Finally after being stumped on a name for so long, the LeshyCat children concept is here, first, of course, some info on the parents :)

How they met: Due to his injuries making it extremely difficult for him to adjust to his new life in the cult (let alone how he would now have to learn how to live with a mortal body again) on his own, the Yellow Cat (who i will be referring to as "Amare" from now on) was assigned as his caretaker to help him deal with the necessities that came with being a mortal again (sleep, water, physical activities and so on) on top of the problems that came with his injury. While Leshy at first felt insulted by this treatment (the whole "i was a god i can do this without the help of some mortal yada yada" thing), he soon realized it was for the better (while also realizing his feelings for Amare :3).

Leshy: Freed from Purgatory in the cult around 100-ish years after his death and 15 years after Narinder was overthrown by The Lamb. All his high priests and his witness (Amdusias, Valefar, Barbatos and Agares) had passed away before his arrival, making the former and current gods of death the only "familiar" figures in the cult (they both changed so much after their last encounters), although he still avoided both of them most of the time (Narinder because of his conflicting thoughts about the older brother, and The Lamb somewhat out of anger at them but mostly fear due to how traumatic Purgatory was for him), but dont worry they eventually made amends along with the rest of the bishops :). Also became friends with bat follower but she isnt relevant for this post

Amare (the Yellow Cat): Rescued from being sacrificed to the dead bishop of chaos in Darkwood after followers of the Old Faith killed everyone else from his village, works as a farmer in the cult. He was the only follower (aside from the first five followers of the cult, who are kept alive and act as advisors and friends for The Lamb) that knew of Leshy's past as an bishop, and though he still held resentment for the former god, The Lamb's seeming disposition to forgive him made the cat consider doing the same for him, volunteering to be his caretaker. Once their relationship was made official, he was given a golden skull necklace to ensure the two could stay by each other's side for eternity.

Now for the children hehe

They are twins (as ive mentioned in my other posts), a daughter named Camellia (Amare chose the name) and a son named (drumroll please im so proud of this name) Havoc! (Name chosen by Leshy of course).

They both have green moss-like fur from Leshy, and the head shape of a cat from Amare, but other than that their bodies are very distinct due to inheriting different parts from their parents

Havoc: His limbs and tail, as well as his longer whiskers, are from Amare, giving him a silhouette very similar to a cat, aside from the antler-like branches he got from Leshy, he also has two sets of eyes like Leshy used to have once, ironically though, he has rather poor eyesight, needing glasses to see things that are a bit too far. Despite his name he is actually pretty calm and enjoys the peacefulness of the cult, though this doesnt mean he is opposed to some occasional mischief, specially with his sister. Wants to help with teaching when he becomes of age (also im thinking about the idea of having him figure himself out as transfem but thats for another time)

Camellia: her limbs and tail, being from Leshy, are quite a bit longer and thicker than her brother's, giving her a broader and taller silhouette, as well as making her quite a bit stronger physically, she also has only one set of eyes and shorter whiskers than her brother, as well as no branch antlers. Is a very active person, playing with other kids and sometimes helping adults with tasks that wouldnt risk injuring her (most of the time they dont let her though). Also loves doing pranks and other forms of tomfoolery around the cult along with her brother. She is also very protective of him, getting into multiple fights with kids (and a drunk adult one time) who pick on him (aka bullies). Wants to follow her parent's job of farming when she comes of age.

OKAY SO I JUST DECIDED TO FILL THE WHOLE THING OUT! I headcanon Peril as Intersex and nonbinary!! AND SAME FOR ME, they fall fight between “I know them” and “their lore is literally impacted by their transsexualism”!! Peril is a very Nonbinary character to me, the way she was raised to view things as very “black & white” and hosting a sense of little self autonomy— makes them finding a comfortable identity in a very “”in the middle”” gender compelling! Especially within the understanding of how Peril was raised and brought up in someone else’s vision, being able to find self-identity in that nature of breaking down the “black & white” structure that was forced on them through the act of finding identity in neutrality. I find the development of self-love extended through gender expression in that nature something that works well in-unison with Peril’s pre-existing themes! Especially in regards to the layered metaphors of the Necklace. As a nonbinary person myself - I found that to be a pinnacle moment of forced suppression of identity into something more “palatable” to the public perception - in this analysis that being the forcing of femininity onto a gnc aligning identity - speaking to the way many nonbinary identity’s are expected to lean “one direction or the other”. So that moment being involved in Perils story - and her breaking free of it and having a self-realization/control moment - very reflective of nonbinary/gender non conforming experiences !!

With that though - thats just my own interpretation and connection to those aspects of Peril’s characterization! I find her lore and themes within her character to speak to many universal experiences of identity that can be interpreted in a fluid way. Like I personally read it as a very compelling arc about non-conformity and applied my own experiences with gender expression onto it, but other interpretations/analyses are just as strong! Thats why I put this headcanon in the middle, because I find it connects heavily to their lore, but is similarly just an extension of it and not necessarily interwoven in-full. Its a lot of personal interpretation which is why the personable “I know them” also 100% fits my perception of transgenderism onto Peril <33

Also the Intersex headcanon is purely a me thing, I always thought Peril was intersex just like. Factually lmao (one of those “I somehow convinced myself this was canon and was surprised to learn it was not” moments lmao). The reason I included it as well is because within my headcanon I think Peril would similarly absorb her being intersex to a further extension of gender identity! Again, breaking down those “black & white” views that were forced on them through themself - literally! Notably being intersex does not inherently mean gender identity is going to be impacted as well, just for this headcanon I feel Peril’s relationship to their gender identity would be strongly impacted by them being intersex <3 !!

Platonic yandere Ace is like the sibling that teases you all the time, but anybody else caught trying to make fun of you is dead (although literally this time)

He’s got absolutely no tolerance for anyone even lightly poking fun at you and has no qualms with starting an argument with them right then and there

Even your friends aren’t spared from him, anything that could be considered even slightly mean is met with ridicule from Ace, and he knows how to hit them right where it hurts

It’s a very isolating experience; none of your friends want anything to do with you because they feel like they’re walking on eggshells trying to avoid setting Ace off

And on the other hand, Ace sticks to you like glue but is of no comfort at all. His little jabs used to be teasing and playful, like any other sibling banter would be, but over time his digs seemingly got more and more personal

He used to joke about how you’re stuck with him because you suck at making friends, but now he insists that the reason you’ve only got him is because you’re so unlikable that everyone else can’t stand you

And the more he repeats those mean ‘jokes’ to you, the more you start to believe what he says and stop going out of your way to try and meet new people. You’ve got Ace, what other friends could you need?

