all :D

however, i do ask that you maintain a level of semi-professionalism with your attitude towards this project. even with a small fandom, this is still a huge project to take on and i sincerely ask that you only participate if you believe you’re capable of handling what’s expected of you

the zine will mostly be canon-based

again, depending on the amount of applications, content might just include the missions ( around 11-ish applicants minimum ) , or the characters ( around 27 applicants minimum )

ships, au’s, and oc’s are allowed! i just ask that these type of things don’t outnumber the main canon content, so there might be a limited amount of slots for these

please don’t be nervous about applying if you’re interested! this isn’t meant to be Super High Quality Professional work, and this my first time doing anything involving a fanzine too lmao, we can learn together :’D

you don’t have to draw/write a new thing for the zine; you can submit old work by all means! as long as it fits the planned parameters for the page sizing. drawing new work is preferred, however, because of the sizing

digital artists: 1 page size 8.5 x 11 inches 300dpi | half page size 8.5 x 5.5 inches 300dpi | 2 page spread 17 x 11 inches 300 dpi -- rgb format, full colour art

traditional artists: don’t worry too much about the size of your picture. just try to take it as clear as possible, or scan in high quality. be aware your photo may be touched up digitally by the graphics editor if needed

writers: 2500 words are the max for your fic

I’ve decided to turn subtitles back on for watching TV shows for the time being. It’s been good to test my listening by turning them off (and sometimes they can be more distracting than helpful!) but I feel like I need to work on my vocabulary more, so it helps to have subtitles on so can note down new words to look up afterwards. It’s great that I no longer need them to understand the main points of any given TV show, but I want to do more than just get the gist of things; the goal is to understand more or less everything!

My italki session this week went better. I still felt like everything was badly-worded but I actually managed to speak this time. I’m still not sure whether to keep using both tutors and alternate each week (a lil expensive, but they challenge me in different ways and two weeks feels like quite a while to go between sessions) or just drop down to one. Or maybe try some others out. Thing is I had a little look at other tutors but they’re either really expensive (like fuck am I gonna pay £20-£40 for a lesson), don’t have time slots that suit me or just don’t give off the right vibe (seriously the number of intro videos I’ve clicked on and gone “nope” within the first 10 seconds is ridiculous, guess I’m picky about tutors lmao). I’m kinda happy with the ones I have anyway, so I guess there’s no real need to try out any others rn.

Also, I’ve written an absurd amount of Norwegian fiction this past week. I doubt I’ll be able to keep it up, but it was quite nice to get into the flow of writing and smash my “write 5000 words of fiction” goal I made at the start of the year. I’m tempted to see if I can make it to 10K now. Of course, it’s all garbage: I’m sure the grammar’s wrong and the dialogue sounds unnatural (not to mention I have to look up at least one thing every time I sit down to write), but I think it might be a good way for me to do first drafts, because I don’t care so much about making it “good” and more about just getting my ideas down.

Oh, and I finally finished my book! I might try writing a review later this week :)

Favourite moment: Getting really into my writing and managing to write nearly 1000 words of fiction in one day

I’ve chilled out a bit with Japanese this week. I’m enjoying learning kanji, but I feel like it’s time I started learning some grammar and actually stringing some sentences together. I’m tempted to ask for a textbook for Christmas. But I’m also kinda missing Spanish atm so idk whether to go back to learning that? And I still miss Finnish. Idk, we’ll see. Anyway, I plan to work a bit more with Duolingo this week so I can try to learn some vocabulary in context and some actual whole sentences.

Favourite moment: Realising I could still write all the hirigana and katakana from memory after not drilling them all week

Diakko!Odyssey AU

Most recent update: 8/28/2020 I added the comic of them meeting and also wrote a little snippet under the Diakko section

Welcome all. This post will officially be my master post of the Odyssey AU which will be updated as time moves forward so that I can link all of my related art to it. Yes I will not be posting multiple separate Updates in text posts how it’s traditionally done, but instead there will be information with each art and then a link back to this post. This is to avoid clutter since I hardly post on this blog anyway so it wouldn’t be fun having to scroll through all of my “OH ALSO THIS HAPPENS!” to get to art. Also I keep changing my mind on a lot of things in the AU so disregard information under the arts anyway as I will be posting here what is actually relevant.

