It appears the last two (2)….times I’ve tried creating this post, tumblr thought I was too wordy, so I’m going to attempt to get in and get out before it eats itself again

this playlist (a Dream of the Endless™ character examination via my silly brain and sad ass music) took me entirely too long and I'm going to throw my laptop out of the window if I have to look at it any longer so pls pls take it and I hope that if you listen or even read the lyrics that you find something new, or hear something you like.

~ I wanted.. something big on here. I don't necessarily have a desired order for this to be played in, but this was the last one I added, if that tells you anything. The opening of this song is a little jarring, but the piano is so. beautiful. Son Lux has such a way of composing their music that just leaves me breathless and astounded at the feelings music can bring forward in me, and speaking in Dream terms, I feel like that would be the kind of song he really appreciates. I'm not gonna end this with rambling about the complexity of human emotion, because I don't believe tumblr could handle me doing that - operation-wise, i feel like it's abt to stab me as is- It's also not why I'm here lol. "I will break with you. For your body to be freed and pleased. Take the weight of you, for your gravity to be erased." the rest of that line literally mentions a phantom muse.. I think, viewing this in terms of Morpheus' marriage, and maybe even how he thinks about marriage as a concept is interesting. On Genius they mention that on a Son Lux insta story they talked about the first half of the song being about helping a friend die, and the second half about the birth of Ryan Lott's son. Looking at in that framing is also,,, WHEW.. okay this paragraph has been long enough lmao

#toy txt post #while i was away i began my journey into coffee snobbery. im doing my best. i have a lot to learn #i have a fancy hand grinder that all the ppl on reddit hemmedvand hawed andaid it would probably be somewhat #Acceptable for pour over coffee that I got for less than $100. i want you to understand the coffee grinder ppl are insane. #there are grinders for sale that cost like more than my car did brand new. these ppl are insane? i got a chemex pour over #and a glass stovetop gooseneck kettle cos i couldnt find an electric kettle that didnt have the metal touching the water. prolly cos it #would make them less energy efficient and defeat the purpose but i dont fuck w metal water vessels cos historically They Keep Betraying Me #by making my drinks taste like ass. i got some genetic fuckery going on ig. like the cilantro soap gene but its the metal makes water taste #like ass gene? idk. but i wanted a kettle that didnt have metal and i wanted that gooseneck pour so i found one on Amazon. surprisingly #hard to find? annoying. mostly bc every search engine is bad and kept showing me metal kettles anyway. i got a grinder i got a pour over i #got a kettle i got fancy beans from a local small business i started drinking it black. im going to unlock these flavors. i will get it #but also. im still a goblin. i put garlic powder in with the grounds and made garlic coffee. its interesting. it tastes like garlic. and #coffee. but actually the garlic is mostly an aftertaste? #so it feels very similar to drinking a cup of black coffee to accompany your garlic bread actually. the first time i made it i think it #underextracted the coffee tho. second time i extracted the coffee enough but i didnt like it as much? both times. fascinatingly #i did not get strong aromas! which was weird: i find both garlic and coffee have pretty strong scents already #i wouldve thought combining them would make it stronger? it was a little stronger while brewing the second time but smelled good to me #i find the flavor of it compelling enough that id like to try to refine it a bit more and see if i can make it good #ive come a long way since my first garlic coffee haha #(adding garlic salt to black coffee out of a keurig. dont reccomend this: garlic salt has too much salt and it overpowers everything. #could not get a garlic flavor without overpowering salt flavors. so it mostly tasted like seawater with a hint of coffee. garlic powder is #the way to go. anyway next i want to try it with a lighter roast. i was using medium roast #of a local brand that i would name for exposure but wont name lest it doxxes me haha #also want to try egg coffee sometimes? the vietnamese one. looks..intriguing. robusta beans scare me a little tho #anyway. if youre interested in interesting flavors i recc garlic coffee. it was intriguing. if i find a methodology i think tastes best #ill update yall #im also interested in other things. i want to experiment with spicy coffee. chili powder or cayenne #make the paprika dracula coffee haha #im also admittedly intrigued by butter coffee? as a flavor profile tho not for fad diet reasons.