And when you stop trying to do things that Ace makes fun of you for like making new friends or going on dates, Ace stops making fun of you for it

It’s a win for both of you; you get the cheery Ace who only lightly pokes fun at you every now and again back, and Ace gets to stay your only friend

Deuce on the other hand is like an overprotective brother and helicopter parent rolled into one

He vets any friends you have, making sure they’re genuine and aren’t just trying to use you and he has to know all of your friends and when you want to hang out with them and what you’re up to

At first you felt grateful, his scrutiny had saved you from a couple of bad eggs who didn’t have the best of intentions, which is why you let him carry on and waved off any concerns

But when his questions to your friends start getting a bit too invasive and he starts intimidating people who he personally doesn’t want you to hang out with, it’s already too late

Your initial enabling of his behaviours led him to believe that you needed him to do this, that if your friends couldn’t handle a little scrutiny or warnings then they weren’t dedicated enough to be your friends, that they didn’t care about you as much as he did

And everything you say to him goes in one ear and out the other, he knows you better than anyone else, maybe even better than you know yourself, so of course he should know what’s best for you and those ‘friends’ certainly weren’t it

You let him get away with too much because he was your best friend and you trusted his judgment, but the trust had gone straight to his head and blinded him

And now you don’t have anyone else you can turn to because of your ‘guard dog’s’ reputation, nobody wants to get to close for fear of getting bit

It’s alright though, right? You have Deuce and he’s all you could ever need in a friend. Just let him keep looking out for you, it’s what he does best

Boundaries (updated)!

Hail, True Body AU

Hey, I'm Mark/Mustang (whichever you prefer) and I made/make the 'Hail, True Body' AU for the Mandela Catalogue. I've already gave my boundaries briefly when I first started my blog here, but I thought I'd give the points more in-depth here on their own post.

1. Shipping (romantically/sexually)

An absolute and emphatic 'NO'. Do not romantically ship ANYONE in the HTB AU, that also goes for /reader or Y/N content. Not only should you not do this because of it being one of Alex Kister's boundaries, but also because it reduces my work to nothing more than shipping when the story I am telling has no place for it. HTB AU is about platonic and familial love as well as self-love. It's about what it means to be human when it's in direct conflict with the psychological horrors going on all around. It's also about coming to terms with past traumas and hurts and facing them in order to move forward. Shipping undermines everything I am trying to do and want to do with this AU. Plus, having to see NSFW content of your work when you specifically and explicitly don't want it really sucks the fun out of creating something. I am putting my foot down straight out of the gate as hard as I am because I've already had one instance of inappropriateness and never want it to happen again.

That being said, if you want to "ship" (I mean, it's not really 'shipping' in this context) platonically in a 'brOTP' kind of way, you absolutely can. There is plenty of platonic intimacy in the series - hugs, comforting, taking care of each others' wounds, etc. Having a favourite friendship group is absolutely fine and more than welcome if you want to talk about their dynamics or write/draw for them.

2. Art & Fanfic

Have a scene you want to draw or would you like to write a 'what-if' scenario - like maybe a 'what-if Mark had listened to alt!Cesar in the church in chapter 6'? You are absolutely welcome to! All I ask is that you tag it back to the fic series on Ao3 and tag me if you can so I can see and support it - I love seeing what you all make!

This section also covers things like animatics, comics, playlists, and even cosplay!

3. Headcanoning

Loosely tied to the 'Shipping' section, headcanoning characters as being in romantic/sexual relationship with anyone is not permitted. However, you are more than welcome to have headcanons about them as individuals. For example, do you headcanon HTB Mark as transmasc, asexual, etc., or resident eldritch horror alt!Cesar as agender/non-binary? That's awesome, I think having those headcanons are very cool and they're very welcome here!

4. Character Designs

The characters in this AU have very specific designs and outfits across the different eras that these fics take place in. When making art or content of them, please don't significantly change their designs - both physical appearance and their outfits. This is because their designs carry a lot of stuff that is important across the AU, tying into their backgrounds and experiences, etc. For example, if you want to draw Mark post 1992, please don't remove his facial scars or the patches from his denim jacket - they are crucial to his character in this AU!

However, please know you can make small changes. For example, do you think Mark would wear glasses whilst reading? Feel free to add them! Or like @pandoricabox did with their amazing HTB Dave cosplay, you can add small details like stress doodles on skin, or extra jewellery, etc!

If you are unsure if your changes to a character might cross into this boundary, send me a message and I will get back to you ASAP!

5. Roleplaying

This one is a bit more of a difficult one as the rules are a bit more complex(?). I don't mind if you want to roleplay as characters from this AU - roleplay is a good skill to have and it can help greatly with developing writing/storytelling skills! However, the characterisations of the cast in Hail, True Body AU are quite set on their paths and I'd rather not have people complicate things by making public roleplays that have the potential to confuse readers who stumble across them and think they might be accurate depictions of the characters.

So, please don't publicly roleplay as these characters!

However, you are more than welcome to make private roleplays with your friends if that is something you'd like to do! If you end up wanting to share the odd funny or cool moment from said RPs, you can do so, but please make it clear that it is a roleplay and isn't considered canon to the AU.

6. OCs

If you'd like to make your own OCs and write stories about/make art of/roleplay as them within this universe, you are more than welcome to! All I ask is that you follow the same rules as laid out in section 2 for "Art & Fanfic" and credit me for the AU setting you are using. Additionally, if you plan on role-playing as those OCs in this setting, you absolutely can do that publicly - your characters are yours, after all! Only follow section 5 for roleplay regarding the AU's main cast (Mark, alt!Cesar, etc.).

Ooh, this is an interesting one. I don't really think any of them would marry out of obligation, but this is too good to pass up. TW for all that unhappy relationship stuff. Also, they're pretty long for my standard and I kind of went crazy trying to make them as sad and depressing as possible so be warned if you're sensitive to that.

Bachelors:

Sam

Sam married you because of the good you did for him and his family. You helped his mother with all the stress she was under, got Vincent's grades up, helped Kent readjust to life in the valley, and most of all: you helped him. He feels after all you've helped him through, he'd be a bad person to not accept your bouquet.