Another key thing: I will be avoiding spoilers as much as possible until they are either shown in art or stated explicitly like I do in posts because I am the absolute worst at surprises. But anyway fear not for spoilers. Things said here are things that should be hinted at/known already. (and also I hardly know anything but maybe I will in due time)

Without further ado..

Introduction

What is the Odyssey AU?

The odyssey au is an alternative universe combining both Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Little Witch Academia into this (very random) adventuring story that takes place in ancient Greece. I guess I can’t say that it’s random since one of my favorite things about both ACO and LWA is the ties/references to mythology with the former obviously more rooted in the mythology and the latter just fun easter egg references.

The general premise is that Diana is a misthios(mercenary) who travels with Akko, a shapeshifter, across Greece to find the answers pertaining to her origin.

The first art post: Diana and Akkoros

While living her life as a misthios, Diana searches for the answers pertaining to her origin and superhuman (described as “magical”) abilities along with Shapeshifter Atsuko, who commonly uses her powers for flight, but is not shy to switch to animals more suited for combat.

But I don’t know what Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is?

That’s fair and understandable. Honestly my AU diverges a lot from the game so I don’t think knowledge of ACO is exactly necessary it’s just fun to understand the connections if you know them. Basically the key things you need to know from ACO as of now is:

Kassandra (the protag) is known as the Eagle Bearer because she has an eagle that is known as the “eagle of Zeus” throughout the game. And they adventure together and Ikaros (the eagle) can hunt n kill things and See things and tbh he’s rly just a cool eagle but not a shapeshifter or anything lol

Kassandra is a Mercenary (misthios) which is basically a for Hire fighter/person who will p much do anything for money (if they want to do it)

Kassandra is usually referred to a demi-god because of her powerful fighting abilities in which I mean yea she literally has powers and can blast people like a billion miles away (im jk but-)

Kassandra can tame animals (which ones depending on your skill level). You can tame uhh wolves, lynx, leopards, lions, bears. This is where my ‘shapeshifter’ idea began and it pretty much fit perfectly since Akko’s favorite spell is the shapeshifting one.

Other than this, the most important things to know for this AU is just,, general mythology,, I guess? Or history? General history of mythology and how people worshipped/acted in accordance to the gods. And I’m not saying im going to be historically accurate obviously, nor even mythologically accurate (if that’s even a thing lol), I’m just here to have a good time and enjoy my gay mercenaries while talking about gods/goddesses as if I even know (thankfully I have my gf who is way more interested in mythology than me to help me)

I’ve only played like half of the Atlantis DLC after beating the game so whoopsie. I honestly really wanna replay everything now that I have this AU just so I can focus more on details and what I can yoink.

Diana is the main protagonist of the story, but they pretty much both share the spotlight anyway. Her goal is to find out why she has certain powers (which I have officially decided, finally...) that aren’t exactly human. Since being a misthios was an easy way for her to travel and make drachmae, she chooses to do it while on their journey. Dammit I came up with her lore but as per the rules of this masterpost I can’t write about it until it’s out smh.. Ah I forgot that I already spilled that she is a goddess/demi-goddess (haven’t decided which yet) so yea that’s the Tea.

Described as very beautiful, there are rumors of her that state she is a pathway to Elysium (despite many people not deserving to go to Elysium). She is also known for her stoic face and a red bird that follows her around.

Diana is only found smiling with Akko and keeps buying Akko clothes despite her outer grievances each time Akko destroys something.

Diana was there with her mother at Chariot’s speech/performance.

Diana is skilled with any weapon.

Akko

Akko is a shapeshifter who travels with Diana across Greece in search for her idolized Chariot. Trusting both Diana’s skills and powers, Akko decides that Diana is the best choice to help achieve her goal as they adventure together.

