Alex Griffing at Mediaite:
As pro-Palestinian protesters blocked major U.S. transportation infrastructure on Monday, from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge to the entrance to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, one Republican senator joined Fox News to call for Americans “to take matters into their own hands.” Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) joined Fox’s midday news programming and was asked for his thoughts. “Well, I feel very deeply for all those people who are trying to get to work or trying to pick up a kid. Very worried about the diversion of police resources where it needs to be stopping crime and cities like San Francisco, where firefighters are having to go there when they might have calls for fires out,” Cotton began, adding:
[I have to say, Sandra, I agree with you that you have to get to these are these, criminals early? If something like this happened in Arkansas on a bridge there. Let’s just say I think there’d be a lot of very wet criminals that have been tossed overboard, not by law enforcement, but by the people whose, road they’re blocking. If they glued their hands to a car or the pavement. Well, probably pretty painful to have their skin ripped off, but I think that’s the way we’d handle it in Arkansas. And I would encourage most people anywhere that get stuck behind criminals like this, who are trying to block traffic to take matters in their own hands. There’s only usually a few of them, and there’s a lot of people being inconvenienced. It’s time to put an end to this nonsense.]
Anchor Sandra Smith replied, “Clearly, Senator, as we watch this together, and to your point about the way different cities and states can react to this, you’re obviously saying that in your state you would deal with this much differently. As you heard from Paul Mauro, speaking from a law enforcement perspective, they know that there’s cameras on them. They know, that they can’t obviously hurt somebody. And the removal of these protesters, there’s obviously a very delicate balance to dealing with this. And the longer it goes on. It would appear the longer it’s going to take to resolve it.”
Sen. Cotton posted on X, doubling down on the call to violently remove pro-Palestinian protesters:
Tumblr media
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) urging vigilante action to stop pro-Palestinian protesters (who he wrongly labeled "pro-Hamas") from blocking roadways is part of his call to violently remove protesters by any means possible.

people who became reliant on al jazeera for news on the israeli genocide in gaza: pls know that AJ might not cover the american bombing of yemen in the same way due to politics, however, this doesnt mean that civilian areas in yemen arent being bombed at all (eg airports) so pls look at other sources for accurate reporting eg almayadeen english

The sheer fucking audacity of CNN to refer to yet another inhumane massacre of Palestinians who were just trying to retrieve aid for their starving families as a "chaotic incident" enrages me. They refuse to name the perpetrators who murdered Palestinians, the IOF and they refuse to condemn Israel for the atrocities they have been carrying out since October. The CNN and other western news/media outlets don't even deserve to be called as journalists but rather a bunch of heartless ghouls with no morality, fortitude, or spine. and these so-called news outlets should be put on trial for their complicity in this genocide.

Deaths that result from resistance against settler-colonial violence is ALWAYS the fault of the colonizers. Not the colonized.
Don't want a war? Don't spend 80 years doing an apartheid against the indigenous.

do you have any rudy hcs lying around? asking for a friend 👀
Hey, there! Yeah, I was able to come up with some!
Rodolfo HCs
He actually prefers men over women. He will still date women, he has had crushes on them, after all, but he more often than not dreams about being with another man. This has caused him some distress in the past. Considering he realized he liked men very early on, he thought he was gay back then. However, later on he developed a crush on a girl and so he thought he was straight after all. The realization that he might be straight broke his heart because he really wanted to be into men back then. Yes, he was unaware that you can like more than one gender, so he felt bad when he had that crush on that girl. It took him another few years until he realized he could be bisexual. He met another guy who was quite the flirt, having flirted with men and women alike. Rodolfo didn’t mind that, but did question that guy about it. Once he had the answer of simple bisexuality, it clicked and he felt absolutely stupid for not having realized it sooner. To this day he’s friends with that person and sometimes still meets up with him.
Although he’s severely touch starved, he’d rather die than admit to that. No amount of touch could ever satisfy him. Besides, he believes that, just because he’s a man, he shouldn’t really be held in a comforting way, especially not by a woman. He’s a strong, protective guy, he has to be the one doing the protecting, and that includes doing the holding during cuddling as well. Sometimes he might be a bit grumpy because he just really wants to be held, especially when his stress levels are at an all time high. However, he can’t really swallow his pride and outright ask for it either, his partner would have to be the one to come up to him and make the suggestion. Fairly early on, he might refuse such advances from a female partner, but once he knows she won’t think any less of him for that, he’s more willing. If his partner is a man, however, then he’d be honored. Rodolfo genuinely believes that every man out there believes the same thing that he does in that regard, so he can appreciate a guy “willing to swallow his pride”. He doesn’t outright ask for cuddles, he will only hint at the fact he wants some with him. He could literally have a sleepless night, with being held being the only remedy out there, and he’d still not ask for any.
He’s not at all an outgoing person anymore. He used to be when he was a child, making friends left and right with just about any kid he ever found, but he outgrew that phase. No one knows why, not even he does, but he sometimes does miss being a people person, it would make some things a lot easier. However, he does have Alejandro in his life, who is an outgoing person that knows lots and lots of people. Whenever Rodolfo needs anything he doesn’t need to look for too long, Alejandro is usually right there. The two go way back with each other, having known one another for almost 20 years now. Whenever Rodolfo needs anything, Alejandro is the first person to know since he knows he can count on him. Although he usually asks Alejandro for someone who might be doing this specific thing or knows how to do it well, it’s usually Alejandro who helps Rodolfo regardless. Those two have grown very close with each other and can tell what the other needs without them even saying anything. Rodolfo does truly appreciate Alejandro for that, he’s never had a better friend than him. When Rodolfo moved, all Alejandro asked for was some beer and watching some movies together. Rodolfo would literally and figuratively die for Alejandro, but the latter usually tells him there’s no need for that. He’d much rather have Rodolfo take a break.