And it just went from there. He considered breaking up, just letting it be how it should, but he didn't want to break your heart. All he did was hope and hope you didn't come home with a mermaid's pendant one day. But lo and behold, you did. And now he's married.

It's not that he hates you, he just wishes he wasn't stuck in this position.

Elliott

Elliott married you because of the good you did for the community. He's very much a community man at heart, and always liked you for helping out around town. But he never expected you to come to him with a bouquet. He was, in all honesty, a little taken aback. He knew you liked him, but like that?

He was suddenly left with a choice. Turn you down, which meant breaking your kind heart, or accept the bouquet, which meant being stuck with you as a partner. In all honesty, he didn't like either of those choices. But in the heat of the moment, he accepted the bouquet, and regretted it almost immediately.

He spent the rest of his days waiting for the relationship to end. He never loved you like that. He cared for you, sure, but he never had romantic feelings for you. He really wished he could be in a relationship he was happy with, but he's not the kind to cheat. So, he just waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and...

Sebastian

Sebastian married you because of how kind you were. You were always there to offer a helping hand - even on the day's when he was at his rudest. He felt he owed a great deal to you. So, when you asked him out, he felt like it was the least he could do to accept. He planned on breaking up with you soon, sure, but that could be handled. He'd just say he liked you better as a friend. Not hard, right?

But you looked so happy with him. He'd never seen anyone smile so much. And now there's this pit in his stomach whenever he works up the courage to tell the truth. He's always so close to doing it, to just setting the both of you free, but he can't.

Though he won't Sebastian gets the closest out of anyone to cheating. If her were younger he definitely would, but he's matured now that he's older. And he doesn't want to hurt you like that. Cheating would be a bad thing, but then again he just can't break up with you. So, what does he do? That's right, he stays unhappy in the relationship (and eventual marriage) for the rest of his days.

Harvey

Harvey marries you because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. What can I say? He's that kind of guy. He's totally oblivious to the fact that you have feelings for him, and as such it caught completely off guard when you hand him the bouquet of flowers. He just says yes out of instinct. He hates himself for not thinking it through.

Though, I think Harvey would be better than some of the others when he's actually in the relationship. Before marriage, he's still able to work at the clinic and live life normally with the other residents. But once you ask him to marry, that changes.

There has always been (AKA I'm pretending for the sake of this headcanon there has always been) an unspoken rule that someone has to stay at home. Whichever partner it be didn't matter, but someone was the breadwinner and someone took care of the house. Harvey knew this, and was devastated when he realised it was going to be him that had to stay at home. He did consider going against the norm, but the house needed so much upkeep that you couldn't handle on your own.

He spends the rest of his days dreaming of a better life. As much as he hates himself for it, he wonders what his life would be like if you never showed up to the valley.

Shane

Shane marries you because of how you helped him. You got him out of the roughest part of his entire life. How can he thank you enough for that? He still struggles with self-esteem, so when that bouquet shows up at his front doorstep, he manages to peer pressure himself into accepting it.

That walk to your house was awful. It made him sick to see your smile so wide and your laugh so bright. He hated every bit of it. He wished you would yell at him. Tell him it was a joke at call him names for thinking it was legit. He wished you would snatch the bouquet from his hands and throw it in his face.

But you didn't. You accepted his acceptation with the bubbliest personality he'd ever seen. You squealed and spun around and smiled. That smile. He'll never get it out of his head. It's what forced him to stay all those years. To marry you. To move into your house. To maybe even father your children.

It made him sick.

Alex

Alex marries you because of the good you did for his grandparents. He loved you so much more being so kind to them. They were the only living family he had left. But he never meant for those feelings to come off as romantic. He never expected you to get giddy and gossip about his supposed crush on you with your friends. And most of all, he never expected you to put so much effort into that confession.

He came to your farm that night expecting nothing more than a friendly hangout and maybe a movie or two. He was not expecting the farmhouse to be decorated head-to-toe like that, nor was he expecting you to put so much effort into your outfit. He had to admit, you looked gorgeous. But that sense of second-hand pride vanished when you moved your hands from behind your back to reveal a bouquet.

His heart sank. Oh no. So, this is what's going on. Well, what's he supposed to do? He can't reject you like this. Not here. Not now. Maybe he could leave. Make an excuse to come back tomorrow. But that would mean basically the same thing! Maybe he should accept it. Pretend for a few weeks. That's what people do, right? Right?

Bachelorettes:

Penny

Penny marries you because of the good you did for the community. She always wanted to change things in town, to bring back the life and youthful spark it once had. but she always felt like she was too weak. So, when you came along and did all that for her... Well, she was amazed.

She was not amazed however the morning you gave her the bouquet. Turns out, all that embarrassed stuttering had been interpreted as romantic feelings, and not her being just a teensy bit scared of how cool you were.

But this is Penny, and so of course she's going to get flustered. I mean, wouldn't anyone? You don't have to like a person to get all emotional that they like you. But, once again, you interpreted this as her liking you back. You immediately wrapped your arms around her in a tight hug, and now there was nothing Penny could do.

Leah

Leah marries you because of the good you did for the community. Like Penny, she too wanted to change the community dynamic in Pelican town but didn't know how. She always thought it could be done through her art, but we all know she was too embarrassed to show it off.

But that's when you came along. You helped her gain the confidence to show off her skills. And sweet Yoba, was it fun! For the first time in forever she didn't feel as insecure about her sculptures. Yeah, sharing them with you and Elliott was fine, but she was always nervous about what the more critical townies would think. But you helped her through that, and she couldn't thank you enough...

... Is what she thought before you came to her with that bouquet. She had seen it before, right behind Pierre's counter on a Tuesday afternoon. She had seen you eyeing it but had never realised who you wanted to give it to. And wow, did she get a shock.

At first, being in a relationship with you wasn't so bad. Sure, those looks from the townies weren't great, and it wasn't fun listening to everyone ask questions, and it sure as hell was even worse listening to Elliott go on about how 'true love prevails against all,' and yeah, maybe she was reminded a bit of her ex, but... Oh no. She doesn't like this at all.

