Since youre antifascist, how about you give us a definition of fascism? What exactly makes someone a fascist? (and in case you use terms such as left-wing or right-wing be sure to define them too)
Guess it's been a while since a clever Anon challenged us to define fascism, huh? Right, let's get into it: Via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum:
Tumblr media
Yale professor Jason Stanley:
Tumblr media
“Fascism is a creation of race hatred and its politically organized expression.” - Willhelm Reich, The Mass Psychology of Fascism (1933).
“Fascism is capitalism plus murder.” - Upton Sinclair
“Repression by brute force is always a confession of the inability to make use of the better weapons of the intellect — better because they alone give promise of final success. This is the fundamental error from which Fascism suffers and which will ultimately cause its downfall…that its foreign policy, based as it is on the avowed principle of force in international relations, cannot fail to give rise to an endless series of wars that must destroy all of modern civilization requires no further discussion. To maintain and further raise our present level of economic development, peace among nations must be assured. But they cannot live together in peace if the basic tenet of the ideology by which they are governed is the belief that one’s own nation can secure its place in the community of nations by force alone. ” - Ludwig von Mises,  Liberalism: A Socio-Economic Exposition (1927).
“Spent most of the day reading fascisti leaflets. They certainly have turned the whole country into an army. From cradle to grave one is cast in the mould of fascismo and there can be no escape … It is certainly a socialist experiment in that it destroys individuality. It destroys liberty.” -  Harold Nicolson, The Harold Nicolson Diaries : 1919-1964 (2004).
“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.” - Franklin D. Roosevelt
“A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends….If we define an American fascist as one who in case of conflict puts money and power ahead of human beings, then there are undoubtedly several million fascists in the United States.” - Henry A. Wallace
“Fascism is the cult of organised murder, invented by the arch-enemies of society. It tends to destroy civilization and revert man to his most barbarous state. Mussolini and Hitler might well be called the devils of an age, for they are playing hell with civilization.” - Marcus Garvey,  Authors take Sides on the Spanish War, 1937 Philosophy Tube's breakdown of the elements of fascism is very thorough and recommended if you're not the reading type. But do you read books? We hope so if you're looking to engage in political discussion about anything. Here are some books that tackle the definition of fascism, in whole or in part, that we would recommend to you (check/order from your local library!) Mark Bray's highly-accessible Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook is a great starting point for this topic.
Tumblr media
Columbia history professor Robert O. Paxton's excellent book The Anatomy of Fascism goes into this in great detail.
Tumblr media
There's also Umberto Eco's The Eternal Fascist
Tumblr media
or his "practical list for identifying fascists" as well as Hannah Arendt's seminal The Origins of Totalitarianism
Tumblr media
We hope you weren't looking for a simple answer to the complex question of "what is fascism?" Anon, just as we hope you're up to taking our challenge of checking out all of the above so you're curiosity is satisfied and you're well-versed on the topic.

