So I've been applying for jobs for MONTHS with barely any traction and then a couple nights ago I submitted another round of applications and have already gotten four interviews (and one call back for a second round interview)! So...I decided to celebrate by getting myself some pretty and semi-reasonably priced jewelry on Poshmark because what else do you do when you've been struggling with your depression, feeling bad about not working, been kind of sick, and have a toddler who sometimes seems like she's reached the terrible twos prematurely? RETAIL THERAPY, THAT'S WHAT!

UFC 62
flashback
We walked into the arena me right behind my dad, we got to his room I set his bag down. "Dad can I go really quick?" "where?" "well I saw Nick Diaz was on the card I just wanted to say hi" I shrugged "go for it" "thanks! i'll be quick". I walked down the hall of rooms with names on all the doors 'Nick Diaz' I knocked on the door "we're not doing interviews" Jake Shields said opening the door "no no i'm Chucks coach/daughter I just wanted to wish Nick good luck is all" he looked back then opened the door "Jake" he stuck a hand out "Y/n" I smiled.
"Nice to meet you" Nate smiled shaking my hand "likewise" I smiled. Hes cute, really cute his little dimples on his cheeks."well I don't want to get in the way just wanted to say good luck" I said after meeting the rest of the guys "hey um mind if I sit with you during your dads fight?" Nate asked as I walked in the hall "oh i'm in his corner but come to the after party" I smiled he nodded and smiled back
3rd Person POV
"we look over and Chuck Liddell and some chick just walk in" Marlon said to the camera "as soon as Chucks Daughter walks in Nate starts blushing and a big smiled on his face" Pulver said laughing
"so as you know this is Chuck Liddell is the light heavyweight Champion and his Head couch and daughter Y/n, Y/n is the first ever Female head couch in the UFC as well as the youngest head couch at 22 years old" Dana said to the group of guys looking Y/n up and down "half of you are gonna start sparring with chuck the other half is doing BJJ with Y/n" Dana said before walking away "we haven't seen a girl in three weeks and the first one they bring is Chuck Liddells Daughter can't really check her out," Gray said before chuckling "but Nate's there giggling his cheeks are red".
Y/n went up to the only face shes seen before in the group, Hugging Nate "how are you?" she smiled "good! you?" "i'm great! You want to help me do the demo?" she asked hand still on his shoulder he nodded "cool!". Chuck stood in the ring hitting mits with Rob but looked over at his daughter doing BJJ with the guy shes been talking about since they met at the fight a few months back.
"from this your gonna extend to an arm bar" Y/n said and Nate tapped they both sat up "get someone and try that" Nate stood then put a hand out for her she smiled and took it he pulled her into his chest "thank you!" a light pink covered his face with a smirk. "want to go on the treadmill with me?" Nate asked her she chewed on her lip lifting her brows and nodded, "why'd you go with Y/n to the treadmills?" the camera man asked "well I know Y/n we've met so I just wanna catch up" his cheeks went dark yet again using his hand to cover his smile.
"how do you like being on the show and in the house?" she asked "good the house is alright" he shrugged "think you got it in the bag" she smiled, he smiled back "thanks" "what are you two doing?" Chuck asked coming over Nate rolled his shoulders "j-just a break" Nate said looking at her dad "mmm" Chuck kept looking right at Nate "Dad go please".
Y/n and Chuck got to go back to house to watch a UFC fight tonight "no one sat next to Y/n, Chuck Liddell her dad is like just on the other side of the room, and Nate comes out of his room sat right next to her and wrapped his arm around her not even looking at Chuck" Corey laughed.
Y/ns POV
I leaned back on his chest holding the hand that was around me, "you should come to the final fight" he whispered "should I?" I looked up at up at him he nodded then leaned over and grabbed a marker from the table taking the lid off "can I write on you?" I nodded '209#######' I smiled and then leaned back on him again. The fights finished and my dad stood up "well great training with you guys if you are ever by come to our gym anytime" he said I gave a slight wave to Nate before walking out.
----Three Weeks Later ----
Nate: your dad there today? Y/n: later like four Nate: i'll be there in like an hour or so Y/n: okay can't wait!
I was sitting on the mat ending out a class as Nate and his group walked in, he smiled and blushed when I hopped up going over to him "hi!" I wrapped my arms around his neck "its good to see you" I smiled "good to see you too!". I picked him up throwing him on the mat he laughed "I didn't think you could do that" "I didn't either I think I threw my back out" I laughed with a slight groan "lets break with the stairs" I nodded.
"do you want to um- want to go to dinner tonight?" He asked I looked over at him he hide his red face with his hood "yeah sure way not" "really?!" I nodded "yeah!". "what should I wear?" I asked as he went to walk out "nothing crazy i'll text you and pick you up?" I nodded and smiled.
a knock was at the door "don't touch the door!" I yelled to my dad then heard the door open, I went quickly down the stairs "what are you guys doing?" he asked "just gonna train!" I went out and grabbed his hand "you gonna train in jeans?" he said loudly as Nate opened my door.
He sat across from me "this place is nice" I said he nodded rubbing his chin and his cheeks were still red, I started to giggle "what?" "nothing" I shook my head smiling "no come on you can't do that" "you can't stop blushing" he smiled and covered his face "it's cute".
"what do you do in your free time?" he asked a little nervous "I like reading a lot, I don't have much free time but I spend it reading. you?" "I also don't have much free time so I guess smoking weed and watching TV," I smiled and rolled my eyes "how many time have you cornered?" he asked "10 as head then before just five" He nodded "sorry I don't know how to to date" he sighed "its fine" I chuckled.
"okay so we can wait and just be in weird back and forth or you can just kiss me" I said walking to the car he cupped my cheeks leaning down and kissing me "hoping you'd chose that option" he blushed again and hid his deep blush in my shoulder hugging me.

She Ain't Gotta Do Much - 10
Kristanna Modern AU Rated: M WC: 3520
Chapter Index
-----------------
He crawled into Anna’s bed with a deep and satisfied sigh, grateful that she suggested him staying with her.   It meant the world to him.   He’d only known her just over a month and already he was making future plans that revolved around her being in his life for the rest of it.
Anna got into bed after she brushed her teeth and Kristoff moved immediately to pull her into a hug with her back against his chest.  He kissed the back of her head, and the ‘I love you’ just about came out again.
“I’m so glad Sven’s okay,” Anna said, snuggling further against him.
“Me too.  I was so damn worried.”
“Same.”
He smiled, feeling relieved and thankful all over again.  “Sven’s a quick healer.  I’m sure he’ll be on his feet in no time.”
Anna was silent for a long moment and Kristoff wondered if she was on the verge of falling asleep when, she spoke.  “Forgive me if this seems insensitive, but have you wondered about how this is going to affect your guys’ business?”
“Not insensitive,” Kristoff answered truthfully.  “I’ve kind of thought about it a little and I just don’t really know what’s going to happen.  I keep trying to figure it out, but my brain just can’t… compute.  You know?”
“I completely understand.  And I want you to know that I’m here to help you guys wherever you need help.  I can help you interview new people, or I can work the books for you, or whatever.”
He shook his head at how wonderful and mind-bogglingly perfect she was, and couldn’t keep it in any longer.   “Anna, I’m in love with you.”
Her body moved quickly as she turned in his arms to look at his face.  Her smile was everything.
“I am in love with you too, Kristoff.  With my entire heart and soul.”
“I adore you,” he whispered, and then he kissed her like his life depended on it.
~   ~   ~   ~   ~
In the morning, Anna kissed Kristoff and wished him luck with Sven at the hospital.  As soon as she was done work, she was heading over there.
When she walked onto her floor, there were still murmurers about what happened with Chad the week before, and Anna pulled everyone in a for a quick meeting to shut them down immediately, telling them the simple truth that Chad had resigned and was no longer any of their business.
Then she sent an email to the CEO requesting a personal meeting.
After making love the night before, Kristoff had talked to her long into the night about how best to proceed with their company since Sven was out for the time being and it was going to take a few days for Kristoff’s hand to heel.  Luckily this was the week Tony was setting up for the reno, but come next Monday, the two found themselves in a very tight spot without figuring things out.
Which was why Anna had suggested to maybe get some advice from the CEO.  Kristoff had told her all about their conversation and it seemed like a good idea to get the input of a man who’d likely faced similar challenges with his business.
Kristoff also agreed they were going to have to hire someone, and fast, and thanked Anna for offering, but that he felt more comfortable interviewing the applicants himself since he’d be working closely with them.  However, he did take her up on her offer to get the ad out there, and she did that first thing when she got into her brand-new office that morning.
She looked over at the built in bookshelves the three of them had built and smiled at the memory.
Fifteen minutes later, her phone buzzed on her desk and someone from upstairs asked her to come up to the CEO’s office right away.  If Kristoff hadn’t told her what he thought of the man, she might have been nervous.
Walking into his massive office, he stood right away and offered her a warm smile and a very respectable handshake.  It was nice he didn’t try to crush her hand, and also didn’t offer her a limp shake either.  Immediate respect from Anna, considering some of the men she shook hands with honestly tried to hurt her with their grip.  Was it a trying to assert dominance thing, or a genuine laxing of their common sense?
They sat in the plush sofas and Anna explained the predicament Kristoff found himself in, and they had a very productive conversation on things they could do, the most surprising of which, was to jump in whole hog and start growing the business immediately.  Anna felt apprehensive at first, then as things were explained, she began to see the genius of it.  Now she just had to relay it all to Kristoff.
When they were done their conversation, Dick walked her to his office door and told her to take the rest of the day off and any time she needed this week to help her boyfriend get things back on track.  Anna thanked him graciously and said she would gladly work half days to help him out, and she had just about hugged the man when he smiled at her and said ‘good’.
She texted Kristoff that she was on her way over before she left, and drove to the hospital straight away.  She found Kristoff, Tilly and Sven’s parents in the waiting room, talking quietly and waiting for Sven to wake up from a nap to visit him.  When he did, Anna was able to go in with Kristoff this time.
As soon as Sven laid eyes on her, he smiled.  “Boss!  How nice to see you.”
“I’m not your boss anymore, Sven.”  She smiled back at him and grabbed his hand into hers.  “Just Anna.”
He gave her hands a good squeeze and dropped his arm back on the bed.  “Just Anna, then.”
“How you feeling today, buddy?” Kristoff asked, as him and Anna sat in the two chairs beside the bed.
“Better.  Less tired.  I still hurt like a motherfucker though.”
A nurse walking by cleared her throat at hearing the curse.  Sven gave them a sheepish shrug.
Kristoff said, “I hear they’re moving you out of the ICU later today.”
“That’s what they tell me.”
“What else have they told you?”
“That I’m lucky.”  Sven sighed.  “An inch lower and it would have been a different story.”  Then he shifted gears, clearly not wanting to talk about himself.  “What are we going to do about work, man?”
“I’m working on it.  Or rather, we are working on it.”
Sven looked between the two of them then his eyes settled on Anna.  “Thank you.”
She smiled.  “It’s nothing.”
“We’ve got an ad out there.  I’m going to start interviewing as soon as I can,” Kristoff said.
Anna hadn’t told him about the meeting with the CEO yet, and they needed to do things one at a time anyway, so she didn’t open up her mouth about it then.  She had a feeling Sven might not understand anyway for what he was going through.
“Fuck, I’m sorry to put you in this spot.”  Sven shook his head dejectedly.
“Don’t start with that shit,” Kristoff said.  “The important thing is you’re going to be okay…”  His mouth opened again and moved like he was going to say something, then he shut it and remained silent.
He didn’t need to say it.  All three people in the room knew it.
-----
Kristoff sat at her kitchen table staring down at it, processing what Anna had told him about her meeting with the CEO.  To his credit, he never balked at anything she relayed.  He listened and looked to be considering everything as Anna talked, even if his brow remained furrowed in worry.
“That’s such a big step,” he said, finally looking Anna in the eyes.
“Exactly what I thought.  But-”
“He did raise some good points,” Kristoff interrupted.
Anna nodded.  “I want you to know, whatever you decide, I am here with you every step of the way.”
His face relaxed and he gave her a soft smile.  “What did I ever do in life to deserve someone as perfect as you.”
“Ha!” Anna coughed out a fake laugh.  “Perfect, I am not.”
Kristoff shook his head slowly, smile spreading on his lips.  “To me you are.  You’re basically a goddess.”
“I am not flawless, Kristoff.”  Anna laughed and stood, walking around the table as he turned in his chair towards her.  She put her hands on his shoulders.  “But I appreciate the sentiment.”
She leaned over and kissed him and as soon as their lips met, she knew that they were going to be having a late dinner.
~   ~   ~   ~   ~
The next morning, Anna followed up with the three applications that had come in and set them up for Kristoff that afternoon at a café just a block over from the hospital.  Then she diligently cleared up pressing matters of her work and was planning on leaving to the hospital when there was a knock at her open door.
She was surprised to see Dick standing there.
“Anna,” his voice boomed.  “Have a minute?”
Anna stood immediately as he came striding into her office.  “Of course,” she answered, motioning with her hand for him to take a seat.
He did and blatantly appraised her office.  “This suits you.  Very nice work.”
“Thank you,” Anna said, taking a seat behind her desk.
“Built-ins are a nice touch.”
“Your old office inspired me,” Anna admitted.
“I assume your boyfriend built them?”
“Actually, Sven and I helped as well.”
Dick nodded like that was the answer he was expecting.  “I’ll get to the point, Anna.  You remember Mr. Andersen coming in the week before last?”
Anna nodded.  How could she forget.  He was the entire reason that she had to rush Kristoff and Sven in the first place.
“Well, he is officially our client.  And I have you largely to thank for that.”
“Me?” Anna was surprised.
“Getting the reno’s done when we asked could have easily been a disaster.  The way you run things, the way you are with people, it’s exactly what this company needs.  And I want you on my floor.”
Anna’s heart dropped.  She was not expecting this, even in knowing someone was going to have to fill the hole that Chad had left upstairs.  She was just getting into groove with her team and their new offices and now the CEO wanted to promote her again?  Her mind went a million different places at once, most of them trying to think of how she could turn him down.  And then suddenly she was blindsided by a small part of her that fantasied about quitting altogether, to get behind Kristoff and support him and Sven with their business.
She realized she must look like an idiot with her mouth hanging open when Dick stood and said ‘think about it.’
Anna shut her mouth and stood as well, offering her hand.  He shook it just as respectfully as before.
“Let me know by Friday,” he said, then left her office to go back to his floor.
Anna slowly sank into her desk chair, wondering what she was going to do.  Her whole world had been changing drastically, and all at once.  She felt overwhelmed.  And an immediate need to talk to Kristoff, which was a thought that calmed her.  Was it knowing that he would support her no matter what – that he would stand by her side with whatever she decided.  Or was it knowing that she’d finally found the person she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
She pondered it all on her way to the hospital and went to the fifth floor as Kristoff had texted her earlier was where Sven was placed.  When she walked into the room this time, Tilly, Sven’s parents and Kristoff were there, as well as another older couple that she had not met yet.  She glanced at Kristoff’s expression and immediately realized who they were.
His adoptive parents.  They must have just shown up, otherwise she was sure Kristoff would have texted her.  A whole new wave of nervousness ran through Anna to be finally meeting them.
“Anna,” Kristoff said, coming forward and standing in front of her with an apology in his eyes.  “This is my Ma and Pop.”
Introductions were made and Kristoff’s Ma was very forward in how happy she was that Kristoff was finally serious about someone and he stood in the corner with crimson cheeks and looking like he’d rather be anywhere else in the world.
All the while Sven lay in his hospital bed, taking it all in with eyes that suggested they were much more alert than anyone else in the room thought they were.  And not one to be ignored, he let out a loud ‘awwwwww’, and just like that, all the attention went back to him.
-----
Kristoff traced his thumb across the marking on the front of her hip as they laid naked on top of the mess they made with the covers.  His caress felt wonderful.  Anna was glad to see that his hand didn’t seem to be causing him much pain anymore.
“What kind of flower is this?”
She laughed low.  “I don’t even really know.  I just picked it out of a book.”
His hand went to her other hip and traced lightly over the butterfly.  “Same with this one?”
“Yup.  Had them done at the same time.”
“So, they don’t hold any deep meaning or anything?”
“No.  It was kind of a rebellious youth thing.  Elsa was my legal guardian for three years, and in that time, she pissed me off enough I thought getting these would be a great way to get back at her, even though I am pretty sure she still doesn’t even know I have them.”
Kristoff chuckled.  “Sven and I just about got matching tattoos once when we were drunk.”
“How come you didn’t go through with it?”
“Me.  I chickened out.”
“Aww, that’s cute.”
“Not because of the pain,” he clarified.  “It was because of the permanence of it.  I just couldn’t justify going through the rest of my life with a carpenter’s hammer and chisel crossed on my bicep.”
Anna laughed.  “Yeah, I can understand that one.”
“Do you ever regret yours?”
She shook her head.  “Nah.  Even though they don’t have meaning, every time I look at them, I’m reminded of the sense of freedom it gave me when I got them.  Like I was finally in charge of my own life.  Plus, they’re small and there’s only really one way for someone to see them on me.”  She giggled.
Kristoff leaned over and placed a kiss on each one.  “I’m glad they made you happy.”
Anna thought about letting him continue the kisses that were slowly moving back towards her mouth when the offer from the boss earlier in the day pressed on her mind yet again.  “Hey, Kristoff, can we talk about something?”
His head came up, a touch of concern on his features.  “Of course.  Anything.”
She nodded and moved to get up, shifting to the end of the bed and picking up her clothes from the floor.  “The CEO came to my office today,” she said, as she stood and wiggled into her jeans.
“And?” Kristoff asked, getting himself dressed on the other side of the bed.
“He wants to promote me.”  Kristoff’s lack of any real surprise suggested he might have a leady known that.   “Did me mention something to you?”
“Um, yeah, in passing when we were talking last week.  I didn’t say anything because you told me you would want to stay on your floor.  Sorry, it slipped my mind when I was telling you about it.”
“It’s fine,” Anna said, slipping on her shirt and heading for the bedroom door.  “It just kind of surprised me.  I haven’t had that job for very long.”
“He see’s what an asset you are, Anna,” Kristoff said, following her into the hall and towards the kitchen.  “I’m not surprised he want’s you in a higher position.”
“Well, regardless, I am very conflicted about it.”
“I understand that.”
Anna sat at the kitchen table and Kristoff sat across from her.  “I’m not conflicted about the promotion, Kristoff.  I don’t want it, plain and simple.”
His brow furrowed with confusion.  “What are you conflicted about then?”
Anna shrugged, looking down at the table, unsure how to proceed.
“You can tell me, Anna.”  He held out his hand for her.
She took it and looked into his eyes.  “I don’t know if I want to work there much longer.”  As soon as she said it, she realized how much she’d meant it.   She felt a new calling in life, and it had everything to do with the beautiful man sitting across from her.
“What do you mean?” he asked gently.
“I want to work for you,” she admitted.  “I know you don’t have exactly have a job posting out there for this, but I just feel like if you are going to jump in and take the risks to grow your business, I want to help.”
His eyebrows raised and he was clearly taken aback, making Anna feel an urgent need to explain.
“I can do a lot, Kristoff.  I can do books and banking, I can gather prices, get material, answer phones and all the clerical work, of course.  I can also do payroll and HR and-”
“Anna,” he interrupted, with an incredulous smile.  “I don’t really know what to say.  I would adore to have you work with us.  But you know how small we are and that it’ll take some time to build it up to where we want it.  Are you… I mean, I assume it would be a rather large pay cut for you?”
Anna smiled.  “That doesn’t mean anything to me.  My parents left Elsa and I some money that I stashed away in a savings account.  I don’t need to worry about a pay cut.  Not to mention… we could both save a bunch of money personally if we moved in together?”
He looked shocked all over again and his mouth worked a moment before words came out.  “Anna… doesn’t that seem to be moving little fast?”
She shook her head.  She knew it was fast but one can hardly argue when being with another human felt this damn good.  “I don’t, Kristoff.  Honestly, all of the things I’ve thought about the future lately, have included you.”
His face relaxed into one of those devastatingly beautiful smiles of his.  “Mine have too.  And you’re right, timing doesn’t matter when we feel the way we feel about each other.”
His words warmed her heart.  “I guess what happened to Sven too got me thinking about how precious life really is.”
He nodded, face twitching with seriousness.  “Yeah, I know what you mean.  I’ve been thinking about that too.  And of course, I would love to live with you, Anna.”
“Good.”  She smiled.  “And I don’t want you to stress about what I said about work.  I just meant I’d love to be a part of your company if you do decide to build it up.  I know you need to talk to Sven first.”
Kristoff hummed.  “Yeah, guess I better do that tomorrow.  I wish some of those interviews would have worked out.”
Anna’s heart dropped for Kristoff again and what they were going through.  He’d explained over dinner that none of the guys he’d met with were going to work.  Then again, the ad had been for a labourer, where Kristoff needed someone more managerial, and they had talked about that at length over dinner.
Kristoff had decided he was leaning towards the direction the CEO had mentioned, to hire guys to handle everything that Kristoff and Sven would normally do, and take their managerial roles overseeing the operations instead of doing all of the manual labour.  On paper, it was a great idea.  In life however, things were rarely so simple.  They’d both agreed that one with so much success already behind him could easily lose sight of that.
Therefore, Anna had modified the Ad for a foreman and they would deal with labourers once one was in place.  Kristoff would still be on the tools in a foreman role himself, but Sven could easily take up a project manager position as he healed from his injury.  And when they had people in place, Kristoff would join him in their office, which for now was going to be the spare room in Kristoff’s townhouse.
The next step however, was as they said, to talk to Sven about it.   And neither of them knew how he would react.  Especially that Anna found herself a driving force behind putting the wheels of change in motion.