Abigail

Abigail marries you because of the good you did for her. You were always there when she needed you. When things were going bad, her first thought was to run to you. And you were always there. You always gave her exactly what she needed. So, when that bouquet was left in her hands, she felt like she had no choice.

Abigail's having the easiest time in the relationship. Yeah, it sucks that this happened, but for the most part she got to pretend you two were still just friends. It was her coping mechanism, I suppose, to repress the truth and pretend that everything was fine. It's what she usually did. But slowly it became harder to ignore the truth. Things settled down. She got older. And it was only a few years into this mess did she realise what she had gotten herself into.

Abigail's next plan of action is to get out of this place. She did, in fact, try breaking up with you once. But it went so horribly she told you it was a dare Sebastian forced her to do. Oh, right, I forgot to mention everyone is well aware of how unhappy Abigail is. But they don't have the heart to tell you that.

Maru

Maru marries you because of the good you did for the... Everything. You rebuilt the community centre, you helped everyone overcome their struggles, hell, you even brought her and Sebastian closer together. Why wouldn't she panic and hide after seeing that bouquet?

Yeah, she runs. Honestly, in the moment it's not a bad idea. She needed time and so she took it. At first, things were going fine. She had time to plan stuff out. But then came the news: you were devastated. Apparently, you had absolutely crumbled upon Maru's response. Well, now what?

Maru organised a meeting with you at your house. There, she planned on telling you the truth and hopefully walking you through any emotions you might be feeling. But that didn't happen. The minute she brought up the bouquet you burst into tears and just told her how much you loved her. And so, out of a pure first instinct reaction, she says she loves you too.

Emily

Emily marries you because of the good you did for Haley and the community. Not only did you save the town from succumbing to Joja Corp., but you also helped Haley come out of her shell and be the person she really is. She was so keen on you for bringing her and her sister together. She was not keen, however, on the bouquet you were holding.

You had planned an extravagant trip together. You were going all the way through the Secret Woods, which, by the way, you had spent all morning decorating to make it look perfect. At first, she was enjoying it. But when you told her there was something on her mind... Well, that's when her heart sank.

If you hadn't put so much effort into making this as perfect as possible, she would have turned you down. Really! But she saw the look of desperation in your eyes and just knew she couldn't bring herself to say no. She was miserable, but it's what she forced herself to do.

Haley

Haley marries you because of the good you did for her. For all these years she had been covering up who she truly was; pretending she was just another mean girl who didn't want friends. But you brought her out of that. You helped her become who she truly was. And she was so, so thankful for it.

When you gave her that bouquet in the flower field, she almost considered turning you down. But she had fooled herself into thinking she really was in love with you. She accepted the bouquet with a smile, and for the first month or so things went on without an issue.

It was only during the second month did she start having doubts. Yeah, she wasn't hating her situation, but it didn't feel like she expected. She never got anything out of those kisses, or those dates, or those 'I love you's. She never got anything out of any of it.

And that's when she realised. She wasn't in love. She never was. She had just tricked herself into thinking she did love you. But it was a lie! She wasn't happy; she never was. And she did consider breaking up with you, and got pretty close a few times, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. Because, after all, she still managed to trick herself into thinking she didn't mind being your partner. And she hated it.

Buddy Daddies Week - Headcanons

Welcome to Day 3 of my Buddy Daddies 1 Year Anniversary Celebration Week!

Today, I present to you...more headcanons!

12 more to be exact, corresponding with the number of episodes (plus a bonus 13th one that is kinda a hc to honor the recap ep). Hope you enjoy them! Feel free to add on to any or add some more of your own!

One day, while Miri is at daycare, Rei and Kazuki are relaxing with each other on their couch. Rei is scrolling on his phone while Kazuki is playing some word game. Eventually, Rei calls Kazuki's name and shows him a picture on his phone, asking Kazuki if he can find this the next time he is at the market. It's a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Rei is absolutely enchanted by the idea of little cereal that is supposed to taste like French Toast. Kazuki is pretty sure he won't be able to find it at their usual market, but he promises to look since he's sure Miri would also love it. After much research and online scouring, Kazuki finally finds a box and has it shipped to their place. Several weeks have passed and due to Rei not bringing it up again, Kazuki thinks he might have forgotten about his request, and the intensity in which he asked Kazuki about finding this cereal. So, Kazuki decides to surprise Rei and Miri by telling them that they can have cereal for breakfast, but instead of their usual bowls of Choco Rings, Kazuki places three bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Miri absolutely loves it, asking for a second bowl, Kazuki doesn't think it's that bad, but it's way too sugary and his homemade french toast is definitely better, and Rei is in heaven.

Kazuki definitely has pictures in his wallet of Miri and Rei, and if anyone asks about his family, you bet he's pulling out this little album and proudly showing whoever. It started out on a whim when he had some pictures printed and was given a complimentary "wallet size" print. Not thinking too much about it, Kazuki stuck it into his own wallet. After a few weeks, he realized he liked seeing these pictures of the fun times the three of them spent together and slowly began to add more photos to his wallet, as well as updating them by taking older ones out and replacing them with newer adventures.

In the third audio drama, Rei pulls out a gun a handful of times throughout their apartment. Logically, Rei is probably keeping the gun on him for self-defense or to be ready if anyone tried to attack him, Kazuki, or Miri. But, for the sake of comedy (or the gag), I headcanon Rei has several guns or other weapons hidden around the house, way out of Miri’s reach, and unknown to Kazuki, for quick access in any room should an attack occur. So each time Rei pulls one out in this story, it’s a different one, which Kazuki eventually catches on to and always causes him to have a slight moment of confusion or perhaps questioning over how long it’s been hidden, how’d he keep it hidden even from him, and how many more are hidden. 

For his birthday, Kazuki decides he wants to have a picnic on the beach with Rei and Miri. Since it's his birthday, Rei tells Kazuki that he will take care of their lunches. Kazuki is a little hesitant, but if it means spending the morning with Miri coloring, being beaten at Morio Kart, or whatever activity she decides on, he agrees. Kazuki even decides to leave Rei alone in the kitchen and not watch over him, thinking that if Rei needs any help, he'll come ask Kazuki. When the time comes to eat their lunches, Kazuki opens his bento, and somewhat to his surprise, it's pretty good. He notices that a lot of the items Rei put in are what he normally puts in the bentos he makes for Miri on special school occasions (or on previous family outings). And while it may not be the prettiest looking, Kazuki knows it was made with so much love, making everything taste incredible. After they finish their meal and are relaxing by the ocean, Kazuki asks Rei how he figured out everything since most of the time, Rei is elsewhere while Kazuki is making the bentos. Rei shrugs his shoulders and tells him he decided on what to include based on what Kazuki likes, what he remembers Kazuki put in previous bentos, and from past conversations with Miri about the special lunch Kazuki had made for her that day. This makes Kazuki's heart melt knowing how much consideration went into making it. 