I'm actually so sick and fucking tired of people who think covid is comparable to the flu. Just bc you or a family member got it and didn't die doesn't mean it's not super fucking serious and life threatening, ESPECIALLY for disabled people/people with health issues/autoimmune disorders. Every time my father sees me wearing a mask he rants about how covid is just like the flu and that everyone is over reacting and [insert shitty conspiracy theory here] and it makes me so upset every goddamn time. I got covid half a year ago, despite doing everything right, thanks to my parents' stupidity. I was sick for 13 days, entirely bedridden and feverish for 9 of those days. I physically couldn't get out of bed, not even to piss, the entire first day my mother had to half carry me everywhere. Same thing the second day, when she dragged me to the doctor where I tested positive. The first five days, I couldn't even look at an electronic device and had to keep the lights off all the time bc I'd actually vomit. I had a migraine that didn't go away no matter what medicine I took, for the entire the first week. My nose was constantly stuffy and my sinuses were so backed up I couldn't breathe through my nose, which made breathing in general so difficult and painful bc my asthma was also exacerbated. So my chest hurt too. All my normal chronic pain was magnified tenfold. I had a 103 fever for three days in a row, then it fluctuated between 98-100 the rest of the time. Thinking about it right now I still remember the pain and how it felt. I've had strep throat, a lot as a kid. I've had chicken pox, and the flu several times, because my parents never fucking vaccinated us. I have never been more sick in my goddamn life than I was with covid. And this is just me. Yes I'm disabled and yes I'm still being tested for possible autoimmune disorders (my mom and her whole side of the family have them) but even still I'm not nearly as at risk as a lot of people, and I was still more affected than anyone in my entire family, who have all also gotten covid because of their own stupidity. My taste and smell were never affected, but I'm still losing hair from it, which is apparently also a symptom I never knew about.
Wear. Your fucking. Masks. Covid is still around, it's still super fucking serious, it is NOT just like the flu, and you had fucking better take it seriously. Even if you don't care about getting it yourself, at least show some goddamn consideration for others whose health and lives are at risk.

Hey, everyone!
Shit has been going down these past few days, especially in CE Fandom. With trolls and haters unnecessarily attacking fans of Chris's work, and want nothing to do with the war that is waging in every corner of the internet.
youtube
With that said, Imma put a song that is basically me, in the middle of this shit storm. Also, because I'll be posting my thoughts and words about my "Captain America: Sub Rosa" reread in a bit, so stay tuned, if y'all wanna share in the appreciation.
P.S. I dedicate this song to @citronbun and all the other fans being attacked for not being part of the drama because it's probably been a bit of a rough day for them.
P.P.S. I will switch to Taylor's Version once it comes out, until then, this'll have to do.

January 1985. On Earth-2, Clark Kent became a newspaper editor in the early 1950s, and soon picked up the "Don't call me 'chief'!" thing.
It's a good bit, although it's muddied by some arbitrary continuity choices: On Earth-2, Clark, Lois, and Jimmy spent their entire careers at the Daily Star, the paper from the earliest Superman comics stories, not at the Daily Planet. As revealed in the "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" story in THE SUPERMAN FAMILY #197, Perry White was a reporter for the Star, but he was never their editor (although he and Clark competed for the job when editor George Taylor announced his retirement), so the "Yes, chief?"/"Don't call me 'chief'!" gag is referencing something that never happened on Earth-2. This also means that while Earth-2 was supposed to be the home of the Golden Age Superman, a lot of Golden Age Superman stories couldn't have happened on Earth-2 unless you mentally substitute the Daily Star for the Daily Planet and George Taylor for Perry White.

terrifies me sometimes that the US politics I have learnt largely against my will is still regularly more than the amount USians seem to know. like. yeah okay I am a political science student so that doesn’t help the situation. but when I, an anti-US Australian, am able to summarise the recent national security bill while USians are claiming that they’ve never heard of said bill……. what is happening
