when rin had been told the team was doing pr today, he thought that meant a quick interview, or maybe a photoshoot.
never in a million years would he have imagined this.
“how many more classes are there?” nagi yawns, plopping down onto a wobbly bench. “we’ve seen like eighty—”
“we’ve only seen three classes,” isagi informs them. “and i think we only have one more before we can go home.”
“finally,” rin sighs.
it’s turns out that “pr” for the day was to split the team off and send them to schools across the district. they spoke to the students who had gym that day, talked about what it was like to be an athlete, the importance of staying healthy, what it was like to go to the olympics.
it certainly wasn’t the most difficult pr task he’d been faced with during his time on the national team, but he had to admit that kids could be exhausting. with their absurd abundance of energy and never-ending cache of questions.
it’s then that the doors to the gymnasium open, prompting the three of them to stand. his two teammates greet the kids, who are practically bouncing with excitement.
but rin…his attention is drawn to you.
“hi, thank you so much for coming,” you grin, holding a hand out for him to shake. the touch lingers longer than it should, but neither of you say anything. “wow— um— i just can’t believe you’re actually here. i’m a bit of a fan…”
you’re a fan of him?
before he can open his mouth, your gaze snaps back to your students, who have swarmed his teammates.
“settle down, please,” you instruct them, managing to calm your class of 5 year olds with ease. “i know you’re all excited, but let’s give them the chance to talk and introduce themselves.”
after briefly introducing themselves, nagi and rin are comfortable letting isagi take the lead. rin, having heard his inspirational speech too many times today, lets his gaze drift over to you.
you’re smiling, listening intently along with your students. as if sensing his stare, you avert your gaze and send a small wave in his direction. his heart is a butterfly beat in his chest. maybe after this he could—
“why are you staring at our teacher?” a young boy wearing a team japan jersey asks. (rin spots his last name is on it, but the number is sae’s.
of course.)
he clears his throat, face suddenly burning with embarrassment as he wonders how much force it would take to put his head through the wall. “i wasn’t staring.”
“yes you were!” the same kid insists, and rin very briefly considers fist fighting a five year old.
“you kind of were,” nagi chimes in.
“do you have a crush on our teacher?” another student asks.
you hide what rin is sure is a smile behind your hand as he feels his palms begin to sweat.
“i— i wasn’t—”
isagi saves his ass, pulling out a signed soccer ball. “who wants to play soccer?!”
_____
“i’m sorry if they embarrassed you,” you apologize later, once the period is over. rin had managed to sneak away while nagi and isagi are signing notebooks, joining you near the entrance. “five year olds don’t have filters. i’ve learned that the hard way too.”
“it’s fine,” he waves off, noting your posture laxes in relief. “but…i kind of was.”
“what?” you ask. “staring?”
“yeah,” he admits, suddenly bashful. “i couldn’t help it. you’re…beautiful.”
“careful,” you laugh, gazing up at him. “if you keep saying stuff like that, i’m going to have to request you visit more often.”
“what if i visited tomorrow?” he blurts, because apparently grown men don’t have filters either. “to take you out for lunch?”

osamu doesn't tell atsumu when you start having contractions.
it's 10:30 in the morning and the day is well underway, but it's 4:30 AM in Paris, and the olympic opening ceremonies are set to begin in a little more than half a day's time.
so, even though osamu has never felt like he needs his twin more, he says nothing--and instructs the rest of his friends and family to do the same.
because he knows. knows that no matter how many arguments (from petty squabbles and silent treatments to all-out brawls) the two of them may have gotten into in the past three decades, his brother would drop everything--forsake the red jersey he wears, the gold that he hopes to bring back with him to japan--and come home to him. to you. to his family.
osamu paces around the hospital by himself for a while. you've been in labour for what feels like an eternity, with no significant changes, and it's only given osamu's anxiety time to swell. only allowed the pressure to build in his chest like a storm that threatens to sink him. so when you finally manage to close your eyes and get some rest after more than 12 hours at the hospital, he slips out from the room and takes a walk to compose himself.
he doesn't feel ready, doesn't feel qualified for such a massive responsibility. he's been so happy, so excited up until this point, but now that it's finally here and happening and real he's terrified.
he wishes atsumu was with him.
no, his brother is never someone you'd want to have in a crisis--too dramatic, too rowdy, too loud. he's, objectively, probably the last person you'd want around in the midst of any sort of pandemonium.
and osamu has never wanted to see his stupid face more.
he knows that if atsumu was just here he would somehow feel better. less frightened. more sure.
he crouches down in the middle of the waiting room he's wandered into on his aimless excursion, his hands tangled in his messy, greasy hair that's been trapped under an old Onigiri Miya hat all day, and fights to calm himself.
it's after 3 am, and whatever corner of the hospital osamu had journeyed into is mostly abandoned save for the occasional rattling of a cart passing through the hallway or staff bustling past. it's a tiny room, with uncomfortable chairs and the drone of a television that rests mounted on the wall in the corner.
he glances up just in time to see the japanese olympic team making their entrance to the opening ceremonies.
he spots his brother there almost immediately in the sea of red and white athletic wear. it's just a glimpse. a fleck of peroxide blonde amongst crowd of athletes. the nation's best.
atsumu must know what it feels like to carry responsibility on his shoulders, osamu thinks then, knowing that the flag of their country is literally on his back. atsumu must understand the burden of taking on a role that sometimes feels too large to bear, but that he devotes himself to earnestly.
osamu watches the television screen as tears well in his eyes, and he feels overwhelmingly proud. proud to be atsumu's brother. inspired by him in ways he'll never tell him (unless one of them is about to bite it--in which case he might make an exception). grateful to have had him by his side for his entire life.
it's a privilege to miss atsumu in this moment--spoiled by having had him there with him for every other important moment and milestone--and it's an honour to be his twin.
and osamu smiles, watery though it may be, while he watches his brother join the rest of the olympians representing their country half-way across the world.
he stands and makes his way back to you with a newfound surety.
the next few hours will be hell. the coming days too, though the hardest-fought battle will be over. but he'll have you. and the baby.
and he can't wait to tell atsumu all about it.

I miss iwaoi so much like if someone asked why the heckie do I love this ship so much I don't think I can answer it but just LOOK at them. they've canonically been together ever since the two were toddlers, grew up and went to the same middle school and by then iwaizumi was already the go-to oikawa expert, her knew his fake smiles from real ones, knew when he was gonna lose his cool and just hit kageyama (my poor son) but he also knew Oikawa would regret that and it wasn't the real him. they're in highschool and before anything even happens , iwaizumi knows what's oikawa's thought process, calls him shittykawa but. Also CANONICALLY calls him pretty boy all the time and oikawa blushes. he's probably got that compliment so many times and every time iwaizumi uses it he's probably insulting him or trying to tease him. but. Oikawa still. Blushes from it (haikyuu chapter and haikyuu BU) then when they lose the match with karasuno it's iwaizumi who walks home with oikawa and he knows oikawa is thinking. he'll never be truly happy and iwaizumi knows
But oikawa is also. Leaving for Argentina and iwaizumi is leaving for California (btw the recent magazine interview extra thing furudate did has iwaizumi admitting he wasn't gonna. Fall behind oikawa. So iwaizumi deciding to study abroad was also influenced by him) iwaizumi knows he's gotta get rid of oikawa's doubts right then and there. so he does. he calls oikawa the absolute best setter. iwaizumi is literally biased oikawa is the best setter. even during the early episodes where oikawa says kageyama is better than him it pissed iwaizumi of. and even after YEARS iwaizumi says in the interview that oikawa is the best setter ever. he will never move from that claim.