Music For Two People in A Secret Relationship
Tumblr media
RE4R!Leon x F!Agent!Reader
Tumblr media
Leon is a stickler for the rules. Well, he was– he made sure that he followed the rules he was made to obey, even when he didn’t exactly agree with them. One fine training day, you lunged at him with a combat knife, a deadly fire in your eyes and he felt the ground beneath him shift. He had to move and dodge away from the next offense, even if he wanted to give himself time to admire you. You moved like a panther, your gaze much more penetrating than the blade you held in a reverse saber grip; you embodied one too, light footfalls as you circled him before pouncing with your claws out towards the man in front of you. If giving in to the calling of his heart is a crime then he’d gladly be an outlaw.
Here he is now, dancing around the rules in order to be your boyfriend; twisting, bending, and extending his will to resist the temptation to hold your hand in the walls of the USSTRATCOM headquarters, proudly referring to you as “his” and for him to hear you call him “yours” towards colleagues and higher-ups. He had to settle for the tension-filled stares across the briefing room, the kinds of looks that set off sparks in his chest, and the electric accidental brushes of his finger against yours as he reaches for something.
Although Valdelobos is everything but idyllic, he’s thankful for the opportunity to be with you despite this decrepit village being another reminder of Raccoon City; he wouldn’t want to relive Raccoon City again but it’s less triggering for him because he’s with you … and a certain Spanish gentleman with a penchant of flirting with his girlfriend; he didn’t trust the man one bit but what choice did he have? The man held vital information regarding the villagers and Umbrella; a former scientist, Luis claimed. Despite him being a little different from the usual scientists behind BOWs, he seemed to know a lot regarding the cult and the parasite– Las Plagas. Charming and charismatic too, the perfect man all in all. He also served as the brains behind the group, oddly familiar with the puzzle mechanisms that the Los Illuminados employed.
Now, all of you were stuck in this misty baroque ballroom somewhere in Salazar’s palace. As soon as everyone was inside the room, the big wooden doors closed and several locks were heard clicking in place. Silence followed, Ashley huddled in the middle by you, Leon, and Luis’ bodies as you formed a protective circle. The fact that silence followed and not the groans and cultic chanting unsettled everyone, unused to this odd peace. After a few moments of guns being out, Luis’ Red 9 is holstered back into its brown leather confines.
“Do you smell that,” he softly whispers. “The rusty air. This ballroom was an old bastion for the Los Illuminados, held their sacrifices here but albeit more… morbid. Sacrifices were released like bulls in a bullpen, they all tried to escape while trying not to die on the way– had to escape booby traps and avoid stepping on the wrong tiles. There’s a lot more with the trap system they set up and they’re all elaborate.”
The atmosphere that hung over everyone was heavy and miserable now that Luis had to point out the history behind the room. No one stepped foot away from where they were standing, afraid to trigger something to fly out and impale someone.
“What ballroom is this,” Ashley asks.
“The Birdcage,” Luis responds. “La Jaula de Pájaros.”
“I’ve read somewhere about certain macabre ballrooms being connected to cult hide-outs and traps and usually, the ways to beat those traps is somehow connected to culture like dances and poems,” she begins to explain. “Basically, we might need to dance or make music to make it out alive for this one. Just like… just like a bird. Wait– this place’s name is ‘birdcage’ so we have to escape like birds by means of making music and moving around like how birds chirp and fly!”
“Make music? How exactly,” you ask.
“Rhythmic tapping might be one of them,” Luis suggests.
You look at the people around you, eyebrows meeting in the middle as their foreheads crease in focus and worry. Leon bent down and observed the ground, calloused fingers grazing over the cracked tiles. With each lengthy swipe of his finger, he noticed that the imprints on the ground had a pattern. He leaned closer to the ground and observed what looked like musical notes; he turned to the ground Ashley stood on and noted the same patterns of notes and symbols used.
“There’s musical notations on the ground, maybe we can use that for the rhythm of our tapping,” Leon informs the group. “Who here can read music–”
“I can,” you interrupt. You bend down, fingers skimming over the etching. After a few seconds of remembering which notes sounded a certain way, you get back up and relay the information you just got. You get everyone’s attention and start humming the tune before softly stomping your boots on the ground, asking everyone else to follow along to make sure that they remember the beat.
“Uh guys,” Ashley speaks up. “We have to start soon.”
She points to the ceiling, several ganados kept in cages dangling overhead. The ceilings may be high from where you all stood, but there was nothing separating your group and them. With a determined yet wary nod, you nod to Luis. He approaches you and bows, to which you respond with. He slowly places his hand on your waist, the other gently holding your gloved hand. You glance at Leon, seeing him do the same with Ashley with the placements of his hand in areas that don't make Ashley feel uncomfortable. You give Leon another nod, signifying the start of the dance. Your pair and Leon’s slowly drift to opposite parts of the room, dancing a fierce tango with rhythmic footfalls. You could dance but not in this way and you were lucky that Luis was there to guide you. In the drop of the beat, he spun you and for a quick moment you saw Leon glance at your direction before turning his gaze back to Ashley and making sure he doesn’t mess up his part and involve Ashley in whatever fuck-up he might make. You wouldn’t admit this to Luis but you wished that it was Leon who was spinning and dipping you, that it was the large hand of Leon’s that was perched on your waist. Maybe you’d like to go dancing with Leon once this shit is all over, maybe invite Luis too but you’ll spend most of the evening slow dancing with Leon when you’ve both had one too many drinks. You knew that Leon felt the same based on the gawking Leon unintentionally does, those types of gawks that once you blink, you’d miss and assume that you were just seeing things differently. As much as Leon admitted that Luis was a gifted dancer to his standards, he wished that he could just swoop in and swing you around, to feel your hand around his neck and for you to gaze up dreamily at you when he dips your body. It doesn’t take long for you to get into the dance, the twirls and spins along with the echo of the taps of shoes helping you get into the feel of dancing even though this dance could very much determine whether or not everyone will make it out of this ballroom.
After a few minutes of dancing, all of you finish the beat and you hear a faint click. The eyes and mouth of a tarnished Tarasca statue moves, its neck opening to reveal an ornate conical capsule. Hastily, you run to the statue and take the capsule and twist it open. An intricate copper key falls out.
“We might be able to get out of this,” Leon points out. Hurriedly, he runs to the doors and inserts the piece of metal to the keyhole.
“Careful, Sancho. This thing is brittle,” Luis reminds him. “All that dancing will be for nothing if the key snaps while it’s inside!”
“I know what I’m doing,” your partner seethes.
The faint sound of the door lock’s mechanisms clicking to unlock causes everyone to breathe a sigh of relief, Leon pushing the doors open to let everyone out before himself. You mouth a small thank you to him, to which he responds with a small smile. He finally gets out and urges everyone to run, since the cages holding the ganados were being lowered. After a few minutes, everyone is now out of the palace. All of you stop by the ruins of an old stone house, sinking to the ground to catch your breath.
“Hah… D-didn’t know… hah… you looked lovely in pink,” Luis points out with a tired yet smug smirk bringing a finger up to motion to the flush in your cheeks. “Etérea.”
The Spaniard doesn’t miss the way the blond’s gaze slightly darkens, moving to you as he places a hand on your back as you still catch your breath. You look at Leon as he asks if you’re okay, to which you give him a small smile and a thumbs-up. Leon withdraws his hand from your back to radio back to Hunnigan, giving her information on where you just came from and how everyone’s doing. Since you managed to catch your breath, you check on Ashley who’s doing a lot better now. You offer her the remaining water in your flask, to which she gulped down audibly.
“Water never tasted so divine, holy crap,” she exclaimed as she handed you your flask back.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Since you and Leon were unsure of the safety of the area, you decided that it would be best for you to start moving somewhere less dangerous. Ashley was growing tired, grumbling about her feet hurting but she was still soldering on, walking without breaks. Luis’ chatter made the trip less boring, occasionally talking to Ashley and then flirting with you. After seeing Leon’s subtle reaction to him complimenting your flushed cheeks after running, the cheeky side of Luis decided to flirt with you some more to see how far he can push the reserved and stoic man.
“Hey,” Luis begins. “After all this, what do you say to a little Spanish countryside getaway? You and me.”
“Sounds nice,” you say. “But I’ve got a little night out scheduled with someone when I get back.”
“You aren’t exactly saying ‘no’.”
“I’m going to have to confirm this with my boyfriend. You’re a chill man but I still have to let my man know.”
Luis simply chuckles, his steps slowing down so he’ll fall in step with Leon who is busy craning his head here and there, trying to spot any threat before a possible threat spots you. Well, this is only half true. As soon as he heard Luis proposing the future prospect of him showing off the Spanish countryside to you, he forced himself to pay attention to something else other than the fact that you’re smiling and laughing softly at the Spaniard. The agent brushes whatever he heard off, knowing that his girlfriend loves him and only him but the fact that he can’t do much, especially that their relationship isn’t exactly encouraged at their agency and the fact that they’re both at work; he’s relieved that you aren’t returning his flirting. All he can afford to do is to ask if you’re fine by masking it behind the simple concern for a coworker and nothing more.
“How’re you holding up, Sancho Panza,” Luis whispers to which Leon responds with silence.
“Ah, I think I know why you’re silent,” the chatty man beside him observes. “It’s because… you like her!”
Leon stops in his tracks and looks at Luis with a slightly baffled expression, head tilted with his eyes slightly squinted before proceeding to walk again, the squelch of his boots against mud resuming again.
“I know just the remedy to this, Leon,” Luis excitedly begins, lowering his voice just before he continues the rest of his sentence. “Y’know, I know a nice bar somewhere in Madrid. Good drinks, good music. I’m sure she’d love it there.”
Leon stays silent again but mentally notes the ‘good drinks, good music’. It would be nice to take her somewhere upbeat.
“But if that’s getting a bit too ahead of our current predicament then you can offer to tend to her wounds, best done in the evening when the night is cold and the fire is the only thing keeping us warm. It’s a sincere tender moment, just imagine it: you, her, and the rustling of trees. She–”
“She’s my girlfriend. I’ve done plenty of that and more so she’d go out with me,” Leon interrupts.
Luis freezes on the spot, eyes the size of golf balls, with his mouth ajar. Leon simply smirks and scoffs at the sight, trudging on. After a few moments, Luis comes rushing back to him. Luis is just staring at him, going off at him in Spanish while he just continues walking and tries to hide a smug grin. Luis wraps up on whatever he was saying, now staring back and forth at you and him before walking a little faster to join you and Ashley several steps ahead. The usual cocky expression makes its way back to Luis’ face, shooting you and Leon a knowing look now before chuckling along. Moments later, Leon decides to speed up walking to be able to catch up with everyone. He hears Ashley and Luis exchanging jokes with you occasionally laughing and butting in with your own. Out of the blue, Leon nonchalantly wraps an arm around your waist, much to Luis and Ashley’s shock.
“Ash, don’t tell HQ about this,” you whisper with a wicked grin before getting on your tiptoes and planting a kiss on Leon's cheek.

NOTE - Thanks to the lovely anon that requested this, I hope you enjoyed reading this :) I had a lot more fun writing this since I had to think a little more than I usually do when I write (if it makes sense), especially for the ballroom part of the fic. I'll try to write for other versions of Leon soon since I mostly write about RE2 Leon. Also, does anyone know the manga 'Veil' ?? I've recently (yesterday) got into it and now I'm hoping that physical copies are being sold where I live... Aleksander is cute I'll say that (I NEED AN ALEKSANDER IN MY LIFE IM SO ALONE AND SINGLE RIGHT NOW- SINGLE SINCE BIRTH EVEN). Anyways, that's it and thank you soo much for reading my fics!! I <3333 UUUUUU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dividers are made by @benkeibear , the images are made by me (sourced from Pinterest).