(It's Isabeau's Birthday today.)

You remember because Mirabelle and them had all gathered together to discuss it when Isabeau was out elsewhere. You all came together a week before and talked about getting gifts for Isa's special day.

And so here you are all at this rental lakeside house for the next few days. Floralbreeze Lake is the name of this place, named after windy weather and with all of the flowers that always grew all year. A perfect, serene place for any occasion. The house rent price was 50 but as Saviors of Vaugarde, they were given a pass for their saving everyone quest. The owner's way of gratitude for saving the world.

Everyone's here in the big living room which shares space with the kitchen and a fire place. Isabeau is sitting at the wooden countertop with Bonnie, who's a few feet away near the stove, who's busy at cooking up some food for the occasion!

( The scent of cooked veggies and baked fish fills the air. The clanking noise of metal and sizzling of oil.)

There was some baked fish, vegetable stir fry and vegetable beef stew, some drinks and sweets like White Chocolate Mousse and White Chocolate Cake for Isabeau. The white chocolate dishes were Bonnie's gift to Isabeau. Mirabelle sits down next to Bonnie and Odile takes the other side, leaving Siffrin to sit at Isabeau's side and Siffrin was more happy to have it this way.

Siffrin watches as Odile takes a slice of baked fish, Mirabelle scoops some stew into a small bowl and Bonnie takes a small serving of stir fry, Isabeau gets some of fish and Siffrin, himself takes a nice serving of stir fry. They all eventually take portions of all dishes expect for desserts since that's for later. Everyone is occupied with eating and chatting, enjoying the warm, cozy atmosphere.

( Everything tastes so good! As always Bonnie did a great job!)

Bringing another piece of fish to your mouth, and so you chew and savor the flavor. Your fork sinks into a carrot and then into another piece of fish, you eat both, listening into the conversations around you as usual. Mirabelle is happily gushing away about her favorite books with Odile, Bonnie's listening to one of Isabeau's stories as a Defender. You gaze sweeps upon your family members as you finish up your last bits of your meal. You take a sip of water before settling down in your chair. You reach into your pockets, to double check your gift to Isa, a wooden figure of him in his fighting position. Your hands pet against the smooth and carefully carved wood after getting some assurance to clear away your doubts. You put your empty dish to the side to make some room.

Bonnie and Isabeau finish up after you and Odile and Mira do the same sometime after the other two. You and Mira volunteer to gather the dirty dishes while Bonnie and Odile, and Isa put away the leftovers somewhere. You put the three plates and utensils into the sink, Mira puts the remaining dishes along with it. The dishes will be washed later, for now you all have a birthday to celebrate.

Odile and Bonnie bring over the desserts, Isabeau has a excitied and joyful look in his eyes as he sits down again. You put the candles into the cake, Mira is the one to light them up, the cake is pushed closer to Isabeau.

"Happy Birthday Isabeau!" Mirabelle beamed.

"Happy Birthday Za!! Don't forget to make a wish!!" Bonnie rejoiced with their arms in the air.

"Happy Birthday Isabeau." Odile added, adjusting her glasses.

(You breathe in and out. It's your turn.)

"Happy Birthday Isa." You say in a gentle and kind tone.

Isabeau smiles delightfully at everyone, a small hint of blush showing on his cheeks.

"Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. This is the best birthday anyone could ask for!" Isabeau thanked, Isabeau closes his eyes for a few moments before blowing out the candles. A small round of applause and cake is about to be sliced and given out to everyone. Mira is the one to slice the cake, giving Isabeau the slice with extra berries.

Everyone gets a slice of the white chocolate cake eventually. You decide to skip out on this one but you do snag a few berries for yourself from Isabeau and the others. Isabeau also takes the mousse once Bonnie hands one to him.

Presents are next, Bonnie explains that the white chocolate desserts were their gift to Isabeau, Isabeau gives an extra thanks Bonnie for the desserts. Odile pulls out her gift, it's something small and wrapped in simple wrapping paper, Mira's gift seems somewhat big, hidden under slanted lined wrapping paper with a small bow on top.