Lewis x rival
“You ready, hun?" Christian Horner, my father, asks as I nod slowly and nervously. This was my first race for an F1 team, as well as for my own dads car. "I am! But I am beyond nervous." I answer my dad truthfully. "Oh honey! I promise there's no need to be nervous. You are really a good driver. Even though you're my daughter, I chose you because you really are a great driver." He says as he pats my shoulder."Thanks dad. I love you." I say as I hug him tightly. "I love you too. Now come, lets get you on the track." He says as he walks with me to my car.
I get in the car whilst my dad makes his way to the rest of the team. I get strapped in as I look around, waving at Max and wishing him good luck. I am signaled to get out the garage and I do so, making my way out the track to 2nd place on the grid after a great qualifying. We all start our formation lap as I warm up my tires. "Give it your all, Horner." I hear my race engineer, Michael, tell me as I smile, "I will." I say as I line up.
The lights turn red as I step on the brake and gas. The lights go off as I pull off. I eventually make it side by side to Lewis Hamilton, who is obviously in first, as we are about to turn the corner.I feel a nudge into me as I look over at Lewis. He is pushed up against me as we drive side by side through the straight. At the next corner, I turn again but Lewis bashes into me. We both lose control of our cars as we go spinning into the barricades. I try to get out of the gravel but my car doesn't budge, and neither does Lewis' Mercedes. "For fuck sakes!" I exclaim as I get out of the car. "Unlucky Y/N, we will get them next week." Michael says but I don't answer him as I am so mad.I get out of the car and look over a Lewis, who seems to be having an absolute meltdown, slamming his hands on his steering wheel.
I start walking away until I hear Lewis shouting. "Wow. you're not even going to apologize?" Lewis asks me as I take my helmet and balaclava off, as well as Lewis, and stare at him, "Me? You're the one who drove so close to me." I say as I start walking away."That's just driving, sweetie." My blood starts to boil as I look over at him, "My name is Y/N, not sweetie. Also, that isn't driving, its being a prick." I answer angrily at him as I stare up into his dark and angry eyes, "You're a rookie, Y/N, you don't know anything." He says to me as he squares up to me. "Oh for Christ sakes, just get a fucking personality. You think you're so cool all because you're Lewis Hamilton. Well, news flash, hun, you're just another racer. Get off my tits and don't just blame it on me when you know you're at fault. Your ego is unattractive."
I end my rant before storming off, away from Lewis.I walk straight to my drivers room and slam the door. The audacity of that man! I sit down and let out a tired and frustrated sigh. Not only was I out of my first race, but Lewis decided to pick a fight with me. All I knew was that he wouldn't shut up about it and probably cry to the press, then I get even more hate than I am already getting. I groan before getting up and getting into more comfortable clothing, a pair of jeans and a RedBull t-shirt.
Before I leave for my interview, I watch Lewis's interview, just preparing myself for what the reporter might ask me. "So Lewis, tough race tonight." The reporter says as he nods his head, "It was but I was at fault. I shouldn't have driven so close to her. I am sure that if we didn't get stuck in the gravel, I would've gotten a penalty." He says as I raise my eyebrows."So you're not mad?" The reporter asks as he laughs, "Obviously I am mad! But I can only be mad at myself. Not only did I ruin my own race and my own night, but I ruined Y/N's debut." He says as I smile slightly.
He was completely different, definitely not what I was expecting.
I make my way out to the reporter once Lewis has finished his as the reporter smiles at me, "Unlucky Y/N! How are you feeling?" The reporter asks as I sigh, "Disappointed for sure, but it happens. It is racing after all." I say as he nods his head, "Lewis said he was at fault for the accident, do you agree?" He asks as I shrug, "I do believe it was the main reason but at the same token, I should've moved out of his way. I mean, he is Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes, he is a fast and talented driver, I shouldn't have gotten in his way." I say as the reporter nods his head."We all saw that you two had a confrontation after the crash, squaring up to each other, what was said?" He asks as I chuckle, "We obviously fought about who caused the accident, but we figured it out and now we on good terms." I lie as he nods, "Thanks Y/N, better luck next time."
He says as I thank him. With that, I make my way to Lewis's drivers room to apologise.I knock on the door softly and wait patiently as I hear some movement in the room. The door opens to reveal a smiling Lewis, "Hey Y/N." He says as I smile back. "Hey, I just wanted to come and apologise. What you said out there on TV was good of you and I was wrong." I say as I scratch the back of my neck, "No need to apologise. It's the heat of the moment, and plus, I was in the wrong." He says as I smile at him.Just before I could tell him I would be leaving, he stops me, "Listen, come in here so we can enjoy the rest of the race together. I owe you and plus, I have some nice snacks." He says as I chuckle, "Sure." I say before entering. I follow him inside as we enjoy the race whilst chatting until we couldn't chat anymore. Little did we know that that would be the beginning of a relationship starting all because he decided to give me no space.

🙃 please wish me luck for tomorrow, I have Yet Another Interview...I've been averaging about 2 a week for the last few weeks and I'm still only 60-75% done with this process. Not even counting all the outreach to set up other interviews in the meantime if these don't pan out. To say I am losing my mind is an understatement. I'm so tired. Trying to be kind to myself during all of this, since this is rather exciting and overwhelming and exhausting but waaughhhh, I'm ready to hibernate for a full week (if my brain would actually let me rest which remains a large problem...) My short term memory continues to be shitty. Forgetting to lock doors, turn off stove burners, I keep forgetting things folks have told me the previous day/week that I really should have remembered (lists are my friends but I keep forgetting to add things to my list). All very ADHD but really it's just... a lot of my anxiety about all this interview stuff. Wake up and it's the first thing on my mind. Last thing on my mind before I go to bed. It's taking up so much brainRAM. I have the myNoise app on my phone to help soothe ye old brainmeats in the evenings, at least. Anyway, amongst the fannish chittering in my brain that is not witcher-related: I remember reading about someone spinning Ted Lasso character's into the Star Wars universe and I could not track down the post. I can't even remember if I read it by someone on twitter, tumblr, or dreamwidth at this point. Or if I had imagined it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? hmm. Next my brain started thinking about Yellowjackets characters in the Star Wars universe and have determined that Misty Quigley would be an amazing secret pirate hunter who occasionally moonlights as a pirate. Next up: I'm almost done with the Disney era Thrawn trilogy reread (it's only taken me like two and a half months wtf) (next will be Heir to the Empire, wheeee). I'm pretty caught up with Grand Admiral Thrawn strategically instilling praise kink and loyalty in the people under his command. I also recently revisited A Black Lady Sketch Show's sketch: The Basic Ball in which I tried casting Ted Lasso characters mental illness/neuroses looks and then my brain melted out of my ears because of previously stated tired. But also my favorite Yellowjackets meow meows showing off their PTSD looks? Love. It.
I would like more brain to finish editing my Witcher wips, to start a few more wips--they're dancing in my periphery. And I'd love to have brain to paint again. To have energy for seeing friends. I'm quite sad I couldn't corral enough focus to finish my VidUKon vid in time for the deadline, but I can just try to finish it later.
Maybe soon I can reclaim some more brainRAM. Free it up from this interviewing stuff. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Yeoreum's outfits appreciation post
Here's something a bit different from me this time. If you keep track of my posts then you're probably already familiar with my failed attempts to publish final thoughts on Summer Strike. Obviously, I'm not ready to say goodbye to this drama yet and so the final post would be a total miss from my part. At least that's what I keep telling myself after losing 2 essays in a row - I should just drop writing them, right?
So, I was reading the reviews on MDL (mostly negative ones, of course), and while I agree the plot delivers a certain emotional stir up, in the end, all those impression are just subjective. Art is art. Some people will enjoy it, some won't. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that... With this in mind, I'm glad I didn't read any reviews before watching the series because it would definitely encourage me to drop it. Now, when my impressions have set completely, I can confirm that I love it even more. What is here not to like? The mellowest, kindest, sweetest, understanding main characters - check! Beautiful scenery - check! Character development? Check! Annoying self-absorbed characters who either get dropped out of the series or put down to earth - check. Platonic relationship in the making - !!!! I'm there for it all the way and that's what makes the series even better! Murder mystery intertwined with the old murder mystery - can this drama even get better? Celebration of mother figures and womanhood throughout the entire drama - just yes. Buying it, eating it up, slurping it like spaghetti, whatever the expression is. And then there are Yeoreum's outfits I completelly fell in love with. So let's see what this humble girlie, a mother of three (3) wears while staying in Angok. Here's a proof this drama isn't made poorly at all.
R13 Red Hot Chili Peppers Hoodie 500 - 350 €

There's this one skirt Yeoreum wears when she goes to work with Daebum (interviewing a local granny) and she combines it with the white blouse and the strawberry bag, but I couldn't find it at all. Google fail. I fell in love with the combination, even though I'd probably wear some jeans instead. I love how Yeoreum's representing minimalism and how she still remains stylish and feminine. Even though that could be all because of her natural beauty, so it really makes no difference what she wears. I'm usually a big fan of no effort looks, Yeoreum and some other characters come as a nice surprise with their lovely wardrobes.
That intro makes me hide my face in the palms of my hands of embarrassment, but I'm going with it anyways. It's for a few of you who do check my posts - I'm so grateful you exist, my beauties.(。・ω・。)ノ♡
Hope all of you who're still reading had a lovely weekend and I'm wishing you best of luck for overcoming next week's challenges.
xx

May 1, 2024 //
God finally gave me one of my heart’s desire. Honestly speaking, I’ve been looking out for new job since February but I guess my luck wasn’t around me. I’ve done 5 initial interviews (two from recruitment agencies for an international client, and the rest is from BPO companies here in th Philippines) but I failed to take the next steps, hours of taking assessments but failed, etc. but that didn’t stop me for looking and keep on trying to market myself in corporate world, to showcase my capabilities, and do what I love.
Why am I doing this? Well, I’ve been dying to leave not because how work stresses me out, but this certain people who likes to drag me down, mistook my work, and telling me unkind words that demotivated me for the longest time. No matter how hard I try, and I feel like I’ve been doing well and I believe I fully understand that task. Not a week goes by since November last year she’ll set a meeting with me just to tell or ask me unnecessary things after conducting her actual intentions to talk one on one in a meeting room. I don’t understand why in the 9 of us in function she’s “assisting” (except our senior), I have the most number of errors came from her when I confidently did my work right, it feels like intentional and a planted bomb of bullshit for me, and it satisfies her to see me and my other teammates struggling.
My heart struck when I had a conversation with my lead about my failing scores he couldn’t save as much as he want to. I was worrying because I thought I’ll lose my job. During that call, I told him that I can’t take any longer and I want to go back with my previous function, I am willing and will never let it pass. Told him I’m really trying but as per this certain people, I’m not really excelling and as much as it hurts me, I feel like I’m a burden with my teammates with an excellent attainment. I feel like I’m pulling them down with my failed scores.
Yesterday was my official last day with this function I’ve been for almost 1+ years. Wrote my appreciation and posted it on my Facebook and Instagram stories for my former teammates but there’s a feeling inside me that they are better off without me.
Its like a win-win situation. I lose them and will continue to thrive in this new career journey, being finally free from stress; and them losing me and I’m sure that excluding my output with theirs has an high amount of chance of entire team’s pass attainment. I want that for them and if leaving them for team’s success and more recognition, I am willing to leave and enter an opportunity that’s wide open for me.
I’ve been wishing for this to come true and I’m excited and scared at the same time because I’m alone again. I hope I’ll make trustworthy friends.
Those people I’m talking about, I hope they realize how much their words cuts deep to me like a knife. I hope they remember how I was nice to them to receive such hurtful words from them. Not take it personally? I took it personally because I know I did my best and I was a human to them. How I smiled and initiated friendly conversation when I shouldn’t have with them despite of how they treated me, I’m just forbearing it. How they laugh at my mistakes and shortcomings. I guess they really don’t like me seeing doing better so she/they continued to gave me negative remarks when I deserve better. Whatever they did to me, I just give it all to karma.
God removes people from my life because He heard conversations I didn’t hear. To this new chapter! 🥂

this week has been rather shitty so i would like you to know that your osamu fic on ao3 made me smile like really hard and here is some commentary to it because it really did make me squeal:
"But it still doesn’t feel good. You worked hard to land this, and now you’ll have to start all over again. Change is always hard, especially when you haven’t asked for it."
THIS IS SO ME IM LISTENING TO THE WAITING ROOM OUTRO RN TO DEAL WITH FEELINGS AND THEN I READ THIS AND I FEEL LIKE THE UNIVERSE UNDERSTANDS ME AND IT LEAD ME TO READ THIS LINE. like the validation for feeling terrible and the justification!!! ah i love this so much can you tell i am in shambles from this line alone
"It’s a pleasantly accented voice. When you rattle off your order, you suddenly find it a little less pleasant after he says, “Er. Ya sure?” This is some shoddy customer service."
reader is SO funny im laughing rn love them like from the get go im like "and then they kithed" because i love it when the first meetings are more awkward and frustratingly trying to be polite rather than cute
"So why are you crying as you finish your first onigiri and reach for the next?"
so you saw me tear up over my lil instant ramen i see. READER IS SO REAL I TOO MISS HOMEMADE COOKING I TRY TO MAKE IT MYSELF BUT IT LACKS THE HOME AND READER IS SO REAL FOR CRYING AND EATING MORE LIKE I TOO AM HUNGRY FOR A TASTE OF HOME ESPECIALLY AT TIMES WHEN IT FEELS SO FAR FROM ME
“Miya. What d'ya want to order?” “I’d like-“ “Hold up. Didn’t ya call this morning?”
samu recognizing the reader's voice >>>>>
Miya had even recognized the sniffles in your voice that you were fighting and drawn you another little cat.
he is so cute i cried a bit. need him in my arms rn
You can almost hear the smile in his voice when he says, “What’d I tell ya? I knew ya could do it.” There’s no container of sushi with a hand drawn cat this time, but there is a little note written on a napkin. It’s accompanied by an origami star. You don’t cry, exactly, but your eyes water up as you read the note. He’s proud of you. The star is to wish you luck on your continued journey. The knowledge that he’s proud - his own words - fuels you as you keep applying and interviewing, never letting rejection stop you.
HE IS THE MOST MAN TO EVER MAN NO MAN COULD EVER DARE TO ONE UP HIM FOR HE IS SO MAN THAT THE WORLD COWERS IN HIS MANNESS. he is just so cute and lovely i want to put him in my pocket and pat his head when the going gets tough
“Stop fishing for compliments,” he says, and your cheeks grow warm with delight. “Ya know ya aren’t.”
THE ONLY "YOURE NOT LIKE THE OTHERS" I WILL ACCEPT. but honestly any praise i get from samu will be praise i keep in the crevices and crannies of my heart and cranium like brain wrinkly to keep all the memories of samu like is there any other logical use for it??
“Stop clogging up the line cause ya miss me-“
shut up reader is the best part of your week aDMIT IT. You're hanging off the phone like a lovelorn teenager without a cell phone hanging around the house phone for a call from their s/o like i see the vision and the vision is pathetic samu
love love love this kissing you on the head, tucking you in soft and comfy sheets, freezing your pillows so theyre nice and cool, giving you a nice cup of your favorite drink you deserve love and patience thank you and have the nicest of days!!
Love love love you!! I have no way of expressing my gratitude or paying you back for this message is every writers dream 🫶 thank you so much angel, I hope your sleep is always restful and your food the perfect temperature <3
The universe does understand you love! Listening to waiting room to deal with feelings is so universal but trust me, everything will be alright.
I’m trying to get better at writing characters to be more human, which means fallible. It’s great that she’s still charming even if she isn’t always perfectly nice to everyone all the time!
Aw I get it too! I’m at a college far from home so I also feel the pangs of getting home cooked food. I think the only thing that can substitute for it is food that is all cooked with love, so sometimes my friends will make me dinner. I hope someone does that for you too!
And what if I said you’re his pocket good luck charm for when things get rough?
Help I totally forgot that it could come across that way when I wrote that line lol!
He is definitely lovesick!
I’m so sad I didn’t get to this earlier and now I’ll never know if you’ll see how much it meant to me but I’m cheering for you wherever you are even if you’ve forgotten about this ask!

congratulations on being free!!! 🎉🎊🍾 unemployment can be scary and stressful but remember to get rest and recover from this job. and make sure you balance looking for new work with doing fun things! I’ve been unemployed for several months and I’ve found that I’m significantly less stressed because I make sure to limit the amount of time I’m looking for jobs and applying so that I’m not constantly beating myself up for not working. Try to treat this time as kind of like a vacation! Oh and also be open minded. I’ve also been using this time to look at any joband everywhere for work and really think about what I need in a new workplace and job in order to be successful. just remember that you are looking not only for a place that wants you but that you want as well!
thank you so much! and thank you for all the kind words 🥺💞💕💗💞💖
what you said is exactly what i’ve been trying to tell/convince myself. a lot of people in my life have their lives figured out - at least, they have a job they don’t hate and are moving forward, while i’ve felt just stuck. so i just think that that stresses me out because they make me feel bad that i’m ‘behind’ and guilty that i don’t have the answers yet. like i’m perfectly content with taking time to step back, rest and recharge, but they make me feel like it’s wrong to do that. which it’s not!!!!!! but outside influences are strong yk :(
and you’re exactly right!!! not only does a place interview you, you’re interviewing them!!! and i do have an interview lined up next week. so we’ll see how that goes and if it’ll be a good fit 🤞🏻
again thank you for all the kind words 🥹 i wish you so so much luck in your job search and i’m so glad you have a positive outlook on your own situation <333333 sending so so many good vibes your way <3