Trancework Percussion Dive, Part I
This is really long so I will split it into 2 parts.
Different instruments and combinations of instruments are used for different things in the wonderful world of Mediterranean (and well beyond) trancework. Instruments that fall into the frame drum category are generally the ones used for ecstatic rituals but that is not always the case. So, let's take a look at some instruments to go over what they are used to do and at least some of the reasons why. Apologies in advance to the lyre people (or should I say Apollo-gies?), no stringed instruments in this line up.
Tumblr media
First up we have just a basic frame drum. These are usually round, unless you are going for a Spanish or ancient Egyptian model--in which case the drum will sometimes be a square. Like so:
Tumblr media
Some modern versions of the frame drum use a synthetic head, which is very good for learning. You get a good sound and an opportunity to build up some strength and toughness in your hands without obliterating your hands on goat hide. A rough goat hide drum will take the skin right off your hand if you are playing for hours and hours. So, either make sure you have a very smooth head or start with a synthetic head drum. I am very partial to the Remo Renaissance frame drum, 16" up to 18" for learning to make trance music. It has a lovely resonance that improves as the drum ages.
If you want to make ecstatic trance music, that's where things start getting more interesting. Most ecstatic traditions of the Med (perhaps all but I am saving room for anything I may have forgotten) involve making music using metal ringing against metal. This is because metal ringing against metal has been used to compel spirits in the Med since at least the Iron Age, if not before. Those associations run really deep to this day. So, any cult that has a focus on that sort of thing will have instruments built for it. Like these!
youtube
This is basically a cake pan. Like the kind you would have in your kitchen if you were inclined to bake. Percussion instruments have a very deep association with accessibility to the common person, the peasant classes, the public, the impoverished. Drums are meant to be smacked and you can do it to just about anything that makes a sound. They are not meant to be expensive or hard to play. So there are quite a few types of percussion instruments that have a whole other life in the kitchen apart from making music.
I am a firm supporter of the cake pan/cooking pot drum revival, especially in ritual context with the Mountain Mothers (like Kybele, Ida, Rhea, Magna Mater, & the Black Madonnas). Other instruments that are devoted specifically to the Mountain Mothers, apart from basic frame drums, include tambourines, tammorras, tribballacce, metal cymbals, sistrum, and pretty much any drum made with some kind of metal that rings against itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Pictured: Tribballacce, Tambourine with a hennaed head, metal finger cymbals, a sistrum, Azeri Dayereh, Maghrebi Bendir, Persian Daf, & Egyptian Riqq)
These are all specifically used for compelling spirits, which is something the Cult(s) of the Mountain Mothers are devoted to. And this is something that the Dionysian cults adopted directly from the Cults of the Mountain Mothers. The Mediterranean style of play is what I call single handed frame drum--for lack of a better description. This is a style that is still prevalent among many of the Mediterranean islands and in what is now Southern Italy but it used to be a method used by pretty much everybody in the region.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, I lied. There is one lyre in this post. lol ^
Tumblr media
How do you play with one hand? So glad that I imagined you asking! There are a few ways. I started out by studying Southern Italian tammorra and tarantella rhythms but you can start anywhere you find single handed frame drum.
youtube
Now Dionysian trancework does everything and goes everywhere. Some variation of the Cult of Dionysos utilizes every possible avenue of trance. And sometimes so do the Mountain Mothers. I would say Dionysian trancework is an even split between metal and wood/hide percussion while the Mountain Mothers are more strongly associated with ringing metal--especially iron or bronze.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that is where instruments like this come into play. These are classical Hellenic krotala. There are also even older Egyptian versions made of bone or ivory but the Hellenic version is largely made of wood. More modern options may include large nutshells as well. I did a whole two part deep dive on the Krotala. These instruments are found heavily in the Cults of Artemis & Dionysos but the Mountain Mothers do also occasionally get in on the action with these.
Tumblr media
The Egyptian version, dated to about 1900BCE. ^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Classical Krotala in context. ^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can still find the dances that go with these traditions out in the world today. The Turkish and Hellenic/Turkish variations use wooden spoons (Kaşık or Kesik). And here's how you get down with these things.
youtube
There is also a Southern Italian version in the same family tree. This is Tammurriata.
youtube
And honestly more variations all over the place that I will have to get into in the 3rd Krotala dive installment. Tammurriata uses naccere, which are basically another name for castanets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now you might be wondering why we use different types of percussion for different things. The reason for that is compartmentalization and the inherent spiritual authority of the instrument. Wooden instruments are associated with wilderness deities and are valued at least in some part for their potential to burn. This makes them suitable for gods that double as both wilderness and death deities. Death because of the association with burning on a funeral pyre and special folkloric relationship between the dead and fire. Metals are not used in the same way.
Metals are associated foremost with the mountains where ore was pulled from. This gives them associations with darkness, caves & caverns, as well as monsters that go bump in the night. Secondarily, later in the timeline, metals took on an association with weather-based sorcery--which translates as Wind Spirits and Storm Gods as well as gods and spirits associated with Blacksmithing. So the cult of any deity who rules over caves, the sky, or weather spirits will use metal instruments in their rituals. This encompasses both the Cults of the Mountain Mothers as well as the Cults of the Storm Lords--and all their attending deities. This is where the practices of the Kouretes & Koryvantes come from.
And I will have to pick this up again in part II because I have reached my maximum allotted number of images for this post. Whee!

popular opinion: in medieval times (1016 years btw) they barely washed, they used to eat the same five things every day, they were generally miserable, died very early and didn't have any kind of serious medicine. they used religion as witchcraft and they were technology stuck. also, INQUISITION.
reality:
they washed, quite regularly, like any other worker in the country. not only that, they knew there was a correlation between dirt and infections. warriors used to wash themselves and their clothes thoroughly before a battle, because they knew wounds would have a less likely chance to become infected if they didn't come into contact with dirt (they actually boiled their linens).
Europe have always had its large variety of vegetables, we just stopped eating them / grow them / because after the 1400 some of the imported seeds were easier to farm in large quantities in various climates (but we lost most of their knowledge after the 50s). we always had lots of herbs so food did have taste.
they were not miserable, they were simply living. they had a decent work/life balance but it's not like the Roman Empire crumbled and everything become very sad (like, no holidays, free time, food and shelter. you have to remember that the nuclear family is a very young concept. people lived in large numbers, extended families etc. you were never alone and you shared responsibilities and all). they were still regular people with regular lives and regular problems (and honestly, can you look at our world today and saying we don't have to worry about was, famine, drought and pestilence?).
yeah the life expectancy was not the one of today but it wasn't that uncommon to reach 50 o 60. it depended a lot of your job, luck, class, care of yourself, etc.
they did had medicine. not the one of today but you know all those "modern" bio remedies based all on plants etc? yeah, they're old. very old and they could cure some common stuff and hard stuff (I should find that link of a medicine book that there was only one copy of it in England and had the only recipe for curing an eye disease that it's still tricky today).
yeah. no. yes, they were religious in a different way that we are today because religion kind of permeate every aspect of their life. you have to remember that theater was not allowed, but religious reenactment were and you can betcha they went full drama on them (it's actually how the theater got to be reborn). so it was like the cinema of today. they did not fall on their knees praying for God or the Saints to save them at any occasion, they put work towards fixing their problem. not very different than today.
guys, you seriously believe that in 1016 years, with scholars freely running through the lands of Europe (they used to get free passage everywhere), books being copied and shared, big fairs happening regularly with people from near and far countries participating, that there wasn't even a single tiny tiny technological improvement? I'll leave you the wikipedia article for you to read in your own time
guys, if Galileo taught us anything is how they were not so ready to burn people at the first sign of heresy. "heretics" got several warnings and occasions to abjure whatever they were doing and killing them was the last extreme solution (like, refusing to stop following your own cult, preaching to the masses, fortifying your village to resist the besiege from the Church army, etc...). the Spanish inquisition was another thing and it was after the medieval millennium.
I'm not saying it was a peachy period, I'm just saying it was a period and not the worse by a long shot.