Now talking about them on court. “physically and mentally linked” and to have kageyama tobio of all people point that out. kageyama who's always only focused on everything volleyball related. and shoyo related. he really exposed iwaoi in front of the whole court saying. Whenever in doubt oikawa San will always end up setting to iwaizumi San. what an insane ass dynamic to havE. Iwaoi are also. Canonically telepathic they're literally reading each other's minds . iwaizumi thinking to himself “i gotta use that line some day, as long as I'm here blah blah” and oikawa responding with JUST WHEN WILL U USE THAT? he reads iwas mind. that one haikyuu bu chapter where oikawa loses his voice and iwaizumi becomes his interpreter. literally reads his mind and tells what's up. and that other bu chapter where iwaizumi asks oikawa to bark so he barks. iwaoi being 12 hours apart (in Japan and Argentina) and iwaizumi going to an onsen and ice hockey. Place in that one seijoh after graduation extra with matsuhana and. Looking gloomily out of the window. hanamaki asking him “is it him? when you look like that it's always about him” meaning iwaizumi misses oikawa so often and sulks so obviously he has a very apparent I miss oikawa face. and matsuhana know it and always ask him about it. iwaizumi responding with a “i just wish he was here too” and then immediately getting a text from oikawa asking him what he's up to. it's 6 am for oikawa he's probably just woken up and he texts iwaizumi. and then immediately responds to iwaizumi when he types his response. oikawa takes time off his day to chat with iwaizumi. I'm not even making it up. and seijoh have regular calls. Where they. Play drinking games (2020 interview) iwaoi probably call each other almost every day. and when they meet at the Olympics again they challenge each other. iwaizumi isn't even playing on the team but they're challenging each other
Moving on from the on page interactions there's also their birthdays being 41 days apart, 4 and 1 being their jersey numbers. Oikawa's birthday being Alexander the greats birthday and iwaizumi being born on alexanders death day. does this mean oikawa starts and ends with iwaizumi? in the court oikawa is often compared to Alexander the Great King and Alexander was very much in love with his right hand man Hephaeston. So much so that he died from grief soon after Hephaeston died. If Oikawa represents Alexander and iwaizumi, as his most trusted represents Hephaeston then they're literally modelled after historic. Lovers. also Alexander looked up to Achilles a lot and we all know about Achilles and Patroclus
Even the names? Oikawa's name means to go through and reaching the river. Hajime iwaizumi means one and spring or fountain. together their names mean dauntless. bravery, pride, mutual trust. that's their strength. and every time oikawa needed to make an epiphany, iwaizumi was there. “a team of better 6 is stronger” that's when oikawa started dividing attention to bringing out everyone's best, not just his own. also iwaizumi becoming an athletic trainer... basically a nurse for team Japan. like. Taking care of injuries, diets and overall health. where do you think he'd already done that? he was used to taking care of Oikawa all his life. I'm not even trying to clutch at straws.. these things are canon. now idk how much of this furudate actually intended. but to have these two boys who have literally. been there. for every stage of their lives. how can I not believe they share a unique and complete love. I genuinely cannot picture oikawa with anyone else because no one will understand him and accept him and mold him the way iwaizumi has and will continue to. also the only relationship oikawa has even been with canonically was some time in middle school and the girl dumped him in like a month or something because he's always obsessed with volleyball. Say what you will but iwaoi is so well done, so nicely structured, the trust and the understanding has such good foundation. Also iwaizumi is canonically as annoying as oikawa. he's just better at hiding it and because he tells oikawa off, people think he's not. but he matches oikawa's energy 100% I think about these two a lot and they really make me hurt and go insane in a way no ship ever has. there's wangxian who are canon gay husbands but iwaoi is so overly connected.... no part of their life can be complete without mentioning the other. and them living in different countries but still managing schedules and staying in touch, them being just fine on their own, but together shining strong and bright. well anyways there's a reason my blog is named after them lmao. they're very special to me. I will write fics on them soon as I get time coz my iwaoi hyperfixation is back full smack force and needs to be dealt with.

Mick Schumacher On Fashion, Le Mans and Fronting Tommy Hilfiger's New Campaign
Tumblr media
It's a big year for sports, as the Paris Olympics near, tennis champs prep for Wimbledon, and the Euros inch closer. In the midst of it all Tommy Hilfiger is getting in on the action with the release of an International Games collection. Refashioning timeless icons for the new generation, the collection is a modern interpretation of the brand's 1996 capsule collection released to celebrate the Olympics arriving in Atlanta, reworking track-ready styles including archival varsity jackets, rugby jerseys and basketball vests in Tommy's signature red, white and blue. Speaking on the new collection, Hilfiger says: "The sporting calendar sets the cultural pulse for the year, and 2024's shaping up to be amazing. We're building on our legacy of working with pioneers in sport and reimagining timeless American icons through an archival lens." To front the campaign, the US house has turned to the global sporting stage to curate a team of athletes who embody the brand's spirit, including All-Pro NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, college basketball guard Deja Kelly, star of the all-Japan skateboarding association Aori Nishimura, and Formula 1 driver and current member of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, Mick Schumacher. Ahead of the collection drop, in the conversation below we speak to Schumacher about his first memories of Tommy Hilfiger, his personal style, and prepping for Le Mans.
Ella Joyce: "What was it like working with Tommy Hilfiger? Do you have personal memories of the brand?" Mick: "It was great! Not only is it exciting to wear Tommy and to have attended the NYFW show with all the exceptional details, but to be a part of the campaign and the bigger brand story is just incredible. A personal memory for me is when the brand worked with Ferrari back in the day, before their current partnership with the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team. My dad used to bring back so much kit and, honestly, I was just running around as the best-dressed kid in school!" EJ: "How does the campaign resonate with you?" Mick: "I really believe Tommy was able to create something that brings both sport and style to the table. I'm sporty, I love to do my workouts and be active outdoors, and to be able to do that fashionably is so important. I was so happy to be part of this campaign with other athletes, too. It was amazing to get to know them better and see how their sport and personalities impact their individual styles." EJ: "Off the track, how would you describe your personal style?" Mick: "I think the best word would be 'changeable.' I love to experiment and try new things with my style. I think you can see this across my social media, but I would probably look different if you saw me on the street two days in a row. From a classic look to a more casual or baggy streetwear look, I love the creativity that comes with personal style. It's so fun."
Tumblr media
EJ: "You're currently competing in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. How's it going? What's coming up next for you?" Mick: "Yes, we just had our first race in Qatar, a ten-hour race! It was the first time I had to be on for that amount of time while learning and experiencing that type of race, but it was an interesting run. We learned a lot as a team. One of the cars even scored points, so it proves that we're on pace and the project is moving in the right direction, especially as everyone is gearing up for Le Mans." EJ: "Do you have any pre-race rituals?" Mick: "I don't, actually. It depends on how I'm feeling in the moment. If I'm nervous or stressed, or whatever it is, I'll always try to adapt to what's happening. Maybe one day I'm nervous so I have to work on calming down, and another day I'm too calm so I have to pump myself up. It all depends on the day."
Tumblr media
EJ: "You're photographed alongside a host of other athletes for the campaign. How do you think your generation of athletes compares to generations which have come before?" Mick: "I think we are really different to athletes from the previous generation. Of course, social media and phones have made an impact, but it's also because we're so precise about what we're doing. We have strict training and a solid laid-out plan in front of us on how to achieve our desired results. We have so much research and information which leads our way, while back in the day it was more experimental." EJ: "America and collegiate heritage heavily inspire Tommy Hilfiger. Is there a specific place which inspires you?" Mick: "The racetrack. I've always been a part of it, from doing laps in a car to just being on the track. In terms of style, I've always been interested in fashion, most likely inspired by my dad at a young age; however, my girlfriend is heavily involved in the fashion world, so it's helpful when I need to know what looks good and what doesn't. Inspiration is all around, so it depends on where I look!"

56 and any Yamo pairing! 🫶
i just wheezed so hard when i saw what the song was i almost snorted coffee out of my nose i am so sorry for this one
#56 - kyoto phoebe bridgers + yamo
the story of how this song ended up on my wrapped is too long so it’s going in the tags but. let me set the scene for you.
2026 NHL GLOBAL SERIES™️ JAPAN - Presented by YPPI
November 13 & 14, 2026: Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Seattle Kraken, Vancouver Canucks
Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan
It’s a pitiful excuse of a consolation prize for not being able to go to the Olympics, but Kailer’s not going to look a vacation horse in the mouth. The arena’s cool. It’s huge. The people are cool. There’s so many more of them than he thought there’d be with jerseys that have his name on the back, and a lot more that have the familiar orange and blue. He takes a picture of the fifth Oilers Yamamoto jersey he signs—this one’s the good Reverse Retro—and texts it to Connor, says,
no one here has even heard of mcjesus
and gets a moon face emoji in response. Leon’s influence. Kailer’s still never really deciphered what that one means, and he doesn’t think Connor knows either.
They don’t have a lot of time off between games, but Kailer’s trying to be a good tourist. His dad had been so happy when Kailer had told him about the series that Kailer’d had to stop him from trying to book a flight a year in advance, and his mom’s been just as bad, sending him every article she sees about Best New Spot in Tokyo! Cool Restaurant! Have You Seen This Japanese Cat Café? that she scrolls across on Facebook since June. Suzy’s in the same boat, so they’ve been crossing off their compiled travel-guide list together, looping in as many guys as they can. Everyone’s been pretty game. All the teams are crammed into close quarters at the same hotel, which means everyone wants to spend as much time as possible outside of it, and it helps that Kailer’s gotten pretty close with all the other guys that the NHL picked up as Global Series figureheads. Robo’s memes? Absolutely fire. The groupchat loves them.
For every item he crosses off the list, Kailer takes a picture and keeps it tucked in his phone notes. It’s like speed-running a scavenger hunt—they’re only here for four days—but he’s doing a pretty good job. His favorite so far has been all the gardens. They’re stunning, trees shining bright red and yellow, and every vendor has been selling maple candies, maple cakes, and even fried maple, though the official maple festival doesn’t start until next week. The second garden he visits, he does it on his own after practice, buying two cakes from a cart near the gate and walking until he loses the bustle outside. It’s easy to get lost in the winding pathways, heading deeper into the quiet, and there’s dozens of benches underneath the burnished leaves where young couples are tucked away on dates, or old friends are laughing and catching up. In some of the little clearings, there’s small shrines where people leave offerings, a prayer for good luck or good fortune.
Kailer stops at one without any people and sets the second maple cake on top of it, then sits and scrolls through all the texts that he’s missed. His mom gets replied to with a picture of him outside the garden gate, grinning and surrounded by other travelers. He sends his brother a picture of a trashy graphic I Love Japan t-shirt with the threat that he’ll buy one for him, and Kailer’s dad gets a picture of the meticulously arranged and cut bonsai that are across from the bench where he’s sitting. The Seattle groupchat gets a recycled meme from Robo, and he gets two thumbs up and an “LMAO” before he can even exit the thread. Finally, Kailer takes a picture of the half-eaten maple cake in his hand, holding it next to a fallen maple leaf on the bench, and gets halfway through typing another message before he thinks better of it.
(On the plane over, Drieds was reading them a story about how when they first introduced the high-speed railway, people were afraid to use it because they thought it would be too fast for their souls to keep up.
“Bro, if that were true, you just left your soul in the middle of the Pacific,” Ebs had laughed. “Planes are faster than trains.”