Description - you are the journalist for the new Harry Styles December Vogue Issue
A/N - how is everyone doing? hope you enjoy! if you have any requests please feel free to ask. love you all and have a lovely rest of the week!
warnings: swearing
[masterlist]
Tumblr media
Being a journalist for Vogue was probably the biggest flex you could ever make.
After 3 years of studying English Literature at Surrey University, you never thought, only a year after, you'd be working as an apprentice at Vogue UK. If it weren't for your Aunty, who worked in the fashion design section at Vogue HQ, then you'd no doubt still be a broke-ass, single, lonely student. Ok, lonely you still were but your job was so full-on that you didn't have time for a relationship.
Two years into your apprenticeship you were promoted to an official member of the team, and then another two years later you got promoted to team leader in your department of journalism, and editing; The Media - or as you like to call it - "The Celeb Goss". You were beyond happy with your job and found such passion in every article your wrote. Whether it be about a new celebrity romance or the collapse of one, you found a way to story-tell in such a meditated way that everyone loved your pieces.
That's why the Harry Styles had requested you to be the one to interview him.
Of course you'd written about A-list celebrities in the past, producing articles on pregnancy rumours, or engagements, or breakups, but you'd never met them before authoring an article. You'd met plenty of D-list celebrities who thought they were mega famous, but if you mentioned their names people would turn around and ask "who?".
This is why interviewing Harry Styles was a massive thing for you.
Not very often did you get to do work out in the field, especially in these covid infested days, but nevertheless it was your favourite part of the job. Getting to meet the people you were writing about was completely refreshing, allowing you to obtain a clearer outlook on which direction to take on your journal piece.
You were asked to go to Stonehenge, where the photoshoot was being filmed, as your office of interview. Even though you'd lived in the UK all your life, you'd never actually been to Stonehenge. It wasn't really on your bucket-list, but it was a pleasure to get to see it all the same.
Being the prepared interviewer you were, you'd prepared an array of questions that you were set on asking Harry. You'd never met him before, but after much googling and youtubing of him prior to meeting him today you would already be confident in saying he's the most brilliant man to ever exist. You were really nervous that you were going to screw this interview up and make a terrible mess in front of Harry Styles.
"Lisa! What if I accidentally say something I shouldn't?" You ran your stressed hands through your hair.
This whole morning had been frantic. It had started off by you waking up late, no thanks to Lisa, your best-friend and co-worker, pressing snooze on the alarm. You wanted to look professional today so you'd put on your best shirt - only to spill coffee down it ten minutes later. So now, you smelt of coffee and were wearing what was left in your wardrobe - and it wasn't much. The only things left clean were a pair of pink corduroy flares and some, pastel coloured, graphic t-shirt to go with it.
"You won't. Stop being so negative." Lisa rolled her eyes, probably fed up with the amount of winging she'd heard from you this morning - and you'd only been awake an hour.
"My outfit is hardly professional either." You huffed, pouring the rest of your, second, coffee down the drain.
"Well I think you look gorgeous." Lisa stated, whilst putting her breakfast bar wrapper in the bin.
You and Lisa were back and forth about you stressing, and such, for about half an hour before you had to leave. You had a great panic about losing your glasses too. You could see without them up close, but for long distance viewing and reading you were practically blind. You were taking Lisa's car, since she didn't think you were emotionally stable enough to drive. Lisa was the creative director on the set, and thank goodness she was so you could at least ramble to someone.
After a two hour drive up from London, you arrived at Stonehenge and it was freezing. Although the sun was out, it did nothing to keep your body heated. The journey up had been nice because you sat in your nicely heated car, chatting away with Lisa and blasting some Harry Styles out of the speaker. You'd made it through the first album, and the second one up to Canyon Moon before reaching your destination.
Upon arriving you could just about, without glasses, make out about 15 other cars, arranged at the bottom of a hill. There was an array of Audis and BMWs, a few Range Rovers, which you placed your bets on one was Harrys, and a green, vintage, Jaguar which was most likely belonging to the fashion editor or something. There was also a modern barn, perched at the foot of the hill, which was where Harry would be getting changed in to his various different outfits.
It took you a moment to register that Lisa had parked and was already clambering out of the car, making you look a little idiotic still blankly staring at the beautiful scenes in front, and around, of you.
But it was still bloody freezing.
You jogged a little to the boot and whipped out your white cardigan. Originally you'd thought that this would've been enough to keep you warm, but now you were starting to think otherwise.
The atmosphere here was amazing. People were rushing around left, right and centre loading, and unloading, various pieces of equipment and clothes. You caught sight of brightly coloured fabrics being carried to and from various places. There were the camera crew, and presumably director, all chatting amongst themselves. The smell of the very fresh air was so lush that you'd forgotten what it smelt like - especially after years in London.
You grabbed your bag from the boot, which had your notes, recording kit and laptop stuffed inside, before locking the car and following Lisa in to the barn.
It was lovely and warm inside - a completely different climate to than the outside. It was as if it was Bali inside and Antarctica outside. Better Bali than Antarctica though.
"Ok. Let's put our stuff down over here and then go find people we need to meet and such." Lisa instructed, you still too in awe of the place to fully comprehend what was going on.
You followed Lisa and you two ended up dropping off your stuff next to some other bags. You took a liking to the purse next to your stuff. Next to your bag, it made yours seem ancient - like it was worth nothing more than a penny. It was luscious and a beautiful baby blue colour. You softly ran your hands over it, finding satisfaction in how smooth and subtle it was.
"Hope you're not planning on stealing that, love." A manly voice appeared from behind you. You whipped around to see who's bag you'd been messing with, and it was just your luck that it was to be Harry Styles'. Of all the people's it could've been it had to be his.
Perfect.
He looked dashing. He was in black flares and his iconic 'But daddy i love him', t-shirt, along with a huge green anorak. His hair was prettily clipped back with a pink clip, presumably placed there to gave his curls greater volume. In his hand he had a pink toothbrush and you guessed he'd come back over to put it away in his bag - only to find you caressing it instead.
"Oh - no, no. Not at all. I - uh - I just thought it was beautiful." You stammered over your words, choosing them carefully to try and make you look less like an active criminal.
"Mhm." Harry nodded whilst looking you up and down, most likely judging why a peasant like you, in comparison to him, was touching his expensive property. "Well, I love your flares darlin'." Harry looked down at your trousers, his compliment making you blush a little.
"Thank you. That wasn't professional, and neither is my outfit, I know, and I apologise." You added, because you knew that if your boss knew you turned up today the way you did she would give you a right bollocking - and potentially even fire you.
"Never apologise for flares. You look amazing." Gemma perked up, making you feel more self conscious surrounded by all these other beautiful women. Gemma was in a slouchy, knitted, jumper and basic jeans - no doubt all from shops beyond your budget - and yet she looked like a model fit for the runway for Vogue.
"Okay, sorry." You apologised again, to which you, creepily, got the exact same, stern, look from the Styles siblings at the same time.
"My stylist, Harry, introduced me to big pants. He offered whether I wanted to try a pair of flares, and I was like, 'Flares? That's fucking crazy'!" Harry laughed as he told his story, earning a laugh out of you too. "Now they're my favourite item of clothing. Have a whole wardrobe dedicated to them."
"I wish he was joking." Gemma laughed at her brother and his flare obsession.
"Well you do look handsome in them, so I understand why." Your words rolls off your tongue before you could even comprehend what you were saying. Only after you finished your sentence did you completely intake what you'd just said.
"Good start." Lisa giggled to you, before turning to walk over to the coffee station. It was a help-yourself coffee bar and you knew that you were going to bed at least five cups to get over the last five minutes alone. You'd probably drain the station before letting anyone else have any.
"Oh god." You awkwardly mumbled, not daring to see how weirdly Harry would be looking at you, before walking off outside.
You had spent less than 10 minutes here and yet you'd never felt like a bigger clown. Joining the circus had never been so easy.
The outside wind hit you like a powerful leaf blower, and your hair blew around like crazy - most likely compiling into a birds nest on the top of your head.
Today was supposed to be the start of something great. Your hopes were set on a promotion from your written masterpiece, whilst enjoying the company of one of the most handsome, most lovely, most talented men of this century. Those hopes seemed a little too distant now. They seemed to mock you, as if to laugh at how you ever thought you were going to be any more successful. You'd completely, in more ways than one, made a fool of yourself in front of your interviewee, you were so underdressed, you were caught fondling his Gucci purse and you were still bloody cold.
It all felt too unprofessional for a job where professional was practically the driving force of the company.
You leaned against the barn, taking a deep breath to try and calm yourself. You were a master in over-thinking, but unfortunately that wasn't something you could add to your resumé. You let your eyes close and the other senses come alive for a few moments. The sounds of distant sheep and the smell of the cold wind were just two of the senses that allowed you to take a step back for a minute, and breathe.
"Thank you." A voice interrupted you from your attempt of quick meditation. You looked to your left and noticed Harry standing there, still in the same outfit as before.
"I'm sorry?" You asked confused, taking a step away from the barn to considerately pay more attention to him.
"Thank you - for saying I look handsome in flares." He repeated, smirking when he added the second part.
"Oh." Was all you could respond, feeling too embarrassed to take the conversation any further. "I should—" You pointed back to the barn, using it as an excuse to leave before yet screwed up anymore.
"Lisa told me you're the interviewer." Harry added, and it only occurred to you that you'd never actually introduced yourself. "So it's lovely to finally meet you Y/N." He stuck out his hand for your to shake, which you did willingly. His hands were a lot softer than you'd expected.
"Ho... You know my name?" You asked surprised.
"Of course. I also know you're the best writer in Vogue right now." He flattered you, which made you blush. You had a feeling he'd make you do that a lot today.
"Sure." You rolled your eyes as you spoke sarcastically.
"Well I chose you for a reason, didn't I?" He rhetorically asked.
"I mean.. I, well.. I don't know?" You stumbled over your words, making yourself look like a larger fool than you did already. Today was just turning out to be exactly what you didn't want it to be. "Sorry."
"Stop apologising. You do it too often." He told you, nearly making you apologise again but he gave you a jokingly stern look, as if he knew what you were going to say, and so you decided otherwise.
"Harry!" You both turned to see there was a man waving towards you both, but specifically to Harry. "Come get changed!" The same man shouted. Harry lifted his thumbs up, as if to signal he'd be there shortly.
Harry turned back to you and noticed you shiver a little.
"I'll start the interview after I come back from the dressing rooms, yeah?" Harry asked, taking off his, khaki green, trench-coat in the process. He handed it to you before you could oblige against it.
"Wait what?" You confusedly looked down at the coat and back up to Harry.
"Gives me a piece of mind knowing my interviewer isn't going to die of hypothermia before actually interviewing me." He smiled, obviously attempting to crack a joke and you have to admit you did laugh.
"Thank you." You say, before he runs off to where he's being called to.
                                                            ••••
You'd been sat inside for a little while, waiting for Harry to come back. It gave you time to perfect your questions though.
Thinking up questions to ask Harry had been a challenging task, but one that you'd been fully invested in. You loved creating questions to ask him that were going to get to understand him on a deeper level. He was a very private man, and you completely respected that. If you crossed any boundaries, with the questions you'd ask, you would write them out of the interview. You liked to think you hadn't thought up a question that would make him feel uncomfortable though.
Pissing off Harry would be on another level of shame.
"Coat kept you warm?" Harrys voice disengaged you from your notebook.
"Hm?" You asked then replayed what he'd just asked in your mind. "Oh, yes. Thank you very much." You stood up, from where you'd been perched on the floor, picking up your nearly finished green tea as you did so.
Only when you stood up did it come to your realisation that Harry was now in costume. He was dressed in luxury. Each item looked like it cost more than your rent, and that was saddening. He looked rich and luxurious. To be quite honest, you were finding it rather difficult to take your eyes off him.
"You think the outfit is Vogue enough?" Harry asked, striking a few poses, which made you laugh. It was refreshing to see him act so relaxed and carefree, rather than a stuck-up-prick you knew some celebrities to be.
"Completely. I love it!" You exclaimed, appreciating the twirl he did for you.
He was wearing a kilt-like skirt and he looked beyond beautiful in it. Fuck toxic masculinity. Fuck being a manly man - like what does that even mean? Harry was embracing gender fluidity and experimenting the ways in which there was no definitive line between men and women's clothes anymore, and you thought it was marvellous. Revolutionary, for times as politically and socially troubled as these.
You started removing the coat in attempt to give it back to him, but he refrained you from doing so by holding on to your forearm.
"Keep it. I thought we could go outside to start the interview, so you'll be needing that." Harry told you, and you agreed - however reluctantly that was. You couldn't really complain though, because the coat did kept you warm and, what's better, it smelt divine - just like you'd imagine Harry to smell.
"Okay. Thank you. Do you want to go now?" You asked hesitantly, not knowing whether he was busy for someone else right now.
"Whenever you're ready, love." He answered, making you feel more relaxed. He was going at your pace and was making you feel settled - he was even more of a gentleman than people described him to be.
The two of you had walked around the backside of the barn in silence, enjoying the comfort of each other's presence. Well, at least you were. It was a blessing no one was back here. It was just you, Harry and the scenery that surrounded Stonehenge.
You approached a bench and you plopped yourself down on one end, whilst Harry sat on the other. He respected the fact that there was a pandemic going on, and didn't want to make you uncomfortable in any way. You still had your mask on, so Harry had taken that as you were very conscious about the virus - which he admired.
You pulled out your glasses, from the depths of one of the coat pockets, and placed them on your face, probably making yourself look even geekier than you already felt. Today was just one of those days you wished you had good eyes...
You opened your spent notebook, musty pages practically falling apart, and turned to the section of questions you needed for that interview. You were so nervous already and you hadn't even asked anything yet, all because of the previous interactions with Harry today. Your shaky hands shuffled through the pages and you cursed under your breath when you struggled to find what you needed.
"Shoot. Come on." You mumbled quietly under your breath, hoping it would make this terrible situation end faster. You mustn't have been as quiet as you thought though.
"Y/N." Harry's name broke through your clouded mind of self-disappointment.
You looked up at him to see him softly smiling at you, blowing all worries away from you away with the wind. "Yes?" You timidly asked, pushing your wind-swept hair out of glasses - where it'd gotten caught.
"You’re alright, love. You don't have to be professional around me, alright? We're just two strangers having a conversation, to get to know each other, okay?" If his words didn't calm you enough, the soothing sound of his husky voice certainly did.
"But that would mean you asking me stuff too?" You replied, confused at his implications of the phrasing 'getting to know each other'.
"Mhm." Harry nodded his head.
"Oh I don't know Mr Styles, i'm not a very interesting person." You answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, pushing your glasses back up the bridge of your nose from where they'd fallen.
"I refuse to believe that." Harry chuckled, making a quick smile appear on your face. "And please call me Harry. Just Harry." He begged, obviously finding it weird you calling him by his professional title. All you wanted, ever, was for your interviewee's to feel comfortable and safe, so if Harry wanted you to call him Harry then so be it.
"Ok, Harry," you sarcastically said, earning a shake of the head on his behalf, "you can ask me a few questions throughout the day." You told him, but you knew he'd struggle to find even two questions when he realises how bland you are.
"Does that mean you only get to ask me a few as well?" Harry smirked, already knowing the answer to that question. Unlike Harry, you had to write an article about today when you got home and so he knew that you'd have to dig as much dirt as possible from him.
"No, sorry. I don't particularly want to lose my job." You paused to look down at your notes, squinting a little as you did to see better. "Okay. Tell me your experience with corona virus."
"Sorry I didn't quite catch that, love." Harry apologised, leaning in slightly to see if he could hear you a second time around.
"Sorry." You looked down to fiddle with your fingers - a habit you'd undertaken when you're embarrassed. "Um..," you cleared your throat, "would you mind if I took off my mask?"
Your timid voice sent tingle down Harrys spine. He didn't think anyone could ever be this sweet. "Not at all, ‘course you can." He replied, again, wanting to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
You hesitantly took off your face mask, feeling like you were in some dramatic movie where they face revealed someone. You kind of liked having the mask on, because, for one, it kept you warm, and for two, you were a little self conscious with how you looked compared to all the other women here today. You shoved the mask in your pocket, with trembling fingers, before looking back down to your notes.
"Woah." You heard Harrys voice being mumbled under the wind. You eyes shot up to his and you noticed him staring right back at you.
"W-what? Is my acne playing up? I knew I should've—" You self-consciously run your hands over the areas you know you got acne. The masks really didn't help when it came to skin care.
"Hey, stop. No. You just... You look beautiful." Harry complimented you, and a roaring blush arose on to your cheeks. You'd never been called beautiful before, and so you were taking the compliment like such a 13-year old.
"Oh, uh, thank you." You awkwardly answered, not really having any other words come to mind in that moment. Harry chuckled under his breath, still keeping eyes on you for some reason.
"Would you mind repeating your last question, I didn't quite catch it?" Harry asked politely.
"Sure. Um, tell me how you've experienced corona virus." You repeated for him, gripping ahold of your pen to start copying what he says and pressing start on your recording device in case you needed it later.
"Well, it's been tedious that's for sure. However, I just want people to be safe and for life to return back to normal, so therefore i've been very MIA for a lot of the time. Keeping to myself mostly. I only went out for hikes or bike rides. All my meetings were online, so it's been very lonely." Harry kept eye contact with your figure the entire time, and if it weren't for you concentrating on writing what he was saying then you'd probably melt away under his gaze.
For such soft eyes he sure was intimidating.
"I presume the loneliness sent you crazy at times." You laughed, because you sure felt that way through lockdown. Curse being single.
"You have no idea." Harry laughed along with you, making you, slowly, feel more at ease.
"Actually, you'd be surprised." You looked at him unsure, before returning down to your notebook.
"Okay then, first question from me," Harrys words made your head shoot up, "How can someone as amazing as yourself be lonely?" He asked and you made a mental tally of how many questions he'd asked.
"Could ask you the very same question, Harry." You slyly replied, avoiding the question by answering with another question. It was a tactic you'd learnt, throughout your years of journalism, when you wanted to dismiss something .
"That's cheating." Harry pointed at you and raised his eyebrows, but you couldn't take your eyes off the big, cheeky, smile perched on his face. You shrugged you're shoulders in defence and returned to your questions. "But you did just call me amazing, so I think i'll let it slide this one time." You blushed, again, when you understood what he meant.
He was amazing though - that was the truth.
"You were in L.A. for the majority of quarantine, am I right to say?" You already knew the answer but your manager had just wanted confirmation.
"Yeah, but L.A. feels like holiday, whereas London feels like home." He answered, which you appreciated. He hasn't got lost in the way that Hollywood could let people. He'd stayed grounded.
"So what did you entertain yourself with during quarantine?" You asked curiously, slightly side-tracking from your pre-written questions - just because you were intrigued (nosey).
"Not much, not to be boring. I ate a lot of bread. I worked out pretty much every day. I wrote quite a bit actually." He used his fingers to pinch his bottom lip, something you'd noticed he did in interviews.
"Does that mean a new album on the way?" Your inner fangirl was screaming at the thought of HS3.
"Can neither confirm nor deny." Harry smirked to himself, like the cheeky bugger he is.
"That's a yes then." You joked, pretending to write it down in your notes.
"You're impossible, you." Harry laughed and shook his head. It made you feel all funny the way you could make him smile like that. You were the source of his happiness for just that moment, and that was enough to make you feel happy for a lifetime - not that he felt the same.
"Next question," you stated, moving swiftly on because you knew you had limited time, "How's your experience with Vogue been so far?"
"Wonderful. Everyone has been so welcoming and that makes it so much easier for me to have fun. It's daunting going at things alone, but i'm getting slowly used to it now." Harry sniffled a little, probably due to the freezing cold weather here.
"Must be strange, not having four best friends around you, all the time, anymore." You stated rather than asked him, sure that he was missing his bandmates. I mean, you were - so he definitely would be.
"Brothers." Harry replied, making you look up at him confused.
"I'm sorry?" You asked, giving him your full attention.
"You said four best friends. Well, actually they're my brothers." His words actually caused a rift in your heart. You could feel it being pulled apart and torn in to two. If you wrote this in to the magazine the fans would have a worldwide passing-away-party.
"Harry." You said softly, slightly tearing up at his words. "God, I swear i'm not normally this emotional." You chest your throat and try to establish your dignity - however there wasn't that much left anymore.
"Oh shut up." Harry looked away obviously trying to hide the fact that he was tearing up too. You laughed at him but didn't draw any more attention to it than you guessed he would've wanted.
"They mean a lot to you then?" You asked, hopefully not treading on any unwanted territories.
"Much more than a lot, yeah." Harry nodded his head, turning it back to face you. He could tell this conversation was now off-the-record because of your closed notebook, your undivided attention towards him and the fact you’d turned off the recording device. He liked being able to look at you, rather than the top of your head. He swore you were the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.
"You still see them often?"
"Not as often as i'd like. Niall did come around the other week to drop off some old guitars he didn't want anymore, and then we ended up playing around with some music for a bit." He admitted, which stitched your heart back together.
"So does that mean a Narry collab?" You teased, biting your bottom lip in anticipation.
"Narry? You so are a directioner." He laughed along with you.
"And you just avoided my question, therefore there is a song out there written only by you and Niall." You concluded, which shut him up.
This conversation was going a lot better than expected. Certainly a lot better than earlier. You will be permanently scarred by the way you spoke to him and handled his belongings. It was going to haunt you forever - and yet he'd forget about it by tomorrow. Or maybe he wouldn't, which is why you felt the need to apologise.
"Harry?" You asked, clearly indicating this was still a conversation away from the interview.
"Yes Y/N?" He watched you intently, listening to your every word.
"I, um, just wanted to apologise for my behaviour earlier. I was just really nervous to meet you, and to be honest still am. I didn't mean to touch your stuff without your consent and I certainly didn't mean to make you uncomfortable with any of my comments. So, i'm sorry. I can only imagine the awful, yet true, things you must think of me." You rambled really quickly, that you were uncertain whether Harry even caught one word of what you'd says.
"Do you know why I asked for you to interview me Y/N?" Harry asked, which wasn't the first thing you expected him to say after your apology.
"No. I...well Lisa told me it was because I can write well or something." You suggested, not wanting to sound egotistical.
"I mean you do write perfectly, but no." You were intrigued now. "I asked for you because I, and this is not for your magazine, have a secret - but not-so-secret - crush on you." This time it was Harrys turn to blush.
"Harry... you don't have to say that to—"
"I'm not saying it for anything. I sincerely think you are the most delightful, most prettiest, most fucking sweetest person i've ever met." Harry exclaimed, which you were taken aback by. Never, ever, did you think that Harry Styles would proclaim his likeness towards you. Ever.
"Harry don't mess with me, please." You shyly spoke, tilting your head down in disbelief that the Harry Styles was smitten about you.
He shuffled along the bench, stopping a little way from you but close enough to reach out for you. Your heartbeat increased when you noticed his hand move closer towards you. It didn't stop till he reached your face. He took his time, courteously, pushing your hair behind your ear before removing you of your glasses. He held the right-eye frame and slowly pulled the glasses off your face.
Once he'd successfully taken them off he folded them up and placed them alongside your closed notebook.
"Can see those pretty eyes now." He whispered quietly, but loud enough for you to hear.
"Don't lie. They're so dull." You mumbled, lifting your head up slightly. His face was still away from you.
"Not to me they're not." He retaliated, looking deep into your eyes as you did his. "I hate this corona virus."
"Why?" His words were so out of the blue sometimes, it gave you whiplash.
"Because I can't be as near to you as I want to be." Harry told you. And yeah, you hated corona too. It was getting a little laborious now.
"Smooth, Styles." You chuckled. You wondered how many new and weird pick-up lines could be made from covid.
"I know." He winked, which honestly would have made you throw up if it were any other man on the planet. Somehow, though, Harry just made it seem attractive - along with every other thing that man ever did. "After this, would you like to come back to my house for a cuppa tea?" He asked sweetly, like a five year old asking whether you wanted to play together.
"Okay. Lisa was my ride though." You said more to yourself than anything else, debating on how you'd even get to Harrys. Uber? Taxi? Lisa? Walk?
"I'll drive us, it's fine. I have to drop Gem off, but i'd be more than happy to chauffeur you." Harry kindly offered, to which you were internally screaming about. You were literally, and metaphorically, having a field-day with all this Harry content and interview.
"Are you sure? I don't want to be a burden." You question politely, not wanting to overstep any boundaries - especially in these covid infested times.
"Of course. I wouldn't have offered otherwise." He protested, waving his hand at if to say it was no bother. You were already trying to work out, in your head, how much petrol money you were going to owe him.
"Then i'd be honoured to have a brew with you Harry." You giggled at how cringe you were being, even if this was just your normal self speaking.
"Great." Harry genuinely smiled, teeth and all. "My shoot should take a couple of hours, but feel free to continue to write and journal. I'm looking forward to reading this particular article." He winked at you before standing up.
"Wonder why?" You sarcastically asked, knowing full-well it was due to his exposure of his own feelings towards you. Even though you'd never says anything back you were quite in agreement on how you felt about him, like he did you. He would be a narcissist to say he knew you liked him the same, out loud, but he knew. And you knew that he knew.
"Wonder why indeed." He gave you one last smile before he'd disappeared for the rest of the afternoon, leaving you to digest and relive the past half an hour or so.
Being Harry Styles' crush was probably the biggest flex you could ever make.
                                                          ••••
After Harry had finished up his shoot he was quick to come find you again.
You'd watched parts of his shoot and he looked magnificent. There wasn't a good enough word to describe how amazing he looked. Harry, his stylist, was probably the best stylist out there. His fashion choices were unmatched and you wanted him to be yours. You were not rich enough nor fashionable enough, ironic for working in a a fashion company, to hire a stylist, but you would if you could.
You were so proud to see what he was achieving now as the person that he was. Harry was just being Harry, without the devilish control of shitty managements or ridiculous amounts of PR stunts. Harry was more free than ever, and it definitely showed just how much he was enjoying it.
You were certain that this Vogue magazine would break the internet - his fans were good at doing that. This could be a turning point for many people, with their outdated and ignorant views. There was no room for people with racist or homophobic or transphobic or xenophobic - and the list does go on - views anymore.
You were waiting by the front door of the barn, to catch Harry as he walked past. You caught sight of him in a white robe, presumably to get changed back into his everyday clothes. He looked really pretty in the robe - very domestic actually.
Today had been a good day.
Harry asked you to send over the more specific Vogue questions to him via email, so he could devote more time in to answering them in a lot more depth. You thought he meant you'd be sending them to some PA in his team, but you were shocked to understand he'd given you his personal email.
People were walking back to their cars and packing away the filming kit. You saw Lisa and the director talking to one another, no doubt discussing some in-work gossip.
"You ready?" Harrys voice reminded you that you'd been waiting for him. You looked to see he was back in the same clothes as this morning, only this time without his coat.
"Here?" You offered, having him over the coat once again but he declined.
"Looks better on you anyways." He winked at you, before walking through the car park and to his car. You were very surprised when you found out Harry was the one to own the green Jaguar. You assumed all celebrities drove the Range Rover, but no. The vintage car added to Harrys immaculate vibe and just made him that little bit more hot.
Harry properly introduced you to Gemma, who was equally as lovely as Harry. They were both amazing people and they were crazily alike. From the way they looked, down to the way they phrased their words, they were mistakingly twins. Gemma explained how Anne, their mum, didn't know they were doing this photoshoot and that it was going to be a surprise, which you thought was so cute.
Gemma spilt a lot of gossip on Harry, to which he got very embarrassed over. You learnt that Harrys first word was Cat. You learnt that Harry is godfather to multiple children, which you found heartwarming. You learnt Harry used to be a baker - which was something he elaborated on for a good half an hour. Harry was just a fountain of memories and Gemma was the one sharing them all with you.
The drive back to London was relaxed. You sat in the back, listening to Harry and Gemma pointlessly argue whilst an Arctic Monkeys album played in the background. You forgot that people like Harry drove, and listened to music, just like other regular people. You often misplaced celebrities in society, thinking they had everything done for them but in reality that (often) wasn't the case - at least not for Harry.
Gemma was dropped off quickly before Harry drove to his. It was no surprise that the Styles siblings didn't live too far away from each other. Harrys house was beautiful. Bigger than anything you could ever dream of buying. It was a palace compared to your cupboard-sized house. You were unbelievably jealous. He gave you the tour of the house, showing you where the toilets were, and even his panic room if necessary.
You migrated to the kitchen for a bit, talking about anything and everything. Getting to know the minuscule pieces of information that no-one else was trusted with, made you feel special. Harry made you feel special - even if he weren't meaning to.
Every moment held a spark. Every touch set off a firework. Every laugh was an electric burst. He made you feel so alive.
"We can go to the living room after this has boiled." Harry said, pointing towards the streaming kettle. He wanted to show off his fancy tea collection he had, and let you have a try if you wanted to. Harry was boring and chose the basic green tea, but, after much deliberation, you chose the cranberry green tea. It intrigued you and it sounded delicious.
"Why the extensive tea collection?" Not even you, a certified caffeine addict, had this much tea in your house. Coffee was a different story and one in which you didn't want to talk about.
"They help me with my meditation." He took the teabags and placed them in his glass mugs. They had a delicate Gucci stamp on them, and you just imagined that they probably worth the same amount as your daily salary.
"You meditate?" You were slightly surprised that he did.
"I try to yeah." Harry nodded, focusing on pouring in the boiling water into the mugs. "I've got very tight hamstrings and so it helps if I meditate twice a day."
Harry finished making the tea, in the light-filled kitchen, before showing you around to the open-lounge area. Everything was modern and chic. It was exactly how you imagined it, but better. The open, red-brick, wall was a beautiful feature and one that you were a whore for! It reminded you of New York and the memories you'd made there one summer.
The sofa was a beautiful velvet, green, sofa. It was soft and gentle, a lot like Harry when you thought about it. The whole house was an architectural masterpiece and you'd be lying if you said you weren't jealous. You sat on one end and Harry went to go and sit on the other end.
"I don't bite you know?" You joked, self-consciously wondering whether he didn't want to be sat near you.
"I know, I just don't want to step on any of your covid boundaries - which is perfectly fine by the way." He added, apprehensively taking the spot next to you.
"No, not at all." You ushered him to sit next to you, as you took a sip from your steaming hot cup of fruity tea. "If I smell though, do tell me!"
"Yeah, you smell bloody awful!" Harry sarcastically remarked, but laughing afterwards to assure you he was joking. The atmosphere went quiet for a minute, only the sounds of passing cars and deep breaths being heard.
"Y/N can I ask you something?" Harry turned the tone of the conversation. It sounded like he wanted to be more serious than you two were being beforehand.
"Anything." You encouraged him to continue. You placed the cup of tea down on the table, deciding it was too hot to drink right now, and gave him your full attention.
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" Harry questioned. You didn't think you'd be having a conversation this intense - especially if you had different opinions - on your first day of knowing each other, but here you were.
"I believe you can love someone at first sight. I don't believe you can be in love with someone at first sight. Why?" You were curious as to how his brain had journeyed to this particular topic. You'd never really had this conversation with anyone before, mainly because you were unaware of the true power, and meaning, of love.
"It uh... It doesn't matter." Harry shook his head and you could tell by his body language that he was shutting you out. Maybe you'd made him uncomfortable.
"Sorry I didn't mean to—"
"No, no. Please don't apologise. It's just - I like you a lot more than you may think." Harry shyly told you, which made you all soft inside. He was being vulnerable and that was something you admired in a partner. You didn't just need love, affection and trust in a relationship. No. You needed vulnerability and heartbreak too, and Harry was revealing that part of him to you.
"I like you a lot more than you think too." You repeated, not because you felt bad for him but because you truly did like him a whole lot. Love was a weird yet wonderful thing, and if you were to hazard a guess you'd say you loved Harry.
You couldn't wait to be in love with him.
"Does that mean I get to crown you my girlfriend?" Harry excitedly asked. Harry happy was something that should be made a constant, and you were more than happy to be in control of that.
"At least take me out first." You bargained, wishing for nothing more than to go on a date with Harry. Where you'd go, you had no idea. Everything was closed right now and there was still the chance of becoming sick with corona, but no doubt Harry would think of something not only clever, but special.
Of course you'd love to be Harrys girlfriend. However, you wanted one more, official, opportunity to really get to know him - unprofessionally. You wanted to make sure that you knew, and he knew, that you wanted to be with him because he was the charming Harry you've come to love, not because he was Harry Styles.
"So you're allowing me to take you on a date?" Harry smirked like a little child, your heart fluttering at how excited he was to be able to treat you to dinner.
"Yes, Harry. Yes I am." You answered sweetly, offering him the cutest smile you could.
You can't believe what a turn of events today has been. You've gone from nearly writing yourself on Harrys enemy list to writing yourself on to his 'people he's dated' list. Who knows what the future would offer you. At the start of the day you had wished this whole day to end and for the ground to just swallow you up, now you never wanted it to end. It was too perfect to be true and yet it was.
Harry was the most wonderful human to exist and you were beyond surprised to be the one to catch his attention. You didn't understand why you were so special, but it was nice to feel like this for a change. It was nice to feel wanted.
                                                             ••••
A few months later and you were officially Harrys girlfriend.
It had been such a crazy few months. Harry religiously took you out on dates every week. Whether it be to grab a hotdog at a local diner, a coffee from a quaint cafe, a walk in Hyde Park or a late-night drive around London - which normally ended up with you falling asleep before you could make it back to yours. On sleepless jet-lagged nights he'll still drive through London's quiet streets, seeing neighborhoods in a new way, just as an excuse to spend time with you.
Harry often stayed over at yours. Even though you looked like you lived in a shoebox compared to Harry, he liked it. He liked the subtly and normality of it all. He wanted your life to remain as normal as possible and, apart from the occasional paparazzi incident, it did. You never had anything to complain about. Of course the online bullying created emotional wounds, at the start of your relationship, but it was nothing that Harry couldn't repair with a bit of love.
Lisa has nominated herself to be maid-of-honour when the day comes - if the day comes. Harry has already pinky sworn that you are it for him. The one, as some may say. You were utterly flattered, but you certainly unsure of what the future help for you both.
You loved Harry, you do love Harry and you will forever always love Harry.
It was ridiculous to think that all this stemmed from you working at Vogue. From you studying English Literature in a city away from London. From you dedicating you extra hours gaining work experience and money to be able get in and afford university. So many moments in life have you stopped and said 'i wish i hadn't have done that', but now you were convinced that they were the best things to have happened to you - because they lead you, all, to Harry.
And, being Harry Styles girlfriend was probably the biggest flex you could ever make.