Orphaned at a young age, Akko is, at first, very unfamiliar with how exactly to use her powers because there was no one around to teach her. She uses a bird most often because it is her first and most skilled transformation, but eventually learns to use stronger animals over time. Also eagle-vision is much more useful to Diana when they’re scoping the grounds anyway.

Like all shapeshifters, Akko has a symbol on her neck that signifies what she is. Due to the high prejudice against shapeshifters, Akko stays an animal to avoid being known, and also does not transform in front of others unless to kill them. If she has to be a human, Akko commonly wears a hood to hide her neck.

Akko is one of the last shapeshifters to exist, and, despite Chariot being rumored to have finally been murdered, she still believes Chariot is alive.

Akko was with her parents when they all attended Chariot’s final speech/show and here began her dream.

Akko can use a dagger if she needs to.

Side-characters

Akko’s Parents: Shapeshifters who were murdered when Akko was a young age.

Chariot: A shapeshifter who somehow had a voice and power that even normal people listened to. Akko idolizes Chariot because, despite the hate against shapeshifters, Chariot was well known and was an activist for shapeshifters despite the danger upon her head. Chariot mysteriously disappears one day for reasons unknown, and everyone but Akko assumes she was finally murdered.

Shapeshifters

Shapeshifters are defined as humans who possess the ability to transform to any animal at will. Unfortunately, because animals were seen as less than human, shapeshifters were defined as “punished by the gods” and so many decided shapeshifters needed to be removed from the world for sin. This causes a massacre of shapeshifters to the point that they are instead a rarity.

Shapeshifters do not transform with their clothes, and so either destroy them or lose them depending on their transformation.

All shapeshifters have a symbol on their neck which is what is used to find them. They can also be found by their human personalities/characteristics when they are an animal.

If weakened, shapeshifters return to their human form and cannot transform until they are stronger.

Diana and Akko adventure together and do all of their quests together as a rag-tag chaotic duo. God I’m so excited for this section I wish I could make art FASTER but anyway:

They meet at about 17 years old but the main story takes place when they are 18+

The two get off to a wrong start when Diana saves Akko’s life. Because Akko is a shapeshifter, she’s high in value to kill probably by some cult idk but there is always a bounty on her head. When Diana saves her, Akko assumes Diana only did so to steal the drachmae from the original perpetrators, but Diana really just leaves her alone afterwards. Confused, Akko legit just starts tagging along LMAO she finds Diana interesting and so follows her and Diana’s just like what the fuck but eventually she gets over it. They become powerful assets to each other as Diana can now scope the skies with Akko and Akko is pretty much protected under Diana. Then when Akko gets much stronger Diana gets extra manpower and protection too.

Akko enjoys staying in her human form to spend time with Diana.

Diana keeps buying Akko clothes just because it makes Akko happy (and also, despite Akko uncaring because her transformations are so frequent anyway, Diana doesn’t want her to be naked??)

Diana is easily persuaded by Akko and puts Akko’s interests first (feeds her first, considers what Akko would want, etc.)

2020 Creator Wrap: Favorite Works

Rules: it’s time to love yourselves! 2020 was really great for me creatively because until this year I hadn’t made gifs since 2016 and I missed it like crazy. I missed the creative outlet and I missed giving something back to the community that has always meant so much to me.

(imma say what each work means to me to hype myself up lmao)

1) Chef Lindsay gifs from Extra Life 2020 - These gifs are the first (RTAH) ones I’ve posted this year to break 1k notes let alone do so in like 3 days which was insane to me. It makes the entire process of wrecking my pc by watching the stream, recording it, and making gifs all at the same time worth it lmao.

2) Gavin and his kitty - I love these ones primarily for the tags left on the set. It got so many compliments on my coloring and that just made me really really proud. I just started coloring on my own without PSDs this year and that was definitely a new skill for me to learn and I think I’ve been doin pretty okay with it!