“Are they?” Matty asked. “Isn’t the train in Japan the fastest in the world?”
Drieds couldn’t make it through the rest of the story over the sound of everyone ripping Matty to shreds, so Kailer didn’t get to ask whether or not they found out anything about planes. Kailer’s not worried about his soul, but the logic makes a strange kind of sense; after all, he traveled 429 miles in five and a half hours once, and that was a little too fast for his heart to keep up.)
Fuck it. Kailer’s been trying to write a response for the past ten days, and he’s sick of swiping in and out of the message, staring at the keyboard so long he starts to see swirls in his vision.
Kailer drafts the text again and sends it, no context, no caption. A text travels faster than a high-speed train or a jet. Maybe it’ll pick his heart back up on the way.
#I don’t know how this song ended up on my Spotify wrapped because phoebe bridgers is too emotionally damaging for me to listen to like.#at all unless i am In It HOWEVER. there is this one silly video that brings me so much joy and made me feel semi-reasonable about listening#to kyoto & it’s the one video of the two painter guys painting the room & the lil guy is being a menace & the other guy just looks at him s#fondly & so lovingly & is that not the thesis of kailer yamamoto. be small be a menace be beloved by everyone. ANYWAY#liv in the replies#look this was going to be such a different thing and then. my brain went HEY BUDDY GUESS THE FUCK WHAT kyoto is a city in Japan.#day off in kyoto. guess who’s Japanese. guess what the nhl loves to do as HIFE publicity. also growing the AAPI audience is HUGE and i thin#they should. like originally i had NO idea what this was going to be (i’m so lying. the line ‘i’m gonna kill you’ but incredibly fond a la#the two painters video kept replaying in my head and i was like l m a o. klimmer & kailer. no plot all vibes it’s klimmer & Kailer that’s i#there is no real plot there is no actual idea the amount of googling that i did to write just this is UNREASONABLE i would love to be norma#about anything ever but i ALSO invented so much backstory to this that has no way of appearing in the actual fic and also jokes for ME#for instance. YPPI is the american manufacturer for yamaha motorcycles and. suzuki. yamamoto. (it’s not my brainworms it’s due to a fancam)#respectfully also i cannot write this fic. i have never been to japan and i think it would take me eight years to google enough#to be relatively comfortable like y’all have never seen the extensive research i put in to fucking phiLLY and a whole other COUNTRY???#where the premise of the fic is learning how to be a tourist in your life and sometimes you have to grow out of things?#yeah i AM going to make something with the idea of Momijigari and life is ephemeral. is that a plot? no it’s vibes.#kailer goes to japan in the fall and realizes he’s a liar. who lies. (he misses [redacted]) (the redacted is because i haven’t decided)#also also. the garden reference is because a) i spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON GOOGLE and found out things to do in saitama and also that#kailer’s grandpa had a meticulous garden and i just think that’s neat#hiding-from-reality-56#random ficlet is unbeta’d un-anything’d i don’t know WHERE this came from or the real plot of it at all. ok thanks byeeeee

things volleyball fans in haikyuu canon would lose their goddamn minds over, an incomplete list:
when youtuber, progamer, and known non-athlete kenma kozume gets tickets to the olympic volleyball games, and is on first name basis with almost every player on the japanese team ("wait is that THE kodzuken? why is he HERE? does he even know the game rules???")
when a documentary about chocolatiers comes out and it features wakatoshi ushijima ("i put on this for background noise and.... WHY IS THE CHOCOLATE GUY BESTIES WITH JAPAN'S CANNON.")
when little known comedian shouhei fukunaga starts casually telling a joke about how internationally ranked libero morisuke yaku used to work cologne model lev haiba to death trying to get him good at volleyball. a video of him telling the story goes viral and gets him a netflix special, in which he tells plenty of stories about said internationally ranked libero ("oh my god he always seemed to put together but he's literally just some guy")
when hinata and kageyama wear #10 and #9 to the olympics ("guys according to this research, those are their high school jerseys" "i'm gonna fucking kill them")
when japanese international tooru oikawa becomes an argentinian citizen and then plays as starting setter for argentina at the olympics ("suddenly rooting for argentina just bc of the POETRY of it all" "traitor" "look. it's just. i. what are sports for. if not for this kind of drama. i'm basically legally required to root for him.")
when 19yo tobio kageyama jumps onto the world stage on the national team absolutely unknown, only to absolutely decimate other teams via service aces ("NO ONE is doing it like him!!!")
when ali roma and asas são paulo play each other, and national teammates shoyo hinata and tobio kageyama take it personally ("y'all..... are seeing this, right.")
when the all-star match happens and atsumu miya and tooru oikawa are on the same team ("tetsurou kuroo i would die for you thank you for making all my dreams come true")
when the interview between udai, bokuto, and akaashi is released and they see bokuaka together and being Just. Like That. ("uh it's kind of a crack ship but i'm gonna start a new ship channel in the discord ok guys" "stop abusing your power as mod" "they're in LOVE")

Elle! Hello! I saw you have drabble requests open for a short bit and I was wondering if you could write a little something for Kuroo? Or Bokuto? Or maybe both of them together...idk. I don't really have a coherent thought or idea, but just thought I'd ask to see if you coukd do a small drabble. If not, that's alright!
Anyway...I hope you have a great weekend! 💙
HI MY DEAR!!!
I absolutely love their dynamic so of course I’ll write ya something!!
BoKuroo x reader
Contains spoilers from the newest Haikyuu chapter!!

It was hard keeping secrets from Bokuto.
The two of you oh so badly wanted to tell him Kuroo’s big plan and why he has been doing extra traveling since the Olympics ended. You did accompany him on one of his excursions but that was mostly to see the country that had stolen the heart of your favorite ball of sunshine. Of course the two of you mentioned having business there and promised Bo you would say hi to Hinata for him. And the way he pouted when he complained about missing his protege almost made you spill the beans.
Almost.
The day of convergence was getting closer and Kuroo was so so close to surprising not just his excitable boyfriend, but the rest of Japan by showing off the monster generation. After he saw the Olympics he was inspired and so were you. Every now and then when you would be on your laptop while Kuroo was away, Bokuto would come up to you being nosy as ever. “What are you working on? And why can’t I know about it?”
Every time you wanted to cave in and tell him the news but you knew you had to wait. Kuroo was going to attend a MSBY practice and announce the players and the plan there, just like he’s done with the others. But he wanted to save talking to MSBY last. He heard the whines of his lover missing playing with his other friends and thus the plan was truly put into action. The excitement on your hard working boyfriends face was everything you needed to see to know that he was doing what he loved and that made you love him, and Bo, even more.
A few days later saw you accompanying Bokuto to practice as you knew Kuroo would be there later. Bo was adorable with his “you never come to practice but I’m so happy you’re here!” He sloppily kisses your cheek before you find a space in the stands to watch and read a book. A couple hours later the coach calls them for a quick meeting. You quickly shut your laptop with glee and quietly move closer to hear the conversation. In comes your taller lover in a suit you’re sure you wanna rip off of him as he starts talking to the team. Owl like eyes widen to saucer size with a smile to match when Kuroo stops speaking. He jumps up and down with glee as he shakes and hugs Atsumu and Sakusa.
“Are you serious!? I can play with or against Hinata again?!? How’d you do that?? Never mind!! How soon is this happening? I’ve gotta tell Akaashi!”
The few men from MSBY who were chosen stay after and continue to speak with Kuroo. However, your eyes couldn’t stay away from Bo’s frame. You could tell he was trying his hardest to contain his excitement as he saw the design of the jerseys and how the teams were divided. You couldn’t wait to kiss him all over and as you turn to catch golden hues, you don’t miss how similar they are to yours. It was truly worth it to see this reaction from your lover.
When the meeting adjourns, Bokuto runs up to Kuroo and hugs him tightly with a spin and a nose kiss. “Is that why you were traveling? And why our baby owl was so secretive?” Kuroo nods and motions you toward them and enters the hug. Koutaro kisses your cheek again. “How could you keep this from me! You know I can keep secrets!”
The two of you pause and look at each other before responding at the same time:
“You told all of MSBY you made the Olympic team before I had set anything.”
“You told Kuroo I loved him before I could.”
Kou pouts and crosses his arms. “Those were one time!”
Tetsuro chuckles and wraps his arms around Bo’s waist. “It’s all good bro, that’s why we love you.”
He pecks his nose which earns him a slight grumble but the three of you laugh together in the middle of the court. Sure they were all a little crazy, but you preferred it this way. You and your volleyball loving dorks.

I'm so frickin tired but KARMALAND WATCH
Olympics timeeee
AWH….everyone's wearing different jerseys and Vegetta has Mexico :')))
Rubius just found out what Vegetta did to his place (cut down all his pretty Sakura trees and left a giant broken heart statue in his yard)
Rubius: Why is he mad at me? All I did was mess up his wedding and vandalize his house and ruin his life Rubius I hope Vegetta punts you into the SUN
OhoHOHO Luzu getting all agro and telling Rubius he deserves everything bad that happens to him because of what he did to Vegetta. Luzugetta my absolute beloved
Seriously though I love Luzu and Vegetta's friendship so frickin much
Rubius: Illojuan said Karmaland is ending in December, is that true??? Vegetta: I don't know what you're talking about! :) VEGETTA DONT PLAY WITH MY HEART LIKE THIS PLEASE
Everyone's like "lol today's a beach episode!" but I don't trust any of these guys
Vegetta: Karmaland ends in December but you know who won't be there? Illojuan VEGETTA DONT JOKE LIKE THIS
Quackity tweeting about wanting to go back to sleep. Frickin same
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ONLY SLEPT 3 HOURS
Dang dude even my sleep schedule isn't that frickin bad
He sounds EXHAUSTED poor baby
Everyone is so frickin handsome and pretty I weep
IS QUACKITY FRICKIN REPRESENTING SPAIN oh no that’s portugal nvm
Love that they're all Latin / Spanish speaking countries and then Rubius is frickin Japan
Tumblr media
AWWWWWWWWWW
Quackity running to Luzu's house and stealing food from his chests. Some traditions never change… 😭😭😭
Oh man all the boys had to drop their items for the event? OH BOY….