Hey could you do headcanons for the mcl guys (or if not all of them castiel, armin, and kentin) when their S/O is a famous singer? Thank you❤
Oh god this turned out so longer than I expected huahahushaushu
First of all, these are too long to be headcanons, all three of them have more than 1k words each. Also, I changed a bit the prompt. It's more like "Candy has the dream of becoming a famous singer". The rest you'll see... I'll only say that I'm very proud of this one ;)
Castiel, Armin and Kentin with a Candy that wishes to be a famous singer
Castiel
Castiel wasn’t one to be friendly to new students, but he knew you weren’t like any other when you came to him and asked if Winged Skull was one of his favorite bands too. He was shocked to know that there was another person at Sweet Amoris who enjoyed the same bands as him. Yes, bands (in plural). After he answered that, yes, Winged Skull was his favorite band of all times, you started talking about your common interests and discovered that there were many.
He was a very closed off guy, but somehow you managed to break into his skull in a short time and, in a few months, you turned into best friends.
When Debrah came back and that whole situation happened, your fight with Castiel had a lot of impact over you. In your head, you had just lost your best friend forever. Fortunately. Lysander not only helped you recover from the blow and gave you energy to gather your friends and expose Debrah, but also helped you admit to yourself that, you did have feelings for Castiel.
Once she was unmasked and ran away like a coward, things quickly came back to normal. In less than one week, you had restored your reputation, your friends apologized for misjudging you, Castiel and you were once again friends. The only difference was that you knew that you were in love with him.
You didn’t tell him about your feelings right away, you decided to keep your friendship and focus a bit on your lifelong goal: become a music star. You started learning how to sing properly and doubled the days of your guitar lessons. Castiel even helped you get into the music club (they were full when you got into Sweet Amoris, but he found a way to enroll you).
You knew that your chances of actually becoming famous were pretty low, the market was difficult and depended a lot on having the right contacts. That was why, while you tried putting your name out there, your plan was to get a degree in music as soon as you finished high school. Antheros Academy offered a good education and was close, it was your best option.
As you channeled your energies towards your goal, Castiel started to acknowledge his own sentiment towards you. He liked to watch your focused face as you tuned your guitar and your singing voice earned a sweet accent all of the sudden. He always considered you a special girl, but, to his surprise, feelings were starting to develop inside his closed off chest.
That was why, as soon as he won those concert tickets on a raffle, he knew he’d take you there as your first date. Luckily for him, you accepted right away. Castiel had a feeling that night would be something else.
And it really was, as he kissed you, without even thinking it through, when the vocalist sung what he knew was your favorite tune. When you kissed him back, he wrapped his hands over your waist and lifted you up, feeling your warm lips open up for him.
The months that followed were full of bliss. With you and Castiel officially dating, the school had a lot to talk about. Amber pestered you quite a bunch of times, but that didn’t mess with your relationship at all. Everything was perfect, as it was supposed to be.
But that didn’t last long. Right after you finished high school, your dad had to move to another town because of his job and you had no choice but to go too. You were sure that your relationship would survive the distance, after all, you were in love. This situation would be worked out.
Castiel came to your new house a couple of times and you two called frequently, but in the end distance started to grow between the both of you… and it hurt. Knowing that Castiel was sad made you miserable and you decided to break up before it became unbearable.
You lost your count of how many nights you cried thinking about him.
4 years later.
You were zipping your jeans up when you heard a knock on your dressing room’s door. Who could it be? Your parents had already congratulated you over the phone, there was no one supposed to come that night. Did your manager schedule a press interview for after the show?
You put on your shirt and told whoever was on the other side to wait. When you finally opened the door, your jaw almost fell. You couldn’t believe he was there.
He looked exactly like in the magazines, (a bit less photoshopped, but that was to expect. You went through that as well and it sucked). His hair was shoulder-length and he wore a black shirt that showed off the tattoos up to the middle of his arm. He wore some light makeup, most on his skin, which you deduced his manager made him put on. Castiel looked like you expected him to after all those years, but one thing about him surprised you.
His eyes, although more mature and serious, had the same brightness as before.
"Are ya going to keep staring like that?” He asked and you noticed you had just been looking at him for a solid minute.
“Sorry. Come in.” You said and made space for him to enter the room. For your luck, there was nothing private to be seen, you had the habit of leaving your clothes and personal belongings messy and only cleaning up the second you had to go.
Castiel cleared his throat. An awkward silence hung between you. You hadn’t been alone with each other ever since the breakup. You two were two of the biggest stars of nowadays rock music, but you barely had any opportunity to talk. Not that you haven’t tried, it was the opposite. You avoided contact. Your fans knew you had dated in high school (you used to have pictures on your personal instagrams and fans were quick to dig over old accounts to find information about their idols), so they never expected a feat or any kind of collab. Everyone knew that you weren’t on best terms.
You remembered just a couple of days ago, when you were interviewed for one of those talk shows. The host made a lot of personal questions about Castiel and even asked if you would get back with him if you had the chance. You tried to avoid answering, but the public instantly read your unconscious signs: yes, you would.
That was why, you assumed, he was there. To make things clear. After all, because of you yours and his fans started shipping you two and got you on twitter’s trending topics. He probably was pissed. There was also a possibility of him wanting to take advantage of the situation, maybe propose a fake relationship? No, that wasn’t like him. Or was it? You barely knew him anymore.
“So… you probably guessed why I’m here. I saw your interview” You were right, then. “And I want to make things clear.” Ouch. You should prepare for the blow. “Look, we both know time has passed and we’re not the same as before. You broke up to avoid more suffering, and I get that. I really do.”
Castiel crossed his arms and glared at you. You looked back at him with fear, fear of knowing what his next words would be. “But...?” You asked.
“Tsk.” He huffed. This would be more difficult than he thought. “Look, little girl…” You felt a shiver run through your spine at the sound of the old nickname he gave you. You had always loved it, even though you didn’t say it out loud. After what felt like hours, he continued. “I don’t want to be cheesy, that’s not like me. So I’ll just say that if what all of the fans are theorizing is true.... If you do want to try again....”
Castiel took your hand and you jumped in surprise. He turned your palm to him and grabbed a pen from his back pocket. He wrote down a phone number on your hand and let go of it, capped the pen and turned around to go.
"That's my personal number. It’s pretty useful if you wanna call me without having to schedule an appointment with my manager.” You managed to laugh. You knew exactly how these things were annoying.
Inside, you were bursting with excitement. However, you answered playfully “Hm…. I’ll think about it, mr. Rockstar” Castiel chuckled and excused himself, saying that his manager would get pissed at him if he took too long. You smiled.
Maybe it was not over, after all.
Armin
When you told Armin, very early on your friendship, that your dream was to become a famous singer, he got so excited for you. He already knew that you played the guitar and was good at singing, but he had no idea that you wanted to make this your career path.
You couldn’t have chosen a better partner. Being the tech nerd that Armin was, he helped you a lot in recording your covers with the best quality possible considering the amateur camera and microphone you had.
However, the times that his presence most comforted you was when you showed him your new songs. He was always eager to see your composing progress and gave you pure honesty in his feedback, keeping in mind that he was no expert but still wanted to help you.
You always asked him for a way to return his favors, but he always said that it was his duty as your best friend to support you and that it was more than enough having you to talk about all his geek interests.
As time passed, you started to notice that you liked him way more as a friend. Without an idea of what to do, you asked Rosa and Alexy for advice. They were your closest friends apart from your crush (and you couldn’t run to him in that situation, duh)
After a dozen pro tips and date ideas from them, you decided to take Armin to the movies (basic, you knew, but couldn’t go wrong).
When you asked him if he was available Saturday night, you didn’t say properly “Hey, we’re going on a date”. Actually, you didn’t mention the word “date” at all, hoping that he would read between the lines.
And he did, because as soon as you sat and the film started, Armin grabbed your hand that was resting in the armrest and entwined your fingers. You couldn’t pay attention to what was going on screen at all and your attention was completely drawn from the movie when the boy grabbed your chin and brought your lips to his.
You only stopped kissing when the lights went on and the credits started scrolling.
“Hey…” You asked as soon as you two left the place, holding hands with him. “What was the movie about again?”
Armin laughed out loud. He teased you about it a lot before you made him confess that he didn’t know either.
A few days later, it was him who asked you out. You kept going on dates for the next week, all of them simple but interesting at the same time. However, you two weren’t dating. The whole school knew there was something going on between you two by the chuckles and timid kisses when you thought nobody saw them, but you didn’t make things official… yet. But that was about to change.
It was friday and you invited Armin over to “study” (he was sure that the afternoon would be spent between videogames and kisses, but if you wanted to call it a study session, it was okay for him).
As he comfortably sat on your bed as if it were his own, you told him to wait as you brought him some juice. When you came back, he was already grabbing his nintendo switch from his bag.
“What makes you think that we’re here to game?” You teased, handing him the glass.
“Come on, Candy, we both know that none of us are interested in learning orbital hybridization…”
“Maybe I am. I really need a good grade on those tests.” You approached him and held his jaw up so your foreheads touched. With a trailed voice, you continued. “Unless you have something more interesting to do in mind...”
Armin opened up that playful smile of his. “Oh, I do, actually.” In a quick movement that caught you off guard, he threw you in bed and started pampering you with kisses all over your face. You couldn’t stop laughing from how his hands tickled your belly, but you managed to stop him. “W-Wait, Armin!”
He looked at you, confused. “What?”
As you caught your breath, you explained that there was something you wanted to show him first. You got off the bed and went to grab your guitar that was hung up on the free wall of your bedroom.
“Did you compose a new song?” Armin deducted as you sat in front of him again, this time with your guitar in hands.
“You’ll see.” You tuned your instrument under his curious gaze. When you felt satisfied with the sound, you looked back at him. Armin didn’t miss the blush that coloured your cheeks. “I know you’d never do it, but I have to ask even so: promise you won’t laugh.”
You started playing the first chords of the song you had finished composing just a few days before. Usually, you composed simple songs that anyone could identify with, songs about friendship, inspiration, changing the world. You never wrote about your personal feelings. The notes never made you cry.
This song was special, though, because it was about him.
The day it hit you that you had feelings for him, you had the idea of writing random verses that could one day fit into a new song. After your first date, you felt so overwhelmed that, looking at the words, you decided to turn them into a song. You didn’t think it would turn into something so personal and emotional. Every note, every word, everything was clearly about him, that dorky geek you had fallen in love with.
Falling deeper every time
I can’t help but think, oh my
I’m through, but I don’t mind
Would you trade you 2D girls
For this hopeless lover
That just wants your heart?
I’ll just say that he got the message very clearly and, as soon as you finished playing, he practically jumped on you, kissing your lips with such tenderness that you almost teared up.
Of course, he asked you to be his girlfriend XD
Kentin
The first time he heard about your dream, he was still little Ken. It was one of your first days at Sweet Amoris and you two were eating cookies in the staircase. You were ranting about how sad you were that the music club was already full and you couldn’t join. Ken asked you the reason why you were so upset.
“Well… There weren’t those kind of classes in our old school. Learning how to play an instrument and sing, even during extra classes would be so cool! If I went well, maybe I’d be able to convince my dad to pay me for some private classes and then I’d be one step closer to my dream!”
“Your dream?” Ken muttered.
“Yeah! I want to become a famous singer in the future! I know that it’s impossible and even kinda silly, but-”
“No, Candy! It’s not silly at all!” Ken said. Learning more about you made him happy and he didn’t want you to think for even a second that your dream was worthless. “You shouldn't be ashamed of dreaming big. You’ll have a long, difficult path to walk through, but when you get there - and you have my word on that - I’ll be cheering for you!”
“Ken... “ You flashed your best smile at him. It meant a lot to you to have his support, he was a kind person and a very good friend (he did cross a few limits with his adoration for you, but you weren’t bothered by it). You liked being around him a lot.
-x-
“Kentin!” You threw yourself in his arms and gave him a tender kiss. “Good morning.”
Your boyfriend chuckled and held your hand, walking with you through the hallway. You talked about how your weekend had been and, between light smiles and sweet kisses, you thought of how quickly things changed between you two.
When he came back from military school, a lot of things had changed in him, including his nickname. You were facing a new person and it had been a challenge discovering Kentin and building a new relationship with him.
Even though he was a different person from before, one thing didn’t change at all and you noticed it clearly: he still liked you. Obviously he was no longer that guy who professed his feelings to everyone and followed you everywhere, he had found new ways to show you his love. You enjoyed that more mature version of him, but wished he had the opportunity to grow into a man without all the trauma he went through. You knew that most of his growth had been through suffering, and that upset you.
You didn’t know when, but somewhere into your friendship you started to grow feelings for him too. After some coaxing from Rosa and Alexy, you managed to ask him out on an official date.
The whole school already knew that Kentin was head over heels for you, but everyone was shocked to know that you loved him back as your relationship became official.
“Hey, love.”
“What?” You asked your boyfriend back as soon as you got in front of your lockers. You started looking for your books, checking that day’s classes.
“I really liked that video you posted on youtube yesterday. I never heard that song before, did you compose it yourself?”
The book you held in your hand fell to the ground. “What video?” You whispered, eyes wide.
“What do you mean, babe? That video of you singing and playing the guitar. You uploaded it yesterday night. I saw right away, you know I have my notifications turned on to all your videos. I got surprised that you decided to finally show your face and sing something of your own and- Candy? Is everything okay?”
Kentin noticed your face and got worried for you. You looked absolutely terrified.
“That video… How did you see it? I posted it as private”
“No, you didn't. It was public.” Kentin was starting to understand why you were so surprised. He put one hand on your back as you blushed and hid your face on his chest in embarrassment.
“Oh god, I can’t believe I did that! I’m so stupid! The first time I record something like that, I accidentally post it for everyone to see! Dumb, dumb Candy! Dang, now everyone’s gonna know I’m bad!”
“First of all.” Your boyfriend frowned, bringing you close to him. “You’re not dumb, you just made a mistake. And it’s okay, probably just a few people saw it. Last time I checked was before I went to sleep and it only had 20 views. But why are you so upset, Candy? Didn’t you tell me a few days ago that you were finally ready to show your face along with the covers. Did something happen to change your mind?”
“Well, I was not ready to show right away, especially not in a video that I looked terrible in. And it’s not just that. It was my first original song. I never showed it to anyone, what if it sucks?”
Kentin held your chin up and looked you in the eyes. “Candy, it doesn’t suck and you look great in the video!” You closed your eyes and snuggled close to him. “But I understand your concerns. Luckily, that can be solved if you delete the video. You’ll have other opportunities to get famous, and with better videos.”
“Yeah, I can do that.” You reached for your phone and went to your youtube page. “Fu... No way…!”
Your hands trembled. Kentin was right, the video had few views (which was good). Only 50 people had seen it, but the problem wasn’t that. For your bad luck, one of those people had been Amber. You knew that because she had left three comments on your video.
AmberOfficial: lmaooooo
AmberOfficial: Thank you for the laughs. That’s hilarious
AmberOfficial: Just give up already, looser
“That girl....” Kentin grunted, looking at your phone screen. “I swear to you, Candy, I’ll make her regret this. I’ll-”
“You don’t need to, I’m fine.”
You untangled your arms from his torso and started walking away, trying your best to hide how upset you really were. Amber was right, your music sucked. You should give up on your dream of becoming a famous singer, not only because you were bad, but also because you could barely show your face to a few people without feeling like shit. You wouldn’t be able to deal with fame.
Kentin tried to call you, but you didn’t answer. He figured you needed some time alone. He could use that time to think of something to support you and get back at Amber.
-x-
You walked out of the bathroom, your eyes red and swollen from crying. You had already deleted the video, but you couldn’t stop feeling stupid for getting so upset by a few bad comments. And feeling stupid made you even more upset.
When you got to the hallway, it was empty due to classes having already started. You probably spent half an hour locked up, but at least no one would mess with you.
You went to the garden to get some fresh air and wait until the next class started. You sat at the bench, breathed in and finally calmed down a bit.
“Candy.”
You turned around, surprised to see your boyfriend. “Kentin! What are you doing here? Classes have already started.”
He just waved his hand in a “don’t worry about that” way and sat beside you. He kissed your cheek and took your hand, checking how you were. Seeing that you seemed to be more calm, he smiled lightly at you. “So… I talked to Armin. He already found out Amber’s password and he’ll hack into Amber’s youtube account. He’ll just mess with it for a bit, delete some videos and upload some random stuff. Nothing too bad, I promise, just some memes and rickrolls.”
“Hmm…” You muttered, thinking about what he said. It wasn’t right, for sure, but you didn’t feel like stopping them. You were still hurt. “Okay. Just promise you two won’t do something serious, okay?”
He agreed. You felt a bit better, but that wasn’t enough to lift your mood and Kentin knew that. That was why he also had something else prepared. "That 's not all. I did some quick search for places where you could record that music of yours with its deserved quality. You are a good composer, Candy, believe it. Your talent doesn’t have to stay hidden in a dark room with only you, a guitar and your cellphone recording it.”
“Kentin…”
“If you want to, I’ll help you rent a studio and record your song. That would be very useful for your portfolio. I know that’s expensive, but we can find ways to-” You cut him off with a kiss. He cared about you so much, to the point of skipping classes to think of ways to make you feel better. You loved your boyfriend so much…
Lucky. You felt lucky to have him.
“I love you. Thank you for taking care of me... “ You kissed his cheek, happy to have his support. That was more than enough at that moment, Amber’s words were far behind you. All that mattered was that you could go through this.
You had Kentin, and when you had him, you had your whole world holding you so you wouldn’t fall.