You reach into your pocket and pull out the wooden figure, and hold it firmly. Isabeau looks around excitedly, he smiles so brightly and his eyes sparkle with delight. Isabeau moves his hands towards to you, you hand over the wooden figure of him. His face shines even brighter at the sight of your gift.

You meet his gaze without tucking away into your cloak or hat. The wood figure of Isabeau is smooth and clean, chipped and carved into perfection with small noticeable details like his earrings, indents for his fist, clothing. Isabeau holds it with great care, a quick glance with a mix of his "fufufu" and "Really" expression over at Odile, and Odile shoots a amused look back.

"Thanks Sif, I love it." Isa murmurs to you with a smile.

Odile goes next, she shoves over her gift across the countertop. "Here you go, Isabeau." Odile stated.

Isabeau grabs it and pulls off the paper, revealing the hidden contents. It's a small wooden sewing kit, with some simple leaf patterns decor within was some threads of different shades, clips and needles and a pair of small scissors with some other sewing materials that you can't remember are called.

"Whoa!!! Thank you Madam!" Isabeau bellowed, a hand examining the sewing contents while the other hand secures your gift. Isabeau scans through the small box, he closes it and gives another thanks as Odile nods and Isabeau puts the box and figure safely to the side.

Mirabelle excitedly gives her gift to Isabeau next. Isabeau rips off the paper, Two books now sit on the countertop. They're new books, all nice and clean in good condition and having that classic new book scent. "Ummm! I hope you like them!" Mira speaks with a grin.

"Ooh! Two new books and they're about romance!! I can't wait to give these two a read when I can!" Isabeau responded with joy and excitement. He flips over the books a few times to get a close look at them. Getting in quick looks as Isabeau flips through the pages. He puts all his gifts together, the books sit besides the sewing box and the Isabeau figure rests upon one of the book covers.

Isabeau signals everyone to come in closer to him for a group hug, Odile gives her amused expression again, Mirabelle's expression glows with delight and Bonnie smiles, arms in the air like they're cheering. Isa looks at you, getting that confirmation from you, you give a nod.

You all come together, Isabeau's arms wrap around all of your family members. Your arms and everyone's arms wrap around Isabeau, everyone embraces with love, care and warmth. Like a cozy warm blanket shielding against the cold. Everyone's happy and everything's good.

i just reread the dbd loveshack tag, and with the ot3 posts and more recent zl/zyx ones, i can’t wait for the four of them to meet all at once, it’ll be wild flailing on all sides for different reasons the rest can’t interpret or vocalize. like, lwj horny gripping for wwx and his unrequited friendship with zyx, and possible jealousy with zl and zyx’s “friendship”. wwx being his disaster self for his two totally-not-crushes crushes and this random interloper. zl annoyed with how touchy wwx is with zyx, plus lwj’s emotional repression. then there’s zyx who has to deal with ALL THREE of them, but completely misses the romantic/jealous/whatever the hell, undertones of the whole thing is just super entertaining for me. bonus points for shuangfeng commentary

lwj: on wwx: yes on horny gripping, that hasn't changed. contention due to possible demonic cultivation pending. on zyx: his friendship w zyx will get deeper, and more entangled due to zyx's developing intimacy w wwx (<- not in an exclusively romantic sense). aka more Emotions and ascribed deep meanings to every little thing. on zl: and you know how lwj fucking drinks that jc haterade, esp with how he treats wwx? he will be sipping a different flavor of haterade when he sees zl again, esp given that the two didn't make the best first impressions on each other.

wwx: on lwj: lwj is someone he admires, and it's complicated depending on the events within the ssc. this crush is one he still doesn't realize. on zyx: crush is realized. oh fucking no, but he can't help himself. + the events that i have planned during the ssc and between these two, it's also a minefield for wwx. on zl: wow, this upstanding, talented, serious guy that he met before is here! of course he's zyx's martial sibling ('wow my exceptional crush would have exceptional peers'). esp with the issue of the wen afterwards, knowing that zl essentially helped wq and wn's family without self-benefit is admirable. oh. huh. he's... he's a prickly guy, but wwx deals with prickly people all the time :)