Rubius: If someone steals from the lockers on the World Cup, three years of jail! BTW you can strip and get changed in my house, I definitely don't have cameras around. 😏 What is wrong with him
WHY DOES QUACKITY STILL HAVE HIS GUN
oh man he didn't immediately attack Luzu I guess this will be a more chill event
Oh Luzu said "Tell Quackity not to bother me or I'll kill him" WELP. NEVERMIND I GUESS
VEGETTA SAYING NO MAMES…pftt
Rubius: I need to be beside Vegettita. Luzu: Yeah, right after cheating him out of his wedding. DANG
OH Quackity’s disguised as “Cristiano Ronaldo" ok.
Luzu: For everyone asking about Quackity, he's not coming! He's vetoed from here.
Oh so THATS how they're getting around it.
Sapo Peta: Whoever wins can have one wish! Whatever they wish for Uh Oh
Alexby told Rubius he has an attack on Luzu planned and Rubius wanted to make sure they only hurt Luzu and no one else. Wanna make sure Vegetta isn't caught in the crossfire huh?
The key words to detonating the mines will be "I am duck" lord …
Luzu: Vegetta, we have to win this for the good side. What wish would you ask for? Vegetta: Another castle, of course. VEGETTA….
Oh noooo I missed Ollie I'll have to pull up Luzu's stream later
Oh man there's gonna be a trial against Rubius today to rid him of his police chief position???
Heavy lore with light fun jokes
Tumblr media
LMFAO VEGETTA…TOO SOON
I want a clip of that
Rubius said be already knows what he wants to wish for but won't tell anyone…
How fricked up would it be if Rubius’s wish was "I wish Vegetta would never fall in love with another person. I want his heart to belong to me". That would be so cruel because you KNOW Rubius would still mess around, he just wants to make sure Vegetta remains free
Alexby: Why did you choose Japan the day they play against Spain? Rubius: Because I fricked up PFTTT
Me: aww Quackity is learning Portugese! Me, realizing what he's learning to say: oh 😒
Games start!
LUZU IMMEDIATELY FELL pfttt
Uh oh Luzu won the first game. What would he wish for, if he won?
Oh man someone said "Will Luzu wish to revive his kids or will he wish for Quackity's death?" Agh
Tumblr media
LALIN PFTTT
Alexby won the second game!
Oh my gosh third game is like glass floor from Squid games
Vegetta: I will take one for the team because Mexico always sacrifices for the team! VEGETTA….
Quackity died trying to follow the OTHERS LMFAO
They keep saying "Mexico is always brave" to make Vegetta keep jumping, MEAN
QUACKITY REALLY TOLD LUZU KYS, JEEZ
Rubius: For you, Vegetta, I will win this 🥺
Rubius kissed Vegetta before jumping 🥺🥺🥺
It's like the water jump all over again
THEY BOTH DIED LMFAOOO. Idiots in love....
Oh no Luzu's in the lead right now
Alexby: It doesn't matter, we knew you'd cheat in this just like in the elections DANG
Oh it's a tie between Rubius and Luzu?
QUACKITY…..
Rubius wishes for all Karmaland mods to be unblocked and Luzu agreed
Rubius: Since the price is a wish, we can both win and ask for the same wish. I suggest the wish is to unblock all mods on Karmaland. Luzu: I absolutely agree. I'd say no to literally anything else but I wanna see Vegetta's head explode.
THEYRE SUCH BASTARDS LMFAO
Alexby got second and Vegetta got third! I wonder what they would've wished for
Vegetta is trying to get out of this by saying everything is a dream LMAO
Oh no Quackity said they still need to kill Luzu
QUACKITY SHOT LUZU
VEGETTA KILLED RUBIUS???
NON-CANONICALLY IM ASSUMING?
Oh man Luzu and Vegetta are planning a trial
Luzu: I keep trying to do good things, but look how they turn out! The right way is the lonely way :( I mean, he’s definitely done fricked up things but I still feel bad for him
Luzu stepped on a mine on his way home and died and said "they killed me again" PFT
It's like that one meme of a dude galling off a bike and saying "this is [someone totally unrelated]'s fault"
Half the people are like "Ok but how DO you permakill someone on Karmaland" and the other half are like"Ok Quackity you killed Luzu, can you two make up now?"
Quackity: I knew you'd come protect me Rubius: If you call for help, I'll come to you l, always. I WEEP
Sapo Peta: Why did you shoot the mayor!!! Quackity: My finger slipped
Oh man Luzu told them to meet on Monday there's gonna be WAR
Is Quackity frickin jealous of Rubius talking to Vegetta???? KING….
They're going to the lie detector to see who stole Luzu's stuff
Luzu: Sapo Peta, do you have food? Quackity: The mayor asking for food, this town is in shambles. PFTTT SAYS THE GUY WHO WAS DIGGING THROUGH LUZU’S FOOD CHESTS
THEYRE PUTTING RUBIUS ON TRIAL
Quackity as Rubius' lawyer again as if we don't remember how this went last time
Quackity: I object! Luzu: I don't care PFTTTTT
Vegetta calling himself as a witness PFTT
Rubius said everything he's done has been out of love???
Rubius: Everything I've done has been out of love for Vegetta, Quackity, and Sapo Peta! RUBIUS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
Rubius: Out of love for everyone in the world except Luzu! BRUH
Vegetta removed his authority as a cop and Rubius immediately put him and Luzu in jail. RUBIUS….
Luzu: We'll finish this war with Quackity on Monday Quackity (still disguised): What will you do to Quackity? Luzu: I'll give him the choice to either stop everything he's doing, or leave Karmaland forever with or without his life intact. NOOOOOOO I DONT WANT QUACKITY TO LEAVE KARMALAND
NOT QUACKITY WITH THE AUTOTUNED BABY CRYING AGAIN
Luzu: Everything an end, and ours is very close. Even when I try to do good, they come for me. The people's wellness comes first but they only want chaos and destruction. So we'll give them that. 😭
Luzu: Monday will be tough, but that's the day it will all be over. Either me, or Quackity NOOOO NO LUZU PLEASE SAY PSYCH I DONT WANT EITHER OF YOU TO DIE PLEASE I DONT WANT THIS TO END
STOP THE AUTOTUNE I CANT STAND THIS
SAPO PETA PULLED OUT THE ROCKET LAUNCHER LMFAO
Gosh the only thing worse than the autotune is Quackity pronouncing things horribly on purpose that is killing me
NO VEGETTA CONFIRMED KARMALAND IS ENDING IN DECEMBER. NOOOOOO!!!! NOOOOO THATS THIS MONTH, PLEASE NO VEGETTA I BEG OF YOU
There was a 3 year gap between Karmaland 4 and Karmaland 5…..how the frick am I supposed to survive that
I will say I'm super bummed, but I'm more bummed seeing all the suicide jokes people see making :/ I don’t know why that seems to be a weirdly popular "joke" amongst a lot of Karmaland fans and I really REALLY hate it. It’s not funny, and it’s not a joke.
Sighs
Well as for as today's stream went, I was very sleep deprived, but it was a nice light hearted "beach episode" that then promised to break our hearts on Monday. I shall be anxiously awaiting to see what happens
A lot of my theories got debunked just because Vegetta confirmed Karmaland was ending this month, but here are a few other theories I still have:
One of them (either Quackity or Luzu) will be killed by the other, and Sapo Peta will gave up on their world because of it. But then, that person regrets killing the man they used to love, and they exchange their own life to bring them back. That wouldn't be my ideal ending but it feels plausible
Rubius kills Luzu like he and Quackity planned. Sapo Peta finds out Quackity is the reason Luzu died, and that's what finally makes him give up all hope for Karmaland and the gods destroy the world
Luzu and Quackity kill each other, and as they like dying side by side, they laugh and realize how stupid they’ve been, but at least they’re together in their final moments
Fargan and Alexby get married!!! [unlikely]
Rubius and Vegetta make amends and learn to communicate properly for once! [also unlikely]
Luzu and Quackity make up! [delusional]
I had a few other predictions, but now that I know they have to wrap up this month, the ending feels like it’s gonna be a lot bleaker. I’m still trying to be optimistic, but I’m starting to have doubts...

Tumblr media
2016 Olympic champion and three-time World champion Helen Maroulis (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) has officially accepted her 57 kg berth in Final X. She will battle for the 57kg spot on the 2023 U.S. World Team in women’s freestyle wrestling in Final X, presented by Tezos, on Saturday, June 10 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Final X will determine the 2023 U.S. Senior World Teams in all three Olympic disciplines: men’s and women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. There will be 30 weight classes contested, 10 in each Olympic discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight class will compete in a best-of-three series in Final X to determine who will wrestle at the 2023 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Maroulis made history at the 2016 Olympic Games, becoming the first U.S. woman to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling with her victory at 53 kg over three-time Olympic champion Saori Yoshida. She later became the first U.S. women’s wrestler to win two Olympic medals with her bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Maroulis has won three World gold medals (2015, 2017, 2021) and boasts six Senior World medals. Maroulis also won three Junior World medals. She was a four-time WCWA college national champion, winning three titles for Simon Fraser and one for Missouri Baptist.