Any new upcoming series with w/w?
Lol, I had a whole answer typed up and almost completed last night, I could only remember a few upcoming shows but added a bunch of ongoing and recent with descriptions and then the post editor hiccuped and removed most of it so I angrily went to sleep instead.
But maybe that was for the best, because this morning a video of upcoming f/f shows in April came out so now I can add a few more.
There's Dead Ringers, that show with Rachel Weisz playing twin gynecologists and since it's a genderbent adaptation of an existing movie we already know it's gonna be super messy. It would be pretty wild for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies to not have some wlw and luckily it does, the trailer itself reveals a couple. Tiny Beautiful Things, with Kathryn Hahn and Sarah Pidgeon (Leah in The Wilds) playing her younger self, apparently Kathryn Hahn's character's daughter is queer. Slip is a kinda scifi, where a bored wife cheats on her husband and realizes every time she has sex with someone, she wakes up married to them. The show's about her trying to get back to her original life, and there are a series of different husbands, but also a few wives (also, the first "replacement" husband is played by Boorman's actor from Willow!). There are also the upcoming Thai dramas Be Mine, Reverse 4 You, and 23.5, as previously mentioned.
In terms of returning series coming back, there's the Disney cartoon The Owl House, getting its final ep. Single Drunk Female's second season is returning soon. It has a bi lead, and she did have a female love interest but it was pretty temporary compared to the will they/won't she has with the main character male love interest. Her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, also a very main character, is a lesbian, and she's married but her wife's actress is a regular on another show now so I dunno if she'll be back.
Welcome to Eden, a Spanish thriller about people trapped on an island with a cult, ended the first season on a major cliffhanger so it'll be exciting to see what happens now, though it feels like anyone could die so that's a bit nerve-wracking. It has a lot of different kinds of rep, f/f, m/m, trans, one of the gay guys is deaf too and it's a plot point that his boyfriend won't learn sign even though his friends have.
The Epix series From is a pretty well done horror series about people trapped in a town and who get hunted at night, it's more ominous and suspenseful than outright gory. It actually has three wlw, though one is mostly with one guy, the one who's engaged to a woman outside the town seems to be about to start a romance with another guy, and one is a teen who's crushing on the first woman, feels unrequited. I didn't know about any of them when I started, so they're a bonus, the show itself is rather compelling.
As for current shows, The Power (lol, get it, current) started last night on Prime, it's nice that after the misreading of Class of '07, this new show about girls does immediately have a wlw. Gap's already finished but it made such a splash, if you haven't watched, I'll mention it again. The other Thai drama, Show Me Love, is still airing. Fantasy Island is honestly kind of sweet, it feels like one of those '90s shows, episodic, bright colors and optimism, and great guest stars. One of the two leads, I'd say, or at least the second billed main, is queer.
We got our three firefighter shows, 9-1-1 with a solid (now) established relationship, Fire Country, a lesbian character but not much screentime, and of course Station 19, which is honestly winning me back in a huge way with their current storyline (if they land it).
Cop wlw update (why are there so many of them!): NCIS Hawai'i remains super cute, especially when Lucy is on, looks like Ayanna on Law & Order: Organized Crime got herself a new gf with a super hot voice, The Rookie: Feds still has Niecy Nash playing a super likable and bi lead. I couldn't stand the egregious copaganda in FBI: Most Wanted, and like, imagine how bad it'd have to be, when I can still watch all the rest of these shows, but Sheryll's still there, so. Sin Huellas (No Traces) has already finished but gets another mention for being as funny as it was, with a cute, hot couple at the center. Rabbit Hole's just started, but the initial antagonist/probable grudging ally's an FBI lady who within the first 10 minutes of the first ep dropped that she had a wife. Van der Valk has started its third season and though I'm gonna keep hoping Lucienne's INCREDIBLY hot ex from 2x03 returns, Lucienne, second billed, is plenty hot by herself. Ariana Guerra, who played the novitiate in Helstrom, has joined the second season of CSI: Vegas. Her character's bi and has a main character boyfriend but he seems like he'll most likely end up with a different character.
I'm not really going through these in any particular order, except combining the above two types, but let me just blow through the rest of the ongoing shows: the Canadian family comedy Run the Burbs has been quite sweet in how it's written the teen daughter, How I Met Your Father comes across as an old fashioned sitcom, except one of the characters is a lesbian. It's kind of fun in its familiarity and low stakes. I didn't expect to be as drawn into The Watchful Eye as I did, the trailer felt quite soapy and it was, at times, but all the nannies were great, and I ended up quite liking the f/f side couple. It's amazing what actual personalities can do. :o A Million Little Things is winding down its final season and Grace Park's character is engaged to Cameron Esposito's character so it feels pretty endgame at this point.
If you didn't watch or stopped watching Carnival Row because the main m/f relationship seemed so especially trite, you maaaay want to give it another look. I'm not nearly caught up with Bel-Air, but in the first season they wrote Ashley's sexuality really well, especially since she's so young. I'm sure you can't have missed my Perry Mason gifsets by now, but I can only reiterate what a great character Della Street is. One of the kids in Gotham Knights is bi (and her brother is trans!) but I'm not sure it's worth getting invested before cancellation. Unless the CW is only going to keep projects involving the Supernatural trio?
At this point, hoping everyone who's into wlw has at least tried Yellowjackets or is aware enough of it to know they don't want to try it. Las Pelotaris 1926 is a Spanish language historical drama about female athletes playing--well, the sport is basque pelota but if you need a reference point, it's like squash or racquetball. If you haven't yet caught up with RWBY, now would be an okay time. Lastly, I've still never watched any of Riverdale or even Choni clips, but its final season has just started and you know, I gotta respect the longevity of whatever they've been doing with them, however up and down they seem to have been, and perhaps this final season will be an up. From what I've seen on SM, they seem to get endgame soulmatey treatment more than any of the other ships and I can respect that.
Aside from the Thai dramas that might air after April and a few of the other shows that ended their seasons in March (or February in Gap's case), all of these have eps airing this month. After this year of cancellations, I think it's worth enjoying what we can, even as we acknowledge how much lead/main character rep and longevity we're losing. :o

I think Prince boy has a crush on Izzy, just like the rest of the fandom
What you trynna do prince boy
“It’s about belonging to something when the world has told you you’re nothing” pirating keeps on being an allegory for the queer community, and it keeps being so sweet, especially to Izzy’s story
Wait when did Roach and Fang even get here?
THOSE LETTERS ARE NOT FOR YOU MISTER
Casually reading the letter while stabbing a guy, he just keeps on winning
The fanfics were right!!! He did find the letters!

Edward Teach canonically did a flip during a fight, my baby
They are both so supportive to their golden retriever friend/bf
Babe!!
“But you’re not a man. You’re soft” alright auntie
Trans Oluwande?
Izzy keeps saying eat the rich, and we stan him
Izzy!!!!!!! Hell yes!!!!
Oh oh my god
Please don’t tell me Swede died for that!
Oh okay no he’s like that princess bride dude, aight
Olu is a great support system
Ed is slaying in his gay ass sitting way
I DID NOT CONSENT TO HAVING A FULL BARE ARSE JUST DISPLAYED IN FRONT OF ME
Stede looks surprisingly sexy in that outfit
Alright, a little Archie Jim action, hell yeah
How come every time they kiss Izzy is just, in the background
THEY ALL LOOK SO GOOD!!
Frenchie!
Girlbosses, all of them
HOLY FUCKING SHIT JIM

Aww, Izzy does not care <3
Frenchie helps Izzy! Fuck do I ship that now?
If Izzy dies I’m gonna throw my computer
Izzy remains the best even while on deaths door
Wait he called him Eddie?
Okay I don’t have captions, so I have no idea what Izzy is saying here
WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?!?!
Okay I heard Twat
Something about family?
Oh my god…
Okay I’m not throwing my computer because it’s technically my school’s computer but like bruv
NO!!!
IZZY!!!!!!!!
Why him??????
Zheng apart of the crew? Ayo?
Stede don’t push it
WEDDING!!!
Why is Wee John officiating?
Maybe it’s because he’s Calypso
Oh no they’re all officiating that’s sweet
Mateys!!!
Roach is a doll
Frenchie is officially the first mate? Ayo???
INNKEEPERS!!!!!!!!!
Does that mean Frenchie is the captain??
The cravat!
Hi Buttons
Frenchie!
I think this is the first interaction Wee John and Frenchie has had all season, which is sad honestly
If we get a season 3, it better switch povs between The Revenge and Stede and Ed’s adventures as innkeepers, together with their pet bird Buttons and the ghost of Izzy