During the end credits, there is an image of Miri in a kimono looking at three fish (which, side hc, I've always thought she or her papas would have won at a festival). These fish come home with them and are technically Miri, Rei, and Kazuki's first family pets. Kazuki can't do much to prevent the fish from coming home because they won them, but he still argues he doesn't want a pet. Kazuki then tells Rei and Miri that it is their responsibility to look after them, such as by making sure their bowl stays clean and that they are well fed. Kazuki knows he'll have to help out here or there, but considering fish don't do much (or could cause that much havoc), he's okay with having fishes for a pet. Despite Rei and Miri working hard to take care of the fish, and proving they can both responsibly look after another living being, the fish eventually pass away, which causes Miri to become sad since she enjoyed taking care of them and watching them swim around their tank. Seeing how down Miri is after their fishes pass, and knowing how much they would both love it, Kazuki finally gives in and allows them to get a cat for their next family pet. 

Karin was originally the over-protective little sister. When Yuzuko first brought Kazuki to meet Karin, she totally interrogated him about his motives, his likes/dislikes, how he would treat her big sister, and was the one to give Kazuki the "talk" about dating Yuzuko. She eventually realized Kazuki had nothing but good intentions and how in love Yuzuko and Kazuki were with each other, causing Karin to ease off on her questioning. She would continue to do so in a teasing manner, which Kazuki eventually picked up on and would play along with his answers. It is this understanding of their love for each other and how good of a man Kazuki was to Yuzuko that leads Karin to seek Kazuki out, not out of anger, but to check in on him and remind him that he can be happy and change without forgetting her big sister. 

In the flashback shown in ep. 7 of Yuzuko's death, Kazuki is seen wearing a black (or possibly navy, sorry couldn't exactly tell) jacket that at least stylewise bears a strong resemblance to his signature green jacket. What if that black jacket is what Kazuki regularly wore on missions, similar to how Rei always wears a suit? And what if on one of their earlier missions together, something goes terribly wrong, leaving Kazuki injured and that jacket in shreds? Kazuki is left to rest in bed for a short period of time, with Rei feeling guilty that the mission went so wrong because of him. Wanting to apologize and perhaps express some of his gratitude for all that Kazuki has begun to do around the apartment, Rei tries to find Kazuki a replacement jacket. He can't find the exact one, and instead orders the green one he is constantly seen wearing in the show. When Kazuki finally makes it out of his room, he opens his bedroom door to a package waiting just in front, with a note saying something short and sweet like "I'm sorry" or "Thank you." And perhaps it is this gesture from Rei, which Kazuki was not at all expecting, that causes them to start getting to know each other better and spend more time together.

The Concierge

Will often have a hand warmer in their pocket. On really cold days, they will slip it into their glove to keep their hands extra warm to combat the stiffness.

Remembers people's names a lot easier than they do faces and will often just not call people by their name unless they know them well. It saves them the embarrassment, and unprofessionalism, of calling someone by the wrong name.

The Concierge's greatest strength and weakness is their loyalty. Ride or die, they will stand by your side. Even if you're in the wrong. They might question you, but ultimately they'll go along with what you want.

While coming across as having a nihilistic view of the world, the Concierge is of the firm belief that one good turn deserves another. And likewise that a transgression is owed another in turn.

They are very particular about the quality of their gloves - it must be thick enough to hide skin entirely, but thin enough that they can feel through them.

The Concierge's hands are very sensitive even with the gloves. They definitely like it when Sans kisses them.

Has never cared about their identity or their sexual preferences. They are what their handlers need them to be.

Has a very long history with the Manager that goes back to their days as an Emissary. Following the incident that ended their career as Emissary, they were offered the position of Concierge by the Manager. They accepted.

They're a workaholic. Doesn't know what to do if they have time to themselves with nothing on the agenda. They have been working their whole life.

Recovering alcoholic? Or just someone who doesn't like alcohol? Who knows. They're not going to tell.

Definitely has an audio fetish/auralism.

Sans

Very flirtatious and not afraid to spread his affections between his bedmates (at least until he starts to connect with the Concierge). Never had the same bedmate twice (again, before the Concierge).

The most sexually and romantically experienced of the three of them.

Serves as Asgore's Judge and spymaster. His network of spies extend past the monster community and into the human world. Money goes a long way.

Actually was really suspicious of the Concierge when he first met them - this actual person looks and feels more like a doll on strings, whose eyes are empty and dead and their smile so polite it can only be fake. It was so hard to get a reaction out of them that he really, really wanted to make them react to him.

Is as much of a slob as his other versions are, he just hides it a lot better. His room is an absolute pigsty. Everywhere else? Artfully messy without being disgusting. Somehow. Papyrus still hates it.

A functioning alcoholic in denial. Can't go a day without a drink. Rationalises it by saying that he only has one glass every day, but every other day it's a half a bottle, and the day after that a full bottle. Thinks he can go cold turkey but he really can't.

Not a fan of drugs, but can see that there's business in dealing/trafficking/manufacturing. Doesn't like to think that he's ruining lives with them, though.

The most ruthless and bloodthirsty of Asgore's lieutenants. Undyne and Papyrus would just kill them, while Alphys would keep them alive for experiments but ultimately is too soft to kill. Sans enjoys the bloodsport of it all and often requires Papyrus to rein him back in.

Very loyal to his brother. Will kill for Papyrus. Will die for Papyrus.

Loves the Concierge's hands because they kill so efficiently with them. He doesn't care that their hands have been weakened.

Secretly has a sock fetish.

Papyrus

The sensible brother.

Identified as aromantic asexual for most of his life. Men - meh. Women - meh. Unidentifiable gender due to the construction of their bodies and the nature of their being - meh. A wooden Concierge in a stunning outfit who can press him against the wall - smitten.