3) Non RTAH related Mando gifs - I’ve really never dabbled in making content for fandoms outside of youtube so it’s been really cool to start branching out and expanding my horizons and comfort levels with different types of media

4) Queen’s Gambit gifs - Like the Mando ones, these don’t have a lot of notes but they make me immensely proud. I’d been struggling so hard with getting my gifs to the quality I really wanted and I finally figured out some new tricks and techniques to help get me one step closer. Making these gifs was the first time in a long time that I really felt that I nailed it and was 100% satisfied with what I made

5) The DLR trailer gifset - I worked my butt off on this gifset, trying new techniques and methods to achieve the goal I was working towards and I think it paid off. I normally whip out gifs really really fast so these feel special to me bc they’re something I actually worked hard on and spent hours trying to perfect

We sat down with @kizurai to talk about Rain World, their process, and their Supernova adventure!

What inspired your story?

Listen. I was stuck in traffic on my way home from work one day, and it was pouring rain – as it does in Seattle, or anywhere near the northwest – and I thought to myself, “What if- but rain?”

No, but seriously though, I really was stuck in traffic and I wondered what would happen if rain could eat through materials. I would’ve been just stuck there, with nowhere to go and just melted there. Which is, okay, it’s morbid but I mean I wrote a post-apoc, what did you expect?

That and also I took inspiration from this indie game called <i>Rain World</i> (where I got the title if you couldn’t tell) and it… honestly there’s almost zero resemblance but I loved the concept of lizard monsters and the pressure of the rain killing you and having to run shelter to shelter. Like I said, kinda resembles my fic but not really?

Anyway, my fic is not frightening I swear!

How do you form your stories? Do you outline beforehand or write by the seat of your pants? Do you write linearly or out of order?

Outline? hAHA I tried, I honestly did try considering that was one of the requirements for the first draft: to at least have an outline written out (although it's a little more than that, be sure to read the rules lol). So I did write one, but then I threw that right out the window when I started writing because these ridiculous characters just don’t like to stick to script.

What I did do was write a bunch of random blurbs and facts about the world (which I never ended up using) and drew out some concept art and some floor plans, because I'm nothing if not a thorough game developer LOL

I also cannot for the life of me write out of order. If I do I just end up throwing it out even though I like it; I end up not being able to fit it anywhere.

So yes, I write linearly (not by choice) and write at the seat of my non-pants (because I hate wearing pants) and I just sit there, staring at a blank google doc until inspiration hits, or lightning strikes, whichever one comes first, and I just write and force myself to write and I keep writing until the stupid thing is done.

What in your fic are you most proud of?

Um, that it’s done? I’m still surprised I completed something, surprised I even managed 74k of words, like was I possessed?

Serious answer though, I wrote like up to chapter 9 and realized I didn’t add in any relationship stuff and Emma and Regina’s relationship went from 0 to 100 in a chapter. So I had to go back and sprinkle their relationship here and there. I guess that’s probably what I am most proud of, lmao, that I managed to make swanqueen for a swanqueen fic lol

Oh, and also making everyone hate me because of my fic. That is a joy.

Is there anything you'd change now?

Serious talk, which means this part is uninteresting but:

The thing is, we’re always changing, we’re always moving forward in one way or another, our minds are in constant movement. Therefore, whenever I look back on my old stuff I always get caught up in “god, that’s awful, why did I write that?” or “maybe I could’ve done better” and I’m sure I could if I spend the time to do so but why?

It’s done, if I’m really upset about something I should change then I’ll write a new story and do better because we grow with experience and each story writers churn out is like gaining experience points, eventually we’ll level up and maybe gain an extra skill.

The point I’m trying to get at is that, sure, there are plenty things I would love to change – burn the whole thing in a fire if I could (believe me I wanted to a couple of times) – but instead of looking back I’m going to look forward and make something better than the last.

How do you deal with writers' block?

So I follow Emily Andras on twitter and she mentioned something that I took to heart; she said something along the lines of ”writer's block is for amateurs” and I got confused and a little angry at first but let me say, I think I get it. Even though I do get writers block and I’m screaming at my screen hoping for something to happen, I wonder what professional writers do when they’re on a deadline?

I think they power through.