It is the second straight year Final X will serve as the Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit. This year’s event will be the 13th BTSNY Annual Benefit. These unique and electrifying annual events help BTSNY raise more than $1 million each year to support local youth wrestling programs which empower young people in New York City. The BTSNY Annual Benefit after party will follow the conclusion of Final X.
Maroulis, a native of Rockville, Md., has a perfect 8-0 record in previous BTSNY events. She is the subject of a new movie, “Helen | Believe,” which follows her astonishing comeback to the sport after suffering a career-ending injury that forced her into retirement.
There are a variety of options for Final X wrestling-only event tickets, with prices starting at $40 on Ticketmaster.
Benefit tickets and sponsorship packages (wrestling event plus exclusive after-party celebration access) that also provide the best wrestling-event seats are available at give.btsny.org/beatthestreetsbenefit2023. For more information on ticket packages, email Katrin Pokalyukhin at [email protected].
The team selection procedures for the U.S. World Teams in each style allows for 2022 Senior World medalists to advance directly to Final X at a specified weight class. Maroulis has met this requirement and accepted her qualification.
The Final X opponent for Maroulis will be determined at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nev., April 26-30. The champion in women’s freestyle at 57 kg at the U.S. Open will qualify to face Maroulis in Final X.

OG and I went to Nagano to watch the Winter Olympics. OG wanted to drive the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo. I just wanted to eat some shinshu soba. We both got our wish. But you’ll never believe what happened next. 🏔️ The Moldovan bobsled team was at the table next to us the night before they were supposed to do their runs. But while OG and I ate local foods, the Moldovan team indulged in another Nagano specialty: sake. And they had a lot of it. In fact, at some point they were so full of sake they gave OG and me their green team jerseys and brown helmets. 🛷 The next day OG and I carried the equipment to return it to our new Moldovan friends. Except they were nowhere to be found. Just then, an Olympics official ran up to us and mistook us for the Moldovan Bobsled Team. OG smiled. And I knew we were in trouble. She pulled on the green sweater and brown helmet. And said some words in gibberish. (Then whispered for me not to worry — no one knows what Moldovan sounds like.). OG grabbed the sled. And another Adventure with OG was on. Of course, OG was the pilot. And I was a gentleman and only put my arms on her shoulders. I can’t run fast, so we didn’t get a good time. But we did get interviewed on Moldovan TV. Turns out even Moldovans don’t even understand Moldovan, so OG spoke in Romanian. And I spoke in Pig Latin. We were famous. For a minute. Until the real Moldovan team turned up with big headaches and asked for their equipment back. OG and I just sipped warm sake. And laughed. #adventureswithog @original.gitti (at Nagano Japan 長野日本) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn97WVaAfOn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Those who were and are in NPB, CPBL and KBO teams' active or reserve rosters, as well as those players in the collegiate and college summer ball leagues, MiLB and the indy league programs are also set to be featured in the future. Softball too will be written into the mix, given its shared origins with baseball, and its national team programs and college and amateur teams will be featured as promised in the start.)
DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA
DUKE UNIVERSITY
January 11, 2022
0815H EST
That January day, the Durham city garrison battalion, attached to the ROTC unit of Duke University and serves as operational reserve of the 78th BCT, stands at attention as the announcement from LTG Gaski, commanding officer of the 46th Mobilization Command, resounds from the university grounds for everyone to hear with TV cameras beaming the moment. They and the Chapel Hill battalions serve that role and are afffilated to the local universities.
Given the seriousness of intel reports and the troubling crisis growing in the Ukrainian border, the announcement of the return of active status of the brigade's 1st and 2nd battalions, as well as of the armored and artillery components, while the service support units of the brigade are already active since Christmas together with the combat engineer battalion, was a sure sign that there's something going on in the reserves. The reactivation of the brigade's cadre units into active service has the blessing of the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs, and thus he has informed them that the 46th Command is now preparing to mobilize all their units, given the current international situation. He said that he is "in talks with USec Manfred and retired COL Clarke so that the two divisions of the 169th Corps, the command's premier ready reserve unit, would transition to active service gradually in the coming weeks, given how much Russia has been preparing for a forthcoming possible operation to invade Ukraine from Belarus and from its borders within the first quarter of the year." The other components are being alerted as well to prepare for mobilization. These units, together with all the college ROTC and college service regiments and battalions that are part of the 46th are also being told to be ready to be mobilized gradually given the Ukrainian situation as of late and to prepare if the potential war in Ukraine would evolve into another world war.
The order for the mobilization of the 78th BCT was later read out by BG Maxwell, the 46th's adjutant general, in front of the assembled parade.
Then LTG Gaski offically introduced MG Scioscia, the command chief of staff, to introduce the first personnel now mobilized for active service in light of the Ukrainian border crisis. First up to be mobilized as of that day, two platoons of A Company personnel, the first to be put into active service, followed by a third and the HQ and heavy weapons platoons in the days ahead. With this news 1st Battalion is from today on mobilization duty given the reports on the Ukrainian situation. The first platoon, made up of the personnel deployed to Tokyo last year, is under company commander CPT Frazier, a Toms River native from New Jersey with 1LT Austin, a Georgia native already serving in Japan but now recalled back home in the States, as actual platoon commander. 1LT Jackson, a long time serviceman who was commissioned from the ranks in the past decade, serves as platoon XO, with SFC Fillia serving as platoon sergeant under 1SGT Gose, the company first sergeant. Filia, a veteran who served under secondment to the Dominican Army many times, is set to be promoted to master sergeant before their deployment. Alongside those who were forward deployed to Tokyo personnel assigned to US Forces Japan and are on secondment to Japan Ground Self-Defense Force divisions who returned home during the holidays are a part of the platoon as well, since a few actually travelled to Cary from their hometowns to report to the brigade command. It is not the case for those in Korea or Taiwan through given their focus in East Asia, however only just 3 had returned from the latter (on secondment with elements of the Republic of China Armed Forces) to join the brigade. One already had South Korean experience before. 2nd Platoon, made up of personnel of the 2019 mobilization contingent, is under platoon commander 1LT Bohm from the Philadelphia regiment's 2nd battalion. 1LT Adell from the Anaheim regiment is its second in command. The platoon's most senior NCO, newly promoted SFC Thelbar, is platoon sergeant of the unit. Overall, the company's adjutant was no less than 1LT Robertson, by now serving in Chicago, who is an OCS alumnus from the 2010s (many of the officers were either ROTC or West Point alumni and a few of them were like him alumni of the OCS program). He served in the Tokyo contingent the year before. Of those of the collegiate ROTC contingent that formed the domestic mobilization contingent last year, CPT Tulowitzki is among those present today for the ceremony as had been named company XO. They returned to Cary two days ago. They will form the third platoon of A Company, led by 1LT Crews and are here today for the activation, with 2LT Teel, platoon 2IC, and SFC Houck, platoon sergeant, also present there, while the first two are already there together with the heavy weapons teams armed with the M2 Browning and modern mortars. 4th Platoon is to made up of the personnel of the 2019 collegiate mobilization platoon, they too will be informed soon within the next week. 5th Platoon would be formed of the personnel of the 2017 mobilization contingent.
For B Company, it would be formed by the collegiate mobilization contingents from 2016 to 2018 and the high school mobilzation contingents from 2018 to 2019, as well as parts of the 2014-17 training contingents of high school cadets and those of other organizations below 15 years of age provided they turned 18 years old and up, which are suitable ages for beginning basic training in the Army proper. Also, parts of the 2019 and 2021 domestic pre-training mobilization companies also are a part of the unit.
In a move that would shock everyone, the lieutenant general relayed the approval of a request of the brigade's commanding officer for the 1st Battalion of the 78th Brigade to be fitted with an additional mobilization company, D Company, with the ROTC and college national contingents from 2013 to 2015 and the high school contingents from 2012 to 2015 as well as the domestic pre-training company from 2018, thus E Company became a 1st Battalion formation with the 2nd now having F, G, H and I companies with the heavy weapons company. 1st Battalion would now have 8 companies, the 2nd battalion 7. In addition, the 2016 and 2017 high schools national JROTC contingents would be added to B Company's ORBAT as two of its platoons. C Company, the all-female component, was to begin mobilization the week later as well and its personnel would be informed to be ready to be mobilized in Cary. Also, Major Jerry Weinstein, a long time officer promoted from the ranks via OCS, and had been promoted Lieutenant Colonel, chose to be transferred to the Army Reserve and to hand over the position of battalion executive officer to another veteran officer. The command staff approved it and MAJ Sogard was appointed to replace him while the veteran officer was reassigned to brigade staff.
Joining him on stage was COL Fisher, brigade J-3 and assistant deputy chief of staff of the 46th Command, and BG Hicks, J-5 of the 46th and assistant to the Cary garrison commander. Both of these experienced officers will be a part of the brigade's preparations for the forthcoming war facing them. MG Seller, part of the Tokyo contingent the year before as inspector general of the 46th, is also there, as well as CSM Wallace, who was also in Tokyo as the 46th's CSM and the senior NCO of the contingent there, as well as another of the female officers, COL Garza, who is operations chief of the 78th, and BG Randolph of the Army Reserve, part of the 2017 contingent as advisor.