In celebration of the new guy audio here’s some honey and guy specific headcannons(tank is mentioned abunch though)
Tumblr media
Tw:again hella unorganized, cussing, maybe some angst, mention of of abuse and neglect, fluff so fluffy it’ll rot your brain, i can’t spell or edit for shit
Srry for formatting issues, I’m writing this on mobile
Honey grew up in a shit home with tank as their older sibling and only care taker, their mother was incredibly sickly and wasn’t given proper medical care until honey, tank, and their dying mother ran away from Washington to daliha after somehow getting Gabe’s number and leaving a mysterious ass message to look out for a 14y/o(tank) and 9y/o with their half dead mom on sled in the middle of winter
Honey and tank grew up in a cult like environment with a small ‘settlement’ of people in the middle of bum fuck nowhere Washington, with honey and tank living the farthest in the woods. To far for them to talk to anyone other than each other and their parents
Honeys father was neglectful and possessive of their mother, so he would often hurt honey and tank(tank mostly) for taking their mothers attention away from their father
After they moved to daliha, instead of spending the holidays with the pack, they spent it in the hospital with their mama until she finally was able to leave when honey was 16 and tank was 19, but anyways this is how honey first met guy
Guys family (including himself)was and still is incredibly accident prone and got himself a trip the to the hospital cause his dad fell of the roof trying to put up Christmas lights, guy was bored in the waiting room while honey was two chairs away from him waiting for tank to fill out hospitals papers(idk wtf I’m talkin about) and guy decided there and then that they were the love of his life….. I’m kidding, they’re like 15 kinda
Guy struck a conversation with a reluctant honey but they end up hitting it off really well. Though all good things come to an end and honey had to go visit mama and thought that was the last time they would see that cute(tanker teases them endlessly for this one) guy….
That is until when school is back in session and they find out they have like 3 classes with him
Guy doesn’t find out why honey was at the hospital until years later and their pretty deep in their relationship that honey tells him
On less angsty note honey is a very large wolf shifter(slot like tank, it runs in the family apparently) with an affinity to healing magic
When guy is told/finds out about the whole magic thing he is elated at the idea that honey can get even cuddlier and give him magic boo boo kisses(they vehemently deny the notion)
When guy met the pack David,Milo, asher, and tank gave him the some shovel talk put in their own ways. Guy was scared shitless but honey ended up defending their lovable idiot
At said pack meeting guy and angel have a spider man meme moment and david and angel shared the same “oh god there’s two of them now”. Lovingly though
Guy know how to cook two things and two things exclusively, and that’s pizza (obviously) and box Mac n cheese but honey is the chef in the relationship.
Honey is mixed Romanian and spanish and use to spend a lot time in kitchen with mama and tank so honey knows how to cook
Honey works out a lot as an outlet for all the trauma and anger issues so their pretty beefy and guy fuckin loves it
Guy is almost always the little spoon but whenever honey is having a bad day or feels like it they’ll let him be the big spoon
Honey is secretly super cuddly but only with the people they trust
Guy is scrawny af
Guy can’t take much seriously but the first time honey had a bad day while they were just roommates, it was the first time guy got seriously with honey, he was so gentle though.

Watching my first real Disney movie in possibly 10 years and I need your opinion as the Disney expert (cause you know me I've seen like 4 Disney movies)
Is Jungle cruise a good Disney movie in your opinion?
Is it regarded as a cult classic like the lion king (which I haven't seen) ?
What's your opinion on it as someone who's from South America?
I only signed up for watching this movie cause Jack Whitehall is in it, but as I'm watching it I ended up disliking him super quickly, he feels like a bad stereotype of a possible gay character or just the average American depiction of British upper-class prick.
So far nobody broke into a song which I have to give the movie some credit for.
@professorlehnsherr-almashy @thealmightyemprex
@themousefromfantasyland
So, I haven't watched Jungle Cruise yet (Emprex did, so they are more qualified to talk about it), but I do recomend this podcast talking about it in the context of jungle adventure movies portrayal of Latin America:
youtube
In this podcast episode we investigate the new adventure film Jungle Cruise. Disney’s latest attempt to turn a theme park attraction into a blockbuster movie tries to sidestep some of the ride’s more racist history but still leans on tropes of exoticism and colonial adventurism. We also discuss Disney’s baffling choice to include a series of gay jokes in the movie. Two guests join host Jonathan McIntosh for this conversation: Professor of literature and culture Felicia Lopez and professor of law Carl Williams.
There was an attempt of Disney to market Whitehall's characters as the milionth "Disney's first Gay Character", but it was a really vague aproach so most of the queer comunity didn't really care.
In recent yes, few of the live action movies have been musicals. The height of the live action Disney musicals were between the 60s and 70s, and usually included interaction with 2-D animated animal characters.
As for me being of South America, I will say that there is a problem with the industry in the US and Europe as a whole where south american cultures historically have been used interchangeably, and in the proccess you have movies where "brazilians" are show to have spanish names and speaking spanish (when our language is brazilian portuguese) and the capital of our country is either Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires (it is actually the city of Brasilia, which was inaugurated and replaced Rio de Janeiro as the center of goverment in 1960).

I think I’m level A2 transitioning to B1 in Brazilian Portuguese.
LSM (Mexican Sign Language) is something I really want to study but I always find excuses.
I’m interested in minority languages and I also think conlangs are very cool :))
Interests and hobbies:
LINGUISTICS!!! This is something I’ve always loved but never realized until I was in college. And don’t get me wrong, I love my degree and don’t plan to change it, but when I finish, studying linguistics or smth related is definitely a possibility! (ipaaciir comes from IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and my internet name)
History and anthropology. This is a passion I developed during my first year of college and it’s a class I would love to teach.
I also enjoy embroidery and sewing.

faketober might be over but we aint done yet with mesoma boies
what would you evolve this little slug into?
Today is day of the death, a well known mexican tradition and probably a modern version of the cult to the death that existed i nth eprehispanic era. Day of the dead is a celebration and remembrance of those who have passed away, its the day where the dead come back to be with their families, depending on the state this celebration might last the entire first week of november
slugavera
sugar skulls are a classic treat for day of the dead and chocolate skulls a variant of these
Tumblr media

cantrina
the origin of catrinas is interesting, the original skatch was made by José Guadalupe Posada in 1912 as a satire of people who would act high class like european royalty, trying to abandon the culture they came from while still being just as screwed (a literal skeleton trying to look fancy). i nthe century that has passed its become an icon of mexico and day of the death as its figure fit very well with the aesthetic and style of the celebration changing its meaning entirely
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[catrina] [catrina2]
tzonpanteon (panteon=graveyard in spanish)
Tzonpantlis where structures made with or representing rows of human skulls as an offering to the gods, they where also used to scare other populations away from trying to invade or attack serving as protection as well. its believed they might have had some influence in how ofrendas are organized now a days and the general idea of sugar skulls and decorated skull structures, its not uncommon to see people recreating tzompantlis with cardboard or foam skulls.

So I'm about to start a job of cultural mediator in a very structured and high-level art centre, and I already did that job, wrote an internship thesis on it, but it was in French.
This time it's in Spanish, and it's not in a little indie art centre where you can basically do whatever you want, nope, there are so many rules and protocols and different types of activities/exhib visits/workshops.
And I've been stressing out for days going through an initial formation, thinking, "shit, is my Spanish good enough to receive classes and people? Will I be able to understand and record all the information I need to give tours and workshops? Holy fuck what if they realize that I'm a fraud and I have no idea what I'm doing and also I can't speak a word of Spanish (despite living in Spain for a year and doing a master's degree in Spanish and hanging out with a bunch of Latinos all the time)?"
Anyway, tonight I improvised an entire speech about how in the majority of human cultures and religions across time and space you'll find both a god and/or goddess or a cult dedicated to sex and physical love and another god/goddess/cult dedicated to platonic bounds or art, sciences and knowledge and rejecting sex and physical relationships, think the trinity Aphrodite/Athena/Artemis. All of it totally sober, in a very loud bar, and entirely in Spanish.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, fuck that impostor syndrome, I CAN and WILL do the thing and I'll be good at it and it will be okay. Also I read my tarot before starting the formation and got The Magician, so double fuck you, impostor syndrome, you are neither welcome nor in charge here.