So Scarlett had a baby boy called Cosmo with Colin and because I am in love with her, I decided to write this sad, angsty fiction. If this causes offence to anyone or you don't like it, then respectfully leave :)
MASTERLIST
Pairing: Scarlett Johansson x Fem!Celebrity!Reader, Chris Evans x Reader
Warnings: Angst, A Line From Friends
Summary: When Scarlett has her second child with her husband who you envy, you start to change. But will the woman you love notice?
Another Heartbreak
You had been messaging Scarlett, but hadn't seen her for the past few months. You missed her. You missed the way she rubbed your arm instinctively, the longing and lingering gazes to each other. At award shows, you missed the way her arm would sit with yours and her other would rest on your collar bone. You always knew you liked her, but when she remarried to Colin, you realised you loved her. Your celebrity status went quiet for 2 weeks after her marriage and it worried your fans. Chris (Evans) knew about what you felt for Scarlett, and he did his best to distract you from it. You were gaining the courage to tell Scarlett you were coming to her place and you'd confess your love, but later that day you received a message from her and a screenshot of Colin's post on Instagram. The photo she sent you was a picture of her new baby boy, Cosmo. It was also sent to everyone else.
The minute you opened it, your heart jolted a little and tears had sprang their way into your eyes. You shut your phone off and leaned back in your chair taking deep breaths, desperate to hold back your sobs. Within another few minutes, our phone started vibrating, only to see an incoming call from Chris. You couldn't answer it. You were too upset. You just stood up from your chair and left everything in place, you even left your phone. Maybe some fresh air would help you calm.
You were out for 10 minutes before catching glimpses of phone turned towards you, or the sae person following you. Your eyes were red, but your cheeks were yet to be stained. Before you knew it, you'd been out for an hour and a half. You decided to walk back, you were getting hungry, but you didn't feel like eating. You took a glimpse at your phone and it was nearly blown up from Chris. You just sent a quick, 'I'm fine'.
Days later, you remembered that you had an interview with Scarlett in a few weeks. You hadn't messaged her ever since she sent you as picture of Cosmo. Sure you felt bad but it hurt too much. Didn't she see the way you looked at her. She must have because she gave you the same looks back.
It was a few after Scarlett had her baby boy and you admitted to yourself, she looked even better than she already was. But you wouldn't tell her. For now you would keep your distance, you'd do anything to keep your heart from hurting again.
Scarlett had sort of picked up on the way you seemed a little cold towards her. You had greeted her but without your close hug and a kiss on each cheek. And when you sat down on the red sofa for your interview, you crossed your legs and folded your arms which was unusual to her. You would always have your legs touching Scarlett's as a sense of security but she had her husband to do that for her. You'd always have an arm around the back of the chair or sofa for her, but she had a husband to do that. She admitted to herself that she missed, unknowingly snuggling into your side. She was confused as to why you were acting like this, and why her message about her baby boy was left on seen. But for now she kept her distance.
You had some more interviews over the next few days and Scarlett was mostly asked about the newest member of her family. And surprisingly, the interviewer had told you that your fans had picked up on the fact that you'd been quiet and you seemed changed. Even though Scarlett was so tired, she shot awake and was ready for your answer to this question. "It was just another heartbreak", and you gave a sad smile. Scarlett was staring at you, your eyes, your lips, but her face grew sad when she heard your answer.
The interviewer then asked, "Do you see yourself marrying, or having children?" Scarlett sat up straight after this question, she had always considered marrying you, and she wanted a family with you, before she met Ryan but she only ever wished for you to have the courage. Even when she married Colin you were always still on her mind. She wondered if you ever felt the same. She loved Colin but she wondered if she was in love with him. Wait, she just had a baby with him, of course she loved him.
"I use to want a family and be married, but that changed within a few minutes". You just wanted the interview over. For the next few weeks, you continued to give the hard shoulder to Scarlett until after an award show, she pulled you aside and confronted you about everything.
"Y/N, you ignored my message about my baby, you've done nothing but ignore me, move away from me. What is the matter with you?!" You quickly turned your head and said,
"You want to know what the matter is? I am completely, over the top, stupid, slit my own throat in love with you that every minute of every hour of every day, I can't believe my own damn bad luck that he got you first! I love you!"
You didn't care that there were cameras everywhere, didn't care that all of your friends were watching. Scarlett stared at you with an expression that read shock. She was so happy that you had told her the three words she'd wanted to hear, but she saw the tears in your eyes.
"I wanted to marry you, I wanted to be there holding your hand when you gave birth to our baby. I wanted to tie your shoes laces when you couldn't, I wanted to be the one you woke up when you had cramps or felt sick. I wanted to be the one standing outside the bathroom door waiting for results. I wanted to be the one you could rely on, I want to be the one you love." She was beginning to forget about the people around her, even her husband. She felt upset seeing you in a such a state.
Scarlett reached her hands out to your to grab your own but before she could you backed away, wiping your eyes and turning your back to your world. There were flashes and questions being shouted, but you just wanted to flush yourself down a plug hole. You left after your confession, Chris didn't know where you went, Scarlett didn't know where you went. Your fans were heartbroken, some because you confessed to someone else and others because you'd gone of the grid. But she looked for you whenever she could. She had a new-born to manage but whenever he was sleeping safely, she'd be calling your phone, texting you, anything.
Remembering your broken words, she wouldn't let you just leave her and disappear without telling you she felt the same.
Part 2?