Two more personnel, SPC Crowell and PFC Dunn, joined the lieutenant's contingent straight from their colleges' military service units. They will be provisionally under 3rd Platoon while preparing for the formation of a 6th rifle platoon given the worsening Ukrainian situation and the need to prepare NATO for any future action by Russia against Ukraine and later on the entire alliance and its member countries and armed forces. They were to be joined by SGT Ridings and PFCs Taylor, Hall and Waldrep. All are serving soldiers who study in their assigned universities for college degrees. SPC White had advised Colonel Bianco that these men be selected for the platoon about to be raised thru the letters given by some of the collegiate battalion commanders to Cary as well as emails sent by battalion senior NCOs on their individual abilities.
The men mentioned above as well as the 13 additional men under 1LT Jay (plus 7 temporary with the 2nd Platoon pending the raising of another which would raise the total of Able Company's platoons in which it is organized to 7 platoons, the HQ platoon, the 6 rifle platoons and the heavy weapons platoon) would be the first to be ready for the full mobilization of A Company's platoons, while the others are being informed to be in Cary in days. Now assembled in front of the formation made up of the reservists and active servicemen from the Duke University regiments (including its ROTC battalion), the men of the 1st two infantry platoons of A Company and the heavy weapons platoon were now set to hear the addresses of their commanding officers. BG Hopkins then spoke first to the men of the company regarding the task they would face as tpart of the potentially hundreds of thousands Americans to be deployed to Europe to support NATO operations and prepare to join the fight in the defense of Ukraine when that hour of war comes.
Their battalion commander, LTCOL Fenster, then spoke next, giving his gratitude for the reactivation of the battalion as an active formation, given that he has served even during the days that it was only a cadre battalion and in the years the battalion and the rest of the brigade were activated during domestic and global contingencies. A part of the Tokyo contingent as well he knew the risks awaiting the men of 1st Battalion and was determined, as its commanding officer, to help lead them to victory. Then he announced that B Company would have its new commanding officer, XO and adjutant, as well as first sergeant, report in person next week in Cary as the men of the concerned mobilization contingents are to be informed of their presence in the town in a fortnight so that activation process of the company as an active formation may begin as well as of its handover from cadre personnel who are National Guardsmen. Elements of the 2013 and 2015 national reserve mobilization contingents would join the company, he added, and he expects that calls will be made to the men of these contingents. One more thing: those who were part of the 2008 and 2009 national contingents would be recommended for mobilization, voluntarly, if needed for the European deployment to provide extra experience to the brigade. He also stated that if and when the war does start in Ukraine by the elements of the Russian Armed Forces and their wartime auxillaries, they will be ready, not just to help the Ukrainian people, but their fellow member armed forces of NATO countries in Europe, so that's why when the battalions are fully mobilized, with a 4th battalion ready to be activated out of National Guard personnel stationed in the state of North Carolina to join their ranks, they will be training hard to be prepared for the missions they will soon undertake. Regarding B Company's new command the battalion has revealed that their choice of officers have been a part of previous mobilization units the 78th had formed in the past: 1LT Frazier now assigned with the Seattle regiment, and 1LT Almora. They will soon announce the reactivated company's commanding officer, XO and adjutant in days as well as its first sergeant. He said further that this first lieutenant had served with captain Frazier in Pittsburgh last year.
LTG Gaski, the 46th Command's general officer commanding, in his keynote speech that morning spoke on why there needed to be mobilization of the reserve units of the Army and to begin the preparation of all active Army and Army National Guard formations country wide in support of their compatriots serving in Europe and potentially in East Asia, given how Russia is preparing to invade Ukraine in just months. He states in his address that these men would form the first vanguard of US armed support towards the Ukrainian Armed Forces and its paramilitary reserve organizations in the event of Russia beginning its invasion given that it is because of the US guarrantees for the defense and security of the Ukrainian people in the 1997 Budapest Memorandum which ended the country's nuclear weapons program while awaiting for any formal request by Kyiv to send in the regular forces and the Army National Guard brigades and divisions as well as other NATO ground and marine national formations. Given the circumstances of any possible invasion, the mobilization of the 46th Command's constitutent formations was badly needed, while the rest - 891st, 62nd and 169th - were on their training seasons and the 893rd had just began preparing for theirs, and their BCTs are starting to prepare for their units to be activated for active service and be mobilized just as they are already doing. He ended with his urge to the boys to become not just ambassadors of goodwill and peace to the peoples of Easterm Europe, but also to be ready to come to the aid of Ukraine and the peoples of all Europe at large and by extention, the free world should the Ukrainian invasion by Russia spill over into a larger world war. He wished them the best as they prepared for a long journey ahead of them.
Before the parade began, there was one final speech awaiting the assembled crowds. Apparently A Company's new commander in its reactivation as a active Army Reserve formation had recieved the duty in December when its former commander as a cadre formation of ready reservists handed over the company to him, who served as the actual platoon commander in Tokyo and Yokohama from July to August of the year before. For Captain Frazier, it was a huge task ahead for the company, under his leadership to prepare for the mission assigned to the brigade to be one of the first to be forward deployed to Eastern Europe given the circumstances of the ongoing border crisis between Ukraine and Russia, regardless of the political affilations of many who served in Tokyo with him. It was indeed daunting for him to assume the position of company commander after being the one leading his boys in Japan last summer. The captain in his mid-30s, hailing from Toms River in New Jersey, was ready for one more battle ahead this time in Eastern Europe with the men now under his command. With a profound voice, he spoke to the men of the company, the battalion command, and those gathered on the parade square and watching the proceedings unfold of the missions they are preparing to do, as they company's 1st three mobilized platoons were in formation to hear him speak.
"Men of Able Company, including those who were with me in Tokyo last year", Captain Frazier began his speech. "The facts are in our eyes now, given that the intelligence agencies here and abroad have stated that there is something going on in the Ukrainian borders with Russia and Belarus - Russian forces from the Western and Southern Military Districts, together with their comrades in arms from units in the Northern, Central and Eastern Military Districts, are being mobilized for a mission unprecedented in modern history - preparing for a historic invasion of Ukraine, with the goal of preventing its accession to NATO and the European Union and forcing its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, overthrowing the current government and replacing it with a pro-Moscow aligned government, securing the pro-Russian governments of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics and the future of Crimea as territory of Russia, and undoing the democratic reforms of these past few years. Men of Able! My fellow soldiers of America's army, my fellow brothers in arms, and those who were with me in Tokyo, my brothers who shared with me the toils and hardship for the nation we swore, the nation is preparing for us to respond to the call of our brothers and sisters in Europe, especially in the NATO countries that we've been partners for almost 76 years, to help in the collective effort in defending freedom and independence, and to be ready to led a helping hand in guaranteeing the defense and security of Ukraine against Russia and its allies, preparing for the worse to come if this forthcoming invasion turns into the one thing we are not ready but we've been preparing as a nation - yet another world war, like the past two that have come, where our ancestors and grandparents served this nation with honor and courage, even the cost of their lives. Now, the time has come to show the world what we've trained for these past months now has a purpose: the defense of our nation and the free world we belong. The nation needs us to be ready to sacrifice our lives, to honor the oaths we swore to its flag to continue our traditional duty as defenders not only of America, her people and Constitution, but of the free world at large, especially since the end of our commitments in Afghanistan RIGHT AFTER we ended our tour in Japan. I urge all of you, for because not just our nation and our freedoms are above all else but more than ever, our duty to defend the free peoples of the world, be ready to stand by and defend our nation and our people until death even in Ukrainian soil - even if it means losing our lives! We must not abandon the Ukrainian people, nor the people of our allies abroad." He was paraphasing the iconic Ukrainian song "March of the Ukrainian Nationalists", which had been adopted by the Second World War era Ukrainian Insurgent Army as its official anthem and by now had been repurposed as a patriotic anthem for the modern day Armed Forces of Ukraine in the past decade due to the ongoing conflict in the Donbass regions of Ukraine - Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts - which had pro-Russia governments after Euromaidan and whose armed forces have been assisted by the Russian Armed Forces and the National Guard all thru these years since the conflict began in the spring of 2014.
But not everyone knows today that these words mean not just that - what the captain stated was an eagerness for his boys to fight in Ukraine if and when that day comes of Russia invading the country, potentially with its CSTO allies and contigents of militias the country will be raising from African countries and Syria, side by side with the AFU, to ensure a real guarantee of helping in the defense of the nation and to help it finally transition to being a NATO member republic and a full member of the European Union, as stated in amendments to its Constitution recently passed by the Supreme Council, its national legislature and to stop any Russian attempt to threaten NATO at large, in the name of the United States and her armed forces and people as a whole together with their allies abroad. Even if these reservists and vets come together to fight for one greater cause for the sake of the millions in NATO countries in Europe and for the Ukrainian people and its future as a democratic republic they first and foremost who are Americans know they are fighting for the American people who expect them to do their best, for the country, the people, and for national independence against external aggression.