On October 26th 1911 the Gaelic poet, Sorley MacLean, was born on the island of Raasay.
He was brought up within a family and community immersed in Gaelic language and culture, particularly song. Sorley studied English at Edinburgh University from 1929, taking a first class honours degree and there encountering and finding an affinity with the work of Hugh MacDiarmid, Ezra Pound, and other Modernist poets. Despite this influence, he eventually adopted Gaelic as the medium most appropriate for his poetry. However, it should be noted that MacLean translated much of his own work into English, opening it up to a wider public than the speakers of the Gaelic language.
During the Spanish Civil War, MacLean was torn between family commitments and his desire to fight on behalf of the International Brigades, illustrating his left-wing - even Marxist - political stance. He eventually resigned himself to remaining on Skye. He fought in North Africa during World War Two, before taking up a career in teaching, holding posts on Mull, in Edinburgh and finally as Head Teacher at Plockton High School.
It is often said that what Hugh MacDiarmid did for the Scots language, Sorley MacLean did for Gaelic, sparking a Gaelic renaissance in Scottish literature in line with the earlier ‘Scottish Renaissance’, as evinced in the work of George Campbell Hay, Derick Thomson and Iain Crichton Smith. He was instrumental in preserving and promoting the teaching of Gaelic in Scottish schools. Through the diverse subject matter of his poetry, he demonstrates the capacity of the Gaelic language to express themes from the personal to the political and philosophical.
MacLean’s work was virtually unknown outside Gaelic-speaking circles until the 1970s, when Gordon Wright published Four Points of a Saltire - poems from George Campbell Hay, Stuart MacGregor, William Neill and Sorley MacLean. He also then appeared at the Cambridge Poetry Festival, establishing his fame in England, as well as Scotland and Ireland, where he had become something of a cult figure thanks to a fan base including fellow poet Seamus Heaney. A bilingual Selected Poems of 1977 secured a broader readership and a new generation began to appreciate his work.
Latterly, he wrote and published little, showing his concern with quality and authenticity over quantity. Never a full-time writer, he was also a scholar of the Highlands with a vast knowledge of genealogy, and an avid follower of shinty. Amongst other awards and honours, he received the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 1990. He passed on in 1996 at the age of 85, and was survived by his wife and two daughters.
I have posted many times about Sorley, and probably overused Martyn Bennet’s Hallaig, but if you haven’t heard it, please go to Youtube and search for it, you won’t regret it.
Todays poem is Tràighean/ Shores, the Gaelic version first, followed by the verse translated by his fellow bi-lingual poet, Iain Crichton Smith.
Nan robh sinn an Talasgar air an tràigh
far a bheil am beul mòr bàn
a’ fosgladh eadar dà ghiall chruaidh,
Rubha nan Clach `s am Bioda Ruadh,
sheasainn-sa ri taobhn na mara

fhad ‘s a bhiodh an cuan a’lìonadh
camas Thalasgair gu sìorraidh:
sheasainn an siud air lom na tràghad

Agus nan robh sinn ciudeachd

If we were in Talisker on the shore
where the great white foaming mouth of water
opens between two jaws as hard as flint –
the Headland of Stones and the Red Point –
I’d stand forever by the waves
renewing love out of their crumpling graves
as long as the sea would be going over
the Bay of Talisker for ever;
I would stand thee by the filling tide
till Preshal bowed his stallion head.
And if the two of us were together
on the shores of Calgary in Mull
between Scotland and Tiree,
between this world and eternity,
I’d stand there till time was done
counting the sands grain by grain.
And also on Uist, on Hosta’s shore,
in the face of solitude’s fierce stare,
I’d remain standing, without sleep,
while sea were ebbing, drop by drop.
And if I were on Moidart’s shore
With you, my novelty of desire,
I’d offer this synthesis of love,
grain and water, sand and wave.
And were we by the shelves of Staffin
where the huge joyless sea is coughing
stones and boulders from its throat,
I’d build a fortified wall
Against eternity’s savage howl.
As well as Hallaig I enjoy listening to Somhairle by Niteworks, an Electronic Celtic fusion band from the Isle of Skye who put some of Sorley’s words to music. Listen to it below

Your breakdown of who speaks Catalan is very interesting. What was shocking to me was how you said how Rinsy speaks Catalan. He was born in Barcelona so I would’ve imagined it’s the other way around with favoring Catalan more. But I can understand why Spanish is more favored. Also with Dani, I feel like he knows so many languages(as far as I know it’s Catalan, Spanish, Italian, English, and I know there’s at least one clip of him speaking French), he picks one for the day like picking out a shirt
I know you listed several regions that speak Catalan, but how common is it that Catalan is taught as a secondary language in Spain?? You said that some can hear it, but respond in Spanish or they respond in a more Spanish way. I don’t know much about Catalan, but it’s been fun learning a bit about it via MotoGP
Nope Rins speak the way he speaks Catalan because HE IS from Barcelona. Basically the "pure" Catalan comes from outside the big cities.
During the 60s and 70s, there was a massive moviment of people from different parts of Spain towards Basque Country, Madrid (city) and Catalonia, that was the places where the industry was building and expanding, so basically they moved to the big cities. In the case of Barcelona and the surroundings, the was a lot of people coming from Andalusia and Extremadura (South areas of Spain) that, plus the prohibition of speaking Catalan during the dictatorship (1939-1975) made that a whole generation didn't speak Catalan at all. (Fun fact! From a class of 20-24 students only 1 classmate had 4 grandparents born and raised in Catalonia back in early 2000 and I was the only one that had none). Places that weren't so affected by that influx of people kept the Catalan "pure", but not Barcelona. Another factor for Barcelona not having the "purest" Catalan is because it has become and international city, so having to choose between Catalan or Spanish, people will tend to use Spanish because there are more people who learn it.
Rins will end to favour the Spanish-like words and the Spanish sounds of the words when possible or straight up answering in Spanish. I do know that his family is from a close town to the Aragón circuit (Alcañiz) so I imagine he does speak Spanish at home rather than Catalan, which is fine I do the same. Favouring Catalan or Spanish just comes from your surroundings. If all your friends/family/teachers speak Catalan, you will speak with them in Catalan. Altought there's something funny going on, people do not call names in Catalan because how the language has been treated over the years, it's becoming kind of a "cult" language, which make it difficult to joke and make fun of your friends when you have to use words like "Calçasses" instead of an cabrón (asshole).
Yeah, Dani speaks a lot of languages, and most of the time is self-taught (or at least I remember he said that some time ago). I have hear him in Catalan, Spanish, English and Italian. I think there a video of him speaking French and I think he lives in a French speaking area in Switzerland, so he can choose and jump between several languages. But I think it ultimately comes to whom is he speaking. I think he spoke Catalan with Marc and Italian with Vale or any other Italian rider. I think with Pol is depending if there's a third party involved to choose between one or another.
youtube
Here Dani speaking some Japanese.
I only mentioned the areas where is spoken in Spain. Catalan is also spoken outside, in Andorra (where is the official language and the only country that has Catalan as an official language), Northern Catalonia (which is the South of France) and Alghero in Italy. Or at least that is what I have been taught since I was a child.
Tumblr media
In Spain, school starts at age 3-4 years old (we go by all the students born in the same year go t the same grade and school starts in September) until 15-16 years old. I can only speak from my experience in Catalonia, but we where taught most of the subjects in Catalan with the exception of Spanish (Grammar, vocabulary and literature) and English. We also had a classes to learn Catalan grammar, vocabulary and literature). There could be some wild teacher who decided to do their classes in Spanish for some reason, but it was not the norm. Even at University, most of my professors did classes in Catalan, although they could choose the language.
At university I had classmates from Menorca and from Valencia and they both spoke Catalan as their first language, so at least I know they had Catalan as a subject, what I don't know it's it the rest of the schooling was done in Catalan or Spanish.
Catalan has 2 big "dialects" (Western and Easter) and several smaller ones. You can actually know who is from where they are or where they have been taught by the way the speak their vowels, and some consonats. Like for example, Maverick who is from Gerona (another area from Catalonia) speaks much more softer than Pol or Dani (who again has one of the most amazing Central dialects I hear). And they speak different than Marc, who is more harsher due to the lack of a neutral vowel sound (it's in between a and e sound because he speaks a complet different big dialect).
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
Rins speaks Barceloní, which is the dialect spoken in Barcelona and the area and surroundings and one of the characteristics s actually the influence of the Spanish in the way the pronounce it. He also uses Spanish terms because he thinks in Spanish and then he translates, so sometimes his word choice is not the correct one, but it's okay, we understand it.
youtube
One of the reason why people would no answer in Catalan when asked something in Catalan is because they don't feel confident when speaking it. As I said, Catalan is becoming a "cult" language, reserved only for some spaces and kids are not using as much as before. It doesn't help that over the years it has been persecuted, banned and discredited.
In the case of Jorge Lorenzo, who actually say he learnt it, but doesn't speak it, it's due to his chaotic education he had. He missed a lot of school to go racing, at some point he moved from Mallorca to Barcelona (which are 2 different dialects) and I remember he say his dad made him choose between school and racing at some point. I think Jorge doesn't feel confident enough to talk it, so journalist just ask in Catalan because Jorge is okay with that (because the polite thing would be to switch to Spanish, which is done with other people).
I hope you can see all the videos. I know you won't understand them,, but at least you can see some differences in the way they talk.
If you want to know more about Catalan, I recommend the blog @useless-catalanfacts they know more about the differences and how is taught in different parts of Spain. There are also resources to learn Catalan too