Brocedes time line for a very patient anon
Lewis quotes in orange, Nico quotes in pink, everyone else is blue.
okay first some background knowledge:
Nico is rich as fuck. only child, born in Germany, brought up in Monaco. son of world champion Keke Rosberg
Lewis was born on a council estate in Stevenage and his dad had to work multiple jobs for him to start karting
Honestly I think the difference in their backgrounds is one of the things that pushed them together, they were both isolated from the rest of the kids, but I’m keeping this purely facts rather than speculation.
2000
They’re both 15 years old and are karting teammates for MBB (Mercedes Benz McLaren) in Formula A
Robert Kubica: “there was always competition. But they didn’t fight. It was friendly competition. There was always laughing afterwards.” // “they would even have races to eat pizza”
They often shared hotel rooms at the races which was a “scene of many wrestling matches between them”
Dino Chiesa (their karting boss) – “many times I was called by reception about some problem in the room. It might be noise, or they might have broken something. They would never sleep so they were always tired the next morning”
“they both liked ice cream so much, particularly vanilla. During the night they wanted to eat ice cream always, so I had to go out everywhere to find some and keep them happy”
Lewis would often persuade Nico to buy him sweets
They would have competitions over LITERALLY EVERYTHING
Lewis: “we always had great competition whether on the racetrack or computer games or playing football”
“probably the first bit of competition we had was when Nico used to ride a unicycle everywhere so I thought, ‘I’ve got to learn how to ride this unicycle. Ive got to be better than him.’ I spent all my time outside the go-kart learning to ride this unicycle”
Apparently it only took Lewis 2 hours to teach himself how to do it
In maybe 2013 ish (when they were still friends) Lewis reflected with– “I have never laughed so much than when we were racing together. Nico was kicking everyone’s butt at that time. We had so great races together and built a great relationship”
“we were just arriving and enjoying go-karts and eating pizzas every weekend, fighting all the time and just having fun, whereas now it’s all business.”
many times they would talk about what they would do when they got to f1, made plans hoping to be teammates and become world champions together.
“Nico would say ‘when I’m in formula one’ and for me it was always ‘if I ever get to formula one’. Because obviously Nico’s dad was a formula 1 driver- he knew he was going to make it.”
F1
Nico joined f1 in 2006 with williams, Lewis 2007 with McLaren. And man I WISH I knew what went down with this two when Lewis nearly one his rookie season (missing out by one point to mr fernando alonso) and then WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP in his SECOND SEASON (again by one point thank you mr alonso)
2008 Australia
Nicos gets his first podium, and ofc Lewis is there (he won it) and they are jumping around in the cool down room. Just, two kids who are literally living the one thing they have spent their whole lives dreaming about together. Lewis won the championship that year and oh wow I can only imagine their celebrations together.
Tumblr media
2013
They’re teammates in Mercedes!!!
Nico: “every other day there are moments or things that pop up and I can smirk and thing, ‘that’s exactly the same as it was 15 years ago’”
2013 Malaysian Grand Prix gets an honourable mention. This is the race with red bulls good old multi 21 but merc also had their own team orders, stopping nico from fighting for his first merc podium, but Lewis disagreed with it so it didn’t really spark that much tension between them- more the team.
2014
the start of the turbo-hybrid era so y’all know this was good in terms of performance.
2014 Bahrain Grand Prix
They were both fighting for the win and had a collision which prompted a “mock fight” in parc ferme after the race (which I really hope there’s a video of).
Turns out, Nico won because he had used engine modes banned by Mercedes to get a power advantage in the closing laps. which kinda pissed Lewis off
2014 Spanish Grand Prix
Lewis’ fourth win in a row and took lead in the championship. They were fighting till literally the last second and Lewis crossed the line 0.6 seconds ahead of Nico, who says he could have passed him with one more lap.
Lewis defended using the same banned engine modes that Nico had used in Bahrain. Yeah.
2014 Monaco Grand Prix
This is IT. This is peak petty bitch. This is the one people still cry about.
It’s the end of Q3, both of them are out on a lap, Nico ahead of lewis. Nico’s already on provisional pole but Lewis is pretty close.
And then,, Nico just,, parks his car?? He says he made a mistake but the guy doesn’t even crash he straight up just,, rolls to a stop into a slip road. So the yellow flags come out forcing Lewis to abort a lap that was in the makings of pole.
The stewards say it was a-okay but Lewis was convinced it was intentional (and let’s be honest, yeah it probably was) and he even claimed that merc’s data proved it. (low key surprised he didn’t just tweet out the telemetry but I guess he got a stern telling off from mclaren last time)
But *this* is when Lewis tells the world that they aren’t friends anymore. An iconic interview.
Nico then wins the race too, ending Lewis’s four win streak and putting Nico in the lead of the championship.
2014 Hungarian Grand Prix
Lewis has an engine failure in quali meaning he starts from the pit lane, but he does good to make his way up the pack but THEN there’s a safety car which puts him ahead of Nico but on a different strategy.
Nico asks if Lewis can let him past as he needs to pit again before the end of the race, which will give him the place back anyways. Lewis straight up refuses, he’s on a role here. He started from last, and Nico started from pole, why should he slow down to let his title rival through.
Mercedes strongly suggest that his blocking fucked up Nicos race but Niki Lauda is on Lewis’ side so he doesn’t get punished (We stan a supportive father figure) even though he did blatantly refuse to be a team player.
And guys, this is the last race before the summer break so you know Nico was left seething for four weeks.
2014 Belgian Grand Prix
Second lap, Nico attempts a clumsy move and there’s contact, giving Hamilton a puncture and knocking him out of the race.
There’s a lot of controversy but basically it turns out he crashed with him intentionally, not backing out of the corner to “prove a point”. Nico ended up finishing second but was punished by the team, forced to apologise, and even booed on the podium.
2014 Abu Dhabi
For some reason it ran for double points?? The first time in History??? But idk???
Lewis had a perfect start and went on to win it and take the title, Nico had a problem and was told to retire the car but he kept going anyway and finished 14th. Nico went into the cool down room to congratulate Lewis on the championship win, which. cute.
Lewis claimed his second championship. Which not only was huge because of the inter team rivalry, but also because of the large gap between his first win. This guy had lost out on winning the championship in his ROOKIE season by ONE POINT, and then WON it in his SECOND season, and then there was like a FIVE YEAR gap before he won it again.
Tumblr media
2015
Damnnn this car was fiiiinneeeeeee.
They do more laps in testing than any other car AND do it on a single power unit. And then. Australia. They take a one-two THIRTY FOUR seconds ahead of the third place Ferrari.
2015 Chinese Grand Prix
Nico is second in a one-two but claims that Lewis kept backing him up into Seb, trying to compromise his race (and help out his boyfriend).
Lewis gave zero shits: "It's not my job to look after Nico's race, it's my job to manage the car and bring the car home as healthy and as fast as possible. That's what I did."
2015 U.S. Grand Prix
If Lewis wins here he could also claim the title with three races to spare (you have to remember back then the title fight often went up to the last race so this was pretty cool)
Lewis very aggressively forced Rosberg wide at Turn 1 to claim the lead, and then there was some sexy fighting between the Mercs and Redbull all race. Nico led in the closing stages but made a mistake, running deep into a corner and letting Lewis past with only a handful of laps to go.
Nico finished P2 and had not only lost the race but the championship title. Nico was fuming, saying Lewis’ move at the start was “one step too far”.
This is the infamous cap throw in the cool down room. Lewis throws Nico his P2 hat, Nico straight up yeets it back at him. I tear up just thinking about it. They grow up so fast.
Tumblr media
2016
Nico had came so close to winning and I guess this was just, the last straw. All or nothing. This year he literally gave it everything he had. Lewis and him stopped speaking, Nico gave up literally the rest of his life and even stopped sleeping in the same bed as his wife and taking care of his kids, instead spending every moment trying to get into Lewis’ head. Honestly, I think he might be the only one that could beat Lewis. Just because he knew him *so well*. He literally threw away like 16 years of friendship. But also it’s like, he had to be world champion. He *had to*. His dad was champion and his whole life he’s been preparing to win it too. Tough luck that he raced in the same era as Mr. Best Driver The Sport Has Ever Seen.
Nico won the last few races of 2015, and the first four races of 2016. Lewis had a couple car problems and Nico had a good lead on him in the championship.
2016 Spanish Grand Prix
Gentlemen. A short view back to the past. Nico had made a switch error on the formation lap causing the car to go into the wrong engine mode. So he was running a lot slower than Lewis, who was fighting to claim back the lead.
Nico closed the door to keep him back, and Lewis lost control on the grass, and spins into Nico and taking them both out of the race in the first lap. This is probably one of the most iconic crashes. I’m pretty sure there’s a clip of this somewhere in black and white with the titanic music over the top.
Niki Lauda blamed this one on Lewis (I guess even a supportive dad has to be critical sometimes) "Lewis is too aggressive. It is stupid, we could've won this race".
2016 Austrian Grand Prix
Nico had been struggling with a brake issue all race but was still on the way to win it. But in the last lap Lewis had caught him up and gone in for the overtake.
Typical Nico not taking any shit, refusing to be the guy that backs out and they collide. Lewis took the win and a damaged Nico dropped to fourth. From first. In the last lap.
Both of them blamed each other and tired dad team boss Toto Wolff threatened team orders in future races.
The stewards blamed Nico for the incident, issuing him two penalty points for failing to allow "racing room" and causing a collision.
2016 Abu Dhabi
In the final laps of the race, Lewis ignored team-orders from his race engineer and the technical director.
He deliberately slowed and backed Nico into the pack hoping they overtake him, and there would be enough of a points difference to win the title.
Nico finished second and won the title by five points.
And then,,, Nico announced a surprise retirement during the FIA prize giving ceremony.
Lewis’ response:
"This is the first time he's won in 18 years, hence why it was not a surprise that he decided to stop.” (We stan a petty king)
“But he's also got a family to focus on and probably wants to have more children. Formula One takes up so much of your time."
“In terms of missing the rivalry, of course because we started karting when we were 13 and we would always talk about being champions. When I joined this team, Nico was there, which was something we spoke about when we were kids. So it's going to be very, very strange, and, for sure, it will be sad to not have him in the team next year."
And now they are kind of on speaking terms but not really, they are both pretty private but I think they are at the ‘awkward small talk when we run into each other at the supermarket’ stage of the break up.

Luck On Tour
A/N: Soo, this is my little thing for @oh-honey-styles HSFICSLAM 2 challenge. I’ve been struggling to write something for a while now and this kind of just caught my attention because it seemed like fun. It’s nothing too serious or fancy. Just a little bit of fun. If one person enjoys it then I’m happy, bc I just had a good time writing again.
Let me know your thoughts, it would mean a lot!!! xx
WC: 2.7K // a cheesy story about good luck charms and love
Tumblr media
“You’re jealous aren’t you?”
“What?”
You blinked and turned around to glance at Charlotte who was looking at you with a smug smile. She raised her eyebrows knowingly and nodded her head in the direction you had just been glaring.
“I told you this was gonna happen.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you told her, taking a deep breath, before forcing a strangled laugh from your chest. “Why would I be jealous?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Charlotte hummed and tapped her chin, pretending to be deep in thought before continuing. “Maybe because you two have been sleeping together for a couple of weeks now and you won’t admit it’s more than a ‘friends with benefits’ type of thing.”
You opened your mouth to tell her she was wrong, but Charlotte stopped you by putting her hand up and adding; “And now you’ve been glaring at poor Rosie for the last ten minutes for doing his hair - which, you know, is her job.”
“I have not.”
“Sure,” she chuckled mockingly and pressed her lips together to stop herself from grinning. “If you say so.”
Instead of replying you turned around to look at Harry again. He sat across the room from you, getting ready for the last and final show of his tour, with Rosie standing in front of him. Your eyes went to her hands as she ran her fingers through his brown hair and twirled his locks around her fingers to give him a little more definition.
And you had no reason to be jealous - but maybe you were? Just a little bit. Just the tiniest little bit jealous.
Because you now knew just how soft his hair was and that morning you had been the one to soothingly run your hands through it as he rested his head on your chest, cuddling up to you and holding you close.
Still, you really shouldn’t be jealous, because Rosie was only doing her job as his hairstylist and there was absolutely no reason for you to be jealous. None. Nada. Zero.
But then there was also that interviewer who, in your opinion, sat way too close to him and touched his arm a little too often. Laughing and flirting with him like no one else was around. It left a sour taste in your mouth, although you would never admit that outloud. Especially not to Charlotte.
It was only supposed to be a bit of fun. It was never supposed to get to this point. You were only supposed to be the tour photographer. Harry had liked the pictures you had taken of him during one of his Jingle Bell Ball performances a while back. And when his regular photographer wasn’t able to join him on the North American part of his tour, due to a conflict in her schedule, his team reached out and asked if you were available.
You were.
So a couple weeks later you were on a plane, traveling across the Atlantic, and ended up befriending one of the world's biggest pop stars.
How you ended up naked in his bed after the show in Chicago was still something you were trying to figure out.
It kind of just... happened.
One of the crew members had turned 40 and Harry had arranged a big birthday party for him after the show. You weren’t supposed to be working but you couldn’t stop yourself from pulling out your camera, the moment was there and you wanted to capture everyone's good spirits. Harry came up to you, a plate of cake in one hand and a drink in the other, forcing you to take it from him and telling you to put the camera away and have some fun.
One drink turned into another, and another turned into a third, and the third turned into a shot of tequila. It was all just downhill from there.
As the night went on you found yourself being drawn closer to Harry and when his fingers danced across the skin on your thigh you knew there was no going back. An hour later you stumbled into his hotel room, and his hands and lips were all over you as you ripped his shirt from his body before the door was even fully closed behind you.
The next morning you woke up with a raging headache and a belly full of regret because it was terribly unprofessional of you to sleep with the artist you were supposed to be working for. You were sure you were going to be told to pack your bags and go back home.
Of course that didn’t happen and Harry was nothing but sweet. He ordered both of you breakfast and let you sleep off your hangover in his bed while he got himself ready for the day.
Then it kind of just became a thing, because life on the road could be a little lonely and your pink vibrator wasn’t always enough.
It didn't bring you the same warmth Harry did.
And he didn’t seem to mind sharing a bed with you either, even if he sometimes complained about your cold toes rubbing against his legs.
So, really, who were you to say no?
But perhaps you should’ve because now the tour was coming to an end and you had no idea where the two of you stood and the uncertainty of it all was making you jealous of his hairstylist touching him - not ideal.
Which was why you decided to remove yourself from the situation and went to get your camera ready instead. You found yourself a quiet spot in a small corner next to the stage and tried to ignore the immature thoughts about Harry and Rosie running through your mind.
You shouldn't be jealous. It was stupid. Besides you and Harry weren’t anything exclusive. Sure, he made your heart beat twice as fast and made you feel things you had only ever read about in novels before, but you hadn’t told him any of that yet.
And you weren’t really sure how to tell him any of that.
Should you even tell him?
Telling him would make it real and what if he didn’t feel the same... that would certainly be the end of whatever was going on between the two of you.
But it was possible that the end of the tour also represented the end of the two of you, so, maybe you didn’t even have anything to lose by telling him?
You groaned to yourself and ran a hand over your face in frustration, eyes squeezed shut as you tried to drown out your thoughts with the sound from all the screaming fans in the already full-packed arena. The anticipation was high and usually it made your whole body itch with excitement as well, there was just so much love and adoration going around for one person. It was impossible to not be part of it, but tonight it only made your belly twist with anxiety.
You were going to miss it. The loud crowds. The anticipation. The joy radiating off of everyone in the arenas. The ringing in your ears as you got into bed hours later. The sparkle in Harry’s eyes as he looked through the pictures you’d taken and saw the happy faces of his fans.
You were going to miss him. Harry.
It was one of the reasons you hadn’t asked him how he felt about the two of you. If he turned around and said that your late night rendezvous was only a bit of fun while you were on the road... Well, it was something you weren’t ready to hear just yet.
Fuck.
It was also at that exact moment that Harry decided to show up, only a couple minutes before he was due to go out on stage.
“There you are,” he called out when he spotted you, your green trousers and matching striped blazer making you stand out from your little hideout in the dark corner. You watched as he said something to Jeff before making his way over to you. “Been lookin’ for ya for bloody ages - thought I’d have to go on stage without a goodluck from my little ladybug.”
You tried your best to ignore the way your whole body tingled from his little nickname for you; a nickname that started after he noticed the small little ladybug ring you always wore on your right index finger. You had had it since you were twelve and you just couldn’t get rid of it. Ever since you first saw it in the small thrift shop in your hometown it had been your good luck charm.
And once Harry asked about it and learned that you wore it every single day for good luck, he decided it was also the reason why the North American tour had been going so well and didn’t go on stage before you had wished him a good show.
“Well, here I am.”
Harry frowned and stopped in his tracks. You couldn’t look at him, the high waisted trousers and sparkling suit jacket he was wearing made your already racing heart beat even faster.
“Is everything alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just getting ready,”  you muttered and nodded down to the camera in your hands. You didn’t mean to sound so bitter but the words fell from your lips before you could stop yourself. “Are you all set for the last show then? Maybe you should go find Rosie again to make sure the hair is good.”
You regretted it as soon as you said it, your cheeks turning hot as the last phrase slipped from your tongue.
That was stupid.
His eyes burned through your skin and you knew there was no way he was going to let your snide little remark go. Stupid stupid stupid.
For a moment you contemplated just making a run for it so you could hide in the lively crowd for the whole show and then simply just disappear into the night, so you wouldn’t ever have to look Harry Styles in the eyes ever again.
But something stopped you.
A low, almost inaudible, chuckle fell from the man in front of you and you glanced up at him just as his lips curled into a small smirk, his dimple appearing on his cheek, and you felt your face grow even hotter. “Don’t look at me like that.”
Harry held his hands up innocently.
“I’m not looking at you in any way,” he said, still smirking, and let his tongue poke out to lick his pink lips.
“Yes, you are! I don’t like that-” you started and waved your finger at him, “Whatever it is you're doing with your face.”
“Are you jealous?” Harry asked, ignoring your frustrated little stomp, and took a step closer to you.
“What? No, don’t be ridiculous,” you said, taking a shaky breath and a step backwards away from him, making both of you disappear in the shadows of the dark corner where you had previously been hiding as he followed and continued to come closer.
“You are, aren’t you?”
“I’m not.”
“It’s fine if you are.”
“You really need to stop or I’ll only snap pictures of you from your worst angles tonight.”
Not that he really had any bad angles but that was beside the point. It was absolutely infuriating how he could see right through you so easily.
Harry laughed and took one final step forward, trapping you between his body and the wall. His familiar perfume washed over you and you wanted to bathe in it forever. He always smelled so damn good, and for a moment you forgot about your childish behavior from a couple seconds ago and let yourself get lost in the green of his eyes
“You know you have nothing to be jealous of, right?” Harry told you and reached out to push a strand of your hair away from your face. His fingers gently brushed across the apple of your cheek, making your heart flutter and head fuzzy. He was no longer smirking at you but his lips were still turned upwards. Instead of the smug smirk he was now looking down at you with a soft smile - the same smile you had gotten so used to seeing first thing in the morning, and you were sure you wouldn’t mind if you got to see it every morning for the rest of your life.
“Do I?” you breathed out nervously.
“Well, when we’re back in London I'm gonna make sure to finally take you on a proper date and-”
“What?”
You didn’t mean to cut him off. It just took you completely off guard and the words fell from your lips before you could think twice about it. “You want to take me out on a date in London?”
That caught him a little off guard.
“Oh,” Harry faltered a little and scratched the back of his neck. For the first time there was a hint of nervousness across his otherwise confident features. “I kind of just assumed we would, eh, we don’t have to- I mean if you, um- if you don’t- I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have assumed you wanted to continue things back home.”
And you probably really should’ve said something then, but you were at a loss for words. It was the first time either of you had ever mentioned something about seeing each other after the tour was done. You finally had an answer to the question that had swirled around in your head for days and had created the uncertainty and jealousy in the first place. Just like that.
You had spent all day trying to decide whether you should tell him your feelings for him had changed and admit you wanted to see him more, and there he was -- already planning for your first official date.
You really needed to say something.
But someone else beat you to it.
“H!” It was Jeff. “You’ve got less than a minute until you have to get on stage, c’mon!”
Harry turned around and gave his friend a thumbs up, to let him know he had heard him, before he looked down at you again.
“Alright, duty calls I guess,” he said and gave you a small smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Again, I’m sorry.”
And you knew you had to say something because you couldn’t let him do his final show thinking you didn’t actually want to continue seeing him. Especially when it was the opposite of what you wanted.
“Wait,” you burst out and reached for his hand to stop him from leaving. “I do. I do want to see you.”
Harry’s dimple made another appearance and there was so much more you wanted to say to him. You wanted to tell him how thankful you were to have met him. How happy he made you. How safe you felt in his company. How you could always be yourself around him. How he actually had no right to complain about your cold feet because his own were even colder.
But Jeff beat you again.
“Harry!” He shouted. “Get your ass over here!”
“We probably shouldn’t talk about this right now,” Harry chuckled and pulled you a little closer, his hand still in yours.
“Probably not,” you mumbled and watched as Harry ran his fingers over your dainty little ladybug ring, before lifting your hand to his mouth and pressing a soft kiss to it. His warm lips lingered for a couple seconds on your skin and you could have melted into a puddle right there and then.
“Wish me luck then,” he smiled, his lips still brushing against the skin on top of your hand.
“You don’t need it.”
“Shhh, don’t ruin it now,” he shushed and shook his head lightly. “S’the last show. I need my ladybug luck.”
“If you need your ladybug luck,” you began quietly and pulled your hand away from his. Harry pouted and reached for your hand to have the little ladybug on your ring between you again, but you were quicker and put your arm around his waist. “Why haven’t you kissed me yet?”
A grin broke out across his face and he didn’t waste any time before pressing his lips to yours in a soft kiss that filled your belly with butterflies. Warmth consumed your whole body as you leaned into the kiss and Harry smiled against your lips. You really could’ve stayed in that moment forever.
“Harry!”
Jeff called his name again.
Harry let out an excessive sigh as he broke your kiss and leaned his forehead against yours. His breath warm on your face and as he pressed his lips to yours again in a short peck you realised you were still smiling as well.
Then he was off to do his final show.
And despite the thousands of ear piercing screams that filled the arena as he entered the stage the sweet little “Good luck” you shouted after him was the loudest one.

