i have both 1080p and 720p options for TNG (1436x1080 bc 4:3 aspect ratio), and weirdly i prefer the lower res option. it's not bc it's an old show, as i've seen HD remasters of even older stuff (beauty of analog filming !) and they always looked great. there's something about the way TNG is shot and the softness of 720p upscaling to 1080 on my monitor that just looks better ??
full HD has a sort of uncanny effect. idk why