INTRO POST !!
Hi :3 call me Cavee! (Ka vi) I had Tumblr before but like, I used it for publishing fanfiction and I kinda just wanted to have my own personal blog to just do whatever. So, I'm looking for moots!
Things about me:
She/her (cis girl)
I'm in highschool, I'm a minor, so please ADULTS DNI (or interact but don't be weird or dm me please 😔)
I think, I'm a lesbian, but idk I am girl, I like girls and other people ig? So I mostly just say I'm sapphic. I have kinda sorta been dating my partner (Nb spec) for around 2 years so.
I am bilingual! My first language is actually Spanish so I'm sorry if I have bad English at times :(
I sometimes write but I don't usually finish any of my projects 😕
I like to program! I mostly code in c++ and python. I mostly use c++ for schoolish related stuff but all my personal projects are coded in python (renpy)
I play videogames such as:
The sims 4 (haven't played in a while because I definitely didn't try pirating the game with all expansion packs but later didn't know how to add mods so I panicked and tried playing with my official game but it didn't work and now I don't know how to launch the sims)
Stardew Valley (similar situation, the game updated, for some reason I couldn't update my portrait mod and since I didn't want to play without it I haven't played in several months)
Genshin Impact (haven't played in like two weeks because of school)
Our Life Beginnings and Always
Doki Doki literature club (I have like 50 hours on MAS send help)
Class of '09

Obey me! Shall we date?
Colorful stage / project sekai
My Candy Love
Memories - Red White Cinderella (IF YOU KNOW THIS GAME AT ALL BE MY MOOT PLIS PLIS PLIS)
As you can tell I am a big fan of visual novels, and I have been slowly working on making my own! I have other games like Cult of the lamb, FNAF, omori, hollow knight, Undertale, Roblox, and Minecraft but I either haven't played that much if them or haven't played them in a very very very very long time.
I am also in other fandoms such as:
Sanrio
My little pony
Monster high
Demon slayer
Pokemon
Hamilton
Heathers
I would also say I am an artist, although I don't really post much of my art online.
Soo... Moots? Anyone??