And even if you think what you’re writing is terrible and it might never make it into the final copy, it’s still something, it’s still words on a page and sometimes just writing something might spark something. That’s basically what I did, I kept powering through even though I hated every second of it, but I managed to get it done on time (early actually because I remembered the deadline day wrong, but let’s not talk about that) and it’s done. Period.

Also, deadlines. Those help a lot.

Was this Supernova experience different than your typical writing experience?

As mentioned above I really think the deadlines helped me. I’ve always been kinda the ‘goal-orientated but lazy otherwise’ type so on my own I’m pretty much whatever and I have a billion WIPs but forcing myself to write and do daily sprints really helped. There’s also a bunch of other writers facing the same thing as me so we can all suffer together.

Any advice to other writers who might want to write a longfic, or participate in Supernova next year?

You know what, don’t listen to all the other authors telling you outlines are the key LOL sure, go ahead and write one if that helps you, but really you gotta find the process that works for you. It’s a little bit like education, everyone learns differently, everyone has a different way of doing things.

Oh but, yeah, listen to me on that ‘forcing yourself to write’ thing, you might hate yourself, or you might hate me while doing it – most likely me but whatever – but just get words on a page.

Also, don’t be so anxious about sharing your work. Your fic is not representative of your self-worth. Don’t write because you want validation or have everyone praise you. Write because you enjoy it and get happy if even one person reads your fic and loves it because these things tend to turn out like a popularity contest and a lot of new writers get lost in the crowd (I mean, like 6-8 things will pop out daily so unless you have a following already, people may or may not leave you until a lot later) so

1) Don’t be upset if you don’t receive any comments until a month (or 5) later 2) Be happy you finished something! Look at what you’ve accomplished rather than focus on the extraordinarily high expectations you’ve put on yourself 3) Have fun

akdasldkfj sorry this is so late. i was more busy today that i thought i’d be.

BUT HELLO!!

my name is rose. I’m from the pst area and it has been literal years since i’ve roleplayed. so please forgive me if i’m pretty rusty and don’t seem to know what i’m doing. like changing my format a thousand times, but i honestly did that a lot before i disappeared from the world of RP.

ANYWHO

here i shall introduce my not so very smol but smol, semi-socially awkward bean, Apollo/Yeonghwa!

°✧｡ [ KIM TAEHYUNG, CISMALE, HE/HIM ] IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE APOLLO JOINED VELIA FROM BROOKLYN, NY, USA. APPARENTLY THEIR NAME IS YEONG-HWA "OLIVER" CHAE AND THEY’RE A MYSTIC. THEY HAVE BEEN FIGHTING AS SOLO PLAYER FOR A WHILE NOW. DIDN’T PEOPLE SAY THEY WERE NOT A BETA TESTER? I HEARD THEY TURNED TWENTY ONE THIS YEAR. LET’S HOPE THEY MAKE IT OUT ALIVE.

a little shortcut bio while i fix up his bio page:

little yeonghwa was born in Brooklyn, NY.

there is no deep meaning to his english name oliver. i just like that name.

for the longest time he deemed life to be a bit boring. he wasn’t that great at making friends. always shy and never knowing what to say. leading him to usually being the loner on the side, being a wallflower.

his parents thought maybe an extracurricular activity would help him develop some social skills. and after much convincing, promising the boy got to choose what classes he'd take and they’d go out for ice cream once a week for two months, little eight year old yeonghwa chose to take some music classes.

yeonghwa thought his after-school program would be like private lessons, hoping he wouldn’t have to be judged in front of others. but of course he was wrong. he did fairly well with the piano, but when his teachers heard him sing along to an old jazz song, the switched his main class from instrumental to vocal.

he at first hated it. the class had more students. he didn’t like people. being around them anyways. but over time he found himself content with the presence of others, and his confidence in himself improved. thus breaking out of his shell and becoming more outgoing. he made it his goal to be a singer for his future career, even started a youtube channel.

as high school rolled around, his parents encouraged him to audition for a performing arts high school. he was unsure about it, since it was quite a distance from his house, but once learning his friends from the after school program he went to were going, he immediately agreed.