His Good Sweater: Chapter 13
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Thanks to @acollectionofficsandshit for being my bestie and beta reading! This would have never happened without her ❤ Make sure you read Roman Profile, set in the same universe!
Word Count: 6.7k
Recommended song: "Cupid’s Chokehold/Breakfast in America” by Gym Class Heroes
"I have to go."
"Can't you stay five more minutes?"
"I wish."
"Come on, just a few more minutes to cuddle." Pierre flings back the fluffy duvet and holds out a hand. "Please?"
"I have an exam," you say with a sigh but bend to press a kiss to his upturned palm. "I can't skip."
Pierre groans and slings an arm over his eyes. "What am I supposed to do all day?"
"I don't have a sim but I have an old PlayStation you're more than welcome to use. I think I still have one or two games."
"That won't keep me busy."
"I'm sure you'll find something. Just stay out of trouble okay? I'd like to get my security deposit back when I finally move out of this hellhole."
"Okay," Pierre grumbles, sitting up to give you a quick kiss. "What time are you getting back?"
"Four. We can go out to dinner or something." You smooth a hand over his hair, smiling lightly. "Or we can go for a picnic and take a walk through Saint James Park."
"Sounds like a plan." He turns his head to kiss your palm. "I'll be counting down the minutes."
You roll your eyes but your smile contradicts the sass. "I'll be home before you know it. Love you, champion."
"I love you too, mon coeur."
He was endlessly grateful for how easily the two of you had fallen back into each other. When he had shown up at your doorstep he had expected there to be awkward pauses and minutes of tense silence, but there had been blissfully little of either. As the days bleed into each other, your relationship only gets steadier, closer and closer to what it used to be. Maybe it was because you had been the one to break the silence or maybe it was because he had thrown himself into his career into someone's bed- whatever the reason, it didn’t matter. He was simply grateful to be welcomed back into your life. He didn't plan on leaving any time soon.
Pierre allows himself a half hour of lounging in bed before forcing himself to get up and shower. Off weeks were hard; all he wanted to do was rest and recharge but he still had to follow his workout regimen and sleep schedule or he risked falling out of the habit, making it that much harder to get back in the groove come race week.
First order of business: clean the clutter you had shoved in closets and the spare room prior to his arrival the day before. Folding the three baskets of clean laundry took an hour, washing dishes another thirty minutes, and vacuuming the entire flat took twenty. Once the counters are spotless and there isn’t a stray sock to be found, he takes stock of your pantry and notes what staples you were running low on.
Two hours later he trudges back up the three flights of stairs to your apartment, arms laden with reusable bags packed to the gills with food. His legs burn and he's slightly winded from the excursion; at least that could count as his work out for the day.
He's just about to start slicing vegetables for dinner when his phone chimes with a text from his PR agent, Sylvie.
You're supposed to be in an interview now. Where are you?
"Oh shit." He scrambles for his laptop which of course was dead. He manages to plug it in at the dining room table and angle it so the background is mostly neutral, just a band poster framed behind him. He checks his hair before logging into the interview.
"There's the star," the interviewer says, far too chipper to be entirely genuine.
"Sorry, I was having connection issues." He queues up his signature sweetheart smile that gets him out of any squabbles. It works, the woman's irritation melting into a more easy expression.
"Let's just get right into it. Since we're low on time I'll jump right in, if you don't mind."
Pierre leans back. He had an inkling where this was headed. "By all means, please."
"We just saw news of your deal with Christian Horner- if you take seventh in this year's drivers championship, it looks like you're at Red Bull Racing next year. How does that feel after being publicly demoted mid-season in 2019?"
A smirk tugs at Pierre's lips. He had known this exact question was coming. He had debated how to answer it without starting waves and still remaining truthful. If there was one thing he prided himself on, it was his ability to be diplomatic when others may have let their egos get in the way.
"Obviously I'm grateful that Red Bull has recognized the hard work I've been putting in at Alpha Tauri," he starts. "I think I've been able to push the car as far as I can but I still have pace in me, personally. So moving into the Red Bull would let me loose, so to speak, and give me a chance to prove that Red Bull is where I belong."
"Right, you have had quite a spectacular season so far with a race win under your belt and a few podiums for good measure. What do you attribute that success to? Why is it so different now in an Alpha Tauri versus that coveted second Red Bull seat?"
Pierre purses his lips. The answer he was expected to give wasn't one he was willing to voice. Instead he opts for neutral. "I've been able to focus and hone my driving this season. I've found a groove that works for me and with it has come an insane amount of confidence, which is something I struggled with for awhile after going back to Torro Rosso. I think it's really just that I'm finally comfortable in the car and with my team and that makes a huge difference."
"Thank you for that," the journalist says and Pierre nods. "Shifting gears, I have a few questions about your personal life if you don't mind."
This was the part he always dreads. Questions were often prying and he had to subtly skirt around them in a way that offered a satisfying answer without giving away too much. It was an art he liked to think he had perfected over the years but still didn't enjoy.
"As long as you don't mind me staying silent if I don't want to answer."
The woman laughs, the sound sharp and grating. "Of course. Unless I can bribe you into giving me an exclusive."
"Likely not. But you ask the right questions and we'll see."
"You've been seen hanging around a certain London neighborhood lately- that wouldn't have anything to do with you and your lovely lady, would it?"
He had been waiting for that one, too. When the two of you had returned from Red Bull headquarters he had noticed the man taking pictures across the street. He hadn't said anything to you at the time because really, there was no point in getting you worked up when he had a plan to handle it.
The question played right into his hand, in fact.
Pierre sits forward, folding his hands in front of him. "Actually yes. We recently got back together and if you'll let me, I would like to make a request."
The woman leans back and checks her notes. "Well it's not quite what I had planned but please," she gives a flourish with a hand, "you have the floor."
"I know driver's personal lives are something that a lot of people are interested in and that's great. I don't mind sharing things with my fans or letting them get the inside scoop, but there's some things I would rather be left alone. My relationship is one of them. I know you all took note that she hasn't been around the past couple months and if I'm being honest, it's because of comments and press coverage that invaded her privacy. I think some people forgot she was more than just a name on a screen."
Pen poised to take notes, the interviewer prompts, "You said you had a request?"
He doesn’t stop to assess the damage he had already undoubtedly done. Sylvie was probably already on the phone doing damage control with every news outlet she could get her hands on, if her muted and black square at the bottom of the screen was an indication.
"All I'm asking is that you leave her alone. If you have questions or comments you have to make, just direct them at me. Don't follow her around asking about me. Don't comment on her posts unless you're capable of being a decent human. Just… let her live her life in peace."
Maybe he was a love sick fool, but honestly he didn't care if he lost some support from fans. If they had such strong opinions on his personal life, he would be better off without them anyway. And his team could cut him and even if he was unable to secure a seat in Formula 1 after next season, he would survive.
But if he lost you again, he would be broken. It had taken being apart from you for him to realize it and he'd be damned if he was ever disconnected from you like that again.
"That's quite the speech."
Pierre shrugs. "It was. She's the most important thing in my life, right up there with racing.” Now that he had started down the road of truth, he found it impossible to hold his tongue. “I lost her once because people couldn't be bothered to remember that their words have consequences. I won't let it happen again."
"So you see yourself with her for a long time then?" The woman's eyes glitter with the potential of getting an even juicer tidbit from him.
Pierre’s jaw sets, muscles feathering. "That's not something I'm prepared to discuss."
The woman purses her lips and tips her head to the side. There was clearly more she wanted to say. "Well, I have to thank you for what you've given me here. My boss is gonna love the exclusive. I won't push any further. Thanks for your comments, Pierre."
"Thanks for actually being respectful."
“We aren’t all monsters.” The woman shrugs. “I can’t say I haven’t had my moments but I try to be straightforward.”
“Right, yeah. I get that you have a job to do.”
“Anyway. I look forward to seeing what you can do the rest of this season. Good luck.”
He signs off and instantly anxiety washes over him. If she twisted his words he was screwed. Sylvie would be on the phone as soon as the article was printed, no doubt trying to soothe sponsors and investors. She'd give him an earful about being respectful and not poking the bear but he'd tune it out like he always did.
The sooner he got away from Red Bull, the better.
Instead of dwelling on it he busies himself with cooking. It was one of his guilty pleasures. He always requested a full kitchen when he was staying anywhere more than a few days so that if he had the chance to make a home-cooked meal, he had the option. For tonight he had selected his favorite recipe. Parmesan-Cesar chicken wasn't normally something you would ever touch with a ten foot pole but as long as he was making it, Pierre knew you'd at least give it a try.
Music blasting in the background, Pierre sings along quietly as he unpacks the rest of the ingredients and gets to work. He does a little spin between the island and the sink, rinsing the dishes and putting them right in the dishwasher as he uses them. A clean kitchen is the mark of a great chef, his mom had told him, drilling the phrase into him when he was young.
In the middle of cutting potatoes Pierre gets a call. He only has an hour until you're home so he doesn't bother stopping, just puts it on speaker and continues measuring spices.
"Hey Daniel."
"Heard you're in London," Daniel says, Australian accent thick. "And a little birdie told me you and your lady got back together."
"We did," Pierre says, a smile splitting his face. "Finally."
"Thank god, now I don't have to listen to your drunk woe-is-me rambling anymore."
Pierre laughs and sets aside the measuring spoons. "It's not that bad."
"Oh please." Pierre could practically hear the eyes rolling. "The number of times I had to send an uber to a bar after a grand prix is insane. Charles and I should be entitled to financial compensation with the amount of babysitting we've been doing."
"I can handle myself!"
"Not after a martini you can't."
He was right there. "Is there a point to this conversation?"
"Oh right- I'm actually in town today too, got some stuff to shoot for McLaren before we head to Austria for the race next week. You guys wanna come out with us tonight? We're heading to a bar or two."
"I actually had something planned-"
"She already said she's coming!" Dan's girlfriend shouts in the background.
“Well then why even ask me?”
“To be polite,” Daniel offers with a laugh. “We’re meeting at the rooftop bar at the Trafalgar hotel at seven. That give you enough time to do whatever you had planned that’s apparently more important than seeing your best mates?”
“We’ll be there,” Pierre says and hangs up. He finishes seasoning the potatoes and pops them in the oven, finally getting a chance to sit while they cook alongside the main course.
He's on his feet a few minutes later, decluttering the last bits of mess around your flat. It was clear it hadn't had a decent cleaning in quite awhile- hopefully you'd keep it tidy now that the effort had been made. The guys would tease him endlessly if they found out he was acting like a housewife.
You arrive home just as he’s setting the table. “God, it smells amazing in here.”
“Salut, mon amour.” Hands full with hot dishes, he settles for a kiss to your cheek. “I made dinner.”
“And you cleaned,” you observe. “You were a busy boy.”
“Pyry would kill me if he found out I was laying around all day. I had to do something.”
You hang your backpack on the hook behind the door and take a seat at the table. “Well remind me to thank him again when I see him. This looks delicious.”
Pierre grins over his shoulder at you. “Me or the food?”
You throw your head back and laugh, loud and unrestrained. “The food, you goof.”
Pierre quirks a brow. "Is that the honest answer?"
"Okay, maybe both."
The meal is filled with your ramblings about your exam and your new hobby- this month it was hiking. You went into detail about all the few trails in the city you’d been on as well as the more challenging ones that dotted the countryside. Pierre just nods along as you talk, already planning on staying up late to learn what he could about the topic so he could be a better conversation partner.
The pair of you work together to tidy the kitchen and put away any leftovers. “Did you bring something semi nice to wear tonight or do we have to make a quick trip to the store?”
“I’ve got some Tauri stuff I can wear. And not just team gear,” he adds when you groan. “You know that cream sweater you love? The one with the logo debossed on the front? I’ve got that.”
“Oh,” you say before biting your lip. Your eyes trail down his frame and back up like you’re imagining it on him. A tingle travels up his spine under your assessing gaze. If you kept that up, neither of you would make it out of the apartment tonight. “My favorite. Yeah, wear that. It’ll be on my floor by the end of the night.”
Pierre places his hands on your waist and grins. “Will it? And what will be on the floor from your closet, hm?”
“Your favorite dress.”
“The orange one?” He realizes half a second too late that you would never know how much he adored that dress from the gala. It had hugged your curves in all the right places and left your back exposed, which would leave him free to trace patterns on your soft skin whenever he pleased. He had missed out on worshipping you in it that night and he wouldn’t mind the opportunity to do so now.
You roll your eyes. “I can’t wear that to a bar.”
“Says who?” Pierre nuzzles his face against your neck, breathing you in. A light undercurrent of sweat from your walk home from classes mingles with the usual bright scent of you, only serving to rile him up further. Never in a million years would he have guessed that a simple scent could do him in, and yet here he was, completely wrapped up in yours.
“Says me.” You sigh, tipping your head to the side when Pierre’s nose grazes your skin.
His lips follow until he reaches your jaw before he pulls back. “What one are you wearing then?”
“Does it matter?” You cross your arms, the smirk playing on your kissable lips tempting him.
“I have to mentally prepare myself.” And if whatever you chose was too sexy, he would need to get his handsiness out of his system before the pair of you met up with Daniel and his girlfriend. The last thing he needed was to be on the front of some seedy gossip column when his plan was to ease back into it.
You smile up at him, broad and unrestrained as if knowing your answer would affect him greatly. “The cobalt blue one that makes you stutter.”
The dress in question was just as form fitting as the orange one, but shorter and decidedly more distracting. It fell mid thigh and the spaghetti straps left your shoulders exposed, which coupled with the low back displayed a downright sinful amount of skin. You had worn it at a Torro Rosso event a couple years back and he had scarcely been able to get a full sentence out around you all night.
“That one’s a close second.” He follows you to your room, leaving you to hunt through the closet while he digs through his suitcase, thankful that he had the foresight to check out of his hotel on the way back from Red Bull and bring his things here.
Because there was no way in hell he was missing a second of being by your side while he was in town. Every moment had to count when he had no idea when he would be able to sleep next to you again, not when the season was nearly over and there were two double headers between now and winter break. When so many variables stood between him and you, he had no problem prioritizing you over a routine workout or a full night’s rest.
Pierre changes into the sweater and a pair of dark skinny jeans well before you emerge from the bathroom. He doesn’t bother responding to Dan’s text that includes an address and reminds him to be on time, instead opting to scroll through his instagram feed. He likes a handful of posts from his fellow drivers, including one of Max actually smiling at something off camera.
“Well?”
Pierre’s head snaps up at the sound of your voice. The phone falls from his hand when he drags his eyes over your body, head to toe and back again.
Oh, he was so fucked.
Maybe it was selfish, but with your hair done like that, the barest brush of makeup lining your eyes and in that stunningly blue dress, he didn’t want any other man to have the privilege of laying their eyes on you.
No, you were all his.
The moment you’re within reach, Pierre places his hands on the back of your thighs, just beneath the curve of your barely covered ass. You chuckle and tap your fingers under his chin. “Close your mouth; you’ll catch flies.”
“Just so you know, if you wear that dress I can’t be held liable for my actions.” Up to and including scaring off anyone that wasn’t Daniel or his girlfriend. No one else deserved to be blessed with your radiance. Hell, he didn’t deserve it, and yet here you stood.
“We’ll see about that.”
**********
Daniel and his girlfriend had already made their way through a round of drinks by the time you arrive. It wasn’t Pierre’s fault he couldn’t keep his hands off you and wound up getting distracted on the drive over.
"Late as always," she greets, kissing your cheek. "Dan got us here fifteen minutes early because he wanted the table with the best view."
"Like our names wouldn't have gotten us the table if we asked," Pierre says, wrapping Daniel in a one-armed hug before kissing his girl’s cheek in a traditional French greeting. "The view is pretty great though."
You were already leaning on the glass partition, hands curled over the edge and undoubtedly leaving behind fingerprints on the pristine surface, completely unfazed by the fact that the other patrons were staring. You had eyes only for the London skyline and Trafalgar square lit up below. The bar with its white marble tabletops and strict dress code was absolutely not a place that you should be standing on your tiptoes for a better view, but there was no way he could condemn you when your face lit up like that.
Pierre just places a hand on the small of your back and shoots a look at the bartender currently glaring in your direction, daring the smartly dressed man to say anything. He only raises a brow and resumes filling drink orders.
"You guys know how to pick a place," you say, "I could stand here all night."
"Right," Daniel's girlfriend says, rolling her eyes at Pierre who shrugs as if to say what do you want me to do? He was powerless to deny you anything that brought you a semblance of joy; your smile was everything to him. “Love, why don’t you come tell us about uni? You’re the only one of us currently enrolled, and I’m sure the boys would love to hear about all the drama.”
You and Pierre share a secret grin. You shake your head but allow him to guide you back to the cocktail table. “Drama? I’m an engineering major. The closest thing we have to drama is someone grossly miscalculating a structural load.”
Dan shoots Pierre a mischievous grin. “I heard Stroll might be moving next year-”
Both you and Daniel’s girlfriend groan at the same time. “No racing talk when we’re around tonight,” she says. “I’ve heard enough lately.”
“What’s new in the publishing world?” You ask, leaning into Pierre when he wraps an arm around you. He only half listens to her explain the so-called “top secret” project she’s currently working on, instead opting to get drunk on you.
The light breeze filtering through the surrounding buildings ruffles your hair. You lift a hand absentmindedly to tuck it behind your ear in an attempt to keep it out of your face. Everything you do is amazing to him, snagging his attention even when he should be listening to whatever it was his friends were saying. Your gravity was simply too strong to bother resisting.
“Enough talk,” Daniel’s girlfriend says, waving a hand. “You need a drink, and I want to dance. Let’s go.” Before Pierre can protest, she’s dragging you away to the glass top bar. You throw an apologetic glance over your shoulder and Pierre just winks. He was fine watching you from afar for now.
Pierre’s gaze drops to your perky ass when you lean in to let the bartender know what you want, likely shouting to be heard over the music, your dress riding up a bit with the movement. For having such a strict dress code, this place sure did feel like an upper class club.
You hook your thumb over a shoulder, the bartender’s gaze darting to Pierre before the man nods. The only explanation you offer is a wink, followed by a note on a cocktail napkin and a beer delivered a few minutes later by a server.
This is supposed to be the best beer they have. Just try it.
Leave it to you to constantly push him outside his comfort zone. Pierre tentatively sniffs the foamy glass and shrugs before taking a sip. Not bad, but he still preferred his usual whiskey.
Setting the glass down, Pierre turns back to Daniel. “Congrats on extending your contract with McLaren by the way. Should give you a decent shot at keeping up with the big boys and landing some serious points.”
“Seems like most of us are moving around, doesn’t it? Sainz to Ferrari, Seb to Aston Martin... The only one with any sort of long term commitment is Max and now me I guess.”
“And Charles,” Pierre adds. “He’s stuck in that red monstrosity for the foreseeable future.”
Daniel laughs, taking a swig from his glass. “And you’re moving too, huh? Austria should be interesting,” Daniel remarks, watching the girls at the bar nursing their own drinks. “What with the news of your new contract breaking and all.”
“Potential contract,” Pierre corrects. “Not for sure yet.”
Daniel scoffs. “Come on mate. You won’t have any problem getting up to seventh by the end of the season. Perez is slipping and the news that his seat is in jeopardy will only help your cause.”
Pierre takes a sip of his amber beer and nods. “I’m sure Perez doesn’t appreciate it, but he’s always been a good sport.” You catch Pierre’s eye and lift your fresh flute of champagne in a mock salute. Dan’s girlfriend drags you out on the dancefloor and immediately spins you. Your laugh is nearly audible, the memory of it fresh in Pierre’s mind as he watches you.
“Mate, have you been listening to a word I’ve said?”
“I’m sorry, what?”
Daniel shakes his head and drains his drink. “I really don’t know how it took you two this long to come together. You’ve been dancing around each other for years but neither of you would admit it.”
“I could say the same about you two.”
Daniel shrugs. “Fair point. At least we got it all worked out in a weekend though.”
Pierre rolls his eyes and shoves his friend’s shoulder. “Whatever. Not all of us can have a perfect love story.”
The grin Daniel shoots Pierre is pure sunshine. “How long are you planning on waiting before you ask her to marry you?”
“What?” Pierre sputters, nearly choking on air. “Who said anything about marriage?”
“Oh come on,” Dan says, rolling his eyes. “We all know it’s coming eventually.”
Pierre would be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about it. But he wasn’t sure if it was the time for a proposal, not when you had just gotten back together. The last thing he wanted to do was go through the pain of losing you again because he was too forward.
“One day at a time,” Pierre says finally, dragging himself back to earth. “I just got her back a few days ago. I don't want to scare her off by proposing just yet.”
“Right. Well you might want to get a ring on that hand sooner rather than later,” Daniel notes, gesturing to the two men who had approached the girls. “How long are we gonna let that go on before we step in?” Neither of you paid the men any attention, instead enjoying each other’s company, but the men’s eyes roaming over your body sets Pierre on edge.
“They can handle themselves,” Pierre remarks, shifting on his feet. The weak attempt at self assurance didn’t do much to negate the red tinting his vision. “They’re fine.”
“Her sharp tongue will hold them at bay,” Daniel says, winking at his girlfriend. “For a while at least.” Props to Daniel for possessing inhuman amounts of restraint, but Pierre’s muscles were coiled and ready to interject at the first sign of trouble.
He has to pause to remind himself he doesn't own you. You could make your own decisions about who you spoke with and who you entertained as long as he was the one to take you home. He didn't care if you wanted to flirt; he knew it meant nothing and if you got a free drink out if it then so be it. But those were the rules: flirting, no touching. He'd step in if need be if someone took it too far.
But that didn't mean he had to enjoy it.
Pierre watches tight lipped as you politely chat with the man, your body language closed off and dismissive. Pierre hates that you even speak a word to him. He knows it shouldn’t bother him because he trusts you, but the stranger is a wild card. Pierre watches like a hawk as the man inches ever closer, slowly interesting himself into your personal space. He waits for you to take a step back, to grant him that silent permission to come over and insert himself in the conversation and get his hands on you, this proving you weren't on the market.
One of the men shouts something at you over the music and you leer back at him, clearly disgusted at whatever he had said. Whirling on him, you open your mouth, likely to snap out a profanity lined retort, when his hand latches onto your arm.
"Oh, fuck no."
Half a second later, Pierre is stalking across the dance floor, no thoughts other than teaching the asshole a lesson. His hands are already curled into fists, ready to swing if the man hadn't moved by the time he arrived. Tolerating someone hitting on you was one thing, but blatantly ignoring the clear dismissals and laying a hand on you? No way in hell was he standing by and letting that happen.
The resounding crack of your open hand hitting the man’s face has pride swelling in Pierre’s chest. That’s my girl. You’d solved the problem before he’d even arrived. You jab a finger in the man’s face, Daniel’s girlfriend right there with you to back you up.
“Fuck off,” you were saying as Pierre approached, “or do you need to go back to kindergarten and learn to keep your hands to yourself? Maybe next time you’ll think twice before laying a hand on a taken woman- or any woman, for that matter.”
Driving your point home, Pierre slips an arm around your waist and pulls you in until your back is flush to his chest. You crane your neck up, the tense muscles beneath his fingertips and the fury contorting your features confirming just how rattled you are.
The lines creasing your brow are soothed away when you realize who holds you. You open your mouth to say something but Pierre places a hand on your throat, thumb and forefinger framing your jaw as he cuts you off with a kiss, his eyes locked on the guy still standing off to the side holding his cheek.
You taste like the champagne you’d been sipping all night. It’s the only thought in his head outside of the jealousy licking through his veins like wildfire as he claims you then and there in front of the crowd. Mine, his heart sings. He flexes his fingers, taking advantage of your surprised gasp to slide his tongue against yours. Mine, mine, mine.
Pierre lets you be the one to break away, lips curling in a smug, kiss-swollen smile as you address the men. “In case you still don’t get the picture, I’m not interested. And neither is she.” You jerk your chin, indicating your friend and Daniel, who had indeed followed Pierre and since mirrored his possessive stance, one arm wrapped tightly around his own girlfriend.
The two men reluctantly slink away after mumbling something unintelligible but undoubtedly indecent. It had been a week and a half since he had been on track and he had plenty of pent up aggression to get out. He didn’t normally opt for using someone’s face as a punching back as a stress reliever, but rulers were made to be broken. Your hand splayed on Pierre’s chest is all that stops him from following and asking them to repeat themselves.
“Just let me hit him,” Pierre says, voice far more level and put together than he had expected it to be. “Just one punch. That’s all I would need.” His knuckles smart like he had already connected them to the man’s face.
“And let you throw away your contract? I don’t think so. The last thing you need is a blurry photo of you knocking someone’s teeth in hitting the front page of every gossip mag in the country. I’m fine, so you can cut the bravado.”
“Yeah, I hear you.”
“I was wondering how long you were gonna leave us out here,” you say, trying to regain Pierre’s attention. When it doesn’t work, you grasp his stubbled chin and force him to look at you. “I didn’t expect to be stranded for so long.”
The eye contact is what finally calms his racing thoughts. Seeing the trust reflected in your face is enough to have his grip on your waist loosening to allow you to face him. “Someone convinced me you could fend for yourself. And while it seems that’s true, I couldn’t stand it anymore.”
Your satisfied hum is swallowed by the pounding bass but Pierre feels it rumble in his chest. “Sometimes even a queen needs saving.”
Though his point had long since been proven, Pierre’s hand slides down your back to rest on your ass nonetheless. “I knew you going out looking like this would cause trouble.”
You tip your head to the side, feigning innocence as you press your hips to his. You grin, noticing the hard on that had been bothering him all night. “Looking like what?”
“Drop dead fucking gorgeous,” he says, accentuating his point by sliding his hand up your thigh and under the hem of your dress. “You know I’m tearing this off you the second we get home, right?”
“Why do you think I wore it?”
The sound that escapes him is primal and possessive. The presence of bystanders does nothing to prevent him from palming your ass and kneading the flesh. He presses his lips to your neck and mumbles between kisses, “To torture me.”
You push lightly at his chest, laughing although your eyes dart around the space in search of cameras. Old habits were hard to break. “That may have been part of my motivation. But you’ll have to wait. I haven’t seen Dan in forever and I would actually like to have a conversation with him before we sneak off somewhere.”
At least you knew he wouldn’t be able to wait until you got home to get between your legs. “Fine,” he grumbles, hands settling on your hips. “Only because I love you.”
You beam up at him. “Love you too.”
Arm still slung around your waist, Pierre nods at Daniel and follows the other couple back to the table.
After two more drinks, you and Daniel's girlfriend are singing along to the music in lilting, off key voices, simply enjoying the night air. A stray breeze catches your hair just as you turn to look at Pierre and his heart damn near leaps out of his chest.
To his credit, Pierre’s cheeks are rosy from more than just the charged glances you throw at him as the night wears on. He was on his fourth beer, far more than he usually drank these days, and the buzzing in his head was becoming increasingly hard to ignore. When he has to squint to tell the time on his watch, he figured that was enough.
"I should probably get going mate," Pierre says, turning to Daniel. "Early flight."
Daniel laughs and beacons for the girls. He kisses his girlfriend's cheek when she returns with you in tow. "Are we leaving already?" You pout, and Pierre had half a mind to stay simply have your smile make an encore appearance.
"Car coming," he murmurs, dipping his head to give you a proper kiss. God, you were stunning in that dress- he might not be able to string together words coherently, but he knew that much.
"Fine." You cross your arms for a split second to convey your feelings on the matter before wrapping your friends in a hug and saying your goodbyes.
Pierre's hand is already on your ass before you're in the uber. Get a few drinks in the boy and he let his guard down. You laugh and pull out of his embrace to usher him into the sleek black suv. If he had been coherent, he probably would have chatted with the driver about the specs of the engine or maybe even racing if he was a fan. Instead the ride is filled with stolen touches and sloppy, wet kisses to your neck.
"I can't wait till we're home," he mumbles. "You're gorgeous. How did I snag you? You're so far out of my league. No way should you be with me."
"I have a thing for guys that go fast in circles on the weekends."
"Really?" Pierre frowns. "Should I be worried?"
"No. You're the only one I have eyes for." His head is fuzzier than when you left the bar but your laugh breaks through, his stomach flipping at the melody of it. "And we are home."
Pierre blinks, realizing he does indeed stand in your kitchen, with no recollection of climbing the three flights of stairs between the street and your flat. "Oh. When did that happen?"
"After I half dragged you up the stairs." You bend over to undo the straps of your heels, giving him the perfect view. He lets out a whistle that ends in a hiccup.
"Take me to bed, lover," he says in what he thinks is a husky voice. It should be impossible for you to resist.
You roll your eyes and wrap an arm around his middle. "That's the plan. I'll take you to bed, strip you out of that sweater, and you'll be asleep before your head hits the pillow."
"Nnnnnno," he protests, hand sliding down your exposed back to settle at the base of your spine. "I wanna make the most of tonight. I leave tomorrow."
"You don't leave until noon," you point out. "Plenty of time to nurse your hangover and have fun before then, after you drink some water and get some sleep."
"But baby-"
"No buts. Do as I say or I'll send you off tomorrow without a goodbye kiss."
Even in his half drunken state he knew it was a swiss cheese lie, spotted with holes and completely stale. You'd never let him leave without a kiss goodbye because neither of you knew if it would be the last time. He was a race car driver after all, and that came with risks.
But he sighs anyways and slips off the cream sweater, letting it fall to the floor. At least one of you kept their promises.
After confirming he was settled into bed, you retreat to the bathroom. His heart aches at the absence, even though you're mere feet away with nothing but a thin door separating the two of you. He registers the sound of the tap turning on and your soft, off key humming of the last song he remembered hearing before getting out of the uber.
"Mon amour," he croons when you re-emerge in a set of silk pajamas. He reaches out his hands for you and you slide under the covers, immediately slotting your body against his. A leg hitches over his hip, tugging him closer until your middles touch.
"Mmm," he mumbles, nuzzling into your neck. "Je t'aime. Tu es l'amour de ma vie et nous vivons d'amour et d'eau fraîche."
"I have no idea what you're saying," you whisper, running your fingers through his hair. "But I like it. Feel free to keep going."
"Tes baisers sont du feu et je fond à ton toucher." He presses his lips to your neck before resuming his mumbled French. "Je pense toujours à toi. Je veux être avec toi pour toujours. Tu as mon cœur et je ne voudrais pas qu'il en soit autrement."
"I like the sound of that." You press a soft, sweet kiss to his forehead. God, that tenderness was why he loved you. That, and your personality, and your eyes, and your… everything. "Dormir, my love. I'll be here to listen to your pretty words in the morning."
The single word of his mother tongue on your lips has him smiling. "Oui, tu le feras. Parce que tu es à moi et je suis à toi."

