We always had a lot of tumbleweed around here, but for a long time I didn’t know it flowered before turning into the spiky brown stuff that blows across Western movie sets.

Sometimes I find huge clumps of it but other times it’s just small clusters. I think they’re also called Russian thistle.

peanut butter's first proper, intact shed with me. during his actual first shed with me i was still having trouble regulating humidity.

this means he was probably snapping at me because he was about to shed and not because he was hungry. this is actually relieving for me since he's never snapped at me for a food response before, so this makes more sense as an explanation. he was back to his sweet self today when i brought him out!

But really -- I love the symbolism of his snakeskin boots.

Y'see, snakes aren't supposed to have feet, like that's the whole biblical mythology of snakes.

And here he is, with his sidewinder hips swaying back and forth as he saunters about in his snakeskin boots, on his feet. Because no one's going to tell him he has to crawl, and he'll not only walk, he'll saunter about as he damn well pleases.
