On the morning of May 18, 1980, Richard "Dick" Lasher, vending machine "routeman" and freelance photographer, made this epic photo of the catastrophic eruption of Mount St. Helens. Lasher was forced to abandon his Pinto and flee the giant plume of ash on his motorcycle.

10 Best Underrated Games You Might Have Missed in 2023
3. Goodbye Volcano High.
For some people, the end of High School felt like the end of the world. Goodbye Volcano High juxtaposes that feeling with a group of Dinosaurs trying to survive their final year of school while a giant meteor heads toward Earth. You play as Fang, who is stuck navigating the end of school, friendships, dreams, and the world.
Playing through Goodbye Volcano High almost feels like watching an afternoon cartoon with its beautiful animations and quirky humor. You will make choices throughout the game that affect your relationships, providing you with scenes that vary depending on how close your group is before the end of it all.
The soundtrack is another highlight, full of melancholic tunes that sound like they belong on a Phoebe Bridgers B-Side.

No dude you gotta trust me this VN is actualy good. Yes it was by channers to spite another VN that contains a non-binary MC. Yes the happy endings are the one where you successfully convince said MC to detransion and the ones where you don't are the school shooting ending and the future loser ending. But you gotta believe me bro, it was made with actual love and effort and stuff. /s

A worldbuilding detail I really like from Goodbye Volcano High is that since the characters are all dinosaurs in the "past", bugs are the popular animals that fill the roles of pets and mascots etc. No mammals because most of the popular ones haven't evolved yet (and "birds" would probably qualify as people).

I just finished reading my novel all the way through for the first time and it's ... like, it's good, I think? I think it's good? I think it's the best thing I have ever created and I am so proud of it I could cry? It needs a couple more stories to fill in some plot/vibes I didn't realize until now were missing but I have faith that those will come. Also, one part needs to be re-timelined which is gonna be a bitch for sure. But still? I wrote ... a book?
