#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wen qing #wen ning #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #In the audio drama she quite literally opens the door and then leaves after seeing them without breaking conversation.#It is both so impressive and deeply funny to me.#I imagine her just literally pivoting in one foot and walking right out.#She came home after a long day at work and in 0.5 seconds went “I would rather go back to the office than deal with this right now”.#Besides tickling me to near tears - this scene is also a great introduction to Wen Qing - her first instinct is to protect!#She lives by the code of 'I don't care who you are - if you need help I will lend it.' a true doctor and professional.#Sure she is *mad* that Wen Ning puts himself (and her to a lesser extent) at risk by helping 'the enemy' but she gives in quick.#I love Wen Qing a lot - she is such an unsung hero in this story.#Sorry that her first appearance on this blog was...what it was. i keep thinking about hobbies and how i often spill over myself to pick up new ones. i have adhd, i end up trying something for like a month and then just getting far enough in it that i move on, satisfied.

and that should be fine; but it's never fine.

i am a pretty decent artist; but i can't just make art for my dnd campaign, i should be selling dnd maps and character designs and scene setting pieces. i can't just make my friends matching earrings, i need to get an etsy and ship them internationally and take bulk orders. i make pretty good props and decorations and use them to throw my friends parties - but i should be running a party planning business and start taking paying clients and networking and putting my skills to actual use.

for some reason, i never figured out the specifics of pottery. it was a fun class and i enjoyed myself - and still, i'm embarrassed, years later, that i put in all that useless effort. everything i make has to be stunning. stellar. i should have applied myself more. maybe i'm too lazy. maybe i'm broken and selfish and needy. actually creative people would have kept going; they would be bettering themselves at every possible opportunity.

we find ourselves in this trap, even accidentally: we need to commodify our time, because it is a commodity. if we spend our efforts and our time not earning, isn't that the same thing as burning free money? and god forbid you ever take up a hobby that ends up being more expensive than you thought. you sit in your car and you look at the receipt and in your head you hear a conversation that isn't even happening - your mom or your friend or your partner all saying oh great. not this shit again. it's always something with you, and it never actually means anything.

i have realized this horrible thing, recently - i'll get excited to start a project, pick up a new hobby. and then i just... stop myself. i start thinking about the amount of time it will take, and how it'll look in my monthly budget. what if i can't even produce a good enough final product. sure, it's exciting to think about how i could make my friend her own custom dice. but i'm just polluting the earth if i don't get it right. better not bother. better not try.

restless, i get caught in the negative space. the feeling that oh god, i want to create. and that horrible sense - yeah, but i don't have the time to just put to waste.

HI. not a hazbin fan myself HOWEVER I am the Character Redesigner and I've wanted to redesign alastor FOREVER..... notes under the cut

gave him a dried blood/liver colour scheme

bone coloured accents to really lean into his theme and make him visually different from other characters

antlers more noticeable!!! they'd still grow when he gets Scary

really played into the idea of him being a carnivorous deer, that idea was so cool and I wish it was explored more visually

his staff is more recognisable as a radio device!! specifically an old fashioned one

kept the pinstripes in his original design but moved them to the pants

his bow tie is distinct from the rest of that area of his design!! in his original design it really gets lost in all the patterns and similar colours I feel

made him REALLY tall. like 7-8ft because its fun and scary

gave him glasses and not just a monocle. I think it suits him and the red lenses are more noticeable now!!

Anyways rlgl au Moon is the kind of guy who loves to cook and has an aesthetic blog about foods and recipes. But he really doesnt like eating because then he has to have his chest compartment cleaned and thats never nice.

Look, I have to put a disclaimer up front and say that I really really really enjoy this book from what I've read of it, and I really think this has the potential to be a book that I highly recommend.

But I am 100% going to be petty about the fact that The Dabbler's Guide to Witchcraft absolutely has stuff yoinked uncredited from Tumblr, so my notebook is definitely going to be filled with things like "Oh he's quoting Neil Gaiman! That's very cool. And I'm impressed that he actually knows how to attribute a quote to the person who said it! I didn't think he knew how to do that!"

I am going to be grumpy about it, and I refuse to be pacified.

But having a book that is explicitly covering things that too many other books don't say (like the ethics of crystals, predatory mentors, cultural appropriation and the harms that it causes) is very very very nice indeed.

fleki and lycion’s dynamic is just too good and genius

This is a mini collection of my thoughts on them and a rewrite of something I posted online a few days ago. Be aware this is not an in depth analysis unfortunately, but just a shitty surface level run of the stuff I like about them and how they interact!

I find it hard to put their relationship into words. But they’re like TWINS in spirit. You feel me??! They get into trouble together, nap together, weed sesh and exposing the canaries, just always together, regular bffisms. I love it.

(They could probably kiss and not feel much cuz they’re just chill like that, unless you want them too idk!!)

Also peep Fleki on Lycion’s back like if he’s still a big fluffy wolf 😭

Which brings me to another point!

Wolves and Ravens are known for having a symbiotic relationship in nature.

Fleki is able to control her familiars which often take the form of corvid-raven like birds, and of course Lycion can transform into a wolf man.

This is one of the little things I just personally really life about them. I have no idea if this was intentional for not, but I I wouldn’t put it past Kui if it was.

They’re so precious and of course I have to mention the more soppy side of their relationship.

Lycion walking in on Fleki being passed out while in a hallucinogenic state after taking drugs. He automatically goes to shift her into a recovery position and then waits by her bedside for her to come out of her trance.

The last line, “I think this world’s a bit of a cesspool myself…but it’s pretty decent when I’m taking with you. Hurry back alright?”

It’s a good little comment on how important they are to each other, or at least Lycion to Fleki 😭 I would love to see more on what she thinks of him. Please Kui.

I feel it’s obviously she trust him the most though.

Let’s loop back to their charms though.

“Fleki, get this.” You know their shit talk seshs (about their coworkers) go crazy. They're also kinda like weird kids. Fleki wears those amazon anime hoodies with the stolen art you only see being promoted by youtube and ig meme accounts that are probably also dropshippers. And Lycion is a gay furry. They probably woulda loved running otherkin blogs.

But I do like how Fleki tends to wear colorful eyesore attire with different layers and patterns, meanwhile Lycion tends to wear more dull toned, gray, simple outfits. Opposite aesthetic style dynamic win!