Despite his label, he's a romantic at heart. Wants to be swept off his feet by a gallant knight/prince/princess and doted on sweetly. Refuses to admit this to anyone and asking him this will result in a smackdown. He has a hidden bookcase in his room where he stashes his romance novels.

Really wants a cat but can't because he's terrified that the cat will choke on Sans' rubbish.

Learned to be ruthless and aggressive at Sans' knee, but he doesn't agree with Sans' version of aggression and his bloodlust. Believes that violence is the answer to all questions, but that violence should not be excessive. If he must kill someone, he will do so with one clean hit.

Loyal to the throne/monarch of monsters, not necessarily the person that sits on it. He greatly respects Asgore for leading them through tough times, but believes that Asgore makes for a better peacetime leader, and Toriel a wartime leader.

Has a good sense of style and will ensure that he dresses up neatly and nicely. His closet is massive and has a large range of clothes - most of them ones that he made himself. He definitely made some of Sans' smarter suits and repairs them when they get torn. Really wants to learn how to sew tactical lining so he can have a bulletproof suit.

He is more turned on by the mental aspect of the Concierge's dominance than he is the physical aspect. That being said, he really, really wants to be kabedon'd and/or pinned against the wall by the Concierge.

Very easily bullied. Secretly has a (gentle) humiliation kink.

Now that Dielle's Wish has concluded with its public updates, I can post this! I'll preface this by saying that I don't think there's any canon conclusion on what happened to Mateo during Dielle's Wish- I think a huge part of the story is that Dielle never gets closure on what her dad was thinking, whether it be him telling her he hates her, to him telling her he loves her but can't take care of her, she'll just never know. There are other intentionally unknown elements in the story as well- whether that rock was Jirachi's cocoon, whether they even heard her wish if it was them, or if it was all a fairytale. I left all of these elements ambiguous on purpose, because there are a lot of things in life we never truly get a conclusion to.

That said, I do have my own headcanons! I don't think these are necessarily true to the story, so don't go quoting this post at anyone who has different theories because this is also just a theory. But I like to think the crystal perhaps was Jirachi (perhaps not a literal pokemon- just a magic rock with intense psychic abilities), and it sort of... amplified certain thoughts Mateo was already grappling with. I know that in the Jirachi Wishmaker movie Jirachi was implied to not actually be able to grant wishes, it just had immense psychic powers- which I think is a fun idea! Perhaps, if Mateo had thoughts about coming to terms with Dielle resembling Damini, a different thought could have been amplified instead...

There is one thing I can say for certain though, and it's that we probably won't see Mateo again in the comic. Or at least, I don't plan to. Perhaps Jirachi will send me psychic brainwaves to change my mind? I guess we'll find out together!

JOURNEY WITH ME BELOW THE CUT TO HEAR MY EXTENSIVE THOUGHTS ABOUT ANDREI BOLKONSKYS SEX LIFE (spoilers i actually go more in depth about my interpretation of andreis psychological issues than ever but you have to get through the stupid sex stuff first. Sorry. Also I'm finishing writing this at the airport at seven am after not a lot of sleep so I take no responsibility for how coherent it may or may not be)

Ok I cannot emphasise enough that. Part of my initial take on Andrei (and a partial basis for my andretole au) was LITERALLY "guy who needs to get fucked but is too full of toxic masculinity to let anyone top him". Like, it's 1805 and everyone is obsessed with ancient Greece, they probably just started unpacking ancient Greek ideas about homosexuality, someone as proud, misogynistic and self-possessed as Andrei would absolutely see bottoming as some sort of shameful dishonour, if only subconsciously. (But like, if mercury was in Gatorade and the heavens collided and Pierre actually realised one day that Andrei has the hots for him and offered to top, Andrei would agree in a heartbeat because the thirst is even stronger than the internalised homophobia)

But silly sex headcanons aside I do think there's genuine psychology going on here so let me elaborate. I think Andrei is chronically incapable of being vulnerable with people. Even when making an effort to talk openly about his emotions (like in his first one on one with Pierre), he's very distanced from them, cold and disdainful. He talks about emotions but doesn't exhibit them. And if strong emotions of any kind threaten to get the better of him, he defaults to anger - see his anger at Lise in the same scene, his anger at Pierre after his refusal by Natasha and again before borodino - probably because anger feels easier and doesn't imply weakness like other emotions - sorrow, fear, regret - might. I mean in that scene after Natasha's refusal the narration openly states that Andrei hates being pitied... So like, if he can't bear to be vulnerable with others in life, how could he possibly do so in bed, right?

(Though I suppose it's not as clear cut as that because hatefucking Anatole IS a sign of weakness and feeling ashamed of it is also a sign of weakness and anatole's refusal to be bothered by it reminds Andrei of that fact every single day. He just can't win! Can't have shit in 1805 Russia!!)

All this being said, it's equally as important to my understanding of Andrei that he does WANT and even NEED to be vulnerable with someone. He wants to be able to trust and respect someone enough to lean on them and rely on them for comfort. I think that his extreme self-reliance and internal strength belie a deep-seated desire to have someone in his life who will render those traits unnecessary. Hold on I just realised Andrei has mommy issues uhh

In all seriousness tho. This is why those relationships Andrei tries to build fail, isn't it? He doesn't approach those people as equals, he wants them to be his superiors. Natasha can't just be a girl whose company he enjoys, she has to be his angel of rejuvenation and moral redemption. Speransky can't just be a man whom he respects, he has to be this flawlessly committed and morally upstanding reformer. And when he dares act like an imperfect human being, Andrei is totally turned off. His relationship with Pierre is actually probably the healthiest precisely because of its internal contradictions - he cherishes Pierre's earnestness and artlessness, but sees his naiveté and weak will, and therefore doesn't build him up to such an impossible standard of perfection as others.

(This actually contrasts in an interesting way with Pierre's (imo) final and most important transformation - that into someone who can acknowledge people's flaws and love them, without judgement or delusion. Very Christlike of him)

So um tldr. Yes Andrei SHOULD bottom (slash not be such a dom slash be vulnerable with anyone) and it WOULD fix him but also he'd need to already BE fixed for it to ever be on the table so like. F. He'll have to make do with blowing anatole's back out and hating himself for it, and count himself lucky that my stupid au gives him that much

3 and 4 (worst take you've ever seen on tumblr/what was the last strae that made you block someone) I'm combining into one cause I fortunately haven't dealt with anyone actually harassing me on here, over fandom drama specifically anyway (yet). OKAY so you all are going to hear about the cold take I saw that lives in my brain rent free that made me unfollow and block a mutual in a fit of rage and bafflement.