A/N: This was originally supposed to be a “What MTG color identity would the LiS 1 characters be?” And then I sat down and went “Lmoa no, this is idea way funnier.” and besides parts of that original HC will inevitably bleed through here. I guess really the only fanon “changes” here would be that I’ll be mentioning cards from FAR past 2013 so ig do whatever mental gymnastics you need to do there. Max Caulfield 

you wouldn’t think it because of how genuinely she just appreciates shuffling up, sitting down, and spending time with the other Blackwell nerds, but Max can and will optimize her decks to a fault. 

It’s less about “competitive viability” and more because she just appreciates brewing highly interactive spell-slinger stuff. 

Has a pet Narset extra turns deck. You cannot convince me otherwise. When it pops off, she definitely excitedly texts Chloe about being “a time master in AND out of game”.

The only person on Earth I would smile at and encourage after I hear the phrase “I cast Expropriate for free. Responses?” 

One of those “I’m addicted to R/U please God help me break out of this archetype” people but is somehow adorkable about it 

Will target you if she picks up even the slightest hint that you’re about to Cyclonic Rift and not just because you’re... you know... casting Cyclonic Rift.

Chloe Price

Very much loves jank. Something about the “isle of broken toys” triumphing against whatever monstrosity everyone else brought really appeals to her. 

Loves the idea of certain archetypes, but as long as a given list guarantees that she’s playing lots of cards and doing lots of things on her turns, she’ll mainly just build whatever she thinks is cool. 

As a result, Chloe has run Yuriko and Beckett Brass decks in the past. 

“Come on Max, did you really think I’d pass up being able to beat you all with pirates? You already know I'm ALL over that. Ninjas are hella awesome too.” 

It doesn’t hurt that Yuriko can wipe the floor with everyone if they aren’t careful.

Doesn’t gravitate towards a specific color or color combo but plays aggressively in whatever flavor she finds appealing. 

And I do mean AGGRESSIVELY. Chloe loves the serotonin rush of slapping a ton of guys down and then turning them all sideways even if it leaves her open to dying in the next few turns. 

Even if she doesn’t take things super seriously, she will definitely high-key target you in the next game if you fucked her over in the previous one. 

Kate Marsh

Kate took some convincing that Magic wasn’t some weird ritual since her parents almost certainly forbade her from even learning about it as a kid and filled her head with satanic panic BS.

Once she actually sat in on a game or two (and after Max showed her Rin and Seri), she was able to set her compunctions aside and will show up to game night when her schedule allows.

in the same way Chloe builds what she thinks is cool, Kate definitely builds what she thinks is cute. (*cough* Kwain *cough*)

The first deck she built on her own was almost certainly Jinnie Fay go-wide.

Will cry inside (and honestly maybe a few tears escape on the outside.) if you board wipe. Not because her board presence is gone and she’ll need to rebuild but because you just killed Molly, Holly, Taylor, and every other token she’d given a loving name. 

Warren Graham

Is THAT combo player. An absolute menace. What else were you expecting?

Maybe it’s just my bias against Warren showing here, but he’s definitely the kind of guy who goes “Oops! I win!” out of nowhere after just playing solitaire in the background for 5-6 turns to set up. 

Still keeps some lower power stuff around in case people get too upset about it though.

Much like Chloe, doesn’t really have a preferred color combo. Unlike Chloe, he builds whatever he can optimize to a disgusting degree. 

Usually wins game 1 pretty easily unless Max stops him but going into game 2 understands that he’s consigned himself to playing archenemy for the rest of the night. 

His pet card is probably fuckin’ mana drain or panharmonicon or some shit idk.

