For the first time in almost 10 years I understand a scary medical thing my little brother went through. And why, why he might have closed his eyes to possibility of it being something bad.

So what if I got edible stoned and started 3 new wips last night? And??

1) interlude - slash- continuation after Transplant - Joel starts a bar brawl after a new settler crosses a boundary with you and shoves Ezra when he tries to diffuse the argument. Joel finishes it, and you tend to his busted knuckles and frayed nerves afterward.

2) untitled- Frankie and Ezra are assigned to a special task force to fly in and retrieve stolen artefacts from an internationally-protected dig site. When the chopper gets shot down and he and Ezra are discharged from duty, Frankie stays with him to nurse the new amputee back to health. Coworkers-to-friends-to-lovers

3) untitled (Joel/Din pairing)- deadwood style cowboy flick- set post-civil war/1870s in Wyoming. Joel is a carpenter in Jackson, busy building the new settlement for prospectors and bounty hunters alike. He's one of the few men in town that avoids the whorehouse like a plague. He lives quietly in a modest house with his daughter on a small, sustainable sheep farm. When a bounty hunter with a masked face rolls into town looking for shelter, a small boy tucked against his back, spurning the only inn-slash-whorehouse, Joel finds himself offering begrudgingly offering his spare room.

Doing one of these dumb silly posts even though I hate all my words today 🙃 for ACCOUNTABILITY or whatever.

Today's wordcount: 869

Total words to date: 7,370

Favorite line: Soon enough, she's pushing her latest creation across the bar counter - a stout, short-stemmed crystalline glass full to the brim with a mixture of copper-tinged liquid.

"Fer yer feathered familiar," Ember says gruffly. "Manhattan, infused with sage and laced with vole's blood. Might want to drink it slow, this one's a doozy."

Its a bad day and it will pass I hope.

Sorted my Drive (was planning to it for new years, but my numbering system was getting out of hand as it went into the 30's), and am left with this neat arrangement:

Then I colour coded them based on fandom (the white one is for an alt account). Red = Redfall, Orange = DL, Blue = Star wars, Yellow = DX, Gray = F4.

Gonna try to finish the top row before the end of the year, and use this post for accountability.

Then it's really scary because I basically only have longfics. But I have kinktober to finish as well, and I'm sure I'll come up with more drabble ideas along the way.

I moved a handfull of my fics to my backburner folder. Idk what to do with those yet. And I've been thinking about editing and posting stuff I wrote for the avengers fandom when back when, but idk how much of that can be salvaged lol. On that note, I also have a whole folder with F4 fics that cover my Sole's interaction with each companion, but it's unfinished and OC heavy so idk what to do with that either. But that's a problem for future me. Right now I need to focus on wrapping up my shorter stuff ^^

If Anyone Was Wondering...

I missed writing for fun these past 2 years, but grad school kept your girl busy.

I already had about 3 more scenes planned for Erik and Imani...so I plan to finish out The E Commandments.

Might revisit DeeDee and Erik as well. But yeah, the writing bug has hit again. And there is still so much greatness coming out of the fandom...so you know, why not.

It'll be a moment as I transition out of academic writing to finding my writing voice again but I'm back I guess, lol.

Thank you to everyone who still tags me in their fics. I'm slowly making my way through them.

So I *think* the structure of this Robin POV is going to be alternating between "current day" taking place at a certain point in the original story, and flashbacks to Robin's pre-Nancy apocalypse. I'm at ~4600 words right now and somewhere in the middle of the fourth scene, and I think I have 4-5 more scenes I want to write for it, so realistically I think we're probably looking at something like 10k for the finished piece. So, longer than I originally planned but still nowhere near as long as the first one. Hopefully.