Picture being me, a month or two ago. I'd recently followed someone on the spot cause they'd had such a good meta about queer!Rose headcanons. They followed me back. Cool. Everything's Gucci. And then I realize how much of their blog is Dreamling. Okay, I can tag filter or unfollow if it bothers me.

And then I saw them dead ass go into the part of the comics where Ishtar is talking to Dream in Brief Lives, and she says "You really don't like women, do you?"

(Which, ouch, but given his previous behavior, not at all an unfair comment.)

And this person's takeaway was, I shitteth you not, a rambling diatribe about how maybe the reason all Dream's relationships keep failing meanwhile he's friends with Hob Gadling, is that maybe...he's not that Into Women!!

Yeah. Seriously. Definitely not the emotional problems, lack of consistent communication and ability to maintain a relationship long term for various reasons, Definitely not the pride and anger problem that got him to send Nada to hell, which literally the entire arc of Season of Mists involved him trying to fix, no, all this can be waved away with what might as well have been a longer-winded version of that corny ass 2000s era meme "Sometimes a man...hurts a woman...because his soulmate is a man!!" And before you ask - no, this person didn't appear to be joking. I seriously wanted to believe it was satire but NOPE. So now you all have to suffer the knowledge that some people (because it was being just reblogged uncritically to praise) seriously think like this. I swear I lost braincells that day.

7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but the way the fandom acts about them? Well...oh you know. Hobert Gadling. Easy.

Look, I was never His Biggest Fan for. Obvious reasons stated below, but he's interesting when you look at him as a direct parallel and contrast to Dream - both of these men/man-shaped beings are immortal and have done absolutely horrendous, unforgivable things to others in their long lives, between Dream's sending a woman he supposedly loved to Hell for breaking it off with him, and Hob's participation in the slave trade. And now, the question is...what do they do with this? How do you live with yourselves, having done things you can never make up for? DO you choose to go on living? Then again the critical difference between them among others - Hob has the ability to choose to maintain his immortality, or not. Dream doesn't - or doesn't feel he can safely choose to abandon the role he was born into.

But the sheer SCALE to which the fandom has constantly, utterly erased the worst of this man's atrocities, like flat out refuses to acknowledge they even exist in both show and comics (it would be one thing entirely if they cut that bit out of the show I'd understand people going feral over show Hob then, but. They did not so where's people's excuse) so they can push him and Morpheus into the mold of their ship is...honestly kind of amazing (derogatory) and has driven me to wanting to grind my teeth every time I saw the ship and eventually, him, until I recently finally wised up and filtered tags. And what also irks me - that they've taken OVER the fandom to the point where it's getting genuinely hard to impossible to go into the tags of any other characters including Rose and Lucienne especially without MOST OF IT being about them being sidelined as cheerleaders in some way for this ship. And if you tag filter and block then that just means their tags are suddenly vastly diminished or full of "this post has filtered tags" "this post has filtered tags" "this post-" ughhhhhh.

You mentioned Ash lighting their cigarettes with their pyrokinesis. Do any of the other characters smoke? Any other vices they have?

Then I'm wondering if anyone got tattoos (if yes, do you have examples what they'd look like?), piercings, jewelry or other important accessories you'd say are worth mentioning?

Lastly, everyone's favorite flowers?

If it's not too much work for all the ROs and maybe Viktor, Luka and Cara too?

Hey 👋 no worries and it’s not annoying at all! I’m happy that you have shown so much enthusiasm and love for my story 😭❤️

I have been planning to let MC make Ash at least try to stop smoking by scolding them 😂 The other RO that also smokes is Santana, but they have been trying to stop for a while now, so they won’t smoke as much as Ash. Luka also used to smoke but has long since quit (from Viktor’s and Cara’s constant scoldings) and only smoke occasionally if he’s really stressed out.

Viktor and Cara used to drink too, not really drinking to a stupor and drunk of course, just enough to get the buzz and relax. Viktor usually went with Vodka or Whiskey (ironically like his father) while Cara usually went with beer or scotch. Viktor stopped most of it when MC was born, but occasionally, he indulged a bit at night if little MC was already asleep.

As for Rin and Skylar… I don’t think they have any, unless you count Rin having a little sweet tooth and Santana’s reliance on caffeine to be vices as well. Rin doesn’t really go ham crazy for sweet stuff, but they enjoy sweet desserts and buying those for them is usually a safe bet 😆 Santana just needs coffee because they are often tired either from being overworked or from the side effect of using their power too much (it could give them vivid nightmares).

As for tattoos, Ash, Rin, and Skylar have them.

Ash’s tattoos are all black and white. They have one snake wraparound tattoo on their right bicep that sometimes looks as if it’s alive when the muscles there ripple. And one with skeletal hand design on their left hand that they actually kinda regret now a bit but is still stubborn enough not to remove it 😆 Closest pictures I can find:

Rin has the full back tattoo (end on their lower back) of a kitsune with colors and in traditional Japanese art style (horimono tattoos). Closest designs that I could find:

Skylar has those small, minimalistic design tattoos dotted here and there on their body, mostly nature related designs.

As for jewelries and accessories.

Ash is not really interested in wearing any unless the accessories have to do with driving their bike (like their driving gloves or helmet) or have any practical uses during fights. Can maybe be persuaded to wear rings since it can work as impromptu knuckleduster but those will most often get in the way of wearing their driving gloves, so they would rather bring a separate brass knuckles 🤣 I think it was also a similar case for Aunt Cara as well.

For female Rin, she loves to wear those minimalistic but elegant and expensive jewelries such as necklace, bracelets, rings, and or earrings. For male Rin, he loves to wear those luxurious and expensive watches, like Rolex or Patek Philippe. Viktor also loved collecting those ridiculously expensive watches whereas Luka has always been more into sports cars instead 😂

Santana doesn’t really wear any significant jewelries or accessories as well, other than their badge and gun holster 😆 Skylar also, surprisingly, not big on jewelries and accessories. They are a pretty active and outdoorsy type of person when they are not on duty, so maybe that’s why.