however, he was the only one from the program to have been accepted. so he was once again alone. he promised to hang out with them still but they kept declining his invites.

being alone didn’t affect him much this time around as he decided he just needed to put himself out there and he’ll have a new, and hopefully better and more loyal group of friends. and he was right. he joined clubs and found new hobbies, such as dance and photography. and in those clubs he found four of his best friends, his ride or dies. one of them being a girl named hana im. the five remained friends even through college.

during his junior year of high school, his youtube channel began to get more recognition as he posted more dance and song covers, as well as originals. he also uploaded some vlogs that mainly consisted of some weird adventures he and his friends went on.

during his time in college, he double majored in medicine and music. medicine was the back up plan in case his music career doesn’t pan out the way he hopes it would. but his youtube channel became quite popular due to collaborations he had done with others and even officially released a few songs. he was slowly rising to fame and closer to reaching his career goal.

in velia

joined because his best friend hana, aka elektra, convinced their group to join. she promised it would be fun and a great stress reliever. he trusted her and her judgement, agreeing without a second thought.

he logged on, choosing to be a mystic with “apollo” as his username seeing as he admired the god of not only the sun, but of music and medicine as well. (they will all be addressed by their usernames from here on out)

and like always, elektra was right. they had lots of fun.

they had a blast. keyword: had

the reality of not being able to log out eventually took a toll on them. they made a mini guild and did their best to keep each other alive. apollo thought it wouldn’t be so difficult, especially with elektra by their side and each of them getting the hang of things quickly.

but then elektra left, leaving him and the other three to try and fend for themselves. they started to panic, but apollo managed to keep them all calm, saying she’d be back. that they were all too close for her to just up and leave for good.

everyday he kept checking their friends list to make sure he saw the name “elektra” still there. it calmed him a bit, to know she was still alive.

the remaining four worked until they had enough money to buy a house, then just took quests here and there if they needed any supplies or food.

they had a good time, trying to live their lives to the fullest they could while being stuck in the virtual world.

but the good times didn’t even last more than a couple months.

apollo had lost everyone. all but elektra, as he still saw her name still on his friends list. but she never returned like he thought she would.

his last friend had died in his arms. they were out on a walk when they were ambushed by monsters. by the time they killed them all, he didn’t realize how much damage his friend had taken until it was too late, not giving him enough time to heal and save them. instead, he sang them a song for their final moments.

he sold their house and bought a smaller one in a more isolated area.

he was alone again. he went solo. not having the heart or will to join another guild. also now trust issues. the friends he made in the game were now like acquaintances. and most of his time was now dedicated to leveling up and fighting in the front lines.

when he’s not fighting, he spends his time in two way. the first being traveling from floor to floor helping those in need. he has considered joining unity a couple times, but the memory of his friends constantly held him back. --second, just spending time in the warmer areas, sun bathing while singing to himself or reading a book.

he’s still a friendly person. just back to square one with his socially awkward state. he’s afraid to get close to people. but give him time and he’ll eventually come around.

i feel like this is a mess. but i’m a mess. so it’s okay. i think.

most of the things I say are memes :// in terms of things I say to myself as a kind of philosophy/mantra, I’d say probably “do no harm but take no shit” is my main one that I keep in mind. same energy but a different angle is “always keep a few fucks around so you can refuse to give them later”, which was told to me in a dream by Dionysus, so there you go.

in terms of specific ways to describe things, I’m always a fan of saying “jingled his jester hat” or “honked his clown car” to mean people being rude or ignorant or petty; so for example someone coming into my inbox with a bad take would be described as “jingling their jester hat into my inbox”; likewise if someone is hella mad over something trivial I might say they’re over in the corner jingling their jester hat or honking their clown car.

three best pieces of advice

anything you can do right away, do right away; if a group of drunk people are singing/chanting avoid them, because that level of energy can quickly turn violent with drunks; it’s never too late to change your trajectory, pick up new hobbies, master new skills, or get into a subject.