He continued by looking into the boys who served with him in Japan last year, knowing that it was a great honor to have been a part of the Tokyo contingent last year. Most of them now form 1st Platoon, together with 1LT Jay's group and the section of servicemen from East Asia led by 2LT Gagnon, with 1LT Thames assigned as part of company staff. 1SGT Gose, who served in Tokyo as part of the contingent, is the overall senior NCO of the company. He then spoke to them, led by its platoon leader 1LT Austin, and the company first sergeant as well, regarding the risks of the action they would be facing. They would be the vanguard of a potential NATO assistance force of Canadians and Americans, together with personnel from other national armed forces in Europe and reservists, to fight Russia and help Ukraine on its road towards progress as a pro-Western nation aligned with the values of NATO and the EU, which Russia cannot accept. He said to them: "In the coming days, you and the rest of the company, and soon the whole of the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 78th, will be preparing for a war like anyone has ever prepared before." They would be fighting those Russian conscripts and contracted servicemen from a variety of Army formations and the National Guard's regional commands, in support of their Ukrainian allies. While this command may be ready to pull off what has been a Napoleonic strategy implemented by Napoleon Bonaparte during the Italian campaigns of the French Revolutionary Wars of reservists forward deployed to fight against enemies of France, this would be an American pro-NATO mission first and foremost to contribute to the defense of Ukraine and indirectly ensure the security of NATO member nations and those under the EU. What they learned in Japan, he states, will be applied in the Ukrainian steppes as they brace for an enemy millions have been preparing to fight for decades, as well as in any city the Russian forces would be heading. These boys of the 1st Platoon, whom their company commander said were the best military soldiers he ever been with, will be the very men he will be ready to fight with for the cause of freedom.
He then spoke to 2LT Gagnon's section of lads from US Forces Japan who have trained with reservists of the JGSDF in some Japanese cities, as well as those stationed in Taiwan and South Korea. Even through they were not part of the Tokyo contingent these men proved to be better friends of the Japanese servicemen and ambassadors of the American people to the East Asian region. Now back in their homeland, he said that these men will finally prove their worth and apply the hard work and training lessons learned in their countries in the operations to come.
The captain then looked to the sight of the collegiate service personnel who served with them at home last year, led by 1LT Crews, who got promoted last year. They served with distinction at home while also serving their colleges. He said of his great privillege of be trained with these young lads who from the future of the nation. These college lads from Able Company's 3rd platoon. The 2nd platoon, led by 1LT Bohm, and was formed on the basis of the mobilization platoon assigned to 3rd Battalion 2 years past, was advised to be ready at all costs to join the effort to defend the nation's interests abroad. These lads, Captain Frazier said, would be ready to become a part of history in the operations they will do with the rest of the company. He then looked on the group of boys who were also with them last year, led by 1LT Jay, also an OCS grad from the ranks, as part of the domestic mobilization contingent who served with them. He knew how much the veteran lieutenant can do with these men under his command. Then he looked to the 6 lands now assigned to 3rd platoon who are provisionally there while waiting for the formation of another platoon given the circumstances. They serve under 1LT Crews' command. He said that these lads, the future of the armed forces, will be preparing for the hard task that awaited them. Above all else, he said, he expects that these Able Company boys, including those of Todd's boys in Tokyo from last year, will be ready to do their best for the nation they pledged to defend, while helping Ukraine fight the Russian menance before regular armed forces units will be sent to the country. They will be ready to die as a whole unit for the nation and for freedom, he continued, with the words "No matter what happens to us, there's one thing that will make the world know and our families know: given that our brigade been the reserve of the XVIII Airborne Corps for more than 4 decades, we will do our best to finish all our duties in Ukraine, help that nation win, and above all, win the fight towards the defense of America and her allies. It is not just these people who we're ready to defend, it is all our allies in Europe especially our NATO allies there. Is that clear to you all?"
"Sir yes sir" was the response of the Able boys.
"That will be our mission should that day comes, men," Captain Frazier concluded his speech. "That's the reason this brigade is now being mobilized, and we are just beginning the journey. We will not hesitate to fight these Russians, and their allies, till the last man, and show the world that we are Army Strong. HOOAH?"
A loud "Hooah" was heard from the grounds from the men of Able Company. They knew that they were prepared for that task that awaits them in Eastern Europe, to be ready to represent the nation and fight for freedom and independence.
"What's our battle cry, 78th Brigade?" Asked the company commander.
"For Glory" was the collective answer of everyone in A Company assembled. The people watching knew that there was a lot of power in that warcry that was heard throughout the open grounds of the Duke campus.
Before their march out of the Duke campus, CPT Tulowitzki, 1LT Bohm and 1LT Austin spoke to their commander, reiterating their commitments to follow any orders given to their command officers and those of their superiors above them given the task they are training to face with. Lieutenant Austin in particular, as 1st Platoon commander, given that he was a part of that Tokyo contingent, stated his platoon's readiness to join in the forthcoming operation and if the 1st Battalion would be sent to Ukraine, they will be ready to apply all they have learned so far against Russian forces in support of Ukraine's military forces and their paramilitary auxillaries all over that nation. The same commitment was heard from 1LT Bohm, the 2nd platoon commander, and Captain Tulowitzki, the company XO who was also in charge of last year's college mobilization contingent, as well as 2LT Gagnon. 1LT Jay also spoke to his commander, recalling the hot summers they trained together and his eagerness to be back on the field again.
Before long, the company commander had called for 2LT Alvarez (whose brother was with the 83rd LA) and two other NCOs of the company, SGT Westbrook and SGT Casas from Florida, regarding their duty should they will be asked to fly the national flag once the forthcoming war ends, all under the orders of LTGEN Gaski thru their brigade commander. The brigade has no plans yet of where the Able Company boys can outsmart the Marine Corps flag raising event of 1945. Right now, the captain is confident these 3, and Staff Sergeant Allen, will be ready for that day. He told Second Lieutenant Alvarez regarding being the one who will raise the national colors once it would be all over. He said, "Lieutenant, if this war ends in a victory not just for Ukraine, not just for our nation, but for the peoples of the free world, be ready to raise our flag high, if and where it will be raised." The lieutenant replied to his superior officer, "Captain Frazier, I do remember the times we spent here and in the urban landscape of Japan, as well as the shores, and the hard training we endured. It was indeed thanks to you and the efforts of the brigade staff that we are together again." He still remembers that spring and summer of 2021 when these otherwise group of lads, a few of them who served under the 78th BCT in past years at home and abroad, were transformed into a modern day band of brothers. Since his parents were Cuban emigres when he was born in the Miami area, and knew that task also would be a big boost to Cuban Americans fighting for Cuban democracy especially in these past years. Now that he had been informed of his move to Los Angeles, he is being expected to train harder to be a example to the city's large Latino community, but the call came to him to be reunited with his friends. "Captain, I've accepted your offer to be that flagbearer. These 3 NCOs with me are sure they will help accomplish this task, but it will be one difficult mission. You and the company will be ready to assist us fulfill this undertaking for the nation. If all of us will die even if this flag flies high or not, the world will know that the American soldier will do whatever he must do even at the risk of dying in battle to fulfill his oath to the nation and the missions of our armed forces in the defense of democracy. If we will do die, I will do with that flag flying in the breeze with you guys", he concluded. Staff Sergeant Allen, a San Diego area lad in his early 20s assigned to the Oakland-based regiment which has its roots in Philaldelphia (and has an elephant insignia as DUI) responded similarly, knowing that the years may have come and gone for him he is determined to help 2LT Alvarez achieve his mission. He told his commander, "Despite my young age, Captain, I was part of that Tokyo team, and I am glad we're here again this time, to prepare for that real task that awaits us. I am ready to do my best for this country and to serve our people no matter where we go."
SGT Westbrook, by then serving with the Milwaukee regiment's affilated unit in Nashville, then spoke. As one who served with many of the boys of the 169th Corps he said that he knew the struggles of those preparing to serve in this prestigious formation and the determination of these men to serve their communites and the nation at large. A Gilbert, AZ native who began his service with the 96th Arizona, he is now part of the 87th Milwaukee, successor to a number of regiments and of the 1st Seattle Rifles raised in 1969, but moved to that city. But last year he got the call to serve the nation and was part of Captain Frazier's contingent. He said that following his Tokyo journey, to put in his words, "I never felt so alive in my life and so determined to serve the nation. Now would be a time for me to bring all that we learned in Japan to the real world, for the country needs all the strength it would have from us to help defend our freedom and the freedoms of our allies abroad now under threat. No matter what happens, I am ready to give my life for America. I'm sure many of my fellow soldiers know the pressure from our allies, but we have to serve them while fulfilling our duties to the nation and our people. I'm ready to stand guard on the day the Stars and Stripes is hoisted in victory, sir." Last up to speak is a young NCO newly promoted to Sergeant and part of that Tokyo team, SGT Casas, serving in Worchester, MA, under the reserve regiment affilated to the 1st Boston. A Florida native, he served with distinction as part of the 78th's mobilization platoons of 2017 and 2020 and with the brigade now being stood up once more for mobilization he cannot wait to see action again. He said that day in response to his company leader, "Captain, I am prepared to do whatever it takes. All of us will do this mission together, sir." He was indeed ready, to put in his words, to put himself in harm's way just to serve the country he swore to defend.
Slowly, the brigade is starting to gather its strength for the missions to come.
CARY, NORTH CAROLINA
BARRACKS OF 1ST BATTALION, 78TH BCT
CAMP LASORDA COMPLEX
1400H EST
Following their parade, the first four mobilized units of A Company of the 1st Battalion, 78th BCT were already back in their barracks, only to be greeted by the HQ platoon that arrived there that day. They serve as the command element of the force and provides the administative and operational support needed to the company. It and the other units of the company are, thru the supervision of 1st Battalion commander, under the overall watch of their brigade leadership based in Cary, in the Camp Lasorda barracks, named after the deceased late colonel in chief of the brigade who joined the national mobilization contingent in 2000 in a memorable trip to Australia in preparation for the centennial of Australian federation the following year.