As for the favorite flowers question, I can’t really answer that since I know next to nothing about different types of flowers 😅 So, feel free to headcanon any that you would feel fitting for the characters!

Alina and the Darkling’s interactions, pt. 11

Chapter 22- Once again, this is more of a mix, but I’ve decided to add this post to this particular series because I want to... 😁

It’s beginning the moment Alina frees herself from the Darkling’s collar-caused influence.

When your plan B falls apart with no apparent reason and some unskilled beginner uses the power boost, that was supposed to work for you, against you...

Still feels kinda weird Ivan is SO surprised to see the Cut. I understand he wouldn’t expect it from Alina, but this sounds like he just had a peek of some mythical animal.

Headcanon: Alina just misheard him. His real words were:

“... the FUCK?!” *Tired™ gay noises*

I’m also pissed this is the way LB keeps describing learning process:

CAN’T DO IT -> CAN DO IT

Yes, Alina definitely has power, but focus? The way she describes it, it sounds like she doesn’t even have to think about it. When she does it for the first time. After few months of basic training, when she had troubles light up a hallway. One of a few...

This is the first serious mistake we see the Darkling make. He completely misjudges Alina, when he expects her to have some sort of conscience, preventing her from slaughtering “innocents”. Yes, she was screaming murder just few moments earlier, unfortunatelly for him (and those approximately sixty people on the skiff), she doesn’t care about anything as long as she doesn’t have to face any consequences. Be it blame, or sight of the corpses.

Also a huge fan of use of the word “help” here. Can’t really picture Alina being helpful in any way. I understand, how is that sentence meant, but still... You’re a walking, talking obstruction, Alina!

I love how oprichniki- non-magical soldiers- simply follow their orders even against magical shiny girl, who just showed she’s more than willing to kill them all. Nice to see someone, who’s good in doing their Saintsdamned job. I would SO love to know more about them. Only respect.

They were all too afraid, afraid of him...

... or perhaps afraid of that insane hysterical girl, threatening them with the Cut. They probably think she’s completely batshit crazy.

... and afraid of a world without his protection.

Sure, anyone, who saw the real world, or lived outside Ravka wouldn’t be willing to live without the Darkling’s protection. That’s what happens when you’re not proclaimed living Saint, but dissected instead.

Have to admit, you can’t say Alina doesn’t have her priorities sorted...

... but she sure as hell can try.

Another of my favourite traits of Alina is her ability to ask greater, or more complicated, important questions in purely rhetorical manner. 

Wasn’t I abandoning Ravka and all the people who believed in me? Only my power could destroy the Fold, and I was running away.

I shook my head. I couldn’t afford to think about any of that right now.

I wonder, what the Darkling really meant, because it sure as hell wasn’t “... it would make [Alina] more like him.”. He’s not the type to leave a group to die for one person...

Not freeing a deserter of consequences of his actions is cruelty comparable to leaving some sixty-ish people to die for having no idea, what the fuck’s happening.

Did the Darkling have the power to free Malyen? Maybe, Mal’s not his subordinate. The First Army would execute him anyway, so they probably won’t mind too much Darkles would carry it out. There might be some bitching, some complaints he didn’t ask beforehand... Pardoning would require more effort, possibly some favours or concessions on Aleksander’s part. Perhaps a bit of lying... it would definitely cost him as a leader of the Second Army.

Now why would he do that? Because Alina asked him? After running away not only from him, but her responsibilities? It’s not just personal, but he believes cutting Malyen off will make her stronger. Belief that proved to be hardly unfunded, one we can consider a fact. 

I might understand, why would Alina put the only person she cares about above lives of others, but insinuating it’s the Darkling’s fault, because he didn’t prioritise a life of one (1), when he wouldn’t even be the only person paying for that and it would cause even more problems on the long run...

Alina performs the Cut blindly in the skiff’s direction. She doesn’t miss. It’s not very likely subsequent screaming is only a matter of fear and confusion. How many died by her Cut? How many were injured? Dismembered? How many were buried under the wreckage? Sure, the volcra did some killing, but how much pain did Alina cause herself? Not enough to feel too torn about it... or did I miss some existential crisis in the next two books?

Huge fan of the wording of the last sentence. Did Alina already forget the people she left there to be slaughtered, or are they also “the monsters”?

a headcanon ( reminder ) about ripper stefan.

stefan does not always have his humanity off while he is feeding on humans or better known, when he’s the ripper. just because stefan is a ripper does NOT mean his humanity is off. a lot of people assume, because he’s the ripper that he’s got no humanity. that isn’t always the case, actually … it’s usually not.

an example of this being when he was with klaus, during the beginning of season three, he had his humanity on but was feeding from humans. ( & he wasn’t happy about this but had to keep on klaus’ good side thus becoming the one thing he never wanted to be again ) it’s shown that stefan doesn’t turn his humanity off until klaus compels him while they’re in the mystic falls high gym & he wants stefan to feed on elena.

he usually becomes the ripper before even thinking about shutting off his humanity. being the ripper simply means stefan is feeding on human blood & accidentally killing whoever he feeds on. as the ripper with his humanity on, stefan does not want to kill anyone. however, because he’s so out of control he quite literally can’t get himself to stop. & yes, while the ripper, his personality is different. being on human blood makes him more powerful & curves the way he thinks & acts. he’s blinded by the cravings. stefan’s personality shifts due to the fact that he’s basically high on human blood & it’s something he can’t control, one taste of human blood makes him just want more & more. he still feels guilty every single time he feeds. after he feeds and realizes what he’s done, the guilt sinks in. this is why when he’s done, he does the morbid thing of putting the heads back on the bodies after sitting them back up right. it’s his way of making it seem like he didn’t just drink them dry until their heads popped off.

now of course, there is the ripper without humanity. that’s when there’s no guilt, no shame, no feelings. that’s when all he truly does care about is blood & feeding. that’s a whole other headcanon to talk about but basically this was a mini headcanon explaining how just because he’s feeding from humans or the ripper doesn’t mean he has no humanity, it usually just means he’s lost his control. if anyone has any questions, feel free to shoot them my way.

As a couple: One of their favorite things to do when no one is around is napping together, curled up in each other's arms.

What was the point that you think they started to develop romantic feelings for each other? While I think there was a mutual attraction and they became friends quickly. I think Burning The Candle/the dance was the turning point. Even if I think neither of them quite got it yet.