Tumblr media
You couldn’t help but crave those sweet lips on yours again .Not even 24 hours had passed since you kissed the freak but at this point you felt like you were going mad.
As you punched your pillow late at night ,wishing to go back in time and punch stupid Stacy for making that stupid dare .
Throwing one last punch you laid down on your bed thinking about what had happened at school today .
“Oh come on y/n , are you scared the freak might reject you ?”Stacy said with a nasty smirk . “The queen of Hawkins is scared of one little dare?”
At this point you felt annoyed of her mocking and trying to embarrass you for her own satisfaction .
“ Y/N shouldn’t go near that freak,” Jason said disgusted ”He will corrupt her with his satanic ways”
You couldn’t agree more. Munson was known for not only being a freak but a supposed cult leader ,along with his Hellfire Club.
“I would never go near that freak ,“ you replied disgusted. Why would you go anywhere near as low as him ?
“Fine ,“ Stacy said . “But if you do ,do it, I might solve your little C problem in Spanish .“
This got you attention .This one C was going to smear your perfect grade record and you would do anything to prevent that from happening .You had no choice but to agree to this silly dare. It was going to be simple and fast, right?
When the lunch bell rang ,you waited for the cafeteria to get a little empty in order to talk to Eddie .
“Hey freak !” you called out in order to get his attention
“What do I owe the honor to the Queen of Hawkins?” he replied with a smirk but could hear his annoyed tone .
“I want to buy after school ,“ you replied back with a bored tone.”Don’t be late.“
Without giving him a second to reply you walked to your last remaining classes .
When the last bell rang ,you headed to the forest with one thing in mind .To get this over with .How hard can it be to kiss one freak ?
As you grew closer to the so called “spot” you saw that he was already at the table waiting for your arrival .Before you could utter a word, he said ,“ So it will be $20 for the weed .“
Surprised that he jumped right into the deal, you couldn’t help but feel offended that he didn’t offer any discounts like you heard from his so called ,“customers”.
So you put your plan into motion .Mustering the most innocent face you could put , you innocently said ,“ I was hoping we could arrange something. I kind of forgot my money .“
Once those words left your lips he stood up and started packing everything .”No can do sweetheart .No money ,no drugs. ”You couldn’t help but panic ,because if he left than you could kiss your perfect record goodbye .
You quickly got in his way to stop him from leaving .”Pretty please ,Eddie . I really need them to feel a bit relaxed and you are my only hope”,you said as you looked into his big doe eyes.
As every word was leaving your lips , you couldn’t help but walk near him each time until you could practically press yourself against him .
His gaze seemed to soften, but what caught you off guard was how their was a little bit of something else, lust .
Before you could continue the act ,you felt yourself being pushed , and felt your back hit a tree.
“Wh-,“you were cut-off by his lips on yours.Your brain was screaming to push him off ,but you didn’t want to stop.It was to addicting.
Everything had became too fuzzy and you couldn’t help ,but pull him closer while your hands got lost in his curls. You let out a small surprised noise in the middle when he decided to pick you up, and wrap your legs around his waist.
It didn’t stop you from breaking your kissing session. After a couple more seconds passed by , you both pulled back in attempt to get some air.
The intensity of the kiss caused for both of your lips to become swollen ,but you couldn’t help but crave more. So as you leaned to his lips again, you couldn’t help but whimper when you felt them pulling away.
Sudden realization of what you were doing hit you like a bucket of ice cold water and you finally made the rational decision to push him away.
”If you tell anyone about this I will ruin you, ”you threatened him and you left the forest in such a hurry.
Letting out a groan you looked at the clock flashing 1 AM ,you covered your face with you pillow. Why did you let it happen for so long? Why was it affecting you this much?
All you wanted was to sleep and act like this didn’t mean anything ,but as you touched your lips ,you couldn’t help but imagine if things had went farther .
The thought of Eddie’s lips on every inch of you body brought warm heat to your stomach and you couldn’t help but clench together your legs while thinking of the immense pleasure.
Now today is a new day.You are currently at your locker applying some lip glass but can’t help you eyes drifting to look for Eddie .But your search came to a stop as Stacy came up to you with her snarky smirk. “So y/n did you do it?”
“I did ,“you smirked .
“One little peck and he was falling on his knees,” you said smugly.
What a big lie that was. The little voice in your head screamed ,liar. You were the one suddenly wanting to beg him for more ,but it seemed like he was avoiding you.
Stacy grinned with satisfaction. “ Congratulations Y/N .Seems like you will be keeping that perfect record,”and with that she left.
Dropping the fake smirk on your face ,you closed your locker and headed to class with one thought in mind. You had to find him and make him pay .
Cheer practice had finished early and the whole day you didn’t bump into Eddie. At lunch you looked at his table and he was the only one missing. What was happening to you!?
Now you were fully convinced that Jason was right .Usually you wouldn’t give the time of day looking for any loser but you’re becoming frustrated when you didn’t even catch a glimpse of him.
Everyone headed towards their cars and said their goodbyes ,but you headed inside the school where most clubs were still going on .One of those clubs was of course,Hellfire.
The closer you got to the drama class, the louder you could hear the shouts of many. You couldn’t help but feel excited when you heard the voice of Eddie.
Looking down at your watch, their was still 45 minutes remaining for all clubs to end .So you decided you were going to wait until you got the perfect chance to confront Eddie for what kind of satanic spell he put you under.
After 15 minutes passed you heard him say ,“Let’s take a little break sheep,I’ll give you a bit of mercy while I’m gone.”
Hiding behind a corner, you peaked as you heard the door open and saw him heading towards the restroom. You waited for him to do his business, and see if no one would come around and disturb your moment.
You waited a couple more minutes and once the was coast clear, you headed towards the restroom with full determination of confronting Eddie .Slamming the door open, you looked at his startled face and walked closer to him . The more closer you got ,the more you forgot about what you had originally planned to do.
Instead of starting to shout a him , you don’t know what came over you and instead pulled him down by his collar and kissed him. You finally felt satisfied of having his lips back on yours and decided to wrap your arms around the back of his neck.
Eddie didn’t pull away but rather sat you up on one of the sinks and got between your legs to pull you closer .You couldn’t help but let little moans out as he slid his hand from your chest to your thigh .Inching near the place you desired him the most.
When you both pulled apart to breath ,you didn’t let him pull away any further this time, and dragged his lips back on yours. Both of your heads were clouded by lust and you made the bold choice to guide his hand on your sweet spot .
Eddie pulled you closer to him as he started to suck on your neck leaving his marks .At this point, you didn’t care what he did ,you just wanted more of him .The thought of what others would say flew away from your mind.
Everything came to an abrupt stop when you heard a banging on the door . “Eddie hurry up! We want to continue the campaign!”
He stoped kissing you and you couldn’t help but silently whine ,”Don’t go.”
“Sorry sweetheart, but I have some matters to attend.” he said in a playful tone but secretly wanted to continue what you were doing.
“How about this sweetheart? You can wait for me and we can continue at my home.”Eddie said .You could only nod ,being out of breath from the intense pleasure.
As he was going to turn away ,he pulled you close and whispered near your ear ,” I can’t wait to explore every part of you and make you beg,” and like that he left.
You stayed their for a couple seconds and finally decided to turn and face the mirror .Lips swollen , your neck scattered with hickeys and pupils blown with desire.
Fixing yourself as best as you could ,you left the restroom, heading towards Eddie’s van with a rush coursing through you veins.
You couldn’t wait for him to come.

are you researching about pinochet's dictatorship in general, or a specific topic? It makes me sad but I'm thinking about also researching about it
Hi anon! I'm doing my thesis on Retablo de Yumbel, a play by Isidora Aguirre that talks about the Laja Massacre on 1973 under Pinochet's dictatorship. Sadly most of my sources are in Spanish, but the Rememberance and Human Rights Museum in Chile has an english page with first hand testimony and research on the topic from the 60s to present time.
If you want sources as in books, I can recommend Gabriel Salazar's books on the more historical side. But I am a literature major, and the topics that I have a special interest in are the remembrance and narratives around it, so my recommendations go more by that side
In books that are more "tellings" or fictions "Tengo miedo, Torero" (I'm afraid, my bullfighter) by Pedro Lemebel not only sheds light on the dictatorship by itself, but also on queer issues. Isabel Allende's "House of spirits" is absolutely translated and you *should* read her books. Nona Fernández's "La dimensión desconocida" (Unkown dimension) and "Space Invaders" are two of the more recognized modern books on the topic, which are fairly recent and are translated! So give them a read
If you want outright testimony "Tejas Verdes: diario de un campo de concentración en Chile" (Tejas Verdes: Diary of a concentration camp in Chile) by Hernán Valdés tells his own experience in the detention camp. Is the first testimony book about the time published in Chile and you'll find a lot of important stuff in there. Also books like "Amor, te sigo esperando" (My love, I still wait for you) is a new one about mothers and widows that are still looking for their loved ones who disappeared.
If you want theatre, Retablo de Yumbel is one of my favorite plays ever, but also "Los que van quedando en el camino" (The ones that were left behind on the road) also from Isidora Aguirre. Nona Fernández's "Liceo de Niñas" (Girl's High School), Ariel Dorfman's "La muerte y la doncella" (The death and the lady) (This one is noy only tranlsated but presented around the world. You can absolutely find a copy), and Marco Antonio de la Parra's "La puta madre" (Mother whore) are good reads, but I don't know if they're translated. Also I can recommend Juan Radrigán's work, and Jorge Díaz's.
If you want poetry, Raúl Zurita, Damiela Eltit, Nicanor Parra and Víctor Jara. I'm not much of a poetry guy, but I bet you can find a lot of their work translated.
If you look for art, the obligatory one is Miguel Lawner's "Venceremos!: Dos años en los campod de concentración de Chile" (We will win!: Two years in the concentration camps in Chile) which I know for a fact is translated to at least english and portuguese; those are the drawings that represent different scenes on Dawson Island and other camps were Lawner was. You can also look at the Rememberance and Human Rights museum in Chile with a pretty complete collection of art, both in the recognized art world and clandestine and domestic world.
If you're looking for movies, I think "NO" by Pablo Larraín is a very good watch that talks about the end of the dictatorship. Also "1976" by Manuella Martelli. Honorary mention to "Bear Story" by Gabriel Osorio for being a short film with no dialogue that also tackles the topic.
Also shot out to the series "Los 80" (The 80s), which is a chilean soap opera about a middle class family living through the dictatorship and everything that ensues. It's on Amazon Prime, tho I don't know if it's translated.
If you're looking for documentaries, I think "Colonia dignidad: Una secta alemana en el sur de Chile" (Dignidad Colony: A german cult in the south of Chile) is a very good watch. It's on Netflix and completely in english. Also "ReMastered: Massacre in the National Stadium", also on Netflix, talks about the murder of Víctor Jara (Tho there's new developments on the case). But the ultimate ones are everything that Patricio Guzmán ever did. "La Batalla de Chile" (Chile's battle) a series of 3 documentaries that tell the story of the country between 1972 and 1973 on the historical front. In the remembrance front he has "El botón de nácar" (The nacre button) about Villa Grimaldi and the Death Flights and "Nostalgia for the Light" about the Atacama desert, the concentration camp there and other searchings that were done there.
I hope this helps a bit to start. Sorry if I went a little bit overboard, and I do wish you the best researching the topic. These are all off the top of my head so I definitely forgot some important ones lol
