there's smth I don't get about the john hate and that's the assumption that because he did what he did, he didn't love his sons. i used to think much more like that when I stepped into the fandom because the meta on john being an awful guy is fucking everywhere, from him being a drunk, to beating up his kids, to albeit funny posts about dean suffering from malnutrition. like, no. he did some serious shit but it never once came from a lack of love. if anything, it's from too much of it. people seem to forget, he gave his life for dean. how is that not the most sincere demonstration of love. he would rather spend eternity in hell than watch his son die. and not only that, but the deal wasn't with some random crossroads demon, he made it with the thing that killed his wife and which he devoted his life to hunt down. the strength that took??? to look into the eyes of the thing you hate the most and say "I need your help". because for his son, he'd do anything.

You aren’t ALWAYS going to be able to have the energy to do what we consider traditionally productive. You won’t always have the motivation.

Yeah, maybe you could have spent two hours studying for that test instead of 15 minutes. Maybe you could have cleaned the kitchen instead of the dishes. And? That’s still something!

Productivity is doing things!! Did you eat food and drink water? You did something that helped your body work! Doodled in class? You made art! Even just posting theories and memes on tumblr dot com is a thing! You thought out the post, figured out how to organize it (even if you don’t realize you did that) and you made it! And now other people can see and you DID something and you should be proud!!!

Be proud of yourself or I am going to show up outside your window tonight and scream positive affirmations louder than a cat who has just discovered her food bowl is empty.

Saw a weird amount of people saying negative things about Signalis today. While I agree that I can’t tell most of the replika types apart because of their similar appearances, I think it’s extremely unfair to call them out as bad robot designs, because they’re not supposed to be good robot designs. The replikas are androids, they’re supposed to look human and in fact they’re supposed to look almost exactly like the specific humans they’re each based on. That’s like one of the major plot points of the whole game, and its themes about the connection and dissonance between a replika and the person who they were based on wouldn’t work if the replikas were completely inhuman robots

It feels weird to use them as the opposing example for a “if you saw the robots I want to fuck you’d hurl” type joke because they’re like barely robots. Maybe there are people saying it and I just don’t know it, but I personally haven’t seen a single person call the replikas peak sexy robot girl designs or anything.

so that's what i've been working on for the past 2 weeks! i wanted to draw something for this intro ever since i first listened to it (as a companion piece to my other gur drawing, though it of course ended up being way bigger in scale), but it only really gripped me about halfway through PALISADE ep 18. the next morning after that i listened to this narration on repeat for about 45 minutes and then made a big sketch on 4 sheets of paper at my desk at work.

anyways, i haven't listened to the new episode yet but i think i'm probably ready for whatever they're gonna throw at us with the next sortie. i'm gonna believe, against it all, in millennium break. for gur

One thing I find really hilarious to think about sometimes is just how much older/younger a lot of the real-life Expedition crew members were compared to their fictional counterparts.

Like, 25 year-old Goodsir, anyone? Or 27 year-old Collins for that matter?

26 year-old Bridgens and 37 year-old Peglar? Ludicrous!

On the one hand, it blows my mind a little bit that I'm currently the same age as the likes of Fitzjames and Le Vesconte.

But on the other hand, I look at all of my male contemporaries - God's Perfect Idiots to a man - and think "Aw shit, yeah, it all makes sense now! Men are just fuckin' like that, huh?"