***********
5 months.
5 months since I've seen Tom.
He's been in Atlanta for filming Spider-Man No Way Home and at Christmas he spent time with his family before going back.
I hadn't seen him in so long. Facetiming and phone calls could never come close to the feeling of being with him. It feels like such an alien thing now, even thinking about us spending time together. Like it's something of the past...
We tried to call every day but that became difficult as Toms only day off is Monday and I'm working and the time difference. Everything just seems so difficult and forced. But we still do it. Because we want to see and talk to each other but it's just so exhausting with the time difference.
I'd wake up earlier to call and say good morning and I'd end up staying up late on Facetime with him. So my sleep schedule was completely messed up, along with all the emotions that come with a long distance relationship. Then it's heightened even more because Tom is famous and tabloids follow him everywhere. The recent buzz for Cherry has had people asking about his love life - or rather our love life but they don't know we're together. No one apart from our friends and family do.
I missed him. I really missed him. It hurts my heart every time he posts to Instagram or I see interviews from him.
We had scheduled a Facetime for tonight. It was 10pm for me and 6pm for him. Not too bad.
I was absolutely knackered so I was just getting ready for bed when my phone started ringing.
I grinned, picking the phone up and answering the call.
"Hey, handsome." I giggled at the phone screen, sitting it up on my dresser as I got changed.
"Hey, darling. How are you?" He asked, placing a forkful of pasta into his mouth.
He was in his signature pink hoodie with a baseball cap on backwards. His phone was rested against something on his dinner table and I watched as he ate his tea.
"I'm good. Tired but good. How about you? How was work?" I asked, taking some makeup wipes out.
"Oh, sorry baby." He pouted.
"No, no, it's okay. M'used to it." I laughed lightly.
He furrowed his brows slightly as I wiped my makeup off.
"y/n."
I looked at him. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry-
"I love you." He said with a slight smile.
Don't cry, don't cry-
"I love you too, babe. I miss you." I swallowed, trying to keep the lump of sobs from bursting out.
"I miss you, too. It's been 5 months since we've seen each other. I left for Atlanta 5 months ago today." He sighed, taking another forkful of food.
I took a deep breath, throwing the makeup wipes into the bin, "It's been so long."
"I know, darling, I know. But..."
He reached over the table. I heard papers shuffle and I quirked a brow as I got into bed, only my bedside lamp giving me a warm light. I snuggled into my blankets, propping my phone against a pillow.
"I just happened to be coming to London next Friday." He said nonchalantly, fiddling with a plane ticket.
My eyes widened and I stared at my phone screen.
"Y-you're kidding." I felt my heart rate rise.
He grinned, "Nope. Filming finishes next week. I'm coming to you next Friday, love."
I gasped, sitting up and squealing into the phone.
"Oh my god! I can't believe it! We're going to see each other! For real!" I exclaimed.
"For real." He laughed.
"Oh my fucking god...well, I don't know how you expect me to sleep or work until then." I smiled widely, settling back into bed.
"I can't wait. Can't wait to see you again." He bit his lip.
I raised a brow, "Can't wait to see what part of me?"
He laughed, "Hmm, I'll leave that to your imagination. But I'd definitely call your work and tell them you won't be able to come in the whole week because your legs will be too sore."
I spluttered a laugh and got myself flustered.
God, it had been so long since we touched...
"I can't wait to fuck you again." He said lowly.
I widened my eyes, "Are Racheal and Harry not there?" I hissed.
He shook his head, "Racheal's not here and Harry's working in his room."
I shifted onto my side to face him completely.
"Okay then...if you want to fuck me so bad...tell me what you'll do to me when you get here."
***
It was the next night. Friday. Finally. Tom had said he wouldn't be able to call tonight because he was on set all day. I was fine with that, though. Last night was an extremely heated Facetime call.
I went into work and sat at my desk, staring at a blank word document just wishing words would start typing themselves onto the page. My mind was somewhere else. It was with Tom. I didn't sleep much last night as it was an eventful night so I was absolutely knackered by the time I got home from work.
I managed to stay awake long enough to make myself some mac and cheese. I managed one episode of friends, I ate my dinner and I snuggled on my couch, stripping my jeans and top off to leave me comfortably in my underwear with blankets draped over me. I didn't particularly mean to fall asleep at 7pm on a Friday night. It just happened.
-
Toms POV
"Good luck, mate. Have fun." Harrison laughed cheekily on the phone as I entered y/n's flat building.
"Div. Bye." I chuckled, ending the call.
I hyped myself all the way up to y/n's flat. I looked at myself in my phone camera to check how I looked. I couldn't hear anything from inside but I knew she was in. The bouquet of flowers in my hand kept crinkling loudly and I tried to shut them up seeing as it was midnight.
I could feel some jet lag already hitting me but the nerves and excitement completely cancelled it out.
I was surprising her. Filming finished a few days ago, not next week. I had everything planned out. And she had no idea.
I took a few deep breaths and sat my suitcase and bag down. I lifted a hand to her door and hesitantly knocked. Adrenaline rushed through me.
She was going to open the door and we'd have the best moment, then we'd kiss and then...
She wasn't answering the door. Her car was outside and it was midnight so she should be in.
I gritted my teeth anxiously and knocked again.
Still nothing.
I looked around in slight panic, not knowing what to do. But then I tried her door handle. It opened.
I'll have to tell her to lock it next time, I reminded myself before opening the door slowly. The flat was quiet, only the sound of traffic coming in from the open windows filled the room. I wheeled my suitcase and bag in quietly then shut the door behind me equally so.
I walked further into the flat and that's when I finally saw her. And why I finally saw why she wasn't answering the door.
y/n was curled up on the couch, blankets sprawled across her basically naked body and the couch. Her hair lay messy on top of her head and her mouth hung open slightly as she slept.
My heart filled with love and joy as I watched her. 5 months since I had seen her and she was like this. In her most perfect form. Natural and messy and cute but also hot because the underwear she was wearing and the fact I hadn't seen her body in nearly half a year made me nearly get a full hard on.
I walked closer to her, placing the bouquet of flowers next to her abandoned bowl of mac and cheese. I caught a glimpse of the TV.
Are you still watching?
I smiled and turned back to her, kneeling to come face to face with her. I could smell her signature perfume and it made my heart swoon so massively.
I smiled uncontrollably as I reached my hand to her cheek, brushing my fingers over her skin. I missed her skin on mine. I brushed some of her hair behind her ear and then cupped her cheek softly, rubbing my thumb back and forth to gently awaken her.
y/n POV
I felt a hand on my face, a thumb delicately brushing my cheek. It felt familiar and suddenly I could smell something that made my heart ache. Whatever it was smelled like Tom. Like his natural scent mixed with his usual aftershave.
"y/n..."
I heard my name being whispered. I hummed and nuzzled into the pillow more, enjoying whatever dream about Tom I was having. His hand was warm on my face and it was like it was really there.
"y/n, darling..."
Mmm, the nickname. I missed his voice.
"Love...you awake?"
I furrowed my brows. What? Tom didn't say that in my dream. I felt myself being brought back into consciousness gradually and the heat and weight of a hand on my face was very much there, along with the prominent smell and the literal presence of someone.
I slowly opened my eyes, blurry at first but then everything came into view.
Tom.
He was kneeling in front of the couch, his hand still stroking my cheeks, his face in a soft but wide smile, his skin tanned and glowing but the bags under his eyes were visible.
"T-Tom?" I stuttered in a whisper.
Was I dreaming? Was I hallucinating? I mean, I had been thinking about him a lot and I was exhausted so it made sense.
"Hey, darling," He chuckled softly.
"I- what the- are you- what?"
My eyes were heavy, my voice was quiet, in fear of it breaking and I was so incredibly confused.
"Surprise." He chuckled, tucking a hair behind my ear.
I blinked a few times to clear my vision and I saw a tear run down his cheek.
He was here.
"Tom," I whispered, grabbing him and pulling him into me, my arms wrapping around his neck.
He held me just as tightly around my waist. His skin was on mine. He was here. He was actually here. We were actually touching.
He slowly pulled me off the couch and onto the floor with him, welcoming me onto his lap. I wrapped my legs around him and nuzzled my face into his neck. I fisted his light jacket, trying to get a hold of every part of him.
Suddenly it was as if every emotion I felt in the past five months came flooding to the surface. Sadness, hopelessness, excitement, happiness, love. His hands wrapped completely around my waist, holding me flush to his chest. I felt tears tickle down my face but I didn't care.
His face was nuzzled into my neck, too. He moved a hand up to cradle the back of my head when he realised I was crying. I was actually sobbing. Audibly. But so was he now.
We both pulled away at the same time then immediately crashed our lips together. A new wave of tears pooled into my eyes. He tasted good. He tasted like him. Minty and perfect. I ran my fingers up and into his hair. God I missed his hair.
Our tongues pushed into each others and we both moaned slightly, revelling in the feeling of one another again.
He was here.
We pulled away breathlessly and stared into each other's eyes. I cupped his face and he did mine. I wiped the tears from his face, he wiped the tears from mine.
"I missed you so much." I croaked.
"I missed you too, darling."
"Please just promise me you'll never do that again. I can't live without you for that long again. I can't." I half-joked.
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying here with you." He rested his forehead against mine.
"I'm home." He whispered.
I sobbed happy cries at his words. He suddenly pulled away and brought his phone out, shakily going onto Spotify and playing 'Home' by Caite Turner, turning it all the way up.
"Dance with me." He whispered.
I stood off of him and he joined me. He held my hand and twirled me around, inspecting my body.
"I feel so naked," I laughed.
He shed his jacket off and then he pulled his t-shirt over his head. I widened my eyes at him. He had gotten fitter over filming, along with a new tan.
"That's better." I sniffled with a smile.
He brought me into him and held me by my waist with one hand then my hand in his other. I had my free hand on his cheek. I traced up and onto his sun freckles, down his crooked nose and then back to his left eyebrow and down to his jaw then back into his hair.
He leaned his head down and encased my lips in his. It was soft and breathless. One of those kisses you wish you had a picture of to capture the moment. I missed kissing him. Our lips slotted together perfectly like they were made for each other.
He slowly pulled away and we rested our heads against each other's, still swaying in time to the music.
"You're my home, y/n." He whispered.
I closed my eyes, feeling a few tears escape my eyes.
"Wherever you are is home to me. I can't be without you again." He spoke quietly and shakily, on the verge of another sob.
"I feel the same. I'm going everywhere with you now."
He chuckled lightly and we pulled back. He brushed my hair behind my ear and looked into my eyes with his gorgeous brown ones. I cupped his face and me sighed into my touch.
"I love you." He stated quietly.
"I love you." I replied.
"You're the one, y/n. No questions. I can't fucking live without you."
I felt my chin quiver at his words. I didn't know how to even respond verbally.
I pulled him down to my lips, my tongue slipping into his mouth almost immediately. He hummed and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"You're it, Tom," I whispered between kisses.
He pulled away slightly, our lips just ghosting over one another's.
"You're my home."