OSRR: 2984

PT this morning was just an intake appointment, but i still left forty minutes later sore af because WOW moving my shoulder how it's not supposed to move makes it HURT. who knew?? not me, ig. we scheduled appointments through six weeks, until i go back to the orthopedist next month. until then, i must suffer. then we can get an mri done. then they'll listen to what i have to say. the ligament in my shoulder is loose. i've had doctors acknowledge it verbally and then do nothing besides physical therapy. i can feel it. it fucking hurts. i can't sleep on it. fucking sucks. six years ago when i united my shoulder at work, when it subluxed and bruised the head of the bone, after it was all done and healed and i'd gone for PT, the doctor still said the ligament was kinda loose. well, yes. that's why i have this problem. so fix it, why don't you, and i won't have shoulder pain for the rest of my life. good lord.

anyway.

came back, showered, dressed, went to starbucks, went to work, and was busy like all day. at least i knew going into it i was gonna be busy, so that was fine. when i first went in, i took my meds and i sat down and i tried to get myself organized. kristen came over and so did a student and melissa and i was sitting in my chair, bouncing my leg, talking a mile a minute, and melissa goes, "are you caffeinated?"

i'm like "no, it makes me jittery."

me, thinking: i'm jittery anyway, but ok body

it was funny.

after work i came back and took a nap. i was fuckin exhausted after being up early and having a full day of people.

i napped until about quarter of 8 when i sleepily bumbled out of the room. i stood there as joel made grilled cheese, trying to wake up and decide what i wanted. joel finished up and went downstairs, and i decided i wanted taco bell. so i went and i got some taco bell and my quesadilla was cut the wrong way. which isn't bad, but it's fucking hysterical. and usually it's cut in four pieces, but this bad boy was cut in three. it was so funny to me. it had nacho cheese in it, which is something the other taco bell's in the area don't usually do, so i didn't ask for just shredded cheese. but it was decent. it'll get me off of wanting taco bell for a while.

anyway i got home, i grabbed the cold stuff from the fridge and freezer, grabbed my laundry, and headed downstairs. i threw my laundry in and i went to sit with joel in our space downstairs and we watched a few episodes of white collar which is really great. he likes showing me his usual shows and watching them with me. it makes me happy. i like that he can share things like that with me, that we can do things together. it was a rare night off for him from all other obligations, so it was nice to just be there together.

anyway, my laundry is now all done and folded and i'm in bed and i'm ready to sleep but not to get up early again tomorrow. 8am comes quickly. 7:15 comes moreso.

also my friends at work are planning something for thursday and the only hint i've been given is "sports car." first thing i thought of was driving a sports car which would be sick. second i thought of a delorean, which goes to back to the future because i'm getting older and is my flavor of nerdy, but other than that.

so i don't know and i don't want to know and i still have twelve million things to do. sheesh. can i have another day this week? because yikes.

sethlas is basically playing valentina in this challenge and I have to say it's hilarious and it isn't even jarring bc canarian accent sounds like an accent from latam, i liked this one lmao i think all of them were pretty good (i do however think that if someone would have been in the bottom, that'd be marina because she was sort of just... there), you have one guess for what does polla gorda (the name of sethlas' character) means (hint: f*t d*ck); and the joke jota makes about suppositories is not about jota herself but about the character sethlas is playing (why do the subtitles think she's talking about herself here idk)

sethlas does tilda swinton in the human voice (which i have to say is freaking brilliant bc it's the one thing this man has made in english, it's a short film but it's the most likely thing to be recognizable for both younger and not spanish speaking audiences... besides juriji's penelope cruz look), the 'is that jose luis moreno?' comment casanova makes is bc jose luis moreno is a tv producer that was hospitalized bc he was attacked by two robbers with an axe in the mid 00s (yes the axe was in his head, the dude is almost 75yo, he must've been 60-ish when he was attacked, no idk how did he come out of that one alive, it's a meme)

estrella is the main character from kika and damn is that prosthetic nose identical to rossy de palma's (disgusted as i was with the sketch -which was the objective of the challenge anyway- between her performance on the sketch and this runway i was pretty sure she was going to win this week ngl), the judges make a reference to kika lorace which is another famous drag queen (she was the invited guest for snatch game last season), casanova quotes a line juana (rossy de palma) says in kika when she is on the runway