This HQ unit is under Captain Frazier's command and is the only one no longer manned by those cadre personnel of the company from last year's contingents during peacetime, since it is these cadre personnel that help prepare the company towards the road to mobilization during times of tense international crisis. Yesterday these National Guardsmen handed over their contingent to the newly selected personnel from units stationed in Fort Bragg, all active Army personnel, given that the brigade has been preparing for mobilization of its units. Joining them were a few who served with the 3rd battalion as part of the 78th's mobilization contingents. Among them is retired SFC LaPorta, a part of the 2008 national mobilization contingent, who came out of retirement to rejoin the 78th, joined by SSGT Jones and SGT Weathers, who also both came out of retirement to rejoin their unit. Then COL Bianco then called the 1st battalion commander via his cellphone.
"Lieutenant Colonel Fenster here."
"44 man-platoon? Is this the 6th platoon A Company needs?"
"Yeah. 6 of the lads you are finding are here with us in Cary. This leaves 38 more as four more came here this afternoon from their universities, Colonel. I've been informed by one of them there will be 4 more arriving to Cary tonight."
The battalion commander had just been informed by Colonel Bianco from Ole Miss, this year's collegiate contingent commander. His 44 boys, 9 now here in Cary, will now serve as the 6th platoon of Able Company given the circumstances the 78th Brigade has been preparing for, and the colonel's staff, following their brief training, will join the brigade as supernuminaries or part of the staff if they want. The battalion commander may have also found the command and staff of the platoon, as well as its platoon sergeant. Newly commissioned 2LT Burger from the 1st South Chicago and SSGT Okey from the 869th Cincinnati, who arrived this morning and are with the company HQ platoon, are set to be reassigned to that unit given the young age of these lads.
"So are you determined that we will get that platoon a new commander, Colonel Bianco?"
"Yes you will, lieutenant colonel", replied the veteran commander stationed with the Ole Miss regiment. "Among these lads will be some great leaders who will be fit for command so that the platoon will be ready for the battles to come."
The lieutenant colonel ended his call with his wishes of good luck and hope that he will go to Cary before the unit's overseas deployment.
Then LTG Gaski arrived to the barracks complex to inform them of a call made from Oklahoma City.
"87TH COMMAND??!!"
"That's right gentlemen", the general said. The command's BGEN Cress, commander of the 33rd Brigade Combat Team based with the command in Oklahoma City was on the phone when he informed them that they were being mobilized given the Ukrainian and overall European situation as of late, and he had been advised that afternoon after the ceremony that he, together with his superior officers, commanding general LTG Patterson, executive officer LTG Devine, chief of staff MG Flaig and command sergeant major CSM James to be ready to inform the Pentagon regarding their mobilization plans, and he accepted. He replied that they will recieve the OK from the Department of Defense and the Joint Chiefs regarding the manner, he said.
This command traces its origins to groups of Army-affilated militias formed in the late 1880s to help the more active militias and reservists be active during the winter while preparing for the summer deployment and training season. They were modeled after the British Army's Volunteer Rifle Corps but wore the blue of the regular army with green piping. These militias from Chicago who began it were all riflemen unlike those who began the roots of the 46th who carried muskets, and when these were armed with more modern rifles in the 1910s and later the 1920s, they already were organized in regional lines as regiments of the state defense forces and Army Reserve to apply lessons learned in the First World War. Organized in 1926 as the Volunteer Rifle Force, it was granted full membership of the Army Reserve in 1933-34 and in 1935 was given permission to organize a unit on national lines, what would become the 33rd Brigade Combat Team, which is a light infantry unit. Only in 1980 did the then Army Volunteer Reserve Rifle Corps, the all light infantry force of mobilized reservists and those selected from the state ground defense forces for national service, as well as the affilated university all-women's battalions, was transformed into the 87th Mobilization Command.
"But how about the others who will be coming here to Cary?" LTCOL Darren asked.
His commanding officer replied that those of Colonel Bianco's contingent which were supposed to be training for the summer will be arriving in Cary in the coming days, with their training now early due to the 78th being mobilized for deployments abroad. The 6 now here in Cary, joined by 1LT Gelof, now newly promoted, 2LT Wilson, and CPL Morgan, all called from their university regiments, would soon get the joint training they would need while the others were being called up upon the recommendation of the command's leadership to be right there at Camp Lasorda at once.

Cheating
Just thought of Iwaizumi Hajime cheating on his s/o (part 2) (part 3)
Dating Iwaizumi Hajime is perfect. He is a proper man, a gentle one; always opening the car door for you, holding your hand casually when you stroll around, and holding the department store entrance door until you enter.
Iwaizumi Hajime is amusing, he's intelligent and open-minded. You can easily build an engaging conversation over various topics. But he knows boundaries, he knows when he has to stop joking about things and picking the topic attentively.
Iwaizumi is courteous, polite, and respectful. He knows when he has to be strict and irrefutable with the athlete, he knows when he has to be respectful and witty to the superiors, and when you're around, he is loving and chatty.
He is well-dressed and well-hygiene. He makes sure he shave when it's already the time and gets a quick shower before picking you up from work. He always smells good, clean and woody. His cologne is your favorite scent. He also treats his belonging well, his car is as clean and smooth.
Iwaizumi Hajime is dependable. He works harder on himself, knowing that he should be a good example to the athletes. But he never neglects you, he takes you dates every weekend, he picks you up and kisses you goodbye on weekdays. And so, dating him feels like winning an olympiad medal. At least that is what you think.
You're being a considerate girlfriend when the Olympics is near. You know he can no longer pick you up. You know he can no longer take you to date because of the extra training on weekends. But it's okay, right? Because once the Olympics ends you will have him again.
You've been a caring girlfriend, reminding him not to works too hard and to loosen a bit for not stressing out. But his response is getting scarce. And today, you decide to surprise him with a bento, a balanced nutrition one.
You promised you will leave immediately after you drop the lunchbox, not to bother him too much. Maybe it's just an excuse, you wanted to see him so badly. You missed him, it can't be helped.
At the gym, you can easily find him. It's already lunchtime so not many athletes you can see around. And, oh, he's with a girl, wearing a jersey of the Japan women's volleyball team. She approaches him closely and now, your boyfriend's hands are on her shoulders. Maybe she just ask tips for the sore muscle?
You believed Iwaizumi is a man who knows boundaries, he should know when to stop. But now, you can see his hands down to her waist, become too intimate to your liking. Your heart beating so fast as his face is getting closer to her and when he meets her in the middle, your heart shattered into pieces.
You feel miserable and dumb, how can you never think about the worst possible scenario? Because Iwaizumi Hajime was the best man, who treat you well like you deserved to. You're naive to fall for his sweet talks and smoothness.
The poor thing is when you are rushing out of the gym, all you can see is him. Every corner of the city is already painted with him. Because you two have spent too much time, too many places, and maybe, too much love.

atsumu nearly cries before his first game back as msby's setter after losing to argentina in the 2021 olympics; not because of the loss, but because he spots you, front and center, wearing his team japan jersey, with his 5 year old on your shoulders being consumed by his old inarizaki jersey and the majority of his old teammates from high school, including osamu, all wearing various merch in support. the group takes up the entire front row, grinning, whooping and wildly waving little flags with atsumu's number on them and atsumu can only stand in shock as his lips begin to tremble and eyes quickly fill with unshed tears. he furiously wipes his eyes and sniffles just in time for bokuto to call his attention, but he shoots you one last wobbly grin before running onto the court, making a promise to go above and beyond, not only for himself, but for his family - for you.

the fact that the 2024 olympics are in paris, famously the most romantic city in the world. i can just imagine hinata seeing it as the perfect opportunity to propose.
he asks bokuto for advice (who everyone agrees that is a pro at the husband game) and he has everything planned: they’ll go out for dinner somewhere fancy and very french, they’ll go for a walk and then he’ll get down on one knee and everything, in front the eiffel tower under the stars like something out of a movie. he rehearses the speech in the shower and under his breath when he cooks, and he can’t wait to see the look on kageyama’s face. hinata is a man with a plan. he isn’t great with secrets, but he just has to make it until after the closing ceremony. it’s going to be perfect.
and then, against all odds, japan wins the semi final against brazil. no one expected the team to get that far, let alone make it to the final at all. when the whistle sounds, it’s a jumble of arms and legs in a group hug and shouts from the players and the fans and it’s everything hinata thought it would be. when he thinks it can’t get any better than this, kageyama pulls him into a hug, with a grin so wide hinata feels it in his chest. for a moment, the world narrows down to this: kageyama’s arms around him, the roar of the crowd, the thumping of their hearts in synchrony as if their bodies have forgotten for a moment how to be two separate people instead of one.
and because they’re so close hinata feels more than he hears kageyama murmuring into his hair marry me. hinata looks up, half in shock and half in pure disbelief, and sees only this: blue eyes looking at him with such adoration it takes his breath away. his body finds strength from god knows where to jump and wrap his legs around kageyama’s waist, and while he peppers his face with dozens of tiny little kisses and whispered yes’s, he remembers: the plan. you idiot, he says to kageyama, but he’s not really angry at all. and he secretly adds another win to kageyama in their tally, because hinata can’t imagine a better proposal than this.
it’s not the eiffel tower, the stars and fancy suits. it’s a volleyball net, gymnasium lights and sweaty jerseys and perfect beyond hinata’s wildest dreams.