samantha starts the runway as lucia (the insane ex-wife) from women on the verge of a nervous breakdown and then turns into pepa (the lover of lucia's ex husband) which is probably one of the best known of the almodovar films? (it's definitely the one in which his films started to actually have plots for one... wacky plots but they at least started to have plots 🤣) and honestly? had samantha not been twice in the bottom already i would have been pretty content with it, it was well executed and she played to her strength bc this is what samantha does, her entire thing is changing characters and improvising, so she does reveals and plays two characters at the same time very often

venedita von dash did that, she's the main character from the 2004 bad education in which gabriel garcia bernal crossdresses for a film and it's fucking great (i don't remember what is the reference to calvo's comment on the runway but i bet you anything it was about carmen maura liking big dicks? something like that)

diamante merybrown is vera from the skin i live in which is literally the stuff of my nightmares come alive (thanks for that, pedro), if samantha got critiqued for being too simple i think the same should have applied to diamante, much as i love her (and much as it was time for samantha to go), both of them did a pretty close reproduction of the actual looks of the movies, although fake blood is always a plus (and a nice nod to the dialogue of the movie, THAT is the one thing that made it a safe for me but barely)

sharonne as marisa paredes in high heels is also fucking uncanny, the subs doesn't pick it up but ambrossi ofc makes the unavoidable marisa > marica (faggot) pun and casanova says 'oh damn eusebio poncela looks great', eusebio poncela is an actor that hates almodóvar's guts after working w him (same w carmen maura btw, she's always beefing with almodovar in public), this is brilliant bc in this movie her character is a famous singer that has a terrible reunion with her estranged daughter and they go see a drag show in which the drag queen's whole gig is imitating marisa paredes' character so she could be playing either marisa paredes or miguel bosé as marisa paredes

jota is andrea caracortada from kika; her character is the presenter of an exploitative tv show that focuses on macabre and bizarre things who wears very over the top clothes, i get ana's argument for the two tit windows being the selling point for that gautier costume design but i did like it 🤷‍♀️ (the look and 'the tampax ponytail' apparently 💀 i am sorry but i think that was rude af from ambrossi) ambrossi calls her alba flores on the runway (the granddaughter of lola flores)

juriji did that too, she's sailor pluto penelope cruz in broken embrace in a replica of vintage chanel and she looks like is a vision (i don't think i have anything else to say she's fucking stunning)

marina is zeca from the skin i live in which is still the stuff from my nightmares but given how many gender subjects are in the movie? fitting, marina is a huge almodovar fan but it would have been criminal for her to reference a different movie of his; her shoes are based on the poster of high heels (same movie sharonne's character is from); supremme makes a reference to the same lola flores song jota referenced in her intro line on ep 1 about being eaten by a tiger; idk if the 'what does she have in that bag?' 'her patience' is a ref to something else but for me it's a reference to a viral tweet by la vecina rubia, i sorta felt like she was just barely there in the acting challenge but i did love this runway (even if i don't think it's entirely on theme bc zeca is v much a straight male character not an almodovar leading lady so yay good for her)

onyx also does a look inspired by andrea caracortada from kika; casanova saying 'you won't film me anymore' is another meme quote reference (to isabel pantoja, a singer, telling off paparazzis stalking her home, it's iconic bc she basically left her house with the express purpose to beat some punks); supremme says 'kitt i need you' which is a reference to both knight rider the tv show from 1982 and a song called 'kitt y los coches del pasado' by ladilla rusa which a man called jose maria turns out to moonlight as a woman called mariví

when the judges all started to cry i wanted to cry as well; the lipsync song is a song from the movie high heels and okay damn jota did so good, samantha did what she does best but it was time, sadly

watching this twice once in spanish and once with subtitles is truly an experience bc sometimes you can tell when they have a hard time discerning accents (it's not actually bad, just disconcerting bc it's close but it's not what they're saying like in episode one when onyx and samantha were messing around with the breastplates, they changed onyx saying 'my tuck is getting undone/popping up' to 'i am getting tachycardia' bc tuck is close to tach and the verb was jumping up which works with tachycardia, it really feels like them having a hard time just making out words sometimes because enunciation isn't really a thing in castilian spanish)
